"More than four a game. Indiana for all intensive purposes, is even in rebounds on the season, and so far, Ohio State has a 7 to 3 edge in rebounds, led by Justice suing He's got four They have three offensive rebounds and four points off those second chance opportunities. So how state getting an opportunity to put the ball back in the basket? And as you mentioned before we went to break their? They turned their defense up there taking care of the defensive back board. They got a seven overrun going right now. So we'll see what Indiana does coming out of this time out. My guess is they might want to get trace. Jackson Davis involved. He's still scoreless. Lose your basketball onto the time out of the end of our left. And Al Durham bounces it into trace. Jackson Davis Black left, pivot 3 60 shoots played by Go. He missed it right at the rim cleared by EJ Liddell in the Buckeyes. You're leading 96 as we approach the 14 minute mark. In the first half. So Ohio State at the end of our right on the seven All run trying to build here is Finnessey or Excuse me. Arms gives it up up top arms. He's got a lot of length. Feed it inside, twisting, shooting the right hook. No good there and a foul called said Key is first off the bench for the Buckeyes. He missed the shot. A whistle here stops playing exactly 14 minutes to go in the first half. It will stay with the Buckeyes of the into our right. S so effectively another offensive rebounds. So the rebounding margin down 93 as there was a tie up with the arrow favorite. The Buckeyes, no foul stand corrected. Oh, slinking around in a drive by Washington into the lane draws a blocking foul as he approached the rim. Like what you said earlier about Dwayne Washington junior out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who has been red hot here of late shooting nearly 50% from the field that there's more to that than just the scoring. Yeah, I mean, he's the thing is 88% from the free throw line. He's made a three in his last 24 games at least 13 every in every game this season and going back to four last year. You could see you could put it to the deck and get to the free throw line and he's he gives them.

"Battling underneath the boards, causing Greg Brown to Fallon that second chance opportunity for Indiana's huge first file on Great Brown. I thought it was a second. That's his first. Now the inbound comes to trade Galloway on the right baseline. He brings it out of the wing that dribbles. It kicks it away to rob Tennessee. Tennessee brings it back to the left. He fires up a jump shot and missed it as trade. Galloway tried to save it and did so Is he back? Off abroad, cutting AB and it went out of bounds. Great. That's just great awareness by trade, gal awareness and effort. That play doesn't happen if Trey Galloway's and crashing the boards out from the wing, and he's one of the few guards for Indiana that almost every single time the ball goes up, he's crashing. Try to get an offensive rebound. Inbound comes to trace Jackson Davis gives to land or another foot jump shot, missed again. Rebound taken by Cunningham down the floor in a hurry to Andrew Jones, and he lays it in And Andrew Jones gets his first two of the game. 10 6, Texas here early 10 45 on the clock here in the first half race, Thompson with the basketball out of the perimeter, he gives it left to finish the download to trace Jackson, Davis and Trace gets called for traveling violation and trace getting on a little bit too fast. I don't think you have to put the ball on the floor the absolute second that you touch it. He is talented enough. He could catch it square up first. Take his time. Look up at the room, see with the defense's then make a move. Playing a little bit too fast. Once you catch the ball, Indiana with four turnovers, taxes with five now with the basketball Matt Coleman on the dribble against finishing and lost the hammer. Got it back Now Coleman drives it to the right dumps it in this Jericho, Jericho. Simms, who misses the alley of Doug, and there's a slide on the floor, whistle blows. And what do we have here? Cunningham was the guy was on the deck. I think there's a foul called against Texas. Yeah, Indiana fortunate that Simms was wide open underneath the basket there, and if the past is just a halfway decent past, that's an easy dunk for two Indiana get a little bit confused with the communication defensively. And the biggest guy in the courts. Simms at 6 Ft. 10 wide open on a threat to files on Simms. However, he goes to the sideline and Royce Ham comes back in the game for Texas. He's 69 so they don't lose much size there. And now with the ball is Al Durham, He'll bring it up as Durham comes back in for IU now gets it across the timeline passes it off to broad fantasy fantasy. Trying to work slides.

