A highlight from (PART 2) Finding Our Identity in Christ as Mothers with Special Guest Alli Worthington (Part 2)
"Life Audio. Today's episode is a continuation of my discussion with Allie Worthington about finding our identity in Christ as mothers, and I chose to do it in the month of August because for many of us as moms, we're faced with a lot of changes in the next couple of weeks. Are kids going back to school, perhaps going to kindergarten for the first time, or like myself and our family, we have a student going away to college that means she won't live in our home for the rest of this year. And so I think for many of us, like I said yesterday, we tend to find our identity as mothers in our children, and instead we need our focus to be finding our identity in Christ. I pray this episode blesses you. Stay tuned. Hey everybody, I'm Dale. And I'm Tamara. We're hosts of the Kinas Project podcast. Where we help you tackle ancient Christian truths in everyday settings. A highlight from Finding Our Identity in Christ as Mothers with Special Guest Alli Worthington (Part 1)
"Life Audio. This time of year, kids are going back to school, whether it is kindergarten or college or something in between, I think it leaves a lot of moms with this sense of struggle because there's so much of our identity that is wrapped up in being a mom. And what does that mean when our kids aren't here? And so today I invited my friend Allie Worthington onto the show to talk about this idea of remaining you while raising them. It's based in her new book that comes out this month, and I really think it's going to be a blessing to you. Stay tuned. God's word will change our life, but sometimes it's hard to know where to start. Well, that's where I come in. I'm Jodi Nisnek, host of So Much More Creating Space for God, a scripture meditation podcast. And each week I guide you through a scripture giving you space to listen to the Spirit and pray about what's on your heart. Then we have a thoughtful conversation with guests to help us go deeper. "How much time do we have? Is that okay? Yeah, sure. Okay. So let me, how do I ask this question nicely? Or not nicely. Let me just ask it. Are women playing into men's carnal desires too much for how they act and how they dress? I Yeah. mean, of course. Of course, there are women who think that their value comes from their body or comes from what they can offer physically. And so whether you like it or not as a woman, you could say, oh, it doesn't matter. It shouldn't matter how I dress. It shouldn't matter how I present myself. But it does. It also matters to girls how a guy presents themselves. Maybe not in the same way, but it absolutely does. That matters. Also, at the same time, men are responsible for their eyes. They're responsible for their lust. They're responsible for their addiction to pornography. They're responsible for being masculine or feminine. You can't blame feminism for all of those things. We're autonomous individuals. You have to take responsibility. But the same goes for women. Present yourself in a respectable way. Yeah. I mean, some women are like, I can't find a husband. Well, why are you posting very revealing pictures? Yeah. Because men only view you then through the visual and they're not viewing you as something deeper, worthy of desire. They just are denying that. You've removed all mystery from the relationship immediately. Yeah. They don't want to get to know you for your personality. And again, you could say that that's unfair, but it is what it is. Well, men are visually driven, 100%. not That's admirable. It's real. And therefore, women have way more leverage in this than I think they realize. Just say, no, I'm going to save myself for marriage. You still want to be with me? Yeah. But most women don't feel empowered to say that. They feel as if they have to go in. Maybe I'm wrong, but there's a huge amount of regret with young Christian women. Well, they're scared of that answer, what you just asked. I think so many women want to be loved and desired. They're scared that the guy is going to say no. Yeah. But they don't understand men will go along with that because men want what they can't have. Yeah. Because right now, what they can have is cheap sex and free sex. And for the one godly woman that says, nope, got to wait till marriage, all of a sudden that becomes incredibly infinitely attractive to men. Attractive. Yeah. Because it's the one thing that they can't have. Ideally, find a guy that already wants that and is not going to Yeah, but that's not real. I mean, most men are not that way. Most men aren't, but it only takes one. Obviously, I married one. You were respectful in that way. No, I'm just saying just realistically, the pool of Christian men is not exactly elevated. We have our men's summit and we're very intense with them, right? Which is, let's just say it's different than our women's summit. It's out in the woods and all that. All right. So plug your stuff, Allie. How can people follow you? Relatable is my podcast. It's Monday through Thursday. You can find it wherever you listen to your podcast. It's distributed by Blaze TV. I'm on Instagram, Twitter, all that good stuff. I got a new book coming out next year. It's about empathy, the dangers of empathy, which we talked about today. I have a whole crazy take on empathy, which is it's not in the Bible. So I think it's a 1920s new age term. Yeah. Well, you'll have to read my book and see, Charlie. All right. We can have you on and talk empathy. I think it's arguing over linguistics in some ways, but I think it's important. So thank you for being here, Allie. Everyone check out her podcast and we appreciate it. Thanks so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks so much for listening, everybody. Email us your thoughts as always, freedom at CharlieKirk .com. "That's why we are here. Ali B. Stuckey, we're on conquered land at the Gay Lord Emphasis on Gay. Welcome. Thanks for having me. For people listening that don't get the reference, we are currently at a hotel in Dallas, Texas, where they have this massive gay flag on equal footing with the Texas flag. Yes, of course. It's just as important. I mean, why not? You're a Texan, right? Yep. Born and raised. How does that make you feel? What is your truth on that? My truth on that is that I'm unfortunately not surprised. Texas, even though it's a great, wonderful state with a lot of freedom -loving people, it goes the way of a lot of states, unfortunately, where we elevate self -identity to patriotism and being proud of your state. It's a sad world. Let me go through an objection that Awokey gave, who's a Christian guy, who says, why does it matter? Because I posted about it. He said, how is that impacting you? Yeah, that's always their thing. How does it impact you? That's how it starts. It doesn't impact you. A burger fell doesn't impact you. Boys going into girls' restrooms doesn't impact you. You're not in college. Why do you care if the man is swimming against a woman? Why do you care? You're not the one getting puberty blockers. But if you ask them the same question, do you care about issues don't directly affect you? You are not a woman. This man is not. But you say you care about abortion. If you're straight, you say that you care about gay marriage. Why do you care about issues that don't directly affect you? By the way, all of these things do directly affect us. As parents, in particular, all of these things affect us. They obviously care. They care enough to talk about the fact that we don't care. Isn't one of their mantras, an injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere? Something like that. Yeah, exactly. That's another one of the things. That's one of their sticks, right? Well, police brutality isn't affecting you. Why do you care? Yeah, but it's a macro issue, right? Yeah. And they call themselves empathetic. They want us to be empathetic. But when we care about issues that affect other people, like unborn children, all of a sudden, well, why do you care? You're so weird for caring. Yeah. And so the other question is, so they obviously care so much about pollution and the environment. This is soul pollution. Yeah. Like having that gay flag out there is, that's degenerative exhaust to our society. Yeah, of course they don't see it like that. They see it as liberation. They see it as self -expression. But I think we've seen how slippery the slope is over the past eight years. So let's go through something you said, the love of self, which really is a product of modernity. It's a cancer. Yeah. Where did this come from? Yeah, you know, if you read some old Puritan writings, really, the scripture says at the end days, people will be lovers of self. Romans one. Well, it's actually, it's not in Romans one, but it is basically the same thing as Romans one, that you're following yourself. You're following yourself as your own God. You're following your own feelings. It's an indication of evil. It's an indication of wickedness. That doesn't mean that we're supposed to loathe ourselves. That's actually just another form of self -obsession, but we're actually called Christians to self -forgetfulness, to self -denial, that things aren't about us for better or for worse. Things are about something much bigger and someone much bigger and better than us. And there's like a lot of freedom in that. But when you are your own God, like you are tied to all of your own feelings and all of your own cravings and all of your own desires, it becomes a very brutal slave master. And that's an unquestioned principle of modernity. Is that you triumph over duty. You triumph over an obligation. Right. Right. It's exchanging the God of scripture for the God of self, but it's also exchanging sacrifice for convenience, discomfort for comfort, everything that allows you instant gratification that makes you happy in the moment, whether or not it even makes you happy or a whole long -term. That is the thing that you are not only supposed to pursue, but that you have to pursue in order to achieve some kind of status of fulfillment. And I think that we see where that leads. I mean, rates of depression and anxiety and loneliness and isolation are higher than they've ever been. And the defenders of modernity in Christianity as well, there's plenty of Christian, you know, Christians, I put in air quotes, they say it's because we haven't done a good enough job of tearing down the racism and the sexism and the patriarchy..

