"I'm wound up great colors. I always get great colors, but John was pretty good, though. You know, that's the thing. People. If your if your kids had kids and you raise your kid, right, and they're raising their kid to be an idiot, hopefully of enough respect we have my mom would have said. You know? I don't think I would let you do that. Why are you letting her do that? And you know, I love my mom so much. I'm like you know what? You're right, Mom. But so many film on mind your own business know Mom's been their mom's done that Dad's been their dad's done that So if you're raising your kid to be, you know, time out. No, no, it doesn't work and he doesn't get a trophy. I wanted to be a fullback. I've said it's 1000 times. And guess what Little Danny got put on the line because little Danny couldn't run the ball. My buddy Mark Thompson was the best one. The best fullbacks. I played with back in my Albany high school days and I will tell you this. He deserved to be the full back and there's no way I could have been pulled back. I need to be a left guard because my oldest brother was left guard. My middle brother left guard and guess who's left? Guard me. The only thing that bothered me is a left side. I want to be right wing so I would have been right guard because I had a lord. The L on my name to think about that. I'm not a lefty, anyway to go back to phone lines. That's good. Roy called 61. 42 under the TV and Good Morning, Roy. How are you, Brother? Fine time for a day and tell you my call us Lord or two and I get upset, but looks like he's coming. But.

"You too Jody is a graduate of Albany high I progress Jewett of Albany high school yet but we're not going to say what year it wouldn't be proper etiquette what it exactly you don't you do a lot I mean you you will you consult with corporations and people in general I mean all about etiquette and things along that we talked about a lot of different things over the years but I'm just wondering now the way things are going anymore in a in a business for anywhere people are sort of a like for example if you want to play for the Yankees you have to cut your beard okay but other team okay don't seem to have any rules at all they let him come as they want so I'm afraid our business is getting to the point where they're afraid to on demand a little more etiquette and respect amongst their employees are they afraid they're going to get in trouble for something it's interesting because we had to really a little bit of the wild west of etiquette especially the technology in cell phones and social media but what we're seeing is the pendulum is really starting to swing back and companies are getting a hold of what they want their corporate culture to be so you'll still find some places that are fine with also June bugs beards and had to use the people walking barefoot in the hallways but then the other ones are saying you know that doesn't fit our business model and we're going to take things back a little bit so the pendulum swung one way way way way way out and now it's starting to swing back so there's a place for everybody but not everybody's going to the into the corporate culture of every place anymore I see and I think that I think that's going to be I I somehow and I'm you know I know things have changed or modern more modern now know everything but it's just seems like the I don't know there were etiquette in respect yours getting sort of lost and pushed away because people are afraid to encounter other people and say no you can't do that you can't do that here and you know yeah it's interesting that you say that because there was a duality that what's happening along the way so I think it was being used as a storage to keep people Dowling we we had a little bit of a a pricing is the wrong word but we had a little bit of a reach think of how we do things and now were much more inclusive which is a good thing and were much more are respectful of other people's individuality which is a good yes yes but along the way we throughout the respect part and now we're bringing that respect part it's not okay there are times that parents need to tell the children that will you may not do that there are times that employers need to be able to tell employees that's not acceptable and we're seeing that happening again now and I can remember there was a generation there that with the damn member of my neighbors said we want this she moved away awhile ago but she said we don't say no to our son he was in the process of pushing our brand new screen in our new screen door in when I had to say no don't do that and she's sort of was offended by that and I think the fact the kids were growing up that way by not having somebody got presented with some discipline and structure and say no you can't do that that's not really what you want to do here but it didn't work that way and they were letting them get away with things that they felt well is they got older they could do the same thing I I'm getting out my soapbox because you actually hit upon the team that I'm going to have in twenty twenty which is there was a a generation of parents who thought we're never gonna tell our children that were simply go to distract those are pushing out our neighbor Joe screen instead of saying no you can't push out the screen okay look at this twenty over here all right and what happened is that we see an entire generation going into school with all sorts of learning issues executive processing issues and inability to focus on anything for more than three seconds if the teacher isn't singing dancing and sending their hair on fire anybody who is the new parents out there I hope that you're listening and please take a wide perspective and the child being in parenting blogs that you happen to be reading read some of the things that she shares are posting your child's ability to be bored they do not need to be entertained every second of the day so if you're going grocery shopping do not hang on the child your smartphone with a cartoon on it and let them watch that while you're shopping it's important for them to be looking around to seeing colors to be able to focus their eyeing unvarying distances and for you to talk to them simple I