"Lanta six consecutive wins there moved into first place, the nationally east with a thirty nine twenty nine record twice Farkas. It's been established here in the podcast that you're a big fan of the Texas Rangers and the best teammates show in the last decade. No question about it. Adrian bell trae Elvis Andrus with the way that they would go back and forth and give each other hard time. Well, he saw again last night. Why is he Albee's Ronald Kuni junior? I think they are worthy successors to the great show. He saw put on by beltway in Andrews, given how they go back and forth in the post game celebration Ozzy Albee's getting ready for the interview is just waiting for Kuni to come at them which he did with the Gatorade. And then the ice water those two guys have so much fun together. But was there any touching of the others head like Elvis? No, they don't do that. But they seem to whip each other was would tells a lot, okay? That seems to be what happens Austin Riley, also spoke with Fox Sports south about his big day. Good shot. I news in the gap, so I was run as hard as I can stop me. Stop may have not, you know, and, you know he didn't stop me and I was good good hit Bozzi and you know, get team team win. You want to be up in that spot. Yeah. For sure. Like I said this team thrives off of it, and then you know, kind of gives me that confidence that, you know, get out there and do the same so love being in the situations. And he talked about that series in Miami. How nice is it kind of have just bounce back? He's even you know, even last night, it's still showing some slaughters, you know, out of his own low and away. And you know, signed me inside said, you know, if I can just lay off those and you know, my, my better chance as success. And I think the second bad I had three the slaughters away, and then, and then got to three oh and then got a pitch..

Weird KFC softcore that just turned into military boots. Guess I just wanted to throw this out there. Real quick is major league baseball an idiot. First of all, did you know that there's a platinum glove? Yeah. I guess I didn't know that. No. So people have won the platinum. Okay. So actually every year they give out the platinum glove for the best defensive player in the league. All right. So they just started doing this. I don't know how long, but no one air Nado has won the platinum glove the last two years, and he just won his six gold glove started in two thousand eleven okay. So not too long. So he wanted gold glove. Andy won a platinum glove. Both of them say the exact same thing. Even though one on the bottom says you're the best in the entire league as opposed to just sit your position they both say that their gold glove awards. So there's a picture on social media of him and teammate holding both of the awards and people were like old on why did both of the award say Gold Gloves. So Asia league baseball kinda. You know, who has two of these. Two thousand eleven Kevin always fudge, right? No, air Nado. I just told you got to know Lynn aeronautic, Adrian bell trade. Okay. Rob Pelinka. Currently the GM of the Lakers wasn't agent, and that seems to be working really well. Should teams be more willing to go outside the box for hires like this and the Mets take on Brodie van wagon as their new GM. Sure. Why not? I mean, what I think happens is the number one. Characteristic of professional sports GM is they're risk averse. They don't want to get fired, so they hardly ever do anything that could potentially get fired if you bring in some from the outside, always thinking about Daryl, Maury, Daryl, never worries about whether or not he's going to be fired. He just does it. He does some crazy. Sometimes it works like it did with James harden. Sometimes it doesn't work like you did, what do I Howard? But he doesn't carry just moves onto the next one..

