We had a chat last week and i was learning a little bit about some of the things that you're doing and had to get you on the show right away so really excited to hear about that stuff but before we dive into all that could you just give us a little bit of info about your background. How you got into doing what you're doing now so my backroom actually electrical engineering electrical engineering college in optical h. I decided that the right thing to do was to go work in finance in new york for for a couple years it had nothing to do. That's the rumor and academia that i heard was like you can sell your soul and go make a ton of money and finance not that you have to sell your soul to go into finance to work on the fund problem of privatizing toll roads There you go fascinating in. Its own way but after a couple of years of it. I decided that wasn't for me. And i decided to go back to engineering so actually moved to boston from new york to work at a weird academic lab at beth israel medical center which is part of harvard medical school. Where the professor who had one apprise full coming up with a noninvasive way of tracking the progression of ls and he'll spin off. Stop as part of that. That was very data driven. Like two thousand and eleven. And i didn't know anything. That machine learning stats. Well you know. I've done a bunch of electrical engineering and information signal processing in college. I could probably convince him. Just take on. You know boston suppler. We'd breed in that. You know the kind of very research focused laura grant and frankly to quite cheap. "Dr miller. Thank you so much for joining me again. You are such a voice of encouragement for me. As i listen to you on a daily basis in trying to make sense of really what can only be described as confusion and chaos. That something that you describe it as often as well whether it's coming to gender identity and the sexual and moral revolution that you talk about so much you're just the intricacies of policy in court decision so first of all. Thank you for that. Can you give a little bit of first briefing. Courage meant to christians who really just want to bury their head in the sand and to not look at. What's going on culturally and politically and just pretend like none of it's happening because we don't know what to do about it. Do you think it's important for us to kind of keep abreast on what's going on and why looks great to be with you. Allie beth and yes. I do want to offer that word of encouragement to christians not to stick our heads in the sand and try to ignore or be oblivious to what's going on because it's not just that we we have to be faithful to christ in the midst of our times we. We have to understand what we're up against there but it's even more importantly out of love for christ's church for fellow believers for our own children and grandchildren need to be thinking through these issues even ahead of the culture in order to be faithful when the culture throws the the next the next weapon at us and frankly they're coming fast and furiously and just love her own children and grandchildren and the determination that they grow up and be faithful to christ. It requires that we be very aware of the things going on around us. i understand. It's daunting and painful. And it's complicated. But the church of the lord. Jesus christ has all the resources we need to confront these issues with faith and without fear. That doesn't mean that that we don't understand what we're up against but we respond with faith and without fear. So that's a good word of encouragement knowing the truth is a good biblical. Principle and denying reality is never faithfulness.

Should Christians Support the Death Penalty?

"Hey guys welcome to relatable. Today we are finally going to talk about the death penalty. I've been wanting to talk about this since january. Well i haven't been wanting shocked because it's a very sad subject to me. I don't like thinking about it. I don't like talking about it. But it is a very contentious at the moral and theological issue. That i think is important for us to be able to confront biblically and be able to talk about not just in the secular political sense by also with fellow believers with whom we disagree. This conversation was brewing. Back in january. Pretty heavily specially in christian circles due to the executions of several black americans that some people claimed were innocent or just claimed should not be executed. The trump administration actually reinstated the federal death penalty after several years of it. Not not being instated. There's been a lot of it. We've had talked about since december. So i just haven't been able to sit down in organize all the research that's required for it and even today we're not going to be able to get into every single argument for and against the death penalty. I really want to focus on whether or not there is a biblical backing for it or whether it is categorically biblically and morally wrong. This is a subject that i have been doing a lot of reading on a lot of research in fact when people were talking about it the most online. I didn't really talk about it that much. I was doing a lot of research. Because i knew what i thought that i believed but i hadn't really done a whole lot of reading into it in so like my husband can tell you i was up probably until like two or three a m one of the nights that all these conversations were going on online just reading this ethics book this christian ethics book That i have trying to understand all the different

Meanwhile for football learn right to one victory away via row puts them in the driving seat to win league given they have a game in hand. That's welcome to the show. allie moreno. You brought this up last week right. Let's say it's big boy time. Can you go to the basque country. Can you get something. Up against a tough athletic bilbao announcer. How much does that tell us about their title. Credentials told a couple of weeks ago then when we were discussing time and time again. Who's going to win this title. And at that point i was leaning towards reality either well kiss of death by the way. Athletic amari was the one that i said. They're not gonna win it and this is the reason why they're not going win. Think about the big games. This season the big moments in which you need athletic to really get a whole of the title to really say you know what we are worthy. A winning league got this year. And i go back to both of their matches against the the first one. That was embarrassing. How bad they were the second one in which they allow me to come back and tie game one. One eight just doesn't feel like athletic. Amari has a real certainty in a true belief that they were going to win. This one's them. Momentum started going in the wrong direction. they haven't been able to stop it and we thought well you know what they'd be very good wak- very good. Is that enough. No because we needed to see it today and although we saw a reaction and they were back in the game was one one. They were pushing forward. There's no doubt that is just all over. Go right now and eventually. They gave up a goal in a manner in which we would think that they would be scoring in a corner kick. How many times we the commodity late in a match the score of a corner and save themselves and get three points now. We're seeing it go the other way. Now they're giving up late goals instead pieces athletic aid. But that's been out of first place continues to me right now. That are going to run direction. And he feels like maybe barcelona's

