"NFL roundup Saturday preview. I'm Dave ferry. Fresh off a biweek, the eagles and chiefs are back on the field Saturday and her favorites to advance to the conference championship games. Philadelphia hosts the Giants of Kansas City entertains the Jaguars. The week off gave eagles quarterback Jalen hurts extra time to rest his spring right shoulder. He missed two games, but was back under center when the eagles beat the Giants 22 16 in week 18. Hertz has respect for the Giants defense. Regardless of what they've done, you know, I think they've done it well. What are they playing man coverage? They do that well, whatever the plan is on coverage, they play that well. So I think for us, it's just on us executing versus them. Hurts was healthy when the eagles handed the Giants their worst loss of the season, 48, 22 and week 14. And now the two teams meet for the third time in 7 weeks, eagles wide receiver AJ Brown says he doesn't see that as an advantage for either team. It doesn't matter how many times you play it. Come down to it. This opportunity and shouldn't be worried about what you did in the past or it doesn't help it doesn't hurt. You got to execute and that's what we find. I think that brings some intensity to it and yeah, I mean, they're known for having a good crowd that supports their team and yeah, so we're prepared for it. We've played there. Coach Brian debal says Jones has grown in his four NFL seasons, although this is their first year together. Dave ball sees Jones as a calming influence who is far removed from the player who went 12 and 25 in his first three years. Players looked to him because he is that consistent voice consistent message and consistent player, how he practices, I think, consistent is probably the best word to use. On paper, the chief's Jaguars game appears to be a potential mismatch, and Jags coach Doug Peterson knows their margin for error is small. For us, it's just a matter of just staying disciplined and trusting what we're doing. And just understand your role within your game plan, right? And just execute each play one at a time. Peterson was a backup quarterback when Reid was head coach of the eagles. And he also was a member of Reid's coaching staff. Reed has been impressed by Jacksonville's improvement this season. They've improved every week, and they have bought it. Doug's done a great job as his coaches have. It takes everybody. So, but he's a nice job with her. A 27, 17 loss in Kansas City left the Jaguars three and 7, but Jacksonville won 6 of its last 7 to win the AFC south, then turned to 27, nothing deficit into a 31 30 win over the Chargers in the wild card round. They advanced to the divisional round despite four first half interceptions by Trevor Lawrence, who also threw for four touchdowns and leading the comeback. I think we scored every drive in the second half, didn't pun again. So, I mean, that's huge, obviously, gives us confidence, and you don't want to do that, but to be able to win a game like that is really, really special. Lawrence has put up good numbers, throwing for 4113 yards and 25 touchdowns. But chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put up historic numbers, racking up 5250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns for the NFL's number one scoring offense. But the playoffs are an elevated brand of football, according to mahomes. I think you build up for this all season long. The regular season you take it week by week, but you want to be here in the playoffs and you know you're going to play the best football teams in the league and that's what you want to do as a competitor. And so I'm excited to get to go up against a great football team at arrowhead. That's always a good time. As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings had the chiefs at 9 point favorite while the eagles were giving 7 and a half points. "I think they know that they have the guy as the coach. And they are headed into a rebuild and they just happen to be in a terrible division and routinely outperform. I don't think that they want to tie themselves. That's what would have had to happen. It's not just having AJ on the roster. Yes, they'd rather have him, but they would have the sign him to a big time commitment without having the rest of the team in place to win, which I think is not something they want to do. What do you think? So I looked at this and I immediately saw the same thing. I'm a little bit disappointed in trailing Burke's who they drafted in the first round with the AJ Brown trade. He was like one of my favorite players in college football last year. He really took it to Alabama when he was sort of a one man show at Arkansas. So I still sort of believe in him, even though he's had tough year. I do think they regret the trade, but not because they were close, but because AJ brown's 25 years old and he's a top 8 receiver in football and that's such a precious thing to have when this four year $100 million contract is up. He's 29 years old. Yeah, he plays physical, but he's not a speed guy. I could see him being good for the entire length of that. And we're seeing quarterbacks being drafted from really ten to 45 that are impact players earlier in the contract, so who knows if you get lucky there and I just wouldn't have given up the asset if I could have just resigned him. I got you, but I think also the same thing can be said for receivers. I don't think that there's ever been a run of really talented receivers coming into the league as there has been recently. It feels like getting a number one receiver is not easy, but it can be done.

