And in Orange County, the elementary schools can now opt out of distance learning for the new academic school year. School's transitional kindergarten through sixth grade can apply to the state for waiver to bring students back to the classroom. The application requires detailed plans on how to keep students and staff safe. Fairmont schools in Orange County is among those applying in the state. We followed all California and CDC guidelines for safely reopening schools. And we were ready to re open on August 17th Prior to the governor's announcement on July 7th from Aunt schools, Kristen Jansen tells Can ex about one of the things they've done to keep everyone safe. The very first thing that we did. Wass changed out all of our restroom pictures to touch the things on the soap dispensers and the toilet flusher. ‘The Bachelorette’ Casting Shakeup Expected for Upcoming Season

"And I know we don't normally cover bachelor bachelorette stuff but this one thing kind of just took our interest and personally having watched bachelor in paradise. I have a real liking towards Teixeira. So we just wanted to discuss because I think it's interesting. So. As you guys know Clare Carly was the Bachelorette her season of course was interrupted with the whole Cova situation. And nothing is confirmed with basically the rumor is that she refused to continue shortly after filming began. Because she fell in love with one of her contestants. This guy named Del Moss he's thirty one. You know he there was a little bit of drama I think early on with his social media activity according to reality Steve which I can't speeches reliability but I can say he has been right. A lot of times said the basically she fell in love with him night one she gave him the first impression rose and she you know think about anyone else she felt so hard and she was done. and. So. I guess she really just didn't want to continue filming and so. The producers obviously were freaking out and Teixeira Adams who is twenty nine years old she was on Colton season she was basically the runner up. Her and Hannah after Colton basically quit to get. CASSIE and she was on Bachelor in paradise and she was dating John Paul. Jones. She's just a bombshell. I've always thought she was a class act. She's stunning. She's really good energy. I actually am really surprised that she was not always the choice now that I'm looking back on it although. I. Remember when Clare was initially announced we were thrilled because I think it's really exciting when. The woman is a little bit older maybe want something different in her life at that point whatever. But what's interesting is if you remember when they had done the initial casting, they had to let some people go because they wanted order contestants. So apparently, and again, I can't tell you this designed to present. This is what's being reported apparently, they kind of were calling back on both some of the contestants eight initially lecco because they were too young and also some of the contestants that Clare had eliminated. So I don't know what's going to happen, but you know Franz Verbs, let's just take this as factual. I think it's more fun to analyze it that way. And I have to say like while I'm thrilled if this is the case these I would so much rather watch tasty to be honest I think she's just really fun and lively and I didn't I got a bad taste in my mouth from Clare after initially liking the whole Matt James Situation I just thought that that was a little bit. I don't know I was not into it when she kinda call now for basically doing charity work and like I'm happy that Claire Found love that's going on. But what's the fuck? How many people think they found their person the first night you know what? Yeah. I mean listen I'm not a bachelor watcher. So I don't like there's a lot of I guess. Details and and patterns and things that happen over the seasons like with different people and people who nuclear people don't like I'm not involved in any of that I really don't know I have a very like personal view of the situation but to me I always thought the whole point was to find the person you wanted to be with the bachelor and a lot of people probably knew in the beginning but continued to date throughout the show like I just I just thought that was the point maybe I'm off with all of my lack of experience in the bachelor but from the very beginning watcher beginning understand her it seems like that's kind of the point of the show. No. I mean, yeah you know listen I do believe that there are certain times when you just know and you're like, this is my person and there's two sides to that one one I'm sure one side could say like. She's right. It wasn't paired the other guy she was doing them a favor, but the other side is. Okay fine. You have that in how much better of a story will be that at the end of the day you knew since day one I don't know the whole thing seems weird. If this is really the case, all I will say like of Clare's happy and she's with this guy in their happy he's hot For her but if tastes the Bachelorette, that would be some shit.

