"It's just sort of a news round up with short interviews with reporters. Editors, then we have an excellent one called China econ talk done by young man named Jordan Schneider who just finished up a master's degree in Beijing. So he's still living in Beijing. Now, working for Chinese technology company and just great interviews. It's sort of entity format show. That's more focused on macroeconomics on business. We have to shows that are around women in China, one is called new voices, which sort of a pun, on the Chinese word for female, which is new, which sounds like new and it is in features new voices. It's hosted by Alison Lou who's very well known translator and Joanna chew, who's a reporter who was until recently based in China. They focused on women mainly in the arts and letters, the second show is called tougher Totta, which is focused now on women sort of at the top of their professional game. We have a great podcast that's hosted happens by two women called the pan. Daily tech bust China pan daily is the name of their. Publication. But we host the podcast. It's really great. It's just a it's two women who who've been involved in the technology in China for very long time, just going really, really deep in to technology companies in China. Finally, we have an excellent podcast called Middle Earth. Little confusing has nothing to do with Tolkien at all. It's about the culture industry in China, so they focus on things like documentary filmmakers on feature filmmakers, as well on video games on, on theatrical productions on anything having to do with culture and China. That's really cool. So as our theme this month, illustrates westerners, have really little understanding of China. So as journalists who writes about China for western audiences, can you give us your perspective on why that might be and how that shapes your work? You know, it's, it's really frustrating. I don't think that there's some grand conspiracy of western media to, to shame, China or to make it look bad. I don't think that. American people are simply lacking in curiosity about China, but I think that are structural impediments. First of all, look Americans, we don't know that much about any country. I mean, even countries with really long borders, right next to is Mexico. It would be difficult for most Americans to name three states in, in Mexico or three former presidents of the country, we have a great deal of difficulty with that few people, I think, are familiar at all except just based on stereotypes that we've seen a drug cartels, and then kidnappings, and then, of course, you know, the flow of undocumented workers into the United States. It's very unfortunate. But when it comes to China country on the other side of the world, it's even more remote. What what we have is a situation where we have excellent coverage very, very good news coverage of China, but they're not going to write about the quotidian. They're not going to write about the every day. Going to focus on units. That are, you know, frankly news worthy, and those will often be instances of governmental or business. Mouthpiece, this will be about environmental degradation in. These will be stories that are sort of inherently negative now that's not the fault of the news organizations themselves. I think it's really built in our news industry is supposed. It's adversarial by design the problem is that when you use that model then you take it abroad, in covering country on the other side of the world, look, you don't have the leisure of expecting people to have the lived experience of being in China in very few of us have ever lived there. We can't get it in context. We sort of assume that the six or seven stories we read in the New York Times each day that touch on China. Give us a total picture of the place and they don't. So I think that you need to sort of understand the optical properties of this lens through which we've you, China. And understand the way that it refracted in the way that it distorts..

"And these there little tortoiseshell, and they're in hearts, and they're really pretty in their light, and they're just they're just fun. And I love, you know, talking about being creative and talking about, you know, working working women. These are this, these are two sisters who are super super close, and they formed a company longtime ago I think that where they get to do their passion and not that long ago. Guys guys, if you're listening to this I'm not saying long ago, you guys are super young. But, like, in terms of me like you guys, so cool and coming yoga class and like these jewelry designers and, and, you know, I just loved that I got to see you guys on on intermix. It's always fun to get to when, you know, sort of the artists behind a clothing line, or joy line or a maker product. Whatever that you love. It's an do think it's funny that we both came with airings talk about because it. Is a little bit. And I've gotten more and more into big fun earings, especially when they're light and I do where the ones I'm you talk about are also plastic because they're just kind of toss them in your bag, and they totally upgraded outfits can be wearing, which pajamas basically put a great pair of airings on it. It's, it's a very mom friendly hack. Same with headbands, which I think we've talked about before, too. So the ones that I wanna talk about you guys are probably heard of them. But maybe you've just seen them been kind of intrigued by those neon giant hoops, that everyone wears, they're the ones that I have from a company called Alison Lou. And they're called the jelly hoops. They're lucite plastic basically, and they way almost nothing they come in three different sizes, I have them in a million different colors because every, you know, every season she comes out with different collections did Neons for summer. She had really pretty pastels in the spring, and they just go with everything I feel like I wear them all the time, and they are you. They, they, they're big upgrade to an outfit that I don't mind traveling with I don't mind having my bag just for emergency..

