"What's the upside? Like what? So he's going to set the alarm clock on his phone for 40 minutes a day. And just run the clock out. No. Like if he's going to make that meaningful work, he's going to have to he's going to have to want to do it. He's going to have to want to do it the same way other quarterbacks want to do it. So I mean, there was so much downside to me to putting that in the contract. I don't know if you can tell me, but I just don't know what the upside was to put that in there. I don't know. Maybe they just didn't somebody didn't think about what it would look like if when it comes out because as you know everything comes out in the National Football League. It's just wild. And then we'll just see how it all plays out over the first 6 weeks with obviously no Deandre Hopkins. Where are you right now, Albert? We can hear the whistling. That's why the first 5 minutes of conversation was a little awkward because I was trying to avoid the speakers. It's all good. And then I love the whistles. I walked into an area where I wasn't supposed to be. And so security was kind of pointing me around. Oh. But I tried to raise the volume in my voice. So this would seem like a very important phone call. But which it is, which it is, okay? It can be a little dodgy and I thought it'd be fine out here, but the speakers were a little louder than I bargained for. No, it's great. I love the whistles. All you need is just the sound of the sprinklers and we got ourselves a hard knock open. So this is great. Before I let you go, just a couple of minutes on your lead item in your Monday morning quarterback going to steelers camp. Is this trubisky's gig because we saw over the weekend that Pickett is getting only third team reps. Mason Rudolph's looking good, but is this trubisky's gig? You think? All right, so history tells us that first round picks are going to play, right? Like this is a pretty amazing number. If you go back to Matt Ryan, and Joe Flacco in 2008, 44 quarterbacks have gone in the first round from O 8 21, only three didn't make multiple starts as rookies. Which is nuts, right? So every first round pick place, essentially. That said, the Steelers aren't going to do something based on how everybody else does saying something. Kenny Pickett looked like he has a long way to go based on what I saw out there. I can change, but right now that's what it looks like. And I hate to say it like trubisky looks like there might be a little something there. I know he took a lot from playing with Josh Allen and buffalo and I think he'd give me a service that was starting quarterback, you know? So and maybe more than that. We'll see. But I think they feel like they've got a contender there. And having a veteran quarterback guy who's played a lot in mister biscuit helps. And I don't think they're going to push Kenny Pickett out onto the field just to push him out onto the field and right now it doesn't look like he's ready to start. Albert, thanks for the time. Greatly appreciate it, man. Be well. Thanks for putting that with me having to Dodge up over here. Come on, man. I'm going to have to go back and listen to the podcast to hear my voice rising so I can bring back that memory of having to Dodge security. Are you coming out here to Los Angeles where the world champs resort? No, I was going to text you about that last night. I forgot, but yeah, I'll be I'll be out there I think. Once they Sunday Monday Tuesday, something like that. Come on. Are you going to be in town? Actually, I don't know if I'll be here, but the show's on the air. I'll reach out to you. I'll reach out to you because everybody here wants to see your training camp Nantucket, George Hamilton ten. And how it's all working. It's in good shape right now. We had a couple we had a couple of cloudy days that affected it a little bit. Okay. By the time I get there, I think I should be in good shape. Clouds can not get in your way, sir. Thanks for the time, Albert, you be will. You got it. Albert breer, right there who in the mention of Mitchell trubisky, did you notice two things? Higher register? You know, I mean, he's got some going on there. I think he learned something with Josh. And he dropped the word that I associate with the word solid. Serviceable. That's is the subtext of the word solid. He's a solid quarterback. Serviceable. I do not view solid as everybody around these parts knows as a compliment. There are so many more district descriptive adjectives and words to say something complimentary. Serviceable, ain't it. But it looks like picket question. Looks like poll question. What's better? Solid serviceable. Solid way better. So it's just a rich thing.

And then there's bob Ryan, there's an overreaction Monday, by the way, deebo Samuel signed all of the receivers who wanted new money have now been signed. "He's going to be playing behind one of the best offensive lines in football. You know, he I think has a pretty good skill position group around. And one of the best running games in the league and a team that should intend through the year. You know? And I think if you're another team looking at baker as a potential starter pass this year, how good would it look? If Baker Mayfield was able to turn the other cheek and everybody who's ever said he's immature, right? Like everybody who's ever said he's childish, everybody who's ever taken shots and who he is as a person. If he's able to rise above that and play really well for the browns in 2022, like wouldn't that make him look great? I hear you. I hear you. And again, like all my information to this point, baker's done with the browns and the browns are operating 100% as if Baker Mayfield is not going to be in their roster in 2022. Just saying, if it's a full year suspension for watts and I can see where you logically look at it and say, you know, you sort of make that deal with the devil. Both sides. You know what I mean? Like you make that deal with somebody, you weren't going to make a deal with. And you go forward because you think there's a great mutual benefit on the other side of it. And I guess they could name their 2022 championship video. Let's just use each other. That's the rallying cry for 2022. Let's just use each other. One more year. Think about this if he plays well then the browns get a third round comp take form, letting them go. I mean, like, there's just like this is me, this is me. Purely me saying this. Again, my information has said they're done with each other, but it does make sense. I think that there is a scenario where it makes sense. Again, only if Watson spent it for the whole year where the cap space is already used. And this isn't a situation like San Francisco where getting Jimmy off the books is going to facilitate the signing of a Bosa or a debo. You know, like they're okay cap wise, they can scare him. I just think that there could be a mutual benefit to if you're either side holding your nose and going forward and saying, let's make the best of this. Albert, thanks for doing this, brother. I appreciate it. Albert breer here from the MM QB. I said that to avoid being sued for copyright infringement. 'cause if I said the MM QB, would I get sued by Ohio State? Would I get sued? What do you think? How does that work? Have you looked into the fine print? I don't know. Because I'm in a loss, can I start charging royalties? Is that the way this works? No. Did you did you miss this? Did you miss this? That Ohio State got the trademark for the word the yeah, I don't know, I'm asking if I can start charging royalties too. I don't know. Ask your Alma mater. I just don't. My wife's sitting right here. Maybe I can get her to count the I could have put you on speaker and got the guy got her to count the number of times. He said Z and we get kind of like have a little deal there where it's like a swear jar, you know? Yeah, I know. You can give me a little check. I wonder if maybe Michigan could try and trademark the word Anne, you know? Something else, another article that everyone uses and I don't know, just try that one out. I'm sorry. We're the only one. I realized that we aren't the only one that has the start of our name. And I noticed I looked at the Penn State at Penn State. I noticed a press box. It says on it, the Pennsylvania state university. So we're not the only ones that does it. We're just, we're just the only ones that do.

