"What's going on all right. So duleep is horrified by the baby's homophobic comments about what's going on rob so duly addressed her fence directly after the baby who's featured on her hit levitating as i love. The song of the summer made derogatory comments about members of the lgbtq community and those living with hiv and aids during a recent performance. Rob duo spoke out and she spoke out directly she said. I am surprised and horrified at babies comments. I really don't recognize this as a person i have worked with. She added my fans know where my heart lies. And that one hundred percent stand with the lgbtq community we need to come together to fight sigma and ignorance around hiv aids up. I am not surprised that spoke out. She is adored by the gay community her like an icon but fans want more than just a statement from do they want her to replace the baby on the remix of levitating. So if you were if you were duly but what would you do. It's very very tricky. Isn't it. i've got to be honest here. I've walked away from several people that i worked with friends. Amore difference but i think that more work colleagues and friends. I don't think they're hanging out together. They work together on a huge hit. Somebody that i worked with started to get really close with several people who had been involved in making horrible racist remarks and to my horror she defended them and i couldn't be part of that world anymore and instead of attacking her. I just walked away. But i won't have people ryan. May that are homophobic. That a racist. Just don't want to be part of that world even if it's just a casual work acquaintance i just stay away from it. There's no hit of the summer than can be worth really doing these outrageous things now. He's going after her nicer after she put out the statement. He's on twitter. Liking messages of people trashing her. So he's not going to go away from this debate. He's not backing down. He did issue. Sort of hoffa's apology. But it wasn't anything sort of meaningful now. I think he's proud about what he said. I hope i hope. And i believe this. She's saying that she's speaking at because she truly supports the gay community. I don't think it's a business move. I don't think she's thinking. This is my fan base. I can't lose them. I think it's her fan base because of her attitudes. I don't think it's the other way around. But how about you mark. Can you be around even in a casual work environment. People that make homophobic comments. Of course that you know. I'm very disappointed in the baby. Because i did like him. I like his music. I like that song them together and it just now. When i listened to i just feel differently. Does him the song and the fact that he's doubled down that he's gotten so nasty. The fact that elton john has stepped in other artists have stepped in and said like what you're saying is dangerous dangerous and not okay and ignorant is just overall really disappointing. My friend who's never really let me diamond. I think in my friendship group. We've all said city things. Maybe made a stupid tweet. Kim ebeen funny where we're we're actually not with just being cruel that happens but my friends are good people. Everybody that sort of in my real life is a good person where it's more difficult because you really pick who you work with you get in an office or a job and suddenly you're sitting next to somebody and you work colleagues but i don't want to be part of that world i don't want to be part of it. I don't wanna make excuses for. I just sort of stay away from it. And i think deluca get away quickly before we go to break. How does jennifer lopez really feel about her ex. Alex rodriguez so he's basically following her around the world. It's so bizarre story mark. She's in santro pay for her birthday. So ease he. She linked to an ice cream shop in santa repay. He went there the day after she went shopping his andarabai he went to the same stores. Twenty four hours afterwards. It's so so strange. So he's being reporting. How does she actually feel by ted. And they say the following quote she knows a rod is around but he's the last thing on her mind and she couldn't really care less. She's totally in love with ben and i think she finds it all a little bit annoying also too. It's a little bit of a compliment that he just call. Have you ever had an x. mark who just bothers you but you're sued like who you know it's funny. I kinda share jaylo sentiment whereas like number one. I'm annoyed but no i have. I have a really nice relationship with all my one that you've looked set. Come on this one that you've been meaning to. They got blocked. I block them on my phone. Never to be heard from again. I have this philosophy. Where if i block you on social media that also applies to real life so if you see me out your blocks my social media the naturally means you're locked in the room or the bar or wherever we happen to be. I different rules in person. What point is delegated blockade on social media. He still liking instagram posts. He's still sort of trying to get her attention. I will i think she thinks he's also stupid. It was funny because you know slowly. But surely we're gonna face him out buffets the other guys casper smart they disappear. Listen he has. He has a celebrity from being a baseball player but he will never reach the peak the head with jalen never never when he's been going to get annoyed now kind of like a hot blooded american male. He certainly has a temper. He has a little bit of an alpha male complexes ben if it was matt damon would be fine mats dahlin benz a little tougher. When's stan get nuts too. I think things are bubbling up right now. But he's he's still busy. They're still on the hot and heavy by a honeymoon period. But you know give it like a few more months. He's gonna get involved into each other in a restaurant. I'm not condoning this. I could see fly like the real housewives. i- dan hey right not a restaurant and those two wilton separately. i'd say. I'd say we're not leaving this restaurant tonight. Made you scott does and those two in separately. Slow down the service. We're going to be here night because there is going to be action. Yes yes.

