It looked like he was GonNa Win Raisin so it's just come flying. He just looked he. He's very impressive. Listen so far. We've I think we've had some really. Really classy looking two year olds. The. Hopeful was dynamite dynamite performance I mean that towards it's a serious source. That's a very serious horse. You know the thing is you know he he he does have. "Exactly. So it's So it's about the Mary Lou Whitney Auction Jon Hendricks and He He created this came up with the idea of auction off. A lot of Mary Louise belongings and I got an email about it kinda skipped it and then I got the other one and. Look. I decided I'd register my credit card just in case I thought well, I'd like Joseph Loyalty moves by something because all the proceeds go to the backstretch workers go to hospital Saratoga which obviously. Is the most important and? Brilliant calls and noble costs. So man I started going down the rabbit hole me man I I, was long way down the rabbit hole looking at ballgowns and vintage gloves and hats and scarves, and it was it's pretty entertaining and I've actually I woke up this morning I got a couple of things that I've been outbid. He does a lot of our design about she She texts me same things keep getting outbid, and so we were laughing it's but it's amazing collection they go back and look at all our stuff and I I I I would. Ask anybody to take a look 'cause it's pretty It's pretty cool. Yeah. I loved your conversation with your wife Anne to when you described it in detail and quoted exactly what you said to her which she said you when she walked into the room and you're trying to keep it a secret from her didn't quite worked at it. Now. I think I've actually came up with a new tax because I you know like every man, you're trying to buy something or girlfriend or sister mother whatever you're always trying to buy something. You know sentimental or something different or something you know like original and usually I hate to say but I usually get it from. Go by these things that don't work, and so I think Andy and I came up with a new tax. So miles is playing baseball tonight and my son, our son and I think after game I'm GonNa have Annie Mabel open a bottle of wine and get on the Mary Lou Whitney Fox. Something jumps out her letter Leonard do a little shop and Like I said, my credit cards registered. So maybe she can go on there and find something. That appeals to her rather me guessing because you know a lot of times you get that wrong? Brother. I don't know about that idea me wine an open credit card. You. Might. WanNa think twice about that you think about the morning we're saving through the pandemic. I haven't gone on vacation. Don't drive the car and you know why not? Money somehow good call. You know. Michelle's listen and she's probably on their you know tagging things right now favorites. Glitzy Michelle. This Day is just so special at the SPA. It's an unbelievable unbelievable the. Menu stakes just best You know everybody that Allen Jerkins is just a moment to think about our great friend, their mentor hero. Personal ends in which she did. You think you. "At the Kentucky Derby if secretary moving away that light at the preakness and most dramatically at the Belmont men secretary at one the Belmont by an astonishing thirty one lengths and became the first triple Crown winner in twenty five years. His World Record. Time of two twenty four for a one and a half mile race will almost certainly never be broken. Row Throw witnessed at all from the grandstand. The day. He won the Belmont. They could've brought man award run against him. It wouldn't have mattered. No horse that ever looked through a bridal was going to defeat him on that day. That day was his crowning achievement of an already great career. So it would have been crazy for jerks to even consider running onion against secretary at Saratoga. Right Churkin's new onion was in top form. And while most people who'd off over Secretariat Allen Jerkins look for a weakness in a few days before the Whitney Handicap. He watched secretariat workout. Here's Jimmy he was on his white stable pony and he just happened to be out there because the set of his horses was out there and secretariat work the half a mile and he thought it was very dismal. Workforce Secretary used to work very fast when he ran fast then when he trained he trained very fast also but this particular time he was very sluggish. Churkin's had also heard rumors that secretary..

"That not only. Are we looking at potential derby horses but trying to evaluate the merits of horses Who are also rans in the race in terms of You know do they. Belong at this level are the horses that might improve going towards derby or they horses. You might eat different spot like the Horse. You just brought up for instance attachment rate. I I really think he's just a better horse around one turn And I think that's GonNa be proven out over his career. He kind of will loom up and hang a little bit when he goes to turn but he finishes his seventy eighth and one turn mile races off the a lot better and I think that that's GonNa be his his comfort zone for for the bulk of his career. I don't I can't blame anybody at this stage of the game for continuing to try with You know to make the Derby with a three year old but said that horse specifically Was One that I wrote about in my recap that I just really think. He's a better horse around one. Turn and interested in seeing if if they do try them another to churn rates than the any performs like. I think he will if they decide. Maybe to look at something like hypothetically Allen Jerkins during the summer at Saratoga which is a great one seventy race which I think for that horse is is GonNa be a better chance for him to get a grade one than than trying To Churn rates. He's an intriguing horse. I don't know if they're gonNa do it to me. He'd be an intriguing horse in the Belmont. I don't know that he's I don't use. I don't think he's as good as the wall and they doll but I think that kind of configuration as a better chance for him to win a mile and an eighth then if he were run. You know. Say The you know the bluegrass stakes on that topic. Actually of shortening up some consideration We're hearing to that The Charlotte and actually may end up in the woody Stevens. That that's a that's a spot that we'll see we'll see how all the rest of this of course shakes out but You know given given the the sort of mumblings about distance limitations Be Interested to see what happens on that front as.

