"Actually, I came over the big five. Michael. So is that allowed under the rules here, So there's so much going on? I know it's a busy day. Natalie. Can you do more than three? I mean, I don't know. What are the rules here? You know, you're the boss. I would say that the Big three's big three have supplements, but you gotta stick to three. Okay, I'll stick to three and then have a couple of addendums. Exactly. Oh, our big boy's stories. The president's briefing was interrupted by a Secret service shooting outside the White House. Yesterday. 51 year old man hospitalized after being shot also the Big Three big school news locally, the mayor's saying 75% Of New York City school. Kids will return to public schools in the fall, and they're also saying 85% of teachers. So that's pretty interesting in the vast majority want to go back and rounding out the Big three? Well as Joe just mentioned During the newscast. The Big 10 is expected to announce today no football season this year. These are big schools Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin. The president's weeds play college football, So he wants as he wants people back to school. He wants college football to be played as well now. Those are the big three. I have a couple of addendums. One is that Putin has announced this morning. He's got a Corona vaccine. It's been approved, I guess in Russia, and it's ah, he says. One of his daughters has been inoculated. So the race is on for a vaccine. And here's another addendum. The governor of New York is threatening utilities because thousands are still without power. That's unbelievable. I mean, the storm was a week ago. Today we have Alice Stockton Rosina out about talking to people without power. We'll hear from her at 905 But, uh, the governor says he can, you know, get rid of the charters of these utilities and to emphasize that, he said, miss serious as a heart attack. So there you go. So let me get more serious than that. Would you take a vaccine that was made in Russia? I probably would not. But that would be a No. I'm also wondering if bad daughter is the kitty doesn't like I mean, I mean, that is the kind of thing Putin would do to the China doesn't care for My daughter is the beauty. Big Natasha, get over here to you. Geez. Anyhow, let's check in with our buddy Alex Kosti Janos, ABC news political analyst. So much to discuss So little time. Good morning, Alex and the vice presidential pick will be for Biden. And the vice presidential pick is going to be for bide. Well, nobody's more excited to find out who Biden's vice presidential picks going to be. Then, of course, Joe Biden clue. No flu, but it's coming soon. You know any black woman will do they all kind of think the same. That's Ah, no diversity there. That's what he said this week, but I think he has to go with Susan Rice. I think that's his best bet her baggage is already built in. Uh, there's no real downside for her. That baggage really only impacts the voters who are already going to vote against Joe Biden. So I think that's his best bet. Camilla Hair's a little wobbly, You know, half of Democrats think job. I wouldn't finish out his first term if elected, so Even Democrats understand We're not voting just for Joe Biden here. Americans voting for electors President whomever he picks this week, and this is gonna be a big decision. Is it going to be a Sarah Palin like choice that that looks good at first, and the press gets all excited and then sinks the campaign. Stay tuned. Hey, Alex. What you make of the president's signing the executive order the other day to get some money into the hands of the unemployed because the Democrats and the Republicans in Congress can't agree on anything. I mean, I know it's going to be challenged. And, of course, everybody is jumping up and down, tearing their hair out, says he doesn't have the power to do that. Although I do notice that when Barack Obama signed executive orders the mainstream media the Democrats are always have to do that, because the Republicans are obstructionist, so it seems to be a little hypocrisy there. A little bit, You know, the same party, the Democrats who say that sanctuary cities are okay we did. They don't have to obey federal law or that we don't have to enforce immigration law. We can have deferred action, Doc. Oh, are the Constitution's a living document? We means whatever we said. That's the party that's complaining about Donald Trump. Taking what I think is very clearly unconstitutional action here deciding not to collect payroll taxes, deferring them. But the Political argument that the Democrats were making she wait a minute. Donald Trump is not giving you free money the right way. Yeah. Yeah, that's not going to actually hurt Donald Trump here, and it's one of the few victories he has. Ah, when it comes to the economy and negotiating with Democrats lately, by the way, at the same time, he is Suspending payroll taxes. He has started attacking Joe Biden for raising taxes. They've got a clip of Biden running in five key swing states, saying I'm not going to cut taxes. I'm going to raise your taxes. I just want to clarify you said that it was unconstitutional. Whatyou're saying that total is this? Okay? Okay, just as it was when Obama did it just a zit is when anybody Ah, you know, assumes power they don't have. Congress has the power of the purse. What do you make of the president, saying that he'll make his acceptance speech for the nomination. Either a Gettysburg or the White House. You know, the critics are saying, Well, those are public property is not for political purposes. Your thoughts on that. Key politics has broken out again in a federal building in Washington. That would be the first time I think that's probably a better choice to do it in the White House than to do it at the The high point of the South's, uh, efforts in the civil war where the tide turned against the south..

