Friday 24 May

"You're listening to the briefing I broke on the twenty fourth of may two thousand and nineteen on monocle twenty four. Hello and welcome to the briefing coming to you live from studio. One here at Missouri house in London. I'm joy, Tina Godman coming up on today's program, June will be the end of may. I will shortly leave the job that it is being the honor of my life to hold. The second female prime minister, but certainly not the last I do so with no ill-will, but with enormous and enduring gratitude to have had the opportunity to serve the country. I love an emotional Theresa May announce as she standing down as prime minister in June will examine her tenure and ask who's in line to fill his shoes. Also a head Sri Lanka is extending its state of emergency. What will it mean for civil liberties in the country? Plus, we review the days front pages. I will also be speaking to, hey, festival's director, Peter Florence as this has bonanza gets underway. All that right here on the briefing with me to Tina Gordon. We begin with our top story, the British Prime Minister Theresa may has announced that she will stand down as conservative leader on the sudden th of June. Let's have a listen. I believe it was right to persevere. Even when the odds against success seemed high, but it is now clear to me that it is in the best interest of the country for new prime minister to lead that effort. So I am today announcing that I will resign as leader of the conservative and Unionist Party on Friday, the seventh of June, so that a successor can be chosen, I've agreed with party chairman. And with the chairman of the nine hundred twenty two committee that the process for electing a new leader should begin in the following week. I have kept her majesty the Queen fully informed of my intentions, and I will continue to serve as her prime minister until the process has concluded. It is and will always remain a matter of deep regret to me that I have not been able to deliver Brexit. It will be for my successor to seek way forward to the Donners the result of the referendum well, joined on the line, now by the political writer and broadcaster, mafia Paris. Matthew also used to be a conservative MP. Very warm. Welcome to the show. Thanks for coming on this was not unexpected. I mean, in a way, this has been the longest resignation ever should she have gone sooner. Yes. Much sooner I, she should really have gone off to the two thousand seventeen election which she, she effectively lost that, that there have been a number of points, which probably would have been better for her to, to stand down. And unless she was able to supply the sort of logic, and they sort of honesty, that our politics needs at the moment. And she never was I remember feel a little or loud, sorry for. Her at the moment, and I'm not a great one for advocating crying in public, I suppose, she couldn't help it, but sympathy for MRs may should not be allowed to crowd out a clear view of what went wrong onto her premiership and what's been missing from a political leadership, but is it something that can be fixed just by putting somebody else in there? I don't think it can or I don't think it easily can. And I feel the, the only really interesting bit of her a little speech outside Downing Street was when she said, it will now be my successor to try to deliver Brexit. Many of the problems that, that she has encountered all the big problems that cheese encountered arise really from the difficulty of delivering promise to have a cake and eat it. And how big failure has been? Failure to tell the public that we can't have our cake and eat it. And whether bars Johnson is able to tell us that we can't have our cake and eat, it only devise a way of having a taken Dita's, if he were to become prime minister who knows. But that that's the tusk and it hasn't got any easier. And it hasn't got any more soluble just because one prime minister is to be replaced by another hot as a rainy in it. We know she started as a remain is there a chance that has strategy was just a long game to try and keep the country within the I, I don't think so you certainly can put that construction on the way things went, I think I attempts to Reese, amaze mind and work, I what her purposes and her strategy where a pretty futile. She's a kind of head done person that gets on with the immediate toss in front of her. And she, she went about the immediate task of finding a grievance on on, which we could leave your opinion. And she went about that with, with great meticulousness and Vega. And she probably found the only terms on which we, we can leave the European Union, unless we leave on no terms tall. I think our big failure was to confront herself or to confront us with that truth. I mean, he says he doesn't necessarily deserve sympathy, but it looks from the outside that she was bullied and cheated quite badly. Do you think that some of that treatment was because of her gender or are the Tory party just Nutley ruthless in getting rid of their leaders, Batori party, not naturally ruthless? I think the English particularly bad at being upset the horrible to people until they, they finally fall over, and then then we've been crocodile, tears, when they do, I, there was a certain amount of patronizing that went on that, perhaps wouldn't have with a man, but if you look at John Major's, primarily ship, and if you look at what he. Came in in for from the press the media, and, and everybody else, I think, I think political abuse in Britain is, is probably quite gender-neutral. You took Boris Johnson as one of the possibilities to replace a do you think he is a done deal? Is he the one, I don't think either done deal. I think he's going to better than even John. He's he's, he's the one to beat. There are enormous problems about Boris Johnson the way he's conducted his own life his, his failure to achieve anything ever really much in politics is sloppy approach to, to, to policy making all those things. I think the conservative party should be asking themselves, very serious questions about the, the character in caliber of the man that they look quite likely to choose. But but, but he does have some qualities. And one of them is he's a he's a big figure. He he's a big. Voice. He sounds good. He sounds commanding. He gives an impression of determination and certainty, a lot of that show, lots of bravado. But then a lot of politics is bravado and show if you had to choose someone to replace a who would it be, well, if, if it was just me, it would be Rory Stewart, who's a clean skin that the top echelons of the conservative party. I'm now so tarnished after all this, but it's going to be hard for anybody to like, or trust any of them. And somebody younger someone with a really good story, Rory story deputy governor of a province in Iraq, walked across Afghanistan been in the army done all kinds of things, and is my kind of conservative because he's a, a liberal, twenty-first-century conservative, and, and young, you, that would be my choice and he is, I think running for the leadership, but he doesn't. Send much of a chance because he's not sufficiently well-known Michael go f- strikes me as a humane and highly intelligent, man. That, that, that would be another definitely not parties. Finally, Matthew what does this mean for the longtime feature of the conservative party? I mean, it's been so riven into indeed, like the country, can it hill? It can, but I'm not confident that it is going to, you know, we we'll we'll, we'll get results from European election soon, and that, that, that, that may push the conservative party even further to the right. And there is this gaping hole in the middle, which doesn't seem to be being filled by the change UK. I think the moment, the conservative party is doomed either to carry on warring a until they sink into insignificance or what's a move very sharply to the right leaving a big space. But perhaps some of the conservative party, and some from other parties to, to fill Matthew, thank you very much indeed. That was Matthew Paris, the political broadcaster and writer. You're listening to the briefing on monocle twenty four. It's time now for the latest business news and I'm joined by and pots from Bloomberg union. Thanks for coming on, as we've been hearing, of course. The big news, the UK Prime Minister Theresa may has sets out her plan to resign how the market's taking the news junior. Yes, the end of May's premiership the markets had just over two hours to digest, the news, Theresa May's to step down as leader of the conservative party on June. The seventh Brexit of course, is at the very center of most investors concerns and the leadership election will really focus lights on where the UK goes in terms of Brexit. You might think we'd be discussing enough already. But of course, that's all back in the air, again the race for the top job, which could take six weeks. We'll be a period of great uncertainty for investors, whether we get harder Brexit or softer Brexit. Also, of course, the threat of another general election will also concern investors. They not to see a lesser friendly governments in power in the shape of Jeremy Corbyn, prime minister, sterling fluctuating in a range today before settling. Slightly higher off the maze announcement. It's up to stocks the first one hundred trading higher. But it is a very much an update on the markets in Sydney. The footsie to fifty which index of mid cap stocks, which are much more UK focused domestically expose stocks has dropped twice as much as the footsie one hundred over the course of the last month. It sounds interest rates a looming leadership, fight not to mention that impacts on Brexit is going to give further. Pause to the Bank of England's markets already betting. There will be no rate rise until at least late twenty twenty now somewhere else where it's been pretty turbulent is within the cardinals of tesla. Yes. Elon Musk and tesla. The blows from Wall Street came one after another this week. It's been a relentless barrage, it's left the stock really beaten up the biggest blow came from more stunning, which declared that in its worst case scenario, Tesla's shares could sink to ten dollars. Now, the currently one hundred and ninety five dollars a another analyst, saying the comic is facing a code red situation and. Cost out on whether tesla can sell enough of its electric cars to turn a profit now the end of trading yesterday. The stock dropped more than seven percent this week leaving it down a staggering forty percents over the course of this year. That's brought Tesla's value back below that of General Motors and afford now. What makes the collapse? Oh, so stunning is comes just five months off the many of Musk's critics on Wall Street in their plenty of critics were beginning to believe that's a he was poised to put the company on a path towards sustained profitability at stock soared at the year end level of sales production, and profits all strengthened. But concerns about the company really started to show through they came through early this year. That was decision to cut prices, which concern investors a lot and musk warned about a difficult road ahead. And then, of course, it will finally burst into the open when the company reported a massive loss for the first three months of the year and a sharp drop in sales, but it's a fascinating story has not to keep an eye on where it goes in the rest of two thousand nineteen. Absolutely. Thank you. That was you in pots from Bloomberg. Here's what else is making news today. Donald Trump is announced that why we could be part of a trade deal between Washington and Beijing, the Chinese tech giant has been dragged into the trade will between the superpowers in recent weeks. And the US is also targeted hallway by putting the firm on a trade blacklist, the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi has thanked voters forgiving him five more years in office. It follows his landslide victory in the country's mammoth general election. Mr. Modi's, nationalist, BJ peapod is projected to win around three hundred seats in India's parliament and hundreds of thousands of children and young people are walking out of lessons today in protested inaction of climate change, the global campaign started in August, when the Swedish schoolgirl, greeter twin bird held a protest outside her country's parliament. This is the briefing. Sure, Lanka's government is announced that it's extending the country's state of emergency this week. It was initially introduced in the wake of the Easter Sunday bombings, which left more than two hundred and fifty people dead. Well, let's get more on this with Alan Keenan, he's a senior analyst, and Sri Lanka project director at the International Crisis Group here in London. Allen. Thanks for joining us. What exactly has the Sri Lankan government announced? A well they've announced that they will continue the emergency with some is for a month. I believe needs to be ratified by parliament. I'm not sure if parliament has actually endorsed it as required. But it's not as prize. I'm sure it'll it'll continue for a bit. Yeah. Why have they done this? Well, because it gives the well number reasons. I mean it gives the security forces additional powers of some of arrests in of investigation. Abc's your assets sit in principle, it, it could help control hate speech, and false statements circulating which could rile up already very volatile situation. And of course, it also looks good for politicians to be seen to be, you know, taking the situation under control, and ensuring security, and so forth. Now, we know that there was a lot of tension between the various parts of the government between the prime minister and the president is this been resolved Tolan is it feeding? Into to the great uncertainty of the situation. No, it's not been resolved at all. I mean, the bitterness is probably deeper than ever between the two and hostility, I think, is principally from the president towards the prime minister. And we saw how this played out as one of almost certainly, one of the causes of the failure to act on the intelligence reports that the government had been getting from foreign intelligence agencies prior to the Easter attacks, where there was just a failure to communicate in coordinate in the government, and clearly that was one of the factors behind that was the bitter dispute between these two politicians, but no, there's no sign of getting any better at all. Now, let's any ten years since the conflict ended in Sri Lanka, not characterized by awful awful ethnic divisions, always saying return to that we're not seeing return to that, because that was a war between representatives so self proclaimed representatives of the Tamil people. The Tamil Tigers fighting. Thing for a separate state for Thomas in the north end. The east of the island where they predominated for centuries of versus a government that, you know, represented in various ways, the single majority. That issue is while it's the underlying issues of sort of how to share power between the different groups in ensure equal citizenship of all people have not been settled. It's not an active conflict. It's not an act. It's not the source of active of violence or has -delity. What is now? Unfortunately, is of fear and hatred and violence against Muslims principally led over the last five six years by a militant singer. Lease groups who say they're defending Buddhism and the Buddhist character of the state in the nation, which they say is under threat from Liz limbs, and unfortunately, that campaign has has understandably predictably gotten a big boost now that they're in these atrocious attacks committed by a small number of, of, of Muslims. In the name of a, particularly extreme version of Islam, or some would say, not really a real version of his at all. But, but there have been recent attacks on Muslims by the same set of, of single, the Buddhist militants as in the past another movie invading, terrible stories about women forced to strip veil and, and so on other wider concerns about civil liberties in the country. Yes. Has had concerns about civil liberties for decades. And but I think there's different categories of issues here. I think there's certainly Muslim women in particular, but the home was them community as a whole is under intense pressure right now to prove that they're not terrorists proved that they're loyal to prove that they're not threats. And this, you know, a goes to the extent of, of, of sort of vigilante implementation by singer Elise principally a against Muslims on the street with a think are not following the rules, which were declared under the emergency laws that women cannot cover their Cup cover their faces, but even women who are simply using hejab which covers the top of the head, not the face are having those taken off, or refused service in hospitals, or government institutions, if they wear the job. So there's that set of issues. There's also I think we'll worries about the use of the emergency powers that this security forces now have in cracking down on what they see, as you know. The suspects or you know in the in the in the treatment of suspects picked up for alleged involvement in the in the attacks Easter. And there's a long history. I mean decades well-documented of torture of detainees in Sri Lanka by government forces. Torture of terrorism suspects in the past is principally been Tamils for alleged involvement with the LTTE now. It's more likely to be Muslims. Picked up for legend involvement with ISIS or some other jihadi group just before we go. Sri Lanka was voted lonely planet's number one travel destination for this year for two thousand nineteen how's this impacted on the country's tourism industry and a disaster for the tourism industry? And that, you know, hopefully of for sake of all the people all the average of all ethnicities who depend on tourism for their livelihoods, hopefully this will not last too long, but at the moment, it's putting severe pressure on all communities, severe economic pressure, which is heighten. Winning. I think the sense of fear of anger of, of helplessness that many relaunch are feeling right now the levels of sort of insecurity, economic and physical insecurity. I think are extremely high. And that's not good for any any, you know, it's not that doesn't help to political situation or attempts to sort of bring the communities together, Allen. Thank you very much indeed. That was Allen Keenan from the International Crisis Group. You're listening to the briefing on monocle twenty four. Tell twenty here in London, this is the briefing with me, Georgina Godwin, and it's time to review the days front pages now on joined in the studio by monocle twenty fours. Daphne Connie says, Hello to you, high duty. Can we start with this wonderful cartoon? Now yesterday. Of course, we had the news that Judith Kerr had died, and she is the fantastic, author of children's books, and one of the books, she wrote was the tiger who came to t tell us about this cartoon. Yes. It's really an actually that's the title of the cartoon the tiger, who came to tea, it's the political cartoonist pizza. Brooks. And in this cartoon reconsider one scene, where Theresa May sitting down for tea with the tiger who is Niger for us at in the second scene. Theresa May's, you can see is no more frostiest. Eaten has. So I know you discussed maze official resignation earlier in the show. And what next I think they caught two reflects today's sentiment pretty well and what's going to happen, of course, in the European election, which is predicted huge, huge gains for Farage's Brexit party. Exactly. Let's go onto the telegraph now, Theresa May is staying on in order to be hit for Donald Trump's visit, but it turns out, she's getting rather move Trump's than she originally bought can, yes. Exactly. Does this big spread sharing from left to right photos of each family member superimposed on a US flag? So Donald Trump junior Melania Trump. Donald Trump if Eric and Tiffany, Trump so chumps chosen or four his children and his wife to accompany him on his state visit next month in June here in the UK, it's going to be three day. Visit and they're also attending a state banquet hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace. So I guess it's with he's bringing a many of them along, particularly since they have no formal role in the administration. Although a couple of them if on the haven't they arrived advises now I know that they were huge plans to actually line, the mall, and turn one's back on, on Trump. He came down or indeed Jones bums. But I believe that he's not going to go down the mo-. Oh, he's not. I didn't I didn't pay. That's best the opportunity there. Sleeve on talking about showing inappropriate bits and behaving badly. We are talking about Weinstein. Yes. I've caught the New York Times from page hit the headline. Is that Weinstein said to reach deal with accuses? So that's been a forty four million dollar settlement to resolve the civil suits. So remember, he's also facing criminal charges for sexual violence against women, but sexual harassment on the other hand is a civil violation. So it's not a criminal one. And, you know, this, this is quite significant, it's quite symbolic is still less than half of what was initially discussed as, as a pub victims fund, but it's still a still a pretty big deal. He's going to stand trial in New York in June on these criminal charges brought by by two women which include rape. So if he's found guilty, then, you know, he could spend the rest of his life in prison in very quickly. Just a quick look at a subway up in Japan, which is actually Nelson related to once things by. Yeah. Exactly. Links quite. Well, so Japan, you know, it's notorious for its rush hour gropers. They've been some surveys, saying that something like three full of women in Japan at groped on on the on the train, and this is called the digitalise app. It was actually originally created by Tokyo's metropolitan police for things like reporting and security, but it's now become more popular because of this added feature. So you have the ability to press a button that literally says repel molester, and then a voice voice message quite loudly comes up saying, please stop a pacing volume. It says it so that people, you know, you can allot to the fact that you'll being sexually harassed untested convention Daphne. Thank you very much indeed. That was definitely come need says you're listening to the briefing. Finally on today's program the hay festival, which takes place in the Welsh border town of hay-on-wye kicked off yesterday. It's become one of the most important events on the cultural calendar in the UK, and is celebrated worldwide as a place where participants of all ages invited to imagine the world as it is. And as it might be I spoke to the founder and director, Peter Florence and asked him how the festivals managed to grow and flourish over the thirty two years and become about so much MU than literature by accident largely it turns out the old conditions that you need for a kind of vibrant conversation. Live here in mid Wales bizarre at Severi relaxed place. It's very informal people feel as if they're on holiday here, and they don't feel crucially as if they're in some metropolitan orbit. It once you come here, you'll no longer pass, whatever whatever's going on in London, or Cardiff, Glasgow Brussels, or New York, or anything. It's a very open free place, and people respond to the kind of greenness and openness of the landscape. They love the, the Brechin, beacons national park, and they feel free to talk here, and that's been extraordinarily exciting. Actually watch a society that has talk radio that has monocle has radio full that has that has a familiarity with conversation likes to get together and the tradition of music festivals in Britain, which really is driven by that can aglow Brie, and then by everybody has reacted to Glastonbury has also failed the literature world. And when you say so much more than literature. Yes, it is. But it's it can never be more than books because books for you. Six hundred years have been the way that we store and keep everything that we know and all the stories that we tell them all the ideas that we share. So whether it's a, a science book from Newton's Principia to raucous to say toys, a whether it's poetry or history or joke, Raphy everything we know is written down, and it's been a phenomenally durable piece of technology that bound type of thing that we all love and carry around. Well, speaking of technology opposed, this is a technological age. And we're told that all we want to do is sit in front of screens. Confusing digital content fast forwarding clearly, though. I mean hey bucks that trend. Well, I'm not sure it cer- trend this replaced of forms of pleasure. I think he's just added to it. Most late teenagers now kids in their twenties, kids in their twenty God, listen to them. Grew up with Harry Potter. They grew up with the idea that there is a three and a half thousand page saga that you can work through this attention deficit thing, I think is crazy. We like story, we like long form story. And that's a different pleasure to the speedy quick fast stuff, you get on a digital handset which has it same narrative skill in. There are people who are very good at tweeting. There are people who are very good at compressing language into short bites just as there are people who are good at writing sewn. It's and people who are good at writing in nobles. It's time of huge division right now, as we know in British politics and Brexit of courses at the hearts of many of our discussions, and it'll be featured as part of your two thousand and nineteen lecture series, too. We can't get away. Got none of us can get away for being shackled to the the own going, you know, attritional horror that his Brexit, but more than a couple of very popular gigs with kissed Omar Omar Kucova, whoever there's a broader context, which is wanting to talk about our relationships internationally, absolutely with Europe because they met a how you feel about the democratic institutions of the European Union, we all the products of three thousand years of European thought and civilization just as much, if not more than we are the products of two hundred and fifty years of colonial rampage and genocidal. Tara visited upon what we now regard as the Commonwealth. Now there's a big history that in full everything that we are in Britain, and it's worth. Just pushing that context in place because it's something we haven't talked about most of the Brexit conversations have gone back to blitz spirit. Well that ain't go back further. It ain't go back to what the implications of the colonization of Africa. And Asia were they didn't go back to this deep Viking tradition that dominated the part of what we now, think of Britain for saddle they don't go back to the Norman invasions that this is all long-term neighborhood and the varieties of relationship, we've had with other states and the shape of those states has changed tremendously. And as conversations continue at hey festival, until the second of June. That's all for this edition of the briefing. Many thanks to all involved. I'm Georgina Godwin goodbye. Thank you for listening.