"And they showed the The Marlborough on the TV monitors in the back by you know by the pond. And WHO's watching it there but Allen Jerkins and Jack Dreyfuss watching the race so I'm standing. I'm standing next to them watching it and I remember after after the race was over if secretary at one Allen Jerkins turn Tend to Jack Drive. Says what the hell are we doing in this race? Any which is very typical for valid Jerkins and then he goes out and you know track detractors off and you know secretaries league and and prove out takes back off the lead. It sits off from the court approaches. Goes right by him on the inside. And he grew up in wins by four and a half lengths and people realize by the way that at Allen Jerkins not run prove out in that race invasive. What a bad race secretary ran coming back two weeks off a world record okay. Prove out. It's not in the race. Secretary wins the race by eleven lengths and runs the second fastest mile and a half in history Belmont. Secondly to himself he finished he finished. Eleven links had cougar so upbeat who to hall of. Fame two hall of famers in that race and he ran the mile and a half to twenty five from four. That was the second fastest mile and a half. The secretary so secretary would have won that race by eleven lengths in the second fastest mile half and it would have been like. Oh secretaries just like the Great. Just to be the greatest. So what did they do because originally secretary was supposed to run in the war so they run them in this race. Fifty gets beat. What our Solution Lauren. Do you put them in a man of war. Anyway which was like I. We look a week or ten days. Later and secretary breaks of course record going a mile and a half there. So which sets a world record amounts thirty runs the Woodward stakes they run into Woodward's stakes and ran second in the second fastest mile and a half in history of Belmont and then he sets a course record going a mile and a half into man of war stakes in the span of twenty three days. I mean people always look at secretary you know in his career crown but I mean improve out went on and ran in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Jerkins work work them a full mile and a half and then and then blew them out in a race by giving them a a two mile. Two Minute Lick at the end of which he worked half a mile and forty seven or so and then he goes to miles runs. We've reached into the ground running some of the fastest fractions in the history of the two Mile Gold Cup. Was You know I mean fractions? Were like two three seconds. Faster than in Kelso's record so what does prove out do is that.

"Seven furlong so I loved those to turn back and distance with those top three I. I'm fully confident. They'll continue to progress On on the Road Kentucky Derby everyone else behind them It's a combination of spiritual going along or forces starkness lovely. I put the COP happened this race. I'm really home all right. So that used to to to wrap up the two stakes are. I do want to put it in one more point on base in a horse that you know Eric mentioned was a grade. One winner last year the great one hopeful. It is worth mentioning that over the past couple of years or over the past few years. I should say that racist produced a couple of really nice horses that you know. When they were given the opportunity to go one turn they exceeded performed really well Practical joke who was running into that. One hopeful in two thousand sixteen was running in two thousand seventeen. You remember was a winner of Dwyer and the Allen Jerkins Nell Jerkins obviously great one race. Seven furlongs really nice race for practical joke and In two thousand eighteen or the two thousand eighteen winter the hopeful mind. Control is at least in the opinion of us on this. Show it one of if not the top sprinter in the country. Right now. With Shan slopping on the shelf for the considerable future given the situation he was in prior to the beginning of this year but that race has been able to produce forces that can run very well on one turn and I definitely see base in being one of those verses that can be added to the debt category moving onto this weekend. I'll let Eric introduced the break. Even at the top of the show. I'll let Eric injuries the allowance race at break even is running in this week and then we'll get into talking about the count fleet and the grade one apple blossom in a in a couple of minutes. Excuse me this goes as race nine in between the council leads for an end. The APP Wassim which we'll touch on in a second but this raised you could almost you as as a grade. Three race listed states that kind of level that kind of talented showing up and highlighted obviously by breaking horseshoe last year seemed like probably one of the better basically was like A lower a lesser version of confetti in a way Running in a lot easier steaks and then ultimately running second in the prior S. Which was kind of the end of her. Enter for year last year in a race that in prior. Snl going back. They've where probably one but was was easy by Royal Charlotte went way too fast on the front end when she really didn't need to solve a big way off your second last not through six last hour in the spring fever In League February of find a strong group for sure in a nice annecy eighties challenge but He's a horse that you know. She needed the race. You can get the lead which usually needs to be as competitive running her best level So there's a lot of factors that make you just kinda wondered whether or not You know.

"Moved the travelers back back which they should. Then you're also GonNa have before that The the mile and have Vilma classic distance racing this year stacked one after the other. Yeah which Add the fact that it's going to. It's going to the fact that you're pushing all of the sophomores into the second half of the year to essentially do it. We'll see how it We'll see how it shakes out long-term too because There's already been suggestion that you know. This could have a positive effect on horses. Come back as as four year olds as well so You also the other thing that that I think will happen. I saw the comments from John. Service about mischievous Alex said he was going to sit down with which chucks acne and make some decisions but that they don't feel obligated necessarily now to you know to stretch him out to the mile and the eighth right now that they might be more inclined to keep him at the one turn configurations and and focus on the bay shores and the woody Stevens is and and that kind of event in a leading toward you know maybe the Amsterdam and and the Allen Jerkins and so some horses might be routed toward what they were most inclined for anyway. I mean it'll definitely shake up the.

