"I mean, I even Tony is having the season of his life mitrovic, too. 8 goals both. Harry Kane storming away with 9 and almost no one's talking about him because Harlan has scored 15 league goals 5th bloodily goals in ten games, which is both unfathomable. But it also has a knock on effect and that is, in a way, like Thomas Tuchel, if you remember at the beginning when he arrived at Chelsea, he actually humiliated other new managers. The way he instantly arrived, the way instantly made a coaching impact, that changed the tenor of just how much time the other new managers surrounded him were afforded before they could be judged. They were marked while too cause making it change to cause turned it around. And in the same way, God, Harlan has put every other striker in his massive meaty shadow. He's completely rewired the expectations, the figures for what should be expected, what's good, how much time an elite player needs to be before we say they should be bed in and we're also feeling the seesaw whiplash of he who laughs last after failing to screw in the community shield laughs and scores the louder. So these two men whole lamb and Dole with Nunes are inextricably linked and they will be, they will probably be for the next couple of seasons. Plus, let's be honest, newness seems a tiny bit of a house of wind up merchant pest. And that kind of makes his bad moments. Let's just say less empathetic, plus man bun, having said that all come, dude is going to be terrific. I have no doubt it's movement. His ability to separate from his markers is individual skills. They're all elite and he's just going to find chemistry with his teammate and slightly uptick his decision making in key moments and goals will flow, light hair will grow, took in a massive moment for Liverpool. Here's The Rock. Yes, the bloody rock. Outing himself as a red. Do you support team? A football team? Yeah. Who? You know the one. Go on, tell me. The pride of treasure. Oh, Liverpool. Yeah. "I'm from the craft part of Pittsburgh, the former stomping grounds of Zack Stefan and the Pittsburgh river hounds. So the Christian Pulisic caucus also very interesting. It seems like he's playing a lot better. So if he keeps playing better, he'll get chances. In the camp that you shouldn't just get chances because, you know, you have the big fee attached to you. But I want to talk about women's Champions League. What a day. An incredible day to day. I mean, God, arsenal, football club, which I love on the planet. It's insane. Also having all the fun. Yeah, best me out there looking like erling hold on, trying to make up for 20 years or something. That was the largest defeat for Leon since 2009. They haven't lost by more than a goal since 2009. Bananas. An incredible result arsenal for those who don't know, beat Leon, 5 bloody one today, an incredible result in Champions League football. The defending champions Leon barce beat Benfica, 9 zero in a delirious night and there's just so much incredible women's football right now. We are living the NWSL playoffs. We just released, we just taped sorry our women's game for this Thursday, which is with another great Pittsburgh. Another great cling klingenberg and a best friend and teammate Becky sour brew of the Portland thorns talking beautifully, honestly, richly, remarkably about the Yates report, women's football is not just NWSL. I mean, the age report looked at all levels of the American game, but the response from around the world, the English footballers who were about to play the U.S. team saying, this is a global problem, the predators who are enabled by the powers that be within the game. And the game is about to explode, but my God, we've seen the price these women play with their bodies to grow the game. And I'd just say that that's the complexity. We're also Portland thorns fans are trying to work out do they go to their playoff game? Do they do they boycott the team? To try and force the sponsors to step off and create real change or do they do they support this team support the players and the players are saying, you do whatever you want. You come during position, but my God, we really need your support. I think so fear Smith said, you're all we have right now. You're the best of what we have. So it's a deeply wonderful time. The best. I've said a couple of times the best of times. The worst of times in the women's game from a dickensian perspective. But my God, tonight, arsenal 5, Leon won a delirious delirious man. I've actually taped the game and right after we finish with the which will be momentarily, I'm going to see for that. Arsenal fans just every bloody facet of the game. You are coming, you are coming up wonderful godspeed in every regard. And I'll tell you one 6 four. It's a very, as a Chelsea fan to be so big hearted, so loving, so supportive. Remember that it's back on peacock, this Saturday, special guests early Harlem. Yes, he's on. Harry Kane, not together separate and rounding off the trio, Aaron ramsdale. It's quite a spine. I'm going to finish with a toad, something that filled me with true joy. And I'm going to raise my jager moisture to the Golden State Warriors. It was a beautiful moment. I actually tweeted it. Football's popularity grows in the United States, yesterday there's an incredible interview. Where clay Thompson talked about how Steve Kerr has been showing the Golden State Warriors, video of Barcelona introduced him to the concept of tiki taka and said play like that. And it fills my heart with joy to see football rise to such an extent that the coach of the current champions is showing his players how to improve their game by watching beautiful, beautiful football, even more so when you realize Steve Carey has been on our show many times. It's actually a Liverpool fan. But that is our future where all our ball sports meld and we are all the better for it. Godspeed in every way to more to more and we're going to end this by just wishing you all huge love and courage. If you like our show, please give us a 5

"Any joy in the past couple of years. That is all that we ask. Favorite revel in this moment with us, thanks, encourage. You know, my son, George roger read, gods of soccer, the demo copy that we got earlier to show us like a black and white version of what the book would look like. And he read it as one of the 5 books he had to read between 5th and 6th grade as his summer reading project. And the teacher disqualified this choice because clearly it was not a real book. It is a real book. It's really going to be published. And send his teacher the pre order details. We're just still waiting for the adjudication from Georgia 6th grade English teacher to see if it's going to be allowed. But Godzilla might not be a real book, but that system, the notion your son is reading books. I would have to introduce my kids to the notion of what a book is before they actually read the kids. Does this thing cool a book? And kids, I'm also going to show you what a compact disc is at the same time, but God bless, being in a book out in this day and age is almost insane thing to do. This thing is a worker beauty and with indebted to you all for your love and support. We should Rogers before we get into this mention that you are taping the next installment of Tyler Adams road to the cop. A powered by Volkswagen later this week. If you have questions for Tyler, call them in at 646-450-9472, you could hear your voice on the pod. If that's not cause for a tourist, I don't know what is. Oh, I want to raise my third first budget that they partially to Tyler Adams, but first of all, to the incredible footballing days that we're living in, both good ways and bad. We need to acknowledge that this transfer window saw Premier League teams burn their way through $2.3 billion gross. In incoming transfers in the space of just a couple of months, a record by some measure and more than all the money spent by the rest of Europe's so called big 5 leagues, Italy Spain, Germany, France, the rest. English teams spent three times as much as their nearest challenges, which sounds amazing, but the honest truth is my mate Rory Smith and The New York Times called it a wild and under a strange festival of consumption. I think he also calls our podcast the wilderness of the street for something exception. Two American owners led the way top bullish Chelsea spunk to over 350 million the glazers belatedly burned over 240 million at United. And what we're really seeing is the Premier League hollowing out the Spanish German Italian leagues as it once did the Belgian Dutch Brazilian leagues, which medium term not going to be great for the competitive balance of European football. Having said that, there has been one bright side of this new world order 10 a.m. Saturday. We American fans were forced into a true existential dilemma as GFP Mark dolce, route to us in a rave anyway. Who to watch Medford Messi, heat map Jesus and the Racine roughneck at Leeds or Jedi and it would be ream Kenobi at Fulham or starting 11 Cristiano pulisic and Chelsea and he wrote it did cause a brief RG barge between me and the misses who remains a Cristiano devotee about who gets the big screen. She screamed. Oh, come on. We watched Leeds last week. And in mark's words, we American fans are living in an age where we have to go multiplex and it really is the stuff we've long dreamed about incredible days. Our U.S. men no longer bit players, but key components on flourishing teams and its magnificent to witness David. So the Premier League football roger man united three arsenal won united. When their fourth game on the bounce against top of the table previously under featured arsenal football club, it was united who lit the fuse on this footballing spectacle in the 35th minute, Brazilian new boy Anthony slotted one with his left foot past Aaron ramsdale, but as they've proved already this season, this arsenal can take a punch in the 60th minute, bukayo saka swept a ball into an empty net, but a rash beans brace and a really impressive performance from this united side gave them all three points in the end. After losing their first two games, united, move up to 5th place arsenal, meanwhile, stay top after their first drop points of the season. A battle between ten hawk, who looked as he walked out with grim determination towards the technical area, bald of head clip to beard, open net white shirt, like a stern, puritanical preacher, who has his grip on the entire town, fishing up to Arteta in his casual black sweatshirt slot, the new kid who just appeared as a high school senior and turned that whole class onto the devil's rock and roll music. It was the footloose Derby for the off day though, young arsenal, perfect on the season. Their first true test, entering a venue where they'd only won twice in their last 20 visits and united. Optimism surging, the 13th most expensive transfer of all time, $100 million Antony, getting the instant start, Dave, a 100 million for the neck tattoo. They got the person who was attached for free on loan and every Arsenal fan of before kick-off was desperate and full of anguish, despite that team's perfect record, maguna mate Michael Cohen texted me.