A conversation on content and language

"We want to start this episode by getting to know our guests a little more. I have quite an interesting question here. That i've asked allie and d to think about so the question is how did you become interested in supporting subject teachers with english. Language needs of the students. How does this relate to your current work alley. Would you like to start. Yes so longtime gay back in two thousand and three. I became a substitute as lots of efl and temple teachers become and that was when i really became passionate about teaching teachers realize impact. You can have if you are training and developing teachers. And then if he is later. I was the head of a language school for the bell educational trust. That was down in kent in a place who bej bring a huge forest and in this forest. I was out of the language school on the same site. There was an international school. And so i also live manage the english teachers there and their role was quite different as it to. We didn't realize that to start with everyone was doing the same thing. And then through observations of subject teachers and the english teachers in the international school. I and the team realized that what was students at the international school needed was quite different. From what the students language score needed and so together we researching to kill some research into what those students who needed to help them. In their subject lessons the english language teachers really canes help to help skill the subject teachers however one thing that really fascinated me and something love encountered in most of the schools i worked actually was was a resistance to this change and whether it comes from people being concerned they don't know grammar enough confident enough in language themselves but it was something that really touched me and because i really feel so much to be learned from both sides and english language teachers and from subject teachers and yet there wasn't this cross pollination going on so after that i did my key ta i realized quite quickly seemed to be happening. Was that if you if you're not a qualified teacher. Actually teachers can be quite resistant to listen to a open. Maybe to hearing what you have to

Ben Silverman - Ececutive Producer of The Office

"How did you discover the uk version of the office. I was at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house. I was not an agent. I had left being an agent where i had found everything from who wants to be a millionaire to cracker queer as folk and had translated them into america as the packaging agent and i laughed. Backed by barry diller to start my own company called rally and i had just begun reveling in win over to london for a work trip and was staying at my friend. Henrietta conrad's house and we were watching television. And i was literally flipping the channels and i came on to the office. This is episode one or two okay of the uk season one office. Wow and i was watching it. I wondering if it was for comedy or for real than quickly recognized what it was doing single camera no laugh track faux documentary with people who felt real and i kept watching and started laughing. And it's really hard to make me laugh. And i was falling in love with the show in that moment and then i started thinking about it the next day in the morning and i asked henrietta if she knew ricky gervais as and she said no but her friend dan. Mazer did and we organized and had dinner with dan that night. Which are twenty four hours after you after you see it for the first time on television. You're having dinner with someone who could get you to ricky. Yes and additionally. I also wanted to be with dan. Dan was sasha baron. Cohen's partner allergy was on television. Was allie ardor your then no in the uk okay. But i'm with dan mazer yep. Dan is lovely brilliant in his own. Right and i start peppering questions about the office. And he gives me ricky cell phone number and so the next day. I call ricky around eleven o'clock in the morning and introduce myself on the phone and say i'd love to meet you. Are you in town. He goes actually. Yes me in soho at the starbucks this afternoon and i coordinate a meeting and i spent an hour with ricky talking about the office and very quickly we got along because we both love television and he truly was making me laugh even in those moment right over over the coffee at starbucks and so he clearly had chosen the location of the starbucks because he then says to me oh good news. My agent is right around the corner. Let's go meet with them so it was almost like he met me confirmed. I was okay roy. Conversation was interesting and then we walked over and met with dunkin' as his agent. And then duncan and i began a three month process to secure the rights. And it wasn't until dunkin. Help me unlock it. All that i realized. Both the bbc and ricky controlled the rights. I needed ricky and stephen merchant to actually get it done and agitate to get it done otherwise. It was never going to get done. Got it so you you deal with the bbc. And you deal with ricky steven. You have this partnership in place and where do you go into the united states. I immediately start making phone calls and saying. Are you aware of the show the office. Do you know what it is. Do you think it would interest you. And this is probably now a month after are so run. The show has started to gain buzz. It's aired its cycle in the uk. Its initial six episodes and so it has an awareness. Now it's a thing right not a big thing but to anyone in england it in the television industry. You're aware so. I'm i'm back at the states reaching out to people one of the incredible things about hollywood which was a huge advantage for me to do. Well was that people in hollywood are pretty insular and don't like to travel. They think you need a passport to get from burbank to beverly hills. That is travel and so many people at this time in american television had no clue connection about anything beyond la. Right and only one exac at the time knew what i was talking about was a guy named nick grad. Who worked at fx and he knew what the show was and he loved the show. Kevin riley was running fx. At the time. I'd gone to less mooned us he passed. I went to gail berman. She passed immediately. Didn't get it. Hbo said we'll never do a remake. They clearly have altered that thinking that that time they were like. We won't do a format and showtime wasn't doing shows like this right. I didn't go to abc. 'cause i just knew it wasn't abc. Right and i was starting to tease. Nbc with it and kevin than got named the head of nbc. And i bring it up to him. And i say would you wanna do it here and kevin says absolutely little. Did he know he was actually my only buyer that time. He was the only one right who wanted everyone else. All of television everyone else had passed. Now are you in kevin's like let's do it. Like let's let's make it. You know i'll give you a pilot movement and then kevin's boss though. Who is very involved in his life. Jeff zucker didn't really like it that much because it was his single camera. Nola back injury. I got it like it was a hard pill for them to swallow. I was also like they didn't want the game show back in prime time when i brought millionaire. Everyone thought that was cheesy. Daytime like no no. This will change. Tv know you gotta look at it from how to push the genre and pushed the envelope. So that you can expand versus always play for defense right and i was like this is another level and this is potentially transformative of television and with that can come great great

Does Lebron James Deserve More MVP Awards?

