They're up by 10 at the break, enforce shooting 44% in the first half of this basketball game, and they outrebounded the Bulldogs 22. 15 in the first two periods of play one of three games in the Mountain West Conference scheduled today. Earlier this afternoon in Las Vegas, Boise State And Las Vegas and Vegas beat Boise. 74 to 62. They played yesterday and Boise State 1 85 to 59. So those two teams split their midweek Syriza in the Mountain West Conference. In women's basketball action. One other game being played being played now. Utah State is that Wyoming on Saturday and then on Monday, a pair of games UNLV at San Diego State and Nevada is at Air Force The New Mexico Colorado State Games. No, I I'm not sure those are going to be played or not. I know the Mexico Colorado state men's games, at least the one that was scheduled for Fort Collins earlier this week. Was canceled. Due to covert concern, so that's the schedule whether or not the games will be played remains to be seen. But that's the case in any sport anywhere in the country. These days. It doesn't matter if it's women's basketball or not. Halftime in Fresno, the Falcons up by 10, we will take another time out and come back with more right here on the Air Force Sports Network. "Is us a game show for Air Force and Bentley and fans. Now you can get free checking the pay's at our Academy. Federal credit Union with CAS Ossa asked for Casazza A F C U and start earning today Air Force and Bentley second game of the weekend. Syriza Yesterday. Bentley won by a score of 63 and the win was the 250th win in the career. A Bentley head coach, Ryan Soderquist, 19, plus seasons. At the helm here and last night score was 6 to 3 and asked him for his take on the game. Writer. I thought that early on, I thought our team had good jump when you start on time and had a good first period got the lead, and it seems that the air Force was, you know, a little bus legs in the 1st 10 minutes. We took advantage of that. But yeah, the game was obviously certainly target. We got a couple timely power play goals to start the third period. And I think that was the difference in the game. Are you surprised at how well your team is playing, given the fact that you had that long way off and then all the covert issues? Yeah, obviously it's a credit to our guys, They said yesterday. Do you want some university 38 Day layoff and then come back, But you know, we do have a lot of veterans in that room and some good leadership. Guys have been the league for a long time and know how to win. So you know, I think that leadership pays off in structures like this. Not much time between games. Anything you identified as priorities, something you want to You better or are some things you want to eliminate coming back from Christmas break. Our goal is to get more guys involved in the offense. I thought that we weren't being dynamic enough. I think as a coach of stuff we may have Limited. Our guy's a bit in terms of their offensive ability, and we had to take, you know kind of ropes off there a little bit and let him be a little bit more creative in the offensive zone while still trying to maintain defensive structure, so it's kind of getting that balance back in our game. So how do you do that? So obviously we're trying to get you know four guys involved in the offense for trying to, you know, work one of our D into the you know, high cycle game in terms of diving and hold and moving and getting four guys involved in the offense versus five and you know, I think obviously, the guys enjoy playing that style of hockey. Um and you let him be a little bit more creative. Any offense? Any lineup changes today We will suck Frasier cart and that tonight I thought Gravelle did a great job battle on last night made some huge saves. SAR a lot of traffic lot of bodies in front of him. But, you know, I think that phrase has been working hard and deserve to go tonight. Was that kind of the plan coming into the week? Yeah, the plane actually coming into the week. We have four games here and quick. Short period of time, and we're looking to be fresh. We do have death and goal and I think there's a good time for you to use it, Ryan. Thanks Good luck tonight. Thank you. It's free Shit. Get Ryan Soderquist, the head coach Bentley, starting his backup goaltender Frasier Kirk, a junior. Out of Ontario in the game tonight in place of, um, the goalie who started last night's game Who's been the number one goalie Nicholas grab codes of freshman out of Pennsylvania. We'll take a break and Frank's territory will join us. Next is we continue here on the Air Force Sports Network from Louisville, My MG college presented by U. S A. Yeah, me. Me. Me, me. "Bentley has been very good. 30 Atlantic Hockey 22nd in the nation, they give up 2.7 per game. Air Force hasn't played since January. 