"That Demi bought illegal antiquities that were likely stolen and alluded from Egypt and Iraq and Syria and other countries, and she gave her some shit. She's like, these are not so much cuneiform tablets. I don't even know what that means, but it must be something fancy. As much as they are pre nod, dog biscuits. And she said, you better hope they're fakes. With genuine tablets like this have frequently been looted from Iraq. Including to support insurgent groups like ISIS. But it just, you know, it's not only the oracle that bugged me guys like I've been looking at a lot of people's pictures lately. It's not only the Kardashians and the Megan foxes. It's basically everybody. The amount of filtering going on. The amount of things people do to make themselves look a certain way is so alarmingly bad. That I don't have much I just don't I just don't have much hope for the future of this country. The picture of Demi Lovato when this article way too slender, we see now portly she got. And I'm not going to make a wage job. She gained some weight. It's okay, we all do. I didn't know Phil this could be this crazy, and this aggressive. It's very sad that people resort to this. These photo manipulations and, you know, before they post these pictures do they really look at them and go, oh yeah, this is completely what I look like. No, you don't look like this at all, honey. It's all theater. So many things right now in this life are just pure theater. You know, the mass mandate is theater. This is theater. The high gas prices are theater, what's going on in Ukraine is theater, albeit very horrifying and sad, you know, the way that people still think we've got aware mask here and there. It's just, you know, thank God here at the casino. There's no one's even thinking about it. Man, sometimes you see an old person, where when you go, okay, maybe the guys got some other shit going on. You don't want to have any comorbidity problems. That's fine. But no more of that mask nonsense, what a pleasure. You speak about bullshit artist, you gotta bring up Alec Baldwin again. This guy's gap, yap, yapping again. I don't know who the hell is on his side. In a legal sense, but he can not still talk this way. Nothing's going to stop this guy from speaking. His truth, he demands to speak it. His legal team can't stop him, I guess. His wife ain't stopping him. You put this guy in your microphone, he'll start talking to you about the whole shooting incident. And now there was an article in The Hollywood Reporter that Alex truth is that the people who were filing lawsuits pertaining to the onset shooting of the cinematographer Helena Hutchins and the wounding of the director Joel Souza are targeting innocent non negligent deep pocketed litigants like himself instead of the people who likely seen negligent but have no money. Basically he's saying you're not suing the people you know you're not going to get money out of. It's a real shitty way to act. Now I know it may seem inappropriate to keep talking shit about the people who are affected by this guy and the wife and the mother and the father and the husband I mean it's so sad. But he made these comments while he was moderating. Why is he even moderating events right now? Why is he making a movie right now? He was moderating events at the boulder International Film Festival. And he just went off after the moderator, opened the floor to Alec Baldwin, he launched into a lengthy and whatever you want to call it statement about there being just two victims. It's just two victims in the rush shooting. While also implying that some individuals who have filed lawsuits are financially motivated and just going after people, they assume have deep pockets. And right from the beginning, from the moment this thing happened, everybody is put out, you know, besides all the anguish and the suffering and the horrible feelings, everybody has, of course, there are two victims and nobody else is a victim, so to speak. And Alex said, we have dealt with a situation where specific people are not as interested in finding out what really happened. So is fake? This guy just can't help himself. And I gotta be honest, I haven't seen elaria do much on social media lately. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen her go bananas on Instagram and say things to make her husband look great. But this guy should be smart enough to know that calling himself a victim is awful. But we also know how narcissistic he is to believe that does he really think he's the only victim that counts? He said to the group, what you have is a certain group of litigant son, whatever side, who their attitude is, well, the people who likely see negligent have enough money and the people who have money are not negligent. But we're not going to let that stop us from doing what we need to do in terms of litigation. Why should people if you you're not going to get money? That's what they're doing. It's very hard to sit here and think that he's actually thinking of Elena Hutchins husband Matt functions. In this group of people who are money hungry and trying to get money, but this, I mean, if you saw Matt Hutchins on The Today Show interview, in which he said, finally, that he was really upset and enraged by the fact that Alec Baldwin refused to take responsibility from pointing a gun and his wife and shooting her and killing her. He also pulled out Alec over his bullshit tears and said, are we really supposed to feel bad about you, mister Baldwin? Every time Alan talks, he just keeps making it worse. And by the way, every time he's up there talking, he always looks like he needs to burp, but he can't. Just keep that in mind. There was a time I felt a little bit of empathy for Alec. Remember that funnel of him holding the phone after the shooting? That was rough to see. You know, he was just spilling his guts out to his wife and I guess that's what we call and just spilling about, I can't believe this happened. But everything he and eladia have said and done since this has just shown everybody that just the most tone deaf people self centered people dare I say trashy people shopping in Vermont, getting new