"Yeah I agree I actually did this race for daily racing form. There's a preview of it out on the D. R.. RF TD webpage so. Take a look if you get a chance out there but I I'm with you. I came back. There's a Lotta Piece in this race predicted by the peace projector I totally totally agree with it. And that kind of made me against a couple of the the horses. We're GONNA take money in here to sixty I think is a horse at absolutely has to have the lead. She wiltz Wiltz anytime. She doesn't get it and I don't see any way that's going to happen here. So she's got one. That's GonNa take money that I don't like and then we. The clouds draws the inside which which I heat for especially for a second time starter at the seven furlong distance i. She doesn't have a whole lot of experience. There's going to be a quick base. So she's another one. I'm kind of tossing him with that. I wound up landing on the the two horses or the Horse. You mentioned Swisscom Skydiver and also her stablemate. I think both of them have A pretty good shot in here stablemate by the way powis Miss I. She doesn't have quite have the speed. Figures of Swiss skydiver is just a little bit below. But she's is also turning back and this is one of those. I'll give a shameless plug of the updated. Diarra formulator where. It's just so much easier for me. I in so much more useful to pull up the trainer stats and looked up. Ken mcpeek and he really is good at turn back. His winning percentage is only a little better than the norm for him but the Roi goes through the roof so he knows what he's doing here. It's actually a profitable angle for him. So between the two. I think one of them will definitely win. I'm assuming since they have different writers named they're both GONNA run The reason I cited a little bit towards Palace Malice Palace Miss is just because of the value you. She's fifteen to one on the morning compared to Swiss skydiver. But I don't have any problem with either one of them I think they're both in sitting in a really good spot. Yeah I have no problem with Swiss skydiver to me. She's the horse to beat the mile just seemed like it got to her last time they were a little probably prematurely aggressive. Moving up to take the lead. By the time they got to the quarter pole in the slop Churchill downs that day and it just kind of took its toll late but I thought she ran exceptionally well for the first seven furlongs of that race and this race is seven furlongs things as far as the rest of the field that goes though I saw this race a little differently. Maybe the pace is going to be really fast. It's hard for me to gauge it because all of these horses are so inexperienced Korea. You don't know exactly how they're going to ride them compared to how they did first time out it might he'd he'd up on the front end. I really like the one of the recent debut winners and that is the number one. We the clouds. Maybe the rail posed won't be ideal for her but I thought she showed a lot of professionalism. I hang out at keeneland. She broke on top. They sort of reigned reigned her in and seemed like they almost intended to give her an education because Gabriel's is placed in behind horses. Come from the far turn forced her to alter course to the outside once once he got her into the clear I really loved the way she kicked for home that day. They came home really fast. A she's the kind of race that's never going to get really high time formula speed figure because the early pace this was slow but she's not an either lead type so I don't care about that too much. She really finish strongly that day. And speaking of the near formulator I was looking up some stats in there. For her trainer Timothy Ham off debut wins with horses coming back that one first time out in their second career starts over the past five years. He's nine for nineteen with with a forty seven percent win rate an R. Y.. That's well over two dollars and if you narrow that down to just debut winners making their second starts on the dirt he seven for eleven with an Roi over three dollars so he just has an exceptional record winning with horses. That won their debuts. So I would expect we the clouds the take step forward and hope. Hopefully she works out the right trip. I do want to mention one other horse in here. Nets for Ruka I. It's that this horse. Who debuted teachers one? Oh seven time form. USB figure on the turf. I out then. She came in Burger Maiden with ninety. Seven I don't particularly Laker in this spot of the resigned. When I mentioned I think that one oh seven even though I'm the guy that that made it is pretty suspect it's race I'm going to go back and review the runback? Sam been terrible from it but nobody's quite lived up the what they ran that day. So I'm GonNa look the specifics of that race and see if maybe I've made a mistake there. It's a good no and she's a horse that anyway regardless of the speed figure is going to get that off a good turf race because because I think like you were alluding to. I didn't love her dirt maiden win either and to me. She's not exactly competitive off that race. Let's finish things up by talking to raise. Is it acqueduct one from Saturday and one from Sunday. The higher class one is obviously the Saturday feature the Toboggan agreed. Three event going seven. furlongs in this race does feature. Last year's grade one H Allen Jerkins mind control who also won the two thousand eighteen hopeful another great one going seven furlong distance mind. mind-control has now raised that triumph last August or he beat the heavy favorite shots a lot. He definitely loves the distance though. He's the class of this field he. I almost forgot how fast he had some of those stakes races last year. Especially the bay shore where he got an impressive time formulas figure. He's a really nice horse and I admire him. I just don't love taking horses at short prices off layoffs. Like this especially when. You're not sure this is really a target for him. He's probably prepping towards towards the Carter. I would think so I would imagine. He's not fully cranked. I could be wrong but I don't mind being wrong at your prices. I'd much rather be wrong. You know at a Fifteen door be right at long price them wrong at a short price This is a race to pace for director. Thinks is going to favor horses owner near the lead. There's not a whole data speed. I'm personally usually a little cautious with that. At seven. furlongs because seven furlongs. It's just tougher to wire than shorter. Sprints I've a stats Barrett out the longer longer the race goes the harder it is the what's a wire the field Especially when you're talking about the same number turns so while I do that a little weight I don't put everything into it. I don't love anybody in here. There's some good horses T- gloves a fight is coming back. I guess it was just the week ago. Right we just talked about it was seventy s right so But I'm not a big Fan of that horse. The one horse who might catch my eye depending on what he goes off at his still having