Leon Panetta Blames Joe Biden's Blunders for '[Being] Irish'

"Listen to what Leon Panetta said yesterday to Alison camerata on CNN. I got to play this clip for you. This is how bad things have gotten for Biden's supporters. When she asks, why Biden made these blunders and these gaffes on the world stage? Brace yourself for Leon Panetta's answer. So why do you think President Biden made that mistake? I happened to think that Joe Biden, you know, his Irish, he's Irish. I happen to believe he's Irish. Yeah, that's what, that's why he doesn't know what day it is. He's Irish. That's why he doesn't know the difference between his wife and his sister. He's Irish.

The Idiocy of the Three Recalled School Board Members in San Francisco

"I mentioned a couple of days ago, the great news that in a recall election three of the most left wing members of the San Francisco school board were tossed out and tossed out not by some 51 to 49 margin, but giant margins in excess of 70% in all cases. Now, these three leftists on the school board, I mean, they are actually probably three of the dumbest people in San Francisco. I'm talking here about Gabriela Lopez, fuga moliga and Alison Collins. And they were part of this group that was pushing to rename the schools in San Francisco. To get an idea of how monumentally inane these guys are, they wanted to throw off. Well, they wanted to kick off Washington because he was a slave owner. So that's it. Enough said. With Lincoln, they couldn't say that he was a slave owner because he wasn't so they go link its policies were called detrimental to native peoples. One strike on your out. But to me, the funniest one was Paul Revere. And so apparently somebody did a kind of a Wikipedia a Google search. This is the extent of scholarship at the San Francisco school board. And they said that Paul Revere had taken part in an expedition that stole the land of the penobscot Indians. Well, turns out they misread the article, revere did have a role in what's called the penobscot expedition, but this was a campaign against the British, not against the Indians. So Paul Revere essentially was kicked off a school for reasons that had nothing to do with what the guy actually did. Now, reacting to their expulsion, the head of the San Francisco school board. And this is Gabriela Lopez. She tweets out she goes, so if you fight for racial justice, this is the consequence. Don't be mistaken. White supremacists are enjoying this. And the support of the recall is aligned with this. So she's basically acting like the recall was led by white supremacists. Now think about this 70% of the voters in San Francisco evident. In San Francisco, a white

Trump Claims Ratings Drop, Not Affair, Caused Jeff Zucker’s End at CNN

"CNN is the network that no one watches. Well, hardly anyone watches. But people still like to talk about. And there's been a lot of buzz over the resignation, the abrupt resignation. Of the head of CNN. The bald headed Jeff Zucker. Now the stated reason for this resignation is so preposterous. Jeff Zucker is basically set. I've got I've been having a relationship that began during COVID with CNN's head of communications a woman in Alison gallas. And I failed to I should have, but I failed to disclose it and so for this reason I'm resigning. Now, the idea that a senior executive at the head of a company would be forced out because he had a relationship with a coworker very senior coworker and didn't tell about it because it started recently under COVID and they didn't disclose it. This makes no sense. And everybody knows it makes no sense. And so obviously Jeff Zucker, the head of a news organization, is flatly lying. Now here's Trump who put out a statement, obviously kind of exulting in the departure of Zucker. He goes, Jeff Zucker's not out at CNN for quote concealing a relationship. And as the fake New York Times writes, this New York Times of course is just playing the Jeff Zucker music. He goes, he's out because a horrible rating is down 90% in all time low. Now, true Zucker has been a failure at CNN, but CNN I mean, everyone over there is a

When Matt Lauer was there, and we know what Matt Lauer was doing, and they were supposedly as thick as thieves, and Jeff Zucker had no idea what Matt Lara was doing. What Is the Difference Between a Mentor and a Sponsor? With Alison Martin

