"Standing there. He tells me it's not hard. It's not hard. We go through it with Dr before. Hey, these are the three plays. Do the third downs. So what happens after the three players when you have a seat Because we were watching one where Dal was talking to Frank Polich? He wasn't calling the plays. You were part of the game, was it? Wanted that I was the third quarter. Yeah. When we got down that I was trying to do some of the two minutes I love in the beginning, Gates is like, Yeah, I wasn't calling the place and the reporters like we sold the coordinator. Just doing nothing on the sideline like you were obviously calling the plays like their cameras on you. Adam gazed at all times. Just amazing. I don't call the place. Well, I only call the third down, right? Oh, that was a two minute situation, right? S o. The Dolphins beat the Jets 23 to a miss This game Fitzpatrick started didn't have to do a whole lot. But the Dolphins get the wind there now. 74 Jets photo in 11 and make no mistake, the only reason gay still has a job. Cause they have no interest in winning anything because they want Trevor. Large threat. Move. It's the right move. Keep Adam Gates. That's your best chance to get the number one pick and get Trevor large. Next up, Go to Atlanta. This was kind of a predictable let down stop spot. I thought for the Raiders. I was. I hope Kyle Quinn did not go with his instincts here because he liked the Raiders. I was trying to talk him out of it. Um, but the Atlanta Falcons crush the Raiders 43 to 6. Um and not a good day for Jon Gruden and company. Uh, Falcons. Now. Foreign seven, Raider six and five. Most. Do you think the Rangers air for real? It certainly didn't look like it In this game. There are very confusing team. And I I feel like no, They're not real because we've seen Derek Carr kind of play this all over the place going away. He's a very inconsistent quarterback, right And there's some good weapons around him. But Henry Rugs hasn't really done much. Nelson Agler has been his top targets. Go is having a good year. He's having a good year. But it's there's too much inconsistency.

"They'll speed that process up. But as we look at the freighter's team right now, Having had to rebuild the entire roster, offense and defense. With so many holes in 2018, you're seeing an offense. That's just a step or two ahead of that defense in the hope with the Raiders is that that defense will close the gap here Pretty soon. You get some young talent there. I mean, Crosby looks like he's gonna be some trade. My mother looks like he's some and Jonathan Abrams. He's you know, he's interesting, but you know, the Raiders identity over the last couple of years has been that offensive line. It's been, you know, the envy of the league, one of the top offensive lines in football, if not the top offensive line in football. Been in this game there gonna be a little short handed. It looks like what's the latest on that offensive line there? Yeah, it's been shorthand of the entire way. They've had three plays literally three plays this year with the Starting offensive line. You're the five men that they thought we were gonna be out there and they had pencil. Then they've gotten three players out of that group trip. Brown. It's just been a struggle. Keeping their big right tackle on the field when it was catfish. You now the complications with covert 19 1 Game one complete game for the writers the share, Then you go toe Richie Incognito's with the last six games with an Achilles Colton Miller, who's been a just a workhorse for them Mrs for the first game of his career last week against the Chargers. I'd be really surprised he's gonna give it a go asleep wake up on Sunday morning to see if he could play on Sunday. But kind of a long shot. That cold was gonna place and now you're down. You're right Tackle your left tackle your left guard on possibly gave Jackson he didn't practice today was out with the sickness. He's questionable for Sunday. That would be a devastating loss if they don't get Gabe, but somehow some way They've been able Tomo figure it out. Tom Gabel Cable has done an outstanding job mixed matching and doing some patchwork moving guys around to finding to be able to find a combination that at least keeps the head above water. For the Raiders often. So what could have been a catastrophe with all these, You know, Miss games and injury than illness hasn't been as detrimental as you would have imagined. They've been able to be an anchor for this offense, even without their starting caliber players, and they're hoping they're keeping their fingers crossed. At some point, Trent And Richie get back. And obviously Colton and if they could play, you know the last five or six games, you know, with that offensive line intact. They're gonna be really grateful for that. But we'll see if that you never get to that point. It's a month and you're our guest here. Couple more questions here for you. So one of the things that I think is gonna come up over the course of their careers is the decision that the Raiders made to draft Henry rugs instead of Jerry Judy. And, of course, it also is compounded by the fact that they're playing the same division. So the comparisons there are who is going to be more productive. Now. I think Broncos fans are pretty thrilled about Jerry Judy my Coast, Benjamin Albright was pounding the table for Henry rugs. So far. What do you think about what When Henry rugs has brought to the Raiders, and do you think that it's it's fair that these two guys even though they kind of have a little bit different games, little bit different styles. You think it's fair that their careers are basically gonna be matched against each other for the rest of time. Well, Benjamin. I were on complete opposite tables on that because I thought the Raiders should've drafted Jerry duty, but I get what they were doing with Henry drugs and the speed factor. And if you look at how their first you know, years of their career, and I suspected it was gonna be the case throughout. Just go back to what they did at Alabama. They were teammates and one was the high volume. You know your targets and catches and Jerry duty. The other guy was Henry Rugs didn't give many catches. What was explosive with the ball was a game changer scored a lot of touchdown. Be a relative toc touches, you know, average high per catch average in terms of yardage. I think that's exactly how it's gonna play out in And in the post, they complemented each other at Alabama. I think in their own way, they're going to compliment whoever they're playing alongside of the teams up there with draft, you know, astutely around them and add other pieces at the wider Syria position. They're going to be able to impact their team and their wide receiver group, much like they did. In college. So while I get that they're gonna be compared, But I don't think the comparison should be. We're gonna be accurate. If you just look at the numbers, you have to look at the impact that each player is having on their particular team and in Henry rug, this case when he's been out there This offense is just better when he's out there. That doesn't mean that he's getting all these gaudy. You know, catches and statistics and all that, but he does something for this office and you can ask no finagle our and Darren Waller and Hunter Renfroe and Josh Jacob's All those guys would attest to the fact that when Henry's running down the field or dragon, you know coverage with him across the field. They feel it because there's less attention being paid to them. And Nelson Agler is a guy that you know benefited greatly in a lot of one on one coverage is down the field because Henry's drawing help on the other side. That he's that he's having an effect. And then if you look at their car, um you know, there's been some a little bit couple of little pickups in some, you know targets to Henry down the field, but they've hit on a couple of them. And it's also opened the field like I said for Nelson, angular, so if you look at their the impact that he's had on their card is completion percentage down field is the best to his career, and I have to believe Having Henry out there impacting the way defense's defend. The Raiders has had a great impact. So I love Jerry Judy. If they give you have a tremendous career, but for this Raiders team moving forward. I think they're going to be really happy with drugs as well. Yeah, I don't think there's really a wrong answer, therefore, that that draft pick at 12, but I mean, I'm kind of with you. This was this was such an interesting decision even for fur ball teams, because I mean the argument there is if we say we flip this thing, and I mean, I think the Raiders are pretty thrilled about jury duty right now and what he brings. As a complementary receiver to the talent you have there and the Broncos to be pretty thrilled about Henry rugs and his ability to stretch the field. Now Katri Handler is supposed to eventually be that guy for the Broncos. We just really haven't seen a lot of that. But I liked your sort of..