"You know, the sound bites that we elicited from Mike rabel a few weeks ago and he was on and I asked about the rumors of trading AJ Brown and he said, not as long as east coach the Tennessee Titans and he's still coaching the Tennessee Titans and AJ Brown is on the Philadelphia Eagles. And you know, I know a lot of people are talking about what a great draft. The jets had the Giants had and the ravens had an interesting night because they wound up with Kyle Hamilton at 14 and then they traded back in. On the back part of the first round, but the eagles trading up to go get Jordan Davis who next to Fletcher Cox as long as Fletcher's still there will be a very difficult front for Zeke to have to get through. And they will have Fletcher's, if you will, replacement for years to come. And then use the, I guess, what was the 16th overall pick in the draft? Or 18th overall pick in the draft for AJ Brown? And Payton. And so that's a heck of a night for the eagles. That's for sure. Do you find and we've had this conversation here and I kind of want to get your thought process on it. All these wide receivers that we're seeing being paid, paid the bag of money, are being shipped off to places where the quarterback position isn't necessarily known. You don't quite know. Derek Carr, you do in Las Vegas. You know he's a guy, but people are always talking about it. In Miami. And now, in Philadelphia, Jalen hurts the places that these players are coming from are the likes of Kansas City and Green Bay where you have Hall of Fame quarterbacks. What do you think about those who are deciding to pay wide receivers? And those who are deciding not to, but find that value in the draft. We've been talking about that on the show for the last couple of weeks with debo in AJ Brown and DK Metcalf in their walk years. And we are wondering who is going to pay a receiver who is entering year four, like a receiver who has put 7, 8 years of top notch play on the field, like Deandre Hopkins, devonte Adams. I mean, tyreek hill hasn't been at it that long, but I think has shown next level ability and dependability. So who's going to go ahead and pay that receiver that type of money? And clearly, we found out last night that Titans won't or are hesitant to for AJ Brown and the eagles will. And you see whether the contracts worth 25 million annually or 21 million annually depend upon whether it's an extension or not. That said, we're finding out if 18 will go ahead and take somebody who is still very young, but still, again, young. In terms of what they've shown and pay them or will they do it the Titans did last night, which is get rid of them and then draft his exact comp, right? As a replacement. Yeah, Daniel Jeremiah. That's what they, that's what they did. And the jets last night instead of acquiring Devo. It's not like it was their choice to not acquire them. I think they would absolutely have given up the tenth overall pick as we discussed for him. And others, but the niners, as I had said, all week long, I just needed to see it to believe it, that they would trade debo Samuel away. They haven't and now it will be one of those conversations to sit him down and say, what can we do to make this work? Because you're here and I instead of doing that, the jets obviously would have been great to get debo Samuel. But they've got Garrett Wilson at ten and the amount of money that they're going to pay Garrett Wilson over the next four years of his contract is what they would have paid debo annually for just his first year. In the contract. So this is just an interesting way to take a look at our receiver is going to be like the next if you will running back of the league and we're beginning to see how the marketplace is hammered out. Well, it's exploded. And it's been fun to see. All right, big night two. It was such a beautiful landscape. The optics of U four there with the fountains behind it, the way it was described. It was so fun to watch last night and see it play out. You could really hear it in your voice, the excitement of being there and the experience of it all. What do you expect tonight with the kick-off of round two? See Malik Willis going quicker than we hope? I don't know. Here's the way I think Mike too is going to be focused on or what we'll wind up being focused on. The ravens have 8 picks coming. So you're going to see the ravens try and maneuver around and it's interesting to see what they're going to do. Also, tonight is the night where Baker Mayfield could get traded. What will Carolina do if there are other teams that might go through round two missing on the quarterback that they wanted will they go and flip a three and something in next year's draft for baker now, how will the browns handle his contract if I'm the browns? Get them out. There's no reason to have him on your team for another mandatory mini camp for what the summer for real because if you go past this draft tonight. Tonight's draft, then baker is going to be on this team for unless they cut him. So entering the summer. He'll be on this team. I don't think that makes sense for the browns. And another thing tonight to look forward is will the packers use any of their picks on a wide receiver. After not last night. That's something I'll have my eyes peeled for this evening. You know, Daniel Jeremiah made points there when Green Bay was second taking their second pick of the first round that the value didn't fit to take somebody like sky more or Christian Watson. If I were my packers fan out there, I'm like, we need a wide receiver. No, I know. Jordy Nelson was a second round pick, I think, who else? Donald driver. I mean, Devante Adams. "Over to the jaguars side lawrence is actually fourteenth for jamie or close to that and he has does not have them