"Start. What do you guys think. You'll make your betting this year. What are you gonna make your most your money sports dude on college football football my bread and butter to me. I think it's the easiest. I find it to be the dan. I find baseball over unders. Easy compared to other places other sports i think that with the nba. But the nba's called up the the lines are called up to the. Yeah i've i've had like you know we've makes it a parlay once in a while. I know you love parlays tyler. Be mixing a pirate. Parleys aren't smart. Betting on a regular basis makes one in the front right right and when you hit him. They're really fun but where the nba. You got an eighteen point. Lead in the beginning of the fourth over under. Oh i do too. And my favorite. I've i've i've made more money not only parleys going on. Just that's in college football college basketball than anything i've ever done. Yeah i think picking spreads like run run differential and betting and baseball is hard to do. It's usually run and a half to me to me. It's over unders. Yeah everything else up over the easiest thing to bet yup the things. I feel confident. I guess nothing's easy to bet but no. Yeah it'd be a lot more tyler. You said what college football nfl nfl. I feel like i know statement. Nfl feel like everything's so tight. The lines are so tight. Margins are so slim and when you get a ten point spread in the nfl. You're like what two touchdown spread. That's like should be dominant and then all of a sudden they flounder around. The team wins by eleven in. It's a twelve points. What you know college football. I agree with gambling. How most people are they. Bet the big game. Yeah now that you gotta go for fun with your buddies or you want you feel great about it now. If there's a if there is a clear you gamble. Yeah you do. My point is the big games are fine. If you've studied you can't just bet the big game because well now if you want to do it for fun and you're not it's not about making money it's about ego pride but when you bet the big games just because the national game of the week but it may not be something you want to touch. Yeah you could make a lot of money if you do it right betton. Fcs schools. Yeah you know what. I'm saying that sometimes the most nondescript game of the week the best one bet quite a lot of mileage there real quick note from the afc south ryan tannehill has been placed on the code list out five to ten days for the titans see vaccinated or not. Yes he talked about how you didn't want to. But he did. Because the. Because eventually i mean with the protocol the accountability to your teammates. And the half to if you do caused them money or loss because you didn't get it now and you become a pariah locker room real quick. That's hard to it when it becomes at. And so that is. There's a lot of people wouldn't get this vaccination but are willing to lose money. 'cause teammates lose money and approach at the unselfish way. And then there some who not saying that theirselves but some of chosen the. I'll take my chances way so far. Yeah so tannahill scott. We don't know what i'm saying. He's on the list contact. Or what have got three players and two coaches. I guess it around now. Yeah whatever it is still outright. Yeah for them. I don't mean this like oh it's a good time. They but if it if they're not sick and they're okay better now than a week from now or two weeks from now when you're late on a season open and you're all my gosh. There's a chance. I'm gonna miss the opener you know what's going to happen somewhere. This year right vaccinated or not right. Wouldn't wouldn't you think somewhere along the line. A player of significance is gonna miss. Because of the late test that he just happened. Even if he's vaccinated could happen. I hope it doesn't for anybody now. Even though go off enough to work. I'd like to think that they can have right. I wouldn't do the smart thing. Yeah so tannahill hill in the protocol right in the trenches up next with Indy clue. Chris gordy followed by the math. Tom show with ross. They're actually working today. Full schedule thank hard. Work at tough and then The atv afternoon and you stay right here. The whole time for tyler. An emcee showing. You just coached and when you coach and do the right thing. Good results happen when you got good players and bingo. He's a world champion and new money and good for him. Sports talk seven ninety. About and i don't know what the rest of the the tyler's ten is but had a question about it and our g and in houston about vacs and the mask requirements. I'm assuming as far as i know. It was asked on twitter. And wouldn't you know right when i'm asking this the twitter's refreshing and you can't open it So i can give credit. Now get credit when it does open. but asking. if there's an energy in the houston texas there's a mask or vacs mandate and i don't believe so matter of fact governor rabbit is put out mandates that you can't do it Companies school wise. That's a battle. But i don't think spars to my knowledge. I don't think there's any it's jeremy. Excuse me jeremiah wheeler. He wanted to know if it would be short-sighted to announce change rules and a passport requirements. As i as far as i know right now there is no passport requirement or forced mask requirement. Vaccines show attica dealer stating net. Just show up now. University of florida and georgia ball said there will be no mandate. There will be no mass. They're indoor outdoor not doing it for their students there. I've done it for the players. Lsu and oregon going in a different route So we'll see what the rest of that'd