Queen Latifah stars in the new “Equalizer” series as Robyn McCall

"The new Reimagining of the series. This one this time starting Queen Latifah. She is the equalizer. She's a wait a minute when former equalizer is a guy Edward Woodward? Yeah, from the eighties, I thought it was there. I thought it was Denzel Washington. Well, that was a few years ago in the movie. Yeah, I remember the eighties Syriza Edward Woodward and he was kind of an older British British guy, right? Yeah, but he was always a bad ass. And I remember one episode in particular were Adam and showed up as a villain that checks out I can follow. I need to find that now I need to go and watch that. Yeah, So here, Queen Latifah plays a woman with the CIA background to quit the CIA. Now she's helping out the downtrodden Azan, independent agent. And she's working with people in the cast is pretty solid here. Chris knows Lorraine Tu sunt. Uh, Adam Goldberg. Nice to see him Working and Liesel appear a You would know if you saw her. She's been in a lot of comedies that this is a war of the straight drama Rolling. It looks looks good, so far from what I've seen of it. Well, if if Queen Latifah is the equalizer Adam and had better watch out and a man could still show up is a villain. Yeah, I don't I'm not ruling it out.

"Adam Goldberg junior Fifty-seven its conference championship weekend in the NFL. We got full rundown of both these games including picks for one of the best weekends in all of sport as Trey wingo. Made the distinction yesterday on Golic and wingo. Calling conference championships Sunday the best single day of the sports calendar year, and certainly up there in that regard. We'll tell you who and why on those games coming up just a little bit someone who's all star vote needs to be stripped. Spoiler alert. It might involve a look in the mirror and a couple of hall of fame. Hot takes that we got to get to. But first and foremost, I was blown away by something yesterday. I sit around here we go through work personal as we take you up till Golic and go we go through over there. And then I sit around the rest of the day. And I go about my business and hell, I'm a company, man. I enjoy hearing your gotten to know a lot of people around here. I enjoy getting to hear what some of my friends on other shows have to say on certain subjects smart people here. Szott people who understand a lot about sports. A lot of people with a ton of history and knowledge in their areas of expertise. In a way that I appreciate. And so there's also some things to happen later in the day that we quite frankly, don't get to react to as much. So I'm listening the other day and I hear DeMarcus cousins sitting down with Rachel Nichols. Another great sit down interview from Rachel. She's fantastic. And all these and the subject comes up with DeMarcus cousins on the warriors and the hatred from the outside world. Here's what DeMarcus cousins had to say when he was talking to Rachel the warriors..

"Welcome back to Business Rockstars now. Let's check in with Pat O'Brien. We are here to expire inform and connect the community of entrepreneurs welcomed the Business Rockstars, Pat. O'brien thanks for joining us. This is Adam Shaw, great sports app called Sportel and Adam Goldberg father's CEO of fresh brothers right in broad pizza into this is O roundtable, you're going to get everybody out there, your experiences and hopes for being a CEO what sort of corporate corporate culture. Do you have at your place? The most important thing is fresh brothers that we brought in as we started as a family business, and as we grow we keep giving that family feeling and attitude and kind of open door that you would have within the family business. But as we grow, of course, got to add, new employees. So we kind of try to take that along with us. Goes into the culture. That's right. How about you, Adam? So I think it's about for us. It's about community in about fostering, people to actually speak up and voice. Your opinions. One of the nice things about what we do is the product is the target market for the product is actually very young. So for the the less experienced young rap just letting people for the younger less experienced people. They actually have a lot to contribute because it's their media habits that we're actually trying to cater to when you start a company or the head of a company. How do you stay passionate in my case? Eat more pizza. I love it. It's it's a product that. Everyone's gotta eat every day, right and pizzas community food. So it's very involved with our communities involves lot children and families. So we're a lot of a lot of able to do a lot of different things with the pizza like fundraising and getting events going on sponsor feuds football fields in Roscoff field and so on. So the passion just keeps going, and that's really the fun of what we're doing is just the involvement that we can get within the areas that we still stores. So does that make it more difficult to satisfy your customers? Definitely. I mean you'd ask the question about. Staying passionate. We get a lot of feedback. And so, you know, when when people aren't happy, they let us know. So that's. A day and age where you get your feedback immediately. And so yeah. It's it raises the bar. I welcome the challenge because it allows you to continue to to grow into to set the bar higher. Biggest challenge making pizzas the dough. And making sure does consist of water. I'm a big believer..

