"Oops it's nathan and then it's good fuck us. Hey nathan this is. This is good. Fuck names cohen colin. Good folk. you don't even know him a madam on the internet. Now i'm going to say good for inside and check out that name to if you don't mind running along for nathan. I felt so sad for him at this collision of world's count as the voice of reason. And just kinda shame. Stewart into going out to send fifteen year. Old nathan home safely scene was coming together. I'm like this is really good. I love the dial up modem. Oh yeah the that. The speed at which the picture was displayed was great. Fifteen seconds for them to come down. God remember when associated catches up nathan on the street. You have anyone. He's mill thing is no one is overly. I was then. I was that all night and i really like you. He doesn't even know you nathan. I've had you. Did you think that dirt was being a bit cruel with what he said to nathan. Though that whole i've had you line. Por nathan was nearly in tears. Yes again god fifteen go to all the trouble good on the sidewalk. Like right. Like a little gentle. Yeah also and i'm sorry but when the trick is saying like hey he's young go check on him down. Maybe you should look at your life choices. This moment was definitely not oversold though But that was it. And charlie hunnam really carried that seen entirely with that look. That was just that blink away from tears when he's hearing this from stewart. I just love that scene on the sidewalk and then stir paid for a taxi to take them home. I will say nathan's guy that like locked up with everyone paying for taxes for him so back upstairs. A colin got ready. I guess this was an interesting moment. Stewart was i guess so moved by nathan on the street that he lost interest in good fuck and was going to send him away and then twelve seconds later he lunges through the air to do what you explain that to me. Because i was very confused. I i'm guessing that he playfully tackled him and started taking his clothes off. Oh and fucked him anyway. Yeah i did like how it ended though he just kinda like frozen mid air and it's like right there with us but also i mean a lily make comments about how okay so stewart actually has security and his loft because he's answering a phone to buzzer bright people. Don't get all the way here banging on the door. But then also he's just like he's also just laying this trick. Stay here while he goes after the other one. You defeated the purpose. What we're doing okay. But then at least he points out. Say hey don't rob anything. Yeah i think it was. Don't grab anything. Was it rubber rob. That was rob. I thought it was. I thought he was telling him to like. Don't steal my shit. Maybe that was slang. That escaped me. Oh maybe like. Don't rub your knob on my sheets or something like that okay. Let's talk about tops and bottoms for this episode. What was your top vince. Taking care of nathan. I love it. I love the advent. Take me away from all. This might top was nathan on the sidewalk with stuart last seen it was just so well written had so much nuance to it that i found it really hyper believable as well acted by charlie ottoman. Aiden gillen i really. That seems really really resonated with me and i thought that was the standout moment and the entire episode. What was your bottom. My bottom is going to be like the tricks in the show. I don't find them particularly attractive. I was waiting for you to bring that up like the like nine. Naya's good fuck. I thought Toilet was not laze. Okay it's just. I mean he was. He was fine but he sort of you know what it was. I think it was partly the way the suit was fitted to him. It looked like a lewis a little big just like if it was tailored better. Maybe but still like well. This is manchester. This is like the every man show and so instead of having like supermodels parading around and Like the us version. Let's find the nearest blonde haired guy with ads. This is this is real. These are real people that you encounter out in the wild and that you really wanted to go to manchester. While i was while i was in england. Yeah so my bottom was Nathan turning on events at a really early stage. We know that it's inevitable but infiltrate. Vince had really wound up maytham so far that he would just be so vicious to somebody so quickly it did move the story forward though this might be just a bit of a little about him not why not a full body the we bottom. Yeah we go about this episode. Two of season one and it was called stuart. Alan jones next time on so folk stirred. Invents are having a wild night out on canal street while being pursued by nathan. Rosalie film makes a new friend. With very unexpected consequences. That will be episode three of season one. It's called a night out. Thanks.