"Let's start with what you alison is a mentor. In how is that. Different from a publisher. Sure so what. We teach at engage. Venturing in terms of definition of mentoring is something that we there's a lot of different academic definitions. We boiled it down into a concept. Everyone can understand which is knowledge transfer so in other words. The mentor is shared there to show their experiences share. Their knowledge share their talent show. There was on whatever topic it is. Were speaking on so true. Mentoring is i've been there. I've done that. I've done that successfully. Ideally and i'm here to share my perspective with you so that you can really short cut your learning on whatever topic. It is that we are talking about it. We also teach this concept of having a personal board of directors or multiple. Mentors that you can count on but i believe it's important that you have as strong pure mentor. Someone who does a similar job to you but inspires you and is someone you can let your hair down with a little bit and really learn from and be inspired by someone who can give you some sound career advice and help you career perspective as you're thinking about what that looks like the more traditional mentor is when you aspire to be more like whether they demonstrate qualities and characteristics you would like to have or they occupy a position. You'd like to hold in the future. That's the most traditional form of mentoring but then finally we also teach this concept of competency. Mentoring so i wanna work on a specific skill or a specific topic. So i'm gonna work. Got a mentor to help me with it with that area because it's such a powerful and efficient way of learning whatever it is you're trying to learn that's how we defined mentoring knowledge transfer on whatever topic. It is that you are going to a mentor about. A sponsor is an advocate so as someone who is there. Ideally they're in a position that where they can open up doors for you or they can serve as an advocate for

Power Grids Feel the Pressure of Intense Storms

"Hurricane ida crumpled a major transmission tower. That survived katrina sixteen years ago building infrastructure. That strong enough is hard when the target keeps moving because storms are getting stronger energy consultant alison silverstein says utilities and their regulators can take planning cues from murphy's law. We need to assume that everything possible that could go wrong is going to go wrong. Simultaneously and murphy is always gonna win. President biden's climate plan includes a much bigger role for electricity electric cars. For example cutting carbon footprint says easier with electricity from emission free sources like wind solar and nuclear. But even those have to stand up to extreme weather putting wires underground may seem obvious but engineering professor destiny. Knock at carnegie mellon university says that won't always work in hurricane country where you might have under grounded. The lines to protect them from wind putting them underground makes them more susceptible to flooding knock. Says it's never just one thing that's going to keep the lights. On energy experts. We interviewed agree on a few basic ideas though. They say the grid should be more decentralized so the whole thing doesn't shut down at once. More generation out in communities such as solar power would accomplish that but new orleans utility energy has resisted calls for just that to the frustration of local activists at mit engineering professors. Or up. a mean says not all the fixes are technical. He says power companies also need to become more agile and do more when responding to storms the fact that some utilities are not able to sort of respond immediately is also another kind of failure which is perhaps as drastic as the infrastructure. Failures is assuming outages will happen. Amin says utilities should focus more on dispatching generators even before a storm to make sure important facilities and vulnerable populations get electricity restored as soon as possible. All this cost money that usually ends up in utility bills. Congress is working on major funding through infrastructure bills. That could address some of these issues. There also focused on president. Biden's climate goals including zeroing out greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector by twenty thirty five.

"About how old were you then. Save me back to the beginning here. About how old were you when you first became a dad and had to becoming a father kind of change your perspective on life. Well i dated a girl through high school and college. Same girl for eight years and then she went off to chicago to start her career she had done for years. I- red-shirted and so. I had a fifth year my senior year and during my senior year i met my future wife alison That year and then we got married. When i was i was about twenty eight years old Roughly and my first kids were born in two thousand. So i was twenty nine thirty years old. Roughly right around there when they were when they were born. Incidentally they were born I talked about this in the book but but my wife was twenty weeks pregnant than we would end for our normal routine. We knew we were expecting twins and we were going in for our normal scan and when we went in they said oh my gosh you know you're funneling we've got a problem you've got we got mitch you to the hospital. So she went straight up from that. Visit straight up the hospital to up up to the twelfth floor. And she stayed there On bedrest and held on for like to see if she could she could make it Did not get out of that bed for. She held on for eight weeks. And so the Twins were born at twenty eight weeks. There are two pounds each when they were born and then they were in the nick. You for about another eight weeks until they're able to come home. And so that was my introduction to to fatherhood and You know now. They're twenty one and and doing well. But tell you when you're a first time dad and that's your introduction That was that was scary. You know they're in the nick you and you know i didn't realize that your brain when it's develops tells your heart to beat and so their brains weren't developed enough so they're the ekg wiring all on couple times with flat. In 'Stillwater,' an American Oil-Rig Worker Seeks to Exonerate His Daughter