We have only indoor dining were reopened that such a trying time and given the current circumstances we want to ensure that I would guess feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I've been to several restaurants and I know it's not good for the owners, but not having as many people in there that is just a completely different, intimate experience. It's like having unique experience in transport you back in time to Imperial Russia, and you come here to experience a new culture and enjoyed a nostalgic cuisine. And right now we have only like 25 people at a time. And I think it makes that experience even more private and even more unique. Talk about the challenge. You've already touched on it in the pandemic, where you can't have a CZ many people there yet you need the cash flow. You know, you need to be open in some capacity as you try to hold on and maybe even make things work while we wait for the vaccine or something else to get here. Correct. The restaurants have even additional charges because we have to take have to spend on the gloves and sanitation and chemicals and face masks. It's even more challenging for the restaurant. "Messages. Christianity doesn't begin with a do. It begins with a done. Know who we are in Christ Adams First, day, on earth was not a day of work. It was a day of rest. He was created on the sixth day, and the seventh day was a day of rest, God blessed the seventh day. He rested on that day. So I think it's interesting that Adam began and rest. He didn't begin work. and. We need to realize that that God didn't call us to work real hard to change ourselves, so we could be real good. He wants us to have relationship with him, and then wanting to do the right thing will come out of the overflow of that relationship with him is not gonNA come, because we try really hard to be good. Are. Try really hard to change ourselves. Well Jesus are high priest. And he doesn't have to atone for his sins because he never sent. However he came in the form of a human, so he knows everything that we go through. We have a high praise. Hebrews four says that understands our weaknesses an iron. Because, he's been tempted in all points just like we have yet without sin, so he knows every patient that we go through. He experienced. Do, but yet he never sin. So he made the final sacrifice. And the Bible says that when he ascended on high, now get this. He sat down. And I started getting interested in why it says so often in the Bible that he sat then. To Him who is seated on the throne well, that should've said a lot more to the Jewish people than it does to us, but they didn't understand I can explain this to you today and say under that old covenant. There was no chair in the holy of holies. There was no place for them to rest no way to rest, but now Jesus. Sits. When he won the Bible says can sat down I. Mean that should have been like. We should have been doing the Hallelujah song before. He sat down. It's over Hallelujah Hallelujah. Can enjoy the in a Christian. I'm not a singer, so. That's why they didn't give me a microphone up here. But the better news. Even the better news is down in Hebrews two six where it says and we are seated in Christ with him in heavenly places. Do. You realize that being in Christ everything he got you get. Now we can live our lives to a vantage point of. Being seated in Christ, which means we can do everything we do. Having entered the rest of God. The rest got offers us as a super natural rest, and it's not arrest from work, but arrest in work in other words. Not You know this is my third time to do this. Since starting at seven o'clock last night, and so my body will be tired, but my inner man is renewed because what I'm full of life inside, even though my outer man is getting a little bit tired and I'll be tired or the time I get home. By the time I eat my dinner I'll be like. But inside. Come on church if you got it inside. If you got that life inside the Apostle Paul said. My Outer Man Perish is day by day, but my inner man is renewed a man. I'll be seventy seven and four months, and I just feel so alive inside. Inside it's what you got going for you inside. Worrying so much about everything that's going on outside your findings and your kids and your neighbors What's going on inside? Christ is in me the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me. I can do whatever I need to do through Christ. Who Strengthens me?