"Scene when nathan is in gets onto the bus was great. Triples over coles county georgia not long. They often devas no thing zip. All i'm it's basically nathan throwing everything to the wind in going after stewart. It's like nathan's moment of leveling up from fifteen year old schoolboy mindset to go find his twenty nine year old power top power top personal. Yeah well and then right away. He's back on canal street and he's reduced back down into being newboy on the scene so yes very demurely down really quite know where he was going or like it was. It was going to be a new path for him. Yeah but that contrast of getting onto the bus in owning it and get off the bus and being like whoa. What did i just walk into. It was great. I love about what we see in this bar culture They're they're still about the bar culture. That i just love. What is that in comparison to say the clubs that we were experiencing and that thumper don't say we had advance going on about like what it was like to be a straight bob and i'm like a game. Bub is not that much different. Just a few more colorful lights than it wasn't just like swarms a sweaty bodies on top of each other people were. They were drinking and shooting. The shit really. Not much has changed going to the pumps in london as like. Oh this is. This is very quiet. This is such my scene. I'm so happy there is a big difference between a pub slash bar and club. Sure i would say like we sort of only got one bit of bar with woody's but here's like no matter what public going to. Yeah it's still it's much quieter so everybody's a starry intersex at the bar. Great bit of directing here as we see nathan walk into the bar. He's looking for stewart. Just barely misses him and the camera picks up a different conversation. Those great directing loved it. Fill is back. He was the model for ted in the us series historic. It's important before too long. But for now israel is pretty minor is just a little bit of a hype man with vents. Yeah i was gonna say he's not a real presence or almost like we're not getting into his backstory yet. We're very much focused on our core three right now which i really i. I like that. I liked that focus like let us learn and start to understand these people before we introduce others. I like that. Vince spots nathan. I how stunned by your pets. Have you seen up you sane. Talk club sips apa. The chicken is london. His name is nathan. Right i am. How's the baby class solicitor to drink. Hay ni gives him though he gives to come on over so he was nice at first and scalded stewart to be nice to he even remember reminded stewart of nathan's name. I was kind of digging this. I like fences. Nice guy routine with the interloper. I'm telling you. I love with beds in that first episode. I'm glad to see continuing stood offers nathan. Drank of vince has clearly seen this play before as stewart heads for the exit and stereo instead of getting the drink. And then vince intercept. Some on the street and i love that they have these secret passages in the part that they're using this great it was. I just cackled it. I thought that was so funny. Back to the bar tells them to behave. There's one line that really cracked me up. Go home be nice to me. Don't mean shaggy. I'll give me some credit quite sweet and you think i don't know i haven't licked him. This is specific very true. I just want to break into comparison of yeses. uk here like right away in the uk version. There's no real sense of animosity going on. And i i just find that really refreshing. Yeah there's there's no like petty jealousy. There's no real everything is in such a good fun. Yeah exactly yeah. Yeah i like. I agree victim so we get a mom reveal. We meet hazel tyler. Who was on stage with a collection of queens. I guess you look at the twenty. So i was shame. She's like among us like me. Nathan wasn't at all that mortified by his blunder. Though in it seem to be more of an eye opening moment for him that mothers could be unlike his preconceived version of what mothers are and do and so. I thought that scene had a little more weight than i thought. At first glance. I thought it was just kind of the the weird meet cute again like. Oh there's my crazy mother. Oh i didn't know that was your mother. But the said a a little more emotion behind it. And i like that yeah. I think that's something that i really picking up on this particular version. This version of the show is that it's just They seem to care a life. I think that's a big difference. So far they're consistent lou it. Yeah it's not really about a lot of flash but is it is showing like. Oh this is what could be going on in the inner monologue for for nathan. Oh he makes his crack about this. You know crazy woman in the bar finds out at someone's mother and now it's like wait a minute i'm other could do that can actually and also like not. He's also not turned off by the by the joke. The comment that nathan makes he's sloughs it off. It doesn't doesn't beginning of it. Which is really really sweet. And i'll just also aside now i can see that the drag there has not gotten better. I saw some real i. It's awesome good. I will say this. I saw some really good drag. Hell even a couple of people who showed up on the uk drag race Is also tragedy to the exiled. Yeah something i found. Interesting was when phil told stewart. That nathan was his responsibility because he fucked him. I thought that was strange. Because in my entire life. I've never once felt responsibility for somebody that one of my friends hooked up with. Do you think that they had this sense of duty to look out for him. Since he's only fifteen. Or i didn't quite get that because i mean he won like he's he's fifteen. Clearly he came out there to stewart. He is obviously not used to this. He doesn't know who the kind of person Stewart is and clearly has whenever we have these like first experiences. We immediately think we're in love with that person or like that means something it's like. Nah fuck so. I just thought it was nice that they pretty much let him roll with the crew right away. Yes they took him in as there was really sweet. And like we had planned before like vince. Like waves him in and says yes. Please hang out with us like they didn't try to shake him in any way. Yeah and i think