Biggest Busts, Week 15 Tough Calls, Fantasy Cops and Dynasty RB Risers (12/16 Fantasy Football Podcast)

"This is fantasy football today from cbs. Sports it's time to dominate your fantasy league. Now here's some combination of adam. Dave jamie heath. Ben who is the biggest bus of twenty twenty not counting players who were injured but yes county players whose quarterback got injured and their value is completely sunk. We'll talk about that. We've got the week fifteen tough calls we going back to. Kyle murray this week against the banged up. Eagle secondary about kareem hunt at the giants. We got the fantasy cops. We've got a thursday night preview We got david heath. We got everything we need. What's going on. I'm adam mazer everybody. Here's dave richard. What's up what's up adam houria. I'm good. I'm looking forward to the week. I don't know got voters saturday. I love saturday football. It's a shame that there's also college football but excited about that. It's the way things go by. It is just wait. A couple of days probably won't be calling. Triple how are you. He's got two things a comment and a suggestion. Oh please okay it's too late to change the host of the podcast comment is. I did a bad job in forgot to mention this last week so i need to squeeze it in real quick. I'm wearing my new Rota where shirt. thank you for. Ins- of the program. Kenny wrote aware let s. That's it. Because i'm also wearing a rower shirt. Excellent excellent excellent i did. I was fortunate enough to participate in the Fantasy cures toys for tots shopping trip again and this year my family got to go with kenny. Who sold scott fishbowl shirts. And we spent six thousand dollars. That people who bought scott fishbowl shirts raised while i was eliminated from scott fishbowl this week but still we went and got loads upon loads and delivered them to the local toys for tots office. So thank you kenny. For letting us participate. That's beautiful story. It's a great way to start the show. Thank you for your charity. Good stuff everybody and Yeah and thanks scott fish for running all the people out there were so charitable in the fantasy community. It's great stuff okay. Today we're also gonna talk about dynasty running backs but let's get to the big question which was who is the biggest bust of twenty twenty on twitter. The two top answers are probably from what i saw. Anyway were zeke and clyde edwards. Helaire but i said not including players who were injured who is the biggest bust in fantasy. I'm gonna go with the obvious one. That's why i was jumping all over you while you were talking to make sure that i got to sikhs i because it's the guy like we said. Some people were going to be bus. The three of us look dumb but there was one guy we all universally said was going to be a bust as adp and he was a boston. It wasn't injury related. And that was lamar jackson. This is why you don't draft the guy that scored five hundred fantasy points a quarterback and expecting to score five hundred fantasy points again. The following year Yeah don't take patrick. Mahomes and aaron rodgers in the first round next year. Yeah he's hopefully going to help people in their leagues if they were able to get into the playoffs because right now he's peaking at the right time but yes I'm trying to look up where you know where he is. I'm guessing is about you. Botanic babies tenths ten. Exactly dave. who's your big anymore. I think is. Adp was right around ten as well overall. My goodness hard to do this when you can't consider players who got hurt. Because i think the case is pretty easy for christian mccaffrey who you got. Two good games out of men headway to while. Then you've got a good game then you have to wait and we're still waiting and he was on your bench the entire time while you're waiting wasn't like saquon. Who got her serious injury done for the year but as bad as he was you can make an even better case for joe mixing being that type of bus but again somebody who got hurt so i was gonna say chris godwin has been. Wow kind of a bus. We were taking him round to range expecting him to be a and he got her to but he didn't miss nearly as much time as the other guys that i said. I think godwin's a pretty heavy duty bus share. All things considered. We thought he'd be the top receiver in tampa bay. That hasn't happened. We thought he'd be the you know the second coming of join almond. That hasn't quite happened. So i think that. Maybe i'm just being contrarian here because there are some obvious ones otherwise but godwin into i will say really wasn't affected by injury was taken with very high draft pick did not meet expectations. That's a really good call. He's twenty four per game npr. I didn't really think about that. One to me zeke and edwards. Helaire are the top answers of but more jackson. Yeah you know why. I didn't consider him because in all of our leagues he went the third round. But yes if you took him in the first round is he is. He actually a bigger. He's a top ten quarterback. See a bigger bust clyde edwards helaire. Who's like fifteenth if he helps people win their fantasy leagues. And i'm gonna say that he's not as big of a bust. We lamar jackson. Help people in advancing. Then he's not the biggest bus. Go to someone like seeker godwin or someone that the point i was making was like. They've both been low in starters at their position. I don't know why it's more likely one of them within the other well jackson's playing really well and has a great schedule. And edward ziegler has new orleans this week and just average two yards per carry. But he did. I know he had five catches. But that's been unreliable. I mean i. Who don't you feel a little more confident in in lamar jackson right now than clyde edwards dealer this. Yeah and then like zeke versus ever dealer. I just pull up and like seventy five percent said zeke. And he's interesting because he was. I i want to say it was the number two running back and fantasy for the first five games of the year. He was hot certainly. Oh should i mean. He was elite. He was averaging He was He ever had seven in his first five games with dak for seventeen hundred total yards nineteen touchdowns and seventy seven catches. The total yards weren't great yards per carry werner mazing but whatever they were high power offense catching the baltin seventy seven catch pace No complaints that he. In fact we were debating him versus chimeras number one And then got hurt his. He's been pretty bad since edwards. Helaire like there's been a little bit better terms of like a pr floor than i guess. I realized but not as many boom games. And he's on pace for three one thousand three hundred fifty six yards only six touchdowns where are the touchdowns and on pace for only forty seven catches which is disappointing so Who would you guys vote for if you had to zeqir. C. h. with the idea being that c. h. can put together one or two more games before the end of the year. My vote will go toward zeke. But but yeah. I have to go with clyde at this point right now. Zeke gave you a third of the season of elite. Like he was a he won. You weeks the first five or six seven weeks of the season there. Been a lot of uncertainty over whether you can start clydes for most of the year. Yeah but we're at that. Point with zeke to now but you clyde never gave you the five or six game. Stretch zeke did. That's true not not consecutively. Now i think zeke has one more game with double digit non. Pr points than edwardsville liras. Yeah the other thing about edwards helaire is that he. He had that pace i gave. You doesn't include the denver game where you know. He was active. People started on. We got the report he's gonna play didn't play and that was in what we thirteen that's a crusher so we twelve or thirteen thirteen. Yeah bar okay. Love will finish with this. Who's a bigger bus in your mind. Saquon barkley who you could have just cut after two games. But he had to. Pretty dudley games or christian mccaffrey who've had to use a roster spot on but he had three tremendous games. Mccaffrey barkley barkley. Yeah i would say barkley. Okay all right then. Those are your biggest bus and thank you all for participating on twitter. I guess i should probably do the audience. A little bit of justice and read some of their responses. And i finished three and ten my worst season ever oh benz actually done very well in our leagues but not in this one but mag michael thank you for your donation saint jude. That is great Does matt ryan count. He just lost me my playoff matchup. He's been a bust this year. Yeah yeah i mean he's been a bust. But where'd you draft out ryan right. I think a little too late to be bust every tight end. Not named kelsey now has been great. Wallers kittle could be in the same conversation as saquon as far as guy. That wasn't necessarily amazing when he was playing and then he got hurt. And you probably cut kittle and now there's talk that he could come back. That's like a stab. That's a shift right in your side. Got some votes mark ingram. Yeah i'm as just a zero. Lebanon bell obviously big bust Miles sanders. he absolutely pooped the bed except against the best run in the league impossible to predict his production. No question. he's a bust Okay okay good stuff james conner. Did he make the list he did not. There is hollywood brown. Yeah i got like a hundred something. Juju juju juju was my worst pick. My worst prediction absolutely furious about that one. All right news notes guys. So let's say we've got some opportunities at running back. Let's say we've got leonard fournette. Phillip lindsay because melvin gordon as a shoulder injury. Jeff wilson. Who else am i missing here. Benny snell how would you rank those four. So they would be fornet. Benny snell jeff wilson and phillip lindsay. Heath you get the first stab at it. I would like to rank guy i Whoever starter is going to miss the game okay. If they got is assuming that in this exercise all four starters. Unlikely was the point. I was trying to make. But if all four starters were miss wilson would be my favorite I think lindsay would probably be my second favorite and then probably snell. I don't remember who the force guy was. It was flatter four. Bruce arians for that we was too. I i would go wilson i. Then there's a gap then. Snell i think is going to be second. Lindsay is going to be third. Leonard will be last yeah. I think you're wilson's been running the ball. Well and dallas is so bad. But how much are you going to trust phillip lindsay. Who hasn't been running the ball very well lately. Whereas gordon has and how much you can trust. Benny snell was kind of okay in one game without conner he had. I think three catches for thirty yards and he was. He had ninety total yards or so against a beat up ravens defense in a weird game in the middle of the week right and then the week after that. There were still james conner. They were taking on washington home. We thought okay. This is a great spot for benny snell. And i think he got you like one. Or two fantasy yeah. He barely played terrible. But he actually. I thought he looked a little bit better than connor. last week. i think The events of lines a huge problem snell seems to do a better job adapting to that offensive line. Early didn't their last. How much faith. And you're going to have in him or lindsey not a lot which is why. There's a big gap after. Jeff wilson. Okay yeah like one guy. You didn't mention. Because i don't he's not really a. He's a injury replacement but not for running backs. Lynn boden He would he would be second for me analyst joe he might be first full pr. Well i I prioritize it. That way league that you and i are facing each other this week. Oh i know. Just because i have running backs and i don't have wide receivers so yeah if park the reason he's like three guys probably need to be out for him to be first for me but if parker granting a year all three out in boden's probably i invoke bbr. We should talk about what happened in that league. When we get to the fantasy cops not that i did anything wrong but i did play a little bit of defense against you. That's good defense. I was surprised. Actually yeah. I figured you would have been surprised. But i didn't want you. I think jeff wilson will be good if he gets that opportunity in san francisco. I didn't want to run the risk of you. Having him in our matchup. And i knew how much i guess. We're doing this now. And i knew how much fab you had left. And i had a lot of my fab left right over. Forty six and my fab left. I'd like fifty nine laughter. So technically you i had twenty two left boden and will soon were both out there. I kind of expected that you were going to put twenty three on and twenty three on wilson. I didn't have the room to carry both. I think i only had one. Ross unless i cut rothlisberger which i didn't do. So i went with wilson first and then boden i put in a bid of like i wanted to make you pay for them so i think my bid on boden was nineteen. I twenty two on both of them. I i yeah well you got him. That's a pr league it is. Yeah 'cause i you know. Based on what the patriots did to just in herbert. I'm a little concerned about what they do. To a tongue of loa they will. The thing is i think the patriots will settle for those short passes to bowdoin so that good at what i did may end up working against me. Because it's a full p. r. league and boden could have seven eight receptions again but i will have a lot of yards. That's the other thing too is like devante. Parker is the most optimistic about possibly playing this week and parker playing with grant and gigi. Both being out might be the best possible situation for bolton if the patriots like clearly they're going to take devante parker away and then bowed maybe a little less attention. It's going to be interesting. I could get the gilmore treatment and then that's it because they know that tunga vilo doesn't like to take a lot of shots downfield. Although the last game and a half he started to be a little more aggressive. He's come out of his shell and he actually said that too. And that's the thing. It's not just like a random turnaround for two. He actually said during the second half of the game two weeks ago that he kind of started to feel comfortable again. You know and So that was good to see. And he's there you can tell he's played well He's for what it's worth We got i put in a bid for us for jeff wilson of four dollars. Got him and we got the browns. Dst so i'm excited about that and we are at a fab. So let's hope. I don't pay attention to this league well. I made the moves at nine thirty ten o'clock last night. You were definitely sleepiq. So i don't think you do about them at least what you went to bed. A few more news notes here. It sounded like i said when you wet the bed. But i didn't. I said when you went to bed. Ladies and gentlemen mail. You never know christian. Mccaffrey unlikely to play. That stinks. henry ruggs on the reserve covertly. So he's not going to play tomorrow night. Mike williams keenan allen both limited in practice. They're playing thursday. They were listed as limited in practice. They both have back issues John brown is off. I are that does not mean he's going to play. We'll we'll keep an eye on that. They have a saturday game buffalo. At denver on saturday to to clarify john brown was designated to return from care. Thank you he's still technically on. I and can stay in your spot in your lineup. And we won't know what his status is in practice because he's still technically in nazi. Designation noah fant was designated to miss practice. I don't think they actually practice right They have the estimating so they estimated that he would not have practiced. He has an brandin cooks expected to play. That's that's great news. Matthew stafford unlikely to play an alex smith is trending in the right direction. We've got weekdays tough calls when we come right back on fantasy football today. We'll talk about terry maclaurin. What do you do when you get the fantasy postseason. And there's this quarterback who's just not very reliable. Not very predictable. And he's got the jets. And he's jared goff so i would say he is a tough call at least in my opinion. He's a tough call. Dave heath agree. Jared goff is a tough call. He's not a top twelve quarterback for me but i still would consider him a very good streamer one of my favorite of the week. And i think i'm gonna take him in. Dfs to just because of that matchup. And because i think a lot of other people will be nervous to trust in their tournament. Play seven less quarterbacks to take on the jets twenty two more fantasy points. That's the good news. The bad news is that when this dude plays at home usually doesn't put up good numbers. I hate that. That's the thing but it's a thing but the reality is that he just hasn't been consistently good. I think it's six of eight games with twenty or fewer fantasy points. Yeah it's They are we've seen it with cam. Akers the past two weeks fifty rush attempts over his past two games. They have a history win the they are playing a team. That's not very good offensively. Just not throwing the ball very much right. He's at a couple of games this season where they were playing from behind or in a shootout and he threw fifty one passes against tampa bay and sixty one against the dolphins and forty seven against arizona but most every game. Besides that's thirty two or fewer. Last week they played the patriots and just dominated them and twenty five passes so he's a high end number two. I do think he is a tough call but I'm probably not starting my brothers. Start- mitchell trubisky. So they've got four wins this year like kind of blowout fashion. They beat the eagles washington Chicago and the patriots by fourteen or more points. He threw twenty seven thirty. Thirty three and twenty five passes in those games a twenty five to thirty three passes. He scored twenty nine twenty eight twenty and sixteen points so he had three good games He had well. He had two great games. he had one twenty point game. Which you know is not going to cut it and sixteen. Point game The problem is you know. He's had some rushing touchdowns this year and that's really helped him like he had a last week. The game against washington. I think it was scored twenty eight moines son. Thirty pass dempsey had a rushing touchdown. So if you take that out then you look at the four blowout wins and it's twenty nine points twenty two points instead of twenty eight twenty and sixteen is it fair to take away rushing touchdown. i don't know From a guy. Jared goff. I feel like really wanted to focus on his passing stats but the jets are just so bad however. There's only been one quarterback that's done well against the jets with fewer than thirty passes. That was wilson last week. So are would you start to streamers over golf. Would you start trubisky and hurts over golf. I don't have it that way. As of now i would say i may change my mind but i i guess i could say. I don't even know if i could say that. The upside with trubisky and hurts is better than goff's upside. Because goff i think he realistically has three touchdown upside even if he doesn't throw more than thirty three passes because you can get away with some big plays against the jets. Second awful awful and he said you have trubisky and hurts ahead of them trubisky. I don't currently have hurts but these right in the same range. Okay got him ahead of rothlisberger right now to. Oh i think you could just say. The steelers are tough call. You love the matchup. You don't love what they're doing lately. We got dante johnson. Later in this segment cuyler murray against the eagles so owns easier. Why this one. I think where my suggestion. I forgot to give when i said. I had a calmness suggestion earlier in the show because i saw this list. I saw marie on it. And i just think like and i know often are rankings are not updated and so it makes your job more difficult life polish for that. But if you look at a quarterback and he's in our top five across the board. I don't think he's a tough call. I don't think it should be in. your top. Five is not hard cuyler. Tough top five. He's not your club. No okay. he's in jamie. Nice top five portraits. You both haven't fist ninth well. Why why the confidence. They had the ball for almost thirty eight minutes. They ran seventy nine plays or seventy eight plays and scored nineteen points last week. He should have you know he came. Very close to having a second touchdown But i don't know he had a second lowest they dot last week. He's just either incapable or choosing not to but not throwing the ball. Downfield only thing that worried me about cuyler. Murray was the fact that he had stopped running so much that because he has not been successful this year based on his arm he has been a a an elite fantasy quarterback because of his rushing production and he ran thirteen times last week. Now may have been ten and three of those were neal's or something but he had thirteen russia temps. He was averaging ten per game before he hurt his shoulder against the seahawks in week eleven. He had three straight weeks with five rush attempts. He was mostly terrible for fantasy last week. He was running again. It came after a week. In which for the first time since he hurt his shoulder. He had a full week of full practices. No limited participation. my assumption is that kylie murray is okay. Now i am starting cuyler murray. Because when he's been okay he's been one of the best quarterbacks in fancy even without the any throws downfield. Because i mean you know he was getting the christian kirk touchdowns and some deep balls to the andrei every now and then and that's just not happening. You know dave you've ninth. I think he's i think he should have had a better game than he actually had. Last week. i'm also encouraged by the rushing. I'm still discouraged by the lack of downfield passing i'm I'm okay starting this week. And i'm gonna miss starting my adam and a league. I lost that playoffs. This has nothing to do with calorie satisfied this week but i think philadelphia's secondary being as banged up as it is. Yeah will make it easier for him for. Ill certainly make it easier. At the very least i receivers to make plays after the catch and that's pretty much. What they're passing game is based on right. Now it's lucky throws sedan. Arnold and having hopkins and fitzgerald make plays after the catch. Okay her 'cause he's not. I don't know why he's just not getting targets very often sad. Okay so Yeah i think key thing. There dave mentioned is the eagles secondary could be without three starters. It will certainly be without two starters. Maybe darius lay on top of that so That's a big deal. All right kareem hunt lump these running backs together. Kareem hunt client edwards helaire. And ezekiel elliott. Hunt is at the giants. They give the second most receiving yards two running backs. A clyde edwards helaire is at new orleans with their excellent excellent. Ron defense and ezekiel elliott against san francisco. Heath are they tough calls. Hunt c. h. and elliott yeah I have one league obviously got lots of cream. Hunts i've got one league where i'm sitting him for Jonathan taylor and cam akers but for the most part. He's my favorite guy on this list. This sets up to be a pretty good game script for the giants to just run the ball. Seventy five times and nick chubb and kareem hunt can both be awesome for the browns to brown's So i'm mostly starting kareem. Hunt is a top twenty. Running back zeke and clyde edwards helaire it solely dependent on. Do you have better options site. There's not currently anyone available on the waiver. Wire who. I would start over them but if for him most was out i would start. Jeff wilson over both of them. That's probably the only one. I'm probably not going to benny snell. Or phillip lindsay over clyde edwards. Helaire and zeke elliott. So it's going to depend on who you had on your bench. You can make a good argument um four starting most of the rookie running backs now over them. Glide is a rookie I think you can make a good argument for starting jd. Mckissic and full p pr. Over them. I think you could make an argument. Starting wayne goldman over them about dobbins. I can't Because i don't feel confident that dobbins is going to get more than twelve or thirteen touches. I could see baltimore running on jacksonville to that could help. Jk dobbins who like it. It's been a little flukey. I always put his numbers. The last couple of weeks and certainly touchdown dependent. But he's done it and if he was able to do that in the previous games i'd like to think he's got a chance to score a touchdown on jacksonville. So i don't mind starting him over. Hunt or zeke. I'm kind of encouraged by edwards helaire the targets and catches the ad last week. And it's miami. And i'm kind of hoping that the saints play them the same way defensively and that will Maybe lead to more check downs. That's how you can negate the pass rush for the saints by throwing these little short passes to edwards helaire and he was getting involved early in the game and he looked. Okay on those on those receptions too. So he's probably he's my favorite of the three. There's no probably about it. Zeke is the one i'm most worried about. Is your favorite of the three over. Kareem hunt because the saints. This is the team. I think they give up the fewest points. The running backs here. And i am injured. I'm curious and i don't have it. Here kareem hunt with nick chubb. Do we think he's been better per game than quite were dealer. Yes we can do the math. I think we're probably very similar. I would guess that before week fourteen. The answer was no and after week. Fourteen the answer because before chubb got hurts hunt with the top seven running back. He'd really just been bad with chubb in the few weeks before last week. Since came back right. I remember doing the math A few weeks ago and his points per game in games with nick chubb was right around. Rb fifteen is tied at that point was tied with like miles sanders. I don't around twenty. No i think sixteen if you take out the game yeah okay. Yeah yeah so. I think pretty close and he had three kind of bad games in a row but such a good game last week with twenty eight. Pr fantasy points. I'm it's probably pretty. Close that way he averaged over twelve. Nine peop- your points in the games with trump so far this season i think the question i have with hunt is look at the carries the last four games. Forget about the six against baltimore. Baker mayfield threw the ball ton Thirteen ten fourteen. So is it going to be in that ten to fourteen range and in those games he really didn't catch the ball at four catches in those three games if he gets fifteen touches in. Twelve of twelve to thirteen of them carries against the giants. Is he going to have a good game. I like that score a touchdown. I think that's you start saying those numbers. It's like that sounds a lot. Like what quite edwards dealers probably going to get. Yeah i'd rather go up against giants and the saints. That's the way i feel about it. Okay and then. How about term maclaurin diontae johnson tyler lockett. You have faith in these guys. Maclaurin against seattle seattle has not given up a touchdown to a wide receiver in their last five games. Only josh reynolds has more than sixty two yards. Face them lousy teams and quarterbacks but they also did well against woods. Cup kirk and hopkins Deontay johnson's at cincinnati. They're only fourteenth fourteenth against wide receivers antilock at washington. So dave do you have faith in maclaurin deontay or lock it this week. I don't have a lot of faith in any of them Do i have number two wide receiver faith in any of them. I may have it in maclaurin. I would like mcmoran better if dwayne haskins plays. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen. It's going to be alex. Smith that worries me a little bit so maclaurin would drop from where have now miracles. He's already outside of my top fifteen. He probably be on the precipice of the top twenty four wide receiver lock. It has been very frustrating. There's so much downside. And we've we've all been witnessed to it for the past several weeks. I feel like a big games coming. I have a hard time believing. It's going to be against this defense. Washington's been really good and this this feels like a tough spot for seattle's offense to be in with that pass rush being as good as it is for washington and then you've got down to johnson who had all those terrible trump's early in the game last week got benched and then they let him back in the game and so i wonder if they're gonna say all right dante clean slate coming into this match up but if you drop another pass you know what's going to happen so don't drop anymore passes. They're probably going to yeah. It's quite a risk. And that's that's why. I think fantasy managers probably are not going to use the johnson. But it's it's a good matchup against cincinnati. I think rothlisberger still wants to connect with him. It almost feels like it. Almost feels like they're trying to like limit claypool the way that his targets have gone down and mike tomlin saying well. We don't want to hit a rookie wall. So we're just going to lower his snaps now. I don't even know what that means. I think it means he's already at the rookie wall. And so that. I think i think they're kind of forced to try and make it work with the day johnson from the jump i i will say a couple of things one. I'm distorting tire locker to the number two wide receiver. I'm not sitting tyler lockett I understand why some people might. But i'm not. I'm not sitting that type of upside I'm like maclaurin is a borderline number. Two i don't know that i really feel confident. That dwayne haskins is actually better for them than elkin. alex smith. I'm probably just if he's if i don't have to guys better than him. I don't agree with the idea that the steelers just have to force the ball to diontae johnson. They could throw it to one of the other seven players on their team. That is more efficient target basis than diontae johnson. They could just treat. Juju smith schuster like number one wide receiver But that's what they're doing and so it doesn't really matter npr. I'm probably starting to johnson a non-paper i'm probably not i. If you view them as a flex that's the expectation form. I think you'll be okay. And i think you have to do the same thing with lock it. I get it with lock it. You know what the upside is he. Then while you're showing him is a number two receiver but it to me. Johnson and lock it or kinda the same. They both have terrible floors but at least with johnson. You know that the targets will be there assuming he doesn't make mistakes but you said they both have terrible floors diontae. Johnson doesn't have one hundred fifty yard touchdown upside well. Nobody does have very right. He's got a more consistent upside if you like. He's got a ton of games this year with twelve to twenty four points. Yeah he's got more upside than lockett. Well does it like we can't say upsides. Exit is not upside. But i think there's a more realistic chance of diontae johnson falling between fifteen to twenty p points and there is of tyler. Lockett coming up with twenty five. Pbr points yeah. There's no question. John has lower floor. Because this flora's getting benched so which may or may not be that much worse than what. We're getting from tyler. It's worse tyler. Lockett has one game with fewer than ten points in his last five. Johnson has yeah one in his last six and it was last week right. I'm just saying like tyler. Lockett floor is not similar to getting benched. No few it's okay. That's it for the tough calls more on those players throughout the week. We've got a lot more to get to here. So let's go to our dynasty running back segment which of course unfortunately going to have to cut a little bit short. But i asked you guys for risers and fallers. And why don't we do heath's risers and dave's fallers so he. The're running back. Dynasty risers are ronald jones and james robinson from the sunshine. State all right. So how much are you buying into them. Long-term ronald jones and james robinson. I think you can look at ronald jones. Now and it coming into the year he was right around thirty. I believe in my dynasty rhinebeck ranking still very young. He'll just be twenty four years old entering next season. Feels like he's been around forever. I think you can look at him as a A high end number two dynasty running back There's there are not more than maybe sixteen or seventeen running backs that i feel really confident. Have more than a a one or two year window I think like you can look guys. Like who were in my father's james conner and chris carson as to why i would say that but jones i would expect next year is going to be ranked inside the top fifteen and twenty four years old so that that makes him a very valuable asset. I think he has to finish this year strong in order for that to take place. He's got overcome this pinky thing that he's dealing with right now he's gotta have a couple of games and then he's gotta be strong for tampa bay in the playoffs too. And if all that happens than i'm with you but if he doesn't do that then i'm worried that the bucks will try and do everything they can to replace him again. Yeah it's a tough call. Plus you know they offense could look. I assume brady's gonna be back. But yeah i mean. Let's put it this way i wouldn't. Would you give up a first round. Pick to have ronald jones on your dynasty team right now in the playoffs right now you can make the trade right now. I'm in the final four though. I'm playing right. So you can have ronald jones now and forever per se. But you'd have to give up your first round pick but it's no. It's no better than number nine right. Yeah i don't know i i'm saying no to that. I think i'm saying no to that. To the problem is that if the scenario that i laid out comes to pass where he does play well down the stretch. That'll be a bargain. If if he gives you too good games and you win a championship it was worth your twelfth overall. Pick well he not play this week though. We don't always play this week and we don't know how he'll be when he does come back. I just i. it's his career has been such an adventure that i i don't feel good saying that. He's a bona fide number two superstar wide receiver. But you said he was a high end number two running back not right away said receive receiver in any way but like you call them a high end number two running back. That's what i should have said. And that's i think that's just a little too high at this point. I have trust issues here. I guess is what it comes down to. How about james robinson. Is anybody worried about him. Being a one year wonder it's possible. Yeah but again. I think there's a most of the running backs outside of the top fifteen and you could make the argument for some of the running backs in the top fifteen that you could have worries that. They've only got one year left. Where i think is unlikely as someone goes into this situation in jacksonville with all of the problems they have and looks at this running back who is dirt cheap and as an undrafted free agent just had the best season ever for an undrafted free agent and says well. I think we need to do is get a running back. You've got to run. That's the last thing you need to do. So i view robinson in a similar range to wear ronald joneses. I would prefer robinson to ronald jones. Obviously the beginning of the year he was nowhere near the top fifty dynasty running backs. So he's the biggest riser. He's the biggest riser. Not only would. I easily give up a first round. Pick for him right now using the same scenario that we had for ronald jones. But i don't think the person who had james robinson would give him to me for just one first round pick. I agree with you completely. He's he's going to be good for her hopefully like five years. But let's just let's play it safe and