"Going to want to talk to Anaheim at three. They're gonna wanna talk to Columbus of five. They're going to talk to Ella at eight. If they want any shot at getting that guy. And it doesn't have to be Ekland. It could be anyone that's at the top of the draft the value of going from the 3rd 5th or eighth overall pick Down to where Colorado is at 28. Vegas is at 30. You're going to have to outbid these other teams when it comes to prospects by a lot. And I'm not saying Colorado in Vegas can't do it. But the only way they can do it. As if Anaheim Columbus L. A. They just don't come forward with even their second best offer. Because I think Colorado and Vegas is best offer is about as good as Anaheim in Ella's third. If Come to a Maxine come twice in the third overall pick and one of their other middling prospects, and Adam Henrique is a cap dump if that's their offer. Then Oh, suddenly Hello, Vegas with Peyton crabs. And Cody Glass. And the 30th pick. Like, all right, you're in the running. Hello, Colorado with Alex. New Hook in the 28th pick like you're in the running, but and that really those teams I would hope are in the Eichel sweepstakes. That they are aggressive in the Eichel sweepstakes. They have all the more reason to be in it, then the Anaheim's and the Ellas. Those teams have to convince themselves that they actually can be a contender. And I think they're nuts if they think they convinced themselves that they're going to be a contender. Colorado in Vegas don't have to convince themselves of anything. They are both elite teams. They are one and two and Stanley Cup odds for next year but online dot egg has. The Avalanche is the favorite for next season to win the Stanley Cup, and they have the Golden Knights at number two. But when you have Two teams. That have fallen short of getting to the finals in recent memory. The Golden Knights have lost in the conference finals. They lost in the for the second round a couple years ago. They've just fallen short and they have been searching. For this final piece. What is the final piece of the puzzle? The Golden Knights have been trying to find that out. They traded for robin letter. Thinking up flurries the problem, and for a time he was our goaltenders just not up to snuff. Let's go get liner and let's pay him. Uh, patch already. We need another, but not just patrimony. Mark Stone. We need elite wingers that are not that we can complement Jonathan Marsh Show and Riley Smith. We need to upgrade what our first line is. So they went out and they got patch ready and they got Stone. Then they thought, all right, That's not it. What's the final piece? Maybe it's Alex Pietrangelo. Maybe it's that number one franchise defenseman Shea Theodore kind of qualifies as that. But Pietrangelo is that that is An elite defenseman. Norris caliber defenseman Stanley Cup champion still in the prime of his career, Alex Pietrangelo, let's go get them and they gave him the best offer on the market. What's left? Vegas still thinks there one piece away. There's only one other place they can turn. And it's that franchise number one center in the only guy they can even conceivably get their hands on this offseason that fits that description. It's Jack Eichel. And what you need in Colorado. A lot of those same vibes fit they've lost in the second round two years in a row. Nathan MacKinnon. Showed frustration and his post game press conference after they lost to Vegas in the second round. They are reportedly getting into it. With Gabriel Landeskog and contract negotiations. They are far apart. Landeskog has been there, captain. He was the youngest captain in NHL. I think when he became any might still be He Has been a very good player for a long time for them. But the Avalanche Not just giving one of their guys Landeskog, whatever he wants might be an indication that they're not satisfied. That They might think they need an upgrade from a guy like Landeskog in their top six as their second best or third. Best forward, I should say after McKinnon Rantanen And what you need is you need Vegas. You need Colorado to show that ultra aggression and maybe because the to compete with each other in the same division and compete with each other last year in the playoffs that they might be trying to outbid the other. Colorado is not going to want Vegas to get Jack Eichel. No way because then they're going to shoot to the top as the Stanley Cup favorites, and Vegas likewise is not going to want to see Colorado get Jack Eichel because then the separation, the potential gap between those two suddenly swings in the avalanche favor. What you need. Is those two bidding against each other, Not even for one of them To ultimately get Eichel would be nice. I'd be okay with Vegas's best offer right now, and I would be, I think okay with Colorado's best offer. Peyton Crabs, Cody Glass offer that involves a couple of firsts or new hook in a couple of first. I don't know much more about the other avalanche prospects Been a while since I looked at them, But new Hook is really I think the guy there Those are all right. Those are all right. But if they the Sabres could weaponize Colorado in Vegas to get Anaheim in L A to give you their best offer. That's where you want to end up. You want Kevin Adams be able to look Bob Murray in the eyes and say, If you're not giving us Trevor's egress or Jamie Drysdale, we're doing business with them..

