"Top two and rookie of the year voting kind of regardless of when they were called up and Harris was called up in May, I believe they get a full year's worth of service time in recognition of their rookie of the year contributions. And Dan's award estimator model. He just has all these great little tools, right? Gives Harris an 85% chance of finishing in the top two. We also talked last time about how it seems like it might be him and strider like those are kind of the guys who are going to be shaking out to the top of that race. And so if he does that, he will hit free agency or your earlier than he would have just based on his service time from this year. And so with all of that, zips estimated that the braids would have to and here I'm quoting shell out approximately $41 million over Harris's 6 cost controlled seasons and then 57.5 million for two years of free agency totaling 98, and then if you think he's going to finish in the top two for rookie of the year voting this year, that brings the systems estimate up to a 123 million. So if you kind of split the difference rate, allowing for the possibility that he doesn't finish in the top two for rookie of the year, but also noting what he would get regardless. Dan had that sort of a 120 million over 8 years. So that's obviously more than what he's going to get under the terms of his current contract both in dollar amounts in a shorter amount of time than he would realize over the course of this, but it's not egregious, right? And I think we do this thing where like Ozzy albie's extension is the worst possible outcome for these sort of either pre debut or early career extensions, certainly pre arbitration extensions where I'll be signed a 7 year $35 million deal and it has two very friendly team options and we all look at that and are like, maybe your agent should not be able to be an agent anymore, right? Like it feels like a tremendous underpay, even when you factor in the recent injury and some of the performance that has been up and down. Ozzy albie should be making more money than he is. And so I think that there's this instinct to sort of comp every extension to that. And that's like a useful downside scenario, but you know, it doesn't have to be albie's to be an underpay and maybe a gross one, but I don't think we're thinking of Harris's deal with sort of falling into that area because there is still limited track record. He has some approach concerns. So this is definitely a team friendly extension, but not one where we have to try to run his agent out of town, I think, is where Dan landed. And I think that that's a reasonable thing to say. Although I will continue to remind people, you can

"So I think the strikeouts are key to the accomplishment. Also a couple of responses to our discussion of Ozzy albie's in his strange foot fracture on a swing the other day, Jack notes, I thought it was interesting that this isn't the first time Ozzy has fractured something while taking a swing in September of 2016. He suffered an olecranon fracture in his right elbow during a double-A playoff game. That's the point de bone in your elbow, I believe. He even required surgery to fix it. I think this was maybe even brought up in a few places as a possible reason he signed the contract that he did with some speculation that maybe he was overly cautious about freak injuries and took an early low offer to get something done quickly. I wouldn't blame him if that's the case because it's got to be scary to swing if you're Ozzy albies now and you're breaking elbows and feet on what seemed like fairly routine swings. I'll link to a video of that elbow break as well. He fouled a pitch off. He inside out at a swing, somehow broke his elbow. Scary stuff, the worst is when a pitcher breaks his elbow throwing a pitch, but I understand that a bit more just considering the stresses that your arm is subjected to to wonder they don't break their arms more often, and kyla wrote in to say I once fractured my foot while dancing around my living room, I had just turned 21 when this happened young and spry, I wasn't even engaging in high level athletics, enjoy walking, I will, kyla, thanks for that thought. She actually fractured her heel, didn't need crutches or a Caster or anything, but she says it was a bizarre way to injure herself. The human body, indeed. And two responses from Mike, we did a pedantic question and answer about the baseball diamond and whether it actually is a diamond shape, we discussed it being a bit of a misnomer. It's sort of a square. It's a subject of some pedantic controversy. Well, Mike notes isn't the layout of the four bases still a baseball diamond as we learned earlier this year, second base isn't centered. It's slightly farther from home plate than we'd expect. That's right. We talked about that. So there are two very slight obtuse angles on the baseball diamond and a very slight acute angle. I guess that's right. Maybe that does kind of technically make it a diamond listener Zack says if you were going to be extremely precise you would call it a baseball kite, but this is not one to be pedantic about in Zack's opinion or in mind. And lastly, that same mic writes in in response to the car shield discussion to send us a commercial that aired during twins games on the radio last year and attempt to break the all time record in baseball puns in an ad read..

