Julie Kelly: Ray Epps Should've Have Faced Multiple Charges, Felonies
"It is highly unusual Dan and as soon as that information so an information is the misdemeanor version of an indictment that's a criminal indictment that has felonies this has a single misdemeanor count Went back quickly to the DOJ's January 6 website. I pulled up as many Could with a single count Dan roughly 15 out of more than a thousand now Now cases really 1 ,100 defendants only about 15 have a single misdemeanor charge It is a single count of When you dig even further this is so highly Unusual that ray Epps was not apparently not arrested that this information was filed against And he's already pleading guilty today. I I can find no comparison in the Almost three -year criminal investigation into January 6 where this ray Epps matter has A comparison there just simply isn't one. So we don't there's no there's no statement of facts. There's no affidavit which is contained in nearly every single case, so we don't even have The details about what DOJ Matthew Graves's office is basing this single misdemeanor count on But they didn't stop the corporate media Adam Kinzinger and others from jumping again to ray This is a defense when we have like I said all this video evidence look Dan he should be if we We were applying the law equally. He should have been charged with multiple offenses including felony Obstruction of an official proceeding which has been slapped against more than 300 January Sixers And Trump President he was at the first breach point the second breach point. He was in a restricted area For for over an hour and a half. He was interfering with law enforcement.

Julie Kelly: Making Sense of the J6 Case Against Ray Epps
"To check it out, but only if you want honest journalism you want She's not your gal so Julie you know a lot about this case, and I I'm I kind I of mean that me I know I was being sarcastic in that open, but you know every and every bit of sarcasm is a little element The truth of that makes it. I think a little humorous is I don't know where we are, but Ray apps I mean we were told again that January 6 was the Pearl Harbor of our time We've got a guy you know literally not figuratively on tape talking about we Need to go into the Capitol conservatives like you and I start asking questions like hey You know it wasn't a good idea to Disguised incentivize him to do it and all of a sudden ray apps is a hero in the media, but can you Make any sense to you um it does not but to answer your According to the corporate media and people like Adam Kinzinger who to your point everyone involved Even remotely involved even people who weren't there like Henry gay Tario the ex Of -leader the Proud Boys everyone is an insurrectionist a domestic terrorist. They should be thrown in jail, But the key you know tossed for good except for ray apps, so If you listen to how they portray ray apps he is the victim of right -wing Theorists including us and Tucker Carlson that he just wandered there. He was To trying help police he wasn't instigating anything except and we have all the video evidence to the contrary. You know it was fascinating there's a hearing going on right now House Judiciary Committee and General Merrick Garland is there one of the Democrats is playing this video montage of January 6 and pops who up at the very first exterior breach point ray apps, but we're supposed to believe That he's only guilty

Darren Beattie Unpacks 60 Minutes' Revolver Hit Piece
"Darren phillipson on 60 minutes is coverage of revolver news. Well, it's amazing. I mean, the full story will get it. We don't have time for the full story, the short version is 60 minutes did a segment on ray apps. It kind of bizarre that they decide to do this sympathetic piece on Rey eps. They've joined The New York Times Adam kinzinger and others in the sense that ray Epstein is the only January 6th participant that they display any sympathy to and they go out of their way to make an entire segment on apps. But the segment which I watched last night was really remarkable because the running theme was basically attacking so called conspiracy sites that dared to question the official narrative with apps. They mentioned revolver news like 6 times. They show me on Tucker Carlson there. And yet they interview apps and they don't interview me. And one of their producers that I won't even bother naming because he's just kind of a bagged carrier. He just kind of happy to be there and he's not making the decision. So I don't want to bring him too much heat. You know, he's too busy carrying bags anyway. But the bad carrier thought, okay, I'm going to set up an interview, Darren, would you be willing to do an interview? And I said, look, I know this is going to be a scam job. You have so many tools at your disposal. We've seen how they treat other people on the right. And they've got a lot of stuff. They can splice and dice. They've got B roll, they can add context. It's all pre recorded. They can do whatever they want. And if you make an especially effective point, they could just take it out of the segment. That's right. They have so many advantages. And yet, even with all of those advantages, they decided at the last minute that it would be too dangerous to interview me and give me an opportunity to defend my reporting, which was the underlying theme of their entire segment.

