"Clearly, this is not an open platform, and we should go and use every single tool of the law at our disposal to rip these guys to shreds to rip their platforms to shreds. Well, there a private company don't care sort. They're sort of a private company. Yeah. They're sort of. But there were provisions of the law to protect platforms there different provisions of the law for publishers. The laws is murky all shallows are clear, but the law is murky, and we should go in there and go after them because this is a warning shot for twenty twenty. That's what this is all about. This is why conservatives are being kicked off of these platforms. This is why an Alexandria Casio Cortez parody account was taken off of Twitter yesterday a parody again. It said it was a parody. It said it was unaffiliated with Alexander ocasio Cortez. It labeled itself. Very clearly it was taken off. Meanwhile, plenty of Donald Trump, parody accounts still allowed to exist. Why was the one taken down because it's become pretty popular had about eighty five thousand followers. So they have to take it down and this warning shot. Don't forget the year is twenty nineteen presidential election isn't twenty twenty. And what they're doing is. They're saying what happens if we take away this kind of funny parody account. Are they gonna move or they're gonna? What happens if we take away this conservatives account? What happens it can we take away this not conservative, but kind of right wing, and he's pretty objectionable. And we okay. What have we take away? His are people going to do anything to stop us? And what this is becoming an in-kind contribution to Democrats what this is becoming as a platform for the promotion of Democrats in political campaigns. And if we don't fight back now, we're going to find ourselves at a severe disadvantage in twenty twenty. Speaking of political fights, speaking of war, the Dow has been dropping five hundred points today under a trade worth because President Trump is ratcheting up tensions with China in this trade war that we're engaged in. We will analyze the case for protective tariffs. Basically. No conservatives are defending tariffs. I would like to make the case for tariffs. Because I I'm not saying that we need to have economic protection a not saying free trade is a bad thing. But I think conservatives have become very idiological. They've allowed ideology to blind them on this question of tariffs. And there are plenty.

"I gave way poor better. What happened Abeto? I bet always just this had the happen guy loses Senate race in his said to be one of the front runners for the democrat presidential nomination. Let's see Tulsi Gabbard a why and Julian Castro former HUD secretary, John Delaney Kirsten gillibrand Michael Bennett between one and two percent. Tim Ryan democrat, Ohio, Andrew Yang Marianne. Williamson. Jay inslee. Eric swale will Amy klobuchar governor John Hickenlooper, and Wayne mess him the mayor of Miramar Florida receive zero percent. No respondents expressed support for Representative Seth Marlton, democrat, Massachusetts. A former Senator Mike gravel democrat, Alaska. Four percent of respondents named somebody else. But that's that's one thing. What happened did Bernie get in trouble with his proposed reward for murder? And terrorism by suggesting they be able to vote. I mean, this birdie. That's the thing. Bernie Sanders literally owned the democrat progressive movement. Now, what has happened here because plugs plugs is not gonna come in and take away their progress? These people have to be abandoning crazy, Bernie rather than being excited about plugs. So what had birdie do? If you heard about Alexander ocasio Cortez. You people who have never lived in New York are not going to understand this. She had no idea. What a garbage disposal was. They're not Wiegel in New York. You know, why the trash union if you get rid of your trash and garbage disposal? There's less trash to pick. I discovered this. I moved to New York in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight and there's no garbage disposal. What the hell is this? What are you doing? Well, you put it in a trash bag. You take it out in the Trent. Are you kidding? What's going to stop the ranch from getting nothing? Also. That's why there's a vermin. Yeah. No garbage disposals to protect the garbage union in part. There's another stated reason with all the high rises. That's a lot of pipes to get governed up by people putting the wrong things into this both anyway. So Cortez moves into her palatial digs in Washington. And there's this switch by her sink. And she doesn't know what it is for. She turns it on thing starts going nuts on her starts making his gigantic rackets on my what's this the tiller. It's garbage disposal. She had never heard of one. She had never seen a garbage disposal. I gotta take a break into saw the clock here, folks. But sit tight because we are continuing right? You're listening.

