"Covering all the trade rumors because the Dodgers are just linked to literally every player. So that's fun. And then there's the Lakers, continually being used in trade talks is leverage. And here's the thing, like we're kind of waiting for all these other teams to figure things out. It's like every team is dependent upon the something else happening with someone else, right? They're all waiting for a domino to fall. But every domino is dependent upon another one to actually take place. So it's a situation where they're stuck. It really needs a deadline. It needs something to happen. And maybe the LeBron James contract extension date is something that can be some kind of adolescence for positive or for negative. I don't think it's going to set the entire trademark at a blaze, but we'll talk a little bit about that. Joining us now, we've got Sean spaces Davis. Sean, how are you doing? I'm doing all right. Literally feel like I just got off a plane an hour ago, and now I'm here with you guys. Welcome back from Chicago, was it? Yeah. Yeah. Dedicated to the job, love it. That's right. Welcome in. Welcome. And I've got people that chat that are frustrated that there's not new news and they're upset with us. Hold up. Let me call rob pelinka right now and tell him to do something. Let me fix that for you guys. No problem. I can easily solve this. Easy. No problem, everybody. We've got a call. We've got to call the Knicks. We've got to call the raptors. We've got a call every other team. Can you guys overpay for Kevin Durant now so we can get on with the rest of our off season? Right. That's the move. That's really, that probably is the biggest domino. Like if that were that's the one thing where that happened, I think everything else will start to fall into place. Holding pattern, fun times. Brawny Braun said, if the pistons didn't use up their salary cap and said they would take Russ for only one first. Who would you guys brought back? Well, I mean, but they did. So I haven't even been looking at the pistons as a possibility because they did use up their cap space. So I can't even say who's on the pistons that you're necessarily target because they have a lot of younger guys that they're trying to build around moving forward. Yeah, they don't have a lot of movable salaries. Yeah. Would you want Alec Burks in Ireland's Noelle? And I guess Kemba Walker, that the Knicks dumped on them on draft night. Kelly Olynyk.

"So I think you're walking the same line there, but in terms of X players better than why player in X player fits better technically, if you just have to go with this three star model, then I guess technically it would be a better fit. And honestly, I'm not sure if we're going to go down this line, Trevor, but I think out of those three teams, if Kyrie were to leave, I do think it would be the Lakers. The clippers don't make sense because I don't know why they would blow up what is unfortunately such a perfectly built roster to take critical pieces away from that roster to go get Kyrie. That doesn't make too much sense to me. And you can argue the fit is kind of wonky there as well. And then New York, I'm not sure Brooklyn pretty much across the hall to New York, a guy like Kyrie Irving. So if Kyrie were to leave Brooklyn, I do think out of those three teams that would be the Lakers. Well, so the next can offer the same thing they could offer in a hypothetical Russell Westbrook train. I mean, we're talking about Kemba Walker, Netherlands, Noel, Evan fournier, Alec Burks. Those kind of guys are the kind of guys that they could stack up in a deal for Cairo and then of course draft compensation, things like that. I don't know how far that gets them. The clippers, I think they need another guard. Reggie Jackson was really good last season, though. But I do think they need another point guard. And I think they have enough depth to where they could pull it off. So I could see where the clippers would talk to themselves into doing it and saying, hey, we've got a big three and we still have depth because they're ridiculously deep team. If you were to put together like Marcus Morris and some other stuff that you could add into a deal there,.

