Aaron Rodgers strains calf during warmups, sits out first Jets practice open to media
"Aaron Rodgers never made it past warm ups in his first New York Jets practice in front of the media. This is tweaked my calf in the little pre practice condition inside. Decided to take it. Take a vet day. The 39 year old quarterback acquired last month from Green Bay strained a calf while participating in conditioning drills Tuesday. I don't think it's too serious. Rogers watch quarterback drills and remained on the field during practice, but was without his helmet and threw no passes. Rogers, who wasn't wearing a wrap on either calf while he stood at the podium and spoke to reporters was uncertain when the injury occurred. I'm geffen cool

Is Matt Ryan a Hall-of-Famer?
"Personally believe Matt Ryan's a Hall of Famer. Now hear me out. And here's why. He brought his team to a championship. I know they lost that. If they have that championship, eve waltz is in the Hall of Fame. It's the same thing with Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford wasn't going to the Hall of Fame. Whether we believe there announced that's wise. I think winning that ring, he's going to get in now. Eli Manning, which is two rings, has probably going to get in the Hall of Fame, 'cause it's New York and it's a whole thing. Okay, now there's your difference. Let's take Eli Manning. Is it the two rings that put Eli Manning in the holiday man in two rings are going to vault him in? But if Eli Manning were to have Aaron Rodgers career, he'd be in the Hall of Fame. And probably waltzing in as well. Aaron Rodgers has four MVP awards. He is dominated his division and he also owns the city of Chicago, but did he really? He comes up short. I agree. He has come up short many times. But how many? He does have a race. On the MVPs. Okay? I mean, think about some of the people who have been named MVPs. All right, and granted, he got it four times. Over the last years when he was really taking a baiting from media about the vaccine stuff. And when you heard his side of the story, which has never been contradicted by the reporters who were trashing him, you know, that he did say what he actually did. He didn't lie about it.

Doug and James Debate the Greatness of Aaron Rodgers
"Made my feelings now. I talk about it in the pregame in the pre show here. And I talk about it now. I think Aaron Rodgers is a good quarterback. I think he is a way above average. I don't see him as great. And I know I get a lot of pushback from people about this. But and maybe we'll just say he didn't have the tools, Green Bay didn't give him the resources, whatever it is. But it is amazing to me and you help me out because you're the New Yorker. Legit issue. Is it the jets are just so desperate for anything that they're willing to take a mirage and say, it's going to become reality. I mean, I mean Greenberg. Hiring them around the studio this week on get up and everything. And it's like, really? Doug, did you see Zach Wilson play last year? Yeah? All right. When you know my answer is gonna be, okay, so we have different opinions. We have differing opinions on Aaron Rodgers. Because he is destroyed my heart more times than I can count. I mean, you're just glad to get him happy. It really brings me joy. But let me ask you something. Do you think Dan Marino is a great player? Great. You want him to play football? I think he is he a Hall of Famer. Yes. I mean, if that determines. Are you saying that not having a bunch of rings? Is what stopping him from being great? Only reason I'm asking. I'm gonna say maybe.

Aaron Rodgers Emerges From the Darkness
"Who's been a top contender for Friday's finest for the last few weeks. Has been the mercurial quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers. Now, deciding that he did not want to retire under the same year Tom Brady did, and he wanted to continue to play. He's following that great packer tradition of leaving the Green Bay Packers and going to New York. It looks like if things can get everything settled. I mean, is there ever, I mean, this is almost like the Howard Hughes of football. I mean, just this reclusive, I'm going to sit in the dark for two weeks and then come back out and talk. And then when he actually came back out this week and said it on the pat McAfee show, well, I'm going to play and I intend to play with the jets. Well, I loved the I don't know if I'm going to try to I think it's a direct one. He said, I came out of the darkness and something was a little bit off. Like, yeah. Okay. The real world, buddy. You know, I just, I feel like every fan of every other team in the NFC north wants to hold a press conference to thank God for getting Aaron Rodgers out of their division. But realistically, it's something that bothers me. I think this is, this goes for pretty much anything. This is not, we don't even have to keep this to just sports, but the idea that he knew that he knows that he has enough power to a if they want to get rid of him, he can take as much time as he wants. If he really wanted to stay and cause a stink and their organization, he could do that as well. But now he gets to make demands to the team that's looking to get him. Think about all the power that that one man has because he can throw a football 60 yards without blinking.

Scott Presler Tells Us About the Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
"Us now is Scott pressler to actually connect the stories together, we're going to talk about Wisconsin and I have a feeling that our Wisconsin viewers are going to want to hear more about Aaron Rodgers than about the Supreme Court seat, but they should honestly care about this more. Scott, welcome to the program. I think it's the most important election in 2023. Talk to us about the Wisconsin Supreme Court seat. Thank you, Charlie. Well, I'm here in Wisconsin and Milwaukee. And what people need to understand is right now, the Supreme Court is for Republicans to three Democrats. But one Republican is retiring, meaning that on April 4th, if we are not successful at electing justice Daniel Kelly, the court will flip from conservative to liberal. And I want to remind our Wisconsin viewers that governor Evers, a Democrat, tried to impose a stay at home order. And it was just as Daniel Kelly that was the deciding vote that negated and nullified that stay at home order, providing for Wisconsin's schools to open businesses to open churches to open. So everything is on the line with this election. If you believe in gun rights and hunting rights and school choice and voter ID and proof of residency in all comes down to the all important election on April 4th for justice Daniel Kelly.

