Now the all taking over the suicide squad going forward. He's in for one and he's doing peacemaker. There's been no news about any future once. I imagine They don't wanna do anything until they see how. Suicide squad actually does that We already talked about the whole wonder woman release date. What's unknown right now is whether or not we'll be able to watch. It was straining in canada. It's streaming in stream that. Hbo max issue. Max isn't in canada however. Hbo as a fairly comprehensive deal with bell media so most of their stuff ends up on crave here. I don't know whether going forward stuff like titans for example will end up on crave. I don't think so because they cut a deal with netflix. For that one yeah so gets very convoluted for example So far there's still no mainstream way to watch Hellstrom the one of the last gasps marvel television here in canada. It's nowhere and it's also unsure when new mutants goes streaming in the states. it will be. Hbo max because of a deal fox so hbo. Max gets first crack at any fox properties. That i i guess started before the merger disney but internationally it's supposedly will be on disney plus. It's hard to say whether accounts internationally for the most part they consider our box office just an extension of the us. So i done things of living to the north of the biggest so but they all need foster thing. Just come back for a second. It's very disappointing. example corporate stupidity especially because it just seems extremely stephen. I have no idea why they think they can get away with saying at the cut. The benefits not the obligations. It makes no sense also l. d. foster fan for quite a while. I don't actually have any of his Mobilizations like his stuff. But i have all spells novels which are great and somebody ought to turn that into tv show. I think the the cost of music rights might be somewhat discouraging info and also had several of his standalone levels You know he's he's good and you know nobody deserves to be treated like that. "So that was cool to get to see him on the show. But is he really? Yeah, Because I'm gonna watch knows that they show up. They showed some spire highlights and you get to see a You see Isaiah on there a little bit, okay, but Here's the thing. I mean, it's a terrible situation if your kids were against, you know, because in the show you can really see LaVar really does care for his Children. And we've seen that he goes on first taken battle, Stephen A. Smith, saying that his son is better than Steph Curry. I mean, I'm sure that's just to get his name out there, but but still, But he still cares about his kids. He cares about the success of his all three of US kids. Despite Jell O ly Angela ball, the middle son being an absolute bomb. I think I cannot write. Uh, Is he still stealing? Oh, that was so dumb. He might. He might be in with a foster. What about maybe a conspiracy theory that he infiltrated the Big Baller brand case and got him false and Ellen Foster involved. Who knows? But Jell O, But I think I could, 77 right now off the court. That's another story, but but the moral of story is that LaVar ball there's there's got to be something wrong with this man. Alan Foster spent seven years in prison for money fluttering over $4 million to church families. So that's the guy you want. Families like you're no virgin. My money. You're not around my money. So if you could steal from church families, people who are trying to do good with Lord who knows what you're capable of, and he spent seven years and that's not his only case. He also caught a case for Having a possession of a firearm and betraying his probation. So, Alan Foster when I look at this, man, I'm seeing Proven full blown criminal. And you're LaVar did was he handed the keys and that he handed the password to the safe of a bank robber and This. This whole thing came out in October when ah, Juan's those accounted sentiment emails, saying there's $2 million missing from your account. And so Lanza was just trying to start for the Lakers. He was strained. Ah! The season up and he said, LeVar Q. Please take care of this forming and Levar was like, Oh, yeah, I'll do it. Ah, yes. Stay in your lane I got and he and he doesn't Look at it until last week, and I watch the I watch the show. Alan Foster is a huge part of He's one of the main characters of ours right hand man, not anymore, and he's gone. It's pretty funny because people say what goes around comes around. And when you say that your son's better than Steph Curry better than LeBron James, and you put all these you've called Charles Barkley. You're a fat pig. Stay behind the desk and eat those doughnuts was his exact quote. Maybe LaVar, you can buy yourself a toothbrush and shut up and we never want to hear LaVar Ball is a complete disgrace. You just handed the keys over to a proven criminal you let and he really stab his own son in the back. I mean, it's terrible. I hope that they cannot restore their relationship. But the moral of story is that LaVar ball. Is there something wrong with him? It's terrible situation. I mean, Absolutely horrible. Alan Foster should be ashamed of himself. He's a he's a walking Satan. I don't know how you could feel money from someone honestly, let alone the church van. Sure, that's that's messed up. That's one way ticket right there. If you ever if you ever question where you're going Do something about that Alan Foster. And it's not gonna like the results. Especially down there now. Yeah, yeah, on foster. Can he handle the he? I don't think so for eternal fire from stealing from church. 899 39385 on FM one, A 1.5 in a M 1401 foster stealing $2 million from Lonzo Ball.