these days stewart stewart was shake but this is like no he came all this way be nice to him and i it almost like if you're gonna let him down let him down gently I also love effective as points. I was like this is what we did when we were his age. Who do we talk. Nobody would talk to isolate. Let's offer some sort of good nature goodwill towards him nathan headline when he asked you at how old he is giving yourself away. Barry shane showing your age old. I how do you think i fuck off. Twenty nine good straighter because nathan clearly. Didn't care how old stewart was but sturgis kind of walked right into it by asking nathan. He thinks he is. That just can't ever go. Well for stewart with vincent fill at the table. That was hilarious. But it was enough to ascend stewart whipping off in the jeep. Because as he had to say his age out so that kind of breaks up the nice bar scene that we had. Vince is nathan. Get a taxi back to donna's and tries to give nathanson sage advice about stewart. Look he's not your boyfriend. He just doesn't think he has a laugh. A boyfriend doesn't do boyfriends these nice. he's a coat doesn't give a toss about anyone. Wow if one of my friends was giving that level of sage advice about me. I would be quite angry. Was he wrong. Well no but. I don't know it's it's is if you meet somebody and then your friend comes up and said i mean translate that for you. Well i feel like he kinda he had i. It was his way of having to break the news to nate exhaust. Knew there was gonna getting on that bus. And who's gonna keep coming to meet stuart. And how is vince. Go to say listen. You can't expect him to like be the one that you're going to fall in love with. Because this is what he does. Yeah i don't know i i would say the ventas. His loyalty is to stewart. Not nathan will like. That's a theme stewart. Wasn't going to do it. And this is polly. Something that vince has done before we we learn about all the people that they all. The people that stewart has had amongst city. I'm sure this is not the first time vincent tell a trick this is this is where you get off of. It is really vince. His role to do that is he. The stewart speaker probably doesn't want to be but he's probably taking it upon himself to be. That is a moral obligation to to protect the fifteen year olds of canal street to protect the innocent. Yes as a nathan's comeback was priceless. But i don't know is that it was really warranted because nathan just lit up events and they barely just matt slugging mafia but then follow him out all the time. Go by this friends with current. Never got to finish that one. Did you alright chicken for. Oh my gosh yeah. The wake is finished. I was like ooh was much as i love. Russell t davies is writing here i. I just didn't think that vince had sat enough to really set off. Nathan to go for the jugular. He's also a fifteen year old. who is like thinks. he's found his one. True love after one. Fuck like there are all sorts of hormones in the in the air and all sorts of emotions. That are running through nathan. That yeah is going to be easy for him to try and get petty comment off. This is just gonna keep coming back to nathan being fifteen. Yeah because he's what fifteen so we pick up with steered his computer back at his flat. I thought it was strange. That stewart left the bar where there were plenty of guys said he could pick up to go home to use a computer to try to pick up a guy. He's probably just trying to get away from nathan so let me just because if he goes to one bar vinson nathan blocks long you got plenty of opportunities to find other but i did think it was a weird bit of foreshadowing because i think these days gay guys are completely content to use grinder to hit up somebody. That is actually in the same bar that they are in the amount of times. I have seen my friends do that is astounding over. Say hi. i've been talking to this guy on scuff. Yeah he's over there. he's over there. Yeah of triangulate location. I can tell you how many feet away from you three. He's right there go. I mean granted. It is hard to if people are at the bar there with their friends. It is a bit hard to just walk up and jump in to the conversation. But it's definitely not unheard usher right. I sure i've had courage you it but i like it very simple art under them not good talk to this guy another round then by the time you walk over there. You're slurring your words and you all bloodshot. i'd skip so seward. Invites a chap named good luck to come over. Stewart hits the buzzer blindly. And.

"At it. Like is a growing. Thank you usually tell. This is really complicated. 'cause you don't wanna get caught or do you wanna make sure you're getting caught by the right person at good point so yeah so like you know do do you look and when you look are they you know stroking a little bit you know so then then as you start to pick up on what they're giving you kind of give it back and then it can grow i. I can't imagine doing this in public. Maybe at a gay bar definitely Which i have done at a gay bar but like at work and the toilets there and now not at work. I know but other public places. Yes so into the saw they go. I was surprised and thrilled. That stewart was going to serve as him. Yes oh to his knees to blow him. Yes i'm glenn. Also that it didn't like normally we see them cut away like we see the head down here note. We followed suit all the way down to where we got to see that ring on. His finger grabbed the back of his hair and push them down. Dick something that caught my eye here. Is that in this intro Where we have stewart. Nathan vince all in their own. Uptick your environs. Stewart's the only one that actually gets the attention of the sexy boy in question like nathan didn't get it from the cute boy vincent get it from the too cute boys in his store. Stewart gets it in. So i thought that was a nice way to start warming us up to the fact that first of all stewart's hor second of all he's got a personality and magnetism that can draw people in i. I agree i. There is something about him. Like i'm into it. Like the charisma that he gives off that it's sort of like it is a cockiness but it's not one where it's like a. You're clearly full of yourself here. It's like night. You gotta have some reason to feel.