Kurt Schlichter Reacts to the Recent Tumult at Project Veritas
"Currently getting some messages about the ongoing project veritas board meetings happening right now. There's some breaking news that some big donors from project veritas are threatening the board with legal action. One of the contentions against James O'Keefe is that they're really upset that James O'Keefe brought staff to go in a performance of Oklahoma. If you ask me, James O'Keefe could have brought his whole staff to go alongside of him and Fanta the opera. I couldn't really care less. That's not something to air publicly. Kurt, how should we think about this and what is your take? Well, first of all, I am a lawyer, but I'm not James. So Keith's lawyer, I'm not the board's lawyer. This is one conservative fight that I'm not involved in. Thank goodness. Because James O'Keefe and project veritas have done a lot of great work. I remember when I was working with Andrew breitbart, gosh, over a decade ago, and James O'Keefe burst onto the scene. And just did really did and has continued to do some really great work. So, you know, when I'm litigating things involving conservative entities, which I do, I like to try and take it offline where I can. I'll fight in court where I have to. That's okay. I represent my clients who are usually conservatives. And so I just want to get that out there. What we're looking at is I'm hearing a lot of gossip. I'm hearing a lot of rumors and allegations. I haven't seen anything clearly. I don't know what to believe. I don't know who to believe. But you have to understand, look at it this way. A project veritas is not James O'Keeffe. It is a separate entity. It is a, it has a board of directors, James O'Keefe, is the founder, but apparently he is not the sole owner. There's an order directors. Border directors have a fiduciary duty. That means they are legally bound to put the interests of the company ahead of everything else.

The "He Gets Us" Heresy With Allie Stuckey
"Stuckey is with us, host of relatable with Allie Beth stuckey from the blaze podcast network. Ally, I've thought about this. I've prayed about this. I was have not spoken out about this intentionally for weeks, and you actually helped inspire me to do so, how should we think about this advertising campaign? Well, I feel the same way as you, and as a bunch of Christians, when you see something like the display at the Grammys and you just see the open Satan worship there, it can be really refreshing to see something in the mainstream that seems to be reflecting Jesus, the opposite values of what we saw at the Grammys. However, I am equally uncomfortable with this equally as you are because it is the projection of modern political and cultural narratives onto the narrative in the gospel story of Jesus. And so what it does, rather than attracting people to Jesus, it actually distracts people from the gospel. Because you already mentioned, Jesus wasn't a refugee, but even beyond that, that is peripheral to the story of Jesus. So rather than spending all of this money, maybe sharing the gospel of Salvation of who Jesus really is, instead they are watering down who Jesus is, they are giving you a false Jesus. So while I want to be excited about any campaign that is promoting Jesus to the masses, yes and amen, I can not celebrate promoting a Jesus that isn't even real and is not going to draw people into the truth of what the gospel is.

