"L. W. you know I saw something yesterday it's really hard to believe how college students are not plugged in and when they are plugged in there usually plugged in the wrong way this from campus reform it's entitled stunning percent of college students unfamiliar I'm familiar with the killing of Iran general Soleimani basically what the poll says a recent poll found that forty nine percent of U. S. college students course there being indoctrinated forty nine percent of U. S. college students disapproved of the United States decision to kill general Soleimani the poll also found not surprisingly that Republican students from more likely the favor the move then democratic students were by a wide margin but here's the thing I mean and those numbers they're they're distressing when forty nine percent of college students disapprove of really us defending our country but the poll found a whopping twenty six percent were unfamiliar with the strike against the Iraqi in general twenty six percent roughly one fourth now I was in college at the time in nineteen seventy nine the first Iranian crisis with the hostages and I tell you what if you went on that college campus housing you see I would bet you that nine out of ten people knew about that and of course that kind of played itself out over time but twenty nine percent unfamiliar with the strike against them twenty six percent of the students strongly disapproved while twenty three percent somewhat disapproved another ten percent strongly approve there's you Republicans of presidents decision while fifteen percent somewhat approved and again like I just said the remaining twenty six percent they were not familiar with the topic and again as just kind of hard to believe it really is and what yep yeah I talk about it till I'm blue in the face what is going on on our college campuses should concern parents who are sending their kids to college Hey we got to take a break for the news but when we get back it is of my elder map is correct forty three days away from the first pitch being thrown in a spring training game red spring training so we're getting close and man the Reds were busy in the offseason it's kinda dizzying well I got a guy's gonna sorted out force after the news and that is none other than our man for all things Reds day deity Armbruster he's gonna tell us what the team is gonna look like Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "There you have it then she lied to chant impeach voted five impeach forty five and that was back in I believe November of two thousand and seventeen but is Maxine waters called on this heck no and again we all know why some people can say anything they want in the media public figures and are not question on and she is one of them and like I said she doesn't even live in our own congressional district but when you boil it all down people what the Democrats are doing is wrong wrong wrong wrong and it's dangerous it's very dangerous and I'm gonna be honest I've said on these airwaves time and time again that president trump was stupid to bring up the bodies in his call to president so whiskey it was just done it was ill advised didn't need to be done but he did it but guess what presidents have been doing this kind of stuff for years and trump just did it clumsily it comes down really I think like so much in Washington DC it comes down to an issue Bob proportionality doesn't it I mean do we impose the death penalty for speeding violation and that's what they're doing here politically the impeachment is the death penalty and it's just crazy and like I just said it's such a very very very bad precedent you don't think the Republicans won't be looking for their pay back yeah I'd like to think that Republicans wouldn't act in the same manner as the Democrats if the shoe were on the other foot and I do think they would at least be fair but that's kind of naive isn't it I mean the Democrats threw down the gauntlet and the Republicans some day are gonna want pay back and that's not good yeah we just opened up a real Pandora's box your people well this week professor Alan Dershowitz said it best he really did in an op ed piece he wrote this and I'm just going to close on this what Alan Dershowitz says said this week okay professor Dershowitz wrote quote that danger is now coming to pass he was talking about a political impeachment that danger is now coming to pass as house Democrats she for the first time in American history to impeach a president without having at least some bipartisan support me Cronk Congress nor can they find any support in the words of the constitution or in the history of its adoption a majority of the house is simply making it up as they go along in the process thus placing themselves not only above the law but above the constitution close quote well said to professor Dershowitz anyway that's what I think as always I want to know what you think seven four nine seven thousand are the numbers one eight hundred the big one is the other number I want to hear from you Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "To west that he's good to go in at this point he's gonna start I think it remains to be seen how effective he's going to be Tampa scores a lot of points used he's going to have to score a lot of points that means throwing the football it and I I think everybody's going to be watching this early in the game it looks cool said this week he wants this to be honest with him and if he comes to the sidelines after a series of the shoulder doesn't feel like you need to be telling me that it's not a hundred percent they went with Ben Bryant last week was a young kid who showed some signs of being able to move this team but I I think that could be the central issue today what they get out of it there's return you mentioned the polls and it it's major here there is still an opportunity depending on if you see winds today and what couple other teams do you see could be could be in line to play in the Cotton Bowl which would obviously be huge what are the leads me to use the court absolutely I think they're gonna be a lot of people in this town today flipping their remotes back and forth the the crosstown she added five this game is at three thirty just a big sports weekend event tonight at eight Ohio state plays for the PS shipping shipping earlier in the day there's the big twelve championship but there's the ACC of their the athlete the unit and then after it's all said and done we'll get that the final four for the playoffs a lot no question fun times latte at those Buckeyes look like a machine they look like Alabama look two