"Let me tell you what. Lebron james is notorious for a other than skipping town. Go to another team other than that you know what. He's famous for taking his foot off the gas to a regular seasons when he went back to cleveland. You remember that he was like i don't mean to have the number one seed. I don't need to kill myself during the regular season. that's why he didn't win. Mvp's he undersea deserve to have more last year. Janas was the mvp unwanted convincingly and overwhelmingly. Why bernie 'cause the year before. John is wanted and lashio. Jonah's had better numbers than the year before. And the milwaukee bucks had the best record in the nba. Lebron james was really shocked because he had some false narrative going on that he was the mvp. Come on bernie has some humility. You don't have to do that. Politics will knock it you an. Mvp saying goes true. Greatness needs no self promotion. And we've talked about this probably at least once in every show we've done robin that is lebron is incredibly insecure about his legacy. If he's really the king what is he. Allow these things to get under his skin. He did it last. September when he lost out on the mvp then he says well. What really pisses me off. Allie got sixteen votes out of. That's what really pisses me up. Look if you want to continue to die in this hill lebron. You're going to continue to be seen as petty and al kuzina says the mvp's very political award. Yeah so is the mvp and major league baseball in the nfl. Probably the nhl and the heisman trophy right on down the line. Linda brown goes on to say. I don't sit around thinking about it or crying about it. That's what he just said that's all. He does time even when they won the championship last year and i gave him top credit. Lebron fan never will be better given top credit. Because the lakers are a franchise of eras you had to wilt air the jabbar air the magic the kobe and shaq era negative lebron air to win a championship and when he did the first thing he does say i want my damn respect do what he. What are you constantly begging for. What exactly is it. What happened in because you know why bernie it tells you all you need to know. He knows deep down. He's not the best player all time he knows his michael jordan. That's why it's always looking for these other things to add to his resume. That's why he he wants an mvp and you know what he sees now. He seems j. He sees james harden in brooklyn without a kevin durant and they've won fourteen out of fifteen or whatever the number is bernie and and he's looking going and when a went out to lakers stumbled he's not going to win the

"Welcome insulation of spnfz down. Thomas during the today by allie. Moreno gotten off coffee. You'll be hitter flags on a big win for you today but we start in the champions leaks good matches. Isn't it coming up over the next couple of days. We'll stop at looking trump. Let's go madrid against chelsea some other. The chelsea as favourite not six to four on to advanced next trying athletics. Eleven to ten men rapids. He absolutely flying in la league the first half of the season they have somewhat just a little bit foreign off. Course levante being very much thorn in that side. You're against on wednesday lost on saturday. Let's welcome shall we. Don't just sit low. Lo look ahead to this game. Say let's start off with a athletic perspective xiaowei. What's going wrong with them. They all right. I think we'll go move the wrong with them. In part was that this was likely to happen at some stage. Although perhaps not in quite this way bear mind. They've now dropped many points in twelve days as they had in the inside season up until that point but is in for full-on collapse in all four games. It's one victory to drills the fate as a site. that'd be on such good full. It was fifty four fifty seven points at fifty fifty seven points in the first half the season that it feels like a glass. I think in a way if you look at the results before this games way they were always on edge there again where they were just about coming through very light winner. You've are weiner out of s for example that going behind much more often than previously remember they concedes remedies minute behind in the entire season. That's not happen more often. They're conceding early goals. They gonna seven games in a row conceding so it was the probably some point tip slightly now not into a full blown crisis but certainly into a situation where they were necessarily gonna mean sign that level incredible efficiency in winning games that they had up until fruitful weeks ago and coming up against a chelsea side. Don still unbeaten under to call but very very ordinary against hanson. Yeah just methodical. The hard sites watch chelsea they get. The job done. Didn't against that in the drawer but they were hard. Watch nothing. thomas tickle early on. I think he's testing these players. Think he's testing. Mentality is testing the players and different systems. Put the weekend. He lasted fifteen minutes and took stripe off again so he didn't work took off the ball put about so it's a chelsea sought while you won't you come on west off whereas the where's the attack and fled just very very methodical. Caffeine phoenix can tighten me. I can't imagine be free flowing ends and talking football full three job so don just call chelsea methodical and if you think of you don't feel like hey look at them they're open. They're attacking they're going to commit number full and so therefore if you have an athletic team that has been struggling to get results and you have a team. That is quote unquote methodical. Then yes you're exactly correct. This is not four three. this is set pieces. This is very tied very tactical certainly in the first leg in which is going gonna make it physical from. They have to get back to that. They've lost a little bit of that and they've lost a little bit of attention to details in the game against the weekend. Golda was not scored by motorists early on. There's the ball over the top from set piece attack and said piece of mind on a mis-clearance goes over fifty yards and morales one one situation against like that doesn't happen against atlantic city. But it's been happening more and more often over the last ten days or so they have to clean up those details and clean those details where you're going to find something that is going to be very very difficult to beat

What they're saying: Philadelphia Eagles, Wentz or other teams — who has the leverage?