"Honestly, I was like trying not to be free. So I got close ones and then let her life. She smell just like roses. She just looked so clueless. She happy to be there issues having great time. And she was just like enjoying all the different facets of the party like the bar, the food the couch the dance floor, you know? Yeah. Wow. I really enjoyed it. Very cool. See I'm thinking about getting a second one. I'll go live on Instagram and you'll have to hold it for me because I'm gonna be freaking out. Okay. I'm down to go. Because I check jewelry now that I'm like jewelry wearing a button pierced. Yes. Yes. Right. Above my. That'll be nice thing to maybe distract from my hanging. What I wouldn't be surprised if Alison Lou has like a no belly button policy for their parsing part to classic for that. I don't think she makes belly button ring. Should I get an running? No, no. There's only so many rings even get no tongue. That's cool. Yeah. And that's like now when I do my comedy, and I'm like. You're not hardcore unless you live hardcore true. Those especially important words to live by just like Tyler Perry. Oh my God. We have to start by Royal houses in Newark. I actually watched it this morning because last night, I had the agent party. I'm gonna also lesson eight I was asked a couple of weeks ago to attend this event. And it was for my high school the parents council, and you know, I thought it was prestigious that they asked me to like MC the auction to raise money for the school, Jerry. And you know, I was honored. And I was really not looking forward to it. 'cause it's like an awkward thing, you know, but I did it. And I went last night before the engagement party. And I just have to say like the parents council like did not care about me at all. Like, I tried to come to the room down. Nobody even turned around like people their back towards me. They were still at the bar. Like, I was liberty talking to just Ben and Carolina. Well, Carolina bell who was checking Steiner Jackie's fan from high school. And she was obviously on the parents council. She's like the coolest mom out there. She was like in the front row like videotaping. It was her in bed. Yeah. So cute. I felt very disrespected by the parents council, whatever. You did what you had to do. And you know what? Now, I'm sure that also is about night Brita go because I'm sure the whole parents council was talking about the scandal being down the cheating scandal. Oh, yeah. You think one hundred percent that's like a thing. Parents or like loving now. I guess I think like all much happened. Is that one of the silver? Yeah. We're gonna talk about it. Even though it's not like our take on. It's getting a lot worse. It's getting worse. I've been really I don't know. I guess because I'm along writing planning, I'm like home a little bit more. I have deli pop on in the background. Maybe I'll even do some news except they don't give hot takes on E news. They just give you the news. They don't give you personality or opinions. The news is horrible. Right. But like sometimes I just like to know what other shows are talking on. Have we missed a major store, but I watch the real yesterday only because steel step doesn't click or not stealing put it on. He loves the real. But I love and I don't know her name. But I saw her on worst cooks in America. Liberty addition Laurie the girl from the view from the real real I fucking love her. She's house people who is just. "You've decorated your apartment that there's anything that people can say, I mean, obviously, there's always assholes who will find something nasty to to say, but like for they're not patriots well-meaning people. I don't think that there's anything that they could even if it's not for them. There's nothing like crazy about it. You know, it's just like in my last apartment, I felt very sure of my decor style because I was very into just like because your room to decorate mirror mirror mirror mirror mirror on the wall. The thought of them all me, but in this apartment, I went for a slightly more modern more mature contemporary style. And I'm just I like it. I just don't know, you know, it's just different. I'm not feeling sure of myself and the word that many comments on the beach on post to like I was looking for some validation there. And I did find it. Right. Speaking of allegation, then we also didn't episode. That's coming up tomorrow where I took the test which I have taken a tape three. I don't want to talk about it. Jackie took stay tuned to see what number. She is. But I want you guys to guess what you think I am. Oh, that's a good idea. If you are familiar with this Zeidan, and then I was explaining it Zach when I got home, and I was reading all the personality types that of course, when I told him what I am. He's like you're not that because he thinks he's more of that than I am. Oh, no, he like, you know, rock, but then I was reading all the different personality types. And I think I know which one he is the one I'm going to do it with hit the toasters were read the personality types, they'd be like totally type three and also been invented it together on another patriot episode. So if you sign up for patriot now, you can get that episode, and it was really funny Ben was like not understanding the test whatsoever. But then he obviously got the most like flattering personality types seven. So those sit remember and seven seven seven, and it really hit the nail on the head when describing Ben minded too, but like a much less flattering way. Like, basically aggressive, and all I care is for people to like me and think I'm cool. It's true. I hope you I think she's cool because all that matters. Because apparently, I'm kept up at night. Crippling with fear that people don't like me or think that I'm successful. So please tell her she please thumbs up on this video subscribe to our YouTube channel follow me on Instagram foul and Instagram Paul public job on Instagram who's back on his bullshit. Posting premium content. He took a break, and he needed you. Honestly, like, so did we he was just like relaxing? He gained some weight. He wasn't really feeling himself. But he's back and he's looking better than ever feeling. Good too. Yeah. These extra Saddiqi he's excited for spring. So he can lose his winter static. So I'm thinking about getting a second hole a parsing hole. So and this ideal only comes about because Alison Lou who was jewelry designer who parse Jackie's ears by live on the morning breath. I went to engagement party last night. And then they've ever gonna piercing party today. And I think I'm going to get a second hole. I know it's like not crazy at all. Like, most of my friends have like three or four. But like, I don't know. I'm just like a conservative gal yet. But I think it will do anything at school. I think you shouldn't. I think like if you get your ear parse there. You get a discount. That's really why I'm doing it. Right. But also her hearings are so cute 'cause they sell them like individually because they're made for like fuck parsing parties. So like, you can I think you should get like a flame. Well, I everyone was wearing their Alison Lou Lou sites to the engagement party. Let's everyone in the problem is wearing a hat abroad. Was there? She had really cute like Minnie army. Green ones, that's hilarious. And then also I was looking around the room. And I'm like, Dan that girl looks a lot Jennifer Lawrence. Then someone goes to me to see Jennifer Lawrence. And I'm like, I did it was actually heard how did she look lady really studying like pure perfection..