"So I I don't know I guess it maybe a referendum on that. Like, do you think that helped or hurt? But Matt I'm actually kinda I'm with you on that in the sense that you know, they don't seem to be very well positioned for any of the top guys right now. I just doesn't seem to be a loud buzz about that. I don't think it really matters. If you get a nother star they position themselves to try to get another store, but they need basketball players like the idea of bringing everybody on these one year deal. Like you've been a player in the league that doesn't usually work. I mean doesn't work as a successful team building strategy. Like, you can't run it back this year with the kids wondering if they're gonna get traded at a bunch of vets on one year deal wondering where the next paycheck coming from this the work Ramona shelbert ESPN NBA insider, mama mama with this year. Is this a mov- considering what we know about what LeBron set on the shop right about his perception of magic is this a move that just had to be done at this point. Because LeBron probably doesn't have people he perceives as allies in the building or people. He absolutely trusts. I think he trusting bus. I I know they've been Denner, and they talk, you know, they have ever noth- of connection. Just LeBron straight to ownership that, I frankly, I don't know if the bronze ever had that and his entire career, right? Like, I don't think he had that that door open, you know, Miami. Or even definitely not Cleveland. Right. So I think he's got a level of trust. But I think LeBron was bigger than the game at this stage in his career. Like is my perception is like he kinda be kinda do whatever he wants whatever he wanted. And the only real concern for him is are you gonna get the players around him that he can win because he'd gotten. So he's gotten so big that the only thing that can really hurt him is just is not delivering on the court. And I think that's gotta be his biggest return. This story was magic quitting on like. I mean, he didn't come here for magic magic help. Okay. But like it's not like if magic was president of the. Is he Merom woulda gone there to play August? You know, we he just was a guy and it helps their q rating, but I think LeBron was coming to the Laker garland. Ramona you had to sit on that story for a long time. And the story I'm talking about is the one with Lonzo ball, the family Alan foster, all at I know, you just couldn't wait to just, you know, let everybody know. But obviously the sources were finally vetted in we got a chance to finally hear from Lonzo non NASCAR ball talk on the shop this weekend. Did he let us know pretty much a lot of kind of what was going on. Or maybe it was there a little bit more than he kind of left out. He said more than he said. That add more than he's previously said publicly. But I think there's there's a level of engagement that Mondo had in this that like, you know, as I was reporting this, and and and I would I would say like the reason why chokes long to get a story like that out is because we there's a major legal review that you have to go through on this, right? The events were sort of unfolding as I was reporting it, right? You can't I as I was reporting on that story. It was like months of reporting. Right. You know, we we saw each other knew what was coming. But like it was there was a hot that that played out in real time where because I was doing a story. I mean, I had to write about Nick knowledge into story, which like I went to Lonzo and said, hey, did, you know did Alan foster ever tell you about his background, right? And he didn't know he had no idea. But he he had been warned about what's happening with financing the past. I think it set off a series of. Events of Lonzo checking into things and taking control of his own responsibility is on his own business that hadn't been there before I would say stuff with him talking to dad's saying his dad got that that that quote where he said my dad got real quiet..

