"Run game in the the blocking scheme in protection scheme that are gone and just two guys that you have to get up to speed at the same time as opposed to one. It makes much more difficult. So yeah i think that one's no-brainer for sure evan. I haven't had a chance to talk since the quinton nelson injury. I wanna get evans. Take i on. Jonathan taylor with quinn nelson going down. Also and again five to twelve weeks. He could be back for week. One where you could miss like two months. Have you thought about jonathan taylor evan. Since the quinn nelson injury and also coupled with the carson wentz singer. I looked at moving him down the rankings. But we're already pretty low on them To to be perfectly frank because he is opening schedule is really difficult. He is a guy that's game script depending on your if they're behind in games like mckean hines is going to come into the game. And that's going to hurt jonathan taylor. I think he's right around number fourteen overall right now. I don't think i'm gonna move them any lower than that. Probably but i do think he is at grave risk of a slow start and you know speaking of clusters. This is a great little segue. Because eric fisher is not gonna be ready for week. Wine quinn nelson might not be ready for we. All of a sudden we have a cluster situation on an offensive line. That is being one of the most bankable over the last three years. So i don't know ticket away brain away. What do you think about the colts offense line right now. And and who were they. Who are they going to be plan. jake eldridge camp. I think sam. Tevi saint-ivan yeah. Yeah which you know. That's that's gonna be a huge glaring hole on especially past because one of the initial points that you made. I remember was You're like a you know they can kinda make do at least for a little while with a maybe a below average left tackle because they have Nelson right right. Yeah so my eleven ranking for them at eleventh overall is predicated on quinton nelson being there for week. One so assuming. It's you know. Four the five returning starters with the new left tackle high think they're going to be a solid unit You know well. Yes solid eleven overall. Which is you know. Kind of the top of the solid tier. I think that for the five starters returning is still gonna allow them to be a pretty high performing line. I think they can do a lot of creative things with protecting sam. Tevi pass protection Just kinda get by until fisher comes back but if nelson isn't there then than this ranking would not be what it is and it would change everything you know so Yeah i mean. I'm just assuming nelson. We'll be there but if not yeah it's it's way different but yeah well. The bad ass tied him blocker in mohali cox so they can stick in there. You'll be looks like it does right. I mean just play him at left. Tackle popping in the sm heart is is mo- alley cox Yeah we'll keep an eye on quinn nelson jury ahead of week. One question from thomas. Second last question here but i'm specifically interested. He asked about the jets. Because i have some optimism for the jets offense this year. Michael carter i've taken a ton of his. Adp started to rise a lot more. Think going to end up. Starting i like him. I think exactly wilson may not be good right of the gate but he'll be fine and so talks about the offensive line. Because i think there's some optimism for the offensive line. You have them in th oh yeah top tier for for them i think arrows pointing out for them. I mean still you know. Center in regard will start the negative. I those positions are. There's a lot of questions there I know connor mcgovern greg. Van wrote ner gonna start. But i think those guys are both below average so those are the holes or the kind of the weak links of the unit but when they sign morgan moses july that to me is. What really did this. Because you know it forced Chuma adoga and george fan to the bench to fight for the swing tackle job which is a great position to be in one of those guys is your swing and not your starter so it strengthened the whole group. And i think morgan moses just reliable guy. I mean you know to have out there who can win with the main. He hasn't missed a game in six years and mci becton at the other side. I think it'd be a superstar You know so. And then drafting lodge avera tucker to pair alongside becton into really. Let them build with each other. I think the left side. It has potential to be one of probably the five best left sides in the league. This year at those guys are able to to really play together so And then on top of all that you install a shanahan type of scheme here now With with michael floor coordinating things. John benton coming over you basically are going to do a lot of what San francisco is done. And that's just a very offensive line. Friendly environment to to develop is in. Just because of the play action zone. Run game the misdirection. And things like that so yeah. I think they're in a good environment now to develop and they have some legit talent there as well So yeah i think the arrows pointing out for them for sure our last question before we get to add here. Kyle wants to know who are brandon's favourite guys to watch on tape. Does anyone get him very very very excited. Who your favorite guys to watch on tape brands. man. I mean quinn. Nelson is obvious. Zack martin's probably my favorite player to watch period Just because he's just he's just incredibly sound never makes mistakes is crazy to watch him..

