"The Mason Minute with Kevin Mason. Walmart is putting together another experiment. They're experimenting with shopping carts. They're doing this in one of their Kentucky stores in Mayfield, Kentucky, and they're building different kind of shopping carts. They're now deeper. You can put more stuff in them. They have a built -in cup holder and a built -in phone holder, making it more convenient for you to walk around. But here's what's interesting. The one thing that got people really upset about these shopping carts, you have to put down a deposit. Much like when you go to Aldi, it's like, what, a 25 -cent deposit to be able to get the shopping cart, and you get the money back when you put the shopping cart back? Well, Walmart has had a problem with shopping carts disappearing over the years, as do most grocery stores, as do most big box stores. Well, they're making you put a dollar inside a machine, and if you don't put the dollar inside the machine, you can't take the cart. You get the dollar back, but people are upset, and now you have to put a deposit on the cart, and you have to self -checkout. I think the self -checkout is the part that's really got people upset. We went into Walmart the other day, and there was only one checkout open, but like 30 self -checkouts. They're trying everything to cut costs. They're going to lose customers, too.

On 1st anniversary of Uvalde, Texas, school shooting, Biden says 'it's time to act' on gun control

"President Biden is marking a year since the elementary school shooting in Texas by urging Congress to do more in curbing gun violence. I realize this is a really tough day for old families. At The White House, the president stood in front of 21 candles one for each victim of the uvalde massacre, like too many other places in America, he says rob elementary became a killing field. And these place we hear the same message. Do something. After you've Aldi and another mass shooting in Buffalo, Congress did pass the most significant gun safety law in decades, but the president says that's not nearly enough. With guns, the top killer of American kids. It's time to act. Repeating is called for Congress to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines. Sagar Meghani, Washington.

"The morning may 20th, 2023. Welcome to WTO. It's one 28. Traffic and weather on the 8s, good morning to Carlos Ramirez with this is early opera in the WTO feed traffic center. Good morning, dean, new accident scene on route 50 headed through Aldi watch out for this if you're ready to eastbound soon after route 15 on your approach towards trailhead drive sounds like all lanes are blocked and I'm seeing some delays on the westbound side as well. So you may find yourself under police direction, so good and follow police direction. Again, 50 eastbound near trailhead drive sounds like they've got some issues westbound as well causing delays, eastbound 66 past 28 should be a single lane getting you by the work zone. Once you're past the fairfax county Parkway, you should be fine, though. In a loop of the beltway, two work zones for you. First one will be after gallows road a single lane on the left gets you by that one towards 66. After 66, all lanes open up until that is about route 7 in Tyson's between route 7 and the American legion bridge, a single lane of traffic on the right is what's getting by and that's why you're sitting in such dramatic delays right now. Feels like rush hour, maybe even worse, outer look at the beltway after the American legion bridge, two lanes on the right get you by that work zone, beltway traffic near New Hampshire avenue. There was an accident scene looks like it's been handled so no worry there any longer. If you're heading on the eastbound side of three 95, the southeast Southwest freeway looks like a broken down vehicle blocking the right lane on the ramp that normally takes you onto the third street tunnel looks like you just got to avoid them, watch out for their hazard lights there. Sound bound, D.C. two 95 hearing reports of a crash. As you make your way towards a suitland Parkway and finally, if you're headed on three O one over on the eastern shore, northbound has all lanes shut down right by warrenton farm lane, follow police direction. What We Know About the Nashville School Shooting

"Let's talk about the shooting that happened in Nashville at the private school. Right now, according to the information that I have, I don't have any indication of the motive of this young person, according to reports, it was a female, looked like she was around school age. I think it just came out. My producer was telling me that she was a former student at the school, which it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that, given the fact that she went into the school through a side door, she automatically went to the second floor and began shooting. When I see something like that, what it tells me is that it's personal. It tells me that if somebody is familiar with the school, because if you're just going in to do a random shooting, you bust in the door and then you just shoot in the first people you see. In many cases, people like that are not effective. Thank God because they don't know the layout of the school. They don't know if they're going through the break or not. But somebody that's going to the school and pick the appropriate time that they know they're going to catch the people that they want to catch. It appears that it was about 6 adults shot and three adults shot and killed three children shot and killed. And the speed of response of the police officers were absolutely astonishing, I can't believe it from the time the call came out, which was around 12, I think it was like 1213 or something like that. And they were able to eliminate the threat at about 1227. It took them about 14 minutes to completely eliminate the threat and the active school shooting. Now, that's a good and a bad thing. It's a good thing because that was a tremendous response, not like you've Aldi where it took them an hour or so to get into the school and it was a lot it was a lot more of a complicated situation. Seeing officers be able to respond quickly and eliminate the thread on the second floor, was very impressive, given the fact they didn't know where to shoot it was. They ended up clearing the first floor of her some shots they went up to the second floor and eliminate eliminated the threat.

"So much there in the intentions of the heart and then the outflow of that. And in a lot of these stories, the consequences of that. But we do get a little bit of a reprieve, a little bit on Friday reading about king asa. Love asa. So we get a little bit of a reprieve reading about king asa, who I appreciate when scripture will say something like second chronicles 14 two. Asa did what was good and right, and the side of the lord has got because sometimes I can't tell what's happening if I'm honest with you. Like I had to reread some of these chapters. A couple of times to be like, wait, who did what? So I just want to encourage you guys as you're reading. You might need like we were talking about needing a whiteboard in here in the podcast studio because it's like, who's doing what? And the names are similar and you're like, who's aligning with whom? So it is okay that it gets confusing. And people are rarely all good or all bad. Sometimes. Often in not all times. Well, and to be Frank, I was kind of trying to determine here like, whose side should I be honest? And it shifts. It changes. You know, like, oh wait, I'm on the lord's side. Great. And he is on the side of his people, right? Who are all of these people? And are at odds with one another. But there's some really beautiful passages that y'all are going to read during these chapters about asa, where he is crying out to the lord and saying, we talk about last week we talked about where does David, what does he trust in? Where is he getting his strength? And so you see asa in a few different places, get that right. And say, lord help us. You are our God. Our hope is in your trust is in you. And the lord acts accordingly. And then NASA doesn't. I was like, asa, a mixed bag. A mixed bag. And that's all of these stories. Yes, well, and I think that's the beauty of it. I actually wrote down in my notes at one point. When everyone is messing up and they're making idols, they're getting mean. They are very unkind. And then they repent and God forgives them and I wrote in my notes, which feels unfair. It feels unfair in my heart to say, no, they were bad. They should be punished. There should be consequences. There's a part of me. And not generous of me to realize Melissa, that's you every day. That is a moment this morning you went to, I went to an Aldi opening. There was an Aldi store, there are grand opening, and I was with a friend, and there were all these people and the first hundred people in line get a gift card, which is exciting. And I was so worried we were going to get there too late. And as we were driving very quickly, out loud, I said, with my friend in the car, I said, please Jesus help us to get to all the on time to get gift cards. And then I thought, wow, that was my first prayer of today, was God help me get to Aldi on time. Like, our hearts just go in dumb directions and silly directions all the time.

