"You're listening to it as one thing to watch. It is another thing because he so expressive and he's so angry. And you're like I said you to set there and you just listened to the whole thing without reacting at all. So that was a great job. You know, when I first got the ESPN Adam John Walsh, told me go for the stars play the hits. And that's what I try to do. And he's post game interviews is bring the big stores to our audience. And I always look for on defense linebackers offense quarterbacks obviously, but linebackers have so much adrenaline coursing through their veins. That's why I mentioned Ray Lewis. And that's why that interview with Bart Scott a linebacker has so much adrenaline it so pumped up after a win like that. And make sure you get him on the field before they cool down. Locker room and let the emotions just hang out and get out of the way and stay out of the linebacker more a linebacker more so than a defensive lineman or defensive back. They don't have to. Yeah. The linebackers, you the one calling the signals knows what happened. And you know, obviously, you wanna pick a guy who's been running around has been, you know, blood Scott played every single snap in that get you. Yeah. And so I and and it was just too easy. It was easy for me to stay out of the way and let him do his thing it's one of the most watched post game interviews on YouTube ESPN history. It was made into not one, but two rap songs and the phrase, can't wait, was trademark by Bart Scott could you imagine if the if the jets at beating the Steelers in the AFC championship game?.

And we're glad you did another week of ask Adam questions, which we've had abled since the NFL draft. Some now that the draft has passed. And now that we're into the middle of mate time to bring back a nother round of ask questions time to bring back, my friend, my producer, the great, Josh macrey. Josh Adam it's been too long. So some good voice mails have built up. The first one comes to us from the great state of Indiana. Listen this Matteo. So I have a question about the colds linebacking core. So Anthony Walker took in that role along next to Jerry Leonard issue, and I just wanted to know do you still see Anthony Walker contributing on his team in maybe adding on top more or possibly getting replaced by some of the draft picks at the close us, and they use a lot of I'm bagging fix. Well. Great question Matteo. And I think you're smart guy. I think you're onto something there. If you take a look at the Indianapolis draft, they went ahead in the third round. Eighty ninth overall pick and took Bobby Oga Recci the linebacker from Stanford us another pick later on in the fifth frown hundred sixty fourth overall selection on EJ speed from tarleton state now again couple linebackers there that tells you something that they're looking look Anthony Walker good player, but they're on the lookout for more help at that position right now. Walker still listed as the starter will see how it shakes out during training camp within the defensive side of the ball, Adam but head a little further west up to the Pacific northwest as a matter of fact for this question about Ziggy ons with good, Adam John from Eugene, my questions about the he'll on society was not odd that he only signed a one year deal. Do you think this means that it's a prove it year for the and in the would be leading candidate to sign him to a long term extension depending on how a season goes. Or is it more of an dominated sue signing for the Ran's where they're trying to make a run at the Super Bowl. See, I definitely a playoff caliber. Football team. And Russell has the ability to take them to a Super Bowl. But just looking for some more clarity on the thought process behind this very late signing by Seok. Thanks that him. Yeah. Well, first of all, John, I would say this to you that Ziggy Ansah wasn't fully healthy and probably still is healthy number two of the UK's traded away. Frank Clark before the draft. And I think part of the reasoning behind trading. Frank Clark was freeing up the seventeen plus million dollars against their cap..