"Is the state of California have surprised a California governor Gavin Newsom, didn't try to shut down the middle. Ical Hotel California itself, even though it only exists in the imagination of the Eagles because he shut down just about everything else. Yesterday, restaurants, winery's tasting rooms, movie theaters, family, entertainment centres, zoos and museums, card rooms and the shuttering of all bars. Now, in addition to the statewide order, he also closed indoor operations for fitness centers, worship services. Personal care services malls, offices, hair salons and barber shops for 30 counties in California on their monitoring list, as they call it, that represents about 80% of the state's population, so 80% of the state's population. Has all the stuff he just mentioned, closed down and also has fitness centers and churches, at least for in person services and personal care services and malls and Places. You get your hair cut and colored And all that stuff just all closed down so well. Arizona follow suit, and not just because California you know supposed to be a trend setting kind of state, or at least they think they are. But because really our search has been worse than California's when you consider our population versus theirs. And remember last week that we were being told the infection rate in Arizona was the worst in the world when you compare us states and countries per capita, Yes. Wow, still is from what I know. Yeah, that question. I think the short answer is no, I really don't. But I think the possibility the door is open for Ah, Governor Ducey. Maybe go up a bit farther, considering how many people were disappointed last week that all he did was basically order restaurants to get to 50% or less capacity for their dining rooms. And had, you know didn't really go much farther and that, by the way, they were always already recommended that they reduce their you know, indoor dining by a good percentage. So I don't think there's the political will there and I don't think you know, since he's going to side, I think more with businesses and I think side more with lively hoods than lives. You know, and I hate to put it that way. But I do think that he is a business owner and realizes the lives that could be lost. By losing your livelihood, and he decides that way because he's a Republican. I don't think you know he's going to make it. He's gonna make people mad, whether what he does or what he doesn't do. So why not? Why I continue to make Your base mad. You know when both sides are going to be mad at you, no matter what it's don't don't continue to inflame your own party and their supporters. I just don't know how this all plays. I remember a little earlier we're talking with with our D. C insider, Alex Kosti honest about whether or not Governor. The governor's association with Martha McSally is hurting her rather than just her association with President Trump because he has the lowest approval rating in regards to Corona virus of any governor in the states in the entire United States, So I don't think I don't think he's going to shut down more, but maybe incrementally, he might do a couple of things. 17. You know what? Here's what I'm going to predict. The thing he's going to shut down further is school's farther into the school year. That's what I'm gonna predict. We'll see if I'm right or not. 7 18 now. Katie are my wife will tell you I'm not right most of the time. So, uh, Here's detour..