"Team when you sign javon Harvey. I love what Denver's done. And Ben powers, we're talking about an offensive line that wasn't good last year. Both of them are top ten and run blacking, run blocking statistics. So an offensive line that is now going to be capable and committed to running the football that's going to help Russell Wilson. Also, your guy Zach Allen is added to Randy Gregory and baron browning as pass rushers. I love that they're protecting Russell. All right, a big day tomorrow as the newly gear begins deals can be finalized and that's when all eyes are on Lamar Jackson. Which teams will have him on speed dial tomorrow. Our guys have a few teams desperate for a quarterback in mind. Here who they think Lamar could go to next if he leaves the ravens. NFL live is presented by toro. Count on it. I built an empire. If the money start back in zero, that ain't gonna happen. Ethics is snowfall, returns for the final season. Make peace with your family. John singleton's visionary series comes to an epic conclusion. What the heck is against the wall? A man with a dream with plans to make three. Big let us go into a war. This is about survival. FX's snowball, the final season, all new Wednesdays, on FX, stream on Hulu. We're back on NFL live in a reminder of what it would cost another team to get Lamar Jackson with him on the non exclusive tag, a team would have to be able to come to terms on a new contract and be willing to sacrifice two first round picks after that. They also have to hope the ravens won't match the offer as they would retain his rights if they did. That's important the ravens do have the chance to match the offer. So this is all happening really soon, okay? We're less than 24 hours Adam from teams being able to call Lamar and talk. Where do we stand as it comes to his situation? Well, he's not allowed to talk to these teams. Now, there may be some back channel conversations. Who knows? We don't exactly know, but what we have seen is this also. At the start of free agency, Carolina needed a quarterback, and it traded up the number one. Right. The readers needed a quarterback Garoppolo. They're going to send Jimmy Garoppolo. The jets need a quarterback, and they are clearly zeroing in on Aaron Rodgers. So now you take three teams out of the mix. Now how many other teams are there? And there have been a number of teams that said that they wouldn't do it. Now we don't know whether they're being honest, but people, whether they're hiding something, but we're waiting to see exactly how it plays out. I just think that the market is not as robust as you would think it would be for a quarterback as great as Lamar Jackson. Marcus, what should teams be on the line at four O one, by the way, that's a deadline. We come on the air at 4 p.m., which team should be on the line at four. Washington commanders. Based on how this thing is playing out with Aaron Rodgers, the jets. And then San Francisco. I think San Francisco and that match with Lamar Jackson would be undefendable. I really believe it would. If they were able to get him now, look, I'm not, I'm not basing this on the premise of how this would happen and what years draft picks. I'm just talking about teams where Lamar Jackson could go in right now and be a lot of who he is already, right? With the ability to kind of create that run get San Francisco to me. Dude, I would be pissed off for the defensive coordinators in the NFL if he ended up in Shanahan's system with the way that they call offense. But here's the thing for me too. And then I got to pass the team. It's been a lot of terms thrown around about this Lamar Jackson situation. Y'all, this business. This is business. Now, whether you whether the owners have gotten on the phone and say, they've always fought against guaranteed contracts. They've always said that since I was in the league, they said, can't get to that point. Now, we're going to fight for it as players. And Lamar needs to be applauded for trying to get a fully guaranteed contract. But ultimately, I think Lamar, whenever this process starts happening fast, just advice from me. Try not to make it personal, understand that you fight in the Apple cart and figure out how to get as much money as you can, guarantee, man. I would say Indianapolis right now. You know, I like San Francisco, Washington, because he keeps him in the AFC. I think also, I would hope that Baltimore would match any authority by someone else. And this isn't my idea. I saw actually Daniel Jeremiah say this. Because if you're Indianapolis, you sit at four right now, Carolina, one, take a quarterback Houston at two, taking a quarterback. I still think there's teams that are going to go and try to get up to three with Arizona Cardinals. That could potentially take a quarterback. Seattle, Tennessee, maybe Detroit. Maybe the jets if they don't get Rogers. So if you're into you're sitting there going, do we want the fourth quarterback in this draft class? And they need a quarterback. Or do we want to take two first round picks in the money and say, we're going to take Lamar Jackson. And we're going to go on the very best run with stain steichen. There are new head coaches that we can. It sounds like something I say would be for. At some point, Lamar the fourth best quarterback in this draft class. Yeah. So really quickly, Adam, and this may be an unfair question, but when you think about the timeline, so this can all happen tomorrow beginning at four O 1 p.m. Eastern Time, okay? Would we assume at that point that Aaron Rodgers potentially to the jets would be done or are the jets still going to be in limbo as far as? Look, to me, the Rogers thing is a process that they're going through. I had one person say to me, it doesn't mean it's right that it could take a little while for these two teams to work at a trade, potentially could last at the end of the week. You don't know, right? So it's a process, but starting tomorrow, Lamar can visit other teams, talk to other teams. She's allowed to do all that. All I have to do that 4 o'clock eastern tomorrow. So I just think that timeline is going to be fascinating to watch because the jets could be very much in the mix if they don't get here in Rogers, but they may not know until I think it's going to be another team. If this happened. Yeah. All right, we'll see you tomorrow on NFL live in our free agency special as well. Yes. How would you love a chance to save some money on car insurance? Geico can help. "Odo Beckham junior right now? Listen, he had 12 teams in his workout and everybody that saw the tape was impressed. The issue I think is the price. The price hasn't matched so far with what a team is willing to spend on Odell Beckham junior right now. Now there are not a lot of top end wide receivers available in free agency. The draft is not as deep at that position as it normally might be. So you're waiting to see if there's a team out there that's willing to go spend on Odell Beckham junior who worked out for all those teams last week was coming off the knee injury who looked good during the workout. It's a question of where does he fit? What is the price? Who's going to work it out and who wants to make that connection? And now we just wait to see. Yeah, I mean, and I'm looking around thinking of teams that really probably need him. And one of the teams that comes to mind when you think about actually meeting receivers in general, wide receiver Jacoby Myers, a former patriot, now to the Raiders. Dan, why did the country maybe like somebody else? Well, I think if you're New England, one, you have a bottom 5 skill position group in the NFL right now. I can make the case bottom three. So it's really OBJ, got to go get them. Are you going to trade for de hop if you can? Or if not the draft. Those are really like the realistic choices. Let me read everybody what the Patriots pass catching group looks like right now. First of all, you don't have a single receiver on your team or past catcher over 500 yards. Hunter Henry, your leading receiver at 41 catches last year. Your second receiver, Kendrick born at 35, devonta Parker had 31 and taekwon Thornton at 22. That's right now where you're going into your third year with Mac Jones going, hey, we got to see if you're the guy. This is what right now on March 14th, you're rolling out with the only two teams that I sit here and go are worse in that unit as far as pass catchers are Houston and Carolina now that they've traded DJ Moore. Tennessee's at least got a first rounder. Baltimore at least says Mark Andrews in her first rounder, Arizona. Right now has Deandre Hopkins. New England, you have the third worst pass catching unit in the NFL. If you think you can make any kind of evaluation on Mac Jones in his third season, you have no choice but to go get Odell Beckham and somebody, Odell, diop, the draft. You saying what's logical? And you talking about it from the prison annually. Odell Beckham junior don't want to go to New England because you ain't winning nothing. And the stage ain't big enough. Because you have a decent amount of control here. You don't have some control now. Adam brought up a great point about the money, right? Like based on what he's looking for is two destinations, I think, Odell Beckham junior is looking for. He'll win more in Dallas, he'll win more in Kansas City. Because Odell Beckham junior has to have the mindset that I'm on a one year deal, right? The injury to me caught should cause him to take a step back and say, let me go and do what I did again for an entire season. Like I showed up for the rams and showed that I was still a number one guy and an elite receiver coming off this injury. And then go out to the market next year. The only pushback I would say to you is I don't think Dallas and Kansas City have to pay him. That money that he wants. I think New England does. Well, that's, but if it's strictly for him about money deal, we are very on the same page and logical. But I just don't believe at this stage and Odell Beckham junior's career that he's going to be a building project for a football team to try to determine if your quarterback is good enough. 'cause he ain't even gonna win his division. Let alone trying to make a playoff run and be in that moment that he wants to be in. That's the only reason he went to LA. I mean, I get your point. The only thing you wonder is if they got him and somehow he knew they were also getting a Deandre Hopkins. But also, but also what makes you think, what makes you what makes you think that Bill Belichick gonna pay $20 million for Odell Beckham junior? He not gonna do that. I just gave you what they are as a kid. He's not gonna do that. They gotta stop thinking Tom Brady still there. We living in a time with New England where we've been talking about being devoid of talent. This is the first year we talked about having issues with that wide receiver. I don't hate Dallas in Kansas City forum. If it's about like, I wanna go prove my production and go catch it. Absolutely. That's what I'm thinking. I understand that. And at that point, if he thinks about winning championships, you probably relent a little bit on the money. He already has Super Bowl champion. Right. Right. All right, day two of free agency underway, Adam. What's been going on? We just talked about Jacoby Myers to Vegas. What else do we need to know? Let's start with Darren Waller. Darren wall traded today to the New York Giants for a third round pick in this upcoming draft a hundredth overall selection, which oh, by the way, the Giants got from the Kansas City Chiefs for kadarius Tony, which the Kansas City Chiefs got when they lost Ryan polls to the Chicago Bears. So Ryan polls essentially started that pick and it ends with Darren Waller going to New York in the selection going to Las Vegas instead. And that trade was made possible by the fact that earlier in the day the raiders signed Jacoby Myers who reached agreement, the dolphin sign, a pair of their own running backs today, Raheem mostert and Jeff Wilson, both re up on two year deals, most starts worth up to 7.6. Wilson's worth up to 8.2, both incentives in there, dolphins get to keep both their running backs and that is something that that was important for that offense here moving forward. They'll Los Angeles chargers running back Austin was granted permission today to seek a trade. He's got one year left on his contract, $6.25 million left in that deal. The running back market right now is bad in the National Football League for free agent running backs, but Austin Eckler wants a new deal and feels like he deserves one and his production is almost unmatched across the NFL. We'll see if the charters work out a deal for him and the New York Jets are closing in on an agreement for Alan lazard that would be a four year $44 million deal. Just told moments ago, it's not done yet, but they've been working to this all day long overnight, denied those numbers overnight, but yes, that is going to be the deal of him when it does get done with the New York Jets and that is obviously a breadcrumb to what's going on in New York as we all wait for the Aaron Rodgers decision, right? But Al Lazar going to the jets. Oh, that's interesting. And they're interested in Randall Cobb and Mercedes. That's interesting. As Brian winners say something is going on. I think that makes sense. I think that makes their offense better. I think lazard is the number two outside of Garrett Wilson elevates their office. Listen, they've got a lot more of these guys they got to add to make Aaron Rodgers happy. And by the way, speaking of the jets interest in former packers, Brian Clark tweeted this thought, he said, Aaron Rodgers is going to keep the homies employed. He's a real friend. RC, when your deal's up, can you do the same for us? I know, yeah, what RC, tell them they got to keep all of us or you're leaving. That's what the power he has. Okay, here's a look at ESPN's top 5 free agents entering this off season. As you can see, four of the top 5 have already agreed to deals, which Ivan hargrave going to San Francisco, Mike mcglinchy, headed to Denver, Jamal jamel dean staying foot in Tampa, Jessie Bates, going to Atlanta. However, the top free agent Orlando Brown junior still remains out there. Remember the chiefs agreed to a blockbuster deal with juwan Taylor yesterday, so kind of looking a little iffy for Brown, but Dan if Brown does not return to Kansas City, we have concerns for mahomes protection when you think about what that O line will look like? No, one because Brett veteran general managers drafted creed Humphrey, their center in Trey Smith, their right guard in the last couple years. So this organization does a great job of identifying talented draft and then developing that offensive on challenge. Number two, Patrick Mahomes, the ball out, the way that he controls the pass rush the way he's learned to do that over the past couple years and then Andy Reid. I'll go back to the Super Bowl. They put against the team that had the most sacks in the NFL, and I understand the surface wasn't great, but in most sex and the info on what 40 years in Philadelphia, they got nothing. So I think the group can control that unit still really good. And it's really Lucas kneeing who should play right tackle for them has to stay healthy. Yeah, look, Chicago Bears need to be on the phone. That's number one right now. New England Pittsburgh, England Pittsburgh but to meet Chicago, right? When you look at what they've been building, pay attention to what Chicago is doing. They're solidifying their front 7. This league is still about the line of scrimmage and guys that can make plays down here. Protecting your quarterback getting after the pass. Orlando Brown is one of those guys that has proved this protection, Justin feels movement will help him as well. I think the Chicago Bears make this move. I think it's taking so long shifter. You would know more than me