It means a lot, not many teams have done that before and be one of them and it's huge and we were really happy with the result, but we still have more important games ahead. Lightning avalanche begins on Wednesday. Baseball and the braves won their tenth in a row with an 8 run 7th to beat the pirates ten four. Gary McKinley was there. After dansby Swanson drove him three runs with a bloop single, the braves again loaded the bases and this time Ozzy albie sent one over the right field wall to give Atlanta their biggest inning of the year. Albie said winning has been a team effort. Pitching in the defense and hitting, you gotta just keep going and never give up and you know we keep our focus and our energy height to win games. The Giants were three two winners in the return of Los Angeles, pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Aaron judge belted two of the yanks 6 solo homers off Matt swarmer. I'm a sucker for a good rally and a nice, you know, double in the gap with runners and scoring the position, but 6 solo shots with one single looks looks pretty nice too. Other AL winners were the twins and rangers, along with the angels Orioles a's tigers and Mariners. Modale won the Belmont stakes ahead of nest and Skippy longstocking. Honestly, he went further than I was even he's the one who said braided our fate of fate as braided our timelines together to me. I know. That's just. Before moving in to gather, he said that? Yeah. And then what was the top like once he got the egg? Yeah, so it was kind of like I was a bit dodgy about the egg for a bit and he kind of like caught me and I thought it was like about me and then eventually I was like well have you now? I don't need the egg and as soon as he got the egg is girlfriend came back into the picture as well. This guy can duck off. Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. He was an asshole, wasn't he? Yeah. Not okay. Yeah. In the least. Yeah, yeah. Fuck him. It was fantastic. Okay, well, you know, hold on to that. It's not all bad. There you go. Okay, okay. So yeah, so that's everything. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. It's just we will work friends. And then when I saw the eggs, I was like, maybe I should fucking tell them because now the dragon elves are up in this and then I hesitated agitated. No, we weren't we weren't headband buds yet. Yeah. Yeah, I'm wondering, I know that launchpad is kind of extreme chaos at the moment, but would there be like a magical animals study division at launch pad? There would definitely be magical studies that would also be stuff about the feywild, certainly. I'm just wondering if I would have taken a class or if albie would have taken a class with someone who might have a little more information. Oh yeah, we could definitely run this by albie. Yeah. You guys can bring it up to Alvin. I'll have him do a role. I'll say he's unlikely to know. I'll set it at a high D.C., but you guys can ask him. I will say that if you had access to a library as old as the launch pads, unless it was heavily censored or something like that, then you might be able to find info on it. I'm going to write on a piece of toilet paper. And it's all looking over his shoulder. Albin. I'm sorry..

You guys look around the room. You see that you guys keep getting stunned, you guys keep fighting each other. You guys are like, you know what? All we came here for krug and he's right. Let's get career going to get us. This is been a shit show. Draws a draw saw. Joss. Saul's visage appears and it is a beautiful horned helmet, much like calders. Wow. And you see that the thoughts just like bounce off of it like bullets. Then lizard's gonna use his movement to just move 30 feet down the hall, runs away. The rest of you guys think this is fine. Calder. Reasonable. You think it is your turn, but you think this is normal, you see krug and a strap down. I go to crew. You go over to crew again, you start on strapping him, saw that is your turn. You see lies are getting away. Okay. Is Alvin? What's album's status? Alvin is the same thing. We should just unstrap him and get out of here. It's also good. Can I use a bonus action flurry of blows to give them all a smack before I run after lizer? They are under mass suggestion. Okay, all right. So it's up to you. "I had like three goals, so. That's no joke. And the enchanter. Chanters are pretty solid team with a good defense. So. You know, I think it's gonna look pretty good if I try to go bro. It's like they're saying it telepathically, but I'm still worried about the vocal cords. Does that make sense? And you do hear that this liquidity player is kind of like bragging and goes, yeah, I'm sure my stick will be hanging on the wall of fame and the equipment room. Maybe I'll take you guys to check it out later. Only the liquidity players are allowed in the inquisitor hall after hours. Okay, so we need to go undercover as liquidity players. Really? I think. Okay, so you're saying we need to beat up some kids and steal their equipment. There are 20. And we don't even need to beat them up. I guess we could, though. We could also go into a cover as the quidditch fans and ask them to