A highlight from Were SBF's parents in on it? Follow the Money

"Welcome back, everyone. I am Cass Pianci, and I'm joined as usual by my partner in crime, not of the criminal sort, Bennett Tomlin. How are you today? I'm doing well. How are you, Cass? I'm doing good. It's been busy. It's been a very busy week for both of us. But today's episode is going to be about SPF's parents, the Bankmans and the Freeds, and their what appears to be increasingly important role that they each played in the criminal elements of FTX and Alameda Research. They called it a family business. They accepted incredibly large salaries. His father was getting a million dollars after requesting it because he was only getting 250 ,000 before. Mom pushed and tried to ensure that any money getting sent to the charity arm of the company had two steps of separation, two degrees of separation. And just really shady, weird stuff going on over there with the Bankmans and the Freeds. But those are kind of vague descriptions of what's going on. Bennett, why don't you walk us through some of the seriously criminal elements and what is happening? There is a decent amount of allegations contained in this lawsuit from the FTX debtors in possession against Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried that at a high level alleges that they were involved in specific aspects of the business and were closely connected to various alleged criminal acts and criminal acts people have pled guilty to. Starting with Joseph Bankman, he was involved with Alameda Research as early as 2018, which is when it was founded, and stayed involved throughout the entire time. The first several years, this appears to have been relatively informal. He directed FTX towards their first law firm, suggested their first accounting firm, was involved in consultations for hiring of certain executives and things like that. But none of this was documented in any kind of formal way. Eventually, in January 2021, he decides that there should be some kind of piece of paper that describes his relationship with these entities. And so he creates a document that describes his work for Alameda Research and FTX and FTX US, saying he's doing a variety of pro bono legal work and consulting work for these entities. What's interesting, of course, is that he was the signatory for the FTX entities and for himself on this entity. Really has kind of vibes of that loan agreement between Bitfinex and Tether years ago, where JLVDV and Juan Carlo was signing for both entities. And so that was one moment that really struck me as I was going through that is that he felt the need to, after providing advice for several years, finally in 2021 documents it and says he's providing this pro bono legal advice. This did not stay pro bono for very long. Later in 2021, he would take a leave of absence from Stanford University. And after he took this leave of absence, he allegedly told an FTX US employee, I'm no longer getting paid by Stanford because I'm on leave, so you should have me on salary starting December 1st. In December 2021, this is when he finally entered into a formal employment agreement with FTX US, where his nominal title was Senior Advisor to the FTX Foundation. You said it was $250 ,000. It was actually $200 ,000 a year, plus bonuses he was supposed to be getting paid. And this is where we get to the fun part that you made an allusion to before. He went to FTX's head of administration after signing this employment agreement that clearly said $200 ,000, told this person that he was supposed to be getting $1 million a year starting in December, and then he sends an email over to Sam Bankmanfried, his son, that says, and I quote, Gee, Sam, I don't know what to say here. This is the first I've heard of the $200 ,000 a year salary putting Barbara on this, meaning he cc'd in Sam Bankmanfried's mother and his domestic partner to help him deal with this contract negotiations that happened after he signed that contract. And it worked. It worked. Within two weeks, Bankman and Fried were gifted $10 million in funds originating from Alameda. Within three months, they ended up getting their $16 million mansion in the Bahamas funded entirely by FTX. And over the period after they got that mansion, they were able to expense something like $90 ,000 in various other expenses. And before he signed that contract agreement in December 2021, I do want to make clear he was also provided with an option to purchase shares of FTX US and FTX trading in November 2021. Before he was even employed with FTX, he was getting large options of shares. So yeah, I think that kind of is a good initial overview and we can get into some of the details he was also involved in, but they were receiving a lot of this type of monetary compensation. Yeah, well, I want to specifically bring up here some things that really made a red flag go off for me were, for instance, how they were keen to keep the residencies, the properties that they were acquiring with these gifted funds and all this money that they were essentially taking from customers, to be clear on that, that they wanted to ensure that that money in those properties would be shielded from a bankruptcy. And I'm just wondering, like, why, if they're so confident in this business, if they're so confident in their son, if they're so sure this is the future of finance, and I get it, you want to shield your personal property from a bankruptcy, but you just got gifted $10 million. You have to know this isn't exactly personal property, right? Like, you have to know your son is giving this to you. Your son is making money from the company. How is he making all of this money? You haven't really nailed that down yet. And you still are just letting this all transpire. Nobody was asking any questions is kind of what I'm getting to. But the questions they were asking were about, like, ensuring that they were shielded from any problems in the future. Yeah. And we should clarify the timeline a little bit here. There's a 2021 email exchange where FTX's general counsel wants to set up a meeting with their law firm to discuss how assets, including primary residence, can be structured to be bankruptcy remote. And Bankman quickly kind of responds in this email chain the next day and says it would be great, all else equal, if we could have the founders put money into property in the Bahamas and sent them a link to a description of an offshore trust structure in the Bahamas. He then discusses this with a lawyer in the Bahamas, another Stanford law professor, and his brother -in -law, and then ends up saying something we might use when we buy property in the Bahamas. And the reason I'm belaboring this point is because it happens, I think, about a year before they actually end up getting the house. And then, five months before they get the house, there's another thing that happens, and that's that they apply for residency in the Bahamas, permanent residency in the Bahamas. In order for them to get that, there's a $15 ,000 fee. That's also paid by FTX. And so I think what that kind of shows is this kind of series of planning that went into them eventually getting this mansion. They started discussing how to structure this about a year before, and I don't think they ended up using those trusts, at least not at the time of bankruptcy. They had already gotten their residency months before they got the property, and then they got the property. They wanted to benefit from this. There's no doubt about that. I mean, there is no doubt. I just want to be clear, and we're going to link to the very thorough protest article that goes over all of this, but it is very obvious. I think before we get to the crux of this, I first want to delve into this a little bit more. So Stanford yesterday decided that they were going to return all of the donated funds from this family, which amounted to $5 .5 million, which is a lot. I mean, I know that they get a shit, a metric shit ton of cash every year, but the idea that they're getting $5 .5 million in a single year from one family, one company, you know, essentially one family. That's how you get your name on a building and stuff like that. So they were donating a ton of money to this educational institution. All I want to say is that I think Stanford is disgusting. I think we see this in a bunch of these higher education, these private institutions, probably equally common in great public universities as well, but the ones that we hear about are like MIT or Harvard or Stanford accepting money from Jeffrey Epstein or accepting money from these guys, and then, oh, okay, you're returning it. Great. Well, you know why you're returning it? Because you got caught. That's why you're returning it. You're not returning it because you thought it was the right thing to do. Now that it's all coming out in these court documents, Stanford's giving the money back. They didn't do it one minute before that happened, though. Isn't that interesting? And I, you know, I think you should get into kind of the details of those donations, which there were many over this period, but like, oh, what a nasty, nasty way for a university to operate. I think the elite private colleges are at a special risk for kind of this because so much of their, like, existing structure is based around taking in cash and converting it to some vague elite authority. Speaking specifically about the donations from FTX to Stanford that appear to have been directed by Joseph Bankman, there was one that came from Paperbird directly to Stanford University. And this one was interesting because there was a lot of discussion about which entity to use. And what Bankman ends up saying is that he thought it should come from Paperbird, which was one of the entities that Sam Bankman -Fried owned that held most of the stock for FTX that investors were buying into. The corporate structure of FTX is a mind fuck. But this shows Bankman was aware of parts of the mind fuck. He says Paperbird can use the deduction. And when he discusses alternatives, he says we can have another entity loan Paperbird money, but that requires some paperwork. Eventually they get it all sorted out. FTX transfers money to Paperbird into a newly set up bank account, which immediately sends that money on to Stanford. There was another four million dollar donation to a Stanford fund for pandemic preparedness that he described as pretty much a no brainer. Bitcoin were transferred from Alameda Research's FTX account eventually. There was another series of donations where it was proposed that they give 1 .5 million from the FTX Foundation to Stanford College. However, the initial 500 ,000 for this came from an Alameda Research bank account, and the second 500 ,000 came from an FTX US bank account. There was another donation they did for a Stanford blockchain conference so they could sponsor it. That one was only 10k. But again, it kind of points towards how Bankman saw these entities as interchangeable. He said 10k is so little it doesn't really matter. So if we think that having FTX US is easier or safer for some reason, we should just do that. And what's most interesting is you talked about your name on a building. And there was a Stanford University employee who provided comment as part of this lawsuit. And this Stanford University employee apparently says that internally in Stanford, these donations were categorized as directed by the Bankman -Frieds. And like when they specifically got the big $4 million pandemic preparedness donation from Alameda, this person even reached out, should this one be categorized like the rest as from you all? Or is this one somehow different? And so yeah, I think that those donations kind of point towards how they were specifically using these commingled customer and client funds from across all these different entities in this self -promotional activity of giving these donations. Yep, there's more to where this money went, how much was spent, why they were in control of this. But I think the question that everybody wants to ask and is wondering about is how are they not being criminally charged with anything yet? And will they? I think we should hold off on that question for just a moment, because I want to talk about how Joseph Bankman also made sure other people he was related to and friends with got paid while he was in this position, because I think that's kind of fun. They talk about one example where he got a Stanford law student a free trip to the French Grand Prix tickets to the race so they could go and visit that. But I think the more interesting one was a hackathon that they had planned that was run by his sister. Bankman freed Sam's aunt. They hired her at a rate of $14 ,000 a month to prepare the FTX million -dollar hackathon and crypto summit held at the Miami Heat Arena, which was the one they put their name on briefly. They spent a total of $2 .3 million on this event, which was attended by 1 ,200 people. They were spending crazy amounts. They said she was authorized to spend like without a budget, whatever it was needed to get this event done. There was so much of this kind of like self -enrichment here that we'll get to your question as to how are they not being criminally charged. That's just grift. Yeah, obviously. The other person we need to talk about, of course, is Barbara. Barbara Freed, Sam Bankman Freed's mother. In her specific role, she, as you alluded to at the very beginning of this episode, described herself as her son's partner in crime of the non -criminal sort. And Sam made sure to sing her praises to his team, making known to her that he intended to rely on her direction regarding who to give to, how much to give to, and how it should be disclosed and told them that it would be good for them to follow her advice as well. And what seems really interesting is she seemed to have a great deal of control. The lawsuit even alleges she was able to unilaterally commit funds of Sam Bankman Freed's to her political action committee, Mind the Gap, meaning without Sam's authorization, she was able to take Sam's money donated in Sam's name to her political action committee, which is a great deal of trust. And even inside her own committee, when she had to talk about some of these donations, she would say things like, I don't know exactly what interconnected entity he sent the money from, but the business is real and revenue -generating, which again, I think, points towards kind of the interchangeability of these entities for these folks. What I think really gets interesting is Nishad Singh, who has already pled guilty for conspiracy to defraud the federal election committee, as well as a variety of other conspiracy charges. He was one of the people who appears to have served as effectively a straw -man donor for Sam Bankman Freed, and was advised in this process by Barbara Freed, Sam's mother. At one point when they were discussing donations to her organization Mind the Gap, and she suggested that, now that my connection to Sam is publicly known, because we don't want to create the impression that funding MTG is a family affair, as opposed to a collective effort by many people, including some mystery guy Nishad Singh, which is when she was suggesting that on their end, they would prefer if his name was the one that was donating to Mind the Gap instead of Sam Bankman Freed's. And similarly, she was worried about a lot of their political donations. There's a really telling one, where she's warning him in an email, And again, later, just the last one to really put kind of a cherry on top of her seeming knowledge of some of the criminal acts that Nishad Singh has pled guilty to. She said, And I think this, as well as some of the more specific tax advice that Bankman Freed was giving on FTX their specific finances and stuff like that, point towards potential knowledge of criminal acts. I tweeted out shortly after I read through this lawsuit, or as I was about halfway through reading this lawsuit, if I'm being honest, And as you alluded to previously, that is kind of what this feels like. It feels like these two law professors, who should have known better, had high -level knowledge of things that people have already pled guilty to, and were deeply involved in the business. Bankman specifically was even mentioned on an internal document as a member of the management of FTXUS, along with only a few other names. They had knowledge, they were inside the organization, and they had some amount of presence. One last thing that I think really hammers that home. When we went to consensus, and we talked about this in our episode that we did after that, Anthony Scaramucci was talking about his experiences in the lead -up to and aftermath of the FTX collapse. And one thing he said that seemed to be corroborated in the lawsuit is that Bankman was involved in them attempting to get the emergency funding. And as we said, and we shared the audio clip of Scaramucci saying it, Bankman apparently told Scaramucci, Anthony or intimated to him, that there was an asset liability mismatch at FTX. What happened to me is I was actually speaking in Sarasota, Florida. There was rumblings that day, I think it was November the 6th or something like that, or 7th. The Monday was the 7th. And then I got back to New York and I spoke to Sam's dad about the problem, and it was intimated to me that it was an asset liability mismatch, that they were leading redemptions and there were assets available, but they weren't necessarily liquid, and they needed time to get the liquidity, and they were looking for some rescue plans. And so at that time, I was a good citizen and a partner in the business. In fact, they owned a piece of my business. I was certainly trying to help them on their fundraising round.