Nathan MacKinnon Kevin Adams Riley Smith Adam Henrique Bob Murray Alex Pietrangelo Cody Glass Mark Stone Shea Theodore Jack Eichel Peyton Crabs Gabriel Landeskog Jonathan Marsh Show Jamie Drysdale Alex Landeskog Golden Knights Pietrangelo McKinnon two years

"Are comfortable exposing in the draft, You know, maybe a guy that does have a bigger cap hit but can still help contribute if Seattle take some, whatever. If you don't and you get the guy you'd let them play out his contract here one or two years or whatever it is and move on. And then the assets that you're getting in like the younger assets for the first round pick. Obviously, the first round pick doesn't matter. But you know you're younger assets, your prospects that are coming in. You don't have to worry about protecting them in in the expansion draft, they're ineligible to be picked or whatever. So that's also something else. The factor in the situation, but it's it's It's why it makes it so interesting heading into these next couple of weeks here because Are we going to see a Jack Eichel trade for purposes of, you know, moving on from him and then allowing yourself to protect other younger assets? I don't think that's necessarily what the mindset is. Because you still have to get the best value you can for Jack Eichel trade, But it just is another wrench to throw into the whole scenario in the situation. So I wonder where Granado comes into this because Granado impressed a lot of people because he seemed to understand how and where players should be used on the ice. More so than a lot of people who had been in that organization previously going back a long time. So Granado having a sense of like we're going to play on her at center. We're going to give these guys minutes those guys when it's and seeing all those boats rise, right? If he and Adams are talking You would expect Granado to kind of impart that kind of viewpoint of like this is these are the guys who were going to be using these. This is their best utilization. These are the guys who are maybe expendable because their usage does not fit into the thing that we're trying to do. If they can do the one thing they have not been able to do for 15 years, which is to correctly identify the talent they have and play it correctly. And if that changes with Granado You need to move the guys who have still have the advantage of like convincing. The leagues are good. If the reason people say Will Borgen was available in the expansion draft is because their assumption is what you have to protect, crystalline in good their marks. You can calm them and if their national reporters, they sound like the dudes, they talked to who all work in the other front offices. So it's plausible. You can find a front office dumb enough to take grass, mistrust the line in and give you something back. It should be an easy trade to make. He's affordable. He wants to go. He's got all the kinds of tools that convince you that he can be good, right. He's the easiest trade for them to make. Yeah, and you at this point again, you just even if you have to retain a little bit of salary with Risa lining You trade him. You get him off the roster. You open up some some cap space and you get the best value. Can Vegas traded Nate Schmidt last year? Who's a better defenseman than Rasmus Crystalline and can play both left and right side? And He was. I think it was like 1/5 round pick that they got back for him from Vancouver. Yes, I get it. They had to open up cap space so they can make the the Alex Pietrangelo signing. But at the same point, it's one of those situations where Okay? We have to get this guy off the roster. Somehow it's a different situation given for Vegas compared to Buffalo because risk linen has openly said, like, you know, I don't want to be here for another rebuild or, you know. Hey, I know I'm going to be traded, you know, because changes are coming at this point. If you're willing to make that trade, just make the trade make it happen and get it over. It's so easy to make the joke, but they gotta call Edmonton. Love dudes like him like and you just call them to be like, Listen, give us a pick and give us one of the kids from the from the from the farm team that we like, and we'll get out of your hair and you can get this guy and play him 40 minutes a night. They could call Jim Benning in Vancouver to let's squeeze in a quick phone call here. Bobby Niagara Falls has been sitting on hold for a while, Bobby, you're on W g R Go right ahead. Hybrid. Hi, Corey. My buddy thinks, of course, that they should trade cycle and Reinhardt, But I'd like to keep both of them. But can you How can you keep two players that want to be traded? Doesn't that mean they would try less? And that would be bad for morale. What's How do you keep people that want to be traded? Can you do that? I mean, certainly anything can change its its I mean, we We definitely don't know exactly what how the inner workings of the Sabres work. I mean, this is why we're sports talk host. We we talk, and we speculate and, well, we banter off people back and forth. I appreciate the call Bobby. Thank you. It is difficult to dry and make someone happy like a Jack Eichler Sam Reinhart, where they've been here for as long as they have, and they've known nothing but losing. They haven't even come close to the playoffs. Once I get it, you could say, well, there were three points away from making the return to play plan and that would be considered playoffs, which NHL sometimes doesn't consider it playoffs. I consider it playoffs, but Yeah. They haven't even come close to making the playoffs. Since they've been here. They had that nice little 10 game win streak. It's probably the high point of the entire drought for the Sabres this entire 10 year drought that they've had they've matched in NHL record for the longest playoff drought in NHL history. Do you see it ending anytime soon? Don't think Jack Eichel season ending anytime soon. I don't think Sam Reinhart season ending any time soon..

"He would kind of you would kind of fill in what they need. We're with Justin Emerson Las Vegas Sun he covers the Golden Knights will get to the prospects what might be coming back in a potential trade in a moment, But you mentioned some of those big acquisitions. And with that came big contracts. Now Michael carries a big contract. Five years $10 million cap number. How is Vegas positioned in terms of the cap? Would they have to make other moves to make his contract fit in? They would They have about $6 million in cap space going into the next top, Even with most or this offseason, With most of the team coming back, they're going to need to figure out a new deal for Alec Martinez decide if he's going to come back to their blue line or not, but other matters. But here's Danmark Thomas not sick, and that's it for their free agent, So their team is pretty sad, but $6 million, even if they don't sign Alec Martinez and isn't enough for Jack Eichel cabinet so they would have to make some other moves elsewhere. And and they they've always shown that they're willing to do that. Last year, They traded away post as me and made Schmidt basically in encapsulated moves they had room. Sign Alex Pietrangelo this year they could, they could make the moves elsewhere. You could look at Riley Smith is on an expiring deal. $5 million left on his contract. He can move Alex Tuck, who I would imagine would probably be part of a Jack Eichel crate. I guess we'll get to that in a second makes close to $5 million, so that frees up space. And if you really want to do the big thing last adopted and they tried to trademark Andre Fleury, and they couldn't get any takers, so If you're looking at that he just won the best