"That have the cpi in their dna. What was the impetus for launching a fund instead of continuing to do it on your personal balance sheet. We're doing both so. Arc still has fully of about forty companies were taken about six or seven public this year and twenty one probably is saying next year so the market especially early on which was really hot and taking companies public through an ipo or back when we looked marked and i lifted the market. We saw a soft spot in the zone where a lot of people were not doing. What we're doing would be which is the following as we're looking to incubate companies or take companies. That are ready to cede level definitely pre a and a lot of these young entrepreneurs. They're going around trying to raise a million or a million five and mark. And i have we have to p and we feel there's a vision and these young founders or founder is capable of doing something really special will say forget the one and a half years ten will take forty or fifty percent of the company. Today will help you with your vision making more clear. Obviously we're give you the capital and we'll help you capture in the future and then we'll go out and bring the right people around to help us reach our goal so it was done beautifully with archer. Archer morgan i came in some one hundred million dollars. Mark was a big big investor. There i came in a little bit later and we took archer from one hundred dollars and it went public three point six billion and all these haven't been in less than two you're still we looked at their as taking massive positions on early stage or incubating or companies from the ground up the one thing about mark and i with a twenty five years fifty years between us of experiences. We have an army of people up there him attack me in sports and media that we know where the best players are. We have a big idea. We put the team together. We fund it and we bring the people and there we go some curious how you think about the spectrum of you started in real estate which were all these stable cash generating businesses and then you have venture on the other hand. Tra- speculative aggressive as you said earlier. Do you put like portfolio hat on for yourself in air sea and look at these things across the spectrum. The way my brain works is i like hedges. The reason why real estate was so on point for me is as i averaged career as is five and a half years for baseball player while i was lucky enough to play for almost twenty five years. So you can't forecast from me or any human beings play that long right that that would not be fair. Obviously didn't do that. But what i saw is okay. Let's just say play for ten years and let's just say that i'm twenty two when i bought my duplex. I figured that. If i bought one asks to of real estate a year per year mike competitive advantage was had very good w. income from my teams and if the real estate if i'm buying a piece of real estate and i could put some modest dead on it and about ten of them. What when i was aged thirty two i would have ten asa. That's over time. That will pay that down over time. They would appreciate in value. They would appreciate cash flow so by the time might earning power would wear down. My real estate portfolio will go up and that was the way. I started with real estate around baseball when i look. Adventure is almost exactly the same draw. Real estate is the cash cow that throws off a lot of cash. Nothing sexy middle of the road buying units from anywhere from hundreds. It's two hundred thousand per door. Were putting in seventy five percent fannie. Mae non-recourse dat put in twenty five percent equity. We usually refi all our money out in two years and we do it over and over again like nothing sex and excited about that but just an incredible cash machine on the venture sign because of who we are and what we've built in the brand with belt we feel like we can invest in companies at favorable terms with some downside protection. That has an opportunity to be a home run or grand slam in released. They never look at home of the grand slam. Singles and doubles so again is an opportunity that if everything clothes here the real estate will save us in vice versa. And how does sports team fit into that mix. So let's talk about the timber wolves. Yeah i mean. I think it's beautifully because if you think about why am is an athlete that loves business and when you think about a team in the nba blends in all those houses. First of all. I don't see it as a sports team that you and i grew up franchise used to go for fifteen twenty million dollars right. It's crazy fact. That george steinbrenner but the yankees in nineteen seventy-three from cbs. For ten point seven million dollars with a million dollars of equity is like flabbergasting. So i look at these platforms today more like media sports entertainment platforms. That are we look at the. Nba is a great league is is a league does global is a league has joined. The tailwinds is a league as young demographics and groin. Africa just opened up. Aj's it's very big in china and it has wonderful leadership great commissioner and. There's a lot of things like in the nba. What can we do with that franchise. Well if i did it alone. I probably would have done it but i have an incredible partner a fifty fifty partner mark. Laurie who is a wizard when it comes to tech and marketing housings is on with diapers jet dot com in walmart. I think together with my sports background in business and what he brings. The text line is vision. A and we're thinking about doing there. I think it's a marriage made the last. I'm curious how you think about the player perspective given that's your careers athlete and some of the things that you found productive for success. How can you bring that. Into a franchise like the timber. Wolves a lot of is the players are the stars and really making them feel that way treating not only them but their families and their parents in the levels around them is really about educating them. Setting them up to win one of things. Mark north thinking about his created an mba program for players. That's mandatory obviously. We'll have several the union players. Today isn't good enough. I grew up. I wanted to be like how ripken murphy. Rhonda's today kids want to be like mark laurie. I'm mark cuban. Just as much as they want to be like lebron james. Lebron james is both a great business man and have goat on the basketball. Where but the truth is is not good enough for these young guys or women to be thinking. I'm just going to be an athlete. They want more. And i think he'd be can provide more intrigue them where they feel like they are really the star and their families as we have an advantage to bring value to them not only when their plane but post their careers. You mentioned earlier about the blessing. And a cursor being a celebrity and curious as you reflect on that for a rod corp in your investing. What are the benefits. What are the drawbacks of being. So well known. I think the drawbacks start with that is i think they're going to compare you to athletes and entertainers last fifty years and is so easy to read an article so easy to say well. You're an athlete. There's no way you can be sophisticated. And so on and so forth. But i i gotta tell you i have athletes. That are my partners. And there's no better partners that i want to be in a fox hole with their smart. The gritty their patient they have perseverance. They don't quit easy. If you're down they don't give up on the score there down whine and complain. I'm here to tell you. Athletes are incredibly smart people. And i love standing up for them because i was wanting to know what kind of heart all kind of loyalty they hats and i feel the same way about entertainers. Now you have to pick one that matches you someone. That has your moral compass. Someone has your vision long-term vision. And i always tell people invest less not more but.

"The yankees wanted to hire. We have a gap about thirty million dollars. What do we do so we live. Goes quiet for like a minute and a half. I thought he died. I want the buffet. You there he goes then. I'm here. i'm just thinking okay. I got it. I got news eagle bagging steinbrenner's this and they're going to love it. I said okay great. I'm writing. I'm literally shaking my hand. I can't like gonna go with the yankees and warren. Buffett's helping me. And i'm just like some young kid from miami who's not very experienced this so he says okay. There's five big records out their home. Run records willie mays and he goes one by one. Hank aaron babe ruth said if you hit those five and you get a six million dollar bonus in each one of them. They will be happy. I said okay. Great that why would they be happy. He says because essentially they should be making sixty million and paying six ago right. That's perfect so sure enough. I call and get on the phone and say i got a great idea. I've been thinking sunday night. Said about this about for the record. Starting with willie. Mays sixty all the way through babe. Ruth and barry bonds hit each one of them. You pay me six million dollars a piece. If i had done you pay me non. I three payment for three. I love that. i'll call you back. So they went back. They thought about it there were in tampa and they call me back thirty minutes later. Said we gotta deal in literally two weeks later we had the press conference so as you were a player. You met warren buffett during that time Curious how you spent your time in such a way that once you're done playing baseball you're able to explode into the business world like you have a lot of. It is like everything else. I just studied. And i've made a bunch of mistakes one of my superpowers. Both gift incurs has been to their greatly. And i'll take great great risk as i've gotten older a much more averse to that and i think what more downside protection because i'm at a different stage of my life and an accumulated a different type of net worth but i've always been aggressive and played offense to athletes in particular. Ben became friends and mentor dramatic johnson. Greg norman. There were goats on the field. But then they became golds in the boardroom and i studied them incredibly deep and both of them are friends. In both of our mentioned i think one of the dinners. That kind of shifted entire career was about twenty