FBI Doc Alleges Ukrainian Partner Sent ‘Substantial Bribe’ to VP Biden
"Grassley made bombshell claims after reviewing an FBI FD 1024 that documented the informants allegations of an alleged bribery scheme involving an exchange of money for policy decisions between now President Joe Biden and a foreign national. Comer disclosed the informant tip is 2020. Yes, it is Ukraine, Comer told Just the News. This form 1023 involves a business person from Ukraine who allegedly sent a bribe, a substantial bribe to then Vice President Biden. The Biden family frequently visited Ukraine for its respective business. Then Vice President Joe served Biden as the Obama administration's Ukrainian quote -unquote point person on US foreign policy. He visited Ukraine six times while serving six to times Ukraine. Hunter joined Biden the board of Ukraine energy company Burisma in April 2014, two years before Joe Biden stated he forced the firing of Ukraine prosecutor Viktor Shokin, investigated who the company that Hunter Biden was working for. Joe Biden approved an official statement about Hunter's Burisma board position. And despite Hunter's lack of experience in Ukraine or the energy sector, he earned $83 million per month from the energy company, or $1 million a year. While was his son a member of Burisma's board, Joe Biden threatened to withhold, as you know, $1 billion from Ukraine if the Ukrainian government

Bharat Ramamurti Exposes Biden's Agenda in New Debt Ceiling Plan
"It's really unforgivable. Jim, let's do this now. Cue up for me if you would. Cut Hey, it. here's how I know how bad this deal is. Here's Biden economic advisor, Bharat Ramamurti. He's on CNN, Biden's economic advisor. He's on CNN telling everyone, oh, this thing is great, man. This deal is awesome. Basically locks in the Biden agenda. Oh, really? You think that's going to be a good deal for you? Here, listen to yourself. I want to emphasize that it accomplishes three main things. Number one, it takes the possibility of a default off the table, which means we avoid an almost certain recession because of a first ever debt default. Number two, it protects all of the key pieces of legislation that the president signed into law in the last two years. New investments in clean energy, new investments in semiconductor manufacturing, new infrastructure investments that are being seen across the country. And third of all, it protects Social Security, protects Medicare, protects Medicaid, all these important programs that Americans rely on. We think it's a good, fair to the president's desk. Locks in that Biden agenda, man. This is the new deal, not the original deal we already passed. If you're scratching your head in disbelief that what I'm telling you is true, look it up yourself. We passed already a deficit ceiling hike bill called Limit, Save, Grow. That was far more effective,

Debt limit deal heads to vote in full House while McCarthy scrambles for GOP approval
"The debt ceiling and budget deal worked out between House speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Biden has advanced to the full House, where a vote is expected Wednesday. I'm Ben Thomas with a look at its progress. The House rules committee voted 7 to 6 to advance the bill, chairman Tom Cole, an Oklahoma Republican calling it a product of compromise. And reflects the realities of a divided government. We shouldn't allow that to overshadow what this bill accomplishes. It would restrict spending for the next two years while also suspending the nation's debt limit during that time, and the nonpartisan congressional budget office says it reduces deficits by $1.5 trillion over the decade, but South Carolina Republican Ralph Norman also a member of the freedom caucus was disappointed. We had a real bill that was going to make a difference. We did in the original bill. This being watered down is completely takes the teeth out of it. And I see why the Democrats vote for it. I see it now. He and Texas congressman chip Roy, who earlier in the day, said not one Republican should vote for this deal. Join Democrats in opposing the bill's advance. Ranking Democrat Jim mcgovern of Massachusetts accusing the GOP of weaponizing the debt ceiling, saying it's a precedent that will forever haunt the nation. One party can use the full faith and credit of the United States as a hostage to pass their widely unpopular ideas. Adding, someday, hopefully not in my lifetime, but someday there will be a Republican president. And you will remember this moment because what you are trying to do is get things enacted that you could not get done through regular order. Ben Thomas, Washington

