"BK. You guys. The Alabama Crimson Tide didn't just roll. They steamrolled Ohio State 50 to 24 last night in Miami to win the college football National championship with the victory. Bama head coach next seven, picks up his six title in Tuscaloosa, seventh all time and surpasses legendary Tide coach Paul Bear Bryant. I think coach Brian has, you know, sort of in a class of his own in terms of what he was able to accomplish what his record is, and I mean, he's the one that made Alabama and the tradition of Alabama a place where lots of players wanted to come say they've got some all time performances from his offense, including Heisman winning wide receiver Devante Smith, who said a championship game record with 12 catches Go along with 215 yards and three touchdowns, and he did it all in the first half, because you'd injure his hand early in the second half and be done for the night. His to be Mack Jones through five TDs completed 36 45 passes for 464 yards and running back now you Harris found the ends on three times as well. The rockers search for a new GM is taking a step

The House will begin debating an impeachment resolution against President Trump tomorrow. A vote tonight is expected to approve a resolution put forward by Democrats urging Vice President Mike Pence in the Cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment. And remove President Trump from office and unlikely outcome. Tomorrow morning debate is expected to begin on a single article of impeachment, accusing President Trump of inciting insurrection, arguing his words encouraged the violent protest last week at the Capitol. If successful, it would mark the second time the House led by Democrats has impeached President Trump. Most Republicans are expected to oppose the impeachment. Many warnings such action days before President elect Biden takes office will further divide the country. Game, John Clayton to talk a little NFL and super wildcard, wet and wild card weekend. Whatever they're calling it, uh, Henry showman been waiting to get Henry on so we can congratulate him on an incredible career and Wish him well in retirement. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to talk to him occasionally. I don't know what 100 Just go into the witness protection program. Help. I'd be around now and then Molly Chris Mullin won't talk a little. Golden State Warriors hoops, which appears to be trending. And a really, really nice Direction and we get all the football and then we'll have the national championship game here for you at 5 15, Ohio State Buckeyes, the Ohio State Buckeyes. And the Alabama Crimson tide going on, fellas. You know, go Buckeyes. Uh, I second that emotion. I gotta to teamer. That's my second half. I need that. I need the Buckeyes get 8.5 so they don't have to win. They do need to show up. Go back to us and say, How do you have your money Land? Paarl Agha. Uh, Seattle? No, no. No Browns. No, no, no. Well, by that point, it was already done right By that point. Who cares? Who cares? We'll get. The Bulls would tell all the games. Now we get to all the games. We recap all the games to get to the word games. Over the weekend. So we got a lot to get into urban Meyer possibly moving on to the NFL. We get into I got to be honest, I'm probably gonna take Ohio State. But I still There's a part of me that still roots for Alabama and big games and not so much is like I'm a fan and a bump me and if they lose or anything like that, But my dad grew up in Alabama and rooted for Alabama at least a little bit. He wasn't a huge Bama fan. Hey, rooted for I mean, he was one of the rare rare sports fans and I due to calm a sportsman. He liked watching sports. He was never really a fan like he didn't get bent are super happy when a team one Leg of Auburn. We're in it. He wrote for them to go hell it from Alabama. I ain't got none else to reform like whatever. I really don't care didn't sway me one way the other So, but it was funny because I never Never cared for Auburn it all but the entire household was hurting for working for Obama when we go back there, and I remember being back there, we used to get in the summer, but remember being back there. I want to say thank you. Thank you, Harvey Updike. Alright P. Of course. I want to see where back to run things giving us to remember dead if this memory fragments of Bama Notre Dame game Way, Way, way back in the day. This had to be in that. Who late sixties early seventies somewhere. Around there and you know you go back there, and it's all Obama's, so they just kind of one of those schools that Yeah, if they're playing something, too big game, all root for them over Ohio State or cleanser or something, but it's like, you know, it's one of those schools that if they lose, they really don't I really don't care and trust me if I take Ohio State tonight. I'll be rooting for my money. My money will take Take take President. What do you think? Could be 49? Nothing for all I care. I really don't. It's not