show us the office. Yeah. That is so good. Okay. We want our gear signed. Does anyone have a way to knock people out? Knock people out? Yeah, like a poison or something. Stunning stress. Actually do have charm person. Albie, you're gonna turn on the albi charm. Are you gonna bring your a game again? I potentially could. You see, he winks, and as he leans down, his huge balls spot. It's visible. It's not turned on yet. This is, this is me. Should we try and charm one of the look? What did players? I kind of like maybe we just maybe we just pretend to be, I like cows idea. We just, I'm like, super fans. We're like, oh my God, can we please see your stick? And we say it flirtatiously and see if that will get us inside. And then maybe just that one we could maybe put them right, maybe we want to see the locker room, or is it the equipment room at the lockdown? Yeah, there's like an equipment slash locker room. Okay, yeah. Can I do a perception check to see if I can read this guy's name on his Jersey? Yeah. It's a 14. 14. This dude is a mind flayer, so the name on the back is incomprehensible to human eyes. But yeah, you see just like a black hole on the back of the keyboard. But you hear the perfect pitch of an adoring crowd screaming for them as you look in. So their name just represents the idea of a perfect pitch of just of just cheering..

Status, missing, possibly dead. That's not gonna be good for my Rex. A scrape, though. If we can turn the possibly into a definitely. That's right. Should I get albie to take over my LinkedIn and say that he's very sad to announce that I'm dead? He really has to be making toilet paper. This is more mothership the day of the base. I just made it look like LinkedIn to become the funny. We can actually do anything with it. Yeah. But anyway, seeing as you are not dead, and they are not missing because I have found you. I think we might be on the same side. You must have jailbroken, your monotones, otherwise they might know where you are. Yeah. We did. We have a very powerful adult boy with it. Indeed. What is that? Oh. The best. An adult boy wizard. Yes. So in adult wizard. A man wizard. The boy is very much a part of his identity. You really got to see him for it to sink in. How he is an adult boy. Interesting. Balding but still with pluck. What can I do for you? Tell us about the side that we might be on. Oh, well. You see, there's a little glint in her eye and she goes, I'm.

"Something you can stop box, but be kind. Sketchy. Yeah, they love singing that. All right. Well, that's where I know I don't do as much business with mob goblin as I do others. But if you talk to dark, you say you're in with me, you may be dye your armor or something, so you're not wearing the esri blue, and you can get in with them, meet up with my goblin and find out who she was selling. Okay, everyone come to me. Great. Bring me your armor, your blue armor, and I'm just gonna use all my watering Ness to just rust over. Oh, rad. You make it like a copper color. It's like orange. That's awesome. Complimentary color to my beard. That's problem solved. All right, I think we need to borrow the scooter again. Oh, are you gonna take my scooter again? It's fine. It's in great shape. All right, I guess you gave me a mage, but like I said, I walked in there and I was trying to offer him something. He was just looking at toilet paper. You gotta let him get through that role and then he will be good to go. We gave you a lifetime supply of toilet paper. All right, good. High quality stuff. You see, after a bit album comes out, I've done it. You've done it, Alvin. Four hours of concentrating on the toilet paper roll. Incredible. I'm I'll give you this one. And then the toilet paper roll that I have here. Whenever you write something on it, I will see it on my toilet paper roll. And vice versa. I'll be, I just thought of a really good side project for you. What? A paper towel. That's good. That's real. Do you think I'm ready to move on? Well, you might be, but the boy was in the adventure of the paper towels. We promised we promised krug and you do another roll of toilet paper frame. Oh. Yeah, actually I can use one of you got sent in messages back and forth that could be really good on the slide. All right, so then and actually if you're gonna do that, we should probably get all the churches that are in on this. Probably if you could make me 6 or 7 of those. All right, so that'll take me about four hours on each side. Okay, so. But I'll be here doing it for yourself. Right. About like what's your next thing is gonna be? I know what you're like. It's still the total. For now. Just to toilet paper. But I want to hear what you got cooking. Okay, well this is the sister roll to my roll. So you just let me know. Roll respondents, of course. If you need anything for me and I will be making some toilet paper for father. Now, right? Oh, that's really good. That's right. The boy wizard and his toilet paper. Got bigger while we were good. Yes, and my hair tends to fall out just to get more stressed and I'm going to go sit in the room. I love you. Love you, too, so. I love you. I love you, Callie. It looks very attractive. I'm