"Morning. Ashley wasn't kidding. I am glad to be back. I really, really love this church. It's evident every time we go away, and I absolutely love preaching and teaching the Word of God. I get a little jealous when I'm away, to be honest with you, when I see someone else standing behind my pulpit. Just truthfully, I'm jealous over this. I love doing this. It's the greatest privilege in the world. Well, if you're just visiting us, we go through books of the Bible, and we're going through one of the, as if they can be ranked, right? But John has done some incredible work down through history. This book has been used to convert souls, the most unlikely of souls. And so whenever we have taken a little bit of a break, I've been gone for two weeks, and so some of you may have no idea. Some of you can't remember what you did last night, let alone two weeks ago, right? So whenever I'm away for a little while, I like to do a two -minute review of the purpose of the book so that you know why this book was written. In case some of you are here and are not familiar with the Bible and how it works, it's a library. As a matter of fact, biblio means library, and so there are 66 of these books, and each one of them has a different purpose. And the Gospel of John has its own unique, distinct purpose, and here's the job of every interpreter. Every interpreter's job is not to find clever ways to make it mean something that's relevant for their culture. That's not the job of an interpreter. The job of an interpreter is simple. Get in the head of the original author to the original audience. I have to try to find out what John meant. Who cares what we think it means, right? Give me an amen. We want to know what John says it means, and we want to know what John says it means to the first readers. We're not the first readers. This was written to a unique people group a long time ago in the Middle East. And so let's start up again by reframing our mind according to what the author says he wrote this for. At the very, very end of the book, it's 21 chapters long, and at the very, very end of the book, he tells us flat out why he wrote the book. Here's what he says. He says, Jesus performed many other signs, miraculous signs that is, in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book. In other words, you're going to have to go somewhere else for those. These, the contents of this book, these have been written so that, here comes the author's purpose statement, so that you may, say the word, be. So that's purpose number one, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. And there's a second purpose, that believing you may have life in his name. This, what you're reading, is a true, historical, eye -witness account of the life and ministry of a man who lived in the Middle East, who rose from the dead. That means, if someone raises from the dead and defeats something that you can't defeat, you should probably listen to what he has to say, don't you think? John says, I'm recording every word that man who rose from the dead had to say, so that you can, two things. One, believe, and two, live. Here's the point of the book. The point of the book is to help people believe an eye -witness account to the life of a man who died, and then three days later, got up and walked around. But it's not just so that you can say, okay, I believe. No more John. No. It's so that as you experience seasons of doubt in your life, you come back to John and say, oh yeah, this is why I should keep on believing. And when I'm struggling to believe, John will help to reaffirm your feet on solid ground, so that you go through your whole life saying, I believe. Tomorrow, I'm going to believe again. The next day, I'm going to believe again. John is for the person sitting here who's not a believer. And they know they're not a believer, and someone drug you here. You're here on purpose, and John is written for you. But John is also for the person who's been a believer for the last 66 years. And you know John, but maybe you're in a season of doubt. Maybe you're struggling because you just lost your spouse. John is a book for you. So, before we go any further and dive back into John, we are in, I started in April. That's about five months ago. We're in the fourth chapter of 21 chapters, and we're about halfway through the fourth chapter. And so, I'm sure that all of you remember exactly where we left off, but just in case there's one person who can't remember, let's repurpose our hearts. Let's go before God, every individual. I'm not going to do this for you. You're here as a worship service. That means there's a part for you. You're going to go before God right now, and you're going to say, Lord, I'm here to hear from you. And you spoke through John, and so speak to me through your servant John. Let's do it together. Father, I'm just a tool to act on behalf of the people who are here to meet with their God. As Craig said, you are a living God. No one else can claim that, but we can because Christ is alive. And so, we put our faith in you. I pray that you would help every person here to commit their heart and mind to not just listening to the word of God, but doing what it says. Lord, speak to us, for we are listening. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. Fourth chapter of John, it reads like a movie script. I read it again. It's like the 20th time that I've read it just this month. And this week as I was preparing, I read it, and I'm like, some chapters read like a movie script, and some are not like that. Fourth chapter of John, it literally is set up for a producer and director to just go and put this on film. And I couldn't help but this week as I was reading it, my mind went back to a show that I watched when I was growing up. It was the original Batman show with Burt Ward and Adam West from the 70s. How many of you know what show I'm talking about? Just curious. I had a feeling. I grew up on that show. My mom would put it on for me when I'd come home from school. And there was this thing that they did in the show where whenever they would transition to another part, the narrator would come on and say, meanwhile, back in Gotham City, or meanwhile in the Batcave, and then you'd see the transition. The screen would roll, and you'd hear the doodle -a -doodle -a -doo, remember? It's showing you what's happening at a different part at the same time. John 4 is written like that because the text we're going to start with opens up in a meanwhile in another part of town, and my mind just went back to the old Batman as I was raised on. Here's what you're going to learn. If you've been here for a while, then you know that we're in one of the most beautiful dialogues that really I've ever taken in history. It's between Jesus and a promiscuous Samaritan woman, and he is tender with her. Isn't he tender with her? We're going to get back to that dialogue next week, but the writer, the narrator of the story, interjects. He pauses the story, and he wants you to stop thinking about the woman and Jesus for just a moment because there's an absolutely important lesson that Jesus wants to teach his disciples, and it is a major, major pause. And so this morning, I invite you to turn in your Bibles to John 4. We're going to start in verse 31, and we're going to go down through 38. Not very much, but it's a meanwhile, so you can see the screen roll in your head, and here's what it says. John 4, 31 through 38.

