'Guardians Vol. 3' and 'Super Mario Bros.' top box office again
"Guardians of the Galaxy volume three continues its reign at the box office. Incinerator. Some insiders had questioned if there would be superhero fatigue. But Guardians of the Galaxy volume three brought in another 60 and a half $1 million at North American theaters. In its second weekend, it's a drop from last week, but less than 50%, and overall global ticket sales are nearly $530 million. The Super Mario Brothers movie was in second place with 13 million. The female star studded film book club the next chapter. I think we should all go to Italy like brought in 6 and a half $1 million in a limited release, while hypnotic starring Ben Affleck is being described as a dud, earning just over $2 million in its limited opening. ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ is a box office smash
"The Super Mario Brothers movie was a big winner with movie audiences in its opening weekend. I'm Archie's are a letter with the latest. All right. That's a car. The Super Mario Brothers movie earned $146.4 million over the weekend, and $204.6 million in its first 5 days of release, according to studio estimates, that's just domestically. Worldwide it's made $377 million beating out frozen two as the top opening for an animated film globally, John Wick chapter four is the number two movie this week in North America, followed by Dungeons and Dragons honor among thieves. The Matt Damon Ben Affleck film air debuts in fourth scream 6 is number 5.

"Jennifer's big day. How you feeling? You look gorgeous. Somebody's getting married. It's just saving the thinking baby. And now I'm wearing it. And this was my wedding changing area. They are so cute. They're so cute and that little bathroom in her little video in her bathroom. So adorable. I think it's so adorable. Her dress is so cute. It's so cute. Now she wore two dresses and a source tells us Jen and Ben each brought along one of their kids. Do you love the way they did this? Look, you got a Vegas. You go to Vegas to get married for a reason. Okay? One, either you're pregnant, you're one financially. We know that that's not the case. I don't believe that there's a pregnancy or two you just want to do it. You are just tired. You know, you don't want to go through a bridezilla moment. There may be situations where you're dealing with family members, you're dealing with how many people to invite everybody because this would have been the wedding of the year. Not to say that they can't have a reception or something. But there was a reason why they did this so soon off the cuff and in Vegas. I got married in Vegas. When? My parents got married in the little chapter. 42 years ago. In the little white chapel. Yes. Yes, it's a great place to get married. And your parents are still together. It is. It's so it's so sweet to get married there. If you just feel good. My class is 6 months, but the point is. The point is, there was a reason why this happened. I am very happy for them. They look, you know, I just, if I'm honest, though, Justin. Say it. I don't think that she wanted to do it this way. Okay, I disagree. Okay, I completely disagree. I think for her the first time they were together, remember there was all the pop and circumstance. And it didn't work out. Right. So for her to get a second chance at love with the man of her dreams, she is going to do it differently. Instead of the official photo shoot, the People magazine and all these things, they posted the photos themselves. Instead of doing the big old wedding, they went to Las Vegas. Instead of the big old announcement in Vanity Fair, they went ahead and did it on her blog. I think that she is doing everything exactly, just different than she did it the first time. And it's special to her first. It feels like it's what she really wants. She is really those dresses. Really? Yes. She changed twice. That lets you know she would have done that no matter what. She would have done it because she would have changed like 5 times. I just don't believe this is the actual I am happy for them. Let me make that perfectly clear. I'm happy that they did it, but I don't believe in my heart of hearts. This is the way that she really wanted it. And we will see later on if they have a bigger ceremony or if they have a big reception. That's okay. "Top three Ben Affleck movies. So I'll set it up again. Ben Affleck's top three favorite Ben Affleck movies. What are they right now in 2021? So I started a drug, doesn't matter? Are we connected? That's the three. I think the town has had an unbelievable kind of kind of run since it came out because the cable and streaming. And you know how you know it's true because it's always on. It'll pop on Netflix, all of a sudden it's there new on Netflix. It'll be on HBO. It just keeps going. It's not going to stop. I remember when I came out of the director said about that movie like no one's going to talk about this movie ten years. I felt hurt by that because I thought, hey, that's most like with each other down at some level. And then he was like, I mean, it's got me ten years later. Here we are talking about it. I mean, granted it's beat up, but it's the experience I had making them the most rewarding. What was the gone girl experience? I don't know that story. So it's glad to be gone. I have gone girls by three. I screwed that up. Combat began. Well, that was the one where you realized if I'm making a Boston movie I got to use the locals. Yeah. And more real than good wanted, which did elide certain elements of Boston, which we thought we had to in order to make it. And I felt like the gum may be done was more, maybe not better, but was more honest. I think that's fit for me. I'm on your list. Gone girl three. I think they'll way back is four for me. Way back up there for me for sure. You know, I love the last stool. I really love blessed. Yeah, that's enough times yet. I need like three four more views. We got under just a little bit. I think if we had gotten all of it, we could have driven the ball for 50 feet. I feel like we got to the track. You know what I mean? In some ways. Maybe it depends on yes. In some parts, it's out. The last bat about sports is actually the most relevant to the PED issue because if you're going to get a ten or 15% boost, that's going to make the difference in those moments. Which is quite significant. Every time we hit the ball, there's a lot of fly balls that come ten feet short of the orange or hit on the right track. And if you got a 10% bump, it's gone. Now, think of the difference between that. So does this mean you and Damon