"Then after a year, he could apply for reinstatement, which you know in a lot of cases, like when we've seen banishment in the past, it has wound up being a year. But I think from a logistical standpoint, it's a little different than just like a flat year suspension in that he has to reapply to get back in and go through a process to get back into the NFL. So that's what the league is going for. The union's case here is interesting because it relates to the cases of the individual owners. And the way the league has handled cases of individual owners and the three names that they brought up. And I know people appointed to Jerry Richardson. That one doesn't really apply here because Jerry Richardson almost immediately decided to sell his team. So there wasn't really I mean, there wasn't really room for sanctions in that case because he was gone so quickly. Boas Snyder, with Jones and craft and their individual cases and then of course what's happening with Snyder over the last two years, the union is going to make the case that spending a player for a year based on the premise that owners are held to a higher standard would be equitable to the way that they treated those three owners over the last three years. And the other case the union is going to make here is that the NFL has really had a hard time finding credible facts here. And we can argue to a portfolio in the face on that. I'm just telling you what the union could be here. That's why I'm asking. Yeah, that the league today is only going to present the case to 5 women. And I believe one of those women is not among the 24 plaintiffs. So they're going to they're going to basically present 5 out of 25 out of four out of 24 at most. And then 5 out of the number would be 66, right? So the union's argument is going to be why did you only why were you only able to present the cases of 5 women if there are supposedly 66 out there? And if I'm the league, I'd respond. You want to sit here all day? Because we can. You know what I mean? I'm not arguing their case. You're right. Exactly. And if I'm the Players Association, that is an interesting point that other owners have been accused of misconduct and they didn't have to sit out a year, although you can go back and forth about whether Watson's base conduct is the same as the misconduct that has been alleged of the owners in this case. So what happens when it's all placed in front of the independent investigator or judge and when does she rule? What happens next after today? Well, I mean, I mean, she could rule, I guess, I don't know if the wording would be quite the same from the bench. You know what I mean? Like so, I guess she could rule this week if she wanted to when she's done hearing. She could also take all this under consideration and deliberate. I think one of the things that we sort of all been looking at is like the bad idea of a bad news dump, right? As you have been around this for longer than I have reached, I mean, Friday is sort of the high holy day of NFL bad news stuff. You know what I mean? The Friday right before the 4th of July. So I just, I understand why people think that. I just don't know that Sue Robinson is going to adhere to that timeline. You know, like I don't know that it's really in her interest at all to spare the NFL, that so I don't know that it's that predictable once she's going to make a ruling. She could make a ruling, like I said, like as soon as she after she hears all the cases, she could take it under advisement and just kind of sort through some things. And then when she makes a ruling, she'll recommend it to the commissioner. And the commissioner then, which is the really interesting part about this. The commissioner could, if he wanted to just decide that he wants to do what the league wanted to do all along and alter her punishment. The only way he can alter the punishment is if there's no punishment. I don't think any of us expect that. So I'll likelihood Robinson is going to hand the hand her recommendation over to the commissioner and then the commissioner is going to have to make a decision on what to do with it or hand it over to his designee, which would be somebody he would appoint to make that decision for the league instead of him. And so he can up the penalty to whatever the league wants to do anyway. I mean, so although is this the first time this has happened? Did Calvin Ridley go through this process as well? For his yearlong suspension for his gambling, mishaps and misdeeds? Yeah, I think and you know what? That's a good example that I didn't I had thought of. So I haven't dug into it. Sure. It does seem to me like that happened so fast that maybe there was a settlement in that case. Right. So like as generally, if these things drag out and you don't hear about penalty for a while in a lot of cases, like that's because there was a settlement. If it does drag out forever, then that means a lot of you saw the appeals have been heard in the process has been gone through. So this is certainly the highest profile since the 2020 CBA went into effect. I'm not sure that it's the first. Albert breer here on the rich eisen show senior NFL reporter of Sports Illustrated the MM queue B and again, if this was in any way shape or form, managed or coordinated, I would say bravo to Baker Mayfield and his team on the day that Watson's having his suspension hearing, right? "Based on the news that Russell Westbrook has opted in to $47 million, no shock there, and Kyrie Irving has opted in to $36 million with the nets, no shock there if you're just thinking about sheer money, but it's more than just about that, I guess. Who knows is what Brian windhorst said he has no idea if this means Kyrie's going to stay or not. And if Durant's going to stay or not, he says he's just going to sit back and watch the rest of this entire new league year of free agency period that happens later on this week playoff. If you missed any of that again, YouTube dot com slash rich eisen show. Chris brockman, good to see you over there. Hey, rich. The DJ Mikey D is in these nuts. Let's hope. What's up TJ Jefferson? Hey, what's going on, rich? You know what's going on, you know how sometimes you ask somebody, you just forget like, what's the date? Instead of what day it is. But what's the actual number? Natural number, the actual date. And sometimes you could just like look at your watch and see it on your watch if you have such a timepiece. Sometimes you can look on your phone, right? There's a calendar on your phone. You can actually use a real calendar. Instead, I just turned to Chris brockman. And ask you what the data is by showing you the American League standings. And so here we are. With the Yankees coming up with another come back when yesterday. You can't keep this up. Fueled by another extra base hit by Jose trevino, their catcher. Let's not forget all the Yankee fans that were melting down except for me when they traded Gary Sanchez away at the beginning of the season before the season. I was like, look, man, there's too many guys that are either strike out hit or home run. Strike out walker home run on this team. Let's figure out what Josh Donaldson and Isaiah Connor falefa for shortstop can do with defensively, even though he hasn't played a cleanser. And it helps when you're a catcher rich actually being able to catch. That's another one too. So there's that. And you know, and the Yankees now have 23 come from behind wins. That's major league base. So of their 54 wins through their first 74 games. 23 have been come back wins. They were down 5 two last night on the hapless a's who were the first team to lose 50 games this year. There are 25 and 50. The a's are not good. And the yanks have two more games left with them. So what day is it, Chris? Because that's normally like tell you what the standings are and you're like, yeah, but it's still early. What's today's date? June 28th. We're still not at the all stars. It gets later every time. Well, that's just how time works. Just put it up in one time here. Put it up one more time if you don't mind, please, because the right socks have been red hot lately. They were winning 7 in a row they lost yesterday. To the Blue Jays. And that knocked the Red Sox to 12 out Blue Jays right behind him at 12 and a half, and there are the rays at 13 out. Richman, the playoff start, there are no records. And how about the Orioles? Just look at them coming back. They're only 5 under 500 now. The O's. Last night. So usually the toughest division in baseball. Easily. What are you laughing about? It's terrible. Look at the American League wild card standings. The three teams in the American League wild card right now are the three teams sitting behind the Yankees. Nobody's winning the division, though. I mean, what I'm saying is in the division where you still, it's still a schedule where you play against your division opponents way more than you do anybody else. 19 times, right? I think it's been knocked down a 16. I'm completely familiar on that. Just pointing out again, you know, all three teams are one, two, three in the wild card. No, you're right. And Cleveland is two and a half. And you might say I'm writing October checks that the Yankees will not be able to catch. And you could accuse me of that. You could accuse me of just talking a whole bunch of crap. Was that me writing checks right there? Was that a sound bite of me? That's not saying stop. Mike, no, Mike, Mike, please. I'm just trying to find out what day it is. Okay. It's like a cuckoo clock. That's the cuckoo and the standings of the clock. June 28th, thank you. I didn't know what day it was. June 28th. Thank you. And later on in this Joe and our number three John boys going to join us, his breakdown of the Mariners angels brawl was a day in the making because it took him that long, I mean, he sourced multiple YouTube feeds of the game, including a Japanese YouTube feed that has it because ohtani every single move that he makes is being sent back home for him. And so he pushed he piece this all together and there is no doubt. No doubt that the interim manager of the LA angels film heaven sent his pitcher Andrew wants out there. To start open the game to throw it Seattle marriage. And we'll talk about that in our three with John boy. He's no question. The baseball gave him a ten game suspension yesterday. And so there's a reason for that. Ten games. So they're on the angels are now onto their third string manager right now. That's awesome. I'm not lying. These are all truths. That's also crazy. So we'll talk about that with John Boyd later on. Albert breer is about to join us in about 14 minutes time, 13 minutes now. He's going to join us from, I believe, the beautiful island of Nantucket. Where he is covering all things NFL surfing with his family and getting that George Hamilton Albert breer tanned down pat in time for getting that base ready for training camp. A lot of pastels. Oh man. Breer is all over what's going on in the NFL, despite taking some high quality and much deserved personal time off, BTO, he's going to join us anyway in about 13 minutes time to talk about what is going on with the league and deshaun Watson and the Players Association today is the day where there's a hearing on his potential or no doubt.