"Let's run back. Running back at least one more year say going forward. There's also the problem of Erlach INS and my shines Allen Free agents those are building blocks. Yeah and then you obviously have edd's monster contract you always if we Give EDP, that contract for the next fifteen years but. I wonder if if that's GonNa be something that coach. Tibo. Coach slash GM Tiba can convince the players to do to say. We're going to give up a little bit of money next year. So we can want to. We could run this team back and see if we can win a title altogether especially if that Seattle, team is Taylor Yeah I think this team would be chomping at the bit. Yes, them especially. Especially, when Tasha clouds'll toy sanders being reserved quote unquote that they can only negotiate the mystic I think it would behoove right I'm to sign a one year deal Even if it's slightly less than what they could get. Him To, come back and make sure that they're. Free agents next year, and so they can run a back and try to get try to get those storm which I know I mean you know that team is chomping at the bits. Mattress Storm. No doubt you know. I. Just think that like you said, you mean Washington has draft picks for twenty twenty one, you know they traded their first round pick to New York and then their second round pick and third round Pick York as well to get a team chart here and I just think that I you know for Washington and coach T. Bo he has said that still Johnson could be. That for us in. Obviously she she came out of Ryder was rookie this year but he's he's saying that slot that we missed by giving up, you know those three pigs. I think she's a viable option and too bad. She rolled her ankle and was out of the last part of the season but while she came in and was certainly impressive. So I just think that you know plugging her in plugging in Misha Hides Allen after the season that she had second team all Wnba this year Nario Atkins all defensive team as well a accolades for postseason but I just think that you know the confidence that that has come from the experience that these other young players have gotten doesn't players are missing and then you have Stella Johnson who's coming in wide-eyed ready to go and work hard with these vets who have you know like you said championship pedigree and mentality They're going to be chomping at the bit to give back and get to the postseason and get those finals again and and run it back again. So it'd be the shirts say run back or the Hashtag or whatever. But I I? Back Tobacco that doesn't work now because we've already has season, but he hasn't figure something out. On twitter but. By the I just think that you know with those players who are reserved. and. There's they're suspended contract expired players. I think that's going to be intriguing as well. to see what happens with Stick Elena Coats. She. Sticks. Bellows like those those players you know who knows who knows what that looks like for Washington but Jackie Jenkins. Interesting. She did she did and the thing about her is her fight that stands out to me. I, said that about the whole team as a whole on and off the floor but jacket, you wonder story man come on you know eight knee surgeries in five ACL's in fifteen years of playing a game that she loves. To end up in the WNBA I just think you know it's such a great story and up and stay healthy to acid healthy and stay healthy for sure but she's kind of like her as a as a twelfth twelfth woman here break glass in case hey, we're down by fifteen. Let's get Jackie in their SCHMO. She hits five threes. You never know, hey, she can go off. So. Very, interesting summer here for the mystics and. Tiba we trust right like that's right. He's the guy who knows what he's doing. and. The I mean, when have adult on? Makes yes. Ye- very quick very hard decisions however when you have lived on coming back L. P.. Makes Life. A Lot, easier. As, rock and roll time I can't wait. For the season you know I don't know how they're going to do the parade I. Know Fans Name. Never got the parade and just like the La Lakers fans now are like we are not getting the parade or whatever. But I you know it is what it is for right now it doesn't mean it's forever. Twenty Twenty One You know. Could look. Different. Than I know and I hope that the fans get to. You know celebrate with the entire team and and still give them that in are still gives him that moment and give them like people are saying now that gives them their roses Venus. And the respected a you have to be you have to be safe. We understand that we're not for saying the parade issue but. I think the mystics season last year was so much fun and and to see that group back together again for twenty twenty, one on on the court I think is is tremendously exciting to say the least and intriguing contractually to see how Mike Tibo Air Tibo. Asia Jones a figure out how how things are going to be structured in no financially and I think that's I mean obviously you wanNA keep everybody like I said initially but you know financially, you know there are there are some situations where where the salary cap will come into play when they when they have to choose so. In a good luck to them on that. It's not an easy thing. You know you're looking at all the numbers and. You know the five players who are locked in and that's already What is it say? The twenty twenty one salary cap is is one point three. million. One, million, three, hundred, thirty, nine. So they have they have seven, seven, hundred, thousand. Seven hundred, ninety, five, thousand, two, hundred, sixty dollars up. Four six to seven players. And and those players aren't cheap either so it all be tight fit. Which is why which is why I'm suggesting hey, let's let's all come back for a year. That's the sales pitch. For Year one title, and then we'll figure it out and then after that. Yeah. With Atkins in high down like you said for twenty twenty, two, their contracts coming up. So much to talk about gave as always vat a lot more to think about until we meet again as well. But but a great conversation today with you as always on courtside with Christie and Gabe on the her hoop stats podcast network it has been a blast gave and you know from for week to week I always say I wonder what's going to happen between now and then was so much that happened between today and last week. "Look. The part, right. You've got to look the part whether you pull the shot or not. You've got to be in triple threat you've got to be you know you're not gonNA catch it put over your head. You know 'cause that's like that you're giving in right? So you gotta a catch it ACA shoot. If I want to like, you always have to be a threat. You always have to have an aggressive mindset and I think you know an Emma's doing that she's at her absolute best whether percentages are up or down I think when she stays aggressive. She's the best that she can be and I think you know we saw that. In stretches this season obviously You, know with with the situation being what it was a big. presented a huge challenge for her. To do what she did last year for lotteries. Nigeria, she did get better for the year and. It to me I'm not trying like endless still really great Glenn, but she to me it was like I expected her to be on that shortlist of players who could be you know always whatever the situation was the top scorer, the the best option on championship level team, and she wasn't and like that's not a. Knock hurt just knock on my expectations right like that list basically like a land John. Brennan Stewart Kansas Park right like we're talking about the best players in this league. At that she could have entered she could enter that but she you know she didn't think she'll She'll be fine. I think she's going to be especially if she come back to this team next year, which is what I won't talk to you next rights. Lots of choices, lots of choices coming up for the Washington mystics. So next year, they have five players roster right now. Elena Delle Donne Leilani Mitchell aerial. Atkins may shines Alan Jara. Leslie. Ed is going to be healthy. From everything we've heard. And she she's going to be back and she's on your maximum. Three years after and hopefully forever. Never ever leave. Your good. If we could signed an eighteen year contract that would also be fantastic. We gotTA Sign Wrigley Too. So we've scientifically. Guarantee, Guy. Honestly. Rarely. Wrigley on his hind legs. Yes. Her her great Dane he could put some sauce hind legs. So, we have unrestricted free agents in. Tina Charles John Hawkins ememy and aerial powers they're also reserved. Players kind of like reserve players are typically players who would be in their rookie scale contract. But for whatever reason, where cut from a different team signs I'd be St John's succession a shook sutton exceeding at or a player who was had their contracts spend because opted out instead of got a medical exemption, those players also and can only negotiate mystics. So Hooray. Natasha, cloud choice can only negotiate the Mrs Right. So those are your big free agents there had no draft picks. Yeah. Because of the roster right. So Big choices coming up this season. Of of the free agent signing and odd named the the the veteran free agents again UPN Charles John Hopkins M, Amusement Aerial Powers Latoa Sanders Natasha cloud of those six. WHO's the One? You're putting the most emphasis? Who's WHO's your priority? In the offseason Hey, first of all, all of them second of all. You have to pick one. I do. I would say area powers is the one that coach. Tibo has said you know we're really focused on on getting her re-sign. First and foremost and I think Tina Charles, you know he has a short of the media and saying coach Tebow has assured the media that Tina Charles wants to be back in DC wants to play with this group, and that's why she wanted to leave New York come here and I just think that. For aerial powers to be the one. I. Think she's such a lynchpin when it comes to that energy and how she is. By, being and and and feeling the energy flow with an Tasha cloud like the two of them on the court together are monsters and they feed off of each other and they give energy to the other players on the court and I just think she has such a tremendous upside as well. In terms of her overall leadership, not just statistically against saying that But I just think that she really brings up passion and love to the floor and. She plays I just think that it just you know I would love to play with her. I would love to play with. So yes, my Tibo said that, but I'm saying for my saw I would love to play with her just because of the energy that she gives the positive mindset that she carries in spite of adversity like she's always there to give you a positive energetic. Word and and she's encouraging. So I think that the other player would be obviously be a me salmon. And you know who knows what? That's GonNa look like for. The Olympics being moved from twenty, twenty, two, twenty, twenty, one. Zero was euro euro basket. Your best. There's yeah. You're a basket and those games and tournaments the she missed some time. For, not just last year obviously missing the championship season with the mystics but the season before you know, she missed a chunk of time when she was with the national team so. I mean I, and that's that's going to be I. think that's the most convoluted decision that the mystics have to make. Or that Emma.