say the next year i think in talking about his value in relation to first round picks. If you were a team that was in the playoffs but had some somebody else's first round picks i wouldn't give up a top three pick for james robinson. No i probably wouldn't give up the top six pick for james robinson he'd be right in that seven to nine range. I think i can't make a call on that. Because i'm not sure how great this upcoming class is going to be. I know that there's a couple of running backs. And a really cool tight end and a bunch of really good receives coming out and probably not going to give up six or seven either but a late one won't get it done and a late one plus twenty twenty two first round pick probably would get it done but it probably be something you'd wanna do. I think it's interesting to look at robinson in comparison to all because he's still behind all the elite rookie running backs. We are excited about coming into this year. Other there's such a jumble. I mean is even is he behind edwards helaire. He's behind taylor. Yes for me. He's behind dobbins. I haven't dobbins. i think. I'd have him behind acres as well swift. I dunno gibson. He's behind gibson. I love gibson see. I think i'd have a gibson interesting. I think much of this is determined by what your perception of the player was prior to their. Some of these guys have had like three good weeks. Yup james robinson had full season right. He also has a lot of catches. Keep in mind though. He's probably going to have justin fields as quarterback next year. That's probably going to hurt. His receiving totals but it might just make their offense a lot better. And maybe you know. Mobile quarterback helps you run her. She's going to help her passing game. Stats of the receiving for the running back The most running back catches on ohio state. This year would be three but it's only in five games. Jk dobbins had twenty three last year. All right we'll do the fallers later if we have time. We got to get to the game. Los angeles chargers at the las vegas raiders. David's thursday night football at a game. Let's do to stats at the game. Comparing the running backs in these games. But they're both starts ekeler and Jacobs running backs against las vegas. A running back to score thirteen or more non. Pr fantasy points in five of the last. Six games against the raiders. They are kaelin. Balaj c. h. Ito smith tied johnson and jonathan taylor. So ekeler is awesome and you will start him. No questions jacobs. I'm assuming you guys feel the same way jamie absolutely obliterated me for this that last night on twitch i took his fantasy points in games that he did not score a touchdown and if you just look at what he does when he doesn't score he's not a top forty running back compared to everyone else when of course i am counting the touchdowns for everyone else but my long winded point was saying jacobs hasn't really had that great of a year. He doesn't catch that many passes. His yards usually aren't great But he does. But when he doesn't he's been touchdown dependent. That's kind of my point on jacobs. But do you have any issues with josh jacobs. This week against a terrible run defense. No because of the terrible run defense and for all the concern about how healthy is in is even gonna play. I thought he looked good last week. I just wish he had more work. I don't like that. He's not getting that workhorse. Role you wanna talk about a fantasy bus. Maybe jacobs should be considered among the fantasy bus this year because he hasn't been what we thought he would be as a top ten type of picky hasn't deliver that only four games with over one hundred yards this season but it's it's the chargers it's a run defense. That on paper isn't very good And it's a short week and jacobs has been the number eleven running back in fantasy. Is that really true. He is ten nine thirteenth. Npr pro the bus converse now. But i feel the same way. But i think that's just because i really loved him and i thought he was going to take a huge step up and he's just been solid he hasn't he hasn't had a breakout year. Unfortunately but the just for this week is he a top twelve guy not for me. He's outside of that. I think i have him just outside of the top twelve Twelve so Would you start david. Montgomery over josh. Jacobs yes we would you start Miles sanders over him also. Yes no no for heath yes. How about cam. Akers or josh jacobs. He okay all right then. Let's go okay. So how much faith do you have in just in herbert. You know he has. He's not throwing the ball downfield lately since ekeler's comeback he hasn't been very good Faith i think part of the reason why he's not throwing the ball downfield because his offense of lines stinks and last week they were Atlanta came at him so we had to get rid of the ball quickly. I think the really there probably more than three throws downfield that he had but the three that i remember two of them are really good so he can still do that he just needs time. How much do you have an him though like. i think he's a top twelve quarterback. Cause the raiders. Pass rush isn't really that good. They've got big guys up front not necessarily explosive guys. So i think you'll have a little bit more time. I think he'll be able to challenge. Downfield a little bit more To dave's point justin. Her has been pressured on twenty seven point seven percent of his dropbacks which is tied with carson wentz for the fourth highest mark in the nfl. I i agree that low wind. Top twelve quarterback. I would not start trubisky or hurts over him. So that's he's probably starting he's going to goff to. He's going ahead of rothlisberger. It is a little concerning that last three games under twenty fantasy points in each and austin. Ekeler's back yeah and any space the falcons last week. My goodness Plus obviously keenan. Allen doesn't play it's a different story but we'll we'll keep an eye on those injuries. Get you updated on that tomorrow. Would you start. Derek carr in this game over justin. Herbert no no. But i i have them very very close and i noticed that i was like the high guy on card. I'm not. I'm not really sure why. He's not a borderline starter. He's got twenty seven fantasy points in three of his past four games and he's been a top twelve quarterback this season and he's facing the chargers question i have is how much throwing will he need to do. What kind of game do you anticipate here. because if they just pound the rock with josh and he throws twenty five times it's going to be bad but basically what we've seen is other than a dart at atlanta when he's had to throw he's been pretty damn good pretty pretty darn good. Pretty darn tooting. Good gotta put the ready on this episode. But no seriously me. Let's give him some credit. He's he's had six games with more than thirty two pass. Attempts derek carr and he scored twenty two or more points in five of those six games and Twenty seven or more than half of those games. So that's really good. So yeah i don't know. He ended up with him at eleven. Dave and jimmy havoc eighteenth or nineteenth and. Final thoughts syrian. Why do you hate your car dave. I don't i like a lot of other quarterbacks. i'm worried about that upside. I think defenses can play the raiders differently with henry ruggs not on the field. And that's going to be the case this week as rutgers is on the covid lists but it but it. But it's crazy because i do i do look for of course i like waller and i'm not in love with josh jacobs. So maybe this is what i need to revisit a little bit but having the confidence to start him over trubisky hurts goff. It doesn't sound like much right. It really doesn't sound like much to put them ahead of those guys against the chargers. But the chargers have held quarterbacks to low numbers for whatever reason maybe because they've taken on sloppy quarterback matt ryan last week is a good example of that. I think it's because they're run. Defense is so bad. Well sure i mean. That's part of two. They they a lot of touch running back in the last three weeks though but look played buffalo new england but they They've faced one top twelve quarterback josh allen. Do against them that. That's the one k seventeen points. Seventeen points he was not good Basically since week five you know who else they plan stretch they played derek carr he and he only through twenty three times but he scored seventeen fantasy points. That was part of that. Three run three straight wins for. The roy was terrible. He well he was. He'll be only through twenty three to twenty five times in each game so there and their defense has been so bad that i feel charges should put up some more points But the chargers offense has been very good lately so who You know that's it's might come down to pass attempts as as it often does All right the wide receiver. Keenan allen is a must start. He's been below sixty yards in four of his last five games and concerns. Okay starter. Mike williams if he plays can't trust him and nelson agholor is what this week very close to a number two receiver just outside higher. Very good flex. Yep very good folks and you might be able to make the case for mike williams in the same spot as that. But 'cause at defense is so terrible but i i think there's trust issues there and i've got trust issues with car. I'm definitely gonna have trust issues with mike williams. Are you going to start with nelson. Galore over ezek clyde edwards helaire. No yeah pr. Yeah how. 'bout over co beasley. I haven't that way as of now. what'd you say. He is john brown playing. We won't know it's a thursday game gamble. Yeah unless i hear some reports that john brown is expected to play. I'm probably just going to stick it out and wait for beasley. Alrighty and then darren waller is a must start. what about hunter henry. And don't you know before we get two hundred hundred. How about hunter renfrow with henry. Ruggs out do you see sleeper. Appeal for hunter renfrow. You can have esim like i think. It's important to recognize like henry. Ruggs impact on the receivers and derek carr can only be so big when he's getting three targets per game. Yeah it's not like there's a lot to redistribute here okay. So then hunter henry start or sit. I'm starting him mostly. It's simply because he's a tight end. Who gets targets and is an offense that should throw the ball well in a favorable matchup. There's really not a whole lot really not that bad. Kelsey is killed them other than that. You know gronk had a big game. Henry didn't fant didn't they. Both had seven targets. Hayden hearst at four forty eight on eight targets that like. They're not this actually. Surprisingly the raiders are not that bad against other think they are. Yeah there are bad defense. Henry's gotten at least six targets and five of the past. Six games got beat up a little bit and miss some time last week but he came back in. I think if you've been writing henry all along you. I don't know if you're gonna be able to make the call. Irv smith versus hunter henry for example. What if rudolph doesn't practice on thursday. And then he's out there on. Friday and that spoils of smith's upside going to trust cole combat. How about eric. Ebron or henry run hire you. How about rob gronkowski. You're derrick henry. Or hundred hundred and henry higher than crock by a spot. Okay all right then. That's going to do it for this game. i think shouldn't i think it's gonna be a riveting game. Because the only player that i personally while to i guess waller the only players that i feel like are slam. Dunks are ekeler and waller kina now and you have to start. But he's just been a little shaky lately and he's injured. But i just think there's so much up in the air. I could see this game going so many different directions. And i'm really looking for. I think it's going to be a real fun way to start out week. Fifteen all right. That was fun. Dave you want to get the ultra music for thursday night football right into the intro music for the fantasy cops all right here. We go from first. One is from tim in myrtle beach. He says cheers or cheerio. Boris winston and david would be prime ministers. Kind of aussie accent there. Sorry prime ministers there we go. I play in a dynasty league. Where the last place team gets a very unique punishment. Every sunday during the next season from kickoff to the first from kickoff of the first game until halftime of the night game the loser has to wear whatever humiliating costume. The league chooses for him. If the person refuses the league votes and removes the fifth best player from their roster and they go into the waiver pool. If it happens a second time the fourth best players chosen and so on in five years. We've never had a refusal. Other than one exception. We gave for a funeral. Our commissioner was the big loser last year this past week. He was supposed to dress as a french made but he refused because he was meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time we voted and we want to remove the andre swift from his team. But he's crying. That swift is better than his fifth. Best player. He has keenan allen josh allen clyde edwards helaire and stefan digs. That we decided. We're ahead of the andre swift were raw. Were we wrong in our evaluation and even if we were should it matter. He refused the costume. So i think he should deal with the consequences and in return for settling this debate. What would you like us to make him wear this week. That's awesome okay. So he didn't dress up as a french-made they took out his fifth best player. They deem that to be swift. And they put swift behind keenan allen josh allen c. h. And digs this is a dynasty league. Did they make the right decision. No who last. I'm not sure it matters. But deanery swift might be first second by digs. who's fifth. Is it keenan. Allen by default josh allen by default i probably go dynasty league digs swift. Clyde yeah those three for sure. Alan keenan josh in keen. So you think it's probably the best here that does he. what's at. What does the dynasty trade charts say. Who's got the lowest value on that. That's what i use. I don't When you when you update it next. That's know. I think the bigger issue is if this girlfriend's parents that he's meeting if this is an important meeting that might impact the rest of his life as in he'd really thinks he might marry this girl then me i'm thinking an exception should be made however if he ends up breaking up with the girl then he needs to make amends for not wearing the costume and he should have to wear to costumes for breaking up with the girl in exchange. That would be that would be the rule that would make his fifth marriage and she dumps him. Then he gets the andrea swift beck or key now but i think he should get an exception to get an exception for the week or at least for the meeting of the parents like in the morning when he's like you know doing a grocery shop thing though he's got to wear the french made. It's we fourteen or thirteen. Maybe this email came in. This is not a surprise that you're going to have to wear something humiliating all day on sunday. You've had to wear something every sunday for the past three months. Yeah right with the parents on a sunday. There you go. So he's got to pretend to be sick call out understand. He says every sunday during the next seas. Okay yeah all right. So it's have you finished last last single sunday so right every sunday you know if your girlfriend loves you she wouldn't. She wouldn't make you meet her parents sunday during fantasy week. Fifteen on i'm i'm just gonna say this and this is gonna make me a bad fantasy manager but i if i finished last in this league i might just quit the league. This is a great league. Might just quit the league. That's that sad integrity by the way. The cost of michel wears a garbage bag with the but cut out in the back. Oh gosh also calls for the nipples. All right. this is from robert. R league ran into an issue this week. It may have to do with our platform. Settings six teams make the playoffs. Two teams had a buy this week by is not a cbs leak. Sixteen to make the playoffs teams. Had a by the seating is now showing the one versus the three because the three defeated the six and the two versus the five which defeated the for the two seed has the weakest of the remaining teams and the three seed is unhappy to three seat is arguing that all bracket should default to one versus four or five and two versus three or six. I don't get that. Please help us decide if we should be altering the seeding. The fate of the league hangs in the balance. Is there a standard way. We should be looking at this. Nobody realized this until the week started win. The nfl has its playoffs. The bottom seed always takes on the highest possible seed in a given week so this year the number seven seed will take on the two seed if the seven seed wins. He's there that team is guaranteed to take on the one. See the following week. I recommend fantasy leagues. Do the exact same thing. Yeah so that's what i do. I received right the ones in this case. The one seat should be playing the five. And that's my preferred way of doing all. I'm in a league for the first time. This year. That the top seed each round gets to choose who they play and i. It's gotta fun. Yeah oh that is cool. That was the baseball propose doing something like that. And they'll be or you could like they did. It was fun so they didn't. I don't remember exactly what happened. Yeah kind of all right. That's the fantasy cops. Thanks a lot for your questions at fantasy football cbsdfwcom. We've got five minutes for emails. Guys here we go. This one is from joey. This is an interesting one. Joe is a chiefs homer and he says if kansas city wins this week at new orleans than the week sixteen game versus the falcons is completely meaningless because due to tiebreakers versus pittsburgh losses versus conference opponents etc but regardless of those two games even if kansas city wins them both and pittsburgh keeps winning they must beat the chargers in week. Seventeen to get the one seed so. Joey thinks that they might rest their starters in week. Sixteen and bring them back in week. Seventeen do you think that's realistic. It's possible i don't know i had really the case that it comes down to. We've seen andy reid russ's guys pretty much every year that he's had the chance to but not week sixteen. I can't see that happening. That's such a weird circumstance where that would have to be the case. I'm not quite sure of the math on that one. Well because they have their game up on the steelers and Since week sixteen. Let's say they both teams win this week. There's still a game up on the steelers but they have the tiebreaker on the steelers so week sixteen is not a conference game and therefore wouldn't change any of the tiebreaker scenarios against pittsburgh. That's what that's what our email are saying. If they win the game in week sixteen they lock up. The steelers win Well actually you would think so right. Maybe i don't know all right. You know what their game up on the steelers if they lose to the chargers then they'll lose tiebreaker in week. Seventeen so unless the steelers news and the steelers could very easily lose to the colts in week. Sixteen and that would. But i think we'll worry about this after the game against the saints. But it's possible. I just don't see them resting starters that is so we can't have a chance to close them out. If the steelers the steelers are gonna be playing at the same time. They're basically going to say all right. We don't care what week sixteen right that would be. God forbid they rest their guys in week sixteen and the steelers lose and now they've got to play in week seventeen and bosa can cusses. Patrick mahomes on the first play the game of week. Seventeen don't even. Why would you say that we're moving. We're moving move on. this is from matt. Call if your home star. Strong bad bumps in the poop smith yes. It's a throwback to my high school days good stuff. Who should i bench. Home star runner. Strong bad i think it's called home star runner The have never heard of that. My life was. It's really funny. Strong bad was a very very funny thing. all right. who should i bench bench. Running back robinson ekeler chubb really robinson. I think it's robinson robinson bencher wide receiver ridley adams jefferson jefferson. Yeah now start. Robinson jefferson half. Pr probably go back to robinson. Yeah all right from carl wide receiver in a flex spot spot. Start to michael thomas tyler. Lockett terry maclaurin. I'm sitting record. No no. I'm sorry. I take one of them my bed. Thomas thomas okay now pick a flex carson it maclaurin. Mike davis mike. Demagoguing pick davis. It came down to davison carson for me from matthias can't express how much i love the show. I won my league when you guys recommended player. Who exploded for forty points in the championship round. I don't who could that be shrager. Who scored forty points. Last last year in week sixteen dot mike boon not my damn see asking again all right kirk christian. Sorry kirk cousins or taste hill. I like he'll he'll choose three metcalf. Jefferson ridley diontae johnson. Daniel jones might have been the guy that scored forty in week. Fourteen sixteen lesser interesting really. Cool i'd sit diontae johnson. I i didn't hear the question. Googling johnson her herber tannahill danielle Ryan fitzpatrick also scored thirty nine point. Seven legend looming sixteen maybe Memories herber channel. All right i. We're gonna have to go with we're gonna have to end it there. Thank you From guys give a real quick quick answer on this from andy when looking at matchups this time of year how much does the analysis weighing season-long results versus the last two or three or four weeks. I'm strictly the last two or three or four weeks and that's that's where we end up disagreeing hot and i like to look at like. Actually we just talked about it with the raiders. Pass defense it's like you look at the last three or four weeks but you also have to factor in who have. They played if they haven't played any good opponents in the last three or four weeks. Seattle facing the giants and the jets. The last two weeks something like that. Then you know. It doesn't count as much. And i would just reiterate i'm only looking at the outliers Twenty four of the thirty teams. I don't really consider as a matchup factor. Interesting actually knew that from ryan josh jacobs miles sanders. David montgomery and mike davis pick to jacob sanders. Montgomery davis davidson montgomery hilarious. I mean it's right but it's just hilarious at this time of year. Going and finally for matt enor- cal picks three picks three npr. james robinson. david montgomery kenyan. Drake and jarvis landry. Ps diehard is not a christmas movie. it takes place at christmas time. Not christmas movie anyway. Pick three robinson. Montgomery kenyan drake jarvis landry the running backs. Yeah okay and you write about diehard and so is barack obama even. He said diets christmas movie. So what are the guy who wrote diehard say. He said he didn't think it was a christmas movie until we saw the set so that to me tells me that the set designer christa truly not the writer but the right of as a christmas so tough tough argument to go watch some strong bad ladies and gentlemen and thank you for listening to venice football. Today we'll be back tomorrow with with. Afc hawkins an unprecedented regular nfl. Season is nearing. Its end of the pick. Fantasy Summit Live Mock Draft

"The fantasy focus football podcast presented by GEICO whether you rent her own GEICO. Makes it easy to bundle home and auto insurance go to GEICO DOT com today. Show more. Focus Football podcast is a special mock draft. The dish I am field yates hanging out with Matthew. Berry in a cast of some of our best and brightest ESPN fantasy for a mock draft. We're going to introduce them. Picks Daniel. India no I, said best and brightest. And Daniel. Bushiest as well best rightist bushiest Daniel with his beard, looking as great as ever Hello Matthew and not only are you part of this mock draft? But somehow you weasel your way in the first overall pick. And where did this moving fast and furious? My friend? You are now on the clock. Yeah, and you know what I'm annoyed about this. 'cause democracy mock draft. It was random. Random order and so I. Get the first pick, but you know what a mock draft! It doesn't matter when the draft actually started happening in August, I always get picked eight nine pick eleven. I never get a good pick it's it's only here where it doesn't matter anyway I'm taking Chris McCaffrey and my analysis of why I'm picking him as he's good Hashtag announced like I. I mean I think my favorite stat from last year was that if Chris McCaffrey it stopped playing after week twelve, he's still would have been the number one running back and fantasy I, have no concerns about the coaching change, but the quarterback change is a monster I think he's the clear cut no-brainer number one pick. I have nothing to add to that. In the interest of time, I'm going to move along to Matt Bullet. Who is now on the clock at pick to admit you've major selection? Cook. I no saquon sitting there same with Zeke, but let me throw some quick numbers. That's real quick and. Last Ten Games twenty more touches, thirteen, rushing touchdowns fifty three receptions. You also fourth is running back position yards per catch. This is the best one field. Led the NFL Sh with twenty nine gold gold touches. Is the volume, the place, the offense of Structure Minnesota. I love what he can do in that offense, he has downhill juice. Catch the ball in screens in screen songs. Without incomes. Yet look I have Barclay to I. Have Cook it three, and it's hard to argue the difference between the two guys. Is Razor thin here? You know the only knock on Dalvin of course is the injuries and we've seen more of that, but obviously Barkley got hurt last year as well and so listen to run first offense as long as Gary Kubiak. Is there You know they're going to be able to run the ball effectively? He's insanely talented player, so yeah Alvin. Cook is a no-brainer here. going up next is keep. Let's not cool key from the PODCAST got picked three. Yeah difficult call here because I think the upside for and Cook is pretty incredible, but injuries are concerned for me, and even though Saquon Barkley also injury last season, but he did as a rookie is enough for me ninety one catches. Not Sure if you'll get ninety one again this year, but I think that offense will be pretty good, so GonNa, lean on him I think two thousand yards from scrimmage is. Is a pretty sure. As he can last season, I'll take him at number three. Yeah Keith argue this one last year we had four players were all in contention for the topic, but it was Saquon Barkley who of course ended up as consensus one dot one. We wish you could have had Christian McCaffrey and that's lot of Barclays still unique talent. He really came on strong down the stretch last year. No argument for me at one point zero three would saquon, Barkley, think, and you stay interesting though at the top of the draft. Maybe in Nebraska you have pick for. This is a tough one. Because I was between Zeke and Michael Thomas, I went Zeke. I think there's a clear top four at running back in terms of volume and it's. It's really hard to get a running back. That's GONNA. Get You twenty touches on a good offense. So that was Kinda tiebreaker with for me between Zeke Michael Thomas, but I definitely thought about it. Yet I agree honestly you people wondering who daily Nebraska's, he is the static killer fantasy. Show over there on ESPN plus website out this week. We sure to check that out as well, but look I. Mean here's a guy that. You know top three finishing touches, yards and fantasy points last year. He's going to be a workhorse I think that offense is going to be one of the better ones in the NFL and so. The. Position of wide receiver, certainly much deeper than running back getting a stud like Zeke here is I think that's the correct call and up now F S W, Hall of Famer Tristen h Cochran's. So I'm kind of surprised. Michael Thomas got to fifth overall I. Think a case can be made that he's the number two overall pick and fantasy for the season at least in a PR league. The staff that stood out for me was seventeen times in the past three years he was a top five wide receiver for the week, and no other receiver came within even six of that. During that timespan he's dominant and frankly consistent as well. I feel like it's a no brainer surprised. You lasted five. Turns an interesting. Here I know this is going to be a year. We'll be very patient with wide receiver, because there's such incredible depth, but there's a one man tear. It's Michael Thomas who needs just twelve catches this year to set the NFL record promotes catches through five seasons. I think he's going to be able to get that job. Done next up. The incomparable the wonderful star on your bell. You have pick six to find your tells who your bone. I'm Alan Jara and. Tristan made my choice easier because I struggle digging a wide receiver so early but Michael, Thomas is such a talent at album commerical, obviously a be a threat in terms of pass, catching ability and rushing ability, had a couple issues with ankle and knee last your missed a couple of games in the middle of the season, but still in all given how much he touches the ball and giving his role in the offense remarkably durable. In the overall scheme of things and just didn't have to give it much thought right there. You know what I. You I like the fact that you pick. Pick him because he was injured a little bit last year I saw him tweet something that he felt he was only at seventy five percents of the fact that you're drafting with your first pick tells us you're not concerned at all about any injuries. Because I know, you're always risk averse so good. The. Kettle Bell drill thing that he posted on social media. I mean he's still moving pretty darn well so I'm good with that. We move on from Savan yet to the man who is the star of the I racing NASCAR, circuit and Was Not all the projections for ESPN fantasy. It's Mr Mike Clip. What's going on, Fellas, I'm GonNa, go and and Stefan you, of course I'm GonNa go with defined. Adams here second wide receiver off the board I thought about reaching a little bit for a running back, but I not love with the group that's on the board right now with the Alvin Kamara father, but I'll go. Look it. When he played last season, he was number two scoring fantasy wide receiver behind only Michael. Thomas I the only concern. Here we have is that they added all those weapons in free agency in the draft, right? We knew that was coming away. No, they didn't of course. Lew. Adams it's going to be the atom show again. This season at a career-high Tari Chair. Last season should see something similar this season still in his prime years I. I'm happy with Adams. Here in round one. Yeah, all he does. Mike is scored. Ten touchdowns per year feels like I know last year he did it, but up. Until that point he had three straight seasons with ten plus last year, bounced back very strong from that toe injury. The pick is in. It was made by our own secret squirrel. Yes I decided to go looking back. Really want her to go running back, but there's anyone that I wanted to really jump up this high, and there's so many good. Wide Receivers left with Andre Hopkins and here's why his target volume just a year after year and I understand he is now in Arizona's got Murray has just been astronomically huge for wide receivers and I think that he's. He's going to continue that even with Carla under center I think we're GONNA see him continue to grow. That offense is going to be even better and know from that standpoint I just don't see can go wrong with the Andre Hopkins here at eight I I may be getting the best wide receiver in this entire draft. No fence to Michael Thomas at eight so I'm stoking it. Yeah. I mean Hopkins I. Think has a Monster Year here you know the concerns are. Does he connect with Kyle Murray? But Kyle Amaury? WHO Spent so much time out of the pocket last year and the Andre. Hopkins is one of the most prolific fantasy producers on plays that come out of the pocket, and so Hopkins is one of the Best Ball. In an offense, it's going to be throwing time innocent be Andre. Hopkins was obviously motivated. We moved from the Andrea Hopkins and Secret Squirrel to Tom Carpenter. Who is? A fantasy editor FROSTED ESPN DOT com. You guys don't really know his name, but he does a lot of work, and he's the reason you get to read so many great articles from all of us and make us look smarter than we are Tom. WHO's up? An picking et ninth and. I went ahead and took Travis Kelsey. A lot of people like to wait a little more on the top tight, but I've been a a longtime proponent of picking up. The elite ones Gronk Kelsey. At this stage of the draft you know the the church fire top running backs are gone. there's a lot of depth a wide receiver. Really wanted to reach for another running back with the risk so I went with the surefire Bevis. Kelsey about safe as as a as it comes off after you off the top players in the draft. I liked that pick by Tom maybe a little bit rich for my blood, mending with the tight ends, probably closer to somewhere in the middle of Brown to depending on league size, but Tom has left me with the decision to make because I'm on the clock with pick ten and I take Derrick Henry from these days a minute ago Tom. Opera up did not there anymore. Shirt things running back. I actually think. Think Derrick Henry is quite close to it i. know that pass catching is not in line with some of the back that we've already seen, but he is to me. The best touchdown maker left in BIS are probably just in general in the NFL He is my first overall Pick Darren Evans. Their third rounder is only competition. He has in the Backfield I use competition in borderline air quotes Derrick Henry. All! Right Field Yates. Complaints I agree. They built their entire offense around him, and weirdly despite the fact that he got such heavy usage. Here's a guy that's actually fairly fresh in terms of antica running back usage. Because he came the league, he was behind Demarco Murray and then, of course, there was the whole. Dion Lewis disaster where they were using Louis over Henry for the first part of that season so. Nice pick their field. We move on now to the show researcher, the six very own thirsty kyle soppy. Joe Mixing here. You guys have time doubt. Receivers I'm GonNa Pass on Julio Pass Ontario Right now. I'm going. Mix it I get one of four running back as fourteen hundred yards in at least eight touchdowns at each of the past two seasons, the other three guys went in the top four picks up his draft, so I'm not questioning the volume or the efficiency I think i. get the last kind of tier one running back then willing to go rb one in the first round here. Unlikely Kyle why not. Running back into the premium, I still think there couple other running backs that might actually have a case for being tier one, but you'll mix them back to back. One Thousand Yard seasons are to argue with that production and last, but certainly not least another hall of Famer. Eric caravels. Who Will Round out round? One and of course made the first pick in round to care about you. Go back to back up to one special. Yeah and I was Kinda. Hoping that I could take a couple of running backs here because that's the death when I get to my third and fourth round pick I. Don't see a lot of running back that I liked. That are going to be available, but how can I take Leo Jones and Tyreek Hill here at the turn I love picking last in a fantasy football draft, and this is exactly the reason why everyone else is picking up their running backs. Don't belong there and it tight. End of surly doesn't belong there and I'm taking too wide receivers that could have been taken five six and. I was front, fine taking echo, and Aaron Jones