Anyway, twelve years Alexander ocasio Cortez. What's what's in it for Boeing to fix this airplane? They're not going to be flying in twelve years. She's going to get rid of them. Come on rushed. I know they do because liberals are not thinking and reasoning individuals. Agenda. They have is hideous. And all of these are just tools to get them. The leadersh- leaders of liberalism where they want to end up going. But it's it's. It's it's asinine when you actually stop and just think about it for five minutes what they are saying. In fact, let's grab sound bite number thirteen is Beto O'Rourke and his campaign announced when he was in keokuk, Iowa and an audience member QNA said, what are your thoughts? What are your thoughts on a green new deal, we face catastrophe and crisis on this planet, even if we were to stop emitting carbon today right now at this moment. This is our final chance, the scientists are absolutely unanimous on this that we have no more than twelve years to take incredibly bold action on this crisis. Do you want to make it? So some criticize the green new deal for being too bold or.

"Back. This is Sebastian Gorka on America. I saw. Abraham Lincoln's birthday yesterday is the birthday of perhaps best off to Washington perhaps best president the most consequential one in terms of liberating those enslaved in our nation. What would he have to say? What would he have to say about politics in America today? That is the question. We look we have a reality in which there are those who wished to return to the founding principles and those who wish to remake this station in their own image. And that is. Part and parcel of Alexander ocasio Cortez is green deal, perhaps the best article. I've seen today's since last Friday of the unveiling of what I call or Cossio Cortez's watermelon. And why is it a watermelon because it's green on the outside it tries to look green. But on the inside it is deep deep red. It is of course, a socialist plan. My Salem colleague, Hugh Hewitt has a piece of the Washington Post today, entitled what we should ask the Democrats about of the green new deal, and I'm just going to lift three of three or four of the key questions that my friend, Hugh posits, we should be asking all Democrats, especially those who are on the front line who have endorsed ocasio Cortez is. As you know, the original green, you deal appear to call for the end of cows. So how did the Democrats envisaged this taking place? How will Catalonia's be compensated? What will happen to the dairy industry? What is the impact on the GDP and unemployment of wiping out cows is their technological response to the cow problem identified bio Cossio Cortez in the green new deal. Can you describe the impact the the questions go on and on and on? But now, I'm very excited to be able to welcome. My other Salem colleague Metaxas. Are you with us? I'm with you, sir. It's it's funny to talk about cow thoughts and how we're going to ban Fahd's, but it's a much more serious thing is into the green new deal. Metaxas. Isn't just about the flatulence in the dairy industry is well, first of all I am now calling it the raw deal, of course, Ross food is usually green. But if there ever was a raw deal for the American public. You couldn't make this up. We all know that it's very tempting merely to joke about it. But we have to understand that this is a deal. It's been no in in the camel's nose in the tent to make the country, not just socialist. But practically communists, you're going to have a situation, which is social engineering on a scale that has never been done. And the reason I say that Sebastian is I think we Americans have been so blessed, we cannot even imagine anything like this. But there have been people. Around the world, you know from your background in Hungary. I know from my mother's background in east Germany when the communist naked decision to take over a country. They don't advertise it we're gonna make you slate. They don't advertise. We're taking away your freedom couch it in winsome language, and they talk about empowering us and freeing us from fossil fuels. But the reality is that if we do not call this what it is which is a raw deal that's going to take away freedom. We will be to blame because they will institute every part of this that they can get away with just as Obama said what he had to say to push through another raw deal. They will push through whatever they can take more and more control away from the American people. This is a tremendously draconian proposal, but let me let me read to you one quote to prove just this is just one element. This is direct quote from Cossio. Is green you deal. We will quote upgrade or replace every building in the US for state of the art energy efficiency Hewitt, college colleague, asks the following in his article in the Washington Post, what will happen to people who say, no, thanks. My house is up to code or I like my cows. Well in mouse, China in Stalin's Soviet Union. We know what happened to these