"And then James vows, they've got an absolutely phenomenal signing. I think he's been an integral part of Mercedes leadership throughout their domination of Formula One. So I think that he's going to be a really, really good asset. He starts on Monday. As team principal. And I think that for Williams this year, yeah, they've got to look at just trying to properly get back into that midfield fight, because last year it was kind of like he had, okay, you're a big three at the front. There are no McLaren Alpine. They were sort of leading the midfield most of the time. Then there's gaggle of teams behind. And every now and then Williams would absolutely excel you'd see Alex Albon in Australia or Miami imola as well he put in a really good performance. And they will be able to basically get in front and just keep the cars behind. This year they need to try and do that more regularly. It needs to be that on merit they are there like that, yeah, not to say they weren't on merit last year, but they just needed to be more that we've actually got ourselves into position on pure pace alone. It's not through a funky strategy or rolling the dice or anything like that. So that's the goal for them. I think that, yeah, Logan sergeant, new driver coming in. I think that as with any rookie, we're going to see that sort of quite steep trajectory in terms of needing to get up to speed. But Alex Albon is into what is fourth 50s and F one now. He's a very safe power hands. I think is in a better headspace, better groove than ever, which is really, really cool to see. And I think he can really help lead Williams through this year. And then the following day, Alfa Romeo showed off their car, which they said, the C 43 will be more of an all rounder, which is interesting. We had a piece from our colleague Adam Cooper on why Audi's distant future in Formula One is helping Alfa Romeo, which was interesting. You can go check it out online. Then the car hits the track for a shakedown in Barcelona with a totally different floor. Giorgio piola had some thoughts on that, whether it was a launch red herring or a design dead end. What did you think of what you saw from Alfa Romeo? Yeah, it was interesting because when they did that initial launch, a lot of people said, oh, that floor looks. Yeah, very, very aggressive and then it came to the actual shakedown itself, and it wasn't there anymore. So again, it shows the difference between what you see at launch and what you actually see on the track. There is always that a little bit of disparity. But I think for alpha yeah, last year, the big thing that hurt them was just the speed of upgrades basically. They weren't quick enough and keeping up with the rest of the midfield in terms of bringing upgrades to their carts. And a lot of that is down to resources and facilities and stuff like that. And this is very much a team that's basically on the up again and recovering, I guess. So yeah, there's a lot for them to do. They're working hard though. I think that last year their big benefit in the early part of the season was being pretty much the only team that had got down to the weight limit. And as last season more on that, obviously became less of an advantage. This year, yeah, they've really got to focus on getting those sort of getting rid of the big peaks and troughs that they had. You see the team go, so many race to that point, and all of a sudden boss ass in Mexico was only 8 tenths of pole or something. And I asked Fred Vasser about that sort of low period they had in the middle of the season. And he said, but if you look at the time when we were closest to poll, that was actually Mexico at the very end of the year. So it doesn't quite make sense in terms of where they were. It's a funny one. But yeah, I think they just need a bit more consistency this year. I think last year I'm writing saying they scored the fewest points of any team between Monza and saw the end of the season. So there is a lot for them to try and I think catch up on and try to recover. So the Audi works partnership coming into force, that's going to be a massive boost for the team or whether there's kind of a nice sort of electric field bubbling around the alpha team, which is quite cool. It's the last season as alpha as well before they probably go back to Salva name for a couple of years. So yeah, Andrea sideliners team boss as well. The CEO of the group sorry. I think that's a fantastic signing. And I think that for the long term, they're in a really, really good spot. And I think I'm going to be one to watch. Maybe not this year, but in the long term future, definitely. Yeah, I'm really interested to watch how that relationship evolves because Audi are coming in as a full manufacturer. But for now, they are an investor. They hold equity now, they are their money is now going into the team, but of course they're running Ferrari bits, and of course Audi at some point would be a full competitor to Audi, so there'll be a day when the owner of the team says, oh, can we have a look at that drawing of the engine we're buying off you? And for no, you can't. But of course, the answer is yes because we're a customer, so they'll be learning an amount and

"Miss from him? I mean, they would dismiss his own brand of very well respected leadership. Martin, you and I recorded a podcast for all I support the other day. We talked about the career in chandak, who was witnessing Fred Vasser's leadership when Lewis Hamilton was driving for his team, now forming a team ART Grand Prix and he's just clear how much drivers all throughout the years are respected by ceremonies. He's obviously able to get the best out of them and he's a well liked or respected man in the paddock. He's fascinated to interview him because it's quite fun actually you laughed at his own jokes. He makes you feel very aimed. I imagine the drivers get a similar thing, but at the same time, you don't want to cross it. You're going to be a forthright walked right man. I remember interviewing smashing Philippe who runs the IoT Grand Prix operation. Also, rather an intimidating man, and he got a phone call. We had an interview and suddenly Fred Vasser's name pops up and he thought the boss and it is very clear. This is not a man you leave hanging on the boat. So they're going to mix that sort of dynamic element to it. Also, premises varying well politically connected, like, for example, is his spark racing technologies company build all the cars or the parts for formula E and extreme E so we're using the very good political operator business operators. And that has gone from album air, and that is a blow, of course. But at the same time, they've gained Andrea Seidel, who I think if you talk to anyone in the Formula One paddock, especially in terms of sort of up and coming team bosses, if you think the established ones, title wolf, Christian Horner, how many gears are they being the forefront performing one and clearly showing their qualities? Cider was the one that everybody. If you were going to be starting an F one team tomorrow, you'd probably say I want to drive to be that. Because again, the drivers had his respects. I remember the helm of course, the Porsche motor sport operation, when they were coming into formula E and I covered that championship. Speaking to the drivers there, some of those who were involved in that culture successful LMP1, the 9 one 9 LMP1 program that the team built from scratch. Just talk about how keen they were to work for him. So they've lost Vassar, Alfa Romeo, but the game side or when you think about us that early this is a team that's building towards something. He seems to be more in the background today. He was he wasn't front and center answering questions in the lord. She was there in the audience. Quietly visible, I'd say. That's what you want. So no vessel got Seidel. Things are looking all right for out for a quick plug for that podcast with current chandak. You mentioned out this Thursday, along with autosport, magazine, karoon, big questions, 2023. He asks the big questions about Formula One. You want to pick up the magazine. Quick plug. Right, 6th in the championship last year. What aspirations have the team got for this year? I mean, ultimately, it's more points, more prize money. I think this is, as we mentioned, this is a sort of it's not quite a treading water period for Alfa Romeo it sounds negative, but it is, you know, you are essentially all waiting for outings arrivals there for their big change. But yeah, I think it is all about that building up for the new to the new period for our format, but it's what any team wants. Let's get let's get more board and small prices do better in the constructors championship. And it's interesting. There are little things the team, the team can build on. I've been, as I said, very strong start to 2022. They're going to want to keep that going. So it's what the drivers often talk about more consistency, getting the best out of the team. There were a few sort of strange operational things that went wrong last year. I think most famous the most visibly anyway, there was that weird penalty of the team box. There was like a team member crossing the pit lane in Brazil. We might need one of the race to come over. It's the sprint of the Grand Prix, but you're getting a little handle on that will be a key thing to do, and it once you've got things running operationally totally slickly, ideally, as long as the gas festive, that again, will translate into those points that all the teams are chasing, but in this case, alpha around are the ones that we're talking about they're the ones that want them. Awesome, thank you, Alex, for your input on what is probably the first of the 2023 cars or at least what we're looking at that the back of it, the gear boxy bit, some of that is a little bit new and we'll