years ago when i was with the rangers. I asked magic. Johnston for a thirty minute meeting. And we met for three and a half hours in a restaurant in beverly hills and he basically walked me through his rojo roadmap the good the bad and the ugly and kind of lessons learned in his career. And i've always admired magic the way he's gone about his business with his humility with networking and with his ability to execute institutional partnerships whether starbucks twenty four venezuelan amc theaters and also the mentor. So basically in a nutshell. The two big takeaways was. You should always try to do some television when you're done because that'll keep your name and your brand out there with the consumer and then to you should do as much public speaking as you can. Because even though people know you in the sports world you're going to be a novice and the business community. And i thought those to advise were incredibly powerful. And i've carried through that advice all the way through and have it from greg greg again. Another institutional guy very aggressive very confident really understands branding and marketing as well as anybody i've ever met. He spent a long time with me. And i didn't understand why he was hard on me saying you've got to come up with your logo. Come up with your logo. I make i. I got to come up with a business. That works is again. Get logo was important. Of course he has the great shark he has it on his golf courses. And a stakes. Wireless plan is god. But it's been a great brand. And he was in. Early guy took stock into i think can cobras in mid of small fortune and then kept building it from there but he had the foresight to say. Don't pay me a fee. Claiming ownership an equity warrants. An play beautifully at the time. He was one of the greatest players in the world is not the best so a lot of it is kind of big picture vision branding and understanding that is not just cash. Your equity has tremendous value. So once you stop playing and you really turn to a-rod corp fulltime how did you think about how you wanted to pursue the business and investing world number-one i understood the plainfield it gift and the curse of being an asleep of being someone. That's well known business a little bit before all these social influencers and kind of sit in in the middle of media entertainment. Sports influence her. But what i wanted most was not to have an image. I wanted to really work on a reputation. I wanted to have a world class championship team. And i wanted to be taken seriously by people like you and your colleagues and we went to the yale endowment if i met with you and and your former boss who passed just a few weeks ago to be seriously right and what what magic taught me is that there's not a meeting you couldn't get but let's be honest ninety and the united of those hundred meetings. Nothing's going to happen. Is you're going to sign something you're going to picture. They're going to get a picture for the grandkids. And you're gonna get nothing so before you enter those doors. Make sure that you go in with plan you can crystallize your story and you have a team that can actually execute. Whatever you're promising. And i just thought that was brilliant invites knowing that as a celebrity or an athlete or -tainer you're not going with no strikes going in with two and a half strikes where there's a big delta between going in with two hundred strikes and choking up and trying to put the bunk play versus thinking that it's a three. Oh count your celebrity and the deal is going to be done and.

"With how you first got interested in business and investing one forty five. Now i started thinking about it when i was probably ten. I call it matubis based on business. That was my ten year old thought. My forty five year old is the three bs baseball business in my babies that are no longer babies teenage girls who are sixteen thirteen. But that's kind of like the those of my world. Those theory and i think just from a business perspective. I wanted it to be a lot like my father. He was a baseball player in a banker. A mess lender. He was also an entrepreneur before people knew what that word meant and we had our own shoe store in arment in washington heights in new york at those really cool. They call my father like the cops later. Because was it was iphones. And he can figure out all the numbers in his head and in many ways. I'm not very good at english. But i'm pretty good at math. So i'm a lot like him. And then i remember watching him and he had all these suits white shirts and again. If you're gonna make closets. I have a few suits and white shirts and i love baseball so my lot like my father many ways and that's why i having kind of his entrepreneur spirit of building teams in thinking about sports and business at an age. When did that turn into investing investing started. Because i was fearful. I saw his thirty for thirty broke and other shows in read article about athletes and entertainers run into some tough luck. Post their careers and that scared the crap out of me. I just started looking at some data right as a teenager. What i saw was three things that just jumped off the page one baseball players in average of five and a half years you play ninety percent of career from age twenty to thirty and make ninety percent of your income from age twenty to thirty in less than five percent of baseball player sh at the professional level college degree. If you look at those three data points. I was sure what the stock of who is going to be long term wealthy so because those data points in the possibilities of run into financial issues i thought about investing in my early twenty s. How'd you start to learn. Started with my mom. My mother had several jobs. She was a secretary in the morning and serve tables at night. And i remember her bringing her tip money home and as a ten eleven year. Old chit here. No we're in miami. My father had left when i was ten. I remember. she will go into her massachu- man. I would help her get the mattress up and she would take her envelope of cash and put it in there. And i asked him on. Why not just go to the bank like there's this bank and the bank just right on the street and she goes well. We don't trust banks trust mattress. It was a telling moment for me. The other part was that. I saw the rents coming very quickly. Even those every thirty days for aransas. What we we never bought anything. We would always be in renton. We kept moving every eighteen months. Philip the renske every three or four days and it was painful for me to watch. I wanted to slow down time. And i remember as at eleven twelve year old boy went down to my knees and saying dear. God can you slow down time for my mom and number two if i ever get an opportunity to trade places with the landlord i will and sure enough. Ten twelve years later. I had my first opportunity to buy a duplex and needed a forty eight thousand dollars down payment. I needed a loan from the bank. I did both that led to selling for double and then a four plex flex. And then i ended up going up or folio just over ten thousand apartment units in fourteen states all over the southeast on belts i wanted to dive into all the different investments but i know somewhere along the way you touch base with their friend warren buffett and curious to hear the story of how you first met him. Wild story was in two thousand and one. I was the youngest free agent in the market and so drafted one out of westminster christian and ninety three as a seventeen year old teenager and that twenty four i was free agent input of the advantages out of coming out of high school and being in the major leagues at age eighteen was that you create a market much sooner said twenty four. To six years later. I was a free agent and there was a very healthy market. Economy was doing well at sports. And i got this really large contract. Two hundred and fifty two million over ten years by tom. Hanks tummy aches. Is a private equity guy. Leveraged buy out of texas and because the contract was so big but specifically because it was so long ten years were stunned. The market hadn't really seen too much of the last three or four years was almost impossible to ensure because there wasn't a lot of comes so we had no problem the first seven years but tom hanks is having a hard time with the last three years i guess he put word out in the market and basically said i'll take that piece of paper our insured if you wire this much money by tomorrow at eleven o'clock in the morning. You've gotta deal tom. Hanks and of course. I'm nervous because it's peterson shirt. Maybe there's a chance to go federal so warren makes the offer tom. Hanks sends the investment. Warren insurers my contract and when i heard that story i thought it was so cool. I cold called him. Debbie who's is longtime assistant. I thought i was going to get a call back or anything sure enough. They emailed me back. But i email. I wanna i understand. We're partners love to come see my partners. I want to say. I'm working really hard. And your investment is safe of me. That started a series of trips to omaha from miami. Where would i went about half a dozen times omaha and it was always the same thing. Though spent with rows of me in his office we will look at the portfolio. He will give me some great advice and then we'll have a great dinner and he always made me finish with a big sunday. You work hard to protect my investment. I was a running joke. Show i know from the first time. I met him and he goes. Oh seven oh eight you had recently signed with the yankees and he had told the story of how he was a little bit involved in that signing and love to hear that story as well. I was negotiating at the time. With the late hank steinbrenner randy and how steinbrenner it was my extension to come back because i had opted out and we were basically stuck at a number and we know how to get past it. So i had a lifeline. I'm like is sunday night. Would he do well. You call warren buffett. If you're lucky enough to have a man in your contract and it was an incredible phone call is probably three and a half minutes. But the i always say mr buffet. He says that was my dad. I'm warren search worn. We have a problem and okay shoot. Let me get a little notebook. And he rates down. What's the problem as what we're stuck at this number..

