Can Toronto Police Itself out of a Homelessness Crisis?
"Jordan heath rawlings. This is the big story. Leilani fara is a former un special reporter on the right to housing. She is currently the global director of the shift which is a movement to secure the right to housing. So the perfect person to talk about what's going on in toronto recently. Hello alani hi there. Thank you for taking the time. Maybe we could just start for people outside of toronto and people who haven't been following it. Tell me about how the city has been handling encampments of an housed people that have formerly at least existed in parks across the city. Yes so with. The pandemic came actually a significant increase in the number of people living in parks across the city of toronto actually across canada. But we're talking about toronto. So i'll keep. I'll keep my comments there. And there are a number of reasons for that but one of them was of course the downsizing of shelters because of the social distancing rules that were part of the prescription to Try to curb the pandemic and so you know. Big shelters became smaller shelters. So let's say there were thirty beds. It might have gone down to fifteen beds. Hundred beds might have gone down to thirty beds and with nowhere to go. A lot of people ended up in parks. There are other reasons as well. As the pandemic ruled on it became increasingly clear that congregate or you know settings where a lot of people reside were becoming Hotbeds of Spread of covert and so a lot of people. Were thinking wait. I think i'm better off even though as really tough living. It's actually some of the living in parks. I actually might survive in a park. Whereas i may not in a shelter and of course we all know. Shelters are really hard places to live at the best of times so so toronto. The city of toronto saw this steep increase in the number of people living in parks and many parks park cats and bigger parks across the city.

The Bare Necessities: Packing for a Walt Disney World Vacation
"We are indeed talking about packing for walt disney world vacation now. Is there even packing strategy. Yes i don't have one. I have one well. I guess i do. I don't think it's a strategy. But i will talk about how i packed. I know you go a little bit more in-depth with your packing well. How can you not go in depth. It's what you need for light. Let me start this episode. Which i've resisted doing for longtime. Because i just don't think packing for disney's big deal soaring and ask you. This question is packing for a disney vacation. Any different then packing for any other vacation. Well yes and no all right. Explain well because you see when you pack for a disney vacation you kind of have to be on just because you also do bring some disney pieces. But then also more specifically we pay for it. Because florida's i mean maybe if we're going to florida it's different but when you're going to disney you are in the parks day or will at least we do it so it's kind of hot. See after like if it during the summer to bring silly tanked up so you have to plan more specifically for disney which is different than when you pack anywhere else and that's because you're talking about the parks yet the park factor to your packing which is even if you're going to be something like you're spending a lot of time there like every single day so you'd have to pack differently when you're doing that and also i just find packing for disney more fun so i would have to say. I have no different strategy. So i'm going to challenge you all the way along the way i pack for disney big or so. We can even go deeper way. Pack for a walt disney world vacation or a disney alani vacation or. It's different even within. It's not for me though reports different for me. It's all the same. I will have the exact same stuff no matter what pretty much unless it's a winter vacation so any vacation where it's warm weather. I pack the exact same way.
Where to Find a Truly Authentic Disney Beach Vacation
"We're going to be talking all about disney's beach resorts and we're talking about disney's i guess. Would we call them their real beach resorts all around the world. Not their photo. Beach resorts at their feet resort feats resorts like that fo- beach and we're talking about places like what disney's beach club resort would be there features are and just a little bit of background. I remember when we talked about the wave pool that was in the lagoon and outside of the polynesian and dick nunez the emad surfer who turned imagine near and when they first opened disneyworld he thought disneyworld had to compete with beach resorts in florida. And that no one would wanna go there because there wasn't a beach so they created beaches and they tried to do surfing. Didn't really work but then later. They added the pool at typhoon lagoon yet and of course they added the beach club resort and tom along they deign has a real sand bottom. But it still wasn't real and when we say beach resorts i guess. Let's put it this way in front beach resorts well all right. Well we'll get into that. So there are you may or may not know three count them three actual disney beach resorts not associated with any theme parks. And we've talked about one on this podcast in the past if you're planning summer vacation hopefully we're all going traveling this summer and you want to go to a beach resort and you love