"I would say this, if this was intentional, if waiting was intentional by Lamar, it's a really good business decision. Look at how many quarterbacks are making 40 before this year. Before this off season, look how many are making over 40 now. That number rich has gone from three to 7. Matthew Stafford's in that club now, Daniel Carr's in that club now, deshaun Watson's in that club now. It's just, I mean, I think we've seen across the board. This goes for receivers to pass rushers. Like waiting has those guys who are still out there, you're DK met cash or carry mclaurin that receiver obviously your large axes, you know, Kyle and Murray's a quarterback. Those guys are in a really good position to ask for more now because the market has almost completely changed at those positions over the last 6 months. Albert breer here on the rich eisen show. Matt rules comments on Sam darnold yesterday certainly called our ear or a couple days ago. I'm saying that Sam's the quarterback if they had a game today, but admitted his one way to put it allowed that there's an upgraded every position that any coach were team would endeavor if necessary and he included the quarterback position and we had a little bit of a role play here where I had Chris brockman play Andy Reid and TJ play Mike McCarthy and I asked them the question if they needed an upgrade at their quarterback or would endeavor that and I think you get my point. So what is going on with darnold and his Baker Mayfield on their radar screen still? Here in mid June. Yeah, he is, and I would tell you that if there was a good deal out there for baker, Mayfield for the Panthers, he might already be a panther. You know, I think if they are in a position where they only had to pay him four or $5 million, then I think there's a decent chance that the Baker Mayfield will be in Carolina now in Cleveland would have a draft pick for him. On the flip side, Cleveland's been willing to take on a fair amount of baker salary like 9 $10 million. So people out there think that Cleveland's holding on to baker and his Deshawn insurance. They wouldn't be offering to take on a hail a pretty significant portion of the guy's salary if they were looking to hold him until there's more clarity in the deshaun Watson case. So do I think there's a solution to be found here where the Panthers can go get bigger Mayfield and throw them into a competition with Sam Donald Matt corral. I certainly think that that solution is out there. I just think the Panthers, so the Panthers to do it, I think it's going to have to be a bargain. And by the way, I think that the similar type of thing might apply to the Seahawks, depending on where they're at coming out of their off season program, which will walk. I tend to think like reading the tea leaves is probably not great news. The true lock hasn't passed since I think we know what she's expect is now. And that drew lock isn't like clearly taking the first half of training camp. So I guess another one to watch. Obviously now with some of the more uncertainty that Desean situation, you do wonder if Cleveland may be regroups after the off season program and ways the pluses and minuses to maybe try to get banker back in the poll. I'm not going to say, I'm not saying they're going to do that, but it would seem to me that if they're now forecasting maybe a season long suspension for Watson, it might be something worth exploring. So the reason why Carolina didn't agree to the discounted Baker Mayfield rate is because why? Because half of Mayfield getting it at half of the 5th year option price is still too steep because they already have a quarterback on the 5th year option price. And I think that there's that element of it. Like again, I don't know how close they were on draft pick compensation or anything like that. Right. You know, I do think I do think that there's if we felt like I guess like if you feel like you're getting a deal, then go ahead and do the deal. You know what I mean? And it's worth taking the extra swing. I also think there was value for Carolina though and getting a full off season program with a look at Sam darnold and Ben mcadoo's office is mcadoo's articulated the people in that building that he thinks he can work with Sam, and then also getting a clear look at Matt corral. Who has them off field questions and everything else this talented and maybe should have done a little higher than he went there in the third round. And so I think for both Carolina and Seattle, there was an element of wanting to get a good long look at the guys that are already in your building and both teams were able to do that over the last 9 weeks along behold here we are and we're in the back half of June now and Baker Mayfield still out there and Jimmy Garoppolo so out there. So it's going to be interesting to see where this goes over the next few weeks because now where teams are, which is like with the off season program done, every team has a chance to sort of reassess based on the 9 weeks of data that the off season program gave them and certainly that includes the amount of information that both those teams were able to gather on the quarterbacks over the last 9 weeks. Albert breer here on the rich eisen show. So where does everything stand with the Sean Watson right now best you can tell Albert. Yeah, I think the league my feelings been that July sort of been the target all along. And because I think you and I have talked about this before, there's the discovery that the pre trial discovery deadline at the end of this month that the league would feel and the investigators too Robinson the former U.S. district court judge who is running the investigation is going to give the initial finding. I think they feel a little bit more comfortable once they get past that pretty trial discovery deadline because I mean it's not going to be complete. I don't think it's ever going to be complete and this year because it looks like the losses are going to carry into 2023, but at least then you feel comfortable that you have I would say a good percentage of the information that's going to come out. So I felt all on. They let that deadline task and then at some point in July, we get a decision. I think the question now becomes what's happened over the last week and a half. Does that make you skittish enough or you're like, oh God, what else is going to happen? Is something really significant is going to happen in August or September, that's why my feeling is there are still going to whatever the punishment is, the sanctions are probably going to leave things pretty open engine and saying the commissioner reserves the right to the commissioner reserves the right to alter the punishment in some way if new information becomes available. I still don't think that they want to use the commissioner's exempt list, but it remains a lever out there that roger could pull. If he really does feel uncomfortable and he wants to put deshaun paid leave, and then I think certainly the idea of giving him a full year suspension, I think this is something that's probably been discussed in the league office by now. I mean, the NFL could then couch it as well, we sat to Sean for deshaun had the fact that year off last year. And now we're going to suspend him for a year. So you add up the time away from the game and it's equivalent to what MLB to Trevor Bauer. Well, I mean, it's not just, it's interesting you mentioned the Trevor Bauer name there. But it's not just the court of public opinion. It's the extra and soon to be more civil cases coming. It's not just that also. It's also Desean Watson's inability to explain himself in a coherent manner or a convincing matter in the court of public opinion. It just keeps mounting and his also desires, he says to clear his name and how long that will take. That this is something that is an open ended question, not just for the rest of this calendar year, but could go into next calendar year as well, and one story that didn't get much run or sound bite that didn't get much run this week that I'd like to ask you about was Nick casaro, the GM of the Texans being asked if the trade could be voided and he essentially gave the answer of no backsies to use the phrase that I think that many people are familiar with in the world. Are the browns having escrow buyers remorse at all on this?.