"Adam West. Adam West is a good choice though. Underrated Batman. I think about that. The bat tuci. The pure west. But I would go, Joker was, man, that's tough. Jack. See Jack's my number. Yeah. I'm gonna go Jack. Number one guy. My number one. Guy. I'll go, Jack. I'll go Mark Hamill, and then Heath Ledger. Pop three. Jared Leto is a distant tenth. I honestly kind of forgot about him. And I don't mean that rudely. He was like, I just been like, I didn't even think about him. I wouldn't even consider him a Joker character. No. To me. No. He's barely a Joker character. I'm just gonna hurt you real. Bad. It's almost peewee Herman ish. I just didn't like him with the grill and all the tats. I'm like, ledger made it his own, but Leto tried to do the same. And I was like, oh, no. I mean, that might have been David ayer as well, but whoever followed heath ledger was going to have a hard time. Yeah. So we knew it was going to be a throw away. Duncan on him. He is a good actor. I've seen him in other things. Maybe not morbius. I think walking Phoenix following that up is like, that's the Joker we needed after Leto. I agree. We knew Leto was going to be a throwaway because he was the one that followed heath. I'll still watch Suicide Squad like director's cut if they ever drop it. No. The air released the Snyder cut. Release. If I'm really drunk, I might do that. If I'm too drunk to know what I'm watching. You'll do a four hour Snyder cut. Cut of suicide. Squad. Yeah, it's been another episode of cinema. God. Congrats with a guy that really has today. It has been. But we think you guys very much tune in next. We'll do a special breakdown and or. So for our Patreon customers. So thank you guys very much. "Setups for sequels and a universe within this movie. Almost definitely. I know the funny part is we talk about Robin and nightwing and all the different Robins. If you think about it, Bruce Wayne seeks out people that are scarred. Like all his people like Dick Grayson could consider his family murdered. And he seeks a month to be not just protect him as a person, but to manipulate him into being a partner in fighting crime. So he's Batman's kind of sick of the hat. I mean, if you think about it. He absolutely is. He dresses up and beats people up for a living instead of going to therapy and actually using his billions of dollars for philanthropic work. Like I think one of the best points of this movie is that the mayor's like, okay, but you have all this money, like your dad was going to do all this reform program. Your dad was going to do all this. And what are you just like, masking up in fighting crime? Like, I don't know. Yeah, but his dad also had a dark side because he was with fraca and he had he accidentally had the reporter killed. And that's where this all starts because that's why riddler's doing what he does. He actually wants to kill Bruce Wayne. Yes, and I thought that scene was so good that Arkham face off scene when he's like Bruce Wayne and he's like taunting him. And you can see like Batman starts to crumble. He's like, oh my God, he knows it's me. And then he's like, I can't believe we didn't get him, buddy. We're best Friends. We're the same, and he's like, you don't I just thought that was so cool because we can see how, if we put our idols on a pedestal, we don't see who they are. We see what we want to see. Oh, a 100%. And I think in a way, Bruce Wayne wanted to be found out. Because when he's doing a thing and he goes, I think it's about me. And they're like, what are you talking about? And he's like, nothing. I think in a way he wants to be found out. I think he's like, it's a podcast. I want people to know what I'm doing. I want people to know that accept me. I think the whole thing with him is acceptance. I think he's not accepted. And he didn't like the people of the crowds and everything. They don't accept them. They are actually afraid to have it first. They skid to death The Batman. In the subway, when he beats up the people and the guys like don't hurt me, you know, he's like, you know, in his mind, he's like, I just saved you, you know? But not until when he falls into the water and leads them out of the darkness, which was very corny. Like that. Okay, so I thought that was first of all, that film, okay, corny, whatever. We can call it what it was, but that shot was beautiful. It was actually mostly all filled with that flare as the only light. And I think it was good for his character development because we see him going from like I am just as I'm vengeance to I am the light and that okay, so this might be like, it's not like a stretch and it's not corny, but I just saw sonic two, so I'm gonna plug sonic two real quick because if you haven't seen it, it's amazing you need to watch it. It's so so good. But in sonic two, a quote that really resonate me and I thought about while I was rewatching the movie, it says, being a hero isn't about taking care of yourself. It's about taking responsibility for other people. And I think it's so funny that that quote applied so much to this movie and how Batman transformed himself and how he changed in that part because we see him only caring about himself beating up people like you use all these people as criminals of his father. That killed his parents. And then we see him taking responsibility and actually leading these people a safety and trying to help them air and like, I don't know, I thought it was really interesting. I thought it was corny, but it was more symbolic than that. Okay, so the list of Batman was from when I grew up, Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale. Good. Ben Affleck, no, and then Robin pats. And I think Robert Pattinson is a great one. I think he is a great actor. I think he showed us this in good time and antenna and in the lighthouse. And I think he