"You know, the more you promote, the more you can earn, potentially earn. And I think that the players want to see that potential earnings that they could be getting if the league promoted them better. I think that plays a huge role in negotiations for another collective bargaining agreement. Especially, you know, with everything that's been going on with Bally Sports and so on the league losing a little bit of money. I'm just absolutely shocked that that they're not promoting this league in this game better. You know, no wonder why people rank hockey as the fourth best in North America. You know, it's just it's sad that they don't do enough. And I think that that definitely going to play a role. I mean, everything plays a role in in negotiations and this shit like that and earnings and rev shares and blah, blah, blah. I mean, I mean, obviously the players want more money and so on and they should be paid a lot more like, you know, I'm not saying like the football players or the baseball players and so on in the world, but they should be getting a lot more. And our salary cap should be going up, by the way. I don't believe that that that that's crap. So I think that the salary cap should at least go up two point five million, you know, this year and then go up and then the next two years at least get it to one hundred, you know. But like every like every analyst has said, you know, in their podcast or in their articles, as soon as the freaking salary cap goes up, all these fucking teams that are up against it every year are now going to be like, we have no money. And now you're up against the cap. So you're basically at square one again. So and I get that narrative as well. During the two thousand twenty three Stanley Cup finals, the the ratings, the national ratings took a pretty plummeting freaking plunge. Alan Walsh, a noted player agent and on the Agent Provocateur hockey podcast with Adam Wilde of the Steve Dangle podcast. He tweeted this out and it was kind of shocking to see. Um, we knew it we knew it was going to be bad, but holy hell, the Stanley Cup finals national broadcast ratings down 43 percent this year from last year. So, yeah, it was not good for the league, a league that's struggling financially and, you know, playoff revenue. You know, if your viewership's down, you're not making as much money, I guess. But yeah, it was a tough one. You know, there's no original six members in the in the in the playoffs. Well, you know, in the Stanley Cup finals, at least, which I don't know, does that drive the number down because some of the league the league's longest tenured freaking clubs can, you know, pretty much, you know, own the the those numbers? I don't know. It should be interesting. You know, I'm battling along and I'm sorry because I'm not good at this, you know, solo podcast, so I apologize in advance for me babbling along. But so the Vegas Hockey Now website report is something that happened in the job

"You can debate what I have you, whether or not that's the best route to take for a fan for a guy who just obviously seems like he needs a fresh start somewhere else. And I think both parties would benefit from it. But whichever way you kind of slice it, they have to get the wheels turning and get a trade set up pretty soon because this can't be carrying into later this month next month, what have you, because it's going to be just continuing to take the headlines and it just makes for an uncomfortable situation all around. Yeah, and again, I mean, think about for you listeners, you have a job and you want to leave and you say, hey, I'm looking for other jobs. You don't want to be looking for other jobs for like 5 months. You know, you want to just get out. You're like, I'm done with this. Now you think that's kind of debsk. I also do feel bad from the sense that the agent coming out and saying this, I would guess he consulted the brusque before. I don't think he just came out and said it. You know, like Alan Walsh is meme of the story. I just imagine flurry like checking his phone seeing that like shit. Damn it. But I do feel bad in that sense where it's like, I feel like, you know, I don't know if that was the smartest move. I get from his perspective of like, you want to get a trade done soon. And that does get a trade done soon, because now every team knows. But from a brewing standpoint, I think leaking that definitely should not help things at all. And I also think from Jake to Brussels standpoint doesn't help because you did it at a time when there's no like you can't call up Providence forwards and have them slot in. You know, you can't sit to brush until he's traded. Like, you have a plan..

"Beach and the multiple different systems that failed him. So that's why he wanted to have guys watch it. But I think he was important also for bergeron and those guys to say in the room like we should watch it as a team because I kind of mentioned it before. As much as we talk about the culture and hockey needs to change and there needs to be significant progress being made, there's the illusion of change in which you hand a bunch of fat cat front office people that are pink slips or you fire coaches that were culpable before it. That's changed. Yeah, of course. Like no shit, that's what you should do when a thing of this magnitude happens. But for there to be actual change, I think it has to be coming from within the room within players on the ice to foster a supportive atmosphere to be there for one another. And so for the bruins to do that and you know, it's not just players speaking out, which I think is very important. You've seen that from multiple different teams. But to have that come from within the room to have it be a team wide thing, not like one guy speaks out and be like, guys, we need to get our shit together. If you see something say something like that's a no brainer to have it, you know, be a team wide initiative to all watch it and to talk about it and to have it be from guys like bergeron talking about to younger players like Jeremy swayman talking about how important it was, and the impact it had on him. That's I think a positive step in the right direction. And again, it's not like the bruins have gotten to the crux of what the issue is with hockey culture, right? It's just one step forward. But it's still a positive one when you look at taking it's not an individual approach. It's a team wide approach from the players that are going to be on the ice that are going to be the ones that I think are going to be the chief architects of kind of reworking and reshaping hockey culture to avoid a situation like this or never happening again. And Taylor hall spoke about this after a game last week saying, you know, hockey is too much of an old boys culture. And you see that. And you see a time and time again and you're seeing it now with bettman coming out in the press conference with Bill Daly and how big of just a dumpster fire that was of nothing of like, oh, look, we've done stuff. And it's like, well, you're not really doing much. I mean, the fact that you thought Joel grenville could coach that night for the GM up in Winnipeg, should keep his job. It just, it blows your mind. And I think it's great that players are seeing this Alan Walsh tweeted out. Allen watch loves to obviously kind of stir the pot. But he tweeted out earlier this week, you know, Batman should be gone. And obviously he's someone who's very direct and right to the point. But I think a lot of players probably feel something similar, where it's like, there's got to be change. And, you know, you mentioned the cassity comments about, you know, kids going off to juniors. All these kids, most of them left home, whether it be for college, all of them for juniors, or some form of league, leaving home. You could actually feel safe. That's the biggest thing. And I think to see the raw emotion of Kyle beach in that interview, says it all. I mean, if you're not moved or touched from that, I don't know what to tell you..