"Utility smart make the right choice and know what's below well hostages held their opponents to sixty just over sixty five points per game play really good guy fence there. Big physical defense that plays with a lot of contacts basket and Caleb west. It's the biggest them all an Indiana has really struggled to score in the Tate early in this game. When he was four in the pays the defense to kind of key in on one area. And that's exactly what's happened to this. Indian offense hoosiers have really struggled. Get anything going still only five of nineteen from the field early in this game hoosiers have resorted to shooting threes because they can't the only two of eight but already eight three point attempts here early in this game for Indiana. Got the ball to start this series. As devante green has it takes it to the right side it outside the Justice Ruth whose return to the lineup of place of fantasy off to Al Durham Durham now slides it into the lane courses what I to go, and he's fouled on the plane. You gotta do that, Dan. You gotta drive the basket. They're taking away doi- Morgan on the post as a guard. You got to attack the rim. You can do that score that's gonna make everybody else's life a lot easier. Nice move there by Albarn. Called on Ohio State as Durham goes to the free throw line. A free one by allies around rounded, and he makes a three point play out of L door gets this first watching a ballgame. The Anna has cut that lead that Baghdad to just two for Ohio State. Here's Keyshawn woods throws out to move. Mussa Jallow who's back for Ohio State Seattle Muhammed off, right? It comes to woods now on the right side to operate Watson. Back out of comes to Muhammad fares. It off the woods on the left work. He tries to work pulls up. Fires up. A what had hit it as to? What was on? But nevertheless, he shot woods. Having a nice start to this ball game. He's got his sex. Boy, here's the data Al Durham, he raise it back outside. Throws it back left. The devante take green takes it to the top of the key with the dribble pulls up little fourteen footer is off the rim. No, go to the Reebok comes the jello. He clears the worst back comes Ohio State, Indiana shooting very poli- in this ball game. Well, under thirty percent down inside a Caleb Washington. Throws up a shot off the glass right back into his hands. Lost the handle let us kicked out of bounds. And it's awful. But Caleb busted, Indiana. We'll have a ball. Nice job by Justin Smith. I tell you what Indiana is a bit slow with that double team. I'm surprised to see that. They're not keying in more on Caleb west, and he's been able to catch the ball really close to the basket. And no double team has been there acting Indiana lucky that time that western wasn't able to draw foul for score around the rim. Fitoussi comes in for devante grade. Rubio lacquers Roberts. Here's rob Fitoussi giving it off the Romeo. He brings it outdoor. Midcourt then breaks it back to the right side rebels back to the left. There's it back. The Justice Smith, you'll go a three t ribs it high off the board and a foul called down inside. I think this is gonna be against Ohio State, Dan, Andrei Washington gets mailed out of the ad is far wrapped around Joon mortgage. I think they gave it to Jallow there. Yeah, you're right. They did give it to boost Ajao mismatch underneath the basket. Jealous given up about three inches there. Don and sometimes as a guard, and I learned this at an early age. It's better just to hold on for dear life and hope the official doesn't call it. And that's exactly what happened with Jolla. They're looking at the monitor. So I would assume that that means they're checking to see if that's a hooking call sometimes becomes an intentional or they now call it a flagrant one. Yeah. And that's a new rule that's been put into place this year to really kinda disincentivize those guards from doing that or anybody for that back owning on with your arms. It's supposed to protect against injury. I don't remember seeing a lot of injuries that way by home somebody's arm down. But at the same time, it's the new all these players have got to understand. And it's very possible there that Giao kinda got the hook hooking hold going on Jon Morgan to keep from getting that offense rebound bands ever wonder what the most comfortable? Billow feels like go to mypillow dot com, click on the four pack special that ever promo code hoosiers to find out you'll get two premium pillows and two go anywhere pillows for fifty percents off when you use promo code hoosiers. Probably officials are still looking at the tape here. And now what officials steps away or they bring in the other official. So they got to confirm everything, right? That's what makes this really tough. Call a lot of times you got guys tangled up here. And if you gotta have multiple rafts go up to the replay because you're not sure on whether or not something should be an intentional one. Because you're not sure if it's truly a hawk. I mean, it's it's so subjective there on.

"Were gonna do. And they're doing the same thing today on our junior is a really impressive freshman, but that time Romeo faked the hand off Indian has been run a lot of dribble. Handoff a little fake that time drive to the basket. Got a little bit of daylight gonna hoop. I file out Harper in this ball game. Is Rubio's free throw is good. And he's got his third white. And you'll have a second attempt coming your mortgage to check in race Trump's at a garage Davis. Sit down Justin Smith aboard and come in. And the crowd goes both those guys are fake hair. Pretty active crowd today for no students being here. Really good. Zack Roberts getting set to check in as Romeo. Fires up the second toss. And he probably has got his fourth one of the ball games. Zach Roberts will give Lankford restless. Well as Archie continues to lose a lot of venture early today. Everybody wanted to get a piece of this action here across the timeline comes breaker GIO Baker gives left side of Montas Matthew succumbs outside with a pastor. Johnson. Johnson the Harper Harper cut off looking right throws it left to olma ROY. He gets download a Baker on the left side and Baker gives to me. We'll try to work his way at against Al d'oro. That's a mismatch inside. Here's a little job book and Marie stores. They break the tide a little bit for Rutgers. There is it's twenty seven to thirteen now Indiana outside Al Durham, Zach Roberts mcroberts takes it with the dribble to the left and back right with a past the Justin Smith right back this driving. It left is Justin to give to the green. And tried to throw it inside. That was a bad pass and Jawad could come up with it. Here's mathis. The other way throws it up and Mr.. Got the rebound. But we got a foul down low against I you oughta appears good also buys academic Roberts getting back defensively. Rutgers had numbers two on one versus Nick Roberts. But he did a nice job contesting that layups four scheme. The scarlet knights to miss that one. But I agree as Google pushing the back by Justice myth as he was hustling back. I bet in Bamako from Baker gets it into all me now hands it off. The Baker Baker gives it back outside the Johnson miles Johnson a given go to Harper inside. And he tries to force it up does and scores. The basket there's another foul called Justice madness may have picked up his second. Zach beat on a back cut there by Ron Harper junior. Harper juniors not only a three point shooter. He's got a big body. And that was a nice back is able to no one power dribble underneath ram and finish. On the other side for the one. That's a big time. Play here for Rutgers ruckus is not gonna just go away on there to keep fighting here in Indiana has got to be. Prepared to play a full forty minutes. Absolutely. Here is the free throw by Harper and missed in the rebound comes the mortar. John it up. The devante Greenhill. Bring it up the floor. Devante gets it across the timeline. Green. Looks left matches it off to Al Durham Durham holds against Mathis gets a screen works to the right clears it off the devante great. He brings it back to the left. He pulls up. Throws it out the Juwan. Now, we got a whistle away from the basketball and this fouls called against Rutgers. Let's Seon hoop and they nail you Gino Marui with his first again. Geron Davis trying to roll to the basket tell you what it is physical in this league. Especially inside the paint a lot of body contacts. A lot of pushing and shoving that time. Doron Davis draws the foul as he's rolling to the rim, and he'll go to the line for a one on one with two points to his credit and now three. The Ron Davis getting better at the free throw line. He's sixty percent of the season. He was well under that early on. And of course, there was so much time. But he best because of his injuries and the second one is on its way. Good. And I'm sure during that injury problem Matic area, he was workout his free gross. And he makes them both this time at twenty nine fifteen. I you here's Baker outside of miles. Johnson Johnson one dribble batches to heartburn given go and he throws it up on the left hand missed it got his own rebound. Put it in harbor gets his sex point of the ballgame. Twenty nine seventeen. Indiana still on top significantly. Here's devante he'll fire up a twelve footer at goes way off the back of the backboard. But there was a foul called. Has been so good as Indiana's warm these last three games devante along with Ron Davis. Coming off the bench is really provided that offensive Barker energy off the bench, brandy, Indiana..