"Relax. It is the way program. Talking about. This is the be our info science, Adam. Adam. John says he hastened. I saw them person. That's why. And they did it really really Loverboy now with big oil Loverboy concert or even being Loverboy and playing concert is there only one or two songs they audience even wants to hear what you come up with its new or play to get a lot of groups play play working for the weekend. It's true. Lot of groups. Not true, the Beatles. Not true the beach, boys. No. But if you only had one hit or two and you're out on concert. That's all anybody wants to only had one or two hits. I know that in the happy song. That was your only hit. And I think only three people knew about. Throws. I wanna talk about this because wagon and irons did a study way back, and the reason I'll tell you how I got this. Oh, and you'll remember do you recall back in the day? We were on WGN S O in New Orleans. Yes. We went back. To was the college. I remember where we. I think I might might have been well we were at too late. We did a show from Tulane university. We also I think that was the same trip that we went to David Oric. Yeah. Okay. Well, then two lane. So so so we're doing the show, and we met a professor, and I cannot remember his name. Remember, the professor bet. Yes. Anyway. So I was talking about this. I don't know it's probably five years ago. The on the air with us. Might've been we. Anyway, but he followed the show religiously anyway as what I was talking about this about five years ago, and I said dog on it. I just cannot find it online. I can't find the article I could probably bought it through financial planning magazine too. Lazy to do that? So anyway, I get an Email like the next day from this professor. With the article he says is this the one you're looking for and I'm going, oh, so I've copied this like a thousand times so in going through UC over here. I've got the stack of stuff right yelled at every day because I literally have a thousand pages of research. You have a thousand just sitting on the desk. Biz TV we gotta clean you up. So that was cleaning up the other day. I come across when does the bonds first withdrawal sequence extend portfolio longevity. I'm going. Wow. We need to talk about this. Because as we have discussed in the past. Remember, the whole strategy that we talk about here. Once we get our guaranteed income and all that stuff and some semi guaranteed income stashed away. We want to make sure that we have a portfolio that's structured to mitigate sequence of returns risk, which Johnny dean will tell you. Well, it's simply the risk that you're going to start taking money out of a volatile portfolio, which we don't recommend. But if you're going to do that the risk is that for the first couple of years or sometime in the first five six seven years, you have to one two maybe three years that aren't so hot. They don't even have to be really far down years. They just simply have to be down years where you're taking money from what we call a declining portfolio. Exactly the risk. So allow me if I may to dig into this by just reading from the executive summary because I'm not gonna read an entire research report. And I might have to vote glasses on because this is really hard for me to see. Are you? You want to read it for me. I don't know what you want to read out of it. It's it's okay. Well, let me let me let me try it. All right. Do the squid. Have I have my wife's reading glasses. Mine got stolen out of my Escalade. Raiding. Glad they took my reading glasses. They didn't take my really cool sunglasses, and they took your reading my reading glasses on my other. Three different glasses, and they left. Thank God my briefcase which with a computer. So hence the all points bulletin for some suspect with a stigmatism exactly this paper this the executive summary. This paper explores the effect of withdrawal sequencing decisions on the long Gemini of retirees portfolios by comparing the strategy of consuming bond assets. I with two other strategies, consuming, stocks, I and maintaining a fifty fifty stock bond portfolio. Okay. Translation, you're in retirement. You've got a portfolio. That's fifty fifty stocks and bonds. Do you spend the bonds first, and then the socks do you spend the stocks first, and then the bonds, or do you do a systematic withdrawal and rebalance the portfolio to eight fifty? Fifty mix every year, otherwise take some of both. And then rebalance exactly quote, we find that consuming bonds I extend investor portfolios at ninety percent of the time over the other two methods. However investors who consume bonds first transition to the riskiest portfolio with significantly higher annual volatility than the alternative strategies, you just wrote about this called the rising equity glide path. Yes. Which again goes against the very idea that somebody would have something like a target date fund beyond retirement where it takes you or that stupid one hundred minus your age right thing, which tells you if you're ninety years old, you should only have ten percent and stocks we find that by considering the current spread of stock yields. Over bond. Yields practitioners can identify market signal that reliably forecasts. When a bonds first strategy will produce the largest gains. Not true, not true. They wrote this by the way in two thousand eight and you know, what they said it's not a good idea to do this now because this spreads are such that you should you should keep this rebalance. No because guess what happened in two thousand and eight I I remember. Yeah. And either event I'm not saying everything they that. These professors always say is true or not true. I'm just saying that stuff happens. But what I found was really interesting is when you evaluate it. And I'll talk of the top of my head having read this twenty six thirty six Forty-six when you evaluated the ten percent of the time that it didn't necessarily work it kind of. Phil did. But it just wasn't statistically significant. They went back to eighteen ninety something. A.