Donald Trump Praises Tucker Carlson's Reporting on Jan. 6
"You think it's a coincidence that the two Republicans who were front and center in all of this are now ex congressman, Liz Cheney is off teaching at the University of Virginia, oh my gosh, can you imagine your kid coming home saying my professor is Liz Cheney? Adam kinzinger quit put his tail between his legs and resigned, those are the two Republican torch bearers of the January 6th select committee. Do you realize how big a scandal this is? Do you recognize it? Trump has reacted on his truth social site to Tucker Carlson's reveal last night after playing these videos, Trump tweeted or posted on true social. Congratulations to Tucker Carlson on one of the biggest scoops as a reporter in U.S. history, the new surveillance footage of the January 6th events sheds an entirely different light on what actually happened. The unselect committee, he says, was a giant scam and has now unequivocally been stamped as criminal fabricators of this most important day. Pelosi and McConnell failed on security, the police story is sad and difficult to watch. Trump and most others are totally innocent, let them go free now.

Charlie Shares His Condolences for Damar Hamlin
"A second we'll have doctor Robert Malone on the program to help unpack the tragic situation that unfolded that I happen to see live on Monday Night Football last evening of a football game that turned into a life or death situation. And so let me just read the tweet. It's been viewed over 10 million times. I was ridiculed and attacked by everybody from Adam kinzinger on down and here's the tweet. This is a tragic and all too familiar sight right now. Athletes dropping suddenly. That was my tweet. And people thought that I was being a conspiracy theorist. I was attacked. In fact, newsweek wrote an article that said, I am human garbage this morning. And that's, I guess, that's their opinion. I did not, I don't know what happened. All I know is I am thankful. Praise God that demar Hamlin looks to be in better condition and praise God that they were medics just feet away. And it is true. It is tragic and all too familiar. That athletes are dropping suddenly. And I suppose saying that and saying that there is a pattern that seems to be emerging across the planet, gets you to be attacked from every possible direction.

Dinesh Returns for 2023
"Well, guys, I'm back, and it's a new year. 2023, happy new year. Guess we're all going to have to start remembering its 2023 when we write the year down. And it's well, it's kind of a big day in a number of regards. Well, Nancy Pelosi's last day as speaker, today. Adam kinzinger is last day as congressman today. Liz Cheney's last day as congressman today. So by the way, this is all the debris also of the January 6th committee, these people are being swept out. The committee will now pass into the hands of the Republicans and it's going to be a whole new story. And I'm going to keep you updated on that. 2022 is a bizarre year. I mean, in some ways, well, a good year in some respects for us is movie makers are movie 2000 meals was a big success. And didn't produce the investigations that should have, but nevertheless woke up a lot of people opened a lot of eyes and I think showed that this issue is a legitimate one, and now of course it's being openly discussed on Twitter, so it's a big changes are underway. And I think this is going to be 2023 and important and a good year. And I'm very much well, I feel ten rested and combat ready for the new year.

The Republican Party used to believe in a big tent, which welcomed the tired, the poor, the huddled masses, yearning to breathe free. Now, with shelter the ignorant, the racist who only stoke anger and hatred to those who are different than us. Pretty heavy duty. And he said a lot more than that. I know that you've been, you've been close to the congressman Rick and following the events of January 6th, he's been through a lot here, taking aim at his own party with some pretty harsh rhetoric on the floor. Will it matter in the end? I think he had an impact and I don't think we've heard the last of Adam kinzinger. Well, that's my question for you. I mean, this was a speech for the ages. It might have been the most important speech he ever gave. Will it will it be reflected upon when he's running for national office? Oh, I think that this speech will appear in a lot of different places to try and motivate and encourage people of like minded persuasion to get involved in politics in the future. He has a very strong pack operation that's trying to recruit people who actually take their oath of office seriously. It's been interesting to me Genie to watch Democrats warm up to Adam kinzinger. Will Democrats listen to Adam kinzinger now? He does make a really important point about what Democrats did in this election cycle by supporting these trumpian far right candidates in the hopes they would be easier to

