"Nicolas Cage is going to host and apparently there's going to be comedians and experts and whatever are going to give us the history off. Uh, six different swear words, not the exact ones that George Carlin talked about. This is a lot of Overlap. Haven't seen this yet. But the history of naughty words is a fascinating history and it goes back. Ah, lot longer than most people think. I think a lot of people think that their grand parents didn't even know the really sad words. Not only did they know them, but they're great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great. Great grand parents knew them and use them. Well, Here's one for you. I heard I'm not true. This is that the middle finger came from the French and English or someone having a war against the French. Choose to pull her beau back with her middle finger, and when I got captured, they cut their finger off. So they when they were in radio to battle, they flipped him off that I got my middle finger. That's battle. Is that true? Well, I of course that goes by self goes back so far, it's hard to confirm them. It sounds like such a good story. It's got to be apocryphal. But of all the various origin stories off, flipping someone the middle finger. That's probably the most satisfying. I love when someone does that to me, because I keep blowing kisses when they do that. Ugo Dr Bob Thompson, the professor of pop culture at Syracuse University, Happy New Year's Eve to you and Happy New Year's Day. And What a great great interview wealth of information really interesting subjects there. Well, happy New Year to you, too, as well. All right. Take care. I will say thanks. Sure in hell, 60. Sorry. No, that's okay. Going into that works going into sports. I will say the one thing I've missed more than anything. This year is just the right to hug people. I'm such a hunger And I missed that because you could look at people is okay to hug you. And I miss that. Oh, you're not the only person I mean, I'm a person who enjoys shaking hands. I like to give high fives. I loved it. I like to hug my friends and family. But I've had to stay disciplined about it and again, and for me, it's a little bit different than others. I have toe And, Yeah, you miss that, But I do. And I know you're doing sports right now. Teams at the end of the game. They don't shake hands anymore. Either. They just give one of these across the field. Yeah. What's up, dude game. I'll be honest with you at the pro level. I don't think they need to shake hands afterwards. I'm not. I'm playing against you, man. We could talk another time. That way. Yes, I just kicked your butt on the field. I mean, let me go tell you gotta be like, Hey, how's it going? Round of the playoffs? Good to see. And then we get the arrow story right after it because they'll hold up the middle finger, right? All right. Justice Amy Cockney Barrett. 14 years ago, Baird publicly opposed abortion and Roe versus Wade. Now a number of state laws that directly challenged the right to abortion access could be headed to this new Supreme Court. One of those laws comes from Georgia in the Georgia State Capitol today, Governor Brian Kemp signed legislation that all but bans abortion in the state governor camp signed it last year. As you all know, George is the state that values life. We protect the innocents. We championed the vulnerable. We stand up and speak for those unable to speak for themselves. We're going to hear now from two Georgians who voted differently for president and who had dramatically different reactions to Georgia's restrictive abortion law. Emily Mochi is a mom. Ah white woman living in one of Atlanta's diverse suburbs. Our government's primary reason for being is to protect the vulnerable. You look back in history, and you want to be on the right side of it. Brandy Hill, a black woman who moved to Atlanta from Chicago was outraged by the law and by Kim saying he values life. No, you do not. You care about birth, right? Like if you cared about life, you would do things like, you know, address homelessness and address, maternal mortality and address infant mortality. So Nam Boschee has the story of these two women and why they've landed on different ends of this national divide. You got it. Don't unscrew it. You just pop it off. "Weeks ago. Alison Winds, is a nurse practitioner at the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics in Iowa City. She remembers Donald Trump's visit to the state just before the election. I remember with the last rally that was here. We were all holding our breath because we saw all these people, you know they're in close proximity they're not wearing all of them aren't wearing masks, and we're just like bracing ourselves, like Is this going to be Super spreader event. I