"The inside of the ball and brady one thing that we talked about. When when vick was hired as the broncos head coach was okay. It's going to take some time for this defense to become the elite vic fangio defense because his path to stops with the forty niners and the bears. It took him until year. Three for the defense to be elite. Well what's happening right now The the first two years kind of a disappointment for from the defense. They weren't getting the sax they weren't getting the turnovers they were having some impressive gains but overall it was a little bit of a disappointment for having a defensive guru as your head coach but now years three and the defense is absolutely elite. Only allowed twenty six points per game. And that's including special teams touchdown. So they're really averaging just six points per game and i don't care that they've been playing two rookie. Quarterbacks and daniel jones they have dominated absolutely dominated these teams and you're seeing turnovers. You're seeing sacks. That's what i wanted to see against the jets. I know the jets are bad. But what do you do against bad teams. You absolutely annihilate them. And they did twenty-six nothing but they're getting after the quarterback von miller with four sex and then everybody else was getting in the mix. Alexander johnson looked fantastic. So sometimes those games i mean. I know they're against bad teams but their confidence builders and you're absolutely right. This defense looks as good as we advertised in the off season. Yeah exactly and that's even with them taking hits ronald darby your without what you know your high price corner. You're without bradley chubb. One of what. What we thought was a foundational piece on this defense you out with one of the best players. That was playing on this team in josie jewel. He started the year incredibly well. And you're still able to do this and look at the margin of error that they have now the wiggle room that they have when they play the baltimore ravens. They can give up over two touchdowns more than than they allowed than..

"You you just you just breaking heights and for me i never. I never say a low told him though. Always set the goals high. Because you know if you say something real high you gotta expectation the reach touristy and always be busier. I wanna be the number one best inside linebacker and whatever that takes Afars wiseass tax wise. And stuff. Like that i had to get the job done but like One one one goal out put for myself after at every. If i make every thirty tablets i should have at least one. Forced fumble and estimated lead getting hundred from last year. I had one hundred twenty or something like that. I don't know how many cycles advocate. i should be able to call at least five. Five to eight forced fumbles. So that's one of my goes like turnovers in. That's a big bankers taboos calm. But when i get the ball to back that offense in caused turnovers that would be a great thing for our whole unit for the team and build us put us in the next level to be able to be able to get better as a whole unit but might four farseeing wise. I wanna i wanna go to la. We want to be planning for the Allen la so you know we got got the pieces to do it from offense and defense standpoint with the goes r half me. I want to be the best inside. Linebacker lead. And i just gotta make the half goes but what do you a workout warrior. Always post videos and you know you do yours. Do different type of workouts. What did you feel like. You need to improve on this year. What did you put emphasis on this off season on trying to get better. I feel that one of the biggest thing is for the minicam wannabes. Things i put emphasis all was staying square keeping my feet shopping. It's fan lateral. And if i do that. Pretty much covers if i do that. Stance wherein keep my feet lateral..

"The sizes may focus a lot. More to so i have a him out real and it's always interesting to know how guys approach goals as von miller the other day if you had any goals. He said he wasn't putting any numbers out there at all that have everybody plays well. The numbers will take care of themselves. Jerry judy told us though that he certainly has goals that he set and that he that he sets each year and and even how he references them on a regular basis. Of course our all my goes down on. Put it on there so i can look at it every day when i use the bathroom. Science faculties read it to myself You know you want to manifest that so I believe in lagos in china accomplishment. Just you know personal. Go to just re read by myself so i wanna talk too much about the one question that i should've followed up with was if you hit those. We let us know. And he in portland sutton together you mix and noah fan albert working his way back and if the running back room stays the same. I think that you've got a lot of fantasy. "That least we've been using a little more on this show, which is More investing in the rest of the team for more investing and taking your shots a quarterback? Sure, absolutely. But again, using all of your top in draft capital for this one position. If you miss it zig difficult, right? And the other part of this is you know you are staring a defensive reload and rebuild right in the face. Yes, of course. How much longer Gonna have von Miller que Jack's 32 33 years old. Are you sure that you're getting Justine Simons back? We think we are and that's fine. But you're not 1% sure yet. You probably need to put the tag on his negotiating ploy. Alexander Johnson's 30 years old. Shelby Harris is like 28. Micro cell. He was 2027 28. The real KC Nejedly a. Probably not gonna be back and looked at Buck's team last night. I mean, they had some vets upfront, but their secondary pretty young. Yeah, The second is very young. It's a front seven. It's was where all the even the front seven. I mean Labonte, David's long tooth, But white isn't you know she's young, but they have some guys they can build around right and say, even including shack buried in there, But they have some guys they could build around The point is the Broncos pre much every single level. All three levels might be having to make some major decisions here very soon, and they need to be younger, right? Several of us quite a two thirds of each levels got age, you know, because once they do find their window You like like the table? Buccaneers? Did. They just kind of found their window right with when Tom Brady got there. They found the window. Well, they can sustain that. For a while. Is the defense largely young? The biggest decision you have to make his own shack. Barrett. Well, right, but mostly shock, Perry. On the offense. They're gonna make a decision on Chris got one. But the point is, that team can largely stay intact based on the fact that they've done a good job drafting, especially in the secondary on the defensive side. The Broncos like you said. They kind of been with the final remnants of that Super Bowl 50 team, which really is just Von Miller. At this point, Miller