not ready to say it yet. Tell them you want it. I love you. It looks surprisingly touched. Oh my God. Walks away. All right. He also had a really bad breakup a few years ago. What? Yeah. Okay, a band in the mission. I need to gap. It was during the feast in this ball. That launch pad academy. I love Facebook. I love these toads. Great. You know, they were doing the traditional exchanging of meals. The other wizard schools come to the school, and you switch meals and the food gets kind of cold. And so the wizards there have to heat up the food together. I just think you need to let him tell it. I'm not in a position to divulge this information. Okay. I shout to albie that we're going to talk about our mutual mutual breakups when I get back. Oh no. I also just went from a breakup. Said you get a message in your toilet paper roll. I hear you, sister. All right, onto the screw. You guys get back. I'll put the duck on the front. Oh, absolutely. Is there a basketball? That's got to be a basket. And I'm going to squeeze them like a horn whenever you want. You see, yeah, I mean, physically this duck is magic, so you squeeze them and you need them as a horn and you feel there's no bones there. "And finally to ends. Today's episode albie talking about how people act in dating apps dating apps. Step you her dating game if you really think about it. A solution to meet new people in the palm hands and really meet people without the hassled of pena. Plays and being nice to a guy or a girl that doesn't really attract you of course now with kobe. Nineteen a lot of people have been using the dating apps to either meet new people or start having any kind of relationship. I can say that at the beginning of the pandemic. I was one of those people that open an account you know did the whole thing and i did meet a couple of people i did. You know i talked to somebody and for a long time really and now we're friends over. We can say well not friends but really acquaintances anyways if you really think about it. Dating apps have taken that taboo of meeting someone online and joe's turn it around. Let's say it's like this. If you tell your parents or grandparents that you met someone online. They're going to think about things and they're gonna start giving you a lecture abou you don't know who you're gonna meet online. They can be strangers to be serial killers in the list goes on and on. If you tell one of your friends now they're gonna start asking any type of question like what other was their name. Have you seen them yet. Is she or he haw. Lemme see let's did you find him on social media. Let's look for them ball by and all this type of things that maybe twenty or thirty years ago. Maybe they can even tell you. Oh yeah i met with him too. I oh yeah. I met with him to or yeah. One of my friends dated him. I know who he is right now. There are so many dating apps that you can have one dating app like one application and then another one you match with the person in both or both or other dating apps. It's just funny. How now you see more and more people trying to do the dating online. Anyway to appoint inundating ups you can put the best picture of yourself and make people swipe bride and it's not like when you're hanging out and you may be all sweaty and you don't look as good as when you got out of the house or her. You know you may be a little bit tipsy a little bit drunk and you just make a fool of yourself anyway. The thing is that with dating apps you can talk to this person and you can either make yourself interesting while you basically catfish a person if you really do. Think about it which that's not cool at all but you try to make your best impression or you try to do the best that you can anyway dating apps it can be competition as well trying to impress that person that you match with and try to meet in person and everything will go well or will not even go horror. You won't even go past the starting the starting line that it's basically talking to them and picking up talking to them and just being there in their shot of course when you're in the dating apps let's say you're in the application raid and you're swiping writer swiping left whichever and you start to see different couple. You start to see different accounts different profiles and you see people that you you really do. See that they try too hard or some. Try to be to try to be honest. And of course when you're opening your own account and in your profile try to be as honest as possible and white and right. What you think is best for you. Let's say you're feminist. Let's say that you believe in something or whatever. It is. try to be as honest as possible in that bile basically anyways. Let's put the scenario you match with someone and you or them right you. I you know the pickup blind bob. Hey how are you. Or they just try to they. Just try to catch you with the cheeses. Pickup line like. Hey are you from tennessee. Because you're the ten. I see here suits though my god anyway. The point is that you need to be honest and open minded. When you try the dating up you are going to match with people that will tell you things that you feel uncomfortable with if that happens please. Just a match them. Do not even waste your time with them. 