A highlight from Adulthood: Na Scam

"If you are experiencing adulthood like I am currently, I'm very sure that once in a while you'd sit up in the middle of the night and ask yourself, what did I do wrong? No bibondi -bondi and it's so crazy because nobody wants you and we want to grow up so fast. We want to grow up so fast. We want to grow up so fast but we don't know that we are growing into a scam. A scam that is probably bigger than Money Heist. This podcast is going to be around about adulthood and I'll share tips on how I've been managing myself. I hope it helps. Follow me on adulthood not scam. Make I follow you and to enjoy. Hi guys, you're welcome to another episode of the Follow Me Yandt podcasts. My name is Jubal Adeoye and I am your host. If you're a new listener, thank you for tuning in, returning listeners. Thank you so much for your support on the last episode. If you're new here, please check out our last episode. It is very, very, very insightful and let's not forget to share this till we make this podcast a global thing. Yes. So today we'll be talking about how adulthood is a scam and yeah, that's not a joke. Adulthood is probably the biggest scam since Money Heist but we're looking at this from an angle of solutions. So we won't be talking much about all the shit you have seen while, you know, being an adult. So I am going to be talking about how I've been able to navigate through that and how I have been able to manage it to make it as painless as possible. It's practically impossible to make it painless, but we're trying. So number one is have a few good friends. I my call friends my village, they are my people, they are those people who I run to whenever I need help, whenever I need help with anything basically. So have your village, have people who genuinely look out for you, who genuinely care about you, who want to know, you know, if you're doing good. This doesn't just mean friends who you guys, you know, party together. You can have party friends, but please make sure that you have friends who look at you from a state of, I'm concerned about you, have a few good friends, then please be close to your family as much as possible. The eugenium relationships, I'm not saying you should be on the phone all the time with them. I hate calls too, but just try to make sure that when you call them, when you guys talk, you're asking about things that actually matter to them. Make sure that you know their interests. Don't be that person who wants to buy them a birthday gift that you don't know what they want. Please be as close to your family as much as possible. Stay away from toxicity, please. And don't forget this particular point, a lot of people will be waiting for it, but then you might be the toxic one that you don't know. So introspection is also one of the gifts that you should probably pray for, or you should probably, what's it called, develop. Try to see things from an objective point of view, always. Don't look at it from your biases. It's not easy, but you can do it. You can do it. You can do it. If you can write and tailor your scripts according to what your lecturer wants, definitely you can introspect. So please introspect. And then this leads us to the next point, which is be ready to learn, unlearn, and relearn. And I think there's one more to make it four of the learning process, but please, you're not too old to find out that you've been wrong about something. You're not too old to find out that you're not too old to start learning something new. That's it. So please don't be stagnant. That's a never ending cycle. And I know that you can be a witness because our parents do this a lot. Don't tell them I said so, but they do. And I mean, when they're wrong, they rarely ever admit it and that's wrong in itself. So when you're wrong, please admit it, let's change the cycle. Let's make it better. Let's not be, you know, the adults that we know now. So let's be the new kind of adults. Okay. So be ready to learn, to unlearn and relearn, and then make sure that you see this part that I'm about to say is the most important part of this podcast. And I'm not even kidding right now. If you've not been listening to the other four points, please, this is very important. Always have still, have some still in your house, have some with your pastor, have some at church, have some with your neighbors, have still everywhere. And I'm not even kidding. I don't mean this in a proverbial way. This is literal, like obey at a day. See always have it because it goes with bread, with rice, with you can even make jollof rice with steel. I'm telling you it will fried steel will make a very good jollof. Let's not go into that. That's not why I'm doing this. I'm just telling you that please, it is very important that you have steel because it will save your life in a way that you never thought it was possible. Please make sure you have steel. Protein is not necessary. Just have this steel first. Have steel. You can buy egg to this steel, you can buy some egg, but please have steel. And I've been saying this for like one minute now, so I'm very sure that it has registered in your subconscious to always fry steel, especially if you're staying alone. Fry a lot of steel and keep it somewhere. Keep it with your enemies, keep it with your friends, keep it with your parents, keep it every week. Just make sure that you are fortified, you are steely, fortified. Thank you. And don't forget to have fun. I don't do it as a way of sucking out the fun in everything. Have your own ritual. My ritual now is I make sure that every week I keep up with a couple of series. Bob had a visualizer part of it. It's a very, very funny rom -com that I enjoy. I watch All Americans, I watch The Blacklist, I watch, what's the other one, Bel Air. So please, and I know that these, they come out and I strictly, I have All American on my system now and once I end this recording, I'm going to see it. So have your own routine of fun. Have something that makes sense to you as an adult. Don't just be the boring adult who just wakes up, leaves, and then just dies. And then be close to God in any way you know you can. There's no man. Wow. Be close to God. The closer you get to him, I think that's the closer you'd get to him. So that's the only hack, be close to God. Don't rule him out. Yeah. So I think that's all. Yeah. I'm so proud. I think that's all. I'm such an adult. I'm sharing advice. Mommy, I made you proud. Yes. So that's all for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I love you guys. See you on the next episode, which is going to be deep. So prepare your mind guys. We are going, we're cutting in deep into the layers of your hearts. So have a fun time guys. Don't forget to share this to someone who is growing to the adulthood face like me. Love you. Bye. Hi, sweet listener. You've gotten to the end of the episode. Thank you so much for listening. Always have still, always have still, always have still, always have still, always have still. And remember to share this episode to your friends, your family who are going through the adulthood face. I love you so much. And I don't know what I'll do without you. Yes. Baby. Bye.