What Are the Chances of Tom Brady Returning to the Field?
"Scale of one to ten, ten being. He's definitely going to play next year one saying, nope, he's going to be raising kittens with his daughter. Brady back in or not. Is Ted a yes? Then the answer is zero. He is never coming back. I don't think he's coming back. Can we hear real quick? What was the number that Fox News was giving him? Maybe Fox 340. He's retired. I think it was. More than they gave him a gap year. So they only make him stronger. He literally gave him the Kevin Durant contract where they're like, you can skip the first year and you play for three years and we're still going to pay you for that first year. He is not doing anything. Yeah, I think he's done. But also, I think the reason why Aaron Rodgers is even looking for another team for another year is because he doesn't want to be in the same Hall of Fame class as Tom Brady. Yeah. I would do the same.

Rumsfeld's Rules: Slow Down the Process
"Football a lot here on the podcast. But the greats, so to speak, the bradys, the Aaron Rodgers, going back to Roger Staubach, Fran tarkin and Steve Young, you just name the greats of quarterback. They slow the game down. The other players do this as well. Defensive backs, you know, in baseball, they slow the game down. A hitter can slow the game down to where he sees the ball coming at him as if it's almost twice its size instead of the baseball that it is. And really this is sort of what he's talking about here. First climb so you can get a look, then conserve. Slow it down if you can. Slow down the process, quit looking to always make a quick decision. Snap decisions are not the best all the time. And so sometimes you need to conserve that energy a little bit. Make it, you know, if you hang out and if you don't have to make a decision right now, then climb above it, start looking around, bring in ideas, look at the horizon and then start slowing it down. Slow the world down.