"Nations League action roger England nil, Italy nearly rematch of last summer's Euro 2020 final played behind closed doors at Molyneux's punishment for the chaos and security issues that surrounded the aforementioned match at Wembley Gareth Southgate trotted out and experimentally 11 in this one. They never really seemed to click rods with Mason Mount thundering one off the bar raz spurling a tasty rest James ball. And so England remained winless in their last three after that loss to Hungary and draw with Germany earlier this month. England's World Cup auditions grind on behind closed doors in both of you, part of England's punishment for the manic scenes of disorder at Wembley before the Euro 2020 final last year, crowd scenes, South Gate, is rightly lamented as an embarrassment. This game gains an experimental Italy, absent so many of the classic names was a slog on the eye, shadow play, a shattered mind, Kevin De Bruyne was the gentleman whose articulated just how stupid these fixtures feel for me in athlete's perspective when he said the nation's league is not important. We have to play these games, but it feels like a campaign of friendly games just glorified friendlies after a long and tough season. I'm not looking forward to it. Something Southgate actually echoed credit him. He said, we're still paying the price of COVID, having three games in an international window for games now in the nation's league. Due to the timing of the World Cup because we lose the October camp, everything is condensed. Big picture they vote, let's be honest, on the field. No one really seems to care. These are games, aren't they competed by exhausted athletes, aching for a vacation after the pandemic forced them to run through back to back seasons? Yeah, I mean, look, even the British tabloids don't seem to be happy about some of the energy to abuse. The England players or the England manager, which they do do after this run of results had they been in anything meaningful. They would have been trotting out the worst headlines of all time. This whole group, by the way, it's not just England. Germany, Italy, Hungary. They're all beating each other up. It's still very close, but it just doesn't really matter. And tough to read a lot into this game. Yeah, it felt a bit like an empty charade filled with broken play of men going through the motions of the mission in this one was for England to show they could create clear cut chances, apart from Harry Kane penalties, like the one he gleaned against Germany to grab a drawer, but they failed pre miserably creating little with tummy Abraham God love him charging around maniacally but fruitlessly up top Mason Mount banging opportunities off the crossbar and when the impressive reached James did create a clear cut chance it fell to Raheem Sterling, who's finish was set on being Liverpool aero raz levels his whiff, setting off an English side that was just audible all around the nation. Yeah, I think Reese James, you rightly point out, I think it was one of his best performances in England shirt, thought Aaron ramsdale played very well and certainly, especially after Jordan Pickford's exhausting season, very good time for Aaron ramsdale to sort of step up and say, I'm going to be the official number two. Other than that, Declan rice I thought looks solid other than that. And Jack Grealish I thought was lively playing close to home in the black country. But yeah, we didn't learn a lot from this game. No goals from open play in three straight nations the game Southgate rude after the match that England the two reliant on Harry Kane for goals, his words, which is both true and terrifying that England had just one injury away from becoming utterly spike guns. All that depth, David that we celebrated in the Euros, a run of wonder, it just seems to have evaporated a mill Smith rose, plummeting down the depth chart Marcus Rashford, as close to the squad does Matthew hoppy is to the American one. Harvey bonds, nowhere Mason Greenwood out of football, Jesse Lingard, Callum Hudson adore, switching to Garner. It feels Davey. The noise around England right now, even in South Gate words, he said, it's quote extremely loud, churning descent and concern. About negative tactics, lack of an idea of football, the absence of creativity, leadership, and above all goals in this team. What are we seeing other than what I don't understand the same conservative tactics that got England all the way to the last semifinal of the World Cup and the final of the Eurasia World Cup, which was propelled by defensive vigor, smart throw in routines and set piece magic. Well, look, he is experimenting with a back four as opposed to the back three, so he is releasing one other place for an attacking midfielder. In the squad, it doesn't seem to be working very well at either end of the pitch. And I imagine other than against Iran, I imagine that England will set up in a back three. With two holding midfielders and they'll play that defensive form of football and probably rely on Harry Kane. I think what was striking this game you said Tammy Abraham running around aimlessly. He just got no service. You know, nobody put the ball into the box. And it's because Harry Kane creates so many of his own opportunities. He's a very unique striker. There aren't by definition there aren't many Harry Kane like footballers. Not only in England, there aren't many Harry Kane like footballers anywhere in the world, where are all the great number 9s going into this tournament. Harry Kane for England, there's like a quarterback that can throw his own passes pretty much. And catch them to himself. He's essentially, he's essentially English just in fields or how I imagine Justin Fields is going to have to be if he's going to have any impact in the NFL. But I do feel like the noise around this England team is like a natural outgrowth for me of Southgate being around for so long. And a naturally long time in international football. Hard to maintain control and respect through two cycles anywhere, Dave, but England, where whenever you are afforded respect by the entire nation, inevitably, Gareth was held as the last sensible man left on the island last summer. Inevitably, with that respect, you know you are going to be pretty quickly brought down to size, cut down ridiculed and made human English statute demands it, right? Statue and precedent. He's done for. And I think anything less than what a World Cup, you know, I think even a quarterfinal performance will be disappointing for the English media for the people that surround this team. So yeah, I think it's in a very hard cycle and England do lack. Look, there's still a very good international team. There is this idea and I read this a lot of owing to the crap. We're going to take them and kill them. Even if the U.S. managed to beat England, that'll be a really, really good scalp. That's not beating a weaker opponent that's beating somebody who's very difficult to beat. And there's still a very, very good international team, but there's very little excitement around the players and still something that's befallen this England team for a very long time. The players who we see sparkling in the Premier League very rarely other than Harry Kane and raz very rarely do it for England..