really embodied this Bruce Wayne Batman. I was convinced of both when I watched it. Yeah, I liked it. I mean, as far as a lot of The Batman, I thought he did a good job. I mean, you know, a lot of times, people think about Michael Keaton. They're like, oh, Michael Keaton was a great Batman. But when this first came out, when Batman first I was there, people weren't thrilled about Michael Keaton being filmed as like Batman. People were like, oh my God, because he was a comedian. And they were like, how is he going to bring anything to Batman? And now he's one of the most iconic Batman that we have. I mean, compared to anybody else. I mean, Robin patson is probably the second best. I mean, Christian Bale, Christian Bale, I love you, but I think this guy did a good job. Exactly. And one thing I hate about having this movie come out and I don't know why it is, is that it's going to compared so heavily to the Nolan batmans. Whereas the Nolan batmans when they came out were able to stand on their own and not really get compared to other batmen. So I think it's an unfair metric because I think this one is better. I don't like gadget suave Playboy Batman. I don't think it's realistic and I think it's kind of corny. Yeah, this is very darker. I mean, it's more like if someone really were to snap and be a Batman, this kind of fit the scenario, not like the guys like a billionaire he buys. He brings in all these gadgets and multi-million dollar things that first of all, shipping and packing, they'd have to find a way to get that in there and the people would fall back to what's going on. But it was more like realistic where this guy was just a guy that has millions of dollars. He's messed up in the head and he has stuff, but he doesn't like overdo it. It's more of his knowledge than his ability to buy stuff. Exactly. And I think that's so different from the newer batmans like Christian Christian Bale and Ben Affleck, where there are these high-tech gadget cool Batman like training with Raza ghoul and being like these mega fighter almost like godlike creatures and it's like or like people and it's like, okay, but that's not Batman as a detective. He's a recluse. He is like Howard Hughes of Howard Hughes wanted to actually leave the house at some point. You know what I mean? And I thought that Robert Pattinson walked the line of being able to interact in public as Batman and then interacting in public as Bruce Wayne. And I don't know, I think that he hesitated in the scene with riddler in Arkham because he sees riddler in himself and he can see why the riddler relates to him. And then but then also for the first time he was also related to Selena for probably the first time in his life someone who's his age, you know? Yeah, and like the whole relationship with Selena kind of was like really quick. It was like, you know, I met you. Things are going bad. Kiss me. I mean, I was kind of like, because in the books, it takes a while for Batman and Selena to get together. They don't just fall in love. Like a lot of stuff goes on between those two. And it's more like foreplay. You know, and then they stop falling in love. And then this was this right away, you know, I love you. I love you too. And I was like, no, no. You gotta give them time. Build it up. And I think they will. And I think their romance was kind of like a throwaway just to show that this was probably Batman's first experience with a romantic relationship. So yeah, he doesn't know what to do. I'm convinced when I watch this movie that he's never talked to a lady outside of Selena or the mayor. Convinced, because you just only talk to Alfred and like his housekeeping, oh grind his housekeeper as a lady, but like those people I don't think he counts as people that he sees and can connect with, you know? So I thought it was really interesting. Andy Serkis plays Alfred, and that's claw from the Black Panther movies. So I thought that was really interesting. And he also, he does the golem. And this is not the first time Andy Serkis and Matt Reeves had collabed because he was also in war for Planet of the Apes and the other planet they rise of Planet of the Apes, rise for war of planets. I don't know. They've worked together before though. I loved Andy Serkis and I thought this scene in the hospital between him and Robert Pattinson was great. I thought it really showed that Batman can care for people outside of himself and that is Alfred. He has a weak spot in its Alfred. And I loved to see it. Yeah, I like the stuff that they're doing with the new Batman. Like, they're coming up with all kinds of stuff about Batman. And it's good because I'm a marvel person. It's the shirt says novel if you didn't see it. It's marvel. I love Marvel Comics. That's what I grew up on. But on D.C. side, I love Batman. I thought Batman was great in the Teen Titans. So to be Batman, it's an iconic role. People always knock D.C., but to be Batman is iconic. Like Adam West, the Michael Keaton. I mean, people look to that for like, you know, you've got to be a real good Batman. I thought this guy did a good job. Absolutely. And going back to how iconic, the character of Batman is, I think when you're growing up and you hear of superheroes, the first ones you think of are D.C. ones. They're Superman and Batman. Granted, I think now marvel is having this bigger resurgence. I think it's just because they have a better marketing and writing team behind them that can actually plan out all these movies. They don't have failings within their actors or if they do they cover it up and get them out quick. That's a Disney money. But so I think that I think that Robert Pattinson coming from getting famous from a movie like Twilight and then becoming Batman in this. Era is amazing because I think he does such a great job. And I'm a big fan I mean, I.

