"Time of this recording noth- no ink to paper yet. But the reports are that he will be the next general manager of the Oilers. What are your thoughts? Well, I mean, they made him a really good financial offer five years times five million per season. So it's five million dollar offer is the I think in terrific off. Sure, the discussion was that Kenny is going to have as much on Connie as general manager can have within the process. I mean, you're not going to get people say get full on Tommy. Well, if the owner decides you want to do something, I mean, you're you're not doing it. That's just the way that goes. But I'm sure Kenny was promised quite a bit of the ability to to make decisions on on all things with the organization, and you know, as we talked about, I think when we talk about Steve is meant thing coming on. This is another case of allu- Lovro, lower your brother for who was kind of decide for someone else in those particular spots and guys who really still enjoy really having their hands on things than so Kenny how and got offered was a very good offer. And given probably be idea that he's. To be able to do things the way he wants to. He's a western Canadian kiddie inherits the best player in the game are mcdavid or at least the most offensively productive. And he inherits another good player there as well. Leon dry Seidl. So they got a lot of work to do. But you know, somebody obviously Kenny want it to work, and it was a very good financial offer form. So he goes to likely going to go to Edwardson. And you know, we'll see how plays out for him. Yeah. I think it's the right move when you consider who's available, and they certainly were a rudderless ship there for a long time as far as trying to find the right person to direct this franchise. Even though we can question some of the talent and some of the areas, they they have way too much talent the miss the playoffs back to back years the way they did especially not feeding off of going, you know, going to the second round of the playoffs. Just a couple of years ago. They have high end talent certainly something Ryan and dry Seidel. And you know, but the yearly went to the playoffs. I think it was largely on the back of Cam Calvin. I mean, he was so good that you're could've easily been a a vessel Hart trophy winner. I mean, he was. Really good. He played a lot of games for that year..

"You know, just in terms of looking at the Jeff let's just look at the front. You know, maybe look at the linebackers the secondary. I will give the front maybe a two and a half. I thought they were spotty off tackle runs and they couldn't finish. When they had case keenum in in some situation several times, they just could not finish. I thought they were getting some adequate and some pretty good pressure. They just couldn't close the deal. So I'm going to give them a two and a half. I don't think it was terrible game. But definitely not one of their best. Yeah. It wasn't good. It wasn't. He. Reminding few years ago the stretch stretch zone run is what they gashed him on a few times. It seemed like the Steelers head sure that other the years, but how bad did they miss deaf? Onto it lands, in your opinion is a is he going to be a cure all for this dealers defense or this run defense or any kind of being exposed. I think he will cure. And here's the reason I'm giving a funny reason why it's because if he comes back the rotations of the defensive lineman or back to where they should be in. Daniel mccullers does not have to play Daniel mccullers cannot play the outside zone and mccullers plays at a Pat level that's far too high. If you go back to the Jacksonville game, you look at all twenty two they get gals ripped when day covers into gay. So if two incomes back the rotation is back into it's a better player spoke Tyson allu- or Allahu Allahu Cal grad plays less. Snaps Walton doesn't get on the field is much and Daniel mccullers never plays. So I think with to back it really helps and they better have him back next week because Melvin Gord is even more dynamic in explosive than linzie. Yeah. I did see thunder. Saw Gordon was banged up a little bit in the game today off to double check on that. We'll we'll into that came ad nauseam on the websites. I'm sure will be tackling that in every different aspect. Let's go to some teams detested here. You're looking at this telling stats we always talk about red zone third down. So it's down offensively Steelers. Third down efficiency five for fourteen that's below the bar. Not very good. But Steelers defensively held the Broncos on for three of eleven on third efficiency. So it was Steelers offense. Yikes. That's bad. It's a little it's a it's a take under obviously five hundred. I look for above five hundred to be good. I'm below five hundred to be bads. That's just my definition of that you hold the Denver defended. Defensively holding Denver's off has three for Levin is not that bad either. What are your thoughts on the third down efficiency offensively lands, and what can they do to fix it? Not good enough on third down this Jeff. There was a play believe lately. Game third and six they target AB one on one I believe they throw it seventeen yards down the field to try to pick up a third down. And this was late in the fourth quarter calls like that are head-scratching to me. Why throw the ball seventeen yards to get six when you have one time out late in the game in you know, if you kick it back and give up a score you're gonna lose clock. And if you give up a score the game is going to be over. I think sometimes on third down to play calling just from a logical sensical perspective is off. But but but you got to convert their down more. I mean, you have to because the defense limited giver to three of eleven is outstanding. And I thought the defense had a pretty good handle on what?.