be more to follow. That will do it. And there'll be more to follow the walt but energy right now. Don't think you have to concern yourself with a vaccine passport awareness mascot stadium at least as far as i know unless something changes and i don't know if they can change it on the fly. They probably reserve the right change anytime they want. The question is will they that certain places. They're not all right tyler. Which got all right. So he mentioned this kid earlier. The little league world series on and south dakota star gavin. where he's been the talk of williamsport. Since the regional stage of the world series he's tossed four no hitters. Has a hundred fourteen strikeouts only allowed six walks and one hit while facing one hundred and thirty two batters now. We mentioned that he has a chris. Sale style pitching motion in which he pitches more like an infielder throwing the ball as opposed to the traditional pitching motion with a potential bright future ahead of him. Should he switch up the pitching motion to preserve his arm or should he keep doing what is working for him but with the hardest thing to do. How change with yeah. You can't change mechanics of that. He's at the cusp now. When i was playing baseball at that age. Because i've been doing it for that. You played so much i was. You couldn't have changed your your. That's why it's important to instill proper mechanics early right. When they're six they pick all start throwing it you try to. Let's try to get to this arm angle. You can't do the same for everybody when people ask. What do you train. No you look at a quarterback you might be different than him when it comes to were his mechanics lion years and it may be six inches arm angle difference but that's where he lives in a matter of fact. His shoulder hurts more if he's in a certain line years. Yeah so it's not. There's no there's no everybody's got to do it one way but when you look at it you start to look at strain. And the the the the past how people do it and what they've suffered from at twelve people always say well. Why can't matt stafford changes mechanics. When he's a adopted because he'd go to helena handbasket can't do that and now you change his lower feet to get him in better position but he's made plenty a great throws out. Why would i change success. And he doesn't have shoulder issues. Rotator cuff issues bernie. Closer was a sidearm guy. And then you go to the perfect mechanics brady. It's fine but he's now at the right now. Twelve he's had success to try and change his arm. Angle may change everything about his game even twelve. And i know we so specialize now and all this stuff but you get in with a guy like tom house or somebody who understands the bio mechanics of the throwing motion and if you want to tinker with it in an off season when he's not playing right now you go touch it. He's dominating you want to go win a little league world series and he gets to the point said what's the strain and you keep keep an eye on it and you talk to people that know more about the bio mechanics of an arm but some guys and he may goes holkar and not have one song trouble. Yeah you know. I'm not putting that on and not going to be knocking to borrow trouble. But the second you start to change drastic changes in certain things. A lotta people can see you see guys at golf in their twenty five thirty trying to make a swing change. Sometimes it works out a lot of times you. Don't they end up going back to what they always do. Right trying. I will never try to downplay. His he's having a great success. I just. I've never been talked. We talked about this form. Never been a little league world series fan because at that age we were playing bigger fields by big way further base. Pass for the back mound like they play on on a field for roy williams. Kids are like four years younger than where they should be playing on bigger fields nonni viewpoint on two hundred foot fence playing on a fifty foot base or whatever forty five foot mound like short. The question wins the wins the chair when they hit eleven or twelve playing. I think you know way bigger. Yeah we're i think we're playing eighty foot basis at that point and now when you take into moving back to see as he grows older and gets to high school in sixty feet six inches and whether pitching from now added with the. Hey everybody's had to adjust at some point. I hope nothing happens to him. Because he shares a joy to watch pitch. Yeah that's cool a blast. He's really really good. And let's hope that This young fella gets to enjoy this. I got you better be really good to hit him because not a whole lot of people touch him of the thirty outs that he has in the little league world series so far this year muslim. Damn near all about four. It's crazy so to tell you that he needs to be some at that age. Kids that are in the batter's box terrorist are sitting in the on-deck circle like or before the game or like. Oh hell near the intimidation factor. Kicks although they're competitive and tough. Every kid has that questioning. Can i hit this guy. And i mean so. We'll see what this kid's phenomenal player. All right what else you got brother so. Espn released an article. That i found was really interesting. it says what. Mlb players would change about their sport and they actually pulled twenty big leaguers and ask them what they would change about sport so they asked him a couple of questions. I'm gonna ask you guys the same ones. Just gimme a simple. Yes or no. And i'll tell you what the results of the big leaguers were is either the pace or length of games in baseball a problem. Yes.