"I'm going to go with walker. Kyle walker. Now the reason I'm going to disagree with it is that unless you see Kyle walker as a center back, if Kyle walker plays right back, that means Trent Alexander plays left bench. And I don't want that because I think tread Alexander is really good. But now you're going to already where we've gone with the guy. I thought we were going to go with a dead certainties we could both agree on. I'm saying a dead certainty for me would be walker because he's the player that so often gets the two center halves out of problem. So you're dropping Trent Alexander Arnold. Personally, I think he's a great crosser of the ball. He's a great passer of the ball. He can not defend and he has no defensive mindset whatsoever. And if I was a manager, I couldn't go into a game, playing him at right back. I could play him as a right wing back. Even though he doesn't play as a right wing back. He doesn't play as well. He could play, he could play as a right-wing man. The formation is a right wing back, would suit him perfectly. Don't have to do too much defend. As long as walker was in behind him as the right side he'd send her off because the problem, the problem you run into with that, again, is if you play him as a right wing back, then you either play three 5 two with no lingers, which doesn't seem very clever for that one because they have a lot of options out wide. And they don't have necessarily too outstanding center forwards. Or you have to place three four three and I don't know that that fits the Gary Southgate mindset play three four three because why wouldn't it? Because if you've got Harry Kane, because he's very conservative. You should join to play a back three and then two defensive midfielders. And then wingbacks. That's what you could do. And he seems to like Phillips and Declan rice as a combination in that midfield. You could have Alexander as the right wing back, the left wing backs more of a problem than bench. If he's fully fit. And then you play two players either side of or off Harry Kane. Sterling, sanjoy, whoever's fit. And they can play that role because they've played that role for arsenal. They've played that role for Manchester City, Sterling's adjustable across the front line. And then you play walker with two center backs. Yes. And the center backs, I'm not a great fan of stone, so I think he's good enough on the ball to make up for his defensive deficiencies. Harry Maguire, I've always been a fan of his. He's had a bad season. Obviously lost confidence, but we saw him at the European Championships, the outstanding. He's got to get back to that form. And if he can get that form back under ten hog, he'll be a definite pick. Okay, are your goalkeeper still Pickford? Yes. Only because I'm not a pick for Pickford, I don't like goalkeepers that remonstrate every time somebody has a shot at them that they're a bit like look as though they're losing the plot slightly. He was at fault for the goal the other night. He makes mistakes. But he was a better keeper. Do you know what? I haven't seen enough of Pope to say, yeah, he's a great goalkeeper. He's consistent. Now I'd have to go with Pickford, he's the man in the role at the moment. Yeah, I think Pope is poppy is very good. Maybe he's even a better keeper than Pickford. I do think because Pickford's been part of this system for so long. Because Pickford's, I don't even know if he's but I assume he is better than Pope with his feet, but it does seem to be part of what he wants. I don't think Southgate wants a goalkeeping controversy. No, plus Pope's going to be in the championship next year or this coming season. I mean, I would assume Southgate is going to say, all right, but let's Pickford has a nightmare. It's big for his job to lose, which is fine. And also, I think he's going to look at somebody like Aaron ramsdale and perhaps judge him to be a little too green for it. Fine. Yeah, I go back to what he said before. The three four three, if we believe that he's willing to play that set up in that way, that is the best system to cover all aspects of the pitch because you've got a midfield four. You've got three. The players are spread evenly over the pitch. So it doesn't leave you short up front. It doesn't leave you short at the back. It doesn't leave you short and wide areas. It's the safest system in some ways, three, four, three. And you can do stuff with your wide players in the sense that you can have more traditional window types. You can have Grealish coming inside. You can even get the right players, maybe even if you want to make game even more comfortable, try to replicate a little bit the way spurs play. Get somebody to impersonate someone and somebody to impersonate them. It's not easy, but not easy, but I think it's the European Championship, a Sterling. It was the best he'd played for quite some while. He was outstanding making runs beyond Harry Kane. Okay, so I'm feeling a little bit better about England. Can we also put Bellingham potentially as an alternative in the ES? Those two in midfield. But you're going to certainties, Declan rice has to be a certainty. All right, so let's recap on the surface. Yeah, yes. Okay. So you've sold me on walker since we're going three four three. So we have Cain walker, Declan rice, and we've gone with Pickford as well, aren't we? I suppose. I unless he falls apart. Yeah. I've gone with Maguire. Is that just because of a lack of alternatives? I would say so, but I think Maguire, when he's full of confidence. And I think he'll have a good start to the season. I think he's nightmares probably behind him now. I think Gareth Southgate loves him as a player. Loves him as a person. I think he'll do a good job next. I think the question with Maguire is what is he like mentally, not so much with England, but when he goes back to unite, what if Eric and hogs is, yes, your American I've watched the videos of last season. I didn't like the way you played. No, or even just to start some preseason. And he says, I like varan and Lindelof. I like veron and say these signed timber or whatever, right? I mean, it could happen. In absolute terms of variety's fate, we agree with Iran is a better player than the wire, right? Yeah. So that's one slot. If then united go and spend big money on a center back, all of a sudden, I mean, South Gate might have the dilemma of, okay, he's not playing regularly. Do I still do I still pick him? And then I think because we attach so much relevance to the captaincy. I know there's been talk. He's going to put it up to the wires a leader on this team and that's just going to create a whole bunch of other issues and more psychological baggage that for Maguire to deal with. I have to dealing with a ton of it last year. That would be my concern there. But yeah, I look at this, I think it's fair to say England are in better shape in Germany. Yes, I would say so. And another player that doesn't matter how he's been playing for Manchester City, when the big games have come around for England, Sterling has always been picked by south cape, and he did the European champion because going into the European Championship, Sterling was totally out of form. He was the player that everyone was saying, he had probably been left out the side, all these other players were going to come in Sancho was going to come in, saka was going to come in. And they did to a certain degree. But the player that played every game and played very well was Sterling. Okay. So we were a bit vague on the two wingers, right? There's a lot of options. Sterling, Sancho, Grealish, Foden, who I think is perhaps the best of all. Mount who's not really a winger, but would have to adopt inside. I mean, actually, the word I'm out. Does he get kind of, is he kind of the odd man out because you don't want him in the two in front of the back four? In front of the defense. If you're playing a three, so three, four, three, you don't play with you can play without an out white players up front, but you're not going to because the wingbacks would particularly if it was true. Alexandra Arnold gets going to come inside. He's going to come and accommodate me. Absolutely. As he probably plays for Chelsea quite a lot of the time. But narrower for Chelsea. And you could do the same with Sterling..