in the top twenty four so Dolphin you can look at the overall numbers for the dolphins and they look like a bad defense. Give up so many receiving yards two running backs. This is just a great setup for nashi and start both pittsburgh wide receivers. And i'm guessing. No on the tight ends no tights. No but is it is something like if you're if you're desperate situation and you're trying to get ahead. Well, keep the offense off the field, and you can do it. If you have a solid run game like the Browns do right now, against a very good offensive line. And so now they don't have Odell Beckham Jr. Which obviously is a loss because he is a dynamic player, but they're used to this right. They didn't have Odell Beckham Jr for most of the year last year, and so what will they be able to do? J against the Chiefs today? Well, it's unfortunate that LBJ is not going to be out there because it was one of the big things. I wanted to see Shay with the Browns offensively, and when you don't have Oh, BJ out there. I want to see them stretch the field. I wanted to see a guy in Baker Mayfield, who rarely took shots downfield. Start takes panned what he had in the bag a little bit with that one of the personnel doesn't call for it. You won't necessarily necessarily see that here but with the Browns do have is they have a revamped defense. They have continuity on the offensive side of things, which is something Baker Mayfield has never had in his career. But it's the show me time for him and for him to come out here and go head to head with the standard at the quarterback position, the best of the best in Patrick Mahomes on the other side and the best of the best in terms of the team that the Chiefs bring out there to the field. Beasley cole beasley. Not better than terry mclaren at ninety. Four jarvis landry at ninety. One corey davis. Who i think was a massive disappointment. After being picked fifth overall out of western michigan by tennessee. He finally had a good year last year and swiss signed as a free agent. I was actually very interested in him for. Washington is a free agent. Because i thought he sort of busted out last year but corey davis better than terry maclaurin. I don't think so. I don't alan robinson comes in at eighty seven. I would take robinson before. I would take terry maclaurin chris godwin and comes in at eighty one. He's dropped about twelve passes during the season last year but he is very good. Adam phelan's at eighty tyler. Lockets it's seventy six. I like tyler lockett a lot. I really do that year. Was the year they pick. Jamison crowder and i remember before that draft i said stefan digs tyler lockett. Either one of those receivers would be a great pick for them and like rounds three through through five or whatever and they took crowder. Crowder was the least of the three clearly Michael thomas comes in at seventy two. And then you get calvin ridley. It's sixty five keenan allen at fifty five oh by the way. Aj brown at sixty two right there for me. That's the tell that there's no chance. Corn is on this list because aj brown's much better. He's not much better. But he's better than terry maclaurin. Aj brown's a beast justin jefferson after one year is fifty three on the list. Mike evans is at forty eight on the list. So guys that you would clearly take before maclaurin you know like evans. I think like aj brown. I may be justin. Jefferson may be we'll definitely keenan allen. I think i don't know that's pretty. Close he's not going to be on this list. When you're trying to nominate i like to have people on my roster that i want that i like a lot that i know i have secure because you don't want to get in desperation mode that gets real bad real fast as in okay. Seven out of the ten running backs for gone. I need to get one of the next three. And now you know you're paying a premium so the hardest part is securing the talent that you really really want and doing so in nominating. Kind of like what you said. So okay i want cooper cop start at twenty seven i like your strategy on starting there but obviously not pay an arm and a leg. I also don't want to have too much money out there where everyone else is paying premium. It's securing those elite players like tire. Lock it you know like when we're when we're on the clock next week. When do i throw him out when it's in the middle of the draft and is already the first four round of wide receivers are gone and he's the next best available. That's probably not the best time. The best time i'll maybe tire lock it would be when. Aj brown is still available and people are looking at their list. Tire lock is going up. He's going to twenties and you say well that's still. Aj brown. I still allen robinson. And i still got so and so i think that's when you do it but it's still a lot easier said than done. Yeah that's a great point because timing is everything with some of these positions and there's always a point in the auction where you're like. There's a player and indus for our listeners to nominate mean so the snake draft you take turns taking pick you have the seven. Pick you pick when it's your turn. The only difference is an auction when when you're up instead of making a draft pick you nominate a player for everybody to bid on so that's what we mean by nominating but yeah. It's timing. is everything if he gets to a point in the auction where it. I've been in this situation a bunch of times where i'm like. This is player really wanna nominate but like chess. Not say anything people forget about him or is everybody thinking. that's the best part fours. Everybody thinking the same thing everybody else waiting on him as well. so you really have to make that calculation. It's not easy because you gotta kinda read the room a little bit. You gotta