"We will be here each and every week at this time, Tapping into our Bloomberg intelligence analyst covering some 2000 companies and a 130 industries worldwide. We have a little battle gearing up between the popularity of the discount grocery retailers like Aldi and lidl. Versus the big giants like a Walmart and Kroger can the two coexist can the little guys really compete to help us answer the question we're joined now by Bloomberg intelligence senior packaged food and retail analyst Jen bartas. Jen, before we get into the competition, I feel like it's worth talking about how little and Aldi have grown and sort of what their command of the market is right now. Yeah, it's been really impressive. I mean, Aldi has been in the United States since the 1970s. So they've been around a really long time. Lidl has been a much later entrant. And it's only been in the U.S. for the past few years. But both of them are increasing their store count really quickly. In fact, Aldi was the fastest growing grocery chain in the United States last year. And they have way over a thousand stores. And so people take for granted just how quickly these chains are growing and that they can be placed in very small stores. And so they're in neighborhoods. And so they're very accessible to a lot of people as well. How do they do it? Do they have generics? Do they just really eat it on margin and hope them volume makes up for it? Because I could imagine that a Kroger and Walmart are able to buy in bulk and really be aggressive on pricing. They are, but these stores actually are more competitive on price than a Walmart or a Kroger. But the majority of the products they sell are private label products. But it's not what most people might remember private label to be. So if you go in and all the you can buy gluten free products, you can buy organic products. It's very, very consistent with what you would find in a normal grocery store. But because these stores are small and they offer only a limited assortment. So they might have only three different types of pasta instead of 20 types of pasta. They sell really high volumes on the limited number of things that they sell. So for them, they make actually good margin because they're selling it huge volumes on those products. So it makes them very competitive. And it allows them to keep their prices. Oftentimes, lower than at grocery stores. Is this the real deal for them? I mean, you mentioned that Aldi has been around for decades. Is it happened to be a post pandemic inflation story for them? Or is this a sustainable market share steel really? This is a sustainable market share that the discounters have been slowly leaching, share away from traditional grocers. For quite a long time, it even starting before the pandemic. Obviously, they're getting a big boost because of inflation. And the more expensive food is, the more people look for places to buy food that is less expensive. But the total market share that these discounters are garnering has been growing consistently for at least the last ten years. And I think a lot of people get wrapped up in the idea of Amazon or some of these big companies going into the grocery business. But they don't really think about these smaller stores that are equally taking away market share. Yeah, absolutely. How does the traffic growth there? Compared to the big guys, like a Walmart and a Kroger. And is there anyone in the middle between like an Aldi and a Kroger, for example, just picking them out of thinner? Yeah. So the traffic patterns into these stores have been really strong in the past year. And we're seeing traffic growth into discount stores versus a much slower growth at the traditional supermarkets and at the discount stores like Walmart and into a certain degree target. In terms of in the middle, it's not really another player that's in the middle. Unless you count someone like a Trader Joe's. They sort of bridge it because the Trader Joe's, it's a little bit more premium on price, but it's still very much private label. And the stores are still much smaller than your typical grocery store. So it would be something similar to Trader Joe's that might be the only thing that's kind of in between an Aldi and a Kroger. The last one Trader Joe's was like a 6 p.m. on a Sunday and I am afraid we're traumatized. You have a great map in your deck that takes a look at the stores that say save a lot, Trader Joe's, a lidl, and Aldi. And it feels like it's really the northeast, the southeast, and it's kind of spreading. Do these discount stores are they moving? Are the discount grocers really going to expand out west? Where they don't really have that much of a presence. Yeah, so interestingly, all the in Trader Joe's are owned by the same company. And so when you combine those two together, it's a little bit more of a national footprint. But Aldi has a very heavy presence through the Midwest and into the northeast and into the southeast. But a lot of their growth has been happening by moving west. And so we expect that to continue because everywhere they open a store, they're getting pretty good solid traffic into those stores because they are competitive. Right now, it seems to still be even early innings for these discount stores. And they can't be ignored as a serious competitor too. The companies that we traditionally follow. Did the stocks reflect this yet? I think that people are kind of aware of it, but because neither Aldi were publicly traded, they're not so much in the consciousness. And so I think that there certainly is a risk to these larger companies. But it is a long-term risk and making sure that they stay competitive. And that they're able to offer the loyalty purchase that they need to do to keep their customers close at hand. Which then also brings me to the last point, which is online shopping. Do the smaller guys or the discount grocers have an online shopping setup, and is that how people are truly going to be buying their groceries, like you mentioned Amazon, et cetera, or is it really just have to be going to the store?

"Online. And so up until the pandemic, the discount grocers, the aldis and the leaders had almost zero online presence. Disney forged a relationship with companies like Instacart to offer some kind of solution for people. But Aldi just recently announced that they're going to actually have their own online platform. And so they're moving into that space that was a competitive advantage for the grocers and the walmarts of the world. And so as they continue to build that out, they're seeking that same type of loyalty in the same type of increase in spending from somebody who is engaging at both visiting the store and visiting online. Really amazing insight, I love it. Thank you so very much. Bloomberg intelligence senior packaged food and retail analyst Jan bartas. Let's turn now to European banks. Let's just exclude credit suites for the time being. They have some idiosyncratic things they're working out. The rest of the year at pain banks are looking at some revenue that's going to be facing an inflation test in the coming year, particularly as we're looking at the ECB that's going to continue to hike rates. For more, we want to welcome Bloomberg intelligence senior banks analyst Philip Richards. Philip, how did these big banks do in the fourth quarter? And what is the consensus outlook here for this year? Yes. Actually, the bank at the moment are doing surprisingly well. In terms of the first of all, mainly on the revenue side. I mean, obviously, the banks have been through a very difficult 5, 6 years in terms of negative rates across Europe, which is a real squeeze on bank margins and therefore their revenues have been really hurt by it. So the whole deposit balance is basically the banks have been losing money. So coming by the middle of last year and weight side rising very sharply, suddenly we had had these huge interest rates and some of these banks are making massive amounts of money that they weren't making previously. So in terms of you look at the numbers to the banks they're solving and we're talking about revenue growth of upgrades about 1710 and 15% for number of these banks and beating estimates and less by similar sort of numbers. What about provisions though at the same time comes setting aside more money for losses, where are they with that? Yes. Again, an example positive here, but there is a cabinet at the end. But it's actually very good because when we had the whole COVID and I'm sorry and the crisis there and the big slowdown that we had, the banks took a huge amount of divisions because they thought were going into big possession. But actually in reality, lots of the European and the global governments go and stepped in and bailed out a number of companies to stop there being a bigger session. So the impact is big banks had loads of build up provisions. So actually when you look at the earnings today and we saw that in the fourth quarter results so far actually the new charges the banks will be making will be actually very low and that's because the able to release some of these visions they made previously. Which bank is set up the best for a mile downturn scenario, for example. Yeah, well, I guess it's the banks, which is best positioned for what we're saying there. So that's also the revenue boost they've had in terms of that big on the top line. But that's because running out now because rates are going to not be increasing much further. So how long was banks and keep that revenue growth going? And at the same time, we're not going to have that big increase in divisions. So it basically depends on where the economic crisis hit. So if, for example, two months ago, we are thinking Germany is going into by far the biggest session across Europe. And therefore, you would expect that. It would be Deutsche or commerce bank would get the increase in bad debt. But that's certainly some swift quite a lot over the last two or three months. And now looking at you most of Europe will avoid a recession. And actually made this over the UK banks might be some of the worst impacted. If we do go into an economic downturn that really does depend on what happens on economy because that's that downturn that's going to hit the impairment. Coming up, we're going to get more on the outlook for European banks with Bloomberg intelligence in your bank analyst, Philip Richards. "See a haves and have nots picture where some people really are cutting back, lots more people are shopping at Aldi and Liddell in the UK, for example. People are switching to own brands, as I said. But some others or maybe people in different moments in their life are still splashing out. And it was interesting. It's just little things, but like you to leave, pointed out that ice creams on the go, they've shoved up prices, and yet it's been hot, people are out. They were no lockdowns anymore. And people are still spending in those kind of areas. I haven't dealt with an ice cream from time to time. There's recent hard weather I will admit. The other big corporate story that we're watching today, Jillian is UBS. Major outflows from their assets and the management. Yeah, I mean, it is pretty much as expected. It sounds like a huge number, $12 billion, as wealthy clients, just with nervous and just pulling their money away from the markets as markets of tanks. Similar pictures Julius Baer yesterday. But it is, as I say, this is what happens eventually these people are going to have to put their money behind something. I thought one interesting line that came out of it was that the UBS did say that compensation pressures have eased and that is interesting, I think we're seeing the sort of demand for bankers and the war for talent and the big uplift in bonuses and pay that we have been seeing is now going in the other direction. So interesting. Yeah, Bloomberg's UK business has a Julian Harris. Thank you very much for taking us through some of those big results stories this morning. This is Bloomberg. Now