McManus e. That's got it, And so they kind of been, but they've been sort of patch working it together. Some vets now is time to actually invest on the defensive side. Why does this say that's why you got the money? You need to roll the cap forward. Now is the time to invest and you need to go go out there and get younger to couple positions two and you can't get younger if you don't draft picks. "Broncos country tonight, Right? I would spend it with Albright taking Alexander Johnson. Thank you. Steve Atwater. Get those interviews up. Broncos country tonight dot com. Writing Crystal or Caylee Broncos inside joins us in about 30 minutes. Stick around For that the meantime, hit us up on the falls three or 3713, 85, 85 or 56690. So I want you to come right back to something, he said. They're after reflection in the break. I'm a little tour on this. I'm a little tourney on what she said about youth, because where he won't use his excuse. I think it's still be Part of context and new ones because we talked about with the offense right the youngest offense in the NFL. We talked about the youth as it relates to reasons. They struggled early on reasons the Broncos defense gave up almost 28 points per game is you had to turn to guys that had barely played if at all at the pro level. And have a lot of experience playing together. Or in the pros, So I'm gonna play this sound by so I asked him about the youth on the defense. So I play this. And then when I wanna sort of this debate this with you, just for a moment. Here's Alexander Johnson for moments ago on not using excuse using youth as an excuse. Like I always I've been hearing that since, like college days, when you hear about used the young guys like I'm a guy who don't really believe in that nice. Seems like if you're a player. You're a player. Remember? Regardless, how many years of your plan? I mean, I'm in snaps. You've been planning it don't matter. You gotta line up and play. Granted, If you've been on played 10 years in the league, you maybe know, even pick up different schemes a little fast or recognize stuff a little here and there, but after him today, regardless you got together. Then they feel you've got to make plays. You gotta do your job. You got to go ball, so I don't really buy into that. You think young stuff like you wanna feel you need to be making plays? You need to be doing your job. Marry if you're older, young so I don't really buy today. You stuff like that as much the least idea that it's a great great answer, And I think from player to player You can say those things like you can't. He's not gonna say that. Michael Odra Moody. It's okay. You gave that touchdown because you're young like that. That doesn't exist. I understand it, but I think that there's a little bit of a context argument we can have from the outside looking in at that team and say, Well, he may not want to give excuse for youth, but I think certainly we can have a conversation about that. Can't we stood No, I'm saying we can mine. What side? Are you coming out on that? Well, That's what I'm saying. I'm a little torn. I mean, on one hand, I see his point. I think from inside the locker room, you're not gonna care about you. So I mean, you strap on the pads and we're gonna go. You don't. That's what it is football player. You don't. It's exactly he's answered exactly right, you the ball or you're not. You think I was capable of going out there doing the job? You're not Did we not say all season long? That's youngest offense in the NFL, and there were. The reasons they're getting. Having struggles out there on the defensive side is because they're playing with guys that relative and experience. I think so. I think those air too. Different conversations. Okay, I think you're you're a macro and micro view. You know, The micro view is in the moment you got to trust that your body could do it in the macro view is Hey, this offense has not reached its ceiling because you've got young guys in there. They're still figuring it out. You know, it's like saying that the first four games of the season you got a brand new defensive coordinator, you know, like last year. Well, Vic Fangio the 1st 45 games to see if the Broncos defense one eye Good. It couldn't get sacks. Could you turn overs? Whatever. And part of that was the defense was still getting used to a brand new defense. Now they're going to tell you that's no excuse. We gotta go out there. Get it done. But the reality is is that you know, when you go back to the macro view, everybody's got the ability to look at it. And she said, Well, defense has the ability to improve and be better because they're still learning it in, gathering it and getting all this information. And processing it into liquid stuff. So there's a there's a macro versus micro view. The individual view is always going to be. I don't care how old how young you are. If you're white, black green, whatever. If you go out there and play you play in the story, the the macro view was going to be well. These guys were young. Um, you know, we're gonna have to do the best we can with them, and they'll grow into the superstars that become I mean, if you look at Justin Simmons and year one versus Justin 70, Year four, you're talking about a relatively inexperienced player who got on the field a little bit versus an all pro. So you know, I I don't think that that's that either side or either particular stance is 100% accurate, But I think both of them are 90% accurate. I think it's no no 100% that that's what I'm saying. Like, like a Susie said it. I'm like, Yeah, you behind that. And I'm like, Well, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait. Hold on. Get behind it from a player to player perspective. But I also feel like when we're having conversations about why this team is struggling. I think it's Zapopan Iate to bring up their youth. It's appropriate to bring up there in experience their time together on the field. So Where I love that the Broncos as a team inside that locker room will use that as an excuse, and we haven't found any guys by the way that have used that is excused. They'll know because if you do find them, they won't be here. Right. You give credence to it as an acknowledgement, but as Alexander's it, I mean, it's almost the opposite ways like I'm not even to give it credence. We those guys need to go out there and play. If they're if they're playing out there, part of the 11 We have to win. We have to find ways to win. And it doesn't matter who's out there. But again, I think this is like you said of Micro versus Macron is too from conversations. Love that inside the locker room, though they don't really care about that, at least that context, right and you see the lengths that NFL players will go to to motivate themselves. It's also against the world. When was the Patriots? Nobody believed it was the year the Patriots everybody believed, you know, so from that you can kind of gather that Alexander Johnson the mindset that we're not going to allow crutches in the locker room..

