"Jalen Smith's that? He's a monster that they're behind him every step of the way. Joe looney said that he's there captain. That's why he was that Seon is chess Zack Martin said he didn't want anybody else to be his quarterback that is very very powerful emotion. And I think something else that the Cowboys have going for them. And it sounds crazy given the season that we've seen so far for the Cowboys that these would be the two points of stability in that Prescott. Jason Garrett the Cowboys themselves, and again, you can disagree with it. You can think it silly. You can think it's dumb. You can pick a stupid. But they absolutely believe in Jason Garin. They fight for him. They love him. They go too bad for him. Whatever needs to be done the Dallas, Kabul. Even because Jason gear that's very very powerful emotion. And it's very very powerful tool in sports in football. And they believe in the moment between Jason Garrett. Allen Hans at goes without saying that all of us are thinking and praying for and hoping the best round Hearns the moment, and it was all of the broadcast where Jason your upheld, Allan Hearns his hand that was very very very powerful. You can listen to this again on the sounds in the locker of sort of July Byron Jones spoke about that. And he referred to Jason Garrett as a father figure he said that he's more than our coach. He's a father figure to the point that, you know, he takes care of Byron Jones talked about how you know, the Cowboys and all NFL teams all football team spent so much time to get it. It's been some time with one another and you develop you know, care you develop emotions and feelings for one another you care for each other their family in. I know that sounds cheesy in cliche like a movie and whatnot. But it is the absolute truth. And it's something that is worth. In their benefit as they head from other battle. You know, the Cowboys have this. It's us against the world mentality about them. And the fact that they're taking on the team that the entire world crowned the Rams were the team. And you know, you know, what you saw everybody saw in the offseason they landed dominicano when they traded for whoever it was up the Rams just gonna win the Super Bowl. They're not gonna lose a game etcetera. They're gonna be amazing shot McVeigh. You know, he memorized everything you knows every player and everything that ever happened in the history of the world in the fact that they were crowned. I think is a motivation for anybody. But specifically for the balance Cowboys because this is this is the Dallas covers America's team. This big stage is Los Angeles Saturday night. And all the people are going to be there. This is going to be the game of the Jason Garrett era. I it really does kind of have that feel you know, divisional weekend. If you've watched NFL football for long enough, you know that this weekend, we are approaching is incredible. You know, the divisional out of the NFL playoffs. Never disappoints. You always good four. Magnificent games. We're gonna get colds chiefs early on Saturday afternoon, they will hopefully set the tone, but this Saturday night Cowboys Rams has the potential to be a really memorable night in a really memorable game in the history of the Dallas Cowboys this is in the Cowboys. You're kind of playing with house money for being the Cowboys were three and five into about that for a second. The Cowboys were three and five and they now find themselves against the loss Angeles Rams a game away from the NFC championship game. That sounds absurd. A lot of you, by the way are listing. The line saw the line if anybody on Twitter periscope or the blog was Facebook live could give us the line that you have seen. It will be held for for the group's conversation. I know that is Justin obviously the line that just come out about an hour though. When the eagles beat the bears think it was six and a happy seven was the first I saw. But again, appreciate your comments. This this game is used. Thank you very much. None.

