"And on and on, and he's going to have some incredible stories. We're also going to talk a little bit about Afghanistan. The Colorado State Health Department released some data yesterday on what they call breakthrough cases of covid. And what they're they're reporting a couple things that are interesting. First of all it it appears that if you are unvaccinated you have about of four time higher chance. So let's call it 3.5 time. I don't want to exaggerate. You've got about a 3.5 time. Higher chance of catching covid. If you are unvaccinated, then vaccinated when it comes to this delta variant. In particular that the real key points because I know some people are thinking well, if you could still get it. Why should I get the vaccine? So the risk of being hospitalized almost four times higher if your unvaccinated and the risk of dying Is almost six times higher if your unvaccinated so that's interesting. The other thing that I thought was particularly fascinating about this is that when they do case counts the actual number of cases based on testing and I know this could be a little bit an artifact of who's getting tested. But So far in the last week or two. The group that has had the most positive test the group by age, the group that has had the most positive tests are six year olds to 11 year olds. And the second most positive test are the next older group 12 to 17. People, 18 and over quite a bit lower and then the lowest group or 0 to 5. When you start looking at these big numbers for 6 to 17 in this big ramp up, starting in the You know, the second half of August? You do start thinking that maybe it's spreading in schools in a way that previous variants didn't I'm not saying that's been proven. I'm just saying, That's something that comes to mind. So you know, this data is out there now. I'm sure they're going to keep providing data to us if I could just do one little pet peeve thing with you. Reporter named Alex Rose at Kdvr wrote this sentence. State data indicates vaccinated people are nearly four times less likely to be hospitalized with Covid 19 an unvaccinated populations in Colorado. Please people do not use Formulations like four times less likely. That doesn't make any sense. Don't say times. If you were going to a smaller a smaller number. It is one quarter is likely not four times less likely. That just is illogical. Sorry. That's a pet peeve of mine As a guy who writes a lot. I just don't dig it when we come back. Michael Morrell.

"Did you miss it's time for wake up Call with Jennifer Jones Lee. Holy cow. It is five AM this is your wake up Call for Monday. July 5th. I'm Amy King in for Jennifer Jones. Lee. Here's what's ahead on Wake up. Call a fire burning near Gorman has burned about 1000 acres. Two firefighters have been injured. A lot of people ignored warnings of fire, danger, fines and prison time and went ahead and let off a lot of fireworks around the Southland last night. I know it kept me awake. What was left of the partially collapsed condo complex in Surfside, Florida has been demolished, Officials say. They brought it down so it wouldn't fall down at 605. It's handle on the news. We've got fires, fireworks and a new Fauci warning. But let's get your wake up Call started with some of the stories coming out of the 24 hour Kft newsroom Would you like our little War zone kind of sounded like Iraq like non stop explosions, despite pleas from officials around southern California for people to go to public fireworks displays, which were held last night after being canceled because of the pandemic the year before, residents in a lot of neighborhoods went ahead with illegal fireworks to Mark Independence Day, the L. A County sheriff's Department says it's dispatchers fielded. Nonstop calls about backyard fireworks last night, it says deputies also cited people for setting off illegal fireworks. Apparently, the fines can go up to $1000 and you could get a six month jail sentence. If you're convicted of setting off illegal fireworks. Health officials in Southern California have warned. Poor air quality is possible from all the fireworks last night, they say bad air quality is likely throughout the South Coast basin. So they've issued a particulate advisory and until at least this afternoon, the South Coast Air Quality Management District says the region could get to the very unhealthy category. Fire burning in Gorman has burned at least 1000 acres. It's 10% contained this morning. Two firefighters have been injured. The fire started yesterday afternoon. An evacuation order has been issued for an RV park in the hungry Valley area. The man arrested in connection with the illegal explosives that blew apart in LAPD Bomb Squad truck in south L. A has also been arrested by the feds. Arturo say Ha had just bailed out last Thursday after being arrested by the LAPD. But over the weekend, federal agents arrested Sejal for illegally transporting tons of explosives he bought in Nevada. Ceta is in custody and scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, prosecutors say. Say how about the bulk of the fireworks at the area 51 firework stand in Pahrump, But the improvised devices were bought from a guy selling the stuff out of the trunk of his car parked at the business agents say they now believe, say, how was storing £33,000 of fireworks and explosives at his home on East 27th Street, the federal charges carry a Max of 10 years in prison. He shoved down 76 hot dogs and the buns in 10 Minutes, which bests his record set last year, he said it just felt good. How can anything feel good after you shove 76 hot down hot dogs down your Wrote in like 10 minutes. Personally, I'll take one Dodger dog. That's plenty, but congratulations to Joey. Take an early look at traffic. I know when I came in looked pretty good, but from the Southern California Toyota dealers Traffic center, we make it easy. Good morning, Robbin Banks. What's going on in El Monte? Hi, Amy. Yeah, let's go to South El Monte on the 60 eastbound just before the 65. It's erect. That's on the right shoulder. It's getting a little bit of attention. So you're slowing there just right at the scene. It looks like as you make the transition to the 605 southbound might find some slowing. Extra slowing in Long Beach on the 7 10 north after Willow. It's the right lane. This block still had all the lanes blocked for a little while. At this location. It was serious direct. But right now, just the right lane and you would looks like you're moving through pretty well as a crash in Hollywood, 11 south before Cahuenga Boulevard. It's in the middle traffic lane. In fact, it might even keep the criminals away. So it's 1969 and John Lindsay didn't do anything about that Snow Storm in Queens. It's about 16 inches. The hard pack. You know, you make good snowballs out of it wasn't soft in melty Kew Gardens, Forest Hills. I remember people booed him. Rego Park is he was visiting. And the streets mean remain unplowed for a week. People wanted his head. So he had a primary. Then all of a sudden, John Marquis of Staten Island. It was like to patriarch of Republicans. Very pretentious, very academic. Not really a streak. I won the Republican nomination so that man, John Lindsay was stripped. Of his Republican Party nomination, so we had to go to the Liberal Party of Alex Rose and Dave Dubinsky. They gave him the line. He's running against Mario Praca Gino, the Italian Democrat whose father was a shoemaker. So what did John Lindsay do? Make up for that tremendous loss in the polls that propelled him back. Into becoming mayor. Unfortunately, a second time because it was like sticking a shiv in his twice one of the worst mayors in the history of New York City, and that's saying a lot. Let's go toe John, who's calling from Satin Island? Ah! What did John Lindsay do, John? He switched over Democrats. What else would he do? No, you're wrong. He couldn't be more hopelessly wrong. He eventually did become a Democrat. But he didn't run as a Democrat for second term in office, which paralyzed our city. He did it as a liberal party member. Alex Rose, Dave Dubinsky.