"Hello, everybody. This is Jay bringing more scifi news for you. So again with being a low close to Halloween, I decide to bring another Halloween episode of a show that I like to this to this podcast to this episode. And this is a show that I don't know if you could necessarily say it Sifi, but I think it's fair because there's a lot of Saif elements in there. Right. So it's another show that oddly enough, I resisted it first. And this is the Sean a little behind them. This is a show. I resisted, I it's the goldbergs. I actually got to meet Adam Goldberg interview him Wendi mcclendon Kevin Smith was directed. A few episodes of this. And it's a show that basically takes place in the nineteen eighties. So there's of course, a huge amount of nine thousand nine hundred nostalgia this show there really is. They had an episode where weird Al came in. All you know, eighties weird out, which was really really cool. They've had some really cool. Eighties guest stars thrown in there. They really have. And it basically I think it has to it follows or it's loosely based on Adam Goldberg's life when he was a kid. He did a lot of home, movies and recordings of his family. And so it's kind of based on the show itself. Now mind, you he doesn't have a sister Erica, he has a brother Eric he told me that when he when I met him a few years ago at wonder con, and this is a show that yeah, I didn't want to watch it. I I tried to resist it. I again, I have a sister to like, this show's really awesome. It's really great. You'd love it. You have to check it out for whatever weird reason. Again, I was like I resist resist stivers hysteria fused watch this show. And I finally sat in Washington. Like, why did I resist to watch this show? This is a really cool show. This is a really awesome show. And so something this show has done for I want to say at least a few seasons. Now is they like to do like, you know, either like they'd like to Halloween episodes. They really enjoy doing. And they've done before some like shows based on movies at the time. They did wind on the cruddy. Kid. They did one on Batman. They've done a number of them over the years is when this show I think is on its fifth or sixth season right now blues on his fifth season. And this show got an order for least one more season after this one. So it's another really popular show. It's a show on ABC. And so I decided to talk about an episode that I think it was really cool in concept, and it brings Robert England to the mix and this show is called episode is called Mr. Nike Hans. So it's a Halloween episode at this point, you know, erica's off in college. I think she might have dropped at this point is I'm a little behind. But I think that came up on there. And you know, Adam is older. He's like a junior senior at this point. I want to say he's as I gaze around their junior senior. And we at at least on this episode outnumber in the past if we got to see Jackie's family, which Jackie is the girl that he. He is it's now she's very similar to him in, you know, nerdy interests and things like that last season. She was portrayed by Rohan Blanchard. And for some reason I noticed watching this again, I'm a little behind. She's not Jack anymore..

"Life. Yeah, Adams, hilarious on instant stories. I thought you'd have good chemistry. Thanks for listening to a strange stranger strange opinion piece out Abby. I think I've tried doing having Adam on the podcast. I think I did in Kosovo where I was busy lists, and I was calling trying to get Adam on the phone. And I think there was an issue or he had no reception. So we talked briefly for a few seconds. But yeah, Abby is talking Abby. Thanks for your Email by. Abby is talking about Adam Goldberg, who is a very good friend of mine. He, he's an actor. He works constantly. He's been in a million things you may know from saving private Ryan. You may know from dazed and confused. He was on the first season of Fargo. The TV show, which I love. He's an amazing actor is amazing person. He didn't move along time ago called the Hebrew hammer and. He like myself. There's a hypochondriac Dorada medically, fucked person. We bonded back in the days of. When vine first happened, remember vine. Six second videos. Adam was really popular on vine. I also got in early. It had many followers. We both had many followers. And we just followed each other on vine and social and then other social networking platforms. So he'd never met. And then someone did. A panel about social media and mainly vied, and so they had a lot of top vine people come in and it was myself Adam Goldberg Gillian Jacobs from community great actress, this artists Marlow Meakin 's. James are maniac. Their bunch of us. Came into talk about to peddle about vine which is very odd. And that's when I met Adam and we hit it off became really great friends. And but what really got us become friends was we bonded over the fact that we both suffer from vertigo ADEMA. So as severe vertigo. If you go, if you can go online and find an old episode of my podcasts, you h h h Steve AG. Which is probably still archived on itunes. Look for the Adam did to like two or three episodes of that. And one of he talks about. Shooting. Saving private Ryan, having really bad vertigo. It's it's compelling. It's amazing, but he also suffers from many other melodies. So out of an is another friend of ours lives. We have a text chain going. It's been going for months where whenever one of us is having medical issues we text, it's just constantly three people texting about. I'm dizzy. I'm sick. I just had diarrhea. I might throw up like just all the time. Which I love. But yeah, I would love to get out of. At the very least to do to do a. Episodes of this podcast. With me, you guys would love him. He's amazing guest, and. But he was my Urgel. I was like, I wanna do this podcast. I think it'd be great if Adam did it with me. When I went into pits. The podcast there like it should be a woman which I reluctantly caved to, and it ended up, I think, being working out amazing. I mean, look at all the listeners we have and how successful this podcast is largely apart due to the fact that busy had a female perspective, but now that we're established, I mean, I can have out him committed. We can have female hosts and. Yeah, we'll see where that goes, but I definitely have been meaning to get him in here. It's hard sometimes because he works a lot. He's got a lot. He's also a father now and his wife have wonderful child bud, I love this kid is named bud Goldberg. It's awesome. So we'll we'll make that happen and we are at an hour of help. This was okay for you. I hope this was good enough. For you guys again. Keep the emails coming of. I love them and they helped me stretch out an episode when I have to do by myself. Like I said, if you've already said something in that you think would be great. And a lot of time has gone by, especially if you sent it last year or earlier this year, chances are I won't be reading those because I've gone through them. Now I went through a lot of today was like, I don't remember if I've read this on the podcast and I'm not going to go back and relisted. I don't have time. So I don't remember if I. Read them on the podcasts or of they just look familiar because I read all the emails, so just copying resend it or for it..