here. But how can I put you know? Push away these two wide receivers. They're us. Yeah, I'm Eric. He certainly have stacked yourself nicely. You have these two back back. Wide Receivers who offer plenty of volume big playability. Round one is over Matthew and we're right back onto thirsty. Kyle, I'm not mistaking who gets his second. I'm going another running back here. I mean I just took Joe Mixing. I'm willing to double down I really like around three and four receivers, so we'll see how that plays out, but I'm GonNa to acclimate here ninety. S Field and not really look ninety two catches last year no Melvin Gordon this year. No real reason to think he's a two hundred, two hundred twenty five touches, maybe more love the efficiency if he gets kind of volume, he's a top ten player. In my opinion, no questions asked. I thought about that one myself Karl Matthew What do you think about Austin Equa there a guy that we would have never thought a year ago. It will be a top fifteen finishes. Well because he produced not only with mill without Melvin Gordon, but then when Gordon came back, he was still top five fantasy running back from the time that Melvin Gordon came on, and so whether it's tyrod Taylor just in Herbert under center. They're going to be looking for offense. There's a reason why they let. Melvin Gordon go and they signed Austin. I believe I'm not worried about the running back by committee. Talk I believe he the focal point of this offense, and so given that we're in a PR format. Is. A No brainer here. There was one other running back that I liked field. We'll see if you go with it well. I took Kenyan drake. Matthew a little bit nervous. I basically made the decision between he and Aaron, Jones, but Matthews. You've already mentioned on twitter. We might have the free Aaron Jones again right after the packers use a second round, pick on, Aj Dylan back during Ngoma Williams as well I'm not saying all three of them will see equal shares, but my reason behind Kenyan drake. Is that the depth in? In Arizona, not nearly as good, he's a better pass Petra at least and more prolific pass catcher Aaron Jones in the Arizona Office so I have two running backs in the first fifteen fifteen picks, and that brings us right back to our friend Tom Carpenter. Who Went Travis Kelsey in round one, if me, the second pick when I when I go ahead and take a tight end in the first round. I really WANNA. Make sure I get my running back setup as best as possible in the second round WanNa. Be lagging behind. That's one of the problems with taking a tight end in the first round. Is You're short on running back or wide receiver spot when you get to the middle rounds, the upside of getting to the middle rounds with a tight out on your roster. I'M NOT GONNA chasing one. But right now I'm GONNA. Take Aaron Jones. You know I'm not sure there's. A, whole lot of question marks here. He's got a little competition from the rookie. But. He's GonNa get touches. It's a good offense and. I'm pretty happy with having cameras rb one. Yeah listen. You Guys Know I. Love Jones, but my concern is again Hashtag. Freer Jones does AJ, Jilin and Jamaal Williams taken up work about him and make more of a higher end, rb to than a lower and one, but I love getting Ear Inn. Basically you know towards towards the middle of round two. I think it's nice value for you Tom. so Aaron Jones is now to team carpenter. We move on to secrets. We might do moral. Somebody's somebody's calling John Hopkins in round one since secret squirrel. WHO's picked to for you. To I've decided to go with a running back. That had twelve hundred six rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Running backs name obviously is Lamar Jackson. How here's what I'm saying? I'm not saying that I would take Lamar. Jackson in the second round, but part of. Mock draft is I wanna see what might team could look like if I did go this early with Lamar, so I want to do these mock drafts and kind of see how my team going to shape up as I go to the draft to see if I wanted to do this route when it came real time what? It's GonNa. Look like I wanted to take Nick Chubb there. I really Lot, but you know I don't think there's anything wrong with me trying to see what Lamar is like in my mock draft. Dan You are one sly squirrel. They're taking Lamar Jackson reference him as a running back I. He's a quarterback, but interesting that. Now eighteen picks in seventeen picks in the old bucks. Wide receivers remain wouldn't expected them to go. After the Mark Jackson, we hand the baton off the Mike Clay. All I'M GONNA. Go actually I'm surprised this guy here because I'm actually a little bit low on him. At the running back position in that is Nick Chubb a look. I know his production fell off once Kareem Hunt came back in the second half, but he was a little top fifteen fantasy running back, and now we have new offense coordinator I think a little bit less dysfunction in that Browns, offense and men guy has been. been effective as a rusher number, one in yards per carry second in yards after contact. Since he entered, the NFL ended up rb last season, a gladly taken in the what are we in the middle stages air to yeah, I I would have preferred niche to some of the other picks that went earlier I'm surprised. He fell this far I, agree with you. I think this is a really nice picking and great value here whatever? Touches he loses to cream. Hunt. I think is made up for the fact that I think that will be a lot better more efficient, more scoring opportunities in a better offensive line this year as well for Nick Job. So that's a real nice pick for you. We move on now to. Define belts worth noting today, it's Alex Smith Birthday. It's still basking in the glow, the success of her attic east sixty piece on Alex Smith. I encourage you to check that out. If you have not seen it yet is awesome. Arts defined you. Who are you taking in round two? Thank you my friend for that Nice setup I'm Steven Jacobs. Who I loved last year. I rarely go running back running back because I think the position so vulnerable, but I really liked the strength of the running backs that are still available. And I feel like the receivers are just so deep Josh Jacobs. Miss three-game still had. Over eleven hundred yards rushing, he had the shoulder issue, but the the reason he missed games. The end was morbid that the team decided they wanted him to. This is a kid who is willing to play through. Injury says toughest. They come I think things only get better for him. Past his first year in the League. Didn't catch as many balls maybe as he could and I think that there's still opportunity for growth there, but I just love him on the. What a Matthew! Matthews Rider die pick last year I believe. Was Josh Jacobs? He worked out pretty well. for him it also for the raiders, the not being concerned means that I am not concerned, so we had over now to. Tristen Kakharov, you are back on the clock. And now one did particularly hurts the. We have a history of taking each other's picks. I know when we're dropping back to back Jacobs. One does her I was looking at him. That's going to force me into making the difficult decision at wide receiver from Tampa. You all know that I am not a big fan of Tom Brady necessarily for fantasy, but that's a lot about just. The quarterback needs I do like his receivers though Brady's arrival in Tampa's very very good thing for the offense as a whole, and if I'm going to pick between Godwin and Mike Adam Mike Evans I'm going to take odd one because I want the slot receiver history with Brady and Ataman. All right so listen I. I'm I'm in on the Brady. Bucks offense this year. I think God has a huge year I think Evans has a huge year. I think Brady actually has a huge year, so I'm I'm all in on Brady and the bucks. The Taupe Bay buccaneers so I certainly liked the thick. That's a really nice value I. Think I had him much higher than couple. The wide receivers that went ahead of him, so so Godwin goes. We now move over from Tristan cock-up to the Satterfield Damien Dubrovsky. Really thought it was going to be able to get either trouble. Josh Jacobs here and then once that didn't happen. I was also going to go, Godwin, so I went down and actually with Mile Sanders. Who I think some people might think is a little bit of a reach here, but if you look at what he did, when Jordan Howard was out, was getting nearly twenty touches a game, really good pass catcher. He was third among running backs in yards per reception, so the limited competition there I know that Peterson has used multiple running backs in the past, but I think he's a guy that even on sixteen seventeen touches as explosive enough to to make it worth. Interesting upside play here by the status pillar. I hope I hope Mile Sanders lab this job largely to himself. He's a talented guy. Really played well late last season when Philadelphia was down to their bare bones of skill, guys know. Jordan Howard obviously a lot of time late last year. As well. It doesn't feel like the team is really addressed. The running back spot much off-season season. We go from Damian over to keep. Yeah, this is a tough one I was hoping I was hoping the Jacobs Somehow. Aw and people take more receivers. As it got to this point though I still love allowed the receivers that are out there and I know that I have a pick just a handful away so. one running back remains that I I feel has a lot to prove this year, and that's David Johnson just twenty eight years ago. You'll be twenty nine by the end of the season, but I think that he has at least one more really good season. I think there's a team that has invested quite a bit in in him. So I think this is a real Get back year for him and I think he's going to have a big season, so I'm pretty happy to get him here at twenty two. Yeah I'm excited about David Johnson in Houston. Keith picked quite a bit I think he's going to be a value in draft. Ride this year. Look, it's loosey-goosey math, but Carla's hide and Duke Johnson last year, if you combine their stats or the fifth best running back in fantasy, so just to show the running back, position in Houston can be fantasy productive. They need this position to work. the way that the giants had saquon Barkley to work when they drafted him. Second overall when you trade the Andre Hopkins David Johnson needs to work I think he's just GonNa get massive volume. Good offense I liked the. We not move over to Matt Bowen. A going back Matthew said Mike Evans is still on the board here I'm not going to pass them up. Getting second round look I think the offense. is going to adapt a little bit with Tom Brady. The Nazi of being as vertical as it was j Winston last year. With the play actual defend breakers. That's what Mike Evans of cash in Fort, has the red zone ability. You take the guy can create mashups especially. This draft campus up. At some point you know we, we have lowered the value of these two bucks wide receivers, because of the fact that it's probably not going to be vertically Clyde and Gronk has been added as well, but at some point Matt. We didn't have to stop thinking Mike. Evans is a stunt. He almost closes out round to matthew. You are here final. Pick around to is you had the first pick a long time ago to Christian McCaffrey? Yeah you know what and so I I have back to back picks here and I'm impressed by the I'm impressed by the sort of the value here in terms of. In terms of of talent, and you know what's interesting is is that There's still a lot of good wide receivers out there and. Again. You know we're GONNA. Take a patron secret squirrel. Right here. You know seeing how your team turns out, so my I. Obviously I went McCaffrey with the I picked coming back around Chris Carson. Who? From everything I'm hearing out of Seattle, expected to be fully healthy. They don't. It doesn't seem like they're really that confident. In rishaad any being healthy to start the season, the only really other running back the added was DJ Dallas wasting projects more as a special teamers Amores, a special teams guy, maybe a third down back so Chris. Carson once again. It's going to get the majority of work on a very run heavy eighteen love Chris Carson underrated advantage fantasy, and so I've gone back back running back running back and you think well. Maybe I should take a wide receiver here as As out there like Alan Robinson as well, but you know what I. Just WanNa, see what happens if I go running back running back running back, so I am taking. Clyde Edwards Hilar- why think could have a monster season in Kansas City as the number one running back for Andy Reid. I know there's talk about Damian. Williams is still a starter and that there may be a running back by committee, but Andy Reid throughout. The majority of his career has always been a one running back. Guy, I think. Clyde Edwards layer disrespect Damien Williams I. think Clyde Edward Solaire is something special so? Listen second place is just the first loser, right? You gotTA swing for the fences Gimme some C. H I'm going three running backs. We'll see what happens with my running wide receivers death when it comes back around in it as matthew wants elegantly told us no risk, no risk. It Clyde and layer opens up the third round. We've passed it for Matthew back over to map Dolan. Well Okay Edward so there I love the fit and especially the past bombs and getting. Him Off the board I'M GONNA. Go Wide Receiver again feel kitty out. With Matthew, Stafford healthy a different player Rauner stand, plus you look at Detroit I. Don't believe in that defense at all. Nor they added Jeffrey or Khuda. They don't rush the passer while they play. An entrepreneur covers I. Think you'll see a lot of games this year. Were Matthew. Stafford is playing wall played seven seven late in football games because of that they divided goes up for Kennedy. Scoring opportunities. And also the vertical opportunities I like to picture. I okay with that Matt I just want to remind you. There's a rule in this podcast. If you're going to speak ill of the lions, you gotTa tell Daniel earmuffs and I so Daniel. Hopefully, you weren't paying attention to that. Mary sound and reasonable explanation for Matt Bowen. Moving on from Matt Bowen now it's Keith lipscomb. Yeah I mean you know once again. I'm pretty happy with WHO fell here. There's a lot of good receivers I could have gone. You know the tight end route and grab a kindle. I just really. Get Her wide receiver. I think I have a long wait. I'd be disappointed to take this too far, so I took a feeling I just think he's GonNa. Get a huge target share. With digs! And you know if you look at his last couple healthy seasons. An average of one hundred hundred catches, a season about twelve hundred yards, or so touchdowns could be a little bit of concern since he's never had double digits, but I think he can get yet. Six last year in an injury plagued season so and nine year before that so I feel pretty good about the has a real safe. Pick here at at twenty seven. The question isn't talent. The question is only health, but we know he's going to be in volume monster with Steph on digs now in Baltimore. We expect Phelan. Who Win he has gotten. Eight or more targets, game is as good a wide receiver as there is in fantasy football, so in the third round I like the I. Like the value there Keith and move on from Keith. The status pillar dating Brassey on the on the clock for pick three, so I started with two running back, so I needed to go receiver here like I didn't think about. George Kit but Alan Robinson, just really talked the pass up. Up here I mean wide receiver eight last season despite Mitchell. trubisky throwing the ball nowhere near most of the time, so you have to think that either trubisky plays a lot better, or they go to Nick Foles, and I mean this guy. He's their entire passing game right now. He let players in red zone target TRAE last season third overall target share so just seems like a really really high floor I even the third round. Really good player, and just to give people an update on where we're add players like. George killer highest ranked not yet selected players were at pick twenty nine. Those guys are twenty one and twenty to perhaps go off the board now we hand things over triple h Cochran. And Kennel indeed is going with my pig. I'm actually very surprised to see him last. Nearly to the thirtieth pick overall in the strap, the twenty nine I'll take him I was thinking about him in the second round in fact. I'm a little bit iffy about going with the no running backs through three rounds. This is not usually what I do in a mock draft, but I'm curious like Daniel had said to see how my team plays out here if I can feel running back on the cheap later. Rum. Listen you can't argue. The dishes scarcity there with George Kennel. He's going to be the offense and one of the better offenses in the NFL defined. You did slightly curse you underneath. She was one pick away. Guessing kittle would have been her picked had dropped her, but it does not so now defined your bell at Swat Hall of famers defined about you're on the clock. Yeah I I love kill I might have taken him. There but I'm surprising myself. Actually drafting Odell Beckham Junior. The next big wanted to go deeper water good choices on the board. I think he is prime for bounceback year, and he's never been a player that targeted, and he has had a history of injuries which I. Think is always going to be a risk for him, but I like. I. Just think is going in a much better. This year. He also had off season surgery. He was never one hundred percent even the preseason last year, and I think he is primed to kind of get back to being the guy that he was not He's obviously not the air before, but the year before that. Not The year before the year before okay, I got a few years ago, Beckham Junior was sweet Safai and makes him her third selection and the upside for for Odell still I mean it it. It mirrors basically any other wide receiver and the NFL Mike Clay. The board is yours. alrighty I'm I'm going to take a guy again. I'm surprised. He fell here. I understand that concerns with Leonard, Fournette but to get him at this point as my number two running back in the third round I'll I'll gladly do that. Look fifteen games. He was active. Last season played eighty eight percents of the snaps. No lower than seventh on the season in carries targets, receptions, touches yards, fantasy points. The only thing went. Wrong was touchdowns yet. Yet atrocious like one of the unluckiest touchdown seasons we have ever seen in an expected total just over nine. You'll need three touchdowns. Last season will regress to the mean. He still twenty five. He's still declare workhorse in the Jacksonville offense I know there's a possibility that he could get traded, but if it gets traded, somebody's pretty desperate at running back. At this point, he's going to be there. Feature back so I'm comfortable taking for here. Yeah I mean look. It's all just. It's all dependent right I mean so. The concern with four net is is he traded or released the Jaguars. Certainly they didn't pick up his fifth year option. There have been some off the field incidents as well. He got a ton of work in the passing game last year. Does that continue under Jay Gruden who now decide his old running back Chris Thompson. Injuries have been a concern of ornette state healthy relatively last year, but you know throughout his career, so those are all the concerns. Having said that if he goes back to being the workhorse, you just got a bargain Mike late, we moved from Mike Clay now to secret squirrel. So I'M GONNA spot having taken Lamar Jackson earlier where I obviously need to look at running back. I don't want to force something, but I think levy on bell is a good pick here I really like being able to get him I think he's going to take a big step from what he did last year. Obviously, he struggled quite a bit only three rushing touchdowns last year, only one receiving touchdown I think another year being able to be with his quarterback, who also missed a number of games due D'Amato. Thank very much for that Sam Darnold. I think that affected leaving on Bell, a little bit and so I'm just needing to find somebody to be able to play meaningful. Rb One snaps for me and leaving bell here I think it was either him or Todd Gurley and based on the injury situation. That's why I went with Levy on just because I'm concerned about girlies. Health long-term we, we reach the. The imperfect portion of the running back so I understand. There's GonNa, be some mitigating factor. Sprawl them. I hope for maybe on Bell Snake Designing. A Frank Gore does not mean a bunch fewer carries because we know that. Despite his age, frank core continues to feast almost every single week, Daniel we go from you to Tom Carpenter. Who of course? I'd make his third. I kinda facebook having you know. Daniel went with a Lamar Jackson. Who having my bigger they go? Dangle quarterback early I took a tight end early. In that means you have to kind of. Think things through and maybe reach a little bit. To flush out the rest of your roster. I'm. Going with. With Todd, Gurley. A spot because he's really the I mean the talent still there. Obviously, the health is a real issue. But. He's GonNa Offense. If they turn them loose obviously is upside is terrific especially at this point draft. And, there's still just tons of great wide receivers out there. So I'm heading into round four with receivers, so you can expect that to be something I'll be targeting next couple of rounds. You are definitely right. There's a lot of depth so matthew started. Take this way but I'm gonNA head on and make my picks. More after going running back, running back, Derrick Henry and Kenyan drake to begin island Dj Morna back end of the third round, a guy who had nearly ninety catches last year, and that was with as we know, for almost the entirety of the season backup quarterback play. I think this team is can be predicated upon runs after the catch. It feels like forever. Since we heard from Kyle Soppe so, Kyle, you're up. Running back roster so definitely. Look at pass catcher here. I've got three receivers. I'm interested in for two spots over at X. Two picks I'm GonNa Amari Cooper highest receiver on the board highest receiver by board much more efficient in the slot last season that he was outside, and he moves in the sought a little bit more with CD Lamb I trust I. Trust out to be one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Is. Wide. Receiver one this year. Yeah, I mean hard to argue with a Amari. Cooper you know the? The only concern on Amari Cooper. It's just the inconsistency. He'll have some big games and then seems to disappear, but I agree with you adding CD lamb look I i-i've Dak Prescott as my qb three this year? That's one of the reasons. Why is because? I think that offense is ready to take a big step forward after being one of the better offenses in the NFL so. To get him at basically the. Three as your wide receiver, one think no complaints. They are mark. Cooper is like a borderline top twelve guide. And let's see we go from thirsty now to Eric care about for two episodes, eight hall of Famer Eric Cable I i. don't like either of these picks, but I will say. I didn't see anything here. I really liked I would not go back and change. Right did with my first two picks I probably could've taken one of those receivers and would would have been fine with two receivers. Your I ended up taking. Juju Smith Schuster Melvin Gordon. They both come with risk however I. do think that Juju now. That been office burgers back is going to have a fine season I'm not expecting one hundred. Hundred catches or anything like that, but a thousand yards, seventy five catches eight touchdowns. That's all I need here and Melvin Gordon. You know I know. They filled Lindsey there. They could share the touches, but Gordon does. Catch passes. A does Miss Games, but I think at this point I don't see another running back that I like better, and that's kind of how you make decisions when you get to this point of the draft. Fascinating! Go ahead field. What are you GonNa say I was Gordon's a fascinating one because I have a hard time figuring out what the making the Broncos backfield just as good as Philip Lindsay is maybe there's some sort of message in giving Melvin Gordon. Eighteen years sixteen million dollar deals so eric. I understand that predicament you're in but as I said earlier when I when Daniel. Levy on belt, we're at the imperfect portion of the running back tear. And Eric you go goes from you to kyle sloppy right back on the board. Got Receivers left on the board that I think could be legit Katan players in the position this year I'm GonNa Tyler Lockett here over the last three years. He's got ten times as many touchdown receptions drops I'll take that consistency match. You touch stand. Up and down. He's already roster. I think you know the month blip last year for like. It's not a big deal. Consistent producer love the Florida. Yeah, know, listen. The best quarterbacks in the NFL throwing to meet the number one wide receiver on that offense. The only concern is yeah. There'd be no question marks if it wasn't for that month or so where he just completely fell off the map, the emergence of K. Metcalf does that take anything away? They added, Philip nor set, you know so you hope that the volume is still there for Tyler Lockett, but a talented player, good offense, great quarterback, and we're here at the top of round four and we moved from thirsty. Kyle back to the handsomeness man. Healed Minister Gates. Thank you very much matthew and the reason why I went running back running back earliest because I love the wide receiver depth throughout the draft process, which includes the fourth round where I just landed court lund's Sutton, when it will be a trendy pick for even further break out this season after seventy two catches, and over eleven hundred yards last year court sutton joins my most recent fifty Jay more so back to back sending wires, going into their third season should be stars. The only concern on Cortlandt. Sutton of course is the addition of Jerry Judy. They have no fan who's emerging. They did add Melvin. Gordon is a nice pass Catcher, so does he get the same kind of insane target share that he did last year which I want to say off the top of my head, twenty six percent having said that insanely talented player who had some actual bad touchdown luck last year so again at the top around four here as your number two. I think he's your number. Two wide receiver field right. Number two wide receiver. Yeah, anymore at Cortlandt. Sutton is your number. Two receiver I think you're especially in the fourth round. You're feeling pretty good about things seeing if let's see. Carpenters next. Do you feel pretty good about the pick? You just make like? See it there on my screen. Well, it's funny because I just said on my last pick I was going to an address wide receiver and here I am I just took. took. My home and I guess my thinking here is a obviously. He's Patrick. Mahomes. But be one approach to take when I'm building. A team is to try to win each position each week. Got Patrick Mahomes I should win that position most weeks after Travis Kelsey I should win position most weeks. I've Aaron, Jones and todd. Gurley if things click I should be in good shape of both running back spots, and now it has try to lead on the death of wide receiver going forward. If I don't take some to see if it's coming up soon so much. That I guess. We'll have to a lot to do it. Socially Distance right. Hand to slap you across the face Tom, but certainly you're not gonNA. Lose League with Patrick Mahomes on your roster. So you've got we go from. Tom Carpenter to secret squirrel areas kerryon Johnson available secret squirrel. Kerryon. Johnson is still available. It's tough for me. Though because I feel like I have a little bit I. Don't have to worry about the running back position as much based on the running quarterback that I have although I'm sorta at that spot. Where if I wait another round or to do I? Feel like I'm going to get that much less value. When I look at the wide receivers here still need another wide receiver. Keenan Allen I get Keane Allen no longer is going to have Philip rivers, and whether it's going to be tyrod or Justin Herbert. That's going to be throwing the football. He is just that sure handed guy that you know you can always count on I understand. He's coming off a boomer bus season. You know he kind of went back and forth last year wasn't really the. The the Cunanan we wanted all you know throughout the entirety of the year, but this is a guy that's should give me double digit fantasy points every single week, and that's my wide receiver to guy that's going to give me twelve to fifteen on most weeks and twenty, plus on other weeks I love being able to get him here with the value that I have. All right there. You have a key now, but it really interesting team this year, right? There are people that are wondering just an offense. You want to be targeting. Give tyrod Taylor. That's a low volume pass, ernest previous ten years as a starter, both in Buffalo and Cleveland but the value for now in the fourth round seems appropriate for me could have as always eighty, plus maybe even one hundred catches, so from Daniel to Mike Clay we go. Yeah guys. I'm going to go with a player. Who called me out on twitter earlier today? Calvin Ridley. For a little upside here and show them that they're still love between us to look. This guy has been hyper efficient so far in his career, last season cut almost seventy percent of his passes average yards per target. He what we missed some time with the injury, but when he was on the field, he finished twenty-seven better nine of US thirteen outings. How did he very high floor? He was actually wide receiver fourteen the weeks he. He was active, so there's there's just not really many options in this offense. You've Todd Gurley in the backfield. You've Julio Jones. Maybe he didn't. Hers takes over a chunk of what Austin Hooper did. But otherwise it's the Calvin really show, and if thirty one year old Julio Jones drops off or Mrs Time. It's even more work for Calvin release. I'm going to go a little upside here. over some the other options on the board. I'm trying to find a calvin. Really tweet at you right now. Mike I'm going to go track that one down. Yeah, I didn't know you encounter. Early were getting into it. I don't know why you hate Cavan really so much. I'm I'm Hash tag team. Ridley, without even knowing what the dispute is about has an. Drafted Calvin Ridley to say that aired up what I will say here. Mike I agree with you though I, you know. I think Ridley is going to be a very trendy sleeper this year. You know sleeper in the way that Chris God. When was a sleeper last year? Somebody that's going to go in the first round draft, but should have a monster year. You look at his numbers. What's Austin Hooper? Got Injured last year when he gets targets, he produces. They don't have a lot as you mentioned. It's Russell Gauge. It's eight and hers the Tulio. Jones Todd Gurley out of the backfield. I mean they like they don't have very much depth and so given the injury concerns of Julio in his thirty one year old season. Ridley I think is an ascendant player and I. I like the upside here we go from. Mike Clay to Stephanie about why just knows going to sneak me? She always does. We're all sniping each other this because Mike later Calvin, Ridley, who is my next choice right there? And I thought maybe he was doing it because he loves Keenan Alan Keenan Allen got taken from you so. I'm but I'm happy with your little. Cooper Matthew because he's already proven that he could come back from this. Injury he did it. Perhaps better than most in terms of how great he looked from the get-go rate at the gate, had a weird little drop-off about three quarters way through the season, but India macktaz or a touchdown I believe in five consecutive weeks so. He is still going to be a favorite target of Jerry. I know what is work. Ethic is in the off season. I. Can't say much more about him. He's my little cooper. You know good. Call snaking right there Matt and you nail that one from a mile away, so find your take supercup. and. We go from Stefan yet to tristen. Face a difficult choice between four running backs I value pretty equally am clearly going to go there. Having not taken a single of my first three rounds and unusual strategy I'm going to take the upside option of the four, and I'm going to take Jonathan Taylor of the colts and hope that it is going to be his job instead of a one. One Two punch with Marlin MAC MAC did not have a great finish to last year. He had some very disappointing games late and I don't think he draft a player like this. Who put up the numbers? He did in Wisconsin without giving them a sizable role, so I'm going to go for the upside the chance that he runs away with this job. Right the second rookie running back off the board by the way, if my math is correct for Tristan who next up is Damian? Aj Brown here I mean this goes absolute stud. The second half allows season wide receiver six from week eight on he led. All receivers are actually in yards per target. He was second fancy points per catch, so I mean as my clay will tell us. Oh, he will. He will regret that. We're not going to efficiency again, but the volume will also go way up. We saw declined the option on Corey Davis. So I don't think they're going to be trying to work him into the offense too much this season. They don't throw the running back so super talented player and I think he gives the upside. There is a great career with Alan Robinson. Who took the round before being more of a high floor player? The only argument on AJ THE ONLY NEGATIVE ARGUMENT AJ Brown. Is You know? Will he get an increase in volume? Because so much of his production was based on big plays he was getting. The begins. We'd get four targets, or you know have a one hundred yards either one big play. Having said that I'm with you is I. Think he's a special player I. Think they found something. There's clearly a connection between Amazon. Matana. Help I was hoping he would fall to me, so we go from a AJ. Brown to Damian the data filler to not Kool Keith you take a knock Kooky I saw you wearing a browns helmet earlier. Jarvis Landry still out there. Yeah I love Jarvis and all, but I think you gotta go little upside. Here now is really hoping last four picks. You're seeing Ridley Cup and Brown go. I wanted one of those three guys ideally but in that order actually so they went order out and taking him as well in this case I'm. GonNa go with. With Jerry maclaurin I think that what he showed, his rookie was really impressive. I think that there's a lot more growth there for him, and for that offense so I think that they're going to look to him a lot I think target share should be very strong and he's got a lot of big plays in them. As a number two receiver for me I'm pretty excited about him as well. All right Keith. Daycare McLaren's math. You would've liked that. Pick you mentioned. Jarvis Landry is on our map. You are up next. Pick Four. Excuse me. Pick eleven in round. Four I'm GONNA take Jarvis. Landry I'M GONNA. Go this. You're just a structure under Kevin Panicky. Baker as a bounceback year heavy by action, heavy scripted heavy schemed passing game. Season deep south on the Jars Leonard Boys in the coverage. Scheme up underneath catch. Run Opportunity today to will be there. I just like I like the Cleveland Office and I always said that last year to everyone. Did we all know that? Much more structure this year. Among much more play action much define. Reach the quarterback. I like Jarvis Landry. Jarvis Landry the second browns wide receiver to go off the board, and he goes nearly a close around. For Matthew Berry, you actually have the opportunity to close out round four and start round five. Yeah so if you guys remember I went Rut Wide Receiver. Sorry