"About the Rockets, taking the Lakers out of their game that they're going. Houston's going with this small line up and play in T. J. Tucker against Anthony Davis, giving up five or six inches, and the Lakers ran their usual offense and other than a D and LeBron. Nobody gave them much of anything. So is going to be on their two superstars back and I don't Antony Davis didn't play the game that he needed the play on the floor against the Rockets in Game one. He was out on the perimeter. Hughton jump shots when you've got a six into advantage, even more when you attack in arm length over the guy who was checking you for the most of the night. You're not taking the best advantage you can and sure enough, they tip off Thegame. What's the I think it was the Lakersfirst possession, Anthony David shot about a 22 ft jump shot. It wasn't a three. It was right on the line, which is about as bad a shot as you can take. Did you get back behind the line and go for three? Or you get a better shot than 22 ft. Out. I go, man. They didn't adjust. What is Frank Vogel thinking? And the next time they came down in Florence, Andy Davis got in on a wing went hard at all scored. Ah, another possession in the first two minutes. Anthony Davis got to the room and threw it down, and he did play significantly closer to the rim. They just didn't do it on the first possession, But my flag went up that all this could be problems. Davis had a dynamite game. Double double 34 points, 10 rebounds Lakers win and get that Siri's back even to AA one on one and I give LeBron credit. Davis was a star tonight, but we'll find a pretty damn good game himself. And the thing about LeBron more so that here I think than ever before in his career. He has the ability to get to the rim or damn close to it. Hey, just so much more physical than anybody else. He still got that good, quick step and burst. Off the dribble. Last night he was going over people. He took one offensive foul. Which, of course, he complained about but hardened did a position and I thought the call was correct. But he just muscled his way to position and there was nothing that the smaller rockets could do against him. They hear is that can do it against seven point Anthony Davis. They get even doing again. 6 FT seven and built like a middle linebacker LeBron James. So that's how the Lakers won the game. A D The key guy he was doing more last night sponsored by our friends. At the Home Depot, right? My poem Drea opened 855 to 124227 going to Alaska. Jay's up on CBS portrayed in What do you say Yea? Hey, What's going on? How long time No talk, my friend. Thanks for getting back. I got to make my case for the Raiders. Man. I've been hearing everybody dog and The Raiders saying they're gonna go seven and nine, maybe eight. Nate and I just don't understand it. I really don't Jody Mac. I mean, we went seven and nine. Last year was a tough schedule like we got this year. With no jocks Jacob for the last five games of the season, and we have no defense. The Raiders actually improve their devious even if their defenses happens. Good. As it should be. And we keep Josh stick of healthy all year and we had no number one last year. Tough to get cut off. Damn. I wanted to talk to you about his Raiders. Um, because I'm one of those guys who say in 79 88, maybe nine and seven. That division is so wide open cans, said he's the best team. If you take it and beat them more power to you. Good luck. I don't see the chief's taking a major step back. Ah, As a matter of fact, I rightfully put them is the favorite to win the Super Bowl. We almost always do that with the team that wanted the year before, and it's infrequent. The teams put back to back championships together, but I actually think 10 cities Got a pretty good shot at it. Um, I didn't think Jacob's missed the last five game maybe got hurt in game number 11. I know he missed a significant part of the season. And, of course, down the stretch is always significant key aspect, and I know that you don't want to put all your eggs. In a rookie's basket. Specifically at the wide receiver position. Usually there is a massive improvement from year 12 Year, too, with wide receivers, But I was such a Henry Rug fan. I was shocked. 20 was not the first wide receiver off the board. The Raiders got him at a very advantageous position, and he's going to step right in and and start for them. They've got an issue with a couple of guys out with injury at the wide receiver position to our Williams being a key guy. I don't know what else in Nelson Aguilar is gonna add to the Raider mix. I watched Nelson play the last five years in Philadelphia was a first round draft pick who made a couple of plays when the Eagles made their Super Bowl run two years ago in 2017. But not much in 2018 and massively underachieved in 2019. That's why the Eagles let him walk out the door. Ah, maybe J grew knows something that I don't but they've got some guys who haven't at a track record. In the National Football League of putting up big numbers. They add a tight end, who has done nothing but put up numbers his entire career and Jason Witten, but I don't know what he's got left in the tank. Ah Ah, yeah. If Jacobs is going to be a bell cow 120 yard game guy, they take time off the clock. If you tell me the Raiders could go 10 and six most their games are played 20 to 17. Yeah, that could happen. But I'm not sure they're defense is well. I think their defense is good. I don't know if they had a kind of defense. It's regularly going to hold their opponents under 20 points. That's what it's going to take. I don't think the offense is going to be the way the Raiders are going to win it this year. Rob from Oregon's up on CBS Sports Radio radio Hello, Rob. Hey, Joni Mac. I love.

"Regime commits murders. They do it in country. They do it outside the country. They do financial crimes criminal enterprise. And so it's effectively by allowing Russia to be a member of INTERPOL, you're allowing criminals to have access to your information. I'm Benjamin witness. And this is the law fair podcast, March sixteenth two thousand nineteen Bill Browder human rights campaigner fo of Ladimir Putin seems to get arrested whenever he travels abroad as a result of red notices and diffusion orders issued by Vladimir Putin through the INTERPOL police organization. These incidents have highlighted the abusive INTERPOL via thar, -tarian governments. And they raise a really important question. Should we be participating in an international police organization with governments that use that organization to harass and arrest their enemies on the show today, we have to really thoughtful people on this subject with somewhat different points of view, although a lot of common ground Bill Browder himself along with Jay, go Russell. The head of an organization called fair trials which has worked to reform INTERPOL and make it less susceptible to abuse. Bill argues for kicking the bums out having police cooperation only between countries that observe civilized norms of law enforcement. Jay, go makes the case for mending not ending an inclusive international police organization, it's a great discussion of a complicated issue. And it's our four hundred episode whether it's really are four hundred episode. We don't know, but we're calling it episode four hundred it's the law fair podcast episode four hundred Woohoo, Bill Browder and Jay go Russell debate INTERPOL, and authoritarian governments. So guys I want to start by just having you both lay out the parameters of the dispute what is agreed upon between you and what is not. Agreed upon so Bill give us the case against INTERPOL. And what is you know, what is the problem here? And then Alaska Jay, go to sort of give us which part of that he agrees with and which part of that he thinks is incorrect so INTERPOL is the international police organisation. It's inferior a quite useful and and positive contribution to society because the main purpose is to catch fugitives. If somebody let's say commits a crime in the United States, and then flees to Canada INTERPOL is supposed to catch them as they crossed the border or do various other types of things. And so it's a way for von force -ment to work together. Internationally to catch bad guys. The problem is that every country in the world, minus one or two is a member of INTERPOL and not every country in the world. Has the same standards of rule of law decency and honesty as as other country. And so I have a lot of personal experience with this. Because I have over the years become one of the prime enemies of Ladimir Putin. I became his enemy after my lawyer. Sergei Magnitsky was murdered. And I spent the next few years fighting for Justice for him, which led to something called the Magnitsky act, which Putin hates more than anything in retaliation for that. Vladimir Putin has used Interpal we're coming up now to the seventh time where they've tried to use the INTERPOL arrest warrant system, and there's several different types of restaurants show. Go into a second to have me arrested and INTERPOL in theory has a safeguard against this. I say in theory, which is a constitution, which says that countries shouldn't use inner bowl to arrest political opponents or. People for religious reasons or for military reasons, and Mike has been clearly defined as a political persecution case Vladimir Putin is clearly out to get me because of what I've done with the Magnitsky act..