gonna hurt me. Let's put it that way. We've fruit for your money. Always obviously have a deep dislike for Alabama Crimson Tide football, But you know what I have alongside that deep dislike Tom. E have a great amount of respect, man. That is because how can you not respect with Nick Saban has done with that program. I think you can dislike something and respected talking in sports terms. Anyway, you can dislike something and respected equally or, you know, even have a greater respect than you do A dislike four. You know, whatever it is that bothers you again. Just keeping it in in the sports world we're gonna be talking about with this guy has done with this program for ever. Because you think it is. It has the nation that Yeah, it Zim President. We've never seen it before, And and I think you could hate what you're seeing. And also look at it and go. Damn. I watched that happen in real time for him to take what was at the time a Morvan program at the University of Alabama and turn it back into a powerhouse and have it have it changed its way. 2 to 3 times over the course of savings career with Alabama. It's incredible and the players that have come through that program and then gone directly to the NFL and have had success on the pro level. That's that's unprecedented as well. So I wanted to lose. I want him to lose badly. I got home is that went to Ohio State's headed to the homogeneity homely Brian. And all my other fellows I wanna have state to win. But if Alabama wins Yeah. Makes sense, doesn't it? Do that good. They're loaded. And they said that good for that. They got. They got a first, maybe a first round quarterback. They've got the Heisman Trophy winner. I think nausea. Harris has a better future than either of those guys and he's He's the third guy that you mentioned. I mean, they're just told, disagree. Leatherwood on their line is going to go mid. First round the other kid on their lines gonna go late. First round on me. They're stacked there really loaded and I'll tell you I noticed it when they came out here for the national championship at Levi's, that Clemson and Bama turn that into a huge huge recruiting Thing for them on the West Coast and you're going to see the effects of it. I think for the next decade in the decline of the Pac 12 in a lot of ways is tied. It's tied to Southern Cal, mostly, but it's tied also to Northern California athletes who are now open to you know, saying, You know what Was, you know, maybe 10 years ago, I go Cal Stanford. Maybe u C l A and that's if I if I wasn't the top guy who's the top guy? I'm going at sea. But now it's like, Hey, you know what? Go. Obama. I'm gonna Georgia Tech. I'll go to Tennessee. I go. The SEC has a strong hold on in the West now that it didn't have even five years ago, so it's going to get worse before it gets better. Look, we're seeing the We're seeing the greatest coach in the history of college football on there's some great ones. There's some great ones out there. But this is, uh This is a day and age. We actually had a win at least two games if meanwhile one game if not to, to win a national win a national championship. This isn't getting voted in the This is something we haven't seen before, and there are great..

"An honor to be here with you on this beautiful Saturday. We'll talk some college football with a good friend of mine. Jesse Court over who covers the sport coming up momentarily. But let's finish the conversation that we were just having about the top four. I think this year that the committee Woz at a pretty big disadvantage. I think it was pretty clear who Three of the four teams is, but you have to put four teams. So Notre Dame sort of had to made it by default. I mean sex is saying him, I actually think is better than Notre Dame, and I think if they played head to head I think that a and them would beat Notre Dame. We already saw Alabama and and then play earlier this year and Alabama won by double digits. Oklahoma. I think Alabama would've beat Oklahoma in a very similar way to how they just beat Notre Dame. So I don't think that would have made a lot of sense. I don't think people would have wanted Florida who we just saw them play each other in the S E. C championship game in the college football semi final, So I think the committee Was at a disadvantage in this is sort of been the theme so far of the college football playoff that a lot of times We have to get four teams, and in some years we're trying to talk ourselves in the eight when there's really only two or three teams that I think are a notch above everybody else. So Alabama Did what they did against Notre Dame, and we've got to start having the conversation about Alabama being the greatest dynasty ever. Like Scholarship limits with the television rules. Now we're basically everybody plays on national television. We got to start having the conversation about Alabama being as talented as any program in the history of the sport. At one point they had four first round