"Then we're looking back, the country is laughing at these clowns at Davos. The World Economic Forum, I will never stop teasing my friend and colleague Hugh Hewitt for announcing that he was invited. That's a bad thing. You don't want to be invited to this nut house. It's hysterical. I mean, these people are carrying on Brian stelter is one of the distinguished panelists. This is the guy that got fired on CNN. The bald headed guy? Greg gutfeld on the 5 had a very funny take about Brian stelter somehow being an expert on misinformation in the media of all people. The irony, of course, is lost on all of these globalists and Davos, listen to this. Stelter's there, but all this fails. Stelter is there talking about disinformation. Isn't that amazing? What's he going to talk about next? How to get washboard abs? Seriously. I'm not invited to these things because I have solutions. And if you go there with solutions, they can't have their fun anymore. So the climate change thing is great because every year that's always going to be the problem. Always the problem. You can still have your Davos party, you can still fly in because it'll never be solved. And fly in on your private jets, which to me is the one that makes me crazy.

Ron DeSantis: No Discrimination, No Requirements Over COVID Mandates

"Ron DeSantis knows it. You know, there's this debate about what's going to happen in 2024. Trump versus desantis. I'm hearing from people who don't like the fact that president Trump spearheaded operation warp speed. These are people who don't like the vaccine. That throws them, I guess, into the desantis camp. I don't know. But what I do know is Ron DeSantis is on record as saying no more mandates, no more vaccine requirements, no more mask requirements in the state of Florida. If you have the booster, you can eat lunch normally. If you don't, you got to be segregated in the corner for not having the booster. Maybe they make you wear a mask all this stuff, even though the boosted person is more likely to be getting it. So it's insane, it's irrational. And so no discrimination on this fact status. No requirements of masking in lieu of vax or for any other reason. And those are really, really important. You know, sometimes you just have to say, enough is enough, sometimes you have to say enough is enough.

Jim Talent: DOJ Is Forced to Atone With Biden Documents Scandal

"I heard Jim talent with Hugh at this morning, great conversation where he put it in such good, such solid perspective. There was such clarity. In the way he points out the chickens are coming home to roost, the justice, the Justice Department, smeared Trump with the Russian collusion crap, and now they are being forced to atone for this entire Biden scandal in a way that no one ever saw coming. There is something is happening. In America, something has happened in the world that goofy New Zealand prime minister? Who had some of the most ridiculously draconian and onerous COVID mandates in the world? If you see your neighbor call the police, if she closed everything down. And apparently the people of New Zealand are through with her, so she tearfully resigned yesterday. All over the world, people are saying, this has got to end. You can not use COVID as a tool anymore to try to control people. You can not continue to use the pandemic as a weapon to control citizens. Enough is enough is enough.

Poll: 60% of Americans Believe Biden Mishandled Classified Documents

"This is getting worse and worse. They have no explanation. I saw a poll this morning, 60% of Americans believe Biden mishandled the documents. What are the other 40% saying? Because they literally mishandled the documents. You could say it wasn't intentional or he shouldn't be having classified documents in his garage next to the Corvette. And certainly if you don't think Donald Trump should have documents in the fortress of Mar-a-Lago guarded by Secret Service agents, then you sure don't think, and listen to be fair. I've made that kind of equivocation, but I want to be totally transparent and fair here. Biden has had Secret Service protection, too. I don't think they were at the house in Delaware, but I get it. You can't, you really can't say, oh, there's nothing wrong with Trump's documents at Mar-a-Lago and the world comes to an end. Over Biden. But you can't do it the other way around either. You can't say that it's okay for Biden to have done it and have a whole different set of standards and a whole different application of the law, no raids on Biden's home in the middle of the night. None of the garbage we saw associated with Trump, there is a double standard.