I went running back, running back, running back with my first three picks banking on the fact that there was enough wide receiver depth that would be able to get somebody here at this position and I can't believe that Robert Woods fell to me. Robert Woods is super boring. He doesn't have an interesting name. Name or a wacky nickname or anything like that? All he does is produced fantasy points at top fifteen fantasy wide receiver each last two years. No brandin cooks is is massive target hog as well loved. Little, Cooper Cup two but Robert Woods who was a top fourteen wide receiver last year and I think you only scored. Two touchdowns maybe scored three, but he had bad touchdown. Until no cooks there I think he remains a focal point of that rams passing offense. I Love Robert Woods, as number, one wide receiver again since I've gone running back, running back running back and you know what, since since this define? You took my little Cooper Cup I'll go some upside here with a second wide receiver. Giving some Deebo Samuel who I think has doesn't reminder season top from week eight on he was. Was a top ten fantasy wide receiver last year Emmanuel. Sanders is now in New Orleans. Yes, you've got George biddle there. Yes, it's a run offense, but the the ability of cow Shanahan to get the ball in the deebo Samuel hands in a variety of different ways, and take advantage of all the different skills he brings on the jet sweeps on. The past is getting in and taking advantage yards after catch with deebo. I love Deebo this year. Happy to get him as my number. Two wide receiver and anything goes wrong I can always trade him. Just define. Yeah, I love a good point. They are very good. Point at the end of it so matthew goes wide receiver wide receiver round abandoned. We go right back to Matt Bowen. Field, I'm. GonNa take. Can makers here and you know? You're projecting a little bit there that he wins the number one job in Los Angeles, Vietnam One job is open, I know they draft Gerald Henderson last-resort liked as well come out of Memphis when a team goes back. Draft another running back next year in the second round. The ready to play in candidate. Because look, he's a professional. That's what he showed. Miss Florida State Film Downhill Power Downhill Contact Bounce tested wall to come I can catch the ball in the back of excellent open-field vision, good fifty own scheme, good fit for the flat screen game in La Showman based system I'm bet he wins the job in camp when he's my rb to. You I came in to Florida's stay with major a claim to Matthew and he delivered I know. Has stunk for the past three years, but canker was not the reason they were bad. And he was a touchdown machine at Florida, state field, and then you think about the rams, who last year in the season which their of wine was brutal, they couldn't run the ball effectively. Todd Gurley still had double-digit touchdowns last year because they top three in the NFL in red zone. Rush percentage so I think when they get in close. It is going to be camakers this year. Even if he's part of a committee in the fifth round upside pick we go from Boeing to Keith lipscomb. I'M GONNA. Take a little shot here. I'M GONNA. Go with Kareem. Hunt and. This is all about talent. I just think Kareem Hunt. As a talent is is really going to be difficult to keep off the field and I understand that Nick Chubb is as good as he is because I love watching him play, and he runs so hard, but I think that as a receiver Kareem Hunt especial out of the Backfield, and they're going to find ways to get him matched up with people, the amount of talent that they have on that offense should make that easier. Easier to do, and even though he may not get the workflow there, she would normally want He's going to be a flex for me on nineteen, so it makes it a little bit easier than if he were rb to, but for me as a flex I just think the upside. The Kareem Hunt carries is pretty immense in obviously, if there were an injury that were to strike to nick job than it would make it. Immediately I think Kareem Hunt, could be a top five running back. Keith goes with his heart, and his head there by taking a Cleveland browns player so he. Hunt is what fourth round player they might have more players like anybody else as we are now into the fourth pick of the fifth round. We handed it back to the. Tight end hearing on with Mark Andrews. Who actually would take over his Akers as it just did here, but Andrews targeted on over thirty six percent routes last season that led not only all tied onto, but all players I know Baltimore doesn't throw it allowed, but when they do they throw it to Andrews. Hey hearses gone still trust. The receiver group hopefully Hollywood Brown hasn't better season, but I just think. Even with limited volume has such a massive role in that offense. I like having. Five tight end option here. Stat a pillar with some stats on Mark Andrews, who no longer has to worry about Hayden hers, taking a few snaps away as well. They're all in on Mark Andrews the starting tight end one of the best offenses in football we now move on to one of the Co of the fantasy focus baseball podcast just in h copra. And of the four running backs I mentioned in that tier with my last pick. Two of them remain, which means I've got a choice here. And while I really do like the consistency of Mark Ingram the clutter in that backfield makes me a little bit wary. I'm going to go to Buffalo, which does have similar clutter granted might take a sack is probably going to take the short yardage work and made it a goal line work so I could be missing out on some touchdowns here, but I like different single. Terry Single Terry gives me a decent of upside I think he's ready to take a big step. Is Number one running back? Never the bills were competent single terry going into last year they traded shady McCoy, of even the season I just cut shady McCoy on the eve of the season Frank. Corso got some work, but single. Terry has lots of upside. TRISTEN STAFANI is up next. I can't anew. There we go well, you know. I had to drive to forty nine at some point so. Remote start. I'd just love. His emergence really. You saw late in the prior season, but last year map is gone now. Obviously, there's a tandem between him and Tim Coleman but I love the skillset breakway speed the hands of a special teamer. I think he is the number one. If there's a one to between him and Coleman Jergen still there, but after two years away from the game. He's got a ways to go to earn himself. Earned himself a spot. In playing time and member. I already have Alvin Kamara and Josh Jacob so having most as an extra on bench I love. So. Hard I. Listen Raheen Must Start. A great pick at this point after forty niners stole Trent Williams from me. That offensive line is just GONNA continue to mall people it's it's one of the run. Heaviest teams in the NFL can support to fantasy, relevant wide receivers, and most who was such a star down the stretch for him or Kyle Shanahan in the niners last year. You know could be very special this year in fantasy I liked the fix define it. Let's move on now to Mike Clay. All right so I have two running backs, wide receivers and looking for my flex here. I thought about going Zakar too tight end. He's nice value here, but I liked the depth there so I'm GonNa Take Guy Why of twentieth on my board wide. Receiver T. Y. Hilton, who I think's GonNa sign into a similar role to Keenan Allen for Philip, rivers disease in this colts offense I know he missed time last season, and he's thirty years old, but he was very healthy during the first six seasons of his career, and he was also actually is for seven seasons in the League and was A. Seven fantasy receiver during all of them last year he was thirteenth receiver during the weeks he was healthy, so I expect to bounce back a healthier season from ty tone, and to be a big part of on a good colts team that I think gonNA. Make the playoffs actually have them as the three seed in the AFC. Yet, Mike is already done this projections for the entire League for all of the year to Y. Hilton to make Philip rivers is new quarterback. Daniel Dopp the thrones what he got? So I decided to go tight end here glad Mike didn't go as accurate because he's a guy that can fill out that position for me and I know that I can get a at least a top four guy and some conversation there with Mark Andrews, but here's the thing that is still going to be the number one guy that Philly for Carson Wentz. He's just going to be I'm not worried about the wide receivers. I'm not worried about Alshon. And so for me to be able to get him here, basically as a wide receiver deploy into my imposition, understand that Dallas got it is there, and he's going to be someone to have to watch out four, but I think here at the tail end of the fifth round to get Zach Ertz. Here's pretty good value. Complain About getting what most people consider to be a top three tight in here at. Towards the basically the end of the fifth round I know they loved Dallas Scott there and they've added a bunch of wide receivers, but the truth is. Is that when Carson Wentz is on the field? He likes to throw the middle of feeling like Goddard and. We'll see what happens thousand, Jeffrey and there's a lot of unproven pass. Catchers Philadelphia Right now. ZAC Herd's is one of them so I, believe the. Fourth. Tighten up the board now Zakar. Secret Squirrel, and we now head over Tom Carper. Browns, but I got myself a wide receiver. I was watching inside inside inside I thought he might make it, Timmy! That would have been a nice little bonus, but I remember they Jay Green. You know the health is an obvious concern. But if he does come back full health, taking that full season off getting his his ankle back into shape, oath the hit the ground, running and you know. The last time we saw him was one of the top seven to ten wide receivers in the game, so hoping that comes through. He's back. He's healthy. That's good news and by the way the Bengals Skill Group Looks Pretty Fun on paper right now. He is the first of their wide receivers to be selected I'm up next and I took the last tight end. That I think has the chance to be the target leader in an offense that I. have some real competence in that is an ingram of the giants got to stay healthy. We all know that. The the giants skill group is one of the most fascinating and football. They just didn't get the chance to play together last year, but I liked that offense on paper, going into the season and that means. Kospi is up next. Missing! Dj Chart here. I mean he's not even twenty four years old yet. Number one target that off I. Don't think four nets going to be there. When all sudden done every game start, you know. Start up this year, so we're looking at a target show. This should be twenty. Maybe twenty five percent takes a step forty six foot three come on I think Jacksonville's plant from behind with no run game I, like where I'm at irritates by wide receiver, three flex, Binoche, and I mean listen. It was a top. Top, twenty wide receiver, and that was mentioned last year coming in, you know just sort trying to find the field. They're going to be a much more pass. Friendly offense under Jay. GRUDEN WHO's their new offense greater Ben mcadoo, the new quarterbacks coach, both guys like the throw. It's going to be a very throw heavy offense so like the pick of DJ shark getting him at the end of the fifth round. We now go to the other co host of the fantasy focus baseball podcast Eric Care Bell for two. To two running back situations to your, where a team drafted a kid early on the Ravens, don't think have to go to J K Dobbins right away, so I took Mark Ingram. who was a top ten running back last season? Scores touchdowns can catch passes I don't think Dobbins going to be a much of a factor right away for Baltimore for Detroit, they have to use the Andrea swift white away because Kerryon, Johnson is not that good DOPP shaking his head, but he's wrong. That swift is a monster philly kid caught passes and ran the ball really well Georgia Young, not a lot of mileage on those tires. touchdowns right away I thought he would go around earlier so I don't want. Take two rookies, but I don't WanNa take two older players, either so swift and England from me. All Right Air Care Bill goes back to back with running back in announcement here. Picture being reduced down to forty five seconds. It's rapid fire. We may not get to every single victim in this podcast. We'll get to some of the notable ones, so we move along here to the sixth round, and I am now up and I'll just tell you that I'm taking joined element because we thought about great connections of all time in the game of Football Jerry Rice and Joe. Montana Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. Who Says Jared Jillian element can't be the next great connection. No one says that yet. Who can't stand you never know what's going to have to throw it a somebody, so it'll be interesting whether it's whether it's kill. Harry we'll see what happens in new, England we now move on from Julian Element and he'll. Yates were forty five seconds on the clock. As we try to move this along and Tom, carpenter is up. To my second wide receiver, their decay, metcalf love his talent love is. Love his opportunities I. Think it's GonNa have a huge year. So from Tom Carpenter Outta secret squirrel. Secret Squirrel I shaking my head hair. Available I wanted the Andrei Swift not because of what you said about carrying on Johnson wanted him to be a couple. More picks I need a running back. I'M GONNA, go with James Connor. I understand the injury concern, but listen. This is a kid that we've seen absolutely crush it when he's healthy and big Ben back in that you get rolling. He's a guy that can be great value you in the sixth round from me if you can stay off. James. James Connor now, secret squirrel over to Mike. All right so I went. Where did I go here? I went Darren Waller at the imposition position so again from the last time I. Add my two running backs. Receivers I'm just looking at starting sponsor. Tight end and quarterback obviously GONNA lean towards tight end, and I have a top five on my board year with waller had such a high four last season with the raiders that they massive I know they injected some life into the wide receiver position, but while. We're still going to be a huge part of that offense, so I'll take him gladly here. All right, so Mike. You are falling right after that with by Stefania, and you made a very notable selection here. That's right. Do you remember when this guy you speak drafted like the end of the first of the beginning of the second round and then? Playing on one leg with a bad arm and you know bad back now. He's had a year off and. There's a reason that he back to the game of football. His favorite quarterback Rob Gronkowski obviously. Look! I know. There's competition at the tight end position. But honestly who do you think Tom Brady is to? Rocky Sean Vaughan. So. So yeah, so just moving along quickly here Fall by devante Parker defined digs in their buoyed. Damian took Stefan digs interesting player just because really talented, but we wonder how fit within that Buffalo. Offense Josh. Allen needs to improve accuracy. Wise was fifty eight point eight percent last season. Here's an interesting one. That just took place. Matt Bowen, are Film Guru One of the smartest guys you'll meet goes with Henry rugs the third from the last being Raiders Matt you bullish on his prospects. I haven't feel look at look at the time seven. We get down to fill these much more. Anderson Vertical Guy feel there's detail to his route. Running the played pro treat Alabama I understand their cars very much vertical thriller. They're gonNA run over also. GonNa Run Cross. This guy can catch the ball. Take it to a house in the three steps slant route I. Think gives more violent people. Again there you have it there. He certainly fast, and you mentioned apples a lot more to his game. Matthew you're back on the clock for a pair of picks. Yeah so first off I went. Remember went running back, running back running back and then it went. Let's see? And then I went and I went to wide receivers, and so I've got a stack right here I? Dag Prescott as my number three quarterback here again. We pick on the end yet. Remember like it's twenty. Some odd picks before you get to pick again, so you gotTa grab you. I thought that Prescott and Michael Gallup so I like that connection right there. I. Don't think people realize how close Gallup was production-wise to Amari Cooper last year, their numbers were much more similar than I think you might think at first glance, and so I- Gallup an emerging player, adding to my wide receiver depth, because I went with the three running backs up top so. You know adding to that wide receiver dept and getting back. To the top three quarterback this year, he was a top three quarterback last year. Unlike the two players there. Right we're into the seventh round. People are starting to choose quarterback. The board depth layer running backs. Rookies are flying off the board. These teams are starting to shape up anything. Stand out to you. Matthew picture amongst players that are still available. yeah. Mean? There's a lot of guys right, and so it's always interesting. Listen in this group. quarterbacks always laugh the fact that you know Kyla. Marine Shawn Watson. Russell. Wilson are still out there as well. You know but the death of wide receiver again. It's like sort of really incredible I mean it's pretty ugly when you start getting the running backs here, but there's a there's still some really good wide receivers out there. Sure are yep, it's an. Out throughout the draft process, there are plenty of depth at the wide receiver spot in general here we have seen though a little mini. Ron Of quarterbacks starting to come off the board here in the seven ground as we have. Just a few minutes left, I was just thinking about. Maybe he's launch. Everybody give sort of an analysis of their team so far how they're feeling about some. I'm going to start some good online here. I'm GONNA start with. Eric Care Milk because you pick last. How about you get first crack up just general thoughts and fifteen twenty thirty seconds about your team so far. Yeah I mean I was a little surprised that both Leo Jones and Tyreek. Hill Phil fell to the last pick of the first round I had to take the both I'm not I'm I'm I'm happy with my team so far? I have enough running backs. I'm GONNA take some money back upside. Fix later on a wait until the quarterback only because I need one, but this is kinda going the way I. thought it would a couple surprising picks I guess the fight ends early and a quarterback more Jackson Mahindra pretty similar, but they didn't go similar in this draft. Agree on. That one eric. You're up next. I love the team I put together here quite honestly I mean everybody else saying like Daniel. I want to see what my team looks like. Lamar matches at something. Similar in map owns as up until I just GonNa win this league with this team. I opened with the pair running backs. Three receivers after that all my receivers are gonNA catch touchdowns ton of volume from my running backs up top like Eric. quarterback when I grab a quarterback but I'm happy with what I did from the spider so. Kyle calling. You the way. Kyle looks at a rapid team in May. You know when carpenter what do you think on yours? Who Me. Calm Carpenter. down. I'm the real time carpenter the I. I don't I wouldn't normally take a quarterback, and it's early as you say. Tight ends lot of early on especially with group I know we could. Wait and wait and wait and take a quarterback around seventy, five and other good starter. But overall pretty hard with his team I got I got a an elite quarterback Lee tight end. Of the good running backs, I got a little luck with the wide receivers I'm going to stack them up a little bit more going forward, and hopefully my team will work out just fine secret squirrel. You are up next year team recap, and for those are listening right now. A full recap of this draft be available online via the just as you heard from Tom Carpenter on the clock by the way Daniel. You tell us about your squad. Yeah, this thing. Sometimes you try something in a mock draft to see how the team plays out to decide whether you want to take into a real world situation. Situation Having Lamar Jackson I do not love Levy and Bella James Connor as to starting running backs for the season as part of that, I have to remember I drafted Lamar to sort of be running back for me. Give me some of those running back numbers as well as well as a passer, so loved the Andrea Hopkins Love Keenan Allen. Even though I understand the worries there and getting Zach. Ertz, I like a lot of what I did, but I just feel so underwhelming at running back. It's GonNa make me have to try the strategy a couple more times before I feel comfortable with it. I like your honesty. How about you might clay? Squad ain't really take many chances since I didn't have to. I just found values on the board for the most part informed at running back Adams Ridley and Hilton at wide receiver, one of being a flex and Russell Wilson got myself a borderline top five quarterback and Darren lawlor top five tight end, so I'm really happy with that it solid. It's high floor. It's reliable and now I can go after upside in the second half of my draft. Strategy I, like the way. It's worked out so far. Store a bell. What can you tell us about your squad? I like my running backs quite a bit i. Went with two running backs off the top Josh Jacobs. The wide receiver so wide open. I almost want to go back and look when we're all done in. See like where the best value comes into play. I'm thinking about you know. The thing is I. Think there are a couple rookie. Wide receivers were primed to make an impact right away. Just kind of curious to see where all of us pick them in how that balls you know as we get closer to the season. Already and move along from Stefania to our team recap, you go. I'm feeling pretty strong, wide receiver and tight end taking those guys in my first three picks. I've got a pretty strong foundation. They're feel right with wide receiver depth as well, but it's kind of a to be determined based on the upside running back in the later rounds. My big worry with that is you know I'm a big proponent of taking my quarterback late letting value fall into my lap if that doesn't happen, coupling met with the weakness running back, not having a lead guy something that might concern me, so we'll see how this plays out. Damian, how about you? So I ended up hearing a lot of upside and floor players here. I kind of want with Mile Sandra pretty early. Purdham with kind of the safety of Zeke same thing with AJ Brown to go with the high floor, Allen Robinson and then i. kind of I didn't I don't think I reached island pretty early up. Tight end with mark, Andrew. Murray, because even though this is a twelve team league I, think only starting to receivers, only having the one flex actually think that they're still going to be usable players later in the draft and on free agency, so I wanted to grab lead options on those positions. Already from Damian. Over to eclipse gun. Generally happy with my team I'm never I. Never Get too excited about my team because I always feel like I could have done something differently, but. I think getting starting off with Barclay and David Johnson I was very happy to get to good pass catching backs. Who I think have big seasons. feeling was a really nice I was happy to see him fall where he did not. maclaurin is a guy. I just think has has some upside to to take another step this season. I got tyler. Digby is my tight end. It was Kinda last tight end that I was willing to. To take before you know before I had to wait a little bit longer and just take very and I do like Kareem. Hunt I think that he's a guy that he will factor into that offense for sure, and and be a better player than I. Think people were expecting and seller. Boy Does my last wide receiver selection I took and I'm also very happy with him. Things are very very steady player and I think I have a big season. Joe Borough. All Right Matt Bowen. How about you thought your thoughts on your team? Like my squad fuel I think he questioned my selection of Cook over. Zeke and Saquon but I'm back. Offense destruction, the place that see he brings juice to that offense. To Wide Receivers Evans and Gowda scoring upside. We talked about evidence. You know there might not be as many vertical opportunity to Tom Rating how that Auckland's adapt so his throwing style Tampa? Look at the upside. Guys got the CAM makers on the rookie out of Florida state. WHAT LOS ANGELES! Rams are took a shot in the head ruts. I really believe get more binding than people think. And I'm a fan of his gate. Then I picked up David Montgomery Someone told coach Nagy up and Scotland need football a little bit more Get Him involved traits. Are they're? About to once Keith makes his big who? Grandma tided fan I think fans prime for breakout season Denver this year. I'll can't pass on through. Locks got a big arm. That office in Denver is very interesting to me. You're so young so much of it seems they do. All Right Matthew let's go to you. What are your thoughts on your squad? I really liked my squad quite a bit. Every everyone sort of does I was wondering how playoff by rap from three running back I obviously McCaffrey but then Carson and Clyde Edwards Hilar-. I'm going to I'm now drafting Damian Williams so I have whoever the starting running back is the chiefs. And that is a very enviable position. I love the fact that Robert Woods Felton me I think is like a borderline top twelve guy. In legit low end wide receiver, one Diba, who I love Gallop who I talked and now. So I. Think There's some Nice wide receiver depth there. I back top three quarterback at this point two tight ends. I'll wait I'll get a decent tight end. There's a lot of this year. If you don't get one of the elite guys, I think there's a lot of depth at the position and so again sort of looking at wide receiver here. because. That's an area where I could use some about some Christian Kirk, who showed flashes last year and I think that whole offense in Arizona takes another step forward. deandre Hopkins is obviously the one there, but I think kirk is the to when it comes to fantasy value in Arizona. Offense is going to points. Make throwing a ton so overwrought I, love Martine. Lots of insight there for Matthew. I like my team is well. I went running back, running back to begin Eric Henri and Kenyan Drake, which allow me to attack the depth of wide receiver later on, that'll be a strategy that I planned to follow out my trap process again. Top 5 WRs After Round 10 (07/01 Fantasy Football Podcast)

"This is fantasy football today from CBS sports got. Mail us at fantasy football ed CBS I dot Com. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. Of of Chaney and he thought five week continues here. What do John Brown? Michael Gallup coralline, sudden and decay metcalf have in. Guys probably guests, but I haven't common those four fellows. High, average DEFA targets no come on man. What's the topic today? They were all. Later well after round Ted not, round center later. They're actually all drafted in round eleven round. Eleven was really good last year, according to fantasy football calculator, full PTR ADP, but after that not so good, but yeah, those guys John Brown Michael Gallup Court Sun Vk Metcalf. Tyrel Williams also after round ten, so we've got our top five wide receivers after round ten. Welcome to the show. You're hearing this on Wednesday. It's technically Tuesday. So I had a team named Tuesday. What did you think of limpest gets Chenault? No. What did you think of the biscuits and all you always? Thought! It was absolutely just. To. What is the thing like? What is there an album from limp biscuit that sounds like Chenault no, but live the VISCO. Biscuit don't sound alike like Chenault on there at the end face out like I. You got that part of. Twitter will do limp biscuit viscous satellite, yes. See results. See what happens there. You know what you each gaming. The five of them, so that was cool. We have fifteen players to talk about today. Jamie! Kick it off your favorite after around ten. Remember the ones. I sent you because I liked a lot of the ones that been gave you. Okay you. It. Yes. The favorite one that I sent you Steve Simms I like Steve Simms for Washington. I like the way close the year last year. I think he's going to play in the slot for doing Haskins and be somebody that Scott Turner. Leans on the offense coordinator for Washington so he some of that look for with a late round pick in mostly deeper leagues, but I have a problem with them if if I knew a fifth or sixth receiver NPR. He's. It was really weird because I didn't send my list. Until the first ten names had been submitted and my top five highest ranked players after round ten. We're all still available, so I like all these guys a lot, but sterling shepherd will be mind. He was right around a twenty percent target share in the games that he was healthy last year. Think he has an excellent chance to be the giants number, one wide receiver, this season and I. There was a dip in an inefficiency last year. He had a rookie quarterback. Daniel Jones should be better as a passer this year. Where where's he going after around time? Because I didn't see that on. NFC in the month of June. He is being redrafted and ran eleven. That's crazy. That's just amazing value. Yeah, that's what I've been using to NFC. If you just want to Google IT NFC Fantasy, football ADP, and you can change the date ranch, so I'm just using June first on, and I'll just keep using that, or maybe as we get, you know maybe I'll do like July. First July fifteenth or something to be getting deeper into July, but yeah, that's what I've been using fact I'm going to submit that right now. Get the ADP. Okay, so sterling shepherd for Heath Steven Sims, and Ben. You are now required to stay in the NFC east the NFC sky. You do actually and and he must have initials S.. Yeah, that's going to be tougher. What are you? So I I wrote your list yesterday and I wrote with the top five on my ranks, and then other ones that I really liked cost I. I think if you say your favorite for me. It's Levinsky channel who you lead with and. He said none none of the guys overlap. He did overlap for US album it as an honorable mention, and and Allen Lazard I believe. I was just like your top five. I'm so yeah, yeah, yeah, those are the next five ahead. Ranch in all goes a lot later but I think channel has a really great opportunity to be the jags number two and I don't think people really really recognize it. As kind of similar to the running back position, we talked about recently. How many running backs were drafted the top two rounds this year so many more than than several years. Same thing happened with wide receiver this year. There was a lot of skill position players. It went high in the draft. So I think channels getting forgotten about because it rookie drowsy, he started to go mid to late second round, but in prior years that would be like a third or fourth round receiver does the guy who went relatively high in the in the second round. I think it was like ten or twelve pigs into the second round. But he was like the sixth or seventh. Receive off the board, so it's a little bit like that. There's a little bit of a muted. Enthusiasm about him, but he was very good at Colorado use a lot of different ways used in the backfield, and racked up a bunch of rushing touchdowns as well as not just making a lot of places near the line of scrimmage, but also downfield, but what I really love besides Gardner mid shoes. The man is Dede Westbrook is now. GonNa be twenty seven in November which might shock you because he came in as a twenty four year old rookie, and he has not yet hit seven hundred and fifty yards as a former fourth round pick pretty comfortably can say that is not going to be a star at any point in his career Chris Conley throughout most of his first stint with Kansas City is first contract was. Was a player who would at times play tons of snaps, but not draw a Lotta targets and even last year. When he had his best year to date, he played all sixteen games. He only had ninety total targets. He's not really a guy who gets opened a ton and draws a ton of targets I. Just don't think his competition between Westbrook and calmly for that number to role. Is GonNa. Stop Him at all if he is good as I, think he is. What the Hell is so funny he. Takkula breakdown of one of my top five guys. Do you know what top five means like? How is one of your your favorite guy? After around ten a guy that was not on your top five guys after around ten, I was tired. Sammy walking schedule. That, there's no way you're taking Sammy. Watkins over Shnell, have him ranked higher, but yeah, you're right. So, he said the viscous. Bed to die. Okay, that's your. Role the next five guys guy. List. Favorite guy so I wrote. These are all guys that I like it cost, and should not. You can get in a fourteen team league me and towers took him I. Don't even know fifteenth round or something, and it like almost felt too early. Still you don't have to. You can take them with your last pick Okay, so by the way, if you had been clever and we had asked for an NFC, east wide receiver with the initials SSU would've said Sean Shackleton who is on your list? Actually right you do like. Not Joke de Sean Jackson. You should have been Sammy Sat Kim from Gordon. All, right? We'll get some more probably right now. Actually I know a couple of news items, and then we'll get back into the rest of seconds is pretty good. Yeah, that was better than Sean Jackson anyway big news big big news CBS sports. Matt rule had coached. The panthers was talking about Teddy Bridgewater saying that he could throw downfield more and he's. He's been pretty conservative quarterbacks. But they've got Robbie Anderson. They got Curtis Samuel. They got DJ more so more downfield throws for Teddy Bridgewater Jamie. You think that's an order. It just cracks me up when you hear these things like his, his job is to throw the ball. And other thing he's going to throw the ball downfield. Thank you. Yes the ball downfield. It may not be the best downfield thrower. He may not be the best down for May Not Pretty. Deep. Ball, that you're going to see but. I hope so. Why would you bring in Robbie? Anderson Curtis Samuel why would you? Just want to keep Dj more in in a in a box essentially You had to open things up so hopefully they'll let him do that. Okay and I talked about this on on the Sunday night, bonus pod and brought it up like wow, what is what is Cam Newton's contract? Tell you about what the NFL thinks. Have Cam Newton well. We got a report today that new. England was the only team to offer came to new contract. Does that change anything for you guys because you didn't really seem to. Care on the Sunday night. Show that you know it took until almost July he gets a one year. Deal wasn't a lot of interest around the league. It seems now you see this report that new. England was the only one that offered Cama contract. Does that matter Ben? You were you were the most adamant that it did not seem to matter. It doesn't matter for me. Because I think New England's different and I. my hypothesis was New England had been in contact with him throughout he was potentially holding out for you. Know a more lucrative offer then. We didn't have the money to offer that and. That offer never materialized doesn't really matter I think what matters is. We can pretty much read that that New England was. Willing to make this move in and take this chance and probably that was. Like as Jamie pointed out the timing of the announcement being right when they got hit with sanctions, this was probably in the works for some time. I would imagine any