"Regret the biggest regret. I have the thing that I least proud of that I've done in my life. I wouldn't. I would not change exactly because I have altered my behaviour because of it. Uh, And you wouldn't be where you are now. And I I I think I've learned lessons from it. I realized the error of my way. And I'm I've become. I think a better person because I did something that I wasn't proud. Think so. It makes sense. Yeah, okay. And someone in the chat room sums it up if you like where you are, Don't waste time with regret because that's how you got here. Richie says My biggest regret is that I didn't go to training table one last time for cheese fries. Yeah. I need to give you guys a gift for doing this. This one. This one was promised to you already. It was from San Diego. Oh, And there was one exclusive. But you said you'd want. Oh, and if I got it, then I don't remember. Which one. Well, I'll show it to you. Hang on. I'm kind of jealous actually, because you know the Comic con. They do? Uh oh, my God. What is it? Oh, it is God, What is it? It's Adam West. Well, utility belt from Batam with? Well, not his actual. It's a replica of the West is actually in there of of Batman from the classic Batman show. You have been on a classic Batman kids. Absolutely. I've fallen back in love with it. You know that the part of it is we went and saw, uh, The panel. Yeah, which was fantastic, But you know, the rereleasing the original TV show the the whole series on Blue Hole. Yeah, it's gonna be a monster of a set and I've been every penny. They've been showing reruns on FC. And for the longest time I You know, push this Batman away. Yeah. I mean, I loved him as a kid. Sure, but I didn't know they were joking. Yeah, I didn't know that. It was supposed to be a comedy. I was I was a kid and I was caught up in it. You know, I Shannon Barson also didn't know exactly. It was almost most little kids didn't And then I found out and I got angry and and then and then I went. Oh, they're not being true to the bat. You know, he's a dark, brooding figure. Well, he wasn't until about the seventies or so. And then we watched that they said the little clips and stuff When we were in that panel, I was just like I can't wait to watch this. Yeah, And then my my, my nephew was over, and he's just like nine or 10, you know? Same age, and I showed him a couple of episodes of classic Batman. And he was in thrall. Told he was too like that on TV. He was just, you know, had his hands under his chin and watching. And afterwards I said you like this Batman, he goes, Yeah. Now think about all the Batman that he's seen. It's all been dark, brooding Batman. And here's fun. Batman. You know the reason it was so good was that each episode was so carefully crafted. Season. 1 34 episodes season 2 60 episodes. Remember it ran twice a week. That's right. Serious season 3 26. I always had a cliffhanger. He's into 60 episodes. Yeah, that's insane. Yeah, As you say, 11 of those seasons like the equivalent of like, six seasons. It's a game 101 120 episodes in three. Yeah, when it when it was broadcast. Originally it was. It was the one episode one night in the very next night because the end the cliffhanger of the first episode was same Bat time. Same Bat Channel Tune in tomorrow. To see If Batman gets out of this predicament. It's actually more than that, because season it was a mid season replacement show. The C The first season of 34 episodes began in January, Okay? So when that when that set comes out, we're going to. We're going to lose our carry Jackson. He's gone forever. He smokes. Look at that. Oh, that's beautiful Cook. He's only got two pouches on that a battering There's gotta battering. It's got a battering and I'll bet the bat shark repellent is in there somewhere. I remember that giant shield that folds up and goes in one of those little packets. Oh, yeah, it has been known to cleverly carry a skeleton key, which will open any Yeah. Smoke pellets and anti toxin pills. It even holds a dehydrated bat suit for when crime cannot wait for a trip to the bat Cave dehydrated. It's very cool. But if you go to my Facebook page, there is the picture of me in the Batmobile. Nice. Well, I just want to. You know, Sue, you're welcome that you'll get to see your husband run around in a utility belt Shirtless, you know, like I'm just a magic. "Me, but I'm getting a little tired of batch, creating havoc on humankind and animals. Perhaps I did think that when I saw this headline, Yes, she was like What the heck is it with bads? They just hate us. Is it just time for these little mammals to go? I know the mosquitoes and they protect us from other well, Batman is cool Bats sketchy. This Batman eat gnats and flies and mosquitoes. I don't know. Bruce Wayne doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who's eating bugs hanging on Batman. Did you ever notice and that's always bugged me for those of you who are bug Big? Yeah, that was proceed. Really, really not intended. Um, who's Who's the guy that played the best Batman? Uh, that everybody loves. Uh, the most recent one It certainly wasn't Ben Affleck. No, no, no, no. Uh, the one I can't think of his name. All of a sudden, he he was in the Ford. Um Ford versus Ferrari. Uh oh, yeah. Come on Bail. Okay. Christian Bale. Yeah, I think he's He was probably the top and then, um, Michael Keaton and then Adam West. Michael Keaton was the best because he made it funny, and that's how bad man was always was for me. I didn't know as a kid that Batman was really a dark. Character when he first came about through what was at D. C comics, But because of the show Batman that was on during the sixties, where was the out of West? One was Some sort of weird, quasi comedy that it's that translates. Well, that's one of the few 60 shows that translates You think so? I do what I would look. If it