A recap of Week 16 of the NFL season
"NFL week 16 roundup. I'm Dave ferry. The Buccaneers remain atop the NFC south after scoring the last 13 points in a 1916 overtime win at Arizona. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles. I think it was a total effort in the second half, especially the fourth quarter. Defense getting stopped and the offense cashing in timely plays seemed like we play better in the fourth quarter if we can transfer that to the other three, you know, it would be pretty consistent, but it was a hard fork when we needed it. We got it. No matter how pretty it looked or it didn't look pretty. Ryan suck up entered it by hitting a 40 yard field goal and tied it on a 42 yard kick with two 27 left in regulation. The rally began after the Cardinals took a 16 6th lead on James Connors 22 yard scoring run with ten 47 remaining in regulation. Tom Brady threw for 281 yards, one TD and two interceptions. I would play better there in the fourth quarter. We executed pretty well. Hit a bunch of Brooks and tackles, you know, ran hard, a lot of guys made plays in the past games and contested catches. Got to hear as soon as they caught it and came up with it. So defense really stepped up. This was a great way to down ten in the fourth quarter on the road. It's great to find a way to win. Trace mcsorley had 217 passing yards and his first NFL start, but the Cardinals fell to four and 11. The packers playoff hopes are very much alive after they intercepted to a tongue of violet on three consecutive possessions, securing a 26 20 win at Miami. The first pick set up mason Crosby's tie breaking field goal early in the fourth quarter. Tongue of valoa was intercepted with 6 minutes left. And again, around the two minute warning. It was just terrible how everything ended. And like I told the guys, that's on me and I'll definitely get better from that. Aaron Rodgers threw for 238 yards and a touchdown as Green Bay improved to 7 or 8. A half came out of a playoff spot with two games remaining. Considering where we were a few weeks ago, a lot has happened in our favor. All the games that need to go a certain way win a certain way. Now there's obviously much much left. But again, we're going to be we played meaningful games in December. We want all three of those. Now we're playing meaningful games in January. We got to win those. The 8 and 7 dolphins led 20 to ten before losing their fourth in a row. Jaylen waddle and tyreek hill each had over 100 yards receiving. The defending Super Bowl champs finally enjoyed a blowout win. Mark Myers was there. Cam Akers ran for three touchdowns part of the rams 51 to 14 Christmas Day win against the Broncos. I mean, it's a big deal, you know, obviously I helped to contribute to a win today, so that's pretty much the biggest. The biggest highlight of it for me, you know, Christmas Day, we gotta win. Baker Mayfield through two touchdown passes to Tyler higbee and Kobe Durant had an 85 yard pick 6. Denver's Russell Wilson threw one touchdown three interceptions and was sacked 6 times. It was the 5th time Wilson has thrown three interceptions. They're more in a game. Twice against the rams. We feel like we can be better. We feel like we're more capable of being better or feel like we've had some good moments and all that. But nobody wants to put out what we put out today. That was terrible. The Chargers will face the colts on Monday night. Los Angeles will clench an AFC playoff birth with a win. Next week, the bills can clinch the number one seed in the AFC with a victory over the Bengals and a loss by the chiefs against the Broncos. Should the Bengals beat the bills and their ravens fall to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati wins the AFC north. The Jaguars are in control of the AFC south and take on the Texans in Houston. Jacksonville could lose that game and still capture the division by beating the Titans in week 18. The eagles will take the number one seat in the NFC by winning one of their last two games or having the Vikings split their last two games. A victory over the cults will put the Giants in the NFC playoffs. I'm Dave ferry, AP sports.

"The Green Bay Packers kept their playoff hopes alive by beating the Los Angeles Rams 24 12 out of 15° Monday night at Lambeau Field. AJ Dillon rushed for a pair of scores Aaron Jones catching an Aaron Rodgers touchdown. Rogers on the 6 and 8 packs still with a heartbeat. We've got two. Got two in the bag. I knew that we had to win 5. And then have a lot of things go our way. So we won two, and just about everything we've needed to happen has gone our way, just about, right? So things are looking up. Baker Mayfield made his first LA start, but the depleted offense produced only a 156 yards. He got sacked 5 times the defending champs officially out at four and ten, Mark Daniels, Green Bay.

"AP sports arm Tom Miriam, Monday Night Football, the packers kept their slim playoff hopes alive by defeating the reeling rams 24 to 12. Aaron Rodgers 22 at 30 for 229 yards and the touchdown to fuel optimism over the seasons last month in Green Bay. So I won two and just about everything we've needed to happen has gone our way. Just about, right? So things are looking up. And NFL injury news eagles quarterback Jalen hurts is hurting. The MVP candidate hurt his shoulder and Sunday's win over the bears and his questionable to start Saturday's game against the cowboys. NBA Donovan Mitchell scored a team high 23 points in his first game against the jazz and his trade to the Cavaliers over the summer and Cleveland's went over Utah. It was just a lot of fun just being out there playing against guys I've been playing with and coaching staff that I've been with my whole career and really helped me grow to be who I am today. Joel embiid scored 28 points as the 76ers staved off a second half raptors rally. At the end of the third and the beginning of the fort, but we've reacted. Also victorious, the sun's hawk spurs thunder Timberwolves hornets, and the box who defeated the pelicans as Giannis poured in 42. NHL, Alex Ovechkin remains one goal behind Gordie Howe for second all time in NHL history as he went scoreless in the capitals overtime win over the team for whom Howe played almost his entire NHL career, the red wings, but Nick dowd scored twice for the caps. To come from behind and then come from behind again, the very next shift. And then win in overtime, especially that was one of our biggest crowds of the year. So that felt really good for our team. The league leading bruins got two third period goals from Patrice bergeron to deny a Panthers come back. Sitting on leaves and I think we have to get away from that and keep being on our toes and keep pushing, you know, no matter what the score is. Rodgers, Packers rally in 4th quarter to beat Bears 28-19
"The packers scored 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull out a 28 19 win over the bears. Aaron Rodgers overcame a rib injury to go 18 of 31 for 182 yards in the TD. The win against the bears is always a little more special. There was other things involved. The all time win. Total was cool. Another fourth quarter comeback. AJ Della and Christian Watson rushed for touchdowns in the final period. Watson took an end around 46 yards for a score with one 51 left. Three plays after Justin Fields was intercepted. "It should be in pretty damn good for a while. Have a game like that using bounce back that respond in the last week all the crap they took throw academies got it touched out packers stiers fee on it right now it. Right by baggers ear four touchdown game for our and jones like to say a lot of and it's nice to come back in you after a game like that. I'm kobe. we are jalen and jacoby. what is it that we do. We get a huge win. Four last night huge win the lines. They were off by three points at halftime against the green bay. Packers jalen win the lines. I mean the have new game come. What a win new signs you you. Mvp jared goff going to the best tight end in the hocken sin at the back is all. You saw winning at the half. Seventeen to fourteen we at in our roger. Aaron jones on the waltz at the have and then there was the second half second-half during which aaron jones and aaron rodgers made the lines. The absolutely foolish absolutely foolish. Jalen what happened in the second half won the first half it was more like that was the first half celebration that we have right and then in the second half is more like neil so aaron. Joel's had one two three four touchdowns and i was actually rooting for him. Because he was paying homage to his late. Father and i was rooting for him. I'm glad he did really will. Aaron rodgers guys go in the second half. He found davante adams particular. Own a beautiful bomb in the third quarter. And then before you know it the row was on the row was on and then the only thing was not the pay a tissue to was a couple of things that are really important. What jamal is gonna give me a touchdown. Because i bet that he would hope would allies cover. You met then they would twelve and a half two and a half almost two touchdowns and in this very oh no twelve and a half points and you lines couldn't even cover jalen. This was a doubt race last night. He said like honestly. I don't think you're gonna win a game. I don't think they're going to win a game. I don't come. I don't think they'll cover the entire season. There is a serious concern about this football team when you look at the nfc north which one of these teams is good. Houston that's me. Which one of these things is. Good well for those. They wanna cherry pig. Jj material we let you know just it feels is going to be start against the lions when they play. That's his first star when you look at that division. There isn't a team as you. Just show that's undefeated which means we're still in striking distance. That's all that means. we still strike it. Is you saw the bears. You buy the lines closer. Going on strike. The lines are closer to going on strike then to be within striking distance to win. The division would be less surprised if they literally on strike and stopped playing for dan campbell. Then if they actually threatened to win the division packers are gonna have that division easily. That game last night was interesting but it was aaron rodgers after the game. Who had this to say. Which was i just think people like to say a lot of both and it's nice to come back here after a game like that little little weight here at the end. What do you think we think of the week on this disappointed. He didn't make reference to scotch after a game like that. Dad has to be the focus. But i see them getting hydrated anytime somebody not about the turn up. They got a bottle of water..

