"It's making me evaluate my project. The projections are not in front of me. The rankings though. I have seen announced seven allen robinson at nine and tear maclaurin at twelve. And this is i. i guess you know. There's some team makeup decisions. When you're drafting these wide receivers. I feel like my keep is teri maclaurin because in the third round i want not only. These are all safe players to me i. I'm not. i'm not concerned that one of them is going to bust right now. But as far as getting into the top five mean. i don't know that's alec can get there. And i don't know that allan robertson can get there. That's an okay way to look at it in my opinion. Because there's two scenarios here this could be the the wide receiver one if you went running back running back to start graft and if you're looking for upside like you said we've seen keenan allen. He's an elite player. You have ranked higher than term maclaurin. But i know that like a lot of people have mclaren. Locked in is an auto picking in the third round. Well i if you're looking at a guy who could finish as top three wide receiver i- keenan allen and allen. Robinson are very very safe. The targets are going to be there. You're talking over one hundred and forty targets over one hundred and fifty targets. That's that's probable. Not just in the range of outcomes that's like the assumption and so having those guys as well though. But i don't think it is because we haven't really seen him be a long term multi year target hog. You know with keenan allen robinson every single year. There are one hundred fifty targets so the safety is on their side. But i don't know that they have the athleticism at this point in their career to truly go him over the course of the season. Take four or five seven yard touchdowns the way the terry maclaurin cancer..

"Then let me crap. On michael on allen robinson a little bit the only thing. This guy has done well. This is such an exaggeration. But here i'm going to go for it anyway. The only thing this guy has done well is get a lot of targets. He has been two years in a row. He's been the third really important but it's very very very important. Two years at a row he has been third in the nfl. At least among wide receivers. I think at every position in targets. Has he finished his a number three wide receiver. Now he's been basically about tenths to twelve per game in full in non pr He has been over the last two seasons. He has been per game. Eighteenth and seventeenth and non pr ninth and thirteenth in full pbr. Twelfth and fifteenth in half so he plays sixteen games. He has four seasons with one hundred and fifty one to one hundred and fifty four targets. Only one of those seasons that was back in two thousand fifteen when he had fourteen touchdowns in fourteen hundred yards. I think Did he have a huge season. So he's he has basically been kind of like a stafford. You know an accumulator. A guy who stays healthy. I guess it's it's it's it is true if you look at legs gerbils mitchell trubisky just sake..

NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works

NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works

"What is a franchise tax. So you hear this word a lot. I always used to think franchise tag means. We're just gonna see that player on that specific team for the remaining of the season but there or for the next year but they're a little more complicated in that so every offseason teams have a two week window to plot to a one year franchise tag so once the player gets tagged they can either sign that contract or a long term extension. Which is the more i think. That's the more popular use of the franchise tag because a of teams don't want their their coveted players to hit free agency and they don't want another to swoop them without getting being able to offer them. I so these salaries for for each tag varies by position and the price is set by either adding the top five paid players from each position or it can be one hundred percent of a player's previous year's salary so twenty percent Increase in that salary so by position quarterback at least twenty six million a year with the franchise tag water. She was get seventeen million defensive ends get around seventeen million but less than receivers linebackers get fifteen million and so on and so forth. I think running backs get around ten million so it all depends on how guys are being being paid at that specific position so teams only can use this once a year and they can only use it on one player you can use it on the same player different years but yeah you can only had us one tag per year. There's different types of tags. There's an exclusive franchise tag which means players can't negotiate it all with other teams. There's a non exclusive franchise tag where other teams can make an offer and then The the team that has that player can match that offered and take the player And then there's a tradition. Tax tradition tags are similar to non-exclusive but players get an average of top ten position salaries instead of top five. So there's a little bit of a my discrepancy there and once the tag is applied teams have until mid july to renegotiate the contract. So like i said most common use for these franchise tag is not let a player. They want hit free agency. They wanna keep them around and then negotiate a more long-term deal to save some money and get under the cap for the foreseeable future so these somewhat can be slightly unfair A lot of players disliked the franchise tag for example on robinson is voiced his opinions against the franchise tag because it plays a lot of restrictions on upper-echelon players. So when a player like allen robinson gets franchise tagged they can't really find the real market value because they have that set price on them and if they wanted to go explore free agency then they could go interview with a bunch of teams test the waters and see what their actual worth is rather than getting a set number Just put on them so that's somewhat unfair This makes them have no financial security past one season. So if there's an injury then you know they just their value could just completely plummet. Under the franchise tag now players can hold out. That's really the only leverage they have in the su- situation but you know that's asking a lot of a player to put their public. Perception line put their reputation with the fans on the line and so most players don't do that but it has gotten to that point before so most cases players work at a deal for the tag comes into place in july which is the deadline for them to restructure. Or make that deal. So now i'm gonna get into what players have got tagged so far and What does that mean for. These teams moving forward. I player i wanted to discuss. Is alan robinson so. This one was obvious when it had to be done. Bears have a lot of uncertainty at the at the quarterback situation. So i don't think they wanted to make a long term deal without knowing where what direction they were gonna go with the quarterback. But you couldn't let player of this caliber and a player. This talented gopher nothing in return so in twenty twenty roms a career. High one hundred two passes for twelve hundred fifty yards. And he's only twenty seven which is pretty remarkable considering everything he's been through he had a tornado in two thousand seventeen with jacksonville. And he's really played with really bad quarterbacks over the years he's had blake bortles who's a backup slash bouncing around the league and he's played with mitch trubisky. Who's a failed first round pick for the chicago bears. And he's still been that he's had that production there no matter what. So i really wanna see robinson play with upper echelon quarterback and i just think if you give him a russell wilson someone who's above slightly above average maybe even just average than his numbers will go up. Even more is ridiculous so like i said he's a true number one receiver. I would argue top five in the league. He's either gonna play for seventeen million in two thousand twenty which is what his franchise tag number. I think he's looking for more around twenty million and easier gonna play under that contract or he can hold out. Which i think is definitely a possibility with this player just because of the displeasure. He's voiced on social media and kind of how players of rallied. His teammates have rallied rallied around him and they really want to see him get paid but when you look at the market value so he's gonna get paid seventeen million the tag next year.

What the Trent Brown trade tells us about Bill Belichick’s thinking

"Notable today trent brown. The you know pro bowl top you know. Left tackle offensive tackle in the entire. Nfl when the top guys on they traded him back to the patriots this interesting he was unhappy clearly The raiders were unhappy clearly because he's barely played so even while the raiders had like this dominant offense align at times. Trent brown was even playing for them. Sometimes you know last year. I feel like he barely played due to injuries and everything else. So the raiders weren't appreciate the effort. They felt like he could push through some of that probably. They felt like he was out of shape. You know Might may i came out and said that that when he's in shape and healthy is one of the best hackles ofo ball when he's not he's no good for you so My assumption is my guess of. I had to predict out. Trent brown will be entirely healthy next year. Because he's a patriot now and so he will not do injury concerns. He won't have all these issues because he's happy because he thinks he's on a winning team. No surprise surprise. Trent brown the patriots wearing good last year. The patriots. don't even have a quarterback sir. They don't if he can't come back. That's great but bro. You don't even know your protection. You don't even know how this even the plow because they didn't play out so hot last year now another get a lot of players back that You know took a year off because of covid. I fully assume. Bill belichick is anna. Start to repair this team. The best he can But you know the they're left guard go. I believe they decided to franchise tag him. That'll be interesting. But this always you know as a raiders fan. This kind of stuff always annoys me because players leave the traded with ever. They go to another team. Take the pay cut because he was getting paid. More with the raiders. That was annoys move. Obviously the raiders always play pay. You know a bonus they always have to pay up compared to other teams especially a successful team like the patriots so right so okay that comes with the territory. Donate to play the game. I respect that. And then you know. I hate when these guys on twitter and they started. Tweet tweeting my. They're so happy so excited. It gives me those antonio brown vibes when he left the raiders. So yeah that's it's frustrating but listen term row with some non baloch patriots at which But it's raiders all