"Five game win streak just a few weeks ago, though, not so hot they were three and five with rumors swirling about firing their coach and making a quarterback change this off season. Jerry Jones says this team is motivated by those early season struggles. When you've had the downs or when you've had type season, we have it's almost like in life growing up without any money or growing up in lesser circumstances. Once you've tasted that failing. It makes you appreciate and makes you not wanna go back there and this team. Fortunately has had real challenges early this year. We have lived Dell about it. Things yesterday on this program. You said you echo just about everything of late. Jerry Jones said is that streak still alive, man? Jerry. Here. It can tell the story in Jerry, if you know of his story, it's definitely a rags to riches type story in those who have grown up with tougher beginnings. He relates to and man he has a bond he understands that. So I could see why he would use an analogy like that. He's one of the few NFL owners with that story, by the way the trajectory that he had in the beginning that he had compared to his other thirty peers across the league. So how have the Cowboys ground since what happened in the early part of this season? I think it's important to let people know as far as staffing has seven new coaches this off season. Now Jason Witten Lieven that locker room Dez Bryant leave in that locker room. So they had culturally they had tremendous amount of shifting going on. We didn't calculate that before the season. Jerry realizes why receiving room his big off season move from wide receiver was Allan Hearns from Jacksonville. Who was injured who he thought could be number one. I thought he was going to be a number one there. I knew he wasn't a long term solution to build solve your passing problem. So Jerry realize I'm not going to punt on the season. I believe that we we're good enough and with that young defense, but all the changes they went through offense of line not playing as well. So they've made the Justice. He is right. They went through some growing pains. They are on uptick they are one of the hottest teams in the league. And they're getting better because they're passing game is getting better. So those types of things do they do fortify as locker room, and you do understand right now. I think in beating the saints a few weeks ago, they saw their potential so insane. That man when you're when you grow up poor, and you go away to college, you start realizing man, there's nicer things in life is nicer places to live. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. These young players. It can be affectionate. And I like how they responded after two big Thursday games, especially the second one against the saints. They came back the next week, and they were focused even though they didn't play great football weren't making a lot of mistakes weren't being careless weren't getting a lot of penalties. So for me them being focused and not letting that success get to their head. I like where the Cowboys are. And Jerry, I hate to say it again. I'm buying Jerry me. It is not an overstatement. It's not hyperbole say the Cowboys right now are the best at everything that they've been at any point in the year the offensive line. It's playing his best. It's young defense is not as young anymore. Jalen Smith is first year healthy. He's now thirteen games into that year late Vander h you really good player even right when he came into the league. But now he's thirteen games into his NFL career Zeke is running the most effectively he's run since his rookie season. And obviously as of the fourth quarter and overtime of the Philly game. We're seeing Dak Prescott it's very small sample size. Very very very, of course. But it's the most recent it's the most recent thing we've got he played the best. He is played. And the reason that even though it's a tiny sample size..

"It's bad as allies plan. Guess who's Kuba QB are is worse than alive. The Dak Prescott. This is a giant. That you do that. So just I got a wrap this up. Okay. I just have to see this because this also written my guts out last night, walk tombs first touchdown pass. It is so ill, advised. It is so dangerous. If we could, please just see that it's the rollout Rier throw across the body Nutro out. He's he doesn't even really see where he's going to throw the. He whips it sideways across his body and what is Alec oval dri doing? He's got the short zone. Of course he'd already fouled somebody so they have to play wouldn't account in any, but Ogle tree number fifty. Two really good linebacker. He just watches the football. That's your football. That's the one you pick off and car. Carson Wentz would create a committed the cardinal sin in the remedy Bombeck zone, inter seventy two Baalbek new already pass away with this. Is it another to be? What is we do skill? I just can't. I walk. I don't wish evil. Just throwing balls up for growers. Getting away with it. He knows where you throwing. But of course he's got alshon Jeffery. He's got a true number one receiver, and he's got maybe the best catching tied in and pro-football Zakar. Go reputa- up. I just wrapped it. That in there I'm just saying my guy didn't have any of that today Jerry's. Okay. Okay. Would Walker, we'll tire, Ohio, Ohio g go, get them. The Cowboys offense hit rock bottom. Skip and Shannon will make their picks. The Cowboys are three point underdog at home against the Jaguars on Sunday. Dallas is averaging just under seventeen points a game, and now they're facing Jags team that is ranked. Number one in total defense drama has been circling. The Cowboys locker room all week after Allan Hearns call out the play calling and then took shots at the entire offense, including his quarterback Dak Prescott said about her, his comments, quote, things have been addressed. We're great. All right, Shannon, this is going to win that one. Before I'd say who's gonna win. I don't know if they're great, but I think that does a great job of deflecting and hamlet, like leadership, you just gave him a compliment. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Calmly are year. I gotta give compliments. I'm very parsimonious with my communist, but when they're deserved, I have no problem. Doling them out. I won't take the Jags. I'm gonna take the Jags twenty four thirteen. I liked it for house black Puerto could score twenty four points on my defense because that do you love might have you seen that play this year? No, I guess not. Yeah. Have you seen how many to basically watch the defense? Then? I go in the other. I I don't. don't play. You don't believe what I would do because what he did in two thousand with the ravens, they watch our defense office come on the field. They go get drink. I just think when you got boy, you got Ramsey outside, not that they're going to be needed, but you really can play man across the board and if you need to. But I think because the Jags are so good defensively with their front front, seven, those linebackers comply around to the football. They go make life very difficult. Zeke. I can see a very similar situation. Would Zeke probably struggles running the football kind of like he did last week against the Texans forced to ball into that Prescott hand forced him to beat your football to those tools and fuel receivers that he has. And let's see ala hers knows what he knows. Jalen Ramsey he knows that deepens. He probably knows somebody that call they're called..