"Tadic vote all right question number two. We mentioned it a little bit yesterday nerlens noel. He's suing agent rich. Paul and clutch sports for fifty eight million dollars. The reason for suit is. Noel claims that paul advised him not to accept a seventy million dollars extension with the dallas mavericks and instead bet on himself. It did not work out. He ended up making only twelve point. Eight million over the next four years instead of seventy. He is currently on a three year. Deal with the knicks worth twenty seven point seven. Does he have a case in this lawsuit because his agent suggested his suggested i usually take the players side but his agent suggests that i've had this conversation with you guys talking about who's the boss in that relationship. You damn right. You are the player so as simply suing them because the agent suggested he pass on the dallas offer correct. He didn't force him to heated. Paul quit negotiate with pass on a because he trusted he felt that neurons. Who's going to get more. Because he thought his representation takes it. Nurlan dwells a better player than what dallas add. Offer whether you think it or not. Okay but i don't know if it goes deeper than this when you i when i heard this i thought oh we just talked about agents and people stealing money or getting in bad investments without power of attorney. Let me tell you something. My agent and i've been with him for oil average eight and a half points dallas. I've been before that. I've been in with my agent since two thousand nine a football agent when i went to broadcast my guy i've had since i don't know nineteen ninety-four same guy. Steve mandel great great friend and and good at his job. We've had plenty of disagreements and plenty of times where he suggested. I do this and i said no i should do this. Or here's the offers. A free agent went. And i chose to stay somewhere instead of go or he suggested will. This is a great opportunity. And they're paying more. What do you think about this. And regardless when he suggested or gives advice. I'm listening and the decision is not his decisions now if i thought he was bad representation and all and lion about deals courses different. He'd never did. If this is on the up and up and also did was suggest you stay as new orleans. Maybe needs to be informed. You go tell them no. No what's the offer seventy million. I'm staying. Yeah mark cuban will be signing the deal and it was it dallas right to go back to dallas right. Tell mark cuban were signing the deal. I'm staying here. I like it here. I'm getting paid. And now if he bowed his say no you're not signing the. We've got a problem. That's you get rid of him. He doesn't see we've gotten to the point now. These agents are celebrities. Agent is not listen. I don't care if it's also celebrity. it's a joke. He has a celebrity and he's in asia. But guess what when. I hire rich paul if i'm a basketball player and it's worth four or five or six percent. Whatever he's charged higher but if it's full service it's ten percent if it's if it's just they get four percent five percent of the money that he negotiates whatever it is and you look at him and say. Do you do that. But i i pay you. And here's the deal. We're going back to dallas so the final. You can get all the insights you want the final deal when somebody sugge- his job is to give you options. I don't know rich. Paul from adam k. I know this was agents summer. Better than other summer bulldogs some art. Some control the sport like scott boras does but when you're agent agent and you come to me with an offer and you put it on the radio. I'll listen and it's also about building. Trust has the as the recommendation come like ten years in a row where the five years. Okay he's good at this. He gets it or have you been at odds all the time and you back and forth and he keeps suggests stuff then you just fire him and move onto the next guy but with this. I don't think new orleans. Noel has a foot to stand on. I don't know i could be the stuff. We're not hearing. It sounds like i mean. Doesn't it sound like he's probably just looking for some sort of settlement and or get some of his contract with rich. Paul possibly to paul separated. They already have. Okay there you go. I don't understand why. Nba players a lot of them. Have yeah i was gonna say you obviously have to separate because well if you're suing guy you probably not working with them anyway. I don't understand why a lot of guys use agents in the nba. Because you now first of all you have to. You have to do your own homework. Become you know savvy on all these things but but you can do that by the money's guaranteed and you can also go look for the cops and the rest. You could ask association to help you. You can also hire a sports attorney for four hundred bucks an hour. I just don't understand the need. For right i get it and by the way for me like in certain fields. You don't understand or how you get to an executive like the broadcast when you're first starting out it's like may need help match max level navigate this right like why would you need you. Don't you say give me the maximum. Not coming back simple. Yeah and then you save the money. Think about now max on two hundred million dollars and five percent. Do the math a lot check. Well two hundred million. Ten percent of two hundred million twenty five percent would be ten million bucks so at ten million. But that's the agents take. I would need to give that up. I if i was like think by james harden forget forever. Not i guess at the agents not doing taking it after taxes. He's taken on the value on the client. If it's five hundred million. Mike trout's agents getting whatever. The percentage of five hundred million dollars same with mahomes james harden used to be represented by actually recently parted ways with wasserman and hired lorenzo mcleod's agent. I don't know rich paul. So i if i don't know what deeper how deep this goes tyler