contacting conversation between care givers and children is showing up as a huge problem when the children get to school and have an inability to make friends and have an inability to pay attention and have lived in ability to empathize all of those things that become problems with manners and etiquette that you had a request right right that's absolutely it do you think I mean this is great and I'm glad you say this pendulous all coming back do you think we're gonna be able to get this point at through because these kids are are so into their technology now that you know you know like we've talked before about this rate even at parties and gatherings or just on their phones they're so into themselves and what they've got it you think we're going to get through to them and say look you this is the way it used to be in this is the way it really still should be well I I think that there are a group of people out there that will listen but I will tell you that when I started my business twenty four years ago I was teaching polishing all the basic social skills nowadays I'm going in and teaching them basic social skills I'm teaching people who are graduating from college how to have a conversation with another person and using eye contact twenty four years ago they knew how to do that I was just helping them make sure that that conversation was as polished as possible so I'm really hoping that people are listening I will take the time knows that technology can not replace that human interaction even little things like the sun the studies are coming up the scientists are telling us that having your child to read or have a book they have been using E. readers that have the children's books and they can just press the button and the voice reads the book to them and turn the page right that is not activating the same part of the your child's brain and sitting on the grandparents lap and having grandparents who read the book she is a different part of the brain and so making sure that you're giving your children all and in fact is sort of funny the the academic that we're seeing is really in the upper and upper middle classes with that because the people that can't afford all the Wiz bang toys for their kids their kids are getting the right socialization on which is a funny thing to think about and certainly beyond my expertise but I'm seeing a workplace I'm seeing it in colleges it really all this to me it's not like you you you can't blame individuals because they're growing up the it's been pushed out you know all this technology has been just they had no choice that was there Hey you'd take it or you don't and it just it was pushed on a really so hopefully we you know like in this house rate what you're saying that when you when you go around you you talk of corporations in schools I guess you really cover the gamut don't you yes I am everything basically from fifth grade I help with and then I have an associate my friend works with me and she does kindergarten all the way through college so between the two of us we covered the entire gamut wow and yet like you said years ago you just have to Polish somebody but now you really have to retrain them and teach them what the the they're not learning from technology so exactly that is really a note you still on me what we've talked before people have these last minute they had gotta get questions like all my god I got this to judge I got a wedding coming up and I don't know you could they could still contact you you have books and everything about all this anyway right yeah I have a three books I have V. etiquette book which is a complete guide to modern manners and then I have my two crew was to class book but I get email etiquette emergencies all the time through my website through management dot com people can email me so December we just got through December it was all about gift giving end of your testing and and had the holiday parties now were into January and it's about returning yes and writing thank you note well there's a perfect example Joe that's exactly it parents and grandparents and you're out there listening right now is the perfect opportunity to start teaching your children empathy and one of the things that writing thank you note does is it helps the child to learn empathy because they're thinking about things from the other person from the gift givers point of view do not skip the thank you note January school just getting back into session people are getting back from vacation sit down do two or three a day and have your child practice the hand writing which is again is that's fine motor skills which we see in the world the kids don't have the fine motor skills they need some practical writing and passes that empathy and gratitude to write the thank you note wow this is great joy I am really glad we had a chance to get together this is all very good stuff and people can go to management dot com find out more about what you do and you know they have there's other things they can see their so let me get together again soon if you don't mind I love talking about this because I what you're saying is great and I hope it does start to swing back we need it's just you know doesn't seem right and people say well your day they did this yeah but in our day what happened I mean is that you still be doing that in this day you know because there's certain things that just don't change in manners and etiquette and respect her I think for most so this great Hey listen we'll we'll get together again soon in the new year and thank you very much for your time today we appreciate it it was my pleasure helping you save you Jody thanks a lot Jody ours that when it's good stuff I mean I'm glad to hear that you know he's out there doing stuff like that because this is it's true you know sometimes they just they re did never said no to them and they never it is not even really the kids fall the parents to some degree day were trying to start a new way of and then as it turned out the kids never caught on to a lot of good things they should have known and but this good to see management dot com Jody are spent graduate of Albany high nine fifty six WG what you've got all kinds of us all like get the job done hustle.