quinn nelson jonathan taylor quinton nelson Jonathan taylor carson wentz mckean hines evan eric fisher jake eldridge Tevi saint morgan moses Tevi sam nelson evans jets connor mcgovern greg colts frank mohali

"To be an excellent defensive coach to spend his mo throughout his time as an assistant coach being a sharp defensive. Mind if i have any questions. It's what kind of offensive play caller is. What kind of system does he put into. Place got some firepower there specifically with tatum and to a lesser degree jalen brown. He is going to have some weapons to work with. And i thought one of the strengths of brad. Stevens was that his offensive philosophy was really good. He was able to maximize the talents of tatum and brown and out of time. I'll play calling. That is oftentimes where coaches separate themselves. I've thought brad. Stevens is one of the best during his time with the celtics. I don't know what he may. Adoga is going to look like but of all the available coaches that route howard. You don't go would have been my first choice. I think these assistant coaches. They deserve opportunities if they have paid their dues. Worked for good teams. Get highly high recommendations from these coaches. Why not like is only so many times. You wanna go to the well and recycle former head coach. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Like mike d'antoni certainly deserves another job at some point but i love it that he may. Yoga gets his first job with boston. In a in a position to win like the celtics should be a top five team in the eastern conference next year. They make the right moves on the fringes with this roster. So you don't get a chance not to head coach but to be head coach on a winning team. Yeah which is also like a rare thing right like you know guys who are getting their first chance to be a head coach. It's so often is the case where you're going to a losing situation. It's like well. It's one of thirty thirty these jobs. You take the job you can get and you end up with a bad orlando team or times. Wind up at stephen silas bent up basically. Yeah yeah or you know. Bj bickerstaff you know. I i think isn't that situation. I mean a lot of guys have had to start with you know i. I don't wanna say unwinnable but you're fighting an uphill battle and then that that becomes your record and then it's well okay now. We're not sure there's reasons. Taken awhile for jacques. Von to get a chance because orlando didn't go so well. I mean hic that that was the reason that freak vogel for awhile didn't get another shot after he looked great in indiana. Maybe he's not so great he looked terrible in orlando well roster a lot to do with both things and finally get another shot and now. He's a championship winning coach. And no one will ever doubt frank vogel again presumably. So you know. It's all contextual. I'm glad to see that guys are getting good jobs right. And if if daimler stays chauncey billups for his first head. Coaching opportunity will have gotten a good job championship. Maybe not but are the blazers going to be a great team. Very competitive urine. You're out as long as lillard. There in chauncey gets to benefit from that. Then yes quick side note and i alluded to this in my morning..