fun. He's a horse. Who was pretty good early in the year on the woody Stevens as a three year old and he just kind of really tailed off? After that they kept running them kept running them. He didn't do much at all and then he finally was given a layoff. He came back as a first time. Gelding he showed up at zero against that tough group of sprinters we. We've talked about several times. Both the peace is gas in the forecast in race. One by Lewis Field where he said a fairly slow pace with all the fractions coated in blue he really was running late home and a and nearly got the Louis fuel late so I was really impressed by him. I I'm off that layoff in any kind of improvement here and if he gets any kind of peace to run into I think he's as a horse who has a real shot he's going to be a price in this race and I'm not GonNa Knock you off or talk you off a price. They'd he wasn't a horse that I loved in this field but I agree with your assessment testimony last brace. He did run well within the context of that race given the flow. So how bad it with him. Because I think he's going to be every bit of that ten or twelve one. I landed on American anthem here as the alternative to mind control as the morning line maker. I would like to. Maybe maybe take back my line a little bit because I feel like everybody likes this horse that he might even be favored in this race over mind control. There's a lot to like about American anthem. You mentioned the pay's projector objector. There's not a lot of speed in this field and given the inside post position. I would imagine that manny. Franco's going to be pretty aggressive with them because he has done well from the front end in the past so it seems like he's going to work out a decent trip. I think the real question with American anthem is do you. Trust him to get back to the form that he showed for Bob Baffert. He did disappoint in his only. Only start for Rudolph percent last time keeneland. And maybe you could say he's just not going to be the same horse since coming out of Bob Baffert Barn about that Keelung race though. I will say he didn't get an ideal trip that day. He was just shuffled back in the early going. Too Far back down. The backstretch got sent down to the rail and in the straight away. Hey which I think was really where you want to be. All things considered. He just barely missed second. I don't think the race is quite as bad as it looks on paper and his prior form just is going to make can really tough in here because he's really the only horse in this field that has a string of speed figures that make faster faster than mind control and now he's in Danny Gardens Barna Dante Guardian Is the kind of trainer that can work miracles at times so hoping he gets back into form. Yeah no problem with that. I was pretty sure you wouldn't be able to resist the Danny Goggin Argon Angle. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's certainly can pay dividends many times. Yeah and the other is I just think it depends on the trip and even the horse or as you mentioned still having fun. It's going to depend on how the pace shapes up. I mentioned that you for horse like Nicodemus who certainly at the talent to be competitive in this race and potentially even win it. It just depends on if these clothes are going to get enough pace to close into in here. Let's close things out by briefly talking about the ladies handicap on Sunday at acqueduct. It's the seventh race on their card test of stamina for fillies and Mares as they go the demanding nine for long distance over the act in track and I think we're going to have a pretty heavy favored in this race in the number seven Valera. She's just been improving with almost every start She didn't get the participate to back in the turn. Back the alarm when she lost lost the rider coming out of the gate but in the five races that she's competed she's never finished out of the exact She's coming off her career best effort when she won the calmly last time over the very promising aretha. She's just the horse to be. I cheat his but I'm actually going to take a shot against her. I wish I could say with you because I I think it's a after her. It's a fairly deep field and a few of them caught my eye. I felt lucky. Move ran pretty well last time out. She's going to need to take a step forward award for sure We don't know much about entropy. Ah The one thing I can say for. Her is when she was in Argentina. Her best racist seemed to come on dirt is that she didn't run very well on her couple tries on turf so her debut here wasn't a disgrace. When you consider that I so she wouldn't shock me but the horse sets most interesting to me is another broad? I think you can just put a line right through her last race. It was one of those bad kickback. These she was in the back of the pack pack. She swung wide. It was at spice perfection race where she just absolutely crawled on the front end running fractions that almost any horse gorsuch training could have kept up with for a while so I really don't think she had much shot. I mean I would have liked to seen her clothes a little bit better but I I'm willing to ignore that when and if you get past that one her speed figures are every bit as good as what Boiro has been running and you know I expect more of that kind of performance from her yeah. She's a difficult cold. Call for me in some ways. I like her a little bit more from a value standpoint than her stablemate Blair because she did earn that speed figure to back in the turn. Back the alarm alarm that I think would even make Blair hard-pressed to beat her. I don't know what to make of that. Turn back the alarm as a handicapper..

"That was an interesting race over the weekend way then. It'll thinks that up with the vanderbilt yet. It's not what I expected to happen. Yeah I mean but now what do they do whereas Matola go the winter's. GonNa wait for Bomani every too quick for him to start off the way up to buy. What's Matola. Do that's a big question. I mean he's GonNa rebound. You know come back somewhere baked but did they wait on them. How's the foregoing ended up shaping up. Why and what are you. Are you looking for the forego or or go yeah. We're GONNA forego my because I know that <hes> I know that it would be too good about an opportunity for you know for for Robert and <hes> for Byron and everybody and to win at home that would be huge. Well Yeah we're. GonNa stay right there and its commission. She of it sets up. A division shifts around so there's a lot there's a lot of moving parts to this and not the least of which is the three year old. What did what did you make of <hes> Shane. The chance a lot yesterday the spectacular performance now sure he'll go back and Allen Jerkins next start with older horses but I mean he's fast well that the division of sprinters out there and that that it was clear it was clear even in the spring that the three year old sprinting division was going to take a nice shape but this the three division both sprinter take have taken great shape..