"And then for do go and these guys and it's paying dividends. Right. It's one of those things where there's guys like John Ireland. He's at oh, just trade. Everybody everyone. But Andrew Friedman stuck to his guns, and yes, completely completely transformed. The steam because baseball I think basketball is different in basketball, you can trade your young guys for Anthony Davis. You do do it because only six guys leading right. There's only right? One guy makes it you zip. Six guys in that sport in the NBA are transcendent. Right. The other ones, you know, you can debate after that the next four or five, but place them, you know No, they're. they're just not transcended. They're not. They don't they're not game changers necessarily. But in baseball, you look, Alex Rodriguez signed in Texas, back in the day, the largest contract ever. He was the best player in baseball. And they were a last place team. And he was an MVP. You know what I'm saying? So it's like that's that is the right strategy in baseball for sure. Right. Yeah. And this the way that they're doing this is just so different than every other team. I can't think of another team that's done the, the things that they're doing right now. They're smart. It's it's and really this the Lakers should look at the dodgers as a model as a model and basis kind of not, maybe not so much for the young guys. I'm a young guy guy, but they should look at it. And like how that Andrew Friedman he listens to the guys around him. He talks to them. He makes amongst everybody. There's a group, right? I mean he just his GM got poached right is right. "Some issues with Stanton coming back. Because when you look at the various choices that they're going to have to make if you play Luke void at first base, and you wanna play DD regardless and you wanna play g or shelhah and you wanna play labor Torres that means LeMay, who would have to sit and I don't think that's going to happen because LeMay he was to this point, probably been the MVP the team. They're not gonna just suddenly make Luke Voight a bench player. And he's never gonna play because they really value what he brings to that offense. And so I do think there's going to be a time coming up when Stanton as he comes back, there might be days, when Aaron Boone says, you know what we're gonna play other guys which might seem unusual given his contract. But I think when you look at the success of the team that may happen, what do you think? Yeah, it's a thrill. Interesting thing, we're just talking about the defense with the Phillies there. The may really good defensive player. He's a really good. Third baseman. You know that's why he's had those times in the majors in the past with Cleveland because he can really play third. Like is he hitting over his head probably? But as long as he keeps hitting air moons gonna wanna keep playing this guy. So I know those are infielders outfielders, but it, it more facts, Luke, Voight, because he's maybe the D H if LeMay who place. I so. Yeah, I guess it's a good problem to have how do I fit Giancarlo Stanton into the lineup? But when you're playing this well with these guys, you sort of hate to break, that momentum's so to speak. So Aaron Boone. Yeah. Good problem to have, but an interesting one and one thing to hold on that g or shell in the question of whether or not he's going to continue to hit because there clearly is a before. And after for him like there's a lightbulb moment, and I was not Alex Rodriguez spoke to him in Spanish on Saturday and explain this to us in our meeting on Sunday or shallow when he was with the Indians he got. That reputation that he was all feeling no hit. And the Yankees thought when they saw his swing their analysts said, you know, we feel like that, that could translate better. They attempted to trade form. They weren't able to when he was with the Indians, he went to Toronto. They got him. And so he's assigned to the minor leagues. And as he explained Alex, Phil plan, tear, the hitting coach. Aaa pulled him aside and said, look when I watch your swing you cut your swing off all the time like you, you don't follow through and you swing. You're not as aggressive as you could be inner shallow after that began to follow through and swing and began to, you know, in his drill work would exaggerate that motion of falling all the way through and he began to kill the ball and he performed great at the end of the year. He shows up in spring training and Aaron Boone like everybody else had heard, well, he's all field, and no hit and he's watching hit and he's like this guy can really hit and he basically has hit since he had that conversation. So I'm more open. Minded after hearing. Alex Rodriguez explained from shell is point of view. What has changed when I asked you this on Saturday about, what's changed? He said, you know what? For the first time I have as much confidence swinging the bat as they do feeling ground ball. So it'd be interesting to see how he does going forward. I got two more quick ones for you. Do you ever you know a peek behind the curtain before we got started ask you what you want to talk about? You said route. Stance and the style that he had on Sunday. And I'm just going to tell you right now I am in. Josh knows this. The least style is person ever act. Some just gonna bring Goshen to this conversation, you guys can talk to each other for the next minute or so what did you think of rude or doors pant? Thanks. Look, we do not need to bring back was in the nineteen seventy six White Sox. When Bill Beck put them in shorts for I think two games and there is basically rebellion in the White Sox clubhouse..