clothes, eating and fancy restaurants that are roped off in the fucking windows seats. Give me a goddamn break. You fucking killed somebody, bro hide for a while. And this guy, the poor husband, and the son of Helena. Their lives will never be the same. And Alec is sitting there crying and not being a victim. With all of this says that I know we've talked about this AD nauseam, but all of this sense is that Alec Baldwin, went in there as a producer, obviously didn't have any of his business order, a business shit in order. It wasn't up to snuff, there was some problems we've heard about. Maybe his incorporation paperwork was off. His insurance, maybe he didn't pay for the right kind of professionals on staff. We know that to be the fact. And instead of focusing on that, he's just living this Instagram life with Elia. Sorry, it was my back hitting the wall. Just living the Instagram life with Eli ya. Somebody else who suffered some public humiliation, I got a kick out of this. You know, we talk about cancel culture a lot, and remember Morgan Wallen, the singer, he had a public relations nightmare that could have been limited to get getting caught breaking the COVID-19 rules set by NBC and signing that live when he was going to host that show or at least be the musical addition to that show. And he got voted for the show back in 2020. He got read book several episodes later, but then just a few months after that, a video came out on the Internet. And it showed in casually using the N word on a night that he was a little bit toasted and drunk. He apologized, he said, I'll never do it again. I brought up since then and it's never going to happen. But his tour was canceled, radio stations began dropping his songs. He was banned from several awards shows like the ACM awards and the Billboard Music Awards. Well, here we are here later. And a $500,000 check from his record label and he's ready to resume his career. A few nights ago, at the country music awards, he was nominated for three wars, male artist of the year, song of the year, an album of the year. And that was right before his video went viral and he had to step away for a while. He won album of the year, he gave a shout out to everybody you could imagine. I mean, everybody that was important to him in his life, the fans and the audience were over the moon to see him turn out again and show up and win. But on Twitter, they roasted his ass. You know, Twitter like I've always said, we've always known it's just a bunch of assholes talking shit and they're just the pussy kids in the schoolyard who don't get the attention they need in the schoolroom, but they, in the playground, they become loud and obnoxious. But this guy's back completely. He's back. What is this sense of canceling someone if they come back this hard and when like this, what are we doing to people? It's just getting so out of hand. The cancellation of. Movie stars and singers and what have you and rappers. It doesn't make any sense if you're going to take them back into the fold. A year or two later, McLaren will be hosting news again soon. You can bet Chris Cuomo will be doing something in the next two years. That just don't know what this all means and what it amounts to if these people end up coming back. What's the real lesson? They have all this money. They have all these millions. Does it just mean go home, count your money, sit still for two years? And then you'll be back in the fold. If that's the case, what's the lesson we're really teaching and why are people so adamant to teach it? I mean, this guy he shouldn't be working because it is mullet. Let alone what he said with the end more than what have you, but, you know, I just don't know what they're going with this stuff. They're getting ridiculous. They've got to there's got to come a point where people go, you know what, it's just like people made a mistake. The guy made a mistake. He said what he said, we uncovered old stuff. And you know, he's apologized, and we all need to move on. Except his apology and move on. I keep saying this because I really feel like a guy like me who walks a tightrope every day and says things into a microphone that can be judged and misinterpreted and interpreted and laid its scary and you go, well, am I a day away from not working for two years? Can't we just get to a point where they get to apologize and if it's sincere, we move on with our lives and everybody moves on and it's all good. I don't know. I just couldn't believe the guy was out there again receiving awards and accolades after he was a pariah. Less than two years ago, it just doesn't make sense to me. Oh. There you go again. That was your free show, I guess we're calling it, what do we call it? What do we call it? Because we know what to do with Thursday's show. "Street here is that your varieties chief Taylor Swift expert, a swifty at heart or what exactly. That is true. I go back with her to 2006. It was kind of there talking with her from the beginning and a big fan at that time. And I think she's one of the great singer songwriters of our time. And apart from my affection, just going back to sort of having seen the humble roots. You mean, you were actually interviewing her before her first album was released. Did you know something the rest of the world didn't or what? I would like to say that I had this incredible foresight, but I remember going to a showcase that big machine put on before her first album came out and there was another female singer on the bill that I thought was much more likely to be successful. This innocent young teenager is probably not what radio wants. There wasn't like a huge history of teens succeeding at country radio other than LeAnn Rimes, a long time ago. And so I thought, well, this older brunette whose name I'm conveniently free eating right now. She's going to be the female star to come out of this room. But Taylor's cute. You know, she's sweet and we'll see how far that goes. So I can't say that I accurately forecasted what would happen with her. But yeah, I was in there pretty early on. And then I remember my first real encounter with her was when she was already starting