"But you're all set. Thank you, Karen as you exit. The sages moment is entirely yours. You take it away on one tons and tons of heads to William Camilla down you for listening right now. And to all the teacher that this charter middle school hawks falling apart with flu stomach by charging for the kid. Feel better. That's a dangerous situation out there Lysol for everybody in that respect. I'm gonna read to you guys. And you tell me figure out who this is at age four he began singing in his church choir as a teenager he worked as a wedding singer. He was voted as high school student body president and prom king. I was gonna say Brian Burton until then the singing in the really. Graduated from high school at sixteen as class salutatorian, the obvious pause meant, I was thinking my head had a pronounced John legend, dude, how did you know? I knew some of those things that's the kind of what I was thinking John legend. So he is on the voice tonight at eight o'clock NBC the voices back with a new coach John legend with all those credits behind him a lot more credits than that. But I mean, the kid was doing this stuff when he was young. And now, he's got an ego. He's got the EMMY Grammy Oscar and a Tony I love when a new coach joins the season because I love to see how they interact with all the other coaches, you know, Adam and Blake have been there since the beginning Kelly Clarkson is back this season again as a judge. And so I wanna see the four of them excited to see how the interaction works, right? I wanna see some of these kids out there in front of John legend tooks. I mean, obviously, you have such a great group of people right out there from Kelley Blake Adam John legend now get in the mix there and everything just to see how they interact with all those people who are so massively talented to a test of. Somebody's ability as well, not just how they perform and everything how they interact how they learn from these people need advice. They take from these people and everything to enjoy seeing like the the singers when they get the chair turns this decision I always enjoy seeing whose team they want to be you know, what I mean? It's fun choosing choosing John over Adam. Would you who knows? Would you choose John over Adam? I might I might have some fresh blood up there. You know, I would two actually airs tonight at eight on NBC..

"So we'll talk about the hardworking men and women in the military and our number three. It'll be great. He's also big Chicago fan. So we've got that coming up and also Adam Schefter will be joining us here on the show in just twelve minutes time. Did you see the real sports piece involving him? I have not seen that really moving. And it captures him perfectly. Having known him for. Geez. Twenty five years. Now him being a year in front of me in Michigan covering I edited his copy from the Michigan's national championship win Glen Rice. He covered that championship game for the Michigan daily. I added. His copy that night. I didn't touch it. I just cut and paste it, and I had to go somewhere to drink that night him come on the short straw for that night yet plans. Oh my gosh. Running across campus to get to the Michigan daily everyone running the bar, and I was going the opposite way. And just like they were they were going crazy in the streets and had to go run to cut and paste, Adam schefters column from Seattle, I guess salmon going against that's exactly what it was. And so there's lots of talk about with Adam obviously that real sports piece the thing that's really moving about. It is the the the book that Adam wrote on his wife's late husband who passed away in the attacks of nine eleven the man, I never bet. He wrote that book we talked about it with Adam John Frankel who did the piece on atom on real sports. Also, married a nine eleven widow. Wow. So the two of them shared their stories together, apparently Adam reached out to John. Frankel when he was beginning to date his wife to just kinda suss out what the? What it was like for him in John Frankel? It really was very moving piece and everybody should seek it out on on real sports. And we'll talk about that without him. But obviously now that the season's over what happens with Antonio Brown. Nick foles. I think is the the really big ticket item. That's I so we'll talk about that with Adam. What's our poll question today? Chris all right, obviously. Now the Super Bowl football season is come to an end a lot of big tent pole events coming up. But you wanna you looking forward to the most. Okay, what can Ford to the most March madness coming up next month, the masters, obviously, kicks off April NFL draft, the NBA playoffs should be awesome. This year game of thrones. Which boy twenty looking forward to most. Okay. Richeisenshow dot com vote. I know what I'm saying..