Super Bowl to Feature Two Jesus Ads as Part of 'He Gets Us' Campaign
"Sunday is the Super Bowl. Can't wait. I love football. I love watching the Super Bowl. I have not missed a Super Bowl since boy, the first Super Bowl I remember, which was Kurt Warner, the greatest show on turf versus Tom Brady's first Super Bowl, the 2001 2002 super bowl. And a single Super Bowl advertisement will run you anywhere between 6 to $7 million. Well, an organization that is running ads called he gets us is going to spend $20 million for a Super Bowl advertisement this Sunday. $20 million. Now, you've probably seen some of these ads. It's the he gets us advertisements. Now look, I am all for getting people closer to Jesus. I love it. But is that what this is really doing? Well, let me play one of these advertisements for you, then we're going to welcome Ali be stuckey from the wonderful LB stucky podcast. I'm going to ask the question, is this evangelism? Is this trying to spread the gospel? Or is this open border woke ideology that is appropriating Christianity to try to argue for the dissolution of the American country? Play cut one 26. They've already poured tens of millions of dollars into this ad, play cut one 26. There was some mother in the father who had a son. They lived in a small village and didn't have much money. But they were happy. One day, they hurt the head of their country was sending soldiers to their town. Because he thought they were part of an insurrection. The young family decided to flee. "When larry elder gets a woman in a monkey mask throwing in egg at him and no one wants to cover it. And you don't have any statements from al sharpton or airmax kindy or any of your favorite social justice. Evangi calls none of them are coming out and saying see. This is proof that you know. Systemic racism is still alive and well. Yeah we see you. We see your silence. We see that you only speak up when it's a half-baked narrative about a white cop and a black suspect and you use that to try to push a political narrative we see you. It's all about politics and power. It's not about social and so called racial justice. Yeah we get it so you want to know what people are hesitant and listening to our institutions. When maybe there's a little bit of distrust like again when you've got big government and big tech and big business and big pharma and big media in each other's pockets silencing. Legitimate voice is belittling questions. Doing nothing to try to gain people's trust and doing a lot to lose people's trust. I mean it's your fault it's your fault. Those of you who are in those institutions and have parroted the contradictory propaganda from those institutions. You are the ones who have sown vaccine hesitancy. If you're on the left and you honestly think at this point that the authoritarian threat is coming from the right. I gotta say the call was coming from inside the house. My friend Now is the time. Take the red pill. Open up your eyes. See what's really going on and get ready by the way the pains me to say that. I don't think what's coming is going to be good like. I think that people are getting pushed too far because the right is eventually going to take back power. Of course we'll see what crisis. Democrats may factor in next year. That's definitely coming a year from now right before the midterms mark my words they'll create something to make sure enough people are scared into voting for them and that everyone's forgotten what is after afghanistan was but i hope you'll remember because this new right that is coming up in running for office really. Is it like the neoconservative of neo conservatives of years past to defect lists do nothing to complain about precedents. They are watching this new group of conservatives that are running for office. I truly think that they are watching. How the left wheel. Power relentlessly and unapologetically while the humidity. Millions of americans who. Don't make the choices that they want them to make. Gas lighting half the country into thinking that somehow despite leftist dominating every single national and global institution that they the eighty million americans are the real authoritarian threats. And they're realizing these This new batch of conservatives. I think they're realizing that they don't need to be afraid to use the power of the government to accomplish their goals in the same way that the left does so unabashedly leftist. You're pushing people too far. You are. I hate to see it. I love this country. I want unity. I want peace. I want us to go along to get along I want us to be where we were patriotically twenty years ago. That's not where we are. And when you have a president who is purposely stoking the flames in a way truly. I know that if you're on the left you're gonna laugh at this truly in a way that trump never did like you can say that trump was crashed. You can say that you didn't like his rhetoric that's fine. I didn't like all his rhetoric..

Chicago Dog Walk
Who Was Serial Killer Todd Kohlhepp?
"This week. We're going to talk about todd. Cole hep which i know you said you were not familiar with correct This he is a infamous case Murdered several people. He actually got caught because kind of similar to discuss. Couple of weeks at one of his victims ended up being rescued. And then it was a whole can of worms that was open and he got caught. So todd call hep. He grew up in south carolina in a very very dysfunctional home. I mean broken family. He was abused by his father. He was abused by his grandfather. As a child he was constantly moving from one place to another which created instability in his life. And it was kind of this storm of poor factors in his life that created this soup to create a monster essentially by like okay if you come from a broken family. That doesn't mean you're this crazy murderer if you move around constantly that that's not gonna make you a psychopath right it. But being abused by the male figures in his life adding with all of these things coming from dysfunctional household. They all added up to make this to make him into what he is. So you can look at it as we always look at the nature versus nurture right. This is a little bit more of a nurture situation. Because he was just hitting left and right with these bad circumstances he was not he was not taking care of the way he needed to be taken care of and created this everything that he was late. I mean to me. That's like the greatest debate and forever like in the world. I i really think so.