to have a hit record with the song Tim McGraw. And I went to her hotel room at the ACM awards when she was going to sing Tim McGraw two Tim McGraw's face for the first time. And I just sat there with her for like a couple hours while she was having her hair and makeup done. Obviously no entourage at that time, no huge expectations for platinum or multi platinum and it was just, you know, the easiest access in the world. And that would not last. But it was fun being there just seen her go through the whole kind of glam transformation when she was about to make kind of this big TV sport. Wow. So what was she like in dare I say real life, right? I mean, but without all of the handlers and all of that, what did you talk about? And what did you hear from her? She was in many ways the person that I still see now. I mean, she's one of the more empathetic stars. I think I've ever met in terms of remembering names, seeming to care about you.

The Bill Simmons Podcast

"Jeff Zucker did a thing at CNN, the thing that he was hired to do, which was to make it relevant. And he did it initially by going all in on certain stories at CNN. If you remember back before Trump, it was the poop cruise. Remember that? Or the missing plane, every night you tune in for an Asia on the missing place. They were narratives and, you know, people like that stuff and the ratings did increase. Then he basically applied the same strategy to Donald Trump, just went all in on Donald Trump. And airing his rallies during the election. And CNN's support of Donald Trump during that campaign, I do believe made a real difference in people taking him seriously as a candidate, listening to his message, allowing him to rally his fans via CNN. Then when Trump was in office, they did this pivot where they went kind of into resistance TV mode where they had anti Trump hosts and they were for truth and Donald Trump was for lies. And they really took an anti Trump stance and it was great for ratings at the time. Me CNN was throwing off a $1 billion in profit during the Trump years because people tuned in to see the latest outrage of the day from Donald Trump and they really define themselves as being kind of anti Fox. The problem with that is that CNN after Trump has sort of been in a no man's land. They are now a politicized brand that half the country doesn't want anything to do with. And the other half of the country isn't afraid of the latest outrage of the day that Donald Trump did, so they're not tuning in to CNN for that. And the ratings have just gone in the toilet. And I think there's a new regime coming in at CNN at the owner level. And they really want to depoliticize the CNN brand. And I don't know if that's possible. So to get back to your question, just Zucker let them that problem to deal with. And I don't know long term whether the damage to the CNN brand in the U.S. is fixable. Overseas and other countries, CNN still means the news. And that's a great brand to have. But in the U.S., CNN means something to a lot of people and it's something they don't like. Great time to launch a streaming service. CNN plus. Yeah, and they're charging 5 bucks a month for that. I'm not sure who's going to subscribe to that because they can't put the regular news product on CNN plus because they have to put that on CNN. That's the deal with all the cable companies. Is that it has to be unique, at least for now. So what they're doing is they're just flooding CNN plus with all these like random shows, like Anderson Cooper, you know, is going to talk about stuff that's not in the news. Or if you love Don lemon, you'll get more of that or Brian stelter will do a daily media show, not a weekly one. There is probably a small market for that. And if you put some of the documentary stuff on there, like the standard shows, you don't think anyone's gonna watch this stuff. To me, it's like with the streaming services, talk shows, where you have to go out of your way to a streaming service to watch people talking. When is that succeeded? Other than the Friends reunion, probably not much. You have friends reading, which was a one off. But I'm talking about like daily programming. Who's had the success in that? Because it seems like in a lot of cases, especially with cable, one of the reasons the show's work is because people are flipping channels and they land on that channel for an hour for a half hour. And it feels like it is. It feels like if you want to know what's going on right now this moment, you flip on CNN. And that doesn't really work in the streaming environment. Listen, it's the same thing going on with the ward shows. Award shows are trying to figure out what they're going to be in the streaming world. And nobody really knows, they just did this country music show on Amazon the other night. And I checked it out just to see what it was, the ACM awards. And it was basically a concert. They just did a concert and they had a couple awards. They had Dolly Parton that they wheeled out there and talked for a little bit. But it was basically a concert and that's what they think an award show will be on streaming. I don't know what they know what news is on streaming yet. I think weekly maybe, like Bill Maher has had a lot of success and I think something of a renaissance the last couple of years and John Oliver and HBO, John auvers, another one, but when you're just talking about the daily grind, like first take, let's say they took first take obvious being and moved it to ESPN+. Right. There's no way it has the same odd answer. My question is, does that have anything close to the same audience? If it was just streaming on there, it was like a college basketball game. We haven't seen the evidence yet that that works. I don't know, but think about in the audio space. Like you would think that the same rationale would apply from radio to podcasts because podcasts are on demand, but everybody listens to news podcasts. And they feel like they're urgent and relevant enough to tune into. But could podcast be taking the streaming, whatever that streaming corner could have been, because it's just easier to listen to podcasts. When you're a streamer,.