Mind you, by the way before we well, you know, I'm not here to say because I because then I'd be jinxing it So I'm just gonna let that roll. It's interesting watching the Steelers struggle tonight. But it's not like obviously the Broncos or any situation to say anything otherwise keep voting on our poll question at Gateway, Colorado. Right. Let's hope justice it has made their first Pro Bowl. Who else should have made it right now? Careful getting 72% of the vote tied right now. Brandon McManus and Bryce Callahan Alexander Johnson, I think should get more love and I think by next year We'll be having more conversations about Alexander Johnson getting problem look, he leads inside linebackers are off the ball linebackers in pass rush opportunities. He leads. He goes outside, so they're sending him constantly. He's he's showing some really, I mean, really dynamic abilities but again. It's he. He is like Josie Jule. There are a few limitations there and by the way, man, the bills they absolutely picked on Josie. Every time he got lined up on a tight end, and they knew he was in coverage, even if he was passing off coverage, like they had a deep, deep cross. Two knocks that was completed and Josie Jules, you know he was in coverage, but the idea was like, Hey, we're gonna We're gonna shadow there so that it won't be all on Josie. He still needs to be the underneath and he couldn't even keep up to that. Well, yeah, Bill's very clearly had a game plan. They were gonna pick on the rookie on Dick on. Try to pick on Boss be. They did a little bit. They like digs up on Bob's being kept trying to, you know, keep trying to work him. They got him on a couple plays, Boss. We made a couple plays to, um You know, you know, he had interception old back. Just Bobby should have, like five interceptions this year. You know, he's dropped three and had to call back So it's just It's just funny to see that it's not funny, but it is funny in the in the non funny, funny way s Oh, yeah. All right, let's go and get to it are key takeaways from the Broncos hosting the Buffalo Bills. They lose this game 48 19. We'll start in the first half. Now the Broncos get the ball to drive down the field. They have a missed field goal, something that probably wouldn't have happened with Brandon McManus, but that end up being obviously opportunity bills. Get the ball drive down for a touchdown. Broncos get it. They punt. Bills. Get the ball again. They go down for a touchdown. The bills only touched the ball four times in the first half, and three of them were for touchdowns. Which is gonna be your talking about complementary football. That's gonna be a challenge for anybody. We'll get to what the Broncosoffense ultimately did. But one of the place was a Josh Allen 24 yard rushing touchdown and My goodness, man. He's having a special year. No, no denying how talented he is, and especially watching him make his pro Bowl this year. Hats off you people out of the game five.

