"He is dead, isn't in the conversation for best shortstop. He is the best. Shortstop, you don't know if you feel the same way, like forgave, oh. It's a flashier shortstop, but first of all, he's a much worse defensive shortstop much worse, right? And and I used to have this debate in the Press Box at Fenway with somebody who worked for mlb.com, actually, the statcast baseball sauvage. And I said, look, I think Xander Bogaerts is a great hitter. I think he's a good defensive player. I and that was, you know, 2014-2015 wage. I think he's become a great defensive shortstop, and he's really matured. And that's what that's the part of the game of that. I think he worked on the most refined his skills and what not correct me if I'm wrong but that's where I think he's grown really. As a, there's no question, there's no question. And, you know, it's not whatever the analytics show, I will tell you the, the eye test will will suggest that he not only makes the plays, but then every once awhile, he makes the above-average play to me in, in, in Cora had mentioned this, he's the strongest shortstop in baseball, and I think Bush was saying, was a, he's a bigger shortstop, obviously, when we think bigger shortstops, I think Ripken right, Ripton, okay. He was barely moving around in second half of his career. Shouldn't really have been playing dead. Hey, Ron. Obviously the he was too big to save. You know, he needed to move the third, your guide. Barry Larkin. He's a big guy, right? That really, you know, he's six foot long, he play he was a big guy. He's lost weight, he's on the Reds. TV crew here in Cincinnati and he does he actually does a great job. I wanted to get to Jesse Winker and Nick Castellanos office before we conclude but no Barry was He was average sized. Dave Concepcion was bigger than than very large. Yeah, but he was skinnier. Yeah, so, you know, you look at Bogart's, he's 6 to, I think he's listening to 6 to 2:18 a.m. but he's solid, right? And so, I just look at when you were talking to this conversation about the best shortstop, I don't think it's a tell me, who's better, like, you have to tell me who's been off all around? I mean, this would be the only guy that would but he's terrible defensively, right? I I'm not arguing Rob, I'm just playing this game. This is where we are. You sure it's all about production. It's very little, I mean there are metrics on defense. I get that certainly are runs prevented and whatnot, but so much of the game is so I'm pitching numbers, spin rates, and in offense, o p s and slash lines, and that's it. And that's how decisions are made on rosters. Yeah well and then, you know, you know why I mean, because you can lean on a team like Tampa look at Campos baffling to me and and you look at well, why is tax so good and not only could this you're the good every year? Yes, because you have Manuel Margot, you know, six six t o p s or whatever it clean up and and you know you go down the line and you lose Charlie Morton and you lose flakes now and you're still in it and really a big part of it is because of, you know, they're leaving a lot of stuff that you talk about but also this go back to defensive part of it. Like they're really good defensive team, very very so when you don't have the payroll right, role pays primarily for offense and defensive depth. Yes. And and so does that tell you what is almost more important now? And this is and unfortunately, you know what happens is that you have teams saying to their ownership..