"And he took a couple of shots that you just can't take. He's not gonna last if he if he wants to engage. And you know, why does it he such a great kid? He's all time coach -able. He's going to try to run. Say that that that happened to me in Saint Louis pan against the cardinals. I was on the side and I'm trying to push for more yards after the play was over John dry because it was a goal the first down way down Jones said, hey, come here. He said he say, knowing that go out of bounds and knowing that's enough. And sometimes you just have to be. Mr. student body. Right. See, they say. Rookie hill. Learn that blink going. Title coach over no-one journeys. Eighty eight. They put them putting the right ELS on your. You only got so many of those in you got so many hits. So I'm going to say this one more time. I am impressed enough with this young man, even though he plays the running back positions pose the quarterback. I think the giants made the right picking going with him over darnold over Rosen over rate. Beth running back in. You didn't. You didn't do point subject. One of those other three not over Baker Mayfield, but I'm taking three quarterbacks. I just don't love any real. Three of. Do you like. Yeah. You're saying, if you make me make a choice of this kid versus those other three quarterbacks left on the board at that point, I'm going to, but you gotta keep me lively. I gotta wait till next year, but usually there's nothing coming out shaking out right now. I'm missing. I know why you like that because you don't want them to have a quarterback because you know when the team gonna quarterback like Walker to you in trouble. No, I told you Baker Mayfield on taking him number one. And if he had been there at number two, I would've taken him over saquon. He will be more valuable on quarterback is always more valuable unless you can't play. Yeah, it's a couple of them to Eric. I'm glad you're here. All the candidates. Often somehow find its way against the mighty Jags defense. We'll discuss it coming up. The Cowboys are three point underdog at home, this Sunday against the Jaguars, the Dallas. "Make sure you subscribe to the bog in the boys podcast feed. We operate obviously in partnership with us be nation in vox. Media got tons of shows on there for you. Different shows, different personalities from blog on the boys. In fact, today on Thursday, we have a brand new episode of the seven, five, oh, with me and two time SuperBowl champion, Tony Casillas. So make sure you subscribe to the feed to get that episode. It's Thursday, it's Tober eleven, two thousand eighteen. I we didn't get to show live yesterday or last. There's things have been a little bit fluky around here the last week as it is Thursday, we will bring the tree of life out today for our weekly NFL picks. There's a lot to get to before that. Let's let's let's. Just kinda start. Let's let's kick the can around a few things have been circling the couch. This has been the week to talk think about Jerry and Steven Jones. This week, both have addressed Jason GARRETT'S decision to punt on fourth and one in Houston on the forty two yard line and overtime. Excetera that's been talked about Alan Hearns made waves yesterday. We talked about this on ESPN Antonio's the blitz. We asked Michael Irvin about it. You know, look, I'm just going to say, and we talked about this on the seven, five zero. You'll hear it. There. This is the beginning this this is the beginning at feels like we've seen this movie before with a lot of different teams. A lot of different head coaches at many different levels, not just a football, but of sports. When you start to get people talking from the inside the way that Allan Hearns did Alan Hearns telling ESPN's Anderson that the play call on deck Prescott second interception in Houston. The one that Thomson tipped the ball on it was the worst type of play call. You could have against the coverage that Houston was showing Allen Hearns has doubled down on those comments to his, you know, defense, Alan her and certainly not shying away from what he said. He talked about. He told the local media today on Thursday, how he gave Prescott a heads up that he was going to be doing this, etc. So it's it's, you know, Alan Hearns is a high character guy. A quiet guy for this to happen for this to come from him was very weird, but the talking did not stop there. And this hasn't really been made too big of a deal quite. Yet we wrote about it over a block of the boys dot com. You can check it out for yourself. We'll talk about it right now. The pubis Albert breer 'em QB's Albert brea wrote about something that was said from an anonymous cowboy and anytime you what anonymous in there, it sounds really interesting, but our breer wrote about. How he, he mentioned, Scotland, a hand and his right up and how obviously he's been the target of a lot of discussion that we've talked a lot about Scotland Eoghan, but according to one anonymous, Dallas Cowboys player. If you're watching live, you can see this. Now when he was asked about whether Scotland a hand has lost a room, the player texted not yet, but he better tighten up so, and that's titan TIGA not titan as in remember the titans because I think that the Tennessee titans actually say tighten up as a as a mantra, so don't get confused there. But the point is that Scotland ahead is apparently on the verge of losing the room, so to speak. Albert breer did have a conversation with Stephen Jones that he wrote about as well where he asked if Garrett and his staff or coaching for their jobs. Stephen Jones said, no. He said, I think we're all coaching to win football games or all managing to win football games or all playing to win football games or not worried about jobs right now, just kind of. General answer, nothing really deep. Our beer did have a line at the end that is going to excite, I think a lot of Cowboys fans, and we've talked about how there could be a coaching change out of the season. Many people have thrown this name out as somebody they would like to see become the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys from Albers right up at the QB. As we said earlier, it's a tough time to be considered old school, which is hell in a hand is seen given the Doug Peterson and vase of the leave..