"I didn't know what to expect from minneapolis which we keep calling it minnesota just because it's more fun to minnesota but it was minneapolis anyone though bustling which is this the state minnesota oh minneapolis these process by the way we work our over exaggerations of the accent in minnesota are not getting enough weren't even close don't even begin to scratch this slick when we ordered we're identities like i can i get you as any drinks a soda gore field a coffee when you are on the phone with the car service idol that story on the breath and the sea role nobody thought it was on look i'm sure you guys couldn't even here as you guys can be jaguar super bowl show up oh my god i was i steiner's shit such a hot mess in the best way 'cause just it was a tell you to like it was very hard to find the celebrity talent but only weighed talking to just the regular folk no total trade his woman just sat down one this family was sitting i thought she was a part of the family like oh how are you guys related she is i'm not him gentry what's coming his detention i can read injury though again because his weapon just sits exmajor smiling i'm like hi how do you know james or whoever is they're of it down jittery also the best part is that everyone thought they were on tv crates and the reason why so many people were coming we have like a very legit drama and we had a great like team and everyone i think thought we were on tv show look they were jumping in the shots ready to sit down and talk 'cause they're like it's all one chance to be our dna and it turns out to be some little instagram show some podcasting as this morning a dead yearly and also the ground cousy brothers this is the one thing that i will lead a life of a guy for the rest of my life we were looking for someone to teach it had a shocking to beer and we ended up finding that one person who didn't know how to shock and ever on his cringing because he shook the beer and drink from the bottom and spilled all over us.

"Honestly even for alicia no for relish it in and there were kids there ever was shook eight it's unacceptable it's unacceptable not in this climate made on this planet it wants to wars over but right now if you see that and he had one of the eagle's players on the at the bar last night trump and i want to touch so many questions it was so many 'cause you know any usually ignorance of our tender yeah like when i was on the financially with pretty wing but he was a in love with this guy he was on that so exciting and it was a great episode we'll talk about later i just wanna say like there will never be another super bowl that we don't intend of right now it's like a thing will every year and also it's like everyone's saying this was like the most epic super bowl game of all time like so many points were scored he was a tough match and like is it the most legendary game time and is it a coincidence that this was the first time we were there no titling so i don't think so either and like i know is that the eagles and the patriots but was it we were the superlow jackie the super bowl would not have been the same firm there it really would have not been the also didn't eat the whole weekend same tokyo me a lot totally but like is when ever we have the chance at least i had a lasagna for dinner one night before it was announced it was so tasty i don't regret it was good zillow yeah those good we don't see that i enjoyed it i enjoyed minnesota like we were saying where we landed it's like when you live in new york look you've got this like elitist mentality that like everywhere else is just like garbage so when i go to like because of my work i've been i've been the privilege to visit our you know our nation's best and five is cities and i'm always just like shocked and impressed when it's not like a farm like when i went to chicago and they had highrises that was like why look at you wives.

"Let's talk about the game 'cause we were totally rooting for the patriots and like they're making it so hard because like they're playing so bad but you know what i was just fun i was having like the game truly it was on the one hand the worst day of my life because i've never had such a bad hangover in all of my five years on the other hand it was the best say of my life the super bowl you guys is everything every oh epic i didn't even like football i was getting so into it and it was in part because we were in the best section look i don't know what special section we were in but for rao was right behind us miles teller and kelly's berry who are like our new best friends who right will not right there at a lot better she they were way down there and for an audio and then you had to go to the bathroom they had to pass and we like hung out in the lounge those opd was intersection for little jamie's move and someone wind down one of our sets of robert graham was behind as and we need a notice that from the bachelor yeah that's why we didn't notice up a is epic it was everything like we like i was having the best hive and i even for like a minute enjoyed the halftime show for a minute just at the end just when he did mirror of anka's like we were dancing i was dancing the whole super bowl here like they were playing we were dancing totally and like i just i had something to say and i don't know if ever her to my subject but when justin timberlake ended his performance he ended with a banquet literally abang where confetti shut out of cannons and i've like it was the most jarring scary like gunshot bomb sound that literally cumin the sound is allowed to look feel it right here everyone than our section ever in the stadium was so freaked out an all i could think was like really in this climate and this climate we are going to do that you can't shoot cannons in 2018 massive stadium you can't choose no difference in that sound between like what you hear gunshots on td when something goes down the sound was how pop really.