"This year. I think. I every it everything. You just said the thing that I was happiest with for the for the mistakes and obviously we're mystics homers like we live here we cover. Hey, we're there all the time like this is this is one hundred comers but. They showed. Championship mentality and every single aspect of what they did whether it was on the court dealing with injuries in dealing with losing streaks and coming back and say, no, we're not going to. We're not going to give up on the season like you mentioned. That that's championship mentality yet whether it was getting better everyday practice when it wasn't going well and saying, Hey, we're gonNA forgot something because we gotta get we gotta get back to winning because that's all we know Yep that's a championship mentality that's a culture. You know a lot of talk about he culture missed culture is there with it? It's. That same sort of deal. That you just never take a day off. You always work hard. You always have the have the next step towards winning I, think off the court this year. They showed championship mentality in terms of what they did for social justice. They just say you know we're GONNA I'm not saying any team did this but like they didn't go along with Reverend and else's doing day blazed the. Trail, right? Yeah. They said this is what we're going to. This is what we're GonNa do this well, we believe especially Aerial Atkins. To me. You know I areas what twenty three now at baby man telling you but boy, the upside is insane right the she's twenty four now. But she she is a great basketball player. But I. Think what we saw from her this year was just leadership in a way that I didn't expect because. I think on teams in in the past couple of years now shows how to talk cloud to to sort speak for her or a Christie tolliver speak I I. Remember Christopher Lashing the playoff saying you know little as going to do a little a does and it was almost and I love that because he her teammates stand up your by I was also like not a love to hear from from Erlach and I want to hear her say what she's doing. I think which he did this year with say. This. Is Important to me, social? Justice. The fight against police battalion the fight to end race some. Those things were important to her and she said, I'm GONNA use my voice for this and push myself here to make sure that people hear my voice. In this situation I think that also then extended to everything else she did both on the court and in the locker room to say on the leader of this team though yet. I think that's GonNa to me. That's what championship culture means is when you have. Players growing and saying I feel comfortable with WHO I am to do something that I was possibly uncomfortable with before. So to me, that was thousand most encouraging thing especially off the corporate, both on the court was this team showing that like? We do have the championship culture we do have championship. Mentality, maturity to continue continue at it. So that's all the good stuff What was your I'll go? I'll go first on the negative side I. Guess. My my negative this year was a little bit. disappointed. In. Season I know she she had to deal with such a different role. I don't want to take away from that because. She went from being. The third, the second or third option. On a very good team with the best player in the world next to her to being the first option. On a team where you know the rest over the talent around her was not necessarily of that of the the greatest quality and also of so much with so much change right? Like she's Houston Tasha cloud feeding her in the post your to Chris Tarver feeding her posters, many different players feeding her in the post but still. She didn't shoot well from the field particularly she didn't shoot wealth three particular. She also missed a bunch of like little bunnies right in the paint I think to me that was all just kind of a little bit of of nerves a little bit of just just rushing things when when you're that first option and to me I thought you know after her performance in the finals last year I thought she could be a first option, and now after this season I'm a little less. Convinced of that. Yeah. I feel you though I was different for Emma but also think that you know it wasn't just the players who she was playing with. And the dynamics of changed, but it was also now okay. Don't have a lane of Delon. The MVP don't have cloud you don't have tolliver. Sanders. Tina Charles was supposed to be here. They're all these pieces missing and then wow. Then you take another piece of the puzzle away with powers leaving you know midway through saw it's like a man listen. She's going to see different kind of defensive coverages that she's used to. Know. Even Belgium I mean she's she's going to see you know double and triple teams. So I. Feel what you're saying and and her shot and Arrow shooting percentage may have been a little bit lower but her minutes were increased as well and the playing every other day. So now you're talking about fatigue being a factor. So you have fatigue then you have double. Triple teams coming at you but then her ability to find players out of double and triple team that was something different for her and I thought you know for her percentage from three and her percentage from the floor in spite of that, not being up to her numbers last year because of who she was playing with and because of the minutes that she was playing. Now. This year it was tougher for her I, think to be as efficient because now. It becomes a physical. Equation you know like okay. Now let's look at the minute she's playing. Now let's balance out. You know her percentages, but it's also the coverages. I think she was seeing a lot of different kinds of looks that way and that's a challenge. I mean though any player who could do that? You peel away you know for starters from from from La how about? Okay. This look at the the Lakers you peel away. For. Starters from that team and now Okay Anthony Davis Lissi, which you do now without Lebron you without know everybody else. Let's go. Let's see what that looks like. I'm sure I'm sure his numbers were drop I'm sure his is time would increase and in the bubble even playing every other day. So I mean and I'm not excusing it. I'm just seeing the whole thing I've seen the whole thing and I think for her I know it was incredibly frustrating. You know she was on those zoom calls to and you saw the on those like she. was like I gotta shoot better and I think the biggest thing for Emma since she's been rookie I think has been to stay aggressive. You catch that ball yes. You're going to see different coverages. Okay. But you've gotta stay aggressive whether you whether you're gonNA shoot it or not..