"Alex Cora in Houston as wage. Kick off a four-game series, a big tough stretch for the Red Sox coming up Rob. They haven't forgotten about Alex Cora in, Houston know, I mean, how can I mean, you think back in that track? I don't know what your initial reaction, obviously, it was a big mess, a big cluster, and everything else. But as we sort of get away from it, like one of the things that I really like is increasingly bothersome to me, is the Players being so willing to just basic, like Cora was a core was a sweet spot of this, right? Let's make no mistake about it, right? He was the guy who was out of the organization, who wasn't a player That they could they could say boom. That's our guy and he deserved a lot of it. There's no question about it, but is mind-boggling looking back at it. How long you had all these players? Just get off accountability? Yeah, no accountability. I would agree with that. I think that's fair but I think a lot of these players are so conditioned. You know that I'm talking to all of them from the minor leagues on up, even before the minor leagues in amateur ball, high school. If they're playing at a high level Cape Cod, whatever look for an advantage and Advantage equals cheating. I mean, let's it's another term for it. So you from ISM for cheating is advantage and baseball and that's what they've grown up with. It's a culture of baseball and what mujhe pagal my mind is, you're asking these players to immediately change that culture overnight, and these players have become so accustomed and tome. But your job is to look for any advantage anywhere, you can get it and all of a sudden, don't do that anymore. Well, that's like stopping, you know, two hundred tonne freight train coming down the tracks, right? You're not home overnight. Oh no, you know, a little things like we had earlier this year, hit or looking into it. I forget what who it was, but him looking into the catcher's signal, you know, like just take a peek. Listen, I did that in Little League, you know, or whatever. I mean, this is what you do obviously stealing signs from second base. This is what you do. I think you're right. I think people get caught up in Iraq. Well, you know, everything is all of it is, is awful. How can you do that? And, but it's not this, it's not the the same level of banging on a trash can, right? Or or shovel of what Houston. I mean, they would have kept going with it. Let's be honest. And because this wasn't just about Cora. This wasn't just about hinge. This was about Lou. Now, this is about this keep going and we're good job. Smarter than everybody else, which by the way, they aren't alone. I mean make no mistake about it, but if you put it because the only way that players.

"What they hope supposed pandemic world ESPN. Howard Bryant joins us, Howard Thanks so much for being with us. Hey, Scott. Good morning. Good morning, my friend. A J. Hinch, Uh, on Alex Cora, of course, were both on the Stros. Both were on probation for a season after the cheating scandal has major league baseball, giving them a second chance or ignoring the treating scandal that should have had more impact on the game and on them. Yeah, no question about this. This has been a really interesting sort of development. But however, it should be noted that it hasn't been new. I think when the scandal first hit, there was a lot of disappointment and a lot of anger in baseball that the commissioner Rob Manfred. Did not punish the players. And you saw that in spring training long ago before the pandemic. Remember that life back then Scott and we were talking all about the retribution that the other teams during spring training. We're hitting the players at Dusty Baker's team They were getting Plunked every game. Somebody was getting hit as a message to say, Hey, this was unfair and we don't like what you guys did. Even when this restart began. There have been questions about whether or not Alex Cora will not Alex Cora and a J. Hinch. If their suspensions, we're going to be extended because there were no games and so then, when the game began it, so turns out that both of them We're already looking for landing spots at people inside the game had begun to rehabilitate them. And so even Midway through the season through the 60 games, there had been talk that A. J was certainly going to be back in the game that Alex Core was going to go back to Boston. There was talk that he was that a J was going to go to the White Sox because they think they had contacted him. He ended up going to Detroit. And so as it's all said and done, you look at this and you realize that there really wasn't much of a penalty for anybody. The suspension wasn't a year it was 60 games, and so in retrospect, you look at this and you say, did baseball even really care about this? Did anybody really take this seriously Because it is back to normal right now. A J is back in the game. Alex is back in the game. And the players never got punished. And the the great trash cans scandal over 2019 2020 seems to have gone away N BA is ah, looking towards the future and talking about a 72 game season for next year that would begin in December. Oh, and no bubble they would play at home Arenas is this Ah, Is this smart and foresighted or premature? Well, it's all kind of amazing because number one What's today? Today is the seventh, right? And so they want to have an MBA draft on the 18th. They want to start the season on December 22nd. So, so I guess there's not gonna be any preseason games, so everything is about to Two to start for riel within the next 35 days. And so I mean, LeBron's shoes are barely cool at this point, so this is sort of interesting. I think what I find what it tells means. Scott is that The financials are real and that when you look at the dollars that have lost, I know we talk about millions being million's like they don't really matter. But I think the N BA and the N Ba Players Association of all the sports have the best relationship between labor and management and for them to say, okay, they're not even really talking about health and safety right now. They're like we need to restart. I think that that tells you is Is that the numbers Ariel the financial fears Ariel and the numbers that they're talking about If we start at 72 games right now, before Christmas, we can recoup maybe half a million to a billion dollars. I think what it really tells you is is that this may not be agreed play, but a desperation play when they're looking at the balance sheet. ESPN is Howard Bryant..