"You got going. Miss Jackson, if you're next now. I'm with you. It wasn't the great control. It wasn't the greatest shooting I could take. But at least he didn't get demonstrative, right? It was a bad everything night for Tatum. Hold on. You know, I need to take the last shot here, you know? How about now? No. No. Still don't have you. You might have to leave and come back, but just double check. No good. No good. Technical difficulties with sharad. They may have to leave and they'll be right back. He'll be right back. We got time. We got time. I'll save the good stuff. John, I was going to coach the Tatum thing tonight because again, I know you were hitting the hard all game, but he lost it all went in overtime. The double over time especially the way he possessions down the stretch. I know everyone's going to talk about the call, but you just, there's just no excuse for some of those turnovers to end each portion of the game, the way the Celtics just completely boggled possessions. Yeah. I will try it again. Can you hear me guys now? Yeah, we got here. Here we go. Faces are moving, but we can hear you. No, I see him, though. Okay, good. I was going to mention this. How's that for movement? Look, bottom line, they sucked ass as a team. This was bad. This was a real thing. Oh, I will. Because here's the thing. That's not far to go. This was a bad game. The wizards played in the game. Tired and lizards played the wizards were like, can you guys please win this? And here's the thing. Bailey played the wizards and I don't know why people don't continue to go to this well because it's their mantras is not trying to guard anybody. He's not. And when you made your run, you were creating mismatches where you had Tatum or brown or whoever you want to take a shot, mash up with him. And yet, you kind of went away from that and at first over time, and I don't understand that. He's literally the worst defender on the floor. And you're literally having a night where you're struggling to get shots to go down. Why would you not continue to go at the one guy who you know you're going to get a good shot off against? On a night when you're having trouble making shots as a whole. This was, again, the games like this that makes you wonder, you know, what are they seeing that we're not seeing? What are they thinking that we're not thinking? I don't think it's that complicated. If there's a guy that can't defend, you're having trouble getting shots, go at his ass. That's what you're supposed to do. And you think about from where's your standpoint? They realize that they had more youth and athleticism almost everywhere on the floor. So they try to go out. And at the rim, Aldi did a great job, but when you take him away from the rim, attack him off the dribble, completely different game. Yeah. They never adjust it to the game. They never made the necessary adjustments to attack the mismatches that played heavily in their favor. And that was. It wasn't a great feel for the game from anyone. I'm not gonna hammer email..

"Why did they get zero walks in a playoff game? That was interesting. Against a team with like and I'm not even throwing shade at the Red Sox just an entirely mediocre pitching staff. I understand Nathaniel Aldi, Nathaniel all these great. In many ways, he has that mentality where he could just pop on the mound and be like, yeah, I'm pitching today dude. It doesn't matter the circumstances. Well, yes, that's true. But now he's done it with Boston and he's proven to have that mentality based on his performances in the 2018 postseason and now tonight as Jeff pass and said, he is who Gerrit Cole was supposed to be. For the Yankees, and that's just that's just the way the things that's the way the cookie crumbled for the 80s. If I may, if I may, though, that's why the Red Sox are in my head. Not because they're an astounding team, but just because their fans still act like things don't bounce their way and they're lucky if they get one break a century. But you look at last night's game. And you look at the decisions that were labeled failures that ended up being successes under the brightest lights. Nathan ivaldi pitches well in 2018 and saves the Red Sox bullpen in the World Series run and Dave dembrowski gives him a huge extension. And people go, oh my God, Dave dumb, browse he's so freaking stupid and it can sense us that it's sort of an overpay to keep to reward a World Series hero. And he goes out there in 2019 and gets hurt and everybody goes, what a dumb move. I'm so glad we fired Dave dumbrowski because he overpaid Nathan evolve because everybody's like laser focused on these singular moves. And lo and behold, the volume comes out in 2021, and he's better than Garrett Cole basically all year long and he is the ace that the Red Sox needed last night. Where's Garrett Cole wilts in the similar situation and have all these being paid $240 million less? Then this trade deadline, high bloom goes out and gets Kyle schwarber instead of Anthony Rizzo in response to the Yankees stealing Anthony Rizzo from the Red Sox. Rizzo wanted it being totally fine on the Yankees. Great defense, 110 WRC plus, perfectly above average, good player. Schwarber doesn't even have a position. And he's injured when the Red Sox trade for him. And people go, where is Kyle schwarber gonna go? I don't understand this. What a dumb move. Ridiculous. High in bloom so overconfident. Where's he gonna fit this guy who has 35 home runs at the all star break? Lo and behold, he leads off yesterday, hits a giant bomb off Garrett that ultimately ends up being the impetus to forcing him out of the game. And he's been great over the last month and a half since coming to Boston. So there's another one. Everybody piles on a mistake. And guess what? It worked out. Look like a mistake wasn't a mistake, puts the Red Sox in a position of power. The Red Sox trade Mookie betts. It's the dumbest thing a team has done in 25 years of Major League Baseball. It's embarrassing. It's a white flag. It's saying we don't care about our fan base, and we know our fans are sheep and they'll eat up anything. And they'll eventually rationalize Mookie leaving and claim he never wanted to be here and.