"Everyone comes in. They know their job. They know who talk to you. They know they know that they can be themselves break. That's what you need to do. Right like that. That's the town of organization you want and then speaking of DC. Let's talk. Let's talk right the transition degree. That was smooth A. I think I think those pretty good up. Yeah. Let's get into. Let's get into DC season in review what they did talk about their future. So Chris was it was the thing that stuck out to you the most a lesser on the positive side will be happy here. It was stuck out to you on the positive side for the team overall season I. Just thank you know the way they started the season number one winning their first three games. I think that was a statement and I. Know You know things happen after that I get it? Okay Losing twelve thirteen gains that I get that. But at the same time I think. They were making a statement like we're still down here even though we're missing pieces obviously for starters not here with US MVP Elena de la Don? Not here with us we get it, but we can still play and Mike Tibo is still holding the clipboard on sidelines as the head coach and GM. So I I love that I love the the feeling after. After the third win in a row right? And everyone was kind of like, oh, we accounted them out but boom here they are I love that feeling and to go along with that the ability to basically have games every other day during that stretch of games to lose aerial powers, three games into that losing streak with a hamstring injury that was it for her for the season. and she was averaging almost seventeen a game at that point leading the team. And she had that energy I just think when she'd left the wobble bubble. You know they could have folded emotionally and set out that's it but there were still some fight left in this group, and so for me I was impressed by the fight I was impressed that coach Tibo said on many occasions on the zoom calls it. We had with him after practices almost daily every other day when they had the Games was was basically, hey, we're looking at the big picture. You know we still want to make the playoffs don't get Sarong we're still fighting for that and we can still get in miraculously feel like with the record that was you know really slipping an avalanche kind of way to the negative. Selva chess make the playoffs so yeah, we're fighting for that and they got in so for me listen. Stella Johnson who came in and knocked in those six threes had those twenty five points and like blew the doors off. And then you have shook Sutton who came in and Said, she wanted to bring poison an interview to the Point Guard position and Leilani Mitchell who just had the team to the playoffs set the table for the squad in. So many ways, Emma meets Aman changing her role, a career high and assist on average the season. For Emma and I I was just super proud of Misha hines alley, an aerial Atkins Tiana Hawkins for taking another step forward in their leadership roles not just statistically. But off the court area Lankans just bringing her voice off the court. For the city, her name initiative, and and really making her point concise and and right there for everyone to hear and to see I just thought it was it was a magnificent season and for my Tibo to get the team back to the playoffs. And and and get in there and fight the way that they did. You know against Phoenix. It was a tough way to go out but I tell you what? They didn't get blown off the floor though they were fighting and although they didn't advance past the first round I would just. For the whole season and I know we had just a couple of segments there that we were talking about. But for the whole season from day one to the end of the day. I believed this team was stretched beyond. Anything that they could have imagined. All on and off the court you know emotionally physically you know I just think that they were stretched beyond and I asked coach Tibo that like what stretched you the most you know from day one to two now and he just said. In, he had players. You know four players gone in a week moving onto the NBA and he had to like hurry up in figuring out the adjustments to be made. So he's like, let's not the first time. You know. So I think he was ready for that kind of challenge. I just think that you know social climate I think stretched all the players in the league but I think for Washington to be in the most powerful city in the world DC and be the team that. Kind of had had the light on them. with Jacob Blake situation and the bullet holes in their shirt I just think that it it just far superseded basketball so many ways, but I'm just so proud of them and the fight that they had on the court through adversity through a huge. Streak of of losing games and then a fight to get to the playoffs, and then once they're in the playoffs a fight while they're there and then fight off the court as well for for justice for all I. I just think that you know you can't say enough about what the mix in.

"In the world? And it's true and it's and it needs to change and I'll keep shooting at. Horn 'cause I want my daughter to be my age and have to be saying the same thing. Or her daughter or her daughter bump that we we don't have time. And you know we just have to have respect for everyone for what they do. And how they do it. Period. Point Blank. The End. I'm sorry for ranting but I know it was great. I had to get it off if anyone was confused about the specific with them, we were talking about. Christie was an undefeated head coach the head coach of an undefeated team in which league was on the Liberty District and the and it was just the Liberty district. We were undefeated thirteen, and now conference play one the channel. And she did not get the head coach of the year which frankly I don't know who want coach of the year but seems ridiculous as you're mentioning but applies it applies especially in this situation where we're talking about. A polk A. Chris Robinson Chris Chris just mentioned fifteen years of coaching experience. Honestly, it's time for that to be recognized yet her to elevated because she's earned, she's earned that spot she deserves that spot and to send the message. To your team and to the League. We're listening and we want we want to we want. Whoever's next if that sought to if whoever is in the League? Coming up next to say, Hey, I can be WNBA head coach because they will see my work and and recognize it like worthy at your worthy and you deserve it because it's not because you get it handed to you because I don't want anything and to me anyway Oh work for but then when you work for it and you do well, then there should be some kind of. Respect given and the respect is given. To the players right and the players who are coming after that you know the kids who are in elementary school who see that little black girls who see that? And not the continuing. To be smacked in the face for what like we? We already know what it is so Yeah I agree I. Hope we hope. I. Hope we get the red decision here from A. And none of this like. Oh. We're looking for the best candidate know like the best candidate is you defined the best canny exactly. If you just say, Hey, we're the best gain. It's GonNa be a black woman guess what the best candidates like. Crazy in thought to just say, Hey, that's what we're GONNA do right? Yeah. You don't have to say, Oh, we're going to interview everyone and talk to every person. nope. Cheryl Reeve did this. Sheared Ed look at her two best coach basketball was. In A. Sorry Erik. Spoelstra, but she'll read the best coach your basketball said. that. She wants to offer all women staff yet she higher. It worked out. Great. At it, I mean, say the two are hiring a i. hope they do the right thing. To see that what that looks like in. A little. While couple of months they need some civility for just wherever you wherever you hire. Make sure you're on the right page with them. please. Make. Sure. They understand your expectations right 'cause like I'm a front office minded person rates on like I'm very like contracts and all. Right the biggest thing is as a as a front office personnel. The organization everybody comes in and they know their job. Yeah. This is your job. This role that you do become in you understand this is the person right like. As ambassador organizations are the same as your work organizations. Exactly. So when you when you go into work and you say, Hey, this is the person I talked to. This is the this is my job. This is what I do. That's what that person does. Right as you need an not true that really is what's happening in Dallas, and hopefully they'll they'll get going I mean gripe bibs at a young. Gm What does this is like fourth or fifth year job. So you know it takes some time to get used to. But that to me is the biggest thing is get someone who's GonNa make sure like Everyone knows what they're doing right and who they're talking to. That's I. Mean that's going to be a key that's going to be a key. Key everywhere. But especially for for Dallas they're young team You know this is a i. think it's an extremely important higher as well. You know for for the careers of those young kids May I think? I have my my nugget of information correctly and I believe they were the youngest team was between them and New York that agewise were the youngest so Come on man it's gotta be a strong higher. It's gotta be like you said, someone who's GonNa mold these young women as professionals. Right. You don't have like a whole roster full of of That's. Been in the league more than five or six years you have these babies man you, gotTa. Get somebody in there who's going to be able to teach the ropes and and get him to do what they need to do a way they can do it. So I think it's GonNa. Be Fun to see what they do they're so you should they should. They should give transition time this you Tibo call to see how he's done it in DC because..