"The Rangers player of the month. Not just because. Broadcasters and beat writers wanted to give him that honor. Because he's Adrian Belcher because he's been one of the best players in the American League this month. And he might win American League player of the month will end the season with the most extra base hits in the month of September. Among American League players what a really special way the off last week at home at globe life park. And then again today really need the Rangers in Mariners closed out the season team which Adrian spent five years playing four which Adrian spent five years playing. So those fans, obviously, maybe with a little more juice in willingness to show Adrian some extra love, and you know, hats off to the Mariners staff for allowing Adrian to have some of that spotlight today in a visiting uniform. I want to share a few things about Adrian bell. Trae. Know, there's so many stats out there, and I'm not going to recite all the stats there. You know, there are a ton that we have talked about whether it sits or are be is your games play. Whatever it might be. Now's not necessarily the time to do that. I think everyone's going to have memories of Adrian Beltre. Everyone is going to have moments that stand out to them. And I've certainly got plenty. There are few things I want to touch on with Adrian bell. Trae first of all. Even though Adrian, maybe it wasn't always the most outgoing guy. You know, he did it like the spotlight. He was always incredibly fun to deal with and to be around treated people, right and not every professional athlete treats people. Right. Not every professional athlete. Looks it. Broadcasters are writers or whomever in considers them in equal human being because the reality is we are humans just like they are. The Adrian always did. And I think you ask anyone who's covered. The Rangers of the dodgers. The Mariners the Red Sox are major league baseball who's dealt with Adrian. They will tell you that they would offer that that note of appreciation on Adrian beltway. I think what are the elements of Adrian bell trays game in his career that will stand out and be talked about for a long time his toughness. Everyone's got a story of Adrian bell trae playing through something for me, the first kind of wakeup call to how tough this son of a gun was an is came a few years ago when he dealt with a torn ligament in his thumb he was supposed to miss six weeks three weeks into that injury. We hadn't gotten the lineup by three o'clock or four o'clock or five o'clock, and they were whispers that maybe Adrian bell. Trae had talked his way off the DL and was gonna play three months or three weeks premature no way could that be possible? No rehab. Simon. I don't know that anyone had seen him take any swings. But sure enough at about five thirty the lineup came out to Adrian bell. Trae was in it, and he ripped a double in his very first at bat. It seemed like Adrian always played better when he was playing through some sort of significant injury that most players wouldn't even dare try playing through then again in two thousand fifteen in the playoffs. He has the back injury in Toronto. E could barely walk. It brought him to tears with the pain. He ends up coming back in continuing to play in one of the games gets a crucial hit, and basically he had one swing. It was early in the game. He had one swing and he either was going to put the ball in play swing and miss whatever. But the thought was that one swing was going to be to NAFTA that swing? He was gonna come out of the game came with runners on base. He got a single up the middle scored around help the Rangers win one of those early games in Toronto obviously series did not go the Rangers favor but Adrian bell trays heroics if you will help give the Rangers a to nothing series lead. And then the other thing for me. The longevity. So. It really bugs me that people. Try to downgrade Adrian bell trays accomplishments by calling him a stat compiler, you'll most athletes limp towards the finish line at the end of what is a storied career, especially when that career is two decades give or take especially when that career ends in their late thirties even early forties. And so this is it if this is in fact, the end for Adrian bell trae, I hope that people remember that he didn't limp towards the finish line. He sprinted through the finish line. Again. It bugs me when people talk about Adrian bell trains, say he's just a stat compiler, you know, if he were hanging on because of reputation if he was hitting two twenty and clearly struggling clearly not a guy who deserves to be in the lineup every day. I get it. That's fine. And there are guys like that. And that's that's okay. But Adrian bell trays remained a critical player in a middle of the order bat, and I think athletes deserve credit for earned longevity. Because we always talk about how science catches up to you. How it's tough to sustain success when you get to your thirties or your late thirties or whatever but Adrian bell trae has been able to do that. And it reminds me of a conversation. Someone shared with Joey Votto earlier this year and a podcast now, Joey Votto, the first base onto the reds is a huge analytics guy. And he was asked what his favorite stat was. And you'd think it's one of these weird acronyms that no one quite knows what it actually means. Or how to compute that stat and Joey Votto said games played. And his reasoning was the said if you look at the guys atop the all time games. Played almost all of them are all time greats because the ability to earn your spot on a major league lineup card at nineteen twenty twenty one years old and the ability to continue to earn that spot on a major league lineup card over and over and over