and three years ago I don't know if anybody can stop him yeah they are I I don't think there's any argument of the most complete team offense defense the in the country because of their special teams like there's a chance by next weekend for the the Heisman there's going to be to be three Buckeye's finished in the top ten in the hive holding up for the first time it happened prior to the nineteen seventy three they are they are locked and loaded this year yeah that's going to be fun to watch that one to you tonight Hey last question the Cincinnati Bengals I think they actually looked like an NFL team last week Andy Dalton I think look great tomorrow they got their first game round one with the Cleveland Browns how do you see this game plan out lance my guy I think they've got a change even though they're on the road I I think what helps them is the destruction of the Cleveland Browns right now at kind of a circus up there they got a group for a coach and pretty kitchens who is probably going to be one and done and I I don't think you go to that team next season it's been a major disappointment for the browser we're kind of at a school early team this year they they have beaten teams like the ravens and they beat the bills yet five and seven and you pointed out what Andy Dalton did to this team they they look like a a different team being able to throw the ball the defense is really good they they don't they didn't look like a one in eleven team last week that the great concern is Mike and I understand that some bands now that I think can be excited if they were to see a winner thinking women don't win too much once report so it's kind of a weird dynamic devotional yep how much bigger with one another football team right now you're absolutely right about that it really is a weird dynamic and I don't think the bangles or anything for that matter would obviously want to tank something but I don't know I guess it plays into the strategy lance as always we appreciate you taking the time the Saturday morning to talk to us like every weekend okay thank you all right lance McAllister talking sports I tell you what a heck of a day to day for the university of Cincinnati the game against Memphis the football game ma'am the crosstown shoot out so no reason to do anything other than watch and listen to sports this weekend Hey we got to take a break but we'll be back Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "To its inevitable conclusion and president trump will become only the third president in our nation's history to be impeached and for what in the meantime they can country will continue to be paralyzed and polarized and nothing will get accomplished and believe me people there are plenty of things that need to be dealt with like the budget like the opioid crisis like immigration reform like infrastructure like healthcare and education but no matter the president be impeached and waste even more time and resources with the trial in the Senate and when the circus moves to the Senate is really going to be interesting to see how the senators who are running for president actually handle this there's eight up and if they're true to their owes that they talk they're gonna have to get off the campaign trail and sit through each and every minute of the Senate trial they have to do that if they're going to stay true to their there the jurors in this trial and I've never seen a trial yet the judge let the jurors take a couple days off to attend the personal and political matters it can't happen they got to be there and anyway for the centers already have made up their minds about impeachment so it's a foregone conclusion for them so there's your unbiased jury well thankfully they will be out numbered these Democrats by the Republicans in the Senate and there will be no conviction in the Senate and not listen any keep this in mind not one Republican voted to authorize impeachment hearings and I believe that one Republican unless we hear something else in this impeachment proceeding in the house not one will vote to impeach president trop not the same way in president Clinton's print out the same way in the next in case which ultimately did not go to the Senate he resigned so the president will not be convicted because not one Republican senator will vote to convict him and that's kind of the situation that we find ourselves in the impeachment of Bill Clinton back in nineteen ninety eight was a disaster for the Republican Party and this impeachment of Donald Trump which is gonna happen no conviction but there will be an impeachment is going to be the biggest disaster for the Democratic Party in the year twenty twenty anyway that's what I think I wanna know what you think seven four nine seven thousand one eight hundred big what are the numbers Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "L. W. Mike Allen Saturday midday we're talking about the continued. demonization of Brett Kavanaugh a year after he was confirmed. to the United States Supreme Court here's a couple other things that again you're not gonna find this in the mainstream media. at this at the end of the book that these two New York times reporters wrote. they do acknowledge that. they're in a bit that Christine blouse it Christine blase forge a lifelong friend you might remember the name label and Kaiser. did not believe Christine blase forge tale of a sexual assault at a party they both supposedly attended now that was in contradiction to what was said at the hearing and for the first time. Kaiser spoke out for the record and you might recall again because it was named by Ford as a witness and of course she was one of four witnesses who denied any knowledge of the event in question and here's what ms Kaiser said on the record quote I was told behind the scenes that certain things we could be spread about me if I didn't comply. certain things could be spread about me if I didn't comply so I mean you couple that with everything else and again at the end of the day it all comes down to the beloved roe versus Wade. and there was another book written about this that I read it's fantastic book it's called justice on trial Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino wrote that it they report not the book but in a previous article forge father Christine blase porch father actually backed Kavanaugh's nomination and what they write is within days of Kavanaugh's confirmation of the Supreme Court a fascinating encounter took place Brett Kavanaugh is father was approached by Ford's father at the golf club where they are both members. Ralph blase Christine blase Ford's father