people. Correct, eric. Well, that's the whole point where do you go if you do not comply with each edict? You said only will lose your freedoms. And that's what they're not going to advertise. But it follows logically. It must follow. So what does this tell us about the democrat party of a of a more radical than before? Eric of a preaching to the fringe. Or do we think that the fringe has taken over the middle? Well, look, there is no question that they are basically destroying themselves. Because what they have always done is. They will get in bed with the sexy. Liberal friends, whatever they say, we're four at at some point. And we are now at that point. It is reductio ad absurdum. It is the snake swallowing its own tail. It destroys itself. They feel they do not have the courage to speak up for any principles. If you speak up for principle. You'll be called a bigot. If you talk about anything, you'll be called the biggest. So they're forced to go further and further left. No one in the party has the guts. This is the beauty of it. No one in the party has the guts to speak up. You'll find people on the outside like, you know, the former head of Starbucks or maybe somebody like Bloomberg will will make a few noises, but they're moving in this direction. In lockstep, and they're destroying themselves. But we have to understand that. If we don't take it seriously, many of them will push forward. They will take away our freedoms. And I promise you, what's really happening. Sebastian Sebastian is we're seeing a second civil war in America were maybe it's the second revolution. Where if the people do not understand tyranny when they see it if they don't understand that they're facing tyranny. This is nothing that bureaucratic tyranny. This is George the third on steroids could take away all of our right? If we don't recognize it and fight against it. And have a second rebel American revolution to take back our freedom. We will be to blame. It's very serious. Well, that's a daunting prospect to for us to consider on on. What is Abraham Lincoln's birthday today. Another question we could ask you on the listeners. Do you think that this is the beginning of a potential civil war? If they wished to take from us. Motorcars if they wish to ban. Jet Propulsion and the use of planes, if they think that cows somehow now, the new existential threat to America, and that your house must be if it isn't up to code if it isn't green enough if it doesn't have a small enough carbon footprint, your house will have to be demolished and rebuilt. Otherwise, you are not in compliance with ocasio Cortez's new green deal or as my guest. Metaxas calls it the new raw deal what will happen to you. Let's get your calls. Eight three three three three Gorka. That's eight three three three three four six seven five two. This is nothing more.

"I got an Email emails, but I got an Email like Saudi male during the break cannon intriguing subject line. That's how I. The upshot is of somebody said, Mr. Limbaugh how many times? Over the course of all the years of your program. Do you think that you have explained how trickle down economics and tax cuts? One. That was a good question. And I began it has to be at least one hundred times I have gone through. What I went through in the last half hour, I've gone through it one hundred times and more. I mean, I've explained more that was tailored to the specifics of New York and Cuomo's. Problem, but the concept of how tax cuts result in economic booms, which is not an opinion. It's fact as demonstrated by the American economy, I must've explained easily one hundred times. Over all these years. The point the emailer was making was one. I made that it just doesn't seem to hold people don't seem to really grasp and even when they live through it, even when the knee jerk reaction by now ought to be that if somebody starts talking about seriously, reducing taxes people automatically applaud because of the resulting economic activity. Now, you reach a point where you can't do that. I mean, you can't raise lower taxes zero for example. Because every time taxes are cut. They creep back up top marginal rates, not Twenty-eight percent. Like it was in one thousand nine hundred nine when Renauld as Magnus left office. It's now thirty nine resit creeps back up there. So you know, what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna attempt before we move onto other things I'm going to attempt here to explain marginal tax rates. Because I saw this. Crazy attempt at doing it on one of my tech blogs. Some tech wiz was trying to justify Alexandria, Cossio Cortez claim taxing the rich would work and that it was morally fine and should be done. So this guy being a groupie for Cortez came up with the video to explain to other brain dead. Millennials Wia seventy percent tax rate wouldn't hurt. Anybody? All right. I'm gonna make up numbers here. I'm not going to use the actual tax brackets because I don't have those actual brackets in front of me. And I'm just gonna I'm gonna pretend that