"Team stake 2023 launch under new ownership and a new CEO in Andreas Seidel, where it's a really big year for the Swiss team, they will retain their existing driver lineup with Valtteri Bottas and Joe guangyu behind the wheel of the new C 43. I'm Martin Lee joined by autosports Grand Prix editor, Alex karnak is this morning. What have we just witnessed a bit of a new 23 car or what? Yeah, I think your wedding's great there, Martin, a bit of a new 2023 car. I think technically absolutely compared to the 2022 car we saw for Red Bull and the livery identity put tea car that we saw from Williams. I think it will go down as the first 23 cards to be revealed from Alfa Romeo. But a little bit of a little bit of verge or caution tapered in there. They've obviously put out the rendered images of what the car would look like in CGI by their official channels via their press packs. These things always, they don't necessarily represent what the exact niche product is going to be because the team's naturally are going to want to sort of hide all their really key details and they hope they've been developing on over the winter just so the other teams kind of get sort of a full handle on it. I would say if you were watching the live stream, you notice when Valtteri Bottas and Joe grand knew took the covers off the car, little things are slightly different to the renders, for example, the floor, the air doesn't have those sort of amazingly aggressive and dynamic sort of things that alpha seems to be going ahead with this year based on what was in the render. So slightly different, you think that's probably more of a show car or sort of an adapted repaint in 2022 car. But yet, officially, the first 23 car we've seen and doesn't it look great. I mean, there's certainly from a livery point of view. It's really nice, really nice, different color scheme again. Let's have a little knock at Red Bull. Finally, a team has made a bit of a change and really humans as well. They're essentially running their 2022 livery. So yeah, good. A good start to grab the headlines and grab the knees forever. So it looks different. No whites on the car, which is interesting. It's all red and black. Now, can you just help us understand what does this say about what this car is? Is it an Alfa Romeo? Well, no, there are just a title sponsor. It's their stickers on it. Is it a Ferrari? Well, mechanically, yes, but is it an Audi? Well, they now have equity in the team. So can you just explain, how does this year play out? How do the next two years play out when it's not going to be an alpha? And then when does it become an Audi? How does that work? After it's always been a sort of then the current era of alpha has always been quite an interesting one because it's not a work steam in the traditional sense. It's a total branding exercise. That car that team essentially is still Sauber. It's a customer Ferrari operation. It's very similar. You could almost argue that Aston Martin is the same in a way. It's a race team that calls yourself Aston Martin because it has the same owners, but it's not like Ferrari where everything is totally developed in-house. But yeah, also with Audi coming in for 2026, they don't have overall control of the team yet. They're gradually increasing their stake. So it's almost a little bit sort of these new territory in a way for F one. You've got one car manufacturer say we are going to buy this team and we have a significant stake in this team, but it's running a total of unrelated car manufacturers, logos, and name. Now obviously that deal was in place. But yeah, in terms of the delivery changing, I'm not sure that's a reflection of Audi coming in. Obviously, that is actually quite the resemblance, the LMG one cars that the other liveries on the LMP1 cars that the Audi manufacturer was running back when it was in the world endurance championship for it left several years ago. But yeah, I think if anything, the black replacing the white potentially might be more of a weight thing. Now we know that after a mayor was the only team to be operating at the weight limit at the start and 22, but it helps to be able to not have to have extra pain on that carbon fiber. And in terms of how the Audi thing is going to evolve over the coming year, I don't think we'll see a lot. They will still be Alfa Romeo, run by Salva, everything we're going on in the background, and then gradually as it builds up towards 2026, the stake will increase the funding will increase and Audi will get very visible. I think they're probably wisely going to stay quite quiet at the moment, let the Alfa Romeo play out and then crack on when it becomes the full Audi squad. That's going to be fascinating to watch. Now, Bottas says he hopes that this car is more of an all rounder. So what does he mean by that? Well, it was interesting looking at Alfa Romeo last year, the sort of the team seems to do very well when his opposition was struggling. So let's think about the beginning of the season. As I mentioned, at the weight limit when the others were above it and couldn't sort of put their ballast around optimize their cards in terms of their setup around that the team absolutely made hay while the sun shone Valtteri Bottas very quickly qualifying grabbed good points results. We saw Joe grand you get that magnificent point on debut in Bahrain last year. So essentially I think what Bottas is getting out of there is you want to be strong in your own terms and that's obviously what alpha is doing, just like in a lot about changing the rear end design going into the gearbox casings, things like that. So obviously thought a lot about areas where they were struggling in 2022 and they've got the ambition. They've got the resources under the cost cap to be able to make these changes. So it's all sounding very positive at the moment from Alfa Romeo. But also I would say the teams, it's a bit like how if you look at Red Bull, the reason why Red Bull did so, well, one of the reasons why rebel did so extremely well in 2022 was that they had a car that was competitive over a whole different range of tracks. And that's ultimately the game. You don't want to peak in car. And it was interesting thinking back to Mexico. Suddenly, Bottas was up there again and qualifying. And it goes back to what I was saying about Alfred did well when others were struggling. So yeah, I think he basically what he's saying is I want a better car as all drivers will. But it just doesn't want to have those sort of peaks and troughs that the 2022 alpha was running with. So let's talk about management then, the departure of Frederick Vassar to Ferrari not had their car launched yet. So we'll talk more about him when we get round to them. But what impact will his loss have on the team and are you followed his career? Through the coming up to Formula One and now in Formula One as well. So you followed his career as well. What do you think the team will miss from him? I mean, they would dismiss his own brand of very well respected leadership. Martin, you and I recorded a podcast for all I support the other day.

"Now how about Alpine? Alpine is tied with McLaren 31 points and if they can finish fourth ahead of McLaren, that would be a huge victory for them. Also, they're pairing of Fernando Alonso and Esteban ocon. It's going really well. They're both competitive. They're both scoring points. I'm enjoying it. Fernando Alonso is going to be 41 at the end of July. I don't know how much longer he plans to keep racing, but he's not really slowing down. And he is still competitive. And I'm here for it, man. I love love, love watching Fernando Alonso race. And he's a tough old school guy that's hard to pass. He'll yell at you. But again, I think it's fun to watch. And Fernando Alonso asked him about them. They're a great pairing right now. Our French driver driving for a French team with arkon. Fernando Alonso seems to be the driving force. They're kind of like Tom Cruise was with Top Gun: Maverick, like nothing goes on under that his approval. And I love it. Okay, Alfa Romeo, there are 6 right now in Formula One with 51 points. I find out for a male just kind of boring. They're in the middle, they got a rookie Joe grand you who is finding his way in Formula One foundry botos was actually impressed me. He took a big step down going from a Mercedes car to an Alfa Romeo car. And yet he still competitive. He actually had a couple of good finishes, 5th in Italy. 7th in Miami 6th in Spain, Alfa Romeo, they're a bit boring, but they are a decent team. Now Hass is 7th right now in Formula One with 34 points and man Haas has been entertaining to watch. They've been bad for so long and to see them get points and do well is pretty cool. And you know, Kevin Magnussen has been competitive, makes Schumacher. By the way, Kevin Magnussen wasn't even supposed to drive this year, then Russia invades Ukraine and mesa spin to keep a maze that's been mazepin really loses his spot and they bring in at the last minute Kevin Magnussen and he's done way better than mazepin could have done and very surprising.