"And be a backup and not get enough minutes, but part of making it as an international soccer player is finding a way and forcing away to get that start. You mentioned Matt Turner, I thought he was one of the standout players for the U.S. tonight. I thought he just looked supremely confident. He looked in control. He made a couple of good saves his positioning was excellent. And I thought standing in front of what I thought at times was a pretty shaky backline for the U.S. I thought he just looked outstanding and I think the U.S. having a great goalkeeper. I think Matt Turner could be the next great one is really, really important. And I think you asked Matt Turner about this. He'll say he's going to go to arsenal and he's going to fight tooth and nail against Aaron ramsdale to be number one and get his opportunity. They play a lot of games over there in multiple trophies and he's going to get his chance. And so I think it's a good thing. I think it's a fantastic move for Brendan aaronson and a rumors now about Chris Richards, going to palace. I think that there are just very, very exciting times. And that's not to say there aren't other elite clubs. I think, look, Malik Tillman coming from Bayern is excellent to see him putting on a U.S. Jersey. I think he looked bright in his very little cameo today. But I think you want these players going to elite teams and a lot of those elite teams are in England. There's obviously the language barrier is not quite so severe. But look, this is just a continuing move. A few years ago, we had so few players. I mean, we had this joke, the American American player of the year, which would just be like Tim ream. And. We very a few years, we only had one competitor in that competition. So I think the Andrea and Tim really. That's so great. So the creating award for the Android first throw in, it was amazing. By an American. We have come John cuke and so far so fast. It's remarkable what occurred. Reaction to the failure of the 2000 and 18 World Cup squad. You've got to remember that in the run up between 2014 to 2018, MLS decided to build a marketing Gambia paying the best American players who were in Europe, Michael Bradley, who was at rumor duty outta door who was admittedly struggling in a second Premier League attempt in Sunderland, Clint Dempsey, fascinating. Just a glorious sniper went to Tottenham. I remember, again, I've talked about this several times. Matt fetterman, The Wall Street Journal, interviewed twins right after Dempsey had moved to Tottenham and Klinsmann said, Glenn Dempsey has not earned shit. There's always another level. You must keep moving up, then play where the music is played, which was his great phrase, you know, he played in Syria, where the in his language in his time, that was the music which played. I always loved that phrase. Right now the Premier League is where the music is played and Clinton was a complicated human being, but he was absolutely right about that, to be the best, and we want to be the best. You have to play against the best for the best with the best. And I got that language from Michael Bradley when I interviewed him, right before the Costa Rica again, the snow classico, the night before I interviewed him, we talked about rumor. He was then so bloody good. And I interviewed him, talked about what he dreamt of, and he said, I want to be the best playing in the best games in the best moments for the best team with the best players, making the plays happen in the best tournaments possible. That's where you want to be. He said, it's true. And we're witnessing that. And the thing we're not quite prepared for is it's not a straight line story. We've all watched goal. We've been nurtured by the milk of gold where you come out of nowhere. Yes, all these players have come out of nowhere. They all go to great clubs. Yes, now we used to celebrate with an American play against Chelsea against Barcelona against Juventus. Now they all start for those teams, but the starting for this team is not a straight line there's ups and there's downs. Now I'm going to speak with Tyler Adams tomorrow for our Tyler Adams podcast, which we do on a monthly basis. And one of the conversations of what happened with him is in the player's perspective, European football is not a straight line graph that just shoot efforts. It is full of blips and ups and downs and challenges and many of them, whether it be former injuries or feeling that, but I know they don't fear it, John. And though they don't fear, I know they know now where they have to go post at World Cup failure were so many that Michael Bradley, Josie Clinton, and different moments all decided rationally, why would I keep grinding out here and it is a brutal grind when I can take the massive paycheck that MLS are offering me in that moment. Michael Bradley got like three X I think two X three X between the two. What he was going to get for any European club to come back and play for Toronto and it's much better. I do believe for all of them as a collective to grind out their support each other through the success and failures, western, fantastic. He's a great player. He will learn so much from being in the Premier League. He's a he's like a cannonball. How are cannonball fare in the Premier League? Who knows? Let's watch it. Adams to lead, I mean, Tyler ends got a couple of options. He will work through what he does. I would love him to go to lead. That's a selfish, uninformed perspective. The question DeVille answered about Matt Turner, I think the world of him as a human being. And blown away by Matt Turner as a human being agreed. And his narrative and his growth is belief. I mean, he's inspirational. The Zack Stefan story is a challenge. You know, to sit on the bench for two seasons, three seasons is hard. But I believe that ultimately, some will fail, many will succeed. We need a few to succeed for the next generation many more to succeed and John cuke and the honest truth is I'm playing a long I'm playing the medium term game on this and I do, I believe we're watching something very special but all this to come and the weight please God will be a true joy. Thank you for asking God bless in every regard. Jake, cookie. Can be with us. Tell us what your question, where you are first, then we'll deal with that. Raj Devo, coming from Chicago Illinois. Hey, we're about Jake. I'm in lakeview. Oh my God. I want to put a pair of spectacles in late view. Ridiculously expensive. And I didn't have any money, but I was too embarrassed when they told me the parade not to buy them. It took me months to pay them off. Maybe that's maybe I brought them off you, Jake. How are you doing? What's your question, you beautiful person? I'm doing great. You know, I'm.

"This is not a good look at all, is it? Yes, obviously, over Mars forced to resign after it emerged that he had sent highly inappropriate text to a whole bunch of women club employees and other women. I want to praise Vander SAAR and ix for being open about this now. About because they could have easily lied about being aware or they could have misdirected. But it's not a good look. And when founders says, as he was quoted as saying any stories that, well, we were in a tough situation because we didn't want to postpone his new contract and we didn't have time to investigate the allegations. I just have to say, why not postpone his new contract? Why not go to mark saint mark? Agreed. We've heard this disturbing information about you. We want to give you new contract. We hope that this stuff isn't true. We have to investigate it. We're not going to tell anybody and if it turns out that it's not true. Nobody will ever find out. But we have to shed light on this. So good for them that they came forward later and he's apologized or whatever. But yeah, not a good look. You learn from your mistakes, right? Hopefully. After Austin trustee, arsenal are going shopping in Major League Soccer once again. You played many more games in MLS than I have from last year. Goalkeeper Matt Turner from the New England revolution. Turner, of course, also the U.S. men's national team keeper. I soon probably played against him. Any memories? And this makes sense given that they radiate Aaron ramsdale and burned Leno. So I think he's a good goalkeeper and a lot of people over in the U.S. technology and say, yeah, he's right up there very, very good. He's capable of playing outside of the league. So to see him leave the MLS to come to Europe to come to the Premier League like I get it. But the arsenal situation where they have runs there, they have Leno and now they have him. Those are three keepers who are very capable of being the starter for the club. So who becomes the third? I don't know. Who's the second? You would think they're going to move late on? Although Jules keeps assuring me that everybody loves Latino. He's so good in the dressing room. He's such an asset. I'm assuming Turner comes in. He's not going to come in to be number three. Beware assumption firstly. But I think with George as he sometimes lets us know on social media when he's right he's right. So I think he must be confident with this one. But I don't know, you would think that you can't have three keepers of that sort of standard. Just not even fighting for one space, but like two people looking after just one guy. It doesn't add up to me. I wonder too, Turner obviously started for the U.S. and the last break. If he moves and he's going to sit on the bench, there's a World Cup coming up in Qatar in November. I've been told. If he's sitting on the bench like there's any kind of, doesn't that impact him? Oh, exact stuff and sitting on the bench too. So I think by a whole time, knows who he wants to play and who he likes to play. And I think for goalkeepers, you might miss out on some reps or the facts is I think himself in sex stuff in a store in my opinion. The two best goalkeepers for that national side. And as long as they get some sort of minutes somewhere along the line. I think the trust is there. I don't think you can afford to drop him or drop either them just because they're not playing in the Premier League. Okay, I'm blanking on this as a city fan. So this is on the script. Let's see if I can remember just really bugged me when you've got a name on the tip of your tongue you can't remember. Who was the Manchester City goalkeeper that was like the size of a building? Yeah, it's apropos of nothing. No, no. If you're watching, we'll have you on the show