"Albert breer is back on the program. How you been, Albert? I'm good. I'm good. How you doing, right? I'm hanging in there, man. What the hell is going on with Baker Mayfield as you and I are sitting right now? What is happening? In that state. I mean, I think it just comes down to money, you know? At this point, I think as much bluster as there is back and forth. This is going to really come down to how much money the browns are willing to take on. And you know, I think this is sort of why you're seeing shifting attitudes when it comes to the 5th year option because in the new CBA, those are fully guaranteed now, which of course gives the player more control where the team had all the control. Barring some sort of injury. The team would have all the control before. And so. I think that the browns may have been able to find a suitor for Baker Mayfield if there were a team out there willing to at least roll the dice on him the way the Panthers rolled the dice on Sam darnold. Last year. But that team doesn't even that doesn't exist right now. And so, you know, this goes one or two ways either the browns move to pick up a bigger portion of Baker Mayfield salary or they hold them on the roster. And they hope that there's an injury somewhere else. Oh, boy. That makes that creates some level of desperation from another team where that team will be willing to take on the $18.858 billion. Oh boy. Oh boy, 'cause I mean, all right, there's a couple things here. Let's start here. Haven't we reached the part of this situation though? Where everybody thinks the browns are going to have to cut them anyway. So why would they even entertain an idea of engaging them in trade talks and paying money for Baker Mayfield that they feel they're going to have to pay? Aren't we at that point of this conversation? Here's the thing. I don't think baker, I think we've maybe gone a little too far as far as like what baker's value is, right? I think teams view him as a starting quarterback. And I think we probably all look at him a little bit differently if you want the first overall pick. Like if he had been a second or a third round pick in 2018, which looking back like it's probably what he should have been, I think we would probably all view him as a relative success story. He want to play off game in Cleveland, which quarterback hadn't done in a long, long time. And he's plenty confident. Nobody's going to trade for him thinking he's going to be a top ten quarterback in the league. But, you know, he's somewhere between 20 and 32 probably. And again, that the issue now is there's not an open seat forum. And if they cut him, here's the thing, they cut him, then some other team can at the minimum and it won't make any difference to him because of the way the offsets work, right? So he can go sign for the minimum wherever he wants. And at that point, the browns lose control of the situation and they could be making somebody else. Maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers stronger by making Baker Mayfield available to them. So I think that that's sort of the part of the part of it that's a little tricky here is that maybe you can get somebody to take on 5 million or $8 million this salary and bring them in. Versus if you cut him, then there's no motivation for baker or another team to do a deal worth anything more than the minimum because the mount baker is going to get is going to be the same no matter where he goes. And in that scenario, the browns won't be able to dictate his location. So let's get into the where then. Let's just say hypothetically Albert Baker Mayfield gets released just today. Let's just say today, in the midst of this conversation or after we hang up with you, let's just wave a wand and say that happens. Who would raise their hand for? Who would say, well, I'll take them for that price. I think an opener. I honestly think Seattle would look at it. Now, I don't think that they wanted to fork over draft capital for them and pay them $18 million. But under the right circumstance, and look, like I think Pete Carroll wants to create a quarterback competition there. And you look at their drafts and they didn't come away with one, you know? And so I think Seattle is a place where if you look at how they got Russell Wilson all those years ago, right? It's easy for all of us to sit here and say, well, they took a big swing on a third round pick and they nailed that, you know? But the truth is, and I think you and I have talked about this before, they got to Russell Wilson by continually throwing darts. And they signed Matt Flynn. They traded for Charlie whitehurst. They brought back Matt hasselback to that first year. They signed her virus Jackson. And you look at where Seattle is and they're sort of back where they were before. And I think that this would be a worthwhile dart to throw. A guy who was a former first overall pick was as much starting experience. He throw them in a competition with drew lock and you see what happens. So they still make the most sense. The Panthers are going to be interesting because I think from a reps perspective, they might have an interest in baker or Jimmy Garoppolo, but they might want to see their other guys first in the spring. I know, and this is going to sound crazy. There are some things that their new offensive coordinator Ben mcadoo really likes about Sam darnold and he thinks that maybe he can get more out of him. So getting the chance to see them in the practice field in May and June may have some value to them. And then obviously getting a look at what they have in their third round pick and max corral, that, I think, I think they want to gather some information on where Matt corral is over the next 6 or 7 weeks. So yeah, I mean, if he was cut, look, I think those are the two teams that everybody will be looking at. And I think both those teams make sense for different reasons. I think if you look at where the Panthers are right now, they may be in more of a position to sort of just start gathering information on the guys they've got on the roster right now and you know, I think that they could be in the hunt for somebody like Jimmy Garoppolo too if that information leads them into a not great place when they get to the middle of June. And you know, The New Yorker and me Albert breer is kind of scoffing that Baker Mayfield might not wind up in Seattle because they like Gino Smith better and he might not wind up in Carolina because Ben mcadoo like Sam darnold better. It all comes back. I'm kind of like, wow, that would be kind of wild. That would kind of wild. Because you mentioned Jimmy Garoppolo as well. I honestly, I'm sitting here unless there's a rash of training camp injuries, do you think week one, both of these guys are still on their respective teams and caps, just sitting there? Do you think that's entirely possible? I mean, here's the thing. The niners with Jimmy is a little, I just look at where the niners are and some of the things that they may want to do. Let's say that they reconcile with Devo Samuel..