not, but that's $7 million with Robin Leonard waiting to go If you wanted to work out a deal, maybe elsewhere. I don't know if he visited in Buffalo, but you trade flurry elsewhere. You You free up $7 million in Count state them And suddenly you've got Jack Eichel money You mentioned Alex Tuck. Yeah, I want to ask you about what pieces would be available and I was going to go with prospects. But let's go with tuck first and whether or not he would be available, and if he's one guy, Justin, are there other guys you think that are on the roster? Younger guys that maybe are in the NHL already with talk that could be in consideration for a trade. Sure. I mean, you look at big trades like this, and it's always freaky bases right. It's always the first round pick a player in the prospect, and it's kind of that quality of player and prospect that that makes or breaks the deal and Look at the players on the Golden Knights roster, and I think you've got that Alex talked is is the young player that makes? I think his captive 4.75 million over the next five years or so, so that I think would be really, really enticing to Buffalo. I mean, you can. You can tell me more about what the savers need, but that's the guy that's from upstate New York. He's He is young. He's really He's a top six player that kind of stuck on the third line for the gold mine because they have Mark Stone and Riley Smith, But I think that player that would be very, very interesting. For Buffalo. Other players you look at, you know, Cody glasses had a bit of a disappointing year since he was the Golden I first ever drop. Pick six. Overall, He hasn't quite developed the way that gold might have hoped. But maybe a change of scenery does him well. Peyton credit is more of a prospect. He's a cold night that brought back to the center. He played a couple of games in the NHL. So I think the pieces are there if the Golden Knights were willing to kind of the kind of deplete some of the young young talent on their rosters that could that could satisfy the neighbors. It's not a short discussion if you want to talk about what do the Sabres need just about everything? I mean? I'm not ruling anything out at this point, Justin But But you mentioned credit. So yeah, Let me ask you about the prospects and as long as you know, I was going to have you talked about, you know, the so called guys that would be untouchable. The best players that are prospects they wouldn't want to get rid of and preferably somewhere in this discussion is a center because if they're trading Eichel and they they might be moving on from Sam Reinhart. They need to feed Phil Center spot openings here. Sure, Yeah, Al shut out such a great player out stuff to wear and that there's nothing wrong with that. But you're right. If you're going to trade Jack Eichel and maybe move on from Sam, right hard you're gonna need you're going to need a pivot coming back and Eating crabs would be that guy, and I think that would be if the Golden Knights were willing to include him in the deal. The guy that gets it done. I just don't know if the golden eyes would be willing to include him. This is a team that That is that the older veteran team doesn't have a lot of entry level contract. If you're going to bring in it, a million dollar guy like Jack Eichel, you're going to need younger players on entry level contracts to make the money work just to speak out compliant for the payment. Taking credit of their top prospect. I think he was going to play playoff games before he fractured his job at the end of the regular season. He's 20 years old. He just finished. His junior eligibility will be in the NHL. Somewhere next season. I imagine the golden I hope it's Vegas and and I think that that might be the guy that holds up the deal. I'm Buffalo. I'm asking for crabs and up on Vegas. I'm holding firm on that one. So if Vegas can make the deal happen without him, I think they'd be ecstatic. But you're right other than Krebs. They don't have a ton of center. Uh, prospects that are that are near the NHL level outside of maybe glasses. Still 22. But I'm not sure what his trade value is right now. Anybody in terms of prospects Justin is there anybody outside of center, then maybe you pair with a first round pick or talk or some other combination. Yeah, they've got Brendan person who is he is a winger. He just finished his freshman year at the University of Michigan. He was their first round pick last year. He has terrific slapshot. He's you know, I think he's going to be a real good scorers in the NHL. You have a couple of guys in the American League. Jack Dugan, let me double am scoring two years ago. He's a He's a path first winger, um you've got you've got some guys that can make it work. I just don't know if it's kind of on the the AIDS here prospect that that Buffalo would be open for final thing for you. Let's pretend Kelly McCrimmon is talking to Kevin Adams, right, and they can't agree on Eichel. But the Vegas Golden Knights still want to center. Could Kevin Adams say, Hey, Kelly, while I got you have any interest in Sam Reinhart That's an interesting question, because I think that if they're going to get center because they do have you know Chandler Stephenson and William Karlsson did really well, it's top six better..

Kevin Adams Justin Emerson Jack Dugan Alec Martinez William Karlsson Sam Reinhart Kelly Kelly McCrimmon Mark Stone Michael Chandler Stephenson Robin Leonard Justin $7 million Alex Pietrangelo Buffalo $6 million Sam Alex Tuck 4.75 million

"I mean, and Jack Eichel's healthy is one of the best players marrying shell hands down. He is a great player, and that's the thing that we, you know, kind of forget when a guy is out of sight out of mind for a while, and obviously, with the injury situation being what it is, you know that's not ideal in terms of getting full value, But I still think that all these other teams are going to be bidding against each other. That's usually the best way to get the leverage is that you know you have a lot of people that want to and I think there are plenty of teams that do and would be interested in finding out more about the health situation in order to make sure that they're making the soundest and dressed They can. That is Chris Peters from hockey sent to his arm was show up at the Bulldog earlier this week. We will talk about Vegas in a moment and possibilities with the Golden Knights If Jack Eichel is indeed traded on the Let's get connected with our fans brought you by Bon Shannon and King Full service Buffel law firm on the Discussion about what you'd like to hear from Adams and or Granado at 11 o'clock this morning, Robbie tweeted in that they're keeping Jack regardless of his desire to get traded because they have no obligation to trade him. Johnny Tweeted in Joni. Johnny J O N Y Sorry, Uh, on our discussion heard us talking about Bobby Bunny a day. Getting paid by the Mets again today. Today is also he reminded me are Yeah, I forgot about this. It's Rick dp Etro Day, which we just don't honor. Apparently, DiPietro is still getting paid by the Islanders. $1.5 million every July 1st. Through the 28 29 season. So up to July, 1st 2029. He gets a check from the Islanders. Thanks for that. Jack Eichel. We're continuing our discussions going around the league talking about possible teams in a Jack Eichel trade. Would they be interested? Who are the top prospects? What could possibly happen shortly after Vegas got eliminated, They were thrown into the rumor mill. Uh, as a team that might be interested in upgrading their top center spot and adding Jack Eichel. Let's find out more about that. We are going to the West or hotline, and we're going to be joined by Justin Emerson, who covers the Golden Knights for the Las Vegas Sun. Just in from Vegas perspective. Would they be interested in Jack Eichel? Let's go from there. I think they definitely be interested. It's going to come down to what the cost is going to be and and basically how much it's going to cost the Golden Knights. You look at their history. They've never been afraid to go out and get that Star player after the first year with Max Patch already that trade deadline, they got Mark Stone. Then it was Robin Leonard. Then it was out the trans alone. So you look at that. That's two wingers, the defenseman and a goalie. So it seems like they're missing that Star Center to go good and Is looking at the way that the Golden Knights have done business since they have operated. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were if they were making calls for Jack. I go right now. Having said that, Justin, I was curious the pursuit of the pursuit of big name guys and moves like that. Does that come from the very top? Is that Bill Foley? Is he And is he someone who would look at this and tell us GM? Hey, Iculs available. Let's go get this kid. I think it's a combination of ownership in Bill Foley, who is willing to spend he's never been afraid to say Okay, we're going to be a cap team that first year we're going to do everything that we can to bring a cup to Las Vegas as soon as possible. And then they put in Ju two guys at the top. George McPhee, the president of hockey operations, and Kelly McCrimmon, the general manager, who are who are just naturally aggressive in their moves. They did that at the at the expansion draft. They were You know, they wheeled and dealed a little bit before they ever even had a team And then they they went out, and they identified players that they wanted to bring to the Golden Knights and and went out and got him. Whether the captain was an issue or not. They've always seemed to make it work, so I think it's a combination thereof, the owner of the front office of just kind of that that culture they're trying to establish Vegas have established for four years. Now. I'm doing whatever it takes to win hot here. When you when you look at their depth chart right now, how are they? How do they stack up at center? And are they are they in desperate need of adding a guy like Eichel, who I assume would go right to the top of the list. Well, that's that's what makes Vegas connection to Jack Eichel. Interesting is that center is the one position you can look at them and go. You know what they need an upgrade them. They have William Karlsson. He's probably the best center on the game he plays on the second line. Chandler Stephenson, their top line centre, which he doesn't necessarily seem like a top line centre. But this has come to Vegas. He's been in perfectly on that top line with Max Patch ready and Mark Stone. So he has complemented the two star wingers perfectly and has been exactly what they need. But after that centered epistle is better depth is fine. They have Nicholas. What? How much notice of free agent keeping Cola? Sorry. These guys are good, but they're bottom six centers, their role players and, uh, you look at it and you can go. You know what a start Star center would fit in on? This seemed pretty good. And Chairman Stevenson got hurt in the playoffs. You can. You can see how badly center depth personal tonight so Yeah centers the position that they need the most. If they were going to go and make a big boat, Justin, do you think you know They've had obviously a lot of success in such a short time, including a berth in the Cup final. Just lost in the conference finals with what you were talking about at center. That particular position would they view an acquisition of Eichel as the quote unquote final piece to the cup puzzle? I think they might. I think they might have been. They've come close to this kind of this final piece is kind of in the interesting part because it was Mark Stone kind of kind of started things like, okay. Wow. This game is serious. They're going to go out and get Mark Stone. They're going to give him $9.5 million and then it was Robin Lehner, despite them, having Marc Andre Fleury, and then it was Alex Pietrangelo, despite them, having gauge Schmidt. They've always found ways to upgrade wherever they can. But, I mean, you hear the adage so often that star centers of the most important thing in hockey, and that's the one thing that they They don't have. William Karlsson was spectacular. That first season, he scored 43 goals hasn't come close to replicating that sense. So I think if you are looking at puzzle pieces you can kind of you can kind of see him falling in place and see where Jack Eichel fits on the Golden Knights. And if you were to come to the team, I I'm not sure that you can really point. Anywhere on the team and say, Yeah, that's the weak spot. I think he would..

Alex Pietrangelo George McPhee Jack Eichel Robin Lehner Mark Stone Marc Andre Fleury Kelly McCrimmon Robin Leonard William Karlsson Justin Chandler Stephenson Justin Emerson Chris Peters Bill Foley Robbie $9.5 million $1.5 million Johnny 43 goals DiPietro

"Get Eichel because they it doesn't really make sense for them to be desperate. The only team you can make that case for is Vegas. No, we had this rumor from Lance Lisovsky of The Buffalo News today on William Ekland. Sounds like the best idea possible for the Sabres. Should they get that third pick from Anaheim? If you trade with the teams that might give you their best offer, you're nowhere near picking a guy like him. You're not picking William Ekland. Vegas is the one team that is starting to become more and more popular and being mentioned a lot. We haven't heard anybody necessarily report there in a nickel, but They've got. They have a need for first line center, and they are an ultra aggressive organization. Signed Paul Stassen into a big free agent deal that didn't work. Let's move his salary off and let's go Trade for Max. Patch ready and let's go Trade for Mark Stone. That's not enough. Let's go get Alex Pietrangelo. Monster free agent contract. Oh, flurries having a down here even though he's the face of our franchise. Let's go trade for Robin Leonard. Give him a big contract. Vegas just They're all in all the time. And you could do one of two things with them. If you can get them to be the aggressive team in this market, because you've got to have one. You gotta have one because either you're going to take that team's best offer. Or two. You're going to use them as a bargaining chip. Because guess what? Anaheim if you want to give us your third best offer. Well, now you can be outbid by Vegas. So if you if the Ducks if you really do want Michael You've got to give us your best offer, because if you don't we'll just go with Vegas. You know? I think the Golden Knights could be key to the Jack Eichel trademark it but We don't know at this point, if there even in it. So I had to be said. Because we don't know Vegas is in it. And because Gregor today, said. For the city. The quote was, the Sabres might have to lower their asking price. For the For these teams to get involved or to engage. Was it what he said. And that that sounds That sounds awful. Who wants that right now? Who wants to hear that? That while the Sabres can't move Eichel right now, because they're asking price is too high. No, Someone come meet their asking price or you don't trade Eichel. That's kind of the attitude. I want to take. But of course, there's a lot of downside to pushing that trade off. All right, that's going to do it for me tonight. I gotta run. We've got the Stanley Cup final coming up next game two between Montreal and Tampa based stay tuned. Cheers. Restaurants. Thank you from.