9th when they lost at Mercyhurst 6 to 3. At three goals was an offensive explosion for Air Force. The Falcons are only averaging 1.7 goals a game. They're giving up four per contest and Bentley rates in the top 20 in the nation in both special teams category second in Atlantic hockey. In both their power play at 24% into power play goals on Tuesday. They have five on the season and the penalty kill is at 87% Air Force's power players getting better. They were at an anemic 7% for a long time. The power play now up to 16%. They've scored five and 31 power play opportunities. Penalty kill still needs a little work. They've killed off 30 44 that only works out to 68%. And they've only played seven games. But Bentley is the most penalized team in Atlantic Hockey 13 minutes per game. That's the eighth most in the nation on the face off dot Bentley a little over 50% 3rd in the conference and the average 11 block shots per game. Their force on Had forced penalty minutes per game. The Falcons have never been a team that's taken a lot of penalties, but this year they're up to 12.5 per game, and that has got to improve face off 48 a half percent on the season, and they're averaging 10.5 block shots. Per outing. We will take a break. When we come back. We'll hear from the veteran head coach of the Bentley Falcons. Ryan Soderquist. He joins us after this on the Yusa a pregame show following a break on the Air Force Sports Network from Little Film I MG College presented by U. S. A..

"Over the goal line. Five to Mercyhurst 15 seconds left. So a different kind of frustration for Air Force Today, they surrendered a to nothing lead in this game. Went into the third. Leading 2 to 1. And they're gonna fall. Here this afternoon to the Lakers. Under five seconds to go. Now's LaRock makes one final save. And your final score here at the Mercyhurst I center Mercyhurst five and Air Force two. Win of the season for the Lakers, 35 and one overall second win in Atlantic hockey for Mercier's to two and one overall Air force will fall toe 07 and one Both in conference play, and overall Falcons are still winless as they come here to carry Pennsylvania and dropped the first of a two game set by a final score of 5 to 2 J. "One of their three Colorado Springs area branches to find out more Navy federal federally insured by the end. See you a time on the U. S. A pregame shows we get You ready for Air Force and Mercier's Visit with the head coaches and we start with the head coach of Mercyhurst, Rick got kin. 32 years as a head coach 32 seasons on the bench here at Mercy, Hurst, he's taken them from a small college small yeast college. And a low level hockey team to Division one. He's been there the whole time 564 career wins, 448 losses and 95 ties, a winning percentage. Better than 55% in his years here at Mercy here, is trying to bounce back from a rough year season ago and trying to do that, in the era of covert covert went through this Mercyhurst team back in October and affected a lot of players. It affected the head Coach Rick got it affected his wife and asked him if getting it early. Maybe in some ways has been an advantage. Now that it they sort of got it and got it out of the way. I would rather have a way we had it. You know the whole team pretty much You know, we all recover, and then we get on with business as opposed to some programs, You know that are kind of going in a couple of guys here a couple of guys there and And what? Not so, yeah, You know what's what it is. And like I said, we would prefer not to have had it. But we did. And we got through it, you know, And you know, here we are. Look at your roster, and I see a lot of familiar names. I know you lost a lot of key. Key players, But are you rebuilding this year? Reloading? How would you describe it? Well, I mean, we were way thought we were young last year with only the five seniors, two of which were goaltender's So, uh, this year, we only have two seniors and one of which is a graduate transfer from villages. So, um, you know, we only have one real senior here. Quinn Wickers, who's been here for four years and You know, Hank Chance of the goaltender has been. He's a graduate transfer his first year and, uh, you know, what we have for the first time is a bigger junior class. And now we have a bigger sophomore class and We have a big freshman class. So we're we're still really young, You know, And I don't know if he lost a lot last year. Like I said, we lost two goalies actually lost all three goalies from last year, you know, And then the other guys who lost work, You know, I think three forwards there so, but, you know, we feel like we brought back some pretty good experience. You know, guys who were very, very difficult year last year. Guys got to play meeting for minutes and gain some experience. And, you know, we're still like I said, We're still young. I think we're improved. You know, Last year we weigh crawled a lot. It almost nights and This year. We feel like we're walking a little bit. You were hoping to run at some point, you know, but we're not there yet. Other than experience, what would you say is the strength of your team? Well, you know what I weigh? Try to add goalscoring. Um, you know, we felt like, uh, you know, we've always been a goal scoring team. We've always been a team that could play well, last school wins. And if that was a 76 game, then, eh? We're comfortable with that. And you know the last couple years due to graduation and what not and Joe do Zach signing early and leaving