wide receivers on their team to go to a talk about Lola was throwing to four separate guys who are gonna be drafted in the first round. Of the NFL draft and actually think Alabama's best receiver Jalen Waddle. Was hurt for most of the year. I think Jalen Waddle was the best wide receiver in college football. One of his teammates, one of his classmates is going to win the Heisman Trophy at wide receiver. Just an abundance of riches. For the Alabama Crimson Tide. But let's talk about the game that was close between Clemson and Ohio State and I think people sort of disregarded Ohio State for much of the season. Now it was easy to do. The big 10 started a lot later than most people they weren't overly impressive in the Big 10 championship game. Let's not kid ourselves on what we thought. Ohio State was at the very beginning of the year. Ohio State If this was a normal year, still would have found themselves in the playoffs. Now, I don't know if Notre Dame would have found themselves in the playoffs under a normal year. The top three teams. Alabama Clemson, Ohio State If this was a normal year, a non covert season when he having the exact same conversation About Ohio State being one of the three best teams in the country, and they went out there and they were downright impressive against Clemson. Justin Fields look like a guy worthy of being a top five Top three pick in the NFL draft. They got constant pressure on travel ruins. It's really hard to make the talent on Clemson look average It's difficult to do. It is very difficult to make the talent on Clemson seem normal, and that's what Ohio State was able to do for a full 60 minutes yesterday. That was as impressive as any effort we've seen so far this season in college football the way that Ohio State went out there and competed and dominated Clemson for the better part of that game. Which now I think is going to start to open questions up about Trevor Laurence. Now I think it's always very flawed to judge and evaluate players solely based off one game in bowl games. I think What makes this a little bit different is for player like Trevor Laurence and for a team like Clemson, where let's say you play 13 games in a season. And only two of those games. Are you going to play a team whose talent is anywhere close to where you are? And that's where Clemson and Ohio State is. The talent is very comparable on those teams. Ohio State's got future first round picks, They've got a future potential franchise quarterback. You've got a lot of those things. You got a great head coach. They've got a great head coach. Clemson has evolved to a point where not many teams were able to match the caliber of athletes that they're throwing out. Their Ohio State's one of those programs in Ohio State looked like the better program yesterday. And dominated Clemson. This is going to be an off season in which Trevor Lawrence is going to be evaluated in a way in which no quarterback probably has in this modern day draft process. Let's head to the phone lines right now to be joined by a good friend of mine. He covers college football. His name is Jesse Court over Jesse. How's it going, My man. I could see that I'm doing good man. I was. I started the show with this today. I think this was a really difficult year for the committee because I don't think there were four teams worthy of the college football playoffs. I think there were three Alabama Clemson, Ohio State, but I mean, it was basically going to be around Robin to figure out who got beat by double digits by Alabama in the in the first round of the college football playoff. Yeah, I think that what a season like this does for college football in general, Is it act with it being so condensed and somebody places it acts is a microcosm for what college football is now. I've always said the college football is all about momentum it every level on game day. You can see games kind of turn based on momentum and recruiting is all about momentum. And right now, there are three programs in college football that have seemingly unstoppable momentum and everybody else is just trying to catch up. And so with with a season like this light works your point, it was hard to find four teams that really deserve to begin. And it's because the reason is the reason for that is There are only three teams that had the built in Mo Mentum toe. Look this good in a season like this. What you're saying makes a lot of sense. I always felt like Ohio State got somewhat overlooked and somewhat undervalued because the big 10 started so late where I just tried to apply common sense with Ohio State. This entire year that if this was a normal year, Ohio State would have been a 10 in 1, 11 and no team and I would have thought the exact same so I don't want to penalize Ohio State solely based off the incompetence of their conference. Yeah, but I mean, that's kind of the point that I'm trying to get. Isn't it like a zoo? Beginning of this year when we talked about College football in.