and amc. I do know this players got quit. You can take his advice. That's why you pay him to to lead you down a path because they're supposed to know more but if you have if you feel it's not good go with your gut feeling no i wanna stay and even if it's for less money to stay or go whatever it is or stay where you are then you just tell him. This is what you are. The boss the agent isn't the problem is there are certain agents. I don't know about rich ball. That actually think that they're the boss of their client and they're the bigger stock with the agents have bigger star than the guy. He represents Didn't you gotta ask yourself will worse the priority if he's got five hundred clients and they're all bigger than me and three guys wanna go to the same team. Who's the advise and more right three pitches the one team and they're all getting paid. They're all max type money guys in baseball or basketball. All will two of us want to go to the same place where there's only room for one. Then you start to get into. Who's maneuvering well right or or how it's going but the agent doesn't run the show all right title. What else you got. The player does so number three. The milwaukee bucks extended head coach. Mike booted holzer for another three years after their championship. Run considering many were questioning his in game. Coaching decisions and that he was rumored to be fired unless they won the title. Is it a good move by the bucks to keep him around and give him yes. He's earned it and we didn't give my boot older enough respect. And i can remember. I think it was Jeff gundy on a broadcast during the series. You had said this guy The fact that people are blaming this guys were one of the best coaches. Yeah there's no doubt and we were all on like you know.

"Will ask. Brian bogus civic at this stage of the season. You don't have to ask answer every question. Are you bothered quickly here before we go to break. Are you bothered that. Carlos correa would say that with thirty some games to just said. Hey we'll see what happens instead of saying this is i know the posturing the gamesmanship but is it appropriate. At this time frame. Say this is my last year. The astros i'm out we can get one on the way out. Probably wouldn't have said it either. A huge problem. But i wouldn't have said it. Maybe when the season ended right. Glad i got the second world series. Does just me because. I'm thinking about my teammates. But maybe they already right. He made this may be already conversation. They're having with his buddies. And it may not matter but i don't know if it's mistimed but listen if it's the facts but money talks money talks to keep him here he'll money of course as a as about if you have a million athletes about nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety four cleveland guardians call. That's in a million dollar offer. Guess where he's playing. Skaters triple eight four forty ability. He goes around japan. That's hey the money's green everywhere. It caches cash works We'll see but now was this. We'll hear from brian. Bogus civic and his thoughts on her lander on jake myers is game. And he's playing on carlos correa and his future. That's next sports. Talk seven hundred shots. Formidable french cels very this. Is the sean salisbury show. Very great moment I'm happy we fought back and won As a big game And it was fun to be a part of it like you said I'm glad i was open that situation. I'm happy A lot of fun. But i'm glad we won and Welcome back down number two hard to like what he's about right. I sure love his shame. Hires yeah you gotta love it talking beforehand and it said i left the name out of alex. Rodriguez who's from the miami area but we were talking during the break and saying i would imagine alex alex would be a little bit in crazy to get him to go chris. Not from there. What's he puerto. Rico is that we should yeah. But aren't they tight so tight and he's going to get down to my turf. Because i'm sure alex i mean karl suspensive time. There's we all have and when you get somebody in your ear. And there's former shortstop who an owner i would imagine miami's gonna throw a bundle of money at him and see he's gonna have the choice of a whole bunch of people if it gets to that point correct. Yeah hopefully the money's here and roger favorite player no fighting. This now is brian bogus. Civic astros first round pick major league. Baseball player are joins us he see. At and t. Sports net during the season as well joins us here as always on a thursday. You heard jake myers. There got a lot to get to brian. What i don't know if it's a pleasant surprise of let me ask you this. What were your expectations a him before he. I mean right when he came your. Did you expect these types of results from him no. I don't think it was these types of results. I mean what what they've gotten so far has been extraordinarily I actually went out to a cedars game. I don't know this is probably three. Four weeks before take myers got called up and he was the one guy on the field. That really stood out. I i was expecting to see jose siri delacruz and all these guys and i walked away from that game. Being watched jake myers looks different. Now whether or not that's going to translate you know was tvd but I sort of had high hopes for him. Just because i like his game and in the little bit that i saw it and the more i the more i watch him. I really like his swing. Swing plays the in zone a long time. There's a lot of room for error so I think he can hit at this level. Is it necessary brian. And maybe this is an easy answer baseballwise. I know what it is football. You'd love to have the same guys plan all the time. Is it necessary to have to like the outfield. Is it okay to still at this part of the season. If everybody's healthy and playing. I know i know what the chaz out right now. But if they're all healthy is it necessary to find that one guy dislike or is it okay to continue to rotate people