"Third is Mercedes behind them with 237 points in fourth as McLaren tied without being who both have 81 points in 6th as Alfa Romeo with 51 points and the next race is July 24th in France. We get a few weeks off between now and then, but the final 11 races of this F one season are going to be really fun, really interesting and I'm curious, who do you think is gonna win? The world title this year. Ferrari, Red Bull, max, Charles Leclerc, and then really the battle I'm very fascinated on a couple of things. First of all, can Mercedes catch up to Ferrari. Ferrari keeps screwing up Mercedes is in a position where they could eventually catch up to Ferrari and then I think galpin is a better team right now than Claire and I'm very fascinated on this battle for fourth. I think Alpine is probably going to finish ahead of McLaren and I didn't see that at the beginning of the year. So they've gained pace. They've gotten better. McLaren is really fallen off. Janet Ricardo is a huge disappointment. And let me know what you think of the final 11 races this year in Formula One. What are you excited for? What do you think is going to happen? And who do you believe is going to win the world title? All right, let's acknowledge it. We are at the halfway point of the Formula One season where 11 races in, there are 11 more races to go, and I want to share the current standings and check in on my thoughts on how every team is doing so far in form of the ones. So here are the constructors standings 11 races in. In first, you get Red Bull with 359 points in second is Ferrari with 303 points and third Mercedes with 237 points, then tied for fourth is with 81 points McLaren and Alpine. In 6, you've got Alfa Romeo with 51 points. 7th is Hass with 34 points 8 this alpha towery with 27 points, 9th is Aston Martin with 18 points and dead last intent is Williams with hey they got a whopping three points in Formula One, which I'm not gonna lie is actually pretty good for them. Also technically McLaren is fourth and Alpine is 5th because they were ahead going into the weekend. So if the year ended today, McLaren would be fourth and Alpine would be 5th, but we'll see his year goes on. I think Alpine's got a great shot to beat McLaren for fourth and Formula One. I want to start off by we'll check in with every team, but I want to start off by talking about Ferrari Ferraris and second place right now. 56 points behind Red Bull. And it's very, very disappointing because Ferrari should probably be leading Formula One right now. They've had engine failure four times this year, it's usually happened, by the way, when they have cars at the front,

"Vehicle will have its repair history stored in blockchain as an NFT, which is on the face of it sounds like, oh, that's great. So you will be able to if you're looking at a car, be able to because it's blockchain. So it's nobody controls it, be able to see what the repair history. But then Sam had one little tiny piece, which is only Alfa Romeo dealers will be able to write to the blockchain. Of course. So it really is and this is a perfect example of a good idea that ends up being a lock in for dealers doing your repair. I will say about cryptocurrencies to Andy's point. Education, that's the part of the process right now. And that makes a lot of sense because it's early. As soon as the government starts talking about creating a virtual dollar, which the fed has been. The EU. They're talking about a crypto Euro version. Those are all 2022 thing. They're going to start talking more seriously. In 2023, beyond they know that virtual form of our currency will be part of the future. And I think that's when more people will start to understand, especially if you're going to get paid in virtual dollars or in a way we are. I mean, my paycheck, I never see a dollar bill. My paycheck is just bits that get transferred to some place where I store my bits. And then I give my bits to somebody else when I buy something, there's really no currency involved. The only difference between that and blockchain is that blockchain has a decentralized ledger as opposed to my bank having my ledger and that kind of thing. We're almost there, right? How often do you use cash these days? Well, in addition, of course, then the other necessary difference between is that a dollar is backed by a federal government and treasury that's going to control inflation and make sure that you don't have the value of a dollar doesn't go so wildly that it really disrupts your ability to use it. But I hope that Bitcoin and other digital currencies doesn't become just associated with a digital beanie baby. It's a fad that got blown out very, very quickly by people who are just speculating and turning something silly. Because it's a very, very powerful concept. There are so many people even in the United States who simply don't have access to banking period. And the ability to have some of the power of what you're just talking about about having the ability to move money from one place to another quickly and instantly without a whole lot of transfer fees without a whole lot of having to sign documents and prove to somebody that you're that you have a legal authority to be inside this country and to have a job. It will allow these people to get jobs, get paid, pay their rent, pay utility bills, pay things like that without having to live on the fringes. And that's a lot of where a lot of the exploitation and abuse happens when you have people who are forced to look for whatever circumstance for another to live on the fringes. So it's as Connie said, it's early days. Hopefully these growing pains will shrug them off and it'll realize someone's potential to really help humanity. Yeah, I'll sharpen the attacks from the Bitcoin Bros because I'll get them. I am not. I am not against the technology. I think there's a lot of future in it. I agree with you and Connie both. We need education and there is at root, something really sensible about this. But right now, wild west makes it a little bit risky and dangerous. And I always makes me nervous to see all the advertising. All the hype around it because that's when I go, hey, calm down, come down. This is a get rich quick scheme..

In this slash briefing, we're going to continue on with the theme of cars that are now including Lexi in their infotainment systems earlier this week we talked about some other manufacturers. But today I want to tell you about the 2023 alpha Romeo toenail. I've seen some pictures of this car. It's actually quite nice looking. It's a compact SUV. And it has Lexi built in to the infotainment system. So as usual, you can do all the things that you normally would expect, ask for music, podcasts, audiobooks, and items to your to do list, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, you know all that stuff. It's a plugin electric hybrid and it also works with Apple CarPlay and Android auto. So lots of options when it comes to your voice systems. Something else that's kind of interesting about this one as well, which I'm fascinated by is that it comes with an NFT. For those of you that aren't familiar with that, it's called a non fungible token. It's a documented smart contract if you will that lives on the blockchain. And the purpose of this is to document all these service records for this car, which can not be changed because those records live on the blockchain, which is very interesting when it comes to the resale value of this car. Nevertheless, that is the news I've got for you today. It's all about the Alfa Romeo and Lexi built in. Tomorrow, I've got some other car and voice related news. And I want to tell you about a couple of skills and a really interesting app that I've been using with a new carved mine. So stay tuned for that. Talk to you tomorrow..