"adam kinzinger" Discussed on Bloomberg Radio New York
"Funny. Others instructive, none got more attention this week than the farewell address by congressman Adam kinzinger, the Republican, of course, a member of the January 6th committee. And left on an island by his own party, because of his views on Donald Trump, on the 2020 election, on January 6th, of course, here's Adam kinzinger on the House floor. The Republican Party used to believe in a big tent, which welcomed the tired, the poor, the huddled masses, yearning to breathe free. Now, we shelter the ignorant, the racist who only stoke anger and hatred to those who are different than us. Pretty heavy duty. And he said a lot more than that as we reassemble the panel Rick Davis and Jeannie chansa no Bloomberg politics contributors. I know that you've been, you've been close to the congressman Rick and following the events of January 6th, he's been through a lot here, taking aim at his own party with some pretty harsh rhetoric on the floor. Will it matter in the end? Sure. Yeah, I think these things matter. I think the January 6th committee mattered it helped define what happened on January 6th against all the other lies and misdirection that was given by a lot of the Republican leadership in the house. I think his participation Liz Cheney's on that gave it credibility well beyond even what they expected. Both their conduct were exemplary and I think that we'll still be talking about the January 6th committee for quite some time. So I think he had an impact and I don't think we've heard the last of Adam kinzinger. And I would say one of the things that he talked about is the oath of office and the requirement to support and defend the constitution. And what's interesting to me is so many of the retiring members, both on the House and the Senate side and in both parties. Talked about their oath of office and how important that is. He took aim at Democrats as well Genie. Let's go back to the farewell address in congressman Adam kinzinger, listen. Many of you have asked me where are all the good Republicans? Over the past two years, democratic leadership had the opportunity to stand above the fray. Instead, they poured millions of dollars into the campaigns of maga Republicans. The same candidates, President Biden called a national security threat. To ensure these good Republicans did not make it out of their respective primaries. This is no longer politics as usual. This is not a game. If you keep stoking the fire, you can't point the fingers when our great experiment goes up in flames. It's been interesting to me Genie to watch Democrats warm up to Adam kinzinger to warm up to Liz Cheney almost as if we, you know, there was there was almost an embrace. Why don't you guys just become Democrats knowing that they actually disagree on basically every point of policy? Will Democrats listen to Adam kinzinger now? You know, if you go back 5 years, the idea that Democrats would be in bracing Liz Cheney to any extent is sort of absurd unfathomable. You can't even imagine it, and yet here we are. You know, I think they will listen to him. They will listen to her on these issues. And he does make a really important point about what Democrats did in this election cycle by supporting these trumpian far right candidates in the hopes they would be easier to be. And of course, they did they did pay off for Democrats and a place potentially like New Hampshire. So, you know, it's a win. So it's a hard case to make to them, but one of the challenges I have with his speech quite frankly is that it was very long on platitudes and very short and specifics, now he's got this country first organization that Rick mentioned. He's working there. But the reality is, is, you know, for him to accuse public officials of playing politics, is, you know, yes, and what? So what are you going to do about it? What are the specific reforms you want to introduce you think should be introduced because you can't just hope that politicians are not going to play politics because they are because that's how the system is designed. He had very limited things to say about systematic reform, and that was true of to me true burr and everybody else who spoke. And that is a troubling aspect of these farewell addresses this year. Fair point there, but I have to admit, Rick, if it's working, if this is working, Democrats and Republicans will do it again. This wasn't new in this election cycle. It might have been more pronounced, but the idea of Democrats propping up maga candidates knowing that they might be weaker in a general election