"We want in this little hike and I just I, there's that moment where you have you don't see your folks enough like where I see him trying to get up this hill, which isn't even really a hill and then, oh no, it's happening. He's he's fucking eighty. I think it's, I think it's really interesting how human beings we can't live because we all experience it and we can't live. Live in that reality for too long like we have to like get out and. Right, 'cause we can't live in the reality. I mean, Adam Goldberg kind of who I love lives in that sincerity of that the mortality, yes, I think so. Most of us can't know. We shouldn't my dad's more like Adam which is drag because he he's, he doesn't do enough and doesn't get out much, doesn't like enough things and he just sits. And he just thinks about staying alive even though he's not having a very good time. But yeah, it's it's, he's miserable, but he wants it to keep going. Yeah. I mean, I think it's fun to live in this denial. I mean, I think that like you'll see, you know someone in the news that's passed away and typically most people have the reaction think that's never going to happen to me or your. Yeah, no, it's horrible but, but yeah, but no, but also like you know, you've surrounded yourself, you have all these wonderful kids and then you know you're in a situation like this. I imagine when you're really dealing with what life is in both realms coming and going and tragedy, and and you know, and hope and everything. But you see them growing like you've got, you've got a whole world. Of life around you. And this was one of those things where it's sort of like, well, this was a scary reminder. Let's go back to eating and Disneyland, right? Or let's go and seize the moment. Enjoy ourselves right now. Like traveling, see things you do. I'm trying to do that. Good. So what tell me about the sort of the special in that, like I notice it's not Netflix and that rare yet Israel. Right. What did they they? Did you decide they like, how can you give that guy a billion dollars and I'm getting, you know, a nickel, was that kind of thing? No, you know, it's it's. I do have a some specials on there. Yeah, and I was presented a different options from the the usual suspects that make offers. Yeah, and one of them was Netflix. One of them was Showtime, and one of them was all these different things. We're all all comedians. We're all waiting for Wednesday, Amazon, Apple going to get into this and it was waiting for that. I think there I think they should get. Into it and you want to get actual pre Amazon's already into production. I don't think apple is to take to to have an additional outlet for special because, but anyway, so I was approached by, you know, Brian folk wise, you know these guys and he's like, I'm doing this motto where it's it's going to be available everywhere on the same day, you know, not like a special and then maybe we can really sit an home six months later, all on the same day, it'll be on demand. It'll be on. I tunes that'll be an Amazon like, all right. You know, I mean, granted he made a good offer to, yeah, but it was. It's interesting to release a special, and you know this having a Netflix special cause. You know when it's available to everyone, it's not confined to just the people that have net flicks. So there's a lot of people that are consuming it like, I don't mean when it's not on Netflix when it's not on, right. It's like saying to see people like apple, you can go to. I tunes, yeah, go to see all these images because on Instagram, people are sending me all these images of how they're consuming it, and some people are in a feeder. Some people are in. You know. It was in a couple of theaters. Oh, so not like it wasn't in theaters as like we're gonna make all this money in theater. I figure it was kind of like everywhere you rent or buy. Right, watch things. Right. So that was an experiment..

"It should probably be higher if we're really just ranking in terms of chief the first forty five minutes of this movie are probably the most virtuous dick is probably the most virtuous dick large scale selection of anyone filmmakers ever enter ever done like i don't think i can think of as long of a section of a movie the opening of two thousand and one opening of there will be blood i'm sure that i'm forgetting things but just something where you're basically you realize forty minutes and you haven't taken a breath you mean the the entire stormy inches where to where he gets in his hands shaking when he opens his canteen at the end of the at the of the day landing we don't even learn what the movie is about now we it's it's just pure carnage now and i think that that film is two films i think it's the it's the landing and then there's the sort of nine thousand say hackneyed but it's it's it's a little like greatest generation porn in the second half although i think that there's really good stuff but ptsd and there's really i mean his sense of place is impeccable but there's a lot of like ed burns chewing and scenery you know a lot of in diesels chewing siri what what an interesting cast that movie had fascinating adam goldberg and matt damon yeah obviously as hero ted danson gm monte is a very good tom hanks performance a very underrated tom hanks performance but yeah that's number seven on my list only because i think the back half is a little baggy and it.