was on right now. I would watch it. Burgess. MEREDITH, this penguin is this penguin was awesome. But okay, so back to Christian Bale, and you're leaving out. Cesar Romero is joker. Okay? That's great. It's exactly raid. Okay, Alright, proceed. So Bale kind of bothered me. He was the best Batman. He had all the the dark things that you're supposed to have his Batman and and all that. But He always was in this voice character. There was nothing like Bruce Wayne, and they all did this, but he always talk like this, even when he's there, heavily bleeding or getting beaten up by the Joker. Easily. Yeah, that's right. I'm going to talk like this. And it's like no dude, you would be exasperated you Your fitness is not at a level where You can just talk like, Yeah, your attempt to a character. Why are you trying to apply realism to Batman? Because, Because that's what that's what he did he was supposed to be. This is how Batman would be if he was real. Do you see what I'm saying? I don't know. It's one of those nerd things that people get into. I could call the things in the world and that's what bothers you. No, no, Of course not. We talked about a number of things that about that It bothered me this morning. And you as well. We have questions. Still Joshua Jaynes situation All right now. So l m p d. We had a A a cop car, have a bullet sent towards it from Intuit and into it. Because somebody was shooting out of a car at another group of people in front of them in front of the LAPD Cruisers. Yes, Cruiser. Alright, unmarked. Now how many people were detained? Do we know? Um, on that people are being question We don't know. Uh, like, why were you being shot at And why were you shooting back? I got to go back and look here and see how many people are actually detained. Just the report. We have says several people are being questioned. So that is obviously different than being detained because of your question being questioned. Okay, my question to you. In theory, you just get up and leave. Okay? Where are Shively police on this? I mean, do they have to work out some some kind of somehow? I mean, I'm sure they will assist on it. But this was L m p D's criminal interdiction unit. Was there working a separate case which obviously shave Li l m p d. They're two different jurisdictions, which means and not knowing what the original case was. L M. P. D s See, I'd criminal interdiction right there. See, I you, I guess. Criminal addiction unit. Uh, Had some Intel of some sort that somebody or some bodies. That they were looking for. We're in the Shively area. Touch you or they were just passing through whatever the case may be, But what that's in the broad scheme of things that's irrelevant now because They're the shooting was in Shively. So It's I'm sure that Shively will contribute to the investigation just solely because it was Basically in downtown Shively. Okay, But it's an L M p D case because LAPD officers car was shot at. Yeah. I mean, you know, not not a good idea and who in their right mind would Mhm. If you're going to be that kind of person that's going to shoot people. Uh, you know when cops are around, why would is the brazenness of all this is just nuts? Well, it's that it was an unmarked L A P D. It was one of the they're not necessarily undercover, but just it was an unmarked because the criminal interdiction unit there You know they're cruising around. They don't want to draw a whole lot of attention to themselves because they're looking for people. But I think the bigger issue is is that at You know, some random point In the middle of the day on a busy street in a metropolitan area, a couple of groups of individuals decided the best course of action to resolve their conflict was to get in a shootout. Not good, No, that that is. I mean, I think that that's the big I mean, grain and shooting at a and hitting a police car is a problem. But the fact that they were shooting at each other in the middle of the day in the middle of a busy neighborhood seems to me like it's equally as big problem. Yeah, and stupid. We'll get to a break. "City Citizen. Mhm. Alright got to be very careful. I'll explain this on the air. Because we don't want to get canceled. Batman is in the news today for an unusual reason. I guess there's an R rated animated series for Harley Quinn. As I'm sure any comic book enthusiasts out there probably knows Harley Quinn is the Joker's girlfriend. Are we talking movies are, uh, comic books animated animated series cartoon would be the best way to okay, so they haven't and I've not watched it. I didn't even know about this. It's an animated series for Harley Quinn. Its features Gore and, uh, comedic jokes, very dark humor. When you say cartoons, people think kids stuff. That's why a lot of people were confused by some of the animated shows that came out over the last 20 years. Because it wasn't kids stuff. Well since the Simpsons I guess family guys, South Park, but yeah, those things weren't kids stuff, but correct me if I'm wrong back in the day. Didn't Fred Flintstone smoke in south cigarettes on the show? Yes, he did. So that was really wasn't the Flintstones kind of the first. It was an animated sitcom that looked like a kid show. But it was really for adults. Well, A lot of those cartoons had multiple layers of intent, right Exactly, And so it's evolved right? It's evolved because of that, And perhaps the Simpsons did as well and so subtle about their layers anymore Now, alright, so D C comics claims That, according to this story in Variety magazine, it was an interview with one of the executive producers. They wanted to have a scene in the show. Where Batman How do I explain this? Does something did generous things with his mouth to Harley Quinn? Am I being Is that? Um, Should I stop right there? Is that too much? Is that French kissing? Uh, no, no French kissing, but