are going to do more stuff before we go? You wrote last though and you got it going and why would we not be doing this the whole time? We had the wrong idea. This is so stupid. We were out there chasing this thing that gets successful do our thing, whatever, and there's nothing there. The Miami movie shoot, then the gap doesn't matter what people say about it or if you get trophies or tone or the box of none of that shit makes you happy. The only thing that makes you happy is spending time people love, principally your kids, loving them, loving your family, being a good person. And when you go to work, if you work with people you like, it makes such a bigger difference in your life than whether or not you go around with your crew jacket on and press people because like, hey, I did this movie. I felt that. You know what I mean? It doesn't do anything for you. Except to the ugly narcissist part of people that wants everyone to love and admire them, which is just a miserable shitty character attribute that makes sure it happens. You should write a 30 year college reunion movie with bat. Just hole up, just write it out 8 9 characters. You can film it in 5 weeks, cheap costs. Everybody takes everybody takes smaller salaries because they just want to be a part of it. Bang it out. I'm gonna say right now you're getting nothing. You want story by credit? "I picked this movie that was way outside anything else that I had. People have seen me do even though secretly it was actually between Hollywood and the Middle East who were sort of the two things I knew really well and was well suited and had to support from grant George or at least smart guys and Chris Heria brilliant and Billy goldenberg concept was a genius. And that was not me. It was a very and a brilliant test, and then when that would be worked, I didn't even really expect that or have anything to prove. So at that point, I felt like and I felt a little bit like, okay, I don't need to. This is the unhealthy perspective. This idea that I have to be making all these decisions about my life. Predicated on what somebody else says on Twitter or on the comments section. That's not going to make me happy. I mean, they don't know me on anything to do with what I want to do. And by the way, if you give people the power to sort of make you feel satisfied and are happy, according to the degree to which they tell you you're okay or good enough or a good person, then like situations that happen where somebody completely mischaracterizes what you say and decide to say, you know, you're terrible ex-husband and it says that that if you don't really understand that that's entirely false. And you know, you know, and that you don't really that these opinions are often come from people who haven't even, you know, who have just skimmed the last article and have no idea they don't know me not only that but they don't even know what the source material is that they're referring to because we just don't take the time to do that anymore. You know, it's just what's on my news feed. What do I think? I'm at a rare response. Then I'd really be hostage to that. And I have to worry about every second. Does everybody like me? And so I just thought like, you know what, these last three movies, kids didn't see my son's getting older. He likes superheroes, you know, my middle child. Might be into it. I knew my daughter wouldn't be interested in Batman, my oldest daughter, but I was like, I want to do my Friends. And yeah, I wanted to work, you know? And I want to try this. And I also want to sort of like, daredevil always bothered me because it was a movie I so didn't like. You know, and I had loved that hero as a kid. And so it ate at because I thought, God, we had the best character. And really fucked it up. And it was right before they really understood how to do those movies. And the terrible fucking irony to me, as that Kevin feige was on that movie. But he just was like a subordinate like third guy. Oh, he could have saved it. I keep on thinking I should have just turned to him. And then like, fuck all these people. What do we do? If there's anybody that I've never thought this is true about anybody and so I looked at his career. If there's any one person who I would actually believe when they told me, look, this is what the audience wants. It would be him. Because he seemed to have an unerring instinct for two set pieces to jokes, pulling our strings, make fun of the suits, you know, two set pieces. You know what I mean? Yeah. And then right in the villain like for what he does, that genre, those movies, and by the way, there's never been a more successful producer in the history of ever by far. Going back to where Daryl's anak and anybody else, you know? Seems to be the middle. Anyway, so it's like you find out you were working with sea so it would be the mail and he was somebody's DP and they made him be quiet. It's like the answer was right there. Going back to that stretch because the first time damning came on this pod, and we had like we talked about everything, but one of the things we were talking about was when people, when you started to have a little bit of, you know, you had a couple misses and people started comparing the two you against each other. And he was the most upset about that than anything. 'cause he was like, it wasn't like I was making every artistic choice either. The narrative became Affleck's grabbing paychecks and Damon's the one who wants to do good work. And he was like, fuck that, that was. But he was really hurt by that, 'cause you guys were so close and, you know, and then he's protective of you, obviously, but I think he did feel bad and he felt uncomfortable. Anytime you see something that's like, first of all, you know, best friends and love each other and we do really root for each other and I think he was I imagine kind of going like, hey, I feel bad for my friend, because this isn't really fair. And B don't attribute to me like some great wisdom that I'm the genius, because we have very similar taste in movies. And it wasn't like I was out there going like Scorsese, not fast on that. I'm going to do surviving Christmas. You know what I mean? Part of what you're as an actor. And I know this is a difficult thing to see because you don't know what the range of things you're choosing from and what your opportunities are. But because it's collaborative, you're a hostage to a number of other things. You're never going to be better than the material. You're never going to be better than director. You're never going to. Your bound it by what's available to you. So really if you.