"Well, thank you very much. I have two questions one. Like what position are you watching for the Alabama crimson tide? Eight game. I'm pretty interested in the in in the defensive side of the ball. I wanna especially at defensive back the year, sir. My second question is like what is the rules committee during for like these quarterbacks in college because I've seen the last few games a couple of defensive players going for tool it needs. While he was in the pocket. So like are they going to do anything about that? Because I know in the NFL like you can't go for quarterback sneeze there. There is an exploratory committee going on about targeting, but I. I would be surprised if they clean that mess up. You're absolutely right. That was absurd last year. What was going on? Yes, sir. I wanted to leave you with a joke. If you don't mind, Mr Paul, no, I'm all I'm already to laugh. All right. What the best thing about dating a girl from Auburn? You know? I don't know. But and and I think under the circumstances. I'll just have to wait to find out. Jim is up next in Louisiana. Hey, Jim, go right ahead. I. Learned to know. LSU basketball. There's not an top pain. Well, Jim, I got good news for you. They are in the latest poll at the number ten position. Wow. Are like in the top. Well, I think part of the reason is they have four losses. Okay. Play shady. Okay. Go. Have we can answer that. I thought that was a tough question. But they can be in the top. They can make the final four with. Four wins in the NC, double a basketball term. Thanks for the call. Jacob is in Pensacola, you're on the air. Go right ahead. Hey, how you doing? Okay. Great to hear from you. I two questions first question. How how much does he KYW lights dogfather he bombed that combine like he did? I'm sorry. Jake about your first part of the question. I lost. So would you mind asking asking it again? Yeah. How far does detect light fall after he bombed the NFL combine like he did? You know? I don't know. I mean, the the combine is is important. I don't think it's as important as certain pro days. So. It's a negative. But it's not the end of the world. Same question is wholly failed so running his forty. No, he just he just finished a minute ago. I appreciate it. That was funny. I have to give it to you. Let's continue Ellen in South Carolina, Ellen go right ahead. Yes, Paul Anka, taking my call. Thank you. I'm a big Clinton fan here. "He has making right now are on a short term plan. You got a lot of flack for that. Oh, yeah. Did. But I'm standing by what I said on that Paul. I know that Alabama fans weren't happy about that. And it's not my intention to anger them on purpose. That's not what I'm trying to do. But I do think first of all it's just basic math. He's not gonna coach for a hundred years. I mean, his career is gonna come to an end in some point. And I think that is likely to be sooner rather than later, and I do think when you look at the comparison of not just curbs at Georgia, you could even pick somebody like, JIMBO Fisher. And Emmer, you know, a lot of places on the SEC. I do they look at other schools and say the potential of just more long-term possibilities and long range planning Alabama is the top programme the SEC in among the very top programs in college football, but it's not gonna last forever. And I think the infallible and saving in particular comes sooner rather than later. Always great to have you on Brandon, many many things talk to you soon. Greater discuss. What do you think is a much? You're listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. Let's hear from what Nick Sabin had to say earlier today time now to welcome in the head coach of the Alabama crimson tide. Coach of the number one class in the country yet again, say joining us now and coach you go back a year, and there were many that love the Alabama program that might have been a bit concerned because of a national ranking signed to a recruiting class for whatever that's worth. But here we are celebrating another number one class. What are you most prideful about with this group? Well, I think you know, a lot of people did a lot of hard work in this our coaching staff that have an outstanding job of doing a valuating players early on developing relationships with these players, and we were very fortunate to be able to get, you know, really strong class again this year, and really satisfy a lot of needs that we have on our football team. I think our team sorta turns over little quicker with guys going out for the draft. So that creates a lot of opportunities for guys earlier. On. And I think player see that. And they've see the number of young players that we've been able to play here, and that's in Tyson to him. But the program here is all about helping guys be more successful in life. And you know, we put a lot into personal development academic support career development as well as trying to develop a good football players. So we're trying to create value for players, and I think that's workforce in the past. And I think a lot of players see that history. Coach, you know, we've now have a year of this new recruiting process with the early signing period. How have you had to adjust through process specially having to worry about college football playoff games national championships while trying to deal with an early signing period. And how also does it change your game plans for dealing with twenty twenty one twenty two classes successive classes down the line? There's no question about the fact that it's celebrated, you know, the timetable for recruiting we have to make decisions on players earlier, which is difficult because football was. Developmental game. So the late bloomer probably is a little bit of disadvantage with this system..