"RAB, John. Hello, jeff. Good. How are you man? I'm great. I'm happy that things are going well for all of us in our state, and sports wise, and the hoosiers have ramped up. So the big news get right to it Romeo plank for headed to the NBA worst kept secret in the state, and it was kind of preordained thing so to speak when he left new Albany high school and everyone now has the repairman about the season. And how he did whether he ought to whether he shouldn't have sat in the other the way the system is nowadays your punished if you don't go to the NBA. Yeah. You're exactly right. You know, it was a a a pretty much a a plan that have been in place right sometime. You know, just like, you know, with built Eric Gordon. You know, the plan was everybody knew he's likely to be a first round draft picks. It was going to be one year in college. They were very open about it. Or in the recruitment language, are very O'Brien and everything was very above board. And when you're projected to be, you know, a lottery pick or somewhere in that range. It's very difficult to make an argument that a person should pass that up because even though some people will say, well, he's not NBA ready. Right. Everybody. Yeah. That's exactly somebody's gonna pay you millions of dollars to learn your craft at their level. Then you take the money, and you learn the crack at their level because the NBA in college basketball there the team sports are different games. And what is needed and how the force base a lot of little things can go into that. But they're different. And so when you are going to be, you know, a lottery level pick, or what have you you take the money, you go to the NBA, and you learn, you know, I remember when Gordon Hayward let Butler that was Waleed in national teeth people were like oh that poor little kid from Brown's work. He's going to get eaten alive. Yeah. He averaged five point four points per game as a rookie because he had to learn the NBA like ninety nine percent of players do when they go to the NBA what happened or worked at his game got better because he has a physical tools to add significant skills onto his game. And all of a sudden will happen. He became an NBA all star. That's not to say the role meals going to become an NBA all star. The point is. Everybody almost everybody who gets drafted is not quote ready for the NBA, but they have the potential to get good MBA draft have the right? They could develop them for Romeo Lankford. I think it was a no brainer decision in today's current climate with the way guys drafted and the money that's out there. Yeah. It doesn't it really? When you look at it. And the things you laid out it makes total sense. And but everyone's hung up on that. Well, he's not ready. Well, no one you maybe maybe LeBron maybe Kobe, but beyond a handful of people nobody's ready to leave early. But now the system is the question Mark, though, many having some surgery none of us knew about this the back situation. How much of a factor was that issue in terms of his performance? I think it was somewhat of an issue because it's the thumb on his offhand. Right. You know? So that's part of as you hold the ball set up and everything and the only reason that that he's you know, a guy who struggled shooting. No, I mean, he was thirty six percent three point shooter in high school, and that's obviously playing against high school kids. You know, you're going to drop down some degree. I don't think it'd be expected dropped out this much, but you're going to drop that song going from high school to big ten defenders. I don't care how good your high school competition was those, you know, you're not playing against big ten guys night in night out. So it's certainly was somewhat of a factor. You know in the back of bothered him. It's kind of like a hip slash back issue. Cropped up the summer before his senior year of high school in a couple of weekends, actually, including one down in Louisville several days on beggars, but he came back and play. But it's it's been there before it's a little bit of how the hip in Iraq, sit back and sometimes it creates significant amount pain. So that's something that he'll obviously have worked on moving forward. I don't know whether they'll have back surgery or not, but he'll have it worked on. Maybe just, you know, massage chiropractic level kind of stuff, but he did play through some things. And you know, it's crazy when you actually look at it the majors leading. Freshman scores. Major college back, right. One RJ Barrett. Duke to sign Williamson, Duke, three Romeo Langford, Indiana. Yeah. It's not like he had an earlier. Absolutely, actually, take a minute. And look at it objectively without the emotion of fandom attached