"You want the cap to go up, right? Yeah, so that's, that's my opinion. And hopefully I laid out why I think like that, It's basically the Patriots have been trying to get as not to go back and they just been getting older this year. They started getting younger and it's just continued to trying to get younger in 2021. They invested ways to do so was to sign players in the 24 25 26 range. Let the guys go who are in their thirties go. Yeah, I agree and even like when we spoke to get up to we just talked about Allen Robinson. He's twenty-eight years old. He feels like he's like thirty two, but he's only 28 years old. But if you're talking about a five-year hundred million dollar for a twenty-eight-year-old receiver, I don't really like them either. You know what I mean? Like cuz you're going to end up paying age 31 32 33 or what-have-you is going to end up being a very expensive year for a receiver. That's probably going to be on the decline at that point them are usually the contracts that the Patriots like to stay away from so I'm glad you clarified that though because I think that there's a lot of mixed signals out there and they don't always have to agree with you but you're always right. So I'm just always wage. I I at least I try to back this stuff up what I'm saying and attacks me up when people say like some guy asked me today like you had sent out the Tweet about the 11 draft picks. Yeah, and I said there's a month. Faded the ones of the Jets and another and the guy asked me ask us again. I thought you wanted yes, but like like like if you're going to say I thought they did something approve it, you know said hey, I was looking at a chart and they they made a trade with the Jets and they traded in to that pick and they traded out of the pick again and I got confused..

How Do the Patriots Calculate Their Salary Cap Number?

"Do it like a first-year number is usually around 30% of the total deal and I want to go from Have my 13 219-222-2224 around those around that. All right, so that's what they do. So so let's say they sign off if you sign the player, let's say to a hundred million dollars. Huh? Allen Robinson. Allen Robinson is probably going to get twenty over. Let's say a hundred million dollars, you might get more than that, but five year at $1,000 if you sign with the Patriots, let's say let's do that 13% of that. Let's just like 13% of that. We thirteen million dollars would be his 2021 cap number. It wouldn't be twenty million dollars. So so that's how the pictures could sign several. Elite players to the deal if they continue with the structure. It's really up to how much cash the Patriots are willing to to allocate this year two thousand this year and I'll say this 2021 is the first year of the three of a the cash spending requirement. Right? Right. They know and I you know, I'm pretty sure they had they had to have met the 89% been requiring for last for the previous four years. Without the most expensive typically the most expensive player on their roster to QB right now is we difficult for the patience to get to that meet that need a spending requirement for the next three years without if they have a rookie deal with a rookie on a quarterback for a frown rookie such thing. So you want to so if they have let's say they exact trade up and get a rookie quarterback, right? He's still be on a rookie deal. Now that you guys still spend cash to read that cash that minimum. That's where you spend the money on on the other place.

Browns dealing with injury questions at tackle

"Us some news about steelers running back James Connor. Yoshimi sprained his ankle last night Laura now, Mike Tomlin said they're going to leave the white on them for this weekend. So they don't believe it's overly serious, but obviously couldn't finish last night's game in penny snow came and finishes the weeks second leading rusher play very well. Philip, he's got a case turf toe. He also didn't finish last night's game. The team is opening that it's mild. He's hoping that he'll be able to go. This week but PHILP Lindsey Nursing Turf Twenty three to Jerry painful for running backs a difficult injury, and of course, the bears right now are dealing with an unhappy Allen Robinson who today took off his social media pages all mentions of the bears he's unhappy with his contract situation. He's in the last year deal. He'd like a new contract and the fact that he is basically removing references to the bears on his social media platforms. An old trick also a new trick, but it also tells you a lot about players mindset, Alan Robinson not happy with the bears at this point in time.