A highlight from Michael Saylor: Bitcoin to $5 Million is Inevitable | EP 824

"It's all going to zero against Bitcoin. It's going up for everyone. Bitcoin! You're against Bitcoin, you're against freedom. Yo! Welcome to Simba the Bitcoin Live, we're your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin revolution cover breaking news called dramatic warfare will be your guide through the separation of money and state today is September 14th 2023 another day in Bitcoin another day on the Bitcoin roller coaster they don't call the Bitcoin roller coaster for no reason there's ups and downs we hit 25k we're back to 26 ,697 but if you zoom out if you zoom out in the grand scheme of things if you believe in the meme 21 million divided by infinity or infinity divided by 21 million I think it is we all know we're early but there's something I want to talk about today specifically there was a very famous spaces that Michael Saylor did and I think he did it with some some legacy media people there's a huge spaces and there was three things that he said needed to happen in order for Bitcoin to 10x and then during that spaces he even said if these thing if these three things happen Bitcoin will inevitably hit five million dollars per coin now what were those three things first thing was the changing of the FASB rules right with the accounting the fair value accounting rules and that happened not too long ago we broke the news I wasn't there I had some swan duties that day but Opti and I think it was Rustin were holding it down so we covered that and then number two was large banks right I'm not talking about like small banks or you know these these Bitcoin crypto focused banks I'm talking about large banks offering institutional custody of Bitcoin of digital assets for their clients check that off that's happening you have banks all around the world whether it's Panko Santander the news that came out today which is I wanted to cover this is Deutsche Bank is applying for a license to custody digital assets for their customers and then there and the third thing which has been like the big news of this year is the BlackRock spot Bitcoin ETF or now I would even I wouldn't even call it the BlackRock just a Bitcoin spot ETF those are the three things that Michael Saylor said needed to happen in order for Bitcoin to just go parabolic into this five million you know etc etc and those things are basically already happening like the FASB check that off right that was a huge does a massive deal so check that off the list that doesn't start that doesn't start going into action until the year 2025 then you have so that's the FASB ruling then you have banks large banks cussing Bitcoin check that off the list as well really the only thing out of those three things is the BlackRock spot ETF or sorry the spot I keep saying BlackRock maybe it's a Freudian slip the spot Bitcoin ETF how long will Gary Gensler be able to delay this he got absolutely hammered in in Congress there was a hearing this week so yeah I mean this is pretty crazy and it's really interesting if you've been here for a while you know Opti and I are class of 2016 Opti's class of 2017 but it's the same epoch really you know one of the narratives that existed when Bitcoin was falling you know it fell from 20k back down to 3k and one of the coping narratives all the way down was the institutions are coming the institutions are coming the institutions are coming I think you could say without a doubt that the institutions are here you can't deny that now the thing is do the institutions have the necessary infrastructure to onboard on to Bitcoin and I think that's an open question but you can't deny that the institutions want exposure to Bitcoin that's undeniable right we broke the news the other day that BlackRock had a lot of micro strategy had a lot of exposure to public to publicly traded Bitcoin mining companies as well right so it's some very interesting stuff now here's the thing though right so yes this number go up whoop -dee -doo but remember the revolution is individuals taking back financial sovereignty by taking Bitcoin into self -custody so just because you're buying a Bitcoin spot ETF for BlackRock's Bitcoin spot ETF do Charles Schwab or Robin Hood or whatnot that that isn't real Bitcoin that's paper Bitcoin that's an IOU the only way that you get true real Bitcoin is by you know buying Bitcoin earning Bitcoin mining Bitcoin and taking that said Bitcoin into cold storage right and then preferably the step after that is stop trusting someone else's copy of the blockchain run your own run your own node the one I recommend personally because it's the one I use is start 9 they're freaking awesome so definitely check them out if you're interested in running a Bitcoin node but yeah it's a very interesting times that we're living in but uh you know I don't think I've ever been so bullish how you doing Opti and we're in the the simply Bitcoin merch today bro you're modeling I love it yeah yeah it's uh it's raining right now it's it's officially hoodie season so you're raining but you're inside yeah whatever I feel like wearing a hoodie today if it's nice it's comfy I'm wearing this all the time get yourself one at simply Bitcoin calm yeah man it's hey let your boy live for once geez yeah crazy you're not in uniform bro you you went from collared shirts to hoodies what happened you're regressing well suits coming soon I had a conversation with Chris yesterday I missed that episode man I love Chris shout out the coin shout out our boys over a Bitcoin mag but yeah crazy uh crazy developments and we really talked about it yesterday as well pretty pretty extensively on the show of how it is undeniable that the institutions want your Bitcoin there is so much institutional investment and there's just so much capital waiting on the sidelines for everyone for to get a shirt into Bitcoin you know like all the biggest asset managers well not all of them but many of the big asset managers of the world are looking to get exposure to Bitcoin we're seeing huge banks do the same thing and it just goes to show you that you guys are early and we are on the precipice of an amazing bull run as far as I'm concerned and now is the time to be stacking sats it's still what 26k so like we got the best opportunity ever and I know everyone is losing their mind because this bear market's been so long but this is where legends are made anyways on today's culture I saw this a couple tweets from Tom Luongo and if you guys aren't familiar with him he's a great I guess you call him like he is kind of low -key a gold bug and I know he's kind of maybe loosely understands Bitcoin but he created this meme in and I really wanted to touch on it today because it kind of changed my views on what we've been talking about we're always talking about you know the normies out there or in the not so nice way you know the sheeple out there and he coined this new phrase about like the masses comfortable are our wolves and I really want to cover this because I think it does change the framing and it's a little more positive view on what's going on in the world and we talk about it constantly that people need to feel pain and once they feel that pain and they wake up man shits gonna get really crazy and it really does feel like this is where we are right now so you know just prepare yourself it's it's you know are we on the precipice of a global recession who knows are we you know are we currently in a depression I don't know the official numbers are lying to us but we know that inflation is higher than they want and your purchasing power is going down the drain and I have these conversations with a bunch of my Bitcoin friends and we're all feeling the same thing it's like man dude things are getting more expensive and it's only a matter of time until people start to ask what the hell is going on right now and this is why we keep planting the seeds here on the show you know in personal conversations with people in real life and it's like we have built the foundation for people to protect themselves to get on the exit boat get on the safety net which is Bitcoin so get on the Bitcoin standard guys get on the Bitcoin standard that's right just get on the Bitcoin standard get on the life raft and you know you be watching the world around you doing doing its thing but you know that your future your family's future your wealth your time your energy your work is protected by the largest decentralized computing sorry I'm laughing at the chat you guys are wild breath the Bitcoin numbers is your Bitcoin in cold storage really secure is your seed phrase really secure stamped seeds do -it -yourself kit seven hundred seventy six Bitcoin capacity value a hundred and twenty seven million US dollars realized monetary inflation 1 .75 % the market capitalization of Bitcoin five hundred and nineteen billion dollars with a B Bitcoin versus gold market cap four point zero seven percent very very very nice all right good numbers overall you know I love my favorites that I always tell you guys this is the realized monetary inflation of Bitcoin 1 .75 % that number is going to continue to go down forever so it continues to take fiat currencies absolute school even if they get it to their targeted Holy Grail 2 % inflation you know it's not even gonna come close anyways I do have some ways you got my favorite number is block height cuz that number is going up forever Laura that that that number just it just makes an all -time high every ten minutes the matter what next block it's almost like a coin walk next block anyways here's a clip I have two clips for you guys here's a clip from SEC chair chair Gary Gensler and he said some interesting things at the hearing we're gonna play you some clips of this hearing as the days go by though so let's check out this clip and I have another one then we'll talk about it and help protect Americans from the crypto abuses that cost consumers billions if they were to live up to the investor protection built into their current laws it would help investors but right now unfortunately there's significant non -compliance and it's a field which is rife with fraud abuse and misconduct and help protect Americans from the so I I want a friend two things right I agree in a way and I agree in the sense that it is full of fraud it is full of abuse it is full of misconduct now the initial part and help protect Americans from the crypto abuses that cost consumers billions I'm gonna reframes that right from the crypto abuse that cost consumers billions fine you could say shit coins you could say this what about from the governmental inflationary abuse that cost people all around the world millions if not billions of dollars why is that never talked about and that brings me to one of Tucker's episodes that he did in Argentina he did an episode about a 10 -minute episode covering what's happening in Argentina he's gonna cover he's gonna interview Javier Maly Javier Maly is he is he's a hardcore Austrian economist libertarian he wants to end the central bank you know he wants to cut down on the administrative state all of that stuff he said some pretty crazy stuff not gonna lie Tucker's gonna interview him tomorrow but what was really interesting about Tucker's opening monologue which we're going to cover extensively tomorrow is he said the quiet part out loud the invade and inflation is deft politicians aren't productive the way that they raise money is through direct taxation but they could only do that for so long until people revolt so they do that through the hidden tax of inflation we must continue to chip away at this like you know peacefully of course but Chico chip away at this move the Overton window start get start getting people to ask the question what is money why does my money lose purchasing power is it necessary for my money to lose purchasing power that's when people are gonna start asking really big questions and remember they do not have a response to this anyways talking about shifting the Overton window here's Joe squawk five years ago you would have never have believed this we did have a a Bitcoiner who was a writer for Forbes and he got a bit upset when I said that the legacy corporate media changed their tune because of the black rock spot ETF and he said no that's not true I was working at Forbes from before okay I take his word for it he's a cable are news you trying to tell me that the interest from black rock to launch a spot ETF has not influenced their change of tune whatsoever I don't know about that anyways here's Joe squawk it's about a one -minute clip and then we'll talk about it and move on to crypto if you'd indulge me for a second because we always have these crypto conversations and there seems to be this thing happening I don't know Joe we were talking about $25 ,000 with Bitcoin meanwhile black rock and all these folks all the folks that we thought were never gonna do this are now doing it and yet it's not moving at all well it's moving today well I mean sure 26 this is 26 it was for when when we started saying it wasn't going anywhere 4 ,000 oh okay but so but the question is is this now a risk on a risk off thing what do you how do you even correlate this to what's happening with the Fed because for a long time used to talk about crypto in regard to the Fed so I think crypto settling as part of the ecosystem I think people have recognized it is not the new global currency people have also recognized not going to disappear tomorrow is becoming institutionalized and I think actually if I were a crypto person I think this maturation process is a good thing where it moves from day to day is I can't really comment on that I still think it's outperformed every asset one year five year and ten year I mean I think I think he's pretty jaded a little bit right like you know it's going to zero at 4 ,000 and mind you like Pete Russo does a great job doing this but like he goes back in time and finds like original posts of people which is why it's so important to zoom out when in doubt of people posting a Bitcoin isn't going anywhere and Bitcoin was at like $100 Bitcoin was at like $200 at the time right so like when in doubt zoom out obviously Joe is completely converted he's like why have we been talking about the short -term volatility when we started when we started covering this it was literally at $4 ,000 it's at 26 ,000 at the at the you know depths of bear market he gets it I mean and this is actually one of the things that has helped me orange pill as many people as possible it hasn't been me saying the bitcoins better money it hasn't been me saying like oh look you know separate money from state hasn't been me saying you know it's a deflationary currency blah blah blah blah blah blah you know it's been the biggest converter of people you plant the seed you say Bitcoin right they ignore you for like a couple of years and two three years later pass number goes up and all of a sudden you get that text from that friend that you haven't talked to you in a long time and he's like hey about that Bitcoin thing ng you is the biggest converter of people it is the biggest orange pillar in my opinion is the most effective way and clear you could see that with Joe right he was like hmm yeah I mean we started covering this was at 4k I don't know why you're talking about the short -term volatility what the hell's wrong with you anyways why are you pulling that up Opti oh it's from wine it's from wine anyways why what's why you know all the disgrace you've ever done and all the controlling calling me why it might be the worst no I'm just trolling love you wine anyways first and foremost you know shout out the Joe Kernen absolutely love to see him just constantly battle the corporate BS FUD around Bitcoin and and I say this all the time you know like number go up love it or hate it is the fundamental thing driving all a Bitcoin adoption there's that and then on the negative side all of the crazy stuff coming out from you know the bureaucrats out there we covered the g20 stuff where they're trying to roll out a digital ID CBDC central bank digital control mechanisms and these two things together are in my opinion the driving forces for Bitcoin adoption it's like you we say it all the time and and the memes been catching on Nico I don't know if you've been seeing it on Twitter but Bitcoin is slavery it's starting to catch on and people are starting to notice that it's not even hyperbolic anymore but anyways starting with the first video I totally agree with that congressman or whatever like crypto is full of fraud like what a hundred percent agree hence why we're Bitcoin only like there's Bitcoin and there's shit coin and it triggered the thought in my mind about I think I brought it up last week it was the idea I forget what video it was but we played something on in the numbers about the the scene versus the unseen consequences of economics and it's very clearly visible the scene consequences of crypto scams and it very easily noticed and you know it's always rolled out as like the detriment to the whole Bitcoin industry and those are the scene consequences obviously there's been a lot of people getting rug pulled getting you know losing their their life savings because of shit coin scams and so it's very easily an emotional thing you can roll out so people are like ah let's protect the little guy but as we've going to cover and I really thought you were gonna play that Tucker Carlson video that you put on your Twitter I'm sick dude I mean so I was divided I was divided about what I wanted to make the show I was like I was like are we gonna make it about Tucker are we gonna make this about the sailor I think the sailor thing I was I was much more excited about the sailor thing it's a little little thing came out in my head I'm like holy cow the three things that Michael sailor said needed to happen for Bitcoin to hit five million all of those things have happened they've all happened right so I was like we have to cover this we will cover Tucker tomorrow's really actually made a thumbnail for everything it was awesome but I guess I guess you know we'll put we'll put a pin on that thought but tomorrow remember we're gonna be talking about the unseen consequences of money printing and that always gets obfuscated it always gets lost on people because it's not like a linear connection you know like you you gotta you know there's some nuance to this and most people can't think past like 20 seconds you know ADHD or whatever like we're all being inundated with so much dopamine from from social media that we either tune out or it just like it doesn't seem like it's important and and I can see people in the chat saying the same thing that we always hear is like once you start talking about Bitcoin once you say the B word people instantly tune out and it's only a matter of time until people wake up to what's going on here so you know plant those Bitcoin fundamentals into people's minds without using the B word usually helps and and goes a long way and then you find like hey you know have you heard about Bitcoin here's the pill take it but yeah man it just it just goes to show that the world is waking up and every metric that I'm seeing is pointing towards the fact that I think in 2025 more people are going to wake up to the scam that is Fiat and of course the safety boat that is Bitcoin and hey we're here for it so I'm I am super excited yes yes hold on hold on Arthur you can buy our merch with Bitcoin if you so want to yeah exactly go and go click scan the QR code it'll take you directly to the website and you could you could pay you pay in Bitcoin I think a lot I think wine set up the lightning yeah yeah yeah we got you got we got you guys back we got you guys rep some simply Bitcoin merch anyways so yeah man it's a really really exciting stuff alright guys let's jump into the news we got a lot to cover today before we get into news actually right now we are currently sitting pretty at 70 likes help us maintain our streak let's break a hundred likes within the out first hour of the live stream so if you're enjoying the show make sure to smash that like but it smashes mess mess wait wait wait can we do a legacy smash the like button Nico something like that anyways guys let's get to the news the daily news I want to give a shout out to our sponsor foundation devices it's self -custody done right they built a premium grade hardware wallet called passport right here in the u .s.