"He's their baseball writers love them. Some Bruce Springsteen. There's that then there's like ACDC or some band that you hear at arenas just arena music. What artists do you think is most associated with sports what musical act eight five five two one two four two two seven eight five five two one two four two two seven at Robin Lindbergh on Twitter, you guys have any answers in there. Am I might be missing somebody in Queen just comes to mind because we are the champions. Yeah. And even real rocky. You're never going to go to an arena not here that but you're not going to see where you just said green a yes. But I can that current day. I mean, I don't know if that Kurt carries into the current day. That's not the answer. There. There's got to be fans right is who's the biggest musician celebrity fan. That's always I I'm biased. So like, I feel like I have to say like Jay jaycees, my favorite artists of all time. Is that close? But I think that's probably the Drake. It could be. I mean, Drake's personas most associated with sports, maybe. But I don't think it's actual music is that's true. He but he's seen there. All the time. We talked about the Drake curse and all that. But yeah, the the music doesn't quite get the same burn at NBA games. I think I gotta go with Jay Z NBA on say and beyond say, yeah. I mean, they're both kind of tied together. And plus I think Drake's really only associated with the raptors, and whereas Jay Z's kind of more associated with the whole MBA. I yeah. But Jake thing that he was wearing that a champ all the AFC NFC championship logo on his shirt and people are getting on the Kentucky locker room thing. But I see what you're saying. I don't know. I don't know if beyond say is associated with sports so much though her and Jay together as one thing they're just like the biggest the celebrity couple of the United States, really. But. Yeah. I I'm trying to think of it. The I think it probably sold or what about what about van Halen because whenever there's a jump ball. You is getting on. Yeah. But there's probably a lot of kids who don't even know where that comes from. But some of the songs like that. That's a different question to like, what song is most associated with sports versus which musical act is most associated with sports Carrie Underwood. Does do the Sunday night football a little song. It's pretty big. Yeah. I really don't like that song. It's not as bad as the Monday night. Whatever that EDM Hank Williams song that they play on Monday night football that is an atrocity an abomination and also bad. They're both beim on like nobody even says that game on. Yeah. The NFL's come up with that music. Sometimes some of those choices sound like they were chosen by a focus group or something. Let's go to slim in Detroit, slim, you're up next here at slim in Detroit, you're up next year. CBS sports radio. My name's slim. Shady what's up? Hey, hey, Robin. Thanks so much for taking my call big fan. Listen, the reason the AFC is going to be a huge success is because of the passion the players are not playing for the money yet. There's no money talk. No contract talk. No, hold out talk. No, levian new Antonio Brown. Odell none of that stuff. It's about the game. And that just makes it so interesting and less tiresome than the NFL's become. I understand. And there is like some like that for the love of the game aspect of it. I don't know how long that lasts though. Because people care about those other players, you just mentioned whether or not. I don't want to start a another conversation or a dialogue about how people feel about some of those individuals situations people care about them. And I don't know if there's any player in the af people care about as of yet. And that's gonna matter. Eventually, let's go to j in Alaska, Jay, you're up next here on CBS sports radio. What's going on? Robin. Love your show, bro. Thank you, sir. Hey, you know, I think that this. The secondary league's going to be successful too. Because people like me who have an incredible football Jones. This gives us something that is football related when the seasons back on it seems like it takes for ever football season to come back around. So I'm loving. I I love the NFL Europe where they did. I used to watch it all the time. So I think it's going to be awesome. But the point I wanted to make and I just wanted to get your take on this. You know, nobody everybody's been sold. Just you know licking Tom Brady speeding praising him as a craze wall time. But nobody nobody is really bringing up the fact that I think father tire and finally came for Tom Brady when I was watching the Super Bowl, although very unsatisfying. I thought I I for a secondary. I was I was having a little deja vu and watching paid manning versus the Carolina Panthers. Tom Brady looks horrible. He played the worst. I've ever seen a plane a Super Bowl, and especially after last year what he just bawled out there for over five hundred yards and play the game of his wife, but still lost the Philly Philly, and then this year it wasn't him won the Super Bowl. It was the defense and slowly, Michelle. So I think that he should just walk away flies that and be smart like they'd manning because he might be the goat. All the time. I'm up, you know, I feel like sometimes in sports, we have real difficulty with something. That's not an extreme. Right. So like if it's not Tom Brady's still the greatest or it's not Tom Brady has fallen off. Then. There's an issue and Asia somewhere in between like this patriots Super Bowl run to me was far. More a testament to Bill bell checks greatness than Tom Brady's greatness. Tom Brady was. Mediocres little strong. He was above average in the playoff run. He didn't do anything special. Bella check game planned special. You know? Each individual team that the tailored game plan. So I I think this run with a testament to greatness more than Brady's greatness still at the same time Brady was good enough to be the quarterback for the Super Bowl winning team. It didn't hurt them actively hurt them. You know, I think there's natural. This is Michigan women's basketball on the Michigan IMG sports network. Now after the arena, here's Matt Hart. "It is the routing number two here on CBS sports radio. Coldplay, did the Super Bowl halftime not too long ago. Controversy about this the Super Bowl halftime this year. They didn't even let room five talk. During the week. Joining me now to talk Jim diablo's twelve years as NFL supervisor of officials. He was the empire for Super Bowl thirty three. And Jim is it safe to assume you are glad you weren't the supervisor of officials for the last two weeks? But a really bad connection. Oh looks like you there. Jim. Can you hear me? But by any chance. Eaten? Anthony, y you try and call them back. In the meantime, I'll talk to Jay in Alaska. Jay, you're up next here on CBS sports radio. What's up? Hey, what's going on, man? What's good? My word is fraudulent. I believe in my opinion. All of those championships are started in a way starting with the alcohol. I mean. He has built his championships on other people's backs by cheating them out of Super Bowl opportunities. And it happened again with the chiefs with that ridiculous. Tap on the shoulder. So let me ask you. How did the patriots cheat to get that called? Well, not on that play. Always the beneficiary of some ridiculous call which makes me feel like the fixes in. I mean, it's like the old wants to promote that team because he's the golden boy, and you know, starting with the tuck rule the raiders Super Bowl he would've never even got on this historic run Super Bowl championships. If they were to just look they did suspend Tom Brady four games for deflate gate and fought for like a year. About that. So it's just like I've been saying all show like I can simultaneously. Believe that the patriots are the greatest team I've ever seen and that the patriots have done some shady stuff in that same time period. Like, those two things can coexist at the same time. All right. I think we got Jim de apple on the phone right now twelve years NFL supervisor of officials, and when I was trying to ask you before Jim is I bet that you're happy. You weren't the supervisor of officials for the last two weeks. You know, Robert was probably a very difficult week for L, Ruger on and stuff. Things like that happened. But it was just a really the by the officials, and unfortunately, it was a rarely inopportune time. So no, I'm really glad it was not. League office at that time. If you were would you be worried about how that could affect the performance of the refs going into this game, or or do you think these guys know what they're doing? They can put that pass. Obviously, it's not the same group of