"And I was like, that's my HBK. There's the arrogant asshole Sean that we all know and love. So yes, Vince had said that he had ditched this idea for Mickey to wrestle me. And if you're in WrestleMania and not in a title match or match with a huge story, the best place to be is the star is working with the star, and every year they always have the outside star. Logan Paul and those type of guys, right? So it was really cool to be considered for this because I know I can steal the show. I'll be an Entertainment Tonight and I'll be on The Tonight Show in whatever it was. Problem is Mickey, let the cat out of the bag. I think he was a little bit buzzed before he was supposed to. And they were going to wait until the end of February until the votes for the Oscars had been turned in. Because Mickey's agent agency thought that if you are going for an Oscar, you can't go into wrestling, like this low level wrestling stuff. It's going to look bad and you won't get the votes that you should get to win the best actor. So they were mad at him for letting the cat out of the bag and they pulled him off the show. Which was a drag because it was like once again I was I was excited and then it went away like basically in one day. So I did the Larry King show, which was a really big chat show in the states. And Mickey Rourke was on via satellite and Vince told me go on the show and try and go to him into doing the match. Try and get him so mad that he goes my agents. I'm going to do this match. So I was like, okay, if you guys go watch the YouTube, I am the biggest asshole ever. And the best part was I was backstage at the Rosemont horizon. The Allstate arena in Chicago at a Metallica concert. I was going to see Metallica like Vince wants to do this silent interview. I was like, I'm going to Metallica. And we'll sit you up backstage or whatever. But I had a couple drinks too. So I was like loose up, you know what I mean? This guy. So I went up there and I was just like, you're a coward. You're coward work. You could never do what I do. Shut your mouth, you're a coward. You can see it's kind of like. But he still, because if you know they make you rock, he was a big star. He went off the rails, and this was his big comeback. He did the wrestler. They needed Iron Man two. He did a couple other things they went off the rails again. But for a while, he was saying, this is my second chance. I'm not going to blow this. So he was sticking to the script. Don't do the magic. Don't do the message. So I say afterwards, he said, what do you think? He goes, you're way too stiff on him. I said, you told me to be stiff, not that stiff. Come on, Chris. So then they come up with this idea that Vince called me, which he didn't call me often, but when he did, you knew there was something big instead I got this idea. I'm going to have you wrestle the legends of the WWE under the same angle that we were going to do with the wrestler and that these are guys holding onto the spotlight too long. They just need to disappear. I said, well, who do you have a mind? He's like piper, snuka, and Greg Valentine. Yeah, dude just said ouch. Welcome to my world, dude. Yeah, this was the problem. Now, all of those guys were huge stars in their own right, obviously Roddy Piper, one of the absolute greats upon all the greats, but none of them were ever really known as great workers, maybe snook at one point, but he was far past his prime as all of them were. But they never really did much. And I was like, what am I gonna do with these guys? I'm not trying to be funny. I have nothing but respect for the brothers that came up before me, but as a professional and myself at WrestleMania, it sure sounds good in theory and in story it'll be good, but what am I going to do once the match happens? This is Vince. It's not going to be good. It's not supposed to be good. It's WrestleMania. Who cares? Why care? What do you suggest then, damn it? So I said, I said, how about Jerry Lawler? Because I knew that Jerry could still work a match. I could do something with him. I said, take out Valentine. Sorry, Greg. But put in Jerry, and Vincent said, that doesn't fit the criteria. So what do you mean, it doesn't fit the criteria? What criteria? The criteria that I've decided on. The criteria that you've decided on that nobody knows about you. All right, what's the criteria? The guy has to be had to have been in the first WrestleMania. And has to be in the WWE Hall of Fame. Those were Vince's rules of who could be in this match. Once again, no one else knows these rules just fence. I'm like, Lawler, he's like, it wasn't in the first WrestleMania. All right. So then I'm thinking, who did I mention earlier, guys? If you've been paying attention, my three favorites, Owen Hart, Sean Michaels and who was the other one. Exactly. So I was like, Ricky had just started back with us as like an agent backstage. What already steamboat? He's like, I don't even know if we own his name. And I said, well, he was in the first WrestleMania. And he's going into the W Hall of Fame this year. Like the four WrestleMania. He technically fits the criteria. So we found out that we did own his name or actually Ricky on his name because he had some issue with his ex-wife who stole his name and he finally got it back. So then it was official. It was going to be snuka, piper, and Ricky steamboat, one of the all time greatest workers ever who even at 58 was better than 80% of our roster at the time. And at least then I knew I could do a match. So I'm excited. I'm ready and plus this Ricky steamboat. We do this build up for the show and Ricky did a decent promo. He was never a great problem, but he did a good one. And I think I hit snuck in with a coconut maybe or bush the wall over on him.