look at the landscape. See who's who's available and that's why it's so important to be in on every player because let let's say you really want lock it and you have no receivers in knee. Lock it and you don't get him because there's always that one person that has a lot of budget two. That's why it's always important to look at the room around you and if you're if you're an online draft. It's easier to do this. You can just click on each team individually and see who has what who has what budget available and you if you know the person you kinda know their their their habits in terms of from an auction standpoint kindly what players they like are they aggressive and You wanna factor all that in. It's awesome thing about an auction is so much stuff to consider. Ms it's my point. That's why you always gotta be on every player because you never wanna be playing a game of musical chairs. And you're the one left standing without a chair to sit in right. Yeah so if you wanna get player would you can. If you don't get player. A player in the top twenty nominations. I think at that point. You need to start being a little aggressive and doing something because you just don't want to get to the point where there's literally. Okay this is the last player of this tier now. Everyone's bidding on them too. That's going to happen every single auction as a matter. Who is at player. Who is that player left in the tier in did you want him in the first place or not in my example of lock and and people looking at aj brown's available and chiasso available. I mean this is exactly what i do. Is i someone up there. I checked the price. I see where it's going to calculate all this at the same time but what i also do is i say okay. You know tire lock. It's going up. Okay joe brown. Still there mean obviously title at. I want per say asia brown was going. I would say well maybe i don't need. Aj brown. i've got. I've got my price tag on on tyler lockett. I've got my price tag on robert words. I can spend this on them and still secure them. Which is all obviously a hypothetical. But i still need to be ready and available as mentioned because if aj brown is going to go for an amount that is super reasonable. I might as well just secure that talent right then and now it because who knows tyler lockett might actually go for more. Which we've all seen happened before. Yeah i think the best deals in option are at the beginning. How you wanna see me like the first half hour. The first like ten nominations at the beginning at the end. I think those are the two times when you get that because you at the beginning you capitalize on people's hesitation people takes people a while to wake up at the beginning and then at the end when when people don't have the money don't have the roster spots the beginning of the end of the two times in the auction generally speaking when you have the best opportunity to capitalize and get and get players that really good value or over plant players. Colts face different Titans' threat with Ryan Tannehill at QB
"Sunday. It is the titans and Ryan Tannehill. Dan Hill really happy for him. By the way at the Indianapolis Colts Starwood Tannahill and the November December Munster known as Derrick Henry. Well here's the thing with tannehill now barring the complete face plan the question is just how many guaranteed years does he get from the titans because because he's GonNa be the quarterback next year. They're really the running an efficient effective offense. I think he's up around fifteen yards of completion over his last two games. The problem is with Tennessee. Hennessy is. He isn't throwing the ball a whole lot so we had eighteen. Pass attempts against Jacksonville last week. Now of course two rushing touchdowns in two passing touchdowns so he he wants somebody a lot of money in DFS. But it's it's one of those things where decided Lamar Jackson. You really don't think that that's tenable. Because he's a good Ron. Everybody's not an explosive one but then he had the nineteen pass attempts against Kansas City. A couple of weeks ago. This is how they WANNA play. So I think Tannahill the hill is a streamer streamer the quarterback the problem is i. Don't trust any of his wide receivers because AJ Brown had the big game and Jacksonville but two weeks exco. He had the terrible game just one catch against Kansas City. So I'm not really trusting any of that. I think Corey Davis is flat out droppable right now because I have a tough time saying to myself. When am I going to play Corey Davis in any of my line at this point and so I think he's droppable? Ryan Tannehill has accounted for for over nineteen fantasy points and multiple touchdowns in each of his five starts his nine point two yards per attempt is leading the NFL. He's playing really well. And I think the colts are a gettable matchup even if it's not a pristine one but the guy you always trust here is Derrick Henry. You had a third touchdown last week wiped out because of a screen pass. The the colts are really struggling to score points right now and we heard this week. That t y Hilton so far isn't sure he's going to be ready to go on Sunday. This projects to be a lower scoring game in Indianapolis and that means all systems go for Derrick Henry locked in rb one locked in court. DFS play tight end for the titans writings. Nobody worthwhile nobody useful Delaney Walker. Could be back. Johnny Smith didn't even have a target last week. He had a carry their they got one in target for Michael Pruitt. Firkh sir. Didn't have a target Dennis Kelly the backup. Tackle got a touchdown. The tight ends and Tennessee are useless. It's really Tannehill and Henry Henry at this point of the season the only two guys that I can consider with any sort of confidence.