"He said a couple of weeks ago, we kinda swept it under the rug. I think the thing is the reason why we keep sweeping under the rug with the talking about that is because who the players are. If that was then Tonio Brown, that was Julio Jones of lane players, receivers, we play more close attention to it, but we look at these man, y'all trashy anyway. So I keep telling you scale bay air breaks my heart that you know that you're suffering like this, but maybe maybe that Prescott maxed out maybe the best he's are you saying that we'll say at have the guts, have the courage, your convictions. Say he's a bust, say he maxed all say he just caught away in his rookie year. He's a little magic harder ride magic Iraq. It's Rilo maybe. No saying you always have to qualify like maybe this let me talk. No. Okay. Well, let me say this, maybe he magic maybe his rookie year. He had a magic operatic Patrick Mahomes more yet about half a year. Last year. Imagine car. He Oh, did did not. not. Do you want me to start giving you the numbers against Aaron Rodgers and favorite. No play Los Angeles Rams last year. Go check it out Goodell Dale in in both. both had no Zeke for six games. He had game. He ain't got show he got. He ain't got Lee not tackling. Dutchman is the rate of the second to noodle back in all. Tell me when it's my turn, it's your turn. I have so many issues with this. I don't know where to start. You have you. Can I put this in some perspective today? I want everybody to understand that Allan Hearns is the new desk Bryant. He is starting in place of Dez Bryant. It's is position. It's the routes Dez used to get called to run that Allan Hearns running. Alan Hearns was undrafted out of the university of Miami. He ran four, five at the combine, and I looked up some of the pre draft critique of him and I read not physical enough struggles to separate from tight man coverage lacks polish and precision in route running and average bursts coming out of breaks. This is the man who is replaced Dez Bryant. Okay. Let's keep that in perspective. He had one quote, unquote, breakout season back in what was it? Twenty fourteen throwing twenty fifth. Eighteen. I'm sorry in Jacksonville. He caught sixty four balls Dez Bryant had years of ninety. Three catches ninety. Two catches and eighty eight catches. And over that three year span, he led the National Football League and touchdown catches just for the record. So this is a poor man's Dez at best. I don't think I can go that far just for perspective. Now, what did he say? We didn't see this part in sound that we all, but he also pointed out that the two men coverage that he talked about just how many times Romeo Cornell call that coverage in the entire football game one time. So you can write it off as just bad luck. You could just say it's break. And again, he said, I don't know if Jack had the authority to check out. He he checks out like every other play. He checks out to a fault, Troy Aikman in his criticism on believe a Monday radio show brought up the fact they're playing so slow because Dak is second guessing everything at the line of scrimmage. So you want him to second guess this one or there's also this thing called disguise. Ever heard of disguise. Sometimes you just get trick fooled right to sometimes they look like they're going to do this and they do that. So now that you look back with the perspective at twenty twenty hindsight and you watch the game tape on Monday and you say that's played to man. And that's the only time that played it the whole football game. Why did we throw into two man? Well, let's look at that if we could see that pass one more time again..