NFL Training Camp Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

"A look at the schedule and testing guidelines as things get going around the league, all players must pass three Cova tests over a four day span before entering the team facility, today and tomorrow players will. Will be tested and then return home to isolate for twenty four hours. Meetings are still virtual. After this period, players will be tested daily for the first two weeks, and then every other day. If the positive rate remains below five percent players do have the option to opt out. Really get back to that in just a moment, but first here's what a handful of head coaches are saying about today. Sorry I mean again. The emphasis will be that. We've got to follow the protocol. Be Very diligent with. That's the thing that I think that we're missing right now. A society is that. Is that not very diligent as we? Understand more and more about this. It seems that you know that that wearing a mouse washing your hands socially just. Trying to avoid large crowds You know you give yourself a chance. We're fortunate that we're testing here testing. And you know so. We're getting results quickly. Other thing that's been beneficial. Of Our and Continuing maintain, Around the League, a number of US going to have to be the best teammates we've ever been because we're GONNA have to not only take care of one another, but we're really looking after your families, too, because we're going to make the best decisions off the field and I think we've also learned you can do all the right steps, and still you know have positive tests so. We'll take them when those happen. We'll deal with them, and that's why the protocols are in place. And there's this component so far. Nine thousand nine hundred players have opted out of the upcoming season, and the list is growing some notable names here. Including Three Patriots starters also. You've heard GPS guard Lawrence do Vernay Tardif and bear stalwart Eddie Goldman. Adamant feels like this list has been growing by the minute today. Take us through exactly what the opt out means and the deadline to do so the impact of this. We'll susie this situation where I think a lot of players are concerned about what they're seeing across the country with the spikes in various states, some of these players who are opting out have friends, relatives, family members who are sick. Who may have passed in this particular case, every situation is unique and different. Dont`a hightower welcome to child in the middle of July Patrick shown is scheduled to have a child in the near future, and I think players are looking out for their safety and feel unsettled about the fact that the virus has affected certain segments of the society more of the disaffected others. It has affected the elderly, I. Think we're going to hear more and more. More about coaches around the NFL something. We're not hearing a lot of right now. It is affected minorities and I think some of these players have been scared off by and are opting for the opt out for this upcoming season. We've seen a higher than expected number of opt-outs and again players have until August third to officially. Opt Out so this may just be the beginning we have six opt outs from the new. England patriots already, and there may be more coming across the League Uzi.

We got Gina Martin Adams with US chief equity strategist from Uber Intelligence. She joins us from New Jersey as the state Wilson Stocks editor for Bloomberg. He's also in the Garden state, So Dave quickly set the stage for us What's underneath this trade? Well, you look at the 11 main industry groups in the S and P 500 it it looks rather familiar Technology starts of leading the way you look at the consumer discretionary category, which is basically amazon dot com and it's up, you know so kind of a familiar story. Communication services, which is You know, Facebook and alphabet. The owner of Google also hire and you know, it's really their weak those kinds of companies because you talk about the $4 trillion companies in the S and P 500. Based on market value. You have three of them, You know, reporting on the same day coming up on Thursday, I'm calling it a triple A afternoon because you get alphabet. You know, the owner of Google and amazon dot com and Apple. It just goes to show you what kind of week it's going to be, You know, quote something like 1/3 of the S and P 500 companies reporting today pretty quiet on that front, but it really does pick up tomorrow and carries through the rest of the week. So you know it isn't just about the Fed policymakers getting together. It's about what companies are going to have to say in their results. Absolutely. Technology is going to be front and center this week, but it's interesting because when I look at the most actively traded stocks by value, and I look at foreign common stocks Nine out of the 10 Most actively traded stocks are all gold miners or precious metals miners, and that speaks to the rally that we've seen in gold prices. Gina material stocks certainly in favor right now, as people continue to bid, gold and silver prices higher. Do we have any sense of whether this will be reflected in their earnings? Probably not. But I mean, I think it's a bit early to expect that the companies are actually going to produce earnings results is a result of the price action and gold. So I do think that the materials sectors Most likely to be one of the weaker sectors within the S and P 500 in terms of actual output from an earnings perspective that said, I do think that if you start looking at value names in the S and P 500 you could have an opportunity for a lot of beats expectations. So if you think about the sort of values styles in a broader set I get 15 stocks on a list of stocks in our high value bucket as well as the S and P 500 per your value index that report this week. All of them are expected to have just really, really weak earnings just kind of tremendous decline, some of them even with negative earnings, and as a group, they're starting to experience positive estimate revision, which is very different than what day was talking about, with the big heavyweight tech companies facing a completely alternative. With higher expectations going into their earnings. It's less likely that they can sustain those expectations, where some of the values that actually might be able to beat very, very low forecast.

New York Jets trade Jamal Adams to Seattle Seahawks

"News this weekend, of course, was the Jets finally trading Jamal Adams for Ah, bunch of draft picks and another safety use 29 years old, sort of a journeymen but ah, serviceable player. I have a friend, a couple of columnist. National columnists who think that Seattle got the better of this deal. What are your thoughts? Well, I I think it's a rare situation where both teams Win the trade. I mean, almost everybody involved winds. Destrade. Because Jamal Adam's got what he wanted. The jet's got something back from a player who, very obviously no longer had any interest in being here and was going to do anything he could To make the Jets miserable if they kept him and Seahawks get an impact player of who could help them contend for school. Obviously, they think there they're close to contending and Jamal is a kind of a special player where He may be able to do more than other safety's do so. I think You could make an argument for anybody wanting this trade, but I think if you look at it from the jet standpoint For them to get this kind of compensation for guy who just wanted no part of being here. Get to first round picks. I don't think many people saw that happening. And from that standpoint, it's a win for the Jets.