our goal. Production went way down, so we tried to add some some goal scoring and And we have some players that we think can do it. You can't score. You know, we really haven't done that a lot. We have one big night that I actually scored seven, which was which was great to finally do. But you know, we're not generating enough goals. You know, we thought we played pretty well last weekend against Kurdish is And you know it was one. Nothing going in the third period there last Friday night, our last Saturday night, and we have chance after chance after chance and posts and open that so we don't square and we got the blues in that game, 32. Um, And then Saturday here, we felt we even played Sunday here. We thought we even played better. And you know, in the first period without shot him like to start the period like 15 to 2 and again. We're bringing pucks off post across parts, and we lost enough there with an open net. So Goal. Scoring is something that we really have to continue to work out. What are you expecting this weekend? Well, I mean, you know, it's therefore so we know they have a great team. I don't care what their record says. You know, they got a great team. We know how hard they work. You know how many shots they're gonna block and Have hard to go to the net. So you know we're gonna have to find a way to be able to defend, you know and be strong in our zone and then be able to transition and get some offense and Hopefully find a way to finish a little bit. You know, That's been the tough thing for us. But the Air Force teams have always been pretty stingy when we played against them. So you know, I wouldn't suspect, possibly a low scoring close game. Thanks. Good luck tonight, Jake. They could see me. Oh, you know, that's right. Captain 33rd season his head coach here at Mercier's feels his team is coming on getting a little better every game. That's kind of the sentiment that Frank's territory Feels about two year force Falcons and Air Force. Winless on the season. Mercier's has won two games, but one of them as we mentioned earliest, come against one of the best teams in the country in bowling grain in the season opener. We will hear From the Air Force head coach when we come back on the other side here on the Yusa, a pregame show, but first, this time out on the Air Force Sports Network from Louisville, I MG college presented by Yusa. "Belong blue Line and going today tomorrow beyond proud to partner with their force Athletic sister Air Force hockey coaches show with Frank's territory. I'm J, which he were on the road and doing the show tonight from Dwyer Arena here in Niagara Falls, New York, which is the Home Arena for the night of Purple Legal stock has just wrapped up a serious with Niagara and what a change. It was like, day and night from Sunday to Monday from Sunday's game, losing 72. Bouncing back and earning a point in a 11 tie yesterday on this ice is very ice here, down below us against the Purple Eagles. Franklin just talk about The difference in your team from Sunday to Monday. And what what changed? What made what made the difference? J. Who knows? I mean, Who knows what the difference was. We have a young fan group and I think we're gonna We're gonna have some of those nights that that that you'd like to forget. They're gonna have some of those Um, that that night you were gonna you know, we don't Well, college hockey is an old deep league and it's pretty well documented. I've talked about it worth in right now. And we're young we had some people makes not makes him make some bad decisions and we we've lost a We lost eight players over the last two years. And that's had an impact on our depth, and it's made us way younger. The beneficiaries of this are guys like, uh, be a, um Marty. Some of these guys that maybe wouldn't have had a chance to play right away. They would have had, you know, train and get better and wait for their opportunity, though they've gotten a chance to play. Right away. But you know again, did this thing you, You know, I always say you can buy everything at Walmart except experience and we need to get out. We just need to jump on the treadmill and we need to start getting experience and And we have We got some experience on Sunday night. It was a bad experience. Yeah, it was a bad experience. But it was an experience and then, like, okay, how are you going to respond to that? Like, how are you? How is the group going to respond to that? And, uh, that's the question Mark, and that was the thing with talking to my coaches. Andy and Jo and Ben about his okay, you know? Hey, we need a response because, like well like We got punched the chops. We got knocked down and they started putting the boots to us. Are we going to continue to let him put the boots us or we're gonna are we gonna find our way to our feet and start swinging back and, uh, you know, luckily Uh, you know the tactics that we used and also we have a good group of proud group and a proud group of seniors. Obviously, they had a lot to do with it in the room, but I've coached. Doyle called out the seniors on Sunday or Monday morning before the Monday night game Monday afternoon game and And they