Who Does Adam Kinzinger Represent?
"Why would any reputable news platform still be bringing on Adam kinger Who exactly does Adam kinga represent Even his own family hates him We know this because he said his family hates and for good reason He couldn't get reelected to dog catcher which is why he chose not to run again And losers like king singer wear that like a badge of honor See me I stand out for the rest I have the courage to stand up I think Benedict Arnold used to say that as he was taking a boat to Britain if their stabbing thee the American colonists in the back although he's a very interesting story one day I'll explain it It's not all as it appears And that's a whole nother story Where the kings are it is And now his partner may I say dizzy Lizzy Cheney is running in the Republican primary and Wyoming She's encouraged as many American marxists as possible to flip over into the Republican Party to taint the Republican Party and to vote for her Because dizzy Lizzy has become a Democrat Make no mistake about it She's a Democrat

Three Takeaways From the June 14 Primary Elections
"So last night I'm going into my three takeaways from the show From the election excuse me last night My three big takeaways opening segment was about takeaway number one how to handle the Trump endorsement or or the lack thereof Again don't lose your mind Don't do an Adam kinzinger at least Cheney Adam kinzinger again attacking the capitol police has worked today and the guy's just disgusting I mean he's just a chump in a coward Kensinger Cheney just as bad just awful people Don't lose your mind Take the Nancy mace kem approach and say I wish I got the endorsement I didn't I support the Trump agenda was and maybe going forward and that's how you stay and stay in office It's really that simple Take away number two The most important one The earthquake last night sent through the Democrats long-term election strategery is hard to explain to you It's hard to explain in words how important this is You know I was saying earlier in the podcast how I remember in these anthropology evolutionary biology kind of courses right I used to take that I love There was this concept of punctuated equilibrium not to get too deep in the weeds because I don't remember the weeds that well myself I just remember being fascinated by this It's this idea that species evolve gradually and gradually over time and you can see it in a fossil record right As you dig and dig and dig And then all of a sudden boom Some crazy event happens whatever A volcano explodes a Krakatoa like event and asteroid or a comet hits earth And next thing you know you see this massive change in species It's like this Ellie from that movie deep impact and extinction level event And it changes everything The species changed the composition of life on earth changes Now little dramatic that example but I'm telling you what's happening right now with the Hispanic voters You got it With the Hispanic voters thank you What's happening with Hispanic voters across the country Is that level of Ellie for the Democrats and extinction level event

If You Disagree With the Status Quo, You Must Be an Agent of Putin
"Totalitarian hobbies of the American elites. I mean, they live very their lives are very vacant and devoid of purpose. So they kind of hop from one kind of political movement to the other. Try to scream at the top of their lungs as saying that if you do not agree with everything that we say, you're a terrible person and we want to imprison you. Do we have the Whoopi Goldberg clip from yesterday? We got to get that. It's just one example of many. But there is this kind of continual theme that if you disagree with the status quo as we've built out such as you don't believe in the competency of our leaders, you don't think success could be easily achieved. You also believe that this might destabilize the United States positions at the world reserve currency. All these very rational things that you're somehow an agent of Putin. And this is happening not just from left wing media, but even people on the right are saying this as well. I mean, you take one person, for example, Adam kinzinger, who's been wrong about every major foreign policy situation, since he got elected. Adam kinzinger says I refuse to validate the evil Tucker Carlson's propaganda program. This is all around this idea of whether or not there are bio labs in Ukraine and whether the United States is funding them, we're going to separate fact from fiction on that. Because for whatever reason, this is kind of the one of the most amazing gaslighting experiments I personally have ever lived through, where you could see so easily in front of you, what's actually happening. And they're like, no, no, no, no. That's not happening. Play cut 42. I got an invitation to do Tucker Carlson show tonight. And there's no way I'll go on a show for a number of reasons. But first, let me state that his insistence that the west was provoking war with Putin, his spreading lies about bio labs and has continued spewing of conspiracy theories are nothing but complete evil. His show is full of Russian propaganda and not news. And I will not validate his show by making an appearance. Validate his show by making an appearance. No, you're just scared he's actually going to ask you direct questions. So Adam kinzinger, we'd love