"Would you blame them. You know i would you blame him so It was a great night there in chicago. I remember i remember the crowd. We weren't sure of the crowd was gonna react badly. They reacted big time. They're ready for chris jericho. Well this. big countdown finally pays off in the middle of the rocks. Promo boy. You wanna talk about getting thrown into the deep end. You're gonna go one on one on the microphone with iraq. This is a this is a real life test. Here is it not. Yeah yeah absolutely and also how do you. What is your demeanor. You look like you belong. you look like you're in the same Level as joint. Johnson and chris had that confidence that i can be a main event guy. I can work with rock. I can work with all stuck worked. Anybody and he could and he did so I thought it was phenomenal. Way to fantastic. Rita introduce him and he stood toe-to-toe with rock in that little promo battle and a lot of guys is very intimidated with a full house. There in chicago. there it wasn't rosa. What is it. Call now. A allstate arena. Yeah yeah yeah. So a in their man and he proved to get into deep water slim. Let's mention to that Well i guess we just wanna context when we saw when we last saw jericho in. Wcw where he's frustrated with creative. beating perry saturn in a loser. Where's address match and now he's interrupting the rocks promo. That's a pretty big difference. Yeah lexcen middle seat. Coach are getting that al seat first class or a private jet. That's better even showed you belong. That's what we wanted so we needed to see. Do you belong in the same age with the rock. And he looked like he'd been there forever. Unfortunately there is no real follow through or follow up on that moment with the rock He gets into a quick view against road. Dogg xbox ken shamrock and really the biggest thing of note is you guys give him a quote unquote heater mr hughes. I'm curious from your perspective where it is courtesy us come from in this jericho package. Well the fan of kurdish use a not for a long time. I used to kidney about. He was defensive tackle for a kansas state. Wildcats and of course being a maslakh you a You know kind of proud of my team sooners. You're proud of your team. That's crimson tide sir I used to call in the mile. Cats m. i. l. d. cats and he laughed a good good natured. Guy you know. He almost got fired after wrestlemania nine because he fell asleep in the air and coach and chief. Jay strongbow cities high. All of that guy. We got i got to tell caesar caesar course events we gotta get rid of this guy he. He derived to that conclusion by sitting cross the way with his wife and me. You'd five at connecticut. And there was curtis on the other side knows and all until we found out he had a he had a sleep disorder narcolepsy. Whatever they called up arden. Wrong but curtis curtis battle through it. And i like curtis. I don't know that. Chris needed a heater. That was this kind of trend at that time. You know diesel mccain shawn michaels heater. This guy's got a heater. I don't know where that came. Oh the heater ricky. Major league So i i didn't think we needed it but look if it had clicked better bigger than i win. Jericho's getting special treatment getting handled creatively. Well so The curtis is a good guy. Curtis getting ready to write a book which should be very entertaining economic. He wants me or to it. But it's interesting you know. He was corrected he was a black man and an orlando white decision. Makers and so. I got time for kurdish shoes by just didn't think that was the cashing for him. He should have been a big monster heel on his own. In my opinion it doesn't last long. He's going to come. And go in this jerko package pretty quickly and then howard finkel winds up being lackey and frankly this isn't the top level guy run. He probably envisioned when he's interrupting the rock after this big millennium man countdown. In the rumor and innuendo at the time was he wasn't being given rave reviews of his work and allegedly one of his biggest critics behind the scenes was triple h. And we've heard a lot over the years that even if you come in to the world wrestling federation which was time of course if you didn't work. The wwf style candidate matter in terms of well you know. This guy was over in japan or he was over in mexico or he was over in. W w well they didn't exist. Conrad the story was there was a different style and you had to learn the wwf style. Do you agree with that. Or was that just nonsense. I think he needed to learn the ww f. e. whatever you wanna throw in their field the atmosphere of the society of wwe. Yet i understand. There are certain things you could. You should do. Should not do there. and i think i just i don't know i a i don't know triple h didn't like him because he's shorter and his hand and some somebody's are gonna get They're gonna get you know. Figure out what he's what he's all about. And all that stuff. But i our off that i thought for guys smartest. Paul eveque is i saw. He's getting better issues. Which is great you know. He's so smart insi- calling the name of the cerebral this on a on an entrance. This love you. That's good shit. That was one of my favorite things he said to me years. That's good shit of good shit..

"At energy savers dot gov Saint James and as we reflect on the 20th anniversary of 9 11 what do the next 20 years look like And how much will people actually remember Monday morning On a 90 wls I'm just trying to reflect on the next 20 hours Why I got a big show tonight I'm going on to the Allstate arena Blake Shelton I invited you I know and I adore him I know you do And I had to pass as for you to meet him It was going to be your surprise What You don't tell me that Well I know but it was going to be a surprise and I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to you know I hate surprises Can I tell you that right now Well it's good to know that now Hate them Okay Wendy Snyder here Ray Stevens right here And there are some jobs scams going out there on social media Steve Burnett joins us now President and CEO of the better business bureau of Chicago and northern Illinois Steve unemployment has run out It is now pretty much gone for many many people so there will be more people looking for jobs but there are scams out there involving that Unfortunately it's true when the wake of the pandemic millions of people are still unemployed And looking for jobs now in the scammers have really moved over to the websites of the well-known job board So it's really everybody posting their resumes and going to those wet boards and what happens is that they say they got these great jobs for you and they call you up and they're a little bit more elaborate now They're actually doing an interview process I mean they're going to that extent where you're talking to three or four people so you think you got this great job but they need your social security number they need your checking account number they need you to send money you then move them money to buy a phone It's just getting out of hand Wendy This is really unbelievable So it's that involved I thought it was just like a link or something This is why would anybody pay money out I have to ask that I talked to a person today and actually I sent a copy over to your earlier today It's basically the individual that young kids thought he got a job He was so excited but he said you need a phone for your job Well that's great I can buy your phone and you need an iPad So it goes out and buys the iPad and the iPhone And he says you got to ship it to us We got to install software on it for us And we'll send you to check for it So it's going to check for the check of course bounces It's 15 days later So he says the iPad and the iPhone of $1800 over to this company in California and it's gone And I think because there's a new twist when it's like every week that's why we issue so many warnings there isn't really We can't keep up with them It's like every week is a new twist to a scam And now it's jobs game It's the most riskiest game out there right now today You know what's funny you mentioned that because I talk with you off the year and I've been getting just in order amount of influx in calls spam calls things like that I got an email the other day from somebody saying congratulations your PayPal is just approved you buying a $1200 iPhone and I didn't respond to it and I immediately checked my PayPal just to make sure that there was no money taken from that but it was similar to what you just talked about It's like okay well here's inferring that I've done this The contract is done and then you can just tell by the way it's worded though in this instance that it's something you.