"A son of warfront and <hes> with the Seattle Slew Mare if angels saying that <hes> that name rings a bell with <hes> that was a rusty. Arnold that was a rusty Arnold <hes> campaigner and <hes> there's there's lots of like <hes> about Banda and he also Jack feels like one of those horses that will continue to develop as as he ages so <hes> chances chances are we'll. We'll see him not just a here's a four year old but into next year as well. You had a very nice nice afternoon actually at Arlington <hes> let's also before we talk about other things vexatious Seychas <hes> with a terrific effort in the modesty she was credited fairly that we're still trying to figure out as well because he'll send it to me in great shape and <hes> we want to do it too. We took her up to New York for the New York about Friday and get the best face to to to close into do went slow front and she was left at the whole she came with a usual. You know run at the end that oversee the the winner and the second place at the jump out said I felt what's digitally watch spending pepper and going into the bodice yet tat and I'd like to be much speed can jump out and try to have a fourth all over the place but I don't believe it too much to do let he wrote a perfectly <hes> at so hard being bad cuts wherever you go and I saw Brad taped up other later said we might be in trouble here but it was great to see you finish up while come out the rest of the chat <hes> and vexatious she'd be another one. She trained very well at the dirt you plus we could see her next start on the dirt at Saratoga you know I was GonNa ask you wha what <hes> seeing as how we talk so much about the surface switching and she she became a real favorite of mine during that three year old year and we talked a lot to Neil Drysdale <hes> about vexatious so here's another one she's a five year old mare and <hes> you know ultimately she also is beautifully bread and chill end up in the in the calcium at broodmare band so basically <hes> gilding her resume is the is the objective and a nice placement in the modesty behind Juli- Julia Foxtrot. We'll talk about her with Brad Cox in about a half an hour of also got to ask you about the boys the three year old boys race while we're doing this. I I went fishing for prices in here. I didn't come up with the right price but <hes> you know you were certainly you were certainly so you know one with Flying Scotsman and this was one of those races Jack when when I bring out the Allen Jerkins Line turf racing where one horse wins and six could have you know if you were flying. Scotsman was GONNA do Badri throughout the rest. I would have changed the equipment on them and say if I knew if I could predict walk probably would be sitting here so eh I would've taken Lincoln's off of he was too fresh going into that raising Cain at <hes> five knows it so well forbidding California I had had a couple of times that he he acts like an holes. It has a ton of helmet class. I'm talent and never once thought that offer layer said you know he'd been fresh would blink sort of sparked but that's what happened there. <hes> you know going to I f five even though they had him folded five hundred he took a keen hold on just could not get to take a deep rest and relax and <hes> you know he thought he was going to win it and he just at the police sort of flattened out a bit on and you know coming off layoff and right and so that he's <hes> entitled to get tired when she did <hes> but we'll get him back on the grass Breezy Marzuki man and play around equipment wise with him <hes> 'cause the way he ran that I didn't you know like we didn't go to relax so we might will definitely cut the blankets back. "To the letter 'em almost to the point that it was over concerned because i think he might only have maybe one horse be when he got to the straight home by a when he turned loose seat you know he had lots of horse the gift and a you know we learned a lot we learned that this is something we could certainly do if we want to end you know what's funny about it it is it it kind of hearkens back to all the things that that you saw from him on the main track during the spring where you everybody was convinced that he probably he doesn't want to go to too far but at the same time he was finishing those races with such interest enclosing so well that it it it it gave kind of mixed signals and to be honest i i think i think he's still got you know one of these weird horse scenarios where you say to yourself is he gonna be best as a closing sprinter india target something like the allen jerkins this summer a or is this are best scenario is he a turn milder maybe i mean what where's your where's your head as of right now days after the win as of right now i'm in i'm in the camp that believes the source can do more than what 'em you've seen so far i mean i got a real hard time with the fact that a horse closed like he did in the bluegrass and then somebody tells that he doesn't wanna go that far i mean i was the only one doing the running it dnd own attractive was very speed bias so i don't forget those things and i mean i got a very hard time with the fact that he couldn't be what he wanted to be so where we go from here i don't you know kenny do seven eighths absolute in my opinion i think you'll be fine with mahler amount and he says well if need be 'em i think it's a unraveling a situation in a will just see where he takes us 'em you know but people are slota you know earned the the the confidence in some of these sources sometimes you know they they get real hung up real quickly on what they don't think they can do and it's still pretty early in the game it's only a you know halfway through their three year old year there's a lot to be seen yet how is he how is he progressed physically and and through you know what was a a pretty full first half of the year and when you run in the derby and preakness a you know sometimes you don't know what you've got so the rest of the year and that was one of my concerns that's why i thought this would be a good time he's held his slash good is attitudes been good 'em you know and to have gone through to a tree a triple crown races and the comeback in this fashion and beat a solid field a fast time 'em i couldn't be happier would you are you gotta consider you basically sitting on until they allen jerkins and you know this is the rare you know grade one seven eighths opportunity that there's only this and the malibu at the end of the year a something that would would only you know further enhance him as a as a standing in prospect well you know there's there's certainly a a couple of considerations out there and that's obviously one of them there's also these big a new york races on the surfer for a lot of money so you know that was one of the reasons that we did this so we could see where we stood if in fact we wanna go that direction so 'em will see i trains in maybe all how to a give me a heads up and helped me disappearing in the right direction where where were you keep him.