"See it that way were you know with shamrock colored glasses. Let's do whatever we can to help the celtics. I don't care if he has a ten year deal. Why don't we just let them go to boston. And then destabilizer franchise so these things are real. Look it's a competitive business. You know i. I don't know what clay bennett would have. Said if we across. Back and steve pagliuca called or if they tried to back channel. I have no idea. I'm just telling you the way i think. The process went for the celtics. And why they did not do or seemingly did not do with prestige. They had a guy they like. They want to give them a shot. They realize if they slide him over from head coach to president of baseball operations they can retain relative stability with mike. Seren austin and others in the front office helping. Brad grow on the job. So that's what they decided to do. And like you said. This decision was not made after the loss in game five last night. This is a multi month process that You know according some of the reports i read today started right after the trade deadline in late march. And then you know was was solidified. A finalized early this afternoon. When they had the press conference down might have even been earlier. I asked whic at the press conference you know like when asking him about kind of doing a national search he said that his conversations with brad start around them but he got a feeling that brad and danny had discussed it a lot earlier than when he originally discussed it. So yeah i mean. I have a time ever criticizing brad stevens. I've been one of his staunchest defenders even through all the problems of the last couple of years. He is again. Brilliant basketball mind. Says that job. If you have a chance to at least try to go get that. I i think you had to make an effort a couple last things. He's got to hire a coach now. Any thoughts on. What kind of coach makes sense for the celtics now that they're going to interview internal candidates in boston. They've got some good ones. they're j-league league has been interviewed for head. Coaching job by multiple teams in the past. Scott morrison is excellent. He coached the main formerly known as red clause for several years up there before becoming an assistant coach under brad. Jerome allan s head coach. The college ranks has a good reputation among others on that staff and after they get through that then then they're going to look outside the organization offer. Email you up with brooklyn as a strong candidate. Adoga comes from the spur system coached in philadelphia. Brett brown has worked for the nets. Now working for the nets under steve. Nash think he's a fine candidate for that job. But any sense about or any any thoughts. On what kind of coach makes sense to work for. Brad stevens and coach this roster. I think you hit the nail. On the head. Chris with them starting internally. I honestly think that would probably be a tougher sell to ownership than hiring somebody externally. I think the perception or not would be wait. A minute now is brad stevens going to be the president of basque operations but also have his hand influence with one of his assistants being promoted to the head share..

"It was really physically based that would be a good show. But quick example would be a dog that won't eat. And before thinking the dog be sick people thought. Well, he's just not eating because he doesn't like this food. Even though this food is healthy for him. And he's being picky. And he wants me to give me table scraps come up with all sorts of things and in actuality, the dog has a raging ulcer, and he doesn't eat because he doesn't feel good. I got lots of their stories. So please don't assume Adoga stubborn don't ever soon that because it's not true. And don't assume that he knew. Knows when he does something wrong. We love to attribute these human foils two dogs. People will tell me, well, I was working late. I was on a big project, and I was away from home a long time and my dog got spiteful, and he went on my bed. Your dog was not spiteful your bed, smells, the most. Like you. And when a dog's routine is offended. He gets stressed dogs. Love routines. That's why daylight savings time messes up because you didn't feed them on time. Right. That's when they start staring at you in our earlier or they're delighted when you see the what they perceived to be an hour earlier, depending on which way, we're falling back or springing head on the daylight savings time for those of us who do have to do that. I envy you Arizona that doesn't. But people assume that the dog being spiteful will your bed has a ton of your sent in it you sleep there. It's very concentrated. If your dog is stressed. He's going to go to place where he feels comforted which is your bed when dogs are stressed. They can eliminate they p. It's a stress response. Not a spite response. Myth myth myth, remove them from your