"It's it's stunning the fact that the relationship which you've chronicled so much on on this show about Him and management and how much. That has deteriorated. How much he feels failed. How much feels not communicated to merely resulted one of the greatest players of all time retiring on top while also not people probably dismiss that. Oh whatever you were fifty fifty. But clearly he was hurt the recall as well on the interceptions where he's knowing he seeing them in his head. He's like oh that's grant that's number forty two. He's he's replaying them in the head interceptions from seven years ago in one case sixteen years ago touchdowns from sixteen years ago random running backs ed one hundred yard games so then fumbles jerick williams. He had the details. You're looking at them up while he was while he was going and he had almost all of the details right on every single game also enjoyed the rare glimpse into not the arrogance but the supreme confidence which was when he was talking about well. I kind of helped revolutionize this position. The game is different now than when i started as a quarterback was super interested a bunch of touchdowns and not very many interceptions was rare. You saw a bunch of guys back. When i started filling double digit interceptions. Now every season. I looked at the intersection charts like highest twelve now. He's so right about that. I hearing him say you never hear that. Hearing him say 'i revolutionized the position. I changed the way the game was played because we're all now caretakers with the football. "It just takes Patients when it's something that's important to me and yours as soon as their situation was you know felt like it was important to take time with tenet said now how close the closest you were retiring within that i felt. I felt going into the weekend before camp that i was. I was fifty fifty. I said that to Serious the other day I don't care if people don't believe that. I mean that's that's true There were some things that got me to fifty fifty for sure and you know. I spent a couple of days in silence and and meditation and contemplation and really felt like that. I should come back. There's a lot of opportunities for growth in and exciting things in green bay and and That's that felt like the right thing to do. I'm happy for you. Happy that you have found love. Happy that you're getting married. Happy that you've rebounded to have an mvp season and we'll get you out on this because to god's has been in the shadows begging me to ask you if indeed you saw him in tahoe and you gave him an extra vigorous hug that he describes as partially central. Because you were so happy to see him. I was super juice to see him. I haven't seen him in person. I don't even know how long i was. I was super pumped. Sam and i gave him Overly excited hugger. I think but. I'm glad he enjoyed it. Zero sensuality and but but Definitely excited to always appreciate your time. Sir thank you for giving us this much time. Always appreciate it you buddy. Thanks for having me on Always enjoy our conversations with aaron probably not enough laughter there. I'd like more laughter with him. But i tend to like to explore the introspective spaces with him. He's done clearly a lot of learning about himself and he has had some of those public private issues. Where family stuff. That we still don't know totally about has shaped his patterns and the person that he is and he's done a lot of learning about himself and about self love but wittingham as someone who was here throughout all of this. What were the interesting things the most interesting takeaways. I had not heard him say that he was that kind of injured. The season that people were wondering whether he was done or spent at a quarterback he gave details. I had not heard before to mc l. Tares what he said. I think a a a tibia injury as well. yeah. I think because it was funny. How he kind of went back you. What are you trying to say. Dan and i think will you're basically trying to say. Is that decline. That we thought was a decline was not actually it. Was you incredibly hurt in a team that you had to figure out a way to grind out whatever it is you're going to grind out but that was not the beginning of your decline. It was just a down season because you're incredibly injured and it's funny. How rarely athletes want to accept the out of injury right. They view it as an excuse. You want to say well. I was hurt therefore i was bad. That season and aaron clearly did not want to until you kind of press. Well that wasn't you we did..

"Statute of limitations. You're bad season was the one with two interceptions. That's the one. You had two interceptions all season twenty five touchdowns but that's the one people look at it and say okay. Maybe he's aging there. Maybe he's injured. Maybe he's not quite what he was artistically in terms of excellence. That's an absurdly good season. Was the question. Danny what kind of state or you in that season. Why did that happen. Why were you a lesser quarterback than the one who won the mvp. this year. I look every year is different. And i think that was you know one of my better years Based on a lot of different factors. I played this season with the tibial plateau fracture and a torn mc l. twice for most. You know. i i tore it got better and retour And played you know. Play this season with it I think from an offensive standpoint. personnel wise. We obviously want the same so it was my job that year. We had to take the football because we had to win games by not turn over and and finding a way to put a couple of drives together Obviously that stuff here for a six nine and one But i. I do feel like what i needed to do that year. In order for us to have the best chance to win was take care of the football Other years i've been able to free will a little bit more Like last year and still take care of the ball but that year You know we didn't Didn't have same type of horses and didn't have the same team makeup and obviously we struggled. What do you regard is the ferris criticism of you as a player fairest. I don't know dan. i don't pay a whole lot of attention to to what the the lions are out there. I think that the standard that i've set for myself. The baseline is probably higher than most guys so comparatively I'm not really compared a lot to my contemporaries compared to myself and my twenty eleven season and twenty fourteen season now my twenty twenty season. And that's fine. I don't. I don't mind that at all But yeah. I'm not sure exactly. You.

"Ron sousa was my Baseball coach my senior year. And my one of my football coaches as a sophomore. Same thing you know. He pushed me to be perfect and he expected perfection because he saw it was. It was possible in in me and helped me see in myself and i think those are all incredible positives that pushed me to be my best But there has to be on some level some understanding of balance and and perspective When you've achieved Your potential That it's okay to enjoy it and it's not complacency to be thankful for what you've accomplished and to have gratitude for the situation you're in and to give yourself compassion when you make mistakes because it's actually it's a redefinition of failure as failure as not You know tied to winning and losing in my opinion. It's it's failure as is not giving your best or preparing your best or being as focus as you need to be just like success is always winning and losing. Sometimes your best on that day is not going to be good enough and for perfection. That's really hard to swallow. Because you always think if i'm at my best we're gonna win. I'm gonna win and it's it involves a lotta of compassion and and And perspective and i'm thankful on so so so thankful for co statford and coach sousa and coast jackson coach del and coach pinsker. And all the amazing you know men along the way and my football journey And i'm also thankful for the perspective that you don't have to be perfect. Are you able to apply that compassion to like third down at the end of last season. Ten yards away. Should you run. Should you not run. Are you able to have perspective about that or do you spend the the first two months of the off season punching yourself in the face about that. Yeah man. I'm gonna get myself like a two and a half or three year window to have compassion for moments like that. I mean i'm still mad about twenty fourteen in the nfc championship game. I'm gonna. I'm gonna reserve judgment on on some some of those things But yeah that's frustrating for sure And look i'm i'm disappointed I don't think it you know not needing to be perfectionist. Doesn't take away the competitiveness. Competitiveness still gonna be pissed about that game and the fail mary game and usc in two thousand four and you know nfc championship in fourteen and twenty. Let me quiz you. Because i've been told that you and i've asked you about this before..