Al Gore Rants About Climate Change at World Economic Forum

"Listen to him yesterday at the heralded World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. A missions are still going up. When are we going to bring these emissions down? And just to put the science in a slightly different context, people are familiar with that thin blue line that the astronauts bring back in their pictures from space. That's the part of the atmosphere that has oxygen, the troposphere, and it's only 5 to 7 kilometers thick. That's what we're using as an open sewer. If you could drive a car straight up in the air at interstate highway speeds, you get to the top of that blue line and 5 minutes. And all the greenhouse gas pollution would be below you. We're still putting a 162 million tons into it every single day. And the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth. That's what's boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers and The Rain bombs and sucking the moisture out of the land and creating the droughts and melting the ice and raising the sea level and causing these waves of climate refugees predicted to reach 1 billion in this century. Look at the xenophobia and political authoritarian trends that have come from just a few million refugees. What about a billion? We would lose our capacity for self governance on this one. I mean, if you're watching this on the sale of news channel, his you're watching this on the sale of news channel, his veins are bulging. He's purple in the face. Yeah, that's normal. Here's a great Twitter, a tweet I saw. This man who arrived in Davos on a private jet and was ferried to the hotel in a full sized gas guzzling SUV and owns three mansions is a complete and total fraud.

Who Profits From the Fight Against Climate Change?

"Do you really think that the polar ice caps are going to melt in half of the world is going to be underwater by 20, 35? If you asked me to be honest, ain't no way in the world that could be a reality when a bank still alone and money for Martha's Vineyard and all these people buying houses in Miami Beach. House sitting on the water. $25 million house. They still do an insurance loans. On these multi-million dollar houses sitting on the water that if you listen to Al Gore, it should have been on the water by now. If the banks stopped giving loans and properties on beach fronts, then I would say, yeah, okay, global warming may be real. Something may be happening. But until then, miss me with that stuff. And my opinion, people who had a genuine concern who wanted to know is burning fossil fuel into the sky, CO2 emission is that causing conflict or not, genuine question. It went from that to a money grab. And I argued the same thing with the civil rights movement that we talked about yesterday. It went from legitimately wondering our black people being disenfranchised. Are the things that we're doing in our country that are counterproductive and not fair to everybody. They took that genuine concern and they went off a cliff with it.

The MLK We Didn't Know

"Is Martin Luther King's movement any different than Black Lives Matter movement? Because if you listen, they don't talk about that Martin Luther King pushed Marxism. They don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King pushed government intervention and government assistance. More so than he did self accountability. And people don't talk about the fact that Martin Luther King didn't write that speech. Nobody talks about that part. People don't talk about the part where Martin Luther King, if you listen to any of his other speeches or any of the other things that he did, it was very different. He hung around people who were known marxists. People who did not believe in what they project that Martin Luther King is saying today. Show me a sermon for Martin Luther King. A lot of what Martin Luther King was was an activist. And again, I'm not trying to bash him. I'm really not. I'm trying to give you a different perspective. Because if you look at Jesse Jackson, show me a sermon from Jesse Jackson. Show me a sermon from reverend Al sharpton. They don't, they don't do sermons. They use the pillars of the black community and influence of having the title reverend to be an activist in the community to have some respect. And they use that in my personal opinion to manipulate and to get in the minds of black people to believe them. And I would argue that the certain people and I would argue the white Marxist leftist liberals Ireland call them liberals that mostly leftists, they are finding and using these black people influence in these black people giving them platforms to push their agenda. Because I'll go on for Martin Luther King. I mean, look at the people who hung around Martin Luther King. And people, you know, I seen the documents and information and I want to have my guy Chad Jackson on here. They give you the full perspective of it because he's a lot more knowledgeable, but I saw the video. I saw the content. Uncle Tom two alludes to a little bit of it. But there's an Uncle Tom three that I hope that they put out. That goes into it. I saw it behind the scenes that goes into everything about Martin Luther King.