"McColl Hartman is back on the field for Kansas City slot, right Single man left the homes in the shotgun. Williams to his right play clock running down the homes gets the snap. He's back to pass. He pumps he looks pressure coming side aren't broke cut by Williams across the 40 yard line, and then he has hit immediately and dropped Josie Jule on the stop, but that's a cane of five. Patrick Mahomes, another sidearm fastball that Darryl Williams pulls in on. Why's decision by pageant, Mahomes is tight coverage downfield. Instead of trying to force it. He takes what the defense gives him, passing it down to Williams to ensure the short game to make it second and manageable here, moving forward second out of five from the 42 yard line. Patrick Mahomes is a magician back there with some of the throws the angles he throws from Unbelievable. That's kind of a three quarter side Army through the Williams on that one trips, right? Single man left the homes is back in the shotgun. He's got the Snapple homes around the option. Play to the left the league pitch out to the sideline to Williams turns it up across the 50 45 out of bounds with a first down, we're gonna say he stepped out back at the 48 yard line, but still plenty for the first down is Darryl Williams takes that option pitch from Patrick Mahomes and games 10 and that was all Patrick Mahomes. They had one defender they had to beat and as they looked They were able to. Patrick Holmes came to light a scrimmage and put his shoulder toward the line of scrimmage. Looking like he was going to run forward that force Jeremiah taught you to come forward and play him and right at that moment, patching holes, pitches it to his left for the big game. Karine Jackson escorted Williams out of bounds. What a hopeless feeling that must be for a touch you on the edge, 1st and 10 from the Denver 48 2 receivers left and right. The homes is in the gun. He's got the snap back to throw Homes, looking throws over the middle and Sammy Watkins makes a diving catch of the 30 yard line, somehow snared that low fastball and then rolls ahead of the 30 for a cane of 18 wanna catch by Watkins and the entire defense for the Broncos are mystified. Two players thought they had an interception. Alexander Johnson, the linebacker Kareem Jackson, the safety, they both looked in their hands at the end of play. Sammy walk ins had the ball and amazing fastball from Patrick Holmes boy. Watkins caught the back end of that ball. It did come loose for a second. I think Vic Fangio was gonna challenge the play. He has thrown the red flag. Watkins caught the back of the football and as he goes to the ground, the ball does pop up out of his possession. He re caught it. But did the ball hit the ground feel there's a complete pass. The Broncos.

"He doesn't get home a lot, and that bugs me a little bit. I like Jim Johnson. He's phenomenal Linebacker. I think he's wasted lets the quarterback I think that his best skills going sideline to sideline and go away from the ball. Um, I think he's a top third of the league linebacker. I think he's the Broncos best pass coverage linebacker. Then why do you think Vic's doing it like this? Um, I don't know. He's more athletic than Josie. And maybe he feels like he's going to get home. But he's not a natural pass rusher. He doesn't navigate the wash very well. He just kind of chutes and hopes that he's gonna hit the gap and get through. And if he doesn't he just kind of gets held up. He doesn't really have any pass rushing moves. Josie. That's Yeah, That's a good point, Josie, on the other hand, and you could see this. I'm telling you go back and watch the play on. I can remember the ones that wanted to a Well, I remember he comes up and hits the hole that the Josie kind of has the presence of mind to slow up. Because to look like he was about to take off and change to his trajectory before cleaning that play up. Josie understands what it's like to go downhill and you know Alexander Johnson is a superb linebacker. But that's just not his skill set. And so I remember, she said inside linebacker Derrick Johnson. Yes. Their chance was an excellent sideline to sideline guys. Great coverage sucked. Going downhill was not a pass rusher at all. That was just not his game. You get lost in the wash. He didn't have passed rushing moves, and then that's not a knock on him. Some guys just don't but that's that's just not who he Woz and you know. Derek Johnson got some sacks over the course of his career and all that kind of stuff, and Alexander get sacks with questions career with the reality was that that's wasting their skill set. And I don't know why Vic does that. I really don't I'm sure he has his reasons. Maybe he thinks that Alexander could get there faster. Maybe There's some kind of key deal where Alexander recognized the ball's not coming that side and delay blitzes. I don't know. But what I what I can tell you is looking at the two of them. Josie looks more natural doing it. And Marc Maron. I know we'll look more natural doing it even though he's a converted safety because I've seen do it. There's a little bit of a hint in there that he dropped. It was kind of very subtle. I tried to get a follow up in there. About creating turnovers. Broncos have not been spectacular this year in creating takeaways. They've got 10 on the season 25th in the league, and he said, That's the big thing that he really wants to add to his game, So it's interesting that you bring up getting home. As the thing that you'd like to see a little bit more from Alexander Johnson because he wants to take that and add to it, But it almost feels like there's still another step to his game that needs to happen before we get to the and now you're creating turnovers and takeaways. Yeah,.