responded. They didn't respond like on the score sheet, but they were Scott bonded with an attitude we came out with on Monday with an attitude. We didn't play with an attitude on On Sunday and and and we got we got beaten. We got beaten, and we got beaten very badly S O Again like as we as we move forward, what's going to be the identity of this team? Um, ultimately was all said and done. You know if this team wants to be successful if they want to have a chance to win the playoffs. We've got to be. I've said it all along. We've got to become difficult to play against and all teams need to first become. You need to become difficult to play against before you could have a chance to win. And, uh, we weren't very tough to play against on on on Sunday on Monday, it was a different story. We came out we played the body. We made sure we had bodies back above the puck. We did. We took their line rush offense away. Their power plays dynamic the they scored their goal on a power play, but They only had 20 shots on goal in one of the reasons they didn't. They didn't want it. They didn't want to dump pox. They don't want to release pucks. They tried to escape through our numbers, and that's very difficult to do. On and um and we countered with with 40 shots. We all shot them in the game to the one. And when you look at the talent, the experience in the towns that they have If I'm coaching that team, and in this young air Force team outshoot you to the one If I was if I'm coaching that team, I'm not very happy with that. I'm not very happy with that. I can tell you that, but you know, unfortunately for them, their goaltender played good. Not only did he get them through the game, he got him to the shootout, and he and Rocky were both fabulous. We did have a few breakdowns in the game when we did. Rocky was there and he and he was great. And then we got to the shootout, and, uh, Rocky was good, but but their guy was great on duh that ended up being the difference in the game. They got the extra point off the tie. Air Force and Sacred heart here tomorrow, that's a makeup game. One of the two games against Sacred Heart was canceled right before Christmas, and we're going to take our last break and we'll come back and talk a little bit about that. And then wrap things up. Tonight. Here on the Air Force Hockey coaches show with Frank's territory. We will take a time out and the Air Force Sports Network from ler Feel I MG college Presented by Yusa. Me. "Get to the weight room after the season and And put on a few more pounds there of guys do that every year. Absolutely. Yeah, well, absolutely. Um And I know it's great. I should have mentioned that too. But his father serving as well. And it's great when we went when we when we recruit these guys, and they do have AH family member that did serve because the family members that did serve they take great pride in that, and also, they can. They can help educate You know these young guys on kind of what they're getting into it. And, um, you know, um, you know that played a big factor with B, A and and also, I'm sure played a factor with you. That definitely I think, am I? My dad was a little bit Ah, little more excited to my mom. But first she heard Air Force and got a little scared. But the more she learned about now, I think she's almost more excited than him. But yeah, no it Zbynek cool. Nate or in Elk River, Minnesota. Another fresh from Nate. Thanks for coming by good job. They said. Yeah. All right. "They're not real wins, you know, but It's kind of when you leave the eyes, your competitors. You're out there you want to win. And and when you win the shootout, you're kind of you're kind of on a higher high. Then you probably should be. And when you lose the shoot off your kind of come in on a lower lower than you actually should be. So it's a It's a little somber, but I think the guys are feel good about their age. They they left it all on the ice. They put it all out there. Um, you know, you look in again. I obviously scoring is gonna be an issue. It's hard to score goals. You know, we're gonna have to score guide by committee, You know, Ironically, just out there again to the listeners were. We're in a situation where you know we were struck team was stripped down a little bit and We lost some players due to some situations that were avoidable. And now the rest of the guys who are caught holding the bag and they've got to try to make things right. We've got a young team. We've got a thin team. We scored three goals on the weekend. Every goal was scored by a freshman, and you know, so I mean, It's way we've got a tall task in front of us. But, you know, when you see a young group like this bounce back from last night, they didn't allow. Uh Niagara to kick sand in their face way fight back. We punched back and we were in the hard fought tie here and and we certainly are going to apologize for that. That point could be huge to in a couple months at the end of the season. Who knows? Jay? I don't really who knows? That's a valid comment, but at this point in time When we've lost. We had lost five games and roll like there's not a better time at that point to come for them from