'cause we don't want to wear people in our lives although if you are it's all good you know. Go for it anyways. The point is that if you feel uncomfortable just a match them you'll see the guy or the girl that is going to be funny and the wanda doesn't really get your jokes. I mean this is one. Obviously you start chatting with the person anyway. Meany someone in dating apps can be alcorn can be an awkward thing but the reality is that you can never get to know someone be a message in of you have been doing the dating the online dating for awhile. You'll know that this is true. You need to exchange enough matched messages to get a better sense of this person. And of course in tax this person can be really nice and super talkative and all but then in person they just don't know what to say or their josip elaine boring. Obviously you need to give it a chance because it's the first date you're gonna think you know they're nervous and it's better. Just give them a little chance like the second the third day because you never know if they were with there were so nervous that they didn't knew what to do some of the people that aren dating abs. Either they're not really talkative. Like maybe socially awkward anyways you can really just judge judge them by the ability of texting the next thing i'm gonna say. I'm pretty sure that a lot of you have done this. And if this person gives you an give you enough information you try to prevent up in social media. You can deny this. Because i pretty sure that all of us have done it or even if your friends told you like no i match with the sky bob la. This isn't that an you start to look information as wallin. U.S. Reaches 70% Covid Vaccine Milestone for Adults

"Reached a vaccination goal nationwide. Albie It's a month later than they wanted reporter Alex Tin. The CDC now says that 70% of American adults have at least one dose of Covid 19 vaccine. Nearly a month after President Biden had hoped to reach that key goal for the fourth of July. That comes as the United States is nearing yet another milestone with close to 90% of seniors with at least one dose and has posted yet another day of accelerating first shots. The average daily rate of people starting vaccination is the highest it has been since early June.

"Briefing coming to you. Live from studio one here. At midori house in london daniel beach coming up on today's program. Germany begins to assess the impact of the country's devastating floods. This is my very reach. I know people have been affected. And i'm personally also shocked by what has been going on their senior politician. Alexander graf lambsdorff tells us how the freak weather has affected his constituents plus. We'll have the very latest on high level talks between india and china following eight tenths standoff along their vast shared border. Monaco's dr chris. Smith will also have an update on england's ping democ and why it's putting additional strain on the health service and we'll get a cultural roundup from our very own kiara ramallah as well care. What if you got for us. Thanks daniel albie token about the mirage of free speech and why faraj is not the answer more trouble on the horizon for the olympics and net flicks new so the head strategy all that right here on the briefing with me. Daniel bauge armand lashes angle. Merkel's likely successor as germany's chancellor has apologized after. He was caught laughing during a visit to areas afflicted by severe flooding in the west of the country. More than one hundred eighty people have died. In belgium and germany and hundreds remain missing earlier we spoke to alexander graf lambsdorff of the free democratic party about the impact. The flooding has had on his constituents. Let's have a lesson. The first thing that needs to happen is that the people that are still missing Looked for looked after. Save develop possible that we help those who have been afflicted. By this poverty really apocalyptic situation followed by a rebuilding of infrastructure but also the the minds in the soles of the people affected that was alexander. Graf lambsdorff of germany's free democratic party. Mr lambsdorff is also a senior member of the european parliament. Well let's get the latest now from stephanie. Bolton from develops stephanie. Welcome back to the show. We've seen some incredible images this morning and over the weekend. What are officials saying now about the situation on the ground where the situation in the west of the country which are the both regions the lender as we say in german not on this fine and followed so the areas and say north of frank food in south of cologne more or less The situation is now getting better. The rain has ceased and people are trying to start the rebuilding on leaving the rebuilding. That just trying to clear up and clean up what is really applicable apocalyptic and it was interesting the chancellor was they're gonna macking yesterday and she said there wasn't even a word german to describe the scene. She was saying the problem. Now is that The weather front as another weather phone. Now in the