A highlight from What is DeFi in Crypto? Decentralized Finance Explained! (Ultimate Beginners Guide on DeFi)

"What is DeFi? DeFi is the trendy shortened version of the term decentralized finance. And to better understand what decentralized finance is, we will compare it with centralized finance, or the not so trendy CFI for short. So the word finance in these concepts simply refers to the financial industry at large, while decentralized and centralized describe the nature of its foundation and how it works. Currently, the entire traditional global financial system is centralized. So centralized finance is just how financial systems work now and how they have worked in the past few decades. And as we can all see, especially in recent times, the CFI or centralized finance foundation is severely outdated and highly manipulated, making it rot with costly fees and efficiencies, deception, fraud, and corruption, all while being vastly inaccessible to most people living on the planet. Maybe more for the better than worse, who really knows with all this inflation, devaluation of fiat currencies and waves of bank failures. Luckily, the leaps and bounds we've made in the technological realm this past decade have allowed for the development and emergence of a new decentralized financial foundation. So although DeFi stands for the term decentralized finance, the word DeFi is used colloquially to describe the movement or crusade towards a low cost, fast, efficient, trustworthy, and completely transparent global financial ecosystem, one that operates without any central authority and is highly accessible to everyone around the world with just a smartphone and internet connection. Cool. Now that we know DeFi, conversationally and in the media, alludes to a paradigm shift in the global financial industry, let's talk about the underlying technology that has millennials, Gen Xers, and some boomers alike actually bullish on DeFi becoming a reality and widely adopted in the not so distant future, DeFi's foundation, blockchain. So how can the backbone of a new global financial system conceivably harbor all of these attributes like efficiency, transparency, and accessibility that have been completely absent from the current system we've known and been subjected to our entire lives? Ethical politicians, altruistic governments, philanthropic financial institutions, decent hardworking Gen Zs? Nope. Oxymoronic quips will not be our saving grace, neither will leaving matters in the hands of actual genuinely ethical and altruistic people, instead, the new financial era will operate from the very place numbers, mathematics, physics, and computer science were derived, the ever enduring fabric of the universe. Traditionally, banks, accountants, bookkeepers, and governments have managed the financial system. However, in the coming years, DeFi will allow the entire financial foundation to operate purely from principles of mathematics and computer science using what's known as blockchain technology. Blockchain's recording and storage protocols make it such that once new data is verified, it is unmodifiable, it's distributed across a vast network of computers around the world so it's hard to destroy, and no one person or entity controls the data or network, creating a transparent environment. And blockchain technology is the cornerstone of decentralized finance, as it's what makes the decentralization aspect of DeFi possible. So without losing sight of this video, if you would like to learn more about the details of Ethereum's blockchain foundation, check out this video guide by clicking on the link above. Amazing! Now let's talk about the technological layers built on top of its blockchain base from which DeFi was born. Hello, I'm Crypto Casey and in this video we are going to explore what DeFi is, how its ecosystem works, its technological architecture, and why it could become the foundation of the future global financial system. Let's hit it! Let's start off with the first step. Trade cryptocurrencies tax -free within an Individual Retirement Account or IRA with iTrust Capital. Practice finding altcoin gems before they pump to prepare for the next face -melting altcoin season with Morales Money, and invest in your very own cold storage hardware wallet like Tangem Wallet. It's the size of a credit card, multi -currency, multi -chain and it's by far the easiest crypto wallet to set up and use on the market right now. Note that Tangem has been swamped so orders have been backed up for a few weeks so pre -order one to get your spot in line for the next batch of wallets today. Scroll down and use links below to access the correct and official sites as well as redeem any special offers they have for us. Sweet. So Bitcoin and Ethereum are both use cases of blockchain technology with different purposes. Bitcoin is simply a digital currency that people can use as a form of payment to send to and from each other or hold as a store of value while Ethereum is basically a programmable blockchain that people can build software on to create valuable products and services. And due to decentralized properties of blockchain technology, the software people can build on Ethereum are called Decentralized Applications or DApps for short. And the nature and potential of these decentralized applications or DApps inspired the idea and desire for a crusade towards Decentralized Finance or DeFi back in November of 2018. The DeFi movement aims to transform the current financial system into a more transparent and So let's talk about how all of these decentralized financial applications are being developed and working together to make the DeFi era become a reality sooner than we think. DeFi's Financial Stack There are five main components of DeFi's financial stack or framework that lend to its potential usability and mass adoption in the global financial realm. Let's briefly go over these five components together. Component 1. Stable Coins So each cryptocurrency has a different function or utility. And types of cryptocurrencies that peg their price to something with stable pricing like the US dollar are known as stable coins. For example DAI or D -A -I is a token that is pegged to the US dollar in that it maintains the same value as the US dollar. This makes the token price stable, staying at nearly $1 per DAI, which is why tokens with this function are called stable coins. Stable coins were designed to bridge the gap between fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies and decrease also the volatility associated with holding those cryptocurrencies by allowing people with the token to hold an amount of cryptocurrency with less price fluctuation. For example when you look at the price of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ethereum, you will see how their prices are constantly in flux. One minute bitcoin can be worth $30 ,000 and the next it can be worth $27 ,000. On the other hand with DAI you can hold $10 ,000 worth of the cryptocurrency and minute to the US dollar and remain relatively unchanged, which gives stable coins like DAI a lot of utility in the DeFi space. So as you can see stable coins are an important building block in the DeFi financial system as it ensures the stability of value in the market.

A highlight from UX Design with LLMs, with Braden Ream, CEO, Voiceflow

"All right. Hello, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Welcome to VUX World. I was going to say, all right, all right, all right there. So I've kind of been slipping into and someone pointed out that it's a Matthew McConaughey quote. And so for some reason I just slip in. All right, all right, all right. Hello, welcome. But hello and welcome to VUX World. Today you'll notice I am wearing my trusty Voiceflow cap because is today Voiceflow CEO Braden Ream's third appearance on VUX World. We go way back and today is going to be an epic conversation. We're going to be discussing large language models and the future of conversation design and the future of AI application design and the future of Voiceflow. I'm looking forward to that coming up in just one minute. But before that, I need to give a shout out to our presenting sponsor today, Tideo. Tideo is a conversational AI platform that specializes in catering and providing for small to medium sized retailers. So if you are a retailer, maybe you're running on something like Spotify, maybe you're running on something else, and you want to look at ways in which you can utilize artificial intelligence, then you should check out Tideo. It's got a live chat platform plus conversational AI capabilities. It's got a lot of pre -built intents, pre -built conversations around order check -in, product availability, shipping status, returns, all that kind of stuff. And it is answering somewhere, what is the figure? It's four out of five customer questions it's answering successfully. So if you want to benefit from artificial intelligence, but you don't want to put in a whole load of groundwork, time and effort, and you want to get to market a little bit faster, then you should check out Tideo. That is Tideo, T -I -D -I -O .com forward slash V -U -X. Thank you, Tideo, for partnering and sponsoring V -U -X World. Now the other thing we definitely need to discuss is, it's coming around so thick and fast, I can't believe how fast it's coming around. It is the Voice and AI Summit in September. It's at the beginning of September from the 7th, sorry, from the 6th through the 8th, and it is going to be absolutely immense. We are going to be in Washington, D .C. for the Voice and AI Summit. For those of you who are familiar with the Voice Summit, you'll be familiar with the event. It's been slightly rebranded, it's now focusing more on generative AI, large language models, that kind of stuff. Last year we had a track there, we had a stage, it was absolutely immense. We were focusing on enterprise application of AI, and today, not today, but in two weeks' time, we'll be doing the exact same thing. The V -U -X stage will be back and we'll be looking at how large enterprises, including some large banks, including some big insurance providers, including some big healthcare companies, how are they utilizing this emerging technology in the enterprise today? And if you were to do something similar, how can you do that? Effectively, responsibly, and with a high degree of quality. Now, speaking, you can go to voiceand .ai, the website is, and you can get your tickets to find out more there. So speaking about utilizing large language models effectively, let's welcome on today's guest, Braden Rehm. Voiceflow have just raised another round of funding, another $15 million to put into growing and scaling the platform, and so I'm delighted for Braden to join me for the third time on V -U -X World. Welcome. Well, welcome myself. Yeah, excited to be back, third time. Wow, Patrick. And now I'm wearing the Voiceflow hat, which I was lovingly given at UNPERS in July. Thank you for partnering with us for that event. It was absolutely fantastic to see you and the team over here in the UK, and to support the first in -person conversation design conference in the world, which was absolutely fantastic. And now I owe you one of these for your hat trick. Your third appearance on V -U -X World gets you the yellow V -U -X cap. Very exclusive merch, this, Braden. So I'll be bringing this across the pond to Washington to present to you at the Voice and AI Summit. So there you go. Love it. Yeah, no, it was an awesome conference. Thank you for putting on UNPERS. We're excited to be back next year. Definitely, definitely. It was really good, actually. I don't want to overly plug our own events and stuff like that, but it did have a very nice communal feel about it. It was really great content, good vibes, good afterparties, which are also very important. And yeah, looking forward to it. Can't wait to have you along next year. We have some people tuning in. We've got Paul Cutzinger. Shout out to Paul. He says, hello, party people. Jose Burgos, how are you from Austin, Texas? Hello, how are you from Austin? There you go. Hi from Portugal. Elson, welcome from Portugal. We are truly global -ridden right now.