not her mom. Like, Wait a second, like, okay, we'll just leave it like that. Okay? We're not going to say anything else here. So now the Internet, you know, I don't want to be too hyperbolic here. But many he wasn't going to use his battering and Go up the building. No, he wasn't going to do. That's go the opposite. He was going to go in the opposite direction. Not up in the opposite. Exactly. Billy had you've done it very classy, My man. Very classy. That's unusual. So now on Twitter yesterday, Batman was trending for the oddest reason It was comic book fans are upset because Batman should have done that. They claim they said that would have been the right thing for a hero to do. Would it to be very is not his girlfriend? It's the Joker's girlfriend. Well, okay. I think it was technically in the show was supposed to be with Catwoman if I'm not mistaken. No. I thought we were still talking Harley Quinn. It's Harley Quinn show, but but it features the Batman cast a man lives in Harley Quinn's world. I'm look, Dude, I am. Yeah, it's complicated. I'm very interested. Wow. Because of Kitty kitty. Well, yeah, because of the kitty kitty. Yes, exactly the recent news story that Batman is not allowed to. Mm It's like a lot of people to go back and Explorer old Batman folklore. They're going back to the gonna. What's he going to wear his face? Mask and cowl? Yes. Mm. As it turns out, back in the 19 sixties, Adam West and Frank Gore Shin. Do you know Frank Gore? Shit was the Riddler? Yes, exactly Frank portion were kicked out of a Hollywood orgy. Because they wasn't in the show. No, it was in real life because they wouldn't break character, according to one reporter online. I didn't know that that was true. I'm skeptical of the whole thing. But who knows? Then that's strange. Could you imagine you're some Hollywood guy in the sixties and your have your I don't know who would be performed? Probably Andy Warhol's at your party or somebody like Bob Dylan shows up and then Adam West shows up in the Batman costume, and he's just Batman. And he's doing the bad day and the Riddler's there with his little outfit on Riddle me this. I guess those girl will she be why she will be mine. Yes, exactly. Yes, Frank Gore Shin was the Riddler. Wasn't he and many guest appearances on Ed Sullivan and the Tonight show, But I don't think they ever discussed that. I mean, if they did, I don't remember. I don't think so. The times were different than Kenny. I can't believe you're discussing it now. So Kevin Smith, you're familiar with Kevin Smith, The Hollywood director who is very interested in comic books weighed in on this and said that there was also some push back to have a green ero sex scene. In one of the with the black Canary character. Most of us probably don't even know that you've gone off the deep end. Now. Nobody knows anything about any of that. What the point is D C comics have had a long history with both the actors and the characters in their storylines. Doing things DC comics didn't want them to do is the point. Yeah, exactly so the and you'll never look at the Batman again. Will you auditions on Monday called Back said Tuesday. Wednesday. You see how the heart was bastard Thursday..

"Do remember this. It's really stupid. Alright? Didn't wasn't there somebody on the show that did something racist a long time ago, And then he said, Well, that shouldn't matter anymore or something like that, so he didn't actually do the racist thing. But he didn't criticize the person that did the racist thing for the for the racism. I think that was enough to have him removed. I think that's what it was. He was explained to me, then how it is that Hunter Biden isn't a news story today or Paula Deen for that matter. Well, Paula Deen did she use the actual inward back? What? 40 years ago when everybody was throwing it around, and then they cancel her. How many people have done something slightly racist or extremely racist and had their lives and careers ruined, But Hunter. Biden isn't a news story. They have him on tape is saying the N word multiple times. The Chris Harris and thing is actually even more ridiculous than what I do. Remember it being quite ridiculous. Do you remember what an antebellum party is? Yes, in antebellum party is an old South. It's something where people usually college kids get dressed up. Like they're in the antebellum South. The guys where Confederate uniforms the women dresses, Southern belles, and that in itself is racist. Usually it's a sorority or fraternity thing. Kappa Alpha, I think, does it right? One of the women on the show Rachel Kirk Connell. I couldn't sure couldn't tell you anything about Rachel. Yeah, attended an old South party. Which became part of the storyline on the show. In February of this year, fans discovered this became very angry that she attended an old South Party in 2018 is all it took. Now I'm going to give one just to the listeners in Houston real quick. If that's offensive. Why is Abby Cayman still on the city Council? We we who we have a raging left wing Houston City Council member. Named Abby Common Pretty blonde lady, Right? Okay. Okay. Abby came and attended old South parties. What? And when she was running for office. Some people from black lives matter found out about that what they did. The Houston Chronicle neglected to report on it because Abby Common was their friend. They neglect to report about Hunter Biden, now the mainstream media national news. Nothing about Hunter. No, don't worry about it. Yeah, And that's something. Imagine that the rules don't make any sense. Just test that, though, to see if that's true kidding. I want you to throw around the N word for the next 10 minutes or so. And we'll just see if anything happens. Okay? I'll do it right now. Mingeon Engine engine engine. Oh, is that not the word that you were talking