"I could see a scenario where you could get more of will there you could get back in security there. And hopefully, maybe even country house who would be official Kentucky Derby winner. You know, he came out of the race sick, and he's getting that, you know, he's not started training it, but I think still not talked yesterday, and he's looking to get into the Jim dandy. So if you could get a store perfect scenario where you've got more of will maximum security and country house at the Travers, August twenty four million to five hours. Oga the biggest day of meat if that could happen. That would be a heck of a day, every all even raise you one, 'cause I talked to Gary dot who is, of course, Richmond son, trainer himself out during the west coast of Moore's analysts work, the horse hasn't recovered from the procedure that he had done as well as they hope they're going to have to keep them in Kentucky. Next ship them out to Kelly. But still there planets to go forward with them. And come back east at some point. Gary said if Saratoga is in the offing so be it if not maybe even Pennsylvania derby, planning to come back at some point as only a couple of weeks between those two races every training, well and recovering. Well, I would guess they try and go Saratoga ended up Pennsylvania derby, but then had him to that other top three that you mentioned. That's all of a sudden, I'm pretty big sports on, buddy. It'd be here. I heard that scenario with that were. So I wonder if this is, you know, I guess it depends on how much did lose fitness wise. And I like you said I did. Something that he was going to have to come, you know, say a little extra time in Kentucky, a wonder if and Saratoga if they showed up in the king's fish, the Allen jerkins at seven eight and then went to the pension any dirt, and then they're left try to your stuff plastic back at the same Neto. I wonder if that's all, you know, they get if they get going before handed it can get a start earlier than they can make the traverse. But I'm wondering if maybe with everything that's happened. Do they just start off with at Saratoga? On the same day. Heck of a day, like. All right. Allie, jerkins with Omaha beach, and then the other three we mentioned in the, you know, in the cloud in the in the Travers, that would be, you know what, how a heck of a good day up in northern New York last thing, just a field type thing, I truly appreciated, what Marquette did on Darby die, you and I had our conversation about, whether it shouldn't have been a d q in Lyon. People are digging their heels in on their believes twine and not everybody's gonna see. Guy. But I really liked the fact that marquess he told his jockey Tyler Gaffey own. I prefer you not to lob determinant objection because all it's going to do is move from eight to seven, and there's no purse difference. And he didn't want any part of being the reason why the Kentucky Derby winner got taken down. And I kind of agreed with him. And I like the stance that he took and compared to Matz. Jockey, Flavian, Pratt climbing, what he wasn't even involved, which I thought was a stretch. Was there a little good racing? Karma going marquesses way yesterday because he had handled it correctly on Kentucky, Derby day that the racing gods. Look down at a sunny. Baltimore track yesterday. Yeah. This guy should win. Well, my only thing about that. Jodi is objections are lodged on on the track. Horseback, it's not like you come back and talk to your trainer and then say you know what? Let's lodging objection. You know, I think we're already looking at the race you know, papaya on I guess been when they're looking at it for twenty two minutes. I guess you could say throw in the mix too I as pilot gasoline on for me. I would have claimed thou, especially in, in this era, of course, safety, and we can't allow this to happen. I understand, you know, he's my brother in arms here because we're both jockeys, we get we do the same thing. But this was a bit this around the time, where horse is the big issue and and race. Riding is a big issue to part of that. I would have played pal if I was saying, and if I was more cast, I wouldn't have done it. But I see where you're coming from. I think more Cassie was the benefits of just a really good trip smart training job. And really having a good horse that he wanted to. I would I wouldn't call it vindicate or or redemption. He just wanted to show up. He's like, you know what this, I think my horse is better than what we've given the chance to show the Kentucky Derby, I wanna give chance to show it if I'm wrong. I'll pack my bags and go home and we'll see in the summer if I'm right. I have a championship, and I can go onto the Belmont Stakes and he was right. And, and what I like about Mark, Kathy's. He runs the source. I think that it's five starts this year for this horse, not too many of these other horses that five starts, he'll have four campaign and I like that. And nothing. I think I'm gonna like about Marchesi. He's train on, Sir Winston, right? Yeah. And he was the most impressive for me coming out at a Peter Pan off died effort. I think he should get a chance and about much. Thanks, which means not only Willie run more will he'll run against war. Well, that's the kind of guy that they need in order tracing, who's out there to try and win with whatever fire whatever bullets God. And I think that Sir Winston is a horse. We're gonna have to take a look at three weeks from now. Dave great. Stop as always. You're the best, my friend. Thank you very much for coming on. And we will talk to three weeks since so good. The first kept Aboagye the first two shot swing. So the lead went from seven down to five just like that in Varner. Unfortunately, has gone backwards the last couple of hall's the birdied the first, but then he bogeyed the third. And he's in the woods and they're looking for his ball on the fourth right now. "The the more I've seen especially this year, the more. I don't wanna governing body. I really don't because some of the people that some of the people that have been suggested I now I want nothing to do with it. Let all all the tracks. Just just do their thing. That's one. Yeah. I again, you know, I think major league baseball. Look, nobody's going to be always going to get it. Right. It's unfortunate because with the technology we have and the and the different angles. We have look here at Aquidneck last week the fog that we had the one day and the Amana camera angles. They got to us and a lot of the restricts have these to get through that card and allow John embryos do us insatiable job describing the action. I think speaks volumes to how far we've come in the last twenty five years technology was okay. We have to utilize that technology. In better ways. Why kit was used here