But obviously, I'm so happy that they are. I will listen, they're they're they're perfect for each other. It's like you see them now. And you think how could they have not found each other? Well, it's funny you bring that up so they actually met twelve years ago. And when she went to this baseball game, she had no idea, she would meet her future fiance there. But she did. So she was there with her. Then husband, Mark, Anthony. And they go down, and they meet Alex Rodriguez, and they just take a fan photo essentially with him and in the picture, it's kind of funny because she's almost like leaning into a-rod in the picture as if I don't know there's already a connection there twelve years ago. Cannot armchair quarterback this. This is the universe laying this out in front of them. Basically saying you two are meant to be looking. They're both wearing Yankees hats, obviously and martyr Yankees. Mark Mark Anthony wearing the Mets hat. Well, he plays for the Yankees. And and she's from the Bronx. So yes, that makes sense. But it's like, that's it like the universe is already kind of. It's funny. You see that picture? And you think that I see this picture, and I think that all of these moments, including our relationship with Marc Anthony made her the person, she is to have the right, whatever it is to be attracted to and within him and timing. The building blocks supposed to happen. It wasn't like, oh, I ran into him twelve years ago. And I know we're meant to be they weren't meant to be. Then they're meant to be now. You know, I get that one thousand percent and without Mark Anthony, she wouldn't never beautiful twins. And obviously, you need all those building blocks. And also pretty interesting to see a picture like this come on. Of course, it is. But it's like they're three famous people. Eventually they're going to meet on a red carpet or something. Right. But eventually they get divorced. And then she marries the other one, you know, what I'm saying, Patty. No, I totally get what you're saying. I'm on your side. I believe every single moment in his life and her life. But I also believe gave them that foundation to make what's great now. Great. I also believe that the universe already knew they were going to get married in this picture. No kill. No. I cannot. I cannot subscribe to that. They weren't ready for each other yet. No. Yeah. And then I agree with you on that Ryan wasn't meant to be then universe. New. Individuals. Idea. The universe knows how we're going to die. Like, the universe has the keys to the kingdom. Oh, speaking of death. I read a great quote. Oh my goodness. No. Let's keep talking about their engagement, not dad. But this is a great quote. It actually has to dovetail into your story. I just need to pull it up, by the way, emerald cut one point four million. Who? That's crazy. It looked like an ice skating rink a rectangle ice skating. That's perfect way to describe it. Here is the quote love the people. God sent you. One day, you'll need them back. Oh, oh my goodness. Beautiful. I think it's beautiful. Yeah. It really is. You love it. I do. All right. Well, maybe I'll use it for the quote of the day again in a sense. Coming up next six flags. Magic mountain tickets..

"Let's pretend that a bad team is above average in two of the following three areas hitting starting pitching or relief pitching. However the team is so bad in the third category. That it causes the team to lose ninety plus games. My question is which category is the best to be bad at from fence perspective. Again, the team is going to lose the same number of games. No matter what it's just a matter of which category would be most frustrating as the primary culprit for losing these games. Oh boy. Okay. So it's not relief pitching his not the answer because then because of human nature, you would just go into all these games where you're in the lead. And then you relievers blow it, and you hated that would be so terrible. There's nothing there's nothing in the same way. That I mean, your own mom thinks Marian Rivera was a bad closer the the expectations for for Boehner. So unreasonably high that I think bullpens are the last thing you want to be bad, which is funny because it's also maybe the least important part. So. So we're down to what was it hitting starting pitching? Yeah. He said hitting say, I mean, he said we could throw defense and base running or something in there. But it would be maybe tough to be so bad at base running for instance, ninety plus games. Even though you work good at everything else. So so defense, I guess we throw defense in there. I I would take defence. I I would rather just my team be really really bad defense because I think it's it's the hardest to see and the easiest to just kind of right off as I go. I don't know why this is happening. Our team is get so many strikeouts. Hit. So well one's good. But again, it's hard to have defense. It's so bad that you lose ninety games. If you're good at the other stuff like the Phillies had a terrible trying. But yeah. So this is I don't know if I have a good answer this. I remember like the Alex Rodriguez. Rangers had no pitching at all. And they had a really good offense. And they work embedded and all the Rangers hated that. They couldn't bitch. But I also watched the two thousand ten two thousand twelve era Seattle Mariners who had some of the worst offenses that have ever been. Right on field. And that was dreadful because you go into a game thing. Well, our pitchers better. Limit them to like run or none. Yeah. Or else and there's just so little to what? So it really comes down to rather watch a high scoring game where low scoring game. And I think people would prefer a high scoring game reserves just more of interest. But I yeah. I honestly don't know. I think you would be most tolerant or starting bitching. Yeah. I think so too. I think well, yeah. I think a a low scoring game the advantages that it's over quickly. So huge just lose less time watching this bed team. But in terms of entertainment, I think I would rather have the bed pitching. And the good hitting just because it's fun to watch good hitting and scoring runs..