"All about away. Bought away by the way. The miami dolphins got their guy. I just meant they got us. That dude is they got a guy young guy so let's put some. what are we talking about. Let's put the question. Then this way. And by the way i would say this right now to are coordinating producer. Pete mcconville and our producer. Allie grenade. i don't understand how we do not yet have a feature called jeff saturday. Who's high this week. I mean every week jeff. Hester name that's got to become a tuesday stable. Is this week. We make a segment out of everything on this show but markets very quickly. If the dolphins get forgetting about guam if the dolphins get to shawn watson are they the biggest threat to kansas city in the afc next year. Yeah they are. And i know i say that because i saw were buffalo did. But i'm taking the sean before. I take josh allen and their defense. I'm taking miami. Defense with the sean. Look the inspire football. You play when you have a guy at that position that you know you can't win wit. It takes it to a different level. I love how floor is coaching. But i do think that sometimes going in and out with fits magic and into mayor. Put this team in kabul unknown territory. About what their identity was offensively and the defense never had a question. About what their identity. Would you bring this on. You answer that question. That's our quarterback. Raise the level of play of everybody around you. Oh and yeah let me tell you why. Because he threw for the most yards went out of number one receive on team this year. That's how good he is. Listen this is a no brainer. I would love to see desha watson and josh allen go toe-to-toe for years to come in that division and see who can make it out and then get the kansas city potentially in the afc championship bottom line in miami. They've been trying to find the next dan marino for twenty years. They thought maybe you're still may have him into a tunga vilo but shawn watson is as much more. A known commodity will see if that plays out. Meanwhile quarterback rumors are everywhere including these that the eagles wanna move carson wentz. We know that. What kind of market are they. Finding darlington has the very latest. It could be very interesting. Plus lebron james having another mvp caliber season. You'll hear why jay williams thinks he should win the academy award as well. That's on the way this is get up on. Espn do you own. Read your home share. You and i bet it can be hard work. You know it's easy bundling policies with geico geico makes it easy to bundle your homeowner's or renter's insurance along with your auto policy. It's a good thing too because you already have so much to do around your home. Go to geico dot com. Get a quote and see how much you could save. Its gyco easy visit. Geico dot com. Today that's geico dot com on. We go get up. And another of the quarterback trade sagas continues this one involving that main carson wentz whom league sources believe is on the way out of philadelphia and the eagles may also explore options with his longtime tight. Ends zach ertz. Perhaps philly could include ertz in a wentz package to maximize trade value. Words has one year and eight point. Two five million dollars left on his contract it look. There's a whole lot of speculation in jeff darlington insider here. I'll start with you as to why no deal has been worked out with wentz yet and one of the ways that i look at it from afar is maybe eagles. Just overestimate what it is. People might be willing to give up for wentz at this point when you consider the contract that he has. It's essentially the same circumstance as jared goff in los angeles and the rams had to pay a team to take him off their hands. So is that how similar or those situations and could that be. What's holding this thing up. Well very possible. Greedy speaking with a source with the eagles who certainly understand everything. That's going on with this deal. And you know the one thing that he said. I said what's the holdup here in his answers february sixteenth. Today lear doesn't even start for another month by a bunch of exclamation points and there is something certainly to that. March nineteenth is the date that they'd have to decide on paying him. That ten million dollar rostov on this. This is the runway that they're working with now. Of course you do want to make sure that you make the most of your leverage multiple teams involved. You don't wanna lose one of those teams and then Maybe cost yourself some compensation from that other team but we can point out here that This this source also told me that there is no no trade clause in carson wentz deal so it doesn't really matter say he wants to go to the colts but they're getting more compensation from the bears. They could just send him to the bears. It wouldn't be a problem

What Is Love? God Is

"Let's talk about love. This might be the most bastardized word in english language. The most misused the most misunderstood the most misapplied manipulated word that we have whether it's abusing lost in love or jealousy in love or tolerance in love. We confuse it and get it wrong a lot. And it's not just the secular world. It gets it wrong. We christians get it wrong. The church can sometimes get it wrong. We can idolize certain types of love and it's really important that we get this right. What love really is particularly as christians because we are constantly told by non christians that what we believe is not actually loving that it is not loving to believe in john fourteen six for example that she is the way the truth the life and that no one comes to the father except through him. We are told that it's not loving to believe in romans. Three twenty three for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god. That it's hateful colson. What god called. Sin to call truth what god calls truth to share the gospel to do mission work to be a christian in any way that his counter cultural year told often today lease is hateful. The only type of christianity that is acceptable to much of the world. Today is the one that looks downs so much like the world that own indistinguishable so we have the same views on abortion as everyone else on marriage on sexuality on gender on morality on politics on media and entertainment on truth as longest christians look and sound just like everyone else are considered acceptable in lami. But anything any doctor any practice that just outside of what secularism approves of many considered to be hateful and wrong. I'd not everyone who doesn't share our faith of course believes this way By the way but increasingly it seems many do. Our responsibility is not to be considered lobbying by the world but rather to conform ourselves. To god's definition of love his definitions. I should say of love. Upper sean poor eight says god is love their people in an outside of the church that is their. This is their favorite verse. Almost everyone knows this verse. first john. four eight god is love. God's very essence is love everything he does is therefore love. Everything he says is love every decree every law every action. Every non action is defined by motivated by characterized by love. Love is everything that god is in everything. Love truly is can be found in god that means if we get wrong. What love actually. Is we get wrong. Who got actually is and we get wrong. Who got is we get wrong. What love to know. God is to know true love in those who don't know god can have glimpses of forms of love because it's a gift of what we call common grace. He's given to someone who is not a christian for example of course can love their friends while loves their family. Love their spouse their kids their country. We are made in the image of god which means that we are all made with the capacity to love passionately. Selflessly even the triune. God is in constant communion father son holy spirit all embody log self sufficient in their love and we made in the image of the triune god also long for this kind of eternal love in fellowship. We were not made to be an isolation we were made for love to receive and to give love