disney. We're gonna give you three amazing options for disney beach resorts and i'm putting them in my personal preference order. You're probably going to agree with my order. I would imagine start with number one. Most important will go first. Okay and that for me is alani lenny desire lani resort and spa in co alina. A wa who hawaii i do you say that. So he no or lena that. So co lena is the little town. This is a true beachfront resort in hawaii. In this episode we're going to focus on the beaches because we're talking about beach vacations. We will do more in depth on the resorts. We've already done one about our number two which will get to momentarily. But if you there's nothing really. That beats a hawaiian beach. What do you think jonah blank blank. So the beach call. Lena is you fly. Into on her lulu. And it's a really short drive right. We definitely rent a car. And i'll get into why that resort alani is right on the ocean in this really upscale town called co alina and it's a little bit of an interesting beach there because it it's very sheltered. They have storm break. So it's not very good for surfing but if you're one of those people that likes to think the ocean is a pool that has no currents at all. This might be for you. Yeah it's of funny. Because i learned somewhere along the way in my travel life that most of resort hotels on islands even barbados in that they build the hotels on the quiet side of the island. But we love waves right. We like big waves. So we'd always have to do. When i was surfing and barbados. You gotta go down to the super bowl's on the other side of the island but all the big resorts are on the calm side. If there is one and co lena's the whole point is sort of like that but actually there's four lagoons dan this strip of land in their man made so they did like you said they built breakwaters and they're sort of like a c shape. It's almost like a donut with a little cutout which is open to the ocean right. So there's water comes in. They are open to the ocean but yes. They're very calm. They're pretty large. I don't know. I don't even know how big they are. But they're big. It's not like people. Yeah and you can rent boats and sailboats. And a few things in there it can take a lot of people and then there's other upscale resorts at the neighbors of alani and there's four of these lagoons and you can walk along the waterfront the rest of the waterfront there sorta rocky so that's probably why was undeveloped in the past and then disney came along and somebody figured out. Hey we can make nice beaches here if we put these little lagoons. So it is a true. Hawaiian beachfront resort. You can swim in the beautiful pacific ocean. It faces the sunset which is really nice. But if you're going to hawaii and if you're going to alani in particular there are many other as ing beaches on oahu. Don't always need to go in a volcano. Guess you don't need to go. What is oh. Amelia wrote a song as a kid going to hawaii in volcano which would be the big island of hawaii not on oahu. But if you're going to oahu and you're going to alani it's a beautiful beach Franck resort will get into all the rest of it and another episode because es cell using storm along. Bay is a good waterpark. Alani puts it to shame. But we're going to save that for a future episode. Pure here for storm. Along is now an official disney waterpark. A resort it sort of water park for among resorts compared to any other pool. That is you know typically pool with a slide. It's pretty much a waterpark. There's a lazy river there. there's a beat anyway. we're not talking about disney's beach club resort. We're talking about disney's true beach resorts on the ocean. But if you go to alanine. You're in hawaii definitely rent a car because there are some amazing beaches around the island and we have three favorites. Yes when we were there and the one one is why of course the north shore's famous the banzai pipeline. Wia me a base of drive to that beach. Any of these things are an hour to ride real easy day trips to go to the beaches and then i call the surfing beach surfing. Beach is kylie loa beach. If that's how you pronounce it pronouncing these the lower something. It's just back on the way back towards honolulu about halfway. There may be and yet. It's it's a real true. Hawaiian bichon little campground part. If you wanna take surfing lessons there it's great. There's great lessons there. The waves are consistent. It's a true open. Beat quite amazing. Little kids surfing. Yeah amazing little kids. Maybe we'll post a picture of usurping on that beach as part of this social media for this episode so that that one's really close great spot to go surfing and then across on the other side of the island is kahlua which is a really cool little town right on the water and they have a really neat beach there too so chi loo beach the north shore and kellyanne lower beach. I think that's how you say it. I may be saying wrong but you'll find it. Those are three awesome beaches. Plus you do have a beach rate at your resort. A nice quiet beach like amelia said. The water's warm there. It's very calm tons of beach chairs. it's it's fairly large semi circle shape. Check it out on a google earth map and you'll see so that is out of ninety eleni hawaii and then another one we talked about. They will be disney's vero beach resort. And i don't know this might