spoke with Alison in her office in the intensive care unit. So, Alison, you're just finishing your shift for the day. Tell me about what you've been seeing. So today I actually was carrying the triage pager. So that is the pager where I take phone calls from outside hospitals or physicians or providers on the floor in the ER. That are trying to get people into the ICU, and it used to be one of my favorite jobs. It's now my least favorite job because I have to make decisions about whether or not a patient gets an ICU bed or not. We've been in the pandemic now for you know, since the beginning of the year and for a good little bit Iowa didn't have as high rates as other places in the country. But now it seems like Iowa rates are really peaking. Why do you think that is? Everything is open again in Iowa. You could go to bars. You could go to restaurants. You can go to the mall. Schools are open on again. People are just letting their guard down. And, you know we're hearing from leadership that we're rounding the corner, So I think people just aren't taking it either. I seriously as they should be, or they're just No longer have it in them to continue to do the things that we need to do from a public health standpoint to keep our numbers low enough to be safe. I think it's pretty clear that America is really divided right now over a lot of things. How real of those divisions for you. I think they're really mean. I think you know the election is now over. But I'm scared that people who are on one side of the fence or feel like They don't need to wear masks because it's the right not to or that this isn't as bad as the media is making it out to be. I'm worried that those people will push that agenda harder. And will resist even more. I'm also worried that people may see the results of the election and say, Oh, thank goodness we're fine, and I don't I don't think it's going to be that simple. How is it affecting you personally? I'm tired and I'm struggling and I'm sad. It's just devastating to see it and to have to still be a good friend to these people who are not doing the things that would keep your community safe. It's difficult to go home and be a parent when your kids are worried about the virus, and they want to go back to school, and they're scared that Mom works in the hospital, and they want to know if I was safe and if everyone was safe You feel like you're wearing so many hats and they're all really, really heavy hats. Alison, I can't thank you enough for the work.

"Belting out some, the right. Yes, sir. The last waltz. Everybody should if you haven't watched less wall species really need to get some of this fine are. It's been a couple years since Bobby thanksgiving, my attribute show. We did when we were here we haven't done in a while. But yeah, we used to just do the whole last waltz, which was Rick borders. I that play together forever. We were just kind of toil some that stuff air day and ideas still there. We get the band back together. How many people does it take to pull that off? That was like, you know, I don't know eleven or so. And then we had guests, I, Don Mcgann wrote came out and did the Joni Mitchell stuff, and Jim Kolbe came out, and did the muddy waters stuff, and, and, of course, Pete carrying out who else was on the, the gig. Jeff Peters, and just, you know, community of great musicians have fun. Well, it's a treat that we got Sean back to back weeks, because that, that doesn't normally happen, usually, it's once a month, and you stayed in town this week. And we're you, you kind of alluded to this last Friday, but we're you blow in the heart for the Jay guile. Oh. One of the more more nervous gigs. I think I've done because these song, we talked about, you know, that, that can you say who it was it was John Schwartz recording. And I'm not sure the band was to be honest with you, but it's just a project. It's a bunch of, you know, a studio cats. And, and I it was it was a treat. I mean the band sounded so good. And I just came in and you know, blew my face off. Are you playing live? Or are you playing the tracks? I'm playing two tracks but you know, because I don't think a lot of people still really get away. Yeah. Albums get recorded. Is that correct me if I'm wrong? But typically, the ban does a demo and then the drummer goes in first and lays down the drum tracks, listening, basically to the demo. That's, that's your foundation basement of the house or click track. When we were the then what the bass player comes in and lays it down. Okay. Rhythm section down. You know, and I'll lay down scratch, I've been doing last month with brick waters, working on the fourth record. We have done together, Rick. And I've been planning to get it for almost forty over forty years and. How