"I just think plus it has a much lower budget than than dragon tattoo. See I think I think it's gonna wind up a lot better. Also in five hundred more theaters can't believe the theater count on dragon tattoo. You sorry about that. Marketing campaign for overboard. Nobody knew what this movie was three weeks ago. And then you see ads for all over the place where it's really punching you in the face with the name Jj Abrams more than any other name. And it's got a lot of action and a lot of horror, and you're not really sure what the hell you're getting into. But it looks like there's a lot of stuff happening. And from what I've heard that's what you get. When you go see the movie a few of us going to go. Check it out tomorrow night. I'm very excited to see it all of a sudden, I did like spider's web a lot. And also like the Grinch a lot because I'm a sucker for a good Christmas movie. Hell I had fun with the nutcracker. Yeah. Remember how excited I was nutcracker before? I still have fun with that movie and the Grinch I enjoyed and that's a great family built in name-brand thing. But is it disappointing? If the Grinch only does fifty million dollars when you compare it to his his hairier, buddy. The Laura I think the the range right now is fifty five to sixty five Laura ex made what seventy I I'm going on the higher end of that range right now and saying between sixty and sixty five, but the movie has what is it a seventy five million dollars production budget for elimination and they? Just crush it time and time again with their movies. And given the fact that they're free and clear until Ralph breaks the internet comes out. I think they're gonna wind up with you know, to pretty solid weekends and the holiday cheer doesn't dissipate just because another animated movie enters that family friendly round. Well, I guess the Grinch is gonna make money. I liked it elimination makes these films at reasonable budgets, seventy five million for big animated movies pretty reasonable, especially when you're going to gross that back or come close to it on that first weekend. It's not a movie that I'm gonna see it really does feel like it's a kids movie, but I have loved the campaign. Like, I thought it's very clever all the posters around town. It just had a good sense of humor. So yeah, I think this is going to be another win for elimination and they all have to compete with bohemian rhapsody, which is already released this weekend. Just for funsies real quick. Did y'all like the Ron Howard live action? How's it going stole Christmas? Or did it totally turn you off a turn me off? Maybe I need to see the movie. I love Jim Carey lover on. I hated that movie. Why I'm not sure I didn't hate it. I don't I don't remember hating it. I remember seeing it once and never again. So that probably speaks to how I felt about it. The up was fantastic. They did on Jim Carey. But no that wasn't a good movie. Neither cat in the hat. Okay. Yeah. I just say those to get lumped together since it looks like it's like the same character on this with a different color scheme. Yeah. Well, Perry number off. She was disappointed that she didn't have the continuity of all these elimination of but she did have some continuity because over work produced by Jj Abrams as. Allu- Allison Janney has signed on to co star or star in the movie, she's going to play Liu who is the landlord of an apartment, and she teams up with a woman who wants to go after this child that was kidnapped. So it's got like a taken vibe, and it meets Doman Louise a little bit. That's the way it's being described and like we said from producer Jj Abrams. It's written my Maggie Cohn has done American crime story, and it's directed by anti-foreigner. She did underworld blood wars. But she's also an episode of Jessica Jones. So that balances it out in my head. Anyway, sounds like a fun action through our Allison Janney her character is is sorta hard scrabble. But also has this particular skill set that might apply to going to find a child that's been kidnapped..