vocabulary? They're not being spiteful. They're definitely not being stubborn. Here's another fun. One a dog's mouth is cleaner than humans. Oh, heck, no, no. While there lots of germs and a dog's mouth that our dog specific. And they may not hurt. You heaviest seen what they lick. Have you seen what they eat at stuff is not clean, and it is not cleaner than your mouth. So no now do I let dogs kiss me on the face. Yes. I do. I don't have a problem with that. Not everybody likes it. Yes. I let them kiss me. I don't have a problem with that. I know though that that mouth is not cleaner than mine. Another one really good myth that Jay contributed was socializing dogs easy. Just bring him to the dog park. This kind of falls in line with what I was talking about earlier that if your dog is afraid of something bring it to a big social gathering and that will get the dog right over it. He'll get used to it. He'll he'll he'll acclimate to this peop-. I think that dog parks are for socializing dogs dog. Parks are great for dogs that are already social they're great for dogs, especially analysts that have a ton of energy that they already like other dogs. They're already good with other dogs dog parks are not for socialization that why I never recommend taking a puppy to a dog parks worst place. You can go because you can't control all the other dogs in the park. You can't control with that puppies interaction is. And if you do it during a critical socialization period that puppy could have negative consequences against it for life. There are bullies at dog parks people. And there's this bad influences in a dog park. They can be great places that can be bad places, depending on the dogs and the people in them, and if you can't control that environment, you were setting your puppy up to fail socialization is really critical, and it has to be done, right. Or you be accomplishing the exact opposite of what you wanted to do you. Get your dog to be confident and social and get along with people and other dogs and taking him to a dog park in order to do that is not the way to do it. You could be actually undoing any kind of work you put into it. So far dog parks can be fun. Great places for dogs that are already social they are not for socialization moving in a completely different direction. Now, Natalie also contributed one four death dogs. She said she'd like to see some positive attention paid to death dogs of common myth about deaf dogs is that they'll turn on you. If they're startled because they can't hear they're just jumping little creatures that are completely leaping in horror at everything around them. And there's no evidence approves that. There's scientific evidence that present. Is it true that you can start a dog? Yes. You can also startle any dog. Are they more likely to be startled because they can't hear perhaps? But that doesn't mean they're going to turn aggressive on you because of that. Plus, you could teach them not to be as startled. You can you could absolutely use training. To make them like being tapped on the rear end. Lou trying to get your attention or touched on the shoulder or touched on the head or coming up behind them. You can absolutely use training to negate that. But there's no evidence or proof that shows that deaf dogs are going to just turn on you and be all these aggressive nasty dogs simply because of their deftness remember, especially if they were born deaf all they've ever known to kind of used to it dogs. Adapt so much better than people do to disabilities. I had three legged dog for many years, and he didn't know it three legs. He ran around like any typical labrador we pay for it later as he developed arthritis. But it didn't slow him down at all. I've known lots of dogs who grow blind, especially as they get older and they're fine. They run into things at first. But there's ways to help them daft and they go through life, just fine. They have some adjustment period. Of course. But there okay deaf dogs born deaf. I do find a lot of dogs can really loud. 'cause they don't have the volume of their voice, but that's a personal anecdote Kim can't say there's a study on that either. But I don't think that there is scientific proof that dogs just because they're deaf are gonna turn on you dogs. Also are not colorblind. Did you know that a lot of people? There's a myth dogs are colorblind will recent studies show that dogs can see blues yellows greens and some shades of gray how they tested that. I'm not really sure something with the cone and the rod in the eye. But we used to think the dogs were completely colorblind. It's not true, not true. The more. We learn the more we can bus some of these miss. So are you ready for the next one? Here's a statement. Tell me if it's true or false dogs are sick. If their noses are warm is that a myth is it a trick question. Find out when we come back. You're listening to get positive results on pet life.