"Was client. It was a layer on a run off of left tackle where we should have had Two or three yard gain looked like there was a little traffic around Karim Jackson's leg. Bryce Callahan looked like he was going to get over and it was gonna be a late attempt on a tackle. There was no attempt made and when you are playing in the league You gotta know that you have to throw your body around. Edward's given the handoff runs through a couple of tackles going through another one, and he's in the end zone for Kansas City. Touchdown, shoddy tackling there by the Bronco defense puff to get guys when it's this cold on the ground, and there were a couple of Bronco defenders that slipped off him. Kareem Jackson being one of them. Yeah, that's not move. Kareem Jackson years I can guarantee you could tell you that's not his standards. He's a much better player than that. More attention to detail, though focus and the more energy and that never has to happen again, but We did see the emergence of one lady on bail and lady unveil made a nice run on this play in particular, Shelby Harris planned right defensive and position. He clearly had a lane to get to and he was walled all and it led to a 14 yard rip on the ground for first time. Rush of Lady on bail. Holmes bobble. The handoff now turns to the lady on lady and build a big hole in the left side. Belle's first period chief will get a first down at over the 40 Yard line, knocked down at the 41 tackle by Alexander Johnson and Josie Jewels for the Broncos, but a 16 yard run. On the first ferry of his Kansas City Chiefs career for Lady on Belle. Yeah, and that was a shake your head moment right there. Mean it's probably takes about four hours every day now justin just to go through the injury report. Which is why we will go through everything. Right you're. attack. Yes I will say this Phillips Lizzy, he wasn't what are the guys that traveled it looked like he was going to play and then come at the last moment you decided hey, let's let's hold you out. Let's not play. He should be ready to go against the Patriots did a pretty good ten days rest for the Broncos, which is a good thing for them. So he should be able to give to be back but then you go back to that one two punch that we will all talking about the Broncos will have at the beginning of the season you bring it Philip Lindsey. Now you also have Melvin Gordon. Freeman being best blocked on third down along. So it gives you an extra dynamics often that you didn't have that's going to be sorely needed especially with seven being out for the year. What about Noah Fan? Have you heard anything there? He was. He's had a good start to the season at a big catch and then he goes down with that injury any any news there Trying fine you know left the game had a little bit of an ankle injury, but he should be fine the doll for the next game against the Patriots and things goodness because if you lose out on him I mean. Be doing off it. You literally no weapons. If you lose out on no sense, they should get that. You know, hey, what just a little bit of a hiccup, but he'll be fine. He'll be ready to go. Yeah. No question about it and I know you got the little ones back to their cheering right now they're saying, Hey, no offense play we're excited about. What? They are cheery but you know what it is crying on the were. Babies. No question about it I will tell you though when Sam Darnold runs for that five hundred yard touchdown, that's what it felt like I I'm looking at this going is this going to be this? The demise of the Broncos? Are we going to lose this game? We're going to go back to that run and I mean you see Justin Simmons misses a tackle. You get get Alexander Johnson back there MRS that sack I'm looking at this going Oh my goodness. This is going to be a rough one for this broncos team they find a way to recover and we're we're not really focusing on that giant run. Brady if you ever wanted to look at a video to show kids and say, this is how you don't tap. What happened there was Sam Darnold I. Mean it was literally guys making business decisions on a quarterback I. Don't get it that. "LeBron seems to do it all the time. Ah, lot of people were jumping all over Patrick Mahomes, saying that he is limiting himself. But I don't think they realized that he's obviously not going anywhere. They'll just keep ripping up the contract and back and back loading it, But But for somebody placed a position that is a quarterback You're right. He does have a chance to sign. Two or three more deals, especially because he has been so reliable and hasn't missed a snap. Now we can't predict the future, but you can look at the past. And when you you mentioned John James earlier, there's there's a track record before the Broncos. Give him all that money. That Maybe you shouldn't do that based on what you've seen because he can't stay on the field, And we remember the Wright back Fred Taylor, who was really good when he was healthy, but seem to be banged up all the time. I remember going back years where asked warrants out like, Hey, you played against Red Taylor all the way back to high school and college was like in high school. He was hurt. He missed our game. Our senior junior, whatever it was, he's like, and I think you missed one of the Florida Miami Games. And so that's not who Justin Simmons is. So yeah, I think his durability and And theoretical longevity could really benefit him. And he could end up becoming not only Ah, lifelong Bronco, but one of the most well paid Broncos. It isn't a quarterback, maybe of all time last one. I'm Justine Simmons. So what should Broncos fans be feeling though, when they see a day like this where Chris Jones gets his contract. Myles Garrett gets his contract And of course, this is all coming on the heels of Patrick Mahomes. Other teams are willing to spend the money right now. What the Broncos fans have to take away from things like that happening. Well, I saw your poll question I vote. I think they should be content because he's not going anywhere until you have The back and forth and sort of the public disappointment that you had with Chris Harris Jr. And I don't think you'd ever get that with Justin. It's It's not kind of who he is. Then I wouldn't be worried. And unless the Broncos say Yeah, we're ready to move on from him. And you can tell, you know, John, always really good at using coded language and not not super deep codes. But after the season when he says With Justin's musical We want Justin be around here for a long time. Then they ask about Philip lives, and he says, Well, well, look at his contract and see what makes sense. So the guys that he wants it. He doesn't every year then to your press conference and again at the at the combine. Oh, yeah, we're picking his options. Oh, yeah, we we want him back. We want And so that's the way John Elway talks about Justine Simmons, Obama Broncos fan. I'm not disappointed because he's going to be back there. Rome in the middle of Field and Vic Fangio's defense and hopefully Can build on the takeaways that he had last year and and