"Vip member from south. Bend indiana justin. What was the job like at the allstate arena for the money in the bank. Pay per view mate vent of sam punk versus john cena. I came over as purely electric on television. That was one of my top matches in the post attitude era. He's got questionable with that. When you talk about moments that you remember and you talk about all the matches you watch. And yeah i mean they become a blur. I'm a kid. I remember thinking. I bet these wrestlers remember every match. They ever have in every finish when you're eleven you don't have as much history so you you know first of all when you're a kid in your eleven you don't remember being four so you have like five years to remember everything and everything is new and also a lot of a lot less big matches back then because if you think about it he was Pay per views. What once a quarter. So i could tell you the the lineups and different things that happen on all the papers like ninety one ninety two ninety three but if you ask me to name anything about you know backlash in two thousand three i. I know there became so many reviews and so many shows. It's hard to take out. But he just brought a money in the bank. And that i just mentioned was one of my favorite moments The it was really cool. It was so different it was Sh- everything surrounding. It was really cool and then to be in chicago in the rosemont horizon which that arena smaller. It's definitely a smaller arena. But it's also got the chicago thin and this chicago pens are among the best and standing in that rate with everything that was going on bonds and in the storylines and punk music. it's and seen as music hits at plays was incredible. I think pumpkin come up first and the engines was awesome. And he's just sitting there the music playing the crowd's going crazy and then see plays goes crazy again. It's just everything around that you could just feel that in the rain And then again. Back to what i was allowed to do and allowed to do wasn't allowed to to give the appropriate introduction so sometimes it would be okay. That'd be able to get away with it sometimes. I couldn't it just depended where i was with the company at that point You wanna give a huge introduction for punch you wanna give a huge introduction foreseen. because that's what goes along with it that's finish the atmosphere that's the characters But sometimes you knew that you had the head coach on and you were allowed to give that huge introduction that would be fitting for that moment so i hope. I never took away from that. It would be hard to But sometimes i'd be allowed to give a good introduction. And sometimes i wouldn't so just you know that was. That was all part of it. I just feeling that night. I wanted to give huge introductions because that moment was like no other before we get to anti second question. I wanna ask a follow up on that. How often did you work with or here from wrestlers themselves about how they wanted to be introduced. Did you ever add an inflection to a name and have that wrestler tell you afterwards i love that or can you dial that down a little bit or accentuate this aspect. A little bit differently. Would you believe me if i told you that. I can't recall anybody. Ever bring it up about their introduction Interesting i've been asked me from this tonight. 'cause my actual hometown or hey can you to fit this in like we tried getting like the big guy in farai back i would throw little things I would joke with curtis axel. Because i would whatever reason just like us a minnesota accent when introducing him from minnesota. We would joke about that. But i don't think anybody was ever like he. He do that again or you. Which is it's crazy but it's true but no no protests either. Nobody gone You know like being overly critical or being talked about bullying. And i know you're talking. Mostly about management But did you ever experience wrestlers looking down at you or being dismissive of youth treating you like you're invisible or in the way like what was the attitude of in general or maybe you can't speak in general because there was such vast differences in how wrestlers treated non wrestlers who contributed to the show on or off camera. Oh yeah when. When i first came in it was bad it was totally different. Era back then Anti bullying campaign going back that that was a much different time. But yeah i I eight eight dirt for a long time But even even as even as time went on there still always that hierarchy of you know really your ring announcer you don't take any bumps And that was the mentality and some guys thought that way. Some guys would say which i can see it from their perspective. We're going in there or killing ourselves every night and you know you just what do you do But then other guys would say. Hey you're making all these sounds you're You're on the road night after night city. Three different cities three countries in one day. You're you're doing the deal your hotel hopping and different rental car. Hotel different You know whatever every day You're in the trenches with us so it just it depends on the guy. It was more of an old school mentality. Where if it was your ring announcer. And then i think it's time went on And it became accepted into..

I don't think my computer will even look that up and also backed the Toronto Film Festival kicking off. Yeah, That's a big deal because it only happened virtually last year and the Toronto Film Festival is North America's biggest Film fest. You know, we've been hearing about the Venice Film Festival we always hear about can But here in North America, the biggest one is always in September. Always right around this time of year, um up in beautiful Toronto. Normally, I would be there previewing movies and interviewing the stars of those movies, But we haven't gone for a couple of years now because of The pandemic, but they did premiere the movie that kicked it all off. Is the movie version of Dear Evan Hansen, which was a Tony Award winner on Broadway. It started Ben Platt. He is in this movie version. It's not like they took the stage version and filmed it. They've completely restage that. With Julianne Moore now in it, and Amy Adams, and it's just one of the most beautiful and powerful musicals you will ever see on stage and I've already seen this movie version. In fact, I interviewed Ben Platt a couple of days ago, and we're going to share that interview on my Sunday show this coming weekend, But this movie version just takes you inside closer into everything that's going on. That you know the movies can bring you in close on different emotions and things. So when this movie comes out at the end of this month, I'm going to be highly highly recommending it. But that was the movie that kicked off the Toronto film fest last night. I was reading about the Diana musical. What do you know about this? Well, I haven't seen it yet. They haven't seen a trailer for it. It's not supposed to come out. It wasn't supposed to come out till toward the end of the year. But Netflix now has announced that they're going to be releasing it. On October, the first So they are going to let it go a little bit earlier. It's a musical. That is about the teenage years of Diana, Princess of Wales. So, uh, you know if if you want to see the trailer, it's up on YouTube, and it's not hard to find But it's a musical based based on the life of, uh Diana Spencer 19 year old Diana Spencer in this movie, so yeah, and this movie, it will be on Netflix. And I cheated. I did Google. Bobby Rydell had hits with Wild one. Forget him. He also did a version of the Lari Lari Mhm and you can see him in Saint Charles. What night is he? Uh, let me check my Bobby Rydell file. Kata kata in on Sunday Sunday. Yeah..