and go with it and matchups or is it is it needed to solidify. The last thirty five games ended the postseason. No you can you. Can you can rotate. You can play matchups. You can try to play hot batch until somebody distinguishes themselves being markedly better and if over the course of the next you know however long that chance mccormack's out whether it be just another week or so or longer if jake myers continues to hit like this he is then the guy and he and he will have earned himself the right to you know be in the lineup on a day. That's a bad match up or plays ways through in over eight or something So yeah you can play matchup when all things are equal. But if you've got a guy you play the guy every day warming up in the bullpen christian havi air your thoughts before dusty call on him in that situation and then after yeah I don't mind christian heavier in that situation. I mean he's got he's got a fastball. That produces season mrs So he's not a bad match up. i think. If that's if that's a playoff game is probably a situation where you wanna. You wanna fire kendall graven early and then have somebody else coming into a clean eighth inning but the fact that it's a wednesday afternoon game in august. I have no problem with christian heavier going into that situation coming out of that situation. I think he made a bad pitch. I think he came in and he tried to locate it fastball. Away to a guy that doesn't have a ton of power to the opposite field and he left it over the plate and he got hit into the short part hurting the part of the field which is as a reliever in a tight game. You don't want to get the on the poolside toe tower and he made a picture. Widmaier field offer boxes. And that. that's it's it's that simple and the wrong guy to make a bad pitch to the way he's swinging the bat in a grinder and it happened in. Fortunately they were able to pull out a win or the narrative might be a little different Today james click on as we do every wednesday. Not sure if you heard it or not with your schedule and your kids. But i asked him about justin verlander. Will he pitch again this year and he said nope. Unfortunately it's done this year and obviously as they work towards the future. He expects him to be healthy again. Jv wanted to the doctors. His doctor said not a good idea. shocking or is this kind of what you expected having seen this movie before dow. That's batch as expected. I think Just just the nature of the injury. You don't want to rush it number. One number two the timeline. That he is on. This would be you know sort of aggressive or best case scenario as it as it could be so so you you would be pushing it anyway And i think just 'cause he he's the guy. He's in his late thirties. He sort of on the last act of his career. He can't he can't mess this up. You know if he puts himself in a situation where he could re-injure it might be a career for for a guy who's got some historical you know milestones that he's still don't that he's still going for In the next couple of years of his career so it's not surprising at all. I think it was very very slim chance if there was any chance of it happening from the very beginning so i. I don't think this was anything that they were counting.

"People have forgotten. Show there you go a little sense of humor. And it paid off with a couple. Hits alex bregman. Good to have him back in tucker's helmet breath when he's running a little bit as you should. You could see when he's when he's running. He's he's i the i feel like he's favorite. He's being cautious. Probably the best way to put. Let me tell you something. If i can have him at eighty five percent without being back hurt. I'm not going to have him. I'll deal with it. Yeah you can't deal with it because some of the really good ones can survive still contribute big time if they're not at their best because if you're one of the better players in the league in you're playing at your best at one hundred percent healthy and all good will then you're always an mvp candidate but those guys just kind of fight through and if you can stay on the field and alex bregman at eighty five percents going to be better than two thirds of the league or more and just as presence matters absolutely is a game changer with one swing of the bat and even though you may not be able to move like he wants to third base just yet he still gobbled it up again i. I doubt that he's gonna move exactly how he wants to move this season. It's just going to be an offseason. Get your body right. Gotta have your compass and find a way to get through it. yeah without making. You know you don't wanna make excuses but to get through it and survive it sometimes. It's the the survival part right and listen if you're this team and there's a ball that's questionable that you can get to know he'll make the effort of course he's got out of the guys that can make and if one of them seeps through on a single in the second inning now on the tenth inning you gotta stop him and choke farrand. Of course. I got testimonies. Very i play yesterday. Great dive stabbed. Knock it down. Make the play. I but yeah he's going to make the effort dusty was right to you. Talked about Pentecostal talker back. I think we forget our we. Don't give talker. Maybe the credit that he deserves for what season that he's had he's been after that rough first month the best hitter on the team. All your love. There is consistent as they gave homerun twenty two. I think at who's leading out today out to banda your don both with twenty twenty five twenty five. Yeah i'm still holding out. Hope that tucker goes on our. You're on at twenty six. He has the league homered again. Yes that's right. i'm. I'm hoping that kyle tucker goes on. Hr benton the last thirty four games. He gets himself with thirty six elite so bold prediction the begins. You pull up his splits. Go look again. The numbers that he's put up the sea. Imagine if he started fast yes. He started in