they're five tax brackets. That are easy to remember. And we'll do it at a bunch of different income levels. So we will say that the tax brackets are from zero to fifteen thousand dollars income tax rate is ten percent. Forget whether this is actually real do. Not get distracted enough doesn't show fair. That's not the point here. Let me write this down sort of zero. Zero to fifteen K is ten percent. And then we'll say sixteen k to twenty five K is thirty percent. And then we'll go twenty six K to seventy five K is forty percent. And then we'll say seventy five k plus is. Fifty percent now these are not real. But what it means is if you earn one hundred thousand dollars, we're talking gross here. The first fifteen thousand of it is taxed at ten percent. Not fifty just because you're in one hundred doesn't mean you're paying fifty percent of it. You're paying on the first fifteen thousand you pay ten percent. Then on the next ten thousand you would pay thirty percent. And then between twenty six thousand and seventy five thousand one hundred grand you would pay forty percent. And then the margin anything over seventy five thousand dollars you'd pay fifty percent. So your your number at seventy at fifty percent would be twenty five thousand dollars, for example. If you're in a hundred grand and anything over seventy five thousand is taxed at fifty percent. Then the amount you make over seventy five thousand is twenty five thousand so only twenty five thousand of your income is tax fifty percent. Now, the marginal rates can go much higher. Okay. So Cortez is talking ninety thousand after you've made a million or what have you? And the. In the old standard tax code. There were all kinds of dead duck and shelters you could use to keep you from ever getting to that top marginal rate, there's the standard of so actually zero to fifteen is zoo, which is a standard deduction is twelve grand for single. So actually, the first fifteen thousand you're only you're you're you're paying ten percent of three thousand instead of fifteen thousand there's all kinds of deductions thrown in here. But the point of the marginal rate, you've heard people say that it's the last dollars. You earn the top marginal rate only applies to that portion of your income. At the at the top of the income bracket threshold. So when you hear about, except there's an exception now. If and I think it's a million, but it might be a little higher now. But if your gross income for the simple, simplicity of the gross incomes a million dollars. You do pay fifty percent of everything or whatever the top marginal rate is you would pay you wouldn't only pay. Ten percent on the first fifteen thousand in an only thirty percent on the next ten thousand you would just get stock because they've that that's been part of the self the rich plan. And people have not I didn't learn about marginal tax rates anywhere in school. I didn't learn I had to teach myself about them. I would read about them in the news. And I would hear the Wall Street Journal, but happily described the other marginal tax rates the tax rate in the last dollars. You were and what did that mean? Okay. So if I if I earning twenty thousand a year than what didn't apply to me because I wasn't earning. Up to the threshold where the top marginal rate would even be applied. But the point that they were trying to make an referring it to it that way is that not all of your income is subjected to the highest tax rate, except now it is if your income is seven figures, and I don't know what the exact figure is now it was a million. You didn't get the benefit of any. And then and then there's the Medicare tax, and then there's the Feick attacks. I've not even talked about any of this. But these are just federal income tax rates now governor Cuomo was talking about this. This business here of the state local tax deductions and. And what have you? But the top one percent in New York pay forty eight percent of the entire New York state. Income tax burden and the rate is around twelve to fourteen percent. But that then has to get added to what their federal rate is. And then what their payroll tax rate New Yorkers at the top. Here are easily well over and California's to well over sixty percent of their gross goes to taxes. And that's why you can't just say that it's because of New York along that they're leaving. Although New York alone is getting to be justification for leaving and people are leaving because of New York alone. But when you have all these other taxes up. In the New York. You've got easy pass. They tax you when you come into the city tax, you when you leave the city, they tax you if you park in the city, they tax you if you open your eyes in the city, they tax you if you sleep in the city, if you stay in a hotel, you better hope that some corporate entity is paying for on an expense account. The these taxing authorities. These these people that run governments have acted like there's no end to money at the upper end of the scale, the rich are always going