people. But just the idea that the officials will be so closely watched in this game. I would hope that John Terry in crew who were you know, this is really an awfully good crew that they put together for the Super Bowl. I would hope that they put all that behind them. And just security the game at hand. And I'm going to be a lot of scrutiny of this game for people looking at them. And but that's what the job is done this before. So I'm sure they'll do this weekend. You were the unpire for Super Bowl thirty three. I think a lotta times one of the things we talk about in the sports media as the pressure of the Super Bowl. And I I think sometimes you see those jitters for players when the game starts and the like how's that like for an official because the moment is obviously big for you guys as well. What do you do to prepare to to make sure that that you're, you know, you're not affected by the moment. You know, it's kind of interesting because the. Leading up to the Super Bowl is really tough. You're trying to put everything together. All the preparations. He's a little bit more intense at this time. What's the team starts at once wrote at first whistle Richland. It's just another football game. You know, you get concentrated. But the week when you're when you're at the Super Bowl site and going through all the preparation and the media's run you your preteen activities. There's an awful lot of pressure to. It's the same situation and the players. Normal routine, which is the normal routine. Official as well. Do you change the way you call the game? At all is that a real thing. Like where where you you let go is that something that's talked about specific things you're going to focus on what changes will absolutely not easy work the game. If you would work any team, but I tell you watching Super Bowl all these years skiing for some reason players. The home up in you fouls in the Super Bowl because they were on the bigger stage. The players understand you're making a mistake or committee the final at this point. They don't take the chances that they probably would play during the regular season or even in the playoffs. But the game as you wouldn't work any other teams. And hopefully, as I said the toughest really work games because you know. The Super Bowl losers down for the day of the week. And so what is trying to do is? You're trying to is there. A whole lot more pressure on the that better working with. Robert Lindbergh, talking to Jim de apple has twelve years NFL supervisor of officials umpire for Super Bowl thirty three here on CBS sports radio back to the non call for just a second. There's been a lot of talk about what should happen as a result of it. But the the one thing sort of said is I don't know if anything needs to change as a result of the call. I just don't understand how that call could be missed. We know there's human error, but that one was just so blatant. So can you explain is there any way to rationalize how it actually happened that way? Nervi truth. What I've looked at the play a number of times in the, you know, the the line of scrimmage official had primary responsibility of, you know, Tommy Lee Lewis coming out of the backfield in, you know, his responsibility one hundred percent, and he should be seeing that that clear the whole time. Once the ball is thrown in the year three or four sets of is going to that football try to determine you know, if there's any legal action going on. I wish it was easy. But it was just an absolutely blown call. It was it was is with the Saudi accent determined that. There wasn't a foul. Uh? Opportunity to talk to any of the systems. I haven't talked to anyone in the league office about I think this is one of those. Everyone's just kinda plus the fly in canton, did not take it out. And and unfortunately, it it. If black Mark for the department of let's let's remove that play for a second because I wouldn't want to do it just based on that play. But are there are there changes that you would like to see enacted that you think would help the officiating overall? You so much talk about you know, recruiting instant replay. And I really think replay there's a tremendous asset. The. To the official, but I would like to see it expanded a bit. I'd like to see it expanded to assist on the illegal hits. I don't I don't necessarily wanna see instant replay on just recalled because that's just the nature of the team. We have an illegal on the best players. It happened. So quickly that I think. Given the opportunity as they do in the college game allows replay official to take a look at those types of. So I would like to see the experience to include illegal hits on defenseless. The quarterback receivers etcetera to be included in an instant replay. Jim appreciate you taking the time this morning and appreciate your perspective. Obviously, given your wealth of experience. Thank you. It's been my pleasure. Evergreen weekend. Jim Davalos twelve years. He was the NFL supervisor of officials. So knows what he's talking about. When it comes to those refs eight five five two one two four two two seven. I suppose I must make my Super Bowl pick coming up next. I'll do that. After a sports flash from Peter Schwartz..

"Either at her Chris price, but to the Victor go the spoils. So we'll talk Steelers with the Deakin Kabbalah coming up at eleven PM eastern eight five five two two four CBS. I watched both these teams tonight. I'm thinking man, I know that there seems to be a curse on the Andy Reid. And there seems to be a curse on the Kansas City Chiefs and people throw that in my face, you watch the way Kansas City plays you watch the way Houston plays. You see the way that the chargers have been playing over the last few weeks and really their entire season Baltimore's playing with a lot of hoops. But now they got something different with with Lamar Jackson. Indianapolis is coming in like a house afire. New England's a better football team that a lot of these teams. Pittsburgh's a better team that a lot of these teams. But for different reasons one where it seems to be too much now on Tom Brady in the other one where if anything goes wrong, can I trust you guys to come out of the foxhole? I don't know if I trust either one to win a Super Bowl. I don't believe either. One win the Super Bowl this year. We're keeping Super Bowl hopes alive with both of these quarterbacks. And both of these teams now because I just went through the FCC, and I mentioned three teams that could get them. Eight five five two one two four CBS. Let me get to Jay in Alaska. Jay, you're next up on CBS sports radio. Go ahead. Let me say can I want to be the first guy in line with my nation that is raider nation. To file a giant shovel of talk rule on Tom Brady's paved nothing would make me happier in the sea. That loser that cheater get to the AFC championship game. Play in a blizzard strip sack face planted in the ground and watch the other team dance on his grave and win the AFC Super Bowl and watch him walk off the field dejected loser and never ever play. Again. I hate Tom Brady they should have never won that super ball. He is a cheater starting with the role. Can't stand the guy. I'm out. Thank you very much. Jack. The hidden cheat in the tuck rule did he like that was the refs right? Deflate gate. Deflate gate and spy gate spy gate. I dig all that. But the tuck rule that was the refs wasn't at Hickey. Yes. That was all on the rafts. Tom Brady didn't do much. But all the rest created a monster. They created this Hooper villain like Tom Brady. That's what looting tier I guess. Oh, I'm gonna put Jae down to down to say that. I think what I'm getting there is that he thinks that the patriots are dead. I'm not sure Matt online, you're next up on CBS sports radio. Go ahead. Hi, Matt, go ahead, buddy. Well, let me put down the gallon of bleach. I watch hours after watching the patriots today, it'd be calling poison control. Instead of me brother, but continue go ahead. All right on my Jane, Alaska, I'm actually gonna talk like a person with a brain here. I'm gonna tell you straight up about the patriots. What you're seeing is your eyes can is simply a team that has washed away. Wash their way and the guy is directly responsible for where the patriots. All right now is not other than Robert Kraft. And the recent Robert Kraft is the reason for the Dow is when he told ballot. Check you kick keep Garoppolo Brady stays at empower Brady since then it's been a bleep storm and the half with this team. You got people pointing fingers at each other. They have lost their way and very simply for after this season. Somebody's telling the divorce papers to somebody signing it and say goodbye and good Wettin. I'm out. Man. I wish you could disagree with you. But