southeast so in bavaria and bordering to austria in there are lots of rivers not only the tenue but many other rivers and you see destruction there now and actually. The rain is going to persist there. So it's a very serious and dangerous situation now in another part of germany. The other thing we're watching of course is the political follow. What has the reaction been to armand. Lashes behavior late last week and to his apology while over the weekend. Well that was a very unfortunate Moment for militia who's the Spits and candy dot as we say For the federal election the end of september. So he is the head of the cd you gonna macos party and her likely successor because the cd you is is leading the pulse and always has been but there was this moment where the president Funk by steinmeyer he was giving a speech and in the background you could see shit joe king and laughing with other people from his party and that of course in these states now in our days with the social media that when round and of course the the reaction has been very harsh. A lot of people are saying that she does not have the quality to be chancellor that he didn't really he hasn't understood the situation the seriousness and that this behavior office would really Show that he is not able to be the chancellor because in such a situation of crisis He wouldn't he wouldn't manage it. And of course that was quite Because angela merkel mcclellan a little bit later and the truth is if you compare the appearance and and how they Hold themselves public between russia on today's massive different. She different than she is. She seems to be on. She is because she has so much experience much more professional and she seems to have just more empathy for the people and that is very difficult for me lawsuit because they were actually writing not high but better in the polls compared to the greens the greens had a green party. Had a massive problem with bash. Bits and dot unabated book and now the cd was losing again. So it's a bit of a roller coaster over there. yes absolutely. You mentioned the elections that are upcoming at the end of september. That's two months away. How is this crisis playing into how the leaders are then responding of course green says he mentioned there underscoring the impact of climate change in this crisis. What other parties. What are the other parties looking a to see how they might be able to take an advantage from this. Sounds terrible to say but they'll be thinking about the the days ahead as well. Obviously the question of climate change is back in the center of attention It was very much the koruna crisis and the rebuilding economic rebuilding on after coming out of the pandemic and climate the climate change which is a core Issue of the green party and this is why the green party in germany is also very popular because they are very credible in their policies to fight climate change. but i mean The cdu and was quite successful trying to have it both ways in a way saying yes. We definitely need to fight climate change but also we have to. We have to protect gems. germany's economy. We cannot burden industry and also consumers with too high prices war addicting climate. Change now with the pictures that are coming out of germany and now again even in other parts of germany everyday climate crisis is in the center in focus again and this will help the greens. The big question for the cd. When i'm in lush it is if at the end of september while the cd is still very likely to win. But the greens together with the liberals and dsp could fall what we call a traffic light. Coalition so Red yellow green and that is the big question for for the election. Stephanie just lastly here and briefly. What is the rule of angela merkel. You mentioned earlier. Her sort of responsible figure her maturity in this What is her role as we look ahead to the elections. Well of course still the chance of germany. Some i mean obviously you are always lame duck when you leaving office. But she is the one who is determining policies until the end of september She is as we know we call her the season councilman so she's the crisis chancellor she's very good at crisis situations. She she her her visits Yesterday or the day before in in the flood region Again more popular. She is very popular and whoever will succeed her in berlin the chancellery and confirmed has to reach up to to the of popularity and seriousness and management skills. That she has shown over the last sixteen years mean. Germany will say we are glad to see the for but there is also an understanding that in germany and outside germany she. She is a historic figure and she has managed many crisis. Mainly she's done a really good job. Thank you stephanie. That was developed stephanie. Bolton there now here's monaco's carlotta rabelo with the day's other news headlines thanks daniel rights activists journalists and lawyers around the world have been targeted with phone malware which has been sold to authoritarian governments by the israeli surveillance firm. Nso the investigation by seventeen media organizations suggests widespread abuse her venison hacking spyware. The danish cartoonist..