I don't understand how she looks. This. Good is not fair. Do you think? Holly. I think there's a little digital manipulation and Oliver Instagram posts that being said Jennifer Lopez giving credit credit is due. Give it Jennifer Lopez. Alex Rodriguez are dedicated to their fitness, and they are dedicated to healthy living. You don't see Jennifer Lopez ever going out on the benders? Then you would end up at the diner at three in the she is a very regimented, and she's gorgeous and. Envious better. And better every year. She's on day, four of her no carbs, no sugar diet, which should last total of ten days, and she has been sharing this with people. I do live it. It's like she wasn't feeling. Well yesterday today, she's feeling better. You thank you for sharing. Like, though that she's saying there's work that goes into this going to mean because the worst thing is when it's like. You see the headline. That's just like so and so's celebrity says, she never works out. And she eats fries and pizza. That's total lie photo live. Perpetuates this idea that, you know, number one like, you just have no hope and number two that there isn't. I mean, there is some maintenance that is involved and some time and effort and choices that happen. If you want your body to be a certain way, if you want if you want to feel a certain way, or look a certain way, I mean, you pick your motivation, which is true. But yeah. Kaitlyn bristowe is dating Jason tarmac. Okay. This is said in the tone of voice of somebody who really has watched every single season of the bachelor and the bachelorette. The voice is. "A weapon to get even more draft picks and just continue to build that way. I mean, I agree that the Knicks are doing it the right way, the problem in the NBA is sometimes doing it the right way takes a while. Yeah. Still it's better than what it was. I mean, it's still better than the illusion that going out and getting certain guys, you know, whether it was Stefan marberry, even calm mellow. I mean, even him. I mean, you know, do you lose your net. You're going to be a good team. They had one good year. You know, what a team that was loaded with veteran guys. Okay. And then the future, and there really was not much of a future with that. And here they are. I'm with you max and Rosedale max, our you. Good. Good. Good. But first off hall of fame. I was just wondering there's definitely people with performance enhancing drugs in the hall of fame. Okay. I'm waiting to think if they admit it would it help the people and like Barry Bonds get in in the future. No. The guys are never going to admit it. They're never going to admit he'll be would it help. That's a good question. I don't think. So I don't think so me veteran veteran guy. I don't want to name a name. Because now, I'm basically accusing them this one guy always jumps right out of me that I think use performance enhancing drugs, but I'm not going to say his name and I loved them as a player. So I'm not gonna say, well, there's one guy to really I think of immediately. You gotta tell me off air. Okay. But if you agree to the prominent talking about Piazza, okay? The prominent guy came out and said, yeah, I got to admit it, I used steroids. I just wanted to perform I wanted to be the best I could be and I just want to come clean about it. I don't know. Maybe it would affect a lot of writers were they say, oh floodgate. Here's what I think would affect a lot of writers the old school guys who are in. All okay. Maybe Joe Morgan wrote that whole letter against the steroid guys. And all that guys like that coming out and saying, hey. We have to was what it was we need to put these guys in. They were to bid too much of a part of the game. And they were too great of players. I think you need that. You guys don't that's ever gonna happen old school guys who were in a wall of fame. Been played a number a long time ago to come out and say that kind of thing I don't know if that's ever going to happen. And you can make a difference. I think it was I think it would make it because all these guys are so against the old school players are so against the guys that did steroids. Right. I mean, they really are. Well, Alex Rodriguez made a very fair point the other day when he said he's rooting for bonds and Clemens to do well because it's going to help him. Sure. Do I think it's different? They rod because the reason I voted for bonds and Clemens your different. You've I think you've oh Fremont. Of course. But the reason I voted for Barry Bonds, and Roger Clemens is. I think they were hall of famers before they started writing steroids, the guys whose entire careers in question are further away from getting in and Alex Rodriguez is that his whole career is in question. Well, look, I mean, he's the admitted that he did it in Texas. So let's think about where that wasn't his career was relatively early enough on. Yeah. That's for sure. Joining us right now, a guy who may be going to Charlotte a few weeks for the all star game, but more important than that. He is one of the best players on the hottest freaking team in the NBA eighteen and five I'm still at all in shock that this happened after the eighteen start, and we're of course, talking about the ngelo Russell, the Angelo Joe and Evan you first of all thank you for this. How are you idea? Angela. How are you? How you guys man? I appreciate you guys. I really do. Are you going to be honest right as a net fan at eight eighteen I was depressed. I was cursing. Everybody out. I thought this season was going nowhere in that locker room. When you guys had that players only meeting what was talked about. And what helped turn this whole thing around because I couldn't have been the only one who thought. Well, this season's going nowhere at eight and eighteen and like I said since then you guys have been better than any team in the sport. Then I said I'm asking the greatness of sports, but we we had a like you said a players meeting in a lot of a lot of veteran players really step stepped up and spoke to a spokesman lettuce know kind of nowhere. What it was? And I just bought into it. And it just made the process of turning things around and much more easier de ngelo, I look at you. And I say boy this guy with the second overall pick to the Lakers, obviously, it didn't work out there. And that's made my. Mind. Very shrewd move to bring you in. And I think you playing with a big chip on your shoulder to prove everybody, especially L A wrong that I am. I was worth a lottery pick. I am a big time player and God knows you're showing it right now. I mean how much is that motivated you? Honestly, I mean, I I know I know what type of work I put in and I trust my crab. I never had to get back, you know, mentality or anything like that more or less you the number two pick once you come in. But once once you hear that all goes out the window. So I kinda I kinda realized that just just wanted to be the best I can be in and try to be the best professional. I could be is in enjoy the process on the way you've handled is very well. You're a pro. So I'll do this for you. It is very sweet to watch Laker fans. And Magic Johnson and Lonzo basically after a while you were become an all star in Brooklyn where we're enjoying that. Especially for the Laker franchise to have to deal with that. So you have to say it, we're doing it for you. It's a joy of watching. The Lakers have to deal with your success right now. That's how you guys. That's how you guys try to put it. But man, that's an that's unbelievable franchise. Those people know what the Lakers what they bring to the table in the history. So I can't really I can't even really dwell on. I'm not I'm not even really over there. So I don't really care about how they feel in what they're really doing. I'm I'm trying to be where my feet are. Now. You're right. You're you're handling it. Well, all class, my friend to that meeting because I have a feeling if this team goes on an even more incredible run that meeting is going to be legendary right? They're gonna make a movie about the players only meeting who hold it. I mean, you got a bunch of veterans on this team. Was there one specific guy? Who said, hey, we have to talk about this thing. It's an eight game losing streak. It's been a lot of bad losses. It was capped off by the Oklahoma City game. Do you remember who kind of initiated that meeting? Honestly, I can't recall I think it was kinda went sorta down the line of we have our normal meeting. You know, coaches and stuff, and I think that a veteran players, Jerry. Can we just have players only, you know in it just went down? It just went that route. We kinda got got what we need to get off our chest, and it and it was a success. I was talking to the the ngelo Russell of the smoking hot Brooklyn. Nets win again last night, the Angelo with a triple double last night. Why didn't you went to what was it twenty seven eleven and seven I think that was the numbers. Something like that. And I watch new plan. I'll tell you what I watch you watch it a little bit of the Sacramento game the other day, and you needs threes. Like, you know, like you were unconscious it needs threes. But I mean, you're right. I mean, but but the way you guys close games out. Now. I mean, this was a big problem early on. I mean, Evan talked about the team meeting. But that was a big problem early. Now, you guys I mean, we had in Houston was unbelievable now, you guys are closing games out. How is that changed dramatically? How has that changed so quickly really? We're coming to the realization that we can close games out. You know, we give give ourselves a chance, you know, all the way to the new games earlier in the season or. Sure, I would say we didn't finish them this year. We've had a little more success and been on the positive end of of the game. So it kind of gives us that confidence knowing when he takes to win. And then just just chemistry of our team. I think we're all better to be honest with those from the everybody on the coaching staff from the first to the last guy everybody is just getting better together. And I think that's what's really making things easier for us. We're talking to the ngelo Russell the Brooklyn nets. In a weird way. Did that eight game losing streak benefit you guys because there were so many bad losses down the stretch. And now like Joe mentioned, it's the complete opposite. Was that a learning experience that was necessary? Definitely definitely learning spirits. We got we actually got the dissect film each of those games in. Really, you know, see what what went wrong. Positive values. We gave ourselves a chance. I would say we kinda beat ourselves, you know, going into these games, and we don't beat ourselves outcome. You know, could could be completely different. And I think we know that we win those games that we lost. It's a different story. Kind of different earlier in the year. There was look like you and Spencer Dinwiddie couldn't play together. And it was talking about that. And, but that's certainly changed. I mean, you guys around the corner now together in crunch time. And while it at how about that aspect that you you know, how you guys now a meshing together. You went you and Dinwiddie to be honest. I honestly don't know came from you know, I think we we never really had a chance to play. So we were kind of learning learning on the fly any kind of in a it was getting magnified. But I always felt like we complemented each other's games. You know, and I think that's what we're seeing, you know, as a recent, and I think we would with which is ability to get into pain and get to where he wants to be aggressive at the same time. A lot of our players just myself, and I think. Any minus out there to drive off? It was and it is just me speaking as a fan. I never thought you guys struggled together. But it seemed like it was okay. This is your turn now. Now, it's my turn to dominate and lifting. I saw last night. And we've seen it a lot more recently is now you guys can dominate almost at the same time. And I think that's one of the big differences. I've noticed as a guy watches minute of this team that that we're seeing more of that now with you too. I may you, you know, basketball, you cut consider point guards alpha, you know, you're out for you want to run the show you want to put people in their place to be the best..