"The show instead a breaking news episode of the podcast day and three of our heavy hitters to weigh in and give us that comments on the news today. We'll be joined by jonathan noble luke smith and checkbook so leg talking about the announcements. But we all knew it was coming. But you never really know until it's a done deal. And that is that valerie bots will join the alfred formula one. Same twenty twenty two at the start of what. The swiss outfit says is a multi year deal with the fans. Departure from mercedes has been expected for some weeks now. A return to williams was on the counts before it became clear that his destination was indeed. Alpha may kimmy reichen ends retirements announcement. Last wednesday was the first in a series of pieces of the drive market puzzle to fall into place confirmation from mercedes. George russell will be joining the well. Championship team hasn't officially happened at the time of recording. But surely that's happening in due course maybe today or later in the week or both ask will be reunited at alfa romeo with the team principal. Fred visa now. He worked with him but iot and at three back in two thousand nine and ten g. p. three and twenty eleven. That's when he won the championship and despite the strong contribution of batas over the years the prospect of promoting russell from williams ultimately proved irresistible for mercedes and the team boss. Toto wolff with the austrian was involved in balsas acids management for a long time before conflicts of interest. Obliged him to step back but wolf has long stressed that he wanted to ensure that his former protege found new seat. Should russell be given the nod for the mercedes drive and said after boss assis move to alfred was confirmed that he would absolutely have deserved to stay in. Twenty twenty two. Let's hit from john luke and festival. Jbl on the podcast debate joining me to talk about the big news across the great artists ephron reports league smith and most sport dot com ephron editor. John mobile gents. What do we think about the moves that just happened. I kind of makes me think of the pretends to be shocked. Gift costa ronald asian media. Because the thing that's kind of everyone's reaction that way. It was for so many weeks. I think it's been pretty clear what's going to happen over the zandvoort weekend. Joe dresser revealed that he'd been told practice. Bob what he would be doing. Obviously both he and value both asked have been quite klay with our answers. They both kept saying that there was not an use to shabbir. That didn't mean that hadn't been decision types of wolf. He said that he had taken decision. But it wasn't the right time so announce it so it's been pretty clear which way the wind has been blowing by. Get it finally out in the open. Put an end. So i think the big drama of city season and i think Yeah pave the way for a new shop so both full volleyball tasse out for may and really exciting options. If george russell finally with that mercedes team thinking the a decision that makes sense for all camps really. George russell come and send his contract williams. It was clear he needed to do something. Different be somewhat different being a different competitive environment. If if his career was going to progress voice it just becomes a williams driver a such a thing that kind of forced the decision on mercedes vouchers had his had his time at mercedes is giving his all just hasn't clicked not necessarily all three his own fault. I think touchable said recently. That bad luck seems to be stapled to voucher potus steering wheel because he's had a lot of misfortune and like along the way but his wins pole positions his contribution to the team on the of confront of evolving there and i think titus comment about veltri deserving to stay. There would have been correct if there wasn't george russell sitting there needing to be placed in moved somewhere so An alfred says squad car goodell fit for veltri become a team leader. He gets his multi renews. Punish with fred vesa With twenty twenty two rules. who needs. Who's going to be who knows who's going to be quick. He's gonna be slow next year. Maybe some of these midfield teams gonna make a big jump and push towards the front. We will get shocked. Podiums in twenty twenty two so i think a satisfactory outcome everybody williams. Who's in for for both houses while app. He has taken that route to go down for mayor. Have off the most ideal. What was the thinking behind that particular. Move on his part because it's quite baker kifah out for isn't it is a great me for alpha mad Nothing fred adversaries. Being quite clear for while veltri was at the top of his list he knew is capable of when they worked together from the three in. Gp three He's now he's now a race winner in formula one. He's now understands. What a championship. Winning team how it operates what it does what the mindset is will the staffing levels alike the facilities alike and that can be invaluable for a team alpha mayor especially in this cost copyright where you're having to choose what your resources go Solving is very very good for him. I think with alfred mayor he. He gets a chance to completely new environment. There's no longer any kind of element or cessation. We've williams is not going backwards in his career. He's not coming back to where he started out in formula. One a clean break on a thing. We've not seen the full. Potential of alfred meyer. This year. that bad season last year we seen some good qualified illnesses and gm nazi especially in zandvoort lost. We can but this is a team that hasn't developed by car at all When i spoke to fred vassar recently. He was pretty clear. We are the of the past the only team that has not developed the car. One bit so in theory they should have fallen down the order Be stuck at the back but at delivering occasionally the surprise performances so with this extra resource to twenty two could they spring a surprise. It's a good environment full boss. I think that jon. He's in really good spot now..

"If you're going to tell me that this the whatever they call this race decides world championship. It's gonna be a problem especially on the mercedes side of things. But i'll digress on that and we'll go on move on to more positive things it. It is strange because the amount of loopholes in regulations that were exploited during that tussle patriots rates and the amount of regulations that we realized the f. I don't have in place to tackle something like this is something that does need to be. You know sushi. Look tall and also points Mikhail like marxist doctrine was given twelve in the Twelve and a half points. I think it is. It brings down his championship but brings him closer to lewis hamilton like while he did put in on saturday. Is there a case. Say that none of the drivers who score points actually deserved the point to go. Yeah i mean it's it's so odd that well for me the fact of stop and catch scotching to hamilton. I'm happy about it pretty much. Because i wanted to be as titus possible for as long as possible obviously but i can imagine teams like alfa romeo for example are going to be very disappointed by the fact that williams is basically now run away with the third last position on the on the team's findings now because there's no way unless we get something like this again with with another race maybe all of us are at the top than may be about other than that like. Yeah it's difficult to say. What about the points because yeah. They did put in the effort saturday. As should we then just wasted all and just called These the problem with the triple headers. You can't move the races really. I mean technically. I guess could have been an option to movie monday. There would have been time to get maybe get stuff to netherlands from. Belgium does not difficult at least geographically. But yeah it's something that they'll have to think about. And this is one of the big risks appropriately when considering future tripleheader in countries where we may have this kind of stuff that you have to completely push arise from one day to another if there is bad weather. Yeah i don't know about that. I mean as you know grigson very well if the if the championship is going to be decided to stop by less than four points or less than five points than these definitely some.