"Adventures then game with me Mason, Ireland ESPN LA. No, no, never go. Another bobak. Hey, what is going on in this Friday? And you know, that always means it fried. It's right. You've got headphones Mico 'cause we're talking to mobile hanging out. Because a nasty moma's on the line. So gimme Momo. Gimme a summary of your article. I did read the entire thing because it was very concise. Short. But describe what's going on with Lonzo. So his his longtime ages been harassing gains. Harrison's a a young guy from the inland empire who had been at age of it. Lonzo was really his first client, and then Harrison is like the only person of part of the entourage who never joined the big baller brand. Right. Like he didn't get absorbed into that. He did his own sports agency. And I think the way things have been going. I think that not only is big baller brand probably going to stick around. But I think there's going to be reimagined and built out Rouge bigots stood. No, I actually think the opposite. I think there was a time. There was a from what I understand. There was a meeting where they all kinda didn't they all thought it was gonna be dead because to get rid of Allen foster who owns sixteen percent of the company kinda sometimes it's easier just have to go away. But I think they they did not dissolve the company and they're. Suing foster, but the company still exists. Yeah. For right now, it's still exists. And it sounds like lavar at least and Lonzo is, you know, riding along with us right now wants to keep big baller brand going. He said as much in his speech at the all-star game. And there's he's been meeting with other agencies on who will help him reimagined big baller around. So Harrison gains who had his own agency has other clients and had never really been part of big baller brand doesn't fit. What lavar in the way reimagining of the company that's going on right now wanted so that means lavar is still in the driver's seat. When it comes to lonzo's career. For right now. Yeah. That's what it seems like an, and I don't wanna make it seem like there's beef into family 'cause I know Stephen a at one point early on there. A strains I don't think they're strange at all I think that Lonzo, you know, gave a very nice statement about Harrison gains, who's a friend as much as his former agent, but Lonzo these he's Tuesday's debts. But that you know, that is understandable, right, Michael. I mean, you can, you know, lavar loves his voice. And whether that's you know, he's he's still twenty one years old. You have to remember how young he is. And how influent who has dad is? And once you know, things wouldn't want the dust settled with Alan foster situation. They all kind of took a breath, and and are thinking rethinking things, and it's not that shocking to me that this happened..

And we on dump people town said this to Dan van Kirk, and he did it and he is now doing it. And he is now headlining doing stand up all over the place. I think Jason I think you should have your own podcast where you sit down with a athletes. I mean, again, look at your access Derek Halden calls you, and you're like you're going there. So you go to a game. And and people come through all the American League teams, come through Anaheim, all the and you can get on a spring training. And knockout a bunch of guys all the people come through nationally teams come through Dodger Stadium. You could get down there and get access you sit down with and it doesn't have to be longer than twenty or thirty minutes with an athlete with. A major league baseball player current or, you know, current player or it could be the CJ Wilson of this world friends of yours who retired and you do a podcast called. What's your stance? Whereas all these like great questions that people that are the most burning questions in the world of baseball. And then they get to if they want through the gauntlet of what you ask them. Then they get to ask you you can do three stances for them including their own including their own. What's your stance? All right. You heard it here trademark I want you to do it. All right. So we happen. Do. Some crickets. All right, Lonzo ball severs ties with his big baller partner. Alan foster, he can use sever ties of your last name. No, no, no. The guy's name is Alan foster. I guess is is I guess the guy is apparently stolen millions of dollars one point five million dollars disappear, which I get this is the point which you say, okay, when we're messing around in our friends could be our business managers. Right. But then once things get real money is there you kinda don't wanna let your like that guy worked for the company, but you can't let them handle. I'm assuming Allen foster does not know how to use QuickBooks is that wrong wrong assumption. Nobody could have seen this coming. So here's the question. I don't know if you saw that he had the big baller. Yeah. Tattoo that he changed into like dice dice, which to me a little dicey. I mean, how do you show like you gotta wear sleeves? Now. Every time you're around your. I mean, it does feel kind of like they're that train. They tried to cash in his heart as they could on of that. And then soon as that train was that this is realized who he was that gravy train is over like LeBron came in and just kind of destroyed all these kids I was in a Bakersfield Ross yesterday. And there was a lot of Lonzo baldur's. I've sure dress for that's not even a joke. That is no joke may have been marshals literally bald on my. Don't lie. I mean, just is what it is. "I mean, you can go down to Tiger Woods. You can go to magic. You can go to 'em jet. You can go down the line of athletes in every major sport in. He has a personal relationship would would all. And it's almost an unwritten rule when he's at the press conference. He is the first call yet. Oh, no. You do not he's earned that you do not jump on that first on the front. He's like in the back side. But you know, the thing that trust me out when he does question is Jim hills from, you know, channel to CBS sports like, we don't know. Who you are Jim. Introduce yourself just say I have a question, but he gets that first question. And if he's not there like if he's running late, we wait