"Who like you mentioned is on staff knows this team a relationship there who I think would be great. And she's been a she's been a Assistant coach now or a she's been a basketball coach for fifteen years. Yeah. Played with the mystics to plenty of experience there. If you WANNA, go someone outside organization that Asia Jones in DC, as much as we would hate to lose her. I think she'd be higher And then you know like you know try to find. The Best Black Woman candidate is I think that's where we are in. WNBA and that's where you should be looking for that. That's what your coaches should be. Yeah. I just think you know when you're talking about this this summer this past season and how you know the statistics came out, you know that over eighty percent of the league. Is, is black women. and. You know I think it makes a difference to be able to have black women represented in leadership roles, not just as team captains on the court, but also on the sidelines with a clipboard and coaching these. Women up I think it's it's a great opportunity right now for Dallas to do that and. You know I. I'm just anxious to see how it pans out because I know I've seen a lot of tweets saying just what you said Gabe is to you know let's hire black woman in Dallas and s the tweet. That's like that's it. It's not long. verbose. Kind of response, but it's like period end of sentence So I think a lot of people are waiting for that same thing that to occur and that same opportunity. To be granted. And earned. To a black woman who will continue to represent the League for what it stands for, and it is for the diversity is for the inclusivity for the. Powerful statements that can be made by representation and I think Dallas again has has a great opportunity to make that kind of move this season or next can hire they can hire all all black woman coaching staff and I promise you. It'll do just as good as having anybody else because you never look at never know the coach a coach can approaching come in to situation and a perfect fit, and then they think teams championship a coach situation look at Brian Agla right like who would have guessed when Brian Agla came into this to this situation with all his with all his accolades with all the stuff that he has done in this league that would be that you'd be gone in two years so. I think like. Give someone a chance to to. Give them a chance because now's the time I think it would also. It would Indira's the word I'm thinking about. I'm not sure if there's a better word like it would create a better relationship with your players is is after everything they've done the summer. For not just themselves before black women writ large. Day We. See You. We understand what you what the work you done. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA do this in this way free Yelm. So I think that's that's we have to I. Think you just Your Police Okay Ryan of Buckwheat that's the that's the personal, and that's what Alicia Clark Aviv find that somewhere on on social or Google it somewhere just her her post game comments. At least you Clark from the Seattle storm I you know she said just what you said. We see you. We hear you you know and she was talking to our black girls in our black women. Because you know it's and I. I'm speaking from Experience I've seen it. I felt it. I have a black daughter WHO's a teenager I I've seen it and I feel it. On her level as well. So. It's definitely out there in terms of. You know they sometimes look at that before they look at. Their credentials or before they look at your abilities before they look at. What they think you can do. Your already place in a box before you even are able to prove yourself, and then when you do prove yourself go undefeated. and. Don't get me started man I I have the coach of the year to year. Yeah. Man I mean and not that I told you this before. Ever I never played for an award like at and I. I would never speak on that as a player like men you shake a hand like this go ahead. Let's go but it's just you know when it comes down to it, you just feel certain way about your efforts not being. Not being seen or heard it's like you're you're busting out here and no matter what you do no matter how well you do no matter how successful unblemished Record and you know you still see that's still not good enough. And it's not about you as what I was told, it's not about you really. It is and it and it will always be like that until people are given opportunities and until people are. Seen for what they have done and what they're capable of doing and and for me that that slight personally for me was not even about me it was about the girls because they're the ones who were saying Oh. Wow, coach like whoa. What what else do you have to do like man? I don't know you know and I feel bad for them because it's not about I don't care like I personally out care but I want them to see that their work is worth and I want them to see that it shouldn't go unnoticed when a black woman does something well. So it's for them and as much as people think I got like she thinks that because she wants out of work no I don't I want our young girls to see that. When they put in the work and they do exceptionally well with it and are undefeated with it. Then, there should be some kind of respect given period and that's what it's about. And the fact that we're still fighting for that, we're still fighting for so many things but the fact that you know we're still fighting that way. I made it just makes me stronger in terms of fighting harder for for justice to be done. You know just across the board and see people for who they are and not necessarily. Anything else like are you doing the work? Did you do the work? Did you? Complete the course. You know it's just like you know you get you turn in all your homework and you get one hundred on everything and you get A. Like? How's that possible? Well, it's not about you. What is it about that? Because clearly I've done the work clearly I I have one hundreds on on all my quizzes and tests, but my final grade is a B. Because of what? That's that's what we deal with as black women. That's what we deal with and it's not fun. You know to be fourth on the totem pole socially in terms of respect and like Malcolm X. said, you know black women are.

"Culture and energy, and they came to the court night in and night out. They got they had progress, which is like. Coming into the season, the thing I want to see from Dallas like of oil if appearance would be great but I let's see progress from. A Rigo to say, okay, a Rica, the star player that we we saw last year issue the person we're going builder I think boom each one hundred percents on. Such as obligate better do we see what she would? She has potential to be of course that he find did he find some other players on that roster that could help the team going forward? Absolutely said to me it was it was more like well, he he completed all the goals came one game short of the playoffs and that's you know I can see why that would be a a an issue by. Certainly to me. It was not based on. Whatever, whatever decision was based on what happened on the court this year. Yeah because it's just like the the things that wanted yet. They're gonNA. Be There's GonNa be a team with a bright future going forward. And Brian's. One of the best coaches in this league I made my can we talk about that a little bit? Outside of you know him being the overall. Top Wind Getter in professional women's basketball were including the AP. L. In this because we know that Mike Tibo has the most wins in the WNBA but Brian Adler I mean he won championships. With the Columbus Quest, he wanted championship you know with with. Was it. And Twenty most most recently he's so he was Seattle in two thousand ten. In LA IN TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN and. Bring it back to Columbus squad. Hey, take it on back. Discuss I mean this is a man who has quite a track record of success right and when you're talking about wins and losses I mean when you're talking about coaches, isn't that what comes up most times right like will have they been in terms of their winning percentage a number of wins while he's been tremendous, he's been at the top of the list. So I mean I'm sure he's going to land on his feet at. I in terms of coaching again I just don't want the game to lose him because I feel like he has such a great mind for the game. He's he's a great coach and I just I'm an advocate for coaches never can I coach? So I, understand how that whole dynamic works but At the same time it's like, no, it's gotta be a right fit just like for players it has to be a right fit and I know you were saying that I mean you're Miami Heat banner talking about Jimmy Butler and and how. Just had to find the right fit and sometimes it's not that I stop sometimes it's stops after that so. Hopefully, he will stay in the game. I. Just don't want that to be it for him. I want him to be able to stay in the game for sure. Yeah just the issue this year is like I. Don't think there's going to be another head coaching job open right like. Not. Right now. I mean, like the only three I could possibly think of that. You'd have to have a change would be Atlanta, but they love nickel and I think the. Coach. Either chat she has she's gotten by from her team. It just hasn't worked out and maybe after no year for not working out then maybe you make a change La could make a change because they've fallen short of expectations but I think they kind of have some excuses as to falling short of expectation Sir and our I don't think he's going back to La there I drafted right? So it's like I don't know What the next move is maybe maybe you know Brian Zeman coaching I'm looking at his resume. Now he took off the two thousand three season in between being the Minnesota Lynx head coach then being Phoenix Mercury assistant that since then he's been working straight through until now, let's sixteen straight years. Work So he may want to take a breather for a year I. Mean you know I if he wants or you can go back to college or it can be an assistant coach all those things. Are there I don't want to speculate too much into a happened especially, I want to get into. The Penny toler lawsuit because that's going that's going to arbitration that stuff we don't know what happened. Those are allegations and Personally I don't. I have no clue. What happened there? Yeah. That was. More came out yesterday about it. You know then I had heard of previously so I. I like you said no speculations there and plus that doesn't if that was if that was an issue, he would have been gone last year. Thank you. So it doesn't, it doesn't matter at this point. But the thing that does matter think is that you got a couple of different things going on here. So I think. As you mentioned. Before we got on Greg Bibs a big personality. I also think Bright Adler is a big personality, those two two guys who Are. Passionate. We've seen the BOCA heated both Adler Games. We saw great big day heated with Fred Williams at the end, the Fred Williams tenure in Dallas There's a possibility of executive I think just both of them being big personalities make them more likely to openly disagree with one hour. Yeah I. Think in DC that happened with Frederick in Dallas came into town and I've known greg he'd worked with the wizards and mystics camps clinics for years with him and you know Great Guy Great Guy. But you know who? Like we said at the beginning like we don't know the inner workings and the dynamics. Of certain situations, right. So we're not gonNA obviously speculate that either. But at the same time, if you're involved in athletics and you aren't passionate, then you shouldn't be in it. So I give them both credit for having that kind of love for the game But again, you know I don't know what the what decision came down to ultimately, and you know we'll see who ends up there and I think that's the question on the table, right? Is who takes over in Dallas and you know I think you know Crystal Robinson is down on staff and knows those players. I think that would be a easy slide over of six inches from one asset, the assistant coaches chairs to the head coach share but. You never know you never know I know a lot of names are getting thrown around. US So poky Chapman get thrown around. I think I'd really like that. 'cause you know. I- hokey. pokey. pokey was the coach in Chicago and twenty eighteen. Got Replaced James, Wade and Chicago before that in Chicago Yeah..