to have enough that we can soak them, and they're still going to be able to buy their yachts. And they're still going to have a mansion in the Hamptons that are going to have a condo on Fifth Avenue. And we're going to have a yacht somewhere down at Saint BART's. They've always believed this that no matter what they do. The rich are going to sit there and pay it because it's such a privilege. To be a success in New York. Well as governor Cuomo is finding out people are fleeing and it's not just the yacht. Rich. I mean. There are people who are being taxed into oblivion who don't make a million dollars a year in New York. And those are the people that are leaving. Not the people that have a home in the Hamptons and a home on Fifth Avenue, and then maybe a condo at a high rise on central park south. And then they on one of the buggies that takes horse trips through central that bunch of people is really not even Cuomo's target. It's people that are not in that bracket. But do qualify when liberals start doing the categories as rich. They're the ones that are picking up and fleeing the problem with that is that the people fleeing or a bunch of left wing socialists, and they're infesting places like the Carolinas and Texas, and they're taking their liberalism, and they're moving down to all these places so much better off than where they're leaving. When they get there. They start implementing their same destructive, liberalism that caused them to leave and they start voting for people are going to do the same things that happened in the states. They're leaving. Talk to people in North Carolina, Texas, Florida Kentucky. Or lease all these the snowbirds that northerners moving in. It's why a lot of these states that used to be reliably red or turning purple and blue. It's amazing. Not even they those fleeing their own governments. End up setting up the same kind of government from which they fled. Alexandria Casio Cortes. This is something that we're gonna have to put up for a while. I don't know how long it's going to be. But I'll tell you this. There will be a day. Where the bottom is gonna fall out on this on this woman, and it's gonna be because the media made her. What do you mean rush? She ran for office. Chew gum. Yeah. Yeah. I know I'm not taking that away from her. But it's the media that's made a singular member of congress into now the face. Of the democrat party. The media has built this woman up and promoted this woman in created this massive star about whom there's all this curiosity. She hasn't done that on her own. And she's not spouting anything that any other card carrying socialists hasn't ever said or proposed. There's nothing unique about Cortez other than maybe the fly like eyes, and the fact that she was a bartender. They get on Trump for being an outsider. But so a she, but she's on the right side of the insiders now that she's in there. But one day one day it's going to happen. And I wouldn't be surprised if Pelosi is eventually behind one day. They're going to pull the rug out from under this woman. And she's not going to know what happened. Her Twitter followers are going to abandon her be impossible to say when this is going to happen. But it will. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is there is a story in the daily caller about Alexander ocasio Cortez comedy members, congress, do you think go visit schools every now and then and have periods of time where they talk to the kids to career days answer questions pretty common thing, right? Well, she just did it and it's made national news. New york. Representative Alexander SEO Cortez visited a school in New York Monday where she answered the teenagers question about what they could personally do to fight global warming in response Alexander Neo. Gus y'all Cortez told them not to use disposable razors. She told them to skip do not eat meat or dairy. She suggested shopping at thrift stores. Instead of malls and big department stores big grocery stores. No thrift stores Bodega is she suggested lots of walking lots of biking, lots of public transit and to carry around a permanent, grocery bag and permanent coffee mug. And if the students would do that they might be able to save the planet from becoming on the inhabitable in the next twelve years. Christiana figueres. They former head of the UN's climate programs suggested restaurants in ten to fifteen years. Start treating carnivores the same way that smokers are treated if they want to eat meat. They can do it outside the restaurant. And guess he'll Cortez is endorsing this. As as well. So that's what she told them. It makes national news. It's literally, it's it's lunacy. It's gonna mean, absolutely nothing. But that don't tell the kids that you'll ruin it. I wanted to say the planet. My parents have destroyed the planet. My parents are driving big. Here's how you doing kid and the kids that become loyal soldiers and followers in the church of ocasio cook that I can take quick time out. We'll be back. We will continue after this..