"To the Senate floor those violent rioters were at the end of the day I again I think about everybody who works in the capital and the trauma that they experienced that day And I hope that everyone is taking good care of themselves I know it was an undisclosed location as it's referred to in the capital where you were brought that day I just wonder wherever that was If you've gone back to that room since then I have been back to that room a variety of times for a variety of reasons And every once in a while I'll be walking through and I'll go oh wait a minute This is where we sat for hours and hours and hours I recall them bringing the big televisions in so that we could actually see what was happening It does feel like a different world however Senator Tina Smith Democrat from Minnesota I want to thank you for your time today Thanks for being with us on Bloomberg radio Thanks so much Joe We turned out to essential figure in the House investigation into the events of January 6th congressman Adam kinzinger Republican from Illinois Of course one of only two Republicans on the House select committee for which he's been deeply criticized by many members of his own party We should also note he is a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard congressman Thank you for joining us on what I'm sure is an incredibly busy day for you What did you think of the president's speech today It was stronger a stronger tone than we've heard from this president and it pointed squarely at the former president Was that the right move Look yes I think it should be very rare to do something like that The former president quite often did that always point in poking at prior presidents It should be rare but this is an ongoing crisis And I think the president for all the things I may agree or disagree with him on he's taken the right approach of still focusing on governance But I think that speech today was necessary I think the outrage was necessary I don't necessarily think it's going to convince anybody that's not already convinced but I think it's important to put a basic standard for democracy down And I think you showed the proper amount of rage in doing that You wrote an op-ed in USA Today in which you say we are in the fight of our lives You start the call on the top line writing America is more divided today than it was on January 6th 2021 Why is that I put it to a number There's a number of people I can fault There's I think everybody in their own mind bears some blame particularly if you deny truth I think leaders had an opportunity after January 6th to stand together and actually do what the title says to lead and say look this election wasn't stolen Look as Republicans we lost Let's focus on figuring out how to convince more people to vote for us And instead some buried their heads some went quiet Some continued to press conspiracy and lies and in that process if you're somebody that believes the truth you're going to be angry at the people pushing the conspiracies and the conspiracies daily get more down to our negative divisive and we're in a bad place and I got to tell you a year ago prior to January 6th I always set a faster question I am I am very long and optimistic on America I still am but in the short and medium term I think it could get worse Well okay so there you go I was going to ask you if we are more divided today than a year ago with that also not suggested it could or will happen again Has anything changed that would prevent another January 6th So no nothing's changed I guess to the extent that the insurrectionists learn what they did incorrectly and how they could correct that in 2024 for instance we have also learned what the weaknesses in are in the system that we could strengthen and change I think there's a bit of light which is yeah the Republican Party will always be a major party 60% sadly or 70% believe the election was stolen But 70% of Americans believe the election was legit I think that's a very important number Is the capital itself more secure though if there was another attack specifically on the complex Yes I think so There's work to do I do think it's more secure I mean even just clarifying things like rules of engagement And I think part of the problem with defending the capital was this kind of lack of imagination that's the opening line of even the 9 11 report which is never expected that this was going to happen Now we can expect now we can think about it that way But we shouldn't have to be I mean we will be but we shouldn't have to be in a position where we're increasing a security posture of the building that represents American freedom Would you support reforming the electoral count act as we were discussing with senator Smith Yes a 100% I think that's where a lot of energy should be focused on reforming the electoral count act Trying to find a compromise on the Voting Rights Act which is about pre clearance not in fact anything to do with January 6th But these are areas that I think we can find bipartisan grounds in agreement We've got to get out of our patterns that Republicans had for so.