"It's hard to completely Bank on him for season. You can say, is to go to the future, but to actually have him be the starter on a team that is looking to go to the Stanley Cup is tough, that's just how it works is dead. But there are some interesting older free-agent options in that. I mean again, halak is officially gone. That is not, he's not returning, he's not coming back. That has been announced crunch. Alan Walsh Meadow for not making a big deal out of it. You know, you just kind of, I think you tweeted it. You said it to someone so not not a huge, you know, picture of Sweeney putting a sword in the bath. La creditas crazy like that. Um, but what is interesting what is interesting is there's one named. That's right, he's not even a free agent he's it's Braden. Holtby out in Vancouver you know Vancouver wants to buy them out and that's one name that's been kicked around. Is may be a guy who come in and no absolutely not. No you don't want Braden holtby near your team. And we said this last offseason we this was people were saying this last offseason in Vancouver went and signed up to 2 years 4 million per awful. And I was looking at the stats last night every single month, Vance, even worse than you think it's worse than you think. It's like I thought he was like bottom climbing. Yeah, yeah, I think he was this horrible and I'm not going to go step-by-step because it's hard to podcast people off. This is is boring. But you can go down the line and he's bottom five in every stat, every single stat. He's bottom five in high danger. Say percentage. Granted yet he was behind a shity Canucks. Defense took. I'll give him that crappy connects defense but hellebuyck's behind a horrible or behind a bad defense in Winnipeg Thatcher. Demko wasn't terrible in Vancouver. Hope he was terrible. Hope he was so awful like the numbers if you want to go check them out. Go to Natural stat trick and look at them yourself. They're terrible. This is not a guy. You want even at a million? A million-and-a-half. I don't care that. You want a cup. A few years ago I don't care that he used to kill you whenever he play you play the Bruins, I don't care. He's not good. Stop with the whole. You know, do the Brewers are going to, you know, sweep in and get Opie on the cheek wage. No let another team. Make a stupid decision like that. Like, like they can ice skating Oliver ekman-larsson, which is also the dump and now having to dump all these hundred. Yeah no. I I was thinking about this yesterday, the Bruins being interested in that and just program to a cold sweat cuz I know the arguments going to be is that he's one. So he's better than Rask when he's been a below below replacement. Level player for eight years now like he's been dogshit. So I know that arguments coming the Bruins somehow get in the mix or there's rumors about it so whether you don't get it, he's a winner. Yeah he has a hidden 897 say percentage, his last two capitals and that's why they replaced him with uh feet Advantage. Check and Sandstone off and all those guys have the Bruins roasted in the offs, that that was a better option on it. And he'll be brought them. But Yeah, if that's a guy that's very concerning whether even if they're eating some of the cap, the Vancouver Canucks and it's a one-year deal. I don't know how you go into it cuz then you go back into the mix of is Braden..