"Nick save. In this phenomenon is one of the all time greats in some people's is the all time great, we get that. And there's nothing to dismiss or poo about the Alabama crimson tide. But when you look at clemson's program, I think the biggest thing is that a guy like Justin Ross left Alabama to comment play for your program. What do you think that says not just about you? But what's going on at Clemson? Because you've got a lot of kids out there that are looking at Clemson differently. Yeah. No doubt. I mean, we think we guys this this year this classroom. I think fourteen different states. So I mean, we've we've gone to Pennsylvania and got the top player in the state. We got the top receiver out of California this year Josephine God of the top receiver out of Florida. Frank lanston. I mean, we'd gone all over and but getting Justin Ross last year was was huge for us. I mean Trevor Lawrence last year out of Georgia number one player in the country. So, you know, we we we. Recruit guys that we think, you know, fit our culture, and and we're transparent because I won't go to know what they're getting into when they come in here. What the expect -tations on? It's just really cool to see young people that are just great great football players and how they recruit and all that. But yet they still they they walk family. They won't disciplined they won't structure, they want accountability. And and you know, that's not that doesn't mean that that's not a lot of other schools have the same things. But it's just really cool that our brand has grown to that point. And guys know what we're all about. And you know, for young man like him to to want to come and be a part of it. But he knows that we're explosive on offense. He knew that he would be able to come in here. And I have a chance to to grow and mature with Trevor lords along the way, and he came in here and got behind T Higgins, you know, he had he's the second freshman I've had to have a thousand yards the Sammy Watkins, and and he was a backup. You know? He backed up t- Higgins most of the year and. And then as the year went on we kinda had different packages where we got them both on the field at the same time. But he's an amazing talent. Those catches that you saw the night. You know, that's like just, you know, another day at practice for what we see around here. And he's a great kid with a tremendous work ethic. So much fun to coach. And man is they're going to be fun to to work with that guy for a couple more years does a couple more questions for the great one dabbles. We need a coach at a rainy defending national champion. Clemson Tigers right here with Steven. He has PIN radio ESPN news. I want to transition because I want to get your perspective not about these players, but about player accountability. And some of the things that young guys out there need to recognize if you're going to come and play collegiate sports you had a Dexter Lawrence. You had zag laying Brandon Galloway they got suspended because the national championship game because of some failed drug tests with some muscle growth supplements, or whatever the case may be but most of them have forget about those guys for a second. You are. A coach going into kids home talking to their parents, their family members, etc. Etc. Because of how things have changed from a societal perspective. Even from the business of the NC, double A, how individuals players programs, etc. Held accountable. What show message to kids that want to come and play collegiate sports that they really really need to know, and the grass if they're going to succeed at this level and keep their head above water is what are some of the minefields. You think they need to watch out for coach? First of all, there's no entitlement. You know, we we we live in this world now, especially with a lot of young people. They get armed with this entitlement. Whether comes from, you know, outside people in their life, or whatever or the recruiting process. You know, listen, there's no elevator to success. You know, you gotta take the steps period..