"For you, newt rich eisen show segment and a concept or idea that like everything else born here, we just thought of on the spot. TB 12 heat check. Heat check. On a scale of zero to 12, zero is what's a lot of been using. Jell-O shots with Rita Moreno. Where not thinking at all about coming back and 12 is he's definitely coming back. Where do you stand on that scale? Yeah, I like so I'll be firmly on the fence. I'll say 7. Why? The reason why is I don't think he knows how he's going to feel like June and July and August. And I think I've said this to you before, rich, but it's a much different thing, like asking a guy for a 12 month commitment, right? A 12 month commitment to play football, which is what you'd be doing now. Versus like a team coming to him in August and saying, can you do it for the next 5 months? Those are two different things. So it is surprised me if he didn't keep himself in shape and I'll be interested to see if there are TMZ photos in May and June and I have working out at some high school and with his helmet on and everything else because I do think I don't know that that thing in the back of his head that he is not done. Like I don't know that's gone away at Albert, thanks for the time greatly appreciate it and just in time Michigan blew a 13 point halftime lead and got bounced by Indiana. Congratulations. It is indeed. Are you guys out then? Do you think I don't know if it's still enough? Don't know, man. But it literally just ended. And thankfully, though, the handshake is going without incident. And that's the best part about it. I'm sure you're happy to be talking to me at a time like this. Do you know what Albert, good luck to you along the way? Thanks for the time. Greatly appreciate your brother. Good to see you at the combo. That's Albert breer here, everybody on the rich Johnson show. So before that loss, Joe linard, tomorrow's guest, raccoon. Cowboys Defensive End DeMarcus Lawrence Will Miss 6-8 Weeks With Broken Foot

"Going on with the cowboys. Upfront what can you tell me about. Tank lawrence randy gregory. Big game for the cowboys here in los angeles against the chargers. What do you know about that. Yeah so i. I think like the you know demarcus lawrence obviously. That's a really unfortunate break for them. And he's had injuries in the past. And i i don't know if i'd relates that because there's a foot thing and it's sort of a free thing but he's going to be gone for two months and that like to me. I just sort of looking at how patchwork they've been and they'll get gregory back but like like you know with randy gregory and then over the years taking swings on different guys like alden smith and and and and You know and and if you want to go further back hardy And how they've just sort of continuous roll the dice try and get those positions right And lawrence was the one that they really hit on and now he's out for two months and you know. I think the cowboys defensively did a lot of things well in the opener but the fact is such a big part of the way that defense worked and i worked and i think dan coins a fantastic defensive coordinator but a big part of how the defense works seattle type of defense works is. Can you get heat on the pass or can you come from multiple angles quarterback and lawrence is one of those guys when he's at his best. He changes the math for everybody else. He's gonna change the matchups. He's going to get more guys singled up or guys are going to be favourable spa favorable spot because of him. So now you take them out of the equation and i think it's a big big loss for the cowboys.

"Calls forthcoming best and worst to the weekend. What you saw that you liked. You didn't like. I did tune into the nebraska illinois game. If you're scott frost a you lose illinois national tv you sort of own the weekend with the least saturday college football here. It is first game and it's no brassica you lose to illinois boy not that. You're season's done in august but boy as a tough way to start a hot seat in august. Yeah no let's bring in albert breer. Monday morning quarterback joining us on the program. And i just saw where albert breer is reporting that the bears will entertain trade offers for quarterback. Nick foles albert joins us. Now what do you think about that. Where do you think. Nick foles could end up. Well i think it's just sort of hard because of the money But he's been a really good soldier for them and so i think they're going to kinda follow his lead here. I do think at one point. The jets had some interest in in bringing a man and obviously joe douglas. The general manager in new york was in philadelphia with foale's understands what false could be in for a young quarterback. There was some level of interest. I don't know how much interest falls would having going to new york right now and i don't think the bears are going to put foles situation. He doesn't want to be in loyalty. Because again foles. Vanna good soldier in dealing with the drafting of justin fields and dealing with the signing of andy dalton and not getting very many reps in the spring and then camp. I think they're going to either not follow his lead but at least seek sign off on whatever happened. So it's gonna take somebody wanting to wanting to pick up the contract number one. The number to the bears are going to do it unless it's something falls wants to do. What about dallas for nick. Foles make some sense. I mean garrett gilbert i think would be the number two there right now and yeah i mean. There's nobody that knows better than the cowboys. Look at happen to your season. If you lose your quarterback and you look at obviously two thousand fifteen. When tony romo got hurt in a really really loaded rauch the whole thing fell apart and then of course what happened last year Yeah i i think the cowboys would be one team that you would look at it and say could have an interest if the money works out could have an interest and of course. Nick foles being from texas. There was a connection there. I know that jerry jones came recently. Was you know very abusive. Talking about tony. Romo his mind first ballot hall of famer..