"Back with Alex barth of 98 5, the sports hub, Alex, let's talk about the top two pictures in the Red Sox rotation. They really do have a one two punch now with the return of Chris sale and Nathan of Aldi. He is, you know, of all the obviously has been the ace before sale returned. All season long. And you can even say with Tanner house pitching the way he did on Sunday, you got a good one, two, three. Yeah. Yeah, I'd agree with that. And I think I'm still holding out hope for water Rodriguez too. I'm really a big fan of his, and I think he can turn around a little bit. But yeah, the starting rotation is starting to stabilize and that that's going to go a long way, but the question now, they're pitching better, but how deep can they get into games? Because we're seeing like you look at yesterday, right? I think he threw after a point. 5 and a 30, 5 and a third. So just the way this bullpen is performing right now, and Chris sales and exception to this because you got to make sure he stays healthy and if he can only throw 5 innings, you can only throw 5 minutes. That's just a reality of it. But yeah, you kind of look now all right. Things are getting better in the short term, but you need to start getting 6, 7 innings out of some of these guys. I know it's late in the season. I know nobody threw a ton last year because of the shortened season. But even just for the next week or two, and there's some really big games coming up, which I'm sure we'll get into. Yes. You need to try to shield that bullpen a little bit. You need to try to bury that bull pen a little bit. You need these guys going into the 7th inning to just kind of limit the damage that bull pen can do. But yeah, no, they're pitching better, and that's certainly encouraging, but now I'm looking at and sometimes it's the way you do it. Sometimes when a guy's slumping, you pull them out before you probably realistically should 'cause it's hey, you had 5 good innings. We're gonna give you those 5 good innings we're gonna let you sit on that. Think about that for the next 5 days. And you don't leave them in there long enough to blow up. I actually think that's a good approach to pictures who are struggling. And it seems like that's what the Red Sox did right now, but now it's time to take those rains off. Now it's time to let these guys get deeper into games because the bullpen just doesn't have it. Beginning August 7th, Nathan of valdi, that would be four starts and Chris sales three starts..

It's okay like i just feel like when i want a little bar a snack bar. I wanted to feel less. Like i'm just eating Big pile of sugar and more. I wish there were peanuts in here. Maybe there are. They're not very present. But whatever if you like peanut butter like mike you might like it. It's better than the the tony. The tiger bar. Yeah one hundred percent not a good episode for bars i think. Our savory selections Did really well. So should we Rate rate the items. Let's rate the items Right from the top lisa. We started with earth grown vegan meat free chicken patties in the freezer aisle. I really really really was impressed with these. Giving these an eight point five. Nice next up i like. Actually i think that's a good idea when you review everything. Yeah all right was amakhosi's cauliflower. Crust pizza margherita flavor. I'm going to give that an eight. Which is higher than i thought it would give it. But i'm giving it an eight because it's the stats are pretty good. I like the thickness or thinness of the crossed the price even though we didn't tell you how much it costs. I remember it being very affordable and okay all in urinate all right. How 'bout friendly farms and their non fat greek yogurt with the black cherry on the bottom nine point five i love might get lower if it was pre blended. Yes yeah it would be about an eight point. Five hundred eight all right next. Tried the park street delis home style guacamole singles in those. I'm giving a seven half. I really like them a lot. i wasn't like in love with them. But they're solid all right. How about the park street deli. Pineapple habanero salsa i would have given that an eight but because it does taste like jarred fruit salad. Seven and a half. It was good. It was good and it was. It will be good on your chicken. I mean on your fish and chicken but it gets seven and a half in fairness. It's our fish because you're coming over all right. How about the specially selected cold smokes atlantic salmon. You know. I am giving them ten just because how. I'm giving it a ten. Because i am such a smoke salmon fan and this whole like one portion and the price of it across the board. It just gets attempt. Awesome all right. Tell me how you feel about lovin oven. Fresh kito friendly buns. I am giving those a six personally. Do it's actually you know that's not that bad considering. I don't think you you know really love them. But yeah i think that's a nice their nice. It's fair exactly fair. I think they should feel good about it. All right next up simply nature. White cheddar puffs eight point five. Those are solid. That's a solid puff. Puff was angry tastic. it was delicious then. Our last savory item of the day sims artisan jerky spicy garlic pork turkey. I'm giving this a nine. I love the little bit of sweetness. I love garlic flavor. I love how soft it was. I love the fact that it was pork jerky which makes it a little different i. I'm more impressed with this sims jerky than i was with some of their other flavors and i love the this little piggy spicy messaging have about. I think we're getting into the low rankings. Here kellogg's frosted flakes cereal bars. You know. I expected more from tony. He is. Tony is definitely one of my childhood crushes. He looks cute on the box. I love tony. The tiger love that he wears a bandanna with his name on it. This is a five okay. There's an interesting to. Tony has not aged at all. I mean he's got to be like eighty years old. He's looking good like tigers must cartoon characters. hey cartoon characters don't age look at mickey mouse. Larry the quaker guy. They gave him a makeover. Yeah but i don't know if they because yeah it's not because he was aid but also he's not an animal. He's a human so like adult like animals usually. I don't know they say because they have for covering their faces. You can't see wrinkles. I mean the hunger girl character has never aged. she's still young and just like you. She's a cartoon. All i'm gonna say all right last. But i don't think we st- kind minis chewy peanut butter bars. You know i think for the right person. A lot of people out. There would probably give these nine for me. They're more of a seven and a half. They're they're they're good but they're not amazing But i'm giving them in seven and a half mike. I bet i'm going to give you a chance to win. Would you give these much higher score. Yeah but i'm like you. There's definitely better peanut butter bars and kind makes a better peanut butter bar. The one that has like that chocolate bottom so yeah. I actually go eight and a half. Yeah that's great. That's great for like just a quick bite. You know it's two bites and you're done it's great to bites bites and the hundred calories it's not the stature not bad actually anyway i'd say all this was a pretty successful hall. Wouldn't you say absolutely and you always know when you go to all the there's so many good products so Definitely worth a trip. Pick up a few of these and then some classics. I've got another great idea. What's that we should give away some prizes and you know how we should do it. We should encourage people to share this podcast link in the community or they can do it on their regular pages and just make it public. We can find them and if they share it and they tell us which of these products. They're most excited to try. And they linked to the episode. They'll have a chance to win something special. Oh that's amazing. I think people should totally do that. And what are they gonna win something special a surprise something like a book. Ooh yeah we don't have to tell you. Okay that that sounds great. They can share it and also rolling out very soon if not already happening. Are Aldi Own Brand Goods as Good as the Real Thing?