"That was the difference the yards. If you look on their the yards or the same. They're both almost five hundred yard because you think about the first half the saints. Touchdown touchdown fumble tests down touchdown. And it should have been over at half. And they let them back, but it was thirty five to fourteen right? And that's what on Payton can say. They'll came Mike allu-, we up twenty one. Look how quick they tied this ball game. So we need to make sure that we don't short in the field for eighteen. We make them drive the ball. We don't want to give them short feels and put at a disadvantage. So he has a great teaching tool. Now had they won this game by twenty one point Thomas tuning. But because he would happen. How close this game got? And how close it could have been you have Michael Thomas. I think he should think he should gently punish him. It was inspired. But it was wrong wrong. You just can't if you're going to be as good we both picked him to win the NFC. So if you're going to be that team, you can't do that up. We're gonna talk about this latest NFC loaded. As many questions as I have saints defense. They took Todd Gurley. I'm not gonna say they took him out of the game. But. They crowd them. They get behind. So now the threat of the run you're not gonna run yourself back into a ballgame. Like this less team because also the saints. They continue the power they still they still got thirty cares. They didn't do what had this big Lee lobes on just broke throw Abram, you take Camara taking running exactly. And so doing that also runs time off the clock. Jared Goff knows. Now, we neutralize one aspect of the Rams. Blown out by the raptors at home and didn't even have quite Leonard the loss drop the Lakers to a disappointing four and six last week. There were reports that Magic Johnson yelled at Luke Walton back to back losses. But yesterday magic showed support for Luke telling the LA times, quote, he's going to finish this season unless something drastic happens which it won't and after the below loss. Magic said, quote, we are not going to fire him Zanan. Do you believe magic does hard for me to believe magic? And I understood what he said at the beginning of the season that is going to take some time for this thing to jail in the mesh, but skill Magic Johnson's one of every level you've ever been on everything that he's ever done. He won the NCAA title. He comes to the NFL he with he with he wins the title rookie year, and it's finals MVP he won five titles. So guess what he goes into business? He won Magic Johnson theater six Starbucks excess. He buys. A part of the dodgers they go to back to back World Series. They didn't win. But he brings the cachet about winning. "We talk about all the time and the being dropped into that spot as a kid. First, overall, pick high expectations for anybody drafted as a quarterback in the first round. Now pretty much all them in. One way or the other have found their way in there and Baker mayfield's obviously now the man in in Cleveland. I don't think Sam darnold in any jeopardy. Allu- gig anytime soon. So on and so forth, which spot with David Carr most want to be in amongst these first round Cubo my goodness. Can you believe that I would that I would almost say Cleveland. That's crazy. I do think it's crazy actually, but it is crazy. I think that I think that I would say just because of their offense of system. I like they have their on the offense of staff with Hugh Jackson included in that. I like the pieces that they have if it just wasn't Cleveland, it'd be an easy answer because I think about the jets impossibly the jets. The jets are pretty good situation. Sam is going to be really, he's hot Haley by the way, never got enough credit on the banks of the three rivers. I probably Stiller's fans because the premise of him coming in there was you got to get the ball out of seven hands more quickly because getting destroyed season after season. We gotta figure out a way around that. He did. Exactly that burgers had some of his very best had some of his very best years people. They don't like Todd Haley left for, you know, however, that went down and good. I'm like, no, not good. Do you remember what it was like? I know Dave remembers what it was like you pre Todd Haley. So I think he's doing a great job in Cleveland. I think bakers gonna unfortunately, they play the raiders and I'll be there in Oakland this Sunday. I don't want them to have too much to say you think you think gold bake is going to head out to the East Bay and take care of business bake will come out and do what he did on Thursday. He's got an entire week to prepare and be the starter listen. I just don't. We have to temper are enthusiastic a little bit about this. He's it's done. Yeah, definitely the right pick rose and shouldn't have been anybody else Brown's. Got it, right. Nailed it. They must have listened to me coming back from the combine. Actually. I had nothing to do with it, but a went to the combine. That was the one guy that stood out and you just, you see him throw the football. I was surprised pleasantly surprised that he had his arms as you did. It is weird. What is it about that. I don't know what I mean. I watched them play planning at Oklahoma. I didn't exist. Away the ball jumps out of his hand looks different to me than it did when he was at Oklahoma, right? I don't know what it is. I think he has to use so much more of his body. You'll see him like when he throws it his feet come off the ground. He's using his entire by to throw the football, and that usually comes out nice and tight spiral right where he wants it. But the thing about him that I love is he does not hesitate, and he's not afraid to throw the football down the field into tight windows. And because of that, he's able to get into a lot of spots. So I love watching him play. All right, that's fine. We'll see what happens. But I do say this here and now because I belly eight, the bow John Dorsey, he must take darnold or rose in wide. Because here's what the standard is higher. If you are John Dorsey because you are the Representative of the Cleveland Browns. John Dorsey can say, I'm not responsible for anything that happened prior to my time here this you are..