"He struggled without past two years and two can can he provide? What does he provide as a pass rusher? Now, I think because you have to double him and a lot of situations and because his ability to to drive off into Weimin back into this spot of the quarterback that even if he's not gonna finish and have big sack numbers when he's healthy. He's productive. They're you know, productive doesn't have to be isolated to sack numbers. It. You've move move a quarterback off the spot and get him to throw the ball away or lead to a sack for from Cleveland Farrell or Christian Wilkins, or you know, Bryant coming off the other end that's production too. Because you're the reason that that quarterback ran into. Jack. So I think he can be very productive. I think he's a top twenty five pick in this draft. I you know, because of those things I mentioned I can see if he got past fifteen in that sixteen to twenty five range, but I'd be I'd be really surprised if he's not a first round pick. And I would even start to get surprise. If we got two picks twenty six to thirty two and he was still on the board. Mel is there a quality George Morin ashes are equality mid round guard or center that the jets should be targeting. If they decided to stand, Pat, you know, take a pass rusher a DVD or something like that at number three. I don't I don't can't imagine DB goes that early. But yeah, I think from amid round standpoint point guard center or something like the fourth round area. I think I didn't there's some tackles who can play guard and have an we'll be projected the gardening Chuma Adoga from USC is a guy maybe second round has third round. But I think he's when MAC Scharping northern Illinois tackle can play guard. I think you look at Nick Davis at Charlotte, the to Oklahoma kids, Gerusa me and Ben powers of you looking at centers where does Michael Jordan, Ohio State end up in this draft. So I think there's going to be some some pretty good depth. When you talk about some of these guys Todd dropping into that third fourth round air that mid round area from that center guard position. All right. Todd sounds like this guy needs therapy. So maybe two minutes of Todd time, we'll help Abby. So can you please help a cardinal's fan rationalize taking Cuyler at number one? Yeah. You get the fifteenth pick. And then you go out, and and Phil another need. And that's that's basically it. And here's the bottom line. If that's the route, they go, then, you know, that the organization first of all is is committed to your head coach and at the head coach clearly has made it obvious that they think that he's a better fit Cuyler Murray for the new offensive system that the version of the air raid clips going to run in the NFL. So I to me if that's how it goes. Then I'm looking at it and saying, you know, what my organization for the first time in a few years now is kind of all on the same page. I would do it as a positive now. It doesn't mean they can try to make it happen. And if they just don't get a trade for Josh Rosen Rosen than they have to walk away from the table. I think because you're not going to bring in Cuyler Murray. And then not be able to unload Rosen that doesn't make sense. But what makes sense is you get the fifteenth pick for Rosen. You take the guy that you think fits your ski. Team. And then at fifteen which is very similar to what you spent last year five picks off the tenth pick and you had to move up to get him. So the value is the same. If not better to me. So you get Cuyler Murray the perfect fit your your head coach is happy. And then at fifteen you have offensive line needs wide receiver needs cornerback needs. You can fill a big void with that fifteen pick. And now you've got both essentially you're not getting your quarterback Rosen with Nick Bosa. I get it. But if Rosen doesn't fit if they don't think he can stay healthy. And they're worried that he's gonna walk away from football and a few years because he he's getting beat up and just not happy anymore..

"Kingsbury factor with the Zona cardinal everything. Kind of has come together. Perfectly for him to be the number one pick overall. We're talking about Virginia right here with Steven ESPN radio. ESPN news running back on offense and Lyman showing up at the NFL scouting. Combine today. This is the day for them when I think about offense of Lyman Melkite Virginia. I think about this kid quitting Nelson that the colts drafted I think about how he buffeted the offensive line. I think about how much more pleasurable life was for Andrew luck in his return last year after missing the entire previous season. And so obviously when you talk about an offensive line. That's almost everything in a world of football in this day and age is Dan offensive lineman to stand out in your mind that everybody should pay attention to and give recognition to but this upcoming NFL draft. No, there's nobody in that league. And that's the issue. There's not an offense or guard in that league is so on Taylor Florida will end up being the top pure tackle. I think Jona Williams from Alabama winds up top pure guard. Maybe even a center, I think there's some guys that are going to be second to fourth rounders like Chris Lynch from for Boston College like Kana McGovern from. Penn State that are going to be go Ben Shaw from Wisconsin or be really good players in the NFL. But they're not gonna go Chuma Adoga from USC is a guy ROY lake. Underrated. Maybe second rounder. He's only six three and a half. But he's got long arms. Great feet. So I think there's going to be plenty opportunities without fence alignment in that second third fourth round area. But in the first round, it's just not happening colleges. Developing wide receivers they're not developing offense. It back. What about the running back spot for this is who do you like good? I like Josh Jacobson Alabama. I like him as a first round us ability. I think he can do everything you wanna running back to doing runs with a chip on a shoulder. He runs hard. He was productive the second after seasoning, chechnyq and block. I think you look at a guy like Devon single tear Florida Atlantic over seven hundred career carries never been hurt. He's like, I very dependable would like to catch a little more than think a work on once. He's in the league. But he's a good pure running back hiding if the guy like mile Sanders, very underrated coming out of Penn says bench snow under rain coming out of Kentucky. I think those guys Bryce love coming off the injury were how far does he dropped the it was a one time. Remember the first round pick. Yeah. Baby. And Harris, the forgotten men and Alabama. He went back to Alabama. But if he's the guy, but it ended up being the Josh Jacob show lately here. How far does Damien higher soldiers? You get into the third round or go in the second round where he probably should Daryl Henderson, very versatile at Memphis. Can do it all David Montgomery? Keep the. Chains. Moving type of inside guy who's got a little city outside. So there's a ton of running back Steven most of which will go all of which outside of Jacobs will go second to fourth round. It's going to be some really good running backs in that late. Let's say they too early faith Ri category..