"To jump in. We are going to start with some of the hot food so they don't get chilly before we try them. First up we have earth grown vegan meat free chicken less patties. So this is all d.'s. Earth grown brand. Which i believe is an brand yes And that is their answer to like the boca. Fried chicken patty. So it's like a chicken list chicken. Patty and i made mine in the air. Fryer where did you make yours. I just put it in a frying pan nice and it was a frying pan that we bought on prime day. We bought like the pots and pans. Set and part of that sentiment. That you you had her in the episode on amazon and it comes with this little tiny like like tiny teeny tiny pan that you can put little burgers on or make little little eggs. It's the coolest thing we should put that whole set on the food cast page. It's a great so let's do it. I'm just chewing up a storm here. i have to say i pulled the patty apart and it looks like shredded chicken inside like i really really like this and what i like. Best about it. The texture is spot on to me. It tastes like chicken a lot of times when you do a chicken nugget or a chicken patty begin. It tastes like stuffing it just slinging bread but this tastes like chicken. It does and i feel like the outside it's really crispy and like it tastes like fried chicken it doesn't taste For the stats at tastes super. Decadent it season nicely. What are the stats. So each patty which is a nice size. One hundred and forty calories five grams of fat nine grams of protein. Three smart points excellent. I would totally eat. Same mike. Add those to the rotation earth grown. Okay next up. We have another all brand. I don't know who this mama cozy is but like every single thing in all the is made by her mama. Cozy makes tons of pizza. This is a cauliflower crust. Margarita pizza that you find in the freezer section so a lot of pizzas are the fridge. Some of our pizzas are in the freezer. This is a big frozen pizza. It looks thin crusted. I kind of burnt my slice lisa. Look at this adorable. Tiny slice might cut for me. That's so cute a little adorable minds. Burnt mine's not crispy is yours a little bit. Yeah i it's been sitting for a little bit. So they're lost crispiness is like the the non saas part. I think the sauce is good. It's a little sweet i think that i like the thin -ness of the cross and it just tastes like cauliflower. A little like not in a bad way. What i mean is it doesn't just tastes like bread. It tastes like there's actually a nice amount of cauliflower and

"Thank god this week. Not jesus christ for his power. I don't know if that's a deliberate shift or sort of a random synonym for the stickies doing anything. He gave a shot up to his wife. Lana for being hot. And then he said you should come after someone like me just thinking you can win. You should only come after me if you know you can survive in then has perked up backstage and got a little angry any thoughts on that and injured john silver getting a title shot for no apparent and giving it away a little on the side. Then just roads in nicaragua made about borough match. Yeah i thought it was a That's pretty good. I don't have a problem with them. Closing it you know midnight with that much. It's on a big match. But i don't think it hurts anything. I don't think you know. People think of the final segment obvious show is like a main event in the conventional sense. 'cause wrestling promotions. Have been you know not doing that for quite a while. Now they hyped it as a native at match but it would have been good. I think to give us a reason. Emotionally invested in our forty five minutes leading up to you know for people stuck around for the whole show. I think more people would have stuck around you. Just give us a microphone. I don't. Because they're staying to show. I mean if there was you know it was cody versus kenny omega. And they didn't get they didn't have it then Yeah but i. I don't think Advertising something that is not a particularly a market brought makes much of a difference. They advertised it. My point isn't that they didn't say that was the match. My point is they didn't tell you why you should care about the match. And wrestling's built around wrestlers talking about. I don't think. "Preview. Take over the main event. We just talked about the bill afford on on the show. Any any thoughts on the likely winner is there more than one. And if so how many certainly i expect there won't be a title change since a five matches a weak way to establish a new champion. I suppose if they wanna move cross up and they want to protect them they do they. That could be an idea here. Have somebody else been somebody else and then cross just leaves. But i tend to think they won't want to do that. They tend to like people to to to lose the title before they go up. And if somebody else wins called us seem the most likely to me. I don't think you want o'reilly to win the title for the first time in the setting. i think If you're going to have o'reilly win the title. You want to build it to a singles match so i think Cross winning make some sense followed by call all right then. Ricco gonzalez cin amber moon for the women's ice said makes so much sense. I just not make the is the most likely scenario and makes more sense or are you are you. Are you distinguishing or just adding distinguishing in the sense. Like not even i m opined on the other one. I just like trying to be clear about what i meant because those are two different things sometimes. Because i'm usually when we're talking about i'm usually just talking about. What would it be most likely to do. But that's not necessarily an advocacy of that. But i think i'd probably on cautious because again trajan the titles the multiple mattresses not effective co gonzalez in number moon for the women's title. It should be a good match and expert controls to retain mercedes martinez ends eilly. Just a match looks looks weaker than most takeover matches but it is a big spot for both one then. I'm sure that they're going to be very motivated. And we'll see how they do. If all goes well camera grabs. Elliot night ladder match for the title. It's important for night that that they have strong match. Because if you can't have a really a lot of matches camel crops it's not a good sign the malino titles reference does seem to have been bought back specifically for grandest gimmick so. It would be odd. If grimes doesn't want then i think we're don't. We're not do the the six man tag with three belts in two championships at stake. Time and one of the things to come down to winter takes winner takes. Yeah as magic. Saddam step but the action should be very strong and I expect and cater when and they haven't had titles for that long and read in particular be selling title so quick. I todd up. Next is last friday nights late night. Dynamite first question is do you make anything of the viewership number this week. Even going down from the prior week although pretty good a bigger than usual jump after three days compared to the wednesday shows which sort of indicates not everyone is a dvr night. Everyone's gonna catch up on it but more than usual watched it on delay after three days than when it airs on wednesday but still quite a bit short of the normal wednesday viewership. Yeah you pretty much outline that there. I mean the numbers are not encouraging given that they've got a friday night show coming up and the numbers aren't particularly strong relative to their what they do on wednesdays but you know as you mentioned. It's clearly a case of people that are still into the product but they don't wanna watch it live on a friday and so they're watching it for the most part a few days later and that's you know sub optimal. Because you know you try to. You can get better at rates if you have higher people watching live. 'cause the assumption is. They're watching ads so it's not. It's not optimal but you know it what it is and in fi- ten pm. I don't think that's exactly like you're you're superstar time slot for pretty much anybody on television. So you try to make del. Yeah all right so they opened with young bucks against park in television shows like when they debut show at like ten pm alert like they've got no faith whatever that says for the most part. Yeah yeah so. They opened with a pocket. Pet against the bucks your thoughts on that time. Thought it was a good match There's there's been an increase in criticism about the amount of interference and awa matches. And i think that's valid concern I definitely don't think you want to go cold. Turkey like advocated with the various forms of non finishes. But they do a lot of interference. And i do think it would be better if they did of us frequently but that's not this much typically well it is. What's not only this match. So it's sort of like i think a consideration in the pot in general and then they shot the The afterwards to up the idea of that. It concern reluctantly joining forces with triangle. I'm workday to get at the box. So it's good then we andrade debut with marquette coming out with tony shivani and then back to grow screeching. Excuse me followed by the sentence a few weeks ago. Then we had brought with mark henry in a screeching ricky guerrero. What's happening totally. And how does the reaction on fridays. Well so i on mark henry. I was very surprised by mark. Henry's response to the question wrestling again. Because he all but said yes and definitely gonna be wrestling. I wanna russell a lot. You know like the way he answered it. And i would have thought that he would have downplayed it more. If only to make it feel more special any eventually does so i. I found that interesting..