"It's incredible yeah. No i mean this this show had I mean i think it was sponsored by ferrari club so there's a whole section of like semi modern for his great. Yeah whatever yeah. There was a british section where there was more morgan's than i've ever seen in one place by twenty five morgan's And some old jaguar e type stuff. There's a brass era section where people were running their steam cars and doing all kinds of weird stuff The prewar american section was really cool and there was like a really An interesting like convertibles section in the back and there's a couple of those early retractable hardtops with the wonky mechanisms and rates stuff. Last time last time i went they had two cars really stood out. They had lasalle thirty four lasalle. Which was the companion brand new cadillac xtss. It was the first car that harley earl ever designed for general motors and it was just. It was orange. It was goes most stunning thing. Oh way was probably like coral orange right. Yeah it was. I was like what color is meeting. And then there was like two. I think of my actual favorite cars that i'll you know. I'll never be able to drive her own them. But the post-war alfa romeo six c oh yeah so there's the they're not as striking looking as the abc's but if you look at the interiors. And i just freak out like they are the coolest looking interiors the Right there forty eight second row down on the left. Yeah on yeah that type of thing. Twenty five hundred hot or the twenty. Six hundred's actually the hot one but for the next year but the the interior of these like i. Just oh yeah. Oh that was count. Proc- car the gray one. There count. i didn't know count. Tracy also had an alpha but he was a. There's a famous mercedes s. k. Far right up above wow full interior and if you can make a big enough but it's just not. It wouldn't be thirty nine. They're just there's something magical about those cars two of them and again for me. It's like a ten minute drive from my house to the show and and you know. I love pebble. I went to pebble awesome but the quality of the stuff on this lawn rivals and really impressive crazy. Yeah yeah such a cool show And and i. That's not quite it'd be. It'd be like a forty six to fifty. Yeah but anyways really really good good stuff. I can't recommend that show highly enough if you're in. La yes. september yes. it's the coolest show and christian. I took the doors and roof off the bronco to go there. Yes so what do you make of the bronco dude. I really dig the bronco. I mean I've got the two door Outer banks which is like the street won the street wider of the ford orban. Yeah i love the two or or the wheelbase. The turning radius like it's fabulous like it's a great city vehicle. Haven't tried to four door yet. i'd like to But this thing was great. And i climb in the back seat pretty easily Did you go off-road tomorrow morning we're going off but we haven't had the chance yet. Tomorrow morning we're going off road with two vehicles the outback wilderness. And the bronco you're going to Our yeah all right. So you'll be shocked in two ways you'll be shocked. At how great the broncos off like like i had the outer banks which again is on basically a street tire. Yeah it's on a seventeen inch seventeen seventeen inch seventeen fifty five. I just read this to fifty five sixty five seventeen. But it's not the bef g like Neo noor up right. Yeah but millimeters not inches. Thirty five sorry. Yes not thirty. But i i went off and i was like. Oh my god. This thing is legit also. I should point. This is the most important thing about broncos is in any mode doesn't in any bronco you can lock the rear. Excellent wheel drive Which means you just dumb stuff for no reason and like the wrangler you can on the the two thousand twenty one only rubicon so you can lock the rear excellent four high Or or too high but all the others. You can't do it. You have to be in four load off the just. Yeah so the broncos are hoon. I'm pretty sure the gladiator. I drove twenty twenty one. Gladiator twenty gladiator mahaffy's basically concord locked the rear diff- raptor and that. Yeah that's the mojave is basically rubicon rise. Stop it's only for twenty one and then You'll be shocked. Did how you're going to have to leave the subaru in the parking lot because it's not gonna make that first obstacle It won't i just just based on nothing other than Well some some work. We did christian cba reviewed it in like he was on like almost nothing and it was like spinning its wheels but also now really approach angles and the departure angles on that. You're going to twenty degrees twenty so you want to approach. I actually not try that trail in the try it. i mean. it doesn't make it past the first obscenity. Back up story. Yeah struggle. Because i did that in a toyota forerunner tr deep fro. And i had to literally forelo and then it would not go. And i had locked rear axle for the former hundred ago. Really yeah i i. The first section is crazy sexually steep. But it's just didn't sport no problems his way better than it should be noted. Good yeah it has. No reason to be is good but jessica. It's subaru is like oh. Johnny said a bench can't do that trail in a fucking outback wilderness. I jessica if you're listening. Dr. one dollar it does not get without. You could damage the body and figure out some alternate way to do it. I don't want to break it. Yeah we might need a run though. Because i think the low speed low speed with traction issues with the cvt. I've read that and it can struggle with that and my presents them all sorts of cvt. Let's go up to like seven thousand rpm. You'll have no torque smoke. The but again. I just think that approach angle like no way no how okay and the rest of the trail honestly like tough trail. Well even i took a g wagon wheel g. Sixty three at the offered. Pack whatever they call it which is bad ass but i scratched it. Yeah i scratched the Defender the no the Landcruiser not scratch the land cruiser. Going up there approach angle. That's a landcruiser has like a god. I should know there's thirty. Two degree approach angle. Things established like twenty and a half twenty so wrangler. You know thirty six or something. Maybe we should just film the outback on the dirt. Approach road the fire out and try it but if we make that the crux of the video the video you over thirty seconds. I drove the outback around today. On the street i liked it. Yeah i mean the new outback is like a pretty nice car. Seats are comfortable. they're great. I mean we just did a thing with the honda accord class of vehicles. We the legacy which is basically like a outback. That's not lifted and like. Oh make just a legacy. Yeah i was. I saw just a regular legacy but on the honda transcends the class the court is so good that it has no competition but for the other six cars like the cameras and whatever i thought the outback was second place at not. The back the legacy. I think actually came in third and are things. The key k. Five or whatever was ahead of it but they're very close but yeah the legacy is great. This thing has been is impressive. And just in the comfort level and that new engine subaru's putting an turbo motor. This has the term motor and then also the big screen for the money. It's like that's pretty thing is under forty thousand. That's a. It's a lot of car for under forty grand and remember what most people are not going to go and do that first. Obstacle rower flat right. They're going to go down a dirt trail and pitch at ten. It's yeah yeah it looks kind of a roof rack. That's like perfectly set up for For roof tent. Yeah yeah yeah so yeah. I'm pretty stoked on it. Actually it's you i. It's i'm excited to try it. I'm curious to find out what happened. Bronco we took the doors off in five minutes. It was really easy to take them off. And then you hit on my instagram. You're like wait. You try to get them back on right. So what's so hard about getting them back on. You know typical. Jose ford fashion. Where you know. They're they're very good at this one. Yeah they're very good boosting their positives Like they're like okay. What's the problem with the wrangler. And it's like well. There's there's three things you have to unscrew to get it off. They're like we're going to do it in two so it comes off easy. It is impossible to line the thing up and like if you had. I know people you could do it but the hot tip people could should be able to do it right. You can't because it doesn't have external hinges as internal hinges..