"It is time for males big board Mel hyping. He is the most fascinating intriguing player in the district the NFL draft. He's got the answers who you should take who you shouldn't take strappy. No. Junior keeps the latest milk, hyper chewier NFL draft big board. You gotta love a big board. You're gonna do off its tackles. But before we start male. I want to ask you this question earlier, you were saying to me that college football is not developing ofensive lineman as well as it used to. And that that's an issue explained to me quickly. Why? And how big is an issue if that for the league, specifically tackles are not being development and they're catching they're not driving. We see you'll have may fourth in one passes. How many fourth and goal from the one yard line. You're seeing one yard touchdown pass destroy. We're always said I never threw a one yard touchdown pass on my career. I Larry Allen. I had Eric Williams. I'd Mark step Nacion Emmett Smith running behind boost Johnson. I'm there are no way of my thrown a one or two yard touchdown pass. Well, you see that now heavily in the NFL every week. Okay. Tackle play coming out of college. You just don't see and you can see even. In the guys I'm going to get to now. And then the question Mark surrounding them. And how they got to this point is there. So the guard center spots pretty solid, especially this year tackle spots. Again. A major question, Mark. All right. Let's hear your big board. I got three guys that are tied for that this spot you could just from West Virginia, MAC Scharping northern Illinois and Chuma Adoga from USA. And if you say, okay, editor that group who can go inside. And that Scharping can be a right tackle right guard. He said when it left tackle the last two years versatile kid Chuma Dogo same thing. Right. Tackle guard possibility that are really good job at the senior bowl practices. Both those kids. I think have a chance to be inside interior guys once drafted into the NFL at number four. I'm gonna go to a kid who was one of those max, and that we talked about that we said the offense tackle, it could be a top ten pick is great little from ole miss, but he didn't have the consistency. Matt that you need to. That's why Greg little instead of being the number one offense of tackle left tackle coming out. Ole miss is. Now at number four. That's the thing. He was a leap coming out of high school. He showed flashes of brilliance, but the consistency was lacking. That's why instead of being a top ten to fifteen pick. He's a borderline first round draft choice. Greg little ole miss left tackle comes in at number four number three Andre Dillard, offensive tackle at a Washington say he's a left tackle who can Pash protect this past season. You'll just one second six hundred and seventy seven pass attempts most polished left tackle by four of. This group is foot work is outstanding does a great job Mirroring and pass protection. Kenny drive you off the ball, and he'd be a guy can assist that running game. We'll see moving forward. That's a question Mark with Andrei Dillard, he right now looks like a mid to late first round draft choice at number three guy them. Sure you've seen a lot of during his career. When you think about guys that are right there at number two and three I said Joon Taylor is right there with Dillard, Joon Taylor's, right tackle towards the left tackle that are kind of. Co two and three Matt because you've got the left tackle we lead and Dillard, potentially and the right tackle and Juwan. Taylor has been a fixture at right tackle. We'll ask three years. He unlike some of the other guys can dry defenders off the ball is athletic enough to get to the second level..