Dallas La Bright Adler Brian Zeman Chicago Greg Bibs Fred Williams Penny toler Seattle Minnesota Lynx Columbus squad WNBA Jimmy Butler Mike Tibo Crystal Robinson Miami Heat US poky Chapman Atlanta Frederick

Except if he does know why, but just won't say because my guys she's not that good. Which I believe is what he thinks It's what I was just not that good. The guy who was the best quarterback in the league is not that good happens. Know it doesn't happen like that. It doesn't happen often like that. It does happen in sports. I mean it just us. Here's another one. He's asked again in that zoom conference call with reporters again. Back to the interception. The article, Whiteside, you know, attempted pass. And he applies the word unacceptable, which in four years in two games, I don't ever remember Doug applying the word unacceptable. You can tell. It's an aggravated coach. You take the interception to J. J. What did you see? And what would be sort of the coaching points to that throw? Yes, certainly on the on that particular play, that that is that is That one's unacceptable that one that one Is not part of the play. You know, it's it's It's a backside progression, obviously, and it's unfortunate that they just goes on and on and on. I mean this and this is all code for I'm really aggravated my quarterback. That's what it is. That's what I mean. John, Don't you hear it that way? Ah, sure. You should be aggravated with himself, too. I mean, like, I wish there was some of that. I wish there was some whether is he does weigh. Just gotta keep striving that that doesn't do it for me. No, You don't have to keep striving. Because you're striving is in effect. What do you want him to do not show something different, John. I mean, I think you're being a little nitpicky there. I agree with you. You can say no, Carson. Whatever approach you're taking with Carson. It's failing. Carson is failing and so by proxy, you are failing. This is going to cost you your job. It might cost me a job. Are they failing with Corey Clement? Ah, climate is not that good. Well, Corey Clement had three plays. Corey Clement isn't going to be on the field of Miles Sanders is health. I mean, did they fail in Nelson Agler? He was pretty darn good night. Not Carson. Good, but he was pretty good in 2017. Now he's not Did they fail? Nelson AGL, or did he fail them? Nelson aglow is in a completely different category. Because why Because I don't think he has the goods. I don't think he has displayed the goods. I mean, you're saying Nelson Agra because he had a good game in the Super Bowl because he had a good game down seagrass season had a good season. Not spectacularly good season, okay, not spectacular. I do think that was like sealing Nelson, as I'm sure it was, But I think we all when we're talking about and that was like a good Number two on an NFL team. There's a difference between a good number two on an NFL team is the best wide receiver in the NFL. I don't write. I totally agree with that. I think my main point And again everyone can weigh in on this, too. 1559 to 94 94. I think my main point. I mean, independent help Doug presented publicly. My main point is, I believe it is so much more about Carson failing Doug and failing the organization. Then it is Doug failing, Carson. Now, John, I know you see it differently, And that's fine. "That's it? Yeah. Whatever. You want to bring up this story. We got Dennis Montaigne, the speaker of the House. He's going to join us. Right after the top of the hour news, But I wanted to read the reaction to the press conference from Mayor Steve Agler yesterday. You know, the governor had a press conference basically outlining. You know how they're going to, you know, possibly passing legislation to crack down on some of these cities that have defunded the police, right? Well, here's what the governor had to say. We have seen the consequences of De funding and dismantling law enforcement and committed is across the entire country. We've seen it in New York and Chicago in Portland and Seattle and other communities, and it is unacceptable to see the chaos unacceptable to see the chaos and Here's what Mayor Steve Adler had to say and feel free to chime in with your reaction at 51283605 90 a quote from the Mayor Steve Adler, to be clear. Austin City leaders have neither defunded police nor support doing so. I'm unaware of any elected official who believes differently. That is the biggest piece of Bravo Sierra I have ever heard in my life that is the ultimate form of gas sliding. It's almost criminal. So confusing. It really is. It's not confusing. I know exactly what he's trying to do. He's tryingto. He's trying to sway those people out there that are concerned about de funding the police. He's trying to lie to him. He's trying to trick them is what he's doing is very deceptive. It's very wrong. It goes against everything that demonstrated that they are deep funding police. There's no doubt about it. Here's the thing. If the's City Council members that are up for reelection win, they're going to be incredibly emboldened to do anything they want in this city man, man, man, man, man, man seriously think about that right and they have a reputation of winning elections. There's a lot on the line this this election locally. I mean, if you're tired of your high property taxes, you're concerned about your taxes going up even more 25% with project connect you're concerned about How much love and safety are peace. Police have on the streets. So very important election is 8 55 here at K. L. B. J. I want to tell you about my friends at the range in south Austin. Or Jace Ting Glor. Voted our Web poll on Twitter. At CBS Sports Radio will do Advanced Analytics and give you the results coming up here later on in the hour. The Bucks are in serious trouble. The Bucks are in a bad way. Milwaukee had a game to against Miami. They were already a one seed reeling after a bad game one loss. And then last night. Trailed For the final couple minute, trailed for a big chunk of the game. And dug themselves a whole in the last couple of minutes of the game. In the last few seconds with one of their final possessions. The Bucks trailing by three Had a very controversial call. Go their way on a three point attempt where I did not think or drag it was Was in violation at all. I did not think that he was He should have been called for a foul. And yet they called the foul autumn on the three point play. And that tied things up which I did not like that. Call it all that the drug had. Fine off defensive position of the offensive player. It's not moving his feet arms in the air. Come on. But then with a tie game and a chance to go to overtime last night Jimmy Butler gets the ball. Of course a couple of seconds Teo to go. Clock ticking down to one buzzer. He gets off a fadeaway jumper for the near baseline. That's no good. But with no seconds on the clock, the refs call Yannis on a touchy foul. The ball is already out of Jimmy Butler's hands. He's he's falling back. It obviously does not affect the shot at all. The buzzer sounds and he honest happens to lightly touch his rib cage with his hand. He's not swiping at the ball. He's not hitting the elbow. He's not hitting a part of the shooter where the ball is coming out. He's not even in the land zone off the shooter for a dangerous play. He's just grazing the rib cage as the shots already gone. I hated that call hated it hated a Game's over. At least regulation is over. Let the players decide. Instead, the whistle blows. Butler goes to the free throw line hits the two free throws, and that's the gay with no time on the clock. Awful. Hated it. But the Bucks also should have never let it get to that. Got the Bucks trailed for big swaths of this game. They need that bailout call anyway on that three pointer with a couple of seconds left. And for Johannes, he is now staring at another disappointing exit far too early in the playoffs as the one seed Last year, At least it was in the Eastern Conference finals. Johannes with 29 14 is a pretty good effort. But for the bucks defensively they were not there. They were not there for the heat. They were not there to make life hell on the heat. And the heat are getting contributions from just about everybody and the bucks aren't It's Johannes. It's Chris Middleton and then A little bit from George Hale. A little bit for Brook Lopez a little bit from Eric Bledsoe, which is fine. But last night had to be for the Bucks a kill shot type of game it had to be. We must win this. This is a must win dominate foot on the.