The ALDI Food Taste Test

"Did find a lot of other things that we're trying today from our friends at all the and i up today is a park street deli hawaiian style chicken in the fridge section. So park street deli is their in house brand. They do a lot of prepared. Foods are usually really good. So this is a grilled boneless skinless chicken thigh meat situation in teriyaki sauce with pineapple. That sounds perfectly. Hawaiian looks great. It's funny i. I think i don't like change. Tie me. But i think that also could just be because i was raised in like a diet household and told that like he is better than dark meat. Maybe a really do like it yeah. Chicken thighs don't like the sound of it. I don't want. I know that i'm eating chickens by but it is. I like all chicken. Wait this tastes exactly like something. We tried once before. Maybe we did. I think at a school hall. Hawaiian chicken thigh foam another brand. I can't remember the name. This is great outrageous. Whoever told me chicken thigh meat is not good mom. I have a person. I have a chicken bows at nick with your mom. I was gonna say it's the person who wanted all the time. Yeah exactly that's amazing. It's so perfectly sweet. The teriyaki is not i mean. It's very sweet but in a good way and there's chunks of pineapple wow what are the stats like jamie. It's the stats are great five ounces. Did this come cooked or uncooked. Cooked so five ounces. One hundred and eighty calories three grams of fat twenty grams of protein. It says six smart points. That's like wild. I would add that to my rotation immediately that seems impossibly low to me. I'm going to hope for the leave. It how many i mean. How many calories per ounce chicken. I mean it seems about right for chicken breast. I thought five meet was heavier. But skinless and i feel like that's where a lot of the and then what about all the It's pretty saucy in sweet. It's so yummy.

La Burgondie Brut Ros

"David Fromm. Cheap. Line. FINDER DOT COM. Coming at you with another wine review, we put on the cheap one finder dot website. And today it's a trader Joe's wine which to a lot of. It's the love burgundies. TREMONT DEBRAH goal. OC. Brute rose, Zach. Nine, hundred, nine. Import Bubbly. That's actually really really good. And It's a criminal chroma. is a sparkling wine from France. Isn't. From. Champagne. Champagne can be a grandma just means sparkling wine basically. But there brandon Sir you don't think of them as chromite you think of them as champagne. So everything else is a criminal and this is from Burgundy. And if you're not really up on. That part of the country. or The world I guess. The bottom part of Burgundy's this is of in northern eastern France. Is bourgeois. And the northern part is champagne and middle is the Burgundy region. and. It's home of some of the best new iron. Chardonnay in the world I mean it just that's that's ground zero for Pinot Noir Chardonnay. And they make. Like champagne does just a little bit to the north. They make bubbly to and a half may bubbly for a long long time. And this love ninety nine bubbly is made by. A group of farmers and four hundred, fifty different farmers in the region off with their grapes together and they make three and a half million bottles year. If, you want the name, it's on the. Website www cheap wine fighter dot com. It's French. Damn. I can't remember American names remember French names. But they're legit. You don't know who these who makes the winds were trader Joe's. But they're actually good in it at love. Ninety nine. This is good. Trader Joe's is a lot of buying power ninety nine. It is typically a lot less than what A. parable wine and a retail shop with being. One of the reasons is that all the in Europe are trader Joe's in. Europe is all ignored there's all ignored all these stuff. The all the United States is all these south and. Trader Joe's Aldi north, but they have a worldwide reach it almost wine shops are in a city or maybe a stay. Supermarkets can go. A long way they can be many states but they don't normally. Push. Their own brand of line. They don't really have that going for the most part like trader. Joe's does with are known for their wines and they're known for their value price twice. So this eleven ninety, nine criminal from Burgundy. And it's made in the same way. Champagne is. Made. With Pinot noir grapes. Champagne either either and or. Chardonnay. Pinot Noir Pinot Monet. Grapes are. Similar If anything the Pinot Noir. Grapes. In. Burgundy are better regarded than the ones up north. So. This love and ninety nine grandma. Mike be seriously underpriced. Mean when people pay big money for French. Champagne. Do you know? Everybody. Else's you know trying to get with. What's leftover because if you're going to spend thirty Bucks Forty Bucks Fifty Bucks One, hundred, twenty bucks you're buying champagne. If you only have ten twenty, you might look at a criminal. So that's what you know. But that doesn't mean it's the quality is not there. It's not equally good if not exactly the same because it doesn't exactly the same. But this is good Melissa delicate, it's balanced. It's got. Very controlled flavors. This is a one everything is where it's hopes to be. You know it's Often cheap bubbles are fun and delicious. Raw Love the place and they're. The last drink this one is kind of sophisticated and refined to I'm thinking because I got a glass of bubbles man.

30 Miles Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

"I. It's. From she wind binder DOT com. We have another wine review. This one's little different in kind of the same same time. It's from all. Three dollars and seventy five cents is fourteen, ninety nine. It's a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. THIRTY MILES NAPA Cabernet Sauvignon twenty-seven teen. Shot. I don't know about fifteen dollars for an all. Usually for a storebrand, they have some advantages in pricing. So a seven, nine nine. storebrand trader Joe's. Grocery store. No matter. Is probably equivalent to attend a twelve dollar one. And a regular basis just because there's no, there's no marketing there's no advertising. You know there's a lot less distribution costs. There's just those costs and the difference between a legitimate. Eight dollar wine and. Then twelve dollar one is usually significant. There's usually more. Wine production techniques taking place. You know the really inexpensive wines, they very simple productions it styles dot good and bad. But you like a little bit more involved production techniques, slow up extra money there for that, and you can get that at a lower price with storebrand. But a fifteen dollar naphtha cab. I expect a fifteen dollar. Any fifteen dollars ready to be pretty good. And the difference too in a fifty dollars to Cabraha. Twenty. Isn't all that much it's usually marketing. It's usually. More well-known winery. You know. Better better av a little higher status in a it's usually. This wine that much better. Sometimes, it's that much better but the fact. that. So little has it here to buy a fourteen, ninety nine. All, these Cabernet Sauvignon. Because what was actually? kind of bargain is, is it a Barton? Actually. It's a good wine I've been drinking. But the economics are cheap wine change go to fifteen bucks but here's the one thing the solar for me. All these nine, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, nine, champagne last year was one of the best wines I hadn't twenty nineteen and every sparkling wine had Susan I've got an answer to that and it's I haven't had a lot of. The website I love it bad some wines but none of them came close to that so far. So taking a chance on all be one. Hasn't been that much of a chance and this is really good. It's. Intense. It's got good flavor. Well, balanced nice wine. If you just want WanNa fifteen dollar one that I don't know it's actually a twenty one or twenty, three dollar one only perfect fifteen. All these polls, the trademark took their their brand names. You can tell trader Joe's wine to make support them which helps a little bit by going on the National Trade trademark registry. Will come. Lose the gadoe trademarks. You'll how if a whole nother story? But you gotTa know what direction that one came from. With all the owning the trademark. You don't nothing. But that means they also can. If the economics of the original deal change, they can go out and. Get a new producer. Whatever happens there they can still change. Even though I think was released twenty nineteen. Sit around while my all didn't have until recently. It's been around. There is there is A. Cabernet Sauvignon Glut Napa and Sonoma. Stuff. They had bumper crops for couple years in a row. And then Calvin nineteen pretty much shut down all the restaurants which are exactly where they were selling a great deal I. N. Cabernet, Sauvignon. And then big to do gatherings shutdown. People who are buying wine are not having people over that they don't know where they've been. So there's A. Glut been exasperated by what's going on. You'RE GONNA start seeing Cabernet Sauvignon. Selling. Cheap cheap earth GonNa see brand you've never heard before. And then they'll go away in two years come out because they can't just hold off the stuff backing here you're stacking up next year is release.