"Thirty an answer points on Saint Nick's knee fence that is eight Nick strikes again that's eight eight eight Nick thirty straight. Why disc? That's that's big twelve bad. Why would you why don't you learning Ernie straight points? Well, let's take two games in a row because my Sooners once they got on tracked in the second half. If we take the second half of the Oklahoma semi-final game and all four quarters of the championship game eight Knicks defense got outscored sixty eight to thirty. That's the score of those those six quarters it sixty eight to thirty opponent over coach savings Alabama crimson tide. Horrendously bad. That's sixty county Oklahoma right now, and we have to glossed over this part, but we have to take coach Sabin to task because he got pretty crazy desperate in the third quarter because they came out and drove the football. They won fifty one yards on twelve plays. And that looked like it was starting to click a little bit. But then they finally got stymied. They're down thirty one to sixteen which was the halftime score and its fourth and six from the Clemson twenty two yard line six yards. You gotta make and all of a sudden coach Sabin attempts to run the dumbest fake field goal. I've ever seen in all my years watching football because I don't understand the concept of it. Because he snaps it to the holder who's actually the third string quarterback named. What's his name Mack Jones? Yeah. So it's two MAC Jones who just stands up and runs forward with the kicker as his lead. The kicker is your lead blocker really and rescue. Feel go faith. Okay. They expect. We'll sewed the Kirk herbstreit expected. Well, they could run a fake here. But it six yards. It's not fourth and to write worth in one or fourth and inches. But you know, what happens? No idea because his field goal kicking his kicker, Mr.. I got that. It's just the concept is so simplistic that I'm saying that's gonna have a hard time working because how many times has the immortal what's his name. Matt jones. I don't know much about Mack Jones. But how many times does he run with the football in a football game? I don't guess he ever had and definitely not up the middle. So so it gets blown up for whatever minus two and that was pretty much the football game at that point. Because then you're like, what am I ask you about Twitter time if you're going to run go for it on fourth and six why not keep doing the game? Okay. I got you. That's fine. I I'm with that. And they'd already gone for it on four down. I think three preview and made it, but unless you from ski, okay, then let's you know, right there that coach Saban was coaching this game desperate because he saw the way his defense was playing that the likelihood of him getting a stop. So he needed to stay as close as possibly could. Okay. And then it was classic Nick Sabin after the game. Because he he did quote unquote, take responsibility for the fake field goal. But this is how he took it. He said we thought we had a really really good fake. Okay. And somebody didn't block a guy they were supposed to block. And so it didn't work. So it was a bad call. It's always that way. It's my fault. If it okay tell you responsible ownership. There's this one lack of ownership line. Somebody didn't block guy they were supposed to block. So Nick is saying don't blame me. Yeah. I called it. But our guy screwed it up. Somebody didn't. Lock who they were supposed to him within the backfield. A lot of people must have forgotten block. Just not somebody somebody's I think somebody at a bad concept on. Which brings me back to the Clemson Tigers. And to a young quarterback who I tweeted after the Notre Dame game. I said this is the next great quarterback. And he is going to be because he is six feet six inches tall. And he is athletic as we saw near the end of the game. Because he started running with the ball, and he's got some toughness to him. And he's got a little bit of elusive ity about him. And he has effortless velocity. I'm not saying, it's the quickest release I've ever seen, and I'm not saying, it's the strongest arm, but but it comes out with some mustard on it..

"Of twenty five nine thousand nine hundred twenty four some about two twenty. I don't even care if he throws it touchdown as long as he doesn't throw pick. You turn the ball over in this game in this game, which is different for the bears because the bears inexperienced when it comes to the playoffs playing at home that low is going to be tough to deal with the in dishes soldier feel best fan bait wanted to best fan bases. You will find. But the eagles are battle-tested. They're coming off a season where they won the Super Bowl. They understand the speed of the game of the intensity. And so the first quarter will be one to watch due to bears continue to play fast and aggressive like Matt Nagy has done or did it can ease into the fight. Yeah. The eagles know how the physicality and toughness and urges. He kinda picks up will the bears be ready for that kind of fistfight. Here's my one match up to watch in this one. We broke it down on NFL playbook Wednesday on NFL network. All Sean Jeffrey has come alive sin. Nick foles has come back into the lineup week fifteen against the Rams was his best game this season. One hundred sixty arts had his best his best three game stretch of catch percentage, which means catches on targets of any three-game stretch. He's had this season. He