"This week was a big week. Not just for people who tin wanna watch swing at seven. Who are you. what are you doing here. But it's big week for a couple of drivers hoping to drive somewhere else. Next year. After the hungarian grand prix george russell was testing a mercedes in hungary in a tire test which is Makeup of what you will and also after you drive per share was driving for alfa romeo and we all know that firm mayor has to empty seats for next season. You know look this is this is the business end of the city season. Isn't it wolf really holds. The mazda voice wanted to hold a masticate to the whole drive of market because what he does is gonna influence. Where the survivable next. Yeah and he said he's going to make a decision during the break. George russell suggested may not be an answer during the break. But that just seems to be gratuitous. Doesn't it i might as well announce it when they decide which means that this is all this next couple of weeks is where all the action is going to happen. Just just on a different tangent. Your when he the name topol chair pronunciation that type who chaired. I only ever hear alex strikes voice. This is the this is. We know your name. He's synonymous in commentators voice like he would diving hill. Are they ever hear at amari. Walk voice. therapy chair. Are they ever hear alex voice. Yes and so it should be and i would always like that because that is the way it should be. Most of. these drivers should all arriving formula line. With the alex voice stamp of approval tacitly owning some percentage of their ip earnings. Presumably from here on in on him. I say you gotta you gotta you gotta get into that action. But he's potentially. He's certainly i think he's sixth. In the standings tarot not alex jake's he's not in the standings at the moment Which means look he's probably not highest on the but he's on the right uh somewhere because he's quite highly rated in fact the only had one he was three wasn't he knew he started racing in two part of the way through. He's after he campaign last year. I think you've memory saves. I don't remember a lot of things from australia. So maybe memory doesn't serve but anyway make of it. What you will have uncovered effect. Yes well it is except i. It's getting covered. It's just long lockdown affected. Suppose long yeah. That's long lock dam suffering tonight. It's town let's look at the drive a market as it stands and let's say what we think is going to happen mercedes. We know. they've got one space eight but has to save the moment. Red bull racing hasn't resigned sergio perez. Today i've got one alpha towery que. They haven't officially resigned. Pig as a new peace and order but that sort of an open secret in fact guys lease or help one of the year and he's contract so he'll be at either alpha tower. Your red bull racing. I guess we shouldn't necessarily take it for granted. We there williams has george. Russell seat unsigned at the moment. But nicholas the tv's understood to have another year and he's contract alfa romeo has no unsigned nexia. And haas doesn't yet have makes jamaica signed up at a suggested it's pretty much done deal pending ferrari side of the bargain. Karori might yet decide to put me macaroni for mayor so we don't know for certain although i think they do want to take it slow with him and then of course that means we've got a whole bunch of drivers out of contract couple who on racing at the moment nico berg daniel. Caveat and then causing formula to oscar piaster leading to at the moment from guangzhou catelli lot and rubbish was island ending to the series. But robert schwartzman is and that's sort of everyone on the f. one radar iran. At the moment. i've got a feeding to only a handful of sates but it all starts with what mercedes is gonna do. It does feel like this market is slightly slightly ever rided. Erica george russell. Hyler effect that we've got going on here because as soon as he is that does kind of a. I don't think this is the case but this very much the the blank second sailor. It bowl is i guess. In the instance in some kind of a failure of plate due diligence on this path and not twenty in the second. Say that the sadi's sure like red bull be bad to welcome with open arms. But i don't think that's going to be the case so basically it'll be well drop george russell. One of the worst kept drive a sacred in formula one history in recent years Mercedes and in. What's the rest of the dominos fall after that. But it's what's a bit of a backlog disappointingly as well a bit of a backlog of some really tell us as young drivers needing to make that next step into into formula one. You've got the obviously that you got the haas of sorry. The alfa romeo sates up for grabs personally a little bit done with iraq. In if i is sort of rates hade saturday up. Get out on that. it's of wrong. It'd be like it'd be likely channel saving doing ray of morning drive reunion. Not the same often applies much. Change them at time. Obviously something's yeah. We have peak music face when good morning. Israeli was last day. Of course referring to the week. It's a so you know the say situation. I think he's going to be the most. Is it going to be the second most interesting part of the draw for market. Because it's gonna be will they weren't i saw in. Jv nazi into that safe again as sort of a little bit taking. Leave it In that sense but Yeah it's it's gonna be pretty much who's going to be is going to be wind mercedes toward russell and then hurries effort. I have than the rest of it is just. We'll we'll say it's true. Because i really are only two seats on the greed. That are interesting because at least one of them is open. Right like kim european presumably. He's not going to be around. And potentially antonio juvenile although. I think you'll probably be retained. Nobody might be because you know. Yes joe address. Veltri boathouse might not be a straight swap because seems like he might go to alfa romeo but the swap on the insurgency. Apparently i guess you'll stay racing but it does mean that we've got these potential because it doesn't feel like happens. That often does it. They'd like sania driver. Like kimmy racket and moves on. And then you just have a new guy who may warrant the state hopefully someone who warns to save rather than someone walking up because they've got money but the people.

"Seventy seven points alpha towery six with sixty eight aston martin's got forty eight williams has ten points. Alfa romeo has three and haas has zero. What a great way to send us off into the month long summer break. Yeah pretty great. I was off on thousand City for race any overtaking. It was really good. Let's take it to the news. I did not end up catching the actual podium ceremony. Oh do scary. How we're yeah. Tell me about rob. No i mean like so hell like every driver seemed out of breath after the race but it was like hot. It was humid. You kind of expect that. But also i think we're also used to these guys like sort of bouncing back likely. They're they're incredible athletes. You know they you out of the car. They look completely gassed You see in five minutes later. They've they've successor. Recovered hamilton was having trouble speaking during the interview he was breathing so hard And then on the podium ceremony his body language was just all wrong He was desperately like Like slamming water But the thing that really scares shit out of me was a point where you know. They changed their hats On the podium. When he bent down he was just bracing himself in a pair beholding himself up on those ridiculous giant champagne magnums. They add like he was like using it as a basically impromptu Like crutch to keep from falling over and then got back on his feet and then during the whole part with they spray the champagne. He couldn't shake the bottle he just stood there like frozen on the third. Step of the podium Just sorta like rocking it back and forth and not moving like it was. He looked bad. He looked on while it was. It was alarming because it was like it was one of those things where you would see someone. You're seeing someone in distress. And that's kinda how it read and it appears that indeed. He wasn't distrust. yes danny. What is this article from autosport. Yeah so i guess the the shakeout from this is that there's a couple of quotes which point towards His battle with cove it last year and the quote here. I'm so exhausted. Afterwards it was one of the weirdest experience of the said. Hamilton who missed last year secure grand prix in december due to cove nineteen i real dizziness and everything. Got a bit blurry on the podium. I've been fighting all year really health. You know staying healthy after what happened at the end of last year and it's still a battle i haven't spoken to anyone particularly badische but it's been lingering i remember the effects of i trading's been different than send the levels of fatigue. You is different and it's a real challenge will continue to try and train and prepare the rest i can. Maybe it's i. I don't know but it's definitely not had. I've definitely not had that experience. I had something similar silverstone but this is way worse. See people are speculating whether or not this is the effect of quote unquote. What we have called calmed to known as long kovic which is the sort of general. It's quite a general vague term. Because it seems to encompass a lot of different types of kind of post cova health repercussions that people may have some people think that they have a sort of an underlying fatigue or issue. That feels like a sort of low low noise version of covert..