you feeling that there's every aching pain? So, so when you were doing the harmonica for, for this stuff was it all finish, and weight, and everything. Track. Yeah. And it was pretty cool. Know I was good on, on most of, and then it came to jam not I put it off to the. Because, you know, you pull that stuff up, and it says J span nineteen Seventy-three in, I'm going, I was thirteen you know, and. Guy goes, he goes, well, he goes, thanks for coming in really prepared. I said I've been prepared for this year. Hard-driving jammer hard-driving, man. It's been so long since I've played that I couldn't remember the exact name of the second song. It's one of those things that goes together like eruption and you really got me or serve you right to suffer. Yeah. Yeah. And, and tonight, I'm at keystone pub out at Polaris hanging out with John Schwab, and Molly Parkin from Guthrie lane. "Columbus is News Radio. Six ten WTVN. John could about how immigrants are driving Ohio's population growth. We'll get back to those calls or I should say. We'll get to your calls got Tony, Don. Louise, Scott, please hold tight dot because I will get to you joined right now though by Eric resear- from the sports department with some breaking Buckeye. Yeah. Letterman row who does some of the best Ohio State recruiting and news on the internet is reporting that Matthew Baldwin has asked Ryan day to get put his name into the NCW transfer portal, basically is asking to leave the program. Now a few member the spring game that you Baldwin was the backup to Justin fields. And those two are going to have a quarterback battle heading into the fall. Now, it looks like with Baldwin asking to transfer their only three guys in the Ohio State quarterback room. Justin fields, Chris Chugunov graduate transfer from West Virginia, and Danny Tandy, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio. All right. It's going to be interesting because now for the buckeyes if they want at any quarterback death depth before the season they'd have to go out and find another graduate transfer right now, it'll be Justin. It'll be the Justin field show until further notice and just hoping that he can stay healthy until you know, the football season gets here and then stay healthy throughout the season. Because it really does hurt the buckeyes at depth Letterman row, the story that I'm reading right now says that look it wasn't a quarterback competition thing for Baldwin of that he wanted to be closer to home. And he's from Texas so be on the lookout to see maybe which Texas school or big twelve school. He decided to transfer to a now with NCWA rules. It's pretty much a quarterback free agent market. But we will of course, have more updates on that story. You can follow us at six ten WTVN. News on Twitter. Perfect. Thank you very much. Let's get to Don. Don, thanks for calling the six pack and done. What are your thoughts on immigrants driving Ohio's population growth? Oh, I thought Tucker made a good point on this the other night. He he said that with all the immigration illegal and legal immigration coming in that it was driving the wage mortgage down so bad that native Americans. Just don't feel like they either have, you know, they don't have enough money or they're just not secure enough to have kids of their own, and and we're actually kind of replacing our population while we're driving down our standard of living and done. Do you think like the example that I was talking about earlier with some of these employers calling up these immigration places saying, hey, do you got any workers? You can send us what we'll pay for their transportation over him back. Do you think those guys are part of the problem by in here again, I don't know if they ask if these people are legal or not I don't even le- legally. No, if they can ask them that. But we we've got a a subset of jobs in this country that Americans won't do or they won't do it for the amount of money. That's being offered. We got a whole bunch of people ago. I'll do that. And I'll work I'll work three jobs just to be here in in and make a living at the end of the day, whose fault is that who do you point the finger at? Well, I think there calling up those people because they want to pay the the lower wages. I'm sure that there's people that could take those jobs, and when it comes to not enough workers or jobs American won't Americans won't do. I think there's a workforce in the tens of millions in America that literally aren't allowed to work and they're called teenagers, and they wanna work. But I mean, if you can hire an adult alien, I guess for the same price or. I guess that's the way you'll go John. Thank you for calling tonight. Louise, Scott, Tony, please sit tight we'll get you coming up after