actually be my favorite beach if we're talking strictly about the beach hotel. I'd have to say personally. I prefer the air disney's vero beach resort beach than the alani beach lie because it is truly wide open to the ocean. You can't even serve there either. You can on windy days. We have seen people surfing there. You can definitely bougie board there quite a bit. But i'm going to get in just like we did with lonnie there's other beaches nearby but at vero beach resort the beach is you know you're just on the coast there on vero beach so it extends hundreds of miles but there's rarely it's rarely what i would call crowded. No sometimes in the mornings we go on beach walks and watch the sunrise and get bitten by no see'ums. We talked about that in our verbiage. Episode. this is what. I was alluding to earlier if you want to know. More about. The resort in the area listened to that episode a few back but the beach itself. We didn't really focus on and there is a beach house. there where you can rent watercraft sailboats. But you can bring your own boogie boards and you surf and you're within range of bringing a surfboard. It's your subject to the winds really. It's wind driven surf there. It's not nash. Natural surf break but the beach itself has filled with tons of shells and highlight to look for shark teeth. It's weather dependent so days. It's actually quite calm other days. It's very rough. So i liked that personally. I like those open
RegioJet launches train to Croatia
"Was clear early on the covid nineteen pandemic was going to be a disaster for the aviation business, and so it has proved him. It was clear almost as instantly that might be an opportunity for rail travel, and there is at least one indication. This suction has also been proved correct this summer check operator regional jet launched an overnight service from the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the Adriatic coast of Croatia and sold sixty thousand tickets on a hundred and twenty trains join from. Liana with more on this by Molecules Boca's correspondent Guide Alani. Going Festival it struck me anyway at least as an enthusiast. Rail travel and overnight rail traveled. There wasn't an overnight service from Prague Bratislav it to the Croatian coast seemed we'd so is anybody surprised by how successful this has been? I don't know if you look at it in terms of numbers sixty thousand passengers that's getting on for a tenth of all the check tourists who visited. Croatia this summer I mean in a normal season, the be eight, hundred, thousand checks going to the Croatian coast to call it all coast apparently when they're advertising it in the Czech. Republic. So, you're right. It was almost a market waiting to be created a to take that proportion of the passengers going from the Czech, republic, to Croatia, and that's a really stunning success. Because as you say, it wasn't even before and you couldn't actually got a direct line or we was a bit of a struggle as I recall to get a direct line from Lugano to react up, which is where the train was ending up and the train from the Czech Republic on radio jet jet whatever you WANNA call them. That was going through Lubiana so it could potentially be quite handy for me in the future. Is there a perception do you think that people feel like whether it's scientifically the case or not but feel like trains are currently a safe away to travel I guess there's a a feeling that you can open a window that you're not cooped up and breathing recycled air and having to be strapped in neck in close proximity to other passengers. The. Mind be that and it would depend on the train. Wouldn't it? I, mean th that's west. Serbia's trains would be a big advantage which I know you've traveled. that. The clapped-out old rolling stock with opening windows. So mean if I were working for the Serbian railways right now be saying, Hey, our windows open and. Off You go guys as much ventilation as you want I, think regional jets have been trying to. have themselves be marketed as a little bit more upscale even though that ticket prices are very cheap. They've been buying rolling stock from Australian railways and doing atop and You know the the coaches which were second at first class on Austrian railways running as second-class on radio jet trained. So that actually trump be comfortable, not just cheap cheerful and well ventilated and think at the time as well. The the very low numbers of coronavirus infections. In both the Czech Republic and Croatia, seven people talked about travel corridors will what's more Colorado like the train it literally has a corridor on a very often how important will this have been to Croatia this summer pasta because obviously like everywhere in the world reliant on tourism and the Adriatic coast of course, you're certainly reliant on tourism it will have been devastating is this been at least a little bit of a cap on the losses? Absolutely it's helped enormously and the architects were very good as well. If you can imagine these trains arriving Rica and disgorging at every turn hundreds of check tourists getting onto coaches to take them to other places on the Croatian coast. This was the way of saying we're safe and those pictures made it into the international media and as a result Kara's tourism season was down but it wasn't a disaster. God. bacchus correspondent. Thank you as always for joining us.