"Hello. And welcome to the pistons. This is she who pisses to the Nassir podcast. My name is via tras, and I'm here with Liz. Despite the fact that she has a broken toe. Yes, I fell out of bed. Don't even terrible. I before we before we talk about anything else. I want to shout out Inna who talked about one time in a podcast because she sent us this lovely. Present she's sent a gift package with like. No agent chart club. Which is I'm sure amazing. And I'm really super jealous that I'm not in Austria taste. And she also made us, I didn't know English. What for it is? But it's like an embroidery hoop saying crossed it with cross stitch. Is that what it's called? Okay. So he made us across that says, they nasty and thank you so much for that. I was so excited when I open it. So so lovely. Yeah. And INA actually posted recently to the discussion group for the podcast and suggested I believe it was a book, and I don't have I should have actually had this up in front of me when we were talking. So that I could. I could say hold on hold on. I'm getting there the book that she suggested was so you wanna talk about race by. Chioma allu-. And I'm sure if I said that faster would actually sound like the real name, and I'm so terrible with names both western eastern, so or in non western, so it's yeah. Anyway, basically anything that's not an English name is just a problem. No. Oh, no. Terrible with some English names too. This Lexa and so for me Billy out alive. So I mean, it's not a lot, but it's like a little bit. So I will skip you letters and I'll switch them. And it's yet suck right anyway. So you want to talk about race? We've talked a lot about intersection -ality on the podcast. That's not our topic today. But there's also intersection -ality with what we're gonna talk about today. So if you are interested in talking about intersection -ality and learning more about how to be a white ally. Check out the book. So you want to talk about race? And also join the Facebook group because I really think that the idea of like she book club is a really good idea. Yeah. And yeah. So thinking any foes for trying to stop this conversation on a Facebook group? And then also we need shot at a patriot. Cisco. Cisco which is also. So she's I feel like she's only fan other fans, but you know. Like, our our favorite person in the world right now. Absolutely. Thank you. Yeah. If you also want to contribute something to pay you and then go to patriots dot com slash sheep, assisted, and you can support the show there. All right. So. What are we going to talk about today? Not broken. Nope. Broken toes? Something else that hurts and bleeds a lot. Oh, yeah. We're going to talk about periods. More precisely period shaming. This is the first episode of series again. So we are going to do more episodes on the on the issue of periods. Because while we researched the topic I got very excited, and I just felt like the needs to be more than one episode to talk about everything that needs to be talked about. So today, we are going to start with the topic of period shaming and on the other side of the coin period positivie. Talking about today will come up in a later episode on cultural to booze and let what we talk about today is based on cultural Dabous that we are going to discuss in another episode so just as site no to that. And I actually would like to solve this episode with a quote. Okay. We need to insert some some music in the while you're reading the quote while I'm reading like some I dunno. Something remote should be like inspirational music inspiration. Yeah. Like either like meditation music somebody. Harps? Yeah. Nice. Thank you. Okay. Come. Among the whole range of any mated beings. The human female is the only one that has to monthly discharge. And in whose room a found, but we told them moles these moles consist of shapeless mass of flesh devoid of all life and capable of resisting. "I think once you get above a certain amount of and a certain amount of strength that becomes more difficult for him at the three. But certainly, I mean, I, you know, I'm not sure. I think we might be okay. So Dante allu- bit defensively based on and it was admittedly very good against hardened. But I need to see more of that from him over the course of a full season. I know he was great as a rookie and then you, I think he didn't really get back to that level until his return last year, but we're not talking about quite as many games on the can keep that up over a full season. I mean, I don't think there's anything definitive anybody can say about Dante played fourteen games last year. He didn't play