"I don't have to get this big. I have to get this third stone. But i'm gonna give it a shot. No someone picked it up while they're gave it one shot. You know from the hips. It didn't go drop. It wasn't worried about the time. I felt pretty good. You know with the fastest two stone split. So i just wrote with and It paid off in a better than what i what i thought placing as well ended up taking it by six and a half points. Yeah that's that's more that's all part of having a good coach and being a season petr being prepared and understanding that. Sometimes you don't need to go all out like you know where you're at. You know what you need in the guys catching you can't chase you. You're not say mill in but yet there's no need push risking injury your or showing off at that point you let off so i get a smart thing if you give it a try. Didn't go your walkaway take your victory. It's like i gotta go all out all events. I gotta do my best. That i didn't understand the strategy behind it but luckily you know as years on bios able understand eight. There's a strategy behind every single competition. Every single event. I started garnishing. I'm thankful for that yet. That's why i like to sports. I always say it's kind of like a chess match. You know where where you to push in like like on the deadly you go into that event knowing. You're not gonna be albie. You're not gonna pull twelve. Wraps would just be the rest of the pack. "Yeah you know that was That was like total koto. Bs matter orioles rights. issues. Because you know may fourteenth in california degree teams in texas so states. They had multiple teams. And and you know. Even now the nixon brooklyn i mean brooklyn. I'm sure any territorial right now. Right money to the To the to the knicks and vice versa. So i may happen Whereas with that beal was brokered by my agents Irwin lena Doing that It was the It was the nets Felt as though it would be very detrimental to the nets franchise to deal with the mix and for the discussion whereas You can go anywhere else except dix so graphically You know. I had established governor family and long island. And you know i just kind of look for the close displace Detained the closest place is by default. South affiliate go north of boston and And so was commutable. You know from long island. World manhattan is now containment train income long island. It's a couple of hours right by car. Or whatever. So i oversee hard even knowing the franchise and you know doing so much. Their homework that gets done. These days. I ended up going to philadelphia for geographical. Now when you went to philly doc you became really a more team oriented player than you were in In new york. You had. George mcginnis lloyd free doug collins but you became more of a team ballplayer down with the sixers. I felt as though my squires years in the chain. Yeah and my nazi is. We did play team basketball and In philly with gene shoob You know we tried to play this balance style of basketball but there was a lot of individuality and philadelphia that. It took a couple of years to to to get rid of and even though in that first year he played for the nba championship and Seventy six seventy seven season Lost apartment You know it took several years and some coaching changes in order to really find the team that you know we had eighty eighty two eighty three In which we compete with it but a championship for To times Well actually eighty eighty two and eighty three three times Winning running and eighty three s. You know so When you say that the team game you know probably by you know you start looking at maybe my individual stats and you know there was much higher than aba tire and and with the nets But they were actually the highest with the squires in those first couple years. Charlie scott on the team and Race scott Fatty taylor berry williams jambo jamaicans so curve and and you know the year yield town was on that team and we had albie yankees coach. Albie was really a great coach and And hall of fame scout having loughry in and and billy cunningham so so i was able to be influenced by some Great coaches who were former players and And each had their own style but The fun time fun time for me. Was you know the virginia. Years with the squires and the and the and the nazi is in long hours. So you know that that's always going to be you know. Home chameleon home cooking right. And we're glad to hear that doc. That's for sure. Now i wanna talk to you about one of your signature moves. The baseline move now. The one of the most memorable plays i remember. It was during the eighty. Nba finals It was impossible finger roll behind. The backboard drove past. I think it was mark landsberger on the right baseline and then kareem. Kareem comes into the picture right. Yeah yeah yeah you know that We just kind of call it the layup up and under up in under probably To the thing about it was the hang time now that i was able to To take off you know on the right side of the basket and shoot the ball on the left side of the vaccine and actually took off outside of the the free throw lane. you know. they're lying going down up and down from the free throw line and Just kind of You know sort an air for a while has the ball in one hand hanging out away from the defense and then when it got to the other side of the basket there was an opening too to bring it up and -unding spinning spin off the glass with kareem abdul-jabbar standing there with his arms hoisted. Yeah and he never jumped. And i just remember distinct stinks. Wish lee Fall into the ground. And you know 'cause. I had just exhausted my My job and you know. For whatever reason i could land on my feet are be just hit you know hit sideways and selling the ground and got up and ran down the court and then suddenly you know pants. The next day is just like this series of photos depicting that move in that game. And it's something that you know has lived on all of these years For sure was in college now. They're black and white photo. There's the yeah there. There's a an. I see i see.