"Spastic paraplegia fifty or spg. Fifty is a neurodegenerative disorder that progresses slowly from infancy patients experienced developmental delays specificity and paralysis in the lower and upper limbs and microcephaly among other symptoms. It's an autosomal recessive disorder. Which means that. The child inherits the disease causing genetic mutation from both parents. I'm joined today by terry. Pure volek s whose son. Michael was diagnosed. This ultra rare condition. Terry and his wife georgia founded the organization cure. Pg fifty in order to find gene therapy treatment for michael and all other children affected by this disease. He will tell us his family's story and give us an update on how research is going for his son. Welcome terry thank you so much for being here. We really appreciate being able to share your journey with you. So can you tell us about your family's journey with this disease. So on december seventeen two thousand seventeen michael. Our youngest son was born. It was pretty much uneventful. We went to the hospital mill the night. My wife said her you know her. Water broke our third child so we were prepared. We got there. The midwife is there and michael came out in pretty much like an hour and a half. We were home within three hours so it was. It was very quick. It was completely uneventful and he was a perfect little kid he was you know he was quiet. He was the perfect child. Around six months of age we noticed that he wasn't raising his hands and he wasn't following the milestones are other children. Were following in. My wife said know. Something's up so he brought him to the doctor in the noticed that his head was starting to fall off. The charter wasn't growing as expected. And he he had something called low muscle tone to that kind of fell into the odyssey of finding out what was wrong with him. And i think it's important to note here especially for any parents that have gone through this themselves. How agonizing this step can be especially when it turns out that it's this sort of rare disease. I imagine there were all kinds of tests and all kinds of doctors. Who were just telling you that. They didn't know what it was. And how heartbreaking. That can be for parents obviously are. I thought you know what he has. Low muscle tone as you know. It looks like he's head is smaller but don't worry about it. He'll he'll catch up. And then you know that kind of lasted three months and then we were like okay. Will he still not progressing therapies and he is improving but you know his head still isn't growing. What's going on so then we went to sick. It's hospital in toronto. And we went to infectious disease. Because i was traveling at the time to latin america and he thought maybe he adds zeka so we went down the path of siyavizy ca testing. And all the other infectious diseases. What you didn't have any of them obviously and then we moved into neurology. Team did an ira. And they found that they they saw few. You know things that were not normal but nothing major. And that's when they started doing you know the panel testing which came back all negative and then finally let. We were very lucky that they did the genetic testing and then on april second of of twenty nine thousand nine. He was diagnosed with this. You know terrible disease. And how did you find doctors that were able to tell you more information about this disease. We were really lucky. That won't april second. We were told to go home. Love michael that there was nothing really the can do for him that he will most likely be completely paralyzed with limited brain function and As parents we were absolutely devastated by drove home that night. And i honestly i don't remember how even got home. Allie member his crying on the street in the car. But we found a family 'cause we're hearing the paper. I don't know what happened. I think i lost it but denied the emailed us what the disease was in the diagnosis and we found a family that had spg forty seven out of boston and call them up that night in a panic and the as she walked us through the disease and and who are the specialists and they took care of us for the next two weeks while we mourned this significance piece of our lives. It was almost like a while. It is like a piece of our soul was taken away from us. That's a really amazingly lucky to be able to find a family and have them be so willing to help you out especially in those early days will not just not the lucky that there are. She already going in the path of gene therapy. So not only do they tell us what the disease prognosis was. But they were telling us what they were doing for their disease and for their gene therapy program and spg. Forty-seven is part of a protein complex called ap four and under that ap four there's four genes their ap for eight before and one s one g one and be one in ours was the same essence. We all have the same disease so we were very fortunate. Karachi went on that path and and and kind of guided us for the next two weeks on what we should be doing and we took it on and did it ourselves from

"Back to musicals of course dancer in the dark which i watched cried my eyes out during the entire thing and then about an hour later showed my mom and then you know when i told you about that. You said that that made me the scariest persons. She'd ever met. So that's something i mean. Noser the are some really. I love melancholy. A- that's actually. That's probably my favorites. Some of his. And then there's other ones that are just hard to watch you talk it. She was like. I'll never work with him again. Remember she it was the film. It was very experimental. Really well done it was on. It was on like a set like theater set like a black room and every room was just like chalk drawing on the floor like kidman like But apparently he was so abusive as a director that she would never work with another nicole. Kidman doesn't of experimental or sort of outside things thinks left her. Nicholson i think she. I think she picks really great objects she does. She did to joe camera. Electro is in boy raced. And i i haven't seen only guide a It's about conversion therapy. And yeah i just thought it. Was you know it wasn't a huge fan. That i've always been a an example of just a good film nicole kidman. I'm sure agent and manager as well but but she definitely plays a strong hand in the films that she chooses. I think she produced rabbit hole. That was directed by john cameron mitchell. I think she sought him out actually to direct that which is adaptation of a play very very heavy movie really good but not very jolly not for this time and then she also did How to talk to girls at parties directed by john camera mitchell so i think she has a strong hand in that i mean you don't you don't have like a career that long of so many great films in my abandon. It would've earlier movies dead calm. I remember being really good. That's her and sam. Neill it's a thriller set out on a yacht or boat somewhere. I guess he got is about but anyway. You've done some acting as well. I don't know exactly where. But i remember hearing you talk about it in a great interview that you did with. Oh my god. What's their name. The one we were walking around. Oh yeah i know. She didn't even say your name. It was the of her her like channel Where it is sidewalk. Talk idiom. That's what it is and that channels. Clearly named after the jelly bean song that was covered and with madonna ingenious way to interview people. Because as you're walking new is just easier to talk like you can't be as calculated or some thing..