Consequences for the Twitter Files? Allum Bokhari Explains

"Revelations of the Twitter files that I hope will continue to proceed, Fauci files at Al, do you think they'll be consequences? Is this something that can be ignored by the mainstream? Right now, the mainstream media, if they're not utterly ignoring Elon Musk in the Twitter files, when they do mention it, they say, oh, it's disinformation or it's no big deal. Given what we've witnessed in the last 6 years when it comes to the generation of fallacious narratives such as Russia collusion, do you have any serious expectations that there will be some actual consequences? Well, one thing that can be said is that during the Trump administration, the tax CEOs will hold the full Congress on quite a number of occasions and the Republicans are some pretty good questions about censorship and the suppression of alternative viewpoints on their platforms. But the really useful thing about the Twitter files is that it identifies the people in the federal government that can be called before some committees and really, really grilled on what they were trying to achieve with this with this censorship campaign on social media. So you can either there's a lot of opportunities to question the really the people who are actually driving this censorship in the deep state. Now, in terms of consequences, the real problem is you see what the social media companies are afraid of and it was a media pressure, not so much deep state pressure, but the media, which had the power to whip up these massive advertiser boycotts and the lead staking knew that, which is why they used the media, so frequently now, even with Republicans in control of Congress, they haven't seen do not control in the media. So they simply won't be able to impose the same kind of consequences that the left and Democrats are going to be able to do.

"So what happened there was much much less voter suppression because pre clearance and this was in the voting rights act of nineteen sixty five pre-clearance struck down in the shelby county decision shelby county's accounting album They protested some pre clearance. That forbade them from doing something. They sued the government and by five four decision. They throughout pre clearance. And basically roberts said it's worked there just isn't no one. Suppressing there's discrimination and justice ginsburg said she said Now this is like throwing out your umbrella when it's because you're not getting wet because you have any umbrellas like i'm not getting wet. I guess i don't need the umbrella. She said it more eloquently than the hat. But that's what she said and she was absolutely right immediately immediately states that had been prejudiced before. That had suppressors four-star. Doing again so mealy. We took weeks for north carolina to put in place voting system which the united states fourth circuit said had targeted blacks with almost surgical precision to suppress their modes so roberts's wrong gins burgers right. And now this decision by the court. This six three decision just is most significant decision since they're so carbon we have hearings right and we we have the majority. We have hearings because we want. We don't have the majority in. The house is going to be tough. we want to. We have to rewrite the voting rights law so that we can get pre clearance back and that's going to take some some doing and so we have hearings on how to write back well carbon shows up. He's there it gets ted cruz. Ted cruz had only been there a little. While he got elected in november of twelve. The sister king he gets toward the end of the questioning the first round anyway and the first thing he says the carbon is you and i know each other very well. We're in the same law firm early on in our careers. And i promise you three things.

"If there was any evidence that allowing votes that were cast in the wrong precinct contributes to Wouldn't you think he'd have brought it up. He's he's there the republican lawyer arguing this in front of the supreme court. You'd think if there was evidence that this contributed the fraud in some way. Because that's what this is all supposed to be supposedly about and there is no fraud. There's as close to zero fraud in this country and by the way the fraud that is exposed usually his republican fraud. So michael carbon. Who is this guy. He's a conservative election. Where obviously arch conservative election lawyer and republicans these conservative election lawyers and conservatives and republicans love to accused democrats of fraud publicly. Evidently benign court because court. You just might need some evidence. I was on the judiciary committee by wasn't a lawyer by know about evidence. I think i heard that in somewhere on tv. If you had evidence of fraud you wanna produce it if you had evidence. That people voted in the wrong precinct. Were committing deliberately doing that to commit fraud. You might present that but now Instead of looking foolish by a asserting that the law somehow I dunno catches people who were blatantly cheating now. He says the law helps us win. Come on it. It's six three republican court. So that's what he's saying. Come on you guys. Six three helps you say it helps us win you guys. And they're sexy you and only three of them. So that's why. I'm saying my god. And then justice. Roberts gets mr carbon yes justice roberts ex nay on the arson pay advantage a mean what the hell so. He's taeb now who is carbon. Okay so i. He testified before the judiciary committee in two thousand thirteen. This is after. This is a after the voting rights. Act the pre-clearance part. The most born part of the voting rights act was struck. Down by chief justice roberts and for others the five four decision and what's pre-clearance clearance pre-clearance is There are these states and counties And certain jurisdictions at his historically had suppressed the votes of people of color What states. I'll think like louisiana or mississippi or like. Oh i don't know alabama or like Georgia or like south carolina or north carolina or like virginia or like texas or like kentucky. Orla okay those and counties and there were some in the north have done this to if they change their voting rules. They haven't pre cleared by the justice department. The united the justice form of the united states.