april one. Eighty one was a batting effort but hit five home runs and in may went to ninety six six home runs three thirty eight in june only hit two home runs. That must began three thirty eight to ninety one in july and then so far. August two eighty six even the most consistent player after that first month on the team like think about it too. There has been a roller coaster. For now. it's been. The roller coaster was getting on the field and then at the beginning. Yeah getting through just a slump but you know what the one thing about him. The personality and the approach never changes right right. And that's that's a hard thing to do to a lot of guys when you're going through the struggle emotion runs wild and i can remember. I think it was james. Click talked too early in the season. He's thirty so listen. You wouldn't be able to note with him. He's probably skied. Grown keeps doing his thing. And when you're that good eventually you can't help but hit. Yeah true always known as a guy who could write. You're hitting him seventh in your order. Which in most teams that are not the three or four best the guys in your three four or five hole in most teams in this hell hell. Yeah because i mean even in a to. I mean you think you can make the case that this season he has been there been there best enter yup not a lot of lulls in his game other the beginning of the season few steve many slumps and when i say mini slump shifts like ham. I know for ten. Oh that's that's two and a half games okay. But he's been fantastic and what a luxury to have. Hey you're number two hitter in in some other city it happens to be the number six seven six or seven hole depending on the situation. Who's in the lineup. All season long. I don't know as a guy i mean i imagine. He's hit in the lower part when there was injuries but for the most part he hit after number five most of the year right. I believe softening the injuries. I would imagine he's hit in down in the lower half in line of a couple of times but the majority of it is now you find me in this league right now. A better number seven hitter he hit and every spot in the order season pitching. He's had ten games in the five whole fifty one games six hole in twenty seven games at the seven although isn't as majority he's had just ate at the clean bob but everything else has been to one one two in the six seven. He's got like seventy to eighty seven whole hit or this year. He's hitting to ninety six old hitter hidden to eighty four zero five whole hitter. He said two fifty six so he just made what a luxury. Yeah what a luxury to have astros wise. Hey we're at the bottom of the order at six or seven depending on the order. How's your guy pretty good decent. Yeah maybe our best hitter. Yeah right now so good to have him back good to have bregman back and And excited to go and this. It's time now. We're inside of thirty five games and thirty five games. Exactly roy left the james click thirty sixty. I think it's thirty five after today. Thirty five thirty four after Times game often. Today's friday today's throwback thursday so often eight three with With the rangers and then what seattle seattle next week right chance to put them to bed bed replying better playing better. No i know they are speaking of your bed if you happen to watch. The dodgers padre game. You didn't get much sleep. It just ended. Yeah probably an hour and a half ago when waking up not yet so close. I walked in like five fifteen in tyler. Said it ended like what two hours before it ended about. I think our time about three in the morning at three thirty. I woke up in today's world showering in the clubhouse. Have this stupid extra inning rule with the guy on second base. They'd played sixteen innings last night. Yeah honestly considering it went sixteen and fernando totti's hit a game tying homer in the fifteenth and.

"Leadership right there asked the baton and they were playing himto Pulao shading up the Middle Korea. Didn't tear the cover off the ball, but he hid it well enough to get it through the right side. It is now for two to the tying runs. At first, the go ahead run is at the plate in the form of Alex Bregman. The first pitch fastball in there with 100 for a strike. Last now continues to throw. Nobody else has joined him. And this one is getting a lot more nerve wracking right now for the Rays and their fans. Bregman, one for three had a base hit down the right field line, his last time up Fairbanks the set And the one on the way fastball down and away. Backhanded. Stop by Sonny know to keep it from going to the backstop. Tell you what, Dan, Ifyou're the base runners for the Astros right now, you are on high alert. You saw what happened yesterday, Sam passed balls. By Mike Zunino. Right now, you're clued in making sure my secondary lead. I'm anticipating something on in the dirt or getting by him so that we can move up and get that time run into scoring position. Brantley, the lead runner, Korea, the trail runner. And the 112 Bregman is swinging a fly ball down the right field line, and it will be out of play several rows back into the seats, and it's one and two on Bregman. Again on Lee manager and the staff know who's available going into every night? What kind of role You are okay using them. No, certainly. I think the Ray's got everything they could have asked for out of Nick Anderson, and certainly Fairbanks was rested It always in play. Well, we don't know is the Castillo situation, and we don't know the intent of glass now being up now. Thompson's another guy who makes his into this equation, sometimes Ryan Thompson, but we haven't seen him up it all. It's Fairbanks right now, with the tying runs aboard. And the 12 pitch swinging him is he got him a fastball up in away at 100. Fairbanks strikes out Bregman and the site is retired. The Astros get a couple, but it's still four to Tampa Bay going to the bottom of the eighth. This is the American League Championship Series.