wait for Jim to show up, and when when that evolved send and he gets the first question when our first interview would whoever he wants, yes waste comes. He wants us to local godfather and on top of it the nicest guy, Jim who is the Saudi are. I mean, he I mean, like, I said, you know, Magic Johnson took me under my wings. When I came in LA when I got traded to the Lakers and him him. And coop finally accepted me, you know, after about three weeks or so of them trying to beat the crap out of me and price and everything when they accepted me magic manages wings. But after every game of talking to Jim hill and getting to know, Jim he was at next guy. They kind of told me about how you know, how how to handle the media and things of that nature, and he was just unbelievable and been great for ever since. So there's been the store for the last week or so involving Lonzo ball and big baller brand. And the discuss. -very that one of the co founders Alan foster has not been able to adequately adequately. Explain one point five million dollars. That is missing that lonzo's personal money, and it's led to a Ramona Shelburne been all over the story among other people, but that big baller brand may dissolve. We we know that Lonzo has been distancing himself from big baller brand whether over Instagram weather per- public statements, but he made a very drastic decision. Byron in terms of further putting himself away from big baller brand. He had a triple be tattooed on his forearm. And he went into the shop a couple days ago, it would appear and or maybe even last night, and he turned the BBB into a paradise. And now on his forearm. He's just got this red and black paradise where the BBB the triple be used to big have you seen this yet? I have not seen the tattoo. I have read the stories of him distancing himself from the BBB. Big baller brand showing Byron right now detect too and also it's. Wow. Okay. Helps multicolored Eddie because remember the NBA the NBA had to he had to cover the triple be up during the games because it was advertisement. Right. Right. Wasn't related to the NBA. So no longer have to do that. I gotta say you got to be really really mad at the situation going on to say, I'll put these two dice on my arm and the rest of my life permanently because I'm sorry. There's no way around these are Jenky dice. Yeah. Yeah. But he says not good word not want to be associated big baller big baller brand anymore. And for me. Honestly when I heard this. I was saying kudos to him. Yes. Kudos to him for kind of distancing himself from all this situation. And I'm also looking at the shoes going is this the reason you've been springing your ankle so often for so many times in the reason now obviously season's over with? Because of the way shoes being made so in. But I mean, obviously, the biggest part is worth one point five million. Yeah, you know, that he personally put into it. So sounds like a lawsuit coming on, you know, somewhere down the line as far as I'm concerned. I you listen to Caspian, Los Angeles..

"Big baller brand ESPN LA Sodano show. Andy candidates Ona's soak in four Georgia. Thanks again to Byron Scott for hanging out the last couple of hours and confirming his tail with Michael Thompson, believable, which was by the way confirmed again by Jim hill and nobody's going to call. It djamil. No kidding me. You right. He is the godfather how long did it take you by the way because for people don't know, you're from the east coast. Yeah. How long did it take before you realized like Jim is the godfather of this? I knew that when I would come as a visitor with say the nets or the New York Knicks or anything like that. And you just kinda new you know, you could see you could see the respect you could see the professionalism. That's the one thing too. When you see in the profession. Stands out right away that in the suits. Yeah. Like, I picture him playing golf in a suit guy. Just don't ever picture him. Not in a suit because he's just he's impeccably dressed. Also, just really nice. Yes. And that is I think that is the thing about him is that despite his stature despite everything he's experienced despite everything he's done. He'll still like he, you know, he welcomed me in and somebody new to Los Angeles. And I'm very grateful for that. I'm so there's a situation going on we know Ramona Shelburne among others break in the story about the rift between Lonzo ball and his dad and big baller brand in the money that his missing now on counted for an account of Alan foster, one of the co owners of the brand and Lonzo has been actively moving away from big baller brand weather in terms of social media statements or public statements. But also he took the step of getting a tattoo or getting worked on on a on a tattoo. That he had a big baller brand the three Bs and you talked to him about this. Yeah. I mean, so the thing is it kind of started to go viral little bit yesterday before the game. And so, you know, you never know today if something's Photoshop or not because it, and I didn't doubt it I just needed to check with Lonzo. So I asked him, and he confirmed that he did cover it up. And so, you know, I think he is in a situation now where he is trying to distance himself from big baller brand. Which is a little, you know, I it's a little sad. Because a he somebody took money from him. Okay. Somebody family, trusted and allegedly. I'll put that in there. And until it's totally proven. But you know, I think to see everything that they kinda poured into starting this brand which became something. And a certainly like we would go on the road last year, and we would see little kids where big baller brand shirts on the road and things like that people went out of the way to really try and get these. Alex, you'd see their pop up shops, there'd be long lines in various cities to kinda see kind of maybe start to disintegrate this ways. And he's about the country too. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. But with that being said, I will say this. I kind of gotten the impression I'm watching Lonzo ball grow. Yes. And and I think I as somebody who's covered Lonzo ball on kind of seeing him kind of he was always mature to from the get-go..