happily. Absolutely. That's already like. No. He wasn't seats. I remember Joe Hart was the smallest keeper and he was 6 four because he was here and see what the Giants. By Leverkusen beast took got four two and gab that's 14 goals in the last three games. They're unlikely to get into the title hunt, but it's four wins in a row for gerardo. RICO suave. I'm happy for them. They've got so much fire power, verts and jabi and Sheik who scored again. I mean, I think it would only be good if they could at least challenge borchard Dortmund for second. They stole a ways away. It looks like it's coming together. And I think this is a positive for the Bundesliga. They're fun to watch. They are conceding goals as well. Of course, but again, I don't have a problem with it. Because they're generating a lot of chances and playing well. Spurs had asked their supporters not to sing a song where they referred to themselves as yid term stemming from the word yiddish, which some considered to be a slur in anti semitic slur. Nathan, this is a complicated story because obviously taught him our identified or historically identified themselves as a Jewish club and they say it's empowering. Whatever the case, a lot of the people singing this are spurs fans who are not Jewish. And many defied the clubs instructions. Yes. I'm not surprised that it defied the clubs instructions because for them, I believe the funds will believe that the identity of the club runs through them and not just the person who's going to be telling them to stop saying that word. When they sing or they sing with pride, whether there's a negative connotation which they believe exists with it. Or not, that's who they believe that they are and it's something that unites big groups of them. And I think for certain you can explain to them why it's wrong and how people will be offended by it. But again, people always hold on to something that I believe they think is their identity. This is what it is to be spurs. This is who we are. This is what we see. This is what we do. And trying to break people away from that. Yeah, it's not really going to work. And the more time you tell them to do it, the louder the songs will get. So I think there's going to be quite an impass here because I think people understand the overall conversation. But people aren't going to let go of that. Wouldn't you agree? I think there's two elements of this, right? There's kind of like, is it right that they be told not to do it? It's difficult for me. I'm not Jewish. I haven't had the same experience. I don't feel qualified to speak on this. The same way, I think sometimes people use words like this, people of color have used the N word. As an empowering way themselves and to do it. And I know that causes controversy. I'm not qualified to speak about that because I'm either Jewish or a person of color. That said. So there's a whole element to that and obviously a lot of spurs fans are Jewish, but a lot of them are not. So there's a whole entire conversation to be had there. But I do know is simply the club telling people don't do this, isn't going to work. And I don't think the club are going to start throwing people out for doing it. It's an interesting one. There was a similar that had been similar situations, although not necessarily. Obviously, ix are also historically the fans see themselves as a Jewish club, even though they're the link was perhaps even more tenuous. So I think it's a difficult one. I think the more people bring this up and talk about it, you can say, hey, do I want to keep doing this if it upsets other people? I mean, the fact that some Jewish fans don't care. Others are upset about that. Yeah, I think you need to go and upset somebody to affirm your identity. That's the question I would ask. Yeah, I think for me, that's the key bit there. I think if thousands upon thousands of Jewish spurs fans say that they take huge offense to.

"Show today. Are you on Twitter? I'm sure you are coming up. Taylor 12 in his tweeting and he's tweeting Matt Turner is going to arsenal or at least says arsenal interest that might break Twitter for the day. Brennan aronson could go to leads for many millions, we shall see about that. In MLS, you might have been surprised as we all were after we ranked the vaccine cripple the third best goalkeeper in MLS. Looks like he's headed to LAFC via trade. It looks like Paul areola could go to Charlotte or Dallas. It's re signing day in Colorado, Shaqiri to the fire we're burying that and more seasoned previews roll on Red Bulls. We got the Cali swing. San Jose galaxy Steve trundle joins us to talk LAFC. We're doing the top 5 center backs nimble S we've got your mail. What's up guys? I like that intro that we're doing now. Builds me up. It gets me hyped. I can just, I feel the energy flow through me. I hope the listeners feel that as well, and nothing can give us more energy this morning than Taylor 12th with 5 siren emojis to tell everyone that arsenal have put in a strong bid for Matt Turner. What a great opportunity for the player in the franchise to further enhance their brand. What do you think? What do you think about brands? Matt Turner, what do you think about arsenal? Yeah. Which group chat though? That's the big question. Well, I've got, so I have a group chat that's called arsenal, which is like a very niche arsenal and Barcelona fans. And they mesh together. And there's not a lot of MLS chatter in this one. So I think I'm going to be strong Euro snob vibes here. Definitely strong. The strongest. They're awake right now and active in that, but then also my U.S. men's national team. People are like, what's he doing? He's gonna lose his advantage over Zach Stefan as far as just that sort of regular playing thing. So I don't know. This one crosses a lot of different interest groups. This brings all the circles into the oh yes. So there's a little bit of like a black hole situation where we all might just get sucked in and just never be able to escape. Yeah, so which perspective should we start with? Arsenal just signed a goalkeeper for like 30 some $1 million or pounds. It doesn't really matter. It's a lot of money. Aaron ramsdale cost them a ton of money last summer. They have burnt Leno, you mentioned Zack Stefan, who's a backup of man city, but it seems like exact stuff it might be the U.S. number one, so maybe actually that's not even an advantage for Matt Turner and if you're Matt Turner you're like, I'm about to go get a fat paycheck. I'm gonna be an arsenal player..

"At the top here, Chelsea. Bayern Munich knew in at three Real Madrid behind them 5th Napoli, then it goes Liverpool to Elsa, that into freiberg and West Ham. What do you think of his later suffering? Well, I mean, it's not too bad. I'm glad that inter are in there. You know, if they've won four on the spin and west hammer played well, so I think from 7 to ten, it looks okay, but how a Liverpool? 6. Unbeaten this season, Napoli, what were they 5th? They're unbeaten this scene. Thought about it. He's got some teams down. He had a little look on Wikipedia and he thought who's playing well. There's my ten K deal with it. He doesn't go into that deeply. Well, well, maybe Shaq is Internet a bit better than done, and he can actually do his research. Put a few little steps. How you doing? Listen to the real world. Find here. Have a Real Madrid up there to head a little bit. Together. All right, sorry to the Liverpool fight over there. You're a little bit fuller. Did you cry? I'll tell you what. The way that he's got Real Madrid sitting there. You should have kept quiet. It would scare underneath and nobody would notice. I have nothing to do with Shaq's power right kids. So don't shoot the messenger R 8 Stevie. Gab what do you make of his latest power rankings are you okay with them? I find Freiburg kind of interesting. I know they're up to third in the Bundesliga. But to have them ahead of West Ham and shock up played for West Ham. Also I may have missed this. I don't have them in front of me. Did he kind of overlook the other team that's top of the table in Syria? Milan, maybe? He's overlooked Melania. Yeah. Yeah, maybe they've not helped themselves too much in the Champions League. But I accidentally put the top, Frank. Is there anyone missing in the power rankings that you'd like to see? Or do you think these are all right? Well, you know, we all know that French are very arrogant, but it doesn't mean that you have to forget about them, you know, and therefore I don't see any French team in that power ranking. So I'm very bit surprised. Marseille is doing great. He's doing good. Well, as much as many clubs in that power ranking. But otherwise, you know, as a Chelsea fan against a Real Madrid fan and a liver Buffon, I'm quite happy to see Chelsea in a second spot. Can we just say I'm a Middlesbrough by the way? They're never going to you'll never see the day on track as pro rankings. "Until about. Feet. Unbelievable. I'm sorry. Do you think about this podcast, right? Right. What all the teams you just talked about? English men's and women's football is thriving right now. Thriving. It's so exciting. It's so exciting with major tournaments on horizon. Like English football is so good right now. The talent, the talent is so good. Paul is. If anything, it's almost too many good players. They're really good players. I want to shout out so I thought something 'cause I was both Southampton. And when I want to see him stay in the league. That's a beautiful gold escort. I think palace in the league is a better Premier League in my opinion. Yeah. Amen. Because no one is going to South London bro no one likes driving down South London. Can I nominate someone for flowers? Go on who? Aaron ramsdale. Can I be totally honest? The save that he made from the you should have seen the match of the day off is everybody was clapping. They were clapping. How did the freeze frame image of that? I was looking at like how does anyone get their body in that shape? How do you, I was trying to recreate it. I was like, how do you get your body like that? Well, flow is that he said, with England, he's been with England with James Madison. And he thought that James Madison was going to come his side. Yeah. And he said, that's what he's really worried about, but he said, you know something. Because he knows how good James Madison is taking us, because let's face it. That's a go, bro, that is a goal. And he said, I thought he was going to come my side. But when it went over the wall,.