"Probably not. Exactly Levine does leave if he orchestrates a sign in trade. I don't see the Lakers being that team, and I'd like to say they could be, but I just don't see it because of the hard cap implications and how much salary the Lakers already have on the books. If the Lakers had a bunch of room and a few young players and you could package those things together and you had plenty of space to absorb salary and still trigger the hard cap. Okay, sure. But as is, I just think it's tough to execute or sign a trade like that for Zach lavine. Not even mentioning what the bulls would actually want in a deal like that. So I would say it's very, very, very slim. Possibility that the Lakers get Zach lavine. Slim to none. Slim to Kendrick nunn. MJ Stubbs, who do you guys feel would be best at coach? Well, we actually did an article for that on that today for Lakers nation dot com, Sean, I'm sure you voted for darvin ham in that. I cast my vote for Quinn Snyder, but I've been saying all along. I'm okay with a lot of different options. And I'm going to try to keep an open mind regardless of who they pick. Please don't be Terry stops. Please would be Terry's thoughts. Please don't be Terry's thoughts. Please don't be terribly stuck. I think that's fair to say. That's fair. I don't think it's going to be Terry stotts, though. Mister B Lloyd says his cam reddish a possibility without a hard cap of a sign and trade, meaning have him sign the extension after the trade. Yeah, he still has one more year under contract. So yes, he wouldn't have to be a sign and trade. You could trade for him, then work something out there, whether or not you want to pick up that pick up an extension or work out an extension with him because he is still under contract for another year. So yeah, you could do something like that. And the Lakers, again, they almost had cam reddish at the trade deadline would have been THT going out. Kim reddish, Alec Burks coming back to the Lakers, but again, that was foiled by draft. It probably just to make the math work. I think it needed to be THT and none, but it would have been a three team trade. So I don't know exactly how all the pieces would have fit there. But all we've heard, we've heard THT and possibly Kendrick nun being involved, I think it was probably THT and non and it would have been cam reddish Alec Burks coming back to the Lakers. But again, the raptors and the Knicks they argued over draft picks and it fell apart because of that. Pain. Manny James would be opposed to trading LeBron if we were able to bring in some solid pieces to put with AD or even another star that's not injury prone..

"Still an option? I mean, I think it's going to be one of those three deals hoping it's the pacers or hornet's trade, but I don't think there's going to be very many outside teams involved. I think the Knicks are another potential option. That's a team that's gotten floated around and they would probably actually play him. And they've got some longer contracts that are role player guys that they wouldn't mind partying with. Think about Evan fournier. Players like that, Alec Burks. And we know the Lakers already had some interest in Alex Burke's were a phone call away from acquiring him just the Knicks and raptors couldn't come to terms on draft picks, but they were going to get Alec Burks in the off season. So I think there's already something built there. Orlando, I think, is another good call. Maybe some of the kind of bottom feeder teams, the rebuilding teams that we're not considering. That would only look at him as a contract and wouldn't put them on the floor. Maybe there's something there, but again, I think most teams, if you asked most teams in the NBA, hey, do you want Russell Westbrook for 47 million? They're going to say no. And they're also going to say, where do we play them? There's not a lot of teams in the NBA that need a point guard right now. So again, it's got to be somebody that needs to clear future salary or has the desire to get future picks. Not necessarily a team where Westbrook fits. I think we focus too much on that. And I don't think I honestly don't think there's a lot of places where Westbrook does fit. What would be the ideal team? Forget about the cap and all that kind of stuff. What would be the ideal team to bring in Russell Westbrook right now? I really don't. In terms of Russ, this other isn't one. Because Ross style and that's why I was going to say that like Russ's style doesn't fit in the NBA. Especially when you want him to be your point, because I think there's teams that could get a point guard, but those teams don't want Russ's style of point guard. They want guards that can shoot that can facilitate that won't turn the ball over that aren't making $47 million. And being a headache, that's what teams want, then Ross doesn't have any of those things. He can't shoot his jumpers completely abandoned him. He's making $47 million the headache that you saw as Lake and you experience as Lakers fans the season. Opposing teams don't really want that. So that's why you're really selling them hard on one year, you can do whatever you want with buy them out, whatever, do whatever, but you have one year, you're selling them on future cap space and draft picks and you look at teams. The teams are talking about they all have an incentive to do that deal. The pacers, they're trying to build around Halliburton, endorphin and potentially miles Turner, and that guard room in Indiana right now is really loaded with broad and heel, duarte, Halliburton. You go to Charlotte, they're going to have to pay lamella with mellow is contract extension eligible after next season, I believe, correct? I believe so. And then you have to pay miles bridges and he's reports are saying it's going to want to max contract. I think that's an overpay, but they're going to probably do it. So you're selling both of those teams on future cap space down the road and draft picks. And that's why those two teams make the most sense..