"The ball is going to be played again but what we do know is at some point we believe that Nick Foles will have an opportunity to be throwing the pigskin to Allen Robinson at least I believe you strongly believe that right why don't I believe that yes I've said that from the very beginning my prediction would be for numerous reasons that I've enunciated clearly that I think that Nick Foles would be the starting quarterback for the season begins a lot of that is based on two things familiarity obviously that entire and revamped offensive coaching staff has great familiarity with Nick Foles and I think that the the lack of of you know contact that the team has been able to have with these guys will be a benefit for Nick Foles and especially in the competition if it it gets kicked off in normal time so my guess is is that Nick Foles will be your starter now other people feel differently but it to me my prediction my money is going on Nick Foles is your starter in week one whatever we want yeah and and that's the interesting point is that how rare that the actual incumbents quarterback is not potentially the most benefited from the fact that there will not be you know O. T. A.'s Allen Robinson joined goal can we go this morning and they asked him about you know what what it what is he doing because it you know obviously it's very difficult needs time to get together with people nobody really should be at this point and L. Robinson was ask by the guys you know so what is the plan now that you cannot get together with your new quarterback Nick Foles during the off season Israel is the only country older missed out on on on a lot of work you know with with not having the opiates you know again that's that's kind of what were you able to to get a lot of work in an even pricier normally with us you know we'll we'll find out about a week or so to go from low double for opiates you know so so miss out on that as well you know so I mean as soon as we can be able to get together and kind of shake this coronavirus the you know hopefully again we can try to set up the floor session or something like that with leading all makes and make you know all as soon as possible you know could be good just to get everybody together you know I receivers Jimmy Graham you know the running back Nate Mitchell noted be it before now it makes sense that any time that they have to work together will be beneficial but I guess the question is from just you know a fan's perspective while you being the former wide receiver how much time you know how much of the offseason time the work that those guys putting together how much is that you know how how much is going to hurt somebody like Nick Foles and Allen Robinson who have never worked together and won't likely be able to do so until they can actually get together in training camp and then even then we don't know what a training camp gonna look like so I guess how how much is this going to really hinder Allen Robinson Nick Foles and Nick Foles running this offense yeah I think it's a good question I I think because both her our veterans I think they'll find a way to to develop a little chemistry sooner rather than later but it may take some time like it it's a really good point because you know now Mitch's struggled with his accuracy but Mitch should know based on working with Allen Robinson the last couple years where Allen's going to be in certain routes and what is tendencies aren't how we looks coming out of breaks and just kind of what's going on I mean that kind of chemistry and that you know that that dialed in commodity is something that that I think you you can't put a tangible value on it so I I think that would give makes a bit of an advantage in terms of existing relationship with Allen Robinson but I don't think I don't have the learning curve for someone like Nick Foles will be I'll be very longer very hard I any looking knows the ball supposed to go he understands the offense he's played with good receivers in the past I don't think that that I think his familiarity with the offense to where the ball is supposed to go is going to be a bigger issue than whether or not he gets up to speed with the tendencies of Allen Robinson but my get my my hope is and my guess is they will find some time at some point to get together and go through some of it I saw all the you know the work out not to jump ahead to something different but I saw the work out there to went through in Nashville under the guidance of of Trent Dilfer and they're not you know obviously during these these times of of quarantine and keep it apart and the I saw some criticism on Twitter about how Hey you know these guys are touching the same football and I think it was Trent that was was snapping him the football there was some contact I don't know how the football universe feels about that but I mean those are the types of of events and and workouts that are going to alternately have to take place at one point you mentioned to her that gives me the opportunity to mention that of course this injury update is brought to you by rush university Medical Center rush offers more than thirty health care locations making it easy to choose excellence learn more at shoes rush dot org I guess if you're if you're in the market looking at drafting to a you're probably a team that has that you know it seems like at least initially to is probably going to be a top ten pick right I would think so yes and and again not by watching these videos I think you get a small feel for him physically I mean it's not like you see in the limp when he's dropping back it's it's not game speed and it's not game conditions but he does look fairly healthy the one thing that I was really impressed with is the zip on the football I don't analyze he had that strong arm I know a dollar did but I was not aware of the fact that he had the arm strength that he done my one question though would be if your if you if you do have a top ten pick and you're seriously considering to a how scared are you because you're right in the video looks good but the reality to is that and like I know how how every NFL team like you know these you you treat the every traffic it's been offers from pick it's it's such a precious commodity it's like gold you don't want to blow it and you know with some uncertainty and so I guess the question is how much would you be deterred he's he's a potential franchise quarterback if things go right but you're not really gonna have the opportunity to have your own doctors lay their hands on him and go through you know and and it's not just one injury there's you know two is had multiple injuries throughout his college career so how much would that deter you if you're running a franchise knowing too that if you're in the top ten it's you you've probably likely got plenty of holes to fill not just you know the quarterback position I think if you like him as a player you trust the medical report there's no question it's going to be a bit of a risk so you have to do the risk reward analysis and some teams may not you know put him in the first round because of that injury I would and if I was looking for a quarterback I would take the chance now I like Joe burrow at one but I would have no problem taking to life on the the dolphins are who else is being well the lions obviously are good I don't like I said I was watching today and you know how I feel and you and I are you about this all the time I saw Louis today I agree with Lewis talking about about Matthew Stafford the Detroit Lions or not the Detroit Lions that we all know and and and and and rely on them to played at five hundred or below five hundred football because of Matthew Stafford I'm not looking to replace Matthew Stafford if on the lines what I'm looking to do is build that team around now and I and I agree completely with you I was just kind of thrown them out because currently they have the third overall pick and so there are rumors that they're shopping yeah so we know exactly but that's the point is there kind of the you know when you talk about this draft and you talk about to a a lot of people seem to be targeting the lines because it seems like with the bangles take borough and then the Redskins ago hence like chase young because he's such a dynamic edge rusher clearly that you know you know if if the Bengals didn't have such a need at quarterback you have to believe that she said would probably be you know the the first overall pick because of what he brings to the table but everybody's focused in on the lions pick and whether or not they'll trade out the dolphins seem like you know a decent fit for to would have you believe in too with the player which I like what I've seen then I I I drafted and I understand that there is the injury it could be an issue so maybe I give them a little bit of time you know you're gonna have to talk to the doctors you're going to have to put some faith in them but look here's the deal if you draft to a let's say with the fifth overall pick okay any doesn't work that's gonna sock but if you do drafting many stays healthy and he is the player you think he's going to be he could change that to Richard Jack three of your franchise you know five to ten years and it's not like if you were telling me well I don't know Herbert the kid from Morgan I think I have a rated at the same level so I'm gonna take her because he's healthy if I have to a rated significantly higher than Herbert and I think his skill set is significantly better than her to not take any yeah well two things first of all if I'm if I can make the case for the lines to draft them you know you you have Stafford he's also he's just as much of an injury risk is to it he welcome back but I think with that bad back to you that's one bad hit away from the problem again no that's it it's interesting because I was I was actually thinking as you were talking about Stafford while is that you remember he was hot like he was always healthy in college staffer was the number one overall pick himself and then for his first two seasons he had some freak injuries that really just like if any quarterback was hit the way he was hit when he was you know a rookie in in the second year they probably would miss games as well then Matthew Stafford went on for eight consecutive season to start every game for the lions and quickly you know I set aside the whole idea that he was injury riddled and invent tell last year when against the bears on a random Sunday morning we're get ready for the game we found out that Matthew Stafford has had a broken back and was going to be able to start a button is not what ended Tony Romo's career with a bad back he will of course like the bad back is never a good thing but that's my point thirty years old I don't know drafting third overall and then you just have them sit for a year and get fully healthy and then you decide what you want to do with Matthew Stafford you can trade in if you wanted to write to if you wanted to the problem is is that they have so many needs that's true that drafting to up with the third overall pick when you've got Matthew Stafford who's a guy who has had one two three four five six six seasons of four thousand yards are better at this and I'm more of a Stafford fan probably the most I don't think he's been surrounded with a good running game consistently in his defense is maybe once or twice in his entire career he said a top fifteen defense I wouldn't be looking to trade that's lost any other decision and he's thirty two years old now we just traded a fourth round pick again twenty one million technicals isn't Nick thirty one yes yeah so I'm gonna be in Miller's right to me he wins say aids straight seasons playing every single game the automated and not not that I had and you make a really good point look if they go through the process and their doctors are saying look this back is messed up and he ain't gonna be the same guy going forward and then you got some the other team I'd be I'd be on the.

"Last I know I don't know that I would say how did you were it was not the brightest point of the twenty nineteen season boy it's so hard because there weren't a lot of them I'm is a nose job but I just can't come up with a better one so I probably should be shot them right I was trying to I guess my other one would be Allen Robinson for sure is a number one why don't the league now but I think we knew he was number one we knew he was a one one right yeah so you're you're probably right it should be shot that's probably it Kevin Pierre Louis who didn't do a whole lot till you know the day until he needed to come in Nicole because you did mention him though yeah there's there's no doubt what he did he he he makes a little bit easier to to lose a guy like that each of raven because if you lose straight in a row quite Smith can come back healthy Reese you have the pack surgery and not come back to training camp you've you have Kevin Pierre Louis who can play that middle local Caskey you can find another really good live back or so yeah you're probably right it's it's it's a shot it kind of sucks yeah it does styleite yeah right so as of late the bulls one point five hundred basketball on there only one and a half games on the last playoff spot in the east so Chater know shot by all star break which is in February the bulls will be a top eight seeding the last yes Dodge shot shot there played better they last night they had eight of thirteen.

"Now here's your host card former Westwood One studios in New York happy thanksgiving I was with one family wishes you a safe and enjoyable holiday especially for those this call to duty makes it so that they can't be at today's dinner table that's quite a different season from last year for the Chicago Bears we arrived a week thirteen and twenty eighteen Chicago had already won eight games thanks to a five game win streak but twenty nineteen is seen its share of problems especially on the offensive side of the ball one constant always been the play wide receiver Allen Robinson well the numbers are gaudy he's been a steadying hand in a tumultuous time I ask down this week about dealing with the season struggles or to make a lot and situation so everything you know may not be shown as we can thank the showcase you know that on there is a lot of scrutiny there's a lot of heavy scrutiny to Paul brown's everybody you know so close again on the season has really been ideal no but I think she knows to convert together a good stretch here the last five games themselves a plus because of the changes to a map in what's your development over the years from your time at Penn state to now the National Football League you came into the league as a pretty polished receiver are you a better wide receiver right now than you were then almost definitely piece every year out truly feel like I've gotten better on the statistics are one thing but you know I know that my game has has gotten better justice forcing of the route running you know on king of the fall on me at the detail in the routes and things like that you're not the which play ball became sources for now you start to see things a little bit quicker you aren't rushed as much you know again I mean just to get back on the first second year release some of their year in review login amok on my clock at the line of scrimmage in my quote the just one Russian always I will rush route you know my death make shortage from the Russian and things like that you know so so right now I'm at this is still in control no I could transfer it is for a week like this one it probably helps that you're facing a division opponent the you know a lot about what you see from alliance on film yeah you know and I will take them a few weeks ago but this is a good description we have a lot of good players on their decent you know all of four with next here soon you know on on the back you with the area Slagle cornerback keen on a choir some other on pass rushers over the past couple of seasons yes this is a good do you think sure I will be able to know that they have a good defensive play called moral Patricia has call these into some of the biggest games so we lined up we have to be locked in we have to be detail because we understand that the fifty cents there's so much history and tradition in the National Football League with regard to this holiday we think in terms of the fact that everybody not only other players other teams but generally a America is going to be sitting back and watching is there something special to playing on thanksgiving day definitely it's not thing of course the sports world in general I know for myself when it comes to your Christmas day I'm watching the basketball games now I remember growing up on washing early game on thanksgiving and it and they're all watching the game follow that so it definitely is a special time you know long enough by playing the game and then come back and spend thanksgiving on the fans you know look innocent people have the opportunity to ever play on thanksgiving also clean up to watch those gameplan assessment your destination yourself possible from a very young age try to mention at the top is the eighteenth dynasty intimate on thanksgiving day including last year when Chicago walked at Ford field the twenty three to sixteen went on the way to an NFC north title up next even more struggles and a new quarterback for the home team this is what we want coverage of the National Football League does your child have dreams some babies are born with a serious defect of the immune system fortunately my daughter Cassie was.