"Serious answer before it's a cup and then delivered it like excited guys answering questions from congress committee. It's a cup that. I hate to agree with the robot but as an adult i do feel like the cup is the practical choice as a kid even weirder. I actually like safety cones. It's it's the basically cardboard styrofoam even. But but i don't know why i just always liked them But taste wise. The waffle cone is the best taste. No question You can't beat especially a freshman waffle cone at One of those ben and jerry's doesn't yeah Goldstone excited to say that worry about it. Let me tell you more about for walk. Chewed elliott put it in new york in there and then you would lift it out and then you put it on the ground not on the ground counter and then you would use a little league funnel and you would just wrap it around the funnel and then in a little holder and then it would take a beautiful flower share. Thanks miss mckay for testimony. with You i agree with matt that i think the waffle is the The the best. I also like i'm vanilla guy. I do like a vanilla. The mind number one flavor. I support it. I supported it with words not laughter. I i said. I said something i support it. I was analyzing it because it has shoulders knees and toes you take the neck out that means the heads not connected to the and i had no time to laugh once that happened because i was trying to figure it out you went right for the science. I went right for this boy matt. Belknap your please. Well i did get hung up on the plural of the question and You guys are probably gonna make fun of me and mock me for the answer but I said arms because there's a lot of like recent not maybe not that recent. But like i feel like there's a lot of plush type things that are just kind of like a blob with no arms and it's a cute face and you know and there's actually a very popular video game right now called among us that the guys th everyone just walk around there just got feet and ahead and they don't have arms terrible answer. Do you find them cute. Yeah they're pretty cute all right now. There's some logic there then. I wish a lot of we'll tell you that. I was to write down arms and then i thought that's a ridiculous. Donner i think they would have. Yes anytime by the way. this is. What room has been sharing with advertisers man. You came and it. What's happening like third is devastated. I can't believe that madison avenue is going to be privy to that. I had a room for a little while and it spent more time underneath the couch than it did doing. Its job because i just was like. I like this is getting up to move that because it stuck in the corner is more of a hassle than me just vacuuming the goddamn floor and end of story. I'm fascinating erin Now allie gary works over there at the barnes and noble in studio city california where he claims. It's been getting hopping closer that we get to the holidays here. "Ring a bell alley. They bring met on their their program. They ring a bell when there's some sort of sexual innuendo and It's funny i apologize. We have a good time. I very much enjoy it. Allie do you also collect drops or is that just being so like obsessive i will send him Videos and sometimes. I'll see a random instagram feed. That's really funny. And i'm like there's some great drops in this so i will send them to him but he is as you know of the mindset that every single thing he's watching is a potential drop so he can't enjoy things he truly can't i. Can this lovely. You actually enjoyed something that i did. Not recently the. Maybe you guys have seen this video. Garin elliott madam the eleven or twelve year. Old east coast kid. Who's basically a little joe. Patchy agent them. I wanted him avs. I wanted him incarcerated. Do that to a child. No i said on the show or no. I didn't say on the show. You are correct if i would have said. Oh that sucks. I would have been in trouble in my house like you couldn't say sucks let alone the s bom every three words. I would have been backhanded into next tuesday. That kid is gonna be a sociopath. I'm putting money. That is my bet your paths right here. That child was awful. That the thing is that like there was a will ferrell hat. His daughter at one point diva swearing landlord. But she had no idea what she was saying right so so it's is adorable because she just saying where she doesn't know what they mean. This kid knew exactly like this is how he talks and his mother she loved it. And the thing what your mother or his mother loved it others taping it egging him on the part that bothers me. It's like this wasn't just like a secret video. Like oh can you believe he's talking to his friends like this actually setting them up to do a little skit. Which was i did not care for it. I know you've stopped. Follow me on twitter. But i re tweeted that and i said how did joe pesci. She reincarnate himself if he's not even dead yet. I shared it so it's funny referred to in that way you stop following him. Probably just one of the many reasons alec not follow your coworkers follow. He's a tough guy. I can get a little rough. It's it's either here you can. I tell you why a plea. I used to follow him because it would then say i would on mondays. I would. I would say garin. I saw blah blah blah. We have a conversation about it. But then i was like. I'm i'm kind of spoiling the conversation. So now i like him surprising us with what he did for the week. So if i see everything. He's done also he's a tough fucking follow. Speaking spoiling he will spoil every single thing. He watches a hundred percent not true. Oh that's what thank you for. Reminding me that's the that was the initial reason was he'll go. Just just watch blah blah blah nine out of ten or one out of ten like. I don't need to see your review before i see. Oh that's yeah alley we should ask you because jimi that. Just the your opinion of something spoiler because now he's going in with. Oh well. I know matt didn't like it so what what's going to happen. Do you agree with that. I don't because i don't care what other people think does not gonna kind of guide what my view is going to be on it. But yeah we've gotten into spoiler alerts on our show that people get mad delightful. Yes yeah all right. Let's find out everybody's answer here. We've got the question. I changed my answer. By the way i changed. It gives medicare's on interesting. For what fucking. Win bag allie. Mckay is speaking of windbags. She's partners with being green bean. Baxter wonderful Broadcaster goddess he good and the show is terrific. I enjoy it It's making my walks. Go so much quicker That i have been taking during this pandemic. let's around the horlick chickens. Here's an example. I don't see this guy's tweets hair garin. What's going on so much to me. I had a pretty good week. Insofar went to a comedy show. What you tonight sounds a good time friday night. Yeah you know. I went to this comedy shows. This great great country hit a weird outfit on the whole time which was weird but not the whole time. He took it off about three minutes in talking about that from toronto. Oh god very early. He came to my flappers virtual show on fridays. What he's getting it. I said i opened the show by wearing one of those matt. Remember we tipsy. Elves was a sponsor and we got those ugly sweaters and So i wore that for a minute and it was acrylic so is itching me. So i took it off but But as far as getting. And i got an ad from tipsy elves show up on facebook or instagram. After i saw your show did you really. Yeah and. I don't think i've ever seen them before. That was really bizarre. We'd never seen before they sponsor this program on like on my feeds. I've never seen an ad from very suspicious. Given the time of year. Seattle fucking garin. Thinks that he like you is full of conspiracy theories and thinks that his house's bugged in their listen every single thing that we say so listen first of all. Yeah your house's bugged your. tv's bugged your roomba is taken maps of your floor. We know this. It is true but number two by really. Think that your phone even if you're just having conversations listening then we'll send you those ads but there are times when i think about something and then all of a sudden it's there and it doesn't happen to you. You're lying. i agree i. That's why i gotta busting guarantee balls and yours to a lesser extent but go back to the roomba and the map is..