"Oh man. Who else should we be go for the Premier League? Can I say big up? Can we just Norwich? Are they gone? They've gone aren't they? They got to be. Well, what did they do? Do they stick or twist? I don't know, because being here. Every time he's been here, he's just not got it right. You know what I mean? He's still talking about buendia, buendia's when November now. You can't still be talking about that. I know they spent money. They spent money on sergeant. You know what I mean? They've got they've got Brandon Williams on loan. He's not playing Billy Gilmore's on loan that he's not playing. You know, that's weird. They're looking trapped in this football and purgatory. It's quite weird to see teams come up a couple of times from the championship. It never was that poor. I tell you what I'm worried about now, right? Leads. I'm not so worried about leads actually because I think they've been missing alien and bamford for what like four or 5 games? But then you look at them, it seems like everything's everything's rafina. Norwich had 14 shots against one of them. Other teams with 14 shots probably do more. I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me to see Lee's beat less the next weekend. Just wouldn't actually. I mean, this is the thing I think in the market. Hitting that point of the season where I always find this part of the season around November to Christmas new year really strange because it can kind of everything can change. Yeah, like spurs broke out on the top of the table last season after ten games. And then how different it was. Everything starts to shift a little bit. And you see a lot of movement in the table. Bear in mind what we're talking about arsenal a few weeks ago, even after the palace game to be honest, they're now what level on points with man's man united and three points behind man city. Also the 6th, what the fuck? That's what we should be. You know, we're in and around there. And we should be checked. That's where arsenal should be in the real world. This is wild to me. Can we pick up your old club? We have to pick up palace. And Patrick, because remember, when Patrick his name was in and around it, you know, people talking about came in and he wanted to change stuff and you know, what's going to happen? He's got so many first teamers of going ten, 14 people coming out of contract and leaving and stuff like that. Steve Parrish, dougie freed man, and Patrick, all the people in and around have to take a lot of credit for the work that they've done in the business that they've done. You know, the two sent arrives in gay he and Anderson footballing center of to go alongside Joel ward and Tarek Mitchell is a solid as you'll see in the Premier League and football and them to at the center up can play. James McCarthy seems to have gotten new lease of life. You know, you're looking at something like Alicia from Mike Lisa from reading. 7 goals 12 6 last season is still to come in as he's just come back from the planning on the 23s. Conor Gallagher is somebody that's the way he's playing. This is a push hard to try and keep it. So good. At least another loan. Wilfried Zaha is playing. I saw him play at West Ham, watching play against West Ham when there were two when they were two nil down. I've not seen him put in a shift of work like that. And Conor Gallagher scored a two goals, and I've seen him do that a couple of times so and do it with Leicester as well. You know, he's putting in a shift. I don't know what Patrick's done, but he's got he's really he's really got him going. That seems to be a belief and a confidence in that team that you would you would fancy them against literally any team. In the league because Patrick was saying before we're playing okay, but we're just kind of getting punished. Remember they've been 95th minute equalizer they've had stuff like that. Arsenal's equalizer as well. If I got a couple of times, they've come back sort of shown Ryan, that they've got the they've got the tenacity to know we can get back in this game, even benteke. A vente looks like he's energized. He's amazing, man. He's like a lot of credit for what he's done, because he's changed he's not changed it drastically right because there's still very stoic still very solid, but when they break, now, when they break, they break in with purpose. When it was under Roy, it was literally the banks back, and then when they got the ball, it was like, give it to Wilfred. He's got to try and take on 6 people. Not anymore. They've got Connor doing the Conor Gallagher doing the press. They've got like Wilfried Tsar went into their bam they're ready to go. It's fucking exciting there. They're very excited. Do you think this seems to be the first season in the wild that there hasn't been any noise about wolf go in somewhere? I think Patrick said a word. Whereas last year and the year before there was all the thing about arsenal, didn't he want to go at one point and then he ended up staying? And then maybe someone's at the lady Patrick's head to talk. Well, I can't remember, I think it was the guy who does HL T ZO. He was saying that a lot of that squad is in there. They were asked on fans growing up. Yeah. So see some of that Patrick come in. They're all of a sudden like wow. We actually work on the Patrick Vieira. I'm delighted for Steve parrot speaks to Steve quite frequently. You know what I mean? I'm happy. I'm delighted that he's gone like that because no palace person could say that they were not worried when people continually was speaking about the fact that this many people are leaving. What's going to happen all of a sudden, you know, what 6, 7 months later wherever the palace looked like a team that can be challenging for Europe. What am I giving flowers? I haven't given flowers to anyone. I'm not giving up. I know who we're going to. We need to think of flowers too. Because we didn't do the probability on Stadio. So I just want to give a couple of other shots. Obviously, it's a Brian for a good point. Obviously, Monday night. The old boys up front, and they're doing business. But we have to talk about that goal because that's what it's about. You know, Ronaldo what you can do. His goal against spurs is beautifully controlled. It was a beautiful finish. You know, and same with Cavani's goal. Experiencing class to spam ban to nil. You know, start to see new no go, but it just didn't fit. It didn't.

"Go to help. They do need that because if he picks up an injury, then it's a different ball game before them. And we know that David Moyes signing strikers down to years. He's not being great. It's not really happening for him, but in the main the whole team katsuma looks amazing in that sense. It does honestly flow. It looks amazing. And you look at him at Chelsea and you feel there's a jitteriness about him and you could play the ball to him and it's like, okay, get to cut. Now you look at him and you think he's accomplished because he knows he's a mainstay. He's got brilliant coaches there to help him. And he's going to play. And he's playing in a team with unbelievable energy. Like Jared Bowen, did you see that? I don't know if you saw it flowed. Chris Wilde had done a piece on him on match of the day two about the work that he puts in down that right second. He got 8 goes last season. If he can continue to get goals and play like that, we're talking about a sensational player in jad bones. You know as well, you know, I don't know if you guys know that he's even more of a West Ham legend now because he's actually dating Danny dies daughter. You're joking. Oh no. For the Venn diagram of each other. It's amazing. It's Danny diesel called Danny. Yeah, she's called Danny dad. Wow. So in this film, I know they absolutely torched them. What's next for villa, though, right? Because I'm worried about my friends who have villa fans are seriously worried. But this was meant to be like a build season, right? This was meant to be right, obviously losing Grealish, but there's potentially still enough there to build on, have a good cup run, like continue to quietly push up and progress, but it's just really flow with the Bailey, and things obviously is injured for this. We know that he can score, but I don't think between buendia and Bailey as we've seen in flashes that they look like they've got something. When do you got taken off, went straight down the tunnel. So talking about somebody who's not even been there long enough is already from that strap. Yeah, it's not good. We have to look at villa and say, what's that? 400 spin. Even when they stayed up in 20 9, what was it 2019 or so? They never lost four on the spin in that year when they were 17th. They never lost foreign a spin. They conceding goals. West Sam. Now they conceded, they conceded, west them arsenal and wolves. We're not talking city Liverpool and like Chelsea. They're conceding goes hand over fists. Yeah, turning their last three 12 in the last four. But then they beat money before that. So it's just like I have a quick question here though for you too. When concert got sent off, hall should have gone as well, right? What are the elbow for the I thought that that was pretty. So I didn't even get booked for that. I didn't even get to even get any booking. It's like they totally ignored it and I think both should have gone. Yeah. I can't believe horse didn't even get a booking for that, because that was really nasty. And it looked horrible. What about the Aubameyang Evans? And then what was the other one? The other one was the port got sent off on the port and Zaha. So.