Matt Adams agent called him Let him know that the Braves Especially with Nick Markakis opting out they needed a levitated baton areas. Take a left Hang a left shoot down in Georgia. That shift on big hole on the left side and right at the shortstop's position Normally where shortstop would be playing with a straight up positioning, and Matt Adams. He took a fast ball. It was a little bit elevated little bit in. He's a powerful guy that can hit home runs, but he Purposely pulled his hands close to his body so that he could just power that ball back up the middle to get that run across. That's the kind of hitting that fires up the dugout because they know Hey, this guy's all about the team and all of us about us putting runs up on the board. Marcel Ozuna just got a shot of him in triumph with both arms up. He was able to move the runner over on a long fly. Here's me, Swanson first pitch swinging lofts. One too short. "Recent and was done out of financial necessity so the pair were at this point in their lives in a dire financial state because even just had finished his national guard training. He hadn't hadn't started yet. He hadn't been assigned to a position so there was no money coming into the households and they've got four kids to adults in one on the way so they were actually forced into moving into a mobile home on Justin's. Mom's property in her name again is Tina so they had all these kids mounting expenses and Christmas miss was coming in this was Jamie's favorite holiday and they really didn't want their kids to wake up Christmas morning with nothing so it's unclear and nobody really knows who's idea India. The sex working was but neither of them were opposed to it especially because the idea of Jamie having other sex partners was not something offensive or offputting to Justin. They were already in this sort of swinger lifestyle and it was something they both were on par with. I you know in the mom mom. Tina who's Jason's mom had only found out about the sex work by accident when the couple once left their laptop open and saw a craigslist posting that they had made together gather and the crowd craigslist subject line read quote come help us and said I am willing I am letting any willie man can come and have his way with my wife with a little compensation for us to help with our holly funding. We need so if this sounds hot and fund to you than just email. Tell me we have a hotel for the night and can host for anyone. Antena confronted the couple when she found the posting and Justin. Jamie just said it won't happen. Okay so now we're GONNA get back to the investigation so just ended up sharing everything we just learned with the police and even told them that normally he would have gone on along with Jamie to make sure that she's safe but on that particular night they couldn't get a sitter for the kids so he had stayed behind and Astra texted regularly to let him know where she was but the police were baffled at what they were hearing because remember these are conservative cops in Oklahoma and this is probably not something that they they are normally used to they couldn't understand how and why a husband would support his pregnant wife as a sex worker and there are so many things to consider center with this revelation first of all was G me really a sex worker was her husband saying these things because he might have been involved in her disappearance for some reason or another and with a police putting their judgments aside another daunting thing to consider was that if Jimmy was a sex worker this now drastically widens the pool of potential suspects. Justin spoke out to the media and you could see his tearful pleas on the news begging whomever who was responsible for causing his wife to disappear to please let her go said if by some miracle you're watching this. I want you to know that I love you and and I cannot wait to see you again and as is happening I mean Justin is actively looking for his wife trying to appeal to the media best he can. Dan with the police are kind of running through the potential theories and no matter what they thought of whether it was could this be random. Could this be you know one of her clients. They kept landing back on the man sitting right in front of them. Justin may not have realized it with the police had their eye out for inconsistencies in his story and there were many not to mention the over lying about what genie was up to that night if he lied about that. What else could he be lying talking about. The detectives also noticed something strange. Injustice were choices as he was speaking. He kept referring to his wife in these interviews in the past tense when they asked him how long he'd been married to Jamie he responded with. It would've been a year in February and remember Jamie at this point has only been missing using for a couple of days very interesting so this case in I think this is a very interesting dichotomy in that like it was getting getting a ton of media coverage and I was actually impressed because once it was revealed that she was a sex worker. I was worried that maybe that wouldn't be the case but that was not true. Everybody was paying a lot of attention to the story. I anguish introduce our first degree right now. Her name is Sandra. She lived right