"The raiders radio network so after the bears rally back with three straight touchdown drives and take the lead all that would have been an awful plane ride home for the raiders J. Daniel twice took up with Allen Robinson for touchdowns Glenn pieces together a thirteen play drive that goes ninety seven yards and culminates with the Josh Jacobs two yard TD run and Oakland is back in front what is still to Gary on Conley interception of chase Daniel with just over a minute remaining to feel this victory it was a strange drive as well that ninety seven yard drive a lot more complicated than it needs to be the bears get a flag for roughing the punter and being a fourth and six for the raiders they move up to a fourth and one and then what they do what they decide they're going to go ahead and fake the point and they get a first down but only after there was a formal that was overturned on replay oh my gosh you want to talk about a roller coaster ride on the sidelines but again Josh Jacobs with a two yard run after open retains possession so the raiders go up seventeen nothing then they go down twenty one seventeen and then they come back with the wind and as I say a Jon Gruden site you know we had a couple special plays a short yardage or very effective today I think probably the biggest plays of the game and it takes a a talented quarterback to pull some of those off he makes a great pinpoint throws I don't believe he had a sack tonight and not a lot of people can say that again set the fence Gordon also went on to say all week long all we heard about was the bears pass rush I think our pass rush was pretty good just a little dig their in case you're wondering Khalil Mack Dick declined to talk to the media after the game here really quiet day and I'm sure he was the focus of a good portion of what the raiders were attempting to do mac with three solo tackles and a quarterback hit but this victory for the raiders is massive and for everyone who wondered if Jon Gruden in the second season was gonna blow up if this experiment was going to be I regret for mark Davis as the owner of the raiders even as they get ready to move to Vegas it's the opposite this team is galvanized they're buying into what Jon Gruden and Mike may occur building and I still say that there is a lot of sympathy for them considering what happened with Antonio brown in the preseason well going back that the few months before they kicked off the season so now the raiders are three into just a game back of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC west it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio bears who last year went from worst to first they actually fall to three into and right now we're sitting third in the NFC north tied with the Vikings so we could see movement every week in the north it's that kind of division were every team is about five hundred it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio you may remember what happened last week as the world turns with the Vikings Kirk cousins absorbing a ton of criticism his receiver Adam feeling frustrated the bond digs for us to rated partly because there's so much focus on running the ball and when they weren't successful last week they couldn't either and so the offense was anemic but it was also stuck in the mud but they could not get anything going they become so reliant on Dalvin cook when their opponents dear them to throw the ball they couldn't do it effectively but early on in this game against the New York Giants at MetLife stadium is fairly obvious that they were gonna take advantage of some of the giants weaknesses on defense and they were going to spread the ball around in case you're wondering Adam Phelan accept your apology Kirk cousins the shot gun.

"The grammatical your jumped up celebrating her Disney that look it was just a delayed effect to run in that white room going to P. argued his personal record could hold feeling his oats and albeit in tears and car is because it sounds like we're not care collagen my knee your payments you could still work on it but it's called start swollen up ever week baby it's just I mean the the the one good thing that's been going on for that one the defense but the other good thing is that he Pinero is been Kickin well and all of a sudden he's a question mark for the game on Monday night. you know we're just giving him a view into my men ups okay well man up to ten. the first Mongol man it's it's an oxymoron okay we'll get to that a couple of callers have a job that a let's grab them because one of the callers bring up a point that I was definitely going to make let's go to the south loop but any. hello. yes. turn off your radio baby got guide. are you talking about how hello rather than need even more targets right which is great I thought he heard progress in Jacksonville the big play guy what do you what do you have against Anthony Miller after a rookie record. all I. don't know what I've got nothing against Miller I'm not seeing to throw every ball at the two all Allen Robinson but Beller it definitely he's builders had two targets in two games that's a joke I'm gonna get you. how to get rid of the white collar. the friendly right one hotel pass in the backfield when everybody can make your own strict place of course you can run it with a wide receiver. it is ridiculous play conventional football yeah for that one find your big play guys on the field but what if I fall. conclusion yeah and we appreciate the call what what did you say sneak the ball to draw forth in one and one wow for the one you want to go for the year wow all right. might not be a good decision well you know those added have a chance to talk to you but at first came when he lined up corporal patters is the only guy in the backfield on third one against the Packers just like tell you do it you've got Dave I'm sorry you got a guy you know it's gonna be a trick play yeah and while still yelp hours you're just gonna handed right from the to the entity Miller stuff Miller is a guy that they got. is it two targets in two games Miller doesn't have the speed to get separation all right is that we I think and in the game plan when they know you're not going to go to Robinson right at least forty percent of the time one of these Robinson the bald eagle cobra Miller no you understand you're going to make sure and if you if you ratchet up there percent dinner to Robinson then they can just go straight to Miller and say okay we'll cover him this time because they go Robinson again right. so they throw their thrown around two twenty seven point eight percent of Travis he's throws I don't care making thirty making forty I'm certain thirty five percent of the time how often do you think that'll maybe Eric could fight this how how often do you think drew Brees threw to Michael Thomas. I'll be more than twenty seven forty percent of the time okay when you've got a stud receiver when you've got your number one receiver you go to a whole lot and then he opens up it frees up all the guys that's which stipulates for the number of partners yes it does and I agree with the caller and I think he's played calling people said well now he's calling these plays because he doesn't trust true basically he doesn't think ms can do this match could yeah you know that's his job to put the game plan is and if that's the game plan. where does rebel the card because the way Nagy is baby sitting for basically when his rookie contract is up he's not gonna be able to ask for a hundred fifty million because he's just a game manager and it's not going to decimate the team now they'll be able to afford a good tape. no I call these other quarterbacks taken a hundred fifty gonna got as a child and I got a star jet it's an all pro side that's what I'm to the eighty five bears view Wilbur Marshall was the first one to go yeah the cast you didn't want to play right. yeah well rose as well you know the same perception is the salary cap now but right hall come on now that we talk we talk about that day he and his play calling for Mitchell to risk you get a lot of ski who we don't quarterback around the National Football League he's a much better commentator than he was a quarterback well I said that last week. you don't actually have to play pro football to know about it you can actually stand on the sideline with a clipboard and see what's going on and know what to do but he's he's really good at breaking stuff well using their quarterback. and he talked about that you've got to get aggressive enough with his play calling it's almost like watching a get the game in the way that you could hear traditionally have a defense of coach called football games like defensive coaches usual like are we to be in good on special teams we played great defense offense just don't turn the ball over it it's almost like we're watching that play itself out you know I'd say this is like watching the tape really they they keep they gave him one chance that the local ball don't feel that was a go route on third and greeted David not governmental I'm back like last year there the buried the chunk plays that they kind of created and and there is the opportunity to throw the football downfield be a play action and I said like man he's he's courageous in his play calling because he's willing to call plays that used to be gadget or gimmick plays and now they're part of this offense in this and I'm not sitting here saying Mitchell played well he he is struggling but he's not really given the opportunity to throw the football down filled they both have to take ownership of this and they both have to because here's the thing you've got a great defense to leave I always want to be more aggressive at the plate caller in more aggressive as a quarterback because I that's going to free us up to make more big plays and the more big plays that we can make it tell us. now my friends really goes to have fun. okay well you could tell us a quarterback Donovan right for yeah that's how you throw interceptions and get turnovers and penalties when you got a good defense you know who says that the way Nagy call that Denver game is the only reason we won that game because Stravinsky ready if he's going down feel torn interceptions we lose that Denver game. if you write in your right if he throws intercept is he over through here over through he only got one you can see him get ready to play yet this year he's only got one interception how many routes to he getting training care all right in the preseason yeah well this is still his preseason out other words sure it'll be ready we don't have you don't have the rhythm and timing with his receivers to throw them open. in a game right right they practice is one thing game should something completely different we don't know that you don't know where they're going to be horn hits were how he throws the ball research objectors speed or they're going to be now no he's not where they are right do you think I brought this up yesterday do you think that he has. that Nagy has too many toys he had right now he's got in the back feel the as Colin Montgomerie and Cordero Patterson at the wide receiver he's got Gabriel Miller right Allen Robinson dad at the Thai dad he threw his tight ends last week he threw the product through the shaking and Burton whatever else I don't game three almost time to go to the wide receivers that down for you all right because you know around everybody I can see he's like a chess player you know that moved didn't really mean that day the next week. and you know he doesn't. what Colin isn't being is under utilized he's not going down for real baby now you're not going down for you though he did that one and it was not the way it does maybe under thrown by Travis you little bit but yeah that's what I'm saying Colin's there's no like eighty reviews is that he'll in Kansas city you don't see him catching up I shall pass that use a lot of yard he's god no okay you can throw him down yeah and it opens up to date yeah that's all you know like we use really golf that's how he should be using cold. it's a book down there and get them saved his date right. and everybody now Miller's open underneath. have they have they lied backers drop have all that stuff so the space underneath out or you want to Kansas city game Kansas city's on TV today they play the ravens you watch Kansas city there was talk about patch will hold used to what a believable what patch will hold his open guys to throw all over the field every time you drop back there's like four open guys are well because they spread the field all over the place and they know the ball's going to get a ball. those balls are put on their hands in full stride baby they don't got a weight on it. they are wide open it's easier to old old wide open guys usually well usually when you have friends because they get separation Fred and it's up to the quarterback to drop the ball in the bucket now you can be short on it or the difference about university right to wait on it the difference about catches up I was Eric was able to get the numbers Michael Thomas is surprised me is is low that is low as it is but maybe I I thought twenty seven forty percent was was not as high as it could have been for Mitchell to rescue going to Ella Robinson drew Brees threw to Michael Thomas just twenty eight point eight percent of the time last year your brokers from that was going up. you know that like I said it's a chess game yeah and all these call use wanted Nagy doesn't play his guys in the preseason because he wants them to be healthy in December. I understand right what's certain of these game plans as for the stretch run our promise you was yeah that's the one thing to where where he's not throw everything out there and you know what you you said it a game plan okay in the NFL you game plan to do one thing we're not.