"Helped him. You think, yeah, if I was a West Ham fan at the time, I'd have been like, why are we back here? We got rid of the sky. Flow set, you know? And I think that actually having no one around. I think just gave him some time to work. Now, we hope that no one ever that situation never happens again, but I think specifically for this situation, it was one of those things that were like, oh, actually, in hindsight, that kind of worked out, not dreadfully, because by the time fans were back in, he'd already done such a good job. That there was already way more positive momentum and energy around West Ham than there was when he took over. I just don't think would have been present because obviously they were stuck in this rut. And west Alan fans have been really put through it since they moved to the new stadium. I think the but yeah, I'm just really happy for them and really happy for West Ham and like Declan rice is now turning into some kind of monster man. When you look at their backroom staff, which I think is really interesting when you look at all of them managers, they've got managed they've been managers to appear McKinney. Alan Irvine, Allen, I set my first ever goal up for Christopher's by the way. You know what I mean? Thanks for the analyzer. Manager, you know, Paul Neville managing New Zealand. Everybody behind the scenes has managed. So you can imagine the wealth of experience and knowledge in and around those guys for people like Jared Bowen, you know, for people like Declan rice to come in and have patience with them and get them to a place. You look at four ells. You know, four hours, lanzini, they're now in the structure where the old West Ham dentine they probably come into that Westland side. It doesn't happen. And like, Anderson and hello, they kind of like fall away and then bam they're gone. But you're looking at West Ham team now, even Antonio, Johnson's just come through right back to keep souffle out of the team. You know, like I mentioned four now's Bowen. All of these players even Jesse went there. It kind of come into a place where it seems like it's an unbelievable place to be at the minute. The west van players probably can't wait to get into training. That's an unbelievable feeling. They feel like these all of these players I should say are improving, continually. They do need to get a striker to.

"Beth mead on his agenda. Sorry. Manifesto. Knob should not play man. Come on Serena. But the fact is, the left side of arsenal, let me go back. The left side of the arsenal. Unreal. They destroyed the first goal. That first goal, the Kim little goals. Yes. How does she touched? How does she get that time? How does she get that touch? Small sided game 5 minutes. I was up there the other day he was doing some shoot for us. As we manner. My name is she's so sweet. She's just so sweet. I love her so much and she's so she's sweet and she's got some energy and she's cool and she's got vibes. She's got stature. You know what I mean? She's an absolute baller as well. Her Instagram Instagram is wicked, a good follow on Instagram as well. Honestly, she was so sweet and we had a lovely picture on the couch. And I lovely chat with Leah. She's somewhere else in her focus right now. She is. She's on another level. Yeah. She's focused. A defensive side and what she's working on now, because we know she's a player fuller, proper, as well. I mean, obviously, her mom was a defender. So she's, so she's getting a lot of she gets a lot tuition from her mother. I've seen about Van Dyke and the kind of like the vibe they've got where they say to somebody, okay, well, take me on then. That is the vibe she's on. She won't be beaten. You know what there's a patient to it as well. There's a patient through her plane now because I think Millie bright can be like this too as well. There's an eagerness to dive in, and eagerness because you know your ability you know you're a very good player. There's an urgency to break up the play to put in a tackle. But there's actually a very good patience to really Leah Williamson's game now that maybe was missing before where she knows that if she waits a little bit, she'll actually win the ball and she'll be all right. Because she's got the pace as what she's got the pace. It's like when people talk about car walker, they stay safe, yeah, but when his face is gone, we'll see what he's about then. Right. They've got that intelligence as well and where they say right. I'm going to stand you up now. If you want to try and knock it past me good luck. That is where Leah Williams is and she's so aggressive now. I saw her in that game against Everton. She literally cleaned, and I mentioned it to her. You clean Tony duggan out. Clean her out. And I remember before the start of season she done it to Ellen white, clean her out. And that's what you should do. You know what I mean? And then you pick them up and say, okay, nice and bam. And if it comes again, you clean her out of the Tony Adams trick. Exactly. And then bam do it again. Share aware of having it because that sure is what exactly is going on. Same with delinquent. He says, I know what they're doing. But the fact is, is that she's now gone to that level of. You can see she's going, I want to be, I want to be the greatest. Yeah, she's super. She seems super wise as well as she's only 24. She's still wild to me. You said mentioned many bright their shouts are many bright, she got an honorary doctor from the brilliant. So arsenal Chelsea in the final. Yes. Are you going for flow? Oh, it's gotta be arsenal. It's gonna be so good. You got it for us. Yeah, yeah, well, I live there. I'm down the road from the Emirates. I love Tobin. He finally got my Tobin heath shirt. I love him a Gucci, a lovelier. It's gotta be arsenal. You know, I love Aaron cough, but I love Frank Kirby, like there's, you know, I love them a haze. It's gonna be a brilliant final, but it's gotta be arsenal for me. You think so? I love Erin Kashmir, but I hope it's a sad Nando's after that final. This.