"99% of all other football staff are vaccinated at least one shot, if not fully Yet you have a team like Buffalo. You have a team Minnesota their coach. Call them out multiple times. Do you think the vaccine issue could drive a wedge into a locker room or No guys will just don't work around it. Absolutely. It could drive away, especially if you're losing a key guy, Um, on your way to trying to have success. Look, man, It's all good and all season to say, Hey, I respect everybody's approach to the vaccine. I respect how guys are handling it, but paychecks, paychecks change narratives. And now we end today, Thursday tonight. Tampa Dallas Cowboys the rig deposited on Tuesday and Wednesdays and we guys personal choices. Have the potential to stand in the way of that. I'm a proponent of getting vaccinated, but I'm also I'm also a proponent of guys making their own decisions, but but realize that those decisions have consequences not only to you is a personally not only to the people around you, but also when we're talking about the NFL. It has an impact on your football team and your availability and I don't know when availability. Became such a small order in the NFL. It's always been a big deal to have your guys available, and when you have these possibilities of not having them, that's something that you take into account, and that's something that the rest of your team who potentially are vaccinated or more majority of your team is vaccinated. It was not easy for Patrick in rookie train in rookie minicamp in training camp the first couple weeks of the season like, you know, these guys are just learning how to, um, call playing the huddle. They're learning how to take a snap under center. The other day in OTAs. You know Justin's trying to learn up or learned the timing of when he brings a guy in motion, And if we want a quick ticket and have the guy hit the motion and run a shallow cross on the run Instead of letting them stop and then go like that. There's a difference to bring in a guy in motion and letting him hit it on the run versus Bring a guy emotion, let them get set and then go. We don't want that. So as simple as that sounds, and he comes in and knows for 10 years. I want to bring the guy in motion. I want to let him quick ticket and hit it on the run and not let them get set. Well, Justin still trying to learn That stuff. And so those little things can take the play and make it just a little worse If you don't do that, so Justin's done a phenomenal job trying to get better at that. What it takes a little time. And that's where this instant gratification world that we all live in. I get it. I understand it. But if we're if we're real in this thing, and we look at this thing, and we say, what's the best thing for the Chicago Bears? And what's the best thing for Justin Fields? We all need to do our best to have just a little bit. I'm not asking for a lot a little bit of patients. And if we do that this thing can get done the right way. And if we don't do it if they won't get done the right way, and then we're all gonna be looking at ourselves saying, What the hell are we doing with Justin Fields? I understand his point. I do. I understand what he's saying which point it was three minutes. That was I understand where he's coming from. I just hope to God Andy Dalton is not What's his name? The giraffe. Mike Glennon. Yes. You know what I mean? Like, okay? Fine. I get what you're doing. Is that guy? You're putting out their competent a lot of explanation. Lot of explanation. Yeah. Lot to unpack caps a lot there what he said. My whole point, though. What matters like you could just gave us half of that. You're not to explain specifically what justice Justin just has to learn. He thinks he needs to learn more. That's fine. Hopefully you're teaching him the right way. That's all. That's where I am with that. As long as you're teaching them the right way, because again to the average bears fan, right? That's not firmly entrenched in the Bears like you and I every day. We're talking about it right or reading everything. We're finding. I was having a camp. We're just the average person with a family that says it. Justin feels ready or not thumbs up or thumbs down, right. They know that Travis Key. Well, for better for worse travesty was a guy that was supposed to be the guy that now you're supposed to mold and shape, but it didn't work out and to the average fan they're like, hopefully Justin is not Mitch that that you're not leading him in the wrong direction. That's fair to say. But Matt needs to get this right. Otherwise they all need to be gone. Correct. If they don't develop this guy, right? They're all gone. Period. I didn't like you don't. I don't need all that explanation about what Justin isn't doing. Right. I don't need all that. I like that. I like that, he says. Here's an example of something. He's got to be better at that. He's got to learn that he's never experienced. Did he ever call playing the huddle or was everything shuttled in him? Here's what you're running. Did he ever take a snap under center? Did he ever do this? Did he ever do that? Those are valid points. What if match wrong? In that evaluation just from that clip. What if he's wrong? I don't think he can be wrong there. Sure you can't Sure he can. How can he be wrong? Because it's a different athletes, a different type of quarterback that he's that he's coaching. Then Mitch or Andy Dalton. Maybe what he gave the example of is that maybe Justin can be able to run out of that issue. Maybe he can be able to fix that issue differently than the other quarterbacks Because it's different. He's more athletic. Don't disagree, but he still wants him to learn certain nuances about the position that he didn't do in college period. We have something to give away. We do We do Monster jam. That's right. So how about we take caller 10 Right now? You want to go to Monster jam at Allstate Arena, Danny. Carmen, you will be in a suite with them. Caller 10 right now, 3123323776. "I think what the interesting things to talk about here is how our concerts going to proceed. And for that we have the perfect person to talk to. Jerry Michaelson is the owner of Jam Productions. Legendary jam productions here in Chicago. Jerry. Thanks for calling in to WGN. Appreciate it. You're welcome. Thank you. What is? What do you make of what happened with Cove with Lollapalooza and the covid concerns? Were you a fan of that going on the way it did. What do you think about it? Look, I think that it's good to open up the city. Um I think that the mayor made the right choice. Um, because life has to go on and we can't sit in incentive. Our our apartments and homes all the time, so I think was the right move. Um, you know, we're dealing with a virus that's ever changing with different variants. And, uh, I think that everybody expected a little different outcome. Um, because so many people are not