Mass Media, Markets, and Human Malware
"Hair Eric? My name is even I'm calling from the Boston area. Could you help resolve the media, markets and human malware mobius band? We're told that the media and social media influence our opinions, but at the same time we are told that in this day and age the media is thirsty for our clicks so in effect we tell the media what we want, and they give it to us well, which is, are we the masters, or are they? The same goes for markets. Markets are great. Great at identifying needs and pricing them, but markets also convince us that we need some really bad things as an example, universities want to import cheap labor to do research. This is done to maximize research dollar spent, and this is perfectly rational yet. You have argued that this is a problem, even though the market is doing exactly what it was designed to do. My intuition tells me that human malware seems to be the culprit here, but what exactly is going on I'll leave that for you dancer. Aviv you raise a very important topic. This has come up a bunch of different places. George Soros for example has a famous principle of reflexively which he believes that he can convey to almost no economists. Effectively it is the concept that not only do minds move markets, but markets move minds. That is, if you think you know what's on, and you start to see that the market isn't behaving in any way. That seems to reflect your preconceived ideas. You may change your mind for example. You thought that the world was falling apart thousand. The stock market starts. Capping upwards very confusing to most people, so there's a way in which you have a two way interaction that you would expect. Social media is both dictating our tastes, and it is trying to figure out our tastes so that it can profit from it. At least the people who run the companies that social media is dominated by now What do we do in a situation which tastes formation is not understood for example in economic theory given that all of this market mediated. We have a very long-standing tradition. The tastes are to be treated as given which I think goes back to Marshall. probably the early part of the twentieth century. So, we're not allowed to ask. Why do you prefer to why and what would cause you to change your tastes? In fact wants tastes are given. They tend to be fixed in economic theory. Precisely because the? Economists didn't know enough math to be able to track tastes change. In fact, this is the basis of my research with PM Alani into gauge theoretic. By adding more mathematics, we were able to show that you could continue to compare people's tastes between two different points in time if the tastes the same. We have a big problem because tastes, formation has in fact, eluded any kind of analytic effort within the economics profession, and we are in a market mediated situation. I think we have to take this two way. Relationship very seriously now. John Archibald, wiler once famously tried to take the mathematics of Einstein's theory of general relativity. and. He said Here's how you'd express it. You say that space tells matter how to move. Matter tells space had a curve. While in some sense, this is exactly what is occurring in the two way. Process that you're talking about. That's actually mediated through a single equation rather than two separate equations, so you have a very interesting situation. Are there equations are? Is there new mathematics our new form of analysis that can actually deal with an interacting non linear system in which we are both being influenced by media, and we are influencing media in return, and now when you have a really complicated feedback loop like that. Can you say anything about whether or not? The market will tend towards a positive or a negative social outcome that is is the market going to officially get us to a better place, or is it going to fishing? Get us to a place that we don't WanNa. Be at all. These are the sorts of questions that have been traditionally punted by the academics, and so I think you may not even understand just how profound a question! You've asked We've been at this for a very long time, and it's stunning to us the way in which the economics profession pretends to be. in curious about this. There's a paper by two particular authors both of whom have received the. Prize, that is frequently referred to as the Nobel Prize in economics. Elbow technically is not. and. These authors are Gary Becker and George Stigler and they wrote a paper called Biggest biggest business dispute Tottenham and they argued that tastes should be treated as the same for all men and do not vary over time comparing them to the rocky mountains. The reason that paper so bizarre is that the field is terrified of your question. What happens when you ask that question is that the field may in fact collapse, and it required to people at the very highest levels. Of The economics profession to effectively put a tourniquet on the bleeding that you can expect to stem from asking that question because they didn't have the mathematics or the sophistication to be able to handle it, and furthermore it may very well lead to a check on the power of economists that question does not have a positive answer, maybe markets in fact, lead US right up to the gates of hell so with the economics profession did. Did was that they put in a very artificial claim, which is that you don't need to worry about that? Because tastes cannot, in fact, be altered, this is positively academic nonsense of the worst kind. You'll find this paper in the late nineteen seventies and I have it on excellent authority from a member of economics, profession affiliated with the Chicago Department in which both of these gentlemen worked that. In fact, they did not see. Economics as a free field so much as as a bulwark against. Soviet style communism given when they were writing. Now, if that's true, it means that we came up with an artificial position in order to make the claim that capitalism was superior to communism. Communism was defeated, but modern economists don't necessarily even know that some of these claims were inflated specifically as a political bulwark rather than it's an intellectual contribution. So vast one hell of a question I. Don't know whether you find that. That was one hell of an answer, but Maybe, we should do more on this topic you've raised in the. For having such a an incisive look at the situation.