"We didn't know that up until this point did we know what i like about. This episode is that it's it's such a continuation like we know that they just got. They just dropped nathan school so they could go to work and so we are quietly. Just pick right up where we left off. So i liked that okay. Now we're getting an introduction of like this is the day life are characters. Yeah so. Vince is working in the supermarket. And there's two boys doing shopping together. They unfortunately think that vince was making fun of them. When in fact it was quite the opposite and vince was quite erect over them. I think yeah he was into them. He was stalking them where we say cruising cruising at work we also meet a character named marcy Who works events and she's clearly the gossipy one of the store at the one that you definitely don't want to tell your secrets to nuke she sets up After work drinks with rosalie here. We realize that. Vince is still in the closet at work and that was another piece of goodrich where that was just kind of raised in a interesting way. It wasn't heavy. It was less failing. The proportion was just right. Yes so the invite was to address the go to the pub and i love these analogies that vince was using when he was walking into the pub. Soul trope everything being told. Oh my god everything but for all the people talking in sentences that have no punchline and he thought even cap can you believe it. They've got toilets which no one's ever had sex. Okay you would think that. But it's i have seen straight people get crazy in well. I guess they were getting crazy. A gay bar bathroom so maybe well the funny thing is is that vince surely has been to straight pub before. Yes reminds you the very first time. I went to boys town. Now known as north halstead Right before i moved to chicago and what it felt like to be walking in the neighborhood and then you take a left turn. And oh my god it's rainbows and a street. That screamed gay. So vincent resume have an awkward conversation at the bar but then vince realized that they actually had some stuff to talk about the move to opposite coronation street. I mean you have no chance. Sorry i'll remember the eighty seven twenty nine. I had to take water. And what's the other coastal. Yeah only mom. She's given up watching a coach. She says it's full of cates. That's not true. Got you're fairly what she's it and it was funny that they were bonding over coronation street because later both of them were on coronation street. She has i think just about every british actor has been on that show and one way or another. Because there's like ten thousand episodes. As i looked up i looked up the reference. You know because. I just my view of british television is relatively small so to look up. This is a coronation. Street is a soap opera. That premiered in nineteen sixty and has just continue to run. so it's very. It's almost like the. It's sort of a doctor who of soap opera. Apparently i liked that they work. They worked at. Yeah it's it's nice. I i i like the show. It's a nice working class soap opera that just has longevity so stewart phones events after a dust up with dykes. We'll talk about that in a bit. But i love that. Vince was having such a good time. Talking to rosalie that. He didn't necessarily even want to leave. And without knowing that he was kind of experiencing a fag hag relationship for the first time and he was into it he liked this girl he liked hanging out with her. He was experiencing another kind of friendship. Yeah outside of stewart which is great too bad he didn't just come right out and say hey look something you should know thanks gay. Yeah so stuart story Picks up where we find out that he does some sort of advertising work as kind unclear. Exactly what he does. He just kind of showed up. He went to the meeting but didn't do anything in the meeting was even talk. He wasn't even talking during that presentation. No not at all he was. Just i fucking the client which i do love the fact that the second that client walked in. He clocked it and immediately put on the ribbon. Yeah i kinda thought that that was That dated things a little bit because in one thousand nine hundred nine being out was much different than it is today so start putting his little equivalent of pink triangle on his lapel to signal to his client. Which team is on. Seem little almost quaint. Almost like you needed to do that. In order to have like a safe encounter now. I think it's a lot easier to hit somebody out in not at all. Be concerned about it. But i felt like such an ingenious way to signal the dallas gay. I thought that was so clever. There's so many ways that i've been a lot of ways. We try to like the characters. Try to introduce themselves as gay and to do something like that. I thought was. I had never seen before. So i thought that was really really clever hilariously. He's credited as mannan toilet but they. Sandra stirred assistant actually said his name. I think it was daniel. Was it michael michael. What names michael. Thank you but the information is not melting. He's married with case. I like that setup that she did yes like she knew it was going to happen and we. Are we going to break down. How bathroom situation went Yeah so i did have a question written down for you matt. You'd definitely have some appropriate experience in this situation was stewart's urinal behavior correct etiquette for bathroom cruising I think it is very. It's very forward Often times the way the cruising kind of works is that it's much more. You have to kind of glance and make it reads like you're looking but you're not looking. His is very much. Like i'm going to take my turn. Look down right at your john and have a thought about it. Normally it's like you've got to be very careful because you don't know that person really there just to use the bathroom or if they are looking for something so you. Kind of have to read. The signals are they. Do they keep looking back at you. What happens if you look.