"And your Lakers did nothing. No, no moves from the Lakers. We're going to break down the what this really makes. I think this, it's easy just to look at this and say, oh, that it's nothing. The Lakers didn't do anything, and that's it. No, I actually think that this means a lot about the rest of this season. It means a lot about this off season and everything else. So we've got a lot to talk about still joining me is Sean Davis from Lakers nation dot com, Sean, how are you doing? I'm doing all right, and I just want to highlight what you've been saying for a little while and now no trade is better than a bad trade. So there's something to be positive about. Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of Lakers fans. First of all, let's just start here. A lot of Lakers fans are frustrated that the Lakers didn't make a move. And that's understandable, especially given what happened last night against the blazers. That was bad. Very, very bad. That was not a good time. Yeah. And so a lot of people were saying, okay, well then they've got to do something. You have to fix this. You have to do something. And so fans are frustrated, of course, that the Lakers didn't do anything you're even seeing national accounts that are commenting about how the Lakers didn't get anything done at the trade deadline. I understand that frustration. Don't get me wrong. I was hoping. Hoping that the Lakers would find something that would make sense and pull off something as well, but it did not happen so fan frustration totally reasonable. I'm seeing a lot of fans that are just upset right now and I think that's a normal thing. And I know you've been seeing the same thing. Yeah, yeah, I've definitely just seen the same thing. And I mean, I get it. I think I said it even last night on the postgame show. I was like, there's no, I thought it was no chance rob pelinka and the front office looks at this roster as, yeah, we're fine with that. We're Bible, these are the blazers, there's only a pretty assignment to use of. But I mean, I think towards the end of the deadline, there was rumors about Terrence Ross, maybe I think I saw at least somebody told me it was THT in the first no, don't do that. So again, no trace better than a bad trade, but I was definitely a little surprised that the Lakers did make a move considering what happened last night. I didn't see anything reliable on the Terrence Ross thing, but we did have the rumor that broke late last night, it was from Michael Scott of hoop site, but then later confirmed a few hours later by Ian begley, about a three team trade between the Lakers, the raptors and the Knicks that would have landed the Lakers cam reddish as well as Alec Burks in exchange for Taylor Horton Tucker and probably Kendrick nunn would have been in there. And then there were some picks that would have been going to the Knicks. We don't know if it's the Lakers first, would have been in or whatever. That was something that apparently did have some traction. We also heard Lakers and nicks had some talks throughout the day that maybe there's something that was going to happen there. But that ultimately, the Lakers decided they didn't want to part with any draft picks. And so I think that tells us a little bit about what the mindset is moving forward. See, a lot of people saw the blazers game and thought, oh, well, clearly, they have to get something done. I think the Lakers may have gone the other way..

"Celtics aren't doing that. Daniel said you guys don't get it. If Russ isn't traded, you're calling it a career for LeBron without a champ. Well, without board championships, you have to chase the championship this year and next. I understand that. But I'm saying, what moves are you going to make? Who knows? Maybe rob palinka has all of this lined up and he's going to make a bunch of moves tomorrow and the Lakers become the dominant team. But right now, it's hard to see something realistic that the Lakers do at the trade deadline that transforms them into a championship team. So if that's the case, does it matter if the move is made at the trade deadline or in the summer? And in the summer, I think there's some more options. And I'm not saying I don't want them to make a move tomorrow. I'm just saying, I don't know that there's a move that can get it done this season anyway. So if that's the case, you probably have more options in the off season. If something comes up tomorrow, that makes sense. And the Lakers think it's going to help them this season and can help them in the future? Cool. You do it. You do it. And if that helps you make a push this year, great. Of course, you do everything you can to win right now. But what you don't, you wouldn't want to do something now where you push all your chips in and go get somebody on an expiring contract or something to try to win right now and then you leave yourself in a bad situation this summer where you can't get going for next season. Yeah, and the deadlines in low under 14 hours away from now. So unless something happens and that time frame, Lakers are likely going to push all the chips in for next season, LeBron's last season on contract for the Lakers and yeah, I think next year is the year the Lakers got to go big with LeBron's last year on the team, potentially last year on the team. They could obviously always resign them after that. Jason, I believe we have to come to terms with expectations for the season. Love you guys. Well, thank you. Appreciate it. Lords of the sky, did you guys hear about a possible trade with the Knicks? Russ DJ Ellington and assuming the 2027 pick for Kemba Walker, Evan fournier, Alec Burks, it was on ESPN. Yeah, that one's been going around for about a week now. Look, Russ was really bad against the Knicks, so I can't imagine they were looking at that saying, hey, we really want to trade for him right now. I also heard today that that's not really something the next are interested in doing. But right now, there are literally rumors, contradicting other rumors. You've got Brian windhorst says the nets and the 76ers are in trade negotiations. Adrian mergen Rousey, they're both from ESPN is saying the two sides haven't talked. Like there is so much smoke. Yeah, we talked about that in the spaces really. There's so much smoke out there right now. So I'm not saying the next absolutely are not interested in just won't do it, saying that's the last thing we heard, but right now there's a lot of misinformation out there. If that's on the table, if you're the Lakers, you absolutely explore it. It's something that you try to decide. Is that something that you want to do?.