for right now we needed. We needed to stop some bleeding, and we needed to get something in a call him other than the loss column, and we accomplished that today. All right, that's good stuff to talk about on the coaches show tomorrow night, too. On the road here in Niagara. That's Frank's territory. "Adams, and he buried it in the back of the net. Neutral zone face off Falcons win the tap, but Niagara with the takeaway and handling the pocket center ice, Ryan Cox lost it. Cook will settle it down for Air Force as the Falcons move it from right to left in the final 20 seconds off period number to a goal of peace in this period, Max Harper will dump it in for Air force with five seconds remaining. And the Purple Eagles will just Neil, take a knee here run out the final five seconds. But Air Force got to be feeling pretty good about itself down one. Nothing giving up a power play goal. The Falcons even this game on Bryan Adams shot in the final minute of the second period, Boy did air force need that, Jack. The Falcons are playing good hockey tonight. They've taken a couple of penalties they put in a dagger on the power play in the Purple Eagles took that first goal. But what would a play there by Bryan Adams and another freshman, remember both goals last night were scored by Air Force freshman Marty and Horn. Tonight's goal by Bryan Adams, the first of his career. Adam's picked up his first career point last night. With an assist gets a goal tonight, and that's a huge goal. Air Force needed something to feel good about it and I Adams gave it to him. Malcolm's go on to the third with the chance in this game. That's all they were asking for. That's what Frank's territory talked about. In the pregame show. "Mick Jackson had 11 points and four rebounds. Joe. I was impressed. He would go right hard to the class and into the land against Keita has been the defensive player of the year in this conference. He continues to show confidence and although there was early foul trouble, he managed the rest of the game to kind of stay away from it. I thought I thought Uh, You know. Overall, he and Mika sort of You know, played. In a way without OK, That's what we need to say, you know, but again, like we said, If we're talking about Two guys playing that way then we're gonna be talking about, you know an end result like this, But, you know, tunics credit. You know, all I want to see from him is continued development that way. Uh, You know some consistency in that regard what you're talking about and on day it's good to see me come off the bench and sort of the sport. Got the ball in the post. He scored inside. We see those things from him. That's that's going to help us as we go through the years so they would be too bright spots. You know, but again, I talked to our guys. That's that's what makes this season a season. You know, sometimes things you're great. Sometimes things that are bad. It's like, you know, warm and cold and all right. "The Falcons gym, Arthur Job back at it after the holidays If you will leave the short break for you guys, but first game and 11 days, so maybe do you watch a little bit closely, but how you start today? Well, I mean, I think Starts have been with the way they've been, you know, So I think the real thing is is for us to not really. Get caught up in the start. It's too just See if we can see the intensity that we need, You know, You know, it's a big game or guys, you're gonna be ready to go. I just think we've got to see sort of like a communist through. Whatever this start is. And just see for more guys. You know the things we've been stressing just the embassy, the points of emphasis we've been trying to have and see the execution offensively. See the transition defense. If we're seeing those things early on that, I think over the course of the game that's a good indicator of how will continue to play, you know, obviously. It's always nice to make your first shot. It's always nice to get off to that start, but I think we just have to really zero in on sort of on our like I said, our level of toughness, our level of intensity. And make sure we have that and have that consistently the beginning the middle of the first half the end of the first half to start of the second half and all through the game. With Nevada last week and with Utah State today these are the reasons you took that Drake game, right? Well, I mean, I think that was the whole purpose. It was Drake We knew was Drake was good. We knew their veteran team. They've proven to be really good team. You know, they're 11, you know? On, I think You know, at a early time in the schedule showed our guys a lot of things that maybe we were saying that we were preaching that we were trying to teach. But Game showed it and we've been able to use that and you know now we're coming off. Goodwin. We're feeling good. Uh, you know, that's a whole different game. Now. It's a whole different game. When you went on the road, and the other team knows you have done that, and they're coming into your building and, you know, I want to see how our guys responded, and that's gonna be the way All these games. How are guys respond and how we grow and how