"Holman because obviously you wanna hit at least one. He does. All right. First part of the ball game belongs to Indiana. Jelly stern will bring it up. He had a terrific game against Indiana in the first batch up at west Lafayette. Here's I for top of the key rebels left side gives the client. He weaves it back out front, bats left. I pretty fakes the three kicks out to climb for a long would be missed it and the rebound tipped into the hands. Iraq Pederson brings it back. The other way across the timeline picked up by Edward slides it to the left side on the wing gives it up to Al Durham Durham breaks. It back out brought he crosses over to Raleigh on the white wing Lankford slides it lost the ball. No Easter picks. It up drives at the other way lays it up and missed it. But Carson data versus there to get the rebound and put it back here. Show Edwards makes it up to one Purdue was on top by one now venison bringeth back down the floor. Gets it across the stripe takes it. Right. Hands off the Romeo. He weaves it back out the pitches. Back left to finish the on the way to see takes it to the top slides. It back off the road down into the rock Davis. Double team throws it outside. The robot way. Swing left side. It comes to Durham Joon on the baseline. He tried to throw it inside. That's picked off another turnover. Here's no jelly Sternkopf Edwards for a long three. And he missed a short and the rebound comes to July Morgan. Not a good shot by Carson Edwards. Here's Roby to the baseline cut off looks and in trouble. Finally throws it outside. And it comes at the hands of Morgan. He drives inside he got hacked the ball got loose. That's kicked away. Dharam comes up with Eddie pitches in Durham is hurt. Venice against the role Bill for a three off the rim. No rebound comes to Carson Edwards. Now back down the court cups to one ballgame early harms give back to Edwards who drives left kicks it inside the harms got away with a travel and hook shot in for his first two of the game. So now is four to one. Fantasy brings it up. Again Edwards on him. Rob across the time line moves to the lab gives it back right to Doron Davis. Davis now the dribble. Handoff to Al Durham bureau back to finish the left wing. He gets a downloaded around Davis who faces harms back double team comes from my first he gets it outside the Durham, he drives underneath he throws up a runner bed won't go. The rebound tipped in. The hands applied Ryan comes with the basketball. Brings it across the stripe flying has it drives left into the corner. To back outside of comes to Edwards. Edwards drives pulls up another three on the way off the Mark badly. And the rebound comes off to the Ron Davis. He feeds rob brings it back for Indiana. Four one store Purdue on Tom to the top feeds Davis who can't find the handle. And Indiana turns at over already the hoosiers with three turnovers. Edwards would've basketball once again. Passes it outside the Joel no jelly stern in eastern holds and gives back Edwards. He gives it to climb climb gives it the harms high post right side. And he throws it out of bounds. So a turnover for Purdue and Indiana gets another chair unforced turn over Indiana fantastic. This offense Don is really struggled to score. They gotta work offense through the low, first and foremost, you got to be able to play out of a double team Purdue is bringing a double team on the low block each and every possession. Indiana has not gotten an open. Look when produced brought that double team you've got to be able to pass out of that. And find the open man norm has the ball on the left side radii for sat down and Erin wheelers checked in for Purdue here's Doron. Davis dribbles. A couple of times gives the Durham kicks in the corner to see for a three got it. Betsy drills a trade at times ball game four and that is very sixteen zero three on the clock here in the first half. Now. No jelly stern against Roby. Arafat's past comes to Adwork's Edwards with the ball. Topic key Pasco's DuPree beyond Williams's. Also, check did not a Klein for three he missed it. And John Morton comes up with the rebound Morgan brings it back down the court Morgan slides it out to Romeo. Langford rise inside throws it up off the glass won't go. And the rebound comes off to Wheeler down the Florida eastern eastern slows down because John Morton's me throws out to Edwards Edwards now. Top of the line. Dotson inside a trae beyond Williams Williams tries to battle against Iran. Davis down low turns around throws up a shot. It won't go and the rebound cups. Dow dora. Indiana had good defense for Davis that time here's Dora driving left based on an eastbound. I think that every time anytime fine is matched up. You gotta take him one on one drive to the basket. He slower footed foul Durham can take advantage of that mismatch to create opportunities. I we have time out on the floor Indiana for the Purdue Boilermakers forward. Fifteen fourteen on the clock. And we'll be back.

"With it off to Al Durham for three. And he knocks a bad, but they're going to say it was a two stepping on the line. So Durham has his knife point eighty four to sixty four left, but it's all over, but the shouting here in Minneapolis the past comes right side to Rudd road. He throws it outside to hurt. Burt gives it to stall stall, very good three point shooter. Feeds heard on a given go play down inside both through the ball away. Demonte tips it away to the hands of Evan Pfitzner up the Florida Al Durham durables upper another three and he hits again and algorithm to threes or two shot longshots, I should say to because one was his fault was I'm alive, but he's got his twelve point. Eighty four sixty three and it looks even more respectable. Even though it's not gonna look that much to the average fan who looks at the store tomorrow morning back outside Rudd Roop off. It comes to a Mercer Mercer to stall stall. Now back to a Mercer drives inside and race blocked. His shot down low got his own rebound. Put it up or blocked him again. Or at least know call. Let's put it that way. But a nice job by race tops. And here's fits there for a three try. It's off the Mark. Hey, we're data one second. And that's the ballgame. Final score will read. Minnesota eighty four Indiana, sixty three is the hoosiers drop another here today, the thirteen and twelve four and ten and big ten and the frustration for this who's your day should continues as this Indiana basketball team gets clobbered here in Minneapolis, the Saturday, we will come back with the community cars.