"It's a familiar story. The stereotypical American goes abroad crass and brutally honest, but with a heart of gold, who breaks all kinds of rules to save the day. But while the new movie still Water may wink at this formula, it has its own story to tell about America's place in the world. You're innocent, so we gotta keep fighting. It doesn't matter that I'm innocent Dad. It's not about justice about finding peace. That's Matt Damon as Bill Baker, a former oil rig worker who travels to Marseilles, France, to see his estranged Daughter, Alison, played by Abigail Breslin. She's in prison accused of the murder of a local French Arab girl, but claims to be innocent, and Baker struggles with the unfamiliar language, culture and legal system as he attempts to free her The movie is out now in theaters and its director is Tom McCarthy, who won the Academy Award for best original screenplay for Spotlight in 2016. I began by asking him if the real life case of the murder of MEREDITH Kercher, which sent American Amanda Knox to an Italian prison in 2000, and seven before she was eventually acquitted. Inspired this film. I would say the seed was there. I started the script 10 years ago, Really? And I was sort of fascinated with that case, particularly the idea of An American student being imprisoned and then ultimately focusing on the relationship between as you point out her and her estranged father. So it started there and worked on this first draft of the script with another writer, and I just got into a place where it just was straight up thriller. I just felt it lacked dimension and Maybe authenticity, and I sort of put it down. I made the decision is director not to pursue it. Put it in a drawer for about 67 years and I picked it up again and I re approached it sort of from Page one with two new French writers. And we really talked right off the bat with Tamar. But again, in the way Debray about exploring the sort of you know all the dimensions of this story, the human dimension of it. The thriller Dimension suspends

"Right alison just two little months ago. You and i were on the show talking about how the cdc said vaccinated people should feel free to lose their masks in almost all settings including indoors. Yeah i mean this guy was basically based on the honor system in most places you just kind of had to take someone's word for it whether they were vaccinated and every member matter. You and i shared some concerns about vaccine equity rates. Vaccinations still being low. And how this might affect people who are most vulnerable now here. We are today amid a surge of cases here to talk about how the cdc is now modifying some of that guidance. Can you tell us more about how the cdc made this decision. Sure it really comes down to two main factors. I mean the delta variant and slowing vaccinations about thirty percent of adults remain unvaccinated in the us. Meaning there's this huge group of people who are still vulnerable to the virus kids under twelve can't be vaccinated people with compromised. Immune systems don't always get full protection from the vaccine. So they're vulnerable to and there's something more here mattie new data suggests that vaccinated people who get infected with the delta variant could transmit it to others here. Cdc director rochelle wolinsky back fascinated. People infected with the delta variants after vaccination may be page and spread the virus to others. This new science is worrisome. And unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendation and she really points out that this is different from previous variants unlike the alpha variant that we had back in may where we didn't believe that if you were vaccinated you could transmit further. I'm this is different now with the delta variant and alison. We should be clear here right. The vaccines are still doing their job. Against the delta variant these vaccines are designed to prevent vaccinated people from getting really sick or dying and they are still doing a stellar job of