"You have anyone. He's missing is no one is is ugly. I was there. I was there all night and i really like you. He doesn't even know you ason. I've had you balanced. We are still queer as folk. patrick randall. and i met dominquez today. We're talking about episode. Two of channel. Four's queer as folk has called stuart alan jones first aired in the uk on march second nineteen ninety nine. How long time ago it was of course run by show creator the incomparable russell t davies stuart. Alan jones was directed by charles mcdougall. He directed the first four episodes of the show and he went on to direct such notable shows as sex in the city desperate housewives which he won an emmy for the pilot episode. big love. The tutors the office and house of cards. The american versions the uk version of the office. Better i don't know why i think this is darker. Here's the synopsis of cereal. John's at nathan is still glowing from his all night. Fuck vest with stirred. Alan jones and sets off for canal street in search of him. Things are going well enough for the teenager until he stalks stewart to his flat only to find him about to test out a chap named good fuck or colin as we find out later i had questions about good folks photos setup with one of his plays after they mistakenly think that he is straight surprisingly he had a good time with rosalie. Until stuart summons him back with drama cooked up by lesbian parents of baby alfred. What are their names again. It's romney and lisa. Lisa not romeo michelle though i keep mistaking which one had the baby. I think in the last episode. I said that. Lisa had the baby but had the baby. There's like three of them. Because who's the lady would like the really short hair. I don't think she's been named yet. She comes in later though. She has a overall. I did find out though that baby. Alfred is played by actor named alfie. Okay so once again. This is not broken. Out into a b and c stories and runners and things like that russell t davies writes a much more fluid and fast paced type of screenplay which i like so the story is really the boys and the beast story i said was lesbians and they had five minutes four minutes with screen time three hundred quarter. Yeah yeah so. Let's talk about the boys i We get a sexy boy intro and the song that was playing. It's actually called sexy boy that's by air. Let's take a look at these separate stories one at a time until all these stories intersect later we started out with nathan and school. He had been dropped off by stewart and he is on his way to class news and as cute british schoolboy uniform and i had a question about this so all these boys walking down the hallway and there's one boy in particular that catches. Nathan's attention do you think they cast that extra strictly for that wonderful but that was on him. I am talking about yesterday. I always though because nathan is like energized again being fucked on night like yeah go in. And he's like it's very much like he's like the school and not really being shy about it now. Really great i really. I really liked it. I really liked that sort of confidence that he was exuding. And as he's going down the hall needs swagger undertaking. Yeah that's what it is. That's why we meet. Nathan's best friend who was named donna. And first of all. I immediately fell in love with donna. How could you not. She's exactly who my best friend in school would be some news. Chris look over there. Monday said that nicole futures chasing name is so wrong. It makes you normal. Just don't say again because nicole new blow proper competition. Everything went to chinatown. Who was she wouldn't look chrissy. Nope he paid on love. That girl so nathan just blurts out that he would do christian. Hobbs and i thought it was cute. That nathan had never come out to his best friend until that very moment was she surprised. Think so she's just doing took it as fact she didn't think anything of it. She had a little surprise. Look on her face. But i think it was because nathan was so pornographic about were just like i thought it was more. Just like the shock of the crudeness which he was describing. Yeah jeez i liked then. It was it. It wasn't a full meal in an easily. Set up our understanding of these. Two of nathan and donna just a very quick seen. Something i noticed was when they went running off through the school yard after the bell rang it was like. Oh yeah. He's fifteen child that's right. Yeah so nathan's description of getting fucked by stewart was quite amazingly graphic an accurate talk night and he's like in off and it's killing me telling you typing stop by stick and it's fantastic. It's brilliant because it's him. I wasn't mad about though i was like. Yeah that's pretty accurate especially for your first time. Also like nathan's really deep explanation of scene. I love you and stewart's face without stewart. Actually saying it. I thought that was really brilliant story writing. He's coming. He's coming because of me and i'm looking at his face. It's just amazing. Said he said. Look me and i'm not stupid. Say anything it was obvious face just for that second that coming from a teenager you know to to be sort of that insightful. With it it's like you're also your fifteen was also stewart. Never sat. I love you and i actually went back to check because i wasn't sure and then i realized wait a minute. This is just good writing. I have to get used to this. It's been a minute. It's been three years of us cruise folk. So let's talk about vince story. Real quick We find out that he works in the supermarket.