"I have some other people I want to talk to so that's why I continue being somewhat of an alias naysayer on whether we're going to have Alex Cora to with the Red Sox. Yeah, and I think I would agree Sean it but I think if bloom had a here's my guy clear-cut front-runner favorite that he really really wanted and let's say it was the Tampa bench coach and he was able to arrest him free from Raise then you can then I could see it. Not that not not that I disagree with the notion that he doesn't want a fresh start. But if it's not a slam-dunk gotta have this guy cuz he's my guy guy off the pressure from both ownership and players could be enough for it seems that core. It could be the guy who slides in I know Vasquez recently was what what we don't know is does hien Bloomberg have that guy in my maybe it is Louise orietta. Yeah, because he has interviewed him twice now for the same opening that would seem to signal that he really likes him. Even if last January home kind of a dry run. Well, it's too close to Spring training to bring somebody new in from outside the organization, but let me just get a measure of this guy might be heard off and now that he's got a second chance to fill this position and he doesn't have the crunch of spring training being two weeks away. Maybe orietta is the guy that he's like all along. I'm not saying That's the case but possibly Advocate and saying maybe one of these handful of guys has come in and blown highbloom away and he has a favorite that he's near ready to recommend. He lost he was exiled from the game for all the twenty twenty and his reputation is at least somewhat tarnished by association with that season does he come back I? Think it's on the table. I think the players would absolutely welcome outscore back with open arms. I don't say that in that they have rejected Ron Reynecke or never paid attention or listen to him. But core obviously had a bond with most of the players on that roster and they would welcome him back for twenty twenty one going forward. I think also opera management and ownership having strong affection for Alex Cora I think they were sort of guilted into making. The decision they did back in January to let him go I. think that there was probably some pressure from Major League baseball to do so they did so reluctantly but knowing they had to do it. That's at I think they would welcome him back with open arms at the x factor. Here is hind bloom. He's the guy who is the chief baseball officer was hired by the owner several months before core laugh to run it his way. Yeah. So you know while the owners are saying in West Spring you know we'd be okay with are coming back in the players shore with like it it was probably would probably play well with the fan base ultimately bloom has to decide is this guy it's gotta be his idea I who am I? Okay. Off on his return, my sense is that would have no great objection to Cora. How could you? This is a guy in two years certainly in his first year who directed attained Eight wins and a dominant World Series Championship is credentials are in water. It's a matter of does this. Does does Blue Mont Corner, be his guy for the next five six seasons or is there someone out there that he would prefer right mold as his manager and and perhaps have a little bit more sway with while core can come in with his own credentials and certainly has to acquiesce to bloom on personnel decisions but would there be any clash there I I don't think it would be great. I'm not willing to say it's a slam dunk that outscore comes back but it certainly on the table and. And when I was talking about reputation, I'm more meaning cora got hit hard but I feel like the perception around his involvement changed somewhere in the early days it was perceived as ringleader, and then he brought the whole operation to Boston and when the Red Sox for cleared and more stuff came out about how deep this ran in the Houston organization I feel like Cora the initial reaction was he's got to go I feel like that's subsided. So I I do agree that bringing him back is is something that most people fans organizationally the players would would probably be on board with where you know that that's. Something that people can live with now where the initial days initial stages of it didn't look like that would be the case right and if the if the main staining encores reputation is what he did in. Houston elsewhere or years ago. That's their problem who cares he was largely absolve here So that's an easy hurdle to overcome. The thing is interesting too. It's not by any means comparable, but certainly, you had in the first years of Ben. In the managerial situation. You had owner ownership intervention with Bobby Valentine. Couldn't network that well. There's Personally, Sean we were together at NBC sports positive the time that's as much fun as I've had covering the Red Sox WanNa circus that was, but you can't possibly have anything go worse than that. So I mean while no one's GonNa Compare Corre to Bobby Valentine somewhere in the back of ownership's mind the half to be thinking like I really can't force my guy here. Can I yeah I think that Ultimately they they make their thoughts known to hind blown. But if they're doing this the right way the rest of that presentation ends with however, we hired you to run baseball operations you know our feelings, but ultimately, this is your choice that's the way to handle it up. Okay. Well, Sean mcadam thank you very much. This has been the red SOx beat podcast on the Seattle NS media. Network. Sean. Thanks again. That's.