"Today we are jumping in there's another episode that is a hall episode. So today's the Aldy Hall. GonNa make the joke, the hall yeah. I know I always make the joke it's I. Think I'm over the joke. Brought it back. I love all the all the is actually a new discovery for me, and now I describe it as like a less expensive trader Joe's. Isn't that kind of what it's like pretty much which is crazy because trader Joe's is already inexpensive. Like yeah. It's like the dollar store trader joes well, I. Mean the last time I said it was like smartandfinal meets the dollar store and some people got upset about that comparison. But like I love the dollar store and by the way, people need to know that the food that you get at the dollar store is not older expired in some cases it's a lot of big brands that are specifically making foods for the dollar store. So I don't know that but I a big fan of the dollar store. So I take that as a compliment if somebody would say that anyway, that's just me. But today we are going through a whole bunch of products I went to all the last week. I purchased don't know like nine hundred item. So. A lot of the stuff that I bought were holding off in a few more weeks. We'll do it all the hall I'm GonNa. Go back to all the fill it out. But I, I mean I literally got like fifteen things and we're going to try one, seven, eight, eight of them today. It's going to be tough for me to not eat that one thing that's in the bag that we're gonNA wait on because it just I can I look at it every day and I wanna eat it I'm guessing it's peanut butter flavored Jamie please hide this from him. It'd be having other PB item today. It's a little bit of a weird. I am I'm actually really excited with that one. So I'm excited about everything today zero. All right. So before we jump in and start eating everything in sight Mike, what you got. Are you ready for your new favourite fall drink? Viva Seltzer has just come out with a new flavor. Do you WANNA guess. So it's fall themed. So the is it the I think it's V. visit. Oh, it's. I don't know. Could. Use this Jamie what does it looks like the va I don't know. Whatever you want to her five. The new flavor is pumpkin spice. So it's a hard seltzer pumpkin spice flavors. It looks like right now it's only being sold at Kroger Stores and Kentucky Tennessee and Ohio. But I'm sure we'll go nationwide wouldn't go nationwide. By, the way I don't know if you know this but the vive or. Whatever it's called their heart seltzer drinks or one hundred calories and two grams of carbs. Yeah. That's not bad except the only bad part of that is hard. Seltzer Gross. That's my. I don't I am not a fan and the the idea of like a pumpkin spice flavor that sounds terrible to me. Might be harsh right now no I feel like the only excuse for a pumpkin spice flavored cocktail as if it's like a frozen sweet. Type of like creating. Yes. Creamy. So the article that I that I read this from, they got a taste of it and they said it's amazing like it's and they thought the same thing like it would be terrible and they loved it so. I will give it a try I'm GONNA give it the benefit of. And a our little community of Woodland Hills is in the news like big time in the news Amazon fresh. The one that we have that we've been getting our deliveries from there finally, opening it up to walk in customers. It's the first in the country like no other Amazon, fresh stores allowing customers walk inside except for ours right now. And it's by appointment only I guess you have to go on and make an appointment. And, the store does have cashiers but they they encourage you to use their dash cart our showing Jamie this the other day. So it's a cart with a screen on it and every time you pick up an item, you scan the item on the car and then charges you on your Amazon Account. So I'm imagining it to punch in your code or something when you get get the cart. And I'm not, GonNa go to any stores as of it on my comfortable yet. But I don't know might be something you might WanNa check out judgy when you say You might want to go into a store. That sounds cool. I. The thing I know about Amazon fresh is that whenever I order anything, there's like for every item, there's like eighty eight pieces of packaging. It's like they wrap everything in plastic and in cooler bag, and then in a brown bag and then box. But maybe if you go to the store, you won't get all the packaging but I'm excited actually so I will check it out

The Aldi Haul Episode

"Hey everyone, it's me Lisa. Lillian also known as hungry girl. It's good to be here for another episode of the Hungry Girl Podcast Aka to the right thing today I am very excited because we are doing another hall I love. I'm getting used to these halls where I I go shopping and then I drop things at your house guys, do you? Do you love it? It's the best you're better than INSTA- cart because you actually come up with things that we didn't even know we wanted. I'm better than INSTA- cart because I don't try to replace whole wheat flour with cocoa puffs, which is what they? Feel bad, though this is like instant art, we're not tipping her. Yeah and O F Y I paid for everything. So then there's also. Today this week I went to all D. do you say all your algae? I say aldy all. He's doing a halfway thing all it also works out better, because then it's a hall. Aldy Hall Haldi your exactly. That is what we are doing today. It's all the hall. And I had never actually set foot in an all deep before last week. When I went shopping, and it was interesting, it's like I had heard about it. I know it's like a sister store to trader Joe's I did not know what to expect. I know Mikey. You warned me you said. Bring a quarter which I. Forgot to do so I had to. Find a way to get a quarter to get a card because you need to like, give a quarter deposit to get a cart, and I think a lot of the people were confused because they were like. Do I have to pay for a car? And then the woman that worked there was like yes, but I was like. No, you get it back I was butting in anyway. The store itself was interesting. It's like a smart and final meets like a dollar tree. Is that a? Is that a fair assessment? It is, but I feel like well. Certain file has good. I mean the quality's just exceptional of why smartandfinal. No of the products that all D. O. Dollar Tree? I don't think I've high value well I. Mean I don't think high quality. Okay I think that may be a misperception, because like a lot of the stuff at the dollar store believe or not there like all of your favorite companies make specific products that are dollar store versions of that product. I understand you're saying it's. Option. But you know what made to me. All feel a little cheap and I'm going to say this. It's like when you go to trader Joe's. You feel like there are magical trader, Joe's ferries, making your magical traderjoes in all the concoctions, and all their cute names, and at all de everything looks like the brand you think it is, and it's just slightly off like one of the problems we have today. It's fiber now. Instead of five one show like fiber one brand new. Walk down the aisles and you're like wait. Is that no those race? Christie no and everything looks almost a little like it. which to me makes it feel cheap well. Yeah, I know what you mean like. That's specialness of trader. Joe's like the innovators in creating, and this is just kind of like. They had someone draw something from memory and put it on the box. Yes, but that being said I do I agree I think the quality of. Of the stuff at least the last time we tried, it was phenomenal. I have very high hopes for a lot of these products. When I was shopping I, was searching for things that people told US existed at all that I should find I didn't find many of those, but I found a lot of other things that I thought were intriguing in their own right for specific reasons like we. We'll get into it and I'm excited about that, but. Before we do. What are you have Mike any news. This is pretty cool. Duncan is selling donut inspired facemasks. Okay, so three dollars of every facemask is going to go to a charity to help support health and Hungary leave for children and underserved communities, the master, only ten bucks each, and so three of that goes to charity. I sent you a picture lease. I don't know if you saw them, but the pretty cool looking. And can also share a of them on the page or and the link to buy them where you can go to shop Dunkin Dot Com. Yeah, they're really cute. They're so cute like they're the pink and Orange Dunkin colors, and they look like half doughnuts with sprinkles I think they're adorable. They just need a little slit in the middle, so you could actually eat your doughnut while wearing the math. If you're interested in these act fast because there are four different prints and one of them's already sold out. And, actually the the least exciting one the logo. Yeah Yeah I don't want that can donis employ. Dunkin donuts employees about those probably. Ones with the with the half donuts on them or the sprinkles.