Saudis sporting soft-power attempt
"November twenty eighth the green lights over the greed in jeddah will go out and the first saudi arabian grand prix will into life and though twenty formula one qasr raise a mightily impressive in the start of a race. They will need to rev extra to have any hope of drowning out throughout about the propriety of this event occurring at all a row to which this very explainer is about to make a modest contribution. Let's look at the undeniable upsides. I which one take too long in and of itself. The saudi arabian grand prix will doubtless be a splendid spectacle. It is to be held on a street circuit in jeddah the precise layout remains to be confirmed but it seems certain one part of the track will conduct formula one's spelt machines down the konishi the boulevard which hugs the red sea coast. And the saudis will certainly dredge deeply from the bottomless pit of money to rent the proceedings as sumptuous extravagant as possible. It might even be of crucial importance in the context of next season. The saudi arabian grand prix will be the second lost race of the year. So if two thousand and twenty one turns out not to be yet. Another procession led by lewis hamilton. The wheel of his mercedes come at the calendar man lewis. Hamilton starts an incredible qualifying. They could still be much to play playful when the teams arrive in jeddah. So that's the good news. Then there are the reasons why this edition to the formula. One calendar is the stuff of foreign desk explainers. It is hopefully not necessary to reemphasize the variety and severity of the ways in which the saudi regime is one of the world's most repressive. We do not have all day still less all month. It is suffice to say a regime which ethically inclined businesses would tend to regard from the foreign bargepole formula one does not appear overly troubled on this front in recent years alone. Races have been held in russia as a fan bahrain and china. None of whom would be within sight of the podium at any sort of grand prix of human rights. it is probably not outrageous to suggest that formula one's principal objections to holding a race meeting in north korea. Iran equatorial guinea or turkmenistan would be logistical rather than an ethical. So we know what formula one wants from this. What's more interesting is what saudi arabia is off to. I think that's the end of the day. You know something that you want to have fun with otherwise. What's the point? Absolutely absolutely. and. What's the situation? I mean I haven't been keeping up to it much myself. But what's the situation with you know gyms and crawfish places in those kind of things opening up in La County again and do you have any updates or information on that at all? Well, yes, and no, it's it's. Our governor was supposed to come out with guidelines this week on how! Who teague studios can start opening and. With the riots I think you know he's a little stranded right now. So everybody speaking of Gym Owners and Small Studio. Owners is clamoring at the bid to to get back opened up I I mean I. Don't know be able to survive. We're doing okay, but I don't know how lock these even the bigger gyms are they going to survive? On, the member does Jim Downtown, and that's a humongous Jim I mean. They've got a swimming pool and they've got. You know the cycling room and the Yoga Brooms, a whole big area for weights and machines, and you could imagine what their monthly rent bill is the the overheads, and both in keeping that place open so. really hard earned shutdown. It's it's a great gym and it's very convenient to make around the corner from my office, but. You gotta things like you know how long age companies or the gym survive with your that your income. Is Yeah and then going forward. What is the re-opening look like? because. They're going to have to cut time in half. They're going to have to create social distancing within the studios. Have people come in on intervals it I. Mean you're you're cutting your clientele and a half. Hour to maintaining. I I just don't know how. It's GonNa. Play out. It's scary. It is very scary and it's the same for Bubba. Businesses to I mean if you have a hair or now sell on even the restaurant at. Seeding you know how those people Dennis abroad. Great you. They may be able to open their doors. that doesn't necessarily mean everyone's GonNa jump up there couch and. Walk out to you know to a restaurant or a gym. Basketball sort of the obvious things wrestling I got into serving. That was a big part of my life. Served. And then from there, you know I I was sitting in a piano chair so. To Change. I realized I got to start working out and then I started doing my own thing going to the gym working out where I can. Two Thousand Eight, two, thousand nine. Discovered Cross fit and I started doing cross fair, which was. I thought fantastic. I had a lot of fun and. Energizing. And metal out of really good friends. And a friend of mine. So Long Beach Basically. Won't be Cherry you. Cruel cruel. And so I mean the reason that you have you know barbells and dumbbells in the studio and you kind of picked him up occasionally is that for of energizing self and kind of getting the blood rushed and feeling inspired again to continue working part of the reason he has