"Sixty six sixty six said Alex Cora it is sit down earlier with Marly Rivera over the S. P. and then in many ways they set all the makings of a damage control type of peace because Alex Cora was in many ways vilified and was type cast by everybody in Houston that he was the ringleader and the architect and the master mind of everything that went on with the sign still yeah outscore did not deny any of his involvement quote there's been a narrative out there of what happened ever since been November until the commission announced the results of the red Sox investigation I've read many things that are true and many others that are not I have this whole process if there is one thing that I can completely reject and disagree with is people within the Astros organization singling me out particularly the former GM Jeff Luhnow as if I were the sole mastermind the commissioner's report sort of explained in its own way what happened but the Astros players have spoken up and have refuted any allegations that I was solely responsible if there is one thing I am absolutely sure of it is that it was not a two man show we all did it I let me be very clear that I am not denying my responsibility because we were all responsible he's right about a lot of but I think that our score was a very smart baseball mind and use that sort of baseball intellect and a technology vantage of the Astros and red Sox no question about it do I think that coral was one of the guys in the dugout that was very much on the cutting edge of a lot of this stuff I sure do but if you know anything about the Astros if you think like Jeff Luhnow was completely and all checked out I had no idea this stuff was going on your full this was a wide spread cheating system every which way with a GM the manager the bench coach the players all responsible I do think it is a little unfair to outscore and Carlos Beltran what put a position where you know they were feeling the heat a heck of a lot worse than AJ hedge that should be the case why because agents that have the chutzpah to say something give me a break it's your team and for what it's worth in James was the same guy Yankee Stadium what like the defiant how dare you question me hi Paul element within him because he'll like the questions he was dead after game three intensive series last year so when you act all high and mighty Bregman when you act all high and mighty when so might this comes out you guys sit down face the music korabl John would definitely involved they should on a one year old suspension I think that core losses job ads or twenty twenty one is managing to get I put my money on yes Carlos Beltran I would happen to him in many ways you feel for him and what happened when his career as far as trying to be a manager but I think there is a real place in a role for him in baseball sure they'll maybe after all steroid guys back in the game at the Cochin some of them were given opportunities to manage all it's the sort of thing that you don't want to see ever happen again and that's what the punishments need to be severe but they weren't yeah I get banned for life these guys gonna be back in again and it was going to be impossible to prove who exactly did what I grew it out score this was systematic as far as his involvement all he was actively involved so he's got owner he's got to realize that my personal place in baseball is for another year or two we've got to earn back that credibility are back that trust but I it goes for anybody outside reviews how to do that all the guys like Jason Giambi added to that your Bob in a scandal you have rock bottom how do you really have your image his open interview like this is going to be a way to do sell it said to a story that you Frankie is up next the joins us he's on a fact was not be Frank how are you you know basically hopefully because I just.