here we are I wish but it's true for Tom Brady, Barbara crafts businessman and knows the Tom Brady's the golden goose and Tom Brady. He's not gonna let go Tom Brady ever. Bob Kraft has been a great great owner for the New England Patriots. But he fell in love too much with Tom Brady. And what Matt just said is the absolute truth of it. When you got rid of Jimmy Garoppolo. And I know Jimmy Garoppolo is coming off a rehab, and we don't know how great Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be for the future looks like cow's Shanahan's a helluva coach out in San Francisco. Not that anybody needed any real convincing. But it still looks like Shanahan's a helluva coach out there with what he's doing with Mullins. But when they decided to make that trade excuse me when Robert Kraft took Tom Brady side is the owner and Bill Belichick walk down the hallway in gave Jimmy Garoppolo away. Because that's what he did. He gave away. Jimmy garoppolo. The Cleveland Browns would have been willing to give up a ton more. And I know that for a fact when he was mad, and he just got rid of them because he just didn't want to see him again. Because of what was going on that ended this dynasty? That was the beginning of the end here, and for one that says, it always is going to end with the owner everything starts and finishes with an owner in professional sports with the way things go and for Robert Kraft to do what he did to make that decision on Tom Brady. He's a good businessman, and he does the things run through Tom Brady. It's going to go through the player, not the coach. But when you made that decision, it's no longer the patriot way. It's the Brady way and the Brady could very well be coming to an end. Because what you watch today was desperation. I don't think the Steelers can really count on each other either. But what I saw today was a desperate man with a ton on his shoulders trying to bring his team back when things weren't going. Well, when they were committing penalties when they just weren't focused after a tremendously terrible fluke loss down to Miami. A chance to reassert your dominance to put yourself right there at the top and kill the spirit of the Pittsburgh Steelers mind, you, hey, we lost three in a row including to the Oakland Raiders. I don't care about x Ray machines. I don't care about slippery fields. The raiders shouldn't even had any sort of a breadth in that football game. And you go there, and you do that authencity against Pittsburgh. I'll give Pittsburgh their credit. They came to try to live to try to get back on track. They play desperate football. They won today. I'll give them credit. I don't take them seriously for Super Bowl either. But I'll give him credit for that. But for New England delay the that they did on the offensive side. And now moving forward for it. This is maybe the beginning of something really sinister and ugly on the inside twenty years from now, you try to remember the best because they won five Super Bowls together. But from what Matt says when that decision was made last year. That's the end of it all eight five five two one two four CBS coming up next. Berry winner will join us Associated Press. We'll talk football with him right now. It's the always steadfast Peter Schwartz with the latest sports update. Sports flash care. This report brought to you by Geico. Great news. "Network at eleven PM eastern, we either at her Chris price, but to the Victor go the spoils. So we'll talk Steelers with a Deakin Kabbalah coming up at eleven PM eastern eight five five two one two four CBS. I watched both these teams tonight. I'm thinking man, I know that there seems to be a curse on Andy Reid. And there seems to be a curse on the Kansas City Chiefs and people throw that in my face, you watch the Kansas City plays you watch the way Houston plays. I don't know if I trust either one to win the Super Bowl. I don't believe either. One win the Super Bowl this year. Are keeping Super Bowl hopes alive with both of these quarterbacks. And both of these teams now because I just went through the sea. And I mentioned three teams that could get them. Eight five five two one two four CBS. Let me get to Jane Alaska. Jay, you're next up on CBS sports radio. Go ahead. Let me say can I want to be the first guy in line with my nation that is raider nation. To pile. A giant shovel full of talk rule on Tom Brady's dead. Save. Nothing would make me happier in the sea. That loser that cheater get to the AFC championship game. Play in a blizzard get strip sack face planted in the ground and watch the other team dance on his grave and win ASEAN Super Bowl and watch him walk off the field dejected loser and never ever play. Again. I hate Tom Brady they should've never won that Super Bowl. Here's a cheater starting with the role. Can't stand the guy. I'm out. Thank you very much. Jack. The. She in the tuck rule that he like that was the refs right? Deflate gate. Deflate gate and spy gates spy gate. I dig all that. But the tuck rule that was the refs wasn't it Hickey. Yes. That was all in the rafts. Tom Brady didn't do much. But the rest created a monster. They created a super villain like Tom Brady. That's what she's alluding to you. I guess so I'm gonna put Jae down to down to say that. I think what I'm getting there is that he thinks that the patriots are dead. I'm not sure Matt online, you're next on CBS sports radio. Go ahead. Hi, Matt, go ahead, buddy. Well, let me put down the gallon of bleach epic the last few hours after watching the patriots today got to be calling poison control. Instead of me brother, but continue go ahead. All right on my chain, Alaska, I'm actually gonna talk like a person with a brain here. I'm gonna tell you straight up about the patriots. What you're seeing is is simply quite a team that has lost their way. Terrier wash their way and the guy that is directly responsible for where the patriots. All right now is not other than Robert Kraft. And the recent Robert Kraft is the reason for the right now is when he told a check you kick keep Jimmy Garoppolo Brady stays in power Brady is a leap storm and a half with this team. And now, you got people point fingers at each other. They have watched their way and very simply forget after this season. Somebody's hating the divorce papers to somebody signing it and say goodbye and could Whitten's I'm out. Mad? I wish you could disagree with you. But here we are I wish but it's true for Tom Brady. Barbara crafts, a businessman and knows the Tom Brady's the golden goose and Tom is not going to let go Tom Brady ever. Bob Kraft has been a great great owner for the New England Patriots. But he fell in love with Tom Brady, it what Matt just said is the absolute truth of it. When you got rid of Jimmy Garoppolo. And I know Jimmy Garoppolo is coming off a rehab, and we don't know how great Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be for the future. Looks like Kyle Shanahan a helluva coach out in San Francisco. That was the beginning of the end here. And for what Matt says, it always is going to end with the owner everything starts and finishes with an owner in professional sports with the way things go and for Robert Kraft to do what he did to make that decision on Tom Brady. He's a good businessman, and he knows the things run through Tom Brady. It's going to go through the player, not the coach. But when you made that decision, it's no longer the patriot way. It's the Brady way in the Brady way could very well. Be coming to an end because what you watch today was desperation. I don't think the Steelers can really count on each other either. But what I saw today was a desperate man with a ton on his shoulders trying to bring his team back when things weren't going. Well, when they were committing penalties when they just weren't focused after a tremendously terrible fluke loss down to Miami. A chance to reassert your dominance to put yourself right there at the top and kill the spirit of the Pittsburgh Steelers mind, you Haywood lost three in a row including to the Oakland Raiders. I don't care about x Ray machines. I don't care about slippery fields. The raiders shouldn't even had any sort of a breath in that football game. And you go there and you do that offensively against Pittsburgh. I'll give Pittsburgh their credit. They came to try to live to try to get back on track. They play desperate football. They won today. I'll give them credit. I don't take him seriously for Super Bowl either. That's the end of it all eight five five two one two four CBS coming up next berry Willer will join us Associated Press. We'll talk with him right now. It's the always steadfast Peter Schwartz with the latest sports update. Sports play. And this report brought to you by Geico. Great