"I like it. It's just the perfect length. Now i think i was gonna use it for sidebar this but we're also just go into the sidebar because new year's resolutions is on there do you guys typically make them. Do you have any this year. I usually. i do have some this year. Like i just kind of refuse. This year has been so weird and and abnormal that. I like i didn't do a. I didn't do my normal year end episode. This is actually the very last episode of alison. Roses new best friend. That will air and twenty twenty. This is airing on. New year's eve is twenty twenty. That's right kiss. Kiss kiss our little hainanese view mir now twenty twenty. I just for some reason. I guess i'm like i'm resisting this whole the whole passage of time but also i want it to pass. I just don't i don't know so anyway. I have the smallest of resolutions. Which is i had stopped making my bed and just recently like in the last week started making it again and already. I feel so much better. When i walked by and i see that it's made like i used to be an ardent bed maker if i get up before my husband and he's still in bed. I'm itching to wake up. So i can just go make the bed like i make just my side of it. I wanna make it with him in it. I left all that behind me. And now i'm back babies. Would you think that was just kind of like a without the armchair analyst just like there's sometimes come like i just don't wanna shower anymore and i realized it a little bit of low grade depression. Yeah it could have been a little bit of depression. A little bit of malay- but i think it started. I had my son because all of a sudden sleep wasn't a thing that was happening during the normal hours and so it didn't make sense to make the bed in the morning when as soon as my husband can take the baby. I'm going to go back to bed. And so i started. I was like catnapping when i could and not really sleeping through the night so it didn't to me making the bed is like a way of saying day is starting now and i'll be returning to this at night whereas i feel like for the last four years i have been. I could always go for a nap. So maybe i'm turning a corner and actually committing to being awake during the day. Yeah that's no. I i hear you about the twenty. Twenty was so tough the whole year feels like it was like a resolution because of his all sacrifices and given stuff up with the idea of having to do more of that at the end of a whole year of. It doesn't sound quite appealing. File that under kiss ardo. She's high needs high news. Do you have any heine my twitchy. Tayshia i'm home. I think that that's right. You can go there and see what i have not had time had not had time just driving work and everything else ragging but you can go there and see what my wife thinks of me. You are someone who uses dental. I really leaned in hard if you looked at that. And you thought like who this person is. Who is this person you would think of an eighty year old man. Why because us breathe right strips because you use nasal saline gel because you use like. Let's just say curated differently than how i would've curated it. Managing my own brand. Well what's wrong with people knowing. You have a favorite dental floss. It's my favorite pretty good dental for it. Started with the dental floss. The dental floss is is solid. Had headed into your slippers. Both the swayed and the leather variety. Which you've used and you currently use them. You love them And then i was like what else do use. Oh yeah breathe right strips. Nasal sailing gel putting bandaids. Should've put your special fantasy. It's like you know there is like a jumbo jumbo-size hardly a recommendation. Fisherman's tackle box worth of bandaids on our bathroom counter. Batteries like what daniel us. Milk toilet paper. Oh i should use out of toilet paper. Let's put that. I should put your special. But wipes i mean but daniel. There's a. there's a point that i have not gotten to. Maybe i never will. But i intend to be question and i've been meaning to ask this of you. What do the bandaids need to be out in the middle of our bathroom counter. We have nowhere to put them. You have a whole under storage area. It's full no. It is not well. I don i need to. I need shelves or something. Everything's stacked on everything else look. I found amazing shelves for under the sake. I should get used. I had picked out for. We need to get cabinets and storage for the bathroom. I had picked it out. And then you're like now i don't like it and i'm like fine. Pick something up. That was a year and a half ago. And now i forget why i didn't like what you picked out was been nice. I think it was. It looked it looked tippy and t. and it wouldn't fit much like one of those chest. Has like teeny tiny listen visited online at the storage orphan or the furniture orphanage. You did not. Because i i went out onto the playground with it. You know those things those chest that have wasn't ours and you open it. And where did you hang on. The photo was actual size. You open it goes you. Did you thought this photo. I'm gonna put a battery in this one. And i'm going to put a paper clip in that one and i'll put my bobby pins and that one and then you're done. You thought you thought i was doll.