"Because i was the host You get it to all right. Thanks fast growing trees all right. We're we're back. i'm back when i say we me. And my tapeworm you say that's that's so right at the beginning of the month. The court bay six three ruling on election law and six three yet. Guess guess which. Sex and guess which three decided that he's arizona voting laws election laws that are designed to suppress votes were legal. They overruled a decision by the ninth. Circuit that these two election laws were weren't constitutional. He'll let me tell you what they are or other focused on so arizona said that if you vote in the wrong precinct they throw your post. And it's very well-known bad People of color vote in the wrong precinct about twice as much as white people. And that's for a whole bunch of reasons One of it is about patterns. Were often people change the residents. It's also about Deliberate changing voting sites. That's really common. And so they made a law. Where if you cast your vote in the wrong precinct and you you can cast it the wrong precinct. The same polling place then they. They'll throw it out okay now. I have an audio. This is michael carbon. Who's a republican election. Lawyer justice coney barrack asks him. What is the purpose of this law to throw out votes. that are cast in the In the wrong breathing fantasy arizona. Our nc here in keeping say the out of Precinct voter ballot disqualification rules on the books because it puts us at a competitive disadvantage relative to democrats politics. Zero-sum game okay. He's saying the only purpose of laws to help republicans help republicans to win has nothing to do with fraud. Nothing to do with front.

"Been on trump's first shortlist for the supreme court which he had released before the two thousand sixteen election and remember during the two thousand sixteen campaign trump pledged to pick only judges whom the federalist society had approved while. I'm sorry i don't want anybody to fill minnesota's vacancy on the circuit who was on the federal societies shortlist. So i go no. I won't turn my blue slip now. What does that mean means. We have a veto citizen in the constitution is just custom. They'd been observed for one hundred years for over one hundred years. And here's what's good about. It what i would have done and what i offered to do is i said. I'll put a bipartisan committee. Together in minnesota a very very respected jurists and law professors and will appoint a republican. I mean we'll pick a republican you for you to nominate that. I will approve. And that's the way it'd been done. And you know what. He ended up getting getting a federal judiciary respected. You get a federal judiciary where you don't automatically know how it a judge is going to rule how a circuit judge is going to rule by what presidency he was nominated by. Because what you end up with are really good. Jurists republicans and democrats. And yeah you get some indication of the leanings of a judge who was nominated by republican president and approved by a republican senator or senate or a judge nominated by a democratic president who i handed in my blue slip four but it really good jurists who people respect but what they did was take away the blue slip. So the stresses on the circuit. And they just populate they go boom boom boom boom boom boom boom right wing right wing right wing right wing right wing federal side feral saif federal citing by the way. Do you remember trump saying very often. Well there were all these vacancies. Shame on obama. No shame on cruise. Shame on mcconnell. Shame on rand paul. Shame on cornyn because they wouldn't turn in their blue slips and they wouldn't appoint a committee to pick someone who's reasonable. They just wanted to hold that seat open until they got a republican president. So that's why there were all these.