news. There's a quick way you could save money. Switch to Geico. Geico dot com. And in fifteen minutes, you could save fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Sunday night football in LA there in the third quarter. The eagles are on top of the Rams twenty three thirteen. Jake Elliott just kicked his third field goal of the game. Wendell small was nine yard touchdown run. Earlier in this third quarter, snappy thirteen all tie Todd girl. He's got a five yard run. Or the Rams Twenty-three. Thirteen eagles in the third quarter. Elsewhere the Steelers patriots seventeen cents and their three-game skid. It was the forty Niners over the Seahawks and overtime twenty six twenty three titans. Beat the giants seventeen. "Allergy of it for Gruden. He knows that we all know, here's a really good coach great motivator of men, but he couldn't do player personnel decisions. If you wanna weigh in Tommy in the heart of Oakland, California. What's up buddy, you're on CBS sports radio? And I just wanted to say man, I have never seen the guy. More scared in their team. "Matt stench come gonna join me in about twenty minutes talks in college football last by Gruden too. So I just posited. This guy's in love to hear from you two eight five five two one two four CBS. And I think it came off of will someday. I think the question buyer sell from Tom Benedetto and Stewart Kovacs was will someday Baker Mayfield be a top five quarterback in the game? And so I wanna know sort of where we went was who will be the top five quarterbacks in the National Football League five years from now we're going to exclude college players right from the conversation. Current college players this is it looks guys. Right. Because here's no order. But here's my list of guys you told me when I'm forgetting coal from Mahomes. Aaron Rodgers will be he'll be the Tom Brady is now Andrew lock Sam darnold. Baker mayfield. Carson wentz. Jimmy GM. Definitely again people. Dust. You said Derek Carr just ignored that about your boy, Mitch Trubisky. I don't you're not gonna be on there. It's a little bit of a straight. He's not going to be on their husbands could still be around his cousins. I believe I mean. Yeah. Guys are doing it. How old is breezy. And I think he's thirty nine or thirty eight. Yeah. Yeah. And Ben is thirty six thirty seven. Shawn Watson, I should have on this list. All right guys Mayfield. Yeah. Bakers that you started you guys give me your top five stall trying to come up with mine. All right. So mine and no order is Carson Wentz to Shawn Watson Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers even still at the age of thirty nine. I love the he'll he'll be thirty nine. Yeah. He's only thirty four right now. Spring chicken Manny that's a young kid. I feel like you can't go Mayfield and darnold though, you really both. Those guys are gonna work out you go both go either, really. Gene. How crazy there'd be if both the jets and the Browns hit finally on the same draft? That's not happening right here zero real chance that neither if history tells us better than both. I would think. Yeah. All right. Who do you got? Dependent. I'll go with Rogers. I'll go with Russell Wilson ago. Shawn Watson, I'll go with Andrew luck. And I'll go Jared Goff. All right. I'm gonna go went and nobody Aaron Rodgers luck Watson. And because I how did it become a cheese Homer not even achieves fan. Got a little spice in there. I gotta get a little I'll go Patrick Mahomes or rationally leaving off a list, Jimmy G and Russell Wilson. But you gotta figure some of these guys are going to hit a wall. I mean, Russell Wilson. We know is the real deal or just be exposed. I mean, I'm not freaking out that Jimmy had one bad had one bad outing. I'm not, but he also is not going to be crowded hall Famer because he went five now at the end of the season didn't really matter. We have a call for advice for students. Interesting at eight five five two one two four CBS. Let's take it Stewart for this. I'm up for some excited for all right, Jane, Alaska, Jay, who's a raiders fan at j you can't let go the hope. I love that buddy. You're back on CBS sports radio. Hey, what's up, brother? Hey, man. I gotta tell you. You guys got to you got to flip the script by on this thing with stool, man. He's got to go out with this girl shopping, but he's to give her a stipulation it'd be relation is. She's got to take him to court a secret pick out an outfit for a little later on you know, while while wild time. Care that after he DVR the game. Speaking sit on the couch and watch the game uninterrupted. She thinks he's the greatest guy in the world because she got new lingerie you got something out of it. Hey, you just turn the women into women eight you know, what I'm saying. I know what you're saying chain. Alaska stew on that microphone. What do you think about this might not be the worst idea? That's an amazing idea. Pretty good idea. It's actually pretty romantic by Jane, Alaska, right? Everybody wins. What a thought Jane Alaska romance, bring it. Hey, man. He's gotta redirect his passion from the raiders to something else. Because it ain't it ain't looking good. Let's go to Oklahoma, Hank. Thanks for listening to man. Appreciate you. You're on CBS sports radio. Hey, man. I love the show. I listened to Romanian DA. But right in the new tastes cake. I'm actually the kid that tweeted that dick buckets comparison last week. Oh, yeah. Thanks, buddy. Welcome eddie. What do you? What do you got? I wanted your take on this new rule about not coming down the quarterback with your full body weight. Oh, I'm an engineering major and the physics of turning your momentum momentum vector it's got a magnitude and a direction, and that is that is some crazy agility they're asking for and I get that we got to protect the quarterback. I grew up watching like dick buckets film. Brooks Derrick Brooks, you watch that guy. He tackled people parallel to the field and any smoked people every time I get you can't do that more is is the D N being pass rusher being devaluated with the protection of the quarterback going up and as a quarterback being nerves too much. I do I think it's a great point. I'll I'll point the finger at a call that that extended a drive for my team that shouldn't have even though it was absolutely the right, quote, unquote, the right call when it was claimed Clinton clay Matthews barreled into Mitchell Trubisky and the penalty was throwing I mean, it's technically appealing the spirit of the law. The spirit of the rule book. I'm old enough to remember when that was and it wasn't a dirty hit. He didn't go head to head. He didn't write. It didn't snap his leg and Abby just tackled. The guy. Couple couple steps after he threw I I agree. I think I think the NFL in its attempts to protect quarterbacks because they sell I think I think the NFL has wrapped quarterback protection up in this idea that it's about CD and Helvin I think they're separate issues, and I think protecting players matters. But when you're protecting quarterback so much more than everyone else. It's about something else. I I actually I don't love where the rules are at. And I'm a guy I don't like change. I understand the NFL has to make some adjustments. I don't love how protected the cocoon of silliness up protection. We put these guys under Dane in Texas. Thanks for listening to man, you're on CBS sports radio. I got through Matt Ryan never the top five natty ice. That's a good one. Yeah. How old is? Yeah. He's got to still be doing it. I mean, he's definitely younger than Aaron Rodgers. And you still be doing and Julio John's going to be there. I think you still got a lot of good years ahead. I mean, Matt Ryan he'll be he'll be thirty eight five years from now. So it's a little bit younger than drew Brees. By the way, guys. We did not put on the list. I don't think they belong. But Dak Prescott. Some people are still really high on ESPN two. They had a story how they're squandering. His greatness more signs at ESPN doesn't know what to talk about. I'm just being honest. I'm just being honest. I'll praise people I don't mind. Mitchell Trubisky does not I really hope that the guy. That's on the list is whoever the bears draft like a year from now. Right. That guy becomes the guy. Jimmy G wasn't on my let you know that somebody that none of us brought up as Marcus mariota. And I'm down in. Mario. I'm not a big guy only pajamas Winston list. But there are still people around football who feel really confident are you? Mario guy, Tom. I'm a big mariota guy. I believe in the titans. Yeah. I just don't think he's. Ever going to be an elite quarter. I think he's a very good above average player. He's not his ceiling Richmond stir on Taylor. He knows way better than you