"You think, Keynes and no brainer Because I'm I don't. I don't think he is, but I think I would lean to Yes. I think we named the three that are the no brainers. And from there there are solid discussions. You want a defenseman in here was Erik Karlsson. Generational. No. Was is I mean, look, I'm trying to think of a defenseman who was generational, right? That's right. I mean, now we're you know, we're getting to like the old Bobby Orr discussion. I don't know that I have a guy stronger. No, No, I don't have laws Keep going or is Lidstrom. Lidstrom. Yes, that's your best bet I think. Yeah, right. Lidstrom? Yes. Yeah, That's your best that good that long the best at what he did? Yes. No, Chelios, Um Bork. It would be the next guy would nominate no on board, huh? So Jesus, let's get some text on this other other names is pretty good Names coming Intense Hman, Obviously. Rasmus dulling, Um Boy. Who else? Jonathan quickly of defenseman recently have gone into the hall. I mean, I know that Al McInnis no, um, we're missing. I feel like we're missing some defenseman really badly. Nobody from Pittsburgh like now, am I going back to like coffee? Uh, he's not generational. No. Yeah, I don't know. But I think a defenseman is a harder discussion. Um, I love the Kaine discussion. That's really it. I'm really struggling with that one. I I I think he is, but I can't. Yeah, it's not a slam dunk. Uh, Here's a text. Zidane, Achara. No. Mm hmm. Club. I wouldn't take him over Lidstrom. No, I agree. Uh, I just wouldn't I mean generational. It was your really, really you're talking about again. How often does that guy come along? Only char was a freak show. Obviously, usually don't find six FT seven defenseman who are like him. All right. Ciara, huh? Let's go to goaltender. Harsh. Yes, Yeah, There's no question Hashtag Long Quist. No. No, because I mean, Mike Richter was a really good golly for the Rangers to his numbers hanging up in the rafters. No, it's not going to retire. Long question. Oh, for sure, he'll be retired. But that doesn't make you generational. Yeah. You know, you can be a great player of your number, retired and not be generational at your job, carry prices and no, no, he was drafted fifth. Overall, There's there's like that's almost like the Eichel conversation has carry price lived up to the billing. Of the fifth overall pick right. He's supposed to be Marc Andre Fleury was the first overall pick. Yeah, because Cary Price often has been the face of their franchise and had some great not lately but has had some phenomenal seasons. Yes, I think he's lived up to what the building was freedom. Yeah, I mean, he's Into the All Star game. He won the Hart Trophy. That's pretty good for a goaltender, and there have been years where they made the playoffs, chiefly because of Carey Price He's not once won the Vezina Mhm. You get drafted fifth overall. Best goalie, you know, blah, blah. No visit us. Has. You know, Mark Country floor is a tough one. There. Generational Goalies, um, Tajik and it's wok. Yeah, And I mean, does broad or get this treatment. I know right like that. I think I don't think so. Martin Brodeur cannot be generational, right? Don't think so. I don't. I mean, we're talking rarefied air at their position. And I know he's got I get it. He's got the cops and we got some defenseman being texted ahead. Scott Niedermayer, No. Alex Pietrangelo. No Scott Stevens. No. Brian Leetch. No, no, He's really, really good. But again, generational is a big step. It's a really lofty thing. You can be amazing and it's no like we said No. One. McKinnon. Yeah, And he's great. Amazing. We're talking like one of the best ever to play at your position makes you like Ovechkin obviously and Crosby, right? Those guys are generation. I think a texter has it right. It's one of the best in 20 years isn't a generation 20 years. Uh, Yeah, I guess that's about 30 tops. The idea is How long it takes you to have kids. Yeah, That's what I'm saying. 20 years 30. You can get to 30 have your first kid and that's the next generation some 30. I'm stretching 20 to 30 year window, then that's how good you have to be. No. And Lidstrom's in that window. Yeah, I think lynched him is the best out of everybody We named unless you're a fan of Ray Bork. Thanks for the text. I mean, I think it's a Good point to bring up. And I mean, look at the conversation. We got out of it. Yeah, I think the priority just making big contributions. That's why we That's why we get connected with our fans. That's right. I think that's what's going to hurt if Iculs traded right and we're closing, Let's say we're closing the chapter on the Sabres career, and I don't know what the future holds for him, but I think it be self. He's going to have a great career. What's going to hurt him? Yeah, is you're going to look at and go. Yeah. Okay. You can give me a stat line. 300. What is it 350 something points and 370 or 80 games. And all that libel Baba and they sucked for six years like, but that's not his fault. I mean, he you know if It just seems silly to to attach him to the team failure and say that reflects negatively on Eichel. I don't care about his stat line. I don't care about his hands, his speed his vision. I don't care about the fact when he started rushing up ice, you would move to the edge of your seat. If you're at the arena. I don't care about the T shirts would said, I'm just here to see Jack. I don't care about any of that stuff. Guys. His Sabres career will be linked forever with Failure. It's not his fault, and that shouldn't take away from a tank or him and what he did and how he's got. I'm speaking about him as it's in the past, already how he would be remembered as a Buffalo sabre. He's one of the most talented players. It's the most talented player they had in the drought, but he's one of the most talented players I've seen now. I haven't been here since day one. Okay..

"Moments ago, when Webber was hit by the puck. He was not. He was hit by a high stick lacking in shorthand. It gets one on net and then goes to the net to get to his rebound. Couldn't get it through letters. So Vegas with their first power play of the game time of the penalty, 3 15. And share it behind the net on the dumping tries to wire it around, but it's sealed off on the wall by Pietrangelo Carlson Gets it back to Alex Pietrangelo trains low walks the line top of the left circle. It's march yourself. His pass across the scene dusted off and patch already gets it right on. That price was there at the far post to make the save. Ricochets to the corner. Stone digs it out again Feeds Pietrangelo left circle for Marcia. So had a little trouble with it wasn't in his wheelhouse. So now he backs to the half wall back to Pietrangelo, middle of the ice. Marcia. So right hand shot on the left side pulls it in. Has his shot blocked but gets it back. Pietrangelo, middle of the ice. Let it go Block it away by price. Again recovered by Vegas. This Vegas power play some good puck recoveries. They move it to the left side, and Pat's already shot turned away by price to the corner where the Habs will clear you can see right there. If you're going to beat price. It has to be a one timer Fits passed across the ice would give him time to get across. He will make the safe. That last shot was Patrick reading one time shot on his off wing. He does the job right there. Pad save by price. Carries it back in tries to drop it to Stevenson off his skate. It comes out center ice and now brought back in by Shea Theodore. Across the Stevenson from the left circle. His shot goes high and wide around the glass sent out of the zone. So Theodore has the opportunity right there. It's a little bit better as far as energy for Vegas. Of course, they want production, but the puck movement is there. Nights. Bring it right back in, knocked down in the left corner with Smith and the loose puck move to the front of the net and again cleared by this Montreal power play. It is 10 seconds away. I'm having killed off their 29th consecutive opponents power.