getting vaccinated, so I don't think anybody could have predicted that That percentage would be so high that 90% you mean of the vaccination rate at La LA is every time Well, not not that just that that that the variant is living and breathing because so many people haven't gotten vaccinated. And I don't think anybody could have anticipated that back when you're making a decision about whether or not to open Lalla or not. Yeah, I hear you on that jury. So I wonder. How does that impact concerts going forward? What kinds of decisions to be made your front and right in the middle of that? What are the considerations? How's it going to go? Yeah. So we don't look, we're won't. Well, it's kind of a, you know, trying to hit a moving target. We're certainly going to follow all of the CDC guidelines and the cities and states. Um, um as well, Um, so, for instance, you know, now we have to have all our patrons wearing masks, which were fine with Um, So that's what we're doing now. The next steps are going to going to, you know, be prescribed to us by by the powers that be and will follow those as well. Um, don't forget that they had to shut down in March of 2020. And and we just reopened so You know, whatever they tell us to do. We're perfectly willing to, uh, go with the program. Yeah. And are there Are you hearing from anybody like concert goers about asking about the safety and things like that, or is Are people just saying, Hey, you know, I'm Baxter. I feel good about it. I want to go to concerts. Time for me to live my life as you just mentioned. Are you hearing much? You know, questioning from the concert? Gore, you know concertgoers in general, about what kinds of things you're doing. I'm just sure sure we're hearing from but we know we just opened this weekend. So we're not. We're not in the thick of it. We opened for some LA LA after shows. Um, but now we open up in August and really in September, So we're not feeling the brunt of the questions. Yes, but yet, but they are coming in. And and we are fielding them and answering them in the way that that hopefully provide a response that makes them comfortable. Um, I think it boils down to whether or not somebody is comfortable going out or not. Um, that's that's the key issue, it seems, is is if they're vaccinated, they feel they're safe. Um, and even if they do get the variant, they think they're still okay. So most people are pretty positive about it. Yeah, and I heard the mayor and doctor are Woody, who has been a very cautious person. Throughout all of this. She's an infectious disease expert herself. Talk about sure we will have cases. But if you're vaccinated, they are likely to be serious. You're not likely to get seriously ill and that she felt as if we could go on with this whole thing. The mayor cited Wrigley Field's been packed socks. Park's been packed. Why not Grant Park for this kind of a music concert? Kind of signaling that, you know they're going to be okay with things moving forward? If law can be done, and a lot of folks call that the largest event they've seen the United States since Covid began, Uh, I haven't fact check that. But it just seems like a lot of news organizations are calling it that it was certainly huge, nearly 400,000 people over a few days that I guess people may be looking at what happens there in the next 10 days or so to see right that that matters. I think you're correct. Just as people have been following, Um, what happened after them All the bucks rallies after they won the NBA championship. So you know, that's been a topic of of of of the in the news lately, So, Yeah, everybody happened there watching every year. I never heard anything. Well, I believe that the the infection rates increased after everybody was outside the arena after they won the championship. So I think that that's to be expected. When you have that many people coming together, right and and partying. And shouting in sandy shoulder to shoulder. I guess the other meaningful data would be to look at would be hospitalizations in serious illness and that kind of thing so you you've got to look at that to the United Center. I looked on online, and it seems as if they're not starting any other concerts until I don't know. Fall. It looks like September October, Things start getting back. Normal is that kind of true of most indoor places, the larger scale ones, or how would you describe what's happening? I thought they had something coming up at the I thought they already had a concert. But I might be wrong Did we couldn't see anything on the schedule for you Know, look at the United Center is a perfect example of a really good indoor building. Who's who? The city tested. As I understand it, the city tested their air and their air. Circulation and it was came in. And it was. It was one grade above hospital level in one grade below. I see you. So I'd say that's pretty good and and and and so people think indoors is not as safe. I I disagree, especially, you know if you take our theaters, which are older, older buildings Who have great capacities to take outside here from in and circulate it and get it out. So, um, I think we're moving air in a responsible way and trying to reduce the amount of viruses that that can be floating around. During Covid. We saw so many artists try to turn to virtual concerts. I don't know how well that went. How How would you describe it? And do you think that that's one of those things that will linger after the pandemic? Or as things sort of subside? Or do you think that's sort of like, didn't work at all? What would you say? I think I think you know, streaming and concerts and things like that are good. Add on. They will never replace the experience of being in a shell. So I think that people want to socialize. They want to hear the music live, so I don't see that as a a major alternative, But just as an add on to which we're already experiencing, what do you have coming up jury that you can tell us about? We have some great shows coming up. We have my factor in in a little less than two weeks. We have a a group called Brit Floyd at the Chicago Theater, which is one of the best Pink Floyd bands out there, and we have widespread panic. And we have, uh um Elvis Costello, November we have sylvan Esso. I mean, we have bleachers. I mean, we have a number of good shows coming up that we hope people will go out and and listen to. Then What are your venues again? That you're mostly you mostly work with Well, so we have the park West. The vic and the Rive And we also work at the United Center at the Chicago Theater, the auditorium Allstate Arena. So we're all over the place. Jerry Michaelson. There he is. The owner of Jam Productions, the legendary jam productions Right here in the city of Chicago. If you've been to a concert here, you've likely been to a jam productions. Event over the last few decades. Pretty incredible what Jerry and his team have pulled off..