"Please. We changed someone. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, in the only reason he played was because RJ Barrett and the health and safety protocols will be toppings in the health and safety protocols. And Alec Burks missed the game, I believe due to the birth of the child I may have that wrong. I know it was definitely for personal reasons, but I think that was why. So that slid knocks up and he got some minutes. I mean, good for him for semi taking advantage of them and doing something with them, but yeah, there's no value to be had there. No one's traded him for Kevin Knox as maybe he gets in a deal as a throw in for something. But I continue mine now defining memory of Kevin Knox as I believe we may have been sitting with each other or barf nod. We're there. Zion at summer level the rag doll. He bragged all the rebound from him and through it down and sent the entire press row into fits of laughter because it was a cool crap. This is what we have with Zion. So I don't think he's on the list. We should talk about that briefly. Because of the weekend. Shut down. We don't know where we're going to see Zion now. It sounds like he's still got some foot soreness. There's been some reporting coming out of New Orleans. Daddy's been skipping rehab workouts. Tim McMahon reported. He was 330 pounds. That's like Shaquille O'Neal sized big. And he's not 7 foot no. He's like Jack is. He's closer to about 6 foot 6 or 6 foot 7. So yeah, I mean, just do what you gotta do, get it right, man. We want to see this guy play. But yeah, so just want to throw that in there too. Yeah, not great for Zion Williamson or the New Orleans pelicans. Obviously not what we wanted to hear in regards to him. The Kevin Knox thing just to kind of put a bow on this. We always talk about reading between the lines in terms of who benefits and everything very clearly. This is the next putting out there. Hey, look, everybody pay attention. He just played and he did fairly well. So I mean, a lot of teams are looking for wing players. Maybe someone talks themselves into taking a flyer on him or something like that, but it's not something where they're going to get major value in return. Exactly. Yeah, I would also say there's a potential here that Knox's agent was a little like, hey, trade from a guy. That could be true to life somewhere else too. So yeah. But yeah, I mean, that would be one where the Knicks and Knox's camp would be likely working together to let's move on. The Orlando Magic have draft capital, AKA the first round pick in exchange for Terrence, Ross makes sense for the magic to move on from him. He's a veteran by the time they are good again. He won't be around anymore..

Tom thibodeau came out and told reporters that Kemba Walker is out of the rotation in New York. This has been a wild ride for Kemba Walker over the first 20 ish games of this next season. He started out playing really well at one point he was shooting like 56% from three, those numbers have cratered, and now it's Alec Burks that is the starting point guard for the Knicks in Kemba Walker for now is out of that rotation. What's your reaction to Kemba's very short honeymoon in his hometown? Brutal, just brutal. Let's talk about on a human level first because it was such a celebrated homecoming in Kemba Walker, one of the all time good guys in the league and he was so excited to come home, come home to New York and play for the Knicks. And, you know, there was there was such a poetic element to this in a very just endearing emotional aspect of that whole story. And I think everybody wanted the best. Obviously, the Nixon Kemba wanted the best, but I think all of us who, you know, love following canvas career. A good homecoming story is irresistible. And Kemba's enthusiasm for playing at the garden playing for the Knicks was just, you know, it was moving, frankly, but these homecomings often don't go as planned. So that when Stefan marbury came to the Knicks, we've seen it with other players in other places as well. Look, the risks of Kemba Walker were all known when they signed him. Yeah I think they got harder to play against offensively because they're actually going to be able to be creative and space the floor and shoot now. Going out and getting avan fournier going out and getting. Resigning Derrick Rose and going out and resigning Alec Burks. These guys make that harder to play against. And hopefully they even Kemba like Kemba hasn't looked like Kemba in a while but he's still a very solid high volume