Let's join coach Harvey Hyde, and Chuck as as they provide live analysis of SC football the Pac twelve conference and the latest college football action of the day. Well, good evening everyone. To buckle up, and it's time to ride along with us here, what are Gioja football report. And as you heard by the south point hotel casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. As we always say, we want you to be what safely buckled up riding along with us Chuck as joins us. And you know, as we always say the Trojan family the Trojan football programmer Eddie job, if you work at it is you have to go year round. But this year the Trojan football program. Well, it continues to have breaking news every day in some area, and again tonight, Chuck as joins us with the Pac twelve so a few teasers for to the we can talk about it. Maybe it will involve Las Vegas. We certainly hope. So, but Chuck before we get too far into the show, buddy. Thank you for joining us, and we call it the fastest app powered radio coach great to be with you tonight. Hey on some of this coming out of the university park. SC sixty nine air going to state sixty seven USC I at twelve and eight overall five and three in the pack twelve this weekend coming up they'll be heading up north to play Washington huskies or the Washington state Cougars. And then of course, we look forward to the end of February they'll meet UCLA in Westwood which is always a big big game. But could be tonight in football never stops. As you mentioned me. University of southern California had two players represented in this year senior bowl corner. Eamonn Marshall offenses tackled. Chuma Adoga people Scotty backgrounds feel that they were probably the most consistent guys. They're all week and they both played well on Saturday. So that's positive news coming out of mobile, Alabama. Chuck it is and sometimes kids just need to get motivated US's. Always had great talent. And sometimes they don't play up, dude. Their ability, not only just did you? I see. But anything you do. But these two kids need to be motivated, and I think getting down there with other great players and having the individual workouts the entire week. And when you look at what happened to the senior bowl, you have to PROST apps that are coaching these teams, you have all the scouts that are down there and so on and have individual drills every single day the game main something, but not really. Much as a drills and the evaluation that the players perform as far so the coaches there with full uniform on it's not like a combine where the combine your really address for some type of. I know the tash. Yeah. Never mind detract shoes. All the different things that you want to get the best time job the highest lateral vertical. Jank job long job, all these different things. But but down at the senior bowl you're in full uniform. And you're performing you're being time, you're doing all the different things you have to do. And sometimes kids need to be motivated and say, hey, you know, what you don't have a great report you have to great potential so time you show, these coaches down here at scouts down here that you can play. And I think that was great for those two Trojans. They have the opportunity to play in the senior bowl. It's a great ballgame. I've attended it. I've gone through the process. So I know exactly what it's all about. And it's the elite. It's the best of the best in the senior bowl. There's a lot of all star games that are out there. But the Trojans had to in there. And by the way, Chuck after the end of the senior bowl Todd, Hugh at the equipment man told me Thursday night when I had about another. Show. He says those kids get to keep their seat their halibut's every senior their place at USC part of their gift as far as going on and moving on is they keep their help. But sometimes they say cleaned it up for me and paid it. And then sometimes they say I wanted with all scars at all the grass and everything that's on it. So it's a great all star game the senior bowl you, and I both been part of participated in these games as coaches and scouts and so on. So we know what it means. Yeah. Ask you if you had your chance to get your helmet when you're done playing. How would you want? It would you want it all touched up. What would you want it raw in different colors other as an offensive lineman? No, you know, a lot. There's different ways that people want. I would want mine all polish up with new decals, the whole thing the way it's supposed to look, but just take so much pride in the uniform you wear, and I would think that I would want my dog cleaned up ready to put on my at my office, or I may trophy case or somewhere at you and Al D. Well, we did a lot of you know, there's only so many years that helmet last. So what we used to do for alumni and boosters we would take the old helmets that were not being able to be worn again. And we would strip the inside so people couldn't wear them. And then we drill a hole in the top. We make a lap with them. So they'd have a rebel helmet lamp and a lot of these were sold people really love. These you put a strangle a light bulb, and then you turn