"Need to come up with a decent looking car. That's going to be fun and engaging drive and then you have to let people know that. It's actually there. I think alfa romeo has like one hundred and some dealers in the united states Hundred seventy one hundred eighty somewhere around there. I think the last time. I checked you. You need to get more representation out there alpha. You need to. You need to have places where people can go to look at your cars. I mean if if there's one hundred eighty that breaks down to what fifty an average of three or four dealers per states. And of course i mean i'm in south dakota there's no alpha dealerships in south dakota. I'd bet pretty. Sure there's none in montana wyoming and you know what i mean. That's that's a very rural area rightfully so but you need to have more representation. You need to be spending more money on advertisement on pr Even if it's just doing something with your existing model something interesting. You have a collaboration with some sort of influence or something to keep you in the new cycle. Bruce one is the last time we wrote an alfa romeo article that was sourced from alfa romeo directly. So i i haven't i haven't done one personally in the wild. I mean i'm only. I'm only part of the news team but i'm gonna look us up while we talk about it. The last one i remember would be like could the gt a. m. which was two years ago. So it's got to be more recent than that. I i would hope there's something more recent but the the marketing team that the pr people alpha. You need to be doing stuff to please keep your company's name in the minds of people even if you don't have new products coming out and it's really not that difficult to come up with something of interest and they're from. I mean that's where it starts. You have to remind people that alpha still here. They did a good job of that with julia. You said that was that was way back in two thousand seventeen. I still remember that commercial. Two thousand seventeen i mean. That's that's how steering it was but then it just all kind of faded away. So you need to focus ed to focus on that alpha to answer your question. The most recent official great the most official The most recent official alfa romeo news. We have is twenty. Twenty one alfa romeo juliet and stelvio lose trim levels in the united states and that is from december eighteenth of twenty twenty so now now but was that was that an announcement set out by alpha. I or was that just us seen. Okay hey the new models are out all they've dropped some trims official unofficial is headlined that story but it is an official alfa romeo. I mean we're still talking six months ago and the new six months ago was hey. We're cutting some models or cutting some dream so yeah not ideal you guys. You need to be doing You need to do what porsche does. I mean i mean how many times we see pitches from porsche. Just talking about some of their owners. Yeah with with some classic port. We know there are there are alpha owners out there who have brilliant stories to tell you need to be talking to those people you need to be reminding people the passion out and that's such a cliche for alpha right but you need to be reminding people of that passion that it exists. That's where it starts and then you need to be working on at least one or two interesting crossovers. One at least has to be fairly reasonably priced if you can get in and undercut. Bmw if you can get in and undercut mercedes with good-looking crossover that that has some excitement to it. And bruce your rights. There needs to be some electric development. It's going to be tough. Especially if if you're if you're kinda strapped for cash but you need to be looking at some partnerships make something happen there that would be my ten year plan. We need some crossovers. We need some electric vehicles. We need to maintain alpha's two seats sexy convertible still a fun car to drive. Maybe maybe the sports sedan goes on hiatus for a while. Because we know as much as i love them. We know the buyers are going elsewhere. I mean i mean how many year s suv's lamborghini sold versus versus anything else. So so that's my plan. It goes back to it. It reminds people. It's a pr marketing campaign really. No i think. That's i don't want to keep our entire second segment on alpha mayo. Even though i know unite could because there's also the whole issue that maserati exists so in the sta lantis lake hierarchy. It can't really go higher the maserati. Or you know. You can't have two brands within the same family competing against each other. I wouldn't even. I wouldn't even try to go higher. Their mouth herati right. But let's move on get out but hey thank you for that question. Such a great question. Yeah we could totally put a whole set. We just want to answer some questions. Yes that was a very good one was so i know you when you want to get to when i have one. I wanna hit real quick. You ever go ahead this person. I'm only going to say his first name. I'm sure you'll know who he is since he commented. Brad ass. Do you know what you're talking about and brad. I try to know what i'm talking about. I look up stuff for this show. I look up stuff every day for every episode we put out. I will admit that. I don't know everything about cars. I cannot tell you the available rear end differential ratios for a nineteen sixty eight mustang for every engine that was available but i know where to find it so no. I don't always know what i'm talking about. When i say it but i can usually find out where to get the right answer about it and as far as i have absolutely no idea what i'm talking about at all. Okay i think cars. I mean if i remember correctly you use your feet to spin them up to get them going right. There are two. There are two big rocks for that service wheels. One in the front one in the back. I really dig how you can go until his drive in places and get those brontosaurus steaks or whatever it is they are. I wear out my shoes all the time trying to stop the damn thing So i mean when it comes to cars. I i have absolutely no idea what i'm talking about and i. I wonder sometimes how. I made a twenty year career in the auto industry. It's crazy it's crazy but no thanks for bringing that up. We're gonna try harder to know what we're talking about. I got i got. I got nothing else i can. I can take a question here but see here. Somebody asked on youtube. I don't have the person's name here Does the ford maverick have a belt or chain driven cvt and you know i. I don't know exactly. Because i mean maverick is so new. I don't know if ford is doing something different. To the best of my knowledge. I believe four uses chain driven. Cd's that what they've done in the past. I can't say for certain. New maverick will have that. Same transmission. I would i would err on the side that the do because that's what they've done in the past i don't see ford having a plea different setup up for this but Be thanks for at least trusting. That maybe i know a little bit. What i'm talking about there on that question So i know you kinda looked up some stuff about this but someone asked us about comparing the maverick to the ford explorer. Sport trac yes. We actually had a few people end. I can't. I can't believe it didn't come up so i emailed this person back and i address it from one way kind of without the specs about it and the specific question was. Why didn't you compare the mavericks sport track and my reasoning. Was that a when we talk about cars..

"And some brand identification. And certainly pulling on the static heartstrings The one thing that i see missing from your plan and i hate to say this more than electric crossovers and suv's man you know another stelvio. But it's i mean other than that. I mean we're talking about a continuation series and a hell cat julia. That's money that needs to go into some exciting new smallish crossover. I hate to say it that has to go into some exciting smallish. Crossover i dig the continuation series Or even or even a newer version like you were talking about that's electric with dustin. Hoffman i mean doing all of that in a super bowl ad that would get so much attention but how far they've done super bowl ads right. Do you remember a few years ago. I think when the when the when the maserati ghibli knocked. I'm talking. i'm talking like a few years ago with julia. I thought they if i remember correctly. I mean we're talking right. I we're talking about two years ago. They were making a big deal out of that and then it seems like it just disappeared. So we're i would start with my ten year plan and of course this is based in the united states. You're right twenty. Seventeen for the julia. Your i mean. The was the last time you saw any sort of advertisement any sort of any sort of pr. Anything for alfa romeo in the united states. It's been a while. i think there are twenty seventeen. Which a commercial. I forgot so you can't sell even the best car in the world if nobody knows you had it. And maybe this is my marketing brain talking. But i'm going to look at vehicle lineup and maybe this isn't a ten year plan. But i'm going to look at vehicle lineup. Alpha still needs to have exciting beautiful cars out of alpha can ever afford to completely step away from a small two seat convertible..

"Let's get this campaign start at people. And speaking or convertibles we will i will be talking about the more in just a moment because now it is time to start answering some of your listener questions and some of these are a few weeks old. Some of these are just very very But we've gotten kind of a lot of comments. You were sick that one week some comments there and then there is last week and we got a lot of comments last week's episode so people a lot of people talk about maverick Yeah you know. I think rightfully so. It was kind of a kind of dropped a lot of jobs with the price. So and again we appreciate everybody Growing on the channel with us and your comments negative comments here in a few minutes. So darn darn right we are. We've been seeing all along. That's we're rambling about cars we want to ramble with other people because we love cars and you love cars. Let's all have a good time. So let's let's let's get going with our special rambling about cars fan episode. So this is a person he emailed the week. You were sick as always. We don't use names just in case people that want privacy issues so i'm entering the question and then you and i are going to go through it. I've been looking forward to this one. So here's the question. I skim through the titles of your older episodes. And i couldn't find any reference to alfa romeo my favorite movie fake or brand as you probably already know the new. Ceo philanthropist carlos Tavarez mentioned that the brand along with launch d. will be given ten years to prove their worth as it stands. The italian brand has announced more crossovers coming our way While some alpha exacts are dreaming about bringing them back names such as the g and doodo Without anything actually being. That's my question. Is this if you were office. Ceo where would you take alfa romeo as a brand. And what would you do to return them the profitability so to thanks to hear i. I don't know anything about alfa romeo's financial so. I can't say whether we would return to the prophet billion not secondly i am going to stick to that ten year living smith you and i have ten years to revitalize alfa romeo. I already have kind of a bit of a plan laid out. Do you mind if i go. I know gerrad ahead. I've been thinking about this too. It's it's a very difficult question to answer. I think and. I think we might each bring something different to the table. So maybe you. And i should run alfa romeo well. That's the thing. I wanted to mention that our mayo. If you're listening this is free advice from two minutes so Listen to us. Maybe so here we might. I'm gonna start. I take the current julia. This is a short term thing. You're only going to make a few of these. We're going to start short term. And then we're gonna move longtre short-term take a julia show of the hell cat in it and sell fifteen hundred of a. Wow that'll get you immediate. Press like i mean yes. I if all ron you've held cat all the things right so to understand alphabet is part of stolen says that's fca an cujo trend. So we kind of have to work with what's available. We know the julius there we know the hell cats there we only have. We only have ten years here. Shove one in and put it out just to get some good press cat to you announced that you are going. This is going to be a big press conference. You announced that you are going to do a continuation special of about two hundred fifty. Maybe five hundred units of the nineteen sixty. Six spider do eto And for any of our youtube viewers. You'll be seeing that now. A perfect julia. There and julia yet and here is the data. So we're gonna do just like jaguar has done recently. We're gonna do an exact replica of that. During the same press conference you're going to announce this is the past of alpha mayo and we're bringing it back. But the future of alfa romeo is an electric. Do eto and what you're going to do Alpha male is that you are going to take the platform underneath the maserati mc twenty since you all belong to the same company we know that an electric version of the mc twenty is coming. You are going to put your own body panels on this and that will be the new duet For our viewers right now so that search trap yet so that will be the the monocoque underneath that will be your new. It will be electric you then rate whatever size check is necessary to dustin hoffman and you do a A super bowl ad in which you recreate the scene from the graduate in that he's driving his duets but instead of running out of gasoline and to run to the chapel he just drives up picks up mrs robinson. Or not mrs roberts. Mrs robinsons daughter puts her in the car and drive away. That's your super bowl at you have now revitalized interest and excitement about alpha male. Unfortunately for everyone out there and unfortunately for me. The future of automobiles is electric. I don't necessarily love it. I i still have a passion for internal combustion but i also see the future so from there. All future alfa romeo's need to be electric. So what you've done is you've established you got this. Hell cat julia up. You've got discontinuation of special dws zero but this new electric duet out. That's your start and from there you just really use the old names and put them on modern. Abc stick with your julia. You haven't julia jean. Which is a step underneath. That you don't really have what you've got that jeep thing stick with the stelvio and just kind of build from there. But maybe i don't have a ten year plan for your offer mail. Admit that now that i think about it. But i've got a five year plan for you and i at least got a five year plan where people are going. Be excited to see what you do. And you've got gotta take it from there. So that's my alpha male plan. Well i gotta say bravo for going in the direction of some.