three point shooter and at the price they got him. If that's even like 70% of Kemba that's that's awesome. Yeah totally. So they got harder to play against offensively which is the thing that they desperately needed. And they still have a lot of the same pieces that made them very difficult to play against defensively. Like RJ Barrett was a really good defender last year. I know this was you know the the analytics say he was not a great defender. He was really good. Last year on the defensive end I thought. You know obviously getting 48 minutes of really high level rim protection from Nolan's Noel and Mitch Robinson for a large portion of the season. That was huge for the Knicks. They were really good. Julius Randle is big for a four man and can move his feet and can do some different stuff. Taj Gibson was really effective defensively. Like they have guys that are good defensively they did lose Reggie Bullock and if it was me I would have kept Reggie Bullock over Alec Burks at the price tags that they each signed for. But you know what? Yeah that's kind of parsing a little bit I think. And you know on top of that they go out and they get Quentin Grimes and miles McBride and Jericho Sims all three of whom I think are genuine plus defenders and project as genuine plus defenders in the NBA. So yeah I like this off season from the Knicks. I think they did about as well as you would think. Yeah you had Sims like at the near the top of your pick and roll defense bigs right? I did the subject category rankings yeah. Yeah potential G league blocks leader Westchester Nick's defense is going to be unbelievable with if McBride and Sims spend time down there. Yeah they are. And you would think that they're going to given the fact that New Orleans Noel and Michelle are they getting money? And miles McBride and yeah they're just not getting minutes. It's going to be tough..

"One's going to be very interesting and fun to see how it ultimately comes together way if it does, you'll come together but on the net side. Yeah they've lost now. Spencer Dinwiddie a big, John Cena aggregate, but I think in the long run or I guess in the more if you look at the more recent history, not a huge loss cuz they didn't have him for most of the last year, they've got James birth. Now, what I did, they added Jevon Carter or will add Jevon Carter that he'll probably soak up most of the backup point guard minutes. Behind Kyrie, Irving, Landry shamet, headed out as well. And then, as you said, they re-signed Blake Griffin, they lost Jeff Green. So, you know, for the notes I think it's kind of a they're about the same, you know, which is really good like like, I am incredibly good. Yeah, yeah. So let's see what they get for Dinwiddie and then, you know, then we can evaluate this one a little bit more fully. So maybe by the time, we're done with the ship will have those those details of full flow off to us, but you want to move on to the next team that was very busy the next. Yeah, incredibly busy. Yeah. So the Nicks focused early on on re-signing their own guys. Alec Burks and not snow L, 3 years Thirty million for Birds three years, thirty two million for Noel, you know, pretty good value contracts. I think for both of those guys they're going to lose Reggie Bullock. He's going to head off to the Dallas Mavericks so that It's a loss for them. You know, good shooter on the wing for the next, then they added 48, as we said and then they're going to re-sign Derrick Rose as well. You know, for the max that they can re-sign him for three years, a little over forty million or so in that range. So, Jewish Randall became fully guaranteed as we knew he would. You know, they're so. So for the next I I, I liked these thoughts re-signings. I think the 48 Edition is a little interesting. It's a little odd that they timed all these up to be 3 year contracts. I don't know exactly what they think is happening in three years, but they've clearly got some kind of planned going, but, you know. So they're kind of the same running, the same team back with 48 in for Bullock. And if you look at it that way there, a better teams, four days have been a Slayer than Bullock. Yeah they're better that sense. But I don't understand the long-term commitment to Fournier. I would have rather seen. I feel like this is it's not quite the same level but this is more of an old Nick Smith. You know, we got we got used to like the new Niks that we saw a lot of seasons made all these smart moves and everything worked out and looked 48 codes..