"This is morning edition from NPR News. I'm Rachel Martin and I'm Sarah McCammon. It's been just over three weeks since the attack on the U. S Capitol a week since President Trump left office and some conservatives are struggling with what comes next. For the Republican Party. The use of violent rhetoric has grown more mainstream and right wing circles. From conservative websites and think tanks to congressman like Louie Gohmert and Madison Cawthorne. The rule would be that you got to go to the streets and be his violent is an Teepen be Elia, Please get on the phone. Call your congressman. And feel free. You can lightly threaten them and say, Say, you know what if you don't start supporting election integrity, I'm coming after you, Mattis. Gotham is coming after you. That kind of language is alarming for Christian Vander Brooke. He's a conservative. He worked in the George W. Bush administration. And he wrote in the bulwark about how some fringe thinkers have been emboldened by the trump years. Unfortunately, a Trump administration the last four years has really brought a lot of people who might have been kind of it the back of the room, the cranks of the conservative movement and really brought them into the forefront. He's been the gasoline. He's been the match. He has been the insider of all of this, and I think that for a lot of others in the movement They saw the crowds that he was attracting. They saw how powerful it was. And so they really faced a choice. Do we want to stay with the Republican Party and a conservative movement, or do we want to be on the outside? Some intellectuals? I can think of people like George will. Or Kevin Williamson, for instance, who decided that that was enough for them? They wanted nothing to do with it, but I think that power and influence is just far too tempting for even very well educated intellectuals. And I think one of the more troubling things is that we've come to learn that a lot of people really sincerely believe in some of the more authoritarian And even violent ideas that they've been putting out there. You write that the Republican Party is quote too compromised by extremists to be trusted with political power anytime soon. What does that mean for the party? I think that what it means is that there is some very difficult choices for people like me and others who called the Republican Party home for many years. We have to decide whether it's more important to be within the party trying to reform it or whether it's better to be on the outside, saying we need to deprive it of power and influence. And how are you thinking about that? I mean, what is your thought? Process? You know, I think that for me it's liberating to be outside of the party because I can say certain things, and I can be much more broad in some of my criticisms. But I also look at people within the party like a mitt Romney or an Adam Kinzinger who are trying to reform it, and I'm very much supporting them because I think that Within the party. They can have an influence that people outside the party don't have. For instance of Mitt Romney says that he's open to impeaching and convicting Donald Trump. It's difficult to say that he's doing the bidding of Chuck Schumer that he has some sort of left wing puppet. So if he were to leave the party, I think that we would lose a powerful voice for reforming it. But I think that when you look back and you say, is it easier to be a supporter of Mitt Romney? Or is it easier to be a supporter of Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Cuban on conspiracy theory? And I think that right now the unfortunate lesson is is that it's much easier to be a Republican and someone who courts and supports extremist these days. And I think that that should be very troubling to anyone who considers themselves conservative or, frankly, just all Americans. There are 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump, according to NPR's pulling, and others. Ah, large majority of them believe Trump's lie that he won the election that it was stolen. What does that mean for them, and for how the country moves forward? I think it's a very difficult road ahead to kind of de radicalize very large segments of the Republican base, and that's going to be a generational project. You know? Look, I think that we can look back to the wisdom of the founders in this where the founders recognized the dangers of political faction where you have a very large Minority that believes in authoritarianism. That's a scary thing for a political movement. The founders saw that the majority Republican principle is something that would be a cure for that. So I think that we just need to hold fast to our beliefs in representative democracy, and we have to have stand firm. I don't believe that simply because 74 million believes something that is objectively wrong that that's enough of a reason to Okay, we'll meet them halfway. You know, conservatism used to be about standing a thwart these very large movements. And if you believe that they go against our principles to yell, stop And I'm hoping more conservatives will will see the wisdom in that Christian Vander Brooke. Thanks so much. Thank you, Sarah.