But everything he and eladia have said and done since this has just shown everybody that just the most tone deaf people self centered people dare I say trashy people shopping in Vermont, getting new clothes, eating and fancy restaurants that are roped off in the fucking windows seats. "Two victims. "And the interesting thing to me is when it doesn't work out for somebody, they automatically blame the system. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I agree. I know what you mean. I'm going to go there. I'm going to go to the system. I'm going to be on the plane. Yeah, I'm going to yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm half and half on the caldera Underwood scenario. We wouldn't even know your name. Don't act. We have Carlton was really concerned about it. Why didn't he start a foundation or something for people who are exiting reality TV? That could be a big money maker. So true. For him to help people decompress from the stardom and then the nothing. I'm just saying. Well, I mean, I've always said people come to Hollywood. Come here from somewhere else to become something else. And that disconnect really messes with people's heads. Because I think they'll be happier when they become rich. They are happier when they become famous. And when they're not, then they're sour grapes or they're nothing and they're despondent. Let me ask you guys this. Would you do reality television in this day and age knowing everything that you know now? I know you've done a couple. Would you do guys would you do reality television? Okay. Senator Eddie, not gonna do it. If, by the way, if and I tell this to people all the time. Yeah. If I had, you know, the first organic plant based chamber. Something to sell. And I'm gonna go and tell that 'cause I used to I use it. But if I had something and it made sense and it was worth, you know, putting my product in myself and my brand on TV. Yes, but if you're going to reality TV just for the fame of it all. You're only using 10% of it. Yeah. You're wasting the time that you can. And you're only using 10% of it. So don't go. If there's not an idea in your head that is natural and normal and will make sense for you. Sell something. Yeah, that's what I told other people that wanted to do Dancing with the Stars. I said, come up with a product first. Mmm um. And then do it. Yes. Start that tampon line. Speaking in a starting line, Zoë Kravitz is catwoman now, but it's not the first time she tried for the role. According to the observer, Zoe once told she was too urban when she tried to audition for The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, AKA that means two black. Zoe said, being told at the time that I wasn't able to read because of the color of my skin and the word urban being thrown around like that, that what was really hard about that moment. Sorry, that was really hard about that moment. Now, E. News has reached out to Warner Brothers for comment, but they have yet to hit back. I'm sure that this has happened to you time and time again. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I was thinking, that's like decades of my career. We weren't thinking of going ethnic with the role. I mean, that's a word that I heard. You know, from the early network shows, it was very Midwest, you know, white centric, you know, TV. I didn't have an interracial relationship on shows that I was on because of that boundary between races, which is bizarre to say now, but I came out 40 years ago, and this is the way network television was. So we've come a long way once again. I feel like the elder statesman when I talk about how horrible it was back then. And what I heard now, it's so different, you know? No, it's crazy. But it's different now because of people like you who kicked over in the ceiling. Bust through the door, face first. And I think it's necessary for these actors and these actresses to start to come out and reveal things like this. This morning, I woke up and I'm scrolling down Instagram and what do I see? Shirley Ralph just mentioned something about didn't make out with Tom Cruise. Yeah, about casting director saying that she couldn't make out with Tom Cruise. And it's like, because she was black and it would be, it would look off putting on television. Cheryl Lee Ralph. So all I'm saying is she was there, too. When I was coming up, you know? There are so many different stories like this, and it's important for us to continue to hear it so that we can get it. Crazy. Yeah. My God. Also, she in this article, which is what I really am obsessed with this woman for. She said that she cares a lot about what other people think, which is why she got off of social media. I want to know, do you guys give people that much real estate in your life? No, I'm able to compartmentalize, you know? It's a game you like things and they're excited and they can say we love you and you know thank you and send you roses and hearts and I stay with that. When somebody gets negative, now you can delete it. I think initially you couldn't. And you can block them as well. Yeah, I think it's a fantastic question because I don't think it can be easily answered so many people allow social media to affect them and their mental health in a way that are so subconscious. They don't even realize it. Yeah. And