is a bigger part of the past game anymore. -ffective part of the past game with Nick foles a quarterback in this is his first game back in Chicago since leaving the bear. So that's that's one to watch for me and Ken the bears secondary matchup with him. Because even when he's covered. He's open. He's up. There you go. All right. That's a look at our wildcard round games on Sunday. Now time for our conversation with the voice of the Alabama crimson tide. John Parker Wilson. Are John Parker? So glad to have you here with us, man. You know, what a great career you had from two thousand five two thousand eight as a quarterback for Alabama spent two seasons with Nick Sabin as your head coach. And now your first season as the color voice of the crimson tide. How cool has this year been for you get to be on the call for these games so hard it's going pretty good thirteen though. Coach Shaibu was nice enough. Lemme come back and do this after playing for him for two years. So I tell you what I had no idea I've never called a game before this year. But it's been so fun to get in there. Kind of pre-game is just like go down to play for a game. Does butterflies right before the kickoff. It's been it's been a good learning experience and try to get everybody just like playing ball in thinking about that. Because you do have a unique perspective heaven played for the head coach. And there you sit in the booth, and you're able to watch this team kind of washed Evelyn of the quarterbacks how much has he changed in terms of the way that he manages his offense. From the time that you play for them to the time that you re enter the press box to watch him up top. So it's it's been kind of completely night and day when I was playing we were still doing seven step drops play action to the fullback, two tight end sets. There's not even a full back on scholarship anymore. So it's changed. But to be awfully I think that's one of the things that's makes coach saving so special. And unique that he's not scared to adapt. He's not scared to change especially on offense dating back to lane kiffin. And now Mike Loxley what he's been able to do. I mean, I wish we had these RPO's like they do now back when I was playing. I bet you do, you know, it's kind of I I like what you what you mentioned there about coach Sabin 'cause listening to a lot of the things that he says complacency creates a blatant disregard for doing what's best. So even when you find the ultimate success. How do you get better at it than next year? How would you describe his pursuit of better of improvement? It's relentless. I it really is from the second. They won the national championship last shooter to now getting ready for this one. It's three hundred sixty five days a year..

Marty Smith's Analysis: Does Alabama's Crimson Tide have any real competition?

"Alabama crimson tide mardi like, ooh. Yeah. Nobody's honest to God. We've been talking about this around here their second team led by Jalen hurts is that is that the best competition that they would have if they played in the national championship game against their second team with Jalen Hurd. No, no Clinton's good, man. Not only is Clinton good. They're really starting to figure it out. Trevor Lawrence is he's a bona fide scholar now at quarterback their defenses elite. They look very complete to me now and only in the last couple of weeks have they look back complete. Notre Dame looked very good. The other night. I was here Yankee Stadium. But at this point, I still believe it's Alabama everybody else from a lot of different perspectives. Their death is unbelievable. To he's going to run away with the Heisman Trophy and their physicality. So I think that I think that Alabama. If they don't show up unprepared, which I don't expect and they don't suffer some sort of catastrophic injury. I think I think they're going to win it in convincingly. But Clinton is good guys.

College football power rankings: Can anyone challenge Alabama Crimson Tide?

"Which looks like the only real competitor to a college football playoff berth for the Alabama crimson tide well, and what a huge credit to Jalen hurts. I mean, we were talking about this off air the this is the stark contrast Jalen hurts choosing to stay with Alabama and now potentially coming in and being that guy that bridges the gap to the college football, playoff, Alabama. The exact opposite happens for Clemson. When when Trevor Lawrence goes down and Bryce Bryce petty, Bryce not not a placement, right? Chase Bryce. Yeah. Yeah, he played chased by. You sounds like he's getting ready to put out a great album in Nashville next, right? You look at what you know, it's a no question. Yeah, you put Jalen hurts in that game. Tennessee, and it's still a dominant win for Alabama. It's not even get by, but if Jalen hurts would have gone away from an and transferred out of Alabama. I don't even know who the third string quarterback is. I'm sure he's a five star probably. But the reality is it puts them much more in the driver seat to let to come back strong that following week getting knocked down the football field makes you tough. But getting back up makes you tougher at Goodyear. We call that determination a willingness to put in more hours more reps and more of heart to reach a bar that's sky high because the Goodyear blimp doesn't show up for just anybody. So don't be just anybody would be blimp worthy. Good. Hear more driven.