"The current experiences of the United States should you would think they'd all nations for roll time from allowing celebrities usually entertainers or sports folk loose in the political sphere. It should of course be noted that the US is not not presently unique in succumbing to this fully Ukraine's. President is a comedian Liberia's of football Pakistan's. Prime Minister is a cricketer later. Dozens of lesser offices around the world are held by people who were helped into them buying name recognition acquired in other fields. Well let me tell you something. The answer is clear for the people to win. Politics as usual must lose so things considered it is not that all surprising that a popstar should fancy himself president Uganda Amazon Robert Trigger Alani Santana who performs under the name bobby wine was elected elected to Uganda's parliament in two thousand seventeen he stood as an independent in a by election in Dondo East and one big. I've come the parliament at a very sensitive time. I've just taken an oath to defend resolve and protect the constitution of the Republic Sleep of Uganda and that is going to be my major major goal right now since then wine has positioned himself for the next presidential election due in two thousand and twenty one among the symbols identifying his movement is the red beret worn by whine and his appearance it bears an emblem of of a clenched fist over a map of Uganda and the Motto People Power Our power but not for much longer if a new rule announced by Uganda's the government is observed a useful regulation has been discovered under which it is against the law for civilians to sport military clothing and some units of the Ganden People's defence force notably its military police wear red berries therefore the wearing of the red beret by non soldiers is henceforth punishable by up to five years in the clink. Bobi wine is among those skeptical that this decision is exclusively motivated by a desire to protect the integrity of the Ugandan army's insignia. It is wind said a sham. It is a blatant attempt to suffocate a successful threat to the autocratic status quo. This is pretty obviously correct. It also prompt the interesting question of exactly Walt Uganda's powers that be scared off at which point joint a recap of Uganda's powers that be or more accurately is this area peaceful full in spite of the nobody would start with a piece of Uganda Yoweri Musevenei now seventy five has been president of Uganda since one thousand nine hundred eighty six and plans to run again in two thousand and twenty one by the standards of Ugandan presidents most of any hasn't done a bad job but those standards were set by Idi Amin and Milton Obote both mad and terrible men Mussolini any to his credit played a considerable role in toppling both however as is invariably the case with overstaying and under challenged leaders. Musevenei has become complacent and his government corrupt Transparency International's global corruption index ranks Uganda slightly less bent than as a John which is basically owned by one family and slightly more so than the Central African Republic which is barely governed at all Uganda's population is young young more than three quarters of its people have been born during Musevini's rule and did he is restless certainly sufficiently so to take its chances with sorry pop singer. It's what they bring me. Wine can and claim reasonably that the leap from musician to politician is not in his case a long one. He has been keen campaigner on several issues and many the songs he has recorded in his studio in Cam. What you're a disheveled neighborhood of Kampala have addressed social injustice to the extent that in August he he was charged with intending to alarm annoy or ridicule President Musevini. Yeah this is not the only legal jeopardy presently hanging over wine he also faces charges of incitement to violence and treason and potentially a life sentence. If convicted wine claims that these charges are politically motivated and it would be very far from the first time that Musevini the people acting on his behalf have attempted to arrest opponents into submission invoking article twenty nine of the Constitution. We've got Dante's every citizen the right to assemble and demonstrate we are going to do this peacefully and take me on on the clube wine says he and his supporters. I will continue to wear the red beret. This is arguably a missed opportunity wine cooed by choosing something else. Just striking have have highlighted the silliness of Viennese edict and jettison the baggage associated with this particular item of Hillary in non-military circles. St Red Berry is an almost invariable choice of revolutionary posers and or populist scoundrels from Hugo Chavez in Venezuela to Julius Melena. Amo in South Africa wine would be within his rights admittedly to retort that it costs more of a dash than the disheveled floppy brimmed Bush hat long favored favored by Mussolini and also if it comes to a rap battle on the strength of Musevini's endeavors in this realm wine will up. I'm monocle twenty four amount.