"Who was the chairman now of the judiciary committee you said to us these words against me. Okay so you asked us. You practically begged us really to use these words against you. This was like as if you this is your wish. You said this was your wish. This is what you wanted for years from. Now if this ad or four and a half years from now please use my words against me because you'd be absolutely right to use my words against me. Okay okay here. I go now. Graham said this in a committee. Mark-up i was there for this and the judiciary committee. Here i go mr chairman. You said and i quote if a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term. You can say lindsey graham said that the next president whoever it might be make that nomination and you can use my words against me. I'm doing. I'm doing what you suggested. I'm using your words against you. And by the way. I've thirty minutes and i might use all thirty minutes to use your words against you mr chairman. You said that almost nine months before the election in two thousand sixteen we are now two and a half weeks away from the election but then then in october of two thousand eighteen. You double down your interviewed on camera. And you said an opening comes in the last year of president. Trump's term and the primary process has started. We'll wait till the next election and then you start. Say i've got a pretty good chance. And i think you're you're about to say i good chance of being chairman of the judiciary committee but i don't know for sure. But then jeffrey goldberg interrupt you from atlantic. And he says you're on you're on the record and you said yeah all right hold the tape meaning whole the tape. Use it against me. And that's what i'm doing. I'm using this against you. And by the way the lame. Excuse you you now give for. This is is the way. Democrats treated cavenaugh the atlantic monthly conference where you said an opening comes and last year of president trump's term and the primary processes started. We'll wait till the next election. Hold the tape. That was after cavenaugh head been confirmed after he had been confirmed. Now remember that last Cavenaugh hearing when you just can false with rage this what you said about the democrats on this committee by you all want power. God i hope you never get it. I hope the american people can see through this sham. This is a sham. And your own words your own words speak to. What a sham this is. You are a hypocrite. mr chairman. Think about how you treated. Merrick garland based on a fake principle. You have no principles. None of you. You're all hypocrites senator grassley. I used to have respect for you. But i don't now because you're hypocrite and you know it and what's more. You don't care.

"Coverage and thank god for john mccain thank god for john mccain but the thumbs down and by the two thousand eighteen election's you may recall people went like holy mackerel. I like having you know. My pre existing conditions covered. I guarantee that started to discover what was was in the aca. The ten essential benefits outpatient care hospitalization maternity newborn care laboratory services free preventive. All this stuff that the aca covered member when Mccain the thumbs down that trump did Who knew healthcare was complicated. And the answer was everybody but you putz is complicated. It's one sat on our economy. It's incredibly complicated. So anyway that was our first My first podcast was why we won so big we picked up forty one seats and you may have heard me say this is why i was against the single payer with no possibility private insurance because people in when you flip forty one seats when you flip forty one seats you're beating republicans so those seats are full of moderate republicans. Who voted for you. And what are those people. Don't what don't they want. They don't want their healthcare. Their health insurance taking taken away from them in many cases paid completely by their employer. Anyway so we one big then and That was our first our first podcast. Now we're at a very very very dangerous moment in our history yet. Look maybe No-one has more reason to be pissed off. Democrats than san than me and I will leave that. That offer another day but i explained very emotionally. Why i'm a democrat. That doesn't mean the democrats in washington aren't politicians and sometimes politicians can act out of fear. Make make bad decisions decisions that they perceived to be in their immediate self interest and Those can sometimes turn out to be a mistakes and that's human beings do that. Auditions are are kind of human There especially human and they're in public spotlight and it can be particularly hard for some politicians to admit that they made a mistake. But i've had a member apologize to me This brings me to a couple of things that republicans in congress both in the senate and the house not all of them but almost all of them have been and that is horrible. They've just been horrible. Now take the supreme court and mitch mcconnell. The changing justifications merrick garland that was too close to the election remember..