we develop it? And that goes collectively and individually because Mommy educated inside you worry about them trying to stretch your defense inside out. Well, I mean, that's how they always play. You know, He's a very good passer like we talked the other day. You know, E think we have to be concerned with again how we're playing and not Utah State and not well, he's getting it inside and he's doing that and that we just have to say. We play in the way we practiced. Are we doing the things that we stressed in practice? Because I don't know if we can stop the kid, Keita, but I know what our game plan is. And I know if I'm seeing us Working to execute the game plan, and if we can do that over 40 minutes and execute offensively. Those were the most important things. Not really what Utah State's doing because I think we know what they're going to do. We just have to do what you know. We practiced and go out there and executed. That's Joe Scott. We've got the lineups after this on the Air Force Sports Network from Deerfield, I MG college presented by U. S A. The.

"A. And it's a press box edition of the Air Force hockey coaches show We cannot take to show out on the road, at least till further notice. So while long as we're long is that still in effect due to cope? It will be broadcasting from the home of the Falcons. Right here at the Cadet. I, Serena. The brand new press box were joined by their force captains for this season mentioned earlier. Alex Maynard senior Jake Levin senior and standing by in the Wings is Sean Nolan and other senior who be coming on it Just a little bit. First, we got Alex and Jake did Did he pull the short strides? That would happen? All right. Alex Maynard, Alexa senior out of Morehead, Minnesota. Um, first off, Holy cow, you guys. They're seniors already. I can't. I can't believe it. It seems like it was just just a year or so ago when you guys were fresh face, wide eyed and skinny freshman here at the while, I don't know my exactly Rogers. I don't think Zack was ever skinny, was he? But, uh, it's just it's amazing. It's hard to believe. You guys are already seniors make on Wisconsin, Wisconsin. That's Jake Levin over there, sitting in the chair to my right to be on the other side of the plexiglass, Alex Maynard, and we talked a little bit before we got on the air. Her Live. You were quarantined. Missed the first two games at a. I see you're back. Where you back here at the academy. Yeah, Yeah, I was up in, um, the dorm rooms for two weeks. Just under two weeks. And you didn't have Kovar, though, was contact tracing. Is that what happened cracks? My roommate, Um, had it so I was up there, um, in a different room. Did you practice all the way up to that? Or when did you find out? You know that you were gonna be quarantined. You know, I found out actually that morning. I think of the Robert Morris game on Friday. I had a chance of getting out early, So I got my test in and then they notified me around two o'clock that I'd be ready. Tow out of quarantine and go down to the rink. How about When did you find out? You were going to be quarantined. Um The day before we left for a I see. So that Tuesday, right before we left on Wednesday. I, um you know, marshy knew that my roommate it tested positive, so he told me to stay up in my room. And then after that, um you know, his test came back positive, obviously. And mine came back. Negative. So we both went up to quarantine for a little bit. I talked to Frank a little bit about this. I don't know if you guys are really here. The discussion we had, but the way last season ended and ah, terrible. It was not only for you guys but especially for the seniors were your thoughts when we're in Rochester that weekend? Yeah, that That was tough, because, you know, we're on a roll there hadn't into Rochester and, um If I'm not mistaken. We were there just a couple weeks prior to that, and we did pretty well split. Yeah, And you know we're playing pretty good hockey at that point in the season, which is usually, um, what we're known for. And Yeah, when we got that news, it was difficult, but obviously everyone's safety comes first. In that case, Did you come right back to the Academy? What was what happened? What happened with the cadets? Yeah, we s o. The cadets went home that night. I think the next morning that we found out um and then we were on. I think half the team was on one plane back. Um, maybe one or two days later, and the rest of the team was following up there closely. So we were back at school within two or three days. And were you were you? How long were you at school before you finally logged allowed to leave? Um, 12 hours? Yeah, not even. They said, get on the first flight. Really? Get out of here as soon as you can. How different was your summer? Um Yeah, it was really different. You know, Um Pretty pretty restricted. I mean, Ah little bit of golf here in their outside. So you were home. It was contract. I was home in Florida. Yeah. Okay. Um, yeah. A little bit of golf. A little bit of swimming. Um, tried to get some Russell's like a vacation. I know. I know. It wasn't too bad Did you escape? Yeah, yeah, we little bit of