"I one point went to Lonzo a couple of weeks ago because it was March six we've talked to the nuggets game. And I said, hey, just wanna ask some questions about the, but the company and and about the guy you're in business was did you did he ever tell you a criminal past? What do you think of? I know I've heard that the Lakers have asked you about the shoes that you're wearing whether they contribute to injuries. And he acknowledged both things he's at I conversation. And that he'd had conversation with the Lakers about the shoes and how they're playing into his injuries. And so we started to go with the story there. And then here's lavar didn't know about Alan fosters criminal past. I can't say one way or the other. If I know even but it appears that way. Okay. I know that I asked lavar for comment last a hopeful week before we wrote the story. So he knew for at least the last week, and they over the course of this last week Lonzo ball started looking into things. Yup. And his manager Darren more started raising some questions about how his business had been set up by own foster and the way that those tax liabilities were being accounted for he had questions there. And Lonzo started talking to the old financial adviser who had raised all these issues and then last week in the middle of last week, he severed ties with on foster, and he did it independently of his dad who later came around and said, I support so and there's a statement in the. Ori- from that. But the fact that he did that independently from his dad, it's pretty interesting on top of that he removed all social media posts that included either big baller brand or his dad. So the story ran on Friday night Saturday is when Lonzo was a Saturday or Sunday Saturday night was when Lonzo did that. And today his manager Darren more put up a Instagram story. Yup. And they're saying hashtag dump your merch. And that is a callback to what Darren has said on the show all the time. He's the get your merch guy. So I, you know, I know that the ball family has had discussions about about folding big baller brand and distancing themselves from all things that foster has touched in their financial world. But there's a lot of legal entanglements and things that they're going to have to sort through before they do coming up next the relationship between Lonzo and lavar moving forward is going to be very interesting. Follow. We'll talk about that coming up. So I never believed in the. Lavar ball circus. Now is that something's not right there? Something's not right. And we're now finding out the inner workings or the internet on workings of what's going on with the big baller brand. It may be shutting down entirely. There was a convicted felon who became part of this inner circle of the people that were running big baller brand. Lonzo was not aware that lavar probably wasn't aware that this guy was a felon went to prison for mail fraud, and and money laundering. And it appears as though one point five million dollars is missing..

"We should do our own agency. You gotta let me do it. Well, lavar ball did yell at Allen foster run every business associated with the ball family, including big baller, the junior Basketball Association, the water the all the other stuff they've been doing it. As it turns out foster had been sentenced to more than seven years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of mail fraud and to counter money laundering, as part of a scheme that defrauded seventy investors of four million dollars that was in two thousand two right? So he gets out of. Prison. I think he served about five years of the seven year seven plus years eighty it was eighty seven months I served around five years but gets out and then has another parole violation in two thousand nine for something. We can't tell what the parole violation was four. But he went to jail again for five months, and he was known that time has Gregory Allen foster, which is why win initially when we all background at him. We didn't find it. We would background Alan foster, and I remember doing that. And I just find a bunch of addresses and documents were incorporated big baller. But he's you know, in charge of all the companies couldn't find too many previous records for and you know, that's because he the time went by Gregory Allen foster. So when you background Gregory fussy find a lot more well gets out of the second prison stint in two thousand nine and pretty shortly thereafter meets the ball family through his son Enzo who is a friend of Lonzo ball's to this day. I believe Enzo and his father are estranged. So. That's not a that's Lonzo is legitimately friends with Enzo that wasn't like on Foster's kit. Correct. So. You know, they start the big baller band and everything is going along. Remember, it was a it was a hype machine man, it was big baller brand speak everything into his existence ended up on the Lakers. Great showman. Exactly. They start the big baller brand before the NBA draft. And and then he magically SP did speak it into existence. Lonzo was the number two pick in the graft and joined the Lakers, and the big baller brand sort of began to build from there. So they we started to see sort of cracks in the armor when the Better Business Bureau received a ton of complaints about them. You know, what crack I saw. He never got paid for shoes. And then they never showed up my house dispute it with my credit card companies. Did you get your money back? I did. But there was a lot of those. Yes. And they received an F rating by the Better Business Bureau. I we call the FTC and they had over two hundred complaints in the first year. You know, there was a lot of they even covered on the Facebook show. There's one episode where Lonzo Darren. More his manager are looking into like how come people aren't getting the shoes? They're not getting the right shoes. That's problem. When you started companies people order stuff, they paid a lot of money circle ninety five dollars for shoes. And they're not getting the right size together. And so it just you know as a reporter. I just kept after looking into this because that's what you do. And in the last couple of months, I had discovered that there has been a there was a financial advisor who had raised serious concerns about how the company was being run and the counting for the company. He raise it with lavar ball and Lonzo ball in October. And then again in November at one point the financial managers, and he was humble Lokonga. He represents like e so Ray and Aaron foster. De'andre Hopkins like has a lot of professional clients. He actually resigned as Lonzo ball's financial advisor after sending an Email that said, urgent one point five million dollars. Can't track down where one point five million dollars in cash has gone. And that Allen foster would not show any invoices or documentation for expenses has a pretty strongly worded Email. Yeah. But it did not get enough attention at the time for them to act on it other than have a couple of conversations but Alan foster continued to run all the ball family businesses, and lonzo's financial businesses and over the last couple of weeks..