"Be. So friend of a friend was like we. Just go in and fill in with adam corolla so they can pretend that they don't have a new girl yet and i was like okay. Fine i said. Twelve words words in three appearances. Congratulations thank you felt good about it. I got it and thank you. That's a real good. That's a record for a woman. God his first but when is probably podcast i started i enjoyed it and i when i was a guest a couple of times and then it just turned and no thank you not for me. But you know what's like the show and some people don't like a cup of tea and a chat shows out there. people don't enjoy. They're just they're just are okay. I find viewed very weird because you have to pay for elian bean so people are paying to not like. It means only those people favorites. When i was doing mornings at ktla and people would be like i hate you the way. You're all happy all the time. Show in weird places to go. And i was like but you watch every day just to tell me how much you hate me. That gives me a boner me so happy that. You're that miserable that you're like. I gotta hate watch her. A thank god people are just you know what go to go to go to two hundred flats and have a beer can solve this problem going there and get yourself a bruin a sandwich alley when you're on. Ktla that's that's a local radio. Not readers. I apologize local television station here and you were the entertainment reporter. I was the feature reporter. Sal every morning. I'd be at a different place kind of highlighting things in the community or places that were just. Open that type of thing. It was the death destruction. Allie allie so it was a it was a good time. Yeah what what was your. What was your big I can't. I'm not a journalist. I can't think of the word. What would i want to use the word coup but that. That's what our president's currently doing. What was your big breaking story. The biggest story ever did or okay. First thing. i did not get to four thirty in the morning. I got and and then i woke up at eight thirty so it just. It's been a disaster. Wow so i'm a mess. And i'm not giving you my game i apologize to you I would say in advance but we're work. Deepen this big scoop. It people go remember when ellie did her rivera going into the mental institution. What was your version of that again. As a feature reporter there were no real scoops. However if you if you type in my name it used to be you would just get through alley and then the mac mckay and then it would say ellie mackay. Shake weight hawley. Mckay milk goat like it just goes for the two things that popped up first but you might remember about eight years ago and newscasts. That did a shake weight workout and it went viral rule. Quick and had about three million hits. Today's until our new stricter realized it had gone viral. And he's like wait. That makes us seem like we're not serious about news no. I'm doing a shake weight workout for the news. Of course not so. He had deleted from from the internet. And of course it's popped up a million times since then but if you want if you wanna watch a fun video where people literally like. This isn't a real news. Cast guys the comments are always best like this is fake sketched this real. I watched them every morning. This is real it got it got weird between that and then milking goats and i was not great at it and the weather man who was not aware his mic was on at the end. Lisa Raymond on setting her own agenda