skating. Obviously, you know, most of the stuff was closed there for a while. But I came back pretty early in the summer to school just to get all that quarantine and, uh, you know those restrictions out of the way early. And we had ice here. You know, the gym was open here. So we were able to have a pretty normal summer. Um, in regards to hockey and working out, Alex Maynard. I know you were close to the seniors. Everybody was So how? How tough was that At the end of last season, the way things ended in Rochester. Not expected, So, I mean the seniors expecting toe make another big push. You know, I was there. Everyone was on the team and Just getting out of their control and just getting cut off shore. It was tough lot of sad bus rides to and from the hotel to the ring to the airport. And you know, it just kind of parting our ways coming back to the academy and not seeing them again. Haven't seen him since. Really? So, Yeah. Yeah. I mean, how was your summer? How different was your summer? Yeah. No, it was definitely different. Haven't had one like that. Since, you know, high school. Were you swimming in golf in like live over. There was maybe not son Empire, but I was golfing and skating a little bit. And, uh, I live in Minnesota and next North Dakota, so North Korea was pretty lenient. So, yes, Ice rinks open and Jim's. Were you pretty much home the whole summer? Yeah, I was on the whole time. When did you come back to Colorado? So around the end of June s O having left sense, but So you're probably ready for Christmas? Yeah, We're pretty excited to see the parents, you know, senior year. That's a little unusual where they usually come to the games and Washes senior year hockey but now they're watching from the couch at home. So how different has the school the academic side been? You started out and we weren't the regular classes. Yes. Oh, yeah, It was kind of different than the way regular schools working. We were in class. In our groups, and then all of sudden we started going online. Um, so that was all 100% online and We're doing classes from our rooms on the computer. So what are the challenges of online learning versus classroom? Yeah. You know, the teacher helps a lot here. They're super helpful small class sizes. I'm just in person on the White board, right and stuff more personal. And you know, the computer doesn't have that aspect. So Makes a little more difficult, but you know a lot of smart kids here, so we figure it out. You figure it out. That's good. Yeah, we need to take another break. We're gonna continue visiting with Alex Maynard and Jake Levin shot note was gonna be joining us too. This is the Air Force Hockey coaches show with Frank's territory. I'm J witchy, and you're listening to the Air Force Sports Network from Littlefield I MG college presented by U. S A. Get ready for big savings during the.

"Corner. Falcons keep the pressure on Bowery has it dumps it on the back wall and behind the intended receiver. They're taken away. Bye Team Musa taken right back in the neutral zone by the Falcons. Tough angle shot down low on the goal line. Homer got a piece of that one centering pass by air force from behind the net and nobody home. The puck goes all the way up the ice and Alex Maynard escape back and retrieve it. Couple of ticks under eight minutes to go in period number one cadet. I Serena Jane Ritchie would take taller. No fans, of course here tonight On the attack here, Jake Marty leaves him out for air Force. Marty takes it up the right side. Down deep reverses it over here on the near side Coming off the goal line with it. Andrew Cruise gets it to Billy. Do mind the corner Duma to Marty is a rotate in the corner. Marty skates out of the corner with the pub sends it back low again. Maynard picks it up on the half All Maynard centers from there goes through traffic hits and bounces all the way out near the blue line. Ah, shot from there. By Jake 11 Block The ricochet ends up deep in the Air Force and going after it is Dylan Duke, who just scored You can almost coughed it up does now and air Force goes right back on the attack. Here's Bennett Norland breakaway. Got a couple of steps comes in. Makes the move shot. Save rebound comes back to him. He keeps it in play gets it to Max Harper. Harper tried to work his way between defenders and they stripped him of the puck. There's a parked all the way up into the air force and played by Zack, Iraq. Out my past, broken up and stolen away here by Team USA, taken right back by Air Force Plan and Cook stepped in front of ST Louis. Cook will lift it into the air. It lands deep. In the Nationals end and a takeaway down low by well, Gavin. He took it away from three different players. Wins it over here to the near side. And it's in the Zamboni corner reverse to the opposite side. It's a little quieter there, keeping at the blue line by Air Force. Dump in allows the Falcons to get some fresh legs, not on the ice. And here comes Team Musa back the opposite way. Falcons cut him off at the pass defensively and get a takeaway Sam Brennan. Gives it to bride. Bride breaks in games, The blue line top of the circle. His shot is deflected into the corner. We got a