"We are gambling. We are. It's I'm competitive anytime. There's like in our fantasy basketball league right now. Georgia's in it. I've now got an eight point lead on George Flint. Yup. Excellent. Only goes to George how you work in basketball. Yup. Because I see it in basketball. I'm sorry baseball. Yup. Because in the summer in less, I'm in it. Like, let's say I'm in the top, you know, like close to the money, right? The top three places. I kinda you know, I I play, but I'm not, you know, down to the wire every single night picking up guys to try to pick up on a wire every ninety minute the N last year, and you were still beating me out for players on the waiver wire up until the last few days. I'm like LeBron. I'm not going to cheat the game. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not gonna cheat the respect that I respect it c- respecting while LeBron's doing. I thought he was gonna shut it down last week. I did too. I thought that might be it. And instead he went out and has triple double triple double there. Thanks. Here's what LeBron James said. Just my love of the game. You know, not to myself, you know, and obviously, you know, you know, with the fans continued on the show up even over noon. I know we're not making the playoffs. You know, by me on it to myself on a McAfee gives to our fans when I'm out on the floor. So you're not just appreciate him continuing to show up, and and they are still showing up. And did you see his Instagram post where you say I'll tell you about it next Mason Ireland Momo in for Johnny ESPN LA. I s panel Mason Ireland Papa was a Rolling Stone. There's a Papa in the news today. It is lavar ball Momo who's filling in for John has broken. A major story about lavar ball and a guy named Alan foster who worked his way into the family into a circle of trust. And ultimately allegedly may have taken one point five million dollars out of the company. So Lonzo ball belief that he issued a statement to that effect in the story that we wrote on Friday night one is financial planner guy. Humble, the conga conga pointed it out, right? So the way this unfolded is that over the course of, you know, the inter doctors I've seen looks like this took started taking place since last April that the warnings started coming the warnings really escalated around. October when Lonzo had already filed for an extension on his taxes, and the financial visor says, we really got a sort through this money that can't be accounted for because if you file tax return. And you can't account for this that you're you're you're gonna be in trouble. Right. And so rather than fire that tax return this financial advisor resigned right because he can't ethically..