The Breakdown
Debt Ceiling Deal Gives Unlimited Debt Until 2025
"All right, friends, well, today, as I said, we are hopefully wrapping up or at least putting a big momentary pause on the macro story that has dominated markets for the past few months. Yes, a deal has been reached in the debt ceiling standoff with both President Joe Biden and Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy making major concessions in order to move the matter forward. The deal on the table would suspend the debt ceiling entirely until the 1st of January 2025. Presumably this puts off the next dispute over federal borrowing until the middle of that year and uncapping the debt limit in the interim. The core of the argument is a two -year cap on federal spending, although each side is presenting the story slightly differently. The White House claims the spending cap would reduce spending by around $1 trillion over while the GOP argue that spending cuts are twice that level. New York Times analysis puts the spending reduction at around $55 billion next year and another $81 billion the following year. So let's talk about what's actually in the deal. The set of tradeoffs in the deal have caused outrage among numerous groups of ideologically aligned lawmakers and special interest groups on both sides of the aisle to the point where there are few truly happy with the compromise. Now that of course might mean in America's polarized politics that it's actually a good compromise deal. IRS funding has been cut, with $20 billion of the $80 billion in additional funding to bolster the tax department now being repurposed to fund discretionary government programs. And what's worth noting here is that early in the negotiations, this IRS funding was a red line for the president. You will no doubt remember when he said that he would not accept any deal that benefited quote wealthy tax cheats and crypto traders. Another aspect of the deal was that work requirements for food stamps recipients will be expanded. However, the cohort of people this will affect appears to be small. Only impacting recipients aged 50 to 54 while exempting veterans, the homeless and people who grew up in foster care. However, negligible the effect on the budget, the expansion of work requirements within the benefits program was an important symbolic policy for hardline conservatives. And small as the concession might seem, there are still many on the left who are very, very against

Hedonic Adaptation: Why Happiness Doesn't Last
"So this phenomenon of happiness peaking and then quickly going back to the previous level, well there's a name behind it. It's called hedonic adaptation. To walk me through it I'll teach a course called Applying the Science of Happiness to Life. Her best -selling book, Happier Hour, walks through her seminal research on happiness and she's here today to talk me through hedonic adaptation. Here she is explaining it. So hedonic adaptation is our psychological propensity to get used to things over time. So when you do the same thing again and again, you do the same thing over a long period of time or you're with the same person over a long period of time, that thing or that person starts to have less of an intense effect on you. That is, we get used to things over time. We are adapting. As Cassie says, hedonic adaptation affects all walks of life, including love. In her book she shared a study which analyses the happiness of hundreds of individuals over a lifetime. This allowed the researchers to see what happens to happiness before and after someone gets married. The data revealed a mountain -shaped pattern that peaked on one's wedding day. The data showed an incline in happiness in the two years leading to the big day and afterwards a steady decline in happiness right back down to the baseline level of happiness. Within two years individuals went from this peak level of happiness back down to a baseline, the baseline that they had in the two years before their wedding day.

Biden, GOP reach debt-ceiling deal, now Congress must approve it to prevent calamitous default
"A debt ceiling deal has been reached by President Biden and the GOP now Congress must approve it to prevent a potentially disastrous U.S. default. Negotiators agreed to some Republican demands for increased work requirements for food stamp recipients, but stopped short of greater spending cuts overall that Republicans wanted, House speaker Kevin McCarthy calls it an agreement in principle worthy of the American people. As historic reductions in spending, consequential reforms and lift people out of poverty into the workforce, Rey and government overreach, there are no new taxes, no new government programs. In a statement, President Biden says the agreement represents a compromise, which means not everyone gets what they want. Central to the compromise a two year budget deal that would hold spending flat for 2024 and increase it by 1% the following year in exchange for raising the debt limit for two years. Support from both parties will be needed to win congressional approval before a projected June 5th government default. I'm Julie Walker