Eight four four zero four rich number to dial always a pleasure having him on One of the best in the business is m. qb. The qb is a must read every single. Monday here. On a friday before the bulk of preseason week number two twenty twenty one is none other than albert. How are you. Albert was good to get a refresher on the lyrics to the victors there. Since you don't hear that song very much when they play on though you know armored. It's all good in the hood man. It's all good Let me just jump in with that. One real quick. I had herbstreet on earlier this week. And my suggestion that You know. I know that the big ten in the acc and the Pac twelve or all of reportedly talking and very close to announcing their own formation of some sort of relationship. is coming but is there a that ohio state my my is repealed on ohio state and clemson because if they peel off To join the sec that would be. Maybe the final blow to anybody who thinks traditionally that this construct of college. Football's gonna stay put albert. What are you here. And i'll be honest with you richard. I mean you know that might be good for you. Know my school's football program. But i i'd hate to see that i mean i. I think one of the beautiful things about college. Football is how history goes back. I mean it's and a lot of cases the histories rivalries older than the nfl. You know what i mean like. It's older than pro football and You know like so i. I think you know the nature of the sport. Outside of maybe notre dame it's pretty regional and a lot of this stuff goes back to you know our grandfathers and great grandfathers and so You know i i. I can understand what they're trying to do here. And i think that there was i and look. I get 'em cover college football today. Herbie be much better. Answer this the me but You know it feels like we've been going and we've been kind of like building towards there being whatever it is like fifty five or sixty schools that you could have the power to separate from the ncaa kind of be their own thing I'd hate to see that. Be twenty schools. You know what i mean. Like i just i think like having at least a possibility. You know out there that like a you know like an oregon becomes what oregon's become wisconsin's become whatever wisconsin's become like. I love that stuff. You know what i mean like so i mean even like lsu. Like i remember when i was a kid. They weren't that good. You know what i mean. The nick sabin got there now. They're like a powerhouse. You know it's just part of the duty. College football is like the regional nature of it. And you know the fact that sometimes we get these teams. These schools traditionally aren't great. That can come up and become those sorts of those pro- those sorts of programs and so it really sucks lose that. I think you'd probably agree with me on no doubt. Of course there's no question about it but that's the way it's going and have you spoken to anybody in the league about What what potential superleague at the collegiate level where money is now being pumped in name image and likeness To certain players to the tune of seven figures and how that will work with people eligible for the next level. And i i know i know agents have already been given the green light by the players association to start doing name. Image and likeness deals on behalf of the collegiate player. Now right yeah which is crazy like the rule actually like the rule actually reads now that they can enter into marketing agreements. The players now. They can't like signed deals. That says you're going to be like representation contracts in the nfl. But i mean we all know what that is right like. I mean if you're signing with a guy to to be your marketing on. I l. stuff like well that agents getting involved there because he thinks he's going to be your nfl agent to So you know. I think the breaks down some of the wall that you know. I think we're probably some cases imaginary to be you know like i think we all know what happens with age in college players anyway. So maybe it formalizes that a little bit i. i do think that there's actually a benefit for the nfl. Here though in that you know in a lot of cases guys feel pressure to go pro as early as they can and a lotta times because a guy has to. I mean support. His family like a guy. A guy's entire family might counting on him to change the dynamic. You know in their lives. And i you know i wanted to kind kinda come up wasn't come up repeatedly you know and i've talked to guys who you know Scout that level of football is the hope here is that maybe what we'll see now is what these guys having an ability to make money at the college level the junior who probably needs another year but might feel pressure to go and then winds up getting drafted in the seventh round. Maybe that guy stays in school an extra year and that's good for the player. That's good for the nfl teams. That's good for everybody. You know and so i think that there are some like you said there are some thorny this the whole thing of course these anytime. You pump money into anything. That's you know. There's going to be that sort of stuff. But i do. There's a real benefit here and that it might wind up. You know getting kids from tough backgrounds money earlier and then maybe more of those kids you know wind up being able to make more coherent decisions about whether or not to go in the nfl and maybe a few more of those kids walk away with college degrees as a result of that even if the nfl doesn't work out so i think that there's a real benefit to all this and that you know the guys the kids who are under a lot of pressure to make money because they come from tough backgrounds now being able to do that at the college level. I think takes a little pressure off those kids far as making decisions. I wanted to go to the nfl interesting. The whole world isn't going to complete crap both allard writing nice. That's a nice Positively right there. Albert breer going A break here right here on the richeisenshow so Your tours of training camp who were able to visit Gimme some under the radar something. We're not talking about some story that you saw some person coach or player That you think is on the launching pad for success. What do you have for me on that front Under the radar..

Statistically but if you're talking about a team that could compete for the number one overall pick in the draft with the texans. It's the eagles man i mean. Look again i get it. It's the pre season but they don't have a lot of talent. They seem to not even know what kind of direction they want to go in there. You know they want to be in it for shawn watson becomes available. "Palo sarah. The nfl network said that the feeling within the coaches subcommittee is officials have gotten lax players going face to face standing over people pointing fingers etc. They won't focus so much on touchdown celebrations in this regard. But expect more flags to be thrown. Let's start there with albert breer these senior. Nfl reporter for the monday morning quarterback he's been at the steelers. Vikings packers bears lions colds. browns bengals niners cardinals chargers. Cowboys rams raiders camps. I should have just said the camps. You haven't been at. That might have been quicker there. This feels like it came out of nowhere that we're now enforcing the taunting rule here. Why well it's not that unusual. I think normally this time of year dan. They'll put out this video. This video actually gets played for all the players within the thirty two teams. It's the fact that we have this This this rule clarification or emphasis. That sort of thing happens every year. And i think it's probably just to tom. There reported to tone down. Some of the i guess computations on the field that come from these sorts of things and we saw it in the super bowl. You know taryn matthew and tom brady got after each other antoine winfield and And tyreek y'all got after each other and so you know i might. My guess would be. And i digging. I need to dig into this a little bit more but my guess would be Because they've loosened the rules on touchdown celebrations that maybe they feel like that sort of spilled over into celebrations of other plays or taunting. And maybe they wanna take care of that It's an emotional game. So i like i think you have to let go. But my guess would be. The coaches here would probably be looking to try to avoid the sort of confrontations that we saw the super bowl confrontations. I like to. I'm all for them but I mean like it's good for the drama. I mean that's what we're watching. This is soap opera for guys right. If it's football is yes. I like when it's not scripted. I like when you get true. Emotion and using the nfl plays to the fans. Like what are the fans upset about. What are the fans want. It feels like they acquiesced. I don't know if there was this outcry from the fans saying we're tired of seeing taunting the coaches might feel like i've already got enough to manage. I don't want to manage my players behavior. That's my guess right. You've got enough problems out here fair. I don't wanna have to be getting on. You know my rookie defensive. Back in winfield forgiving tyreek hill with you now. Any other rule changes that happened. That maybe weren't on the front burner now. I'm just trying to think of like the. I mean you know one that one to me that i it's a bigger deal than people realize. Is that the outlawed cut blocking outside of the tackle box. And i don't think people recognize how common that is like outside zone runs and then almost every screen path. How many screens have you seen. Where there isn't someone alignment cutting a linebacker a cutting defensive bat. You know now if you eliminate some of that could wind up having a sneaky big impact just because the way those things are taught you know and look. I think the players are going to applaud this. Because you know what every defensive player would tell you've been protecting the authentic players forever and here. We are people going after our knees. You know we have like stuff happening on underneath pile. And i think defense players would applaud this but it's just as far as the flow. The game one that i think slipped into the radar a little bit. This off season will be that one the further outlawing of walking which i again i think is going to have an effect on outside runs. I think is going to have a big effect on screens. Maybe it's not the sexiest thing in the world. But i think there will be an impact there. The athletic had a column the twenty five most intriguing players for the 2021 nfl season and even though this player who wasn't on the list might not have a big impact on the regular season. I don't know if there's a player under a more watchful eye than jordan love because now he's going to play all these preseason games now we get to see just how good he is and what that means for the future. If you're a packer fan and you see progress there you might not be holding on for life to aaron rodgers that you might realize we do have something here or oh my god. We got to hold onto aaron rodgers. Is there somebody who's more intriguing in the then jordan love in europe. Also think about this. Dan right so last year. No a no many camp. They get the training camp and really every coaches in the mode where we only have enough practice. Time to get our starters. Ready right backups. Don't really backup quarterbacks. Don't really run the offense during the season so jordan. Love wasn't getting a lot of reps in the summer because they're getting aaron rodgers. Ready didn't wasn't able to run the packers offense much in the fall because he's running the scout team and then they get to the spring and i had a coach there telling me that if they ran three hundred reps in. Ota's this is just like a guesstimate. They ran three hundred reps for the offense jordan. Love to two hundred seventy of that so that no. That's that's across the first and second all those guys so you had this guy from getting almost no reps. And they didn't feel like he was ready at all coming out of last year which is one of the reasons why they were so adamant about holding onto aaron rodgers and then they had him drinking out of a fire hose in essence with rogers gone in the spring. So this is. I'm with you. This is going to be fascinating seeing how he looks and without question. You know this position that packers are in after this year. Or they're going to have aaron rodgers going into a contract year and they're going to have to make decisions on what to do with him and he could refuse to sign a deal could be forced to trade them. They could extend him all of that. I think is colored by what happens with jordan love and the packers have spent the last three or four months trying to get like progress from jordan love. And now i think with these games. They're going to be looking to get answers. On what jordan love is and i think again like that could have a massive impact on the way that they approach next february march. The worst backup quarterback situation is which team jets. Maybe you know. I like how about team james. Morgan is the biggest the jets but a competitive team a competitive team If i was the rams i wouldn't feel tremendous about what they've got behind matthew stafford. Are you competent with the cowboys. Behind the one though. Yeah i mean you look at nucci. Yeah if i was the cowboys like you combine the fact that has coming off an injury and you don't have much behind him and you didn't replace andy dalton and yeah i mean. I think the cowboys are right. There is at least the rams played their backup last year. I mean ben to nucci got snaps. But i think having a problem without taking a look at every single one of them individually the cold and the cowboys are there the colts. Yes jacob but the thing is.