so myself, I barely look at the comments, you know? I don't really engage in Iraq. And I know I should. But for me, it's more of like a, it's a barrier that I put in place. I put things out there and then I retreat. You know what's so interesting is I feel like people self regulate based on other people's perceptions of you. I think when you were younger, you acted a certain way to make your parents proud whenever you were in high school you acted a certain way to make teachers proud and then you wanted to make colleges impressed and then now you want to make your boss impressed and not you're doing it for your husband. So I feel like other people's perceptions really base how we are as people and because we don't want to be perceived as terrible people. That's true. But what happens is when you put that much real estate on someone else's opinion, that's when it becomes a problem. I say an 80 20 split is a good way to think about it. You do things 80% for your truthful for you. Yeah, and you do 20% about what people think because it is really how we have been brought up. Like, how are you going to act, how would a judge look at this, our perceived this? How would a court of law perceive this? How would God perceive this? Well, they don't self be true, you know? What's true for you or comfortable for you is different from me from you. And that's the extension of us that's in social media. Always be truthful to yourself. We can do. You guys are so nice to me on social. I go there to feel good about myself. Still ahead, country's biggest stars go big and sin city. We're partying with Dolly Terry Carly and more. That's next. Las Vegas went country last night and things got a little wild. The ACM awards had killer performances, unexpected winners, Dolly Parton as the host, and we were there for it all. Let me give you a 5 minute. Slow.

"Who are all part of the CDC and you're working to eradicate four separate different global outbreaks at the same time. While also searching for a cure for that disease. Yeah. Wow. It's a lot of fun. It's like you are all a different, everybody has a different occupation, and each of those occupations can do a special thing. So it's like, if you have somebody that's a paramedic, they can do one of these things. If they have a researcher that you can do one of these things. And so it's really useful for to be able to have their special skills within your game and then you say, okay, well, if I can get to this city, then maybe you can get your character over here and we can eradicate this thing. And it's really neat. I think it was probably my first cooperative game too. That's interesting. Cool. Yeah. And then it also has three different legacy versions, one of which is an award winner. We'll get to that later, but we did talk about legacies earlier, so this is an example of something that got twisted into a legacy. Q is for Queen games. Again, not a lot I could put. It's like, I'm glad you had a cue. Oh, I had a clue. I literally did not have to think about the cube because I just like, there's probably other things I can do. I'm just gonna grab queen. It's fine. Yep. Game manufacturer based in Troy story Germany. They focus mostly on family or children's games, so lots of dice rolling, like kubo, or escape, or stuff that's marketed straight to kids like banana party. It's an adorable game of collecting bananas before your Friends collect all their bananas. Pretty straightforward. Yeah. Queen games has also produced two spiel desserts winners, Alhambra, which is a game of bidding to place tiles from a shared board onto your own complex in a Spanish court. And then kingdom builder, which is players using wooden houses across a randomized landscape to control the most territory. R is for root. Root is a board game created by Cole world and published by later games in 2018. We're going to touch back on a term we brought in earlier because this is an asymmetrical game, which later games specializes in publishing. This is a game where everyone is using different game mechanics to play the same game, but you're all trying to achieve a similar win condition. So in route, everyone is playing as different forces in a forest who somehow win the game. The Marquis de shops attempt to build buildings across the forest and expand their empire utilizing multiple pieces right off the gate in the game. The Woodland alliance, my counterpoint doesn't start with any pieces on the board, but they use their influence to run guerrilla campaigns and so dissension amongst the Woodland rinks, and then earn forces that way. They are adorable Woodland communists, and we treasure them. And then as a final counterpoint, the vagabond is just a single piece that is on the board, but they work with any of the factions on the boards to provide them with resources to earn points for them or to cut off their resources to earn points for them. Okay. So everyone's kind of playing a slightly different game, but everyone's trying to win the same game. Now when people are playing their own version while they're playing it, can things that they do mess up other players tasks? Absolutely. A lot of the times the Marquis de chat will see that the Woodland alliance is trying to start a rebellion in one of their territories and then we'll just