"That we in traditional medicine, they're really little to offer functionalism provides a great doorway for people to start to think about their health differently. Yeah, I think you've done some really amazing amazing work over the years. You've been such a pioneer. You have the work that you did that you and Patrick Hanoi did at the Cleveland clinic, getting so many people access to functional medicine. The work that you're doing on the policy side with The White House and the food fixed campaign. There's so much it goes so deep, right? Because if you were talking a lot about autoimmune today, but if you just clean out people's diet, like you're talking about, which is a big campaign and I love that Cory Booker is out there talking about being sugar free and so incredible to see. But if you do those basic things, not only do people feel better, but their tendency to then go on and have autoimmune disease to have cardiovascular disease to have diabetes to have cancer. I mean, we're basically just turning that down, right? And that's just, you know, that education in that personal experience to get that into the hands and the mouths and the forks and the homes of all these people across the world. It's really just such an incredible gift. So I just thank you for that Mark. Yeah, well, thank you. We all kind of are doing our part and trying to make this, you know, basically the standard of care. It takes a minute. There's something about not letting I think most of that statement is true. There's something listen in all seriousness there something about when you feel like everything's breathing down your neck. It's hard to just get perspective. Yes, it is. And you know my my husband If I can interrupt really quick. My husband has a wonderful job. He loves his job. The mentally um, you know, I guess we would just have to. That's why we I would love to to relocate to a different, you know, different states. But he loves his job, and I'm very happy. That would be a different discussion. And we've been having another conversation for another time. That's a conversation you have with. And you know what if y'all did that, leaving a rental property behind be easier. That is very true. So let's let's get this part straightened out and then let's make the decisions later on his career. Okay. Do you hate the house, or you just don't want to live in that town anymore. You wanna move away? I don't want to. I don't want to live in the town, you know, to be honest with you. Is it the house that I mean, I understand. I understand You're not leaving because he's he's got a good job. We've already established that right? At least now. I love the house. I love the house and the fact that it has everything. We're short a bedroom, but that's not a big deal, you know, but it has things for the kids like it has a pool, So I mean, it is. It's a great location at Central to everything. I think I don't like the house because I feel this mortgage is like the great cloud goes ashamed over three. That's right. Okay, Well, let me Okay. Let's let's reset then because I'm getting new information I didn't have earlier. All right. So what would happen if, um You re financed. And you stay. You promised yourself. We're going to stay two years. I could totally do that. And do you like the house then? Probably not. I probably move after two years or now. After two years. I mean, this week you would move inside. Let's say your husband kept his job Would you move inside West Palm? No, no, no. No, I would not. I want to move so we want to move out of West palm. So Heather, let me tell you this. Your husband loves his job, and he's making good money. He's where Promise you more than his job. He wants a spouse who Loves her life. I think you'll need to have that conversation. Yeah, we're gonna have to. We're gonna depend back and make the decision on this job in this West palm thing because you're getting all this confused back and forth. That's right. Every time I go around the bar and you go through a different door,.

"Do at this point during their votes at the self interest right. These people hate his guts. They were chanting racist. Chants while you know she holding signs about how bad he is. He's never going to win them back right but also because in a very unusual like an odd way and this is a much longer conversation bet who is a man of many contradictions. Bennett wants to be a conciliator When he was the head of the settlers council for short period of time. What are the reasons eventually lost job as he went into and showed up at israel's two thousand eleven social justice protests that were against equality and tycoons and the high cost of living this was a left wing movement and he showed up because he wanted to be in dialogue with those people when israel had protests against police abuse of ethiopia jewish israeli community Which has some powerless to some black lives. Matter activism in america bet it again was like the remember who showed up to stocking. He wants to bring these people together with. The question is is conciliatory. Approach include the arab community and so government does writer so does that also include over his political approach and there are ways to be and there happened in israeli history wing israeli leaders right wing israelis like the outgoing president reuven rivlin right who embrace the israeli arab community within a light framework. Like that could be a more like. We want to have some sort of confederation with the palestinians in the future right. There are different approaches. That are different from the two state solution. For example that see both populations the equally and bet. It's going to be you know faced with this choice and the question will become. Which will he choose of course after two years than we have and we know which way he chooses. And so yeah so. That's the next four years. Yeah well this like you. Because look i think in in washington and around this set of issues in general i think cynicism is often thought of as being smart or savvy but there is this potential silver lining. There is reason to be hopeful here. about a better future for palestinians and israelis people after netanyahu is gone. So thank you for doing the show. Everyone check out your substance dot com. She was there that night at the hall of fame dinner. that's fantastic. Yeah it was really cool. It was really cool and she was the one who actually drove me up to the university of michigan to help me talk my way back in after you've been ousted for bad grades. Exactly right i am so your friend helps you. Get a gig at riff. And what made you decide at this point. You wanted your magazine incredibly well and running there. you said they're publishing research publishing for radio right for radio. Which is a huge gigs. He rose through the ranks. There really quickly. What about riff. What made you decide at that. Point to kinda jump from the research side of the business into programming. So maggie was the kind of place that honestly. You didn't spend your whole life there unless your name was frank maggot. After two years. I had really done a lot and it was becoming clear to me that if i didn't get online radio station experience. I would not be able to do as well as i needed to do. I just felt there was a piece missing. You know having not really worked in a radio station before. And so i did the study for riff and they loved it and tom came back to me and said you know. Would you come to work for us into this stuff all the time and it was like a dream come true so i took it and you're back in your hometown back in my hometown and the station was in in the trailers at the time. Those people who know detroit radio know that rare even though it was owned by abc whereas actually in a little building connected to three house trailers and was killing it in the middle seventies. It was just just an amazing time. And so yeah..