"Welcome to Simply Bitcoin Live, we're your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin Revolution code breaking news called Traumatic Warfare. We will be your guide through the separation of money and state. El Salvador stays winning breaking tweets from Bloomberg Quote El Salvador president Naim Bukele scared off Wall Street by embracing Bitcoin Two years later the bond rally he's overseeing is proving too lucrative to resist It's almost as if we told you so It's almost as if bitcoins incentives stay winning. Do you remember what the IMF said? What happened when El Salvador embraced a Bitcoin standard? Remember what they said it's gonna cause Financial mayhem it was gonna be horrible for the people of El Salvador boy, oh boy were they proven wrong and Remember what the IMF did in Argentina? They gave Argentina bail up a part of that part of the conditions of the bailout was that the Argentine government had to De -incentivize the adoption of Bitcoin in the country So it looks like El Salvador who didn't listen to the IMF is prospering and it looks like Argentina The government of Argentina better said who did listen to the IMF It's not doing so hot with that hundred plus percent inflation It's almost as if the IMF is not doing good by these countries maybe anyways, I Want to bring up my legendary co -host always optimistic. How you doing? I'm doing wonderful man as Roman said in the chat. It's it seems like ramen is on the menu tonight We haven't got to the numbers yet, but it looks like we got a dip So, hey guys now might be the time to be stacking who knows how much lower it goes, but man It's so fun being a Bitcoiner. This is gonna be a good one. It's gonna be good What are we gonna cover during the culture? Oh, yeah culture. I am just gonna double down I probably said this so many times on the show But people still seem to want to complicate things in regards to what's the best Bitcoin strategy and you know I'm gonna just do a little Opti soapbox today So hey, you know forgive me beforehand you already know what's coming But I want to simplify things for people on and I have a few friends tweets here That we're gonna help me illustrate and elaborate on this point because we're all coming to the same conclusion guys You know stay humble stacks at stay solvent This is the way it's so simple, but people like to complicate things because you know in the Fiat world that we live in Complex solutions Seem to be everyone's favorite thing to be doing and it's very simple guys simplify your life and and your life will improve And that's what we're all here to do is improve our lives moving forward and live a better life and Bitcoin allows this for us So I'm gonna do one of those things 100 % 100 % guys simply Bitcoin Simply Bitcoin goes live Monday through Friday at 12 15 p .m. I like that though. Anyways guys no more delay. Let's jump straight into the show We have a lot to talk about today. Let's check it out The Bitcoin numbers is your Bitcoin in cold storage really secure is your seed phrase Really secure stamp seeds do -it -yourself kit has everything you need to hammer your seed words into commercial grade Titanium plates instead of just writing them on paper. That's exactly why you should secure your Bitcoin wallet backup seed words on this one of the strongest metals on planet earth Titanium scan the QR code on your screen right now It'll take you directly to the stamp seed website and you can use promo code simply to get a 15 % discount Anything on their website at the time of recording the Bitcoin price is twenty seven thousand seven hundred seventy five That's per dollar three thousand six hundred block height eight hundred three thousand six hundred forty five block height blocks to have a thirty six thousand three hundred fifty five having estimate April 20th 2024 total lightning network capacity four thousand six hundred sixty one Bitcoin capacity value 129 million US dollars realized monetary inflation continuing to take fiat currencies to absolute school 1 .76 percent market capitalization five hundred and forty billion dollars Bitcoin verse Bitcoin verse gold market cap four point two four percent and That number will continue to rise because Bitcoin has absolute scarcity and nothing in the world does Including gold believe it or not. Anyways, I want to talk about this so It's interesting The song went viral and it's Richmond north of Richmond and we're actually going to talk about that today And if you take a look at the Wikipedia article it says that some of the Again, I'm not gonna touch on any of the culture or political issues, but I want to this is a Bitcoin show after all So I'm going to talk about inflation, right? And also high taxes not from the direct taxation, but from the hidden tax of inflation, right? And they say the songs lyrics around around common right -wing talking points such as inflation Like you guys know the deal here at simply Bitcoin. We don't lean left. We don't mean right Bitcoin is inherently apolitical We played you a video of Andreas Antonopoulos and he was making the case as to why that is I just find it interesting how you know and this is exactly why we stay from politics By the way, because I believe that Fiat governments really have this divide and conquer strategy You know where they pit The political left against the political rights and whoever part would it whichever parties in power the other party that's not in power Blames all of everyone's economic hardships on the party who's in power and then it's like this kind of revolving door But regardless of what power what parties in power the issue remains the same they print a lot of money and that devalues everyone's money who's holding this holding that money and It affects the lower and middle classes Disproportionately because they don't have the means to save in assets Therefore when they print money and the value of those assets rise the lower and middle classes don't benefit from that That's why you hear the the the the same thing over and over again the rich get richer the poor get poorer That's not because capitalism is broken. The free market is broken. That is literally because the money is a wealth redistribution Mechanism so again, like I this is you know, this is like smoke and mirrors like it's like don't pay attention to inflation That's a right -wing talking point, you know, forget about it And that's not only simply Bitcoin saying this we have Walker Walker America is part of the crypto couple very talented content creators and He goes on to say if you truly believe inflation is a right -wing talking point You might want to ask yourself why the other political party is not concerned with these things, right and I Disagree with that in the sense because I think that regardless of what side of the aisle you are in I think it really matters to you if your money is devaluing like if you're purchasing power is decreasing I don't think that is a you know, that is a I don't think that that goes with with a certain Ideology or political belief I truly believe that this is just a divide -and -conquer type of strategy And honestly this song really hit a nerve with people And the reason it really hit a nerve with people is because and the only reason it really hurt a nerve with people The only reason things go viral whether it's a tweet or whether it's a meme is because it resonates with other people People are thinking something very similar and the piece of content that you made whether that's a piece of music Whether that's a meme whether that's text like like a tweet Or a post now that a text .com the only reason it does it performs well is because it's resonating with other people people are Feeling that emotion people are understanding that then this is a song that really resonated with me And I'm sure that it resonated with a lot of you guys I actually want to play the first minute of the song So we can kind of react to it and take a look at the wording and also Remember what I said about the lower and middle classes and how inflation right is really really Hurting them the most inflation is theft inflation is the hidden tax and it affects everybody whether you lean Ideologically to the left or you lean ideologically to the right.

"Yo, what's up, everyone? I have Jose from Delphi back here on the show. If you watch part one, you guys would know today we are going to be discussing more of the degen Altcoin stuff going into interesting topics like, you know, roll bit, gamble fight, trading bots, uni bot, all that sort of stuff as well as some of Jose's topics. So welcome back, although it's only been one minute in the real world and let's kick it off. So thesis first I wanted to get your opinion on was this tweet that you did. You said over a long enough timeline, all centralized exchanges will fade into irrelevance and become glorified on the slash off ramps. Pretty strong words, actually. You said the vast majority of trading activity will happen on DEXs, overzealous regulators will just accelerate this transition. Do you want to elaborate a bit on that tweet? Yeah, like I, yeah, I think the future is, at the very least, like non -custodial exchanges. So where you like similar to do IDX or Vertex, where you might have an off -chain order book, but the trading is non -custodial. It's just kind of like, I think, inevitable. It'll take a while for both the tech to get there and then the trust in the tech to get there, right? But yeah, I think it's inevitable because it's like a better system. Like you don't need to give, there's no reason why an exchange should have custody over your assets in order to allow you to trade there, right? Like if you can trade according to rules defined in smart contracts, then like there's really no need to give up custody of your assets. So that applies to like derivatives and spot. So I think, and then also from a regulatory perspective, I just think that regulators are gonna be kind of going after centralized exchange. Centralized exchanges are like one of the easiest places for regulators to go after, right? They have a lot of money. And as we've seen with Binance and then Bitrex and these kinds of enforcement letters, like I just think it's gonna be like the biggest targets that the regulators go after. And in doing so, they end up pushing people more and more towards like decentralized exchanges. And then I think you're gonna have on and off ramps and like crypto native neo banks, right? That serve as the connection point between fiat and the crypto world where you can go on and off. But then in terms of like your trading venues and stuff, I think the most successful ones will be decentralized in future. And I think prices probably will. You mentioned decentralized, sorry, you mentioned centralized regulation. Do you worry about DeFi regulation as well? I know it's hard to regulate, but like, yeah, is there some sort of future where things are just like flat out IP band, I guess, in like multiple jurisdictions for DeFi? Yeah, I think DeFi is much harder, like properly built DeFi is much harder to regulate in that way, right? Like if you build, and it depends exactly how things are built, but like, I think if I built the right way, there is no one you can subpoena to shut it down, right? Like there's not like a Binance you can go after and say, hey, you've been serving like Hamas or whoever they were, whoever they were laundering money for. You guys need to stop doing that immediately. And it's like, well, if it's a smart contract and you've handed over the keys to governance, then it's like, if you want me to stop, you have to make a governance proposal. Like the SEC would have to propose to the Dow that they stopped doing whatever they want to do. It's really the only way. That's pretty funny to think about. Gary gets all like clicking except on his menopause. Yeah, exactly. I mean, that's the end game of well -designed DeFi, I think. So I think that the kind of weak link there still is like the front end and to some extent, like the backend, but I think there are solutions coming up for that too. Like Arbit is super interesting, but I think even absent Arbit, like stuff like Liquidy just makes it like, so Liquidy's model for those who aren't familiar, it provides like a fee at the smart contract level to front end operators, right? So you can stand up a front end and you get paid per, I think in their case, it's part of the interest for standing up a front end and serving users. And I think every exchange or decentralized exchange will eventually like adopt a similar model where, and you can also like open source your front end, right? And dockerize it and make it very easy for anyone to deploy. And at that point, it becomes like as hard to stop as Tor. You have these smart contracts running permissionlessly on the blockchain. And then you have a bunch of people all around the world running front ends for it and like a free market, basically of people being paid fees to do that. And so I think like, yeah, properly built DeFi is both very hard to regulate practically and also doesn't fit into regulatory like definitions and like, and this, yeah, like the kind of principles that regulations exist for.

