A Former Nurse Discusses Restrictions As An Assisted Living Resident
"Ninety five year old Virginia Chandler is leading pretty active life in her assisted living facility in Albany Oregon until the crown of Irish shut everything down three months on restrictions are beginning to loosen and miss Chandler can now have visitors she couldn't even leave to run errands just get permission first that annoys her but as a former nurse Virginia Chandler understands what the lock down was necessary she told us about the restrictions under which she lives we see almost anyone as long as we stay six feet away from them we cannot go to another area for instance my friend is very ill they don't believe that she will live much longer I would love to go visit her but I can't and this isn't just from Mike Miller lite home this is true by the state I mean this is laid down the rules and then we're to follow what they want done and by the way ever governor has a different idea and different way of handling it some are opening their doors to everything and anything and that's not why it's either yeah so do you take your meals with friends yes but we can only one at the table one of the table so we say hello teacher yeah as you as you may have heard about more than twenty five percent of the people who have died from corona virus are in nursing homes and assisted care facilities yeah do you feel safe I feel safest for hence the people here they're very good so you're not worried about the coronavirus I am concerned from different standpoints I'm ninety five in December and so I am ready for the end of my life and prepared for I am concerned that bad of people well and I hope that our country begins to look at what is happening economic only medically emotionally emotions is the big problem right now because we've been locked up and down for such a long time and if we want to go like say to a picnic for instance one of my great granddaughter since graduating from high school I'd love to go there her graduation I'd love to go to her home for a party afterwards but I'm not going to be able to yeah well you know the experts say those restrictions are for your own safety yes of course yeah but that's for your physical and we're not made up of just the physical we're made up of the motion psychological ways of expressing ourselves so we're not an animal of physical side alone yeah sounds like a tough way to live but that you're very tough in your mind to well yes it's very hard to get up at the beginning of the day and know that you're not going to do anything except eat or watch something on TV and so it makes for a long day and once you've gone through months like we have and continue to look like we will it looks like a never ending plague it's not pleasant I wish I could say something of her of comfort but you wouldn't be fooled by that would you no nobody can fool somebody who's ninety five years old now yes Virginia Chandler a retired nurse who's an assisted living resident in Albany Oregon thanks so much for being

"If your holiday travels take you south you may want to make a stop in Oregon for some stress relief come was bright Calvert discovers a very colorful way to work out your aggressions from the gate Laura Ellis knew she was onto something is actually the first of its kind in the U. S. business is called the splatter box most of my clientele from out of state I've had people from Alberta Canada Phoenix Arizona just everywhere command the splitter boxes a large black lit room in downtown Albany Oregon where you put on a little safety gear then you're allowed to work out any and all aggression by throwing paint yeah just or even just like we have company and presses everyone obviously because goggles because we don't want anything and eyes that they can just sort of go to town and this is you know just an area where you can see each other it's like goes everywhere and underneath the black lights glow clients of the splatter box throw paints in each other's splattered on the walls he would write messages of peace when their anger has finally dissipated when your session of throwing paint ends the room and you get hosed down you see all this pain comes off with water leaving no evidence of the stress relief you just work through I trade market I looked around I haven't found anything like it the current market cornered so if you plan your drive south this holiday season consider a pit stop in Albany whether you're on your way to or from grandma's house a little color might just be the pressure release you need

"Sean Reilly in Albany, Oregon, Sean the sun is coming up on seventeenth birthday. And are tuned in almost every night. Well, the first report I'd like to start with is from hickory North Carolina the seventeenth Monday of this week. Gentlemen, writes that he was standing outside looking at the night sky is that's the way most UFO reports start, of course. And he saw an orange object orange light spinning and pulsing descending vertically as it got to its parody its lowest point it stopped and paused for a moment, and then started moving laterally parallel to the horizon and just disappeared in the night sky ran to get his wife, but by the time they got back. The object was gone. Second report comes from also from North Carolina. This one from oak island, the next night the eighteenth. I think that's two nights ago that on Tuesday of this week husband and wife, I standing outside and their attention was drawn to a cluster of white lights. They estimated at least ten or a dozen moving in a very complex fashion. Sometimes as a group sometimes individually, and it's a very complex citing. I won't take time tonight to try to describe it George, but it's well worth reading we should have it posted soon super shortly after the sighting of the white lights about the size of SARS. The husband and wife saw several orange lights that split into six separate orange objects. Looking forward to having that posted very interesting report third report comes from Saint Augustine, Florida woman reports seen a very. Very bright white flash of light followed by a green light below it. And I mentioned this case because within two minutes. Very similar report from Holden, North Carolina. Takes us back to that state for a moment person saw green object streak at least covering thirty degrees of the horizon. And he quite properly allows for the possibility that it may have been a meteor. But he says it was way too large to be a meteor, and he sought for fifteen seconds, which is a long long time for even for a dramatic meteor last couple of reports I'd like to touch on one comes from granite Ville, Vermont two witnesses saw two red lights that were hovering below cloud level. They suddenly accelerated to the right and disappeared very very rapidly. Skip the last one Georgia and save until next week. But I'd like to enclosing just wish everybody a merry Christmas and a happy new year to you your staff, and of course, to the coast listeners, and we'll see some time. Next week. Absolutely. Thank you, Peter. You have a great Christmas yourself, and we'll talk with you right after Christmas and enjoy the holiday, my friend. A new discovery in Egypt by Dr Carmen Boulter back with us. We're going to talk about something that just may knock you off your chair next on coast to coast AM..