"Most calm and most relaxed and and your simpson. Senses are heightened to the max. And that's what we're going for every single week happen but that's what that's what the the goal is back to my original question. Then you couldn't really know what it was like to love someone else until you more completely loved yourself as what you're saying exactly and how can you allow someone to love you. When you don't love yourself the way you need to and you are not emotionally available to love until recently or that. That kind of i know. I think i was. I just think it's You know really recognizing patterns and then being better at Forgiveness and compassion for yourself. It's tough for perfectionists to have that. Because you always feel like something is missing off. And i think what you learn What i've learned is that even as a fixer someone who enjoys continues to grow and learn at the heart a lot of times of a fixtures mentality is the idea that i am broken. They we are broken. And i think that in itself is a never ending cycle of negative self talk. And that's what. I had to kind of get past because you'll never get out of that Cycle unless you come to understand that you're not actually broken. You just have patterns. That have not served you very well during this time of your life and until you learn to forgive yourself after passion for yourself and love yourself better. You're always gonna feel like you have to do something to improve yourself instead of just love yourself a little bit better. Is there any pattern above all others that you look and say that was the one that was most harmful to me most destructive or a required the most compassionate and care from me to not view is broken. Just what i said there in. And it's a bigger bigger pattern but but the idea the idea of perfectionism and what that means and and getting a love from others. Only when i was perfect or if i you know was you know without mistake Nf i wasn't perfect and i was a failure. I think that mentality definitely hasn't served me and didn't serve me for a number of years now. It drove me at one point. Drove me to be my best and to be the best but In the end it's it's an ultimate destructive pattern because an evolved so much negative self-talk it's hard to have that gratitude that i is so important to me now to be able to see the beauty in life around you if you're constantly pressured about what you didn't do what you don't have what you're missing. It's too unforgiving right totally. Yeah there's there's no room for mistakes. How did you become a perfectionist Well i don't think even a perfectionist would never see. It became a perfectionist. They're always they're always one more in one better. I was around. You know one of the one of the greatest coaches Of football and jeff tedford in college and and coach tedford is a perfectionist and he was so demanding and it pushed me to be my absolute best and i'm so thankful for that You know go back to high school..

I watched tiger king and some of the ones you know to keep up with the you know the conversations with some of my friends but In the meantime a lot of books and and studying and learning in classes and different things and just came Highly recommend it to a few good friends of mine. this Often been wanting to get on the schedule for a while. Just happened this off season that you had had plenty of time to do it and took a weekend and just kind of shut. The world often and And did how many tiffany's were in there. Because i imagine your life goes too fast to be able to add that it all got slow down by pandemic and then you can finally apply some of that substantive will toward wait a minute. Maybe i can look at my patterns here and see some places where i'm screwed up that i might not. I don't even need to judge it. That hard harshly. Just look at some things that are in my patterns that i might wanna correct. Yeah totally. I mean the dan. That's exactly what it's all about. It's about compassion and forgiveness. I think for yourself and some of the decisions you made as a young person and how that kind of impacted the way you look at the world and the way you look at relationships and family and friends and and and kind of that conditioning. That times say conditioning it. It might have a negative severely negative connotation but A lot of conditioning means just that the patterns that were developed To kind of Survivor get through certain times And some of them can be negative and and You know have some devastating results and some of just are things that kind of get your subconscious and and kind of operate yourself and autopilot. And i think it's that awareness and understanding That kind of gets you more in your body and more present and when you were president You know there's a lot of life around you to figure out learn and the sea and and areas to grow. And i'm really thankful for for that time to be able to do it. And and the interactions with people in the class and and Excited about doing some more stuff with them later. Did you know about being present ten years ago. Is it something that you'd considered or was the male identity the eagles so tied up in quarterbacking that it's just not you're all always off to the next thing the next game or were you aware of presence in the need of the power of now before that definitely not in the same way i mean. I think growing up in in the christian church. There's different words for those type of things and is about Meditation and being present and spirituality don't really fall in the dogma. it's tough. I always had ideas and interests outside of that kind of strict construction ism And i enjoyed You know reading and learning about other religions and practices and mindfulness meditation. And i think it was when i started to get into those things. I realize how important the idea being president what that actually is You know acted out in your life. how important that was. "Hello and welcome to south beach sessions. You know if you've been listening to this show for a while. That one of my favorite athletes is aaron rodgers for a lot of different reasons but it starts with an admiration of the craftsmanship at the position and the learning. He's tried to do on this journey in public. So i like asking him questions outside of football and i know you wanna hear about his off season. It was eventful and it was dramatic. And i will ask him about it before the interview is over. But i'd like to ask him. And i think he comes on with us for extended periods. Because i like to ask him about life and things he has learned so he is now engaged to be married and the first question i have for him. And thank you for joining us. Aaron on south beach sessions. The first question. I have for you is what can you tell us you've learned about love. What has the path toward love. Been like for you. Yeah great start to that thank you so much and oh man i in most important is love yourself. After that everything comes easy and along the path. Where would you say that that got easiest or where was it. Hardest right because i imagine as you're becoming an adult and growing their spots where you identify with what you're doing professionally and perhaps you don't love yourself the way that you might have otherwise. Yeah that's a good point. I think a lot of it is just reconditioning You know kind of Shedding the conditioning of our youth recognizing patterns that we learned As young people You know some patterns were directly based on interactions with our parents or friends some patterns where survival in whatever environment. I'm talking about like maybe some. Some people probably violence situations or dangerous situations for others just survival of the day-to-day to day. Status quo and recognizing those patterns and trying to make a conscious changes to those in the moment To allow you to overcome Fears emotional trauma anything from your childhood. Still kind of impacts the way you see view and interact in the world that when did you start dissecting some of that stuff It's been a while. I've been working on those things. I think more recently as able to find kind of words for the process. I went through a a weekend With the hoffman institute. Which is you know has long been known for the last forty plus years as An institute that that helps you With childhood traumas emotional Issues kinda just loving yourself. Better and growing They have week long. Retreats they have shorter stuff and i took the two day this off season and and it was impactful and kind of gave me the words so i've been working on for a number of years now. What led you there. I think in general when covert hit in early twenty twenty and travel that i love doing slowed down. I started to just really dive into my other favorite passionate. That's learning and different subjects..