"Y'all been for her cbs sports radio so i was reading the story to the national champion winning quarterback of alabama he replaced jalen hurts who had one or two losses in his career in alabama in the national championship game ended up during that walk off touchdown pass so that's such a story and if he didn't play that national championship game he was probably going to transfer he was and that's just so one of those stories that now this guy is gonna probably be the starting quarterback this upcoming year i think i saw paul finebaum rank him as the second best quarterback in the nation and to was close to transferring if he did not play in that national championship game so i was reading this is on the hawaii news now to quote i call my dad and asked him if my offer to the university of southern california was still available that's what he told the crowd is he was speaking to seventh and eighth graders so nice gesture by him he said i wanted to leave i told my dad i wanted to go to school where i thought it'd be easier for me and wouldn't challenge me so much close quote that's a good guy talking to the kids seventh and eighth grade saying how is considering to go take the easier route and he wanted to take the easy way out some that were to challenge him so much because alabama they went all the time has to be a challenging program to play for nick sabin just like ballot check in you know if you wanna play for the patriots so he ends up going national championship game and he seems like a good guy he really does and i like the way that and so does hertz actually the hurts and to handle that situation hurts was cheering him on and the national championship game even though he was the starter all year and then tweeted out this was on january eleventh tired of people not appreciating the fact that this man lead us to the national championship game it's a picture of two and hurts hugging and for all the fans that are against jalen you're against me to either with us or against us love you to go hashtag big bro little bro at jalen hurts that's pretty neat now when it comes to this.

Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban not bothered by QB Jalen Hurts' struggles in spring game

"The alabama starting quarterback position that seems to be all anybody wants to talk about it started a couple of weeks ago when she were tongue of a hurt his throwing hand and i guess it was just like one of those things he was in practice and he was throwing passed and he hit on the helmet and then he was out for the rest of the spring and now there's been this big debate on jalen hurts to talk about oh who's going to be the starting quarterback for people that don't know the story jalen hurts has been a starting quarterback the last two years at alabama and then to replace him in the national title game at half time and got the offense jumpstarted they ended up putting the national title in beating georgia hence the master quarterback controversy right now typically you wouldn't have that with the due to your starting quarterback got the team at the national title two years in a row by this is allah bama it's a freak show and it's a freak show for a good reason because they're just loaded and sick it every single position i call them the the the other nfl team right because to me they operate like nfl franchise but it's really been about the quarterback spot who's gonna be their quarterback jalen hurts or two and whoever wins the job is the other guy gonna leave and if he dies lead he's going to be eligible right away to it wouldn't be able to jalen might be able to to get his coursework finished on time but that's that's the big thing right now is just gonna play quarterback at alabama well you know what show pony has been a pleasure let's do this again because i've been a fan of your show for a while so i love to be able to have you back on talking some socks baseball endeavors some college football let's do it man i'm a fan of yours too so i was really excited without thank you so much man thanks for coming on the show thank you it is chris childers he's a show pony he's part of sirius xm channel eighty four that's espn you where they talk college sports and he's part of full ride that show with new.

"Teams with a by i kind of look at ucla 's resume and honestly it looks maybe not airtight but it doesn't even look like we should be questioning the bruins i can't say that about u s c but they did pick up a win against oregon state they've got oregon up next and the pac 12 tournament right now joe already has the trojans as having one of the last four byes and maybe the most thrilling finish of the day in college basketball yesterday was turned in by alabama with stirring seventy one seventy win over texas anm collins sexton maybe the least heralded really good player in college basketball with the game winning bucket that might have put the crimson tide in the incidentally tournament an underwhelming record it just eighteen in fourteen but jolan already has the crimson tide as one of the last four in and missouri jolan already has them solidly in the incidentally tournament as an eight seed the tigers lost to georgia in the sec tournament by two points but the headliner there is they got freshman michael porter jr back that significant because fina goes to colombia was only going to play for one year and is a turned out in the regular season he played a whopping two minutes and seven seconds he came back yesterday he was okay he showed some rust he didn't show a lot of bounce he didn't start the game he came in about three minutes in he got a really nice ovation and you saw flashes you didn't see a lot he finished with twelve points in just five of seventeen shooting espn college basketball analysts tom cream gave an evaluation of porter jr is performance i could resolve anxiety nervousness excitement for him to to keep a straight face for that crowds tear informed makes you want to cry when you see that kind of response bottom line is he rushed them shots is timing was off he took too many challenge shot since out of the game but the problem is out of the game to jordan bar met makes one shot kassius robertson who has been fantastic did not have a good game at all and i don't think the ball moved nearly as well is.