"Mm. You know if aliens showed up And they wanted to know about sports culture in this country. And they wanted you to prove to them that football was King. All you would have to say is We televise and cover their practices. That's all you need to do. You know how the NFL is King? We care about practice. I know Allen Iverson. I need these drops on my Don't have the drop, but you can hear Alan Iverson in your head. We care about football practice to a degree. Some more than others. But we as a society as a sporting society, care what happens at practice. We can't say that. When it comes to other sports. Preseason games or not. Well watched. We don't NIT pick and dive in. The things that happen at practice, uh, in other sports, generally. But that changed today. Because the collective eyes of the sports world Was on The rink today when the Las Vegas Knights of Golden Went out onto the ice. To see who we get to start in tonight's Game five. Would it be Robin Lennar? Who, as we found out yesterday, uh, likes to get to the rink a little bit early for one specific reason. Not many people know. You know, I come to the game four hours early. Every Get up my own bus. Four hours earlier, I sat for two hours and Watch. You guys talked Twitter on me, you know, get me motivated. And then there's Marc Andre Fleury, who's misplay of the park in Game three. Could have been the turning point of this series. Robin Leonard comes in last the other night. Was terrific. Vegas wins and then the question. Who do you go with in Game five, and we had a big conversation yesterday. About Marc Andre Fleury and look Marc Andre Fleury has gone through this before he has been scapegoated multiple times in his career. Doesn't mean that the coaches were wrong in making those, uh they were. In fact, we were proven right, because more often than not actually all the time. Matt Murray Robin Lennar came in and Exceeded the play of Marc Andre Fleury, or at least were perceived to and those teams had success. And that was the point. I'm getting at nobody escape go to more than Marc Andre Fleury. But also him being scapegoated. Kind of has worked. And that was my point yesterday. And we thought maybe one more time Marc Andre Fleury would be stabbed through the heart. With Peter de Boer's sword. But perhaps not. Because Marc Andre Fleury. Got the majority of work today morning skate and, according to multiple sources, is expected. To be back. Where he belongs in between the pipes for the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. In a Very pivotal. Game five. So all is right with the world put away Photoshopped Marc Andre Fleury's agent. Floor is back in goal. Which presents an opportunity for him to get scapegoated again. If Vegas doesn't play well tonight. But I think because of all the goalie stuff, what's gone a little bit under reported Is who else they might have back tonight. There's being Vegas. Chandler Stephenson. Could potentially return to the Vegas lineup tonight. Chandler. Stephenson has not played since Game one. Of this series, and I would submit to you That he has been The guy that the Golden Knights have missed the most. In this series. Haven't missed the goaltending Robin Lennar, although they got it the other night they've been missing. Chandler Stephenson. And if you think back to the lab series, it wasn't So much stone and patch already. That we're giving the avalanche fits. It was that line but who is anchoring that line? I would say to you that Chandler Stephenson might have been the most important and consequential player for Vegas in that Avalanche series. It's just that his contributions did not always show up in the box score because he was being flanked by two Guys who score a lot of goals. Plus, he's on the ice a lot with Alex Pietrangelo, who scores his fair amount of goals. I think really, The absence of Chandler Stephenson is what is What has kept the Canadians in this series. Because I still think Vegas Is better by a bit. By a lot of it. But when you don't have the anchor to that top line your best line The effects of that are felt throughout the lineup. So with the potential return of Chandler Stephenson Yeah. Could be curtains for the Canadians. We might just have a couple more games and Be done with this thing. Potentially I think that that's how important Chandler Stephenson is. To the Vegas Golden ninth. Now. The one thing that throughout this this series Has kept the Canadians in. It is not just the absence of Chandler Stephenson has been the goaltending. Of Cary Price. And in Game three. He was Jon Snow. Drawing his sword in the middle of the battlefield. With The army of the Vegas Golden Knights charging at him. That the battle for Winterfell Have to go back and binge watch game of Thrones. But if you've watched game of Thrones, you know the metaphor that I'm making Carey Price has been very good in this series, and if he can continue to Stop shots like he has. And I know Game the last game. It wasn't Um I think last game was was the greatest evidence of that because Vegas just didn't generate That many opportunities and I think it's much easier to Make a bunch of saves when a bunch is.

President has said that in action His red line and that he is going to insist that this happened soon. What the soon is, I think it will certainly be before there is a recess in in August, an hour and a half before the roundtable Governor Cecil Act, signed a landmark energy bill that, among other things, modernizes Nevada's energy grid with two new transmission lines, opening opportunities for sending clean energy all over the state and around the country. Seems among the lifestyle changes prompted by the pandemic as a trend of Americans moving into larger homes in less expensive communities. Relocation data finds people who move to a different city in 2020, on average, ended up in a ZIP code where home values for nearly $27,000 below the area they left and studying tens of thousands of moves tracked by Zillow and North American van Lines. The average home purchased was 33 square feet larger than the pre Various residents. It suggests that many Americans use the pandemic and the broader acceptance of working from home as an opportunity to flee higher cost metropolitan areas. That's big for upside down, Michael, Think about what he started. People are Like the best salute you could do is if people imitate you, and he is getting imitated right now. By Kyle The problem is I'm outside of the Bob's bar pool upside down might comes through. He goes. What's with that guy so quiet or whatever, like Honestly, what's going on with It was like, Whoa, whoa, whoa. Like like, Oh, he's stepping on your bit. You've got a real issue of what's going on with Kyle. There's some jealousy there went upside down, Mike. So I I for one. Look, do I want the New York Islanders won a Stanley Cup? Of course not. I hate the New York Islanders. I grew up around Islander fans. But for show content do I want Vegas and the Islanders? The plate is Stanley companies to Bozo's Go back and forth with dueling videos. Just seven games. You bet I do. You bet I do now. Let's rage out real quick, folks. All right, I'm ready. I hate that. I liked it that, uh, I think, if not transparent, I hate that. I liked it because you did a little wink. Wink knew you were going extra cheesy, extra Mackin cheesy. To wink wink sucker me in, So I hate that I liked it now. You did stumble with the ran turn into the rescue on I She did there. I've seen Mikko Rantanen score member. I went with the me, Cole. Me. Ha me go round today from the slot. It's very difficult to come up with a mico rotten and pun. So you tried to go with the Rand apartment. His last name goes on too long. I thought that was a big time, Ms. Now you worked in the Vegas in Colorado puns. Great giving you the 21 blackjack reference and at the end This is where when you don't need to over exaggerate when you talk about being buried because they're the avalanche. That to me is the great pun of them all, because it doesn't need any cheese slip slapstick, and if you missed it That's on you as a listener because that's gold material. You didn't like who's the boss? I saw your reaction when I