"She would support the defense and be a bully there. She was a bull carrier. She was important in the box. She was a presence everywhere. She was so physical. I'm now I'm just like, you know what, that's also. They can't replace that. And without her, they look like completely different tea. How long do you think he's got? Because Lucy bronze is coming back. What's going to be the difference? Even when Lucy bronze gets back. I guess the real question will be like you said, when the whole squad is fit, there is nothing to hide behind. There are no excuses anymore because we will see. Is that what's keeping him at the moment? Because the injuries, I think that's maybe giving him the opportunity to keep because they're not going to sack him at this point. They're like, well, what is it going to take? Worst seat worst record ever in the WSL? Knocked out of the cup. They'd won the last two editions, so they don't hold on to the carp. Not in the Champions League. I mean, he can't get worse than this, and he's still got his job. So you feel like, well, it definitely probably until everyone's fit. And then we get a real sense of right, how big is the issue and the problem? Because right now he can just kind of hide behind that. Could we give you some love to Chelsea though? Because dealt with it. Steamrolled. You know what? I had a funny chat with Aaron cuthbert as well. I don't know if you guys have ever met her, but she's just brilliant, brilliant. And a great interview if you ever get the chance to because I do find a lot these days, especially with the England girls like their media trained quite early on, like the FA get in there. And I understand why they do it. They want to protect the players. They want to make sure they know what's coming. And it's brutal. But I feel like it's really hard to sometimes get that personality out out of players, and that's what's really important to build the game to show the characters of the game. You need to show those personalities. I do find that. A fun with Erin, though, she does not care. My post match, I said, oh, you know, the last time you were at Wembley Aaron, was when you went to watch England, Scotland with your family during the Euros. And she was like, yeah, I don't remember any of that to be fair. And I was like, oh, do you think this is going to be a happier, a happier night? She was like, we talk about nil nil draw. That's a big one for Scotland. And that's legendary. She's just got so much personality so much energy. No, she talked about how Emma Hayes had been a mother figure for her during the pandemic, because she didn't have her family here and being able to see her family at Wembley is going to be huge. And I'm just like, you know what? That's what I want. I want players to show some formation because I was going to say I loved that Emma Hayes but talking about Aaron cough, but being like, oh, she's going to have hernando's on the bus. Yeah, exactly. And that goes on the bus. Absolutely. No, she's brilliant man. She went to that Wembley England Scotland game dressed as like braveheart. She had full face paid on. There's picture of her. I think it like guildford station at like midday, ready to go to that game. And she was absolutely steaming, but she loved it. Do you know what's gonna be so good is Cup final on the 5th? Arsenal Chelsea is a mouth watering Cup final fixture. If you are not thinking about going, you have got to go. That is going to be an immense final because Emma Hayes is going to be.

"Saudi FA Cup 75 arsenal there. And you know what was really great about it is because it's going to be on the 5th of December. You know the significance of that. It's a hundred years since women were banned from playing football. It was on the 5th of December. Wow. And it's unbelievable because Chelsea playing on the Saturday arsenal plane remains I'm talking on the Monday. So the 5th is meant to be. It's symbolic. It's amazing that that's fallen like that. So awesome Chelsea, watch the games. The city game on your flow. Yeah, I was in Manchester. It was a nightmare. I'm not getting back. No, they've got a lot of players missing, but I feel sorry for city. Do you know what though I don't? I wrote, I wrote a piece on the train floor on the way back from Manchester on Sunday. And I just really don't understand what Gareth Taylor is doing. There was a moment in the post match right, and this was proper like we were all staring at each other like, are you kidding me? City lined up with a back four. Someone posted a screenshot of how they lined up at the start of the back. At the start of the game, there were four players in the back line, right? Someone asked Gareth Taylor on the post match zoom. You look like you went from four four two to four four three in the second half, and he was like, oh no, we were actually playing like three, four, three, and everyone was like, yeah. No. Like literally we looked each other. What? And he was like, yeah, we played two or three, and then we changed out four three and we were just like me. He's lost it. Like, if you were doing that, your players didn't know that you were doing that, because they certainly weren't playing three in the back. Did it become like a three four three in possession? Was it just like a straight for all the time? Yeah, but the thing you don't get that wrong is that you can't get that wrong as a coach. I saw that somewhere where he said well you clarify, wouldn't you? Yes, because what that makes me feels like is what makes me feel like is he's literally scrambling. He's scrambling. That's what it felt like. And I just feel, I just think, yeah, the injury problems are ridiculous. The interpreters of ridiculous. They had a 16 year old on the bench, got back up goalkeeper on the weekend. They're playing their third choice. Goalkeeper to start. She didn't have a great game on Sunday. After the two goals she did make some good saves to be fair to her. But they had to call up a player who's only just turned 16 like last week to be in on the bench because their 17 year old, who is currently the backup goalkeeper fractured her elbow. Last week. So it's just endless for them, so I do have some sympathy in that respect. But I also just feel like they're not helping themselves. Bunny shore and Ellen why, as a two, right? You look at that, and I thought, do you know what that this could work today? This could work today. But there was very little coaching in there. I couldn't see any signs of them knowing what they were meant to do. They were getting in each other's way constantly. The two methods were Lauren hemp, who's phenomenal. Direct, play it out left and hope that she can do the business and just go straight through and go, have a shot or set someone up. That wasn't working because Chelsea did well to kind of mitigate that threat. Or it was long ball into short or white and one of them sort of knock it onto each other, which could work, but they kept getting each other's way and then Taylor took sure for half time. Sure has been really good in every game she's played. She's got a hat trick in the court final of the cup. She's really good player. And he's not getting the best out of her. So, although I have some sympathy for injuries, I'm just getting a little bit impatient with the lack of making the best of what they have got because they've still got a good squat. Bunny shore. Every signed her. I have to say, well, if we're gonna get Lauren hemp is gonna play like she is and we've got Chloe Kelly who gets down and gets the ball in the box get the crosses in. That's not our bunny shot place. She's on the shoulder. She has to be played through. So what's going to happen to man city even when everybody does come back? What's going to happen to bunny's show? What's going to happen to her? If he's taking her off now, the sign in the major sign, you have to say, it's the marquee signing for CE this season. Yeah, and it also just I asked it. I asked him afterwards. Why'd you take her off? And he said, oh, well, she did have a knock, but I wanted more energy and movement. And I was thinking, who she was moving around? Her Ellen white, we're moving around. They just won't get any service. Like you said. It was just like long balls and what they meant to hold up later. It was very fucking. It's very easy for Chelsea. Yeah. I think some newest just carried them last season. Yeah. And I think now they're being exposed big time. I mean, we all knew how big she was going to be when she came over and she delivered. But now I'm looking back and reflecting and being like, man, she was that good that I think she actually paved over a lot of cracks and issues at Citi. And she's a unicorn as well. She was dominant at all ends of the pitch..

"Of your life. And then, you know, we have a great time and then we get flow in and then we get in, you know, it's just like the energy, you know what I mean? I'm blessed. I must admit, I'm blessed. I don't know what to say because it's always been very difficult, like I said until what we now have 17 years in 18 years in to accept any kind of loveliness and niceness and warmth because when I was younger, I didn't have it, and then when I did get it, it came from a place of because I was successful. All of a sudden I love false love and it was really hard for me. And this is why I feel like some of the times I lashed out whether it was like on the pitch or personally with the things I was doing. I didn't care because I didn't feel like I was I didn't feel anything from anyone. You know what I felt from fans and how real is that when you're getting cheered because you're scoring. You know what I mean? It was really, I went for a real place and now I'm in a place where everything's wonderful and beautiful and I've got you guys my wonderful Missy's Miguel's. Everything was happening in Roscoe and everybody. It's just sometimes, you know, if you believe it or not, you have to thank something. I think is also though just like listening to you is a lesson on it sounds really cliche and cringey. But there is so much life to live. Like I'm 28, turned 28 a couple of weeks ago. And obviously, when you're fully living in the moment and you think these moments your life are going to be the most important these are going to define you. But actually listening to you, there is so much more life ahead and if you feel like you're not in a joyful place right now, like that joy is going to come. Yes. Is going to come and you don't know when it might come. It might come in your 30s and your 40s and your 50s and 60s, whatever, but there is so much life ahead. And you're not going to be defined about the decade or the years that have gone past. I think that's an amazing way to kind of look at life because I think I'm constantly just heading for the next thing looking at the next target. Actually sometimes you just have to take a step back and be like, wow. I can't wait for us to be up. Honestly. Because it's going to be the first time we're all apart from obviously mere moose's.