"You know, we're hoping that more kids get fully vaccinated and hopefully we can take these mass off. It is a concern in the heat of the day at this point in in, but our but our kids are adjusting. And we, you know, our kids just want to do anything to play. So we are still mask wearing when it comes to all of our sports, so baseball center fielder has to wear a mask. At this point? Yes, Um you're playing gold and and everybody in the twosome, The caddies and everybody else has to wear a mask playing golf. Yeah, Anybody that's related to the schools. Yes, they do. And that's what you know. There was a comment from a coach's says, Um, we're on five acres of land, and there's only nine people out there in the fields and we're wearing mask and that was a close that was in the paper the other day, you know, but you know it is what it is, and we will follow the governor's orders. And we will respect the orders and CDC and because we want to play ultimately want to play sports and and, you know, we talked about back in January of February that we didn't even know if we get to play and We are playing and that's what we need to focus in on that we are having games. The kids are able to play mask wearing or not mask wearing. We're just excited that kids had a season and these seniors especially can go out smiling that they did get to play. As you know, Spring sports did not get to play last year. So just to see these kids play this year after two years, like I said, wearing a mask or not wearing a mask. It's um It's just rewarding to see them Now. I'm not going to say you really picked on and and, you know, socially abused, But do you get Do you get gratitude to get parents or athletes or coaches? You know, telling Telling you job well done. Great job. I hope you know, I think Yeah, and I appreciate that when they do you know, you look back and you do get that. But you know the gratification. Like I said, as the kids when the kids are out there smiling and competing, That's all the the thing that you just need to see that and you, You just really know that everything and all the hard work you did is paying off. And that's all that the reward. The reward is that when you see kids playing and smiling and And learning lifelong skills through sports. That's where the reward comes in. How are you financially as the N m a financially how much money did you lose this here? Well, you know 50% of our budget and that a lot of people don't aren't aware that we do not get any money from the state. Uh, 50% of our budget is states, um, Tournament tournament tickets. Cells and and of course, as you know, in the fall, we didn't have any. We were able to get a little bit of ticket sales. When it came to basketball. We were at 25% capacity. But it was a big chunk. We knew that this going in when we budgeted, we budgeted no fans in the fall and winter sports. And we budgeted basically, that we would have at $1.57 million deficit. Is what our budget was, Um with this. We're probably going to end the year with about $1.2 million deficit. However, back when Katrina happened. I was able to, You know, I saw the four side of you know there could be a There could be an emergency sometime down the road like that. And so I was putting money back into an emergency fund, so we are able to stay afloat. With the emergency fund that we had put back years ago. It's all been in her mattress. Who knew? Yeah, Yeah. Alright, Sally. So by the end of June, every high school sport will be played. You said music couldn't happen this year. Uh, so every sport was played in that includes cheer. That includes cheer, bowling Junior ROTC. I didn't know that everything that you can. Yeah, everything that you can imagine speech and debate English export everything chest. Everything was played this year. Unfortunately, it's the singing and the band concert band inquire. We were not able to pull off to the covid. But every others 25 activities and 13 sports were played this year in a short amount of time. All right, um so kick back. Rest for a few weeks. And then, uh, get ready for football two days to start in August. That's exactly finish in June, rest a couple weeks and we get started back in the fall. Thank you, Sally. Great job job. Well done. You got it done. Kind of amazing kind of a miracle. Thank you. Thank you. Bye bye. All right. There you go. All you complainers out there, and it is every day every day social media every day in the paper. Every day she gets picked on.