"They know that they're not. It's not like they're surprised by this. It just helps him to control a trade. But i do think we should say he was not he said. I am not closing the door on things on things changing here and i'm possibly here so he knows like look if they win the super bowl this year he wins the mvp. It's like he's probably going to be on the packers again next year. He's not going to stamp his foot. And they'll they'll probably just change where they're like that that part of it. I appreciated that. He i think that was newsworthy. And all this only happened because the packers miss evaluated and that is the number one thing they thought he was in decline and they made a decision to take love. They were making calculated risk. That rogers only going to be here two years. They thought he was in decline. His play last year was ultimately like the surprise. And now all this mess dislike this handing it. Didn't he wasn't the question jordan love. It happened because the packers tried to make a business decision and the quarterback. I wasn't enough. He was gonna play close to an mvp level. They valuation right. But this happened this entire mess. This summer happened because it wasn't enough for the quarterback to win. Mvp and basically show everyone. Hey you messed up. He needed to take that extra step to me. That's ego and that's what this has been about. I think that to me is what why this happened. That's aaron rodgers. More than i. I hear you and i think that's that's fair. But i did find him credible and the one thing. He was probably more adamant about than anything. Was that those leaks coming from me. You can say what you want about the drama. That was happening this summer. I can put in a was saying. I can promise you that is not coming from me or my camp and i believe like i believe in what he could've slowed down a longtime that. Like if you wanna complain about schefter having certain things or the way like that. I don't think that was coming from aaron rodgers. I think those everything that came out was because the packers wanted it to come out and not have to wait till july twenty eighth to put a stop to some of this madness. That's the one thing i'd say. Look at he said. He spent the summer in introspective states working on his mental health. That is good. I think that's good for anyone. But he could have. He could have slowed down this drama wheel and frankly i think a lot away that a lot of the media bow down to him. Yesterday i found that that that got on my nerves. Drama people like us who follow this closely and hardcore fans for eighty percent of america like they. They knew that he was out. And then he's back like by the time matters and like nothing ultimately changed. We're more annoyed about. It doesn't excuse it though. I don't i don't know why continually expanding excuses fended. Aaron rodgers walks into the middle of a dry forests then lights a match and set the thing ablaze and then walks away. And then the packers..

We all know we know that he's to quote the casuals and see naismith. He's a bad man. Or as i said last year hughes a pistol rodriguez. But that's going on folks where players in the nfl are trying or is getting more control over their own destinies within the organization that they play for. Because before that i mean people were just draw. Just treat it like a the wheel that could easily replaced and aaron rodgers is like tired seen it happened. He said i've been here for seventeen seasons. I've seen you know many of great players coming up and a reporter. That acts them about well. I understand that you feel that way about these players. But you know you still have. Their production was up to they left. Why didn't produce. And i love. Aaron rodgers revises where he basically said while. You can't compare the offense there that we have here and expect the same thing that's one and then to a huge difference to lady talk about jodi. Nelson went to the raiders. There's a huge difference between the geordie catching the ball from boxer for a few gains. Actually the raiders and iraq's like like the fact that that wanted to make that comparison is just asinine. Come on komo folks. But i can't wait. I can't wait to see how it goes. Go forward. I wanna see more quarterbacks or franchise players get the opportunity to do this. I think this is something that football needs. Honestly but we know that this podcast but if you can always listen to website. We'll be back tomorrow as we talk more about the olympics. Talk more about the nfl all season. Of course more about this. Aaron rodgers story as her. But you catch us monday through friday four. Pm eastern standard. Time as it gives you more news analysis and the reas-.

"Orne indiana one nine with it so to my rants. Okay i'm going to gloat a little bit. There was a personal issue between the packers front office and aaron that he felt that there was a lack of trust that he felt there. Were things being done where obviously had no input and he was unhappy the way it were down. He expressed all that yesterday This became a big story. It was pushed out on draft day was done with a lot of fanfare and it kinda dominated the the news on the off season for you know when they're no games. No practices no other things to talk about. And what i said all along are few things number one. The packers weren't trading aaron rodgers in twenty twenty one. Twenty twenty two. They are trading aaron rodgers. I've said that all along number two. Aaron cantrade himself number three. He's not gonna retire. In number four there would be some accommodation financial or otherwise to allow him to come into camp in the end of july august. Any would play the packers and number four. Is i repeat it again. Or number five. He will be traded in twenty twenty. Two what i had thought. Aw last week even Twitter video on this was that we get to a point where it got to the point of. Having to avoid. In other words the packers would void out. The contract cut off for many years of the contract and allow aaron to pick his team. I thought that would be for twenty twenty one. After twenty twenty one. In other words they would get aaron to play this year. He would board next year. The packers wouldn't get any draft tracks trade compensation which to me is a big deal. But if the packers were Aaron rodgers they would gladly give that it turns out erin. God avoid but it's for after twenty twenty two in other words. The packers have two more years of contract. Which would allow them to get tricked. Compensation twenty twenty one and there's some soft language in there at least according to reports they would revisit this thing at the end of twenty twenty one. Of course they will because they want to trade him. I've said from day one when they drafted jordan loved two things number one. It's an expiration date on aaron rodgers and the packers and i thought it would be twenty twenty two still have always app. Still do and the second thing..

"A way to get behind aaron rodgers because all he was saying that i'm trying to recruit better players and i'm trying to keep our best players and so he is essentially defending the guys that are on his roster. I think that that kind of goes over well in the locker room. And there's always the on quite honestly in a locker room there's always a us versus them mentality and depending on. How big that circle is you can decide who lives and who the dam is and on most teams. Frankly for an office is them offices. Who's cutting people off. His is not paying you. Enough front office is not the guys who are out on the field sweating or getting injured and all that stuff so we often think about the front office as them. So i don't think that having any type of tension between Aaron rodgers in the locker room in the front office is going to have a negative impact on this team. Now someone on the team interpreted. Aaron rodgers is comments as saying that they aren't good enough that they let their good players go. And now you got me stuck here with these bums. Then that could be an issue. But i don't think that's how they were interpreted. I didn't didn't feel that way. It didn't feel like he was suggesting that very very quickly dominate now. We're in the area of guessing because he did leave the door open to the possibility of it continuing beyond this season so right now where we sit right now. Will aaron rodgers be. The starting quarterback of the green bay packers week one of next year of twenty two. Wow we are jumping. Enjoy this season. mike. I'm gonna go ahead and say no. I think that he wants that. Tom brady experience. I think everyone watched that and saw how fun that was and i think iran is thoroughly enjoyed that. So i'm going to go in and say no okay fair enough. I'll hold you to that the best as always thank you. My man for jumping in here are few minutes this morning again. Brian.