"But we feel like there's a great vibe that exists and sometimes that's under it's under appreciated. Sometimes it's over. Appreciate it describe. How you feel about being a member of the Chicago Bears team? The does give out such a great five. Again, it was it was it was the most fun season. I had in the I had an NFL, you know, again, like I said before, you know, being able to just even now, you know, what I'm maybe riding in my car or something like that, you know, being able to hear songs that were played in played in clubs. Definitely makes you reminisce, you know, already a little bit. You know, so being able to have the guys in the locker room that we have and and guys able to to rally together, you know, down the stretch games even games where I'm thinking back like Arizona on a roll the giants on a roll. Even though we didn't pull it out. Just to see how everybody continued to fight knowing I think what we're so smash both so special about this team all year long was you know, whenever things may not have been going how we wanted to go. Everybody was just trying to make the necessary adjustments, you know, to to fix it. No it wasn't. It was never, you know, not one time guys pointing the fingers, you know, where stuff not being handle, you know. It was everybody, you know, taking taking the bull by the horns and trying to correct anything that we needed to you know. And I think that that helped us one a lot of gangs down the stretch. And able to make adjustments, you know, being able to change things on the five being able to adapt to different defense and things like that. And I think when you have guys like that who are really into winning and really into helping the team win. You know, what makes everything easy, you know? And like I said before I think for us, you know, again with us she's coming back to work that we need to put any Scott will be forced wide receiver. Allen robinson. Joining us Waddell and sell VSBN one thousand how did club dubbed star. And what was your reaction to it? The first time. I have no idea. How clubs have started? I I don't I'm trying to think, and I was I was actually shot. You know, again, it was the first time that I had been been in a professional football a room like that, you know. But just seeing how God, you know. How guys really how God's really responded to it. It really makes you enjoy winning. You know, winning in the NFL is something that comes easy. You know? So being able to to know that we have clubbed up, you know, after the win and just kinda seeing the excitement on guys hit him back to the last room after a win. You know, it was it was fun. You know, you look forward to going back into that locker room after after a victory. You know? So I think I think that in itself again, it's something that's a small thing. But definitely something that guys, you know, noticing that guys. We're looking forward to each and every each and every Sunday. Alan. We saw your tweet with three with regard to the the Vic Fangio being hired in Denver. How much of a loss to have Vic leave this team? You know, it's always a big loss when you have coaches or players leave, you know on the game. I mean from playing this leave you do understand that you know, that this two thousand eight Chicago Bears team, wouldn't it wouldn't be the same that. You're not thinking we knew that, you know, especially when you have a good team. You know, we have a good team is going to be some some players leave is going to be some coaches league. You know? That's what happens with good teams. You know? So I think that's I think that's inevitable know. But again, you know, it's gonna be a Vickers is a big loss. You know? He's a guy who's been here. You know, even even before I've been there, you know. So so guys we usefulness stuff like that. But. Oh. I don't think there'd be anything, you know, that that will make the defense taking says backyard defense has has a ton of talent on it. You know, and. And again, coach coach coaches coaches but off all year. No. I'm definitely excited for him. No is is a great opportunity. How surprised or how proud were you of of not only yourself, but your teammates for sort of embracing Cody parkey after all that. You know, it's a tough situation. And being like, I said before as a guy who's in professional athletes and April fictional, actually, you know, who who who knows it. It's a lot on the line and stuff like that. You know, it's it's not a situation. It's not an ideal situation for anybody to wanna be, you know, so so whenever it's site that you know, like, I said before, you know, is it tough situation, you know. And that's why team that you know, he comes to work each and every day like like all of us. Do you know? So so for us not to offer him not to be able to have the success that he may have wanted to have his tough, you know, at at at the end of the day. You know, we're still we're still teammate, you know. So I mean, that's what your team mates are for there to be there for you on a separate note that horrible injury that Alan Hunte suffered have you had a chance to talk to him since. I talked to him. You know, he's been very good spirits. You know that was that was good too good to hear from him. You know, again, I was in. I was in a in a medium when the injury, actually, the, you know, so I saw a lot of I got a lot of Texas. So a lot of tweets at people talking about it, you know, but I didn't I didn't wanna watch the entry myself personally. No. But being able to talk to him Sunday after the game. And you know, just hearing that everything for him, you know, wasn't high spirits, and that everything was cool that you know, that that definitely was good. You're gonna give us a Super Bowl guarantee for next year. I guess you're going into my third season in the in the NFL I made some I made some predictions and stuff like that. You know? So I just since then I've I've I steer away from. I don't have any any predictions or anything. No. I can't. I can't say I can't predict you know, that guys will be we'll be ready to go. We'll be locked in April comes. There you go. That was in Robinson from earlier today. Good stuff on Vic Fangio. Remember the Allen Hearn stuff him in Allen Hearns were teammates in Jacksonville. And it was just just something Saturday night. I mean, I would not want again, I couldn't get myself to watch it. I was sitting in our living room. And my mother-in-law was over from out of town with my wife, and I yelled physically screamed, and they were going what's going on. And I go you have to see this. And I rely on rebounded for them. I love. So so awful, I have to show that was the only time I'd seen it again. Like, I thought that that was the worst of the any of the injuries that we've seen the Louisville. Can't really. Yes. That was a compound dislocation to the Louisville kid, right? He's bone sticking. This was just in slow motion. When you were unexpecting it a close up and the weights snapped. "How surprised or how proud were you of of not only yourself, but your teammates for sort of embracing Cody parkey after all that. Yeah. You know, it's a tough situation to being like I said before as a guy who's in professional, athletes, and a professional athlete. We'll be locked in April comes can't wait. We we love this team Allen. And love having you in Chicago. Thanks for your time today. We appreciate it. Thanks. I appreciate you Allen Robinson bears wide receiver. And he had a great game. He had a great. Statistically, you look at his numbers and say, well, there are a lot of guys had look I feel very comfortable having Allen Robinson on this team. And I believe that while he may not have a fourteen hundred yards fourteen touchdowns season. Here the way he did in Jackson. He's a one. He's he's a he's a one number one wide receiver, and regardless of what the stats say, Saul. Make a lot of big catches and crunch time. Regardless of the game. He is going to Tampa officially with Bruce Arians. Hi, dan. Hey, guys, first of all great stuff there with Alan. You guys can see why he is so well respected and well liked the house hall that guy is the pro's pro and are very lucky to have him. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of pro's pro I'm sure you're all over the story and who or what direction Matt Nagy will go in. Now, the Todd Bowles is out of the media will do you believe they're gonna turn? Yeah. It's hard to know, exactly. The names on on Matt's shortlist. Right. And then he said last week, obviously, he's got to be prepared for these situations. And he's gonna have that short-list to keep it very close to the best. The vast obviously Todd was a name that everyone connected the dots through and said, this would be something that made a lot of sense. Now he's on his way to Tampa for now. I think you sort of say, okay, is that Donald L a guy that you would bump up the ladder a little bit? They had do you want to stay put you wanna stick around here? Give it a go as a coordinator here or will the lure of Vic trying to bring it to the Denver. You know, cancel that one out. So it's gonna be very interesting here in a very fluid situation over the next forty eight seventy two hours to see which direction this goes. And this is a very very significant loss for the bears. And I think they're aware of that. And all of a sudden a very promising feel-good season hasn't some elements where you say, wow, this is going to be really really difficult to sustain the success. They just have it is a tough loss. And and I think we all have a tremendous. Amount of respect for what Vick has has meant to this team. And how good a defensive coordinator he is. But I describe this earlier this is not a death sentence. Because no. On this. This roster. Regardless of who they bring into coordinate this. This defense worth they promote from within your expectation level. I'm assuming that this is gonna be a perennial top five team conservatively for the next several years. You would hope and one of the things I just wrote for our website is that this might be the most attractive position opened in the NFL right now, we've got a defense that led we can take away in points allowed. You have four players that were selected to the Pro Bowl three of them. All pros. You got ten starters coming back possible. They could bring back Callahan and Amos fully continue that nucleus Matt continuity there. You've got Khalil Mack on your roster. They're going to be a lot of defensive-minded coaches that are lining up to have the opportunity to be part of that. So that there are pieces in place. Also, you're working for Matt Nagy an offense of mine a guy who gave Vic puck control the defense. This year really told them to just take the reins and do what he wanted with it. So this job is going to be very attractive. I would just caution everyone to to think that you're not going to break stride. As you go forward. Think back to two thousand six we had that civil defense with her locker, and Briggs and Tillman and Tommy Harris and Mike Brown. And while you're gonna way they lost. Ron Rivera switched over to Bob Babich dropped off significantly in the major statistical categories and stumbled from first place the last place in one seven and nine so things happen in this league. And it's very hard. When you have to disrupt that continuity and make changes on the fly to just expect everything to fall into place. So it's you know, there's reasons to be hopeful, and there's reasons to be very cautious. Even if you hire the best defensive coordinator, the likelihood that you're going to have twenty seven interceptions or whatever the number, right? Is and all of these defensive touchdowns and everything that happened this year, it's unlikely that you will will get all of those numbers. Again, it doesn't mean you still can't be a top three or top five defense. It just means that Iraq, not everything is necessarily going to fall in your direction with all that said other than Donna tell Dan is there another name on that defensive staff that they could possibly promote from within to take over for Vic. Yeah. Honestly, I think that is the guy, you know. I don't think there are coordinator types. They've got a really really good staff and a really good group of position coaches. And so I think Ed is probably the only in house candidate in my opinion there to be bumped up to my coordinator role and now with dick leaving now you're talking about. Okay. So what does that do to all your position coaches when all the dust settles on this doesn't do any of them? Stay do. They all go. Elsewhere. How does this all shake out? And then all of a sudden, you have that that glimpse again into the the idea that there there won't be continuity on their side that was such a big part of this year successes that the defense hit the ground running in April. And and just kept going all the way to the end of the season. And now, you're going to have a new system, you know, new responsibilities new little tweaks to how you do things week-to-week as it's all going to be a little different. And so, you know, it's gonna be very interesting. Evolution in a very interesting transition for this group. Did you did you think that adds more likely to go with Vic? You know, I don't know that that would be the way I would lean that's would be my guess, he's spent the last eight years together, they know each other very, well, they have a very tight bond, and you would think that that would mean something, but every coach has his own personal decisions to make sometimes you don't wanna leave right? Sometimes you don't wanna move. Sometimes you don't want to, you know, make up your personal life and do things, particularly when you're in a situation here that if you were offered this job, you know, exactly what you're getting. Right. You know, the players on the defense. You know, what this group is capable of? And so there would be plenty of reasons to be enticed into two sticking around. So we'll see what happens we are expecting to hear from from Ryan pace matinee get health before the week up. And if they don't have a coordinator hired by the time, they talk hopefully, they'll certainly be able to shed a little bit more light on on the numbers of different directions that they're going to have to go to figure this whole thing out. Yes, I mean such is life when you are successful. We thought that the of the NFC north teams the bears were going to be the team most. Stable, and I still believe they are. But now you have to have to replace the defensive coordinator who was very good at his job. And things are Vick was the ultimate security blanket for a first year head coach really probably didn't want to worry about the defense because he was so interested in getting his young quarterback up to speed. So it will be very very interesting. You had another day to remove yourself from Sunday's loss. Is there something that happened on Sunday that you now remember that? Or is this a loss that you've already been able to put away? No, I think that there's an important, you know, sort of learning experience that can be had by zooming out and trying to figure out exactly what we learned on Sunday. And I think it's a lot of what we talked about on Monday is just understanding that this team is positioned to be in the Super Bowl hunt for the next half decade or so, but they have a multitude of concerns, and there were things that popped up on Sunday..