"Them to finish the season off strong after coming off of that just three and three road trip which was a brutal road trip was hard. It's long and they figured out how to beat the spurs. They figured out how to beat the hornets and they figured out how to beat the celtics. You know that's the way you win the season man that that is like as a knick fan i mean the they wore the white jerseys yesterday it was great it was just. That's the way it should be that in mind. Thank god that they finally finished away. They should finish. And and here's all you know. Here's my hockey reference for you. Know what tiptoe is. The next is what barry trotz is to the to the islanders. The islanders their star mathew barzal. And then they have a collection of other guys that are kind of like alec burks and reggie balk. And they'll run you over del bill. Just absolutely be a pain in the ass to play against and they nowhere to be. They know their structure. They know their defense. They get a backup goalie plan because they're starting always not not healthy and all of a sudden what do they do they go out there and they just play toe to toe with the pittsburgh penguins and they're stars crystal tang and of course Sidney crosby evgeni malkin yesterday. I don't know if he'll come back or when he's coming back but man that was unbelievable and call paul. Murray thing and this is why you got him. You got them for the playoffs. And you know i think what what he needed more than you know what he needed more than anything. He needed his beard beard. Yeah he got the beard so just like james harden got the beard call paramount palmeiras got the beard back and all of a sudden scores. Two goals and away we go. That's the thing that excites you most about the islanders. If you're an islanders fan is the fact that paul. Mary who did not play very well and was not productive. After the trade he wasn't he was not producing like they expected them to showed up in a huge way necking. It's true i now. Maybe he takes off from mir by the way that tristen jewelry that goaltender for the penguins who terrible glove side high every time. He must have a blind spot..

"Group is always going to be like for whatever reason like one step below and it's just a rock fight every time we get on the on the basketball court. I do feel the same way. I've been wanting that four seed home-court advantage for them this entire time it's still attainable. Felt like it probably wasn't going to end up that way because it was going to be harder for them. So and i bought wanted to avoid miami but maybe they won't i just at this point i believe i do and i nothing that i said yesterday or this morning changes that i do believe in this team and i do believe that they can win around and then who knows from there where they can go so hopefully the matchup doesn't matter that much but you're right. The path is going to be. I'm sure it's going to be difficult one. Oh by the way if you look around. They're starting to get hurt. C. that knicks. Pr tweet yesterday. Made my stomach turn. Yes they just snuck that out there. In the middle of the day it was like derrick rose ankle questionable. it was like oh come on. You gotta be kidding me with. This just goes to your point about how everything is difficult. Always hard here. Going reggie bullock sprained left ankle. Alec burks can twos left. Knee emmanuel quickly sprained left ankle. Derrick rose sprained left ankle all questionable for tomorrow's game against san antonio guys we knew about but bullock derrick rose thrown in there with burks and quickly. It's the last thing as good see. This is the heart. This is the thing you want to finish your season strong. Have three home games here. You win those three home games. You put pressure on miami. You put pressure on atlanta. Have to win their games. And you know. Atlanta wins again last night. So they knock off the the wizards two games in a row which has not been easy for anybody in this league but they do it and look. It's hard it's also also is thinking the same thing about the new york rangers have won a stanley cup since nineteen ninety four but man. It's a pain in the ass ever since lovie and crosby have gotten into the league. It's just been a grind. It's always a freaking grind and there's always a team it that seems like they come out of nowhere like tampa has come out of nowhere. They draft victor hedman. Next thing you now. They're running roughshod over everybody in eastern conference. And you see what's going on and carolina. You see what's going on down in florida and you're saying is help what the hell's my team been doing and how hard it is to actually sustain championship level roster and still be you know and still be young enough to have a future and that's where the rangers are now and i have to say this about chris. Drury essay had been excruciating day for him. It had to be an excruciating day for him for people who don't know he fires a guy who was the head coach at boston university. That's where he played as a player. Well of you know. Well i think it was well before. obviously quinn. Was there as a coach. But you know that's a common thread right. There and chris was a big part of david. Quinn leaving boston university coming here. The coach young rangers and to turn around a culture that had been to a bed had been built. I believe by john twitter originally when tortorella finally took over the rangers. he he taught. The rangers had played defensive hockey. How walk shots and he was lucky..