"Is that he's the reigning. Mvp yes going into that year. They drafted his backup in. The first row is so now. When you take all steps you give him the leverage that he needs to come to you and say yacht intake care of me and show me kind of that. i deserve. Y'all ain't take care devante and give him to kind of bring heat. Deserve now is championship year or bust and this is degree bay fast. A great opportunity to see if they can win a championship in his final year. The squad i would say that them going to the nfc championship game in the last two years was exceeding expectations. I do not expect them to win the super bowl. And i expect if tommy put those concessions again when you look at a list of things that were quote unquote conceited from thrown air. Rogers they all looked to be in his favor. After this year. They're going to review. What happened at the bottom mechanisms in place to address rogers issues with the team. What is that a conference call like we do in a week. Couples therapy like what are mechanisms in place to address rogers issues with team. Mr rose. Well here's beauty. Dole there thirty one other teams in the nfl. Did not get the jockey full position because they know the aaron rodgers is going to be available. They know devante adams is gonna be available yet. Your money right. It's a salary cap right draft choices right and so this now becomes a win win for both sides because the green bay packers is not just gonna lose for nothing. That would be foolish. So they're going to get a hefty roots her aaron rodgers for sure. Now jalen one thing you've pointed out is what jaanus in wisconsin did. He sign the extension before he had to just the calm the waters so the story didn't follow them around all season long. Seems like rogers just did the opposite after a loss. We're going to ask if he has one out the door at your every win. We're gonna ask that's going to be enough to keep them there. This packers drama is going to be alive and well throughout this entire season until the final snap of their season. And then we'll talk about it all off season. We got the theme song. Let's get guards professor on the phone. We look at the front door all season all season after the headline this story line drive the narrative all nfl season law jalen every once in a while. There's a new story that comes across. That just makes me angry and the next is one of those. Last time we talked about k. cunningham. He was a tigers game. He was listening to detroit music. He was acclimating himself for detroit. And now you're countdown crew brother adrien roadster naski took his twitter fingers out in tweeted. This i can't believe. I'm reading this detroit. Turn around three players for the number one big thursday night of cunningham. Green mobely sources tell. Espn detroit isn't fully there yet on committing to cunningham with the first overall choice..

"Sixteen in green bay just like bart starr spent jesus ingredients quarterback by the way ever played seventeen season in green bay but we don't want to trade him and so that's just in my mind a stance a stance right to stand that point in time. Just like we heard the raiders. One say we will not trade khalil. Mack and the jaguar say we will not trae jalen ramsey. And i know this quarterback. And i know it's a different deal. But that's what they had to say that time we're not gonna trade him as much as he wants to be traded now to your other point about aaron rodgers. I've always felt. I've always felt that. Aaron rodgers and i've said this time and time again needed to get a little bit of mud on and to. He is not being willing to do that. I think he wanted the green bay packers to be the bad guys and just trade him to do everything privately which i applaud for because you've never come out publicly and said all this elsewhere steal. This doesn't want to be there anymore. It's told other people just want to be there anymore right and so he could come out very simply and just say something to this. Mex- i love my coaches in green bay. My teammates in green bay. And i love the time i spent in green bay but greg akers moved on. They trade up to draft a quarterback. And i'm gonna pull in my life where i want to move on. It's nothing personal really interesting. Adam what you're saying talking to adam schefter on the max kellerman show i get your drift. What saying is. It's not so much an issue of guts with rogers in terms of being willing to. Hey sit out a year. It's an issue of him wanting to not get dirt on him he to be clean the way like lebron never wants to be seen as a coach killer that kind of thing and if rogers to date to date passive aggressive about this right. They asked him on the match broadcast against the bears. She hoping we'll see things saw they asked him. What the tahoe golf not. What's going on. You have decision after this going to go back and and think about it and He he's never come. Ask what are you talking about. I'll be there. He's never and said. I don't want you just kinda keeps it going along. And that's that's what he wants to do. He's been passive aggressive about in my mind now again. The other way which has been deuce may may not do it all and just say. Look i like i said i love. I love my coaches little. I'm not coming back. Sorry not coming. Back great shackleton yup sitting out hackers packers could say well what we're trading you so you're gonna retire but as i said you're gonna sit on. Somebody could bring that much in. Return that distraction distraction. Hang over your all year long. No you're going to take the third and the useful player right now. I'd probably get for the guy. You're going to if goth plus two i in a third lands you stafford. You gotta imagine aaron rodgers a useful player three i and another draft pick at least like a monster hall. They could get for this guy. Why wouldn't they do it. Of course they gotta do it if roger yup. They've been unwilling to do that for and we'll see how we'll see if that changes if and when he doesn't show up i don't believe he's showing up to training camp with three years. Left that with that exists is that contract is in place right on that. That's that's what i believe now. If they can come up with something then well maybe he shows at some point in time but I don't even know that that will get it done. Maybe there's money's decided i'm not going back there. I don't know that right. We're waiting to see what he's going to do with this adam. They're telling me i they've been telling me for a couple of minutes. I have to wrap. But i like the info so i got you can beat him to hear that. I'm like you're like you're like my drug dealer on the corner and i just have to keep getting i keep coming back. I'm sorry i it's a very interesting topic to me. i find it. It'd be really interesting. Of course this is going to have ripple effects probably unlike anything we've matter of fact coming up at them. How's this for a tease. I'm gonna tell everyone what the ripple effects are going to be if adam rogers adam. Rogers adam schefter aaron rodgers. Not adam rogers just like. It's not aaron schefter if aaron rodgers leaves the nfc north. Thanks a million. Adam really appreciate it every time he jump on. Thank you have a great day adam. Schefter join me on the goodyear hotline helping you discover the road ahead. Goodyear more driven coming up this year. My yankees will finally be sellers. What's this no doubt. "Is the very latest on aaron rodgers where we are thirteen days away from the packers opening up training camp. That's july twenty seven now yesterday. Adam schefter had an update on the roger situation on his podcast. We thought the update deserve to be played in its entirety. So here it comes. This is shefty. We also continue to wait for an answer from one. Aaron rodgers who very easily could have dismissed all speculation. That's going on around him with a simple statement of training camp or i'll be there on opening day and instead we haven't gotten that because the fact of the matter is the truth is he doesn't want to be in green bay. He hasn't planned to be back in green bay. Now we'll see whether the packers and him can come up with some sort of compromise. That can lure kim back there. But i don't believe. And i think aaron rodgers knows this that he wants to be back there nor plans to be back there at this time he just hasn't come out and said it. Look the fact of the matter is he loves his coaches. He loves his teammates. He loves many of the people that he's worked with. But not everybody and so this obviously continues to set up as the storyline of the summer will see how the packers it but the one thing i feel very comfortable and confident in saying is aaron. Rodgers does not want to play there anymore. The question is whether they can convince him to do it. And i don't know how that is going to work out so this obviously sends things in a vastly different direction than much of the sensibility has been the last few days. And i underlined two words that shefty used. He says he doesn't want to play there. That's one thing he then says he doesn't plan to play there. That of course is something else entirely in. The jets are there and mike tannenbaum. I'll start with you here as a former general manager yourself who's in these places is thirteen days from now a deadline. Do you believe we will know one way or the other with some with some resolution how this is going to go green ant until we get to the opening season until we get to that first week. I don't think anything changes because green bay has to be convinced he's going to miss regular season games for them to even consider.