A highlight from How To Make Millions In Crypto Even When Price Is Boring!

"What is going on everybody? Welcome back to the channel. My name is Frankie Candles and in this video I want to talk about how you can make a ton of money in crypto without waiting for the bull run We're talking crypto gains regardless of price action if that sounds good to you hit that like button subscribe to the channel and Watch until the very end of this video because I've got the sauce on YTA changes everything when it comes to crypto trading Let's get into it This Is the number one trick in predicting markets I'm gonna give it to you here in the first minute of this video So here it is technical analysis is based on probabilities at any time We're looking at the charts. It can absolutely be said that the next move could go in either direction It's that dreaded saying it could go up it could go down that nobody wants to hear but that's because they're not hearing it correctly Ta is about collecting information and deciding what is most likely going to happen next That's what I'm teaching over on the Frankie candles YouTube channel and the candle mafia is taking it all the way to the bank So before we go any further, make sure you hit that subscribe button smash the like and click that notification bell So let's get into why probability is so important and how you can use it to make money to do that We've got a hit rewind and revisit some of the times when the market could have gone either way and ta gave us a map When we were in uncharted waters, the first stop on our trip back to the future of crypto is April of 2022 Bitcoin just had a huge double top that took six months to complete We got to almost $60 ,000 the first time and then 69 at the second top on November 8 2021 The Grinch stole some of our crypto gains in December and by April Everyone was wondering when the bull market was going to restart Prices had cooled off to 40k and a lot of people wanted to see a moonshot to at least $100 ,000 many people were calling for that number on YouTube and crypto news and even in the mainstream media expert predictions mostly agreed that $100 ,000 would be the top for Bitcoin and I know I wanted to believe it as well But one thing was holding me back and I'll tell you about that in a second crypto would capture the attention and investment capital of the masses it seemed Unstoppable like maybe the four -year cycle was gonna break and we'd see a super cycle for Bitcoin it seemed possible that if Bitcoin regained momentum it could get to a hundred K or even smash through that to $300 ,000 some were even calling for a million but guys in all this positive sentiment there was something that caused me to go against the grain and say what no one wanted to believe at the time and that was The bear market may be coming up sooner than we thought the reason for me thinking this was that I spotted a blood diamond Starting to pop up on the weekly timeframe for Bitcoin now If you don't know what a blood diamond is Simply put it's just a very bearish signal and when you have a bear signal like that on a high timeframe like the weekly it Could be catastrophic from super cycle dreams to bear market dread. I can't say my opinion was very popular at the time I got absolutely Roasted in the comments But let's go back and define what a super cycle is and why everyone thought it would happen Bull and bear markets are written into the Bitcoin code They're there to catalyze the price making sure we don't get too bored and that the value increases over time That's how incentives to secure the network keep going and ultimately how Bitcoin stays alive as you know The bull market is triggered by the Bitcoin having when block rewards are slashed and there's a supply shock less Bitcoin becoming newly available makes it harder to get and Price only has one place to go and that is up a super cycle in Bitcoin would mean skipping the bear market Entirely and a lot of people were calling for that in April of 2022 when it looked like we were getting just a pullback And there have been super cycles in things like global commodities coin desks crypto news roundup for April 21st 2022 was talking about faster mainstream crypto adoption Spearheaded by German institutions and bullish news of bitcoins three -day price rally in April of 2022 people were googling things Like what crypto will soar in 2022 or what's the next crypto to explode in 2022 in? Retrospect the answer to all of those questions were none of them But at the time everyone felt mega bullish and like I said before I would have loved to see a super cycle to all that Positive sentiment and investor attention and crypto was the bull case the maybe it goes up half of the argument But the blood diamond showed me that even though everyone was so bullish It could actually go down low enough even to start the bear market And this is exactly what I was talking about on the live stream at the time when I was getting absolutely roasted That's when I started telling everyone Hey I know we've got Tom Brady headlining FTX Snoop Dogg is buying up NFTs and a board eight yacht club hit an all -time high Floor price of 128th on April 30th, but there's a pretty good chance that we could go down That's the thing with ta Monkey pictures were the same price as a two -story house couldn't have really gotten more bullish than that And sure we could have gone up from there But the ta was pointing to a Molotov cocktail coming our way of interest rate hikes from the Fed the Luna collapse followed by FTX Three hours capital Celsius and the whole gamut of insolvent exchanges and lending platforms I say this a lot in ta show me the charts and I'll tell you the news Although we didn't know what was next the chart showed us something might be brewing this happened again when FTX collapsed in November of 2022 but this time we were getting the signal in the opposite direction It was a total shock After all, it was a crypto company that seemed too big to fail and when it did everybody expected lower lows Don't forget FTX imploded after Luna collapsed Celsius froze withdrawals and exchanges were becoming insolvent Crypto had been hurt so badly already and it seemed like this news would push the price lower and a lot of people were looking At price targets such as 10k, which by the way, many people are still forecasting Once again, though the charts gave me the contradictory indication It looked like there was a possibility that we could be forming something called a bullish divergence on the weekly time frame Which a lot of times could mark the bottom if you're interested in how to spot these on the chart So you could take advantage of this stuff as well. Check out my youtube channel Frankie candles now This signal gave us the indication that price might want to start back in the upward direction It almost didn't make sense FTX owned a lot of digital asset and was connected to a lot of crypto projects and companies So why wouldn't it take crypto prices down with it? But the technicals were strong and I had to call something that no one expected not only could we go up but this could Potentially be the bottom of the bear market that was around when prices were at about seventeen thousand dollars Every good technical analyst will give a bull case and a bear case Reasons that price could go up or could go down the trick is really looking at the bear case and the bull case and then deciding what the more likely outcome is and going with a Trade plan that gives us the best shot at a win and that's how the candle mafia stays on top Which by the way, if you guys aren't a part of the candle mafia Don't forget to drop a sub on my channel Frankie candles. And with all that being said guys, that's all the time I got for this video.

Life Has a Rhythm and That Rhythm Is Held by Your BREATH

"I was asked over the weekend that led to a whole experience. So a close friend of mine asked me a question, what does sad feel like? And I asked him, well, what do you think that feels like? He answered, I don't know. This is why I'm asking you. I think I'm sad. Yeah. And I then asked, well, what other emotions do you feel? Do you feel anger? Do you feel resentment? Do you feel frustration? And he said, yeah, something like that. Now, get, we had just smoked a joint. So I told him that that was a great idea. Get up, let's go. We're going to process this energy. And he was like, wait, what, what do you mean? What are you talking about? And so I'm like, we're going to go punch the punching bag. Right. And at first he was hesitant. He's like, what do you mean? We don't have gloves. What do you mean? What, what, why? But he finally got up and we went to the local gym, which was right there in the same building. And again, like I said, no gloves, no wraps. We were just going to punch for two minutes and easy piece, easy peasy, right. At an easy pace. So I went first and I've learned right to use my breathing. So I use the breath of fire, which kind of is like, right. And so I use the breath of fire technique to put rhythm into my punches. And for a solid two minutes, I was able to keep a constant pattern and complete the two minutes. Right. It was his turn. Now he was a bit intimidated of having to do two minutes, but he did it. So started a timer and he was off. Now at first I noticed he was, he was, he was a bit uncoordinated. Yes. But eventually got into a pattern into flow and he was able to keep it. Yes. Now, second round. Now I want you to break hell on that bag is what I told him. I want you to connect to your anger, your frustration, your lack of clarity, connect to your sadness, connect, breathe, and then fucking impact. Yes. I went first to the, by example, to show and I released, man. It had been a while since I had done the exercise and this is for myself. Right. And I always love coming back to this exercise. So, uh, we put the timer on for a minute and I went, I went on it. I went the solid one minute, full intensity, intensity, full intensity doing exactly what I always do. I breathe, I shout and my animal comes out and I fucking destroy that punching bag. I let all my emotion out. And yet once that timer goes off and that timer is done, I pull back. I recenter. I focus on my deep breaths, moving that energy across my field, expanding my magnetic field, bending the ether with my energy, or at least I'd like to believe so, right? I like to believe in that, especially in those moments. I'm like Dragon Ball Z. I'm like, I'm like Goku. Anyway, once I went, it was his turn. And so I gave, I did my best to model, right? Full expression. And then I started the timer and then he was off. And as he went at it, I reminded him of his anger, of his frustration, of his sadness. I reminded him to let it out. I shouted, giving him permission to shout. He shouted and he gave his anger and frustration, a sound, the vibration. He punched, he kicked, he elbowed. He did everything in his power to transfer that energy onto that punching bag, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, times up. And he was having a hard time breathing. He was literally on the verge of throwing up. And that's when I helped him breathe. And slowly breath by breath, he started to calm his heartbeat. And once he stabilized his breath, we were done for the night. Now let's go debrief. How do you feel to which he answered? I now understand breathing, right? He tells me the first round I saw you breathe and keep a rhythm. I had never considered to synchronize my breathing to my punching. So it took a while to get a hang of it. But once I did, I fell into this trance. And in that moment, I looked over to you realizing what you were trying to have us do at the retreat. Life has a rhythm, and that rhythm is held by your breath. Breathing dictates how you fight. Breathing dictates how you fuck. Breathing dictates how you walk and how you handle life. Boom. That was beautiful.

Is Ron DeSantis' Campaign in Crisis? New, Viral Ad Says "No!"

"Republicans are sounding the alarm over Ron DeSantis sagging campaign. Yes. Believe it or not. Questions surrounding Florida governor Ron DeSantis presidential campaign strategy are multiplying as he continues to trail former president Trump in the polls nearly a month after his highly anticipated campaign launch in a sign of just how concerned some of the governor's allies are. The spokesperson for a pro DeSantis pack never backed down recently referred to Trump as the runaway front runner in the primary and said DeSantis faces an uphill battle. Uh, one Republican strategist. Well, that's not news to anybody. Everybody is an uphill battle against Trump. We, everybody knows that he he's raised the, his fundraising numbers don't support that story. Just, just as a side note, his, his fundraising numbers do not support the thesis of that story at all. Well, it depends on where the money's coming from, right? If you're talking about big campaign, you know, connected donors like the Koch brothers and everything like that. Yeah. He's going to raise a lot of money. Um, but when it comes to, I guess the poll numbers of who's doing well, it doesn't matter how much money people are giving you if people don't like you enough to pick you over the other guy. Well, uh, that's true. Um, but none of this is going to matter until we get to Iowa, quite frankly. And the DeSantis camp just dropped probably one of the best ads I've ever seen. Do you have it? I do. Oh, wow. Um, and I don't care. I don't care. I mean, the fact that it's his, it's his, but any candidate, these, the crux of this message messaging in this ad, you watched the first couple of minutes, I didn't first minute or so I didn't realize it was him until they got to the point where they say, we found our fighter and they show a picture of them. But, um, this is an ad. This is an ad that the Republican party and every candidate needs to be taking the basic ideas of this and using it because this is going to hit home with a lot of people.