"Now you are the commissioner of baseball. Make you commissioner of baseball right here right. now start off what. What do you do nothing that anyone would obliged. Why would you say that Because they're not gonna like mind is replace over why who cares because if you see it at home you need to use it right. Why why do we have a balls and strike umpire. What do we need that we can easily do that with. Gps why is he there. Well why give them then about happened. They're not actually have a robot a robotic value to charm. my friend there is value to ignore. Okay so replays gone. Allies gone do like replay designated hitter has gone so why. Why is this not baseball. The one of the essential one of the great principles of baseball's democracy of talent and physique. This is what makes baseball very special bride democracy of talent and physique. Everybody plays plays it. Okay everybody right. Shortstop the slugging Leftfielder they're all everyone's welcome bright it's democracy f- in pitchers hit homers. Sometimes that's true. Now that's true. I mean that the moment bartolo cologne yard was like i should have been a national holiday. I should should. We have gotten rid of that but people can't accept perfection. That's the problem with human beings can't go. This is fine leaving allowed right. We got one decent thing. Just leave it alone. So why can't you have a designated one league in one in the other league nine against nine everybody on the field plays the game and the game is you hit the ball and you catch the ball. That's the game and internal specialization right. Okay let's put up a different hitter in this situation now. Everybody that guy. You're not you're not in the field you don't get to hit period. So we're we're we're we're got rid of instant replay replay as they were gonna third. You gotta what do you think of. Just the intentional walk. Just you go to i now. Now don't like that either by it's fine..

"When we get to training camp which. La team is more interesting. That's a great question. I i'm on the matthew stafford bandwagon. Dan like i. I think i think the general public has a much like much lower opinion of him than people in football. Have i think if you talked to scouts. If you talked to coaches they think this guy is outstanding. Like and the idea of putting him in. Sean mcveigh's offense and we can argue about like the way the rams are set up and how they don't have any first round picks until five years from now and all that different stuff. But the idea of sean mcveigh with matthew stafford. Right now today. Throwing the robert woods and cooper cup and having camakers behind him and you know on the other side defense with aaron donald jalen ramsey. I think it's fascinating. And so like i wouldn't be surprised if matthew staffers the mvp leak. And so i give the slight edge the rams but like what brandon staley's walking into with the chargers is awfully interesting too so i think you know the first year of that stadium actually able to fans in it and all the rest of it and the super bowl being there now. I think both those teams have a chance to be really really good. The rams a super bowl contender. I don't think the charge quite there yet. But there's talent on that roster. Dan i mean you know. It's not just justin herbert. If you know mike williams and and joey bosa and derwin. James and and young guys like kenneth murray like that's a. It's a really good team. And so i'd say rams legitimate super bowl aspirations chargers i think i think the chargers maybe more of a pain in the ass for the chiefs than anyone else in their division. Put it that way open invitation. Join us on a meet. Friday their number two. I'm gonna try to make it down there. i think it's about to our drought. Maybe when i'm on my way to new york in the fall. How are you guys from the train station. Pretty close pretty close. We can pick you up in fact you can. Even you can even make a request to what you want on the menu. There you go there you go big smoker guy too. So i'm gonna. I gotta hit pearl off and make sure he sends me pictures of whatever comes out of all that later thank you. Albert is always have a great weekend. I didn't that's albert breer senior. Nfl reporter monday morning quarterback couple of phone calls. Then we'll take a break dakota in iowa ada coda what's on your mind. Hey what's up. Vp monday or first time caller. I don't know if it says more about my life or your show but this is one of my favorite parts of the day for sure My question was about While heard you. Bring up shawn watson. And i'm i'm a big in bronco fan. My question was Have you heard anything. So i saw something about He was talking to I forgot who it was kareem jackson or ended the interview with him and said he wanted to denver if he ended up in denver. Dc denver's a super bowl contender. It depends on what you have to give up. Thank you to dakota. And i don't know how long he's going to have to sit out. I know that adam schefter floated this out here. He wasn't reporting this. He just said keep an eye on this and he brought up the philadelphia. Eagles will the eagles do have some draft picks that they can traded the texans. They could trade. Jalen hurts to the texans that to me could make a lot of sense. The question is when do you get him. What are you give up. And if you're the texans it's not like you can play him and his value goes up you just his value goes up when you know he's available and right now you don't know when he's going to be available if he's going to be available piece on the commissioner's exempt list. If this case is never resolved here in the next six months mike. I haven't heard any updates on any of this with any kind of settlement here. But he's still going to be punished by the nfl. And if you're trading for him what would you want to do. I'm sure into shawn watson is on record saying he'd be intrigued by denver. I he'd be intrigued to go anywhere right now. He's got to get away from the texans and vice versa. mclovin. I have a completely nonsensical against the grain. Reason why i think the broncos are sleeping giant okay then we should take a break because we have to collect our breaths here. We we got let america plan their day. I mean colorado springs right. Now there's a traffic jam. People stuck in their cars waiting to hear this durango durango. Right now is at a standstill. Because they wanna know what mclovin is going to say about the broncos. Are the Kansas City Chiefs Going To Land Julio Jones?