penalty coming up here. Had a touch up that center ice, finally stopping play that scene with the calls all about I will tell you after a time out 5 42 left on a 11 tie that cadet I Serena tonight. "The whole Focus has changed a lot in the past seven or eight months for not only Eric Marsh, but for athletic trainers everywhere. The workload is definitely increased significantly on it started back when we were still in quarantine. After we had the initial shutdown s o. We were already starting to work on. How are we going to return to sport? And you know this is pre testing and there was a lot of question marks and Eventually worked our way through it. So we were able to come back, at least get the kids practicing again. Once they get back into school, trying to keep him and get him in line with these protocols and trying to get him in a new habit, a new way of life that they're not used to But as things have gone on, you know I have to do the screening. I'm part of the testing. But you know, I don't feel that bad because I look at what's happening with our Team positions like Doc Jackson. Dr Weir it that they're doing all sorts of testing all the time, and they're gonna have to work on the wing and everything. So my workload is increased. As far as I don't do just the sports medicine injuries with this covert thing, But I find it hard if I would wind about it, looking at what some other people are doing. Let's talk about two testing how extensive it worked, honey tests well. We have. Ah, we're required by the NC double a to test three times a week. So on Mondays we do a PCR test, which is the gold standard right now for testing for Potvin, 19. And then we have to answer gene tests on Wednesday and Friday and there they are. Good tests are not as good as the PCR, but if you put them in a collective grouping The body of work of three negative tests. Is it pretty solid indicator over that week period of time of where you stand positive or negative for covert other than the test? So what other precautions protocol? Well, every day, the players have commanding it screen. They have come in the answer some questions. There is such as Have you been around anybody with covert? Do you have any symptoms? Things like that, And they get their temperature taken every single day, which isn't too bad for them. All they gotta do is lean forward. Let me scan it, but I have to keep those records. We have to produce those for the league and teams were playing if upon request, and then we're required before each contest. Sand and at best statement that says, Hey, we're negative. We don't have anybody with symptoms that has to go to the league office the opposing team and are in our administrators as well. He is a different on the road. It is because you know, people are staying home, You know, were hoping they stay home until we get beyond this s O. When we were in the hotel. It was kind of strange. It was very deserted. Uh, most of our meals now are in the hotel and the mask wearing is the hardest thing for kids to adjust to. You know, they do still feel they're young, but they want to play hockey and they get on board with doing what they gotta do, And it shows that masks do help and if it's going to give him the best chance We've got to control all the situations we can control. Whether you believe in masks or not. It gives us the best chance play hockey Week to week. Okay, So what happens if somebody fails the test? Somebody fails the test. So if it's the anti Jin test, we then send him up on the hill to see Dr Jackson and then they take what's called a rapid PCR test. If that confirms that their positive then they go into isolation for 10 days, or those symptoms are gone. But then the real work begins because then we have to back trace who they came into significant contact with, and that's the one that takes. Ah, lot of players down is we gotta Corentin. Anybody that was in Close proximity for over 15 minutes, and that could take down several players, and that's two weeks. You have to wait that out because we have to allow and see if the disease actually progressed in that individual. How we doing So far, you know what we have done pretty good and a lot of that is on the effort of the kids and a lot of its luck. We had two positives, probably a month ago. They were both roommates, though, so we were able to campaign it and it didn't outbreak to the rest of the team, which is our biggest fear, because once it gets in the team, it's in the team. We did have a lot of kids go down and have going to quarantine so we were really shorthanded for those two weeks of practice, but we came back. And we just got done with our third round of tests and everybody's negative before this Robert Morris Erie's So We're hoping things continue in a positive manner for us. All right, Marty. Thanks So I'm sure we'll be talking again. I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of news is this year goes on. So thanks a lot, Jay. You go. That's veteran Air Force hockey trainer Eric Marsh has really become a covert rock star. In these days of the Corona virus, we will take a break and we'll come back with more in our second animation.