"From today's top stories on Arizona's news station. KTAR news. KTAR in-depth to impeach all not to impeach. That is the question really up to the house if they want to do that. They can I think the American people would like to move on from this. I think they've learned quite enough about it. That's the senate's top Republican Mitch McConnell is some House Democrats continue to call for impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump. Joining us now, our DC insider, ABC news political analyst, Alex cost Janos. I know Nancy Pelosi is trying to talk them out of it. And Trump's attorney really Giuliani said yesterday, the president will benefit politically if they try to impeach what do you think's going to happen? Alex. Well, I think Nancy Pelosi has asserted control over her party and the after two years of the intoxicating Muller investigation tequila party. Democrats are so bring up and realizing the American people don't want to go on like this for another two years. So Pelosi has figured it out. She's going to give the radical pro impeachment. Young turk. Democrats she's gonna give them impeachment without impeachment. She's going to give him investigations hearings. But you know, guys, why don't we let voters impeach Donald Trump in twenty twenty smart move. Yeah. She's letting them do a couple of shots, but not swallow the worm at the the Michael Cohen worm stays in the bottle. Okay. Very good. Wow. There are now nineteen Democrats running for president in two thousand twenty. I I kind of want you to list the elected Democrats in the United States who are not running for president in the interest of time. But we don't even have time to do any of that. It sounds like Joe Biden is going to postpone his big announcement. It was supposed to happen tomorrow. Why? That's a good question. And it appears her a couple of reasons one is that before Biden even gets to these starting line. He's sinking in the polls. Bernie Sanders is established a lead over him in Iowa and New Hampshire and Biden is dropping in the people the Democrats who are moving in the bowls or not Biden, it's Buddha. Judges it's the new generation of Democrats. So Biden a lot of questions he can't answer. Why isn't team Obama the president user for years? Why aren't they helping you and the Democrats are wondering an old white guy establishment guy? Who is that's not what our party looks like today, so Biden has run before. And he just may be the sequel to the movie nobody went to see last time. Right. We're talking with our DC insider ABC news political analyst, Alex Kostya, you brought it up. So I'm gonna go with it in a lot of these. States. The leading democratic candidates are white men is this is this not what the party of diversity wants. Well, that's an interesting one to right now about three out of five democratic primary voters are women. And we haven't seen a woman catch fire Kamla heiress, Elizabeth Warren. They've actually both dropped in the polls. And it seems that Democrats may say they want a woman candidate. But what they really want is a candidate who can beat Donald Trump. They want that more. And right now, those candidates seem to be Bernie Sanders, Pete Buddha, judge and not Elizabeth Warren com layers or even old Joe Biden. All right. So thank you very much. "From today's top stories on Arizona's news station. KTAR news. KTAR indepth I share the president's goal of securing the border. I will continue to support all efforts to address the humanitarian and security crisis on the border. That's outgoing homeland security chief Kirstin Nielsen yesterday after turning into resignation secret service director also on his way out with a couple more higher ups. They're also expected to leave soon joining us now our insider ABC news political analyst, Alex Kosti does Alex. There have been a lot of staff shakeups under President Trump in his twenty seven months on the job. Have there been more changes under him than most presidents? Yes, there have this has been a turbulent administration. The revolving doors, spins a little faster in the Trump administration right now, they're about ten positions cabinet level or right under it that are acting of secretaries, for example, homeland security department of interior department of defense, the SP a even the White House chief of staff in UN are helped by acting appointees left permanent. And that doesn't quite give them the authority and the ability to get the job done. So it's it's a remarkable amount of turnover. He said acting appointees as opposed to permanent. There's nothing permanent really any. In this in this administration. Right, right. And there's more acting here than on the apprentice. Right. I have a friend who's a solid supporter of President Trump. But says he would never want to work for them. Does anybody wanna work for Donald Trump at this point? That's part of the problem too. It's hard to get good people when you know, your president is a disruptive force. I mean, Donald Trump was sent to Washington to disrupt things chase things any has a lot of ways, you know, wages are up taxes down. Employment is up NATO is stronger supreme court has been changed. But one thing that hasn't change is immigration, the border security situation, the president is incredibly frustrated, and so what's he done? He's cleaned house in his administration bringing in a whole new team. And so yes, it'd be very hard to, you know, leave a normal life and go work for this president you'd incur huge legal. Bills from congressional investigations. And you don't know how long you'd last on the job. Yeah. No kidding. We we were reporting earlier this morning that he got into it. A couple of weeks ago with Mike Pompeo about border policy does his border policy need to change. And really does. He even know exactly what his border policy is. Well, it's tough because right now. The president is frustrated because we have a catch twenty two immigration system, which means that like the movie like the book, it's illegal to enforce the law. Congress says, well, wait a minute. You can't separate children from families if from their parents if they parents come here illegally, but wait a minute. You can't keep kids with their parents because that's also illegal in humane. So it's illegal to enforce the law and the way congress dealt with this say, well, we'll pretend there isn't any legal immigration or crisis at the border. Now, Trump is enforcing the law and. There's no good way to do it. Yeah. Now, I know there's some talk about going back, and that's one of the things he was arguing with Mike Pompeo about apparently was right going back to the separating children. But you know, the other interesting thing is how much the demographics have changed to though. All right, Alex. Thanks. Thanks so much. Appreciate it a ton of money. Fortunately, DC insider ABC news political.