"Yes. Okay. So here you go. This will do it. I think. Back this up a little bit. Listen to this nonsense the term I represent the great state of fill in the blank why I ask what the hell was he trying to say? He's trying to say that who has in here who you think of your own people first. They're all right. Yeah, but you think yours is greater than others because these are your people. These are the people that sent you here to do their work. They trusted you. With the responsibility of representative government. seriously You know, I I feel proud to know my Senators Senator Casey appeared in the back. Send her to me over to the left. You know, it's funny the season the side but it's funny how kind of deliveries. Oh when you're talking or you hear others talking about you when you're home in your state wage. They they will say, you know, I talked to my Senator. Well, I talked to somebody on the staff of my Senator. It's always my Senator what? Yeah, cuz they represent your state stupid like this is so weird. Is it that we say my Senator because Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson worked for Russia what he talking about Jesus Christ wage idiocy. We say that because the people you represent are proud of their Senators know they aren't it's because you have two senators you live in that state and they technically represent. What the fuck are you talking about? The absolutely feel that connection know they don't yeah, you know, it's just I mean, that's why I like My senator cuz he's mine. We have a connection. You know what I mean? Like I went to the boat at voting booths and there was just kind of like, I don't know something. I was going to go some other way and I just decided that I was going to vote one of the the Midas touch brother said that about one of your one of Trump's attorney said like, you know, you know, you could arrest them or something. They said like yes that guy. Yeah, that's true. Like if you think it's real then go arrest him after he's out of office now, he's nobody has arrested him yet and therefore so the the political Act of impeachment is not valid because he hasn't been arrested. It's just dumb as what Because that's not just at to Mia Pennsylvania. That's my sister from Pennsylvania. That's my pet to me. Was it he's not get away from the world. He's mine. I love his ass when he walks away from Scranton my senator. And you like that people like that the people back home really do yeah, they love it. Don't you like it when you say my Senator? What what does that mean this page there? This is the argument and United States senators have a reputation and it's deserved. A reputation how cool headedness being erudite the men and women that we said downright Elite you'd even call in from back home to look after our interests. We feel a sense of ownership and a sense of pride in our Senators. What the hell is the point of this? I don't I don't know who's honest to God. I think he's making the case that the people in the state. Like if you voted Republican, then more than likely you sent them there to protect all Republican presidents from any kind of impeachment hearing cuz that's the only thing I can dig up in this bullshit. But goddamn, it's dumb and this and showings is arguably worse like showing the B Team like they had Another you know, he's like I'm going to bring up him in a bit and I was like Jesus If he if he led this off right? He's the one that started this yet. There's plenty of times. I've been around in political Gatherings right here. There's no way send her to me is going to change all that. I don't mean to pick on you pet. But there's no way Senator hit pick on him. You're embarrassing. First of all this he was talking about Elite like public like private Gatherings with donors and Wealthy lawyers and people who actually have access to this to the Senators off States. We're going to go there's no way he's going to allow that you know, why cuz I pay his bills. That's why like a c it's going to allow that Because we feel pride and something bad is potentially in the wind and we expect our United States senators not reacting to popular will and not reacting to particular emotions. We expect them to do what is right notwithstanding. What is immediately and expedient that the media tells us is the topic of the day. Jesus Christ like this is just write you media the right-wing Media oan news Max and fox are saying that the topic of the day is that Trump can't be impeached wage. And are we to take it from this gentleman's words that to me and Casey even though they you know, they're Republicans aren't going to listen to what news Max and fox are telling them do and go with what's right, which is he incited an Insurrection multiple people died. 139 cops were injured one lost and I won lost three fingers, you know, they've broken ribs crushed spinal discs and all that kind stuff, but the right thing to do Is whatever oan scares the shit out of KC and to me into doing like it's the whole it's pathetic. It's it's very, you know, it's dead. It would be funny if it weren't so sad in that regard, especially after you know Raskin it everybody comes up there with a legit conversation about what they went through on the day and how is you know, I think it was as was a grandson. He mentioned to someone like or one of the kids. It was like, I don't want to go to the capital again cuz they were scared by the situation so badly. Yeah. I mean that's just awful. I know it's you know, the sad part about this Alan Walsh know is that they're going to not convict them and that's the sad thing. I'm okay with that though and I'll tell you why because and and the the Democrats are aware of this page know it's good. You know that this is how it's more than likely going to shake out and they get to get those people to go on record. I know you're not going to convict him, but you now get to be a part of history that in a hundred years people are going to look back at this and go that was obviously bullshit after they're out from under the spell and the Republican party no longer exists and has been replaced with the Patriot wig and tea parties. People are going to look back and go. No, it was clearly an Insurrection. He clearly invited that these people stood defensive on his behalf when he wouldn't I mean these it must home Singularly the dumbest Senators that have ever sat in our house or they were compromised to such an extent by Trump and his allies both foreign and domestic that they couldn't say their true thoughts if they wanted to because they would their whole careers and lives would go down the to you know, so tubes plural, I think really actually but I think it's one big tube, but thought I mean that's that's just they want them to go on record and as they should as they should yeah, I know but it's but but again, they don't care. I mean, you know, right I mean the, you know, the Josh Hawley is you know of the world don't give a crap. You know what I mean? Well, they do to the extent that it will help them, you know, and in this case there, you know, Holly's did not watch the video that the Democrats played and a lot of them Republicans didn't they left or or dead? Watch when they play the video and the reason they did that was cuz it's not about the emotion of this you're going to try and guide my emotions cuz of you know, what Trump said or make it look like he was bad when really my argument is just this way that legally you can impeach him now that he's out of office and I'm sticking to that vote and I'm always going to pretend I stuck to that vote and the problem Holly has is that a he doesn't live in Missouri. So I don't know how he gets to call himself the center of Missouri and he you know, he raised his fist to tell the crowd to hold before he left, you know, like yeah don't attack until I'm out of a year, right? And and then you know, he's he's going to that's going to haunt him for a long time. Holly is a creep and my and and the people of Missouri aren't in line with they won't give a shit when he's up for re-election next time and he's not going to run like if he tries to run for president or or they they vet him for vice president..