put a really nice big number that solidifies on all pro inoperable, But he's not. He's not going anywhere The Chiefs are going to do with the chief gone two of the homes. That was a no brainer with Chris Jones. Good for them bad for the FC Western, and the rest of the league last block him. And then with Myles Garrett. They didn't have to do that deal yet. They just did and and good for him. We know what a talent he is. But I don't think you're going to see anybody else that air on these franchise deals, including that Prescott, who shares an agent in dot France with Justine Simmons, get get a long term deal. Done. Yeah, I don't think that is either. He's plan was to play on the tag and then turn around maximizes dollar after Holmes and Watson had both sides kind of keep it, keep the tie, keep the water rising and pushing his boat up in terms of his at his overall value, which Bronco is gonna be there? I want to get a big money, Multi year deal. You're gonna be Alexander Johnson shall be Harris Kill Lindsay. I don't think it's going to be Shelby Harris just based on what we saw last year, and I think if you look at where the numbers are with Darryl Casey, there probably be more inclined because I think she'll be just two years younger than Casey. Assuming Casey puts up another probe all year that they would probably look a look. A look A Casey Alexander Johnson's Got Got interesting. Opportunity in front of them right because we know about the past and then with him potentially cashing in if he plays the way he played those final 89 games, where he was a pro football focus, darling, that which he earned Then he's going to get in the conversation about. I stayed inside linebackers cause you're not going to let him walk if he builds on what he did last year, so that would be my my short term, But in the long term, I guess I'm not doing the math in front. Me. And with Chuck being a first rounder, Bradley chump certainly will likely just Take von Miller's contract and Vons really the interesting one bond with that with that option, like you mentioned guys, he's he's got a chance. I think he has a really big year instead of letting it get to that. Maybe they work on an extension and that he finishes his career here, but But Alexander Johnson, probably a safe bet in the short term, and I think The other question is what guys? Are they moving on from guys like you mentioned Ben and John James feels like a no brainer. Garett Bolles does he play his way onto this roster Long chairman and work out of 345 year deal and and then cream Jackson just cause of age and And the nature of that position, so ah, but But I guess age is probably the safest bet. Okay. Last question here foryou. ESPN did a NFL veterans bubble for all 32 teams, and they put Jeff hire Hman as the Broncos that bubble guy. They're picking and Jeff leg off with this one. Then there, there's plenty of other guys. I think we could probably get to and that's kind of where I wanted to go with this more so And will Jeff hire Hman make the roster if it remains to be seen. There's definitely argument because of his salary, cap it that you probably want to move on. You brought in. Nick van it you drafted Alberto Cueva Nam. You have no fan and Rebecca shows him. Clashes last year, at least be able to have a lot of versatility. So the tight in room seems like it's going to be an interesting battle. But maybe give me another name. Maybe two of guys that are kind of those vet. Intothe roster, guys that probably should hopefully have a good camp. Otherwise they might be on their way out..

"Find out what you thought about the Patrick Mahomes deal and the way this this kind of sets up. I mean, you got to know for Dak Prescott and Shawn Watson. There's only increases their value. They're not gonna necessarily make nearly 40 million per, but they are going to make more than they were going to make before just as a result of this contract. The thing about it. It feels like it sets up nicely for both sides, and he is the one quarterback as we talk before the show or when the show started a little while ago. He's the one quarterback, then nobody bats an eye at no matter what they paid him. Right because he has two years as a starter for the 1st 2 years. He's had a starter in the league. You can argue they're They're the best 1st 2 years that any quarterback in NFL history has had, And obviously I know we didn't play that rookie year, but the two years that he's starting better than even Dan Marino. In a 3 84 Kurt Warner right around the turn of the century after he came through the through NFL Europe in the Arena League, So there's no question he deserves it and One of the fascinating aspects of this is looking at some of these numbers that sound audacious, like, for example, in 2027 the cash out lie or cash outlay. Pardon me is going to be just south of $60 million. And that sounds massive right now and it won't be small when it comes around, but We're going to be a few years into the new round of television contracts. They should be kicking in here around 2022. Are we going to be looking at that me? Not as a bargain, but as fair market value, and you touched on Dak Prescott and Dish on Watson. If if dish on Watson is 75% of of Patrick Mahomes. They shouldn't he get $30 million a year? In theory? Yes, absolutely. Do I stay on brand? You got to stay on breads and honestly, if we didn't get a 75 reference in before our time. I thought we would have done something very wrong. Dude, it's great to have you back on the show. I hope I can do this again very soon. Absolutely. You take have a great night, guys. I appreciate Andrew Freaking Mason at Mace. Denver on Twitter read his fantastic work at the D. M v r dot com along Brian Kononsberg and Zach Stevens. They're going to have Fantastic Broncos coverage just like we do here on Broncos country tonight, but they speak to the diehards. They speak to Broncos fans that want to know about the guys up and down this Ross or not just starters, they want to know about the guys that are in the pipeline. The backing guys because in the end, you know Alexander Johnson's like we interviewed Alexander Johnson at a train cave watching him. Practice out there. You knew he could be. You feel just watched from college. He knew he had a chance to be something special. But watching him out there He was having great practices, he was making an impact. You see these things being out there every single day, oftentimes for training camp. What I always find the most appealing thing about it for me is the the fact that it is It's not a one day here and there smattering where you show up and you get an idea. You kind of have to be there every single day because this all kind of comes in waves. There's an have been flow. To the entirety of training camp. Who could be a star early on in week. 1 may fade off by two or three. So if you only went weak one, you wouldn't necessarily know everything you could know. Can't wait for training camps could be a lot of fun. I guess we're gonna have great coverage here on broad Coast country tonight..