It is like the Ponderosa. So the kennel club's two thousand eighteen nice excited excited, but she up right now. Well, we got to focus on is. We've got to focus on this market. You talk that Santa Claus didn't show up this year that you know, Santa just g ended up short in the market and people don't really understand what that means. People don't really understand the idea that money is made in both up and down moves of the market. And a lot of people individually don't understand how to capitalize in those shorts. And it really is all about direction. Let's take a moment. Let's talk about shorting one of the best in the world to explain it. The average person doesn't it not? They don't understand. They can do it. Well, here's the live Wall Street that up is good and down as bad when it comes to the market. And the reality is up as good and down as good. It's even better when it's down because things happen faster. And they happened just as frequently one of the great things that the best traders investors understand is that the masses will never understand how to profit when the market falls. This is a good time. You know, how to make money when the market falls? So one of the key ways, we do that is by shorting or shorts. Selling see when you buy a stock, you considered long the stock that means you bought it to enter with the goal of hopefully selling it a higher price of making a profit when you sell something to enter you call short the stock. So if we shorted something we're selling something, here's the disconnect, though, a lot of people say how can I sell it? If I don't already buy it. In other words, how can I sell it? If I don't own it one of the great things about the financial markets as you can sell something, you don't own and the most successful traders in the history of this planet have all been great shortsellers. So when we talk about selling something, we don't own what's great about the financial markets is that our broker allows you to use their inventory. In other words, if I open up an account with TD, Ameritrade or Schwab? And I decided that I wanted to sell something without owning it. They'd let me use their stock their inventory if you will to sell into the market now once I sell it. I'm on the hook to buy it back, but I can buy it back at a lower price. And if I buy it back at a lower price, and then I replace it back into their inventory. I made a profit because I sold it at a higher price bought a lower see the key to the market, folks. Lean in is Bi-Lo and sell high. That's it. I know that's not a mystery. But you can do it in both directions. In other words. I can do it selling first and then buying later or buying and selling it higher price. Now, one of the key ways to do that is shorting short-selling. And one of the key things that we could have done over the last few months is shorter to stock called Dana now Dana Dana Inc. They make axles. You said you had data axles in your Jeep and the. Yup. And so they do they're in the automotive industry. They make axles they make drive trains things of that nature. Endangers been around a long time, ticker symbol, D A N. Now, if six months ago Dana was at twenty one bucks a share. Now, if you could foresee that the market was gonna fall, you could profited on the move down because Dana as of the end of this week was at thirteen bucks. A share it moved eight bucks. That's a big move for twenty one twenty one dollars stock. That's almost a forty percent move in the price. And here's the key. If six months ago, you decided that you thought Dana was going to fall in price. You could have gone into the market and sold. Shares of Dana. Now, let's just say you sold two hundred shares your broker would've allowed you to sell their shares because you don't own Dana. You don't necessarily have ever owned. Dana stock you just decide you thought it was gonna fall. So you go into your trading platform. You hit the short sell button two hundred shares now two hundred shares get sold into the market at twenty one bucks a share..
Actor Burt Reynolds, star of 'The Longest Yard' and 'Boogie Nights,' has died at the age of 82
"Matt thanks for joining me talking about the life of an icon in Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds died yesterday at the age of eighty two apparently it was a heart attack heart attack, cardiac arrest said Jupiter. Center down in Florida. And you know, I it was a sad day yesterday. But I gotta tell you what I got home. I said, whatever let's pop in cannonball run and have a laugh, and I just almost two hours straight. I laughed like I was thirteen years old again because that's the thing with Burt Reynolds for people like me of a certain age when we were kids, and we were watching cannonball, run smoking. Yeah. On on HBO at all hours and everything we wanted to be the bandit. We wanted to transam. We wanted to turn on the charm the whip that left wait a slap Dom deluise around whatever the man had presence. He was the definition of the movie star, and we're going to miss them. Absolutely. It's so funny. You say that my husband called me yesterday. And I said, hey, how are you? When he goes not so good. And I go why what's wrong, and he goes the bandits gone. And I said only God are you serious? And to the point. I see what you're talking about that we have on our Christmas tree transient. We have the car. My husband's from Georgia. We've actually stopped on roadways where he knows smokey and the bandit was filmed and taken a picture of Scott standing some random corner. But that's how important a lot of Burt Reynolds movies were to a lifetime of people. Right. And it's not just the passing of an individual. It's it's the passing of a certain era in film. I mean, how Needham films like smoke in the bandit, cannonball run that sort of thing again, th they they help to find a very very specific era of pop culture there. But when you go back and you look at birds body of work. I mean, even from his early stuff and gunsmoke, and then, of course, deliverance, I mean, he was an absolute bad ass in deliverance. Okay. And he could go from the dramatic to the comedy in a blink of an eye. And you know, what he was his own. Worst critic if you read his book from a couple years ago, it's called but enough about me. It's a really great memoir. He said that he didn't open himself to new writers or risky parts. I wasn't interested in challenging myself as an actor. I was. Interested in having a good time. And he certainly did. I mean, but years later, he said that you know, that probably didn't serve him. Well, and then when he makes a movie like boogie nights, and he gets nominated for for kademi award. He gets the Golden Globe. Or do you know that after he saw initially he fired his agent because he thought he was terrible in it. Meeting. You imagine that. I mean, that's the kind of the guy that he wasn't. He was his own worst critic. And then in later years, you know, in the nineties down in Jupiter. He opens the Burt Reynolds theater, he starts teaching masterclasses and acting and a friend of mine by name, Tracy Johnson. She's an upcoming actress she had a really great post on Instagram, and I just want to read this really quick a very sad day. The world has lost the best the best actor the best teacher, the best mentor, the best friend and the best human being. That's how we want to remember Burt