Alison winds in the newsroom and everybody shot at an instant grant. One thousand dollars now. "I'm Dave, man. This is the six pack tonight. We're just having some fun talking football buckeyes got into spring spring ball today with an eye on the April thirteenth spring game. They've got you know. Not brand new coach. But basically a new guy in the head coach role. They've got big shoes to fill it the quarterback position. You know, Eric research joins me got Josh we're talking about. Okay. We went over the the buckeyes schedule. So Eric says buckeyes are at ten and two Josh has nine and three Johnny hill says ten and two Icee nine three. Now the Browns. Let's just rip through that schedule here. Real quick wins losses because who do you think? I don't have it in order. I just have a readout of whose home and who's away. So okay, Buffalo Bills. Eric win lose draw. When when right. I I would agree. Josh Josh on the phone Miami Dolphins that's going to be a win. Right. That's I don't think any of the the actual order of the schedule's been released yet, NFL wise, you just know whose home and who's away. Obviously the Browns have the AFC north. I'm gonna put them right now at ten and six tone, six Brown's got I think this is. Here's here's what I've got them losing to. I got him lose into the LA. Rams. I got him losing to the Seattle Seahawks. I got him losing to the New England Patriots away. The Rams Seahawks are both in Cleveland losing away at the patriots losing away at San Francisco only because it's just a west coast road trip and that Jackson with people. I am losing it Baltimore. And losing at the Steelers one two three four. Yes. So I put some at ten and six not a bad season. I mean. Now, the funny thing about it was seventy eight and one this past year that's seven hundred percent improvement on last season. So Josh, I don't know how much you caught it. I believe me. I know the Browns schedule by heart. I've also got him at ten and six this year. I think However, I think they go five and one in the AFC north. So I think they I think they sweep Baltimore in Cincinnati and split with the Steelers, and I did hear you Dave man say that the Bengals we're going to be a dumpster for. I'm going to have to agree with that. Okay. Just because there's so much turn. There's just so much new involved with this Bengals team. I've never been sold on Andy Dalton and I do think they move on from him almost as early as the NFL draft. If I were Cincinnati. And if I were advising Zach Taylor, I say, take whatever assets you have and move up and get Dwayne Haskins who has more wins, Columbus destroyers or Cincinnati Bengals stories at seven wins just being optimistic, and I have no idea how the rest. The AFL looks. But yeah, I put twelve game season. So they're gonna go six six. The Bengals went four games. I think it's gonna be a long year. But it's going to be a year where you can look at it and say, okay, we were bad. But it's rebuilding as Eric on on me on the Browns to recap. You're putting him at ten six. I am. Josh you're putting ten and six that's where I got him at ten six. So we're basically saying that Ohio State is I got him at nine and three. So I think the Browns will beat them by one game. Josh you think the Browns will beat him by a game. Eric you think they're going to tie for the amount of Windsor. We'll have fun. We'll continue to talk eight to one WTVN eight hundred six ten WTVN. If you want to jump in. We'll get to Alison wind the newsroom, and then back to the six pack. Newsradio six ten WTVN. News,.

"Additionally in sports, Mike Weber has decided that they Rose Bowl will be his last game for the Ohio State buckeyes, he will turn pro after the Rose Bowl. He joins dream on Jones in that effort, Dwayne Haskins junior. Still waiting on his decision. Many people believe. After the season that he had a record breaking season at Ohio State. The Dwayne Haskins junior will likewise make that same decision. And likewise decided to go to the NFL. We'll wait and see I'm wondering how many of you feel about the decisions that a lot of college football players are making now and Denzel ward of the Ohio State buckeyes made that decision last year before the Cotton Bowl. You know what I'm just not gonna play in the ball game. I've got other things to do. I don't really want to risk injury or risk my potential draft status by going into the NFL or by playing the playing the ball game. And and thereby jeopardising where I could potentially be drafted. It's a it's a great debate that rages on now with a lot of sports fans and even non sports fans who look at the responsibility of athletes to their teammates the commitment to their teammates, the the willingness to finish the job so to speak, you can tell by the words