"So his finish his finish was worse than where Landry's was I think Robinson makes a bigger impact on your team real. When when when you're getting good Allen Robinson, which we've seen very very small amounts of we had his sophomore year was incredible bits and pieces of this game were also of the season. We're incredible it. Meanwhile, Jarvis is correlation when Baker was actually succeeding Jarvis was frequently doing nothing. I mean, he he did have a couple games over one hundred couple of games with a touchdown during that second half of the season, eighty one receptions. Yeah. Off of the one twelve hundred Miami. I mean, do you see him repeating a hundred reception season again? That's an in the car. I definitely think it's possible as Baker gets better and better and in the ceiling gave him more the ceiling of Baker Mayfield is a lot higher than trubisky's to me this or that Jarvis Robinson Brooks Arab barely. I'm gonna take Jarvis. Yeah. I'm gonna take Jarvis just by a little bit just because of Baker make Baker Mayfield, Amari Cooper, or Brandin cooks. Lauren Cooper Brandin cooks this or that dynasty edition Brooks. These are hard. A Mario per twenty four years of age. Which is surprising Brandin cooks twenty-five. Both of them have played on multiple teams. Brandin cooks this past year, sixteen games played one hundred seventeen targets eighty receptions, twelve hundred yards and he baseline touched. He's technically sixteen games played. But he had the game. We're got knocked out right at the very beginning. So I'm fifteen games. Yeah. Mario Cooper ended up fifteen games one hundred and seven for seventy five hundred thousand and seven seventy five hundred seven targets. Yeah. But I say he said a hundred and seven I'm sorry. Seventy five receptions one thousand and five yards seven touchdowns. And this this is not very close for me. Really? Now, I'll take Manica every single year. Brandin cooks does the same thing in every single year. People don't want to trust them member of this year. Yeah. I was out. Look the past four seasons. One hundred.