last week with four different camera angles. You know, I think it needs to be done. I all for what major league baseball doesn't just have people just have a crew of six or nine. You know? I mean, obviously with us you need to have that has to be an odd number because it's a it's a majority rules. I'll a lot of people don't know that. And you you will stay tuned listed a blood news update and just a little bit. Turf with FOX actually being a little proactive in this as far as the Stewart's go and you'll hear it in a few minutes. But you know, I have no problem with there being and would rather have just. Accrue somewhere that just. Cates. These decoys, and let's get some rules. Let's get some people that have been around this game whether they're stewards or or whatnot. You know? It's a shame. Because the chance for this. And to have some people that have seen it all kinda gone. You know, the chief Allen jerkins would have been somebody good to to to really get this done. Bobby Frankel would have been great. But you still have. I mean, you have guys out there like like Shukla gay. He you have guys out there like Dwayne Lucas. You know, you have you have retired writers guy like Gary Stevens. Now, you know, a guy like Pat Day who's written all over the world, and certainly all over this country. And you get everybody to sit down at a table. And let's let's back out some rules. Let's bang out. You know, some some fines and some punishments and. Yeah. You're gonna have to use a little opinion. That's what this game's about. But it has to be more consistent task system. Or would agree with the reality is regardless of what the decision is. You're gonna have people that are on both sides of the outcome. So you never gonna plumes everybody. I could stay as a better. If if you're consistent, I'm with you, even if it costs you the race if it's it's it's like in baseball. If I know the empire, it's gotta high strikes on it is what it is. I might not like it. But I can't have to calling the high stakes for Syndergaard and low strikes that yet I can't. So it's got to be consistent. And I think that's all I'm looking for. And I think most bettors would be looking for if you think that. Yeah. I agree and thanks for the call John. Yeah. That's all anybody. Who's looking for? Right. It's all we're looking for consistency. Consistence? That's it. That's all you looking for. You know? I don't know. You would think it would be, you know, an easier way for this. I feel like. I feel like things as far as Judy cues and objections inquiries. Has gotten worse when with all with all of the angles and. Technology that we have it should have gotten better. And it just hasn't. And it makes no sense. No sense back out of the phone lines. We go it's Tom and Delmar. Hey, tom. Welcome to the Brisbane dot com. Call in show happy new year..

"Let's start off with the q. on the disqualification. I just think it was a bad call. I don't see how they could determine that. It did not alter the outcome of the race. I don't think anybody or. Their brother could tell what the outcome was going to be looking at the sixteenth pole. I don't think anybody knows. That's why I was sort of on the side of looks like it's a, you know, their their head and head knows knows, and there's a bump. And then all of a sudden a late doesn't go along with it anymore. That's just my opinion not outraged by it. Here's the important in the interesting piece to note from Mott's quote, the follow up. This is filed by Dave. Grinding. I believe. In order for there to be another showdown between these two Mottes quote, they might have to put her in the classic to meet us. I just think she's that good in all due respect to all of our other competition. I'm not taking anything away from anybody. I just believe in our horse, not trying to be cocky era Ghent. I think we're going to take it under serious consideration, meaning running her against the boys outta mile and a quarter in the Breeders Cup, Classic oppose the Breeders Cup distaff for Mont to be that confident. Not that he's not confident with other horses, but for him to be vocal about it and outspoken, I think that just goes to show what he genuinely believes of Elat and we've long talked about the mile and a quarter for her. She's built like a tank, and I think that mile and a quarter is going to be very, very beneficial for her. Should they go that direction? You would imagine the Belle Dame would be the logical prep spot for her to whichever race they choose to run her in Churchill Downs. I would be for one very excited. See that when you consider the difference in the disk. Staff and the classic from a distance standpoint, she can handle on the obviously, but I think she's better in a mile and a quarter. If you'd go to the Steph, you need to deal with Abel Tasman which again, I think under the right circumstances, this is a coin flip. I don't think talent wise, the tune, the two of them. I think they're very, very close. You go to the classic though, outside of accelerating diversify. I mean, could you pay late in as the third, the third choice in their machine head of Catholic boy is she ahead of some of these other horse. Entirely possible. I, to be honest, I kind of agree with the notion of, let's let's run. What do we have to lose rude lose runner in the classic. I think it's interesting fascinating to see how everything continues to transpire. Who knows? Let's say for some reason, God forbid there's a defection from able Tasmania out of the distaff. Then all of a sudden they reconsider say, let's go there. We're going to be the favourite. Again. She was the favourite and the death last year. At the end of the day. This is a fantastic horse race between two fantastic Phillies, and you have to look at it and say, this is what gets the juices pump. And even if you're just that die hard gambler he gotta look at this respect it. You got to athletes thrown at down and they put on an absolute show for the second year running up at Saratoga going nine for a long Abel. Tasman again, just gets the better of Elat not without some controversy. They both earn one, oh five buyers. They both earn one thirty one plus time for him. US ratings. They're very clearly the two best older fillies that we've got going. We may not see a matchup between them again though, because Abel Tasman sounds like they'll train her up to the Breeders Cup distaff Elat mountain company thinking long and hard about it. She might be running the Breeders Cup, Classic at ten furlongs against the boys. I thought one of the more impressive performances was the first grade. One of the day up at Saratoga on Saturday, the field for the h Allen jerkins formerly known as the kings bishops, seven eighths of a mile three year olds on the main track field of. Nine signed on..