team that called his representation and said we liked to bring him for workout if he had any contact with the Patriots already. He said he's. We're waiting or no or you know we're good. I. Mean You don't know that that happened, but a win. Surprise me if he did. All, right, let's get back to. Let's get to our favorite wide receivers after round ten in a twelve team league. So pick one twenty-one and beyond heath I'm GonNa. I'M GONNA lump in into wide receivers for you. Sterling Shepherd, and Golden Tate both Major List Shepherd, going one hundred, thirty, four, th Golden Tate about twenty picks later. I assume you obviously like Sheppard better talk about those guys shepherd and take. Yeah I just think and tate could easily be the best wide receiver for the giants. That's why I've got both of them on the list, but one of those guys I'd expect to at least be twenty two twenty three percent target share I think the giants would prefer to run the ball more this year, but I'm not sure that their defense or quarterback will be good enough to do that and then I don't mean that as a slight against Daniel Jones in that, he's not going to be good for the passing game it just that he's probably going to turn the ball over a ton because he pretty much always has. I. Do think there's a chance with shepherd, a guy that's generally been around eight and a half yards per target. If he gets one hundred twenty targets, you're looking at it. Thousand Yard Wide Receiver, and he's a good chance to lead them and touchdowns as well. He's always had a high catch rates. We should be pretty good. Pr. All of the things I'm saying could go for Golden. Tate I mostly just prefer shepherd, because he's still in his prime and tastes kind of moving towards the end of his career. Then you're going to be so impressed with me. I was all about the Ada this afternoon, looking at golden tape. Do you see what's going on with golden? Tate's average depth, the target much different than his Detroit Day is he was usually around six six yards, eight dot with Detroit was like nine with the giants. He had a career like he had. Had not a career low, but one of his lowest catch rates, but one of highest yards per catch, so he was a very different wide receiver and two years in a row now, so really changed me got traded to Philadelphia. He hasn't been a high catch guy anymore. I mean if you're if you're sitting there thinking about Golden. Tate as a PR stud. I don't know if that anymore, but he he was still was on pace to have a really good year. But what do you make of that? Ben? The fact that he's changed. Is You know not as he's running deeper routes? Nine is still quite a bit below league average for receiver, which is right around eleven so he's still not like a downfield threat and so i. To say that. You know he's running. Some deep is true, but also I. I'm more concerned that his efficiency dipped as much as it did like his catch fell below sixty percent. any still wasn't even at at League. Average depth like that's kind of an issue I. Don't know if he even still has it anymore. He's going to be thirty two in a month and. He really have the size that that the or even necessarily the track record that I think ages. You know gracefully so. We'll see I. Mean I agree with if he could, he could be a twenty percent target. Sure Guy, but I just I don't know that he hasn't anymore. Okay Yeah. It's when you when you look at his sixteen game pastes almost a thousand yards and nine touchdowns last year, and if you remove week five, which was his first game of the year after suspension with a brand new quarterback, he was terrible six games, even better than a thousand yards, so he had it. He had a pretty solid year. Golden kind of quietly. He is the last giants wide receiver off the board. Last question I'll throw it all of your Jamie you start Daria Slayton one hundredth, overall sterling shepherd one hundred and thirty th overall. I would take shepherd I. Think the the thing with the giant receivers. One other news item is there was video released on Monday of Evan Ingram running. First, time that I think any of the giants reporters have seen him running or any I guess any of us have seen in running, so that's a good sign that he's going to be hopefully healthy from delivering injury. And when you factor embark I. Mean they're five. Pass catching ops in this offense. So do you have the ability for any of these guys to be starting? Fantasy caliber players aside from Barkley in an England because the positions that they'd like. I think Slayton has the highest ceiling this group just based on what his downfield ability could be, and what is touchdown? Potential could be, but shepherd is my pain as the highest floor so I think if you're looking at it from what's the best to play with the giants receivers? You could say okay. I'll take the last one which would be tate who could have been numbers who's the better of the two between Slayton and. Shepherd in a format that matter PR PR half, but if that's the difference. If it's you know forty plus pics, then I'd rather have shepherd, but I think the swing for the fences. Play is probably slightly after what he showed us. Okay, he's It was about thirty picks. I think was. About thirty picks between SLAYTON and shepherd. I can't imagine you. You're taking slate in there. I will take shepherd about thirty picks before I'd take seriously. When Sterling Shepherd and Golden Tate or sterling shepherd or Ingram. Whenever two of those guys were healthy last year dairy late night like a ten percent target share, he needed to of those guys to be out, and then he had like a thirty percent target Sharon had some monster games, but he he didn't really get the football when they had even two guys outed and never had everybody healthy last year. There there have to receivers on the field, he's not one of the two. He's he's the unique guy. I mean the five players. You named Barclay. Ingram Shepherd. Tate Slayton's going downfield as Jamie said so. That's one thing you like about him, but you know if you WANNA. Just look at the Games that I've given this that before the Games that Daniel Jones and those three wide receivers all played. Slayton did have the worst stats shepherd and tate were pretty even. So but it was a rookie. Rookie and now he's GonNa, have not not necessarily a whole offseason at work because of we're off season, but. you know young players get better and gold one. You're older, you know I I. Don't think we should expect trance to be identical year over year in these types of situations, the thing that Slayton has going for him in the the I would probably stick shepherd cost, but the argument I would make for him. What Jamie said that he's you know the the boom pick if all of these targets are split pretty evenly. SLAYTON's the guy with the High A. Dot, and you know it's funny. You ask that question on top of the show and I said what are the common? Will they all have downfield profiles? None of those guys got huge target shares because we're actually really pretty good at. Identifying clarice will get high target shares. It's kind of a skill at the wide receiver position, and you don't really find guys. Late drafts that give huge target shares, maybe sometimes young breakouts Terry Maclaurin last year but Colin Sutton I think it was just over one twenty. You mentioned John. Brown about one ten. When fifteen decay metcalf was right at a hundred even targets none of these. These guys hundred and three hundred forty target guys that had good years. They were efficient because they had the downfield profile. They had the ability to put up big numbers if they were efficient because of that downfield profile Slayton has that working for him if these targets are split where he could put up better stats, because of that I feel like slate in a poor man's fold. Injury Checker. Missed two games. So. He's got that. Yeah, it's kind of funny. The giants actually there are three wide receivers. All had eighty three to eighty five targets of course late and played fourteen games tape played eleven and shepherd at ten, but it was funny how that worked out our? Let's get a few more names here. Why don't we just run through heatless? Especially since it shorter now that Ben Stole One of skies this guy, should. Allen lazard with someone. You mentioned heath someone you like after around ten. Trying to buck a trend here of green bay, their second leading receiver, three straight years has not had more than six hundred sixty yards. Is this the year? We're going to get a second reliable option for the packers. I hope so I. Mean I think part of the reason for that is they've had these stretches where one guy emerges, and then kind of disappears and Allen Lazard. Like yeah, you only had five hundred yards, four hundred seventy seven yards. He didn't even play until week six last year. He clearly had the trust of Aaron. Rodgers almost immediately, rogers fed up with those other wide receivers. This what they are trying to do in terms of running the football more may not work really well in terms of him getting a ton of targets, but there's some upside there. In terms of with Jimmy Graham not there I don't know how many targets that are tight ends are going to get and i. do think just giving him a full season of the type of production. He was giving us last year makes him worth more than where he's being drafted. What are you guys haven't projected for? Hit Green better yet, but. I am a little bit concerned. You're talking about a and I. Love Lazard, and I have made that pretty obvious over the the season for anyone who's been listening all offseason. Here's a guy who had a really good production profile didn't really get an opportunity coming out of college, he was ub say it's kind of like the Tyler Johnson of the twenty twenty draft class but now that he's gotten into a role, which is typically the hardest part for a UDF. You've gotta look back at that production profile headed Iowa state and be really optimistic but my my concern is got gotta run heavy offense, and you have a really target dominant number one. So what? Where's the upside for? You know that stuff's tough. I got him at seventy, four, nine, hundred and four. And he is going. Much better than that he can do I agree with that. He feels like a high floor option, but I don't know how much better he can do. Do, you guys think that Devin funchess could outperform him. Like thickly now, obviously he could, but if he scores a bunch of touchdowns I would be more encouraged Jay Stern Burger outperformed him well, of course because he's a tight end. Give us another option at that position right right well, but we always say funches tight end, so maybe we should just change show changes eligibility. That would help. All right two more well. You WanNa talk about Chenault Real Quick Heath. I. Think Ben said virtually everything that could be said. How would you? Rather. Have Chenault or lazard or tate. I would rather have lazard, but I would take Chenault overtake. And the last one is pressed Williams. WHO Yes was! It all for the nookie right. How? I was like. I was trying to make a living. He's GonNa look at some rookie records and be like. Give me something to break. Through. That would have been that would been great visor I was just pulled in separate quick, because I couldn't remember it, but funchess signed for a one a one year contract for two and a half million, only a million guaranteed. That's a pretty limited contract so I. Yeah, that's no good. Okay Preston. Williams slightly better than Devante Parker. Well was he fantasy points I'm not sure if you're in touch. No, you should have just stopped right there and not even been talking about last year. is slightly better than. About that but they they had very similar stats in the eight games. Williams played he had more targets more receptions and more yards and devante parker before he went down I. Think Parker did have more touchdowns. He Will Maury me. Bursts your bubble, though with Ryan Fitzpatrick Parker. Had more targets. Rosen seemed to really love press waves. And how many who was the difference? Pretty close like five targets or something. Okay so I. Just think that like we've seen Parker fail for Four Seasons And Preston Williams came in as a rookie. And was get had more production than Barker before he got hurt and all indications, we have the press. Williams is on track to be ready for week one and even if Devante Parker Ryan Fitzpatrick have some sort of friendship. We don't know how long Fitzpatrick's going to be the starting quarterback, so if I have to choose between Devante Parker at the end of round five start around six in Preston Williams round twelve. That's a pretty easy choice. Jamie thoughts on the dolphins. I generally avoid devante Parker for a lot of the things. He said I. Think for the dolphins receivers you WANNA. Have Ryan Fitzpatrick. Start the majority of the season because he is going to not care about coverage, he's GonNa throw into tight windows. He's going to give a receivers options to succeed. He's done that throughout his career. But. He also tends to favor one guy and we'll see if that's going to be the case if it's still going to be Parker. He has a good report with or Williams. WHO WAS You know starting to build towards something before the day. See out there and look. We still have to see that. He's one hundred percent, but if if it is I want a piece of the dolphins passing game. Because, they could be trailing, because they may still struggle to run the ball. We saw year even though the running back should be better. I think Williams in round twelve is is probably the better bet to try and. See what you can get from that as opposed to maybe overpaying for Parker, modify. Yeah, and by the way it was only three target difference in the five games that Ryan Fitzpatrick started What's that? Problem percent, but slightly bursts slightly versus still parker. Who knows how many snapped like the Games were. In half, the game. I did I did not chart like every snap with the because sometimes, both quarterbacks played certain game. So yeah, let's just call it even. Just think to to not going to help these guys win. Don't have good Games, but I just don't think he's. He's the best thing for their receiving. Everybody thinks sterling. Shepherd is the best this group Shepherd Lazar. Tate Press Williamson Chenault. Of the guys that we talked about Yes ben had another guy that I like a lot which is Anthony. Miller again I didn't know he's going that late after Tan, but. He's somebody that I drive a lot of just because I. Think the opportunities there. He really well last year in the five games Taylor Gabriel Out I. Don't think Ted Ginn Riley Ridley are going to necessarily be a significant factors in taking things away from what Miller should hopefully do so I would take shepherd I, but I miller from what's flooded out, he's. Other. It. Anthony or didn't even Bake Ben's final five. That's how best. Can take. The! Guy Who? Wins, top five dollars for just talking about all of his honorable mentions because it seems like he likes i. Follow the rules at all. It was is Ben. Ben Felt left out from the running backs because Adam forgot email, so he's like. Around half all right cool all right, so you know what Ben Stop Five coming up next with Brennan. Nikiel hairy, and then some more veteran guys pretty interesting. This that are not actually his up five. WHO KNOWS Rake! Did my top five favorites? Okay, all right well, we'll do the top five highest rank, the hell of a tease Adam coming back some guy's name. Five people when we come back, we'll be right back. Fantasy football today CA. It's nothing personal. By Brandon I is I up Ben's top fifteen list here South Five. Every late round receiver. Yeah, pretty much. What are you? What do you like about you? I mean he's very good. After the catch in college, and had some strong return production dating back to when he was in Juku. That fits the San Francisco offense very well and now do samuels dealing with the you know a Jones fracture? We don't know if you'll be ready for week. One and I think that would. Probably mean the a you have to play something similar to that deebo Samuel. Roll right out of the gate, already thought he was going to be a pretty significant part of this offense sanders, old role but I think there's some some chance that he comes out of the gate kind of fire, and in weeks one and two, and has you know pretty big impact right away like we saw from markey's brand last year. Would you rather have brand? Or just in Jefferson and how is it I? It's easily. I like Jefferson a lot. I just don't know how he fits, and it's I think that forty niners will probably add some passing this year. I'm not sure how the Vikings might have to just because a game script, but They're both lower lower volume offenses, but I just think you a better fit, and they'll scheme him in ways that make it easier on him to get some stats. What does the most targets that are receiver has received since Kyle Hands Been San Francisco. It's a peer Garzon. Stat Oh in San Francisco. I'm sure it's kiddle no receiver. Probably not much because there's been audits of guys you know. Depot had eighty one last year. That was more than anybody had the year before. He's Markey's Goodwin got one hundred five. I would I would take over Jefferson if you told me right now. That Samuel Start on the populace. It's the unknown because Samuel is ready for week when he said he's going to be back at ten weeks, and clearly the Jones fracture or something to keep an eye on because the recurrence of. Of Injury but. If he's the guy there for the majority of the season. Then he should be in the mix for the best rookie receiver and potential, maybe borderline fantasy starter, but you know depending on how much Samuel plays. That's the. The next two guys I'm Ben's lists are Q., hairy and Mike Williams and I think Harry is is interesting to compare to Mike Williams says Mike Williams. His rookie season was actually worse than Harry's Elliott Ninety five yards. No touchdowns at twenty three targets and ten games. He dealt with injury. It was completely lost season, and then he had ten touchdowns following year, but he only had sixty six targets, but it was you know tension is one thousand yards in your three Mike Williamsville before we get to Mike, Williams let's talk about to kill Harry. Who obviously was disappointing, but it's just a reminder that give up on first round pick rookie wide receivers, even if their first year or second wide receivers I guess in this case if they're rookies doesn't go that well. Yeah and I think. He's a really fit with Cam, Newton. We talked about this a little bit on Sunday. how Kelvin? Benjamin had a huge rookie season Devin funchess had a breakout season at as age. twenty-three-year-old think it was his third year, but he was very young rookie. and they're similar outside big type receivers both those guys are a little, bigger, bodied but Nicole. Harry's a little thinner is more like an AJ green typer devante Parker type. But I think it's an interesting fit. And I think part of the reason that works with cameras. He's willing to take shots in the in the red zone and put balls high his release point and thought he's those kind of those lasers that are elevated in in those bigger can get them, and then I can just kinda see that fit really really nicely with the Harry I'm starting to really come round now on Harry, who already thought? Have had the potential bounceback much like you said in the mold of Mike Williams, there's not much we can talk about with his rookie season, but he was a very good producer in college was a worthwhile first-round pick, and the Patriots aren't going to give up on on guy that talented after one year. There's no way. Jamie and he. Who would you rather have? Mike? Williams or Nikiel Harry. At this point I think. If I needed a receiver I would take Mike Williams if I was just trying to play upside technical here. But I'd probably lean hair either way. I yeah. Like they're at the stage of my rankings. I'm not even sure my ranking of the matters they're. They're not in my top fifty I'd probably I've got Williams rang. Tyrel say Williams And I don't have anything against my whole thing and I'm struggling with this with the Patriots, offense and I. Didn't I know Ben at tweeted something about this there? They've behaved during the draft in this off season like a team that wants to really be a power running defense team and I don't think chewing almonds just going to like completely go away and camp through it to his running backs plenty I. Don't think James I. Don't changing the offense completely so I just don't know how many targets are going to be there for Harry. And I. DON'T WANNA sound I don't WanNa pick on this guy, but man like tyrod Taylor is such a bummer to me for fantasy purposes just. I got. It fits with the vast Mike Williams Taylor had you know the the best receivers to play with a Taylor were? I mean didn't seem. To just him just. He's literally never played at any other receivers like. He plays with other player that he played with Robert Wood slits. Okay Yeah. Twelve Games. He didn't have great receivers. The thing is like the Sammy. Watkins comparison. You know it was interesting, but at the same time isn't tyrod Taylor. Very conservative doesn't turn the ball over doesn't throw that much. The bills ranked thirty first or thirty second in the NFL in passing pass attempts. Of the three years he started. That's that's the thing that I struggle with. Taylor's like you think. Taylor well is the. Somebody's calling runs, so they didn't have a great big retailer didn't have a great defense. They had a good defense. It's not like now. They have one of the best. They had a middle of the pack scoring defense those three years. You're right like the bills. They had the Shawn McCoy. He was basically a workhorse, but. Though it's just in Herbert I mean. You know we don't know if Mike Williams may thrive with Herbert just because of the. You know young guy trying to. Give a big receiver. An opportunity makes them tested catches. It could be opposite, but he's GonNa shied away from that. Those type of throws and he also has an ability to run so i. mean for our Mike. Williams Hunter Henry, you know. The season could be. Dramatically different depending on how many starts each guy makes so, it's so hard to say with all those guys and y you know Taylor ranked higher. I think we all probably love to rank higher with the hope that he's the starter for sixteen games, but it would be I, think at least for me a downgrade for the receiving core. I. In in these two comparisons, even if I think he's right, they're going to be very run. Run dominant, but I could see Harry. Seven touchdowns still You know not not much more than than fifty catches because I do think the targets will be low, but some big play ability to. Okay, yeah. I was surprised when I looked at this NFC. ADP Hunter Henry Ninety Seventh So that's. Pretty low thought. I I'm sorry. That sounds like it's off topic, but I just think Keenan. Alan Keenan Allen fifty-six Hunter Henry, Ninety Seventh Mike Williams, one hundred, twenty fourth, maybe just. People were pretty down on drafting any of those. Even on their ADP's I'm not drafting Keenan Allen anywhere for these reasons, the Jamie just said, and you decide you want. Williams Susan your list. You're not draft Mike Williams is the one charger that I might end up with A. who I love and who I had on a bunch of teams last year. We've talked about him a lot I just concerned about facile I. He's not GonNa Catch Ninety passes again or close to it and is efficiency as to drop a ton, but we can talk about some another day. Mike Williams is the one guy in considering the two couples one his. His eighteen point, two average depth to target was I. Think two point five yards higher than any other player that had at least seventy five targets last year he was a wholly downfield. Chuck it up and Parade Type Player, and he made a lot of place he had over twenty yards perception yet over a thousand yards, even though he only caught forty nine balls. that. Doesn't necessarily need heavy volume to translate the weird thing is he only caught two touchdowns? You just noted he caught ten touchdowns the year before on forty three receptions. We know he can catch some touchdowns and he's so cheap. That's the main point but but you guys are right about the volume tyrod Taylor thing. I also WANNA throw in here is. He, not only a has a very high scramble rate. He has an extremely high sack rate. He tends to hold the ball and try to create plays in both of those elements. Basically quarterback has three outcomes when they dropped back to pass either they run, they get sacked or they throw a pass, and so Taylor winds up with a really low percentage of pass attempts per dropback so like he said yes, some of it is play calling that didn't call a lot past when news with Greg Roman, but some of it also Taylor when He. He dropped back to pass. He's more likely than most any other quarterback to do. One of those other two things either take off and run or get sacked. Then throw a pass He's not more likely to throw a pass, but more likely than other quarterbacks will be, but yeah. Williams is the one guy I think could pair with him as one guy. That's cheap enough that I could have some touchdown. Luck bounce back doesn't need one hundred targets at his massive downfield depth, and I think that Peres well with Taylor's ability to create time. And again the saccharine indicates it, but there's going to be times where he doesn't get brought down. And then who's he gonNA? Look for Downfield. I think some of those big plays could definitely be there for Williams. I think he's just like A. he said he's outside the top fifty zero at like forty five still, but you can draft this guy again other draft last run. Well I. Don't know about that. He's one hundred and twenty third. Not I'm sorry not to be a jerk, but that's you know that's tenth eleventh round. So you do have to make somewhat have been it. It's still late pick, but it's something of an investment. He goes right after Henry Rugs and right before John, Brown and Justin Jefferson had you guys feel about that for Mike Williams. I would rather have brown but. For me, but I see it one more thing with I don't know the rest of the schedule of my head, but got four games against her Davis White and exuding Howard's last Byron Jones, so that's not easy. And they have I think they play the NFC west. Which has Patrick Peterson. Jalen Ramsey I. think they play them. Somebody confirm that let's go to our next guys. For Ben. Ben Sammy Oh. Let's lump. These veterans together Sammy Watkins into Sean Jackson. Basically they're just target guys There's been some talk that Jackson could be the number one receiver for failure. We don't know how healthy he'll be same with Watkins. There are some reasonably that if he's the number if he's there number two receiver for the chiefs, and it wasn't great all last year, but he did end up having a really good playoff run. He's GonNa. GonNa crush value outside the tenth round. It's just a question of whether Michael Hartmann plays for Jackson's the question of how much jalen rigor plays in how much the tight ends are involved, but if these guys are in roles that it looks like they might be able to stay healthy, they're both going to be just massive steals for as long as they're healthy. Dan on Jackson Week one in every bff. Playing the REDSKINS. No his week one so I was looking up the other day so. Twenty sixteen. He went six for one zero to ten targets. Twenty seventeen was bad twenty eighteen. He had. Five for one forty-six into on five targets. And then last year he had the big aiming against Washington Jackson's my favorite guy on bins list. Like the way they're talking in Philadelphia now. This may not be the way that it ends up, but there's some questions about whether Al is GonNa. Be Ready for the start of the season and they said. Specifically talking about Jalen Rieger that we're not going to have enough time on the field to teach him multiple positions so in training camp. He's just going to learn to play behind. Sean Jackson. So I I think Sean Jackson Right now probably is the by a foreign away favourite through the number one wide receiver on the Eagles Week One. Look at the last guy up all over the Andrea with today. jalen Reagan Dave's vacation is not going welfare. Now look at the last five games, not including week seventeen for Nikiel Harry. Arizona chargers rams dolphins bills. Good. Good cornerback there, that's that's the Nice thing is i. If he has to worry about getting shadowed by anyone that means he's done. What he's done for. Nobody's shadowing deal Harry week one probably okay Jamie. You've got five guys as well delicious Burger. start with Hunter Renfro the already gave a Steven Sims as a late round guy that you liked Stephen Simpson. His last four games had two hundred and thirty yards, and four touchdowns took advantage of maclaurin, missing one of those games, but Hunter Renfro, led the team he missed. He missed three games, but the team and targets inside the ten. Twelve point three yards per catch with a sixty nine percent catch rate that was eleventh catcher. It was the eleventh best among wide receivers with at least forty catches, so he had a pretty nice rookie season, and he did most of it was. After the first I don't know six seven games, we did very little So, what do you see for? How would you compare them to say Mike Williams? Well Mike Williams hasn't material feeling I think renfro will catch more passes, but he should not score as much and should definitely not have as many yards. If things go right even for both guys, but I think renfro roles defined You know we'll see what they do. Heats mentioned a lot and and I think it would be great for rugs if they put rugs inside more not necessarily just put him on the outside. Put Zero on the outside and keep Renfro in the slot, but you know for what we've seen from Derek Carr Howie sort of more from a little bit more of a downfield thrower to more of an inside thrower under gruden. RENFRO WE'LL, we'll still be one of the more targeted receivers on this team. Along with Waller and we'll see what rugs but I think if you're just looking for some cheap receptions. He's not a bad guy to take late. Again better in anything PR scoring. But. He does everything you did that Clemson into. You know that's kind of What is Mo is he's got great hands and he finds a way to get open We saw some big playability from last year. You know it was some broken plays that ended up with some no long touchdowns, but It won't be surprised as one or two of those again this year, so I don't problem taking him again more than than non PR, but I'm having ranked in my top sixties, not somebody that I'm like actually targeting outside of you know drafts that go more than sixteen ounce. He's really just more of a deep league target that I think could prove to be better than where he's being selected. Okay then let me ask you about your entire and tell me because I think you know you're the last guy to give the five players you like, so it was the last guy. Well. That's okay. Sorry 'cause. Ben Had thirty on his list, so Jamie had to go a little deeper. How? Many of these guys are more than that? More than just deep league flyers onto renfro Larry Fitzgerald Denzel mims Steven Sims Antonio Gandhi Golden. I think the only guys I have ranked our mims, Sims and Gandhi Golden, but they're all toward the bottom. They're all after fifty for me. So none that I'm like Oh, I have to have these guys but I. do think again if you're talking in this range you know there for me there. They're well beyond Lazard Miller and Chenault in jeopardy those guys. But you know I'm looking at it. From the standpoint of renfro roles should be there. Fitzgerald roles should be there even with Hopkins in Christian Kirk Simpson Gandhi, bolden are going to be on the field at least expect since for sure Gani Golden I. Think will be better than Calvin Harmon. In Men's could be the best outside receiver for the jets, and maybe their their best receiver overall know of crowder Doesn't know sort of dominate targets, but you know they're all in in situations where they should be prominent for their offense. Then who's your favorite? Yeah I mean you kind of do. The deepest lists, the deepest Ben Renfro Fitzgerald, mims Simas Gandhi Golden. WHO's your favorite? Probably since I agree with Jimmy Linden it off with him to He hit on the good points end of the season while. Looked really good late in the year and with Haskins and I think has a very good shot to number two target this year. Heath. I like syms well. I need to get him actually into my ranking because I. Don't think he is right now. And that's my fault, but he'll be in there. and mims is my favorite, though just because I do think that there's an opportunity for him to lead the jets in touchdowns, and he can make some plays downfield. So we should probably mention the rest of the guys that I've aim. That JV wasn't allowed to name. Don't think sure go for it. So. I also had Anthony Miller and lazard who he hit on Paris Campbell. Who I think is really interesting. Josh Reynolds WHO's of really late option could be the third issue for the rams and then. Whatever we feel about this person Antonio Brown. He should be going lottery earlier that he is. He's trying to get back in the potential suspension. We don't know if there will be a suspension for sure. And if he signs somebody, you know, the seahawks Ravens have been linked to him the box of Ben Throughout the off season. 