about? I don't think it's the one like okay. I found the photo of Abby. There's Abby at an old South party. Oh, dear. Oh, boy. Look at all those white people do in southern white. Stuff, not a single black person at the whole party. You dozens of people there. Well, that's because you can't see the kitchen. Help. Uh, what's that? Okay, Okay. We We got to do the birthdays. And there's happy right there in a pretty yellow dress looks lovely in that night. Yeah. Must have been in the springtime Must have been here are celebrity birthday list includes Natalie. Portman. She's now 40. Do you remember the show about the killer? I forget. He's some kind of an assassin or something. When she was about 12, I guess that was her first big acting role. She was like, 12, year old and now 40. You remember her from four movies? Probably. Or Star wars? Of course. Okay. Yeah. Alright. Teddy Bruschi. I'm told he is a linebacker. I'm told that is a football player is a sport that people he was part of the New England Patriots sounds familiar. I've never been to New England, but he's 48. Never been old England. No, actually, Yes, I have. Johnny Depp is 58. Michael J. Fox's 60. Dick Vital the old college basketball announcer and quite the horn dog. When it comes to college cheerleaders, which we saw we met him. He's 82. Donald Duck is 87. That's why it's Donald Duck tape and Jackie Mason. The old school Jewish comedian is mighty years old. No longer with us. Jackie Wilson, the soul singing legend, um, bunch of good songs back in the day. This is sad. He had a heart attack during a concert. 1975 on stage heart attack. He went into a coma where he lived in that coma for nearly nine years, And then he died, And then he finished. The concert never came out of the home, And then he came back out on stage. It would be great if he was like, Hey, I didn't finish the set. No, that's the last thing he remembered. We'll give everybody a refund. I feel bad about that. Also, it's Les Paul's birthday. The guy with the guitar and they overdubbing of Locals. Yeah, kind of a cool kind of a cool thing that he did. Yeah, very impressive thing. Yeah, Very cool. And today on the state of history, Donald brought to you by Oh, That's right. You have a sponsor. Brought to you by Parfitt. Have a sponsor. Yeah. You have a sponsor to Mr Kenneth. You know, part Fab USA is saving the oil and gas industry here in America. The least you could do is show him some love. Since you live in this country. I always do. Do you not love America? Do you not love cold beer and rock and roll turns out now? A good portion of the country doesn't think you're American Flags on on your trucks is a good thing. It's not patriotic. It's threatening is what it is. We'll get to that. We'll talk about that in a little bit. Donald Duck made his debut this day in history 87 years ago. He didn't wear pants. He still doesn't wear pants. But when he gets out of the shower for some reason, he wraps a towel around himself. That's a good point. People don't get it. I never thought about that. You just blew my mind Secretary in 48 years ago. Today it was 1973 Triple Crown won the Belmont, which is the last of the Triple Crown and the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years. Some people forgot that happened to Richard Pryor. You knew Michael Jackson got his hair caught on fire, right? Wasn't an NFC committing a Pepsi commercial, right? Yeah, That's why I don't drink Pepsi. Is that why? Because it will make your hair light on fire and you raped kids, And then you don't drink Coke because, well, they accused you of being too white Be less white, they said today is the day that Adam West, the one true Batman and fell And lost his battle with leukemia. That's great i mean and this different wonder woman to really different wonder woman. Machetes bruce had the concept and alan had. The script was ernie wiggle room to play with her a little bit. Well they were amazing. Because the minute i got in there you know i of course being a comic book fan myself. I had preconceived notions of how it was supposed to be done. And you know. I got the script and thought i don't really understand this but i'm still gonna go in with my idea about how it should be done. And bruce said let go of that. We're going to. We're going to create something new this. It was totally fun. And freeing and wild so did andrea kinda help you along to find her a little bit. Did andre help me andrei. She was a gift from god. If you know without her i i couldn't done it and i mean she looks different. She acts different Shorts are amazing. What they did the no shorts icu. She's looking it's definitely. Yeah and she's kicking a little more ass. I like unapologetically. It's really cool. I mean what what. What was that part of the attraction to project. Well you know i. I don't know any young girl that doesn't want to be wonder woman so the attractions the project was you want me to wonder i wouldn't like i would have taken. I would've taken it whether it was in an alternate universe or not but to actually get the opportunity to sort of do a take on one woman. That's never been done was rad. Great so. I can't wait definitely pick out jail. A gods and monsters definitely gotta get it in blu ray. If you can justin cavender of peak legacy spoken robot. Chicken's kevin schick and tom. Did you know nothing like that. Oh it's nothing but warm cuddly friendly says it right there in the title. Yeah it. it's a romance and everything that goes along with the good the bad the ugly we touched a vodka. I like it. So superman gonna tell batman. Hey look it's been like thirty years. It's time to get over your parents death or anything like that. You might see some of that. You know I think what makes this special different other than the bromance. And the fact that maybe their their arguments go beyond this