in this neighborhood. She heard the second. This woman went missing and was following the case very closely the one thing we're not gonNa tell you this time which we normally would is how it is connected to the case but you will learn later. I know when Jamie Adams went missing and it was before Christmas and they kept showing pictures of her family and her husband and it tells my heart I mean it was before Christmas yeah I it was a fairly new mothers still so it was like I couldn't imagine my Kim about her kids age and they just to not be able to come home to my daughter. I mean I've deployed away from my daughter before and it bro- broke my heart but not not never be missing. I couldn't imagine what it was doing to her kids or her husband. So just go missing it. was I mean it was everywhere and we all pray that should be safe so all of Oklahoma. City is watching and waiting to see what is going to happen to. Jamie and the police are looking right at Jamie's husband Justin for answers. Justin also told them that in the days since Jamie vanished he been conducting his own investigation and that he'd spoken to the manager at a Denny's which was near the McDonalds Donald's where Jamie's van was found the owner of the Denny's told him that he had seen Jamie paying for her meal at around three. Am I am on December tenth so she left the house between ten and eleven and nine so this would be what four hours later investigators they go to the Denny's they find the manager of the Justin said he was speaking with. The managers told police that I didn't remember seeing Jamie Adams and the surveillance video from the restaurant also didn't show her the restaurant either so this is really weird. Is this another lie or is it some misunderstanding so the police then untold Jamie's van from the McDonald's parking lot and it's searched and they find Jamie cell phone inside her Tan two thousand four Chrysler Van Justin who is being fully cooperative surrenders his phone to the police as well and cell phone data for both Jamie and Justin are pulled in port over and there are many things that the police are able to glean for their viewed and the first thing they now new conclusively was that Justin was not lying about the sex work. Jamie had conversed with four four clients that night and now luckily the police had names in con- contact info for these men but the thing that was the most glaring about the cell phone data was that it seemed to directly contradict Justin story in fact the two phones had actually been together for the entire evening and this is a really big thing because if Justin had been with James Phone all night he must know more than he was letting onto the police or worse he might have been the reason for Jamie's disappearance right so these are big revelations. The police have marching orders number. One contact clear the four craigslist clients. Jamie had conversed with that night but to them at keeping an eye on Justin was actually a top priority because it was seeming more and more likely to them that he was involved some how each of the four clients clients all kind of have alibis and there are no red flags that are raised. I mean soliciting sex work is against against the law and Oklahoma so they're not denying that but there was nothing out of the ordinary that stood out to them immediately when they spoke to these men so at at this point once they talked to them nothing standing out as crazy alarming they decide to focus all their efforts entirely on their prime suspect yeah and if you think it already looks bad for Justin. It's about to get worse so it turns out the couple did not have a perfect marriage turns out that two months before Jamie we disappeared Jim Report to the police that Justin had actually assaulted her. Jamie and three or four children were taken to a women's shelter in Norman two months months before she disappeared. No paperwork was filed about this incident because the pair reconciled but the police also did more digging and they learn that Justin actually had a hundred thousand dollar life insurance policy out on Jamie and as soon as Jamie was turned to be officially dead Justin Justin would be in line for that hundred thousand K. payout right and it's even crazier one a week after Jamie vanished. Justin was seen around town with another young woman. He was seeing someone and had a new girlfriend and this was just a week. After Jamie went missing. It is not a good look. It's not a good luck and meanwhile Jamie. It's nothing has been found dead. I mean shameless missing yeah. He's two months pregnant and with every week that goes by. I mean that just station period goes onto and everybody's worried now. I mean it's been six days since she vanished. There's no sign of her. No activity on her bank accounts please start to increase the very real the possibility that she could be deceased especially given the fact like. I said that she was pregnant. No money no car phone nothing on her person none of your personal items they feared the worst but remained cautiously hopeful so six days after Jamie's disappearance they're you're leaning on. Justin and Justin says I'll take a polygraph test and here are the results he was found to be deceptive when he was was asked to you know your wife's whereabouts.