"Montemayor in four Rachel Lindsay tonight with Parkhurst lick and Bobby carpenter, and it is a close game in Chicago, thirty five seconds to go. The Philadelphia Eagles lead sixteen to fifteen but the bears got a huge return out of Tari Cohen. He got them to essentially midfield and now Trubisky. Allen Robinson and the bears are very close to field goal range here just outside of the twenty five yard line. Now. So guys where are you at with how the eagles are defending this because this is not as though Mitchell Trubisky is made incredible throws. I think this coverage out of the eagles has been a little loose which was a knock on them coming into this game, Bobby. So that was a little bit loose right there on the perimeter of the fact that they gave up a seventy eight yard completion. When in the thirty five yard line inside of me. These are NFL kickers. They're paid professionals. I'm sure they're gonna miss, but if you start getting fuel goes under forty five yards those guys make a more than ninety percent of the time. So they're bringing heat because the one thing that Chicago could not do was take a sack that. No, more timeouts you under thirty seconds. You you're going to struggle to be able to get that thing spiked in others. Fifteen seconds left is third into. Here's what's interesting if they take a sack here he won't take a sack. Cassatt that is a cardinal Senator delays. I'm just telling you if they if he somehow took a sack right there. They wouldn't have been able to spike it because this is. But this is what I like now, by the way, Cody parkey is going to hurt. To kick a game winning field goal to send the bears onto the next round of the playoffs guy. Sees miss ten kicks this year. That's number one in the NFL, and this is one of the highest paid players and then highest-paid kickers in the National Football League. Cody parkey, this is anything but a short bat forth into there's ten seconds left to go in the wildcard game between the eagles and the Chicago Bears. And when we've looked at kickers this year, this has been nothing but a short bat this a forty three yard field goal in Chicago with Cody parkey, and they called time out. I believe yes. The eagles have called time to try it item, by the way, Cody parkey, kicked it right down the middle time. Yeah. Last time they tried to ice them. So you see all the time. And and I wonder why they're doing it. They're getting practice the rhythm. Well, guess what? He maybe maybe he shouldn't have practice. You never know. Yeah. Well, and I think this is where we have seen so many miss kicks in so many guys I think Tucker missed one for Baltimore today in his home stadium. And you you have. But I just can't believe that we're in a situation where kicking is winning and losing you games. And a lot of times it's losing games and much to his credit. You have a guy in Los Angeles. And Mike badgley? Who was on the show earlier, by the way, if you missed it here on football friendly, make sure you get to the pod center on ESPN ESPN app to hear all the interviews because he was great. He was five or six today. Great. And you look at to really today and this whole wild card weekend. Sebastian Jankowski getting hurt completely changed that games that game completely. Pull it up. Oh my God. Hit the upright and missed. Cody parkey has missed the field goal. The Philadelphia Eagles will likely win this game with five seconds to go matinee standing on the sideline in Chicago with a disbelief on his face. Cody parkey has missed the game winning field goal for the Chicago Bears. How is kicking while you can see you hate icing the kicker, by the way, he ice the kicker to perfection here. Can I just tell you? How many times Cody parkey is hit the upright this year for the bears? This was maybe three in one game. Yes, he hit the upright. And then it hit the crossbar almost could've went through on the Karimov crossbar thing. It was like a homerun run, man. It's such an mall on the way through their almost went through. And there's just something about Nick foles. I don't know what it is. He had nothing to do with that Philadelphia. Probably shouldn't have won this game. Because all all measurable metrics. The bears were a better team and somehow. Cody parking misses a forty three yard field goal in the Philadelphia. Eagles are now moving onto the divisional round after barely squeaking into the playoffs. Again. Not to have some crazy instant reaction if you'll Lucia Kogyo bears, and it is a final in Chicago. Philadelphia win sixteen fifteen. They had to New Orleans now. And now, you know that the Dallas Cowboys are heading to Los Angeles to take on the Rams, I think this is the absolute best case scenario for the Dallas. Cowboys fields disagreed with us. Field Yates disagreed with us. Do you like Dallas going to Los Angeles markers? Like why I think what they are going to be able to do is run the ball. One of the things that the Rams have been good at at times is is getting to the quarterback lately, it's been kind of an up and down trajectory. But one of these things that these defenses that thrive on getting Saxon. Getting the quarterback a lot of times they play the run on their way to the quarterback. And I love accuser say what does that mean? It's like if you get lucky in the guy runs into you then make the play if not go get a sack. So it'd be interesting to see what happens because I do think that Zeke Elliot can get going in that game. And. Gosh, how about this NFC NFC worst division football horse? But they got two teams advancing going to teams in the divisional round is something that not a lot of us would have said is the Philadelphia Eagles stunned the Chicago Bears. Cody parkey the kicker for the bears misses a last second field goal. I mean, it is this is the dream continuing for the Philadelphia Eagles. If you're an eagles fan, by the way, and again, not to have the instant reaction. What are you going to say about Nick foles and Carson Wentz because what had Adam Schefter report this morning that the Philadelphia Eagles will be taking offers for Nick foles? How many eagles fans are going to say, Dan themselves. Well, why don't we give? Why don't we give Nick foles another shot? I think that's probably when it happened in Philadelphia mean. I mean, somehow he even made it back to a second Super Bowl. I'm gonna tell you this. That's rarefied air mean, you're a little more experienced in the game that I am you can start counting. I don't know if you can get off to hands the amount of quarterbacks that have taken their team tobacco back Super Bowl. Let alone one John Elway. I mean think about that think about the air that he's in. Oh, absolutely. There's probably less than ten guys that have gone back to back let alone if he would have won back to back super banned, especially active players now you're talking Tom Brady. Russell wilson. I. That might be where it begins and ends Montana's probably there, but you're right Montana. So looking historically there are some guys. But it's such a narrow narrow group of men. How do you explain the fact that Nick foles is were reacting to the Philadelphia Eagles winning the wildcard game in Chicago tonight, sixteen fifteen I in Nick foles without question. Nick foles led them to another win. He made throws that had to be made. They executed. He made the throw to golden Tate on the goal line to win the game. Essentially, your voice not only that it was like a sidearm throwing pressure in his face. It wasn't an easy. Just over the top sculpted around the defender coming off with pressure in his face. It was very very impressive. Here's the one thing about Nick foles that everybody's forgetting the beginning of the season. It was like, oh, he's played. You know, he'll be great. He can play three or four weeks. He'll be three four zero one coursing gets back slide him. It'll be great. Nick foles did not play well to start the season. And I think he might be a guy does better with limited expectations. We're the fact when everybody's counting through mid again. Like, okay, it's Nick foles will put him in. We really we we found out what he was again, he showed his true colors at the beginning of the season. And then he starts playing you'll better football. I don't know if the guy plays better when it's cold better around the holidays better in the playoffs. I'm not sure. But there's just something about Nick foles where it's not just him the rest of the team seems to play better they do and there's a feeling on that sideline that we have a chance to win every single game with this guy in and I think that Carson Wentz has done a unbelievable job at the at Philadelphia and with his teammates pulling everything together and getting everybody back on board. But when the ball and when the throne of quarterback is handed over to Nick foles there. Seems like the guys just would take a bullet for forum. It's that matters to man does. And they had this, faith and confidence in falls. And maybe it is because they love the underdog mentality. Maybe it is they say look this guy is the ultimate underdog. But I played against Nick foles in that chip Kelly offense back in the day when when it was his team, and he was up and down. And it did seem like when the pressure was on him even back, then that's when he thrived and right now, you do not wanna play Nick foles in December or January shocking. And in Chicago for sure what a win for the Philadelphia Eagles. They now move on to New Orleans. Don't go anywhere. We are going to have full reaction to an improbable victory. It felt like they were in it. They were out of it. The Philadelphia Eagles are moving on the coaches will step to the podium next. You're going to hear it live on football frenzy, ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Radio.