"So the Democrats have obviously moved at a really radical direction and. That bodes a little Democrats if Trump could reach out to those moderate swing voters. The question is how he's going to do that over the next couple of years when politics has become rock them sock. Them robots. Alexander ocasio Cortez's become a heroin among Democrats specifically because she is deeply in the fight mentality. Is becoming a hero among Republicans because he fights. Well, the same thing is true. Democrats the more they fight the more difficult for Trump to come across the aisle and make any sort of moderate proposal both sides are doubling down on their base. The question is which side is more alienating. So what should President Trump do at? This point. The truth is President Trump should just go silent. That'd be his best political move. He should let the Democrats be as crazy as they wanna be you should let the Democrats be as radical as they wanna be. He should let all the Democrats keep talking because when the Democrats talk they look bad. This is what we learned during the Justice cavenaugh saga last year. When Democrats are out front with their proposals Americans don't like those proposals. It is only when the water's muddy when suddenly Democrats aren't taken at face value because they're running against Trump that their approval rating goes up if you polled ocasio Cortez's positions across the board. It'd be deeply unpopular in the United States. There's a poll that shows today that seventy percent of Americans support or something like a majority of Americans support her seventy percent top marginal. Tax rate. That's because it hasn't been explained properly in the polling question if you said to Americans that top marginal tax rate would be broadly extended to most Americans, which is what her spending proposals would require then the policy drops radically class warfare is always popular, but her version of class warfare would quickly devolve into everyone making above sixty grand extraordinarily high taxes that stuff is not popular among Americans. Well, money's the water. Is that President Trump says things? In a second. We'll discuss this a little bit more. I we need to talk about your shaving habits. So there are a bunch of shaving companies out there, and they've all been promoting woke causes this week. Not Dollar Shave Club Dollar Shave Club has everything I need to look feel and smell my best. But I love even more is the fact that I never have to go to the store. That's because number one delivers everything I need directly to my door. Number two. They keep me. Fully stocked and what I use. I don't run out. Here's how it works dollarshaveclub has everything you need to get ready. No matter what you're getting ready for. They have you covered head to toe. Fair hair your skin your face, you name it. They've got it. And they have a new program where they automatically keep you stocked up on the products, you use your determine what you want when you want it. "Different take. I mean, no slightly. I I blame I blame political more than I blame the Democrats here. So if you walk all around congress, I was there last week, and I spoke to their foreign thirty five members. I mean, I probably spoke to one hundred and fifty of them asking them questions about what was going on how they were feeling Democrats elated Republicans realistic and whenever I asked about Alexander ocasio Cortez. I said what was what was it like with Alexandra? Oh, Cossio Cortez in the caucus every single one of them that I spoke to said, it's amazing. It's so exciting. It's thrilling there's this vibrancy there's this vitality. If you ask if I were to ask harassed any of them off the record does her being there do this. They're going to answer. So if you go in writing an article light, this exasperated, Democrats, I could write it tomorrow. I could go to congress and find that I also go to count. And so I and and I don't mean this as any. Respect to Emanuel cleaver. But he's easy. If by the time you've gotten to Emanuel cleaver, there are a lot of congress people that have not gone on the record with you. If you're writing a story like this. So I I don't I don't disagree that that this is ridiculous article. And it's a ridiculous thing to say. And but I felt nothing palpable. Like that though, I know that if I had gone out looking for this article will among four hundred thirty five people, you're gonna find a handful that would say, whatever you want them to say super interesting, Michael. And I and I like slight role reversal here. We're defending politico. But, but I have a sense that that some of these Democrats went to politico. I maybe you're right. I don't. I know there were hordes them looking for the story. I think. Yeah. But but they found it. And so, and I love the context that Michael is giving, but so let's just keep going on the coast because I think the quotes are telling so John on a few up. So the first is you mentioned there's a lot that haven't gone on the record political understands why they didn't go on the record at least some so far. Most of them have kept their criticism of Akasa Cortez private fearful, she'll sicker massive following on them by firing off a tweet. I choose distant for a lonely ineffectual career. That is interesting and one anonymous House Democrat said she needs to decide that she'd want to be an effective legislator or just continue being Twitter star. There's a difference between between being an activist and a lawmaker in congress. There's one more. I want to read the response from Alexandra Cortes to this story. She says to quote, Allen more. None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me. I hadn't seen that. God. I love you. So good. Okay. And I believe that that perhaps they do understand that because another senior democratic gains said, quote, people are afraid of her. Yes. Something about that. Because in the beginning, it's a direct quote from a democrat..