that I'm using that my opinion is they should finish the job. They should go with their teammates and finish the season rather than making what I believe is a selfish decision to pull themselves away from their team. So that they can protect their own draft status in the NFL draft. Now, there are many people who will debate just as passionately on the other side of things to say, wait a minute. Why would a kid? Who has the potential of making millions and millions of dollars in the National Football League jeopardize himself in a game for which he gets no return zero return? There's no money involved. There are a few bowl gifts. That's about it. There is the pride that would come with winning whatever that particular bowl game may be. Yes, that's all true. But no monetary return. I understand both sides of the debate. I also realized that I'm pretty much old school in this debate. But I also believe that. You owe it to your teammates to finish the job that you started with them. And I understand that. There are varying levels of talent in all sorts of college football. And guess what? The the best players have the opportunity to go to the NFL. I get that. But if you start a season you start a job, you start whatever it is whatever task you're trying to achieve you do that with your teammates, you roll on with your teammates, and you finish the job with them rather than saying, you know, you guys go play that game. I'll be fine on my own. You guys just go do that. I'll be good on my L. We'll see what happens in terms of the decisions that many other athletes will still have to make between now and the completion of the bowl season. It's almost as though half. I'm applying for a championship. I'm not playing for a national title. Forget it. I'm not doing it. If I'm not gonna do this that I'm no there's just no chance I'm going to play with my team. I just I don't like the trend, and I realized that it is pretty much everywhere. So all right. So what else is going on? Let's let's talk globally. I mentioned before we went to the break that the situation in France in particular in Paris is is not getting any better with the yellow vest protesters. Another person has died as a result of those protests riots that are now into their fifth week, and they just continue to roll out of control. Let's bring in Tom rivers ABC news with the very latest on that. Good morning, Tom. How are you? Pretty good week five is now over here, and they were down substantially year in Paris expected around three thousand people around the country, maybe sixty six thousand, but it is a real expression of people power people fed up with packages up to the right tease and the wealthy getting away with tax breaks left, right and center and the straw, really broke. The camel's back was his fuel tax in mid-november and people said enough's enough. So we've been taking it to the streets here. And again, they've got some concessions. They may get more concessions from the government will have to wait and see and that will be if this process goes on in the coming weeks, Tom just enlightened people who might not be up to speed completely on this. What what is the major issue there? That's got these people out in the streets. Yeah. Well, they basically say that they call macro and the president of the bankers whose his background, of course, was in the investment banker, and he he held no office. And again, he's giving tax breaks for the one percents of the elites, whatever you wanna call them. And of course, since two thousand eight since the big crash, everybody's wages have gone downhill, and it's becoming tougher and tougher and tougher. He really has been out of touch with what normal people are going through. And he says I'm starting to get that now and he's changing his tune, and even so he's partially responsible for some of the disturbances and an ugly scenes we've seen for the parents five weeks in Paris and other cities. Well, that's certainly in itself is a concession. What else are they looking for? What else are the are the protesters looking for type of type of concessions that would make them relax a little bit? And maybe. Draw back on some of these some of these protests. Yeah. Well last week last Monday Macron came forward and said, look I'm going to put a halt on this thirty cents a gallon extra surcharge on gasoline and diesel. Pretty good. Also, he has some concessions for for students and senior citizens so he did not raise their taxes as he was expecting to. There's also kind of interesting phenomenon known as a people's referendum whereby you would get to a large petition maybe seven hundred thousand names on it. And then you submitted before the national assembly here and your Representative in parliament. But then