and over for as many years as it takes to put you near the top on the all time games. Played list is an incredibly impressive accomplishment. And that to me is what stands out about Adrian Beltre. A he broke in nineteen. It's not easy to break into the majors at nineteen and he stayed for twenty one seasons twenty full seasons and that partial year back when he was nineteen and in his final three seasons. Adrian beltway is put together a batting average of nearly three hundred and opiates of eight fifty one or right around there. This year another stellar year. Was it Adrian at his best. No, it wasn't was Adrian beltway still a good player who if you took away the name and said Joe Smith and looked at his numbers and ask yourself is this an everyday player. You would absolutely say, yes. And that's a credit to Adrian bell trade. The Rangers lose three to one. And this is the final broadcast of the season one to quickly. Thank all of you for another really fun year. It's so much fun to chat with you to engage with you. And we appreciate all of you who listen, this is a an incredibly fun job, and it has made so much more fun because of our engagement our interaction with you. And this is all possible because if you want to thank all my teammates of the fan, I'm privileged to share the airwaves with all those folks as well. As our leader Gavin spittle. It's an honor to be in the booth with Eric and Matt. Those two are incredibly special both broadcasters and people want to shout out all our engineers. Our producers are board ops. Their work goes unrecognized on a daily basis, but the season is just as much of a grind for them as it is for players and broadcasters, dealing with the schedule what we do is not possible without all of them. I want to thank our engineer, Matthew. But today in Seattle are board op Reggiana Tula and one of our producers today air chief follow obviously got to thank the Rangers players and staff the front office, the media relations and communications department. All they do that make all this possible. They help allow us to bring these stories to live to connect you to the Rangers. And I wanna thank Jeff Bannister. He helped lead the Rangers to two division titles in four years. Remember, there are only three managers in Rangers. History who've helped lead them to a division title and beyond that, it was a really good person. Jeff banisters, a very good person with very big hearts and wish him. Well, wanna thank him for the four years. He gave the Texas Rangers organization. And finally once again, wanna thank you one more time being a Rangers fan is something that I've been for my whole life, and it's awesome. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. In our day will come and it will be really sweet one it does. Better days are ahead and want to thank you again for your interest, your phantom of Texas Rangers baseball, especially our broadcast. It is an honor. And a pleasure to be able to talk to you through this microphone and help connect you Rangers baseball. So that's sad. That's going to do it until next year. Take care, and we'll talk to you in.

"The final game of the two thousand eighteen season on the mound for the Rangers. Giovanni gerardo. Elliot's on the mound for the Mariners. And the game really wasn't about the result as much as it was about Adrian bell trae possibly playing the final game of his career. And right now we chat with Eric. And Matt about that. You guys are a part of this last Sunday at home when Adrian gotta salute from the globe life park crowd. And again, a part of it here today in and kind of fitting that it was against the team that Adrian played for in the Seattle Mariners. And it seemed like the crowd was certainly aware of of what was at stake for Adrian bell trade today from your perspectives. What was it like to be a part of all this? I think I teared up a little bit there in the fifth inning. No question about it. Because you think about the twenty one years in major league baseball his time in the game. What he is meant to so many people what he's meant to the Rangers. I I definitely welled up a little bit. There's no question about it. And you know, being able to see his family was sitting in the first row of seats as close as they could to the Rangers dugout before he came to bat air for one final time in the top of the fifth year essentially in standing near the index. Oracle was standing right in front of his family show. We've experienced some poignant moments here in the last week with Adrian and. You know, when you consider the way that everything's gone you. I think everybody that's around the team just kind of has a feeling that. While he still has a decision to make the perhaps he's made it and that he will be retiring. But you never know. And he even said to the media today that he wasn't really sure still then he's gonna take some time to consider it because he loved this game so much. It's it's really nice Adrian has to families the baseball family and his own family, and he may be a a little bit torn. But I think with whatever he decides, especially if he decides it today was his last day. I think he's very content with that. And at least. Yeah, he got a ground ball at third. In fact, the the final ground ball of the fourth inning the last inning. He played was ground ball hit to him. And we had a base hit in the first in a little bit of help from Nelson Cruz in that aggressively pursuing a fly ball. But at least he went out with a defensive play and a hit and he went out in a ballpark in which he played for five years to a very appreciative crowded. I thought it was all handled extremely well. Just as it was last Sunday by the Rangers guys, one of the things that I don't think it's talked about enough