A highlight from Episode 57: Part 2 with Garth Robinson from Mindhabits

"Hello there, and welcome to the Dear Dyslexic podcast series brought to you by Rethink Dyslexia, the podcast where we're breaking barriers and doing things differently. I'm Shaye Wiesel, your host, and I'm so glad you can join us. I'm a fellow neurodivergent, and I'm coming from the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, where I live and work, and I would like to acknowledge and pay my respects to all the tribes across our beautiful country and to all First Nations people listening today. Our podcast was born in 2017 out of a need to give a voice to the stories and perspectives of adults with dyslexia, and our voice has grown stronger year after year. We're now a globally listened to podcast with guests from all around the world. Join us for insightful conversations about living with dyslexia and other neurodivergences across all walks of life. Our special focus is on adult education, employment, social and emotional well -being, and entrepreneurship. We're excited to be bringing you this episode and invite you to like and follow us, or even better, why not leave us a review on your favorite podcast platform. So let's get started. Hello, everybody, and thank you for joining us again for the second part of my conversation with Gareth Robinson. I really hope you found the first part of our discussion helpful, and you can see how we got sidetracked talking about so many different things. But I think, you know, creating small habits that don't seem overwhelming when we're in really stressful periods of life, whether it's we're going through grief and trauma or we're having a challenge at work or we're facing difficulties in our personal lives, there's always space for us to be providing and doing some self -care. And I think that little habits where we're not feeling pressured to do different activities can really help us manage day to day. So I hope you enjoy the second part of our conversation, particularly around the stacking. And please remember that this episode does again contain sensitive discussions about grief, loss and suicide and mental health challenges. And again, while today's conversation aims at promoting understanding, reducing stigma and giving us strategies, we know that hearing about grief and suicide can be triggering for some of you listening today. So, please, if you find any of this content distressing, your well -being does matter, and it is essential that you prioritise your mental health above all else and consider seeking help. So remember, there's a lifeline that you can contact on 13 11 14 or be on Blue Councillors on 1300 224 636. I hope you enjoy this second part of our series. Thanks for listening. I've got Gareth on the line again today. We've got so involved in talking about our experiences around grief and loss and how we manage day to day that the whole point of the original podcast was around habits. So we thought we'd have this follow up conversation around the habits stacker. I think I've got that right. And how we can move through trauma of all different kinds. It doesn't have to be just losing a loved one. So thank you so much, Gareth, for joining us today again. You're welcome. Thanks for having me back. I'm so pleased that we could continue this conversation and hopefully I'll try and keep us on track this time so we don't end up having to do a third part to this series. But can you give any reflections on our conversation that we had last time? Great question. Thank you, Shay. I guess, yeah, I felt it turned into a little bit of a ramble, but I was glad that we talked we about how view time being so important. And I guess when it comes to habits, and yeah, you got it mostly right, a habit stack. When it comes to habits, it does start with what's in our head and how we view the world, our perception, if you like, our view of time, how we listen to that voice in our head. So yeah, I mean, I could talk about that stuff all day. So I think that was quite a good segue into what we're talking about here today. And for those listeners who haven't heard the initial part of our conversation, were you able to talk about some of the traumatic events that led you to the work that you're doing now? Sure. Okay. We love trauma, whether it's little t trauma or big trauma. So I guess the catalyst for meeting yourself, Shay, was the loss of my beautiful big brother Ben to suicide last August. And actually got a 30 year relationship with suicide, having lost a number of other friends. And I think maybe rather than directly answering your question, I might introduce myself in a slightly different way, even so those that were listening to the last episode, there'll be some value because I do want to acknowledge that for some of your listeners, as I share some tools and techniques to drive positive change in your life, legitimately so you could be thinking, well, you know, who's this guy who, you know, doesn't have dyslexia, doesn't have ADHD? Who's he to tell me how easy it is now? And that's a that's a legitimate concern. So I want to kind of call out that regardless of the trauma, the battles that we're fighting, we always have a choice when it comes to decisions and how we respond, and whether or not we want to change. You need to build that awareness first of that something actually needs to change, you need they need to accept that there's certain things we cannot change. And that comes back to what we talked about last on the circles of control, I guess. But you do then also need to take responsibility for making those changes. One way that helps is putting a more optimistic or positive spin on it. So I want to introduce myself properly at the risk of this turn into a ramble again, and share with your audience my last six years and eight traumatic events, mostly big T trauma that have happened to me. And I'm going to start with a negative bias because our brains are wired negatively and it's just easy to do that. But then I want to flip the script. And that could be a bit of a lesson, I guess, is that we are able to flip the switch the script, excuse me, when it comes to our past. So I'm going to run through these traumatic events for me. Firstly, I was made redundant, so I lost my job. And then over a number of years, bootstrapping a startup, that startup failed and cost myself, my brother -in -law and my family a reasonable amount of money in that in that commercial failure. Part of that is the third traumatic event, we had to sell our unit to fund our lifestyle and continuing this journey. So that was the third traumatic event. The fourth is over the last two, three years, my beautiful wife and myself have grown a little bit apart. The sixth, sixth and seventh traumatic event is that I lost one of my close high school friends to suicide. I then lost, or we lost, I should say, the best man in my wedding to suicide. And finally, as mentioned, my brother last year. So there are a pretty negative kind of traumatic events. Now I want to try and flip that script and take a more positive view on it. So look at that first one, I lost my job. And, you know, as I say, when one door closes, another one opens, because now what I do for a living is I teach, I coach, I train. And when I look back, I've always wanted to be a teacher. So I am far more content in a professional sense and personal effect than I ever was when I was working in the corporate world. And that's not for everyone. But that's me flipping the script. So that redundancy was amazing. The failed startup. Whilst I wouldn't recommend a personal development journey to be led by trying to develop an app and then starting a startup. It has for me been an incredible learning journey, a deep experience that has turned me into a far better human being. So you know, again, another cliche, we learn so much from these failures. So that has actually been an incredible process whilst I wouldn't necessarily recommend your audience to jump in and bootstrap a startup because they want to improve themselves. Now, so that's the first three. The other one was around selling the unit. Now, look, my wife and I at the time chose that we had equity in a unit. But it's sitting there. It's not doing anything. It wasn't enabling us to live the life we wanted to live. And again, this is about a shift in mindset to go well, yes, we need to be aware of the future and aim towards some financial security in the future. But we also want to enable ourselves to live the life we want to live today. So that's flipping the script on the fact that we had to sell that unit to survive financially. The fourth one, right, my beautiful wife and I, you know, we've been seeing a counselor, as you know, shout out my sharing my story and my lives for the last year and we are stronger, better together as a couple and a family unit than almost, you know, for a long time we've been so there's a nice positive end to that story. The last three traumatic events, losing people you love to suicide, you know, I'll be honest, particularly after the loss of my brother six months ago, I'm struggling to find the silver lining on that. So I want to call out two things that we talked about last time. Number one, circles of control. Like those traumatic events were outside of my control, so I need to be careful about attaching myself to them and the grief I feel that is involved with that. Certainly from a blaming point of view, number one. Number two, you can always turn an obstacle into an opportunity and it may simply be how you react and how you support your family members, your community in the event of such a traumatic experience. So those are the two kind of small at this point, but, you know, opportunities from those obstacles. I So that shared that, by the way, just I guess to let everyone know that we all have trauma of whether it's little T, big T, and because I don't have dyslexia or ADHD, it doesn't mean that I don't overthink, that I have anxiety, I suffer from the imposters I'm doing sometimes. But I work hard, partly through my habits, to ensure that I am flipping the script as much as possible. Wow. And you thought you were going to talk about habit sex. So yeah, I'll stop there. Hopefully that made sense to everyone. And yeah, I'll pass it over to you, Shona. Well, I just want to say thank you for being so open and vulnerable in all the conversations we've been having. And I think that it will resonate with our listeners regardless of whether you're dyslexic or not, because we all have traumas in our lives. And so I think it's really valuable conversation that we're having to, I think, also normalize that we all go through these types of challenges in life. And even though we're dyslexic, and we might have higher risk factors for these challenges, that normalizes that this is happening for everyone. And I think the most important message from our conversations is around how can we reduce that impact and try to put strategies in place to look after ourselves. Because I worked out after our conversation, been trying to think of what my word was for the year. And I really think it's around self -care. So I'm really glad that we're having these conversations and highlighting the importance of self -care, particularly, I think, coming out of COVID, which was a huge trauma for everyone. And that there are lots of things we can put in place to help us with our self -care. So yes, so now we will learn some self -care strategies. That's right, that's right. And just, you know, I've been learning about loving kindness meditations, and meditation mindfulness being one of the kind of what we would call some critical habit types we need to focus on. And yeah, that self -care is so important. And for me, there's a bit of a paradox there as a, I want to say as a white, middle class man, and in this kind of competitive society, we often exposed to and live in that loving yourself can be a bit of a challenge. And I think back to the conversations I had with my beautiful big brother, Ben, who, you know, that was, you know, and I'm glad you mentioned so that was a key issue for him, and very hard to understand when you're not in someone else's head, which we never are. That on the surface, you know, he should have loved himself more and taken more self -care. For some reason, he wasn't able to, but look, let's, I'm going to transition because I'm conscious I do tend to overthink, as I said before, and can over talk. So let's jump into habits. And the real question is, why is it so hard to make positive changes in our life by embedding healthy new habits? And one way of looking at this is this kind of three key problems, all right, which I want to briefly highlight, and then I'll go on to the two main discoveries my co -founder Jeremy Horne and myself discovered as we're building out ThriveWrap and what is now called Five Habits. So the first of the problem is something I covered already. This negativity bias, you know, some scientists will tell us that the mind is a little bit Velcro it's when looking at negative experiences, but like Teflon when it's looking at positive experience. So think about that, you know, Velcro, very sticky. So we have a negative experience and we remember that, right? We can catastrophize it, we can turn it into this bigger event. And then those positive experiences we just let go, you know, and I'm not sure about your listeners or yourself, but I know I'm guilty of that sometimes. So that's our first challenge around changing bad behaviors and embedding healthy behaviors is we have this negativity bias built on many of us anyway. The second problem we discovered is that over half your life you spend talking to yourself. Not necessarily out loud, but this is the self -talk or inner speech as some scientists will tell us. And it's dangerous when you have that negativity bias because often, as most of your audience will probably know, that when we talk to ourselves, it's often negative self -talk. So that again is a challenge, you know, I can't do this, it's too hard or I lack motivation. And by the way, that's one of the myths with habit creation is you can't rely on motivation because it's a slippery, nasty little devil. So you want to take some simple steps to reduce the need to motivate yourself to embed those healthy new habits. So that talking to ourselves, the negativity bias, those are real challenges or problems with driving positive behavior change in your life. The third one is that up to 90%, depending on the science you believe, between half to 90 % of your daily activities are habitual. I'll repeat that between 50 to 90 % of your daily activities are habitual. So what that means is you're on autopilot for a lot of the time, as am I. And so again, that makes it hard to drive positive change in our lives. So those are the three kind of problems that make it difficult to embed healthy new habits. The one I haven't mentioned, I mentioned last episode, which is from BJ Fogg, the founder of Stanford University's Behavior Change Lab and also the author of Tiny Habits that I think a link to that book will be in the show notes. He talks about, you know, we've been using the wrong instruction manual. So, you know, we've been looking, it's like you go to IKEA, you buy that bedside table, you open the box to look at the instruction manual and it's for a, you know, it's for a cupboard rather than a bedside table. So how's that going to go with building that bedside table? Almost impossible. So his kind of observation there is we're using the wrong instruction manual. And that's what we'll jump into shortly around the habit state. Before I do that, I'll pause and see if, Shai, if you have anything to add or questions or observations. I think for many dyslexic people, I'm not going to talk for everyone, but the, particularly for me, start with me, the negative bias and the second point around the way we're thinking and talking to ourselves, I think as someone who's dyslexic, I've really struggled with because from a young age, we're often told that we're not good enough because we can't do something that comes really easily to someone else. Or we might have labels put on us of dumb or stupid or, and that really does, it is like Velcro. It does stick to us, those types of terms. And so to try and switch that negative bias to look at how, like the strengths that we have, it's, I think we all talk about strengths, but sometimes I think it can be hard to find our strengths when we've grown up in that kind of space where it's been constantly negative for us and you're bringing that negative, that trauma of the way you've been spoken to and treated into adulthood. And so I think it's good for us to raise this, these conversations around the ongoing narrative that can be in our head that we're not good enough or we're dumb or I can't do that because of my reading or writing or I can't go for that job because what if I find out I'm dyslexic? So I think that being able to have this conversation around how we can reduce some of those tendencies is really important. Yes. No. And so thank you, by the way, for raising that, you know, you're talking for yourself because that's what I'm doing as well. Whilst I have spent many years studying this and believe our habit stack will work for most, if not all, people and help them drive positive change in their lives, I can only speak for myself just as you can only speak for yourself. And, you know, I'm not sure whether I acknowledge this on the last episode, but, you know, my brother was dyslexic. He had inattentive ADHD. The cause and effect between that and depression and then suicide, you know, I'm not qualified to draw that line. However, you know, that's probably one of the reasons also why I'm excited to be here and talk to your audience, even though I cannot necessarily walk in their shoes. So, okay, so those are some problems we have, right? So how do we go about driving effective change in our own lives? And, you know, again, I want to call out one of the major issues I see almost every day in this kind of personal development self -help space is this whole go big or go home, you know, 10X your income, all that, excuse my French, fucking rubbish, basically, the world and then also ourselves when we are our own worst critics set the bar way too high. So you do not have to 10X your income. You do not have to run a marathon. You don't have to run an ultra marathon, even a half marathon or 10K. You don't have to do that. So one of the challenges I find is that when people are looking to improve, they set the bar way too high. And that concerns me as someone who's interested in, you know, positive mental health. So let's jump into what my co -founder Jeremy and myself discovered about three or four years ago now is that there's actually about kind of five habit types that many of the world's hyper successful and extraordinary icons, athletes and artists do. And for most of your audience, these will not come as a surprise. So we we discovered that there's five types of habits or activities that a lot of these hyper successful people do every day or focus on improving that allow them to be more content, healthier and happier. And the first one is meditation or some form of mindfulness. I'll borrow from Tim Ferriss, who, you know, has interviewed over 500 of the world's hyper successful people over the last probably decade on his podcast. And, you know, according to one article that I read, over 80 % of his audience do some form of meditation every day. Now, that can be one minute. Could be 10 minutes, half an hour an hour. Again, it depends on your situation and the individual. So meditation is the first one or some form of mindfulness. In addition, the next one is movement. So no surprise there. You know, most of us recognize that some form of physical activity will help our mental muscle as well as our physical muscles. I don't think, well, you can't see me, but Shay can see me. You know, my big guns, they're not very big, but I spend a lot of time focused on my mental muscle. And help by my physical activity and or movement. So we've got meditation, movement. The next one is eating smart. Again, we could talk about eating the rainbow. So kind of vary now what we consume. The fourth is sleeping well. So some of you will be aware of Arana Huffington and her book, The Sleep Revolution. There are many people that talk about the power of sleep. And what I just want to remind your audience with this is that usually you're sleeping for a third of your life. And that's because your body needs that rest and recuperation. So there's a whole lot of different things we can do to improve our sleep. So that's the fourth of these kind of habit types. The fifth one, and this is probably the one I like the most, is giving. So I'll circle this back to your comment about self -care. Because the first person you've got to give to is yourself. So this is about giving to yourself and others and supporting your community. And that is such a powerful... And you're doing it with this podcast and your other business show and your coaching business. And as you all know, and many of your audience that do volunteer, that give, that are trying to contribute to their community, you get far more than you have to give yourself. So that's the fifth habit is find a way to give firstly to yourself and then to others. So those are the five habits. Just quickly again, meditation, movement, eating smart, sleeping well, and giving. That's the first thing we discovered. If you can build routines and habits that involve those types of activities into your world, you're going to be healthier and happier faster than you may think. So they all seem like... Well, you're right. They're habits that we would all know. Why don't we stick to them? Yeah, well, that leads me to the second discovery. That was the first discovery. Well, and then the second discovery was, how do we make habits stick? And why is it so hard? And we relied on a number of experts, but probably the three most popular. I've mentioned BJ Fogg before. Many of your audience members will recognize the name James Clear and the book Atomic Habits. So you can recognize the theme here. Tiny habits, atomic habits. We call them micro habits. You can call them small habits. It doesn't matter what you call them, but we start with small habits. That's one of the techniques and I'll expand on that a little bit later. So we discovered with them... Also, there's a gentleman called Charles Duhigg. And he popularized the habit loop, which effectively is that there is a trigger or cue and then there is the routine or activity and then there's a reward. So usually something triggers us to do that routine. So maybe we're finishing our dinner and we're turning the TV on and that triggers us to, okay, it's ice cream time, right? And then we go to the fridge, you get the ice cream out, we eat the ice cream, tastes nice. It rewards us and we feel good for a little while at least. So that's that habit loop. And what we discovered after researching this for many months is that there are these tools called habit stacks. And ours is a 4 -step habit stacking tool that allows you to embed habits more quickly without relying on much effort, your motivation, and a few other things. So that was this second discovery and I'm happy to expand on what our habit stack looks like. Again, for your listeners, I believe we'll have like a habit stacking guide that you can download for no charge. You can have a look at that and that will help you build out your own habit stack. But perhaps I should pause now, Shay, before I jump into kind of how that looks and some of the logic behind how it's designed. But I'll pause now just in case you've got any observations, questions.