some. You work workout gear in the studio. Will. Hearst right now is because Kobe's here right and there's a where to go so. You get a workout. It's reminder of like. You've gotTa Work Gallery. You can't just sit in a chair all day. Right, but but I can't. Exactly exercise definitely stimulates your blood flow. And you're creating gain. And everybody can see it, and you're sitting there and it feels like it's so terrifying. But you know when you have the the ability to improvise. Thanks to my jazz improvisation. It's it's all there. I can sit down and play anything anywhere anytime and not worry about it. And also playing in hotels and restaurants helped because that's I did that every night for for years. And the point where you're, you're just your hands. Just flow, and you pretty much play anything. Right Right! Yeah, the my my days as a touring musician. Sometimes, you're in a situation where you're playing the same tunes you know nodding night out and after a while you. You kinda there, but you're also switched off the same on because you thinking about Oh. You know what I have to do the Mara and What's coming up next week and it's like Oh. That's right. Oh go to take care of that. Cotton like you're on autopilot urine stage in front of hundreds of people and you know there's lots and everything going on. You'll hands and mind, and just you know doing two separate things. It's a kind of a bizarre inflation sometimes. It really is but I've been there too many times. You're either tired thinking about this and thinking about that and you're. You're just on autopilot. Someone says Oh man that you know that cool leaky played in. That chewed in the bridge Putney like. What did I play? What just dominant? I remember what you play that you. That that's the fun part about it. And through school I ended up arranging in touraine throughout China and Taiwan Asia. and. Eventually started doing conducting tours over there was I. I was actually conducting Tours. Intern so. On one of the big moments or remember conducting the National Chinese, Orchestra I mean this is an orchestra of one hundred fifteen people. It's massive. while. Yeah, so that was a great privilege and honor. But quick story about that is I remember going over there. In the rehearsals the week we're coming up for this big giant concert. This is in Beijing. And I'm with the orchestra rehearsed seen in sort of a small room for one hundred and some odd people. And you know they sounded really good. But you know I didn't know what to expect so I'm just doing the best I can, and nobody spoke English the. First cellist, did so. She's sort of was my interpreter and. Gave me the voice of the orchestra. So I remember going on stage the first night of the first concert! Everybody's out there. LLORCA SAT. They bring me out I. Come Out I bow turnaround. The first note is for DC. Mo-, which is very very loud, so. We rehearse this in. Rehearsals the prior week many many times it sounded good but I. I raise my hands and I hit it and this group practically blew me off the stage. From. Rehearsals a level to to about a level twenty five. Intensity so. That was quite a shock I had no idea that was going to a so I was just like. Oh, my Gosh! It was like the best seat in the house right. I'm right there. In, the conductor spied on the podium, conducting into securing this massive sound combat me and I just thought Oh my gosh. I'm going to get another hour and a half of this. Plane especially everywhere. It's just been a great. It's been a great ride. Go back to the early days anyway. Did you grow up? Where did you go to school? Age Learn music took a little bit about that. I was born in Long Beach. Grew up of course like a lot of kids just playing sports. And I was in band. Remember. Being in marching band, I played snare drum. As, well as junior, high school, and from there, I started playing drums in my church choir. We started to hang around and that was a lot of fun. and. That's how I got my first drums said. In in high school. I formed a band called the manor as and we were very. Very successful we played all around, and did a little bit of terrain. It was sort of a surf band. Band and that. SORTA got me into performing. So I kept doing that and Veered back to piano. I started playing piano when I was about five years old. And I got sort of tired of Luggy my drums everywhere. For these gigs, I was always the first one there the last one to leave. And I started playing piano gangs only thought well. Maybe I could play some keyboards, and then I started playing piano and keys. One thing led to the other and after high school. I moved to Hawaii with my best friend serve. We were big servers in highschool. In era had sort of an epiphany of you know. I wanted to do music. Care, how or why I just WanNa do music, so I moved back and I started. Studying music, Piano specifically and just got bit by the classical bug. And the rest is history i. Studied classical music and started practicing. I remember about eight to ten hours a day every day every day for many many years. And Went to college at Cal State University Long Beach. Got My bachelor's of music in piano performance, which is all classical music? And my master's in composition. And then during that time I was playing professionally.