TCP and its History

"Okay. So why would HTTP three point? Oh, ditch TCP which has been a part of the framework of the internet since the very beginning. Since before there was an internet while mostly comes down to two big things speed and officiency. So when Robert Kahn and Vint CERF were working on TCP. They were building out a protocol to handle any sort of application, though, it'd be built on top of what was to become the internet. So it has a very much a a one size fits all kind of approach to that it provided useful or really I mean at this point. I should just say necessary set of features to facilitate communication, but some of those are excessive or not as pertinent to the types of traffic that happened over HTTP or. They impede some of the functions that HTTP handles, for example in an effort to establish a connection between a client and server TCP requires a number of back and forth messages, essentially saying, hey over their services. Yeah. What is it glances? I wanna talk to you the services. All right. Hang on a second. And the computer says is now good time in the services. Yeah. Yeah. Let's go ahead and do that it's far more technical than that. But there's the series that goes back and forth in order for a communication channel to be established between client and server that gets even more complicated. If you want to have an encrypted connection over secure socket layer or SSL using a website. So, you know, the little lock that you see in the address bar when you visit a secure website. That's part of SSL well to establish that kind of connection between your computer or your computers browse. Which is the client and the server which houses the website, your visiting two it requires even more round trips between the two two I establish the connectivity. And then established the encrypted communications. So the process is good for making sure that there is an actual route for data to follow. But it's not the most straightforward approach. If you wanna use HTTP, particularly if you want to use encrypted connections. There is another protocol, however called user, data Graham protocol, or you DP and that can serve as the foundation for a new transport layer for H T, T P three point. Oh, UDP has a big advantage over TCP. It is incredibly simple, and it is incredibly fast. It is a transport layer protocol just like TCP, but unlike TCP UDP does not have the same features to ensure communique. Nations are established or successful. So that could be a big drawback. Right. UDP transmissions are unordered. So a later message can arrive ahead of an earlier one, and that can be very confusing. If you haven't built in a way of dealing with that there's also no means for the receiving computer to know, if something has gone wrong. If packets go missing, it doesn't know if it doesn't have all the different pieces of it's just over pure UDP, but UDP can act as a base to build upon. It doesn't have to be the protocols. Don't have to be the end Albie. All that's your starting point. So Google has taken UDP as it starting point and built upon it. To create an experimental network protocol called Q U I UIC for quick UDP internet connections. The IEP Tf has taken this experimental protocol and worked on creating a standardized version which in some. As has moved away from what Google's initial design was all about. But the writing is on the wall for TCP as far as the H T T P standard is concerned moving forward the transport layer. That was initially published in the nineteen seventies is going to have to make way for a lighter more agile and less cumbersome standard. In addition to the move away from TCP, the new version of H T T P will be more secure quick as designed by Google transports, data by encrypting it by default is not the added layer on top of everything in his the default layer, Google's build which is sometimes called HTTP over quick is supported in the latest versions of Google Chrome. And in the opera web browser right now only a few websites actually make use of it. Most of them belong to Google though. Facebook has also been incorporating it, it's going to be a really long. Path to travel to get widespread adoption because right now less than two percent of all web sites. Support quick. Meanwhile, TCP will still be in

Google Vint Cerf Robert Kahn Facebook Graham Albie Two Percent