"I am second video. You said the with thai you'd be able to forgive you think that you have. I don't know that. I'll ever be able to say. Allie because it'd be much i'd be confident that i could. If the five and they use the term loosely. Men that crash. Seven seventy seven in the building if they had repented and came and said. Please forgive me when somebody asks for that forgiveness. My faith is strong enough. That i would. I could say yes. But they'll never do that because they're they're receiving their turn award now. So i don't know that i'll ever know the answer because that forgiveness can't culminate in that way it can only culminate of my own assessment part of what hurts about what's going on in afghanistan or what what has happened in the last three weeks. Is that while we may say that. The war on terror is over with a doesn't mean our enemies think it's over. I am not prepared to forgive the culture that train deployed financed and slaughtered in an act of crime but an act of war if you want to come to united states yep you can do that but you're gonna pay a big price for forgiveness is my responsibility. It is not my government's so it's not just proper role and function of government between federal government. State government county local governments. It's what are the the sword belongs to government. it does not belong to. The church doesn't belong to me as an individual. So when september eleventh happens i try to respond to it wearing a few different hats wearing the hat of a citizen wearing the head of a soldier and wearing the head of a believer. What are those functions. What's the proper response and had not been injured that day and had been deployed afghanistan iraq or anywhere else that my country may have sent me. forgiveness isn't my duty. It is to bear the sword against those who do evil to protect you at any cost and your freedoms life liberty and the pursuit of all who threaten it.

"We've got about half of the country that is clinging to this stuff and no data can change their mind. What you just described as an old fashioned stained glass window term. That's classic idolatry right. If you walked into this pediatrician's office and demanded that she removed the spleen of your child and said that the spleen point to your child's arm and said hey. My child has a really bad sore on their arm. That's their spleen removed. The spleen from their arm. She would say ma'am sir. Your child. spleen is not in their arm to know what you're talking about. She would she would. Maybe take you to anatomy book. She would show you an objective framework to prove to you that your psychosis your fear is not rational is not backed by any reason science or data that your child doesn't need their spleen removed because they have a sore arm right. That's that's what she would do in another context and yet when it comes to this symbol. This talisman she reverts to a form of humanistic emotion. Driven dogma sentiment. That isn't backed by any of that. Objective information whatsoever. It's the same thing you get when you. This is why i said earlier. The traditional then diagram here doesn't add up because i used to go after You know lefty physicians that would come on local show back in the day and argue for abortion and they would say and i would say well how do you know when life begins and they had no answer for me and i said how come when you walk into an oh are you accept objective truth you understand that you cannot operate on the patient based on what you think. The patients anatomy is but instead what the anatomy actually is. And if you act on your own instinct as opposed to objective truth you're going to kill someone and be sued out of business. But when i ask you point blank. Question does being with heartbeat. Is that person alive. You can't answer that when there's no more objective standard for determining life or death of a human on this planet than the existence of a heartbeat. It's because there's idolatry there and there is no objective reason or data that you can get to reason with people that ultimately is a spiritual problem and a lot of our people are in the grips of this. They don't wanna let this go. This is provided a form of meaning it also shows. Hey was i fooled by something. That's this is the the amount of idolatry that is at work and at stake here. It's it is absolutely breathtaking and when it comes to kids let me throw this stat at your audience. This will blow your minds okay last month. Cdc reported a little over..

"Well yeah and then you know the other thing is that If the other schools in your area aren't doing it. Yeah that's to your benefit right. But they are doing facebook ads. It's to your benefit to be on there as well so that you are seeing maybe more often or whatever and the other. I think the other thing that plays into this is the fact that the attrition in in martial arts schools is i would say horrid right where they're yes they are getting ten clients in but the problem is sometimes. They're losing eleven right off the back door and so or or or nine and a half you know and so. They're only growing a little bit at a time instead of massively growing and then just maintaining. I think that's another. That's another thing that holds school owners back because yeah you're right. Allie they can take those ten put them in a box and those are always paying for as long as you keep them in the us. Replace the ones that fall off. But it's the other individuals that keep falling off because they have what we call in our industry proverbial holes in the bucket record. They're not getting students to stay Four years with them which that's that's what their goal should be at the very least right. And what what you said though joining a attrition and retention on. That's not really sexy. So i mean a lot of people ignore it right there like you know. They don't wanna talk about that but really honestly if they were smart they would be three things. They work on new students existing students retention of existing students right and then special events most three items those three functions can make the school very successful but most people are so hyper focused on getting people through the door and not once in the door. They're not really focused on keeping them indoors there just a right it's that revolving door mentality into the front door back etc etc. So i think those are two functions that they really need to focus on now. That would be you know. We've already done a few calls of podcasts. On retainer should go back in time and look them up because we have so much information on retention. And i have to say it's like that elusive white elephant. You know people still don't they don't learn it. They don't pay attention to not looking how to get better at keeping people. They don't pay attention to that. Well they thought about all the money that they spent to get them. Yeah.

Oh <Speech_Female> my gosh see. <Speech_Male> I didn't even. It's <SpeakerChange> better that <Speech_Male> i didn't know <Speech_Male> daughter. When you had to budget for price te hand sanitizer and toilet. Paper burst orders. We can finally seek out experiences that we had been missing out on for over a year like going to concerts. Sports games going out to dinner or going out of the country but while we can have those experiences again the prices are going to be really jacked up these industries that rely on ticket sales have to make up for a lot of lost time. I'm i agree to like glass. Doors bola and so did she have a few drinks definitely with her. And that's probably why. She flipped off. Nick gage care. And then i saw her after the match and i was like mama. I went to the hospital after the match so i was like. Hey mom i know. I was going to hang out view and like buffalo but i i have to go to the hospital right now and she was like. Oh and then just like took another drink as i gotta go. Is that what you to go to the hospital. Because of your hands and arms were just like. I did not want to cut up to smithereens. I didn't want to go. But i had to like death match wrestlers in the back me. Yeah you're gonna wanna get stitches. Learn telling me that when those people have the time just duct tape stuff and go home. I was like i have to go. Those aren't super superglue cuts. Those are professional medical professionals. I literally could not stop bleeding. I could not stop. Bleeding was going everywhere. Like there's i have photos like that. People took a page like people over on their phones. And like there's just like a trail like all these it's like going to the bag and like that and so the thing was they got booed like that was a first time. Nick got just booed. And so i get the back and bradley. Y'all can you go out there. And take something from ricky real quick and a nickel make the save and i was like. Yeah well it. Can we hurry up man. And he's like going back and forth on if he wants to do it. Now's like brett. Make up your mind. Do you want this or not. Because like i've i've got this. I'm going to fight and then finally like. Oh my god. Yeah like never mind. He's jimmy jimmy go-getter towels jimmy waddles up. He has like all these paper towels and he goes to give me when he goes l. Advice himself everywhere their race. So that i could like like rat my art like this is like the scarlet had that lead so much like i wanted and it's like i had to get eleven stitches. I'm.