"Go go. It goes to the Cisco for united front seven but Green Bay's front seven plays a different style. They don't go after the quarterback attacking that that way they hold it stout they will apply pressure. They will at times harassed. A quarterback do some of the things. I wouldn't say that the forty nine so far out there that you just put it in your backpack. They tore them up when they played a few months. They told them there's no question about it but they plant them a second time so we'll see but right now the not does go to the forty niners Secondary You've got Richard Sherman friends on one side and Green Bay on the other. I would say that's even I'd say it's even you Richard. Sherman made a good play on a hurt feeling for an interception in last week's game and he ran throughout perfectly forgot. It couldn't. He was not threatening threatening him vertically because he couldn't run vertical. And I think Richard knew do that on the other side of richer. You got Witherspoon Akilah weatherspoon every now and then they go at him they take him out of the game. They Insert Moseley the lineup. Until they figured out I would say that. This is a check for both boxes. The San Francisco Group is another one. That and I'm as guilty as this as anybody else you keep saying. Yeah but but but what about the what if somebody here they are. They're in the NFC championship game. That went thirteen and three during the regular season. They just keep getting it done at some point. Do we have to stop saying. Hey what if somebody does this that or the next thing to say. The people can't do those things against them because they're having a great season they bomb bomb killer weather. Spool new digs took him up top. They have sitting down after that on. No it's almost like the Garoppolo situation where he said. No YOU'RE NOT GONNA lose his game for us all right head coach. She got matlock floor. You've got Kyle Shanahan. I will go cow Shanahan in this situation I just think Shanahan the defensive coordinator is will they just. It's a better situation for for new all right so you go through these things. Four for the forty niners four for the packers. They push on running backs in secondary. The packers get quarterback and wide receiver. The forty niners get head coach in front seven four two four. What's the difference who wins the game? I think the head coach wins the game for him. I think if Kyle Shanahan learned anything at his time time in Atlanta that he needs to better job at coaching the entire game and not just the recorders. Why isn't mettler floor? Better coach than Shanahan. 'cause I don't really know what matlock floors doing a championship. I don't know what he's doing I know he's in the NFC championship. But I don't really know was sailing. I know is Shannon. I will say this though. Remember after the first game of the season for the packers. An an Roger Three P.. Took little digs. If he will in my opinion by saying we got defense we got a good defense. We have a great defense. That was the first this game out the gate Last week he's hugging up on that floor and they're smiling and they're buddy buddy. He went through courses early in the season where he was handed handed the football to the defensive players and ignoring mental floor. Now he's giving him his credit is due. So I hear you Ki- I don't know what he's doing either sir. Whatever he's doing he's changed? Aaron rodgers his mind because Aaron Rodgers now is acknowledging him to give him props early on thirteen and three MHM number two seed They beat a very good Seattle team to get here. You've got a hall of fame quarterback and if nothing else you haven't fouled it up right if why is that not a really really good job by the head coach. No it's not. It's not that it's a bad job out here. I just don't know what he's doing. I know what Shanahan's door I know. He's calling the plays and he's involved and he's Daland up and he's you know putting it in the right situation. I just don't know that if he didn't have twelve that he would be in this position. Where Kyle Shanahan is in this position? He don't have twelve so it just to me you know do you. Do you come and do what you did against Seattle. If you don't have twelve and you just coaching it up. I don't know that he's doing that. I like that. How much does the first time? These two teams played the thirty seven to eight win by the forty niners. How much does that connect to what we're going Hennessy? In the NFC. Because like you said before it is difficult to beat the same team twice but when you watch the forty niners and the seahawks you watch those two games in the regular season both those this games could have gone either way. You're like okay. They've played ten times. It's probably five and five. You Watch this. There was a real disparity there. The forty niners look like a much better team. It was is in San Francisco. This is going to be in San Francisco. Why doesn't that matter? It seemed like it was a mismatch the first time. Why won't be a mismatch again? Because I think you're gonNA gain plan differently. Are I think you're going to have to do some things a lot. Different name what you did before and I think that they know that I think that whatever whatever it is you make the mistakes. It's like when we played the Philadelphia Eagles in a regular season. They beat us but we knew going back in there in the NFC championship when they beat during the regular season. Do you remember the score was it. Lopsided was a close. It'd be I wanNA feel like it'd be just like two touchdowns okay so what was not close no. I don't think I don't think it was all that that close. Yeah but we knew okay if we did that versus that it would have been different but we missed it. We won't miss it next time around and we didn't miss it. It's we closed the vet and open the link. You Eagles fans out there. Football is the weirdest thing. Change Little Game Plan here there are and it is different and and what team that