You can watch on Twitter. I didn't even know it existed in a car. But all new cars basically have the starting thing. All of them hate the menu thing and then boom. I typed in 100.3, and it came in and hit HD two. At times, everything is fantastic. And what a sound Well, yeah, it's crystal clear. It's great Heavens, the beautiful the what car News broke Thursday. We were already gone Model and Sylvia talk. We were gone ready for the weekend, ready for a long weekend made along three day weekend. The the Bears released a statement. Saying that they had indeed. Made a bid to buy the property at Arlington Park from Churchill Downs. Lot of bears fans rejoiced some a little bit upset. I know Sylvia put a pole up and there seems to be overwhelming support for the Bears. Buying that land, developing their own stadium and entertainment district and moving to Arlington nights. The site of Arlington Park, which is going away. I would try to understand what the downside is. Well, the one most common one that you see is this very I don't quite get it. I never understand it. The Bears must play in Chicago. Their name is the Chicago Bears. And we've pointed out over the course of time. All the franchises that Miami dolphins don't play in Miami. No, they do not. They playing Davy The 49 ers do not play in San Francisco. No, they're playing Santa Clara. The Cowboys did not play in Dallas. No, they don't. The Jets and Giants do not play in New York. That's right. The Patriots are called the New England Patriots. So maybe that, But you'd think. Well, Boston they don't play in Boston. Don't even play remotely close to Boston. Guys play closer to Providence than they do to Bost. Exactly. Which is why we'd stay in Providence, right when we go there because it was easier to get. They're easier to get there from Providence. I mean, we could go well, you go on and on and going on. I mean throughout the whole thing, and you'll find out not every team is there. It's a silly argument. Quite frankly, not only that, but it's not like they have been only at Soldier field, their whole lives. No, they were at Wrigley Everywhere. They moved everywhere. Well, they started an indicator right. They moved to Chicago. They played at Wrigley. Then they moved to soldier, Sylvie pointed out, Uh, They reside in Lake Forest. Their headquarters, their home where they practice where they all live is like forest. I mean, this idea that they must play in Chicago is goofy. There is no worse stadium to get in and out of then Soldier field. It's the worst. I just now if you live downtown, like if, if you're Chris Black, let's say Even even blacks got season tickets have been in his family forever. Right? You know, black kind of was walking distance like I get it. Even Chris doesn't really care if they move, you know, I think He wants the idea that they could be a more modern team with a better product. If they've got this added revenue stream. I mean the amount that they sacrifice as a family because they don't own the park, and then they have to deal with the park district all the time. Is really kind of silly to operate the way they do in this day and age, so I don't see how there's any downside. The more positive things for all of us fans would be you're guaranteed a Super Bowl. Super Bowls. Probably. I mean, it's Chicago with a dome Final four guaranteed the final four. I heard somebody earlier today with Captain Hoodie talking about WrestleMania coming back. You can do a WrestleMania there again. Absolutely to be answered at Allstate Arena. They did up. Yeah. 22 Russell. Maybe 22 is that Allstate Arena? Was it? Yeah. I mean, why you'd want the smallest stadium in the league like that. You still have it, soldier? I don't get it. I did. The bigger thing is how many days a year to the Bears make money off of Soldier field when they go to soldier field. How many? How much money is to be made? How many days here would think 10 10 the days that there there 10 days? You want a facility and makes money? 365 days a year like Jerry World does like Gillette Stadium does or like what you've gotten Sofi Stadium, So Fi Stadium Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. You got restaurants in there. So while the stadium be closed, Restaurants are open, even in Arlington, The ballpark in Arlington. They've got a restaurant there. That's open all the time. Okay. And either you're charging rent, or you're running the restaurant. You're getting all the revenues from the restaurant. That's why the Cubs built that, you know, building across from the hotel. And like our buddies from, uh, Sundays a year, not 81 day. Every day. They want money. 365 days a year. I told you about the nuance in the NFL, right? The nuance with the NFL is if you sell merchandise that you're stadium, you keep 100% of the prophet. That's that's great. The Packer Pro shop is the pack of pro shop for that reason. You see how big that is? Yeah, It's huge. You sell it online through the pack of pro shop. You keep 100%. Wow. Even if they go to dicks and you buy a Green Bay Packer jersey that is split with all 32 teams..

"Okay. Okay. The most you've ever paid for a concert ticket, and was it worth it? Um the reason I say this is and I said the most I've ever paid was $125 for Rod Stewart. And that was a while ago he was doing standards s O. This was 15 years, probably at the Allstate Arena. This is get is a concert at the United Center. The tickets went on sale just the other day. Okay. It's a band is coming back together. What is he abandon hasn't put something out for a while. You should know this that thing we talked about it a week or so ago. Oh, you're going to Genesis? Yeah. Much. In the 300 level. Okay. All right. Wait, wait. Let me guess, I guess. I didn't tell my girlfriend. I didn't tell them how much they work. I just told her I bought him and it's the most expensive ticket out. Everybody 205 plus fees. 200 plus fees. Okay, see? Damn close, huh? Now I remember when the $100 barrier was broken, Okay? Do you know who I want to say that I want to say you the way you said it over and change my mind, But I won't say you too. No, no. Okay? Hell when hell freezes over to her all eagles, okay? Was at that show to the mid nineties. I remember seeing those tickets and it's like I was so pissed. I want to get cops or somebody grabbing. Yeah, I did not have access to him, so I didn't go. But it was like what 93 something so, But it was like, Are you serious? And you know, it's just been Going up ever since Now, I spent I didn't know what I wasn't it. That's where I was the one earlier because you, said 93. That's where I was. That was much earlier than that. Yeah, that's not when they reunited. The most I spent, I believe was one maybe 1 75 and I never bought him. I was living in L. A Van Halen got back together with David Lee Roth. I was right there at the Staples Center. I paid premium for about 15 rows back. I had to be there. Okay. I was always worth it. My wife was not happy about one ticket. I went public. That's probably why she was no, no, no, no. She would have been worse. It would have been worse, but Bye. That's way, huh? That's why, But there is nothing and a few other a few other things. But it was. Well well worth it. Okay. What? I do that again. You? No, no, no. That was a very unique situation, and I've been blessed that I've been able to get Just thousands of dollars worth of tickets for free. My thing is because I don't go to a lot of concerts. I don't mind paying that. Actually, if you want to see some right I really like Genesis. And Phil Collins has a hard time even standing up because he isn't broken man, As I said, And do you appreciate Genesis like the Peter Gabriel? Here's the real. Our party's The last like land lies down on Broadway stuff like that. Yeah, but they also have an album out called Trick Trick of The Tail album is one of my favorite albums because The 1st 3rd. 1st 3rd 5th and seven songs Your Grace, Clunk. I almost never listened to the 2nd 4th 6 that eight songs. I made it album to what would be worth that money that you just spoke of? If Peter Gabriel showed up and make you do all of that. They're starting the tour here. Yes, they are so out of going number one. I'm going on the second, and that could And that could be a mistake to because, you know, first puzzle shows of attention. I'm going on the second night. It's a Tuesday night, so we're gonna have to prop fill up that lead. Mike. Yeah, I guess that's gonna Mount Prospect and Josh. Josh, what's going on today? Hey, Josh. Yes, because happy Mother's Day because they help out to their tremendous my My. My wife is step Mom to my three kids. Yeah, yeah. You know, I'm actually a Presbyterian minister. And so we celebrated all of the ladies today because you know for the church world do without the lady. You're right about that. Yeah, well, hey, so calling about a couple of things. Versus Sadie, not big counter guys. But I did take my wife to go see the Foo fighters at Wrigley. And that was worth every penny. And that wasn't super deck. I was at that show, but I had an end. But that wasn't She was a good show that but it was Yeah. So and also calling about resting players, um, hated with a passion, um, with especially in the MBA. It is ridiculous. Um, 82 games. Remember when I was a kid going This was post Jordan. Um And I think of hoping to go see Derrick Rose's back. Then it was game 82. He's in play, and I was so upset. So you're not kid, but a little while ago anyways? Yeah, and I think it's getting is great. But there's from the data out there. Just show that You know, being tired is not being you know, hurt if you're injured, you shouldn't play right? You know, you know, and like LeBron lately with the high ankle sprain, we all know that is a horrific injury..