"So much more effective. When multiple guys looked at the basket. Either driving kick or pray for them themselves. Rob fantasies sitting on the bench. Right. How quick time out by coach Archie Miller. Rob on a couple of Asians. Back the ball out rather than shoot the basketball on the drive in slows down this Indian offense, bad turnovers and not being aggressive approach. Archie Miller is talking to them right now on the sideline guys have got to step up and make shop. They've got to drive the ball the basket right now, the CDN offense was very similar to the way that it has the last six games and they've been on this losers. Now. I guess it across the line. Jawad wargin high post right back the Justin Smith right side, down low into Jawad Morgan. Nice reverse follows cold, I guess before he took the shot. And the foul. Call will be Russia. Launched shack Dorsey. What you gotta do. You gotta get long drawn Morgan stuck on twenty nine points for several minutes here in the Anna knows kind of what they've gotta do. You. Gotta get the ball down to John Lennon, go to work. Nobody. I don't think from from Rutgers has the quickness to keep doin in front of them. Here's where I'll be oh gets the inbound to and the Justin now inside the Jon Morgan, he misses the shot, however and the ball out of bounds. Put it up on the ramp at somebody. I got a finger on it and stopped it from going in. So back cubs. Rutgers. They lead by four Indiana and another one of those modes where they can't make anything and they're allowing the other team to score. Here's Harper with it outside gives it up to dourson. He feeds GIO Baker. Baker stops to the top drives it right pulls up grows at back outside the Montas Mathis, unloaded dourson, he'd rebels and walks away from the basket, then looks down low, and it's stolen away by Joon mortgage. He tried to feed more weight and Joon comes up with the ball. Here's drives it inside a Joon on a fee down low and a traveling violation is called on Indiana. Diana is. Look in the past workers. Did a nice job. Sliding over the weeks. I take away that passing angle from Guam, but he had already made up his mind hesitated there and travel, but that's the play Indiana wasa pick and roll die for the basket. Just got to look to the ram try to use that will Bank shot Harper outside gives to Mathis Baptist Baxter the way gets Romeo peach geo Baker in the right? He takes it to the lane then gives it back out brought to Raleigh and they feed to Harper. Then back to road ROY on the baseline against Justin Smith be back. Man forces. What up go in July Morgan. I think they're going to say was. So roy. This part of the ball game. Now, it is thirty five to twenty nine. Has still not stored here in the second half of outscored six. Here's Al Durham Robey on the left Robbie brings it back out. Harper all over, but I do finally call the foul. Ron Harper picks up the personal. Royal lankford? Second foul the ball game. Harper. And Indiana's Anderson and baths to Al Durham. Durham between the circles. Slide slept with a pastor Rubio on the way, he breaks it to the top on the dribble goes back to embrace it back out to Robie. Oh, right. He goes to the baseline cards around and forces what up it's partially. Rod Harper comes away with it. Got the basketball. Jio baker. Dacre across the time line. Vouch pass Comstock Harper outside they wave at the Mathis. He finds. Miles Johnson is checked in to the lineup for dourson back. Harper for three hits off the bark. And the rebound comes the Justin Smith, he feeds Al Durham, he pushes it Durham takes all the way to the rack and the balls batted away out of bounds. It'll belong guy you on Indian has gotta do, Don. I mean, look so good in that first half. Get the ball out pushing it out and transition wasn't there. Backing it out this offense right now since we walk in the ball running their hat. I love that play by defensive rebound and pushed the ball make Rutgers ten play while they're backpedaling defensively. Indian IT can be the aggressor and pushed the ball transitioning this offense can look a lot different. But it's just been too slow here almost four four minutes worth of action Indiana's still stuck on twenty nine in. Bow Jon Morgan Morgan gifts to Rubio Lankford Langford. Hold onto it finds Durham on the right? You're I'm taking it to the wing of the baseline bachelor's it inside adjusted Smith this shots blocked. He hasn't got it. Taylor. Mccollum comes back the other way to jailbreak. Baker copper, the key gives to McConnell right KADO slides up to the way, then database line brings it back out front. Jack Carter with a pass he goes left. The Baker who drives it to the free throw lane had a west sort of foul called on L Durham. Excellent. Now that will be his second of the ball. "Free throw line is now with this Indiana defense needs and it's Jack Carter going to the strike. And all checking all how about this sack Roberts who? Not seeing tonight has come out on the floor. Roberts is on the floor. The wall for the first time we anticipated based on what Archie told us in our pre game that he might he probably would not play tonight. But apparently that toe or foot or whatever is feeling a little bit better. So my gravitas in the ball game free throws on its way by Carter. He missed it. And the rebound taken out of their buyback Roberts off the Rubio Langford now, Indiana brings it down the court Romeo's got the basketball between the circles starts to the right side. Looking for a screen gets it from cliff more than exit back to the top at left in the hands of mcroberts out to Justin spec. They I'll Durham Durham bulls up. Let's go an eighteen footer Dr. Al Durham hits a second field. The ball game is fourth. Boy, the extra work. He's done on shooting. The basketball is starting to pay off big time hip twenty-seven seventeen Indiana, ten point lead. Here is me down low throws up a shot more. They're shocked Carter. Get back home, but a dunk. Twenty seven nineteen Indiana Roberts throws it outside the Lanker Langford. Now dribbles to the right. Pulls up throws it out. The Justin Smith dot Roberts, mcroberts, drives it inside. And now, what are they called illegal screen on Justice, man? That's his third foul Attleboro Pfitzner alphabet. So three now. Justin smith. He's the first Hoosier from bladder to get three fouls on a silly reach and thirty feet from the basket. And then on a on a ball screen. We're Indian has got Zack mcroberts ball. Who's at good player? Dom banana guy that you expect? Wall Street for the top of the key and ham drive all the way to the basket. Just to fouls really unnecessary fouls. Justice midnight. He's going to be on the bench Zach saw sadness. Well, so both of them go to the bench. Now the pass down low to me he works on. Evan Pfitzner inside puts up a little job. Look at MRs rebound, dourson backup missed and now the battle for the rebound and Al Durham saves at the Robbi Alankar. And what are they gonna say stepped on the line to pass it any? That's exactly what Terry Weimer calls this. This is that we talked about in the pre game on this front court from the Rutgers scarlet knights is really starting to show here. That's the sixth offensive rebound for Rutgers here. They're getting a lot of second chance opportunities. That are keeping them in this ball game Indiana's up eight but Rutgers with a chance to cut into that lead some more and the bathroom Baker down into me. He was back to Baker Baker back. Home Marie throws up. A little ten photo. The short rebound out there. It'll be a long Indiana, baths out of bounds. Roy couldn't save it. So Evan will trigger the inbound pass. We are seeing different combinations than we've seen all year in this game for Indiana tonight. Here's rob Tennessee off the Al Durham left. We just got back in Durham drives right pulls up lays it up. Durham gives his six point of the ball game. As he continues to weave is way through traffic, and it is twenty nine nineteen Indiana by ten once again drive by geo Baker all the way scoops it up and nobody stopped him fister. Was the only guy you had a chance to be in that position. Twenty-one fister will let go a three off the rim. No good and that. Yup. And bounced out of bounds actually Mathis tried to save him from going out any bounce the ball back on the out of bounds line. So he was the last touching the edible habit when play resumed we're down to three thirty six left here in the first half. Indiana leads twenty nine.