"Hit out to deep right field. It is up and out a grand slam for Fernando Totti's Jr He leaves Mike trapped behind with his 11th home run of this season. Jesse Agler, the call Padres radio network to Homer's seven R B eyes for Totti's Padres lit up the Rangers 14 to 4. The only with issue was that Grand Slam came out of 30 pitch. It was the eighth inning. San Diego is already up. Seven lot of tempers flare with this when they threw behind Manny Machado on the next pitch. Not East admitted afterwards You missed the take sign next time he's going to take a pitch in that type of scenario, and everybody else is trying to figure out what's the big deal. Dan's response in a walk up two run shot part of full run, ending the Braves up into the national 76 Yankees up their win streak to 10 over the Red Sox, a 63 victory. NFL seems to be a new sheriff in town for the giant's new head coach, Jo judge Quite a first impression and his first full padded workout he made players and coaches take left those consequences on field for making the station in a game of caution. 5 10 or 15 yards. You know what practice Just be consequence so we'd learn out of the old mistakes. Now I gotta admit, we've all seen players. We've all been players at some point Coaches. Have you ever seen a coach? Take another coat? Go take a lap. Seriously. Come on. Come on with this Now, I don't know every staff member, but more as there's gonna have to be an overweight, all offensive line coach or defense of backs coach or something. It's gonna be huffing and puffing, and you don't want to kill him doing laugh because he had a bad, you know, Scheme set up. Well, I know I'm sorry. Look, if Evan Ingram, the tight end takes five penalties in a game, and they feel like there was no attention to detail. Freddy Kitchen should absolutely be doing a lap for that. And if you get to the line of scrimmage in the red zone, and it's you know, third and one at the goal line, and you don't hand the bullets Ikhwan Barclay and you get cute. It's incomplete. The Golden Tate Jason Garrett, take a lap I love this wholesome accountability. Oh, God, this is setting For Joe judged to be like a bad version of Eric Mangini, where he's going overboard, trying to be tough ass and a cub becomes comical. Well, if he blows and does a challenge he shouldn't do. He should take a lap. Two of everything. We're going to close fit coaching staff ever teams, man. One of his players with Sterling Shepherd, he admitted. It's been a long time since he had that type of punishment in practice. The last time I did it by school, but yeah, I'm embracing the change of I'm all for it. Judge didn't stop there. He also took the player's names off the backs of their jerseys, and he gave a interesting reason why quarterback it's under center. I expect it was that shape in the boxers that will line back. I expect that knows that a size on the outsiders and outside backer walked up. So apparently players back into their positions on the Giants and their quarterback reads the names. I was unaware and we're going to find out if the's ways work for Joe Judge, or if he's just the newest name on the list of the bill. Bella check tree that fails. Yeah, no, you know, that's why Peyton Manning was such a magician at deciphering defense is because every time we looked at the line He actually all the defense had backed up into their position. He had recognised them by name of the newer yet to throw and they were already backwards. So is much easier to throw against that defense. When you see a number 24 on defense, internal line of scrimmage. You obviously know that that's a defensive ended, not a quarterback who needs the names. My thing is this. I think we all know why I took the names ofthe right, isn't it just to confuse the media. That's there. That's the only reason I can think of because there's no bearing on the coaches no bearing on the players. It does nothing for anyone other than that poor sap. That's now sitting on the side, where in his mask trying to socially with the other guy that's next to him, and he's got to come close to him ago. Guys who's 34. I don't know who that is. I mean, what is the point of this? Unless he's trying to do the old college thing where the Name on the fronts more important than the name on the back that the players there's no egos around here. There's no identities. Everybody's the same. You're anonymous. I guess that's that's the only other way that this could work more as well. And also there's 80 people in camp. There's only number zero through 99 You go through there. Double issuing numbers. There are guys like sake one Barclay having guys on defense. Where 26 at the same time, it makes no sense. Just issue. 56 0. Wow. Lt is out there. How do you know? Well, number 56. There's no name on the back of the Jersey. So must be Lawrence Taylor. He faked his all out. What else we got, Marco, is that it? That's it. I'll see you guys tomorrow morning. All right. Sounds good. Marco Bloody with our headlines this week for a couple of days as Bogue's is out. And maybe the show audio technicians play the sound into stadiums from ipads containing those audio. Thanks basically functioning as crowd noise DJs, fans will be able to participate from home using the MLB app to clap cheer and even boo. "He's fascinating to listen to, and I agree with you completely that the demeanor The calm the All right, Let's get down to work. Let's make these adjustments. Here's what we need to dio without freaking out about it, And I think I just if I'm a hitter, I'm going. That would be really appealing to me well, and here's maybe is as good a reason from a statistical perspective. Why Dave Magadan? It has been successful Azalea hitting coach wants his baseball career ended. This is a guy who played 17 season 16 You know, service time years seasons in the big leagues. At a corner infield spot, first base of third base. And didn't and he was a line drive guys who didn't hit many homers right and those air positions, especially in his time. He broke in an 86 played until I think 4001 something like that and didn't hit many home runs. If you stick around that long and get a CZ, many babies as Dave Magadan did. You have a real good Feel For the art of hitting. How many career you are exactly right. By the way. Very well done. 86 to 2000 won so 16 years. How many career home runs do you think he has? I bet it's less than 50. It is 42. He never mostly hit in a year was six in 1990 he had 541 at bats. That year. He was a 2 88 career hitter. Now again with the analytics today, I mean, averages and everything. We get that on base percentage of 3 90 career. That's really, really good. O PS of 7 67 pretty solid now, obviously, with the lack of home runs that's gonna affect your O. P s because it's on base and slugging, but still It illustrates the points you're making about his career. And it's not a mistake that that he lasted that long. One of the things I like about, but blacks coaching staff, is that Um, you have guys like Dave Magadan, who have a nice long resume now, both in terms of as a player and as a coach, But all those guys Steve Foster, Darrell Scott. You get stew Coal in terms of of infield play Ron Gideon, a career guy in the coaching ranks. Mike Redmond, Mike Redman all those years, catching and managing and managing It's a wonderful teaching staff. Yeah, and what What impresses me is they seem to be coaches that can communicate well. And if you listen to Dave, talk to us about guys and what they're working on I mean, I think if you're I don't know. I'm not a hitter, right? But if I'm Daniel Murphy, I'm going OK, that if I needed it to be spelled out for me It seems like they've does a pretty good job and Jeff Salazar to of spelling it out. Hey, here's what we need you to work on. Here's what we need you to do. And here's how you go about doing it again. Maybe Daniel Murphy's a bad example because Daniel probably knew that already is a veteran hitter and a guy that That didn't have the kind of year he wanted last year, But it illustrates the style that Dave Maggot and and others on that staff use. And speaking of Murph MAGS didn't relate to it. But Buddy Black did earlier when he said there was no question Murph was impacted by the an injury year ago, and I think from Daniel on down, we're all very interested in seeing what kind of year it's going to be The Logan and Lewis show Jack Corrigan and Mike Rice with you and Buck I grant. We've got the news coming up after the news. We're going to visit with Jesse Agler, one of the voices of the San Diego Padres and We'll get Ah scouting report on what to expect from the pods in this 2020 season..