"Welcome to the functional tennis podcast. Great to have you on the show. I've been following some of your work to your instagram account the SP tennis which has been great. You have a lot of great videos with your player Steph. Notre value jet great insight so good work on the videos. Thank you thank you rush. How long have you been working with? Steph no yeah now. He's almost three us that we stuck together when we start together was under folding war. Right now is. At and the seventy four soy than is good work yes going with the rankings. Going in the right direction that's great. There's so many Italian players now like of all ages doing really well. What makes Italian tennis player? So special today you know when when when fairies start to play well pay stock to believe more they are trying more and I think it's also surreal Neatly in the last ten years there are lots of challenges of the future so the young player can play a lot of comment. And don't talk too much so that's really important. That makes a huge difference just having tournament on your doorstep and the cost a pretty low. Yeah yeah that's important. You know when a young player as to travel a lot. A lot of expense soy's School to have a lot of tournaments. You can go by car anoc of time. So it's it's good. It's good to have a lot of tournaments in our country and our Muslim Clay-court. Yes mostly on clay cool by the Easter also. On awkward there is future Lange asking care have five six challenger on our court and I think are on future Soit. Okay tell me used to be that hundred sixteen the world. Three hundred so it was good works together great and just come back before you start working with him so we just mentioned briefly. Italian Tennessee student so well but apart from all the challenges that run initially every week every two weeks is a futures on all the time. What else has changed and Italian structure from the time? When you play tha now. I feel like I was coaching Michael Owen when they reached the semi final in various sets. And the think diesel Morris The Star of other player. They start to believe because Marco was was not so young was twenty five and this time and it was bad that they were trying a lot to get on the top under saw being challenged our soul the other player stuff to believe that they also can make this result and another feeing each that a lot of ex player that start to coach before when I was playing when it was playing. The EX-PM was just making a clip. Coaching all made promise zone than just this work. And now a lot of a Other player like an awfully cheap oil Francesco. Aldi very By that these teeny day are making a damn making professor coach in this one. I think the change. I'm not from the player. The money must be better in coaching. Then that's what that means for sure with a price money price. Monday is getting much much so that the player can make more investments on his stuff. You mentioned earlier before we start to call your from the AD excited to coast in Italy. You REMEMBER PESCA. Solido lost yes. He was from decide where my family's from the frozen on a side. Yeah Restaurant yes he does. He still play. He doesn't play. Does he still coach? What's he up to ask coach? Shell for for the racial. The Legacy of Joe Coulombe - The Founder of Trader Joe's

"You heard the sad news last week. The joke who had died at the age of eighty nine. Who that you say? We'll Cologne founded trader. Joe's The neighborhood. Grocery chain that Trans for millions of people shoppers and employees alike into cult-like fans the impact of his markets has been so significant that the Washington Post called Colom a cultural icon. There's no trader Joe's near you will let step back for just a second and I'll tell you the story. It was nineteen sixty seven joke loan than thirty seven years old had built a chain of eighteen convenience stores in California when gigantic seven eleven came along and he realized he couldn't compete according to the New York Times. He had to find something else to do or one day. Colom read that sixty percent of young people who qualified to go to college. Were going thank you? Gi Bill He also read that. Boeing was building a plane. The seven thirty seven. That would give more people the opportunity to travel overseas. He assumed more international travel would make Americans pallets more adventurous. The New York Times reported the idea for trader Joe's store with fresh produce sophisticated flavors and good wine at an affordable price was born. He opened the first one in Pasadena. California that year famously. Colom conceived of Trader Joe's store for the over educated and underpaid historic would serve budding foodies. Who wanted something more than they could get it a typical supermarket but who couldn't pay a fortune for it and something more was what he built. The Aldi Haul Episode: January Edition

"All right now? This is the hall but their brother. It'd be their brothers store. Career Joe's has just announced their version of plant based Burger. They're calling them protein patties and the box. It looks pretty much like the beyond Burger packaging like the almost exactly the same just with with their own name on it It comes What has eighteen grams of protein made from a blend of protein sunflower oil beats and seasonings and for the package which which comes with two? It's a four dollars and forty nine cents which I believe is significantly cheaper than beyond so I thought why don't we try them. So I went to trader Joe's to go get them and and I did not come back with them. The stats are crazy. High Two hundred ninety calories a patty and twenty grams of fat. That is very high. Weren't aren't they calling them. Protein patties. It should be called Fatty Pettis. No seriously I have to say like I. I would have tried them so I think we should try them. But I don't understand. Like I am a big proponent of plant based Patties I've been eating the Boca patties and the Morningstar patties forever and I thought they were amazing. Doing what I love the most about the original Boca patties. They were seventy sometimes eighty calories. They tasted a lot like burger. There were very low in fat. All all of these new patties are there just loaded with fat and a lot of them with saturated fats. And I don't quite understand why I think they just trying to add so so much fat and flavor and intern calories. They're just trying to fool people into thinking. This tastes as rich as full. Fat Fatty Fat. Now they call them like the bleeding patties. Is there supposed to be like juicy like real burgers. How many calories are in our normal hamburger probably around the same as a lot of these impossible burgers depending on how thick the Patty is? But they're pretty thin. Kim I mean if you go to a restaurant with a big thick burger your pet. He's going to have a lot more but these are not gigantic patty so I would say typically I. I'd be shocked if there was more than three hundred calories and twenty grams of fat in a thin Burger. I honestly think less because think about it even regular ground beef. What to fifty to sixty four ounce portion Kevin probably yeah? I don't know it's upsetting but we'll try. You've ruined everything. Mike Saving the day by not making your try it and now you want it thank you. You're very thoughtful and I know that if there was peanut butter involved in some way we'd be eating those patties right. I found out that it's not today that this podcast airing today that we're recording it. National Peanut Butter Day. What wow law? I hope we get to celebrate Pyotr. You can have more all right. We're GONNA jump into the Aldy Hall. We love all the all. The is a sister store to trader. Joe's I don't know if you have an all near you. I feel like it's even more inexpensive offensive than trader. Joe's there are some fun cool things. What are some of those dickey things? I don't get to go to all these as much as So everything that they have. That's it's their own brand. Looks like the real stuff. So like frosted flakes looks like frost. The other version looks like frosted flakes are. I'm trying to think of some of the healthiest like their their protein. Eighteen bars mirrors and what about checkout again. There's something crazy right so checkout you you have to bag your own groceries. Jamie thought it was kind of funny. Aw I thought it was weird. Because she's putting everything into our cart and I'm thinking if I just open a bag and put it in the car. She's doing the same amount of work. Oh she won't put it in the now we have to take Out of a cheese but she picked up each item and put it in our card so I just wanted to be like. Here's a bag of weight. And so so wait. She won't let you just take it has to. I put it in the car and then you have to go to. Mike said No. You have to go to the bagging station and I think it's efficiency because there are things that go through that line really fast. So I think it's an efficiency thing was inefficient. Whatever it is? They're able to sell things very inexpensively. Mike actually has received today so he may rattle off just how inexpensive some of these finds are truth be told I had nothing to do with picking these products out. They were brought to me. I am being surprised with all all of them sometimes and fake it. I'm sorry like a lot of more new but some of the things we have to talk about this so we did a good job. I hope you did