right. I mean, there's just nothing definitive. You can say about him. It's why the sign him to three or contract because the jazz didn't the jazz believe they're still development that's going on. And so they don't want. They didn't want time to one year contract and have that development and finish out with somebody else. They wanted to happen with them. So I would agree. So, I mean, I think I think you're, I think Don. Alec Burks Royce o.'neil as you said it or probably the guys who get the first shot and then it gets really interesting to see what Grayson Allen can do. You know, Grayson Allen can do a lot of things. Well, that Dante Exum Alec Burks don't do as well and what right for those who aren't as familiar with them. I would say he the thought is that he, he's probably a little bit better on the handle in the passing, and he should be a little bit better. You know, the thought is he's going to be a little bit better shooter Dante's away better athlete, these and Grayson's good athlete, but Dante's world-class Dante's longer Dante's probably better defensively Dante. We'll probably finish better at the rim. He had a great year finishing in that limited time at the rim. Alec perks is probably better. One on one player better has some physical strength, grace and pride doesn't quite have yet some, so. But I think you'll be interesting just to see as the season goes on Royce O'Neill's, the best defender of all of them plays incredibly hearts. Fearless, not intimidated by anybody, decent corner, threes shooter needs to finish better at the rim show. So you have all these different skill sets and it will just be interesting as it all like maybe it's going to turn out that that second unit of Dante x. amount works in Royston Neil can't play together because none of them can shoot well enough and Grayson Allen can actually shoot, so then he's got to play with them..

"Listen, it's so tough there right now. There's a market inefficiency as far as there are so many more excellent pass rushers than there are excellent offense of lime. And like maybe that's about the new, the college rules or would just the athletes that are coming, whatever it is. It's hard to have enough of into Lyman in this league and seems like every team got pass rushers, but on the offense of side, listen, bring up the number two wide receivers of very fair critique, and of course airi'q flowers. But you look at the number two pick on a running back. They have Odell. I like sterling shepherd is a slow. Plot guy. I think an Ingram is poised to have a big year even though he on Eli, apple just got kicked out of practice couple of days ago getting into a little skirmish and they spend the money on solar. They spent their next draft pick after Barclay on the left guard from you tap, we'll Hernandez and and so you when we're talking about questions on offense, they have to me fewer. If you remove the quarterback van, the majority of other teams like so I get. I understand can't point as far as the offense you think has some of the personnel to be dynamic. I get that part of its wives folks on the defense. I guess the way I was looking at it is you tell me what type of football team you wanna be by where you put your draft capital. And we look at the high draft picks that Dave Gettleman and the past regime have on the offense aside and a ball. You say these playmakers. So junior first round draft, pick saquon Barkley. Second overall, pick England first round draft, pick he li- manning, I land drafting even aired flowers. Sold or even though you bought them over from free agency from the patriots drafted, you're telling me what you what sterling Shepard second round. We'll Hernandez around here telling me what you wanna be when you invest on that side of the ball with those draft pick. So that's why say that has to be the identity and listen. We would say that we would be disappointed if saquon Barkley from a production standpoint isn't a fifteen hundred yards from scrimmage, fifteen plus touchdown guy because that's what you're typically getting from running back that you take in the top five in the last two teams. And the last two drives up ticket back the they ended up in the playoffs. So that's my expectations for the giants. If they're going to do it, they have far more people to do it on the offense side of the ball than the defense Asada. That's why say that's going to be their identity. That's why they're going to be a postseason team. It's going to have to be an explosive unit. Sarah, I believe you asked me important question privately. Who is the head coat? Like who is Pat Shurmur like, what is he