discuss various aspects, maybe another tax at the people, don't like, etc. Etc. So it would get people involved in the democracy in the country here. And and that's something. The government says, look, let's talk about it. There needs to be a lot more detail work that goes into the let's let's talk about it. So we'll see where it goes as I say it is starting here. The concessions are starting the dialogue is starting. But it's got a long way to go. Let's hope that they continue steps in that direction. Tom. Thank you very much. I appreciate that six fifty. Let's do traffic and weather. Do it every ten minutes on the tens TempStar heating and cooling. We'll have to wait because Alison wind has a news, news tease. I we got teen vaping on the rise. "And so I my guess for her is that we are being set up for like a fallen angel story are she's my guests for goes out at fire. Okay. All right. So you feel like I thought you were gonna say that. And that's why I think she's gonna win. No, okay. I don't think he's going to win. All right. So there's lots of chew on this season. Certainly, no, we've got a lot of like, I said, I think it's being I think we're being told a lot of stories, and I really like it. And I think I think we've a lot to consider because that's a popular theory right now that she is actually going to you know, that we've that we've seen we've seen her. She hasn't really been impactful in. In any of the votes really to this point. But we've seen a fair share of her certainly in the relationship with Dan and then not wanting to stay with him. And then ultimately get going out, even though she wasn't part of that plan, and some people feel is that Akef friend could be a fake friend, even but definitely some popular of thoughts of that. She could potentially go very far because we're seeing her so much. Yeah. No like, I said, I think she's going far. And I think that they want us to feel really positively about her. And I think they're I think they're setting her up very well for a positive receipt. When she gets burned by not creating fire. This is just my prediction. I'm gonna kind of I know nothing because in a hypothetical situation where we're talking about the three the dinger's in in CARA and Gabby and Allison if they got to the end if that evac group of three got to the end, I kind of feel like that she would probably be based on what I've seen so far. I think that I would have her distant third in terms of who I would vote for you think tell Gabby Allison CARA in the final explain to me why it's not closer between Allison and CARA. Well, I feel like that Allison has been more part of the strategic discussion. And she's being at least from what we've seen that. She's been more with working with Gabby and Christian and frying. To she a part of both of the of the strike forces where I mean, we saw a CARA she wasn't in on the vote with Natalia. She really wasn't involved in. I mean, I guess if you're if you wanna damn Allison two thousands. Allison's wanna challenge if she's been more visible part of what's been going on with the game. But like CARA has kind of been more just there. All right. I think so if those Gabby is the winner those I would as well based on what we've seen so far. I would put Gabby is the winner. I wonder if oh I mean, you're setting up this idea in my head where what if Alison winds final immunity brings Gabby and Nick defeats. Karen fire and the Nick wins. I mean, I like the story in my head. You like that you like this story I do for my own sort of like mental predictions. Yes. Trying to get for Alice. Gabby or care for them. Because in my head Nick is one, and we don't really know in terms of Mike white who his number one is is it CARA, or is that just we're just supposing there called Alison wonder woman. Right. Yeah. So I think they might be close. But he was on the fence of like the humidity. Like, it was a fifty fifty ball. Like, should I vote out Carl vote on Elson? Yeah. But you know, they make you talk through home come on all of that on tape. Yeah. I mean every option but Christian seem also legitimately concerned about Mike white now, he's an actor and how that's possible. Yeah. I'm gonna go. He's gonna go the other way. Everybody's just taking him at his word. Well, I think Mike was so there was that. So Mike was pulled into the strikeforce. But then sort of immediately was like as a bad idea, I met this. And I've made a terrible mistake, and so withdrew from that. And when obviously tribal lines for a bit there. I think I mean, obviously, my quite is ridiculously smart guy. Yes. And I think that he strikes me is just like he's it seems that he's having a great time out there. And I don't think. Just as Sandra and so- fee brought up voting with your heart..