when it comes Sadri. Rian belcher. We talk about you know, how long he's played and whatnot. I don't think people really appreciate how. Well. He's played deep. News career. A lot of guys you're in their twentieth. Year around thirty eight thirty nine years old they limped through the finish line. And if this in fact is the finish line Adrian bell. Trae maybe isn't sprinting so to speak as fast as he was ten years ago, but it's still a sprint say possibly AL player of the month here in September. Still a good player. And I just think that's incredibly impressive to have longevity. And to be successful. I I'm curious to you guys. Final thoughts something that maybe people don't talk about enough for just something that stands out to you about Adrian Belcher. Yeah. You know? And and and we mentioned this because it came out. I think around the sixth of the seventh inning of the broadcast. He's the Rangers player of the month for the month of September. Be this is it what a way to go out. I just I think when I think about Adrian he puts team oversell. And so he is the consummate team mate. And a man who lead, by example. But that's what I think about most. When I think about Adrian, a guy who you know, sort of an old school sort of approach to the game. But a guy who always put the team ahead of himself. Now, I think he always finished strong some incredible final months last year the final month for Adrian was actually August because he was hurt so much in September. He at thirty three runs batted in last year in August. A he had twenty nine Rb is in September in two thousand fifteen when the Rangers were trying to win a playoff spot. Not at all surprising for Adrian to finish strong even in this possibly his last season. That's pretty much what he's done is whole time with Texas. Final thoughts on this year as we head into the off season. What clearly a disappointing season for the club to finish at sixty seven and ninety five. But as is always the case, you learn something about your team and about your organization think the Rangers have done that. I think going into this off season they know that they're pretty set is far as a position players are concerned. We also I think learned this year that Jose Leclerc is a start at the back end of the bullpen. And we've got some another exciting players like Connor Saddik Jeffrey springs, Chris Martin coming back. So that the the back into the bullpen looks like at least going into the off season. It's in shape clearly the team needs to figure some things out as far as the rotation is concerned. But again in two thousand eighteen. We had guys like Ronald Guzman. Isaiah kinder.

"Get your tickets at stub up there, an official partner of the Texas Rangers and we've been treated to some really good hitting this month by Adrian bell tree including two home runs. Yesterday is first multi home run game of the season. And with every Adrian bell trae step. It seems like he's passing this great or that great on the all time charts, but what jumps out to you about what AP's been doing a plate. Well, let's try to put this in a little bit of context, and it might take up the rest of the pre-game show because he keeps sending these different ladders knocked in three runs yesterday with his two home runs. He now has sixteen hundred ninety six career RBI's yesterday. He passed Cal Ripken junior moving into twenty th place on baseball's all-time RBI list. He's hit five home runs already this month. That ties him with the likes of Alex bregman of the Astros Marcello soon of the cardinals and Trevor story. Of the Rockies for the most home runs hit here this month. But he's also moved up on the all time hits list. He's moved up on the all time home run list with these two homers yesterday. He sits at four hundred and seventy four thirty second on the home run list. He's now just one behind the great, STAN Musial and Willie Stargell so two more home runs. He'll be passed them. And then as far as hits are concerned with his to homelands yesterday. He has thirty one hundred fifty two hits tied with Paul waner for sixteen th on the all-time list. Just two hits now behind the man who sits in fifteenth place George Brett so for Adrian bell. Trae just a few more hits a few more home runs, and I think for many people he's basically at some totals that would make it and make him an automatic for the hall of fame. I think he already is an automated for the hall of fame. So to. All right Hicks. The rangers. And the as face off today in its Trevor K hill, we are in two thousand eighteen this is not two thousand ten or anything. But Trevor K he'll one of a few guys who has surprised major league baseball by his productivity in aiding the as to where they are as a team yet. When I talk to TR Sullivan later on in the pre-game show is one of the guys that did he mentioned anybody could have had this guy at the beginning of the year. He's put together. Some great numbers today is nineteenth starters pitched to a three six ERA. He's got a great career history against the Rangers. But he is scuffled a little bit here of late in his last three starts K. He'll one in one with a six seven five ERA. And while he has done well against the Rangers in his histories eleven and four with a three O seventy era in nineteen starts the as have won both of his starts this year against the Rangers. Both in Arlington back on April, the twenty third and July the twenty six, but he didn't pitch all that. Well against the Rangers this season, what's really stood out about Trevor. Sale is his performance on this particular diamond here Ricky Henderson field. He's five and over the one oh nine ERA in a total of nine start. He's held opponents to a one sixty four banning average. So this is where he's.