went out of his way to offer ed Cavanaugh Brett Kavanaugh is dead support for his nomination to the Supreme Court and that's according to multiple sources and multiple people who actually heard this conversation take place at the burning tree club in Bethesda Maryland and. his father Brett kennels fathers quoted as saying I'm glad Brett was good now I'm sorry Christine blase ports father said I'm glad Brett was confirmed Ralph blase told ed cabin all shaking his hand and blase ended that the ordeal of been tough for both families you know I have you read about that anywhere in the mainstream media so much of this stuff if it doesn't fit in their narrative. they won't reported or if you like the New York times you just make it up I'm going to the phones here let me go to Emma good morning Emma. morning thanks for taking my call. I listen intently to your description of the knife delegation and I can tell you why in the fall okay. because I don't know any guy drunk enough that with another guy. in a woman's hand. you cut right to the chase their Emma but well you certainly have a point I mean you really do and that's kind of what I thought when I read it too but it's similar to the the basis allegation that was made by Deborah Ramirez that of course nobody can back up it's just one thing after another with this when are they gonna let the guy go. well this is just me a lot it doesn't make sense none of it makes sense and I I think we're just being held captive by the liberal media and you have people have to start thinking for themselves and reading both sides and. you know. I I read a lot and. I think I'm an independent but I do look at both sides and I think I don't know how these people live with themselves you know all of the thing I don't either I really don't Emma but would you agree at the end of the day at least ninety five percent of it all comes down to. their beloved roe versus Wade and they're going to discredit Brett Kavanaugh even when he is on the United States Supreme Court any way that they can in an attempt to intimidate him and some of the other right leaning justices do you think there's anything to that Emma. well I I feel like he did a great job defending himself I don't think that I mean he's he's on the court I don't think that he. in the case yeah intimidated at all. no I don't think so either night they tried to do that the Clarence Thomas back when he was confirmed he still getting all kinds of grief for that but I don't think you you're not going to intimidate Clarence Thomas and I don't think you can intimidate Brett Kavanaugh I sure appreciate that call was a good call and she does make a good point. if you listen to the lurid allegations on this later one yeah it is kind of hard to imagine I've got high witness hand on you know what in doing that and frankly I didn't even think about that but she makes a very very good point and again it's all about roe versus Wade the left is so worried that there could be a fifth vote to finally overturn it that they'll do anything anything to assassinate the character of a judge that they think may vote to repeal it. at any rate we're gonna go back to the callers after we get back from the news a lot of people interested in this topic Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "The day I think he I don't think he's doubling down and there's a lot of Republicans and certainly a lot of Democrats who want him to call it call it a career pretty much everyone except for speech abit and yet and you know Mike that there's been a lot of rumors throughout several years really dedicated to the perceived and people said it again retires in a resigned and it seems he's either got a guy who's not super close to a lot of people and he keeps is cards close to the chat yeah he's a guy who it seems that the more people talk about that the more he takes it as a badge of honor and and doubles down and wants to stay in office so. right now you don't mind I think he certainly riding on the fact that his last name is shadow but not strong they might be in the fact that he is operating in the first congressional district in as long as the entire county of war Warren County is in that you've got a very good chance of hang on that seek to Jerry Mander district yeah. a lot he he still won by four four points last year but. certainly there are Republican salivating at the gym and I wanted to ask you about we got about a minute left here Jay yeah who who are the names that you are hearing that are jockeying for that seat whether it's twenty twenty or after. absolutely and then I think well documented disappointed W. O. W.'s on rocky point has had his eye on that see this doctor. then talked to donors and try to develop relationships you need a former green township trustee Andy Murray he ended by rocky also lives in that district. check out the woman who did not live in the district but again there's no walls so you just have to live in the state she lives in not work out she certainly has a Ronald as well I've also heard that a former state senator Shannon Jones out of us spring borough is currently Warren County commissioners. someone who is potentially interested in certainly I think there are people in the party who were interested in her take a look at those are those are three they keep coming up in our I think we're all be pretty strong candidates yeah I agree I agree I wish we had more time J. since fork short show today on that I get it okay great I will be back on again hi Jason thanks again thanks bye okay to Jason Williams from politics extra the Cincinnati Enquirer Hey we got to get out here for the news and the you see coverage by again great to be back I'll be back next Saturday Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W. "Those abused by priests than dam is a survivor himself Hey you've been keeping an eye on this situation the situation father drew obviously and as you would expect that the key of some pretty strong feelings on the matter after the indictment of father drew snap put out a statement that said in part we know that the archdiocese of Cincinnati had been warned about father drew for at least six years without taking action to keep him away from children so we hope they're not others out there who are suffering in silence statement goes on to say we call on arch bishop tensioner to personally visit every parish where father drew worked or attended in bag others who have the information to come forward to police and prosecutors now it we're gonna talk Dan front door for right now and get his take on the situation Dan welcome to Saturday midday appreciate