"You're listening to the assembly call. We are wrapping up another week of talking basketball. I'm Jared Morrissey with Ryan Phillips sandy bottoms. We're about to answer your questions which you sent envious slack and Facebook and Twitter. We always appreciate it when you send these in. So let's go with Brandon's question. I Ryan and I'll send us an overview. He says, what a team full of Pro Bowl hoosiers have a shot at winning the depleted NBA Eastern Conference. And when I went through and did this quickly to me, the starting lineup would be Victor and Gordon the back court OG and Noah probably is the forwards, but then Cody Zeller at center. And then you've got a bench of Yogi Thomas Bryant, true Williams. And then I suppose you would also then wanna put some of the guys who are in summer league Christian watt for James Blackman, junior and Robert Johnson on there. I don't think I left anybody out number one. It's nice that Indiana can just fill out a roster with pro guys. So that's posits. How good would that squad be in the depleted eastern? I mean in the Eastern Conference, probably like a five seed. Unfortunately, I, I mean, that's the sad part. Not that those guys aren't great, but you know, there's no superstar there other than Victor and Eric Gordon is a, you know, he's a six man, I think, oh, jeez, good player. Noah von Lee, who knows because it really doesn't play that much. And then Cody, I think he needs a change of scenery, but that's a nice second unit with Yogi and Thomas there, I think, but with how bad these garments. Yes, this I still think Boston or Philadelphia's coming out, maybe Toronto, but probably Boston Philadelphia is coming out of the east, so I don't think they'd actually win the east. But when I go, the fifth seed roll the dice, see what happens. I like, okay, let's go with this question. Andy. This is from Jeff, and it's similar took question that we took last week but has a different spin on it. So Jeff says, super team seemed to be the big trend in the NBA. If you could take one or two players from other big ten rosters to make an UB super team, who would you take the clear obvious answers here are either Carson Edwards or caches Winston at point guard. And then of course you. Ethan, hap- as center, no snow. You don't just to watch the show burn as it would if that happened. No. Okay..

"Mr. I could certainly have see him taking downturn two minutes next year. And then as junior senior, having that pipe back up a little bit when certain players are gone. So we'll see. But I, I don't know, I get what you're saying about about wanting to have contributions that maybe don't show up in the stat line or in the box score. But I do think there are some differences there. Andy, you can. I, I. Well, you know what? I what I would say, I, I don't know that that's different than rioted. I'm not gonna say that you misled us, but I think I think this year becomes a really make or break probably putting it too strongly. But I do think if he is really a will to carve out a role on this team given the roster construction and some of those kinds of things. I think it really bodes well to to kind of break above that comparison that you made from a minute standpoint. I think if not. I, I think you can start to worry that dizzy start to get lost in the shuffle as you've got new guys coming in and different things that you're doing. So I think this year will be challenging year for him to get minutes for some. The reason we talked about before without really knowing what the lineups will look like and things like that. But I think if he's able to really carve out role on this year's team and be able to be a guy who you know, plays fifteen eighteen twenty minutes a game. I think that bodes really well for what he he can be. And I think he's able to shed that comparison and see those minutes continue to grow. If not, I think it becomes a little bit hard to project what he looks like going forward. Last year's fisker. Okay, I agree. And I should say, I hope he bust that comparison out of the water. I certainly hope he doesn't do with any of the injury issues, Derek Elston dealt with. I guess my point is, you know if maybe the worst case scenario comes for him in terms of playing and not playing as much as he wants. He strikes me as a guy with enough maturity and enough just love for being Hoosier and just. Team, I attitude that I think he'll be positive, no matter what. So I guess that's kind of the main point that I wanted to make the comparison, and we'll leave that here since it was clearly voted down. But I tried to. All right. Coming up. In our final segment, we will answer your questions which we always love to do. And this week, that includes an interesting one from Brandon who says, what a team full of pro ball hoosiers have shot at winning the depleted NBA Eastern Conference. We will analyze that more coming up next stick with..