"How do you hand the keys of your entire operation to somebody who spent seven years in prison for mail fraud and money laundering? And then how does it take so long to figure out what's going on? Finally, the financial planner said, hey, there's a hunt. There's a million five missing here. Did did they knew no vetting process on this Allen foster doesn't sound like it, you know, he'd been a family friend for almost a decade. He and so Alan foster is son is named as Endo. He's a rapper. He goes by Enzo MC fly. Okay. Just a little while ago. He and Lonzo actually released a song sexy. Kind of a good song. It's called vibes. You should play it as one of our rejoinders. And he and he and Lonzo a friend. So that's they they met. I think in the seventh grade. So I'd have been about two thousand ten two thousand eleven in launch. Okay. And so Alan, lavar, just got to be really good friends. And I have a quote in the story from back when I did a story on the ball the first big baller story. Right. Like the first one I wrote not the first one anyone wrote. But the first one I wrote it was a cover story in the magazine when he's coming out of UCLA, and it was actually before he went to Lakers. Right. And this was like when the VAR started saying he's gonna go the Lakers, I'm gonna speak into existence, and then it actually happened. It was amazing. But in the course of reporting that story he told me about Ellen foster. And he told me his description of him was basically that lavar had all this creativity. He actually had named his personal training business. Big baller. And they and Alan had heard. I guess they were printing shirts said unbelievable. Yeah. And no other slogans. Working the family name into into t shirts and things like that. And Allan heard into. You know, your creativity is crazy let you know. You're just going to go to some other agency. And they're going to steal all of your, you know, it's not steal argument. But like, take all your great ideas and all this stuff. And then they'll make the money. Not you. Let's do it. Let let's let's do it as a business. Let's do it is let's do it ourselves. And you know, all run the all run the business, and I think the exact quote was, but you have to let me do it. Right. So I re- always remembered that quote, and I've went and onto my old transcripts from that interview. And listen to it again. And it was like it when you listen to it again, you realize. Well, this goes back a long way. Yeah. And one of the things Steve that I think is really sad about the whole story. There's there's a lot of things that are said about the whole story. But it seems from conversations I've had with a lot of people were going to have a guest on around one o'clock who can speak to this further that Allen Foster's presence at the company and with the ball, family and power and influence really seemed to grow after Tina ball, lonzo's mom had her stroke, really what a dirtbag move that is awful. Awful. So. When lonzo's mom had her stroke that was when Alan foster leaped in. Well, he had been friends and they had all had converse quite power position. In terms of this. Tina ball had her stroke in Lonzo senior year UCLA freshman year, and he was you know, playing a member right in the middle of the tournament. Yep. He gets asked about it. This is also the time when they're starting to figure out what's he gonna do you gonna go with Nike's gonna go with Dita's or we're going to do big baller brand. Or we get you know, they starting to design the shoes this is all the kiss freshman year. They all knew us one and done is going to be a lottery, pick, etc. And so I've heard it described like, they, you know, had meetings. Discussions I I literally over to their house right after UCLA had been eliminated, and lavar had the I t shirts of big baller. Brad. Actually, I think I still have one. It was like a mockup are photo. Shoot was. So in the big baller shoes. You know with big insurance..

"Never got him last year. I looked at the property records for the ball state that you see on the Facebook watched show, and it was for five point two million dollars. But then very quickly. It was refinanced for half of that. And in other words, half the equity was taken out so Lonzo pay cash for this and then took half the equity out where did that cash go? And why that's not how you would do something. And it just it just didn't small right to me as a reporter. And I just said, you know, I have to be responsible to keep after this reporting because I and everybody else at ESPN where part of the hype machine that that this and this is part. Of our responsibility as journalists who continue to investigate to keep doing it. And so that's where the story came from. Okay. So it first came to light through a financial planner. It looks like then they work with named humble Lou conga from lifeline financial group who sent an Email with the subject line, urgent one point five million dollars. Kanga wrote that he had been unsuccessful in tracking down where one point five million dollars in cash had gone and that Alan foster refused to show any invoices or documentation for expenses. And this is when this was back in October. It sounds like this is when the ball family really started to question exactly what was going on with Alan foster. Here's my question did lie did lavar no of Alan Foster's past criminal record. It doesn't. Seem like it. And it doesn't seem like that. You know, I gotta be he put a statement out. Right. Obviously. Devastated. You put your trust in somebody. And I know when I first asked lavar about this, and it was. A full week before the story ran. So he knew as of then I know that Lonzo ball had several conversations with lavar about Allen foster after the Email from the financial advisor in November. I know that so whether or not he knew the criminal pass between November. And when I text message and called him last Friday. I don't know. I can't say for sure, but he certainly didn't act on it. And he certain he certainly didn't do anything about it. And I think that is the most I can say right now because I don't I can't tell you because I don't know. But he there were certainly red flags that were warnings there were conversations with his son where son asked him to look into things. So I, you know, I what do you say that? I know that when Lonzo and lavar spoke last week, and lavar finally came around and said, I support you I feel betrayed yada excetera the statement, you know, he said he. He hadn't really reviewed those emails Yan really dug in on it. But Lonzo in lavar at conversations with about this several times over the past few months. So how much he know? And when I don't know when I told Lonzo about the when I asked him about the criminal pass. Did you know that I genuinely believe he didn't know that? No, I believe you. I was face to face. So. Yeah. No. That makes sense the question. My question is did lavar. No. And there's no there's no definitive answer on that. All right. So and your reporting now, you're able to say here that the big baller brand is they're considering folding it all together. There were plenty of signs over the weekend that Lonzo was done with the big baller brand because he put up an Instagram post on Saturday night, the caption reads moving onto bigger and better hashtag, my own man picture is of Lonzo with his number two in the rafters at Staples in the picture says it's only crazy till you do it which was the slogan for Serena Williams Nike campaign. So I think it's fair to say he also changed his social media pictures..