move their pieces in, just like try to push that out before that they can succeed in overthrowing their control. Cool. Yeah. Which takes us to S, everyone's been waiting. Let's talk about spiel dish yaris. Yes. So this awards one of the top German board games annually to the best board game produced that year for the first time. And it's also considered one of the top board gaming awards in the world. The shortlist nominees for this can expect a three to four times increase on their expected production for a game and winners end up selling in the millions of copies worldwide. Wow. Which spiel does yaris you do have to realize this is specifically for the best German language game. So if a game is released outside of the German language for the first time in his later localized into German, the year it's localized into German as the year that it is considered for the spiel des yaris. Okay. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. And then spiel distillers also has some special awards that they'll give out the most traditional one used is the most beautiful game, which we'll talk about now. Some notable winners, 79 is the first winner of the shield is yours. That is the game hair and tortoise. The first special prize winner for solitaire game was the Rubik's Cube. Huh. Interesting. Yeah. And then we've got some gateway games in here. Settlers of catan, carcassonne, ticket to ride. We'll talk about gateway games in a bit. And then the 2021 winner of the award 2022 awards won't be till this summer. So we have micro macro crime city as the most recent winner of the spiel des yaris. Can I do a related plug here too? Please. So winner of the 1981 to be able to see ours for the game focus was Sid Saxon. And said saxons papers are housed in the library and archives of play at the strong. And over the last couple of years, we actually have worked on a project to digitize all of his game diaries. And put them online, and so now we have a research portal online for those. It's called the Sid Saxon portal. It's Saxon portal dot museum of play dot org. Anyway, on that site, we have about 35 years worth of his professional and personal diaries. And so basically every day Sid would sit down and write down every person he talked to every game he played in every book he read and then at the end of every year he would go back and index his own diaries so that you could actually go to the index and be like, it's 1974. Did Sid play monopoly this year? And you can go see all of his mentions on it. It'll be like, yep, February 1st, February 9th, March 3rd. It's incredible. So we're actually doing also a transcription project with these diaries because it's one thing to have the images up. But it's another thing to make them usable and accessible for people, especially to keyword search. So at any given time, we'll have about 5 diaries up for transcription. We're kind of starting at the beginning, 1963, working our way through. So at this point of recording, we have 5 full ones completely done, so in 1963 to 1960 8, are totally available online. All the transcriptions and everything. So when you keyword search anything on that site, you'll get all of the transcriptions for those. And we've had a couple of really amazing transcribers who are super game enthusiasts and.

"That your career is telling me about long and hard about this. I can not. What movie would you spend extra? What kind of movie would you spend the extra money this year? One that I love the main actor in? Yeah. Absolutely. I would definitely do that. I'm trying to think of any that are out right now that I would actually be. And by the way, Batman is one of them. I'm excited to see Batman. I will spend the extra money. I'm going to go to the place with a recliner and the martinis and the food put in front of me. That's how much I'm going to spend for Batman. And you're going to pass out halfway through the movie because you got drunk. Oh no. What was that saying with all the explosions you can't fall asleep? Well that you'd be paying for the experience too though. And that ups it up. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's like $1500 at the end of the day. It's insane. Drinks and dinner. And your car. Just add that AMC Bill to my student loans. I'll pay it whenever I get around to it. All right. We'll be right back with more daily pop. Let's bring it back to K stew because she had a busy weekend. She was also at the end of parents Independent Spirit Awards. She walked the carpet in this sequin Chanel. Situation. And I am here all right, okay. This is the Chanel I need. Yeah. We like this one better. Thank you. Lily James also showed up and showed out in a pink crop top with black pans, did she rock it? Loved it. Yeah. She's got the abs for it. The embellishments on that entire bustier beautiful. She looked unbelievable. Yeah. Rosario Dawson is in that little black dress. Letting everybody know honey, I am single. I am not living for it. There's too much going on. I wish the top was just normal. No. I like the top. Love the time. It's the tulip and flower thing at the bottom. Did they look at ears to me? No, no. What the heck is a little strange? Yeah, yeah, sure. But what she was thinking, oh God. I know. This is the one that's too much. Now, my favorite uncocked