So let's just pray for the Padres. And for teach junior that he's okay. 'cause I saw them on Saturday. Buster what a great what a great feeling around that team. I mean, they just rolled into wash it and beat him a couple times in that room. It was a really good look and a really good feel too. Where that team is going and the biggest reason was the shortstop who's so big so fast, so strong. And so talented, the just hope he's not hurt. So over the weekend. We saw the Indians in the Astros play a four-game set in after the second game is this set which was started by Trevor Bauer he sent out this tweet with a image of an Alex bregman bobble heads nodding up and down in that gives you some context for this tweet from Trevor Bauer give listen what's up, buddy? Did I donate you, Leslie? Yeah. So that was the tweet that he sent out Alex bregman road to the ballpark, which Eskin does that morning. And it was the first thing that he mentioned to or when they got into the car together. Yes. You know, for a part of this Sunday night baseball production would did you see Bowers tweet and his retort was well, I'm glad that he dominated in April. Now the words he's kinda taken dot Adam. I know this is part of the whole let them play thing. No, I'm not wild about this a love the bat, flips and love the emotion the field, this sort of stuff and not wild about. What about you? Yeah. Not sure I understood is. Either bregman came out said Venturi dominated me walk me on seven pitches. Six of which were fired. Many would even throw a fastball that he said I grant at second hit a ball the warning track. Not exactly dominating. I would agree with that. Look, I'm all for showing personality Trevor Bowers, and usual guy, I really like him. He makes me laugh, and I think he he's an odd. Duck enough to to keep watching him. No matter what he does. But not sure this one worked, and I'm not sure you're messing with the right guy when you mess with somebody's competitive as Alex bregman, Josh younger than Tim. And I would you think? Yes. Sorry. I didn't mean to laugh quite so. But yeah, I agree. I don't mind what he was trying to do. I just think it was a little contrived stuff. Like, this is a funny when it when it looks a little bit more spontaneous this one just looked a little bit contrived. But I don't hate the effort. Okay. Well, we'll see. I'm sure that we'll see more along these lines from Trevor Bauer Tim. I believe me. I did not miss the signals that you're trying to send me when you talk about for Nazis junior, saying, you know, when you're twenty years old, you think your body can do anything. Well, when you're fifty five it, your body can't do everything, and you really ought to not be out there on trees, you pay someone six hundred fifty dollars and not wind up in the what do you think? "I'm still going air Nado there. You mentioned was eighty. I'm no, I I think Turner's the closest I'm gonna go. Six thirty or not I was kinda my low end. And then he and Turner a kind of a coin I don't get why JD Martinez is going. Don't get me wrong. I know he's coming off of a huge year after another huge year. But at the same time like Martinez has some injury history injury risk that Aaron auto just doesn't have. No, we haven't we really haven't seen that situation with. No, no. He's been remarkably healthy. And I love JD, and I kind of have them interchangeable, but give me the the third baseman over the outfielder as well. Yeah. I I think we're we're pretty close there. All right. Let's move on to Alex bregman. And I have a question on him. That's not related so much to his total performance. But rather his speed and how much that's willing to continue only ten stolen bases last year after seventeen in seventeen seventeen in two thousand seventeen up down or the same for nineteen. I'm gonna say down. So it can go further that below the ten. No, no, I'll say I'll say pushy. He's getting you'll probably you'll probably have other ten. Yeah. Okay. And listen. Similar to air not though on a lower scale, of course, because he hasn't quite you know, he's done. What knowing they're not as done, but you don't need him. You don't need Alex bregman to be putting up the speed to make sure that he's still a high-quality player. He's going to be hitting in the maybe even higher. I could see that going up. I could still see the batting. Maybe if he doesn't front the league a month for once. He's had slow starts each of his three seasons even six hundred twenty worry about this year is is he going to is he going to because of the hell? Yeah. Slow because he doesn't get the proper reps in spring training. I tend to believe that he'll be fine. Okay. So I'm not as worried about it. He does then move kind of below Machado for me. So yeah. Because he's going ahead of he's going ahead of Machado. I in our in spec- right now. I think that's a bit of mistake, even though Machado lost the third base eligibility. I was about to bring down yet. He only had sixteen. He's similar to Jose Ramirez is second base where he's got into other formats, I do go off NFC he could gain it in season as well. So, but