to it. Jeff, Rob Johnson peach dot com where the Saint Vincent sports performance hotline. The roster's going to undergo a remake to what extent we don't know right now with this in this day and age with Gregg transfers, and what have you, but there'll be a different roster. But the core coming back is an intriguing group, which I think lacks a little bit upfront perimeter play seemed solid is that a generalization. It makes sense. Yeah. I think so you lose your top two scores. Romi Lankford one Morgan then you return at least right now, you expect to return three four five six seven green L Durham Justice. Mitch Rapp innoc- Doron Davis. So you've got you've got some guys in the back court there certainly with with Robin ac- starting as a freshman point guard. Devante green with the way he shot the ball four for much of the season. Forty one point zero percent from three by far I use best three point shooter. They're now they're shot. Thirty four point eight percent from three you get two guys who actually shot either better than all right out the average for college player major college players from behind the arc. I think it would be helpful. If they added one more guard, and I think they do need that somebody on the front court because right now, you have one player Doron Davis who has experienced Betty, the post of a major college level, right? And obviously. You know, there were times he he played really really well, but he did on the average average thirteen point seven minutes per game average right at eighteen and a half over his last twelve to fourteen games. But still even when healthy you're talking about a guy who's playing basically half the gate. It's tough to go into big ten place with a physical things get inside of the big ten with only one experience post defender. I think rape Thompson can get there in time. Is he going to be ready next year? I would say you don't know because he doesn't have a lot of experience. And that's one of the reasons that I you is very very aggressively pursuing Joey Bronx six eleven two hundred and thirty pound grads range from Butler. They've already done it in home. Visit with him. He's been down to campus at Indiana for unofficial visit. And obviously if you can get a kid you understand post defense who six eleven two hundred and thirty pounds. He's going to be twenty two years old enough ever seen season starts you. Go after somebody. Big ten. I would take the concern. They have to is who who can throw it into the post when they need a hoop and who can score in traffic in the leagues they play in. They know obviously one Morgan did it. But now who can do that for him. Right. I think that is one of the concerns certainly I think, you know, when you look at how Durham's three point shooting, right? Went from twenty eight percent of the fresh from thirty five percent of the sophomore. That's a good job. You have seven percentage points. College basketball's good job. So I think they're going to have a couple of guys. And I think rob sentece because he shoots them all his form is good. He only made thirty one percent of his threes. But the porn is good. So I think you'll make another job lyrically should have three guys who shoots around thirty five percent, right. Interesting. So much was made about I used three points you as a team. But it's clearly as this sound that I'm not taking shots at anybody. But if you actually take Romeo and Jones percentages off, I use percentage goes up. So even if the guys who come back have similar percentages of the team, I you should shoot better from three. So I think the perimeter shooting actually will be a little bit more consistent. I don't think they're going to be great. I think it'd be more consistent. And then if meet the Anderson can get some spot minutes, obviously, he has a potential to help. But yet who you're gonna throw the ball to on the inside one day. You know, he could there's some things wrong can do pretty well. But he only average five point four points per game last year. Even if he even if the guy doubled his scoring average, you're talking about ten point eight point, I think they need somebody like Joey. And obviously, there's, you know, clear minutes for a guy, you know, you know, if you're looking at it from writing perspective, hey, you know, it's a chance to go play, Indiana. It's chance to place NBA all and it's a chance to play not just beyond the team. And you know, he would give them somebody or a player like him would give them you know, and interior presence. And I think that would be something that. You know, I think that's something that would really help out you next year. Because if they just have Ron Davis inside Bryant, you gotta try to figure it out..