"I now have to take this bottom of the hour, excoriate our guy cliff because in the in the break, sometimes the best show, we do is in the commercials. We were talking about how the nineties were a different time, and sort of learning perspective of some of the younger members of the staff senior Mike about what's going on in the out of says, a speaker that my comeback with some music from the nineties. No that was dire straits from the nineteen eighties came back clip. Willing to acknowledge things happened before you were born when it's that far back in the life of clip, they all just kind of plan that was that was the dying days eighty sixty eighty. Eighties so much from the nineties. I appreciate the effort was my hardest full. Here's a one in the first column. So how much does it really matter? That's the way back to a major league baseball is trying to tell me right now. Now trying to tell me the my childhood doesn't matter sports, basically, they're trying to tell me you weren't getting new league segway king right here. Syncope and told by major league baseball, but my childhood is that your air as part of watching baseball has been wiped out. So that's what we're talking about. Now with straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Best phones, best networks, no contracts. We had the twenty one thousand nine hall of fame class go in on Tuesday night. And it was marvelous. It was glorious Mariano Rivera the first unanimous, Edgar Martinez A D H gets in Mike Mussina who never won a Cy Young gets in and ROY halladay who was brilliant albeit for shorter period of time than you normally think of hall of famers. He gets in. But the people that didn't get in again. And it looks like they're not going to get in based on the way, the vote is going berry bonds and Roger Clements two of the most dominant pitchers and players in major league baseball history, especially in their era because both have been painted with broad brush, a performance enhancing drugs. And again, they were in the high fifties. Both in the fifty nine percent, how need seventy-five basically, they need another sixty five to seventy votes in. This thing over the next three years. And there are those that don't think they're going to get that for for two guys that never tested positive for bond says he took it unknowingly Roger Clemens scream from the highest mountain top that he did not fun going back and watching those videos of baseball players testifying before congress it before congress RAFI Palmera, just pointing congress, you know, and then that coming back to bite him like by proof, though, actually there, and you know, Sammy Sosa all of a sudden, you know, the the broken English that goes all of a sudden can't understand some things it was somewhat amazing. That's what what went on there. But we know all our thoughts here, they they should be in the hall of fame. But how is it going to affect things going forward because they're not the only two guys that either a tested positive for PD's, which they didn't or have been associated with PD? They just happened to be two of the best players of all time associated with the association with Clemens. Is that trainer says he kept the needle and all that stuff every association opposite with? Barry Bonds was that trial Kimber the name of the belco belco. Yeah, we're the cream and the clear he says it was took. It was it was unknowingly flaxseed oil, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, your head grew. Okay. But the one who has failed the test. And as admitted that he used was Alex Rodriguez and Alex Rodriguez went on with I take and he was asked the first of all to make the case for bonds and Clemens. And I thought the answer he gave was really really interesting. I'm not gonna make a case for myself. And it's hard for me. Stephen as to speak about berry, and Roger can barely speak for myself. But what I will tell you this. I mean, look, I it's such a moving target. The hall of fame is the most prestigious hall of fame still of all time of any sports. And when I when we have a day where I have three really good, friends and Mariano in Edgar Messina getting in. There's a small part of me that feels that I got in. And I can't make a case I made my case when I made my mistakes, and I'm going to have to lay in my bed. I'm still hoping I can maybe one day get in. Listen, you, obviously when he was going through it Alex went through a lot to try and deny that it ever happened. It was suing people who suing the shoe in the eighties. Yeah. And he went after some reporters. I mean, it was bad. It was bad. But this version of Eric Alex Rodriguez saying, look, I'm owning up to it as nothing I can do about it. Now, I made my bed I'm going to have to lane. And I thought that was a pretty interesting and very introspective answer. Right. So I'll ask this question while you're human beings who vote you may not like the way people go about it. Should it make a difference? Should it make a difference that if you think Roger Clemens did it? He's denying dying denying should it. Make a difference at any never tested positive. Should it make a difference at a rod got busted? I mean. So what are you? You know, some people have said, I don't know how it got there. But he's saying listen, I made my own bed should that make a difference as far as voters are concerned? I don't think so. But I think baseball and the people that vote for the baseball hall. Fame. Enjoy the idea of contrition and being catered to. I think this is a group that appreciates that someone would care enough about their opinions in order to go out of his way the way rod has and that's not to say, it's just solely forbid for this. You hear any interview a Rod's done really since the time. He retired. It has been about the contrition for what he is how it changed him as a person in more ways than just the baseball sense. But that being said, I think that there's a group that's gonna like to hear this out of the voters not enough to put him in. But they're going to like it, look, here's the deal. And I think what will Cain said on that. In bump. We started the segment that makes a lot of sense. If you're going to take out people that you believe used even though you didn't prove it or did test positive, and and and were caught like Alex Rodriguez. You're going to have to say to yourself. Well, because I know about those people they're not in. But there is a large number of people who we don't know about that probably did use that are already in. So the point or going to be in. So the point is where do you want to draw this mythical line on a certain generation of sports? It's a joke. I mean, well, there's a couple of things understand during the quote unquote, steroid era when everybody talked about how baseball knew about it. But didn't wanna say