He's in dc right now in in the studio And peter is taking this but five six weeks right. Yeah that's right. Yeah five weeks. Would you do every year. Yeah and thank god. So 'cause i don't then. I can take a break and we we. We worked very hard leading up to it to have the shows run. And they're all like they're not tied to the news of the day but we have one on the murder of jamal kashogi which is just fascinating. We had one with norman lear who speaking of my mother-in-law. He's older than her. Yeah normally are so we have bay chosen. We've stopped by. And where are you going peter. Just tell them people where you're going. We're going all over the place. We're going camping for five weeks. We're going through the southwest. We're going to spend some time on the west coast We're going to spend a week wandering the deserts of utah and colorado. You'd take water lots of water lots of water and they say this is a dangerous desert. You're going to be right. we're gonna do a hike. That's called the the maze which is in canyon way. This sounds terrible. Yeah it's a kenya lands national park and it's been called one of the most dangerous hikes in america. And how old is your children. Sixteen and thirteen and okay I i know you you you guys do this every year we do. Yeah anyway. we've been doing this for almost well. It'll be three years in november peter. How many how many shows have we done. this is show number one nineteen. Wow and and none of them. Good not a single one. I keep saying this is a good one but it's never true. The first one recorded was with andy slab and it was right after two thousand eighteen election and in that election healthcare. The aca really was the big because republicans have been promising For about eight or nine years to repeal the aca and replace it repeal and replace with something as the president said former president donald trump said during the campaign. Something terrific terrific. And what was interesting was i had been there when we wrote the damn thing and i you know very proud of my contribution to many of you have heard about that and i was going like i. They've been talking about doing this for nine. Eight nine years. I'm wondering what the it'll be interesting to see what their think. Tanks came up with what they came up. They had nothing. Mitch mcconnell put. I think it was thirteen. Male senators into a conference room and the republicans came up with a plan. Were twenty three million. Americans would lose coverage.

"Welcome to the mount rushmore. Podcast my name is. Jeff joined by my good buddy's richer and mycole howdy these guys they do the thing and this week. That thing is the mount. Rushmore of weird. Al yankovic lorenzo. The car dealer So who that was mine. I chose it. Because i don't know how he just branly. Honestly it was a weird al randomly popped in my head. And i thought god we must have talked about him in some way on the podcast In the past. But i don't know if you've ever devoted like much time actually. I think there's now that i think i think that there is a A genre of people who it's like. How can i say this there are people that are nerds for things and then there are people that are like really really nerds for very specific things. I think that there are like the weird al people who are really into weird al the same way that there are people that are like really into. They might be giants in a way that like right. I appreciate both of them. I'm not like the person that knows. Every yeah or certainly every weird al song and i think he in particular embeds himself in your life at a certain age and either it takes root. Yeah or. I don't know maybe you wait until you're in your forties and you're just like oh he's clever. I had go through. I think i- weird al re appreciation three indoctrination in which i understood how many people he thinks the same thing with mad magazine. You kinda grow outta mad magazine and then you realize that it had influenced in inspire generations of people and that even though it it's product is silly. Those people who were inspired by it are seriously inspired. So i think weird al has for so many decades told people that it's okay to be weird to goofy to be silly and to wear hawaiian shirts. I mean there is a hot minute for like a summer and a half where you couldn't wear a hawaiian shirt because of like some crazy trump people. Oh yeah i think he is. I think he is his legacy is he's able to absorb all that clips. He's clips used to. He used to request a different hawaiian shirt from every venue. That's part of his writer. Is that right. And apparently he got so mad so many of them eventually had to like just give up on two million people are giving sending them to and stuff like that. Yeah okay cool. So i think the also he is just a very fascinating. Pop culture figure On par with madonna and prince and just kind of universally known. Yeah maybe don't listen to his music but you know who weird al is the same way you know who the energizer bunny is or you know. Michael jackson is and i'm sure all of these people come up parody songs. And he's he's ape them in some degree and but he's his own version of them and he's such a unique version of them..