"The first inning yesterday. He did. Yeah. What is he, man? White socks with eight runs in the first inning. The 13 runners to the plate. You heard that right here on ESPN 1000. The, uh, your Chicago White Sox Saxon 13 batters and a plate hit for the cycle as a team. So the first three batters in lineup go two for two. All that in the first inning as they wouldn't 91 that yesterday. Biggest inning of the season. First time they scored eight runs and hit for a cycle in the first inning since 2002. The nine hits were the most they've had in the first inning since 1974. So That's the way to get a game. Look, you blink. Yeah, that's what can happen by the way. That was a nice presentation. Walk this way is Grandal's walk up song, their eyes it. No, it should be. That's about all they could do, Right. That's my point. I know that in Catcher's interference, which is at Colin's Got a call on that on. I don't think there's a song that involves catches it affairs. No. Yeah, I'd have to look, but I'm pretty sure we gotta find one because it just continues to happen. But the White Sox have won a couple of games. They take the first two in Kansas City, hoping to a win today, Lucas Giolito goes to the mound. We got a guy for the sweep. There was a guy and, um My Twitter you gives me at Fred underscore human near him at Xander Rocker. All one word one are in the middle, JP says, Do you think they'll be a Cubs game today? I would think that It's supposed to rain. Pretty steadily most of the day. So we'll see. Maybe they'll try to get they cancel the Allstate Arenas flea market Every time I pass it on Sunday mornings, it's packed. Yeah, and nobody was out there that was canceled. And I'm like, you know, free marketers are usually pretty sturdy people. Holy people. They weather the storm, but no. So I would say. No. Okay, well, that's the one thing is that they? You know, they're playing a team like the Pirates. Were they who they see a lot. So get the opportunity. No problem. So what? We'll wait and see what your if something happens. We'll let you know as soon as it does here on ESPN $1000 hanging there we go right to your 312332. 3776. So the White Sox have questions. Definitely not their starters. They're starting. No, no question about their starting rotation right now, because they're unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable scoreless. The starters now scoreless streak 25 a third innings, five scoreless innings yesterday for Lance Lynn, the rotation scoreless streak. Began with last inning of the third from Lucas Giolito last Sunday. Carry through. Dylan sees with six Dallas cockle seven. Carlos, who died six now Lin with five yesterday. So the Sox starters combined for 28 strikeouts and 10 hits allowed. In the last 25 in the third inning. It has been a beautiful fat problems were gone. Could arguably be our ace right now. I mean, I I know Giolito has earned that. But if we were just dealing on number on this year right now, right now, he was gone from zero to hero. Unbelievable story. Your thoughts on the white sacks the rotation. And can the way the White Sox hit Can that just connect? Cover up for And they went in spite of mistakes that the manager might make. Well, Fred, if managers don't matter, that's why I'm saying Yeah, because I know last night. You know how you avoid medic to manager making the stakes and costing the game's not home. You score he runs in the first inning. Yeah, and you just let him stand there and look good changes unless the less choices or decisions they have to make arguably Would help in this situation. We had a call around. Wait Sac's weekly yesterday, always two hours before the pre game for the Saturday game, and he has He said. I wish you would have just kept Ricky run Korea. Oh, shot on again. Me, saying the managers don't mean much. I never probably rent the real last year, People said what we need in that playoff game. Do you think Ricky Renteria sat there and did all that by himself? You think it was him? He you know, just in his home Had he goes, You know, there's problems in the first anywhere. Could take Dane Dunning out. We're gonna go toe bomber and we're going to go toe Cruciate and all these other guys. Okay, good point. But we talked about it as a group, but we really don't know and so win. Like when something happens with a company. Let's take it on a sports for a second when something happens with the company. The person on top gets all the blame right, even though you really don't know how it went down there, so it's the same thing in sports. It is so he got blamed for a lot of stuff that players loves him and a player seemed to love Tony LaRussa. We all thought that it would be a problem relating with the younger guys well, and we're hearing, though we've heard some reports, nobody's mentioning any names that were maybe a little dissent in the clubhouse over some Choices and decisions he's made, but I made the point. Are we always satisfied with her boss? Of course, we are here with Mike. Our our boss. I mean, we're always satisfied. Well, let's just say you're satisfied. That always said exactly s So. So when I hear there's a little dissent, it's like, okay, easy on the drama. Somebody was mad about something he did. Of course, that's life that's going to happen with the coach or a boss, or whatever the case if your cap Mike Thomas has never done a wrong thing in his life with your cap, right? But that's what he says. Exactly. And you know what he think, watches every TV I've heard heard the other day. If if Mike suggests a TV show to cap cap goes home and watches it Says You can really mess with captain all you. You sure could telling you this is a great show cap watch. The whole thing capped. Probably listen right now yelling at me. He's probably not walking near you the other day. What the capital of the managers. I hear me, Fred. Yeah, I heard it, and they don't need a snicker. They don't mean anything. Let's go to the south side of Michael Michael was going on today..