"Hey man you got them back a little bit but really and truly will record the ad I would I would I would be up at night worried about him you know what and how you know I'm I don't get him down to the ground just because again it was a strip and speed together Sir a potent combination I'm I'm serious about that I I know you are Stephen and that's that's kind of what I I mostly expected you to say because the reason Melvin Gordon is here is for those situations the the Broncos feel like they need to be better on on short yardage plays when you know there the offense is going to run it the defense knows that and they still can't stop it do you agree with that right oh yeah oh yeah now here Alexander Johnson a whole man maybe a nice little follow him without David Mann a I'd like to see that I like I mean again a prime young Steve that water I don't know man and I don't know if there's many people that can help yeah I did well to gable battle my first we'll have to get a a conversation happening at some point Hey Steve it's always good to catch up with you ma'am thank you so much for your time tonight and we'll check in with you again next Tuesday absolutely so thank you so much and keep up the great work H. Steve our hall of Famer bring him I don't think we've heard anything yet officially about the ceremony I think they're they're planning some contingencies but yeah we're still waiting on word on that by the way baseball from July twenty third twenty fourth this when they gonna kick season off all right late breaking news they're pretty exciting stuff and yes it is it was a Charlie Blackmon Blackmun to other players positive for covert nineteen after work at Sikorsky amp Frank Castelli ani and still deal with the other two but that's something that to is is going to be kind of a consistent headline I mean even with the call you'll catch when we heard that earlier today a symptomatic well had out in Serbia right well and he was exposed because he was around Novak Djokovic who also tennis player who came down with it and then you know so I you know it is a symptomatic is a tricky thing because you know you can be a symptomatic for up to two weeks with this thing so that's what makes it so dangerous to is because in the time that in that span of two weeks who knows what you're spreading it because you think you're healthy and so that's that's why this thing is been so so dangerous okay I will I want to preface this by not by saying I don't know the science behind this statement it was put out by me is put out by Albert Breer the science behind it I don't know if this this has the look kind of legitimacy but he put out this on Twitter he said is it okay to start talking about how teams that have guys testing positive for cover nineteen right now in all the sports might wind up having an advantage later all hate that okay first of all have you seen what this does to a pair of long even evil it's the light kisses their pictures and you go on social media you can look at what happens to people's even healthy people started as a lot you have diminished lung capacity it's gonna be interesting to see how guys a Karina von get back out there if they can build their Max V. O. two which is the amount of oxygen that you're looking at onset to accessing teen days he still had fatigue right and so it it really does take a toll on your lungs and so that that's I I feel like that's a short sighted comet designed to draw engagement rather than it is in any way scientifically sound especially if you know what this does to people's long Sir and and again I preface but I'm not supporting that I'm not sure I was put out there and so I thought I'd ask you my way I just got a tweet from the at Rockies baseball account simply saying baseball okay I mean you it's legit it's officially official I mean we can try to confirm it was somebody that played seen dinner standing behind you like the reaper in Florida V. the grim reaper hi there well I love drinker may reference there Steve I I don't want that to go by as if I did I get it you know I I'm I'm out here out west man to pick it up and you just you know take her out for a nice steak dinner and never call her again the echo show the news up to hear the top of the hour update on major league baseball's.