universe maybe into parallel universes and they can involve other types of characters who have a say in their relationship so we kind of kind of blew the doors off this and went to parts of the universe. We didn't even expect to go to before great so when you talk about parallel universes than you can now. Just open up the doors for everything. It doesn't matter. None of it has to make sense. It can all be fun when we're writing it's true it's true but it also enables us to rope in different versions of different characters air. Go we were so fortunate enough to get adam west and burt ward to come in and do voices for us. Oh you'll see maybe some other batmans that we haven't seen the switch one gal say already in the press release that i can touch about but But yeah it's just going to be a lotta fun. I keep saying. And because it it you it doesn't have the boundaries that other shows do and I mean you don't know what the final product is gonna look like until you see it. I mean you get to go in and kind of mentor them. A little bit and kind of guide them but essentially until you see the final reveal. It's all new to you. And and as an audience we like to kinda handicap. The different people in who are favorites are who we think is going to be the front runner and That's part of the fun of it too. Yeah yeah it is I couldn't be more and speaking klingons. You had michael dorn on the On on the show and I mean he's not a makeup artist but he's been under the make up a few times the kind of not a good makeup looks like so what was it like and i'm sure he was relieved. It in etiquette right up on the show i've been wouldn't have minded probably was I know nothing michael during nothing of his personality. So you don't know what's expect when you meet a celebrity He was such an interesting sweet grape. Judge as well because he brings to judging perspective. That glenn the and i have but not to the degree that michael did and that is every day same makeup that he has to perform in hand glenn's worn makeup. I think the may have make up. I'm talking about like brevard prosthetic. yeah. I've also been under a lot of rubber as well. So it really. I think it's an important thing to have a respecting appreciation for pinko true. Because it's it's it's not as easy as it seems actually to wear rubber and perform and being an all day it was. It was great sitting next to michael and have chance to just talk to him by his experience as a character Any other thing too or is just the best thing before mr west smart the very idea that i was sitting next to michael jordan.

"But do you think of patents patent as the new Batman? I saw this. I'm kind of down for it. What is that these economics, right? Yeah. Not your thing. I mean I, I like your right. Not my favorite, Robert Patterson. Who is in these twilight movies. Yes. Apparently, he's going to be the one that's going to be taking over from that. What's his name? Well, Ben Affleck in Africa. Yeah. Ben Affleck was the what happened someone went to bed African said, you just don't want to do this. They wanted a younger guy, I think. No, I think that that's part of it. He they wanted a younger guy and also he just wasn't working for them. You know it wasn't really been afflicted. He did it in two movies. The Justice league. It didn't work the first or second time you're out. They, they wanted to go younger than don't want. See you. Yeah. It really who wants that guy. Anyway. Then Aflac I mean he's a good actor to just, you know, sometimes you don't fit the role, right? And the thing is, if you don't fit the role, then you shouldn't get a second second shot at it didn't work. So then you're out. Let's see who do I like is the best Batman. Michael. Keaton was good. Christian bale was good. My favorite was, obviously, it wasn't the, the movie Batman, but the TV show, Adam. Adam west. Absolutely. I if I had to pick a live action when it's probably Michael Keaton for me. He's, he's my favorite. I like Batman and Batman because he was it wasn't. It wasn't the movie Batman. It wasn't a serious. It was very, very campy, if you watch the TV series Batman from the sixties, it was one of those shows that was made for a kids, but made for Delta's. Well, there were tongue in cheek secret double-entendres there were there were like a jokes or inside things that only would appeal to adults that would go over the kids heads. And let's face it. Adam west was actually pretty funny, even though he didn't mean to be the way he would deliver his lines. He was hilarious. So I don't think they try to capture that in the in the movies and the film. But and there were different directors to who is the Batman that had with a cod piece. So. What was that Clooney's? So it was the first Batman in terms of movies, anyway, was timber, and did two movies with Michael Keaton. Right. And then after that, I think there was a third movie that was with Val Kilmer, instead of Michael Keaton doing, like seven or eight Batman. Yes. And then after that George Clooney. I think two of them, Robin. Batman forever. And neither one of those is very good. Those are the ones that hit the nipples on the bat suit. That's Joel Schumacher. Batman. Yeah. They he succeeded. Was -cluded the gay Batman. Yeah, I think he definitely Clooney's come out and said he played him as a gay character. That's what he was written like to him. Schumacher. That's why that's why. And then and then I mentioned Christian bale. So Robert Pattinson. All right. Well, maybe I guess he'll do good. Yes. Seems like he's been he hasn't done a lot of big movies ever since the twilight one. So most people know him for that, but he's done a lot of good art house movies. Like smaller releases the not a lot of people get to see. And he's, he's a great actor, but he the brooding Batman, another Bruening Batman. So they got the dark