"Alexandra Okaz has the new face of the Democrats. I didn't choose her people. It's not my fault. I'm talking about her you all chose her in the media. And then you wind when we discuss her actual, stupid ideas. So Alexander ocasio Cortez puts out this plan. And then she's asked he's on sixty minutes. Remember, she is new face. The new face. Not my fault you picked her morons K. So she's the new face. Okay. So she, and here's what she says she has asked. So how are we gonna pay for all of this her answer? Of course, is we're going to raise taxes massively on the rich. Here is her dumb answer again, much better a dancing than economics, Alexandria, Okaz. Of course, as as sometimes you see tax rates as high as sixty or seventy percents that doesn't mean all ten million dollars taxed at an extremely high rate. But it means that as you climb up this ladder, you should be contributing more. Would you are talking? They're just big picture is a radical agenda compared to the way politics is done right now. Do you call yourself a radical? Yeah. You know, if that's what radical means. Call me a radical. Okay. Well, I will you're a radical. You weren't insane radical when she says, oh, thanks for explaining marginal tax rates to me Alexandro causing Cortez. Now, what be awesome if she explained how much money the people in the top quintile of the United States paying federal income tax. Okay. Here is. The latest statistics this is from April of two thousand eighteen for two thousand eighteen the reality is that top earners top IRS will pay the overwhelming majority of all taxes in the United States houses in the top. Twenty percent will have income of about one hundred and fifty thousand dollars or more and fifty two percents of total income, they'll pay eighty seven percent of all income taxes. Eighty seven percents of all income taxes are paid for by the people in the top twenty percent of income earners. But by the way, it's worth noting here that America has the most progressive tax system in the entire industrialized world K that if you're a say progressive, I mean, the more money you make more money you pay. This is true or in America than it is in any of the European countries. That Alexander Okaz Cortez is talking about the reality is that in order to pay for all of her dot awful terrible regulatory economy crushing programs should have to raise taxes radically on people who are lower down on the income scale. And when you hear people like Bernie Sanders said things like well back into of JFK marginal toxoid was ninety one. Why cannot we that? Now. A few quick note about this point number one the top marginal tax rates in the day of Eisenhower JFK was indeed ninety one percent. But that was for people who earn filing jointly three point four million dollars in inflation adjusted dollars the top marginal tax rate in the United States today kicks in about four hundred thousand dollars. It's not the same thing to even that ninety one percent top marginal tax rate was never paid for by anyone the effective tax rate for people making that amount of money in nineteen fifty five was about forty five percent why because everybody was shielding their income because of the lower corporate tax rate and also because until at that point you're actually allowed to deduct on your taxes depreciation on all loans and depreciation on all real estate. So people just weren't paying that tax rate is the reality. And the economy was good because people weren't actually paying that tax rate for every year between nineteen fifty two in two thousand fourteen the government brought in between seventeen and twenty percents of GDP in tax revenue. And between seven and nine percents of GDP in income tax revenue. So she's the lie to suggest the taxes used to be so high and the economy was also when the taxes were super duper high people just weren't paying them. They just were not paying them. If you really believe that you can do this to the tax rates, and that magically everything will be okay, you're an idiot. And by all the proposals. They're talking about these these Medicare for all studies guy Benson. Put this together. A few months ago. He talked about how to raise tax rates to pay for for AOL sees and Bernie Sanders Medicare for all nonsense. And here's what he came up with. Here's what you have to do you have to raise the payroll tax paid for by workers and employers by ten percentage points for everyone. Hey for the workers and the employer. So that's a twenty percent increase impose a brand. New twenty percent national sales tax and hike income tax rates across the board for poor people middle class people and rich people by ten percentage points, not one of those all of those coming up. The Democrats aren't just pushing enormous spending programs and universal basic income and Medicare for all in green jobs economy and unionize all the workers and tax everybody at one hundred and thirty seven.