"Guess what you're in the middle of a Stephen with show podcast. David made it. Let's go to Terry Alaba lobbyist even with them. Collar man is great to Southey ate it. What would you cowboy love itself? RBM, say what you to say? Our man? Are they too much pressure on Prescott for this year that about this? He's gotta show up because when he didn't have Zeki Elliott for six games last year, he didn't do much and the office did do much. Then they blamed it on attrition. They blamed it on Dez Bryant, not being able to get open. Jason went being a bit old, coal Beasley, Terrance Williams, not being able to be in sync for whatever the reason may be. But now you don't have it. You got Allan Hearns there instead of Dez Bryant right now, you still got Colby's Lee. You still got Terrance Williams and more importantly, you gotta Zeki Elliott. We can slice it anyway. We want to, but this is a Zeki Elliott's offense until Dak Prescott proves that is fresh in the NFL wasn't a fluke until then you all what you are. Have a nice day that's about as much of the cowboy love. I could take those go to Lynn in North Carolina. You lava Stephen, a real quickly to go ahead, hey, what's going on. Good to talk to absolutely quick condolences for your dad feel had feel bad about for you, but I'm happy for them. They they went home. Thank you. Another number two man give the eagles decent. Some love mad love. I mean they just mad load up. Monsters. Monsters reflects clock Fletch Cox, Brandon Ingram. Hello. De NADA clearing him, Michael Bennett as well. I mean, my Lord, they're gonna be able to get after the quarterback and stuff to run their number one. It gets to run last year. I would feel the eagles if I was anybody in the NFC but go ahead. Oh, well, that was there. I got a lot of the things. The minute I'll be there. Yeah, but I don't want somebody else to get in, but alcohol back when I got some terms, I got allows data you. Thanks a lot. Appreciate the call. Thank you so much. Ken trail, you lava Stephen, a real quick intro, go ahead. Longtime, speak on. So I don't think Levy on your play. I think he's going to be working as it own individual institution on the field and kind kinda scared for them to go back on the field season. So am I have a question for you? I have a question for you. So out of Rollins, burger breeze and Rogers, who has the most pressure going into the season? I'd say Rothlisberger, you gotta team a high powered offense. You've been knocking at the door. The AFC is weaker than the NFC. If I'm drew Brees is this shame if I lose to Philadelphia, if this is this shame, if is you lose to Madonna and Dominic and super to keep the leaving Marcus feeders in Los Angeles. Is it shameful? If I lose to Aaron Rodgers? Is it shameful? If I lose to the Philadelphia Eagles or Minnesota Vikings an ATar rank defense, nobody is not if no shame for if I'm drew Brees and I lose to those guys should have lost the Minnesota that Dan fluke play. That ended up with Stefan digs going to touch that by the way. That's great. New commercial with Steph digs for gyco where his his hand is stuck to everything sticks his hand and stuff like. That was hilarious. The great commercial. I'm happy for him, but they locked up in a case in New Orleans. There's not really that much pressure in the case of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The only team standing in your way is Tom Brady, you should be better than Kansas City sandiego charges. Sorry to Los Angeles chargers. Haven't been in a place for seven of the last eight years. Don't get me started with the raiders Bradley. Chubb involved. Milliken only do so much for Denver. Houston ain't ready. Jacksonville's. Got Bortles. I mean, what's the problem if you the Steelers is all about beating Tom Brady and then go page. So all the pressure on Big Ben more than those quarterbacks. Y'all have a lovely weekend. I'm looking forward to week one. Talk to y'all on Monday and tell them pizza love. That's just a sample of what you hear on the Stephen swift show weekdays at one PM eastern on ESPN radio and ESPN app.