looks terrible can look really good. The forty niners smashed the rams earlier in the year they played late in the air. And the rams one on blown coverage you throw that out the window that probably win that game that it's just it. It can turn very very quickly. Alex Cora may have told you all what he was doing a long time time ago. You'll hear from him next so the baseball cheating scandal that ripped off the dodgers of a World Series Championship or two twice was right right there for everybody to see so sweet because here. Here's what's funny usually when you have these things there's a nun you guys got it all wrong. That's not what happened. Opened the yeah. There was some stuff. But it's not what you're making nobody from the Astros from the Red Sox. Nobody saying guys. Now, the empire's, by the way are taking a picture with big bird. This is really something if I zoom lens on my camera, I would do this, I would take this picture also and they'll probably all get copies and they'll send it to their Pires museum, or whatever the buyers, have great. So does seventy nine degrees here. Absolutely. Absolutely. A gorgeous gorgeous night the aggies. I hate that, you know, to us on pace, but the Yankees are on pace for one hundred six wins. Meanwhile the Red Sox ten games off their pace from last year when they won one hundred and eight games. They were thirty nine and seventeen through fifty six games last year. And they are twenty nine and twenty seven they are two games over five hundred which is not what they had hoped. We'll be back with the start of tonight's game after this. This is the WFAN New York Yankees radio network and or just forget about it, but here we are Toronto. Raptors in the NBA files for the first time ever, they're up one oh against us warriors team. And they have inqui- arguably the best player in the NBA in for me. Greatness usually reveals itself rather than proves will we all expected in the opposite is usually what we focus on. Lebron James, we knew was going to be great tiger. Woods on the tonight show when he was four years old. But for the most part, the superstars and all the sports that we root for the truly epic players are guys are women women Serena, who we don't see coming sometimes..

"The team decided to accept President Trump's invitation, and then leave it up to the individual players whether or not they wanted to attend which is interesting because I think it's a mistake, which is interesting. But I don't remember how everybody else did it. They did they decide as a team. Did groups of players go and other groups to sire having man I remember there was a hockey goalie for the Boston Bruins. I wanna say his last name was Thomas, right? Who did not want to go? When President Obama was an office. Right. Didn't like him didn't wanna go. And so he didn't. But the team went, but I've never seen this happen. There are guys when the patriots won the Super Bowl in go. Right. And there are other guys didn't go, right. But no would tell me if this has ever happened. Here's what's happening with the White Sox are the Red Sox. As of right now. All the people that are going or white. Every player of color, has declined the invitation. Here's a list of knows Mookie Betts. Jackie Bradley, jR, Zander Bogart's manager, Alex Cora. Raphael Denver's sandy Leone David price Christian Vasquez, Hector Velazquez, all Latin or all black, right? Everybody on the will attend list, including owner John Henry president and CEO Sam Kennedy, and Tom Warner chairman or all white. What's odd to me? Is that this? I think has the ability to divide the locker room and the Red Sox are not playing well this year. I know there's such thing as a World Series ain't over they've played a little better as of late. They've just they've been they've not been very I think they're in fourth place. Maybe third. I think the Red Sox made a mistake here by accepting the invitation if this many people weren't going to go, I think they should have done. I think one of these executives should have done a straw poll should've gone to all these guys and said, hey, we're debating whether or not to go, but we either want to go as a team for the most part if there's a couple of people who want to sit it out. That's okay. But if it's going to be it's a very bad. Here's the very bad looks. Well, I think I have a problem with everybody voting their conscience. Right. I mean that is all the white guys are going all the all the people of that are Latin and black or not going it breaks right on the color lines. It's weird. And I maybe not go. If you're the Red Sox, maybe look at this. And you say look we wanted to go as a team and celebrate. But we're now up to ten different people that don't wanna go. It's making some of our minority players feeling comfortable we've just decided to decline as a group, and we think them for off. Well, here's the thing. The problem is that the manager Alex Cora. I completely understand from Puerto Rico right from Puerto Rico, white he wouldn't go the hurricane response to Puerto Rico, which is a Commonwealth or as a territory of the United States has been shameful. There are still twenty to thirty percent of people on the island of Puerto Rico who do not have electric city after the hurricane and the federal response has been absolutely woeful. And this would be Alex chorus second trip to the White House. He went with the Astros previous leaders two years ago. And and I think your ideas, always well, here's your chance. Here's your minute with the President High the minute didn't work before. I don't know. Why would work again? Yeah. I would always accept an invitation to the White House. But if I was on the Red Sox, I would be very tempted to show solidarity. With the guy with the Latin in the black players just to say, hey, man. Look, we I understand what you're going through. I was going to go. But I. I don't want. I don't want this to divide our team. And I don't want this to break on color line..