hate tyrod Taylor. I Don I don't understand while the tyrod Taylor is a starting quarterback. That's it. He he's inside the top thirty just barely. And that's all he is best interception percentage in the history NFL because he never takes a chance. I'm just saying some stat of a lot of work. The money. I don't know. How old Alex Smith is? But he's on the list, you know, nobody's at Jared Goff, which I'm not saying, it's a sure thing you, but governor list. Well, we got we got we got to pay more attention Darren in Omaha. Thanks for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. Well, this is your phone. One dead body. Have a little talk about Oakland in the trade of back. I'm not an open HOGAN whatsoever on the Cowboys fan. So I have my own issues been talked about with that. I don't know if it's stack or if it's the lack of receiver. She has never get open remains to be seen in Oakland. I'm surprised of how many people are are down on trading back and not take him. Maybe it's maybe it's Texas history. So let me put it this way. So if Pittsburgh New England. Historically. They haven't paid their guys, right? Was that Pittsburgh? I'm guessing they wouldn't paid meter. They would have let him. Well, why is it because of jerem Sarwar? I and I'm sorry to cut you off. Because we we gotta get to match tinge come in just a minute. He's going to join us here. So let me and I apologize. Please. Go back into the eight five five two one two four CBS. There's a lot of ways to boil it down. Here's all doing fifteen seconds. And I've heard it from several places several broadcast. I think people have said as a guest on the show. I don't think you are likely to become successful as a head coach or a GM. If you make a habit out of trading hall of famers, and my concern is that Jon Gruden and this goes right till we talked about with Matt Patricia the start of the show arrogance is great up until it crosses that line. And then it's a malignancy not just in the organization for the people who practice it, but the people themselves, and I worry that maybe Jon Gruden by in the hype by in the headlines looking at his Bank account swimming in his Scrooge mcduck like vault of. Cash and not understanding that you have to evolve and you have to change max a stud. It's not have any conversation to them or taken into account. What he meant that locker and let alone on the football field. I think it's a real problem. All right. But we'll we'll ask mad stench comb who played for Gruden who's coming up in a minute ESPN SEC analyst his view on groomed. But also wanna hit a bunch of college. "Former Georgia player, Matt I'm going to join me in about twenty minutes talks in college football last by Gruden too. So I just posited this to the guy's in love to hear from you two eight five five two one two four CBS. Right because here's no order. But here's my list of guys you told me when I'm forgetting coal from Mahomes. Aaron Rodgers will be he'll be the age Tom Brady is now Andrew luck. Sam darnold. Baker mayfield. Carson wentz. Jimmy, G M definitely forgetting people. Dust. You said your car just ignored that. How about your boy mixture? You're not going to be on there. It's a little bit of he's not going to be on their husbands could still be around cousins. I believe I mean. Yeah. Guys are doing it. How old is breezy. And I think he's thirty nine or thirty eight. Yeah. Yeah. And Ben is thirty six almost thirty seven to Shawn Watson, I should have on this list. All right guys Mayfield. Yeah. Bakers. You started you guys give me your top five while I stall on trying to come up with mine. All right. So mine and no order is Carson Wentz. Shawn Watson Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers even still at the age of thirty nine. I I love the he'll he'll be thirty nine. Yeah. He's only thirty four right now. Spring chicken Manny that's a young kid. I feel like you can't go Mayfield and darnold though, you really both. Those guys are going to work out you go both any go either, really. How crazy there'd be if both the jets and the Browns hit finally on the same draft? That's not happening right here zero real chance that neither if history tells us better than both. I would think. Yeah. All right. Who do you got dependent? I'll go with Rogers. I'll go with Russell Wilson ago. Shawn Watson, I'll go with Andrew luck. And I'll go Jared Goff. All right. I'm gonna go went and nobody order Aaron Rodgers luck Watson. And because I how did it become a chief Homer not even achieves fan. Can I get a little spice in there? I gotta get a little ago, Patrick Mahomes or rationally leaving off a list Jimi G and Russell Wilson. But you gotta figure some of these guys are going to hit a wall. I mean, Russell Wilson. We know is the real deal or just be exposed. I mean, I'm not freaking out that Jimmy had one bad had one bad outing. I'm not, but he also is not going to be crowded hall of Famer because he went five zero at the end of the season didn't really matter. We apparently have a call for advice for stew. That's interesting. At eight five five two one two four CBS. Let's take it. Stewart for this. I am offer some excited. All right, Jane, Alaska, Jay, who's a raiders fan at j you can't let go the hope. I love that buddy. You're back on CBS sports radio. Hey, what's up, brother? Hey, man. I gotta tell you, you guys gotta you gotta flip the script by on this thing with Stu. He's got to go out with this girl. I shopping, but he's to give her a stipulation if she's gotta take him to tour of secrets pick out an outfit for a little later on you know, while while wild time take care of that after he DVR the game. They can sit on the couch and watch the game uninterrupted. She thinks he's the greatest guy in the world because she got new lottery, you got something out of it. Hey, that's you just turn the women's and eliminate you know, what I'm saying. I know what you're saying chain Alaska still get on that microphone. What do you think about this might not be the worst idea? That's an amazing idea. Pretty good idea. It's actually pretty romantic by Jane, Alaska, right? Everybody wins. What a thought Jane Alaska romance, bring it. Hey, man. He's gotta redirect his passions from the raiders to something else. Because it ain't it ain't looking good. Let's go to Oklahoma, Hank. Thanks, man. Appreciate you. You're on CBS sports radio. Hey, man. I love the show. Yeah. I listened to Romanian DA but writer, the new tastes cake. I'm actually the kid that tweeted that dig bucks. Comparison last week. Yeah. Thanks, buddy. Welcome. What do you got? Did you take on this new rule about not coming down a quarterback with your full body weight? Oh, I'm an engineering major and the physics of turning your momentum momentum vector it's got a magnitude and a direction, and that is that is some crazy agility they're asking for and I get that we got to protect the quarterback. I grew up watching like dick buckets film. Brooks Derrick Brooks, you watch that guy. He tackled people parallel to the field, and he smoked people every time I get you can't do that more is is the D N being a pass rusher being devaluated with the protection of the quarterback going up and there's a quarterback being nerves too much. I do I think it's a great point. I'll I'll point the finger at a call that extended a dry for my team that shouldn't have even though it was absolutely the right, quote, unquote. The right call when I was clay clay Matthews barreled into Mitchell Trubisky and a penalty was there all I mean, it's technically in the spirit of the law. The spirit of the rule book. I'm old enough to remember when that was and it wasn't a dirty hit. He didn't go head to head. He didn't write. It didn't snap his leg, Abby. Just tackled. The guy. Couple couple steps after he threw I agree. I think I think the NFL in its attempts to protect quarterback because they sell I think I think the NFL has wrapped quarterback protection up in this idea that it's about CD and health, and I think they're separate issues, and I think protecting players matters. But when you're protecting quarterback so much more than everyone else. It's about something else. I I actually I don't love where the rules are at. And I'm guy. That's I don't like change. I understand the NFL has made some adjustments. I don't love how protected the cocoon of silliness up protection. We put these guys under Dane in Texas. Thanks for listening to man, you're on CBS sports radio. I got I got thrown Matt Ryan never the top five. Now. That's a good one. Yeah. Yeah. He's got to still be doing it. I mean, he's definitely younger than Aaron Rodgers. He's still be doing it who you're John's going to be there. I think you still got a lot of good years ahead. I mean, Matt Ryan