"This is a big time hor stale. Roman to set looks like the Allen jerkins is going to be the goal here for this one. He's always been high on this runner. It just always felt like they were trying to find out what his game actually was. And the longer distances didn't seem like it was really ever gonna work out simply because of his running style. He wanted to go. He wanted to go. Now he is naturally fast, but he since he has shown that he can sit off target and still be as offensive as when he's out there on the front end promises fulfilled becomes a very, very interesting sprinter going forward. Now he's gotta deal with that other big horse that we spoke about earlier, what we saw it, Saratoga, and even the horse we saw out in southern California. So I don't know if Breeders Cup kinda race. If I'm thinking right now and who knows, maybe he's going to continue to mature and continue Benner better, but at least for racing, the jerkins promise Ville has to be on the shortlist of contenders in there because now with that versatility that ability to sit and finish, he becomes a major major threat. We'll see if that continues down the line for. Let's say Breeders Cup time, but nonetheless big time effort from promises fulfilled as far as engages concerned. He is a nice horse, and I can't really say anything more or less than that. He is not as good as sort of the betting has suggested. He is because really he's had to tremendous setups, and he just hasn't been able to get the job done and he hasn't been poorly. So he somewhere in the middle, I wouldn't trust him as far as a win contenders concerned to me, he's always going to be a little bit better used underneath. Would it stunned me of chattels sudden got a horse to improve a little bit with more time and more seasoning? No, not at all. I mean, CHAD'S the best, but. I have to be honest, I've always been underwhelmed by engage. I don't know that he's quite as good as people have made him out to be and me. He's nothing more than a fringe contender berry lead. This was a fine effort considering this really as I ask test, here's a three year old. But at the end of the day, he was a country mile behind the top. Two clearly shows that he is not quite of their caliber right now at this stage in the game also worth noting. He's one that I would love to see them get back to the Sint. He had that big win out at Arlington last year's a two year old. And from a pedigree standpoint, and the violence babies, I'm telling you, violence, love synthetic. His damn loves synthetic. I would like to see them whether it's Woodbine, whether it's Arlington, whatever else it may be like berry or anything else. Try turf with them. At one point barely. I've always been a fan. I will always be fan. So tasha fulltime revival not gonna hold it against him suit. I think he's a he's inferior as far as qualities concern and he's probably better going a little bit longer coming from off the pace in old time revival, his game is speed. When they go this fast, it's gonna make solid horses, inadequate. I think that's kind of what you saw here with this one time revile. Got out run early on and he fell apart late at the end of the day, a giant effort from promises fulfilled and he quickly stamps himself as arguably the boss of the three year old sprinters, east or west giant effort for the Romans training..

"He was supposed to do very similar to the way that Hochberg did what he was supposed to do in curling on Friday afternoon. You're supposed to go out there. You're better than these horses. You're faster on paper. There are questions about the quality of everyone else you're supposed to go out there and get the job done, and that's exactly what he did check. Good. Now the question becomes, can you really take control of this division against the better horse? Because let's just call us betas bay. This was not a a stellar addition of the Haskell. So he went out and good magic. Debris was supposed to do. He has the connections in his Corrina. The question is can you get out to ten for longs? Can you do it at Saratoga? And can you really be the one going forward that takes over and says that this is my division now justify, he's, he's, he's gone. He's in the Berea view. Now we're looking forward. This is my division to be. Had proviso had a little bit of a shoe issue in the race. Wayne Lucas says, he is good to go. He shows up runs each and every time. Okay. Maybe he's not as talented as a horse, like good magic, but you know what you're going to get out of. You're gonna come with an honest effort. They're going to go to the traverse with him. I think ten vor long's works better for him. Maybe then horse. Good magic. Now, does that make up the difference? And we've talked about it distances usually the great equalizer. Does that narrow the gap as far as talent and abilities concern will find out sprinkle and some other good talented horses and that Travers, it may not be a stellar race. It's pretty darn good race on paper right now. Anyway, everyone shows up and it's interesting. I think there are a number storylines that could come out of that Travers at Saratoga. At the end of the year, loan sailor continues to be a little bit of a disappointment in a spot like this. I think at the end of the day, you gotta wonder, z. wanna go shorter. I wouldn't mind seeing them. Try to turn him back for race, like the Allen jerkins. I don't know if that's actually what he wants, but I think you gotta try something a little bit different now. And as far as core beliefs is concerned a little bit of a disappointing effort a little before the back than I think probably than ideal inside. You've heard some people discuss whether or not maybe that's not the place you wanted to be on Sunday afternoon, core beliefs. We've seen him doing good things to just totally write this off and say. It was a one hit wonder, I think he's a good horse. It'll be interesting to see where they regroup with him. And as far as golden Brown is concerned, then golden Brown need to go back to the turf. I know it sounds like the connections believe that he's okay incapable of handling the dirt. To me, he is just much much more attor force than a dirt horse. And I this point I would say, let's stick to what he's good at. Not that he's not. Oh, he's okay under. He's just okay under think he's far superior on turf lousy. Go back there. Good magic. Really this race boil down to him coming into it was about him coming out of it. It is about him. Now the question is, can he go on? Can you win a race? Like the Travers? Can you win race it, the Pennsylvania derby? Should they decide to go there? But it sounds like Travers is really what this situation is going to be and can handle some other horses, some of the more talented horses than what he faced here on Saturday. He looks good. The two year old champion is in great form. He got through the triple crown season. Maybe it didn't go quite the way that the connections would have hoped that it would have, but he's come out and it seems like he's no worse for the wear ninety eight buyer for good magic. When in the grade one Haskell go west. A grade one. Here's the field for the Clement l Hirsch.