"He's look decent the problem with him he just makes too many mistakes For man you can't imagine going in and sit behind. Josh allen is very good career choice you know so you know. He's gonna learn how to throw like josh allen. That'll think so you you learn how to know. Do some of this stuff josh. I don't think so but he is probably a good backup. Have her josh allen. Because he's kind of like a poor man's josh allen you know So and they did kind kinda fix josh allen. Go into last year. You know the the bills i. I was not that super high on a josh allen. Let go into last year as high as worries price wasn't fantasy a. I did like him. He was actually prospects in that class. I thought he had the highest upside. I thought he was really raw prospect. And i thought he had he could be the number out of that class in a few years. And of course like every other Stupid fancy person. I kind of gave up on him. After two years and watch it is you know. Completion percentage. I like comparing him to You know like liquor cam. Newton cam yet mazing earth year and then he basically at one other years tired career but he always put a fancy numbers kind of who i thought john was the guy that everybody white the fancy but it wasn't very good football. So terrific is kinda guy. It'd be eighty five percent of josh allen. If josh allen were to get hurt and maybe he can learn some things that for coaching staff. Because they obviously know what they're doing over there. That is the one upside to gong to team like the bills. You've seen them develop josh allen and that's very impressive for a team like the bills to do because coming into draft teams were all. Everyone was saying. The josh allens a really great paths really strong arm. But he's gonna need to go to the right place in their of need them to develop them correctly so may be trubisky. Likes that but my personal emoji for trubisky. Just one of those crying laughing emojis. Because it's it's almost amusing. The guy like bisky. Who started a good bit for one game was he wasn't terrible. He he won games. He went three. You know as as a starter they put in. Nick foles to act lost more games than they won i think and then they put trubisky back in and he got him in the playoffs and now he's getting paid two point five million dollars tobacco josh. You're telling you couldn't get a better contract than two point. Five million or better situation than josh allen. That's the so comical in my eyes. That i would have to choose that emoji just because you can't make this stuff up. It's one of the very costly today. Dolphin they're like we're so complicated what you're even as a backup.

"But the other thing just one more thing underlying spring training or the cba tensions because the this season as a prelude to labor war because that cpa is going to run out and I and mlb has had really unprecedented run of labor peace. Even though it's been uneasy but owners in the next round will no doubt will wanna come away with that expanded post-season and what will they give up. Don't give up nothing. That's their plan that that literally as their pan will. What do we get nothing. Well play cash. If you make the playoffs the players will want to address their declining share of revenue. Remember the last. Cba it was mostly done by veterans. And they didn't care about service time they didn't care about young players could be some wiggle room there as well. Maybe let guys how they're our viewers start after two years. That would be huge which they wouldn't want to do then. You really seem some manipulation on playing time. But it's just. I mean you could say there's been a lot of bad faith posturing these last two years.

"They play a smart. They play hard They it's it's there's you can tell that there's purpose and everybody's on the same page so not only. Are they talented. You can just tell. They're just very very well. Coached so I know that they've done a good job of marrying those two things at kinston as good as anybody's domina longtime i. Well you know once obviously quarterbacks always the out liar in this game at It can you. Can you hear me because of my connection unstable. I had this gotcha find on. Obviously miss sport that the quarterbacks fieldsman outlier but if you have the jabs scouting Handbook right the one on one for scouting you know build through the offense and defense lines so you look at tampa. I mean they got a great offensive line and they got a defensive line that gave us problems. The first game soak You know that's really the foundation you start for any building. Roster building concept is is. You gotta win. Get the quarterback. Once i take care of you got to build yet good fronts and they have jason's on an outstanding job of putting together oftens line in a defensive line and and that's going to be you know a a a big task for us but You know and you know what they've done again. I i said this before. Kind of their drafts. And you know You know the minnesota safety and the central michigan one of those guys that i thought we were gonna have drafted i. I told the guys when we were getting Couple years ago as like you know mostly has kind of third round bunting he'll be there and tablets them so that's why i was joking earlier. I was like these guys have like the same board that so i felt like jason was swiping from you. Then i know that he's i appreciate what he's saying but we the the respect is mutual. Trust me i could. But was there someone jason that he still from you. I'm sure. I know over the years several times after kansas city's pig i've said shit i you know it's funny also draft a lot of times the player. You have a player that you're focused on and he gets taken right before you pick and then you settle on another guy and that guy becomes a really good player and you don't wanna you don't wanna talk about and the other guy gets cut after two years but you were. Yeah that's probably a. It's probably not a mistake that you guys are looking for some of the same things. Though right like i would think it's probably like the murphy bunning and the the the winfield example. It's probably not completely by. Accident is probably are looking for some of the same things. Andy my first first time. I really sat down and talked to him. What his you know what he looked for. You gotta obviously the quarterback but you know you need to build up your lines and you gotta have good corners so I we do kind of think alike. And i know bruce's of say mindset so we are looking for the same things absolutely all right. Well i'm not gonna ask you as a. I'm not gonna ask you guys for game picks because i think i know how that would go. So he's brett veto. The general manager of the kansas city chiefs jason light the general manager of the tampa bay buccaneers and former former philadelphia eagle scouts. Under andy. reid pre really appreciate you guys doing this. Thanks l. i. thanks to brett. Thanks to jason..