"Let's talk. julio jones my friend. Because i mean look it's a long shot i'm going to say it oddsmakers think it's a long shot. The chiefs are thirty. Three to one odds to land. Julio jones in a trade which is way longer odds than many many other teams. So las vegas does not think. Julio jones is going to land in kansas city but julio jones is gonna land somewhere and it sounds like it's not in philadelphia this year. Where are you at all this. I'll say this vegas didn't think phil mickelson was going to win this as last major. Guess what a that happened. So i don't know where julio jones is gonna land. I do think. Kansas city actually makes sense. I'm surprised vegas hasn't bumped it up a little bit as based on the past knowledge of how aggressive brett. Vh is the fact that julio jones said he wants to play for a winner he wants to play for a contender. You sit basically said give me the hell out of atlanta. You know If you wanna play for winter you wanna play for a contender. You wanna play for a good quarterback now you kate. A city checks all those boxes. You have a hall of fame coach. Andy reid i would. I would think that those numbers would be higher. What are your thoughts on this. Well let me kick it back to you with this. Albert breer reported today that basically that would probably take second round. Pick to get julio jones. Now that's it like. I think it sounds good on paper. Yeah i think it sounds good on paper to julio jones. i'm probably in the conservative camp of. I think the chiefs are already more loaded than any other team out there. They've already gotten their the last two years. I don't care what the bills in the browns have done. The chiefs are gonna make mincemeat of them. Whatever they play so. I don't know that we need julio jones so so you know to me. I'd rather keep that second round pick

Antonio Brown accused of rape in civil lawsuit

"New patriots receiver Antonio brown is accused of sexually assaulting his former trainer according to a lawsuit filed by the woman in Florida on Tuesday Britney Taylor who says she met brown while they were in college at central Michigan is accusing him of three incidents of assault in twenty seventeen and twenty eighteen including an alleged rape ESPN analyst Ryan Smith notes it's a civil suit well it's interesting I'm glad you mentioned that because it's not as if we're talking about a prison situation anything like this is simply a claim that Antonio brown sexually assaulted this woman and that she is asking for money damages now when you look at a case like this. the standard of proof preponderance of enough of the evidence meaning it's more likely than not that based on the evidence the conduct that she alleges occurred much lower standards so if this ends up in a civil court and this actually goes to proceeding it just moves forward then you've got sort he's saying one thing she's saying something else and a jury has to decide basically who they think is telling the truth. brown's attorney saying brown denies all the allegations so the two had a consensual personal relationship right of course was officially signed by the patriots Monday. after he was being but he was released by the raiders is scheduled to practice for the first time with doing one on Wednesday earlier on Freddie inferred Simmons Albert Breer from VMM QB we start off already know we at all one. I wonder if they're interesting about that yeah I don't know how close you got that you know what I want for it on the internet the last couple of days and so yeah. I have some knowledge of it there over the weekend which you know certainly I think. an interesting interesting cluster of medication you more and that's why we work for what that. I don't know why. yeah server if you don't like what the stars while the figure out how much do teams know about things like these accusations and I want to stress the word accusations I'm sorry what the upper structure looks like my mom came out. your department better you know all. federal agents former state top. most teams take it upon themselves to have. look local a lot of that stuff is you know all that stuff is sort of. yeah. during business you know like you know how local police figure for your game the knowledge so you can have a relationship law enforcement that are pretty deep usually and so if you want to investigate a player before you sign up before you trade form early other mechanisms to do that and on top of that you know you've got the league security department I'll let you guys know about that but I mean every NFL city the week yeah security officers on retainer and those guys are saying things almost double agents former speaker box. pretty vast network of people been internal how law enforcement that are so it would be out about the usually. out of fear to get information of the public still allows us to get players no worries that maybe a normal business. and I know a lot of players you know we'll go to a concert for the gun. our logo on it night and and they'll be aware. you know and so you know I always sure rolling. yeah. normally they're pretty good idea last did not consult. what's going on here they normally have a pretty extensive network of people that can help us find stuff out. according to ESPN's Adam Schefter the patriots were caught by surprise the team will have to decide how to proceed with a baby who was scheduled to practice on Wednesday patriots releasing a statement Tuesday night which said in part. the league has informed us they will be investigating official word from the NFL but it was included in the patriots

"albert breer" Discussed on The MMQB: 10 Things

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for being with us all this week. Keepings off here on Friday by explaining primary similarity between pages how that similarity when eighteen season then Kenny come into breakdown, the news, and as always wrap things up six put a bunch and was. Welcome back in the QB podcast with Albert breer. I'd say take to take three we've had all kinds of technical issues this week because I'm charge of producing the five cast, and that is problematic when we're so far away from home. We finally have it fixed. I think as long as if you're listening to this. We haven't fixed I'm gonna leave things off here just explaining what are the commonalities between the two teams that are playing here and they're going to the Super Bowl in Atlanta on Sunday. And the main thing I think that sort of becomes the theme for the twenty thousand season than that ties. These teams together it's open mindedness ability to switch what you are on on week tweet base almost on a day-to-day basis it's flexibility. And I think we've seen that from both these teams and go all the way back to being in Chicago at the beginning of. They can't before anybody else. And some of the ideas that Matt Nagy was bringing to the table. And remember I'm telling me when he was watching college players now have to to legal has one raise taking down notes on the players. The other were stealing plays and fast forward to the season. I remember talking to Sean Payton about how he'd still plays from Sean McVay went back shopping as you said. Yeah, I do the same thing in taking from Sean Payton. And both those guys said doing was on their watch list teams that they watch every Monday morning. And so you see an open mindedness, you see almost humility in what they're doing. And I think we've seen it across the NFL in two thousand eighteen everywhere. It's all over the place in the NFL. And it's just I think when I see it on Sunday to in that both teams and bring Connor and Jenny and my apologies again for all the back and forth and record in the podcast this week. And I'm sorry to everybody out there. We didn't get this out until Friday morning, rather. There's an open mindedness. Both these teams think something to be cited about on Sunday because there's a chance that these two teams bring something table. We haven't seen yet. And there's a good chance that Belgian throw something McVay that McVay as seen yet. And may throw something that Bilgic hasn't seen yet. That's so cool about this. That's what makes emblematic of the season. General so much of the season was about offense of engine newly. And that's the offense of explosion early in the year passing yards through the roof everything else. But I think as much as anything else about being open minded out, new ideas. And both of these teams, I think are the forefront. Now, the Rams are there. Now McVay as coach of the patriots have been there for a long time. Yeah. I mean, I think you know, this is kind of one of the intriguing match-ups. I mean, I think any of the four remaining teams in the championship Browns. I think would have made for a similar thing. Like be like you mentioned at the top. These are the fourteen that, you know, stand out among the most, you know, willing to sample from other places. I think what we'll also be interesting. To see Bella checks defensive-minded head coach. So what does he have for the Super Bowl? What innovation you know? Or you know approach will have for the Rams offense. Will he do? Anything different is their time to do anything different. A lot about unskilled looks Sunday. Yeah. Just to set the stage for everybody Jenny sharing a microphone, which makes us sort of like the Supremes in this guy deal. Melvin I guess is Diana Ross in this scenario point everybody on here. We have this new contraption that showed up to to just can't suspend Tanna..