"Morris with Andy bottoms and Ryan Phillips. We are finishing up our breakdown of durum. So I said that I had a comparison for how, and I think some of the comparisons in terms of how he plays. Those are pretty obvious. And we've talked about some of those before, you know, you can see a little bit of STAN Robinson in him. There's someone on Twitter that maybe he's a little bit like Remmy able and that's fine. Like all of those are fine comparisons. But as I was thinking about Allen preparation for this episode, one name kept kind of coming up and I was like, no, no, that's silly that can't be a real comparison, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense to me. So I wanna throw it out to you guys. And I know that in basketball you're not supposed to compare guys that are a different races and be guys that play different positions, but I'm going to do it anyway. And so the guy who kept coming to mind as I thought about how what he could contribute this year and kind of what his role can be in the program going forward. I thought a lot about Derek Elston and you know. You look at those two guys are the one was really highly ranked recruit. I'll was two hundred. Thirtieth Derek was one hundred thirty. Third, they both played good minutes. Freshman played forty, six point, five percent of the minutes. Derek played thirty seven point four percent of the minutes and they had some particular skills, alligood defender, good. Measurable for his position, you know, can attack off the dribble, that kind of thing. Derek was a good rebounder. Good defender, a good spot up shooter. What was interesting about Derek's career is you know he came in on that team. That wasn't very good. You know, with the recruiting class of Jordan holes and Christian Wofford and those guys played all those minutes and then his minutes decreased the rest of his time at you and he wasn't able to play on the the twenty thirteen team. But you talk to anybody that was around those teams and they talk about how important he was to rebuilding the culture of basketball. And now he's the director of player development under a coach. That isn't the guy who brought him to Indiana, but just a guy who loved being an Indiana Hoosier has continued to give his all to the program and is a really important member. Whose contributions, even when he was a player went way beyond what he did on the court. And I kind of think that's how could be, you know, he's a guy who just gobbled up his Indian offer when it came and has seemed just to love being a Hoosier ever since even though he's from Georgia isn't from Indiana, and I could see him being a guy as the talent goes up, who doesn't play as many minutes as he did as a freshman. But Andy, like you said, just like Elston did would come in and make big plays in big games. You know, winning plays that would help you win some of those important games. I could see owl being that guy being a steady ING influences younger, maybe more talented players come in, but a guy that shows you how Archie wants it done. That is kind of that bridge in terms of building the culture and hopefully once Archie gets built, he sustains it better than Tom crane did. But that's the name that kept coming to me as a guy who may be unheralded for what he does on the court. But who I think is really gonna mean a lot to the program terms of intangibles in terms of leadership, and because of..

"With Amy bottoms and Ryan Phillips. And we are finishing up our analysis of Al durum. So we just talked about, you know, his strengths, weaknesses, some of the stats kind of the up and down season that he had as a freshman, Andy, as you look at out and his role this year, where do you see him kind of fitting in one of the questions that. We've been getting that we got from several people today is they kind of feel like Alice potential breakout candidate, and they feel like he is getting lost in the shuffle. We talk about devante green to be in the guy that we expect start. And then Robert finish is the obvious guy to kind of be his backup. We know Romeo is gonna play its on an is at times a bit of an afterthought in the back court. Do you think that is fair? Do you think that it's really kinda form in back court and he'll play forty, five fifty percent of the minutes this year. How do you see that playing out. Yeah, it's it's a hard one to try to figure out because most of the lineups that we've talked about kind of end up being a little bit bigger where you're gonna play Romeo two and. You know a relatively good size front court, and I think if AL's going to play a lot of minutes in that, if that, if that, if those kind of core lineup construction, things tend to be the case, then his minutes would be tainted by ruminating break or him really, inserting himself as a potential point guard either due to himself while or one of the other guys not playing as well. If you if you look at, maybe he could be a, you know, wing defender or an and maybe let Romeo slide to the to the three or you play more of a three guard type lineup than I think he's got an easier path a minute. So I think it to certain extent depends how well the the big guys play in what and how what they can do defensively. I do think based on some what he showed as a freshman, he's been kind of an easy guy to pass over because the, you know, kinda shiny new thing with all the new guys coming in, make it easy to look past him. And he certainly strikes me as a guy. I just think back to interview you did with him. I don't remember whether it was on, you know, assembly caller. It was on podcast on the brink, but it you know, struck me even than thinking back to that conversation is a guy who really wants to work hard and get better. And you know, cliff Marshall tweeted that out last week. I think even referencing on the show, you know how he was really working on his shot and some of those things. So by no means, do I count him out of playing his way into that forty to fifty percent of minutes. It just really hard to project that going for it..