But it's funny. You say that because I love Belcher, you know, he was one of the guys watching growing up. I grew up in Texas. And you know, he's a ranger, obviously. So yeah, you know, I guess cool to kinda hit on like him. The one you hit that went five five at least. That's what they say. It when I'm always curious if you guys think the the numbers are never right because I think you guys get cheated always think the is a lot lot farther than they say, do you feel like that's the farthest you've ever hit one. I don't know. I guess I would say so I guess what? I mean, if they're giving me five hundred I'll take it for sure. Yeah. That down. But yeah, it was it was one of my best boards for sure. Trevor story with three of them. Yes. The second home run would five hundred five feet just a mammoth shot as the Rockies get the victory. Cubs and brewers Tutu. He got with a slider. "The left field got a chance. It's gone. Seriously. Thatt's for Trevor story that's a line. Just offensive left. He's a lead three would strike out on his fourth that bad of a night. He had a chance for four homers KOA with the call Rockies beat the giants maintain their lead atop the division drivers story. Three homers in the win Chadha with our Scott van pelt. I'm always curious. When's the last time you had done that? Or if you've ever done it now, honestly that was the first time I've ever done that just just one of those special nights hard heart relates to put words to try to explain but. You know, something I remember for the rest of my life for sure the the first one you hit was sort of an Adrian bell. Trae you went to a knee. And I imagine you get heckled a little bit. "Certainly would have happened. This year no doubt about it he would have made the Phillies a legitimate contender for the National League. This year but it's the same, thing with the Sixers they're. Not at that point where they need to go all in. On a guy for potentially just two months Yeah Machado makes you better now and. Maybe he isn't enough to get you to. The World Series but what if you don't win the division and what if he has you? Know, not the best, experience in those two. Months and then he, leaves and you gave. Up six oh Sanchez you. Gave up some of your other prospects and then you kind of hurt yourself. In the future I just don't think, they're at that spot yet the dodgers, spot they need to. Go for right now so we need something to look forward to so who who's, out there for these teams then who who. Are we going to go after well for the Sixers not not a ton I appreciate call Chris thanks man Not a ton for the Sixers right now they're probably going to go into the season. With what you see right now the Phillies. There are guys out there there's obviously nobody anywhere close to the level of amending the Chato? But, there's Adrian bell, trae sold people talking. About scooters net, from. The reds There. Are there are a few lower level bats out there Who you can you can, potentially acquire nothing that. I think is gonna overly excite people Brad hand bullpen piece a really good reliever who I think could come in here and help. Because the Phillies they need help in a. Few different areas you get a guy like Machado He covers up some of your other your other needs you know he, changed your team so much did that might be enough but I could, see the Phillies now. Going for maybe Adrian bell trail lower level tied bat and then going out getting a reliever maybe two and maybe starting pitcher people. Talk about Cole hamels j. hat I probably think hap- would be the better option he's having, a better season the, Cole hamels the heart tells you Cole, hamels but the head would tell you call Protestant have a lot left I would expect the, Phillies, will, absolutely, do something I'd be stunned if they. Don't make at least, a. Couple moves to. Make, this. Team better down? The. Stretch eight eight? Eight? Seven. To nine nine four nine four nine.