going to do? Is he going to have an explosive offense? Or is he going to be like the guy in Cleveland who some. People question, was he a thorn take enough now OB Jay. He's already been so shady with two coaches being fired. One being Tom Coughlin who is a disciplinarian and methadone who was a coach last year him getting fire was definitely a reaction to Odal Beckham and him not to be on the same page. So yes, the coach huge question marks for him and his leadership. All right, Chris, Canty you're gonna stay right there for us. Coming up is former teammate, ripping Cam Newton. That's next. I think I was fifteen bills wide receiver. Kelvin Benjamin spent his first three and a half seasons in the league and Carolina and turns out he wasn't very fond of his old quarterback Cam Newton, Benjamin told the AP, letting I should have just been drafted by somebody else should have never went to Carolina. It was a bad fit from the get-go. If you would have put me with any other quarterback, let's be real. Any other accurate quarterback, like Rogers or Eli manning or Big Ben, anybody quarterbacks with knowledge that know how place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the Vala just felt like I wasn't in that position, Chris Canty. Are you surprised by Benjamin's comments about Cam allu- bit? And I'm not surprised by the comment itself..

"The core guys but orlando wants more flexibility so they'd be looking for ways to ship out beyond bowed or they've already declined shila max option for next year except t million which makes everybody off makes eleven talked about the discount now he know how whatever you as a player what you're learning is that you can't play pay guys that are going to be at best you're the fourth best player if you're really really good team in more than eight line ten million dollars so it'll be interesting because in in some parallel universes they would use feature draft assets to move on from biondo fornia but because they're going in around young or they really don't want to be moving their future draft us out so this is why you don't do things like go commit financially to visit beyond unless the rest of the roster is ready to take that stuff you just don't do it and that's the big mistake that the prior this doesn't makers made i think they end up having to write out the beyond bill contract i think some teams that have a big on their roster like for two more years where i think four is three three more years i can't remember to not a player option yeah so the three but forty maybe guy like view in atlanta bays more as a guy that there's no automatic market for him but if a team gets to a certain situation they may view the base more market and his performance and the team better this they have on their team and there's a draft outside available but a sunk they're they're a negative contract but not a sunk contract and i think there's potential for some of those type of moves to happen where some good teams are so lacking on the wing yeah what i'm talking about is like a even relevant of what position it is evan fornia might not be worth seventy million dollars a year but a team who has a player who's even hasn't even worse contract and that say a mazda are joking noah allu all dang jim leonard i mean yeah where low at less per year but you're getting nothing from him take on a beer contract that you have a playable guy sung for half sunk i think there could be a lot of those type of deals damara carol comes to mind gorging comes to mind i would say which is also you could also put in that realm and another team so their their potential for some of those guys i was less so he's like maybe three quarters sunk but he's one of the five worst contracts exercise right now we'll start with no of no i just i would they would be looking for that that sort of deal if they can find a way to take it off the the money earlier or even take back up an asset if if it but then swallowed up a no or something like that okay oklahoma city to no one's surprise mellow as that into that option that was part of the deal they made in you know before people start killing mellow if he wasn't on the roster and his canter would still be on the roster unless they made another bill and i don't know why is talking like you might not opt into that he if he doesn't opt into that he's opting out of money that i don't think he'll make the rest of his career and kanter is not a complete negative he's a he's a bee's office of boards and you know his all is this used to but the knicks should throw him up rate if you out of that option but back to okay see big thing here is.