he'll be he'll be thirty eight five years from now. So it's a little bit younger than drew Brees. By the way, guys. We did not put on the list. I don't think they belong but deck Prescott. Some people were still really high on ESPN today story how they're squandering. His greatness more signs at ESPN doesn't want to talk about. I'm just being honest. I'm just being honest. I'll praise people I don't mind. Mitchell Trubisky does not I really hope that the guy. That's on the list is whoever the bears draft like a year from now. Right. That guy becomes the guy. Jimmy G wasn't a mile. You know, somebody that none of us brought up as Marcus mariota. And I'm down. Mario. I'm not a big guy. Only put Jameis Winston list. But there are still people around football who feel really confident. Are you the guy, Tom? I'm a big mariota guy believed in the titans. Yeah. I just don't think he's. Ever going to be an elite quarter. I think he's a very good above average player. He's not his ceiling Richmond straw jailer. He is way better than you hate rod Taylor. I don't I don't understand why. While the tyrod Taylor is a starting quarterback. That's it. He he's inside the top thirty just barely. And that's all he is best interception percentage in the history. NFL because you never take a chance. I'm just saying. A lot of work in money. I don't know. How old Alex Smith is? But he's on the list. You know, nobody said Jared Goff, which I'm not saying, it's a sure thing you've governor list, and we gotta we gotta pay more attention Darren Omaha. Thanks for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. Well, this is your phone. Have a little talk about Oakland in the train of Khalil Mack. I'm not an open Hobart whatsoever on the Cowboys fan. So I have my own issues that you've been talked about with that. I don't know if it stacks or if it's a lack of receivers he has never get open remains to be seen with Oakland. I'm surprised of how many people are are down on them trading MAC and not pay him. Maybe it's maybe it's context and history. So let me put it this way. So if Pittsburgh New England. Historically. They haven't paid their guys, right? Was that Pittsburgh? I'm guessing they wouldn't have paid. They would have let him go why? Because of jerem Sarwar I and I'm sorry to cut you off because we gotta get matched inch in just a minute. He's going to join us here. So let me and I apologize. Please. Call back in at eight five five two one two four CBS. There's a lot of ways to boil it down. Here's all do in fifteen seconds. And I've heard it from several places it's ever broadcast. I think people have said as a guest on the show. I don't think you are likely to become successful as a head coach or GM. If you make a habit out of trading hall of famers, and my concern is that Jon Gruden and this goes right till we talked about with Matt Patricia the start of the show arrogance is great up until it crosses that line. And then it's a malignancy now just in the organizations for the people who practice it, but the people themselves, and I worry that maybe Jon Gruden by in the hype by in the headlines looking at his Bank account swimming in his Scrooge mcduck vault of cash. Cash and not understanding that you have to evolve and you have to change mcluhan max say start it's not have any compensation to them. Or taken into account what he meant that locker room. Let alone on the football field. I think it's a real problem. All right. But we'll we'll ask mad stints comb who played for Gruden who's coming up in a minute ESPN SEC analyst his view on groomed. But also wanna get a bunch of college. Football talk his takeaways from the first few weeks games. He's looking forward to going to join me Bill Ryder here on righter than you in just a moment after this CBS sports radio update with rich Ackerman..

"And more on Jon Gruden Bray Wyatt WWE? Superstar? Tweets dear raiders why do you betray those most loyalty, you why as. It looks like they're trading Khalil. Mack to Chicago Jason and Kentucky you got some thoughts on, that you're on? The? Robin Lindbergh show here on CBS sports radio what's going. On Jason Are you doing raider, nation good morning. And I'm sorry this is all. About the money fan that's all boils down to and the, saddest part about this The fans in Oakland right now. Are needing meaty championship to be. Brought to them before this? Projected moved, to Vegas comes, in how you've gotta try factor going. On with the salary cap Florida's feeling your revolution to that What we have you. Got Jerry car on his contract Khalil Mack coming up on another one Amari Cooper sitting there in the wayside all that money that is projected to be specked is another. For jacket hall of Famer, coming out if he gets everything going we've got enough weapons on that side of the ball, to, spread things out to say that hey maybe he's not, going to have a thousand yard seasons who knows The dice has, been rolled Fortunate for Gruden and his regime because they just lost the entire. Scheme of that locker room Well to a. Season expecting playoff berth. And then say oh we don't need, the defensive player, of the year it just doesn't happen you just told. The fans of Oakland. And I'm sorry everybody out there is doing. Great work for the homeless stop in. The ground nine to five raider nation does not quit we are not like any other team we don't have an offseason We've already different things at different times. To make sure that the people of. The city are held up What just happened shook the gas. Completely out of expectations of this season so what you're telling the people of Oakland is you're not marine You're gonna wait till the Money Train hits in Vegas Been a. Raiders fan since nineteen eighty-seven with Bo Jackson was drafted I'm almost in tears right now Can we? Hear you cry on the air Man you. Just broke the hearts of housing on people Are you going to be okay dude Yeah man yeah but I I tell you what man we. Gotta poker is coming up? Next. Week Catapulting supplies for the homeless. From North Carolina? Over to. Oakland we're set. To. Meet. The, mayor. As. Soon as, we roll in you know what that's awesome that's like legitimately awesome Jason I was having some fun with your emotion as being a sports fan but congratulations. On on doing that and I'm sorry that this happened to you. Today and your? It happened. To the people. Of. Oakland I'm in Kentucky Brooke Doesn't affect me. Like, it does them well you just said you. Were about to, cry There are people that need hope man and what you just what they. Just did, it because. Of a few dollars that grin could've restructured that ten year contract I'm sorry the cat floor-to-ceiling does not have that much leeway that this man. Deserves, a ten year project without ever proving anything Do you have something you'd like to. Say arm, time at. DSM you'd like to say to Jon Gruden directly I mean he could be listening to this is nationwide If there's something you want? Jon Gruden, here is there one message to Jon Gruden You better bring the heat They go that that's the pressure was already on Jon. Gruden because of his name and because of. The money he was making but. Trade the, teams best player oh boy Business just. Picked up Jay in Alaska Jay you're up. Next here on CBS sports radio. What's up Hey. Man how's it going it's going well what's, up man And I'm forty seven. Years old and I. Did a raider fan my entire life I love. The raiders I absolutely breaking that they are going to. Vegas they will always be the Oakland Raiders in my heart and I think the biggest reason I cannot stand Al Davis is because he got rid of grooten because he couldn't handle. The fact, that, Gruden, was being successful? And where he. Wasn't I mean Stupid trade trade it. All the way to the. Tampa Bay bucks for all those players and. None of them worked out okay so grooten left. The only thing, that made that raider, team good in the last fifteen. Or twenty years so I got to trust the guy he said he was going to. Build the biggest offense. Line in the league right now the raiders of. The biggest offense in the league by twenty pounds he's. Derek Carr already better you can see it in the pre season you could see it in a seven hundred seventy watch the video the guy that offense it's going to be absolutely. Dominant I They're getting rid of Khalil Mack but the. Guy. Wants quarterback money. He's worth quarterback money meter is Donald from the Rams I walk Khalil Mack and in. Oakland but if he can make a. Deal get a player like he like we did where we stole MAURICE hers in the, draft and make that defense at least serviceable with that dominate op-eds. I trust Gruden the guy. Knows how to make an offense work he's. Gonna dominate the time possession all we have to. Do