"So let's talk about some. Strengths and weaknesses here, and you guys mentioned some of the numbers Ryan to go along with the seventy one percent free throw shooting. He also got to the line a lot. His free throw rate of forty eight point. Seven percent to put it into context was just one percent less than John's and you think about how often John was getting to the line. That's, you know, that is one of our strength as he can get it it, you know, he, he drive can get into the teeth of the defense and he can draw contact. And if he can make free throws at that rate that is going to help him score efficiently when maybe his jump shot isn't falling so much, you know. And I think you look at Andy, one of the strengths that jumps out that you think is kind of obvious is that turnover rate of seventeen point. Six percent was the best among guards last year. So even with some of his struggles later in the season, that was still a good number for obviously a program that has really struggled with turnovers. But it was combined with an assist rate of eleven point, nine percent that was by far the lowest of the guards and one of the lowest on the team. And so I think what you get with how. How is a guy who doesn't make a ton of just really bad passes really bad mistakes, but he's also not really creating a ton. And sometimes that is just kind of reticence out there on the perimeter to really do something to make a play. And so again, you know, you might deal with a little bit higher turnover rate. If he's creating for other guys getting some assists think about devante green what he brings to the table. So I think that's something to look for as Allen that progress into his sophomore season. Can he keep that turnover rate down and continue to make that a strength while improving one of his weaknesses, which now when you're playing on a team with guys like Romeo Lankford shooter like Evan Pfitzner and some of the other guys, Indiana has there should be more opportunities for him to drive and kick. And that was not some of that. He was very good at last year. He was good at driving, even using the pick and roll getting to the basket and doing some of those things. He was not good at driving with his head up and finding the open man. Well, I think when you look at those numbers together, it it, it kind of underscores one of the things that's hard to figure out about him, and that's really. His role will be going forward and we're gonna talk about that more later, but he's not a guy who's a true point guard. I think those numbers. The creation stuff that you talk about would really suggest that. But then some of the shooting questions at Ryan mentioned, Neo, kind of push you away from profiling him as a shooting guard. So he kind of sits in this combo guard status, and so you're just trying to figure out what he can really become. I do think because he's a guy who who showed some aggressiveness at attacking the basket feels like he should be guy that's able to create for others in terms of drawing defensive attention. I think so of his, you know, the floaters and things like that he was able to do in the lane show that he has some ability to finish..

"Slash simply call Jared Morsi with anybody run Phillips, and we continue our player by player off season breakdown this week talking about algorithm. And so guys, I wanna start by just reflecting on AL's freshman season and you know you recall he came in not is very highly touted recruit down the two thirties, forties, but ended up. Playing a lot in the beginning of the season and really had a fast start. You know, he didn't commit more than one turnover in a game until the summer ninth at Louisville and was playing a lot of minutes. He was one of the team leaders in minutes through those first ten eleven games was eight of twenty one from downtown, which was thirty eight percent and played at least twenty one minutes in every game, but the Indiana state game. But that Louisville game really represented kind of a turning point for our. He did not have a good one in that game. He had five turnovers in that game. And from that point forward, he then had four games with multiple turnover shot just twenty two percent from downtown only played twenty minutes in five more games. And while he did in the year, making ten of ten from the line against Rutgers, there were many fewer highlights and big plays than what he showed during that first month that got everybody excited. So humanity, I think as you reflect on his freshman season, it was definitely a success given the expectations entering the season, but it is important to remember the context of some of the teams that he feasted on early in the season, and then some of the strong. That he had when the competition ratcheted up from that Louisville game onward? Yeah, it was interesting looking back. It's one of those where in my head I remembered him getting off to a good start and really being better, I think than what a lot of people thought right out of the gate and in the numbers. As you describe kind of back that up, he's scored at least six points in this first six games and then only did that five times the rest of the season. So nothing scoring is everything, but certainly gives you some, you know, some kind of indication of. Of that and you see some growth, oh, but then by the end of the season for the last sixty scores, at least seven points. But sandwiched in between a couple strong performances were two games where he didn't score at all. So I think it was just kind of up and down in similar to typical freshman season, particularly from guy not rated all that highly by a lot of the recruiting services and things like that. And and it's one of those where certainly the opponents factored in to the beginning of the year. But I think also the fact that you know team start to get, you know, tape on him and understand what he likes to do and really start to take those things away as you as you got further into the season and forced him to adjust a little bit, it'd be able to find different ways to contribute different ways to score. And I think that's something for you know, a lot of freshmen has positioned becomes becomes difficult, but you still would see those flashes at times. And I think you know, he's the perfect example of a guy that you look at and say, you know, as a four year guy, this is really going to be, you know, somebody. Who you watch grow over the course of time, and I would expect him to make a pretty big jump from his freshman to sophomore season Ryan, your general reflections on freshman year..

"I'm Jared Morris here with Andy bottoms and run Phillips and guys. Let's talk about the big schedule news that came out on Wednesday. It was announced that Indiana will play a home at home with Arkansas. So this year Sunday, November eighteenth hoosiers will be in Fayetteville to play the Razorbacks in Arkansas will come to Bloomington in the twenty nineteen twenty twenty season Andy. When you look at what this game is obviously jumps right out, hey, this is an SEC school. Arkansas pretty big college basketball brand. They were in the NCAA tournament last year. And so it seems like it'll be a pretty tough game. But actually when you look at what Arkansas loses off of last year's team and what they project to be this year, they've got one obviously very good player. Daniel gaffer who has a thirty nine three to prospect in the class of twenty seventeen, and it was very good last year, but they lose a lot and preseason according to tour Vics rankings, their one hundred seventeenth. So maybe not kind of vintage Arkansas team, but still. Should be a solid road test for the hoosiers early in the season. Yeah. I mean, they lose. They were very reliant last year on on a handful, three senior guards Jalen bar furred Daryl MAKIN, and an Anton beard. All three of those guys are gone. They basically have just two guys back who who scored over a point and a half per game. So gathered is the, you know, the one that you mentioned a really good rebound shop locker and chat really well a wonder how he'll do with a bunch of new guys trying to get him the ball. They have a large recruiting class from a quantity standpoint and the New Mexico transfer that's eligible this year that will help the the back court, but it feels like one always good from an art perspective to be able to get a road win, which it feels like while I use also integrating a lot of new pieces if there was a year to go into what is traditionally a tough place to play. This feels like a pretty good one and you never know, and it's going to be early enough in the season where still going to be a lot of pieces for for Arkansas that that may have yet to gel. So if there's a good time to go in there, I think that's probably it in that will help. I would say they're going to end up being projected toward the lower end of the SEC, but I think you can still unless team has just really far below everybody else in in a major conference, it's hard for for those teams to get really low RPI's. And I think when when you think about the cutoff and how the new quadrant system worked with how road winds are, you know, bumped up a little bit and importance. I think it's got a chance if I could win to be one that they can point to, and maybe it's a case where Arkansas gets better by the end of the year, and the wind looks better later in the year than than it might at the beginning and the other thing about this. So this is actually part of one of those four-game exempt events. And so also included and there's UT Arlington, UC Davis in Montana state. And while Arkansas is the headliner UC Davis actually projects to be the best of the four teams last year. They one hundred twenty nine thousand Ken palm this year preseason on the t. rank. They are number eighty. So they're actually much higher than. Saw while UT Arlington, Montana, state both preseason down in the fifties to seventies. So Andy, that's another game not to overlook when it comes to how these games will impact Indiana strength of schedule? Yeah, they should be one of the better teams in the big west. They played well, Nutley finish twelve and four in that league last year. And I think we're, I think we're maybe a co champion and it may have wanted outright so and and so that's tends to be a pretty good league. Good middle of the pack league, feel like we talk about those kinds of things a lot. When we're talking about you wanna schedule a little bit, you wanna schedule the league and that one tends to be one that's always in that middle area of of rankings and Ken palm so likely to be it. Certainly one that won't hurt you in and you know, a reasonably good RPI win..