did it. You didn't like Alex Pietrangelo Bauer. I'm disappointed. I've worked really hard on that one. I didn't know if Sam Rubin off was gonna get to because I don't want to burn all his material. I'm not a who's the boss guy. It's a little older. For me. It's understand sure was a little before my time. It's a little bit older for use. That means I should have known it. No fair. All right, Sam. What do you got to say? Shut up. Don't shut up here. We have to say I'm a little upset that Kyle hit us with the Canadian Kant's and bogus. Didn't I think that was a big miss? But nobody But he said, have no I did like to have. I did like I got to give him the have. I did like the habit of what was the line again. Bogus. Sh The Canadians now have an opponent. Yes, that's good. No, that that one I liked. I see. I know you like the berry the Avalanche, but I like I like the cheese. I like the corn balls I like when it's Over the top in your face, clearly making upon its It's a little bit too hidden for me. I'm one of those. I need it. And you know, I really do have to say I did like a lot of the rest of it. But Canadian cancer Kyle made it seem like kind of like Kyle's. I will say this what you got there from Andrew? Bogus, I think, And this is in a good way Pocus. Don't think it's in the wrong way. You got a safe representation of Canadian bacon. Just enough cheese spread, if not too much cheese spread a slip up as an ode. There, he slipped up on a pun, which means not everybody's perfect going through this. And you gave a good story of the game, which is also key, because remember, hockey fans don't want the whole thing becoming where they're laughed at. They want the story of the game because their sport doesn't get enough representation. And you told the the craziness of this game. Well, I would ended up getting 33 and the Vegas took off by the way. Both teams scored the first shot. This game last night. That's how it was 11 so bogus. I applaud you, and I think you've earned stripes. I don't know if it's happening in this postseason, but to do Canadian bacon again. That was a very good job. He won't okay. Are we? Are we willing to give bogus enough credit that he did the ranting and joke twice as an ode to you, Or is that giving him too much credit? Well, no, You're given the creditors. I've done a million of those lines twice if I've slipped through, So I get it. I think bogus. It was a good good tap. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, I I happen to tat tip of the cap. I don't want credit for that. I messed it up. Naturally on my own. I did not. I would not clear enough to mess it up to give an ode to you. I was just I couldn't use me hot and be cold. So I came up with Rantanen. And then I just read it wrong. Even though I try to spell it in the script in a way to remind me to read it correctly, and I didn't read it correctly, So I just That was a straight mistake. I don't I don't don't deserve anything for that. See, I would have given you more points here after the fact If you'd have said you did it on purpose. No, I can't take credit for that. Mind every single day 'cause Never gonna happen to me that we were in last place in inches away from losing on also went to home stanley go. And i'm not mad on theme is analogous was He seemed to pick on me a lot. You mentioned the cold side. There isn't own a follow up a map. Just how much of a luxury been for you guys knowing. You're going to play in front of either. Marc andre fleury robin leonard. Basically every night the season the coming woking samuel lenny last night. I mean every night. You're getting good goaltending stole it. Frees us up as advancement especially because it allows us to do things known that we kind of have have that safety valve back there. you know both guys you know night in night out they're gonna give it. They want to be in the net and they got good chemistry. We go to kim regime with him. It's obviously rare attitude guys like that fact there but You know they're going to give it a chance to win every night. Which is what you want from. The goaltending playoffs are around the corner. Here a little bit and you definitely strike me as the type of guy who thrives on the playoffs and the atmosphere kind of everything that comes with it fair to say you're looking forward to to postseason kind of elevating your game and all death comes comes with the playoff time. Yeah to me. That's the the no fans this year is a little bit different but for me. It's the most fun time of the year. When you think about it. You know you put yourself in a position all year to play your best hockey wide to get into the playoffs right. And when you wanna be playing your best hockey barnes the play offs and Whatever happened the regular season essentially other than the stands gets washed out when he got house. Because it's all new season and it's anything this year you by Was at seven fourteen. Twenty games Potentially plants almost the season. He played this year. So it's it's a lot that You know when you really think about it. it's Is the best time of the year because everything is sold under the microscope and the pressure. And you gotta enjoy that because like for everybody. It gives you a breath of fresh air and gives you a fresh start playoffs there. What are the keys for you guys as you enter the stretch run here you've got about a fourth of the regular season laughter two points of the division lead where you guys focusing on. The first thing i said was getting Contribution stroke the lineup and use it. Everybody in every situation which we've been able to do a special edition of That's really helps. And once we get on when it's consistently threat where we wanted to be ethnic You're gonna see us Put more pressure on. We're scoring goals. Time five which we weren't there for a little bit now you can just give the power play goal line. not always will scoring goals. But it's momentum. I think if we can find a way to continue to create momentum consistently on special teams can be important force in the playoffs. He or you may only get one job opportunities a game now. Being a guy who came in this year you obviously hadn't seen Eggs whitecloud you know in training camps and things to past couple of years. Wouldn't you sort of seen from them and their development throughout the season. Maybe what's impressed you about their game so far while they complain any situation. I mean And the plan together to right. which is you know. you don't see too young. i suppose together. But they're both responsible Which is what you want. And kinda complements the other guys in the back end and they move well physical and You know they they wanna learn right. There they talked to me a lot. You try and teach him as much as they can try and help them We got guys like that. That have devolved. Dinner continually eager to learn. I think you're gonna see them. Keep progressing Know both ends in helps You know having six guys like imply because you can kinda roll to roll six guys in again alleviates heavy minutes from from everybody we gotta move it around with. General sixty is kind of exchange partners. A little bit too and you've played with martinez you play with mcnabb. You played with the at our that against the top four that you guys are kind of interchangeable work with different guys that there's that kind of versatility there is important because you know we we change on a powerplay penalty. Kill end of games for down by goal vehicle on the planet of anybody's important You'll never know what can happen to someone. Go down someone can escape anything and you can kind of mix and match. Those pairs is important Moved down here down. Stretch so i wanted to ask you a little bit about something personally. It's a little weird transition but you've done a lot. community worker. Did a lot of jeanene work in saint louis with no pediatric cancer. As you go forward in vegas obviously signing long term here. That's something you want to continue. Look look forward to getting involved in the community and in causes netter. Are you yeah. It's it's really important to me. I mean You know the pediatric cancer. You don't me. Niece was sick alley. That's.