The Lead
How Joel Embiid Became An MVP Contender
"Also derek. Last season ended in pretty disappointing. Fashion for philadelphia. That'll do it. The boston celtics move on by defeating the seventy sixers. Four games to nothing. The first ever went wrong in that first round against boston for embiid and the sixers. I think a bunch of things went wrong. First of all. You can't start without saying this. Ben simmons zone. Outside of that sort of what went wrong was wrong with the sixers all year. The team didn't fit well yet. Al horford and josh richardson. Who were tough it's around a post op center and embiid. Richardson shooting for three ended out. They didn't have a real reliable second often times during the series alec. Burks was your secondary options on offense recipe. Brad stevens and the celtics and bead romeo leg for the rookie thinking about double vacates birds. Who can't make them pay. So there is a lot of mistakes that were made roster building and there were missing. Simmons isn't it was a tough series for sure. Can you remind us what the narrative was after that first round exits surrounding joel embiid and his performance. Yeah it was fascinating because on one hand when they came back into the bubble they had spent pretty much those months in between working with you all to get better at handling dull teams and it came out in the bubble in orlando during the seeding games and some of that had started to show and he looked like he was handling double teams better and he came out against the celtics. And i think that he converted back a little bit in terms of struggling with the double team and bead backing down ties gordon hayward on the help and they come up with the steel but he was dominant as an individual score. That was locked off and be. Did it again. Safe focused joel. Fb five of seven. Give him thirteen of his team's thirty one. We'll lifesaver on that. So i think a lot of people looked at you made steps. He did most of what he could do individually. He just didn't have enough help around him. Well that disappointing end to a long season led to a number of changes within the sixers organization. Can you take us through. Some of the moves that philly made in the off season and how they related to unlocking the better performances from joel. Embiid is off the front office. Obviously brought daryl morey To work above. Elton brand and then they brought in doc rivers replace brett brown and then you had some pretty key addition to traded al horford for essentially danny green. And then josh. Richardson for steph curry. And i think those two editions have been pretty big with joel. Because i think if you look either trade you'd say the sixers got the lesser talent but the fit and just having to players in curry and green. Who the other team can't leave has been huge for. Joel shoe autom- double wall and pass. And you miss accomplish you. Miss a lot of shots You just straightening and then you start thinking of all you gotta do everything by yourself. 'cause everybody's not made the shots. Richardson horford they were not only inconsistent shooting. If they are unwilling shooters and they'd hesitate any office. Which is kinda come grinding down to a halt not only is curry making his shots and all these green making his permanent shots. But the ball is moving around the perimeter. Much quicker than it was. So there's more consequential doubling joel embiid than there ever has been monarch got a lot of assists but Ogle gets one us open. Invite double or triple team has a lot of hockey else's shake milton hinton to downtown ten points and ten minutes off the bench make no mistake that play which about drawing the double and then the ball moving east gotta be willing to be content. That the ball's the swing opposite and he's gonna creative for shots teams are now left with a real choice whereas before i think the whole strategy just send you all need help and disguise it a little bit senate in different locations but if you send it frequently enough you're going to confuse joel embiid or the sixers aren't going to have the talent or the players to make him pay. I think that's changed now.

Grizzlies' Andre Iguodala situation is ugly, but this is how the trade game is played
"The trade deadline is Thursday and by the way do you have an opinion on de Angelo Russell I I got to tell you this at first I was completely in favor of moving him but having gone to a few games Polly being is the partial season ticket holder and fill up man he is a beautiful score he really is and maybe the idea of him and clay and stuff on the same team is kind of intriguing you know not the roster destruction be interesting but right now the timber wolves aren't offering enough so the ways do you have to make a move though to get under attacks line otherwise have to pay a forty million dollar fine I think a lake of even as much as he likes his who concerts in his post Malone concerts and he's not looking to pay forty mil right so Alec Burks could move a blend Robinson could move yeah Amari Spelman could move Jacob everything will come on Looney could move by you gotta wonder what his future is I mean it's unfortunate because he was became such a dependable player for Steve Kerr but I mean I don't know is is he ever going to get back but the real story planned out is with our old pal Andrea you get done yeah how about this is a really weird story he hasn't played a minute from Memphis this year and by the way I think he's making like seventeen Mill seventeen seventeen Mill and I am a little unclear I've tried to read up in much again yeah one clear as to how he can just stay away like is there something in the CBA were like no you gotta come play for is like the guy in office space is again just not going to work anymore I'm just not going under you've missed a lot of games I wouldn't exactly say missing at and I by the way when it when Andriy does come back and go to practice the question is does he clean of fish on newspaper in the locker room do does the does god can offer yeah so anyway so they're going to try to move him and get some for him chained to a veteran team and now the Memphis Grizzlies having a surprisingly good here the twenty five and twenty five they actually hold the eight spot right now they do they got young players like John Moran and they got Dillon Brooks and Dillon Brooks finally just yesterday said you know what we young guys on the Grizzlies a few Andre staying away yeah you can email this