"I think counted up how many he made in a row at the end of the video, but but he looked, he looked good, a skilled guy who I think when you watch that video, obviously they're not. They're gonna make him look as good as possible. But I think some interesting things there with the show post moves shown the ability to step out and make shots, which is really the thing when you looked at him statistically, was the most intriguing to begin with Serbia. We'll see some of those things and get a first glimpse of him practicing with the team is is exciting into know that everybody's there and on campus and ready to get started. And and you could see some of the other things they put out. Some of the bonds are starting to form and good natured. And maybe in some cases, you know, maybe not even good natures just, you know, some good ribbing and trash-talking going on between those guys. I think it's a good thing to see and hopefully group that will end up being pretty tight knit and one that will all look forward to watching here and a few months and to my right. He's a columnist for the big lead. He's a co host of the hangover, and he has been hired by his childhood friend Lakers head coach, Luke Walton to be the personal shooting coach for John Rondo and lent Stevenson because literally, no one else would take that job. He is Ryan Phillips owes the Indian daily students, basketball columnists plenty of problems. Steve, Alford chased diaper my life if you don't agree this totally fine. You can be wrong. That's fun. Ryan, what is your you basketball this week? Unfortunately, Luke has not called me to take that job, but you know, we're gonna. We're gonna wish it into existence. Here I wanted to mention Thomas Bryant. Speaking of the Lakers Thomas burnt was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers this week. They really liked him as a second round pick last year. He was the twelfth. Pick in the second round played. A lot in the g. league was g. league all star. They really, really liked him. But as part of their moves to open up free agent space, they had to waive him. It was sort of a pro forma move, even though he had a tiny salary, it was just to get space open to bring in guys like LeBron James and some other guys that I think they're still kind of there is on unfortunately, but as was predicted when he was released when he was waived, he was immediately claimed by the Washington Wizards and looking at their roster. They've got yawn in me. And really, that's it in the post have gotten rid of Marcin Gortat and Mike Scott left the. Agency. So Thomas Bryant really has a chance to find some minutes there, the Washington Wizards. Unfortunately, he may not plan some really because recently sprained his ankle, but I think that's good news for an Indiana guy. Think we all root for well, I loved having him on the Lakers and I thought that he had a really bright future there. He he could be steel for Washington as a waiver claim. So that's where you gotta focus on on watching Thomas and hopefully it's healthy place in some early. Here's what we're going to talk about this week. A big piece of schedule news hit on Wednesday. So we will break that down. Then in segments, two and three, we continue our off season player analysis by talking about album and segment for as usual. We will answer your questions. All of that coming here on a simply call radio, but first real quick, at least until another coughing fit happens..

"Even though no early commitments have come in yet on Tuesday, rivals posted an article in which it's four recruiting analysts made their early predictions for where the top fifteen five star players in the class of twenty nineteen will land. There were only two players whose predicted college choice was unanimous, and one of them was traced Jackson Davis to Indiana this jives with all of the public and private chatter out there about trace was also a unanimous selection to Indiana on the twenty four, seven sports crystal ball. Currently. Also in that rivals article that I mentioned while turned in walford, Matt hurt were predicted for Memphis and Kansas respectively. Instant for kion Brooks had three or four rivals predictions to Indiana. Another good sign as any potential recruiting class anchored by Jackson Davis and Brooks would be dynamite. Now in a rivals, follow up article titled five programs that should feel the best about. The twenty nineteen rankings. The five programs listed were Duke Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, and USC. And that seems like a pretty good list of the apart of the article begins quote, could Romeo Lankford have been just the tip of the iceberg for Indiana on the recruiting trail. Archie Miller has done phenomenal work thus far in Bloomington, but even better days could be a head for the hoosiers think goes on to list the many five and hi, four star players. Indiana is involved with now at some point, the hype of the twenty nineteen recruiting class will have to start turning into commitments, and certainly we all hope that one of those commitments is DJ carton. The point guard who visited campus last weekend and seems to have Michigan and Indiana atop his list at the moment. But with only two of the five star players in the class of twenty nineteen committed anywhere yet, it's not like Indiana is off the pace quite the contrary. Everywhere you look there, signs that patients will be rewarded with more celebrated commitments at some point. Excuse me. In the meantime, just keep watching the videos that the official men's basketball Twitter account keeps putting out well, we all want to lay in the next big thing. Those videos are nice reminder that the guys we have right now are pretty darn good too. Okay. Now let me introduce Steve goes for this week show.