"This question for Mark. Let's take care of the emails from Patten Dearborn. Mark. Do you think? Harper will sign what the cups and has a cubs fan. What you want him? That is interesting to cubs Rafter Harper. Well, as I said earlier he and Kris Bryant or doing a lot as they go to concerts. They go to stop the wives do stuff together. I think Brian is trying to sway. I don't know if the records family wants to pay that kind of money though. But I think Bryant wants his Las Vegas, buddy. They're both from here. They live here in the off season. He wants Harper in Chicago. So that matters to the wives. And if it matters to Kris Bryant, and if the Ricketts family wants to pony up. There's no reason to world like, right? Why Bryce Harper should not end up at Wrigley field. The Kris Bryant big deal having that relationship with Brian. Kris Bryant scrape player to that's that's great. A long time and he wants Harper with them. I mean, they're they're literally they do. They're seen around town. You're all the time. They go to school the night's games are gonna concerts. They might already gonna Gaga. I know they went to the Mars, I think together 'cause they're always Dumars together. You wanna get his phone number put him on the show sometime Mark who's? Either one. 'cause I hang out with Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant, I know you do so get the number for me. Yeah. Okay. A couple of twenty year olds are hanging. What you got? Now. Shocking. Belleville? Why do the Tigers Goto arbitrating? What Nick if he isn't worth it? So bring up Robeson and Maddox first of all. You just can't dump guess channels for nothing. You want to trade him? But you gotta get something in return for him. And do you have to go to arbitration? Or what else, you know? You're not gonna do that the teams lined up to sign him. I they're not gonna not tender Nicasio. So this will be the first arbitration case, I think since even Dombrowski, let's get a clean record on arbitration, and a view, I think had a clean record so far too. I know Dubrovsky as well. Let me ask questions before we can tell you the bears trailed ten to six near the ball in the Philadelphia. Twenty one yard line was interception or fumble. Doesn't look like that. I saw. No. That was no wonder they had the ball. The last time. I looked ahead. The ball in. The eagles had the ball into bears territory. What happened there rescues hit a couple of big pretty deep a forty five yard pass. The Allen Robinson. That doesn't answer. My question. The eagles had the ball embarrassed territory. Just a couple of minutes go through computers, right anyway. Did they try a field goal? They fumble. What happened? No. There was no fumble or interception. That was just a deep pass that got the bears. Philadelphia eagles. Legals has a very when I looked at a couple of minutes ago, man. A man I saw the Beagles had the ball and bears territory. I just wonder what happened. To see it. Now, I was at their own radio show here, buddy. We gotta get this computer setup where we we get the right deals here because we've been screwed by this computer before the final score. And it wasn't a final score. We're almost done. We just we are so loud that went fast fast. You got it Mark. Thank you. By the way, the Red Wings leads still don't look at that again because at the end of two so we know that they're not going to change that. Thank you, Mark. Thank you. Ron we'll see guys happy new year to you. When you come back in town when the walk weather gets into the seventies. We'll see you next week here in Detroit Mark by guys take care. No, we won't see you next week votes next month. You don't see.

"Sean Jeffrey fifty nine hundred Audrey Robinson, fifty six Tara walk at fifty three hundred. Okay. So there's a lot of receivers I can keep going down the list or other receiver. I think those are the main ones you listed are the main ones there. Yeah. So tell me. Give me one. Are you are you sold that you're gonna have Hopkins on a lot of your team's going to be your your highest price guy or every team? I want L, Sean, Geoffrey Yu L, Jeff, even though they're playing against the bears defense let you know this as well as I do Nick foles loves throwing him the ball. Alshon Jeffery is the last game since full to over seventeen twenty seven eleven seventeen fantasy points on drafty loves throwing him the bulk and she's been pretty safe in terms of production. You're getting double digits pretty much every single time. He any let's throw that high point ball fulls likes to throw that like post route where he just let's go up and get it. Yeah. Jeffrey's only fifty nine hundred maybe a bargain, the is of argon. He's not maybe what do you think about Eldrick Robinson or sorry Aldridge? Allen Robinson, the wrong wrong wide. Resented person's name the receiver on the Vikings. Oh, Paul Drik. Allen Robinson on the bears though. Obviously the better player. But is he a better play this week? The Nash on Jeffrey's I'm gonna keep good without Trump because we've said this before and you said the stats Nick foles in in Altron Jeffrey have this bond have his brotherhood. Have this relationship seems Jenner? Jenner. They hit go dancing. You don't. I don't know that now I get extra points and fantasy if they go out to dinner after the game's over. That'd be kind of cheaply. I won money. I'll wait they went onto dinner. I lose like thirty bucks. All right. So give me a player amid priced starting receiver that you're looking at this. I know you just talked about Al Sean anyone else that kind of Amari Cooper is definitely a one. All right. And he's a higher price on any other like mid to lower ranged wide receivers. Mike Williams is actually when I looked at because Mary he had that breakout game recently. Are you worried though because he played against Baltimore two fantasy points had one catch for seven yards lied. He broke out after that. No. You actually was that before. So he had thirty six points against the cheese, then he had to against Baltimore, then sixteen against the Broncos everyone's due for a break up of formats, and I think he's one of them. I get worried though with a guy like him because I'm sorry who made that catch in the who who is one of the best players in the rule against the patriots. That was David Tyree. Who I know? I know anybody can go off. But I'm just I'm just making a Williams. I don't. I wouldn't play him though. Just because the raven league play you either the ravens pass defense down. The field is one of the best. If not the best and the NFL and Mike Williams is more of a big play like down the field..

Dan, Dan, Orlovsky, if you heard the interview that Dan said he thinks there are going to be opportunities that secondary to take shots down the feeling. That's why I said this to me is I didn't hear the interview. This to me is the the championship caliber don't watch watching a lot of tape on this. He said, I'm just telling you if that picks his spots correctly will be placed place to be made where you can make big gains cana- quarterback. Touchdown make the make the throws. Right. That's the that's why I said to you. This is the most compelling question of all. And I trust this coach and how he handles his quarterback. That's probably outside from the side from the defense. What I had the most confidence in his Matt is is the coach is the coach managing his quarterback. That's what I have the most confidence. So do you try to ice? Isolate tree Cohen in different situations and get him out on wheel routes try to create mismatches with formation in motion to get to record on matchups where you know, you can get the best of him. Do you just tell Allen Robinson? Look, we paid you as a one you're facing a former. You know practice squad guy, you go go in your individual battle. And then you ask Mitch to throw the ball. So that to me whether or not Matt decides to to say, listen, it's their weakness. And I have enough confidence in our downfield pass game. That's what we're going to do or we gonna play a little bit more ball control. We're going to run it because we've had more success running it. We're going to have our control passing game. It we're gonna let our defense dictate the entire pace and flow of this game.