"All right lisa. Raymond welcomed tennis dot com podcasts. It is awesome to have you. Thank you guys for having me so much. Where in the world are you. Let's let's start with that hotel room. I know that shocking to people but Actually in baton rouge louisiana right now been working for the past year with alec and My old coach Andy brandy is the head men's tennis co-chair lsu and kinda long story but We're actually bringing them on To be part of the team so we're here Doing some training with him and he he's going to be a part of our team moving forward and It's been awesome. Been here almost two weeks now. And it's going to be one of our training bases now rally which is going to be great so So yeah that's why we're in baton rouge andy brandy the andy brandy as andy brandy. Yes very familiar to me names. There's only one. Andy randy will ever be one handy brandy so you love them or hate him and i've always loved them. It's true you either have these. Andy it's either. You have this unreal relationship with andy or you. Don't you know and he'd be the first to admit that he. Andy me the iranian. You know he'd be the first to be like you know. It just isn't working or at works and andy. I hit it off from the time. I was seventeen when i went to school. Went to florida and You know if there's one person in my career that i have. I owe pretty much everything to because of that foundation he built. It's handy so yeah absolutely. Oh that's amazing. You don't really hear very often. I guess sometimes you can hear about a player that can just have a very. That's i mean that's a lifelong relationship. Lifelong yeah but yeah. I mean he Again i mean he. I coached he coach me throughout my pro career on and off the end And then like. I said i mean he's family. I mean him and his wife and his son i mean we were just over there the other night for dinner and and hadn't seen them forever haven't seen as whites and it was just like yesterday. I mean they're just near and dear and Just really really special people. Were you always gonna jump into coaching. I think he finished up in two thousand fifteen th us open with madison keys as your last partner and then she would have been your first pupil in a way is that was that. Always the plan when you're playing. No it wasn't at all. I'm just kinda just happened Very good friends with lindsay davenport. And so lindsey was coaching mass in at the time and lindsay still playing two thousand fifteen and lindsay was just like look. I just. I can't really do this fulltime. Would you be interested in of coming on You know traveling with her some weeks if it didn't interfere with your doubles. Maybe you guys could place in doubles. It'd be great for her. And and so i was like yeah sure like you know it just. I hadn't really ever really thought about it. And then i did. I did think about it. And and i loved it. I love I love coaching. And i love just kind of Being part of a team in our party why. I probably did so well in doubles because i love being out there with somebody but So for me it was like a great segue from retiring. Because i literally went from the us open finishing my last match to five days later. I was in quebec city with madison. So it was like. I never really like had to put my rackets down and sit and be like oh my god. I'm retired here so see us do. That's kind of how just kinda leads dad. And and then. I took a break from coaching. And then allie. Approach me with this opportunity and jumped out. I mean least technically. You're not retired. You played last year. This is true this is true. This is true. Technically twenty thirteen was not your last match to good point and i plan on the i. I've got a few goals out there. That i still wanna possibly achieve so i So yeah so. I just to get in better shape. Get my butt out there and hitting a little bit more and But yeah no. I'm not totally retired. I guess you could say

"Hey guys welcome to relatable. Happy Wednesday hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far. I'm going to answer some questions that you guys sit me on instagram. You sent me so many wonderful ones and there are a lot of questions I got that I've addressed on the podcast before, which is totally fine. I don't have any problem with that a lot of you who are following me on Instagram or who are listening to the. podcast you are new and you have no idea that I've talked about some of the subjects that I have I am working on categorizing it takes a long time but I've got someone helping me now working on categorizing all of my podcast episodes on my website Allie Beth stuck dot com, and then once I finished that it's going to be a lot easier for you guys to navigate. I'll be able to point you guys exactly to. The leak and you're just going to be able to go there and to find the podcast that you're looking for however in the meantime. All you have to do is scroll through and typically the titles are pretty self explanatory or you can just search in the PODCAST APP I get a lot of questions. For example, have you ever talked about predestination? You could try type name relatable predestination. There's an episode titled Predestination. Some people ask me about women pastoring churches. There's an episode titled Women In the Church You can type in relatable women in the church. You can even Google that with the name Allie Duckie and something is going to come up the episode will come up. You can also just scroll through some people ask me about my testimony. How I got to do what I'm doing well, I definitely first of all, recommend you read my book you're not enough in. That's okay. Escaping the toxic culture of self love I tell you a lot about how I landed where I am now what my testimony is how? The Lord saved me, and so you can read my book for those details but I've also talked about on this podcast way back win. So just scroll back a lot of people just kind of binge listen to my podcast once they find it and a lot of the podcast episodes are evergreen like last summer when I was on maternity leave pre recorded a bunch of evergreen topics or evergreen episodes. Monday idea idea to theological topic and Wednesday. I did a political topic on Friday. I did an interview and so I kind of go back to the basics they talked about why a reformed Christian and why I believe the things that they do and I also talked a little bit about you know ask Atallah G. and then on Wednesday talked about how Liberals and conservatives view the constitution and how we view things like socialism and all of that so you can go all the. Way Back to last summer..

"Allie k alley ready i'm ready okay ali i want you to ask your shadow why do you keep letting people get away with things so say fido say shadow you're gonna have a conversation with your shadow say shadow natta why do i let people get away with things when i know it bothers me right around people get away with things by authors me what did you shadow say what did it say are not honoring myself right say shot a why do i choose not to honor myself outta why do i choose not to honor myself because i have a belief that i'm not worthy of honoring myself exactly you see how the shadow tells you directly what it is there's no sugar coating there's no you know that pet you to make you feel comfortable nil the reason why people don't listen to the shadow is because they don't wanna hear the truth a don't wanna hear the truth but the truth does set you free they don't wanna hear the truth because the shadow tells you exactly what the problem is the shadow tells you how you really feel about things the shadow can tell you how to get out of obstacles how to clear things how to make money how to clean your life up how to do everything but no one wants to listen to the shadow because everybody wants to act like everything like is difficult are hard or this or that not in the shower just sits there and waits for you to come to your senses.