"It because stink in Ocean City is opening up this weekend this is actually the dumbest thing I can imagine our love to see the mayor and the governor holding hands arms are straight away of course as you're walking to the unemployment office you cannot make this up Alan Jones all right he is oppose always yeah let's go to Barbara Baltimore Barbara good morning you're on the air good morning and thanks for taking my call I'm good morning Britain I commend the people of Ocean City you know I may just like you are at the comment I was also amazed at the comments being made on the live feed of real good Maryland on Saturday they think that people were saying and I don't know what's wrong with folks in the state I don't think this the status of it ever really fully wake up people here seem to be very content to watch businesses go bankrupt to watch landlords be forced to maybe abandoned homes and I just don't get it I don't get it the Republican governors who had the guts to do what they needed to do I'm of the opinion I don't know if we should have ever really shut down I could see maybe some of the social distancing mask and gloves but I mean this thing is not going away the flu hasn't gone away are we still got a we never shut down the dog on government no I think it's interesting when one of our listeners who emailed us saying that the Maryland versus Florida and governor to Santos with one quarter of the population Maryland has only eighty two less deaths than Florida saw and and and Florida's kind of referred to as god's waiting room they have a long they have a large elderly population and so it looks like the governor should it all down for which was not demonstrably more effective than what they do in Florida the same screen if you take a look at the the death rate in Sweden the same thing Barbara that they didn't shut down they have about the same death rate and those covering the same things the people who are dollars seventy five eighty years old now I think what they've done they have successfully scared people to death it doesn't take much with the snowflakes it doesn't take much because anything I've heard people say that they have confessed to get a check I'm like what twelve hundred dollars and all the sudden you you're ready to give up your freedom in your living you've got to be kidding me but I tell you the cost of freedom the state benefits I think one of the Ronald Reagan he says we're only one generation away if this generation this new generation the young generation right here they'll give it away for check in a minute many of them and it's so unfortunate but as I'm going to just you know pray for the people of Ocean City and it's a good thing they're open enough we need to open up I don't issue and farmers who are going to move their businesses please hold losing their livelihood yeah exactly right and that's you know again the economic of devastation will be you know what will make the the pandemic of pale in comparison because you know we we've done the the suicide rate the hotlines of nine hundred percent there is substance abuse drugs alcohol or children ethical the following up going to work with the break the people that was just one last thing I'd like to say about governor Hogan he has really shown us that he's really not a rational thing man what was his business before was a real estate yes because it doesn't take a whole lot to be a good real estate person you know to try to make the money a good sale well the really good ones the really good ones obviously are back make a nice living at it but the other competitive business right well that's what he did that night live it this big successful businessman business I don't buy it at all he is not a well here's a here's a disconnect for me on that he is he was he claims he was a small businessman and but but again he's got to know that if you're truly a small businessman what he is doing right now is killing many businesses in the state of Maryland not not to have a sensible measured approach to open county by county as the federal guidelines have instructed by the way there were Berkshire said that to me were saying we're we're tracking this at a county level there's no reason jerk county has four cases for there's no reason why your county because you can open up I think Hogan has taken on it he's got a nasty of someone like case that you know they're just gonna hang on to the very end the need to be made out of the Republican Party you need to be thrown out of Republican Party this man is not of the public the following these left wing lunatics in DC and in Virginia he's not looking to the status you think he would have maybe had a conference call with the finances called possibly grace Abbott the governors who are leading the way what about the call as he once had he's head of the NGA he's talking these governors all the talk about brother Tillman not lift into one supermarket were coming about heartbreak but I just a real quick question for you so we should put you down as undecided on the on the on the hold him for Senate campaign I'm not a whatever we do have thanks so much eight thirty five coming up next she's running against us reporter you'll leader and more of your calls and comments coming up on Ocean City to stay right where you are here on the morning driver KCLU diverters outlines I thank shot Ocean City is going to reopen the beach and boardwalk this weekend why that is generating a lot of conversation here the move this coming Saturday is is it a baby step toward returning to town to a new normal during the whole Han virus the archdiocese of Baltimore laying out plans to reopen perishes after in person gatherings have been canceled because of the Wuhan virus is it worth the church will institute a phased in approach and will be informed by governor Hogan's three stage plan to re open of the state police in Maryland continue to go after people for