"Twenty five year old Jamie Adams in thirty year old Justin atoms were newlyweds who lived in the suburbs of Oklahoma City so the pair were like your average you know. Oh mid twenties early thirties couple. They were trying to figure it out. They were parenting. Jamie is four kids that were aged between infant and seven years old there therefrom previous marriage and they were excitedly expecting their first child together in Jamie was around eight weeks pregnant so it was around December in the Christmas holidays were approaching. Jamie apparently loved Christmas. She loved decorating wrapping gift. Giving the works making cookies cookies Caroline Santa route off you name it. She leapt up so this couple had a lot to be excited about and Justin had it just returned home from basic training after enlisting with the National Guard is acts duties had not yet started so he would be home with his family through the holidays which is something they were are all super excited about so our story starts late night on December nine th two thousand eleven the top on the radio was we found love by Riana and Calvin Harris US and movies in the theater were tinker tailor soldier spy and young adults with Charlie Stern who left love her so it's three a m when Justin bangs on the door of his mother's house. Jamie never came home. I can't reach her. He says he's panicked and he tells you that Jamie went to the crest grocery store between ten and eleven. PM and then went to meet a friend and then she went radio silent now Jamie adjusted live on just as Mother's property pretty and just as Mother's name Tina Clark so the Mother Tina and the son Justin hop in the car and go to look for Jamie at at five am as they're rolling through the streets they spot the wife span and it's sitting empty in a local McDonald's parking lot and they look inside. There's no sign of Jamie. They call the cops as soon as they can and they're trying to keep their composure right and when the police get there are Justin is in a full blown panic these agitated and he's kind of urging them to hurry up. He's asking open. The van helped me. Blah Blah Blah and they're kind of put off by him and the officers are asking him questions and he's kind of being evasive and he essentially actually release the circumstances of the events of evening explaining that he can't find or rich's wife now for whatever reason something about justice demeanor was very off putting to the officers. There's maybe he was too pushy. Maybe abrasive or maybe he was just being suspicious. Whatever it was they did not take to him at all they were very apprehensive of him and they asked for proof that the vehicle even belong to him in order to give him access to his wife's fan and this is for something for whatever reason he was unable to prove or provide to them and they didn't let him into Jamie's car and it was left there and later impounded by the police so the police accompanied Justin home and they ended up taking a missing persons report and when the police asked just in which friend his wife had gone to see he didn't have an answer and kind of grays over the question and was just generally super avoidance to them about that subject but he did make sure to punctuate the fact that Jamie was pregnant and she'd also take in her phone and Dan Laptop with her when she left that night he said that he had last heard from her when she texted him from the Fast Food Restaurant around twelve forty five in the morning and and when the police leave Justin Jamie's they try to encourage him to stay calm. Stay hopeful that she'll turn up. There could be reasonable reasonable explanation for all this right but just an antena just knew that something wasn't right right so after the missing persons report is taken. Justin and Tina go home and they the police. GonNa say all right. We'll be in touch. You know. Hopefully you hear from her. Whatever but two days slowly tick by and there's still no sign of Jamie Who has four children at home? It is seven day weeks pregnant so the investigation which probably wasn't doing anything thing yet because it was two days she's an adult there wasn't any signs of foul play was about to enter into kind of super speed and it was really going to catch their interest because two days later. Justin walked back into the police station went to the detectives who took the original report and said that he hadn't been truthful with them when he made the initial missing persons this report the police aren't totally shocked because they could tell that he was being evasive in avoidance during their initial contact with him so he tells them that he said the whole story about. Jimmy going to the grocery store and meeting. A friend was not true. It was a lie which was really heading out to do. The night was meet the client for sex sex. Jamie was a sex worker and his gut instinct was to lie to them in an effort to protect her and I'm sure on some level for checked himself not only from the potential Joel legal retribution but also didn't want police to be judgmental of his wife or anyone else for that matter so as it turns out the fact that Jamie had dabbled in sex work wasn't a total shock to either Justin or his mother Tina in fact many years back Tina had worked in law enforcement and she had been the one to tell her son to omit the fact that she was a sex worker to the police when he was making the missing persons report because she said that if the cops new gene was a