"From the very first day of this partial government, shutdown President Trump has been engaging in good faith negotiations and discussions now. It's time for leadership for speaker Pelosi to come back to the table. That's vice President Mike Pence talking about what the president will be talking about and his address to the nation tonight. Let's talk as Jimmy mentioned with our DC ABC news political analyst, Alex Kosta Janos, Alex is the first time he's done this. You know, an Oval Office address to the nation, which we've seen so many presidents do in the past. What do you what do you expect to hear from him tonight? And will it change anything? I think it is first office address. This president is going to do something he hasn't done which is he's going to try to use the power of and the stature of the Oval Office and the bully pulpit to reach across the fifty yard line reach beyond his base and and make not only a national security case for border wall. He's gonna make. Humanitarian case he's going to say real people are getting hurt here on this side when illegal aliens kill a policeman as they did the day after Christmas in California. But also, the the mothers who are coming here to attracted by our open borders. A third of the women who are attracted to this perilous journey raped Fenton hill is coming over our border and increased seventy three percent. We have to stop it. We're going to see Donald Trump be very Reagan like tonight, and that's different. Yeah. If he sticks to the script, which you know, you're kind of expected to do when you're speaking from the Oval Office. So right, Alex. You know, he's he's done that when he's giving his state of the union addresses, and and big speeches. So he can do it. And I think it's a win for him tonight because he's going to be talking about a crisis. And the Democrats are going to be saying walls won't help. That's a tough argument because on your home. Do you have walls and a security system or just a security system walls help keep us our home safe, and he's going to make that case about our American Home tonight. There's any chance that Donald Trump will try to negotiate a little bit. And actually that could make the Democrats look, really bad. If he says, all right, listen, I just I want four billion for the wall. Now, what do you say Democrats? And if they don't if they come back with no, we don't want to give you anything it really could make them look bad, but any chance Donald Trump's gonna do something like that. He's he's probably not going to lower its number in the speech tonight. But he's he can do that afterwards. But tonight, he is going to reach out and say, look, let's talk listening to go. She ate let's work something out. So we can end this shutdown, but he's also going to be tough. He's remember that national lampoon cover by this magazine or will shoot this dog. Yeah. I think he's going to say to congress if you don't act and build this wall, I have the authority as president to take twenty three billion dollars from the defense budget and start building a wall. Do you think finally Alex Kosta Janos DC insider, ABC news political analysts? Do you think this will move the needle, do you think we're going to get closer to getting the government reopened fully after Donald Trump speaks tonight? Or you think this just continues on? I think both I think this will move the needle, I think Trump will be effective elevating this crisis, and we will expand support. But I don't think the Democrats can meet him halfway there's a new democratic freshman class in the house that is. Very radical. And they don't wanna see Nancy Pelosi give Trump one brick of this wall. So I don't think the shutdown end. But I think the president built support for acting independently and starting to build this wall on his own. All right. Thanks a lot Alex Kosti Janos there. It is six forty eight and we will cover the president will carry his address live.