I think as I go to some center saw, you look most of the audience is over 75 years old that just has it up there as white noise. So yes, I think they will survive. I think their earnings will be down. I think their cash flow will be down, but I think they'll go to the center. They'll go to they'll become centrist, like if you look at the voting score of the cpac analysis today, all the senators in the 50s, the Mitch mcconnells, they're going to push neoliberal neocon with a smiley face and yes, I think they will survive, but I think if we play our cards right, they'll take a major economic and more important political hit.

"Just take one minute to explain the three heavens. So that the viewers can understand, why is this about third heaven authority? 37. In second Corinthians 12, first four verses the apostle Paul himself used that terminology. He said that he was caught up to the third heaven. So the first heaven in my understanding actually is the stellar heavens, the created natural universe of which the earth is a part. The second heaven is the spiritual realm that surrounds it coexists with it. The spiritual realm, by the way, with the astronauts left earth. And we were looking up to heaven and saw the moon and they went to the moon. When they were standing on the moon and looking back, they saw the earth, they were looking up to the heavens. So it's all part of that. And while they were there, they weren't free from any kind of demonic influence. Because that second heaven round that coexists, the spiritual realm, as it were, is where the activity of demons and angelic spirits and human spirits and God and all of that exists. So that's the second heaven. The third heaven is the highest of the heavens that thrown with God. It's where belabor go to when they die. It's a place, third heaven. So third have an authority in reality then, Eric, is the vantage point of from heaven looking down to the earth and viewing all of the circumstances that we are engaged in in our daily life.

"He said, no, we don't have anything to do with the energy prices. So there's a realization that a lot of what's happening in the short term with inflation has nothing to do with the fed with food prices and energy prices and things that are related to supply chain difficulties and the war in Ukraine and he acknowledged that very frankly, but at the same time they can control the overall pace of demand and that that does have some influence over time on inflation. Steve, we're getting so many comments about whether we're in a recession already. If there's going to be a recession next 12 to 18 months, what does employment tell us about whether or not we're in a recession right now? You were tweeting about this last week, so I wanted to ask you about it because we're seeing unemployment still sub 4% and we have about one minute left. We have been getting employment reports around 400 to 500,000 every month this year. And employment is a key indicator in how the official national bureau of economic research committee that decides whether or not a slump is a recession or not, that's one of the key indicators they look at and clearly the employment market is still booming. There's no recession. And in fact, this was something Powell talked about today. He said he did not see a near term risk of recession. I mean, he kind of laid out the possibility that over some period of time there was a risk of recession, but in the near term, the economy is very strong and employment is one of the areas where it's the strongest. If we don't do anything, every everybody takes a 20% across the board cut. The fact of the matter is, you know, I've been in, uh, in politics long enough and in Congress to know that when I was in the Navy we used was saying in the Navy and, you know, some people may have heard me say this that we went from crisis to crisis unimpeded by plans. Uh, yeah, I mean that, and to some extent, that's true. That's exactly what Congress operates. Everybody knows that Medicare is going broke. Everybody knows that Social Security is going broke. Everybody knows that. That you know you can't be $30 trillion in debt, and I saw the figure by the end of the the Joe Biden budget By the end of the next 10 years, we will be $39 trillion in debt in this country. Everybody knows there's a problem. Nobody's willing to do anything about it. We had to have in Congress. I thought the Constitution required a balanced but no, no, absolutely not. Only state constitutions require that In fact, we tried to move a balance The budget when we controlled All three branches. We actually tried to move a balanced budget amendment. But of course, you need two thirds of the of the chambers to to move it, and we couldn't do it. What I think should happen, But But states won't do it now.