sex worker they wouldn't put forth any effort effort to find her. That's the reason why he said that's why I lied. that's why. I didn't tell you the truth and it's true nature. It's true it's it's very unfortunate but it's smart that his mom would have told her that because if he was like. Oh Yeah my wife's sex worker. They could have very well been uh-huh well then she a high risk job John Her. That's and I think the setting in this case I think the fact that it's the suburbs of Oklahoma Ma is something that we have to remind ourselves of throughout this episode. It's like half of this is going to be because they want to solve the case in half of it. Is this judgmental sort of like elitist attitude about this whole thing emanates throughout so here's what Justin Austin tells the police he says that that night Jamie had actually gone to a motel in Norman to meet a client that she met on craigslist and which do is advertise advertiser services as a massage therapist but Justin said he also that she also engaged in sex work the final text that just received that night that Jamie went missing was that she was meeting another client just before midnight on December ninth at the McDonald's in Midwest city which is where van was found right and he then received one more text from her saying that the client never showed up and that was the last he heard from her. "This is leaders creators, and I'm your host Gerard Adams. This is a podcast showcasing today's change makers who dedicate themselves to creating the best Amar possible with vision with hustle and showing up world class. They offer advice they offer lessons. But most importantly, they offer you their mentorship. Because leaders create leaders and leaders are the ones that are impacting our world. Hi, my name is Sherry McDonald. And I m alita us creates leaders means reaching back and educating youth, especially as an entrepreneur, I believe that it is important to educate an power the next generation of leaders as well as fellow entrepreneurs who are on the rise. And this series has definitely done that with the inspiring Gerard atoms as well as the many speakers who were here today being a leader is not just being a boss or anything like that is truly meaning the people that you bring up. With you. And how they also excel in life and being able to teach being able to wear many, different hats and also continuously learning and educating yourself to empower others and giving them the knowledge and spreading the knowledge back into the community. I am so excited. I can't believe I'm sitting here a million. What is social impact? Yeah. It means so many things, and it's complicated by social media. So. Historically, I think a lot of these programs including ours called social investments, and then we had to shift with impact investments. But I think for us the way that we define social impact across prudential. And I would agree with this is if we had one under girding thesis, it's really that we want -tunities that are creating moments of upward social and economic mobility for individuals and communities, and I think that's really the key. Because you wanna make sure that what you're doing has a meaningful impact on the people. You're trying to serve and that they're better off after the investment than they were before the investment. So some examples could be if we're providing alone to a charter school here in Newark, we wanna make sure that they're educating kids and providing them with an opportunity that they may not have with another alternative here in Newark. And similarly like I gave with the fintech startups. We wanna make sure that if someone is taking out a student loan. They are quipped with the skills and the supports needed to complete their journey through college. Because we know that. That will have an immense impact on the earning potential and ability to just build their lives. And so that's really a core. Part for us is making sure that individuals and communities are seeing the upward mobility opportunities for them. It's amazing. It's interesting for me. I've been entrepreneur for fifteen years, and I to be honest with you, I actually never really thought about social impact. And I recently interviewed a gentleman his name is Jay Shetty, and he decided that a young age to become a monk, and he ended up going to India, and they actually dropped them off in the middle of nowhere for thirty days with just the robe. And I said you have to figure out how to kind of figure it out, and he said within the first week, you kind of have the survival mindset, which takes me back to like, you know, your background and my heritage to when people immigrated here, and and he said, you know, you kind of have this this mentality of just surviving. And then you realize that if you provide value for the community, he started with nothing if you just provide value for the community and start to work for them and help them you will get food back. You will start to get shelter. You you had to go through that in a second and third week. And then he then I realized that not only that okay? I got this like, I'm helping the community. I'm now have this abundance. I'm taking care of myself. But then you start he started realizing that, wow, there's other homeless people that actually or even less fortunate than I was when I started actually were blind or deaf or missing limbs or. Abandoned, and he's like, and now I realize that I can work provide for this