"At the beginning so it was just us. It was a secret etc And then the next show. I got to june and that was in front of like a small pocket. Fan says like three months while it's weird. But also i'm somebody who's like gone and done those tryout so it's like you drive to try out for beyond and all crowd is. Is the restaurants also trying out so like this is an awful. 'cause i liked done it before. Yeah but i don't want this to be forever. What are you doing for three months because it's not like also to me. It's like if you know that it's gonna be three months. You could probably handle that right. It's like i know there's another show. It's gonna be three months like the socks. I gotta figure out different ways to make money for three months but like it will come back those three months were. I don't know when anything's going to happen again. This could be reminded that to me is the part that i would have found terrifying and like do i need to quit. The business altogether is going to be wrestling ever again. It was everybody was like so worried and so weird out. Like what's it gonna be like when we come back you're like what like. What are we coming back to like. What can we do when we come back. And it's like okay. So now you know i we. I just done like two very packed. Gw shows and nyc. We february like. We did that run. Ricky run show all the crowd was hot and it was all and it was packed. And then it's like okay so we come back but we can only sell like this many tickets. And you're what i mean. Don't be wrong so happy to be back. But you're like this is new like this is so weird to be on like these caliber of shows. Yeah you're only selling this many tickets feels like you're you're like the fairgrounds again you're like oh yeah we've should be saving this show for when and they're like for when exactly you're like that's the that's the only thing that's been like obama about this as like i've had these matches like are wrestled chris dickinson at acid cup. And it's like really wish that was in front of a crowd right. I liked that. That's a match. I like like that's why i'm like. I'm so glad the joy match got saved for like this hot. Las vegas crowd like i would be so upset if i wrestled joe inferno nobody. Yeah yeah come on. Yeah it's tough. It's tough so you started wrestling in texas right. That's where you kind of was a nine years ago or something like that right. Mike h is wrong because there. I think there's another alley cats and they just combined your histories ten years anything because like washington. The other thing. I was like cool that she's been wrestling. This long. like longtime had never heard of this person like she must have really been like just slow and steady now started training six years ago. That makes more sense And then and that was kinda also before like like texas kind of booming right now. Every i oh look there's stuff going on that. Yeah the big state. How can there not be But that was before like you know people had their eyes on texas. So i was there and then Three and a half years ago. I left texas and i moved to the mid west so that could like drive. 'cause you cannot just like go on drives from texas like fourteen hours every weekend. No thank you wherever you wanna go. It's fourteen hours seven hours. Just leave the state. Yeah so happy with that. Was like yeah. I'm gonna move to like people that i was friends with. Had moved to saint louis years and years ago when they were like where i was So like. I'll do that to why not try that. Like a c. h. And like ricky and like all them like people looked up to you in texas. I was like okay. I move. Let me try. So i moved to saint louis indianapolis so i like trash. Kogo tried to nashville tracked. Cleveland drive to here and then it worked and people started being like. Hey there's a new girl. Yeah yeah yeah. She's cat all right. I guess goo. She's available for shows though we can book on shows like she can work every single weekend. Because you know you've created this this hub for yourself so when you went back to texas and you wrestled nick gage. I mean sitting there. And i know the commentary said it was a pizza cutter but it looks like you're getting stabbed with like a screwdriver or something in your head and i was like i am watching a person directly in front of their mother getting stabbed in the head and i'm watching going like nope. This is just a person in front of their mother getting stabbed in their head like. That's that's what's that's what's happening right now i fall. Let's truly my fault. Nick is like took such good care of me. And i wanted. I wanted to just be bleeding buckets. I wanted to just be like. I took advil orange on your color. Here's the thing getting the hairs blonde as possible so it can be like nature boy. I I lost mid match. What i was going to use to color. Oh someone last minute. Last minute was like no. Don't put it there. Put it here. And i said oh. Try something new during this very important match. Because usually i put it here. I'll put it here instead. And it came time where i needed to get ready and i looked and i went. Oh and there was tons of broken glass in the ring already you. That's the other thing that funny visual that matches like literally start the match with broken lies in the ring which i do love because i think it actually adds to like gauge. It gauge matches that like the referees and everything would be like. We're not even gonna bother cleaning the glass out of the ring because it just didn't get dirty again after looking around which wanted i picked up a piece. Let's try. And i told him. I said nick i lost my. I lost my thing. No can you and he and he just like we did this. Why grabbed me and then I tried to use the glass. It didn't really work. And then that's when he just did it himself. It was like yeah one do it. So he really did savvy with a screwdriver. But that's what. I looked like a screwdriver to was if later right in the crowd. I don't think the camera caught that. Yeah i think. I think i think the pizza cutter came on the other side of the ring where you just assumed it was a pizza cutter because it's like pizza but yeah the screwdriver is like like no. That's just the stabbing of the head with the screwdriver. Got one little trick. Do come on one little trickle. That's you know this is where the visual is like. This is where you want. All the blood ends up being my arms are what gets covered in blood. I mean make it they did. They did get a real good. Close up of that screwdriver. Going in like. I mean like it's it's weird 'cause like i am feeling it and i am like the whimpering and screaming sort of but at the time like all the adrenaline like didn't really. It didn't hurt his baz. I thought it would. Yeah but watching back in like would i do that again. I don't know yeah very scary. Well that's one of those things that you it's cool to do once. Would i sit here and be like. Oh i'm gonna talk to allie and bring up all three times. She took screwdrivers to bring the other time. That you take a screwdriver to the head at this point do you. I mean it was bro you when the rubbing your belly with broken glass was like most brilliant thing. I told him to do this. Yeah this moment. I mean it was it was almost it was poetic. But do you break your mom. Do you like look. I mean you couldn't embrace your mom because you didn't know you're extended forehead because you figured that you're going to you're going to need to get staff to the four hundred screwdriver. Told my mom like she. She like watches more wrestling now so like she watched it growing up. But not like. You're not like this And then i became wrestler. And so she would like watch my stuff and so just so you know like this isn't this isn't exactly what like you're used to seeing like this is like going.