you calling him good morning Mike how are you I'm fine Sir let me ask you the first question here and this is one that I am really interested in your answer are you surprised by this day Dan I mean is this something that you would thought might happen down the road because I've made the point and obviously I'm wrong that I thought the archdiocese had gotten their act together are you surprised by this the answer to that Mike is is yes and no the it's it's no because the problem had been was so widespread you know coming into the the nineties and even early in the decade and then it then it was a dress in fact it was even addressed by law enforcement first and foremost here in Cincinnati your office but then we've seen other jurisdictions prosecute we've seen it happen and bishop solution it happened and are not not televisions with those of covered up Philadelphia and in the city so so we always there there is a possibility that there were a lot of survivors out there who still flying under the radar and hadn't decided that to get help and say anything so on on that and I'm I'm not surprised but I I I I think I'm like a lot of other people in in the town here who really thought that while we have a long period there where there was very few very few stories in the news about the hype the thing and it seem like I was more than willing to give the they are cited the benefit of the doubt and and honestly I'm I caught a little help from within my own circles for giving them credit there's a lot of animus towards the the Catholic Church but you know this this murder training that they make people go through right finger pointing this the background check I mean all of those are action but they've never undertook on their own they undertook them because of people like the survivors that I'm affiliated with in law enforcement agencies like you were affiliated with really force the church to change their behavior and I'm thinking okay maybe these things are are working so to that extent I would I was I was a little surprised that we we seen such a horrific case number before but now I'm I'm kind of back to think in with the recent demonstrated behavior of the archdiocese that maybe we're going to see some more this and I I hope we don't but but that's how I feel about it obviously day and I feel the same way day in front or I hope that's not the case but I think you and I both know that how this usually works is that when one person is brave enough to come forward a lot of times you'll see others follow suit yeah and and I I wanted I wanted to take the opportunity if I can I've I've done a lot of media this week and and I'm I want the people out there listening to the bed one to understand this it might my job with and snap it isn't just the talk to the media there's that's the tip of the iceberg the thing that I do the most of that we do the most and snap that we talked to other survivors and and and this is the stuff that never get any press coverage and they can't because that have to happen and with confidentiality so survivors are competent enough to tell another survivor their story because it's very therapeutic you can make an interview the survivors all around the country and they'll say yeah it's one thing to tell a therapist or a counselor or even the detective but it's another thing to tell your story to somebody who knows and shares that hearing it's it's it's very therapeutic and it was for me and for me I really never went any formal counseling or therapy my therapy was talking the other survivors and and and and letting them tell me their story for therapeutic for me so that's that's really what yeah more about than the advocacy work that you see on the newspaper but I also want to say that I'm I'm not here to bash the Catholic Church among when I'm snapping me personally we're not anti Catholic anti child sex abuse absolutely I think everybody should agree with that and and I want to reiterate something that you said you made a wonderful plan then you act during the break I believe you took the time to do the research yes when you came up with that ninety five percent number ninety five percent of pretty I've never been accused of anything like this and and I've had a lot of wonderful support from pre that I had in high school didn't last me that I've encountered since that time I you know I've had I've enjoyed the support of a lot of my Catholic friends who understand and I don't I don't do little anybody for staying in the Catholic Church because the the way somebody connect with their higher power should never be ridiculed that's it and if it is if you decide that you have to do that within the Catholic Church that's perfectly fine but I also agree with Gerard did it it's really gonna be and you it's going to be up to the the the people in the pews to make a difference but I'm like Gerard I'm I'm I'm afraid that they just don't have enough power to be able to to do that yeah yeah and let me follow up on that point I'm glad you brought it up I think what I hear you saying damn front door is that there is no way that the archdiocese is going to permit this oversight by the lady which I think this latest situation with father drew I think proves that that's what they need is some billion if you will mom not clear call oversight do you see any chance of that happening I think I don't know the answer is I I said Lee I don't because I've I've been calling for that within the church for years and I I I'm I have to say you you may see this tomorrow on television tomorrow morning but the backside these they have a spokesperson there's some do do it an interview yesterday with WCPO in and you'll see the the full interview I think in the tomorrow morning okay and and at the end of the interview the the interviewer gives the spokes person the opportunity to leave the viewers with one final comment what you know what what what do you say to these people and and and her comment was to me it was so offensive he said he said well I think we all need to go to mass more and more and that answer is they can't answer back for years that ain't trying to make the people in the key thing oh okay the the the answer is out of this world is real it is an existing have and it exists with with an unknown unseen deity that person and we have to appeal of that entity that god to provide the answer yeah and Dan I got to take a break can you hold on to the break as I do that back up with you okay yeah let me out let me take care of this and we'll be right back with you Hey we got to take a break but we'll be back Mike Allen newsradio seven hundred W.