"You got to start winning games where you feel you can wear them and believe you can wear them and particularly down the stretch and this past Sunday will start to that Broncos head coach Vic Fangio hoping is guys can take their first win of the season and roll it into number two on Sunday they're coming off a road win against the Chargers as they prepare to face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Denver right now we're talking live with our brokers insider Brenda Crist all Brandon sponsored by Coloradans for spots will energy development get the facts on help oil and gas is benefiting Colorado and all Coloradans six red dot org that is C. R. ET dot org Brandon okay so we're looking at the Tennessee Titans and I kind of picture them in the same realm a little bit today as a as a Jacksonville maybe not as good on my right now perspective well they lost Jacksonville yeah I guess you know simple math there and they're in a lot of ways similar to the Broncos I don't see mere image but they have some similarities have a strong defense their offense feels limited a quarterback they can make some plays and doesn't turn the ball over and Joe Flacco that more turnover certainly than anybody would like a specialist couple fumbles but they don't take a lot of chances and so that's part of the reason I don't turn the ball over that's how they can lose a game fourteen to seven at home to the bills so how does Denver match up against them especially at home we've got to do well right yeah I think it here's what you're worried about even the receivers involved because they have a really really good secondary led by Malcolm Butler and then you also door about Derrick Henry who's as big as anybody on defense just about Eiji Johnson's big linebacker Alexander Johnson at six three two forty five Derrick Henry is also six three two forty five is the biggest tail back in the league so you got to worry about that and then can you run on them but I think the the Broncos will get creative on offense so I like the chances to to do a little bit but it's not going to be a high scoring affair so be settle this for us because Vic Fangio again this week said von Miller can play better is there anything going on there between coach and von Miller and is the second part to this is this a way of coach trying to motivate von do you think I think that's what it is but it's been like this since the beginning and talk about this a little bit with judge on big al yesterday afternoon he comes in and in his introductory press conference Mike and I remember we were all there how strange it was that he says Khalil Mack is great and von Miller can be great and one's been to seven pro bowls in an all pro and Superbowl MVP in one of the fastest now two hundred sacks of predictable other two and it does feel like it is a way to try to motivate about von doesn't need the motivation he wants to catch impasse Bruce Smith for the all time sack mark which is two hundred now is it a hundred so is a hundred away so he's motivated plenty the idea that they can get more out of them it is exciting and Vaughan was asked about his relationship with Vic and he says it makes honest with him in anything he says in the media a certainly says the volleys out like speaking through the media to try to get them on but is it it is odd that he said that a month now the day before camp started in the media a barbecue he said look bonds a great player but I think you can be even greater something to that effect and that he said it towards him again so it's not just constantly throwing von under the bus it does feel like a it's a way to motivate my some of it's working or not you're an insider not an odds maker but what do you think the think the Broncos get it done this weekend I do think they get it done this weekend and you got to keep an eye on that she's Texans game because the Texans are gonna continue to put up points and they're gonna come after the chiefs and he's a really banged up the Broncos if everything falls in line to get a bank that chief steam coming in on Thursday night you know the crowd will be Jack they play the cheap stuff last year twice they could have three wins a matter ten eleven days and everyone around here Broncos country feel a lot better yes what a relief and this weekend if you're actually going to games seventy two degrees and it's fair to Kenya weekend for the NFL's one hundred so champ Bailey Pat Bowlen both get honored and show up early because the Broncos top one hundred team all time Peyton manning's the world Janet sharp is back in town I think he's actually doing is foxsports show from here today and so forty or fifty Broncos grades are gonna be honored on the field recognized on the field right around two to twenty five kickoff but they will be out there early so you'll have a chance to hopefully see some of your favorite players of all time he's our brokers insider Brenda crystal thank you brand coming up in just mere moments get you caught up in that wild fire actually to LA proper the fire burning in southern California that in just a moment.

"You you I mean your I I thought your team really battled I mean they they came out played hard right from the start in defensively yet yet limited the Chargers you made a really one dimensional they they want up sixteen carries on the game for thirty five yards yeah it a little bit surprising but you know sometimes things he would even though they saw that we had a hard time with the run last week they they still want to come out and play their game and they didn't take the bait and try and pounded honest and thanks for credit when they did run the ball we were much better obviously this week yeah I know you haven't seen the film but again my eyes appear yet if they get a couple of guys in for the first time in Alexander Johnson and Mike Purcell I I thought both those guys flashed a bit for young defense yeah you know it's always hard to see you have a better view of Purcell might be doing than I do but obviously AJ made some big plays could I had a second pick their I thought he would play good but I knew there'd be some trick trials and tribulations along the way he did make some mistakes that we didn't pay for but really happy for those two guys but I'm I'm just happy for all of the players no question final thought I mention the Chargers couldn't really run the ball you guys did in Iran it when you have to I got a little sticky in the second half of thirty two carries in the game for a hundred ninety one yards that's that's an average of six yards per carry they have with those average then feel like we're again six yards a carry we pop a couple big ones which were big yep and I was not happy to see us get the field goal at the end there obviously you know the last drive you know we're weeds it looks like we're just let them go down the field but it was just the percentages wise even if they've got the onside kick they would have had time for one hell merry so although it was painful to do that at the end I think it was the right thing to do no question about a congratulations go tap for it I thank you that that is Dave Logan with Vic Fangio a victorious.