samuel lenny six guys Twenty games two points Marc andre fleury sixteen last night kim this year first thing ryan reaves both guys one job Saint louis battles both top four Time five last couple of weeks seven fourteen saint louis

"That was rushing again. Because it's not gonna don you don't just hit with a punt Broken bones is not much. You can do a lot of times. it's just Just as you know what it is. They stymie elam fortunately in its continuing on the il. It's not something that's going to heal right away and You know i'm understand. You know there's still some things data that i have to work through but I tried the attention. When it wasn't playing. You know On the games and watch the games and when the team was in town gory games in pay attention. Because there's a lot of stuff learn from washington game when you're not playing that you can kind of Translate back to the ice when you get on there is the season's been different. Obviously everyone should so condensed and it's only divisions a what's that in life for you. I mean just the pace of the schedule. That i mean in the last two weeks. You guys have had four games in seven days basically every week. It's solanki It's you know every other day is is a lot of hockey. Don't you don't have time to practice really. I mean you got to pick and choose on the ice and what you're gonna do when you're on the ice you don't want to overextend yourself. 'cause i get joke you buy Also is certainly a little bit different division. part is certainly It's interesting because it's difficult to play the same game constantly being in the same city for couples. The nice you can settle into your hotel on yet living at your suitcase playing one night and the next City so that part. It's been nice. So i'm kind of curious to see where league they said terms it scheduling maybe sane in cities longer more than one game here before. How much of you kind of have the alternate you know like a game day routine things like that. I know for us. They just allow us into the building later. I don't know what it's like for you guys but is that a change at all forty. Just you know the day to day sort of procedures and routines on no. It's been pretty good for us. It really job as it allowed us to do our job. In every night they put in terms of the protocols and everything and just allows us to do or do. I mean there's some small things you know. They move some stuff around in the rink. Jim seen all sides that have been said but all that stuff is pretty much the same to the ring at the same time on skied. All that stuff's pretty much the same. Maybe a little bit adjustment beginning but soon the same all year. So i think guys maybe altered the routines may be just a tad once. You've done any kinda go within. It has really changed much. Which is nice. I want to ask you about will never gets a viral moments of the season for lack of a better word. You were mike. That for the lake. Tahoe game or nathan mackinnon is coming down. You get caught on mike. Say oh boy. Would you think would be just about the anyone's reaction with a full head of steam coming adam but What was your response. That the seeing that here that People been telling you about that not much. i'm sure i said more entertaining things in that during a game. Just put it out there. Maybe some words probably shouldn't be on the kids here but i mean I knew i was trouble. I was at london. The ice in the corner the is going full speed. I know it wasn't going to be in situations of obvious anyone score. That wasn't the idea. But now you own you think vacuuming so that happens all the time i think. Download the app and you're ready to go for senate at seven thing you out loud on the ice. Do you know when you're doing stuff. I know i always talk to myself and things like that. I mean i think it makes for fun entertainment. You know. I certainly i got a kick out of it. I mean it does Always all those are usually constantly talking on the ice and south. I mean i'm sure there's a lot of other things that they used alligators entertaining. But you know you wanna go the game. You want to sell the game you know. Sometimes some of us up to kind of take that yet because creates entertainment so it is what it is. I mean My buddy's got a real kick out of that will take you back to a little bit before you signed with the gold maintenance. You know twenty nineteen you guys live to. The stanley cup in boston is what was that entire. Run like were you. Obviously you were the team captain but was like to kind of go through that entire experience. You guys were at last place. That won't wayne. Like january new rallied all the way to you. End up lifting the cup. Yeah and it's interesting because we had a lot of meetings within our team that year and just really just as players in. We're in a lot of games or losing a lot of games that we should not saw know whether it was in the last game or we're out by a couple in their against terrible balance. Oh a one point. I remember like at the standings and we could've been four or five spots higher and now we have a four client end on some of the seems and i still remember you know saying decided in the locker room. I said you know we street string a couple of gather. I think we've got a really good chance of making the playoffs. And then the next one twelve in a row so you never know you just gotta get hot great time you know. We just felt like we were. We were getting a camera show. We just couldn't quite you. Don't get the balances quite finish off games that we should have finished often. Once in twelve. Enroll i mean the rest is history. The lancet was ours after that. What was it like for you personally. Though as a captain i mean. Obviously that's everything every kid no dreams about doing You know when when you're trying to the nhl to act. I want what's your hands on the cup. What was that like for you while i mean as we play somewhere so long ride. You don't get that opportunity and then finally get there. It's i don't care. This is a special moment For many years. I was there amidst the conference finals. The one time playoffs every year. He falling short. You know you got frustrated after Silently have that opportunity you parlance a lot of energy into and man. What a I just remember like going into game. Seven insane i. We had a really good feeling into salt lake You know we. We're going to win. I don't know what it was. But i remember going into that saying thank goodness this is the last game thank goodness no matter what winner of this is the end because i think we like mash the total. How many games you could play. you're ever. It was like a hundred however many games and it was finally nice that it came into an end. End the way we wanted it to. I gotta ask you vote the the rally song glory. Are you ever going to get tired of hearing that song. It's every time it comes on somewhere. It's all i think about. It's like it's amazing whether i'm in a restaurant or someone plays in the room by accident or whatever i it's the first thing that comes up which is kind of cool thing Just kind of happened on us as a group will remember that for the rest of my life which is pretty special takeaways from from that in terms of you know what it sort of takes maybe to be able to win it. What were the things that at a team has to to have the ingredients to win a stanley cup or chemistry wanting And you got to keep that even keel. you know. Throw the whole season and the blouses lot of downs in even in the playoffs. I mean we were inches centimeters away from losing dallas. When jamie benn had the rap brown. I mean we also had rant. We thought it was over here. We go on and win. So the emotions.