If I remember a few times a year ago they're a veteran and secondary who should be able to swarm and kind of swallow this Jaguars offense which was very condensed the week ago. This is just so this such delimited team. They're so thin you know how sometimes Dak Prescott. He's completed eight passes to different receivers in the first half. They've six Jaguars period have caught passes this year they. They don't have a backup running back. Their offensive line is very thin and they were struggling to pick up blitzes. It's just a lot to ask for mint you who I think's doing a good job and their defense offense to carry them. I think when you have the B. Line through both games was that despite some big plays on offense for the titans against the Browns Marcus Mariota. Uh is not a quarterback that propels any offense. He's any seems to hold you back in one in one thing that I find interesting about a team like the titans versus others is that you get Adam Humphreys and you mentioned on Sunday any finishes week to with negative two yards. I thought he was going to be the perfect thing for Marcus Mariota and AJ Brown big game week one really nothing in week two and it says you cannot count on the titans attack week to week outside of. I think you know Henry. Potentially early on the ground has been consistent since last November so one of the better backs in the league they're gonNA need him to be big in this game but I do trust every other element of the titans and in their defense and to me. I'd be surprised if they don't win this by ten points or more there the better all around team. I expected to win but you never know when a Jaguars defense it's perfectly capable of shutting down the Tennessee Titans who are not dynamic on I mean they shut down the Texans the Texans. I think they were touchdown. I believe it was on a very very short field otherwise they did a great job and that was without in Gakugei and boy. I don't know if they're back but they got pressure on Watson and that's two weeks in a row for Watson Awesome but Watson that didn't shut the offense down against New Orleans man she mania. There's the night all right.

"And they're like what is the buzz about here? And I was like we'll Cuyler Murray's Wayne, but he's not even gonna test. Yeah, there there isn't mother isn't a there isn't one specific thing that people are really buzzing about I think there's a several position groups that are really interesting. I think the offensive linemen and the receivers have some really interesting players receivers, particularly there's like the whole spectrum of type of players. I mean, you've got decay Metcalf. You've got I came and then he got Markey's Brown, and like smaller shifty guys you've got AJ Brown who looks like a running back playing receiver. There's just all kinds of guys in. So there there's a lot of I think if you're if you're gonna say there's buzzer excitement about anything. It's it's watching receivers as watching the offensive lineman, obviously defensive lineman is going to be huge this week. Oh. Ed oliver. I think that was actually kind of an interesting thing this morning, he weighed in I think it to eighty seven. So that was a good way for him. That's plenty. Yeah. That's like more than what Aaron Donald waiting now. Obviously that's a comparison. That happens a lot. I don't think he's earned Donald. But he's a very good player very explosive and being at two eighty seven is a very good number for him. We'll see how he tests. I think that he over the next few days he could generate a lot of buzz of among the receivers. Is there anybody that you particularly like, it's just one of your guys? I think you came about a starting to he started to I I mean, I'm standing out to you a little bit. As things you've said to me in tweeted, I'm reticent to say, he's my guy because I there are worries with him in terms of drops and his like, he's just massively few look at his web chart on. I think actually I heard that he set the record for wingspan at receiver position at the combine almost eighty four inch got. Yeah. So he's got an insane catch radius. I'm a little worried about like. You know, his ability to separate his his consistency as a catcher, but he has immense upside I'll put it that way like his ability to get behind. The defense is really good. He's really long strider really fast. So I wouldn't necessarily say he's like, you know, my pound the table guy. But I do like him a lot. I'm really interested to see how akilah Harry runs think. He's just kind of one of those guys that's really polarizing right now because we're from Arizona state. He he's a guy that is like really big physical super productive. But he's also sort like, there's he's kind of in the alshon Jeffery shor mold where you're like Kenny separate or is he gonna have to only sorta use his body in wind contested catches and things like that. I think he's going to be really interesting. The Stanford guy JJ JR Sega white said Whitehead is really interesting player. He's like form basketball player box out king. Like if you watch him they just throw it up into the end zone.