"But it is yet to publish the results. It could be dangerous because a lot of people who get blood transfusions often suffer cyanide, you get stuff. But some doctors think it will have some health benefits. You're always asking what's new what's next? You claim your the world's oldest millennial are you in or out on filling your veins with the blood of young people. I I need to see some sort of scientific evidence that suggests that this is good for you. I mean, there's no. But if it is if if you get if you get that evidence, are you sure I would do it. If it's good for you. If it shows that this I feel healthier, and this I feel about any medical procedure. If you don't need it don't necessarily do it. It just I mean, I have no problem with anybody. Who does it? But like this guy said you get major side effects. Sometimes you get a blood transfusion. I'm feeling relatively good. Don't want any new feelings of conflict in my body. I wouldn't do it. Now, I will go and do this about once a month. Get an IV Lisa did it before she went to New York City. Yeah. I do it. When I after I traveled before I travel. It's good to get an IV at hydrate you they put you can get vitamins put in it. So yeah, I mean, if this were, and I believe in that if this works, I would absolutely do. I will not agree to disagree. Yeah. No blood of young people. What do you want Bergman's blood running in villa Bergman's? I mean, come nobody wants that. Nobody wants to track. All right. Alex cora. Boston Red Sox manager is thinking twice about visiting the White House next month than it has nothing to do. With fast food the World Series champs are scheduled to pay a visit to see President Trump at sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue on February. Fifteenth course in the past he would attend however before the annual dinner of the Boston chapter of the baseball writers of America corps indicated he may be rethinking that decision because of the government shutdown. So a few questions if you were Alex Cora, would you go? They've obviously postponed the state of the union address. What makes this complicated? Is that Alex Cora is I believe Portas Puerto Rican. Yes. And said he wants to go to the White House to talk to Trump about Puerto Rico. If he can't this is I don't know if you still have the same position you had last year when we talked about White House visits in general. And you said you wouldn't go I would always go I've actually been twice Lakers twice. Even if I disagreed who were the president's Obama both times. Okay. But even if I disagreed with the president, politically, I would go because the only way you're going to get your view hurt is to get in front of them. Right. And you're not gonna get in front of him. Now, you still feel you wouldn't go. You just hate him the his position so much that you would you wouldn't. I think the way you phrased it was I wouldn't go with this president, which is a lot of Athens go with this president. But wouldn't you want to get in the room with them? And I mean, take shot look the the experiences I've seen like, for example, Craig Hodges. When George Herbert Walker. Bush was the president were to sheiky and read a letter to the president and was immediately cut by the Chicago Bulls. So I don't think this necessarily goes as well as everybody thinks it does I think his point is is it smart to to expend resources of the federal government. Is shutdown. Let me address why he was going to go. Let me address that. They shouldn't be having the Red Sox to the White House. If there's a government shutdown. They should wait. I mean, it's just it's a bad look. Yeah. It's not a time to party and to celebrate. And you know, and and President Trump in Nancy Pelosi are playing this game. While you can't take a trip where you can't do the state of the union bubble and you're going to bring a baseball team in the middle of that. It's just not a good look. So so I don't duck that part of your question. I would delay it by the White House..