"Seems like every few years you. Wind up getting prescribed some guy got. A good buddy. My never goes to. The doctor maybe that's why it's ignorance is bliss at some point I have no idea Alison wind has the news in. Just a couple of minutes here on. Seven hundred wwl w winner? Returned to the show we'll talk about what makes, something viral how, can something go viral I'm fascinated. By that because of my business anyway If you're on a web sometimes. You look at stuff and go no idea why that thing caught on because you could try to say okay I'm gonna create something go viral and it won't. But it's just happenstance it creates. It's interesting phenomenon guy actually has some. Science behind it. So maybe this predictable. Anyway Derek Thompson joins me next to talk about that right after news I think the big story today of course Vladimir. Putin making Donald Trump wait along Elson. Will have that and of? Course today's Amazon prime day in about an hour Amy wags from simply, Molly abound talking about whether that Amazon prime membership is worth it. I not only say yeah I say hell yeah because, there's nothing better than say when you're ready to go to bed. Or, whatever you get your phone out and you just start shopping mindlessly and buying stuff you probably don't. Need in the first place. Or you're going to go to the store and get an interest shows up in a day or two right, to, your house for what, the average amount is that, people are going to. Spend today. An Amazon prime day and it really is an incredible. Riddle is incredible amount of, money it's almost like really Christmas in July at this point almost. August because the deals are spectacular, is a, lot of people actually I'd, like to see the numbers on. This people actually today today off so they can shop online Think about. That they don't want to be bothered with work so they're gonna take Amazon prime day off get the free, prime, membership where the shipping just, to go and buy stuff now a lot of this stuff is heavily reduced it's almost. Like a clearance sale you, know you can. Get, your fit bits and stuff like that relatively cheap and I think the deals come out like every hour or something like that so there some websites are just. Completely devoted to tracking Amazon prime day this has become one of the interesting in the grand scheme of things how big a how big a day this is on the retail chart if you see a huge spike on this day you certainly think black Friday and, the Saturday before Christmas it's not gonna approach those levels but still. Probably pretty huge so Amazon prime day two thousand eighteen, is on Allison's got that and more just ahead Scott show back. "Our old vacuum cleaner we bought a dyson like probably i don't know years and years ago and this thing has lasted i was kind of against it we've got a good deal on as i recall that's a lotta money for stink and vacuum cleaner and finally wore out so my wife goes i'll be on we've got our money's worth out of it and i'm gonna go buy new ones so she goes she's you're not gonna believe this but you cannot buy a vacuum cleaner at least the dyson anyway that is that has a court they're all cordless which is i mean think about that whether you know if you're vacuuming house you got to keep moving back your cords getting caught on furniture the dogs chew and you got to find an outlet you stick it any move it around with this thing it's lasts like i think forty minutes the charge which is a long time you evacuating room at a time i guess but i thought it was pretty cool they don't even have cords anymore on the vacuum cleaners it's amazing nice son buys a he's got a couple of now electric skateboard you here's the did you see these things it's unbelievable he brought one over and the one he has a couple hundred bucks it's got little headlights on the front and tell lights in the back and it's got a battery pack on the bottom and it comes with the second battery pack that you would carry like i'm your person but he gets i think it was i want to say it's four now it's more than that it's like eight or nine miles to the charger miles it's a regular size skateboard the deck it looks like a regular skateboard underneath there's like a pack that drives the motor drives the wheels but you would think oh what are you going to get maybe a half hour workout of that for you have to recharge it eight to nine miles per charge and one day he wrote it from his place to work and back and i said that's pretty stupid because you can hit by a car won't be i won't be riding around they're on a skateboard but nonetheless it's it's built a ride and it's really cool you get you can balan you know i got an tried it i did okay on it but it was on the easiest setting you know when you cut it up to expert you really can start flying these things but we think about there you go nine miles on a frigging skateboard and then it comes on extra battery pack that's now that's a you could get a bigger battery obvious on one of these scooters so i'm pretty sure it goes awhile something called and said the how it works is a guy's job he drives around picks up the scooters and a truck and chargers them and then drops i guess refresh scooters off locations they do with gps obviously that's how they know where the scooters that's pretty damn cool technology right there now is it going to change cities and never gonna what probably in cincinnati but honestly i just don't see people getting rid of it because number one is the weather are you gonna ride that thing in the rain are you gonna write it in the snow no so the idea that we're moving towards modern new transportation structures and everything else yeah i get it know the streetcar was supposed to leave it at that it's a joke it's not we heard about scooters and segues and red bike and it's all good stuff if you wanna ride a bike today's a great day to ride a bike when my brother lived in clifton he'd ride his bike today a day on a daily basis until the weather got bad but you know at some point you're going to need a car so i don't see that going anywhere anytime soon pretty cool though uber's expanding in that area as well but the if you're not up on the battery technology it's amazing how far progress the efficiency these things are and what's going to happen in the future beyond my comprehension that's for sure so we're gonna get a news update alison wind has the very latest including by the way seventy one southbound at the tunnel is closed it's a you got a truck jackknifed in there and should get the very latest on that in just a second also coming up at eleven o six today we've heard of permit patty we've heard.