jam. Was out and about Julia Fox showed some skin in this black cutout dress and it is apparent that Kanye is not letting her borrow anyone. Connie, tell me you broke up with Kanye without telling me you broke up with Kanye. That is the photo right there. That's confirmation. That is confirmation. Damn, and she had it. She was almost there. I love a good hit by a moment, but y'all, what is this? Drapery from the hotel in Santa Barbara. It looks like a drapery. And by the way, it was close. I would have loved the hip bone if the rest of the dress. It wasn't for the bra top. If the dress went over this way. Okay. I would have been here for the hippo. It makes this dress. It's confusing. I want to know too. I'm a memo and asked them to explain to us. Somebody in an arts and crafts room over at like the fit of school. Right. Sydney Sweeney walked the red carpet in this gray floral miu miu dress. I love it. Yeah. I hope the hair is for a roll. Yeah. She went natural with the hair. What is this? I don't know. She didn't have time to do her hair. No, no, no. You got time. It's for a role. I'm sure. Yeah, it better be. Yeah. Well, we guys, we are out of time. Thank you so much for joining us. "What is your favorite memory from that time? Jeez, Louise. It was such a blur. It was like 30 days of principal photography, which is very small for a studio picture. To put it in contrast, true lies was a year's shoot. That was 30 days. Wow. I was like, boom, boom, boom, run and gun. We only had like a couple of takes of each scene. So it was a lot of rehearsing and writing and rewriting. And then when we shot, it was just go, go, go. So it was a lot. I had to memorize how to, you know, my Chinese dialog. My Cantonese dialog, I had to learn how to play the bass and sing and record the soundtrack and do the movie. Wow. So it was a lot. It was full of. People are still dressing up as you and not for Halloween. And I still have the wardrobe from the red lace dress and everything. From Wayne's world one, yeah. It's so crazy. Because when you look at the evolution of the Asian actress actors and how many doors have been opened since you became the leading lady, is it wild to you? I'm grateful that Mike Myers and Bonnie and Terry Turner wrote the part as an Asian woman that sang rock and roll like pat benatar, otherwise the park could have gone to like, I don't know, Cameron Diaz or somebody else, you know, Sandra Bullock, but because it was written that way, I had a chance to step through the door and there was nobody out there that looked like me on TV when I was on general hospital before. We didn't have any interracial storyline mixing, which is a life's blood of TV, you know, so it was a different time. So I'm glad to be at the forefront, you know. Right? And I just love that she wasn't the stereotypical, you know, even in true lives too, your role also was not the stereotypical Asian role that we saw back in the day. What true lies they saw Middle Eastern girls, Latino girls, they saw me. So they weren't, it was irrespective of ethnic background, which I would love to see more and more in roles. So that was pretty cool that James Cameron said, well, let me see all these different actresses that are exotic in a different way. And you know, we flew it on to Miami and just did our best and made the best woman get the job and knock on wood. Went my way. That movie was epic. Aren't they doing a TV show? They do the true lives TV. I wasn't called. But that's all right. Shots fired. That's fire. She's ready to get behind that limo again. I went over the people said, well, didn't you die? I said, no, I went over the edge with the limo, but I could come back like, you know, half a face of scar. I have to Scarface like Harvey dent. Okay, do you know skinner darkness? Okay, you heard it here first. You heard it here first. Dolly Parton has no flaws to slow down. She's pulling a double duty tonight hosting and performing at the ACM awards. We love some dollar here. And I found out how she's preparing and could there be a Dolly and Cardi B collab? Maybe in the future. Bella, you've been quoted saying that you see yourself in one of the young stars Cardi B, you say you're all struck by her talent. Next year, could we see a Dolly Parton and Cardi B performance on the stage of the academy of country music awards? Well, I don't know, but I know she's a character and.

And I go, and I listen, sometimes, yeah, I mean, it's not a, I don't think it's a dirty admission. Sometimes a song is so good, I go, man, I hope that's about me. I hate to break it to you, John. They're all about you. And that's your Hollywood minute. Lady a is ready to party it up in Vegas. They're telling us about their plans for the ACM awards and how their new single, what a song can do, became a love letter to their fans. Written just for you baby crazy world song we wrote it. Kind of just about the power of a song and power of music. And it wasn't until we kind of recorded it that Hillary was like, this is because at the end, it was like, and it's what brought us here to you, and then we were like, man, in the last show environment, how powerful is that going to feel? It's like this little connection to the fans. The first time we got back on stage to a live audience, I mean, it was so emotional.