"I gotta confess I'm getting a bit excited about these playoffs beige baseball players coming up. She's Oakland come out of nowhere. All of a sudden they're doing that thing. Now everybody wants to rave about Billy Beane. Billy Beane deserves incredible respect. There's no question about it, but I will say this with the chip, I know you know how to manage books. I know how you know. I know you know how to maximum, you know, maximize effort based on dollars. You dole out. He could easily be about it at discussion about ally, man and considering what the analytic folks use the money, and whether it's commiserate with performance, vice versa. Eccentric center. But at some point time got to be about the chip. And that's my tech, Billy bean as an have one with the Oakland. Boston Red Sox. Lord have mercy, they look, they look scary. I think I read a article last week with somebody was comparing them to the ninety, Handke's but. Yankees. I mean, it might have an argument. That formidable. I just wanna throw that out there. That's just me Houston Astros with that rotation, Irwin and kaikal in those boys, even double colors. Got hurt. I'm I'm sorry. I'm not sleeping on. Wait me up when somebody believes that the dodgers are really going to win something. Wake me up when that happened. It ain't say ESPN. It's edited seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six to the phones. We go. Let's go to Bernie. You live Stephen, what's up Bernie, talk to me man. Bernier you their basketball, Bernie you there. I'm here, go ahead. My man know. Good ball folks. Tell you boys in the background, stop screaming to Saint shout country. You can speak on behalf though Bernie now, Utah, who's the goat, what Jordan Jordan or LeBron. But we got, I said, Jordan on many occasions, I told y'all asking me that question. I will never change my mind. What about Macau boy span? How do you feel about the Cowboys this year? No wonder why you got on my nerves of ready. 'cause you're a cowboy fan? I knew it. I just knew it. I knew that my day could not go by without him from one of his Dallas Cowboys. You know what? They might be therapist team and NFC east who's your receivers? How come y'all screwed over this that way. Does you got a job that is the leading receiver? Yeah. Had now understand if you let him go, and then you just go and replace it with studs, but you've got Allan Hearns Colby's Lee and Terrance Williams really. But they know room for days who. Who could have gotten a play for less money. There's no room for days really, really Bernie. I can't believe I got rid of them. Thank you. Have a nice day. Let's go to Darren. You lava Stephen on ESPN radio, what's up? I'm good man. I can't complain what's up. Talk to me. "The guy seems like a nice kid. All right, coming up, rich rookie quarterback is ready to go. And we one that's next on. First thing. We're going to move on to the Dallas Cowboys football focus, rank their ride receiver core twenty ninth in the NFL, but don't tell that to call easily form a Cowboys. Great. Michael Irvin said, quote, Cole Beasley told me that the Cowboys ride receivers will shock people. Okay. See, are the Cowboys wide outs being underrated here? Underrated. I mean, why should they have a high rating. Eighty. I mean, 'cause I really try to give him credit. I'm really trying to listen to Colby's because we're getting a lot. He's got a big speaking role this year evidence. I mean, this is seventy seventh year. Surprising people know that like he's been around for like he's no, no, no young football player. Like has he ever started the game? See ever started again, NFL they start if I mean a lot of teams starting three guys. Yeah, issue six years league. Typically he would have started some gains by fatal the rating for the Cowboys. Wide receivers are appropriate for who they are. All right, because why receiving groups are are like Nick, Nick, and discuss this a lot. It's like a basketball team, right? If you have a group because you need a center. Now we got small ball now, so you can have a small five. So everyone can't have a grunk and everything, but it'd be nice to have a. Like you need a table center, someone who can throw the ball into they can generate firsthand. Okay. They don't have that Mr. Lyons. All right. So if you don't have a center now, we need a point guard, who is their point guards? I would say Colby's Lee might be their point and when sees a basketball team, just thinking about it size wise, like you, you guys complements others. So you're shooting guard might be guys size and shape in speed. So you like to build a diversify that, but ultimately you need either a big person that can be dominant or you need someone on the wing that can score and get buckets. Now they don't have that Allan. Hearns is the only receiver in their careers that had one thousand your season. So I would say Alan Hearns might be underrated Colby's. Lii is a slot receiver. He's gonna be a product of the system, right? His yard per catch going to be anywhere from seven point, five yards a catch to Levin yards. A kit, his touchdowns. He's not going to score many touchdown. When you watch video Co. busy, you'll see him short area quickness. You'll see him getting open, but immediately you will see him getting tackled go into the ground. So who's going to get them guards after the cans? You know, to me, I put they at the spread it around Terrence wins. He's got to become the ultimate deep threat for the Cowboys because they have to run a lot of play action. But for me, Alan earns is the guy. If he doesn't have Levin hundred guards this year, it's going to be hard for the Cowboys in the wide receiving corps with not would not approve tight in on the roster. It's going to be hard. So no, they're rated exactly where they should be less than the word underrated overrated. Sometimes we will misunderstand what they mean like something can be great yet still overrated. Taking example from the musical world might make some people angry the Beatles. They were great. They might be overrated given the fact that everyone says they're the greatest musical group ever. Something can be mediocre yet be underrated I'll go to the sports world. I think Andy Dalton fits that Bill like he was any don't get treated as if he's a terrible quarterback. He's he's a fun. He's an okay quarterback. So I think he's a little underrated, but sometimes things are properly rated and that's the Dallas Cowboys wide receivers. They are looked at as a group that's bottom five in the league, and they are bottom five in the league. If you are in a position where your best hope and arguably your only hope for thousand yard receiver is Alan Hearns within your properly rated. You mentioned Terrance Williams. Now. I think he could be key to them. In this regard. We saw early in his career. He was the big, play guy. That was he was seventeen yards a catch over sixteen yards a catch each of his first three years..