"Where kids parents would send their kids where they want to go in. The money follows. Yeah, I mean, my child's education on hold by some bureaucrat sitting Austin and who knows what they do? Who knows if they have an education background? They're just a bunch of lawyers running the union. It's gotta stop. Well, here's Here's what's gonna happen. Cody. Thank you so much. You remember back in 2015 done when Mayor Steve Agler I did a big study on systemic racism, Institutional systemic racism in Austin, one of early things he did, and it was basically it revealed according to his words. This city was full of systemic racism everywhere now he never. He has never pointed one systemic, racist institution in the city. He hasn't pointed to any real examples. But hey, did use that breathe or that that report to Ah, well transformed the A P D over the past few weeks, but in that report It also highlighted a few other things that were full of systemic racism. And it included our education system. So I have a feeling that you know, these unions are taking this opportunity because you don't want a good tragedy. Goto waste to get what you want in the classroom and out of the school board, so Maybe That's what the Federation of teachers in the You know, the Texas education. Austin is working on to try to get more out of the school board. You know what I mean? Strike while the iron is hot, hold the kids hostage and get what you can Have the school board and root out all that's systemic racism. That's in the city that long time Democrats on that school board have, you know for a love it under their watch all of it into the mayor's watch it City Hall, all of it under a Democrat controlled council and and school board. All under their watch. Never heard any real accurate ports or reliable or credible reports about systemic racism in an Aye Aye, state Never heard Never heard anybody talk about it. Well, listen it maybe somebody will call and and point out. Some of these rials, systemic racism problems or institutions or policies. We'd love to hear some examples, because if it's true, man, we got to fix it. I loved to fix it. If it's true, everything I've observed over the years is that everything is available to everybody available to everybody out there along the students, all the teachers, whatever you need, you can have it and in some cases East. Awesome, for example, is the example that we pointed out for years is they were Seymour funding on per student, So I don't know. I don't know what the examples are out there. Sounds like we've got a money management problem. A S t. Maybe. Maybe that's a bigger problem right there. Listen. Also in the mayor's systemic racism report from 2015 was real estate full of systemic racism, according to the mayor, Real estate So what does he have in mind? Ah, for the real estate market here in Austin, Texas, to Ah, rode out its systemic racism. Just curious Mayor 51283605 90. Now President Trump. He has made it clear. He wants all schools to fully open in the fall with any appropriate safety measures in place. Ah, here's a quote. We're very much going to pressure on governors and everybody else to open up to schools is what Trump said during a White House round table with teachers, students and administrators. And other health officials yesterday. It's very important for our country. It's very important for the wellbeing of the students and the parents to be fully opened, he says, agreed. You know, Of course it's it's going to be It's going to be, of course, criticized heavily because he's Donald Trump. But but what Donald Trump is he does he talks in very simple terms. He talks in terms that hopefully everybody can understand and very we're using a lot of common sense. And the thing is is, Assi says himself that the risk for these kids is very, very low and those that do get ill if they do recover very, very quickly. And that's where everybody needs to be. And as you said yourself, the only way for everybody to get a real real consistent equitable education is going to be for everybody to be in the classroom, you know, with the with the school district that's allegedly full of systemic racism, as the lefties like to say. I don't think the SD can offer fair, equitable education, toe all students. If it's 100% online. I don't think they can't know. I think kids will fall through the cracks. Some kids will do well, some kids will do OK, and then some. It'll be an absolute disaster. Yeah, and I mean there, There's no there's no doubt about it. But and here's a simple thing that that will be missing. If that happened. It's very, very important for kids to be able to use and learn practice social skills, and that is not happening. If they're doing class online, that is a you can't downplay that I know that's not the main In priority here, but keep in mind. It's just temporary. This is AH, this's a temporary moment. No, but the big thing is, If it's all online, there's going to be there's gonna be thousands of kids locally in Austin that fall even further behind. You're absolutely right. And you know, it will happen very quickly. And you know what? Austin Federation of Teachers, Serifis. It will hurt the people that you try to defend the most poor kids. Jealous faces. Some of these kids are going to be in very, very poor households and with a lot of dysfunction going on in that household, a lot, and in some cases parents that have no involvement whatsoever, if any in their kid's education, so with that kind of household, forget it, man. It forget it. Listen back in March due to the Copa, 19 fears, 75 million students were sent out of classrooms and then onto computers to resume learning from home and teachers and administrators. They You know, they scramble to find the best way to teach online. And to be honest, the SD did ramp that up pretty well. They did a pretty good job of that well, the president said yesterday. If we've learned one thing, the computer will never replace the campus, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director doctor Dr Robert Renfield, he said the agency He's working with state and local officials to help these schools so fully open in the fall. You know, with adults adults, at least if they're working at home, adults still have avenues to get with people to still till the have social contact with and make that happen. It's not the same with kids. It's for some is gonna be way too isolating. And as you said, for some, they're going to fall through the cracks, and they will never be found again. The American Academy of Pediatrics said the importance of in person learning Is well documented, and it goes far beyond academic construction into social and emotional skills. Safety, reliable nutrition and physical activity area go, They say evidence shows that Children and adolescents Haven't been significantly affected by cove in 19 and that they're less likely to be infected show symptoms or spread the infection that, according to Dr Salik goes, a pediatrician for the AP. Hey, jump in here 51283605 90 Todd and don show Listen, I don't know if you are concerned about your electric bill going through the roof. But listen, if you could lock in your electric rates today for the future, going forward in your life, would you do it? The only.