Calmness, competitiveness. That's the other thing with him. And it's funny, 'cause with you, I remember writing this and then I sent it to you and you were like, yeah, you hit it. But when you had your big comeback. The big rise. The fall. Everyone kickstart on you. Come back. Oh, aflex back. And then you put together a few good things. It's like Affleck's fucking back. And then you decided to do Batman and people are like, that's weird. Why is he doing Batman? He's putting together this career as a director. You know, he's really, really won the respect of Hollywood and why is he doing a superhero movie? And I was like, 'cause he's fucking competitive. He's going to have to come back. He wants the actual comeback with capital C he wants all of it. Now he's going to be Batman because fuck everybody. And that was kind of your mentality, right? Yeah, I mean, really my mentality was like, I thought it matters so much. Because people had been so had denigrated me like, despite the fact that I think, well, wait, wait a minute. I thought the whole reason I became successful was that you thought I was able to do this. And I had internalized that sense. And it was meaningful to me. And then people are going, you can't do it. You don't belong. You don't deserve this. It becomes this intense taking away thing. Never mind this person. They shouldn't have what they have, which is a total like delegitimization. So from three to 6, 7, 8, 9, ten. And it's kind of a younger person's. Drive in some ways. But there's something proof. You know, I can do this. I belong here. Get rid of me. I'm not. I know I have something to offer. I know I mean something in effect. I can do it. Even though you're telling me, I and that's the only motivation at that point that really works. Is that people are telling and I'm sure probably fuel time in his draft pick and so on so forth. It's very common. You go like really, you don't respect me. Well, let's see. I'm going to do it. I'm going to lay it out to my own terms, and if you if you want to tell me, I'm no good at that point fine. I'll have failed on my own merits, but I'm going to take a crack at it, which is why when I made them, it was so incredibly stressful because I knew if this doesn't work on that workout. And when I made the town, this is I'll never be able to act. They're act in movies again, because they'll write me off for those that he can just direct. And so having done those things, I sort of relaxed. I felt as though not that I proved everything, but I didn't want to be told I was the greatest who ever. I didn't want to be praised and I don't need that. I just don't want to be like anybody. Treat you unfairly or told them no good. That sucks. You know? And it feels bad. And I want it at the time. Kids, I want my kids to be proud. I want to do something that was important to my kids. I want my wife to respect me. You know, all these things I go into this stuff, like how you and unfortunately, like as people, I think it's an evolutionary thing. If you're not brought along on the hunting party, you know, in the primordial days, you know, by the other, the rest of the village, you'll starve. So being included in being accepted, even though it doesn't literally mean that no, but I think to the brain on some level means can I survive? Which is why ostracization and exile is one of the cruelest and most painful things you can do is why teenagers to suffer from that tendency to exclude certain members of the widely recognized that is so cruel and excruciating. "I give Ben ask like a lot of credit. He came out and said flat out, he felt trapped in his marriage to Jennifer Garner. It's tough to say these things when you've got kids involved and you're still talking to each other because your co parenting. He said, we probably would have ended at each other's throats. I probably would have still been drinking had he stayed with gen Garner. Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped. Can't leave because of the kids. I'm not happy. What do I do? And when I did was, I drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution. I give the guy a lot of credit. I really do, because that's not an easy thing to say. First of all, it's not an easy thing to come to grips with. Anybody who's been in a situation like that with a marriage is going south and you're coping, you're coping in some way that's not healthy. I know a lot about that because I was down that road as well. It's tough to say that flat out when you know you're going to be affecting your ex-wife, your kids read the news. So what I'm saying is he says to how it's done he hasn't done his drinks since he's been clean for a while. He'll never go back to it. I don't see color 'cause the world sees color. The world sees race and you need to make sure you explain that to your children. So I appreciate Sandra and what she's doing. It's not easy. It's not. For you to realize it. And being open, being open to receiving that, and being able to say, okay, I hear you, not getting defensive about it, right? I mean, those real conversations. Good for you, Jess. Right? It's so interesting because Sandra Bullock has been so private. Especially about her kids for so many years. Why do you think she's ready to open up now? Well, I mean aside from having the movie coming out, you know what I mean? But I think it's a great platform and then coming out of quarantine, you know what I mean? Probably having to have nest and, you know, been with the children and all of that. I just think it's time. I mean, she's 57. Yeah. She gets it. She knows who she is. And I also think after what this country went through over the last year and a half and all the things that were happening with race relations and things like that, maybe it was eye opening, even more so.