anything because look what was going on who is running the show, then but sealer sealing in the hall of fame amazing how that happened and for people out there to be to be so again head in the sand do realize people before the so called steroid era steroids were being used yell. It doesn't matter just when it was right before it was tested for white. When it started to get tested for you on the NFL. They started testing what the late eighties early nineties steroids were used before that by players they existed, and you know, what baseball players used them before. The steroid areas. Well, it happened. So now, we're picking and I get it because you can say, okay, he tested positive for it. If you wanna use that as more as a marker. But now, it's like, wait. He's got acne on his back all his head guy. Little bigger. Whoa. I need to be on his head got a lot. Everybody is just putting it in the box. This these these years right here. This is Sarah era, crinkle it up and throw it out people come on. You can't be that dumb. Well, I mean come on. I think people aren't that dumb? They just want. They feel like it's their wall to die on before. They even the steroid thing. Do you remember Greenies? What Greenies listen, I bring this up all the time train people just want to laugh at me is they don't do as much as steroids skull. What's your line? Yeah. What's your line? Is something helps you and your statistics. That's exactly right. Now, we laugh at the low man that were bulls of that in the locker people are just a handful. Crazy guy. Those were hey, I mean, fine and meant nothing. That's the part. You're not taking it because you don't think it's not coming anything. So if you're okay with those guys that were swollen those things like they were Eminem. You have to be okay with the other stuff. Otherwise to Will's point. You're one hundred percent, right. You are being hypocrite. You're just choosing to be hypocrite and.

"And I want to get into Alex Rodriguez in a minute. Before I do that. Let's take a telephone call. Let's go to moral bay Curtis. Immoral bay could have you Curtis. How are you? Great Jim longtime first time. I love your show. Thank you very much. Good to have you on. Take regards to kyri urban and what he was saying to mend fences. My take is this. He's going to be a free agent at the end of the year. And I'm wondering if you know if he might be calling up LeBron two men fence is not only to say I knew where you're coming from. But hey, let's there's what we started out in Cleveland out in LA. Yeah. You know, it's not I have heard that Curtis. And there's been some speculation that maybe he's trying to set that up. We respond to that though. Good to have you on the show. Chris. Thank you. So kyri kyri forces his way out of Cleveland didn't wanna play with LeBron. And now he wanted to be zone guy. One Arizona team wants to be his own man wants to be a number one wanted to be that alpha didn't like playing second fiddle. And it's been said that being a star is not the easiest thing to do when it comes to playing alongside LeBron. And now you see kyri getting what he wanted. He is the alpha. He is the guy to Celtics res team in all of a sudden, he's calling up LeBron to apologize. And now he's got like this revelation like, yeah. Now, I get it. Now, I understand. So why is he doing that? Is he doing that? Because he wants to come to LA is he doing that to mend fences? He I don't know much like the conversation how Paul Flannery when we can't really figure out. What cou why he's going to do? I'm not exactly sure Kyrie's thinking, and what's. Rattling around his head. But let me ask you this. If he left Cleveland because he didn't want to be a second fiddle and then we'll play with LeBron. Why would he come to LA to be a second fiddle and play LeBron? He left Cleveland for that reason. Why would he do that? You know him bring up. The fact also daddy apologized to LeBron. It's also a good way of acknowledging that he knows that calling out his own young teammates is okay now, he's not a hypocrite. If he does what he didn't like doing there in Cleveland that makes me a hypocrite. But if you apologizes to LeBron and says, oh now, I get it. Now, I understand then he can do the same thing that LeBron did that he didn't like in Boston and not be a hypocrite. So what I'm saying is no, I don't think that means. He's trying to set it up. I don't think that means he's coming to LA. Because again, that's why he left Cleveland. He didn't want to be a second sydell. He wanted to be top dog. Maybe he just really does get it. Maybe maybe there is that moments. Like, oh, I do get it. Now, I understand that conversation. We all Paul Flannery. Maybe that was his way of saying. I was a young knucklehead there because I'm dealing with young knuckleheads. And now, I see it more clearly. One eight zero zero six three six eight six eight six so no, I don't think. So I don't think that's why he's doing that. So then you've got Alex Rodriguez and Rodriguez has been called a lot of things in his life liar. Fraud all Famer MVP drudge, eat, liar, fraud bag, all these things come to mind. Right. And then this guy actually pulled off one of the most amazing turnarounds one of the most amazing image rebuilds. I think I've ever seen three years ago. The Yankees stroked him a twenty seven million dollar check just to go away. To get out of their face today. ESPN and FOX are both stroking him checks to be the face of their competing baseball broadcasts about that. For a second got a couple of companies that hate each other. That are perfectly fine paying and sharing the poster boy for the Royd era, it's wild. But on my here hate, I mean, good work if you can get it in a rod got it. I'm actually here to ask a question. What's this guy going to be remembered for what is his legacy is he going to be the juice head the made out with himself in the mirror and forever gets locked out of Cooperstown. Or is he going to become a celebrate broadcaster and the voice of baseball for decades to come. I guess it depends who you ask. If you ask the current generation Malania lls, and Jen Xeres Alex Rodriguez is the guy J lo was dating the guy J lo is dating. It's actually. In quotes because it's a direct quote, a direct quote from a video that a rod posted himself to his own Twitter feed. The video was shot by somebody unknown person assumed to be with a-rod it takes place at a yoga studio were a girl who appears to be in her twenties is telling Alex Rodriguez that he looks like Alex Rodriguez only she did not know his name and had to look it up on her phone because to her he looked like, quote, the guy J lo is dating check this video out it picks up in the middle of the conversation. When the girl finds a picture of j LO's boyfriend honor phone and shows it to Alex Rodriguez..