The number four carmaker buy cars sold in the world which is big. But let's get back to that making money thing shall we the automaking business right now. Now is expensive. Consumer demand for autos is soft from North America to Europe to China. They're global trade tensions since and says Garrett Nelson CF RA research. Automakers are really looking for a way to increase their scale to share the enormous cost associated. Did it with electric and autonomous vehicle. Carmakers now have to make massive investments in research and development and engineers says Carla Baillaud at the Center for Automotive Research to produce for both the current and future market an internal combustion engine many times hybrid and now many any customers are demanding a pure electric. Then there's the vehicle of the future is brain. The software says Ned Hill at the Ohio Manufacturing Institute. A two and that's the autonomous driving systems. FCA's Tornado Inline-Six Engine Rumor Comes Back Into Focus
"If you've been paying attention to mow par news recently. You've probably heard the same disturbing rumors that I have and that's that. FCA is going to be killing the five point point. Seven heavy in the Pentastar V. Six to make room for a new engine that they're calling the tornado. This engine is rumored to be a derivative of the current turbocharged the charge four-cylinder found in Alpha males and upon its release. It's supposed to be found in S. Rt Vehicles Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Now you're probably asking. Is there physical evidence. Yes some Mo- par sleuth some Sherlock Holmes found. A schematic a technical drawing that shows this engine and apparently it was found on the US PTO which is the United States Patent and trademark office and basically what happened was FCA filed the patent on the design of this engine. So whether smoke there's fire folks so this this may be true after all some numbers that are being thrown around when it comes to. This engine are a single turbo version. Standard that comes with three hundred sixty horsepower there will also be a high performance version that is twin turbocharged with five hundred and twenty five horse. Power I don't know what will be in between those two the numbers but that's pretty impressive. So currently the Pentastar v six I think is around three hundred horsepower and this new inline six starts at three hundred hundred and sixty plus. It's boosted so this is getting interesting so we'll see what happens apparently it's going to be using. FCA's new technology. He called E.. Booster e booster technology. I don't know anything about it. I haven't done research to speak on it but I WANNA do some research and dig up some facts apparently So from what I gathered the booster technology is basically a way that they've come up with to reduce turbo lag electronically that's all I know. Oh and that's barely anything so take my word with a grain of salt now if you have the same mindset as me. You're probably thinking at first when you heard this rumor at first you're probably like they're killing off the five point seven. Hemi what are they doing. But I mean when you look at that I number that three hundred sixty horsepower. Think think about the power output of five point seven Hemi and then maybe you're GonNa Change your mind a little bit because guess what you know with the five point seven Hemi gone. That's okay because we still have these folks relax. We still have him as they haven't gotten rid of him yet. And maybe the idea of a turbocharged inline. Six sex isn't so bad after all because you know when it's all said and done we still have the six point four three ninety two and we still have the six point two supercharged. Tammy's so you know I don't think it's something to be too worried about. I think a new platform to play with would be a lot of fun especially when you start talking talking about boost. There's a reason why so. Many people are turbo charging and why they're utilizing superchargers to build power because they do

It could up end entire industry automaker Chrysler maker of Jeep Dodge Ram and Alfa Romeo vehicles proposed just such a merger to Renault last week. The offer comes after Fiat Chrysler spent years courting other potential partners, including Ford, Volkswagen, and even General Motors. Should the deal go through, it would make the merged company, the third largest automaker in the world following Toyota and Volkswagen? Currently General Motors holes that third-place lot Fiat Chrysler, is seven, the story is a dramatic when almost fit for a movie it involves the son of Italy's richest man, the arrest of a CEO, the death of another and even the president of France now, bear with me here while I untangle it for you. Fiat UC used to be enormous at one time it produced up to seventy percent of all of Italy's cars, its, owner was Playboy's, Yanni Anneli, who was so wealthy in powerful. He was considered the uncrowned king of Italy. According to the Wall Street Journal in nineteen Ninety-seven and yell. He's twenty one year old grandson, John Elkin joined the family business, but FIU, had weakened considerably by two thousand three Fiat was in enormous debt, then Johnny Ellie died, leaving the young L. Con in charge of an ailing empire Elkin convinced his family to increase their investments and bailout Fiat. He also hired a new CEO Sergio Marchi ONA who turned the company around in twenty eleven Fiat was strong enough to acquire the bankrupt Chrysler although successful Marchiani had a reputation for being a brutal negotiator, a reputation that quashed potential mergers, he died last year leaving the diplomatic Elkin in charge. And that opened up the merger possibilities. Meanwhile, Renault has had its own share of drama Renault his long been in an alliance with Nissan, but that alliance has been shaky since the Japanese arrested alliance. EEO Carlos Goan last November on suspicion of financial crimes Goan has denied the charges. Fiat executives say the two companies would share infrastructure and technology, but would not close plants or fire workers, French in Italian unions would have protested layoffs. The Wall Street Journal reports France owns a fifteen percent stake in Renault. The proposed merger is so delicate that Renault ran the idea by French president Emmanuel Macron, mccrone gave his blessing. Renault has responded to yachts bid with interest. The deal comes at a time when every major car company is developing, or already selling electric vehicles, and many have autonomous cars in the lab or on the drawing board carmakers need billions of dollars to develop driverless vehicles one factor prompting off. Oh, exacts to combine their resources. But analysts say a global marriage this complicated could take a year to put together and some observers warn that what looks good on paper can be extremely hard to pull off after all merging technologies is one thing merging personalities and cultures.