community and not only take care of myself. But also take care of the people that are around me that need it most in the community. And that story really hit home for me because it took me so long like over a decade. You know, because I always, you know, it started off for me as an entrepreneur got us revive like, I gotta figure out a make money. I gotta pay my bills, and I got like figure out how to make it in the world. And then when I finally started to quote, unquote, make it and finally felt financially, you know, financially free stable financial wellness in my life. And I was able to take care of my family, then I really started to think about purpose. And I really thought I think about this term social impact in those when I decided to come back into norc in create a company named founders that I was able to build while allowing the revenue from that to support a nonprofit actually supported minority inner city children here in the city of. Teaching them each you and entrepreneurs are financial literacy and Deva's the moment of starting that company out of the off fifteen years of me ups and downs and entrepreneur the moment when I really realized about social impact, it was the most fulfilling moments of my life, helping those kids what point in your career. "Out of my studio. Doc you. Make it deviled egg. No clue. But I tell you what I do know. How you do it do. Yeah. So what you do is you hard boil the eggs, and then you cut them in half. And you take out the the hard-boiled yoke, right? Then you mix that with like, basically, everything that gives you diabetes. And then you put it in one of those bags that like you can like write stuff on cakes with you know, bless you. That was a cough. Isn't that funny? How we don't say bless you for cost, but for sneezes because if you're coughing you're actually sick and need a blessing when you're sneezing. It's not you just have some tickles knows, you know, stupid. But you know, what our comes from back in the day. I think this is true could be wrong. Get myself dang for it. Anyways. I think back in the day of the plague they thought you're in the play you're sneezing, you'd sneeze a lot like a sneeze fit. And I don't know if it really was true or like, they're just like crazy terrible doctors back then. But that's why people would sneeze. They'd say. Bless you because they're like, well, you're gonna fucking die your. Dead your done. Anyways. I got the black lung. Moore, man. Great reference. Great where Where'd really opt tracking? I fucking love this show so far egg. Oh my gosh. I'm never going to look at an egg the same guy. Oh, dude. Have you guys seen Frye festival? Yes. I want fire. He said fry. Oh. Yeah. Fire on my lesson. Talk about have you seen it yet? No. I have a must watch Morgan must be like, very busy. Yeah. You know, what it is? I get so distracted watching stuff. I'll watch it for five minutes, and I'll happy lightning just bothers me unless I have like a specific. But I did start watching you on Netflix. Okay. That is one show. I can and will finish. But I did have friends who were at was it five fire go they went I need to ask them on the show because they went and I like saw on their story. And apparently, a big disaster. Can we give her friends on to talk about fire better for you? What one of my good friends from college in the film, stop what Calvin wills what he's the guy who starts a fake account way to school with him. Yeah. He's a good friend of mine. And so I have so many questions for him. I almost I almost thinking about we should call them for this show because no he needs his own episode. I think so too. But like, I didn't know this Cal is a good friend of mine from from old miss. And then the joke was that. I'm wells Adams. He was Cal wells. So you're the two Wells', and we were like whatever he just moved back to Nashville who's living in New York. He's an investor and he does like tours, right? Here's my question is what was his. I didn't understand what his role was to begin with and the festival with you. Thank you invested in it guy you, but then he also noticed that a bunch of people on the Bill were his artists that he wasn't icy signing contracts for see I have a favorite part of the film, and I play it. Sure. Did you see my photo on the in the end? Yeah. You're in my mom said I could technically probably sue them for that. I don't think they have any money, but you could. Hulu are. But your one of the like the up and coming DJ's that's gonna be playing fire festival. So what it is? Is that the end they're showing a website that fire festival was creating this like Eappen website to book talent directly versus going to their agent. I guess and they're scrolling down the website. And it's like migos. Cardi B me. That's my picture and a Libyan. I lost our mind..

It's a true that you're gay. That was the first question asked like I was like, okay, cool. Like, that's that's how we're starting this. They will to play play the just. Just long, but you can play some of it. I just won't be able to hear it. So they know what we're responding to. All right. Let me find it. It just works. We worked with the same company. So you think they'd be on my side think that they'd be rooting for me. But now dog so and we talked about this. I think the other week there day when I was like, my one pet peeve is when people say that Sarah pays for everything. You know what I probably understand hit. We assumed by family pays for my shit.