Old discussion about kids and the proper way, to raise, of that of course goes all the way back to Leonard Bernstein and west side story so suffice it to say Catherine Lewis we've had this discussion for a long time absolutely, and one of, the questions I get a lot is the. Things that I did or my parents are my grandparents said they work then why don't they, seem to work now and, that's? Really the core of what I was trying to explore in my book is why. Are things so different now there, are different I, think because we've let them become different there's nothing inherent about the problems of the, twenty first century or, even the digital age we we've let. Them become different right our culture has kids are not genetically, different from what you and I were right. The culture has shifted so much and you know, every, educator I interviewed for this book who'd been teaching. More than ten years said the kids start kindergarten less able to sit. Still control themselves they wanted adult to come, in and, intervene in their conflicts and so There's something going on really really early in their lives, where they're not getting, that experience to learn how to control. Themselves here's a call from dot in Albany Oregon on the. Jim Bohannon We're fine thank you, doing good myself I just do put it mildly my childhood was certainly no vacation at Club. "Saying comrades Marks we love you Not so. Much welcome in everyone the Jim Bohannon show tongue-in-cheek. Toward the great Putin you heard Andy McCarthy and the president saying that to, Sean Hannity tonight That Putin was very very very. Strong in denying the meddling and all that so who are you believing Or the president's own appointee national intelligence adviser coats Dan Coats not the deep state it's not. The Obama. People that were put in and you know there are those operatives trying to bring Trump down all true but these are some of his own, folks, and they're saying there's no doubt the Russians were. Trying to do this stuff Doesn't mean they were effective It certainly does it mean that that won the election for President Trump But it means that Putin is a pathologic beyond a pathological liar So why are we throwing into question The intelligence operation. Appointed by the president by and, large. Let's, go. To Don in Albany Oregon hey. Don. Welcome to. The Jim Bohannon show thanks good evening From what I gather from the news there are plenty. "Reporter and camera crew were other independent witnesses who saw all of this occur and talk to hear deputies that evening a here sheriff's deputy who are you it noted wound up citing mr jan forty four misdemeanor assault it to don in albany oregon uh the jim bohannon show with data enabling over yes i agree rhetoric nathan i've gotten quite clear iran one thing without cracker kerber different liberal talk show some degree iraq tournament apart government oh okay oh if you wish us to respond to that is that the bear very good i would not disagree for one moment that a political talk radio or television in this country which has i made the some contributions to the the gross national discourse has certainly had to do to pay people in the grotesque caricatures and the and the frequently uh did said the tactic of the only questioning somebody's policies which is fair game but in questioning their motives and that if i might that you will further fuel the rhetoric and the business in our political and ideological environment the we living today and i think a very clear distinction needs to be made between what i call opinion media and journalism journalism meaning actual down the middle reporters who strive their best to determine the facts and report them to the public on the public's path they they attempt to do their job in a fair way and attempt not to get into the opinion business unlike those a talk show host and others that engage in an opinion media i bet at largely fuelled us rhetoric to tell the charleston west virginia the mortgage the charged with thank you so much for uh covering a topic i want to say i am in their mind pana because it was a new crew pregnant okay different from what all relate to you from nineteen seventy eight iran a fulltime and parttime or only part they were reporter general assignment politic okay i got slammed flap wherever you call it a sore the about seven times three of them were by people the other four times were by people who held public office either appointed civil service or elected did you ever issue formal.