"Yes, that's a good sign down. Morning skate going on. So it looks like there will be action later on tonight. Columbus still in town after the game the other day on Friday evening. 21. Columbus went over the Blackhawks to the Blackhawks can do If I'm the Hawks at Lincoln and played pretty well, the other day you go, Lincoln interview. Go Suman today. Ah, I would go like as a Hawks fan. I think you just watched me like it that you're wanting to think I think Lincoln and has emerged as number one in Sudan. The guy to go to give him some rest. You still have Delia, But you know you don't. Yeah, I think he Yeah, I used to spend time in Rockford Rockford season, I think is about to get underway. Um, given has some of the lower like the wolves are playing their games at a smaller arena. They're not going to be at the Allstate Arena. No fares allowed right and I also saw the television is you're going to see the games on H l t v dot com But they won't have a regular TV station like they've had in the past because the facility doesn't Lend itself to television. So interesting. Yeah, I've got some friends over at the ice hogs. I haven't talked to them lately. I should probably catch up with them to see how they're handling this. I will tell you and people know this if they've read my Twitter or my, um Facebook over the last couple of months. My father passed away in December. But back in the day he was the executive producer of Chicago Bulls in the Chicago Cougars. Which was a WH, a hockey team that played at the international amphitheater when they made the playoffs One year they couldn't use the amphitheater because it was concerts or something else was going on. They played They're two playoff games and what was called the Abaco couple back. Then, instead of the Stanley Cup, Posey of Coke up against the Houston Arrows were at at the Rand. Hearst went ice arena. Right, and it was on television. So you could make it happen? Yes, you can make. That's why it was kind of surprising to me when I saw that, because all the advancements in TV It might just be too difficulty too expensive, but it had to be right now. That's key, right? They're expensive, and you know what people have been. I'm not totally sure, but you know, it's been skeleton staff for a lot of organizations. Since covert so, Yeah, So it's gonna be really interesting to see how exactly it all works out. They were at my TV and now they're not gonna be able to sell tickets and things were gonna change a little bit so that zoo wolves how he'll hear more that the hockey show right as far as Kobe a couple more players as of yesterday on the cove in 19 list. Bow down and Carpenter. So that adds to the other three that we talked about. It was Wal Mart both Qu'est in to break it to break it. Obviously we have resource is down. I 90 in in Rockford. But this is only the start It Z the seasons early. I mean, this is gone. Oh, the new norm. And right now, the Hawks are hit pretty bad compared to other teams. Well, they're well doubt Dallas was really bad. They didn't start their season until right. Yeah, for a couple of weeks. I'm saying this is the cycle around the league. There's no way that they're going to keep this. How did the NFL do it with more players? I mean, is it just because they had more players? You know they were 53 men roster. They have a couple players. Go down. Look, Denver played without a quarterback. One game. You know, all of their quarterbacks were down because they were the quarterback room. One guy got it. Contact tracing the other guys were all down s O. They played without a quarterback one time. Now you have you know the Blackhawks. They can't bring a guy up here. Bring a guy up there. The MBA has had situations with smaller, smaller rosters where they don't go sometimes because Because of things like that. But Celtics had a few games canceled. Yeah, Celtics have some of the other NBA teams have, so we'll see. I mean, they're all trying to get through it, and we talked a little bit yesterday. About when baseball's going to start. They keep saying that baseball will start on time. But then, um Maricopa County in Arizona said, Well, you know, it would be better if you guys didn't start the Cactus League play. On time. So that was scheduled to start late in February, which usually it starts the second week of February. With pitchers and catchers reporting and things like that, right there, no fans. They're not even considering fans. I hope I don't know if they are not when we just seems like take the fans off the table. Yeah, just take it off the table. That's easy. What you think, but I don't know if you saw this, and the Super Bowl of NASCAR racing is always the first race of the year, which is confusing. Daytona announced the other day that they expect around 30,000 fans to attend. The 500 on February 14. Well, they all show up here. I know someone who has tickets. Oh, yeah, And they gave him up there like we're not going this year. Yeah, Yeah, they're not going because of the obvious. So, yeah, they're gonna let 30,000 and we'll see how many show up it says here that would be the largest U S sporting event since the pandemic began. I know that the Cowboys have packed packed in Dallas is, you know Cowboys Stadium for some of their games to sully, not $30,000 and all they put up a lot in there. I thought I saw a number of earlier that it was pretty close. It was 20 something, if not more. So you know, I know there'll be people for the Super Bowl, too. I think you're gonna have 20,000 of the Super Bowl down in Tampa at the end, and like 7600 of them are going to be Yeah. First responders and things like that. Yeah. Vaccinated for a I think it's 18,000 total with 7500. Okay? Yeah. Yeah. So you know, my thing was Wait a minute again. Can we give them season tickets later? We kind of still need them. Yeah, well, she was the Blackhawks were in Nashville, though. I mean, there were fans and dash. Yes, they need a day off their fans in Florida. I mean, like any of the sporting events in Florida, I think have fans just smaller amount. And it's you know, I will be surprised at all this question came up a while ago. But when they allow fans to come in, first of all, the question is, When will they allow fans to go to games here in Chicago? And when they do, Will you be willing to go? Because the Packers did they had like a 9000 people for their two games near the end of the year that spread out TV wants the city to Grable. There is a number I would I I'd like to believe that there is a number for every stadium where everybody can spread out evenly and give people space. I mean the Daytona 500. I can't remember how much that track holds, but I think there could be able to spread out. They should. Yeah, most of those most of those holding 100,000, plus the way they could spread about, I think s O. B. There'll be a lot of people and you figure it's along. Stands your long at those kind of places we could find out what that both sides with the capacity is for Daytona 500. But yeah, there's a lot to discuss. We've got bulls to talk about black hawks, who are skating today. Their morning skate is going out at the United Center will talk some Cubs and sacks both the Cubs of sacks full picking up pictures yesterday. White sacks with a familiar pitcher..