I think I push bregman behind Altoona behind Machado. In kind of closer to to the next guy's on our list, you know, kind of more fifteen sixteen issues opposed to twelve where he's going especially until we see him start, you know, playing in spring. If you start planning spraying, you probably gonna jump right back up, but I love Alex bregman, dude is just on fire on Twitter him and him roasting. Trevor Bauer is like one of my favorite things, they go back and forth on Twitter, but there's a tad bit of a worry there. But not not. Okay, one. Yeah. With that a shoulder, then he had cleaned up. Yeah. Yeah. Elbow elbow. Okay. So keep that in mind, obviously, that's something worth monitoring the one thing. I will say about that is this is something he's reportedly dealt with all of last season. And maybe even before and so there's a chance one if this is kind of cleaned up, and he's feeling really good. Maybe he's even better. And maybe he steals more. Because someone we talked about with Elvis Andrus like who wants to steal after just breaking their elbow. Yeah. So if you're dealing with dilating, or are you really wanting that could account for the drop off in stolen bases last year too. So would it surprise me if he's back up to fifteen stolen bases next year? It would not. That's interesting because you know, we always relate everything lower-half two steals. But you're talking about diving headfirst four steals. Maybe you don't want to exacerbate an upper body injury. That's an interesting point there without Bragman. But you know, he's still a stud, and I think even if he's not running much at all he somebody that you're going to want at that high end. Let's move onto the two cubs. And they are a little split in ADP, but I still paired them together because mainly because their teammates..

"Know, that at some point at least he will be able to go in front of an arbitrator and make your case and say, here's why deserve this much money and not that much money. I think there's just less incentive for players to pulled out her. They know. Okay. Well, I just have to stick it out for a couple years here making the major league minimum. And then at least I'll have a chance to argue in front of some supposedly impartial source that I should be worth more. So I think the arbitration system has kind of killed holdouts in baseball this. Okay. So I understand that by saying this. I put myself in the position of being just like everybody else. I am not a baseball thirty as I'm saying this right now, I'm just a person who's talking about baseball pod guest. Let's say that who's who's a great player who's let's Mukhi beds. Just got like twenty million. Dollars. Mike trout is now in his years making thirty three million dollars. He's on likely to hold out. So let's say I dunno. Alex bregman, for example, out Springen decides to hold out this spring, which you know, he won't do baseball players. Don't hold out there not sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale anymore. But if bregman were to hold out what would happen. And I don't know. I after this podcast is over I'm going to try to do some more research on this. And maybe ask because of course, players are disincentivize to hold out because no one wants players to be able to hold out acts against the league's best interest. But if just one player held out like that the league has so much leverage. Because you can't baseball is not a position where it can all of a sudden decide. Oh, now, we better we better pay the players exactly what just change the structure of the league completely like team like the as or the raised all of a sudden have a massive bloated payroll that they couldn't afford in theory, if they had to pay their players to what they're actually worth if everybody were on the free market. Now someone like Alex bregman is not on the free market. But if he held out and demanded more money, eventually he and the Astros would come to an agreement that is well below at Brigham and it would be worth as a free agent, but he would still make more than whatever he's gonna make twenty nineteen presumably if he is even allowed to hold up because the Astros couldn't go into the season without bregman. He I mean, he's one of if not their single best player, and they could threaten to just move forward without him and say, well, we'll sign more when Gonzales or something, and we're going to be competitive, even without you and then break out of a job, but he's so valuable let's say bregman held out, and I don't know what he's going to get next season. But let's say t- in the answers agreed for like five or ten million dollars, which is still very very low for Alex bregman, but more than he would be expected to earn believe then what the president has now been set such that every single really good young player making the league minimum reclose league minimum with their for want to hold out for more money and everything would be disrupted and baseball wouldn't function anymore. So. So there is clearly something that's very powerful in place to prevent this. I don't know exactly what that is.