"Thirty seven percents of Americans energy consumption came in the form of petroleum. Another twenty nine percent came in the form of natural gas. Another fourteen percents came in the form of coal. Another nine percent came in the form of nuclear electric power, which Democrats don't like eleven percent of America's energy supply came from renewable energy. So in other words, the growth of America's economy, the growth of the world economy, which is dependent on the growth of America's economy is powered eighty nine percent by sources of energy that Alexander ocasio Cortez doesn't like just like nuclear energy. So we're not gonna count that. Even though that really is pretty clean source of energy, right? France is basically run on nuclear energy. This is it's it's just ridiculous. And by the way, even when we talk about renewable energy would would concentrates nineteen percent of that is. Not quite as renewable with people want that has carbon emissions when you use wood for fuel that actually does have carbon emissions solar represents six percents of the eleven percents that is renewable energy wind represents twenty one percent of the eleven percents. In other words, solar and wind represent hydro-electric represents something like five percents of the total energy supply of the United States. She wants to be a hundred percent by two thousand eight thirty. How's that going to happen through massive taxation and caution of the American economy? That's how it's going to happen. But it doesn't stop there. The document also states that the green new deal with non environmental projects such as social economic racial regional and gender-based Justice. What a green new deal has to do with gender based Justice is beyond me. Oh, the hell that's even supposed to mean. The matter. She says that we had we Chevy national energy, efficient smart. Brit. I like her to design it, it's and she's obviously an expert in energy management more. So than people in coal and natural gas and Trillium probably she should design. It right me. She's she's a government expert. She was bartending until five seconds ago. But clearly if there's one person who knows how to build a national energy, efficient smart grid. And that's not just a bunch of words that sound bites together it will be somebody like Alexander Okasha Cortez whose combined brainpower could maybe maybe provide the electricity to lightly toast, a piece of bread. As long as we're talking about people, providing renewable sources of energy. We'll get some more on Alexandra causing Cortez's idiotic plans. But I I'd like to take a.

"Everyone, you know, in Maine in Alaska, friends of friends, family extended family, and tell them to, you know, exert all the public pressure that they can on Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski to reconsider this nomination to vote against that is the that's that is the best way to do it because it does. It is going to come down to those two centers in those two states. If we get all the Democrats onboard. Okay, before we go, there were more primary elections this week, and the big news on Tuesday was that Anna Presley the first African American woman ever elected to the Boston city council defeated incumbent congressman Michael Kapela no. In a primary for Massachusetts is seventh district Presley's now in line to be the first woman of color to ever represent Massachusetts in the US house. Man, that's a long time coming and she'll do so from the seat once held by tip O'Neill in John f. Kennedy. I know I on a Presley when I was in intern and John Kerry's off. This in college, she was the constituent services director in the Boston office. A listen knows her. Well, all of us from the Kerry world. She is fantastic. She's going to be a fantastic congresswoman. It is awesome that she won. So unlike the Oko Cortes Crowley race, the consensus in this race was that Michael cappuccino took this Ray seriously. He wasn't caught by surprise. He was almost as liberal as Presley with the notable exception of her position on Bala Shing ice, how do you think she pulled this off Dan, and what you know what made for the upset this time. I mean, as always the simplest answer is the most through the most true one, which is she was a better candidate who ran a better campaign and I would, you know, her media consultant tweeted yesterday that the only television advertising that they did was on Univision until him into believe in everything else, all their other communications where either through digital on the phones or at the doors, which is how you run a modern campaign. And so I think there was a better run campaign first and foremost. Second, I think what we are seeing is like there are definitely ideological disputes within the party. Those will have always been true. Those will remain true, and they will certainly be true in twenty twenty. But a lot of where we're seeing these these primaries are they operate on different axes than ideological debates like it is old versus new it is inside versus outside. It is an attitudinal view. Progressivism where as opposed to a more traditional as a more aggressive progressivism not in terms of how left you are, but in how you in how bull the you expressed that progressivism and I think, but this is also, I mean this each one of these has been unique Ana is I don't know her, but I've had many of the same friends for many years, and everyone has been telling me she's like an absolute rockstar forever. Is she. Who came up through traditional politics. She unlike Alexander ocasio Cortez you didn't just she didn't just get into a race. Yeah. And if you want to feel hopeful at the end of a fairly dismal week, your check out the video of finding out that she won it is it is pretty moving and exciting. Okay.