"Guy like adrian bell trees available she go get them you know you're not gonna have to give up a lot for these kind of guys now the manny machado thing i would not do that i would not trade for two months of manny machado when you can probably just outbid everybody else inside him in the off season i would wait on ninety machado i would not give up a sixth oh sanchez in a deal for him which could be month rental i wouldn't give up kingery i wouldn't give up crawford i wouldn't give up any of those guys i would i wait on the shadow but a guy like adrian bell trae like adrian bell trae is one of the most underrated players in the league over the last fifteen years and he's hitting three fourteen this year he's he spill really productive hitter i would certainly look to bring him in add some punchline and i think the phillies he'd be aggressive and and the other name you're going to hear which would be very interesting and it would get people excited down the ballpark i'm not sure how much he would really fit right now because the starting pitching has been very good but cole hamels is on the trade bloc and if the phillies were to bring back whole handle that'd be pretty cool i'm not sure it's really necessary because the starting pitching he's been good for the most part nick pevez great lately but as a whole he's been pretty good jake arrieta struggle but you're not replacing jake arrieta in the rotation he's going to stay in there but cole hamels would be very interesting that'd be fun that'd be funded see him back at citizens bank park eight eight eight seven two nine nine four nine four eight eight eight seven to nine nine four nine four pounds four nine four.

"Guys oh man we've been really get into this reasonable and unreasonable mavericks team in just a moment but there is a report out there from john hayman that adrian bell trae is in jared kind of alluded to this a little the other night and i don't know if jared had this sentiment understood completely but adrian bell trae wants to play for the rangers in two thousand nineteen he only wants to go to a club that might have a really good shot at contending for a title you don't want to go to a place where he's going to have to go you know fit in with them and do all this stuff he wants to go as mercenary win a title description so put out the evidently come back to the rangers in two thousand nineteen adam morris at lonestar ball on twitter if you're not following you should he's fantastic he said he said would you want the rangers to bring him back next year absolutely no i don't care for me i love adrian bell trae because of the culture and leadership that he has that clubhouse and everything i also think he's he is a a very big presence in that clubhouse to wear guys can hide from their leadership responsibilities i don't think that's a good thing but i i don't see why it would be a problem for him to come back and play for the rangers other than the idea that well we got adrienne beltran third and we don't have to worry about filling that position yeah it sounds to me like you're kind of dancing around the idea that maybe that wouldn't be the best thing for the rangers well kevin says no you said and you ask you ask me the question in my bad person if i say no which people might be like yes but not because of that eight seven seven eight eight one one zero five three i look and i'm just going to throw it out there and maybe this becomes the segment sorry mavericks we'll figure you out later and so okay parker's been trying to trade adrian beltway trae for to you sure and it's nothing against melchior and i'm kind of i think i'm finally on parker's side on this it just took a while because here's here's the thing and i want to qualify this by saying adrian veltri is one of the greatest rangers of all time he will go into the hall of fame as arranger but i don't understand the logic that you trade kiani kella because you don't necessarily need a closer when your team is super awesome is not super awesome okay well then why do you need a hall of famer at third base when your team is not super awesome.

"The two one is hit on the ground the i dashboard as a team chris their eleventh in the league in runs per game that i know they haven't been healthy but you're still talking about they were third in the league in runs brigade last year i think this should be at the very least a top five national league offense they should be in the top third in runs per game in my opinion the to it foul out of play off to the left couple of he'll look at daniel murphy getting healthy matt adams who though unexpectedly was good offensive contributor to this t bryce harper's hit his home bronze but he hasn't really done much else so they got some guys that that switch gets flipped to is upstairs outside think we'll we will see it you know in this division it's at succeeding i mean for division that for the past few years it's been metzer nationals or just nationals to see the braves in the mix the phillies in the mix coming up to the all star break here's a swing at a ball popped in the year right side santana and hernandez and it'll be hernandez to make the catch carlos hernandez for cesar hernandez making the catch next to carlos santana carlos on a little elvis andrus routine i know just thinking about that gimme give it to me that enfield theater with adrian bell trae sorry i got caught up in that replay but yeah the i mean that's just that's just hilarious to see do that in texas too bad at first three to phillies bottom seven at the first one data meeting and cut on admist eaten over three with three strikeouts phillies about hit the nats eight five either side has committed an error i wonder how things go for beltran this the final year of his contract basis.