'cause Brady. I mean he's he's. GonNa jump up five to seven rounds in ADP right away I think I think the bucks said No. The! Second time they've said no okay. They said they keep trying to break up with him and he's just not accepting. Just. Browns Goodwin though. Dave actually replied to. The Mail and gave me his five favourite ready for Dave's. The, Sean Jackson Steve Simms for shod Perryman Anthony, Miller and Jalen Raider. Plus Steve Plus Steve Said I. You know what's a takeaway from today's show. Steve. Adam I feel like I mismanaged dynasty team a little bit because. I butchered, the roster limits that we allowed to have. The draft sided trade he. Allen Lazard in Toronto. Taylor to get some draft room. And then the at cut Steve Simms. You'll. You'll appreciate it because we ended up with Justin Jefferson at hymns. Which I wasn't happy about. He's still on the waiver wire right? No Marin burks drafted did oh a draft him, okay? I'M GONNA. Give you the one that you offer got the FIG sleeper for twenty twenty everybody sit down. His name is Paris Campbell. He's not getting. Did you say him you all forgot? This is my big sleeper. Just mentioned five minutes that was in sexy life teen through twenty subsection. B Okay I was surprised that there was someone I had mentioned yet, but. Unfortunately. It was not see I. Think one thing that we can take away from this for people that are listening and we were airing this on Wednesday for people that are drafting in the Scott Fishbowl these are great receivers in the twenty two round draft. Absolutely, great receivers everything one. You guys like Paris Campbell better than Michael Pitman. I do. I like Pitman's upside better because I think score more but like. Paris Campbell is know. He he makes teammate. Touch the ball more, but I just think he's more of a gadget player than he is a upside player I agree with the tipping upside, comment to. Pascal's actually good, and they use him a lot last year, and just because the drafted Pitman I don't necessarily think he won't play. They rotated receivers a lot last year. Right was comfortable rotating, so I actually think we're GONNA. See from these guys as Hilton on one side on the outside and moving around, but mostly on the outside and Pitman and Pascal kind of rotating in your one for Pitman I. Think he's one of those guys that when you look at this depth. Depth chart is most hurt by the no off season. It's GonNa be hard for him to really crack in right away whereas Campbell has been with the team for the whole year, and is more of a slot guy has less competition there, and we know how much Philip Rivers Love Keenan Allen. He could sneak up there and targets, but I agree with with Jimmy's going to be a low aid guy. It'd be a high reception profile, but I think he has more, you know. More appeal and more stable of a role I think. Well I'm going to buy into the sophomore receiver. Thing these guys they just sort of. They do a lot better than they do. In their rookie seasons. It's been happening a lot. I think it's kind of a recent NFL TREND AND Dj Charcoal Portland Sudden Michael Gallup. What do they all have in common? They were sophomores last year. so just keep that in mind. The year before Chris Godwin was number twenty six wide receiver, and fantasy was fifty fifth ADP Kennedy. Golladay was twenty first. He was fifty four hundred eighty. P, so it's been happening. Let's read some emails. Fantasy football CBS DOT com. Joe From Indie, listening to the Scotfish podcast right now, people keep debating what to do with league fees. If the season is canceled I immediately pitched my league. The idea of our twenty five dollar by in all go to our local toy drive if the season is canceled, and everyone immediately bought in that it's better idea. That's a better idea than fighting over most points versus most wins Cetera. I think we can support that one. You know that after we got off the show, Adam, thought that I was giving him five hundred dollars to join the league. That wasn't going to charity. Hey. Did you send me my money and I said No. No, it's not going to this just like a complete lie. I understand why he was confused. Because fantasy cures raises money for toys for tots. Get into fishbowl. I was not aware of that. Has Been Reluctant to do it and so. We started the show yesterday with Scott or Adam saying that. Scott told them that there's a spot available, so I said I would make a five hundred dollars donation to fantasy cares. To get if Adam would agree on the spot to say yes. And of course he did, but he thought that he was going to know. Hey. Where's my hundred bucks? False false. Jamie that I would match one percent of that so toys of my getting. What you're say Jamie. What's your favorite toy that your kids have that you enjoy actually play. My kids have yeah. Oh. Man You, have a buffet, because I'm just going to give you. Some ideas BOP. It is really fun. I mean my kids are at the point. Where the two year old? They love Legos so the two year old has now graduated from Duclos blows the legos. And even though it's not safe, so I don't encourage it. But no, they're into playstation. Video game. Easily the best way. For the kids and then played all time. It's awesome. The kids wake up in the morning and they say that you're playing to K.. NBA Two K. again. Madison exactly. What by coordinator spent as well Matt from Chicago Hey Ken. Christian Gino and mark. Jets quarterbacks jets busts at quarterbacks, yes. Jan.. Ken O'Brien he wasn't A. I was yeah. I. Don't say the bus now. He wasn't wasn't great. He wasn't a first round pick. I just read the packers preview in your NFC north series and can't figure out why everyone is so down on Aaron. Jones I've landed him in the fourth round of to Twelve Team Dynasty Start Leagues I feel like I'm the only one still high on Aaron Jones I understand his touchdowns or not. Sustainable Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah yeah well. Controversy Startup Dynasty though. Not, raise redraft I'm still. I'm fine with that a very talented clerk. The reason we're down on him is because NFC in the month of June he's got an ADP of thirteenth overall. That's crazy. I saw someone said like say that he was a steel like eighteenth draft and it was like how. It's nothing against Aaron Jones I. Think you'll justify Third Ri- I'm fine within the third redraft, but not in the early second the one to turn in the draft. WHO reviewed earlier this week Liz? Low from your sports took Aaron Jones at seventeenth overall. That's redraft league, but. You know if you're if you think he's still going to be double digit touchdowns, which could. That's not a bad spot for. All Right? This is from Lucas from dear Andrew, Tom and toby. Alm Andrew Tom and toby. Those are Bernard Vitamin. Right. Toby, Maguire Andrew the new on. The Lot Angels, the second one Thomas the new one. Okay, all right good job I thought it was the office. Can I take tokens? Spiderman is my least favorite superhero. What And why? I think it's because I've really got into the superhero movies with the avengers and every time he shows up and adventure movies, just kind of to be annoying. He was definitely forced. Instill a war. That was that was the preview the upcoming New News Spiderman. FAVORITE SUPERHERO I. Don't have favorite. No I'm thinking like who is my least favourite all of them. I'd say man. We talked about this robot. Carry I. Never saw the movie though, but it's just like. Adam as or as a superhero. Oh okay well, then go and. Here's the question I. Don't know when to sell some of my bigger stars in Dynasty. I'm a twelve team. I'm a twelve team PBR dynasty league, two running backs two receivers to flex spots. I've got cooper. Hopkins Landry Gallup and cooks shy, keep all five in case of injury or by week or try to go like combined to for them to upgrade into a better younger flex player. I Have Josh. Jacobs and David Montgomery are running back. Always want to trade a year early before a year late. I mean that's that's the way I think of it and I'm okay. Trading guys that are like Hopkins Right now Julio Right now. I'm very okay trading. Those types of guys I weighed refers her. Yes the problem I was gonNA. Say was like the two guys that I'd really consider. Trading are kind of their values dinged right now because of injury concerns I might just wait it out at the start of the year and hope one of those guys gets hot and then try to trade him. WHO COKES AND Energy Right? Yeah! Andries questionable for the start of the year I think still what you could try and do though is maybe package. Julio Landry or or Hopkins and Landry and see if you get you know three or four players in return to Julio in Hopkins. Now. I was just referencing. You speak heathy. Oh! Benny answered the question. Now you ask read another email if you'd like from Alec. What's up dudes this year? By League is going to try and additional point for forty plus yard plays. Does this really move the needle? Are there any particular players to target to take advantage of this? He mentioned tyreek Hill. That's probably be the first player that comes to mind. Forty plus yard plays does move needle I bet been glitch loves this I. Absolutely hate it Urquhart. Okay good, it's A. It's an eight. It's a big thing. You guys well speaking of big plays. How do we go the whole show without referencing the birthday? Whose birthday oh no. It's the favorite player of our show. WHO They browse. Birthday today. Value another. It doesn't like them as much anymore. It's old. You just stick down a little bit. Golf into. Oh I decided while we were talking. Scott fish the other day. I really am very. A any reward for first downs. It's if you're going to do it in addition to catches. I think it's pretty awful. It really puts bigger gap between the elite players and the rest. That's the point. Yeah, no, that's. Watched our twitch on Tuesday night. You're gonNA hear Adamant Scott. I'll tell of course that hasn't happened yet. As we record this, but I'll tell him tonight. I think I. Think Half Point for first down is is awful. I think you shouldn't do it. Everybody out there. He think there's a there's a take that Adam could have. That could get Scott like riled up. Like the nicest person ever. No because like Adams takes or innocently bad, I think there are some takes get Scott, riled up, but it would have to be like mean to someone who has less power than Adam and. You got a little animated without the with that on it. Yeah. Now I would have to be about the Vikings. Unit vendors guy. I did not get into it as much. No, I was more I don't know where I was going through I. I saw I was Gonna say I saw some of the Iran movies early on, but I never really got into all the all the the whole series. Nineteen Suck like Adam. Okay good. I think that I think that Tony. Stark is really annoying. Oh, my I think he's overly sarcastic like they. Just they need to tone it down with him is like. Are the worst. I like the the iron man ones. I liked that movie, but you just a little annoying just like. I Love Them. I saw the first one I liked it, but I saw a little bit of a vendors. He just he just talks too much. Like. I say that by the way. Your take from the avengers is Tony Stark is knowing it reminds you of transformers. The. I really like like what if my guilty pleasure movies is the first transformers? It is a horrible movie. That I will watch every time it's on. It's extremely entertaining. I. Think we're done for. The day was annoying. Silo Buth annoying. Oh, my gosh, beyond it away. Yeah, good call and like you to add them all right so anyway we're done. What's our top five tomorrow? SHAGGY BE! Or a great question, yes, nobody knows. What's the top five for heath, and Jamie and the door talking about your best five players avoiding? Mentor. Name every player to avoid. All right top five players avoiding Friday. We have top-five patriotic movies plus a fantasy football top-five. Doing really doing, let's just do it. Off that show. I'm thinking Independence Day Whoa. July fourth movie. We've already established. Show. Falsely named all right. We'll talk. About Body Thanks so much listening a sealer. This is sally from Wisconsin and this is Rachel at the parallel concert. Perfect. It's GonNa be fun one. In. This is a great when one of the rated gems but we'll get. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yup. So but first thing versus we need to do the. So. Actually got some pretty good exciting news actually. Bonanza. You know life's can start getting back to normal. We can only hope may be that would be nice. But Yeah. So. We got some trailers and some some. Stuff. Coming down the coming down the pipeline. So we got a trailer couple trailers dizzy plus so. We got a trailer for Wanda. Vision. which just looks like a lot of fun. And especially if you are familiar with. A few watch shows on like nick at night and you're you know like classic families like sitcoms. Like there's going to be a lot of Easter eggs and references to like like the whole black and white stuff looks like it's reverend out of like bewitch. Dyke show and there's like the Brady. Bunch. House and Yeah family ties like. It's GonNa be fun. The funniest one that that somebody pointed out and I had to giggle about this this, and this is probably a unintentional. Tie in but it's Elizabeth Olsen playing playing Wanda scarlet witch and you know her older sisters I the. Mary Kate and Ashley the Olsen twins. Though it full House. So I don't know I thought that was interesting. But yeah, the trailer looks great looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Don't have a release date yet. Does this is coming soon. It's like when will then be now sued? and. Then I my mind's popping the little space ball's line. Now? No no no. What the Hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie now you're looking at now. Sir Everything that happens now is happening now what happened then passing? Now where it now now go back then when now now now. Why we missed it went just now. When will then be now soon? There are some thoughts that maybe we might get a more concrete announcement next month because I think there's a shareholder meeting. For Disney. We'll see. But the the. Internet high find seems to think that it's GonNa be December. Yet. Maybe. Now as the man to Lawrence season two is finishing or after it's finished or whatever. So maybe who knows maybe it'll be a nice Christmas present for we'll get one division who knows. is to wait and say. But until then you can watch the trailer and look for all the little both Sitcom Easter eggs and the marvel Easter eggs. There's a lot of stuff in there you know references to mutants and x men and Haussa them and smother plotlines. So this should be very, very interesting. and. Very entertaining. So. As we should expect from anything MC you. Yes and I was just. As watching the trailer and I watched a few videos of people talking about it and You know this year we're supposed to be a bunch of you know Disney plus shows in these marvel shows coming out in like you know it got. Delayed for you. Know you know the reason just it's like watching like this feels like a return to normal I've missed normal. And so I'm looking I'm very much looking forward to it whether it's going to be good or not I mean gotta watch it to find out but. I'm have having something to look forward to it. Feels good. Yes that's Now like the movie, we saw combat feeders like I keep seeing commercials saying, Oh, big movies back but none of the movies are out anything I really want to see. That's not as exciting we have. Like. So's Coming back like mom division should be soon in men Laurean talk about here on the is coming back really soon. In bunch of other like. Like. It's like it's getting back to normal slowly but surely. It was always gonNA be slow but well, guess. What we're still good. It'll be great. Though as. Brittany, alluded to, of course, the day after we recorded. Disney decides to drop a trailer for laureate season. I love you could see the mandal getting ready to. Do the with the whatever the birds or the whistles or whatever. Maybe takes one look. nope. Yes. Basement some upgrades to the baby pram. WanNa. Watch, certainly like he closed up, that's the cutest no pam. Yeah, that one that one's going to be that one's going to be named death it is. Already has been gives the feeling the. Need to. Know. Exactly. It looks it looks great I. Mean You know the first shot of the ship coming through like okay. It looks like looks like they've they've seen a little bit of a little bit of action there. The lights are flickering the bay doors open like okay. They're limping somewhere even looks like one of them almost look Hof. Yeah, it'd be wrong because it's no. Plan of Samuel. And then you know the I are going to be. Going to be a thing and the only had those those rumors of of Soka Tano showing up possibly in this season. Karagounis back. And so does A. Car weathers character. I can't remember his name now I just remember I a cargo cargo. Yes him there think you. Looks It's looks like it's going to be a fun time and I mean, we we knew it was coming out because you know production the filming finished before. We. We knew we had a release date to we had a release. Yeah. So it's just it's good. It's good to see that it's good to see Mando Bac and everything else going on and you know where they. Where were they going to? Really GonNa go where they gonNA. How are they? Are they going to return the baby to where we going? Just. I'm excited Yes said screw spills. Good right. Don't screw it up. You say, I have a basis people who behind it. Yeah. Yeah congratulations goes out to the creators of editorial. 'cause they think they want to six or seven at Emmys. Nickel technical stuff. Yeah. Yeah but it's It's still great I know. It's going to be. So funny watching this trailer. Compared to how we roll anticipating the mantle during the first time in like we were all like who it's like a western like. Time. and. Like we had like no idea even baby auto thing and now like he's an. They could put a squarely in all advertising. Here is this. Here's your source of Norfolk. Is. Had us from the first peekaboo. Exactly. So. It's GonNa. It's GonNa be, fun. and then. Even. Nostalgia Hello Kidding yeah, who has released a trailer with some behind the scenes, really more than anything but still like the nostalgia strong us. Nick peak at the Anna Maniacs. Revival. which I mean yeah there's just there's just some. Behind the scenes rough animation stuff. But what there is I'm like, okay, I think I can get behind this. I mean the they got all the same voice cast with face on the same and that's amazing We've we saw we saw the whole voice cast here it Salt Lake, comic couple of years ago and Ingest Hard L. comes every year holy crap. But I know it's been great to see. Even the animation looks looks great It's I. Mean some some of the animation, the new animation that I've seen from other shows, newer shows like I'm not really into this this style but this is like this. This looks like, yeah, it's the enemy exit fits what what what I remember. You know it's just you know house now like wondering, Okay How's the writing going to be? What are they gonNA do with it. So I'm I'm cautiously excited because I have such fond memories of animated maniacs. Show I'll go watch the old episodes even though you know the things are referencing I mean now I, understand more of their references and I'm going I. Was a kid show holy cow. Y-. Even the stuff I remember getting and loving as a kid I I still get it and I still it now and I'm like, please please please please still have that same smart that same. lightheartedness and just you know I'm I'm looking forward to it. Too I had I had the album. As a kid. The songs on it at Oh my goodness for Berlin. I would just have that thing on repeat. And say all the songs it was not so. States Canada Mexico Panama Haiti Jamaica Peru the public domain Cuba Ribian Greenland does avocado do where Dorigo Lumbia Venezuela Honduras and Guatemala Bolivia then Argentina and Ecuador Chile. Brazil Costa Rica Belize Nicaragua Bermuda must've gone. Paraguay Uruguay. Yeah the I saw the trailer for that and I'm like Oh the nostalgia. Strong My. Day So. Yes. I'm probably, GONNA lose. ADS like the. It the revival premiered on Hulu. So. If you got to do. You know subscription. There you go. Market Calendar. And Odds are I'm probably GONNA lose. It was like the first hello nurse. New. Thinking, in the brain. Gym Tests. The brand going to be there they got Maurice Lamarche in there and. This is this is going to be fun. Is. This this is a staple during my college years where. Some of my girlfriend and I we we don't have class yet. We'll sit and watch this, and then we'll go to class. We need escape. Yes. Sometimes, we do the imitation of pinky and the brain. Times be pinky sometimes I'd be saying. Same thing way too well, I takeover Lauro. Maybe maybe this needs to be a podcast topic in the future. Yes. If I believe are up on Hulu. So yes, they are. I've been I watched the. Episode deal. I'm, GONNA have to track, down the wall with the soda. Right moving onto to coming further in the future I. Believe we mentioned this at one point, but it's been kind of on the. Further in the back as we're all like on division out getting winter soldier, you know in DC. All the marvel stuff that. We know has been filming for Disney plus but the. wheels keep turning for the production of de she hulk. As. And we have our she hoax. animus Lonnie from where from. I make. So excited I with the way of using and I can't wait to see. This. Don't make her angry. Yes. Cranky and for black you don't WanNa make her angry now. Yeah. The Vickers. tween her an actual hulk is well the Hulk Jennifer Jennifer Walters the character Bruce Banner cousin and I don't know if they'll pulled directly from the comics come up with something else. But eventually something happens she has to have a blood transfusion of course family if you'RE GONNA look for war. Matching. Blood types family is going to be your. Best, bet. So she gets a blood transfusion and a half as Bruce's blood which. Gets. Her. The gamma. Radiation poisoning our however, you want to call it but not to the extreme like Bruce before we get smart Hawkin and game So she actually is completely. She still herself when she hawks out. So she's still you know she can. She knows exactly who she is and where she isn't she she could talk in proper sentences she's a lawyer. So I know in the comics like she's been in her she hulk form in court. which that was one of and the often so. I'm seeing panels of that. I've seen I've seen artwork I. I don't know it as well but I do know the. A I know I know the story basically? Yeah. Yeah. So she is now but she's very She's in her she hoped form she's stronger and faster and bigger, and all that and shelters greenall on stuff. So but she's not nearly like the size of the hulk. she's she looks more like a bodybuilder. Like, you don't to see her being one of the bodybuilders in. American live in the. TV show American gladiators remember that. So. But yeah it. It should be fun. And like. The news broke and. I think she has I checked her twitter feed and I didn't see anything. So maybe there's instagram. I. Thought. I'd seen something where she responded to someone else. But I also know Mark Ruffalo tweeted out to her walking welcoming her to the to the fold like family. You know we're going to the phone. So. So yeah, that should A. SHOULD BE INTERESTING SHOULD BE INTERESTING Though, especially, because Jennifer is supposed to be on the younger side so. In theory she should fit in. Well with like Captain Marvel and probably ant man and. some of those so. That is coming down the pipeline at some point. which I mean, the production wheels are turning even the slowly. That her nothing. And then for the. For back home, this was first announced. They were like, Oh, I hope we get it in the US eventually. We can now A. Stop. Bemoaning the fact that we could not watch staged because only do. Bought the the streaming rights to it we don't know when. But. It will be it will be gone to to Hulu and The I I saw. I saw. George Attendance instagram she knows something about it and even now I have the same headline looking at me and I'm still reading it the same way I just read the I. Admit this us who buys Michael Shannon, David tennant's. They're. Like Oh really. Like like no, it's. BUYS. Bike Shannon Davidson dot. com stage for your strong, just leave the Bit David tennant. Just Hulu Buys Michael. She did Davidson like sure why not? Disney owns everybody else? Technically they already David. The embassy you? So it was only time before Michael got bought by Disney. And some are. House mouse guys. We own your soul yeah. Every oh, staged up on who already Oh is is yes it is. I know what I'm know. Tonight also finish. Finish listening to the podcast and then you can go watch watch David and Michael. Being David and Michael Yeah. Essentially. I check. Yeah I've seen clips with them with like Samuel. Jackson. At one point like puts them under place and that's it's hilarious. So it's it's. It's yeah. It essentially playing like sensationalized fictionalized versions of themselves just faint utterly ridiculous and I'm totally down for it. So alternate universe. Goals I'm totally totally down for is. A different version of. mcallen. I would watch those two with EMA killing in touch still together in. Yes them together. Yeah. George attended. Idea for you. Can you. Make that happen now. Fair want to remake the was that he was a miniseries vicious. Remember that with a Ian mckellen. And I think he's sort Derek. Jacobi actually. Yeah. Everyone a remake that there's unites right there. Ideas. Yes. But anyway yeah. Who Lewis Bought Michael Shannon David tennant essentially. That's all you really. I even commented that on Georgia's post and other business saw they're like, yeah, I caught the big of. The owns everybody else. Oh. So I yeah. They've. got. Children's college funds it needed to be paid for especially the attendant household. Fi Eight. Five. Five. I think. So yeah five one point Georgia. Said posted something and was like. Like with someone like A. Fussy baby or a technology attack technologically PHOBIC Scottish. A Scottish. I have one too many bodies in this house I need to lose a child or lose the husband. Pretty most people would take her up on David Yup. Yup. Michael on the other hand has his he's only got two kids in one of them's completely grown. So yeah. Slightly less crowded in the Sheen household. As far as we know. Unless he's still got David trapped in the closet that case Georgia doesn't problem. You. You need to be following Georgia and Michael on social media because David doesn't use this, which is probably for the best for him. Yes. Georgia. Out All the goods can all the good star just hilarious and so as Michael and the fact that they're like really good friends the two families and of have wicked senses. So. It is all good in the US. All right. So that is it four Z new and I forgot to copy and paste lanes. Feedbacks hold on. Let me open up. just a short one from Chalene She asked if we knew that there is an animated version of the king and I. Came out in the nineties I think I remember reading about that I. I never saw it. Yeah. I have seen it because What's his name? Place Jericho Malfoy Tom Felton it was like he's in it was like one of his very first big movie roles and you know when he was announced to be Drako in Harry Potter is like Ooh like I went around and found all these movies that all the the the the actors that were announced were had been like I wonder who? Want to see him see how they are. So I watched that. Oh no wait. Hold on. I'm confusing it's not the animated one anyway. Yes. There were two that came out right around the same time. There was a live action that's the one Tom Felton is in. Then there's there's the animated one, which is a little. I don't know what it is. It's not quite right. I. Remember. It was a little. Weird. It wasn't it. Didn't. Yeah sh well, an, there's an animated movie. that. Came out in nineteen ninety nine. Yeah. That is an adaptation of the. Rodgers and Hammerstein. Yeah. But they're all recognize really any of the names other than Miranda Richardson so. Yeah. So it's yeah but there was another one was Anna in the king. What's his bucket was anyway but yeah. So it it was. It was weird thing where you know there's two movies from two different. Companies comes up the they're basically the same thing that come out but this one is actually. They it was it the same source material? And you it was. It was weird. Yeah there's there's been a lot of different adaptations just of that book that yeah, usually based off of so. 'cause like you said when we were talking about it, they wanted. Rogers and Hammerstein wanted rex Harrison to play the king because he played in a non musical. Movie. A few years before, but he was available and that's how we ended up with. Yul, Brenner. So. I think we're all better for. Yes You never know how these things are going to work out until they work out. So. But Yeah I A. Vaguely remember reading about the animated. Series, but I've never seen it so. It was I imagine that I. Probably would be disappointed so. Yeah it was. It's like. I did see that one too. It was. It was a musical and but it didn't quite work with the musical format. There's just something off about it. Yeah. I remember because I remember watching him like some drawing hair. Maybe if I watched it again, I'd be like, oh. This is what's wrong. This is what's wrong. Bid At the time I was you know like I don't know yeah? Like look. Like just now which I like and what you don't like. Yeah. Pretty much like I. Don't like this. I'm going to go do something else you Look but I'm not positive seen it. Anyway. Old School Retro Movie Review I guess So, and this one also happens to be it also happens to be an anniversary year. so We got that going for us but A goofy movie. At, least April nineteen. Ninety five. So. It is it's feature barely feature length movie. and. All the musical bits it would be like an hour long. I. Rushed it. Yeah. I watched it like before bed the other night because. We knew we were doing this I need to rewatch it, and so the kids were finally in bed. So cute it up and just sat here on my IPAD and watched it and I'm like I forgot how much I love this movie say you know what Ed? I didn't know this was the first time ever seen it. Until live this weekend. The Marcus I had never seen before like I've seen people reference it like I've seen people like a conventions and stuff like 'cause playing like Roxanne goofy and Max and power line, and like I've seen people like shirts with like you know it looks like a concert t shirt but it's the power line concert. Like I. Knew it was a thing. Yeah but I'd never seen it. This is funny. Everything I get everything is in context now yes. This is. More sense now. I did not see this movie in the theaters. I did not know it existed until I went to a friend's house and they had it on vhs so and then like looking into the history of this movie and like why you know who was involved in and everything around it it's like I think the marketing might have just screwed it over yet. been the. And they kind of did that on purpose. But yeah well, the the behind the scenes on this and we'll get into this right 'cause. The premise of this is pretty straightforward. Goofy has his son. Max and it's summer vacation from Action School and goofy decides to take his son on a road trip to go fishing meanwhile Max is a broody teenager in high school and just wants to hang out with his friends and cry you know goal God's this cursory. Dog All, this girl he likes, and of course, his father being goofy. Literally, and figuratively, anything is really. He's like I. Just WanNa be the cool kid in school and meanwhile might add is just like blowing things up and. Losing his shoes and doing the you know the goofy. Attempt to do the void the noise yet. We'll farmer yoke. Yeah. I'll leave that farmer. Who? So it's like your your typical like teenager with. Parents. which you know who fi goofy as the embarrassing parrot. I mean. You know you're backing up a little bit. Yeah. This is. Max Comes, from goof troop the TV show the afternoon Goofy says dad and so it's like you know it is. It's a spin off of that basically but now Max's older. So He's played by you know his voice is different. than. In the show. But it's like you know you want to do a TV show or a movie or TV show about a teenager with an embarrassing parrot or you know variously dad look no further. Here you go I mean. If you're if you're if Goofy was your dad yes, it would. It. would be so embarrassing really embarrassing moments. However you know going looking back on, you know goof troop even because I remember watching that show. As a kid. And they're it's like how much heart and and just just love and kindness goof. They gave us the dad my easy. He's not screw up. I hear you know you hear a lot of people talk about how you know. Are In entertainment there's just not a lot of good examples of good dad's like they're all just you know not present or they're they're they're screw up in some other way not a dad you would want and goofy honestly he's kind of a good dad. Show. He's just quirky he's goofy and. But he's really tries to do to do right by his son. And so like you know using that premise and making this movie about it, it's like. It almost there, there's there's a certain amount of genius behind it when you think about it. Kids can relate to it. Parents can even really to especially if you're a fan of goofy which me and my dad, this is this is an odd thing but we both love Goofy goofy is one of our favorite both of our favorites. Disney characters like when I was a kid, we had a bunch of goofy cartoons on VHS and I would insist on watching them before bed and there's many pictures of me falling asleep in the big chair in the living room because I fell asleep watching goofy cartoons. For go into bed and. So. You know it's it's something that. It's simple and it in it's in it's in in the idea but the execution is it's Jesus I love it. Is kind of. That's kind of my my simple short review of Goof of a goofy movie and a little bit of goof troop as well. And why? Why I love this movie so much? And also the music's amazing. Yeah because I, mean, it's You get. A lot of some of the trappings that you'd expect from. Like the Disney princess type movies or the Lion King or stuff like, yeah. Your musical, your your big budgets and a movie. Yeah and. Know. Some of them are that people just burst into song I mean there's this whole. Musical. SEQUENCE WHEN I go start out on the road and that's all. On. The road For. Even the opening. Yeah. How the kids counting down until it's summer vacation. Yeah. Yeah. But then you've got this kind of. Secondary Plot with power line. Who is this kind of Prince Michael Jackson ask type? Performer that all the kids are into you know is the hot thing at the time and you know Goofy Dad doesn't get his sons taste in music at all As any. and. So you've got this character powerline who his music is embedded in the whole finale takes place at the parallels concert. So you've got the music there that actually. Yeah makes sense of people dispersing into song like the new musicals. So. which is yeah. The powerline songs. Are just catchy is all get out so I. Heard these before. I know when you when you said, you hadn't seen the movie, but you don't know to don't know stand out on the open road of Mike on Racial. This problem right now. Fix How Did. Yes. Yeah. I mean. Like we had this we we got the video eventually and we will I wore that that video out and we. Just, watching the movie, but we would like rewind the. The the musical, the musical bar parts at just so he could sing along to them over and over again we should. Have done. But we never did. But I just I just always remember. Even like trying to choreograph my own Dansk routine to or you do the dance routine that they do at the concert or Max does, the the the the Polls I guess it's not a senior pranks doesn't seem like he's a senior but pulls the prank at the at the school assembly as as powerline. NC Standout. Like I I WANNA do this I want to get in front of all the kids at school and dance and play a trick on the on the principal. I never got the guts to do that. Don't how in the first place but like dude, if Max can do it. I remember like I remember not one to the new WAY TO OF INSULIN WHO's Like I know creative people. Love my friends could. But no one did sad. Looks like it's too hard to do. was in marching band and theater like I put myself in. Essentially. Attention the group. L LARGER GROUP IN IN IN HIGH SCHOOL I don't need to be singling myself out thing much. Given us so low something. Her but Yeah. Considering how Maxon seems very much like the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree where he's at least when he's the. The the the song about it being the last date before summer vacation where he's been clumsy. Get ready for school and. Trumping, all things running into things and his friends are. They seem to be kind of nerdy and a bit goofy to the happens you have to be best friends with. P J. Fees, Voss. Not Bite Charlie sure what the dynamic is there and how they were both able to take a long vacation at the same time right when they work on the place, right? Yeah. It's you just Kinda roll with it. Yeah. And then And then You know the. The school is very much like. As, soon, as they get to the school and they have like the the last day school. Yeah. Assembly I guess or whatever it's very much like the. The stereotypes that you would expect to especially in the nineties Omlund jocks and You've got your Goff's and you've got your nerds who are literally wearing star trek the original series This is which at the time you're like where the heck did they get those? I mean I'm sure they were available just not. Very easily. Rate is typical. With the braces and the pimple faced a, you know acne all over their faces and stuff, and then you got like your Av Nerds, which I think is what we're accident his friends gotTa Fall into because PJ has the fancy video camera that he he's taken from his dad that his dad doesn't always taken will totally feed him to pulp apparently if he finds out. Your other friends scared hobby. handles the rest of the equipment in payment with Geez whiz apparently now is now was body plead by Paulie shore. was. On credited. Case, because I was looking at the credits and I'm just like he's in there. Did. It to be on credited because he was afraid that Disney would do to him what they did to Robin Williams I. I don't think we're really looking back would have been concerned but I, know at at the time at the time, it was kind of a big deal. So I can understand why in the in the moment why? Why he would Out that. There was a bit of a controversy, but that's for another. Topic and other. Yeah. Sure. We discussed a little bit. If anybody's curious we did discuss a little bit about how Disney. Played Robin Williams with successive Aladdin in our Latin episodes email listened to that. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah. That was Paulie shore and you know honestly the whole. Especially, the the scenes at the high school it just is very, it's screens nineties. Whether or not? Like your school was really like that which you know mine arguably or it's debatable but you know you watch watch any sort of teen movie in the nineties and all those tropes are there But the funny thing is it doesn't really feel trophy. It's it feels like you know this is a movie made in the ninety then unintentional. Time capsule almost. which you know you look at it and you're like, yeah, I, remember I remember some of that I. Remember this I remember you know. He's he walks by he walks by. Not, even really a record store, but you know an Fye y. e. sort of Sam, goody it in the opening number 'cause there he now ruxton walks by and he sees and we waves to her and he was looking at the at the power line display at the store singing about how you know he's going to impress her and. And all of this. So it's like the kids back in the day we'd hurt we just to get our music on physical media. Like directly download it to are you actually had to go to the store to pick up at came? Round things called CD's and they only has. Four or cassette tapes were thing. You know and and you could. You know you had to if they didn't have the one you wanted than you were just Kinda Outta luck. Can wait to the radio and beyond the plaza and record that in real hope. He doesn't speak over at the beginning. Or cut off the end. Yeah. That, one two or you know we've been worse add. More than two years. Yes. So Our. H. My Gosh I can't make. I know but. Yes so This this whole the most of the movies like it's all, it's very nineties, but it's not nineties in. Be May maybe maybe it is but I don't feel like it's. Dated Way it's like, okay. Yeah. You can kind of get this and maybe it's because the music really helps it along and. Music doesn't seem dated like, no like the like the the the songs. On the open road and then the song that Goofy Max saying is the floating down the river on top of their Har-. Is it's kind of like the is is Kinda country asked what you would just kind of expect from goofy because he has kind of that country bumpkin. Yeah now. No it just sounds goofy is at, it's not dated and actually the power line staff actually still sounds modern. So Yeah There are times drive me, shall we say bananas? Minus missing no offense screw on taken still whatever I land in was always understanding nobody else but you. Own Your Moody Nece is now on. Bewildering. Values might be so to speak a skews tight banks. Deserves a he rose trophy as we face each. Strove E. Mails. You and for for a movie for a Disney movie that wasn't a musical wasn't like little mermaid or feeding the beast or something. Is Musical has. The songs are pop music. It actually you're right. They sound they sound modern. They sound timeless like you could still listen. I feel like I mean granted I haven't listened to the radio in forever but I feel like me to you could you could turn turn on the radio or look up. Any popular you know pop singer these days on Youtube, look a music video and you could hear that same kind of sound. So like easily. not that you really really want to because the guy that. Voice you know does the singing voice for for power line is like he's really good and he still sounds that way actually they did a, they did a in Tam. Candy. Yeah they did. A twentieth anniversary Reunion Panel d twenty, three expo. So five years ago and seven showed up and he saying I do I and he said L. sounds exactly. This was seventeen when he did yeah moisture power line and here it is that was twenty years after. Twenty five years like he's still sounds the same. Mom. But like you can easily take. Like just timberlake and have him sing the song and put it on the radio on people. But like this is awesome. You so That I listened to modern music for the heart but. Every once in a while I'll be like, oh, I hear you I hear the song at the store or something or someone's playing it and I'm like I want you know I go look it up on Youtube but. It's just I. Don't know I just I. This movie is just there's music there's the the story behind it. It it's a simple story. Okay, tiny toons did this same kind of thing they did summer vacation they go on a road trip They they do that. But this one and I love the tiny toons the how I spent my summer vacation don't get me wrong but for some reason i. mean that was more jokey in in comedy. Yeah. This one is I mean I think I kind of talked about this when we did Pocahontas sizes like dwelling on a lion king a little bit and you know and re watching it. I'm like this one it it's at same kind of thing it's like it's it's your family. It's something you can relate to like you know parents and maybe you again now I have kids and so I think about these. Parents you look at them. Goofy gets that phone call from the principal who's livid because because. Honest. On Sean Yeah Ever, ever. Wallace Shawn's like I animated movie is he did this before toy story. So this is more he became the voice of Rex. But. The principle is livid and you know you think about it. You're like, okay you really have no reason to be that mad I mean yes you you need to be mad but you know the Seems to be a bit of a psychopathic here's like torture devices in his principal in. Your job to the electric chair electric chair at any hangs and goofy has no context for what's happened He. What what his son is done you're. maxed doesn't even get a chance to explain his side of the story I mean yeah. Yes Mr Goo. This is principle Mazer I'm calling in regard to your son Maximilian lacks. Oh my gosh is he hurt no Mr Gov he's in. Trouble with climate trouble dressed like a gang member gang members or Sun caused the entire student body kept break into a riotous francine. Couldn't be more. Mr Gould I seriously reevaluate the way you're raising her child before he ends up in the electric chair. We went through. Two. At. Most. It was a stupid prank that nothing what it that's basically what amounts to. So upset and so and so goofy thinks Max is going to end up in jail on death row. Which? He enemy number one I know poor goofy having you think about he's a single dad he's trying his son. The best he can at he's like he's you know he's been talking peed in Pete's like. My. Son Loves ME SON IS GONNA. Go Fish and we're GONNA go camping when we have a good relationship and Gouveia Kinda realizes, oh I, guess my relationship isn't that great with my son or not as good as what Pete's making his out to be funny gets a phone call from the principal saying that you know he's he's he's joined some gang and he's Gonna You know poor goofy. You just feel bad for the guy that. We're GONNA go fishing and Max gets no chance no opportunity to to explain himself. No chance to say, Hey, I've got a date with this girl Can we know maybe postponed this vacation for? A week or so or none of that I just kept thinking as I was growing up why didn't Max ever? Mack Say Dad I've got this thing I wanted. So he tried to but he never got. erupted well it it it. It's like. I don't know maybe. As a parent I'm Kinda like okay maybe I understand I mean it's goofy. It's a little bit this movie's a little over the top with a lot on top with it. But it's like I stop let Max talk, but they never do well and he. Goofy, doesn't ask either like there's so I'm swear there are shots where they're like they're in the car. He's driving in Max's in the passenger seat and You can just tell but. Obviously. Upset and dejected and like he's having some feelings. Reach through the screen and smack goofy up the head like talk to your son. Like you tell your Tana's miserable. Ask Him. What's wrong and why not? And goofy just assumes he's not interested in going on the trip because. You know he wants to go get in trouble because he's going to jail maybe do fee doesn't want to eat doesn't doesn't want to face the fact that is kid might be might be. A problem and he's too afraid to ask all these questions. It would maybe lead to answers he doesn't want. But at the same time would lead to answers that wouldn't help their relationship effective later in does because when if finally blew up and the car goes running down the road which you know secretively literally this the heart has to be has to. Be, in the middle of big comedy moment but. Stars. and. They finally talk and there's at Wonderful Song That that they sing which I love which I know is not everyone's favorite but I think it's great. Yeah. said it's like Oh, you finally found out what the problem was Max had a date that he didn't want to Miss Right. To thought somewhere the car drive hey a phone call from your principle. What was the? What's the deal with this? Yeah, it's like. His ask ask for his side of the story like what did you do it? Yeah. Maybe maybe there's a little bit of discipline that that would be warranted because you know you've right. The assembly and through the principal down the trap door. Right. Jaw Hit. Worn out of their mind I know. And maybe goofy would have been like. You Know Oh. You know we mean Mickey and Donald. We got up to some some Wacky hijinks back in our day. You know. Bonding moments over yes. But then again, we wouldn't have had a movie. So yeah or or you wouldn't believe what principal. Wallace. Did when he was. In High School Me Those. But you know it's a, it's a classic misunderstandings. Gaffe and you know that. Doesn't matter what generation you're talking about. There's always going to be that somewhere. Along those lines. Ito teenagers trying to relate to their parents and this one is exacerbated because the parent is goofy. Just be classic fight between the two of them on the car right of what they're gonNA listen to. Yes because gas that that that illustrates perfectly. Communes into his his. His hard rock and Goofy is like. And it's not even that it's like this is a song that he and his dad listen to. On their, trip I hope. That's No No. So. There's also that sense of gooky feels like he's failed because because he hasn't got a chance to do things with Max he did with his dad and so any other and even Max Kinda realizes that later on it's like you know you know you you to did a lot together. It. Goofy. goofy trick with the with the with the soup can. And Max is impressed by it. He's generally impressed by what's happening in. And even then they're like, they almost start talking having their conversation in this doesn't go anywhere. Doesn't. Foot big disc going in the background. Teller like wait a second. No this this movie, it's it's it's got a lot. It tackles. You think about it it tackles a lot of serious topics but then you know fix foot is in the background this. Or you know they just came from, they just came from the possum jamboree. Holy Disney can rip off. Things and s the country bear. Jamboree. Plastic it is old, but it is a classic and they yeah, it's one of those that they should never take away because it is just a classic but then to do like this whole possum jamboree version like the animatronic or like springs or like popping loose and their short-circuiting and the guys just like whacking it with a hammered Gimme. And you know you have Pat Buttram. Guy Is the voice of you know, the sheriff of Nottingham and. A. Whole. He sent so many others but as is actually this was actually passed last movie. Yeah. He passed away actually before the movie was released but he he managed to do all of this recording and stuff before. You have that that that Disney staple in there it's. If if you look at the cast list, there are some definitely some. staple voices are just part of the Disney. Yeah. You hear them and anything in everything animated like even if they're not A specific character like Pat Carroll who was the voice versa la she's in there, but she's just concerned as a national voice. Yeah. I think she's she was you know in in the open road song she? The lady that. The big, the Big Laney and small husband. To, week REX rescue station that she goes. Yeah I think that's her. Yeah. Yeah. You've got Bill Farmer, of course who's been the voice the for like. I don't know how long. So Frank Welker. Who has you know does a lot of like the new schedule and stuff now. Jim Cummings. COURSE JIM coming. Is Winnie, the Pooh among other things? he's been. He's been pete forever to Yeah Yeah. Yeah so I think he's still even does it for like the Mickey Mouse clubhouse show on Disney Junior? Yeah. Yeah? And then you've got at least the speaking voice of Max. if he thought, he sounded vaguely familiar. That's because Jason Marsden also known as Thaddeus banks from Oak Focus Yep. Jason Marsden speaking of nineties movie he was he was everywhere in the nineties. So yeah, you Kinda. But he's he's kind of it will depending on what age they play Max in in future things. Sometimes, it's Jason Marsden sometimes it's Dana Hill today or Dana. I don't remember. Dana. Was the voice before yeah he yeah. That data is the younger version of mass yeah. When we want in goof troop the. Money's more like middle school as it were whereas his voice hasn't quite cracked yet. Yeah. Yeah, and then they brought in. Guy Named Aaron Lohr to be the. Singing voice for Max for most of the singing but actually the I believe the song. When they're floating on the car is actually Jason. That he actually sings in that one. So because he actually he can't sing he's a trained singer but yeah. But they wanted a more like. I guess theatrical sounding for a singing voice. And we do get cameos of donal the. and. Where do you want me to start with the Easter eggs in? This. CAST. Out You'RE GONNA like like listen to this and then go back and watch the movie. You can spot the Easter eggs because he had the mickey telephone in the beginning. Yes. Maki of course, you know as Mickey head cheese, he's got like the most Easter eggs Makes a physical appearance with with Donald Hitchhiking during the on the open. Road. Watching back. Telephone where he's only yellow stay in America the yellow telephone in his hands. I used to have one of those. We used to own one of those. So. Also during the on the open road. sequence. There is a van at one point in some balloons. Come out of it as the doors open and one of them is Mickey Making Shave check his head He also makes less obvious physical appearances in the auditorium in the school auditorium as a Max is like flying on the road here's the bottom left corner. and then he also peers in the lower left portion of the crowd at the power line concert. The soon. Mickey's peddling fan and you. Yeah Yeah. He also appears the concert at the beginning the Little Mermaid too. So yeah, he's just a flat fan of life. Yeah. I for some in some in film Easter eggs. If you watch the on the open road sequence, you know everybody's traveling and then you get to the power line concert you see the nuns uc make you said, you see the the people the Big Lady Lady there's there's a lot of people who are who were on the road with goofy and Max who show up at the concert later. And actually the nuns kind of their sort of the the hot. There in the diner. Rally The the the power of the map. my Ex. Think we need to talk about this at. The me you need to start taking some responsibility around here. Excuse me. Can I have your attention? Please GOOFY AIR DUB my son Maximilian official navigator head which waiter of this here road trip. I'm not even looking at the map anymore. As. A matter of fact, you can pick all stops from here lake destiny. Trust you wholeheartedly son. To the open road. The net announcer there. Yeah. They pop up quite a bit. They're supposed to be a play on the nuns and Sister Act. Also Remind you like Whoopie Goldberg and Kathy Jimmy so Alan Keenan forever. Yeah. Outside of that, it's just funny that nuns or following. Mickey's faces also on the back of the high chair of the baby that Max and putting the fork and the light socket in the Bauer in the outlet. As he's On his way home from school. Yup. Goofy keys, car keys. He has a key chain has the Classic de the Disney Fun logo on it There is at the maximum performance at the school assembly. After the principal stops him, there is a wooden cutout of aerial sitting on top of a skull. and then during the song after today with Chris Jimenez, he stops by like the like the record store for of a better term there's a copy of the Aladdin Soundtrack in the window it has the genie's lamp on the cover. there. Are stuffed animal versions of Bambi and Adult Simba goofy work taken the little kids pictures. The crocodile from Peter Pan Appears backstage during the powerline concerts. the giraffes from Dumbo are. Somewhere in the in the traffic during on the open road. This one is really subtle during the. when we see those two nerds, the start, the wearing the star trek shirts at one point they they are looking through a looking at a magazine called Weird Planet. Yes. That isn't that based on an old. Comic. Book from the fifty. Or something like, Forbidden Planet or something like that But. On the on the back of the magazine is an ad for see people as opposed to sea monkeys and then there's also an ad for free twenty dollars you have to send in the mail and request card itself addressed to duck sales cq money been Dr Duck Burr USA. You hit up a new one but Sadler Yep. Sales Oh my gosh. Dizzy Easter eggs, and there's also other Easter eggs. On the open road like one of the is like the different. People vehicles are singing like at one point they drive by a limo and hand to hand sparkling gloved hands to. Thumbs outs like Hello Michael Jackson the drug. And Movements up and start singing which that reminds me of the there's a one of the vignettes in the haunted mansion you drive by or in your ride vehicle you go by a guy in a a coffin and he's trying to open up. He's like let me out of here or some of the atom. Sure. That's probably nod that. There's the the lady with I think she's got much cats in her car where she's like the road is my now is not. Yeah. Dina yet. dirtbags eat my dust. You know that Song So. Watch out granny's on the road. Yes. Yes. powerline Ostrom rip off of Davao. Or. I was thinking Mc Hammer with the pants and that little. Tube I mean that yellow like radio. Well and the hair, the hair. Yeah. So There is. The if you know your F- You know your your your tourist. Spots in the in the United, states when they are once he gives Max like control over they stop and all that, and some of the places are obviously more fun for Max and others like riding the roller coaster and. then. They stop with like the giant ball of yarn and Garcia. They go and take the Selfie in the bat cave and. Wakes up although bats. That's Carl's but caverns. Play on the Carlsbad Caverns, which is in southern New Mexico. Brittany may now. I've. Never, no chance to go. But yeah I know of just you look at the map and and their route and it's like, okay, this is only only a goofy. Goofy. Could. Happen don't go this way had in comeback. Well, in according to the map we now know are goofy lives. It's near, Columbus? Ohio. which would make sense 'cause when I first saw this and I'm like you're going all the 'cause Roxanne says, you're going clear across the country just to see a concert like wait. It's in La and I you know I always figured. Disney characters in my head all they live they live in California because that's Disneyland because that's always been my association with it I'm like, Oh, I guess they actually live on the east coast, but I wasn't Florida. So. But you know it's kind of generic Midwest and Ohio I guess that works But. You know he's got to go somewhere to ski badly. Yes. Yeah so I mean you there's there's all kinds of. Kinds of things that. Are. In the head I always like when I saw the map and he folds out and Max finally gets to look at it and when he changes the map and follows the route and it's all over the place and then there's the big La so it's like It's like, okay. Goofy. Probably would have figured out somewhere that. that. They were not going to lake destiny they were. Driving down the highway and get to the point where they have to choose right or left the signs literally say Allah -Fornia Idaho. Goofy goofy is so determined like okay. Max Year you're the navigator by this time, he's discovered maxes mixes flyover flying to But goofy still gives them that chance to be like, okay. I, made a mistake. So I'm GonNa you know but we're still going to go. We're going to do it. My Dad wants and you know that he doesn't, and that leads one thing to another. But I always just thought it was funny. Okay. The route it goes all over the country and there's you know even like like look de loops in the thing but then all of a sudden it's GONNA go straight to La at. Max You did not think this through. Strategy. He didn't have enough time to think it through. But. Yeah. Even as a kid I was like Oh this isn't gonNA work. Already know that, but it's okay let's well AMC Pacers. You're also not supposed to float down rivers too. So yeah well, they are they are they even supposed to run anymore I don't think. That's the fact that they got that thing home at all. Yeah. Yes. Apparently Kevin Lima the Guy who directed at. Went to elementary school. He went to a kid was around the corner from an AMC dealer car dealerships out. So. That's that's the kind of car. So it's Yeah. This is this movie you know I. It's Kinda like the emperor's new groove where. Like It did okay when it was released but it's after the fact that this developed like this cult following men, he are like now this this on like just at first glance or like this can't be any any good but it's like, no, it actually is really good like it has a good story got heart to at the music is catchy. It's like. This is actually A. Decent movie Lie Christy was saying at the beginning, it wasn't really promoted that well, and part of that had to do with the fact that this was. Disney considered it a contractual obligation to complete as Katzenberg left while got fire. Because this is this was at the same time that Disney and Jeffrey Katzenberg were having There is there restraints on the relationship and. Because this was tied. A lot of people consider this tied to him, and because of everything that went down, we really need to cover that if we're going to keep covering movies from this era. For that, we keep mentioning it context. Yeah. So yeah. So Disney didn't do like their usual like heavy promotion like br they teamed up with Burger King McDonalds, Burger King, because they did team up a burger king there for a short while and Burger King had toys for the kids meals for a short time. But other than that they did not really promote it which if which. If it cut. It may have gotten better promotion. If. It had come out. One of was originally supposed to bat. You know back when Katzenberg was still firmly in his knee bubble because this was actually supposed to be released like holiday season of ninety four. Wow. They ended up having some production issues because what the way they would do animation like this. A big chunk of the time is now the animators they would have to hand draw every single cell and they would be filmed in. You know they would. You'd have to film each cell and then when you write them together, it looks like it's moving US Base Academy right there but the equipment that they were using. was funny as they were actually actually did most of the production for this in. France at the studio in Paris There's Pseudo explanation for that in a in a little behind the scenes thing, I'll put the notes, Nico Macho, but the decided to produce. The production in Paris but the camera. They were using to film all the the cells animation sells Had A. Like A. Something wrong with it. So had it had like a dead spot. Three quarters of what they did had a black dot in it. Film all of that which which takes time. So it got pushed to summer of ninety five instead of holiday and they ended up releasing the Lion King. The. Lion. King. Come out the summer before now. So. Yeah. All all down to a to a faulty camera and Yeah Franklin Bad Pixel. Yeah. So which is really sad because you think about it I mean, this is goofy. He's one of these one one of the big the big. The Big Five, million, six, they include easy now. Over at Disney their original classic characters and you would think. The Disney afternoon TV shows they they got they got promoted very very well, and they were very well received and people loved them. I loved them growing up. and to make to make. This is a feature length movie with goofy he they're they're they're doing this with with one of their classic characters. You would think that they would promote the heck out of it and say, look at this. This is you know you love goofy. Goofy. You know you. We Love goof troop and all these things. He's getting his own feature feature-length bill? They should've just proud of the heck out of it and it had it. It would have been a success but due to this feud with Katzenberg they were dislike. Well, it's you know one of our little black sheep I guess. So they could have put it out there and like, both there it is. But then you know as with a lot of these movies, VHS is a thing and parents want to entertain their children. So they can get things taken care of, and that have their kids screaming at him all the time, I I don't know what my parents did. and so you know we we watch all these movies over and over and over and over and over and. They stick with you and and there's a reason we like them and you know thank thank goodness for for videotape home-video because I don't know this movie would have been as well received as as as it has been over the years and it's it's this I mean D- twenty-three did this whole big twenty, th anniversary expo or your panel at the at the Expo it was the number one panel at the that year like they had the. Air From a when they showed up because the room was full. Yeah like Disneyland. Like the last couple of years obviously before. Everything fact that they could function like normal during the during choice. Nights during the last couple of years they would have after hours events. So it was a separate ticketed event, but they would be heavily themed and one of them they did was nineties themed and they had like. Max A goofy and power line who you don't see as a character normally in the Disney like everything was like nineties themed. Concert, like come to life. So it's like now Disney realizing. The potential. For some of these things that maybe didn't do so well and they originally RECYC-. Make thirty, five, million dollars when it was released, which in nineties money it's. Good amount for Disney. That's not. A lot of money you think at Disney animated movie and you think you know in the nineties I think Oh you know those those big blockbuster ones in this one was just kind of a little. Third is yeah. But it you know it. It clicked with people and it still does for various reasons and ads. It's just one of those those those hidden gem. Yeah. But yeah now everybody talks about and loves it at the time. It was just kind of like. Of course like, Disney. Channel and Disney channel offshoots, they played a lot. On their channel so that that probably contributed to it as well. You know you talk to anybody that seen this movie and they're like Oh Yeah I. Love that movie and and you know all about our age. Yeah that isn't that is true. In fact, now that you say that I'm like whom I wonder if I could show this to my nieces and nephews see what they think of. I mean, there might be some confusion on a few things but. That's like. Well, you know if it's goofy so. But. Yeah there are a couple little trivia bits. Go over that Rachel that I found out here on TV tropes. One thing that I just like Oh. My Gosh I'm glad Katzenberg did not get his way on that one. Was He wanted bill farmer to to to do goofy lines just not not in the Goofy, voice ooh. Just normal human being and it I. Guess it sounded awful. So bill farmer had to record all the lines. As goofy which I'm like, thank you for that yeah I can't. Lake Pinto the or. Hear it like like. Okay. About Donald Goofy like how how does not compute well. Well, I'll use this example. So in the new duck tales which Alex has been watching, he loves it and it's actually pretty good. There's there's one episode where Donald Duck, and normally he speaks as the as the normally unintelligible Donald Duck you know how you know your cracking the crack voice. He swallows this gadget from from. gyro gear loose that makes him talk normal. This episode and it's kind of you know and they're any always like really being really serious and and directing their adventure and all these things. Everyone looks at him like wait. That's what you were saying this whole time I played as a joke and eventually the you know he he coughs the thing short Saudi coughs it up and he's back to his normal weird sound but but it's like hearing that normal voice coming out of Donald Duck, I mean I. Know It's only for one episode and it's it's Kinda played as a gag in and it works within within the episode. But it's like that's just so weird you can't do that change and they do by by episodes back to his normal self but. It would be that would be the same thing hearing goofy talk like a normal person. It's like no that does not work elicited. As a joke. Yeah. And it's not like this wasn't And it's not like they didn't do it for the TV show. So it's like just just leave it. But. That was that was one thing I saw I read like. Glad you I'm glad I'm glad cooler heads prevailed on. That would not. that. The the key the character would have been. All wrong. Yeah. Yes. But it was like, but it's like a combination of bill farmer in the director and even Roy Disney the waltz nephew who's in charge at the time I involve. No change it back. Yeah. But Yeah I. Read that and I was like oh my gosh, I never knew that. Yeah. You could add a very different movie I. Don't know if it had been. It had been quite as good. Oh no now well, it at one point like bill farmer was not going to be the voice of goofy they were they were looking to like Steve Barton. soupy voice like why would you do that? You? You've already established with the you know with the person doing the voice was a particular sounds like why wouldn't you do that? Yeah like I I can see cat recasting Max because he's In this movie, He's older than he is in in the show. Yeah that that makes sense anything else. That's a much. Yeah. Like dude don't. Yeah. You don't mess with Perfection Yeah. Yeah. You've got these. Amazing. Folks. Do the voices of these. Do. Like if they're if they're alive and they can do it, let them do it. Don't to the desktop. No. I don't like it. Anyway but no yeah, I mean. Overall I mean they did they do they did a good job it's it's one of those instances of you know. Yeah. You can spend a lot of money on getting on the animation or or the voice cast or what have you and do a huge amazing blockbuster movie or But sometimes, it's these little low budget things that just. They, they hit you where you live. and. They stick with you their timeless and they worked together something just clicks and all the all the components make something wonderful and I think. That's that's kind of what happened here. And it's like I said it's still really well regarded. So. Sometimes. Disney, you don't have to have to drop a whole ton of money to make something that lasts. Long Term I. Think they got their eighteen million dollars out of it. I'm sure they did I'm sure they did. Anyway. Go ahead. So I was like. I may not like watch like it's been a couple of years since I watch movie I watched it. Yesterday put this but it's been cup of a yes. But I still like everyone why now I'll go on Youtube input on ice I love that. Song. Yeah As I like we were I saw one comment you know looking through all the stuff and someone said, it is a tragedy that they did not get. Tevin Campbell to drop an entire album as power line to promote this movie and my gang hit that would been such a good idea. Also like I would love to. Get those two songs from him. Yeah, yeah. I would've loved him all. that. Would have been good like, why is he the greatest ever? I? Mean they did do a sequel to this, but it's only a sequel in the in the sense that it's all the same characters except Roxanne doesn't show up again it's not really a sequel. She sort of like here's another up movie and it's fine. I'm not. In. Any way, but it's not. It's not quite as good. Yeah. An extremely extremely when it is funny 'cause 'cause goofy goofy gets a girlfriend and he goes so that part is funny. When numbers Max is in college like. Nothing like. That he will go. To gooby enrolls in college and he's in, he's in Max's same classes. So yeah, it's it's kind of got that same spirit of the original goofy movie. So so it's a fun movie I. I like a Goofy movie just a little bit more and. Relied too heavily on extreme sports like skateboarding awesome. But that was goofy is like bread and butter when he was originally created back when he was all goofy at first is. Dog Or something like that. Yeah. But his his his stick with the early Disney animation when he was first created was a lot of he supposed to be the every man. Attempting he did a lot of it's like skiing and football and yes. These terrible at it. It's it's all those how to cartoons like how? How to ski how golf to play? Football Learned how to dance how to yeah I I don't know if they've ever come out with this if they haven't I wish they would just a collection of all the goofy. How to cartoons I would I would buy that in a heartbeat. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA, have to see if that exists somewhere and if it's not Disney, what are you doing? I'm sitting on a gold mine. It's like it's like you guys you want to print money. Well, there you go. Entirely. Looks at I think I remember watching that like on abused as tape I don't remember if that was. Thing or selling that I knew how? I don't I I remember watching a whole bunch of. Not being as yeah but yeah. Well I I want all of them give them. A category Disney I don't care I. I need it somewhere. That would work too. Cool. From vessel this is this is on there. So I, mean this is where we were watching it. So, I was able to watch it for the First Time Kazaa Random memory I have this one. When I was like false grade there was a Luna Clip so my teacher. The other big class stay had spent the night. At School. Like we do. Stuff like you say like tasked with his insane for. Fuck Linear. As the next day they didn't like. The can this is this going to watch movies all day, and this was like one of them I remember like we all. The. So Golick call up. Those like this area like kind of like all like reading area watching movie area all like all those sleeping bags. And if I remember right my conscious actually. But. Those remember watching that. All my friends were to seeing. Like is Dan Now? Is Fun. Yeah. Great Film. If you haven't watched a while fire up Disney plus or find your DVD or whatever it is you have and go watch it.