"Like through tournament. It just got stuck in. His hair was great. It was great sierras. And then i got like that happened at the end of it and i was like no. This is what people are going to talk about. I don't want them to talk about being urged. The only thing i was like i don't care that i'm hurt care that this is what people are gonna remember now. The door stuck to his head like it. Was those like sticks coming out. There was a door but you also took the piledriver onto the door off the apron. That was another moment and the package piledriver. And it's like so you're like okay out of those three. We have to have something and then it has to be no no no you got it boss. We haven't they you love. The you love the piledriver off the apron through the doors of the pop so we like trying to think of something and he wanted to brain buster. Now it's like what sir scared. I don't know so i pitched the pile driver and he was like what he's like. I've never done that off. Eight revolt and i was like so we kept going back and forth and back and forth what we were gonna do do. And he's like. I mean we don't we don't have to know like we're doing something off the floor we're doing and we did the file. Ira we both were like. There's like this photo of me. Just like in mid air like wondering how i got here so that happen is like the mid air moment right. The i'm sure. You're wondering how i got here moment like that has to there has to be a thought process while you're in the air. Are you thinking this could be horrible. And if it is so. It's so weird when i wrestle it's like time is not a thing right. I don't understand what happens in the ring. When i'm wrestling but like someone could just pick me up for suplex and could have a million thoughts during that suplex but when i watch it back in like how did i think five things during that. That was like that right. So same thing during that piledriver i was like oh my god like i hope we make the door. I hope we do this. Like what if i slit like. What if he gets hurt. Like blah blah million. Thanks watch like schools. Doing you be like. Oh my god. I hope this go roaming cam like it's going to be on this million thoughts. I feel like a mere for five minutes. Watch it back. And i'm like how don't understand how it works but whatever. Yeah and when you're doing stuff like that. Is it frustrating that like. There's this audience that now that you know everything's on the internet and things are on video that like you. Can those moments means so much more than if it were just for the audience that we're there like so many more people can see it. You know and people all over can watch it but at the same time there are other people that are only looking at your super broad strokes so you can have this big moment in a match like that and people like on on and see that sort of thing you post it on twitter with the promo. You're i just everything just did. I tried to like make sure like the whole thing is because there are people who want to watch the whole match so it's like have a home match that makes sense good within its like net yelich now. I feel like obviously ten years ago to think about this but like now people now are like i gotta have that moment. That goes viral on twitter. Like that's like thing. Everybody has in the back of their head. Like what can i do that. Everybody's gonna remember from like ten years ago. People were like how gonna have match the night. Like how am i going to have to the night. The crouches loves in the proponent of loves. Now everyone's like how do i get the viral gift. Yeah i get that and it's very weird to think about. Because i still want to have like match. I saw i. I dunno. i still want my peers to look at me and be like that was great now. I want to rescue blah blah blah but also like gotta give like yeah. I mean just the just the fact that you're conscious of cam. Replacement is kind of a fairly new thing in the world of independent wrestling right. Like that was the story they would always say like when you end up on tv figuring out where cameras are is the new thing but like it's not a new thing anymore. Everything's on camera. So many people. Yeah so many of these now are like. Hey there's hard capsules like now. We like okay. Let me do my entrance to heart. When wanna come out or like. Hey i've got this really cool spot. Let's make sure we do it in this corner so that it shows up like this right cam like so much stuff like that now that like. Oh well i make sure. I get this over. So let's hit these ropes when we like it like a lot to like piece together and remember but but now at fans are. It's kinda like all. Well someone record it. Forgotten all about lake. Now we're playing. The audience is back. Let's just play like seven hundred people. Someone will get gooding how terrifying was a when the pandemic started and like wrestling just go like independent wrestling specifically just goes literally a away like it was months before they're even shows in front of no fans where you were trying to figure out like can we do donation system on the internet or something like it was a long haul of nobody working and like it's not like you're getting paid anyway right. That's that that that struck me as a horrifying proposition. It's like so much. I did the like acid up right like the week of the shutdown. It was like okay this is. We're shutting down let's do this show And it was no fans. Obviously it was like right at the beginning so it was just us. It was a secret etc And then the next show. I got to june and that was in front of like a small pocket..