it on and you have a rabble rabble helmet lap. So there's a lot of different things you could do with these. And and a lot of people really like these, and I know the players love to keep their uniforms or their jerseys. And sometimes you make that happen. Well, coach, you know, talk to you about all star, James. It all starts if you're winning and the Pac twelve conference is a conference that added a championship game. It was started in the southeastern conference. It was the first to habit the Pac twelve had their game. And they moved it. So Levi stadium in Santa Clara now announced many communist, then maybe this past this last year coming up in two thousand nineteen will be the last year that the Pac twelve plays this game in northern California your feelings because I know you've been an advocate for your city for a long long time. And it looks like it's going to come to fruition. What Chuck when it all came about it when the Pac twelve divided up into two sections north and the south and there was going to be a championship game. Tina kuntsler Murphy was van the athletic director or no the executive director. The Las Vegas bowl at that time, and I went to her and we went to Las Vegas advance. And we put a proposal together. I told her I think it'd be the best place for the Pac twelve to have their Pac twelve championship game in Las Vegas. And we went through we talked to his name Liberati was running the samples Boyd stadium. We said how many seats can you make for the maximum as far as the Sam Boyd stadium and have the Pac twelve championship game here, and it came down to three different locations, San Diego, Santa Clara and Las Vegas. It. Really? Did we made the final three? And I always felt that the best place to have this game is Las Vegas because it's the hobbit the Pac twelve you've got Arizona. You've got Utah. You at California got Washington. You've got Oregon state you've got all these states that surround the great city of Las Vegas, Nevada. And it's there's many reasons to come to the game not just for you know, a football game. Which is what you primarily do. But there's so many other activities that can happen shows and other things that you can make a huge weekend out of and the Sam Boyd stadium with a really walking in Las Vegas would really welcome. Because you know, when you have a Washington Blaine USC or a team like that the north against the south Stanford against UCLA or estate you've got what you call a bowl game in Las Vegas. This is a special event. But at that time, Larry Scott didn't buy that. He went to San Francisco or Santa Clara place. It's really not ready for this type of event because the rooms are so high so expensive in Las Vegas at this time around December the first attempt to whenever they add this championship game. It's the perfect time to bring in teams and people to Las Vegas as far as being able to. Enjoy the great city now right now, I would say you would say you mentioned it to me today that you thought Los Angeles with their new stadium might be a site. And I don't I don't agree with that. I don't think that would be fair first of all because you have two teams in southern California and people don't want to travel in southern California because the different things such as traffic and all the different things they've been there. They've gone to the game there when their school played in southern California played USC or played UCLA. But they haven't been the Las Vegas for their Pac twelve team. So I think Las Vegas should bid on that. Or they should bring that the Las Vegas and Las Vegas events or whoever can go out and get this abandoned play it, of course, in the news steady would be absolutely fantastic. I think another special event like that in Las Vegas should happen. I was for this at least ten years ago or whenever it started. I took the idea that. Tina t the Las Vegas advance. We did everything we could to get it done. But it didn't happen. But I think this time it will Chuck. Well, you know, it starts at the beginning. And I've always questioned why the tax wealth media day would be at a movie studio, and I know you have stopped going to those meetings. Whether it was that FOX or paramount or Sony or Warner Brothers. You basically said this does not work, and I get another thing that's not working has been this championship game. So maybe they need to add media day to that and make it up and tied up in a nice little bulb. Oh, there's a lot of things that are gonna gonna happen to cut the Las Vegas. Chuck. We've talked about it ten years ago. And finally they're getting around to. But listen before we continue here with Trojan football report, we've got to take a short time out. Wanna welcome all of you out there. And I do want to mention one thing to before we take this break because some of you are traveling out there on interstate fifteen and some of you might be approaching exit twelve and some of you in the future might be driving the Vegas. Southern California, Utah, whatever you'll be on interstate fifteen, but it exit twelve which is Jane Nevada just about twenty miles south of Las Vegas. There's terribles roadhouse. That's right.