is have, a decent defense and we're going to be in the. Playoffs Well there you go a different. Perspective giving Gruden the benefit of the, doubt there's part of that I understand right the raiders have been a miserable franchise for a long time and the last time they weren't he was. At the helm. The question is was that too long ago and. Is his thought process to dated. In that sense I didn't he say something about how, stats are mumbo jumbo anybody who says that I'm a little. Weary of right because I'm not, saying? That everything is based on statistics nobody believes that but you've gotten so much advanced analytics in, how to cover these sports. And what may, have you know upended conventional thinking in wisdom a little bit through the numbers to? Not use. That as a resource is not using all the. Tools available to you That's part of the evaluation of Jon Gruden and what's going on in Oakland right now and it's a. Fairly stunning thing to see have happened now not only is the money a big factor. We all get, that because the last car just brought it up the kind of money that MAC is going, to get, that Aaron down on just got but from a pure nuts and bolts of it to see a new coach who got paid the way Gruden did To, come in and. Immediately what happens is the best player on the team is shown the door after the off season of comments we saw from Gruden if it's hard not, to have any other takeaway but skepticism how about Brad in Calgary Brad you're up next here on CBS sports radio Hey Men are you very, well thank. You you just made my day breaking that Khalil Mack trade. News I'm a huge Broncos. Fan Yeah that's great guys so many of our games hand is a and I guess I was so happy when Jonker with the raiders. Because he is gonna destroy them just like he did. To, Tampa Bay when he won the Super Bowl with. Tony Dungy team that's all I got hope you have a great day look I think bears fans are having a great day. Anybody who didn't want to see, Khalil Mack is having a great day and I'm. Just not sure what the reason for this I know. The salary factor in but I don't, think it's a total cap issue I think they could have gotten. Them under the, cap it must just be about the dollars the total dollars and more of a cash issue. In that regard and you know look, if it's just. About paint a little bit more to get a super talented, players, services, you're never, going, to, hear, me, say, don't do it. So I don't know exactly what Jon Gruden is doing eight. Five five. Two one two four two two seven continue the conversation I. Also get to every time I have not as of, yet, including a, preview, of, the, college, football, season that after. A sports flash from Peter Schwartz.

"Be there for you even auto one year deal and he didn't mind playing on a one year deal and he went to golden state on that but if he turns out to be boogie cousins i the warriors are probably winning it all anyway now it's just another notch that they took away there's a blockage move they took away the potential for somebody else to make some noise or at least have a threat to them if they were to get to a final or somewhere in the western conference and that's where the nba really has become a disgrace that this is possible tom you're in boston you're on cbs sports radio what's up yeah it was like oh man i feel like cousins go into the league is not a great good going to the liamine lake the warriors the warriors for the league you know i'm in boston expand so i felt like we had a good chance to go up against the warriors even this year right but now that democracy is just unfair even coming off injury i i agree tom and boston celtics fans i actually liked that caught of tom because boston celtic fans and i'm not trying to offend you are now i know i'm offended enough people in boston before you could be quite the arrogant bunch and i don't blame you got money in the bank when you're from the new england area with all your team's winning championships but i felt like the fan base that celebrated lebron to la the most weren't laker fans there were celtic fans feeling alright lebron's out of the east it's our time now the problem is celtic fans are in for the biggest tea season of all time go to the finals because they will get there and have their doors blown off by the warriors and yeah you made the finals you're out in four games enjoy that tees wes is in wisconsin west happy for the july you're on cbs sports radio this is a good topic but i think the nba is in trouble creating the super teams 'cause i don't know why teams from the cities that are very good would even want to go watch noncompetitive team and i think the only way to fix it established heart cap that the nba cannot exceed wes great call you need a hard cap by the way that's three in a row great call and i'm not trying to be crutch their brain points that i think are valid here a hard enough with the soft cap and the luxury tax and do we do we pay over this hard salary cap like the nfl can't go over japan your star this much money and it could be a little different because maybe you're gonna really overpay three stars and your bench is going to be dead awful but a hard cap has to happen now whether you can find some scottish stipulations is if you know when it comes to all star teams and you can have three guys that have made three all star teams and are under the age you know there's there's ways you could try to work i don't know if this would ever work out that way with the players union but you've now allowed jet you've taken this out of general managers hands and allowed the players themselves to text each other and figure out who is going where and make the money work themselves it's like gentleman's you're doing their job anymore excuse me bob myers executive of the year i mean he built that warrior team i understand what they're but wants to rank goes there he's going there because those other three stars were already there i mean a tree stump could have signed kevin durant at that time if that's what he wanted to do was going to championship get away from russell westbrook jay alaska jay you're on cbs sports radio hey what's up yeah hey i think that you know part of the i rather than having the hard cap i think they need to change the way instead of giving you guys each gigantic longterm guaranteed salary should get more the model fell barnes's contract giving some kind of incentive clause if somebody's gotta shoot contract and then they just they'll play well but they know they're gonna get their money stay where they know they can get the max money and they're just robbing the fans and the and the franchise blind and they're not playing while they sell these guys start stepping there came up i wanted to say also.

"Right moments in naturally of the game come to them and have them take over games when steps out there claire draymond green could be the offense of star of the game when durant's out there better be durant if he has an off night it's often hard for claire dream on to find the moment because the ball's not moving to them it's not natural it's little forced an martorana eight on kevin durant i'm not but if you watch game amazing for steph gets guys the ball in the natural course of things durant usually gives the rock up when there's five seconds shot clock can he's double team it's not a good shot and you see clay and draymond don't get is gonna shots when durant is sort of run the offense often through it's like being fifth alltime it's an insult but you're still amazing amazing wars amazing they're not quite the same with steph curry and the music fades out good in radio eight five five two one two four cbs is the phone number let's let's go to j in alaska jay's been holding on jay i'm sorry to make you wait brother appreciate you're listening you're on cbs sports radio no man i was so fired up but i had to wait today no way to get on this whole nba thank man i cannot disagree more i love you bro i love the old school bats the ball we have lost the big men and the game i mean what happened to the days when we used to kick it down to kareem abdul jabbar tomorrow and then he would kick it out to a coup kicking it out and hitting the three we don't do that anymore shack dropping coming in low shack getting the ball they double team and he kicked it out of robert ory who buries the three that's what basketball that that's the beautiful game guys coming down the lane putting it down slamming that ball down and people going crazy and they tried to double team then we kick it out to a wing player who freaking drops three and stabbed you in the heart that basketball now it's all bunch of two guards shoot and getting along rebound they're just running up and down the floor man that ain't entertaining to me.