"Dr miller. Thank you so much for joining me again. You are such a voice of encouragement for me. As i listen to you on a daily basis in trying to make sense of really what can only be described as confusion and chaos. That something that you describe it as often as well whether it's coming to gender identity and the sexual and moral revolution that you talk about so much you're just the intricacies of policy in court decision so first of all. Thank you for that. Can you give a little bit of first briefing. Courage meant to christians who really just want to bury their head in the sand and to not look at. What's going on culturally and politically and just pretend like none of it's happening because we don't know what to do about it. Do you think it's important for us to kind of keep abreast on what's going on and why looks great to be with you. Allie beth and yes. I do want to offer that word of encouragement to christians not to stick our heads in the sand and try to ignore or be oblivious to what's going on because it's not just that we we have to be faithful to christ in the midst of our times we. We have to understand what we're up against there but it's even more importantly out of love for christ's church for fellow believers for our own children and grandchildren need to be thinking through these issues even ahead of the culture in order to be faithful when the culture throws the the next the next weapon at us and frankly they're coming fast and furiously and just love her own children and grandchildren and the determination that they grow up and be faithful to christ. It requires that we be very aware of the things going on around us. i understand. It's daunting and painful. And it's complicated. But the church of the lord. Jesus christ has all the resources we need to confront these issues with faith and without fear. That doesn't mean that that we don't understand what we're up against but we respond with faith and without fear. So that's a good word of encouragement knowing the truth is a good biblical. Principle and denying reality is never faithfulness.

Should Christians Support the Death Penalty?
"Hey guys welcome to relatable. Today we are finally going to talk about the death penalty. I've been wanting to talk about this since january. Well i haven't been wanting shocked because it's a very sad subject to me. I don't like thinking about it. I don't like talking about it. But it is a very contentious at the moral and theological issue. That i think is important for us to be able to confront biblically and be able to talk about not just in the secular political sense by also with fellow believers with whom we disagree. This conversation was brewing. Back in january. Pretty heavily specially in christian circles due to the executions of several black americans that some people claimed were innocent or just claimed should not be executed. The trump administration actually reinstated the federal death penalty after several years of it. Not not being instated. There's been a lot of it. We've had talked about since december. So i just haven't been able to sit down in organize all the research that's required for it and even today we're not going to be able to get into every single argument for and against the death penalty. I really want to focus on whether or not there is a biblical backing for it or whether it is categorically biblically and morally wrong. This is a subject that i have been doing a lot of reading on a lot of research in fact when people were talking about it the most online. I didn't really talk about it that much. I was doing a lot of research. Because i knew what i thought that i believed but i hadn't really done a whole lot of reading into it in so like my husband can tell you i was up probably until like two or three a m one of the nights that all these conversations were going on online just reading this ethics book this christian ethics book That i have trying to understand all the different

Meanwhile for football learn right to one victory away via row puts them in the driving seat to win league given they have a game in hand. That's welcome to the show. allie moreno. You brought this up last week right. Let's say it's big boy time. Can you go to the basque country. Can you get something. Up against a tough athletic bilbao announcer. How much does that tell us about their title. Credentials told a couple of weeks ago then when we were discussing time and time again. Who's going to win this title. And at that point i was leaning towards reality either well kiss of death by the way. Athletic amari was the one that i said. They're not gonna win it and this is the reason why they're not going win. Think about the big games. This season the big moments in which you need athletic to really get a whole of the title to really say you know what we are worthy. A winning league got this year. And i go back to both of their matches against the the first one. That was embarrassing. How bad they were the second one in which they allow me to come back and tie game one. One eight just doesn't feel like athletic. Amari has a real certainty in a true belief that they were going to win. This one's them. Momentum started going in the wrong direction. they haven't been able to stop it and we thought well you know what they'd be very good wak- very good. Is that enough. No because we needed to see it today and although we saw a reaction and they were back in the game was one one. They were pushing forward. There's no doubt that is just all over. Go right now and eventually. They gave up a goal in a manner in which we would think that they would be scoring in a corner kick. How many times we the commodity late in a match the score of a corner and save themselves and get three points now. We're seeing it go the other way. So they're their scientific evidence that we as a martial arts school owner can turn to to improve our wellbeing writing an ns through technology and technology is something that is also especially in our industry still somewhat chinese a lot of schoolers right break. Listen even though as a ceo as a corner sparked. I still have ways to go to learn the platform. You know but. I think understanding that we could use science that we can use technology to better. Our current circumstances is a great place to start. I i said this before. We got on a call. But i said you know there wasn't there there there's eighty bc and now there's a s so it's after spark had not had sparked during this pandemic molly and what i mean by that is and i said this before we even got on was. I was spending a little over five hundred dollars to have all the software that i needed to do. What spark itself does and now has sparked everything is is housed inside of that but what was really beneficial was how how y'all pivoted and were allowing us to not only use zoom but you zoom with spark in a way that it was going to track attendance. It was going to send them the link. I mean there's just so many things that you guys busted your butt to help arm reminding us of zoom classes that people getting notice fifteen minutes. Early is just incredible. Yeah and so. Like when. Allie and allie. You you were on me. Because you're the one that i switched to spark 'cause i got you on the other softwares that i was using prior to it and The the thing is most thankful for. Is that one you you know told me to get off my button switch and when i looked at the cost that i was even that i actually was going to save being on sparks over five hundred dollars..