"I don't know if he's the big the ball or the brand, but the triple bees about to be to beat. And according to other reports, it might just be one big lamelo has looking at leaving the brand as well. Yeah. In the Alan foster, who's accused of misdirecting this money. He's also has an ownership stake in this thing as well. So it's very intricate and convoluted and confusing, and again, the idea of triple triple b brand are to say the idea of triple b not the heart is an interesting one the idea of you know, what I'm not gonna sign with Nike or Adidas, I'm gonna I'm going to do this by myself. I'm gonna create my own brand. I'm not going to share in the profits of this. I'm gonna keep it all for myself. The problem is they didn't it didn't these were not the right guys to do. It. Clearly, if this is where we are. And it's a bit of a cautionary tale moving forward that there's a reason that Nike does this for people. There's a reason that Dita's does this people because it works. The guys get maybe you don't get all of the money, but you get a lot of the money, and they they have a structure in place, and there are agents that have connections with these this. This is the guy that's run a shoe company for this player this player. This pair this player in all those guys have all their money from what they're I just feel a lot more comfortable and a lot safer, and that's just my disposition. I'm gonna go with the share thing. I'm not going to bet big if I can get close to big on a sure thing or all of it on a maybe I'm gonna take the slightly smaller number, but it just it's just sucks for Lonzo. That he got done like this cared money. Don't make money. I get it. That's why I was so supportive of the initial push for this. Because I know when I was playing basketball, I was brought was launched lonzo's age. I never owned a pair of Under Armour anything nothing. You know, why the company didn't? Exist every company whether it's Nike. Is.

"LeBron James next. Speaking of those embarrassing Lakers. Lonzo ball has severed ties with his business manager and big baller brand partner. Alan foster, apparently disappeared one point five million dollars at some point in the last few months this coming after another story this week about the Lakers investigating big baller brand shoes. And their impact on Lonzo is fragile ankles. Will Lonzo ball and the big baller brand ever recover, even a fraction of the reputation and popularity. They once enjoyed. Did they ever have that? A huge big old. They weren't Lonzo ball big Baldwin. They're the biggest sports talk topic. But people were paying the whatever absurd dollars to their shoes. My one buddy he wanted four hundred dollars. They'll take whatever it was the same thing as Craigslist my Lima, you did a show with Lama couple of weeks ago. Right. I actually wasn't here. Oh, that's right Lima. Lima bought a big baller brand hoodie. Ward around Cleveland like an a hole because that's who lime is. But he only paid like thirty five bucks forty bucks for it. And it was a conversation piece. And that's what it is wasn't that great of a hoodie. And the reason why people would buy big baller brand. If Lonzo ball was actually the next Jordan, people would buy it. And then you would have arguments of whether or not the quality was therefore the only reason people bought that stuff was for a joke and the only one who's actually hurt by. It is Lonzo ball because old man force them to wear them shoes. Yeah. I'm sure those user cheat. You think lavar ball is going to Bill you really trust lavar ball with anything, including quality shoemaking. Of course. Not who looks lavar Bongos. That's the next Phil Knight. He makes a quality shoe. No. No what about Lonzo himself? I mean people really believed that he was going to be a star. And even especially with the emergence. Those people were full edge with the emergence of diangelo Russel. That makes them look terrible. That man is looks like such better NBA point. Uh-huh. And then it looks even worse, by the way, Lonzo ball isn't even a bad NBA player. He's just I never thought. He's gonna be great. He's not a very good one. Nope. No. Was there? Anybody who knows way more about basketball than me who really thought he was going to be sensational. Anybody anybody? So. Yeah. His dad got what he wanted. He was a loud mouth, and he got his son drafted the Lakers because the Lakers don't know what the hell they're doing. So we got drafted the Lakers everything else. It's it's all smoke and mirrors. None of that is real. You did you really buy ball? Big baller brand shoes sticking that. This was going to be a good basketball shoot. No. You weren't around to say. Hey, check out my shoe.