"You're our score forty two while you're giving up forty five to the opposition, not really gonna help you win ballgames there for the eagles. I mean, obviously the question with them went into the season as quarterback situation. Obviously, Nick foles guy, and basically they're just trying to figure out how they wanna go about this whole Carson Wentz thing, meaning when's the right time to bring back. I mean, we all know that Carson Wentz is the starting quarterback for this team, but there's a point where you don't wanna bring them back to really and you don't wanna bring them in late enough to the point where might cause controversy because there's honestly a possibility was team starts out three four now. And if that happens and say winces and come back till about week five where week four in the eagles are three four. Why the time there might be a bit of a QB controversy there. I mean, I get Wentz is your guy and all that, but why are you going to mess up? Not assure thing, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it here with Nick foles. Again, it's not like this is going to happen and all that, but it is a possibility. Then you got the saints Jags play the last game of the night, not the last game of the night. The last game of this segment. Excuse me. Percent for the eagles Steelers. Same goes for the saints. Jags preseason is unnecessarily priority. It's more so about what you're going to do in the regular season playoffs for this to teams. And when I say when I say preseason isn't a priority for these teams are meaning like for the other teams where maybe it is that you got some young players who are gonna, be starters that you need to develop in all that in this time, crucial saints Jags pretty much have all their starters here where to go. They already know what their team's going to be looking like week want at least they hold. So that's what I mean by that. But either way, I mean for the Jags here in this game, I mean, if you're going to be watching out for anything wide receivers. Now, while in Robinson, no Allen Hearns. Those two are gone now. So now you guys Keenan coal Dede Westbrook marquees Lee. How can perform Allen Robinson. I think we could all say was a very good number one receiver for this team. Allan Hearns had one good breakout year since then and really put a big number like that since has been a decent number two. Now you coming in with a whole new group, warming group. That was there lasted more so good bedding. Get too much playing time or anything like that. You're gonna see how well they look with by Bortles. So that's obviously what you gotta look for the jacks today as for the saints. I mean, I'm not really. Afford to the younger is obviously you got down portent all that rookie, but are the way I'm like, except for both of these teams. Preseason is a blip on the radar..

"All right, and welcome back to the MC football podcast. We spent the first segment talking about Dell Beckham junior second one on James Winston, and the third on Josh Gordon. Okay. Now we move on and talk about some training camp stuff. Okay. Some training camp battles and. I mean, one is over in Dallas as far as it was going to be the number one guy. Okay. And I mean, I guess battle really is between Allen Hearns. And Michael gal. Okay. I don't see Terrance Williams taking over that spot for from Bryant because of the fact that I mean has turns Williams ever jumped out on the TV to you and just made you guys. Definitely, number one receiver know that dude has been. He's just been the guy who played opposite Dez Bryant for a few years. Okay. I mean, he hasn't really done much. Kobe's a slot receivers will never be the number one guy that I guess that's why it's between Alan, Michael Gallup. I got a soon that Allan Hearns getting the not here. Okay. There's no way that you signed Aaron her out her the free agency to have him not be the number one guy. Okay. Assuming that Terrence Williams has got his thought spot locked up as far as the number to receive. And even then, I mean, we could see it. We're Gallup in Hearn's are the starting receivers Williams. I mean, what's the point of having Williams on this team? Okay. I mean. Honestly, as Terrance Williams ever. Jumped out at, you know.