"Crime is on the rise in Phoenix, Katya is Allie better talk to the union representing Phoenix police officers. The community needs to know about this also because they're probably not keeping up with the numbers that from president of plea, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, Britt London, he says officers do their best to keep the streets safe and solve crimes. But the 70% jump in homicides reported from 2019 to 2020 should be alarming, with the numbers increasing from 139 to 200. A conversation on content and language
"We want to start this episode by getting to know our guests a little more. I have quite an interesting question here. That i've asked allie and d to think about so the question is how did you become interested in supporting subject teachers with english. Language needs of the students. How does this relate to your current work alley. Would you like to start. Yes so longtime gay back in two thousand and three. I became a substitute as lots of efl and temple teachers become and that was when i really became passionate about teaching teachers realize impact. You can have if you are training and developing teachers. And then if he is later. I was the head of a language school for the bell educational trust. That was down in kent in a place who bej bring a huge forest and in this forest. I was out of the language school on the same site. There was an international school. And so i also live manage the english teachers there and their role was quite different as it to. We didn't realize that to start with everyone was doing the same thing. And then through observations of subject teachers and the english teachers in the international school. I and the team realized that what was students at the international school needed was quite different. From what the students language score needed and so together we researching to kill some research into what those students who needed to help them. In their subject lessons the english language teachers really canes help to help skill the subject teachers however one thing that really fascinated me and something love encountered in most of the schools i worked actually was was a resistance to this change and whether it comes from people being concerned they don't know grammar enough confident enough in language themselves but it was something that really touched me and because i really feel so much to be learned from both sides and english language teachers and from subject teachers and yet there wasn't this cross pollination going on so after that i did my key ta i realized quite quickly seemed to be happening. Was that if you if you're not a qualified teacher. Actually teachers can be quite resistant to listen to a open. Maybe to hearing what you have to

The those <Speech_Male> resources said very <Speech_Male> plainly. I think <Speech_Male> we're <Speech_Male> under the impression <Speech_Male> here <Speech_Male> that they <Speech_Male> are is. The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner
Ben Silverman - Ececutive Producer of The Office
"How did you discover the uk version of the office. I was at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house. I was not an agent. I had left being an agent where i had found everything from who wants to be a millionaire to cracker queer as folk and had translated them into america as the packaging agent and i laughed. Backed by barry diller to start my own company called rally and i had just begun reveling in win over to london for a work trip and was staying at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house and we were watching television. And i was literally flipping the channels and i came on to the office. This is episode one or two okay of the uk season one office. Wow and i was watching it. I wondering if it was for comedy or for real than quickly recognized what it was doing single camera no laugh track faux documentary with people who felt real and i kept watching and started laughing. And it's really hard to make me laugh. And i was falling in love with the show in that moment and then i started thinking about it the next day in the morning and i asked henrietta if she knew ricky gervais as and she said no but her friend dan. Mazer did and we organized and had dinner with dan that night. Which are twenty four hours after you after you see it for the first time on television. You're having dinner with someone who could get you to ricky. Yes and additionally. I also wanted to be with dan. Dan was sasha baron. Cohen's partner allergy was on television. Was allie ardor your then no in the uk okay. But i'm with dan mazer yep. Dan is lovely brilliant in his own. Right and i start peppering questions about the office. And he gives me ricky cell phone number and so the next day. I call ricky around eleven o'clock in the morning and introduce myself on the phone and say i'd love to meet you. Are you in town. He goes actually. Yes me in soho at the starbucks this afternoon and i coordinate a meeting and i spent an hour with ricky talking about the office and very quickly we got along because we both love television and he truly was making me laugh even in those moment right over over the coffee at starbucks and so he clearly had chosen the location of the starbucks because he then says to me oh good news. My agent is right around the corner. Let's go meet with them so it was almost like he met me confirmed. I was okay roy. Conversation was interesting and then we walked over and met with dunkin' as his agent. And then duncan and i began a three month process to secure the rights. And it wasn't until dunkin. Help me unlock it. All that i realized. Both the bbc and ricky controlled the rights. I needed ricky and stephen merchant to actually get it done and agitate to get it done otherwise. It was never going to get done. Got it so you you deal with the bbc. And you deal with ricky steven. You have this partnership in place and where do you go into the united states. I immediately start making phone calls and saying. Are you aware of the show the office. Do you know what it is. Do you think it would interest you. And this is probably now a month after are so run. The show has started to gain buzz. It's aired its cycle in the uk. Its initial six episodes and so it has an awareness. Now it's a thing right not a big thing but to anyone in england it in the television industry. You're aware so. I'm i'm back at the states reaching out to people one of the incredible things about hollywood which was a huge advantage for me to do. Well was that people in hollywood are pretty insular and don't like to travel. They think you need a passport to get from burbank to beverly hills. That is travel and so many people at this time in american television had no clue connection about anything beyond la. Right and only one exac at the time knew what i was talking about was a guy named nick grad. Who worked at fx and he knew what the show was and he loved the show. Kevin riley was running fx. At the time. I'd gone to less mooned us he passed. I went to gail berman. She passed immediately. Didn't get it. Hbo said we'll never do a remake. They clearly have altered that thinking that that time they were like. We won't do a format and showtime wasn't doing shows like this right. I didn't go to abc. 'cause i just knew it wasn't abc. Right and i was starting to tease. Nbc with it and kevin than got named the head of nbc. And i bring it up to him. And i say would you wanna do it here and kevin says absolutely little. Did he know he was actually my only buyer that time. He was the only one right who wanted everyone else. All of television everyone else had passed. Now are you in kevin's like let's do it. Like let's let's make it. You know i'll give you a pilot movement and then kevin's boss though. Who is very involved in his life. Jeff zucker didn't really like it that much because it was his single camera. Nola back injury. I got it like it was a hard pill for them to swallow. I was also like they didn't want the game show back in prime time when i brought millionaire. Everyone thought that was cheesy. Daytime like no no. This will change. Tv know you gotta look at it from how to push the genre and pushed the envelope. So that you can expand versus always play for defense right and i was like this is another level and this is potentially transformative of television and with that can come great great
